Clarke Griffin Appreciation Week 2023!
Hey Clarke Kru! It's been a while since Daily Clarke Griffin has had an event, don't you think? Well, it's time to change that! We're bringing Clarke Griffin Appreciation Week back for its third year! As always, the event will run from October 24th to October 30th. (We start on Eliza's birthday and end the day before Halloween, it's the perfect time to celebrate Clarke, not to mention it's her birth month too!)
As we've done before, a list of prompts have been selected for each day to give you some inspiration for what you create for the week! Like we have said in the past, this event is hosted for all types of content creators, whether you make gifs or graphics or moodboards or videos or fic, we try to pick out themes we think will work for everyone. Check them out below!
Prompts:
Day 1: Favorite Look — For our first day we'd love to see your favorite Clarke outfit/look! Do you love her classic season one outfit? Maybe you like the black and blue outfits of season two! Or maybe give a nod to her temporary outfits like the Ark flashback or one of her dresses? Maybe you think her short hair could use some more appreciation, or you could even make a compilation of all her different hairstyles throughout the years!
Day 2: Favorite Underrated Friendship — We've done favorite friendship/dynamic, but what about a pairing that you think deserved more love? Maybe you wished we got a lot more out of the Clarke and Wells relationship. Maybe it's another one of the delinquents like Miller or Harper. Or what about Clarke and Roan? There's tons of duos to choose from, tell us your fave underrated relationship!
Day 3: Color — For this day we want to challenge all of your beautiful creative minds by channeling color! Whether that be one single color that makes you think of Clarke or a whole plethora of colors by making a rainbow edit! You could even use a color palette generator for some inspo if you want! Anything goes!
Day 4: Lyrics & Poetry — We love seeing things like this in the fandom and we want to see some more! Find a quote of some sort, whether it comes from a song or a poem or even somewhere else, and let it inspire you into creating something beautiful to celebrate Clarke! This could be in the form of gifs, moodboards, fanart, even a songfic! Whatever you want to create, we want to see!
Day 5: Bi Pride — It's not Clarke Griffin Appreciation Week without bi pride day! As always, we'd love to see all the bi love whether it's with a bi flag inspired gifset, a moodboard with cute bi aesthetics, maybe you could even use some lyrics from your fave bi musician as inspo! (Gentle reminder that this day is about bi positivity, we're here to celebrate Clarke's role as a bi leading character!)
Day 6: Halloween — The holiday is right around the corner and we'd love to see some fun and spooky ideas! You could do something orange and black themed, you can make an AU edit like Clarke as a witch or a werewolf! Maybe a manip of what you think Clarke would dress up as. You could also do some spooky horror-inspired editing if that's your thing. Even a Halloween drabble if you feel like writing instead. We hope you have fun with this one!
Day 7: Free Day — As always, we're going to end the week by giving you free rein to do whatever you like for the final day! If you have an extra idea or something you've been meaning to post, now's the chance to do it! It can be funny or shippy or completely AU or even just another compilation of your favorite Clarke moments! It's the last day so we want to see what you love to make!
There it is! Clarke Griffin Appreciation Week 2023 is officially happening! When the event begins please tag all your creations with #cgaw23 so we can reblog them here on the main blog for all our followers to see. We hope everyone interested in the event is able to participate, and we'd love it if you reblogged this post to spread the word! See you soon, friends! 💗💜💙

Moonchild
Part 2 of 3
Pairings: werewolf Marcus Pike x f!reader
Warnings: Smut 18+, explicit, unprotected sex, monster fucking, oral (female receiving), fluff and more fluff.
Summary: Marcus has been a werewolf all his life, something that is both a blessing and a curse. He desperately want to be a husband and a father but anyone he’s dated runs when they learn about his ‘condition’, that is until you!
A/N: the last part will release on Halloween 🎃 again I took some inspiration from @hopelikethemoon moonbeam series. Her writing of Ezra as a beast is just out of this world. It inspired the monster fucking in this part 😈

Comments and reblogs are really appreciated 🥰
“You’re a what?”
“I’m a werewolf. I know it’s crazy right, I’m crazy, but it’s the truth.”
“Have you been one all your life?”
“Yeah since I….wait, you believe me? You’re not freaked out?”
“Well are you going to hurt me?”
“No! Never.”
“Well then, why would I. You are who you are, and honestly it’s not the strangest thing I’ve heard. Have you ever heard of the Winchester brothers? No! Well let’s just say there are things way worse out there.”
Marcus is in disbelief, no one, absolutely no one stays after the learn the truth. Yet here you are accepting all of him. His father told him when he was young that he would find that someone special, the one who would love the man and the beast equally. That when he found her, never to let her go. He hadn’t, and he was happily married to his mother.
“You really don’t care?”
“No I don’t. Since your being so honest with me I, I want to tell you something. Marcus I love you. I know we don’t know each other that long and we’re not even technically dating but I do, I love you. I’ve never felt like this before.”
Marcus could feel his heart beating fast, this felt like a dream come true.
“I love you to, I have since you started here.” Your lips crash into his, your hands on either side of his face. You pull away resting your forehead against his.
“I should go.”
“Stay, please!”
You convinced him to stay the night, spending it and many nights after discussing his life as a werewolf. You learned that it was a genetic condition passed down through the generations. On the full moon he transformed into a wolf, on those night he liked to run free through the woods. He could change at any time of course but during a full moon the wolf took over him completely.
Now a month in, and officially dating, Marcus has organised a weekend trip away to his cabin. You couldn’t wait to spend a full weekend with him uninterrupted by work calls and emails. He said to pack warm, comfortable clothing, and on the way there you both stopped off are the supermarket to buy supplies for the weekend. The premise of this trip was for Marcus to fully reveal himself to you. It was a full moon and this was where he usually came to be free. The wolf had ulterior motives, wanting so badly to make you his, to make you its mate and breed you. It was a desire that Marcus has had to quench since he met you and it grows stronger every day. Marcus shared this sentiment but the human part of him has been hurt in the past and doesn’t want to rush this.
“Ok so I think we have everything, do you need me to do anything, get you anything? When do you shift? Should I stay away, maybe in the bedroom?”
You stop unpacking, worried you’ve said something wrong. Marcus was too quiet. Looking up at him you find his gaze already on you, a look of awe on his face. He walks towards you, wrapping his arm around your waist pulling you close.
“God you’re perfect baby.” He brushes a piece of hair from your face and leans in, placing his lips on yours softly.
“It will happen when it starts to get dark and the moon is at its brightest. The wolf loves you too, you’ll be safe. I have to warn you though it’s painful, a lot of bone breaking and stuff, but I’ll be ok, just don’t touch me while I’m changing.”
“Ok. How about I cook us dinner?”
“Sounds good, I’ll work on lighting the fire.”
It was cosy, sitting by the fire eating dinner. You could easily picture this in your future with Marcus. Maybe a few kids running around. No stop too soon. You don’t even know if he wants kids.
“Hey your thinking too loudly. Everything ok?”
“Hmm, yeah I….never mind.”
“Hey come on you can tell me anything.”
“I was just picturing a future with you, maybe coming here on trips and then my mind thought we could bring our kids here too, but I don’t even know if you want children. Maybe you don’t I..”
Marcus is shook, he had wanted a family for so long and after everything he’s been through he had convinced himself is was off the table for him. Then you came along and god it’s all he can think about.
“I want children, I want marriage, I want it all. I want it all with you.”
You don’t say anything else just kiss him passionately.
“I love you Marcus Pike.”
“I love you too, so much.”
When he pulls back his eyes are glowing that golden colour.
“It’s time, just remember what I said don’t touch me while I’m changing and everything will be fine.”
You don’t think you could bare to watch this every month, the man you love in agony. It’s a mash of clothes ripping and bones braking and skin tearing. You want to reach out and help in some way but Marcus’s word echo in the back of your mind, ‘don’t touch me while I’m changing.’
Suddenly it’s over as quick as it started and your staring into the eyes of a beast, and yet they seem familiar in their warmth towards you. You sit very still, unsure of how to proceed, so you wait until he makes a move. As if the beast can sense what your thinking as it approaches you slowly, sniffing the air around you. You won’t lie, you are a little scared, scared that Marcus was wrong and the wolf doesn’t want you. He moves up beside you, crowding you on the bed, his nose sniffing every part of you. He pushes you so your laying on your back, he licks your face and along your neck and you release a breath you didn’t know you were holding in. He’s looking you in the eyes now and he lets out a low growl. He’s trying to tell you something, what exactly you don’t know.
He begins to claw at your clothes and you finally realise what he wants, you. Your cheeks heat up at the thought. Is it even possible. You strip out of your clothes slowly, the beasts gaze on you the whole time. He pulls you to the edge of the bed, nudging your thighs apart before burying his snout in your curls. He begins licking at your folds, shoving his tongue into you and your slightly ashamed to admit he’s better at this as a beast than a man. Your back arches off the bed, your hands clinging to his dark fur making him growl into your core. You close your eyes as your body shakes in ecstasy. He looks at you, blissed out beneath him and he licks around his lips, soaking up your juices. You finally open your eyes and look at him wondering how this is going to work but you don’t get time to contemplate as he flips you over onto all fours, licking a strip up your back. You let out a laugh, of course he would do you doggy style. His huge claws push you into the bed and he’s inside you in one thrust.
“Oh fuck!”
He’s huge, Marcus is well endowed but as the wolf, Jesus, and unlike Marcus he doesn’t give you time to adjust. It’s rough and he’s pounding into you, hitting that spot just right. You come again, your hands clinging to the sheets.
“Marcus!”
He’s not far behind you, coming with a low growl as he coats your womb in his seed. You collapse onto the bed, exhausted. You just pull the duvet over yourself and he slides in beside you, his fur covers claw wrapping around you, the heat he’s giving off lulling you to sleep. When you eventually wake, it’s to Marcus’s human arm wrapped around you. He has you pulled close, his face buried in your hair. You felt loved, Marcus felt like home. You stir in his arms and he grumbles a little.
“Morning.”
“Hmm, morning baby.”
“Do you remember what happened last night?”
He nuzzles into your neck. “Hmm Hmm.”
“I, I didn’t know we could…you could…ya know, as a wolf.”
“He liked it, very much.”
“Oh that’s good.”
“I liked it very much.”
“I’m glad baby.”
“I love you so much baby.”
“I love you too, all of you.”
“Marry me?”
“What?!”
He moves from behind you and reaches into the drawer in his bedside table. He pulls out a small velvet box.
“I know we’re not together long but I can’t imagine my life without you. You’ve accepted me, all of me and I’m not letting you go. I love you Y/N, will you marry me and become Mrs. Pike?!”
“I…yes!”

''Ka-Katsuki,'' your lip wobbled as you spoke. ''Are you still in there?''
The werewolf bared its teeth, growling lowly. Your heart raced as you weighed your options.
I need to get away from him. But if I run, he'll overpower me. Beads of sweat dripped down your forehead.
Wolves live in packs. They work with one another. Maybe, he'll still recognize me...?
With a hard swallow, you rose from the ground. Bakugou growled and his body tensed but made no attempt to rip your body apart.
''Hey,'' you said softly, slowly reaching out a trembling hand. Bakugou growled loudly, saliva dripping from his fangs. You swallowed.
Wolves can smell fear.
Straightening your posture, you licked your lips as you forced yourself to stop trembling, and stared at Bakugou at his eyes. Time seemed to slow down as you did so. Your movements were impossibly slow, sluggish and at any moment, you could make a mistake.
''It's Y/N. You remember me, big boy?'' Slowly, you stepped closer, keeping your hand outstretched.
Surprisingly, the werewolf only grunted in response, watching your every move.
''I'm your friend. And you can be a gremlin sometimes, but you won't hurt me, right?''
You reached the beast. Your hand brushed against Bakugou's head, softly petting the fur. His chest rumbled and slowly, his body relaxed.
But just as the storm had calmed down, it picked up at full speed. A few feet away, you heard a howl from the bushes, followed by loud growling and the rustling of branches.
Bakugou immediately tensed, pushing you a few feet away and snarling towards the source of the noise. His fur tips stood up, claws gleaming in the moonlight, his beastly eyes swarming with bloodlust.
You fell to the ground- again, and staggered backward, fearing what was to come. In a blink of an eye, a large, lean werewolf leaped out of the bushes and tackled Bakugou to the ground.
A flurry of snarls, growls, and yelps filled in the air and for a second, Bakugou's eyes met yours. And they weren't pitch black, but the shining red you loved. As he yelped, you swore you heard his voice intertwine with the whine, yelling at you to leave.
Nearly tripping on your own feet, you raced out of the forest, even as you heard Bakugou yelp. It made your heart squeeze from the worry, but all you could think about was escaping the forest.
Branches scraped your arms as you ran through the forest, and you nearly wept out of joy when you left the trees behind and stepped onto cracked concrete.
Your foot slapped against the road as you raced further away from the forest, following the road signs until you reached a familiar looking neighborhood. Home.
You don't remember how you must've looked as you arrived home, with scratches and scars, twigs and branches in your hair, and a look of absolute fear on your face, but surprisingly, your parents weren't home, so it was one less problem.
Since it was the weekend, you had been planning to sleep in all day and try to recover from whatever the hell happened yesterday. The images still flashed in your mind, all of them blending together- the scare house, Bakugou's horrific transformation, the gruesome fight. Your stomach wouldn't stop churning.
Around the afternoon, the doorbell rang. You heard your parents shout and fight earlier, but ultimately left around ten in the morning. Groaning, you buried your face deeper into the blankets, deciding to ignore whoever was at the door.
But then the doorbell rang again. And again, and again, until it kept ringing consecutively for minutes.
''Go the fuck away!'' You shouted from your bed, hoping it would reach the stranger's ears.
Maybe it did, but they didn't care. The doorbell continued ringing, and you buried your mouth in a pillow and screamed into it.
After a few minutes, you regained your composure and went towards the front door. Surprisingly, they were still there. You froze when you met familiar red eyes.
It was Bakugou. He was holding an orange plastic bag in one hand, his other scratching his neck nervously. When he saw the door swing open, his eyes widened for a second.
''Hey.'' He said gruffly. Even as he retained his cool and careless composure, you could see the sweat trailing down his forehead, and his left shoe tapping the floor anxiously. There were some stitches and bandages on his face that weren't there yesterday.
''What- what are you doing here?'' You asked, wondering whether if this was the end of your friendship or not.
Bakugou swallowed. ''We need to talk.''
You bit the inside of your cheek before reluctantly nodding.
''Okay. Come on in.''
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
''What do you remember?'' Was the first thing he said as the two of you sat at the dining table.
You snorted, tapping your fingers on the table. ''Bakugou, I was scared, but I didn't go into a coma. I remember...everything.'' You swallowed thickly. He remained silent. You pressed your lips in a thin line.
''What...why didn't you tell me about it before?''
He scoffed dryly, raising an eyebrow in amusement. ''Wouldja have believed me if I did?''
You shrugged, before pondering it for a few moments. ''Yeah, you're right. That was a dumb question.''
Katsuki chuckled, before shoving the mysterious object in front of you.
''What is this?'' You questioned as you examined the bag.
''It's for you, obviously.'' His snarky comment made you smile.
When you opened the bag, your smile grew wider. It was hundreds, if not thousands of candy, the type you'd get after trick or treating at dozens of houses.
''Look, I know... yesterday didn't go as planned, a lot of weird shit happened, and I'm sorry.''
You giggled. ''You don't say?'' The blonde snorted and rolled his eyes.
When he moved, you noticed how he softly winced and clutched his ribs. Your eyes widened and you leaned over the table to examine his face and chest.
''Oh god. You're hurt from yesterday, aren't you?''
Bakugou shrugged you off, avoiding your gaze. ''It's nothin'. Just got roughed up a bit.''
You frowned, rising from your seat and walked towards him, grabbing his face in your hands. You didn't notice how his face went warm.
''This is my fault,'' you murmured, brushing your thumb on his cheek.
''If I hadn't suggested going to that stupid scare house, you would've been at home, you would've been safe-,'' You stopped when Bakugou's hands reached for yours and wrapped around yours.
''Shut up, dummy.'' He furrowed his eyebrows. ''It's not your fault. If I hear you blame yourself one more time, I'm going to smack some sense into you. Got it?''
You laughed softly. Between soft laughter and comforting words, you hadn't noticed how close you'd gotten to him, or how easily you'd slid onto his lap.
''Bakugou...it doesn't matter. You're hurt. Let me help you.''
''No.'' His tone was firm and for some reason, angered you. ''I'm fine. Just fucking drop it.''
''No, you drop the act,'' you snapped back. ''Can't you just let me help you?''
The blonde's face hardened. ''I hid this from you for years, because it's not fucking safe for you. This is my shitty problem, so stop nagging.''
You slipped out of his lap, crossing your arms over your chest. ''Bakugou, even if I wouldn't have believed you, you could've told me. Look, I don't know how this works, but I could've been there for you. I could've helped.''
He growled and rose from the chair, meeting your determined gaze.
''No, I don't need your fucking help. I'm fine.''
Maybe it was his constant refusal, or yesterday's events, or the screaming match your parents had in the morning, but you lost it. You lost the reins to your control and exploded. Grinding your teeth together, you rose from his lap and stepped back.
''You're fine?!'' You shouted, slamming a fist on the table. ''Bakugou, you're a werewolf for christ's sake! And I didn't even know until yesterday! You got hurt yesterday, you need help!'' He scowled and opened his mouth to protest, but you raised a hand.
''No. You listen to me, Bakugou Katsuki. You kept this secret for me for years, and who knows, you might be hiding something else!'' You cried out, rubbing your forehead.
''Don't you trust me?! I've been in love with you for so long, and-,'' A sudden warm and soft pair of lips pressing against yours froze your sentence midway.
Bakugou's hands slid to your hips and you quickly melted into the kiss, looping your hands around his neck. He pressed you closer, lips dancing and communicating in a way neither of you could do verbally.
''I'm sorry,'' he said breathlessly. ''It's so hard for me to say this but fuck- I'm sorry. I know that you're going through a shitty time and this isn't helping.''
Both of you pulled away, chests heaving and swollen lips.
''Shut up,'' you murmured as your hands tangled themselves in his spiky blond hair. ''Shut up and kiss me again.''
Bakugou was quick to comply with your wishes.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Who knew that an angry discussion would end out in a makeout session, followed by the official start of your romantic relationship with Bakugou Katsuki?
''Oi, Y/N,'' Bakugou knocked on your open door as he stepped inside your bedroom. You beamed and greeted him with a kiss on his cheek, to which he replied the same. You grinned when you saw his face redden.
''Glad you could make it. I have your costume here!'' You rushed to your closet, but Bakugou held you back and squeezed your arm. You raised an eyebrow.
''What is it, Katsuki?''
He scratched the back of his neck, before revealing a neatly wrapped black square.
''I...'' He cleared his throat, averting his gaze. ''I got you something.''
Your heart softened. ''Oh, you didn't have to get me anything. What did you get me?''
The blonde placed the wrapped black box in your hands and shoved his hands in his pockets. He didn't respond and instead walked over to your bed and sat on the edge.
''How the fuck am I supposed to know?'' He snorted. ''It's yours, so fucking open it.''
His crude language made you snicker. You took a seat next to him and began to unwrap it. Your jaw slackened as you pulled out the brand new, expensive-looking dress and black, sleek, and shiny cloak.
''I saw that your costume...got turned to shit. So you can use that one, I tried to find the same dress.''
Shocked, you remained silent for several minutes. The dress looked far more expensive than your original one, with richer colors and fabric, as well as the cloak.
Bakugou shifted uncomfortably and you heard him scratch his neck. ''Or not. Do whatever the fuck you want with it, I don't give a-,'' You didn't give him the time to finish his sentence as you launched yourself on him, wrapping your arms around him in a tight hug.
''Thank you,'' your voice was muffled by the blonde's chest. His body stiffened by your embrace, but slowly, hesitantly returned your hug.
''Tch. It's-it's not a problem.'' As you hugged him tightly, Bakugou was vaguely concerned whether you'd hear his racing heart, somersaulting, and fluttering at your proximity.
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, the two of you pulled away. You quickly shooed Bakugou out of the room to dress and prepare your costume. Once you were done, you opened the door and allowed him inside once again.
''Alright, you ready to go?'' He gave you a once over and his face slightly reddened. ''You-you look good. Let's go.'' Katsuki grabbed your hand, but you stepped back.
''No!'' You said with a mischievous grin. ''You're dressing up as well.''
His eyes narrowed and he shook his head. ''What? Of course not. I'm not taking part in this shitty holiday.''
You gasped, grabbing ahold of him and pushing him down on your bed.
''It's not a shitty holiday. Now hush, while I find the perfect costume.''
The blonde grumbled and complained loudly, but made to attempt to leave.
''You have to do this,'' you said as you fussed in your closet, digging and searching through years worth of clothing.
Bakugou scowled. ''Tch. Out of all the things you want to do, trick or treating is the most important one?''
You quickly turned around and beamed in agreement. ''Yeah! Yesterday was weird, to say the least,'' He snickered in response. ''But today will be different. We're going to go trick or treating, and you're going to enjoy it.''
The blonde huffed and smirked as he watched you move back and forth in your closet.
''Aha!'' You grinned as your hands wrapped around the year-old ears, collar, and tail, and pulled them out of the basket. Alongside, you picked up the other part of the costume, folded neatly into squares.
''Here's your costume,'' You shoved them in Bakugou's outstretched hands.
''You've gotta be fucking kidding me.''
You cackled at his stone face. ''I'm not. Now hurry up, I want to see how you look in them.''
With a loud, animalistic growl, Bakugou marched out of your room and locked himself in the bathroom. You couldn't stop giggling as you heard him curse and mutter while dressing.
Once the door swung open, you sat upright on your bed and waited with expectant eyes.
Bakugou marched into your room with a sneer. You nearly squealed in delight. He was wearing a pair of dark brown wolf ears, a red collar with some loose chains, a long olive green parka that was ripped at the edges, a plain white teeshirt, loose jeans, and a dark brown tail attached to his behind to top it off.
You clapped your hands slowly with an everlasting grin on your face.
''You look... divine!''
Bakugou sneered. ''Out of all the humiliating costumes you could've picked, you decided to go with the most ironic one, didn't you?'' He huffed, before shaking his head and sliding his hand into yours. ''Come on dumbass, let's go trick or treating.''
With an excited giggle, the two of you left the house and stepped outside. Houses were decorated with Halloween objects, orange, purple, and yellow fairy lights, hanging ghosts and skeletons, and the wealthier ones had impressive equipment such as a groaning zombie android.
Children of all ages shuffled past you, in a swarm of hundreds of colors and costumes, each of them running toward houses with an incomparable amount of passion and excitement. You heard squeals, giggles, laughter, and the often ''Trick or treat!''
''C'mon, let's go!'' Tugging Bakugou forward and your orange pumpkin bag hanging on your other arm, the two of you raced forward.
Hours went by as you walked house from house, and your bag grew heavier with every house you visited. Bakugou would barely speak when approaching a house and resigned to keeping watch over you.
''Come on, Katsu, you have to enjoy the night!'' You complained as the two of you strode to a small park, deciding to take a small break and sit on the swings.
''I am.'' He replied dryly and you sighed, shaking your head.
''How much candy do you have?'' He opened his bag of candy. It was only a fourth of what you had collected.
You clicked your tongue.
''We can't take a break, you need more candy.'' Bakugou shook his head.
''No, I need a break from hearing those screaming brats,'' he grumbled, throwing his head back. You laughed softly.
The screams and squeals of children were distant, and the wind softly blew past you as nearby crickets chirped. Some people lingered by in the small park but weren't too close.
''You're such an old man,'' you teased with a playful grin.
Bakugou growled. ''Fuck no! I am not-what the hell?!'' Shocked, the two of you glanced back, only to see a small pomeranian dog growling, teeth clamped around Bakugou's green parka.
''You little shithead!'' The blonde growled. He abruptly stood up and attempted to grab the parka, but the dog was persistent. It growled loudly, tail wagging as it tugged at the parka.
You sputtered out a loud laugh, eyes wide as you watched the bizarre interaction.
''Fuck off!'' Despite Bakugou's aggressiveness, you noticed how he made no attempts to harm the dog.
''Oh my god! I'm so sorry!'' A squeaky voice interrupted your observation and you watched a young girl dressed as a bee rush forward, quickly picking up the biting dog in her arms.
''Fucking control your dog!'' Bakugou snapped as he brushed his parka. ''I don't want to see this shit again.''
The girl swallowed before nodding and running off. You sighed, shaking your head in disapproval.
''You could've been nicer to her, she's just a kid.''
The blonde grunted. He sat back down on the swing.
'Whatever. Next time.'' You snorted.
''I understand why the dog went after you, though.'' Swinging back and forth, you grinned at Katsuki. He raised an eyebrow, unamused.
''One dog recognizes another, don't they?'' His eyes widened and before he could get his hands on you, you giggled and raced off, leaving the park and Bakugou behind you.
''You little sh-HEY! Get back here, Y/N!'' You laughed loudly as you raced past crowds of children and decorated houses. Just as you thought you had outrun him, a pair of strong and heavy arms wrapped around you and turned you around.
Smiling sheepishly, you looped your arms around Bakugou's neck. His vermilion eyes were still blazing, but with a playful look.
''Getting cocky now, aren't you?'' He smirked, hands grabbing your hips. You tilted your head to the side with a small smile.
''Maybe.''
The blonde snorted. He leaned closer, his lips brushing against yours until they were completely pressed together, chasing after each other.
A loud ''Eww!'' broke you apart and you stifled a giggle as Bakugou glared down at the child who had interrupted your moment. The child quickly scrambled away.
You smiled, brushing your nose against Bakugou's.
''Happy Halloween, Katsuki.''

King Falls AM Episode Twenty: Referencing Aladdin Don’t Make It Right
King Falls AM Transcript
Episode 20: Referencing Aladdin Don’t Make It Right
Run time: 22:17
First Aired: Feb 15, 2016
Summary: Sammy & Ben get a quick update on the little ones off Route 72 and learn live on-air that not everyone had a great evening on the night of the Valentine’s Day Dance.
(For a list of characters and references from this episode see the end of this post)
[King Falls AM theme plays]
Troy: Hey folks, if you or anyone you know has any information on these hybrid werewolf slash human baby thingamagigs-
Sammy Stevens: Is that a technical term, Troy?
Ben Arnold: Can you please let Troy finish, Sammy, this is important!
Troy: Heh, thanks, little buddy.
Ben: Go on, Troy.
Troy: Well if you see those little beasts or have information on them you just got to let us know. Don’t harbor them, they could have the rabies and or the colic. And please don’t try to adopt while it’s in its human form, cause that ain’t gonna end up well. Just use your common sense and be safe.
Sammy: Thanks for calling in officially with police business and alerting the public to the issue.
Ben: Yeah, nice hearing from you on the job, Troy.
Troy: Whilst I’m still on official police biz, I’d like to make one more little statement if I could, fellas.
Ben: Dude, of course! The floor is yours!
Troy: Well the sheriff is a real foul mood regarding these hybrid wolf babies and what have you just running amok, and he wants to make it completely, perfectly, crystal clear that if anyone should have these animals or any other illegal animals in the city limits of King Falls, they will be apprehended and exterminated on site with extreme force of malice. King Falls is a zero tolerance town for any illegal animals of any kind, up to and including wolf-human hybrids.
Ben: So… uh (clears throat) you’re saying that anyone listening that may have access to a cute and cuddly but illegal animal should do… what?
Troy: Now I’m not talking to no one in particular, I mean this isn’t a warning, it’s just a fact. Sheriff Gunderson is making it a personal project to bring down any and all animals that shouldn’t be in town.
Sammy: But cats are fine, is that right, Troy?
Troy: No doubt about that. Ain’t nobody gonna get any cats while I’m patrolling the streets, friends.
Sammy: There you have it, folks. If you or anyone you know has any information on the werewolf puppies last heard from around Route 72 or any other illegal animals not allowed in the city, please contact the sheriff’s department at once.
Ben: (sounding strained) Thanks for the info, Troy.
Troy: All you listeners, you stay safe out there, alright?
Sammy: Thanks, Troy. We’ll talk to you soon, sir.
Troy: Roger that, Sammy.
[The sound of a phone hanging up]
Ben: (clearing throat) Well… that’s good information there, huh?
Sammy: Are you okay, Ben?
Ben: Yeah! You know, I’m just… I’m not a fan of the idea that Gunderson is sending out gangs of thugs to dispatch animals, man! Aren’t there real issues for law enforcement in this town? Last week, I saw old lady Turner jaywalking in front of the grocery store.
Sammy: So you’d rather Gunderson take down the organized jaywalking underbelly of King Falls?
Ben: No, I actually helped her cross the street, but the point is that this werewolf issue seems like an animal control issue! Let Ralf Harkins take care of this! Why are the police even involved, man?
Sammy: Your guess is as good as mine. Moving forward-
Ben: Yeah! Yeah, uh, moving forward we’ve got about thirty minutes of open calls lined up before acclaimed ebook author Kirk Sycamore- don’t judge this, Sammy- will be joining us to talk about his new book Dead Tom Turkey: The Perils of Uncooked Poultry.
Sammy: I’m sorry, what now?
Ben: I mean… it’s a thing. Undercooked anything can’t be good, right?
Sammy: I would assume, but seemingly that one sentence just covered everything you need to know. Cook it longer.
Ben: Then it might get dry. I don’t know man! Don’t look at me like that! Merv emailed and asked to book this guy. His book topped Beauregard’s King of King Falls, it’s got to be worth something, right?
Sammy: The perils of uncooked poultry.
Ben: In thirty minutes.
Sammy: I don’t know if I can hold this excitement in for thirty minutes, Ben. You must be bursting at the seams! Surely you’ve waited your entire journalistic career to talk about under-broiled birds.
Ben: Uh, if it makes this any better, apparently this is a novel, not an instructional guide.
Sammy: (outraged) That actually makes it worse! This is a fictional piece of work?!
Ben: Merv emailed this to us, Sammy.
Sammy: Listeners, please immediately stop what you’ve got going on and mark this down: I’m going to do my damndest to get you the info on Merv’s book of the month club. I’m on your side and I am fighting for you.
Ben: Merv, if you are listening, I do not need to be cc-ed on the email you are penning.
Sammy: (laughs) You heard it folks, that’s coming up quickly, but until then we are taking your calls, King Falls. What would you like to talk about this evening, Ben?
Ben: Whatever’s clever.
Sammy: Talking about whatever’s on your minds before what is sure to be a Pulitzer winning interview.
Ben: It’ll be good- you’re making fun- but it’ll be good.
Sammy: How could it not be? You heard our story, King Falls, now let’s hear yours.
Ben: Give us a call at the station- 424-279-3858, or hit us up at the tweet machine!
Sammy: That’s @ kingfallsam and @ kingfallssammy respectively. Line seven you are on the air with King Falls AM.
Pete Meyers: You’re saying to yourself: I don’t think Pete Meyers would listen to a show of this terrible quality, as handsome and as smart as he is. He’s probably watching Big Bang Theory or something.
Sammy: That is exactly what I was thinking, Pete.
Ben: Word for word, almost.
Pete: Look, I don’t like talking to the two of you either.
Ben: Yet you continue to call! And listen! And show up at events!
Pete: Ben if you don’t drop a little bass out of your voice I will roundhouse you right in the gullet the next time I see you. You hear me? I will skullf-(beep) your mom.
Ben: So now you’re threatening me? Do you hear this Sammy?
Sammy: (annoyed) Just hang up.
Pete: (stammering) Whoa, wait, wait, alright? You know, I’m sorry. I’m a little emotional right now… I would never intentionally try to scuff up my lugs on your face, Ben. I apologize.
Sammy: I don’t think that-
Ben: What’s the matter? Got a vampire not appreciating the hedge art you’ve been clipping into the bushes?
Pete: Well it’s kind of about him- did you say vampire?
Ben: (triumphantly) Knew it! Man, just fess up and tell everyone that your boss is a vamp!
Pete: Ben Arnold, I just bought domain to your name. And you know what? I’m going to fill up all the pages with babies and donkeys. What’s the world going to think of you? Some weirdo guy, making an internet site about babies and donkeys? Yeah, that’s right-
Ben: (all riled up) Oh yeah? Ooooooh, Pete! Why don’t you come down here, look me in the eyes, when you’re saying this huh? Huh?!
Sammy: Guys.
Ben: Meanie!
Sammy: Guys! That’s enough. Pete, state your problem or move along.
Pete: Alright, fine. I messed up big time. Worse than the time I dressed up as Edward Scissorhands for Halloween and ruined Mr. B’s hedges. Apparently I pushed a button or didn’t-really-push-a-button on a fancy thing… that’s beside the point. What I really want to know is- did you guys hear something funny on your station a week or two back?
Ben: Um, um, I’m hearing something stupid right now but I don’t know if that’s-
Pete: Come on, Ben! Be serious. I take you seriously- I almost respect you! Now, I heard a little something like maybe you guys got hijacked or something like that and I just wanted to know… you know, what’s up.
Ben: This again?
Sammy: Wait, Ben, we’ve heard this a few times actually. The shotgun guy said it, we’ve had a number of tweets about it. We don’t know anything about this but apparently another feed cut into ours about a month or so ago.
Pete: Oh sh-(beep).
Ben: Watch your language, Pete.
Pete: Watch your… face, Ben.
Ben: Wait, what the hell are you and Beauregard up to?
Pete: None of your damn business.
Beauregard: (from the background of Pete’s call) Yard boy, what are you doing in this chamber without supervision?
Pete: Uhhhhhhh what? Uh, Mr. B, uh nothing!
Beauregard: Don’t act like an ignoramus around the transmorgrifier.
[There are metallic clanks and scrapes in the background and the sound of metal pipes moving around. A whirring humming sound begins like a machine turning on which grows steadily louder]
Sammy: What the hell is going on over there? Pete?
Pete: You made me mess up again you butt smackers.
Beauregard: Don’t just stand there all slack-jawed and drooling. Turn it off this instant. Celestia!
[The whirring cuts off and there is the sound of a call ending]
Ben: What the hell?
Sammy: Well, folks, this is a first for me that I believe an on air failed attempted felony will lead us right into break.
[Cheerful music starts as a commercial begins]
Ernie: Hey there! Ernie Salsado’s leather bound books ain’t your normal bookshop. Maybe you’re asking yourself: Ernie, whatever do you mean? What I mean is that Ernie Salsado’s leather bound books is more than just a hipster reading book nook. We don’t carry none of those cheap-ass paperback books or harlequin novels here, plus you sure as hell ain’t gonna find nothing to read on your I-pad kindle whositswhatsits. For what I understand it’s only first edition leather bound books and (???) up in this joint. Maybe you’re thinking you need to gussy up your place to impress some broad or you have a real need to make people think you got a bigger vocabulary than some Johnny come lately. Either way, Ernie’s got you covered. That’s a book joke! Ernie Salsado’s leather bound books- we got fancy books! F-(beep) you, pay me.
[King Falls AM rock music plays then fades out as the commercial break ends]
Sammy: Ernie Salsado’s leather bound books? There’s two of these stores here? I’ve never even heard of one of them until Rich McGuff! I don’t know what’s more surprising, Ernie’s entrepreneurial rise in the community or him almost making me forget what happened before the break…
Ben: I’m literally afraid to comment one way or another on this.
Sammy: (amused) He is an intimidating specimen.
Ben: (carefully and slowly) If he… likes to hear that, then, yes, you are right. If not, please don’t slander that gigantic human!
Sammy: Ha, no slander intended. We’re taking calls and counting down the seconds before we get a riveting interview with the man who some call the Dan Brown of bird related mysteries.
Ben: Wow, they say that?
Sammy: No, they don’t! (laughs) The phone lines are still lit up, let’s take some calls.
Ben: Good evening, you’re live on King Falls AM.
Greg Frickard: (smugly) Well look who decided to pick up the phone.
Ben: (quickly) Um, let’s take another-
Greg: Hey, Sammy! I’ve got a topic of discussion. Let’s talk about how that co-host of yours is just gonna sit there all quiet and not even mention the fiasco he caused earlier this week at Granny Frickards!
Sammy: Greg? Is everything okay?
Greg: Oh, it’s not okay, Sammy. That- pardon my French- moron, that he would even-
[the sound of a call ending]
Ben: Whoops!
Sammy: Ha!
Ben: Line five you are on with Sammy and Ben!
Sammy: Wow, it looks like you learned a thing or two from Chet, I see.
Ben: Don’t know what you’re talking about!
Caller: Hello?
Sammy: So what happened at Frickard’s?
Caller: Are you talking to me?
Ben: Nothing happened to… let’s just-
Sammy: Not only are you my broadcast partner, I thought we were friends!
Ben: Hey! We are friends! I just didn’t think to tell you that I happened to have dinner at Frickard’s earlier in the week.
Caller: Hellooo?
Sammy: Uh huh. This wouldn’t happen to be the same night Emily was on a business meeting with Greg, would it?
Ben: I really don’t recall but it might have been… that’s a good question.
Sammy: You don’t recall going to your least favorite restaurant in town, which you never eat at, on the night of the King Falls Valentines Day Dance where your main squeeze-
Ben: Watch it.
Sammy: Where the girl you pine for-
Ben: Watch it!
Sammy: Where Emily Potter-
Ben: Thanks.
Sammy: Happened to be roped into a business meeting with Greg Frickard.
Ben: My mortal enemy.
Sammy: Paid sponsor of King Falls AM.
Ben: Whatever.
Sammy: You don’t recall if that’s the night you dined at Granny Frickard’s?
Ben: Ehhhh it’s not really ringing any bells!
Sammy: Maybe we should call Emily.
Ben: Don’t do that!
Sammy: Things coming back to you now?
Ben: Did- ugh… can I fill you in at break and not on the air?
Sammy: You’d better! You know, I’m a little sore that you didn’t tell me to begin with! And this was days ago!
Ben: I’m sorry, man, it’s just it’s not the best story. Believe me.
Caller: Hello? Can we talk now?
Sammy and Ben: No!
[The sound of a call ending]
Sammy: The turkey guy is not sounding so bad right now.
Ben: Ha, why don’t we try… lucky line one, you’re on King Falls AM.
Greg: Hey Ben Arrrnold! Why don’t you tell the whole friggin town about you showing your butt and ruining my business meeting with Emily Potter!
Ben: Greg, I really don’t wanna get into this.
Greg: Ohh, you can’t talk in front of Sammy and the whole town- what’s the matter? Frog got your tongue?
Ben: That's not a saying.
Greg: You sure didn’t have a problem causing a ruckus at the restaurant! In front of Granny no less!
Ben: Can we take another call, Sammy?
Sammy: Is this true, Ben?
Greg: You can’t deny it, Ben Arnold! I’ve got it on camera from multiple angles! You are a heathen.
Ben: Why do you have me making a scene on camera?
Sammy: Multiple angles?
Greg: I’d like to say it’s just the security cameras… but, if you must know, I hid a few cameras around the Froggery for my big night.
Sammy: You call a business meeting your big night?
Greg: With Emily Potter I absolutely do! She is the most beautiful creature in King Falls!
Ben: So you admit that it was a date?
Greg: It was a business meeting with a gorgeous woman! Take it as you will!
Ben: You’re so creepy! God!
Greg: Oh, so it’s creepy. Wanting your gramma and your future children to see the moment their future mother and I fell in love? Recorded for prosperity forever. Probably. Classily edited to voice a man and everything.
Ben: Yeah! It’s creepy!
Greg: (singing) I’ll make love to you! Like you want me to, oh baby hold me tight I will love you all through the night…
Sammy: That is really creepy, Greg.
Greg: You’re just a heathen. You don’t know what love is. What do you know? Tell them what you did, Ben!
Ben: I’m not getting into this on the air, Greg. Let’s just-
Greg: I am a paying sponsor of this show, Ben Arnold! Fess up, right now!
Ben: What are you gonna do, Greg?
Greg: So help me I’m gonna ask Granny- real nice- to pull your sponsorship money!
Sammy: Greg... are you crying?
Greg: (in a high pitched voice) No...
Ben: Hmm, so you’re threatening the show over a personal issue?
Sammy: Greg, we appreciate what you and Granny do for the show and the station-
Greg: I’m glad to see one of you does.
Sammy: But I’m not about to let you threaten taking money away from the station to pressure Ben into talking about something he doesn’t want to. Do what you got to do.
Greg: Ha! Don’t think that I won’t wake up Granny right now!
Ben: You want to talk about this on air, Frickard?
Greg: Tell the people what you did. Just tell them!
Ben: Ugh, okay. So, I made a reservation for myself at the King Falls best f-(beep)-ing Froggery the same night as your video taped date with Emily.
Greg: Keep going.
Ben: Jack-In-The-Box-Jesus, this is ridiculous. Sammy, I made a reservation and I made a scene! The end.
Greg: Details, heathen!
Sammy: Details would be nice here, Ben.
Ben: So, uh, (clears throat) I got there right as Emily was sitting down.
Greg: At a table right next to ours! He requested it!
Ben: That is also true.
Sammy: Ah.
Ben: And that’s that! I watched Greg lose his mind. Nature took its course.
Greg: He ordered every single flambé frog special on the menu.
Ben: Yeah? So?
Greg: Everybody who’s anybody knows that that’s the most romantic frog dish in the world! And you cleaned us out!
Ben: So what? You don’t need romance on a business meeting!
Greg: You ordered twenty of those things just for you!
Ben: And I paid for twenty! What’s your point?
Greg: My point? You didn’t even eat them! You brought in Chipotle!
Ben: Yeah, man! Cause frogs are gross!
Greg: You… you’re gross!
Ben: Oh yeah?
Greg: Yeah. You’re gross! A gross heathen and I… I hate you! I hate you! Ha! I said it. I hate you.
Sammy: Guys…
Ben: I’ll do you one better- I never liked you to begin with. You creep me out.
Sammy: Ben…
Greg: Well, heh, that’s not what your mom says.
Ben: Don’t you bring my mom into this.
Greg: Your mother things I am a fine, upstanding, entrepreneur, and model citizen!
Ben: She’s an idiot then! Sorry mom.
Greg: Heathen!
Sammy: Guys! (Clears throat) Okay so you disturbed Greg’s meeting with Emily. You ordered food you didn’t eat. I-is that it?
Ben: Basically! He lost it because I was probably in the shot of his candid camera date!
Greg: I lost my temper, but you had it coming! You get Emily whenever you want and I schedule months in advance!
Ben: Yeah, and you did it during the Valentine's Day Dance. Just real messed up, man. You’re a stalker.
Greg: Who showed up at whose date, Ben?
Ben: I was just having dinner at my favorite sponsor’s restaurant.
Greg: You don’t even like frogs!
Ben: Nobody does!
Greg: Why don’t you tell them how you got escorted off the premises?
Ben: You just did, idiot!
Sammy: If you were just eating, or not eating as the case may be, how did they have the grounds to toss you out of Granny Frickard’s?
Ben: Ugh. I- I may have started throwing tiny hush puppies in Greg’s general direction.
Greg: You, you, you may have? Pah-lease! You were pretending to be Nolan Ryan while you’re lobbing them at my head.
Ben: You had no right to kiss Emily’s hand!
Greg: Well you wouldn’t have even known if you weren’t, you know, stalking us to begin with!
Ben: Yeah? Well, uh, stay away from Emily!
Greg: Well I won’t have a problem doing that since she hates us both.
Sammy: I’m sorry, what’s that, Greg?
Ben: Can we move on… please.
Greg: Emily left in a huff and said she wasn’t a prize to be won. Totally thought she was roleplaying and I called her princess Jasmine… Which she also didn’t appreciate…
Ben: Nice touch, dumbass. Referencing Aladdin don’t make it right.
Greg: It’s kind of ludicrous when you think about it. I mean, she is a prize to be one. She’s the trophiest of trophy wives to ever be trophy won!
Ben: She’s pretty mad, Sammy.
Sammy: It sounds like she kinda should be…
Ben: She probably hates me now, man. Stupid stunt…
Sammy: I’m sure she doesn’t hate you, Ben.
Greg: Oh yeah, she hates him big time. I mean, she hates us both, but it’s basically a win for me. She was only lukewarm to my intentions but she can’t stand Ben now. She’ll eventually come back around to the Frog Prince if, uh, he’s out of the picture.
Ben: Greg.
Greg: I’ll take your apology on air, Ben. But I would also like it written on a nice piece of cardstock so I can show it to Granny.
Ben: I sincerely hope that you catch a frog-based STD and die.
Greg: And I hope that you find another perfect woman to fall head over heels in love with, Ben, because you just struck out. You stuck out big time.
Ben: You’re an imbecile! Nobody likes eating frogs! It’s 2016, Greg! You’re gross!
Greg: Ha! Shows what you know. Some cultures consider frogs the poultry of the pond.
Ben: Literally no cultures say that!
Greg: Oh yeah? Well ask Kirk Sycamore when he comes on, he’ll show you.
Ben: I’m not asking anybody anything.
Sammy: Greg, I think it’s best if we part ways for the night.
Greg: Fine! No skin off my bubble butt! Later haters!
[The sound of a phone hanging up]
Sammy: I think-
Ben: Can we just go to commercial, Sammy? I just- I can’t right now.
Sammy: D-do you want to? Is that on schedule?
Ben: No! And, no… Ugh, just take a couple more calls before the bird man pops in.
Sammy: Lucky line one you’re live on-
Caller: Hi, Sammy. Hi, Ben…
Sammy: Good evening, Emily. I assume you’ve been listening.
Emily. I’ve been listening.
Sammy: You know what, let me put you on hold so you can talk to Ben off the air.
Emily: No! I’d like to talk to Ben on the air, if you don’t mind, Sammy.
Sammy: You know, I uh… Ben?
Ben: Uh, whatever you want, Emily.
Emily: Okay, you know I don’t hate you, Ben. Far, far from it.
Ben: I’m so sorry Emily. I just, I lost it sitting there, thinking that you were all alone with that creep and-
Emily: You acted like a real ass.
Ben: I know I did!
Emily: I’m not a child, Ben. When I told you that I would love to go to the dance with you, that was the truth. But when I also told you that I was a woman of my word and was going to honor my prior engagements, as stupid and contrived as they were, I meant that too.
Ben: I just-
Emily: You acted like an ass!
Ben: I know, but-
Emily: There’s no explanation that will make this better, Ben! You acted like a jealous boyfriend and I’m not sure if you know this, but you aren’t my boyfriend.
Ben: Can I just say-
Emily: Even if I wanted you to be before, you aren’t. So you have no right to act like this!
Ben: (Pausing) You wanted me to be your boyfriend?
Emily: Before the incident there was no doubt about it.
Ben: After?
Emily: I- I- uh- I can’t let my feelings override the fact that you treated me like a kid, Ben. I am a grown woman! I am a professional woman. I don’t need some white knight to save me from the likes of Greg! And while I appreciate the idea behind it, like I said to you and I said to Greg, I am a person! I have feelings! I’m not a prize to be won!
Ben: I really messed this up, I’m… I’m sorry. Emily if you’ll just-
Emily: I just- I need some time to evaluate what the next step is.
Ben: Because you hate me.
Emily: No! Bec- because I lo- I strongly strongly like, probably definitely on the verge of more. I mean, I was scared to death that you were hurt or worse during Lincoln’s revenge! But I was scared even more when I saw you acting like a high school bully during that meeting.
Ben: You strongly strongly like me?
Emily: I do. But it’s, it’s gonna be a little bit before I can trust you to be okay with that.
Ben: I understand.
Emily: But I… I wasn’t going to let another minute go by of you think that I hated you. Cause I don’t. But you really need to fix this.
Ben: And I will. I- I promise.
Emily: I hope so. (pause) Ah, goodnight, Sammy. Ben.
Sammy: Goodnight, Emily. We will talk soon.
Emily: I’m sure of it. Ah, I actually wanted to talk to you about being one of the library’s spring break speakers soon. I’ll send you an email.
Sammy: Oh, please do. Anything to get the kids back in the library after, you know, Lincoln’s revenge…
Emily: Thanks, Sammy. Goodnight, guys.
Ben: Hey- hey, Emily?

His hour-long lunch break has just started and he’s glad to get away from Mister Ibex’s office. He likes his boss just fine, but the closer it gets to Quidditch season, the more irate he gets about everyone doing their jobs wrong - except you, Credence, he always adds kindly - and he uses his lunch breaks to escape. nevertheless (i’m in love with you) (Credence/Graves) It’s a week before Halloween in Ilvermorny and the castle already has a colony of live bats living on the ceiling in the Great Hall. Their droppings are thankfully charmed to disappear through a barrier a few feet below them but Percy Graves finds them irritating when they start to fly around in cloud-like formations. ain’t no man righteous, no not one (Credence/Graves) Credence gets the message from a Patronus while he’s sitting in bed, reading a book, to come downstairs because there’s work for him. 5 Reasons You Should Be Watching Legacies
October is, just objectively, the best month of the year. Exhibit A: Golden autumn leaves. Exhibit B: All things apple. Exhibit C: This gif. Exhibit D: Witches. Like, it’s just science.
Around these parts, though, the best best thing about October is, of course, the television. Yes, I’m talking spooky, kooky Halloween specials—love a good Halloween special—but also I’m talking fall premieres. Specifically, I’m talking The CW’s fall premieres, which have been landing in mid-October (later than most other broadcast networks) since at least the first season of Arrow.
This fall, the teen-skewing network’s biggest draws are, arguably, the series debuts of Batwoman (October 6th) and Nancy Drew (October 9th), and the final season bows of Arrow (October 15th) and Supernatural (October 10th). But while I’m professionally interested in seeing how all those premieres play out, the CW joint I’m most personally invested in getting back on my screen (also October 10th!) is Julie Plec’s supernatural boarding school double-spin-off teen drama series, Legacies.
Friends—you should be watching Legacies. I know there’s a lot of television out there, but really and truly, if you like television that likes being television (more on that in a minute), Legacies is absolutely worth tuning in to. Why? Well, let me just count the reasons:
1. You don’t have to do any television homework to join the fun.
Yes, TECHNICALLY Legacies is a hybrid spin-off of two different long-running Julie Plec series, The Vampire Diaries (eight seasons) and The Originals (five), and sure, technically it was in those series that the mythology driving the character arcs/motivations of Legacies’ most central leads, Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell) and Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis), was developed. After spending a cumulative thirteen seasons not just telling stories on television, but telling stories on television from this specific world, Plec’s ability to set efficient narrative groundwork under fast-moving vampire feet is nothing if not masterful. Genuinely, aside from a few single-episode cameos of side characters from Hope and Alaric’s TVD/Originals past, the only thing you need to watch to make sense of Legacies is this official promo for the first season:
youtube
…and honestly, most of that soliloquy, plus much more, is folded into the cold open of the series premiere, “This is the Part Where You Run,” which uses new lead Landon Kirby (Aria Shahghasemi) as audience avatar as he gets introduced to this particular supernatural world for the first time.
2. Two words: Julie. Plec.
That said, if you are familiar with Legacies’ double, er, legacy, you’ll get a kick out of how precisely Plec has taken her signature whip-fast storytelling and fitted it to a breezier, more “teen” setting, and how deftly she manages to weave in both key characters and core emotional beats from both her previous series.
The most obvious example of all of this is Matthew Davis’ Alaric Saltzman, who became such a fan favorite during his time as vengeful-vampire-hunter-turned-loyal-teen-vampire guardian-turned-rogue-vampire’s-best-friend on The Vampire Diaries that not only did Plec resurrect him from the (very truly) dead to keep Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) on the straight and narrow, but she then brought him on as co-lead of this series to do the same for every supernatural teen in the contiguous United States. Now, as both father to a pair of Gemini twin witches (Kaylee Bryant and Jenny Boyd) and mentor/father-figure to Hope, the teen witch-vampire-werewolf tribrid with a hero complex, Alaric gets to flex all the emotional muscles TVD fans know and love. Plus, as the Salvatore School’s headmaster, he also gets to take charge of the dramatic supernatural research and heroic (and/or chaotic) supernatural missions that are key to a Plec series’ fast-paced success. Beyond all of that, though, in positioning him as the central human adult foil to a whole pile of supernatural teen protagonists, Plec has also found a way to let him be funny, bringing a uniquely fun dynamic to the fast-moving monster drama of the TVD universe that hasn’t always gotten such pride of place.
In other words: Julie Plec, still running wild supernatural stories turned up way past 11.
3. Three words: Supernatural. Boarding. School.
One more time, in case that didn’t sink it: Supernatural. Boarding. School.
I really shouldn’t have to elaborate on this, but Legacies is set at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted, which is the school for young witches, werewolves, vampires, and Hope that was funded by Hope’s (dead) dad and is located at/on the Salvatore family’s Virginia estate, just outside Mystic Falls. All the moody opulence of Damon and Stefan’s TVD homebase, all the zingy, angsty tropes of great Teen TV.
More than just being a fun setting, though, the Salvatore School gives Legacies a chance to sprawl out and complicate the consequences of being a teenager consigned to eternity as part of the supernatural world. These consequences are still very real and very serious in Legacies, but while The Vampire Diaries mined dramatic tension from supernatural teens (or at least vampires who looked superficially like teens) living in dangerous proximity to human teens, its kid sibling series looks inside for its tension. The teens at the story’s core need, first and foremost, to find a way to come to terms with their own inhumanity, and what it means to be good as they define it. And honestly, after so many years of TVD stories focused on the former, spending time with a bunch of super compelling, super different supernatural kids working through the latter is just a treat.
4. A diverse cast and diverse stories
This leads directly into a key update to the TVD legacy: With such a sprawling cast of teen characters brought to the Salvatore School from all walks of life and corners of the country, Legacies gets to improve on one of the original series’ greatest weaknesses: A lack of diversity. While both Alaric and the three central female characters of Legacies—all carried over from the previous series—are still white, the characters that round out the rest of the new series’ core cast are not. On the adult side, Alaric is joined by faculty members Dorian Williams (Demetrius Bridges) and Emma Tig (Karen David), while on the teen side, Hope, Josie and Lizzie are joined by softie vampire MG (Quincy Fouse), activist vampire Kaleb (Chris Lee), reluctant alpha werewolf Rafael (Peyton “Alex” Smith), ex-alpha werewolf Jed (Ben Levin), bad girl with Penelope (Lulu Antariksa), and the audience avatar/mystery box supernatural mentioned above, Landon Kirby (Aria Shahghasemi). Nor is racial diversity the only benchmark hit with this large cast. In terms of queer representation, Josie is bi, with Penelope her ex/possible future girlfriend; in terms of class representation, Rafael and Landon are foster brothers who both have dark histories with the system.
Importantly, none of these measures of diversity are included just for show. Each character’s identity and background are as key to who they are within the heightened emotional context of the boarding school as their individual supernatural abilities. Kaleb’s experience as a young black man (and vampire) is markedly different from MG’s, which is markedly different from Dorian’s (who, to be fair, is also not a vampire). Josie and Penelope’s relationship is informed by their strengths (and weaknesses) as witches, and further informs how they each approach solving problems both social and magical. Landon and Rafael’s history, as thrown away kids whose only shelter was each other, drives every decision they make. That diverse identities should inform characters in these ways isn’t a surprise; that Legacies is embracing them all now after so many seasons of its parent series falling short is, if not surprising, then at least worth taking note of.
5. Finally: Legacies totally knows it’s a TV show.
This seems self-evident, but as pop culture critic Grace Robertson so sharply observed earlier this year in her essay “Let TV Be TV” (like, literally; the heading above is a direct quote), the best trick Legacies pulls isn’t even a trick. It’s just being good at being entertaining, episodic television.
In an era where a TV show can be anything from thirteen thirty-minute episodes (pick literally any prestige comedy) to dozens upon dozens of bite-sized Facebook posts (SKAM Austin) to an 18-hour art film (Twin Peaks: The Return), defining just what counts as television is practically a professional sport. Well, it’s a sport Legacies isn’t interested in playing. With both its new-to-the-TVD-verse Monster of the Week mode of storytelling and the Salvatore School as its comfortable, “fixed point” setting, Plec is even better at framing episodic stories than she was in her already rollicking previous series. In a television landscape so full of cinematic innovation, the freedom this old school “status quo” television model gives Legacies is, as Robertson notes, a huge relief.
So, yes: Legacies knows it’s a TV show, and it knows it’s a fun one. With the short first season currently streaming on Netflix, there is literally no better time to jump on the Legacies bandwagon than now. And I know it’s one I can’t wait to have back in my weekly rotation. All hail October.
Legacies Season Two premieres Thursday, October 10th on The CW.

Moonlight (M)
Pairing: Werewolf!Jimin x reader
Genre: Smut, fluff, maybe a lil angst idk
Summary: It’s Halloween and also the first full moon you’ve experienced since you were bitten.
Warnings: dom!Jimin, sub!Reader, dirty talk, use of the word “bitch”, knotting, slight impreg kink
Word count: 12,360
A/N: It’s still Halloween where I live so technically it’s not late 🤷🏽♀️🎃
Prompt #51: “The full moon is out tonight. You know what that means.”
You rest your chin in the palm of your hand, pouting up at your friend Jiwoo as she stands at the head of the large table.
“Okay everyone, let’s go over the plans for next week,” She announces, uncapping her pen excitedly. She stands in front of a dry erase board with everyone’s names written on it, beginning her presentation immediately. “This has to be the biggest and greatest party ever thrown, you hear me? And greatness takes time, that’s why we have to start getting ready for it now, so I need everyone to listen.”
“We’ve only been preparing for a whole month and a half.” Jooheon mumbles sarcastically with a roll of his eyes. Jiwoo catches this and addresses him.
“I like to plan ahead,” She replies in a sweet voice. “Not everyone is an unorganized, lazy procrastinator like you, sweetheart.”
He scoffs as she continues, starting to list off names and what job everyone is assigned to. Food, drinks, decoration, costume ideas, theme management (whatever that was), getting approval from neighbors, music, etc. You’re only half listening when she calls your name, assigning you to the role of the hype person. You were responsible for handing out fliers and invitations to as many people as possible and making sure everyone knew how great this party was. After all, Halloween is not only spooky season, but also party season and you were sure to be competing with various groups of people for party guests. Your best friend Halin was also assigned to this job and she easily accepts.
“I’ll be in charge of the social media advertising, (Y/n) can handle fliers and invitations.” She announces, tweeting a photo of one of the fliers before handing the stack to you.
“I don’t know why you want me to be the publicist, I know the least amount of people out of all of us.” You huff. It was true, you’ve always kept a small friend group that you kept close to you, never really straying too far from those people, especially since you met Jimin and his pack.
You’ve been with Jimin for a while now. You first met him a little over a year ago, found out he and his friends were werewolves 9 months ago, started dating him 6 months ago, and moved in with him 4 months ago. Oh, and did I mention that sometime within the last month he bit you accidentally on purpose, turning you into a werewolf as well? In all fairness, you asked for it. When you first started dating, you begged him to change you because you “wanted to be like them”. You hated being the boring human living in a house of wolves who lived a completely different lifestyle than you. It’s not like your human self was anything special in the first place. You explained to him that you’ve thought about it long and hard and that you wanted it, but he still refused, claiming that he didn’t want to change your normal way of life irreversibly; to which you responded that your life hasn’t been “normal” since you met him and got involved with his pack. For months you pleaded with him, until one night he finally changed his mind, biting you when you least expected it while in the consuming depths of pleasure. “That way it wouldn’t hurt so bad,” Jimin explained afterward, licking at the bleeding wound. The transformation was a slow learning experience for you and the pack, none of you knew what would happen when a human was bitten, but it’s been a month and you’re just now starting to see the effects.
For one thing, you’re a lot more aware of your surroundings. You hear and see a thousand times better than you did before, although still not as well as your wolf friends, are a lot stronger and faster than before, and on occasion you really crave rare cooked steak. Physically, you haven’t changed much, except for the shift in color of your irises, turning an even more vibrant shade of the color they were before. Of course you claimed to your friends that they were contacts when they first noticed, immediately going out to buy actual contacts to bring them back to their original color. Jimin said that you may feel more impulsive or aggressive now, but so far the worst that’s happened is that you’ve lashed out on an annoying stranger on the street one day. Oh, and the whole first week after you were bitten when you couldn’t keep your hands off of Jimin. Your sexual desire was so strong that he kept you in the manor until he was sure you wouldn’t rip off your clothes and jump him in public. He entertained your lust a few times, but for the most part he maintained his self control, watching you intently as you pranced around the house naked, trying to entice him with your body whenever you were alone and getting super possessive whenever anyone went near him, male or female. But you were over it now. For the most part.
“You don’t need to know a lot of people to hand out fliers.” Jiwoo states flatly. “All you have to do is walk around and tell people about the party. Find people our age, look for groups, that type of thing.” She says with a shrug. “I believe in you.”
Hesitating, you grab the fliers and lean back in your seat, zoning out again. It’s hard not to be nervous to bring up the party to Namjoon, your pack’s Alpha male. Although he has a heart of gold, he’s still very strict and isn’t afraid to put any members of the pack back in their place. And now that you’re officially a member, his power over you is indisputable. Anything he says goes.
You remember when you first told him Jimin bit you, although you got the feeling he could sense it right when you walked into the room. Both of you sat as he stood over you, assuming his dominant position above you as unnecessary apologies escaped your lips. He just smiled his beautiful dimply smile and reassured you that everything was okay and that the pack would gladly accept you as its newest member, especially since you were already living with them and were so close to everyone. You remember him lecturing you on how important it was for you to be more reserved now that you were also a werewolf and will start experiencing various changes.
“Of course you can still go out in public, hang out with people, just make sure to keep yourself unnoticeable. You might need to buy some contacts,” He states, taking note of your eye color. “But as long as you keep your canines away, everything should be fine.” Were those supposed to come in? You had yet to find out.
When he told you that you had to keep a smaller group of friends, you sunk in your seat. Not only did that mean that you couldn’t expand and befriend new people, but it also implied that you might even have to drop some friends and become more distant from the ones you were close to.
Seeing you deflate a bit, Namjoon hurries to lift your spirit. “I’m not saying you have to go into hiding, just be cautious. You don’t have to drop all of your friends, it’s just that the less people there are around you, the less chance there is for people to find out about us.” His logic made sense, of course it did, that’s one of the reasons he was the alpha. You know he’ll think about every situation thoroughly and have the clearest judgement, but that’s also why you were scared to bring up the party.
“Hey, what’s on your mind?” Halin asks, scooting her chair closer to yours while the meeting continues in the background.
“Huh?” You snap out of your thoughts at the sound of your best friend’s voice, eyes focusing on her face. She raises her eyebrow and it prompts you finally to respond. “Oh, it’s just, uh,” How do you say this out loud? “I’m just worried Namjoon won’t let me go to the party because of...” Tilting your head, her eyes drop to the faint bite imprint that has healed nicely, the scar 100% Jimin’s non-replicable mark on you that claims you as his mate.
“Really? He’s pretty chill, I’m sure he’ll let you go.” As the only person who knows about werewolves and your current situation, Halin is the only person you can confide in with your concerns and really anything personal. She found out about Jimin’s pack the same time you did, both of you witnessing their transformations accidentally and sharing the horrifying moment when you thought your lives were about to end. But somehow you were spared by their kind leader and trusted with the heavy knowledge of their supernatural existence.
Even though Halin is a part of the in-group with you and the wolves, she’s not nearly as connected to them as you are. She doesn’t spend as much time with them, doesn’t date any of them, and refused to live in their manor with you when offered the chance. She just had too much that she would be leaving behind in the outside world, too many people who would start asking questions; unlike you who had few connections and uncaring parents who rarely asked about your whereabouts. So she let you immerse yourself in their life style and promised to keep you connected to the human world. She was your cover when you or the boys start acting strange around everyone, without her, they would have been discovered long ago.
“I don’t know... something makes me think Joon won’t want me out at night around a lot of people. He’s really protective of me, especially now.” You fiddle with the hem of your jacket nervously as you think of the possible rejection.
“C’mon, it’s not like you’ll be alone. You’ll be in an enclosed space, around a bunch of people, under the cover of darkness and costumes so no one will think you’re being weird or anything, I’ll be there, it’s a perfectly safe environment. What could go wrong?” Halin leans back in her seat in silent confidence and you let go of the subject to focus on the rest of the meeting again.
“Absolutely not. I’m sorry but that’s the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.” Namjoon says, nearly laughing in disbelief. You sink in your place, shoulders moving from their tensed, anxious position to slump forward in disappointment. “So let me get this straight: you want to attend a party in an enclosed building with limited and few exits and private spaces, filled to the brim with people in costumes who will probably be drinking more than they can handle, on one of the most hectic nights of the year for our kind?”
“Well, when you put it that way it doesn’t seem as fun.” You mumble, refusing to lift your eyes up to the alpha.
“Not to mention the loud music, flashing lights, and claustrophobia. What happens if you get overwhelmed? We don’t even know to what extent you’ve changed and how that’ll have an effect on you, especially in public. I’m sorry, (Y/n), but every worst case scenario is running through my head right now and I can’t be responsible for letting you go to that party. God forbid, you hurt yourself or someone else.” He stares at you as you let his words sink in, and although his tone was gentle, you couldn’t help but feel intimidated. Namjoon has explained his case— quite clearly at that— and it was obvious that you would not be going to the party.
“I-I know, I’m sorry for asking.” You’re not going to argue with him, there’s no way you could. You don’t even know what your limits are and a situation like that is not the best time to test them. Your face heats up in embarrassment, you knew this would be his response, but you let Halin convince you otherwise and now you’ve just made a fool of yourself. A part of you wishes Jimin were here to comfort you, his presence is always calming, but you didn’t want him to know you were planning on going out without him because he would have probably said the same thing as Namjoon.
“But,” The leader’s voice sounds, an exasperated sigh of compromise following the word. “If it’s your friends’ party and they’re all expecting you to help out, I wouldn’t say no to letting you go early to help set up.”
“Really?” You perk up immediately, eyes bright with hope.
“Yes, but I want you back here before it starts.” With your cooperation, Namjoon let’s you go and you leave his office with a giddy hop, skipping through the empty halls of the mansion and almost bumping into Jungkook, the youngest of the pack.
He stops you abruptly with his hands on your arms when you nearly knock him over— well, knock yourself over on his sturdy form— and you pause to look up at him, then resume bouncing in place excitedly.
“Woah, what’s going on?” The young one asks, your excitement contagiously latching onto him.
“Can you keep a secret?” You whisper, leaning in close. Jungkook was like your best friend out of all of the other wolves and his childlike innocence drew you in, almost like a cute little puppy. He nods at your question. “There’s this Halloween party next week and Namjoon just gave me the okay to go!”
“He did? He’s never let any of us go to parties before.” He pouts, a bit skeptical.
“Well, he didn’t exactly say I could go, but he said I’m allowed to help set up before the party.” Jungkook laughs at your reply and ruffles your hair a bit, continuing his path and silently urging you to follow, which you do.
“That’s not the same thing.” He grins, glancing down at you.
“Yeah, but I haven’t been out in so long. I just really don’t want to be stuck here on Halloween this year.”
“Why, what’s wrong with spending time with your new pack?” He asks with wide puppy eyes, a fake look of hurt on his face.
“What do you guys usually do on Halloween?”
“Binge watch scary movies and laugh at how terrible they are.” He shrugs nonchalantly and you crinkle your nose. That was definitely not how you wanted to spend your spooky day, especially since there was a perfectly good party you could be attending, even if it was only for a little while.
You and Jungkook continue to walk through the long winding halls of your home, decorated with redwood flooring and dark painted walls. Despite its old age, the mansion somehow keeps an updated look, the antiques blending in perfectly with the more modern furniture and artwork hung around the many large rooms. The enormity of the building can be a bit overwhelming at times, it’s high ceilings and tall door frames making everything look so much bigger and more complex than it actually is. When you first started hanging out here, you would get lost all the time and rarely left Jimin’s side in fear that you would never find your way out on your own, but eventually you became comfortable with the space. The other two females of the pack, mysterious women who were traded by a rival pack in exchange for peace, welcomed you warmly when you moved in. They showed you the layout of the place and shortcuts to help you get around, even giving you some hints on how to find the other members when you were feeling lonely— tricks that you could only use once you were bitten due to your enhanced senses. Jimin and Jungkook helped you adjust a lot too. Setting up labels and maps in commonly traveled areas until you finally learned most or all of the house you would be living in. But you still stayed with Jimin every chance you got, the two of you were practically inseparable.
When you and the young wolf reach the common area, you hear the front doors open followed by the sound of heavy bodies padding through the entrance, which you easily identify as Jimin and Hoseok before you can even see them. Your senses sharpen at your mate’s arrival and you jog ahead to meet him, turning the corner to be met with a gorgeous wolf with shining eyes, his gray-brown fur looking fluffy yet sleek on his muscled figure. The tail at his rear flicks quickly before the wolf transforms into an even more beautiful man, already fully clothed, but dirty from the forest that was just ventured.
You never were able to wrap your head around how they managed to stay clothed. One night, Jimin tried to explain it to you while you were cuddling in bed. Apparently it had something to do with the magic that his kind possessed, preserving his human during transformations, but you could never fully understand. It was just one of the mysteries of the supernatural and you were fine with settling on the answer ‘it’s magic’ and a kiss on the forehead from your loving boyfriend.
“Honey, we’re home!” Hobi happily announces to the house, heard by everyone in the building but still largely ignored.
“Hey, jagiya.” Jimin greets, a huge grin playing on his lips as he wipes away sweat from his forehead.
“Wipe your feet, you dirty heathens.” You hear Yoongi shout from his spot on the couch in the next room just as his pack-mates were about to step off the long foot mat with their muddy feet.
“Okay, grandpa.” They both roll their eyes and you catch Yoongi’s satisfied hum as he listens to them drag their feet along the the surface until they’re clean enough to walk on the hardwood.
“How was your run?” You wrap your arms around Jimin’s neck and look up at him lovingly, and smiling brightly when he does the same.
“Refreshing.” He answers simply with an equally toothy grin. “We hunted a little, checked our borders, nothing special, but it felt so good to shift after so long.”
He takes you in his arms, lifting you up just high enough so your feet were off the ground and he could walk the two of you deeper into his home. Plopping onto one of the couches in the living room, you drop onto his lap, legs to one side of him and arms still circled around his neck.
“Why don’t you ever take me out with you?” You whine, pouting cutely.
“You know I don’t feel comfortable with you being exposed like that. It’s very dangerous outside, especially at night with other packs so close to us. I can protect you, but I don’t want to put you in danger in the first place, if I can help it.” He tells you this gently, though its direct, an outplayed topic that you already knew the answer to but still liked to ask just in case he ever changed his mind. He changed his mind about biting you and that turned out alright. Looking you over, his gaze lands on your bold eye color, the flecks of gold in them making you look ethereal. “Maybe eventually, when we know more about your new self.” You know he’s talking about you gaining control over your newfound power. You’re still not even sure if you’re fully transformed yet or if you even have a wolf— nothing about werewolves is a slow process, so everyone is still surprised and perplexed about how long it’s taking for everything to come in. You don’t even have canines yet, a distinct feature of a werewolf that you should have by now. Namjoon has been doing some research, but there’s still a lot to learn.
“Okay,” You accept, his answer expected. “I just missed you a lot.” Cuddling into his chest, you allow him to wrap his arms around your waist and nuzzle into your neck.
“I missed you first.” He whispers. “You left me alone all day.” Something you learned pretty quickly about Jimin is that he is very protective of you. He doesn’t like when you go places without him for extended periods of time, and this feeling only got stronger after he bit you. When you’re uncomfortable, he’s uncomfortable, so he tries to shelter you as much as possible, which the timid and introverted part of you is fine with. But the defiant side of you does not appreciate it so much, hating how it feels like you’re always being kept on a tight leash by him.
“I was with Halin, I have other friends outside of this pack.” You laugh, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.
“I know.” He says, his plump bottom lip jutting out and you lean up to kiss his pout away.
PDA wasn’t something you liked before you and Jimin started dating. You didn’t feel comfortable with people seeing you be overly affectionate in public, and you guess it was because of your shy nature, but ever since you’ve become a part of his pack, you’re completely fine with being all over Jimin in public. Part of it could be because werewolves don’t find it odd to be loving with their mate in front of others, so they never frowned upon it when Jimin would decide to make out with you in the middle of everyone. But you and Jimin are nowhere near as open as the couple sitting on the loveseat across from you, Yoongi and his mate Yebin, one of the females from the rival pack who had captured the heart of the beta. It seems like they’re always on the brink of ripping each other’s clothes off, just like they’re practically connected right now. It doesn’t help that Yoongi is already shameless as is. Werewolves are even accepting of the natural process of sex, specifically when one of them is in heat— once you were cooking with Jin and he brought you along to drop off the meals to the members that were still in their rooms, including bringing a whole tray full of meat and water bottles to Taehyung’s room where he and his mate, the other rival female, were fucking recklessly during his heat, paying no attention to the male who walked in casually and sat down the tray at a far end of the room, being sure to keep his distance as not to aggravate Taehyung. Everyone involved seemed unbothered while you stood with a reddened face and dropped jaw in the hallway. Of course, that was before you were also a wolf and went on a sex crazed spree for a week.
“Come here, I wanna show you something.” Jimin pulls away suddenly and you raise your eyebrow at him, curious. His arms drop from your waist, prompting you to move from his lap so he can stand and he grabs your hand and laces your fingers, pulling you out of the room and through the manor, winding through the halls, climbing stairs, entering unused doors, until you’re lost again and have no idea where you are. This is certainly a place you’ve never been before.
“Where are we going?” Your curiosity gets the best of you and you break the silence, only to receive an even more confusing smirk from him. Eventually, you reach a ladder and he lets go of your hand to ascend, opening a hatch on the ceiling and gesturing down to you for you to follow. He offers his hand, pulling you up the rest of the way until you’re both standing on a random section of the roof. His fingers twine with yours again and he holds on tightly as he walks gingerly on the shingles until he reaches a spot that he’s satisfied with and he sits down, pulling you along with him.
“Have you ever been on the roof before?” He places your tangled fingers on his lap as you look around in awe.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been on the roof of anything.” You state, taking in your surroundings. You can see far and wide, far past your boarders of the forest and even all the way into the small town from which you originate, it’s lights looking like dim fallen stars. But the actual stars in the sky take your breath away. You’ve never seen the night sky look so clear, not a cloud in sight and the stars shining almost as brightly as the moon. The cool autumn breeze blows by and rustles the leaves around you, but Jimin can only notice the way your hair blows around your face, the red apples of your cheeks seeming to glow in the moonlight, and his hand reaches up to move away the stray stands before he can stop himself. When you turn to look at him again, he smiles endearingly.
“Well now you have.” You both giggle. “I used to come up here all the time when we first met. I would just sit here and stare at the lights over there,” You follow his finger with your eyes back to the town in the distance. “Wondering where you were, what you were doing, if you were safe. If you were thinking about me. I thought it wasn’t fair that I was always thinking about you, but I didn’t know if you thought about me the same way. And when you found out about what I am... I was terrified. I was afraid of what might happen to you and Halin because you aren’t supposed to know about my kind, Namjoon could have easily killed you. And when he didn’t, I worried even more about what you would think about me and if you would be scared whenever you saw me. That was my worst fear.”
You stare at him in awe at his confession. Something flickers in his eyes when he pauses, then Jimin pulls you in front of him between his legs to lean against his firm chest so he can wrap his arms around you tightly. He holds you as if you would fall off the roof if the wind blew too hard, protecting you from the world that you observed from above. Jimin is a beta wolf, he’s strong and has the qualities to succeed Namjoon as the alpha one day. He only bows down to their leader and is very dominant in every way, showing few emotions on his handsome face, but you seem to be his only weakness, the only one to make his cold exterior melt into the warm, passionate, and loving boyfriend that you’ve come to know him to be.
“But you accepted us and stayed, wanted to be a part of our world even though you knew it was dangerous. You loved me for who I was and didn’t run when I told you I wanted you to be my mate...” His rambling trails off and there are a few moments of silence. But it’s not the awkward silence that consumes the air and makes it thick, suffocating. It’s light and comfy, both of your minds swimming with thoughts. Jimin soon breaks it, though. “Do you trust me?”
There’s a moment of shock from you as you feel him tense slightly behind you, breath almost still in his chest.
“Would I have let you mark me if I didn’t?” You retort with a chuckle, trying to lighten the mood slightly to get him to relax. It works, to an extent.
“Yeah, I guess that’s true.” He’s still a bit tense and you can feel the weight of his thoughts in the tight hold of his arms. Turning, you cup his face in your hands and force him to look at you.
“Yes Jimin, I trust you.” With your heart and your life.
“I’m sorry for coddling you, I know I seem a bit overprotective at times and I don’t mean to make you feel like a baby.” He apologizes gently, a crease forming between his eyebrows. “It’s just... I can feel when you’re uncomfortable. When you’re anxious. And it makes me want to protect you from everything, even if it’s not a threat. Our emotions are more connected now that you’re officially my mate, and my instincts go wild when you’re feeling anything remotely negative. I’m trying my hardest to get this under control, so please be patient with me, it’s a learning process for me too.”
“I understand,” You say, sweetly kissing the dent between his brows. “I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone a lot and I guess I should apologize for that. I didn’t know how it made you feel.”
“I’ll try not to worry so much, you’re your own person and you should be able to do whatever you want without needing my permission.” He looks at you with soft eyes and you debate whether or not you should tell him about the party. You aren’t going, of course, you’ll just be there to help set up, but he still might want to know about it. But then you think of how he’ll probably want to go with you to keep watch over you for nonexistent threats, and you decide against it. He just said you don’t need his permission, so this shouldn’t be a big deal. Having nothing to say, you instead reply with a smile and a kiss, cuddling with him in silence, watching the landscape until it gets a little too cold and you both retire to bed.
The following week goes by fast, you go out everyday to hand out fliers to strangers and to hang out with Halin around town during her lunch breaks. She talks your ear off with rants about how Jiwoo keeps stressing over the party and how her job won’t give her the day off on the Friday of Halloween, but you listen intently to everything she says and even find it relaxing to hear about her struggles. A few times she asks about if Namjoon has changed his mind, either about letting you help set up or about you not being allowed to stay for the party, and each time you say no. Honestly, you haven’t asked. He was reasonable and most likely right about what you could handle, so you wanted to respect his advice and warnings and not stress yourself out too much. But the more Halin talked about how cute her costume is, who was going to be there, how much fun it was going to be and how much she’ll miss you the whole night, the more you thought about disobeying the alpha and staying for the party, even if just for a little while. You told her that Jimin didn’t even know about it and that you didn’t intend on telling him the details, but that Jungkook was aware of it and had even snuck a flier from you, so if anything were to happen, he was the safety net.
Halloween approached faster than expected and before you knew it, you were gathered in the living room with the pack, receiving a lecture from Namjoon.
“Alright, lets get this over with.” The alpha sighs, looking at each of your faces. “Just like every year, I’m not going to stop anyone from going out tonight if that’s what you want. But please note that there will be a lot more people on the streets, especially children, so please be cautious and aware of your actions if you do choose to leave our borders. Aside from that, we’ll be having our annual movie marathon, this time it’s Hoseok’s turn to pick the movies.” There’s a collective groan that sounds around the room and Hoseok rolls his eyes.
“Whatever, I have good taste.” His lips form a cute shape that only he can produce and you just want to squish his puffy cheeks.
“You always pick lame movies. There’s so many good ones out there and you have yet to choose one of them.” Taehyung frowns, giving the older wolf a strong side eye of irritation.
Taehyung, Jimin, and Yoongi are the Betas of the pack, strong-minded and often a bit rough around the edges when interacting with the others, yet most of the time it’s all in good fun and they never truly intend to be mean. Being the Omegas, Jin, Jungkook, and Hobi are most often picked on, but they’re known for their playful, childlike qualities. In your opinion, Jungkook doesn’t really have an Omega personality aside from his innocence and tendency to joke around with Jin a lot, but his aggression, physical athleticism, and quick reflexes probably will earn him the status of Beta one day if he keeps up the good work. Yebin and Insook, the two other females of the pack are of different rankings; Yebin (Yoongi’s mate) being an Omega, and Insook (Taehyung’s mate) a Beta. They hold everyone together, talk sense into the males when they’re being irrational, do majority of the hunting, and protect the manor when the males go away to check borders. They’re both very sweet, but you find that Yebin is more quiet and submissive than Insook, which you guess in in her nature. Insook has been known as the pack’s mother in a way since she is always disciplining the Omegas and taking up responsibilities. But for some reason, they respect you far more than you expected, Insook even asking for your approval on various occasions since you’ve been bitten, and you wonder if your wolf will be a Beta in the pack, or even a sort of Alpha female, at least amongst the other females if that was possible. You try not to think about it too much.
“Well, you guys always pick ones that are too scary for me. Then me and Jin don’t enjoy ourselves and you tease us about it.” Hobi whines, folding his arms.
“Taehyung, you got to choose last time, give him a chance.” Insook glances at him from her spot beside him and He mumbles under his breath for being scolded, but he doesn’t move his arm from around her shoulders.
“I’ll make the snacks! I just bought some really cute Halloween themed baking decorations and I can’t wait to use them.” Jin obsesses, thinking about all the pastries and snacks he could make.
“Okay, I want everyone back home before the moon rises, preferably before dark. The full moon is out tonight. You know what that means.” He doesn’t have to explain what happens during full moons, everyone already knows, and they nod in acknowledgement of his request. You nod, but there’s a small voice in the back of your head convincing you that this doesn’t apply to you. You’re not a full werewolf yet, so there’s no need to worry, right? Only full wolves feel the effects of a full moon. At least that’s what you tell yourself. “I can’t stress this enough, please be safe.” Namjoon closes with this and dismisses everyone, it’s about noon so they all go their separate ways, including Jimin, who promised to go to the store with Hobi to get some last minute movie night things.
“I’ll be back later, just call me if you need anything.” He says to you on his way out of the door, offering you a small peck on the lips as he exits.
“You still going out tonight?” Jungkook approaches you with a grin, showing off his sharpened canines that have already started to grow.
“Shhhhhh!” You hold a finger over his mouth and look around anxiously, listening for Jimin to exit the house and waiting until he is out of earshot. “Be quieter.”
“You haven’t told him yet? He’s gonna worry if you don’t tell him where you’re going.” Jungkook pushes your hand out of the way, but gives you his soft, wide-eyed look.
“I know, but he hasn’t asked me. I told him I was hanging out with Halin today and he barely questioned it. I think it’s because he feels like he’s coddling me a bit and is trying to back off, so I won’t tell him if he doesn’t want to know. I know he’ll probably just ask to tag along anyway.” You didn’t mean for it to sound like you didn’t want Jimin with you. Of course you did. But you also wanted a little independence, freedom. You rarely go out without him, it was almost as if he was your personal bodyguard or something, but sometimes you just need to do things on your own. And Jimin respects that, so that’s why he won’t intervene in your plans tonight, as long as you’re safe. “Plus, you know where I’m going so if anything goes wrong, I’ll just call you.”
“Okay, I guess.” Despite the uneasy feeling Jungkook gets from the situation, he agrees. It seems like you’ve got it all figured out and he’ll also respect your capability in protecting yourself. At least someone knows.
“(Y/n),” Namjoon comes up behind you and you both turn to look at the leader. “I need talk with you for a moment.” He motions for you to follow him out of the room and you trail him quickly, glancing back at your friend as he looks on. Hopefully you won’t get your privileges revoked at the last minute.
“Is there something wrong?” You ask nervously, hands clasped together in silent prayer.
“No, but I want you to know the risks of going out tonight. I completely trust you and I don’t find it necessary to keep you locked up here if you don’t want to be. I just want you to make sure that you understand why you need to be cautious.” With a nod of affirmation from you, he proceeds. “You’re different now, you won’t perceive things the same way and sometimes that can be scary. Be aware of your surroundings and try to stick to your comfort zone as much as possible. Full moons are times when our senses enhance by 10 times, so we usually stay here, or at least within our borders to prevent anything unexpected from happening. We don’t know how you’ll be affected by it, but I read up on some old books and they say that you might experience added aggression, irritability, high anxiety, sensitivity to outside stimuli, as well as intense alertness and even paranoia.”
“Wow, you sound like a commercial for heart medication.” You mumble, both of you chuckling slightly at the comment before Namjoon straightens up again.
“I’m serious. Just... be careful. Don’t put yourself in stressful situations if you don’t have to and make sure you’re back before the moon comes out. It’s usually not up fully until an hour after sunset, plan accordingly.”
“Okay, I will.” You nod again, receiving a long stare from him as he searches your eyes, before he finally nods back and allows you to go.
You spend the rest of the time before the party getting your costume ready and doing your makeup. You weren’t going to actually be at the party, but you still wanted to dress up and get in the spirit. Halin told you that she would meet you at the edge of the woods at your usual spot to pick you up in about a half hour, and you rush to finish everything before you have to leave. Even though Jimin didn’t ask for you to do this, you still ask Jungkook to escort you out of the woods, a job that your boyfriend is usually glad to do, because you know that it is what he wants. You could make it through on your own, you’ve travelled the path more times than you could count, but it was just safer and easier to have someone with you. When it’s time to leave, the young wolf shifts and let’s you ride on his back until you reach the border of the trees where he drops you off and tells you to give him a call when you’re ready to come back.
“You look so good!” You tell your best friend again as you help decorate the building.
“Do I look as sexy as I feel?” She asks, jutting out her hip.
“Sexiest fairy I’ve ever seen.” You wink at her, smiling when she does a twirl, showing off all the glitter and sparkles adorning her skin and fake translucent wings. Her skimpy outfit shows off a generous amount of skin and you’re a little jealous of how confident she is to be able to go out in something like that. Your costume is a little more modest (just slightly): you’re dressed as a werewolf of sorts, complete with a plaid crop top and bright blue high waisted shorts, topped off with ripped fishnets, boots with a heel, clip on ears and matching furry cufflinks for effect. Your makeup outlines your face sharply and gives the impression of a snout, your painted dog nose seeming to pop out. You didn’t know what else to dress up as, so naturally this was your go to idea. Jungkook laughed at your outfit at first, saying that he couldn’t even tell what you were supposed to be, but you quickly set him straight by telling him that it wasn’t supposed to be an accurate representation. Initially you bought a matching tail, but he advised you that it was too much so you scrapped it.
“You both look so cute!” Jiwoo comes up beside the two of you and sets down a plate of freshly made snacks in the shape of skulls and witch’s cauldrons. “I especially love the eye color, (Y/n).”
Your smile falters for a second when you remember your forgotten contacts, but you play it off since it goes with the theme. You thank her and resume working, arranging cups and plates, hanging things from the ceiling, and covering light bulbs with colored tissue paper to make everything that much more spooky. Proud of your work, you go over to your other friends to see if there was anything you could help with.
“Uh, yeah, we need to move a few of these sofas into that room over there, this is going to be the dance floor.” Jooheon directs as he focuses on hooking up the speakers and DJ booth.
Complying, you walk over and grab one of the arms of the large couch, pulling it with ease across the floor, then lifting it when you find that it was leaving marks on the tile. You repeat the process with the other sofa and return to find Jooheon and two others looking at you with confused and shocked faces.
“Did you just lift those by yourself?” One of them asks, bringing your attention to the strength you were supposed to be hiding. Your eyes widen and you freeze, momentarily stunned.
Seeing this, Halin jumps into action and comes out of the room behind you, coming to stand next to you while stretching her back.
“Pfft, no, Halin helped me move them.” You recover quickly glancing over at your best friend who nods in response.
“Oh.” They all seem to dismiss the event with your excuse and you let out a sigh of relief, looking to your savior with thankful eyes as you walk away to find something else to do.
“Watch it, you strong motherfucker.” She laughs, elbowing you playfully in your side.
“I forgot!” Usually you don’t even have to use your strength in public, this just came naturally.
Within hours the entire house was transformed into the perfect Halloween venue, seating areas designated, dance floor and music set up, food set out, decorations hanging from every surface, now all that was left to do was to wait for the guests. You suppose this is about when you were supposed to leave. Set up was complete and the party would begin shortly, it’s best to get out before it becomes crowded, but things were just getting started and you really wanted to see all of the planning come into fruition. The alpha’s words echo in your head, but the rebellious side of you wasn’t listening, which might have had something to do with the full moon that was due to appear soon, seeing as the sun was already starting to set. Well, you still had an hour so why not have some fun? It didn’t take long to get home.
As people started showing up, you were assigned door duty, checking people’s invitations and making sure they weren’t carrying any contraband like alcohol, etc. (there was a bar there if anyone wanted drinks). The position gave you a view of the sky and you checked occasionally to see the sunset’s progress, and when the last sliver of light disappeared behind the warm colored leaves in the distance, you abandoned your post to enter the party with Halin.
“There’s a lot of people here.” You state in awe, looking around at the already crowded rooms. Sure, you were the one that let all of these people in, but you didn’t really get a true sense of how many there are until you get the chance to see them all in one place. Unconsciously, you shuffle closer to your friend.
“Hell yeah, I’m excited! Stick close to me we’re going in.” You latch onto her arm as she pulls you ahead into the crowd, pushing past people until you’re in the center of the floor. She immediately starts dancing to the music, jumping into the sway of the party easily while you stick out like a sore thumb, suddenly and inexplicably nauseous.
In hindsight, Namjoon was completely right. As you look around, you notice that you don’t know anyone, which wouldn’t have been an issue if you weren’t so riled up already. The loud music pulses through the building and it’s almost deafening, to the point where your head hurts so much that your eyes feel like they’re about to pop out. Someone bumps into you from the back and you jump in surprise, your yelp drowned out by the noises around you. Even the scent of food and alcohol 3 rooms away wafts into your nose and practically makes you dry heave. Halin seems to notice your discomfort and moves to grab your hands, swinging your arms back and forth to the beat, and you can feel every point of contact you have with other beings, the people rubbing against you, the heat coming off of their bodies, the brush of their costumes and your own against your skin, and it’s all too much. You pull away from her abruptly and make a break for the exit, walking blindly through the people until you find yourself in an equally crowded seating room. Holding yourself, you search for a place to sit, but find that all of the seats are take, so you end up standing awkwardly as people pour in and out of the small room.
Jimin frowns deeply. The sun went down 15 minutes ago and you’re not back home yet, nor have you contacted him. He’s parked on one of the couches surrounding the flat screen tv that is currently playing the beginning of some ridiculous horror comedy movie that Hoseok picked out, snacks splayed all around him as his pack mates talk and eat, unaware of his unease. He shifts in his spot, used to wrapping his arms around you, and he wonders where you are. There’s this feeling in his gut, an unsettling one that rests in the pit of his stomach and makes it tighten into knots. His hair stands on edge, but for some reason he doesn’t think it’s because of the full moon slowly climbing up the night sky. A few minutes pass before he allows the worry to consume him and spring him into action. Nudging Jungkook with his foot, Jimin catches the attention of the younger wolf and leans in to whisper.
“Do you know where (Y/n) is?” There’s a hesitation from Jungkook and this does not go unnoticed, so Jimin asks again, this time louder.
“Shhhh, go somewhere else, we’re trying to watch a movie.” Jin hisses, hand stuffed in the popcorn bowl that’s already half empty. Jimin rolls his eyes and stands, grabbing the other male’s arm to guide him out of the room to continue their conversation.
“Do you know where she went?” He tries a third time, trying to contain his rising temper. The added anxiety on his already irritated conscience makes him a little bit more aggressive than he intends. But Jungkook doesn’t seem too affected.
“Well, I know she went out to a party...” He starts cautiously. Would you want Jimin to know where exactly you were? He wasn’t quite sure if he should tell him.
“Where is the party? I can feel how uncomfortable she is right now, I need to find her.” There’s worry clouding Jimin’s bright eyes and he taps his foot impatiently.
“I don’t know where it is,” The younger one shrugs and thinks back to where you said it would take place. “But she’s with Halin, I’m sure she’s fine.”
As much as Jimin wants to believe this, he can feel his skin almost start to tingle, his instincts telling him that you were unbelievably stressed and overwhelmed, and nothing Halin could do would be able to help that. Only your mate would be able to console your fears.
“No,” The word is almost growled and he fights to contain his wolf that threatens to come out. Right now Jungkook was impeding him from reaching you and if he hadn’t been the only one who knew where you were, Jimin would have long removed him from his path. “I need to get to her right now.” The desperation in his eyes betrays his aggressive words and Jungkook sympathizes. You must actually be in trouble.
“There’s a flier with the party info in my room-“ Before Jungkook can even finish his sentence, Jimin is dashing up the stairs and searching his desk for the bright orange piece of paper that reveals your location. Then he’s out of the door without even saying anything to anyone else.
“Hey!” Namjoon shouts, but he’s long gone. “Where the hell is he going, the moon’s almost out!”
“He’s going to find (Y/n), he can sense something going on.” At Jungkook’s words, the alpha already knows what’s happened. You’re overwhelmed, which means you didn’t heed his warnings and were still at the party. He trusts that Jimin will be able to save you from your distress and relaxes back into his seat with a shake of his head, ignoring the questioning stares of the others.
Taking a few deep breaths, you try to calm yourself down, but the hot air around you only makes it feel like you’re suffocating. Never in your life have you felt so... trapped. You bring your eyes to the ceiling, trying to think past the haze of your headache and figure out a way to bring yourself back from this panic. The full moon was probably all the way out by now, how long have you been in here? Calling Jungkook to come get you was probably the next logical step, but your hands fumble in your pockets and they shake so hard that you can’t see the screen on your tiny device. Distantly, you register your name being called, and look up to see Halin squeezing her way through patrons to get to you.
“(Y/n), I’ve been looking everywhere for you! Are you okay?” Her eyes are wide when she sees your shaken state, the frantic shifting of your eyes barely able to focus on her form in front of you. “Y-your fangs!”
Fangs? Without thinking, you lift a hand to your mouth and are met with the sting of the sharp point of your canine cutting into the pad of your thumb. Looking down at the digit, you observe a drop of blood form and stare at it in shock. Halin turns on the front camera of her phone and holds it in front of you so you can see yourself, shiny new teeth sticking from your mouth similar to how Jungkook’s were before you left the house today.
“I have fangs?” On any other day, you would have been excited by the change, more evidence of your transformation signifying that you’re closer to being a full werewolf. But now it only brings you more fear, looking around at the people who don’t seem to notice. You try to cover them with your lips, but they still are noticeably hanging in front of your bottom lip, along with your eyes that seem to glow in the dark now. Suddenly you’re frozen with fear, unsure of what to do. You’ve long forgotten that this is a costume party and no one thinks your appearance is strange, you’re only focused on the fact that you should have listened to the leader and left before the party started. Regret sets into your throat and threatens to choke you with the weight of it; you’re stuck in a party full of unfamiliar faces, loud noises, bright lights, strange smells, and you can’t even think straight enough to find the exit. Your heart beats too fast and you almost think you’ll pass out from how heavy you’re breathing.
Halin is saying something to you, but her words are muted and all you can hear is the thumping of your heart and the various noises created by the other humans surrounding you all too closely. So you just stand there, thoughts running in a million directions before focusing in on one. A scent. One that triggers something in you that melts your body enough to allow you to look around. That smell, the smell of comfort, protection. Jimin. He locks eyes with you and shoves people out of his way until he’s right next to you, pulling you into his arms.
“I-It’s too much, Jimin.” You whisper into his chest and all he does is shush you quietly.
The first thing he notices is that you’re hyperventilating, panting against his chest in big gasps, but after only seconds of being in his presence your breathing begins to even out. He’s a bit disheveled as well, but now that he’s found you he can relax. Everything around you becomes silent and all you can sense is your mate, his arms wrapped tightly around your shaking frame, his heart synchronizing with yours and calming it, the puffs of air that blow gently on the crown of your head, the hand that runs soothingly through your hair. There’s nothing else but him and you feel your body move away from the ledge it was hanging onto.
“Are you okay?” He murmurs, only loud enough for your sensitive ears to hear. You nod weakly and then he’s pulling you out of the building by the hand, leaving Halin standing there in confusion and guilt. She lets you go, there’s nothing she can do for you anyway.
Once you step outside the cold air rushes into your lungs, allowing you to take your first breaths of clean air. Jimin walks a distance away from the party until you’re out of sight, and then turns to inspect you.
“Are you hurt? Did anyone touch you?” His hands roam you to make sure you’re unharmed as you shake your head, still unable to form words. When you find your voice, you look up at him.
“H-how did you find me?” You’re glad he did, but you half expected Jungkook to go on the search for you first since he knew your curfew and where you were.
“Why didn’t you come home before sunset?” He deflects your question with his own, eyebrows knit in what you perceive as concern.
“I didn’t- it wasn’t-“ You fumble for words, unsure how to answer him. “I’m not sure.” Defeated, you sigh and slump, knowing full well that you had the chance to leave at any time and chose not to.
“(Y/n),” For the first time, Jimin takes in your appearance. He notices your eyes and teeth, leaning in to touch your mouth and make sure they weren’t prosthetics that you added as a part of your costume. When he confirms they are real, he looks up at the sky and sees the moon peeking above the tree line. “Come on, we need to get home.”
You walk to the edge of the trees and enter the forest, looking both ways for bystanders before Jimin shifts and you hop onto his back, holding onto his ash brown fur until you’re in front of the manor again. You both enter the house and head straight into your bedroom, not even giving the rest of the pack a passing glance as all of their ears and heads turn toward you silently, the entire room already half transformed but still completely engrossed in the movie and snacks. Jungkook and Namjoon stare at your back a little longer than the others, but they don’t say anything and return their attention to the screen.
Neither of you know why you’ve ended up in the bedroom, that’s just where Jimin’s instincts led him, but now you were standing face to face in the locked room, staring at each other in silence. Looking into your boyfriend’s eyes, you see a swirl of emotions, something that you thought was anger that was really something more like lust. His pupils were blown, the slim irises reflecting a golden color that glows in the lighting of the room. He approaches you a step closer, looking over your costume and makeup with curiosity.
“So, you went to a party?” He asks lowly, but it comes out as less of a question and more of a statement.
“Yes, Jiwoo planned it.” You respond with a gulp, unsure where the conversation was going.
“And you didn’t invite me? Didn’t even tell me where you were going?” His eyebrow arches as his hand raises to play with a strand of your hair that falls in front of your face.
“You didn’t ask, I thought you didn’t want to know.” Your voice is quiet and shaky, but for a different reason this time.
“At first I didn’t, but I realized that I’m a mess without you. I couldn’t even sit comfortably on the couch when you weren’t next to me, I didn’t know what to do with myself.” His palm caresses your cheek and you lean into his touch, something sparking up inside of you when he stares into your eyes deeply. “I want you by my side. Like I said, I can feel your emotions, I can’t help but want to be there to protect you.”
His hands trail down your skin until they land on your hip, fingers playing with the waistband of your shorts. You shiver at the prospect of what’s to come, a raging sensation burning inside of you that yearns for your mate, who is standing so close now that you’re nearly occupying the same space.
“I’m sorry,” You don’t really know what you’re apologizing for at this point with your mind so scrambled like this. “For not telling you about the party.”
“And?” He whispers, mouth so close to yours.
“For staying out past dark... on a full moon.” Your voice has also dropped to a whisper, your arms moving on their own to wrap around his torso.
“Why did you tell Jungkook and not me? I’m hurt.” Jimin breathes into the crook of your neck, right above his mark and you can feel the ghost of his lips there. “You seem to have a problem with authority, disobeying our alpha and keeping things from me.” He tuts at you while pulling away, fingers now at the front of your top, and with nimble fingers he pulls the knot between your breasts so that it unravels and your shirt falls open, pushed off your shoulders until it pools at the ground. “Did you forget who you are, princess?”
Your exposure sets off the untamed desire within you and before you can help it you’re launching forward and locking lips with him, moaning at the sensation of his hands pinching at your nipples. The kiss is a bit awkward with both of your canines out fully now, but you don’t mind, somehow managing to avoid getting cut by the sharp fangs.
His fingers glide down smoothly into your shorts, putting in little effort and minimal force to rip them from your legs, leaving you in nothing but your fishnets and heel boots. You try to remove his shirt through the sloppy kiss, hands intending to pull the material over his head, but instead it tears off his body in the same way your shorts did, giving as much resistance as a wet tissue. There’s no time to marvel at your strength, though, because the beast inside you is urging you both forward until you land on the shared king sized bed in the middle of the floor and Jimin is flipping you onto your stomach. You crawl onto your knees in front of him to present yourself in just the way he likes, weight resting on your elbows and back arched to accent the roundness of your ass. Jimin sucks in a breath of air and slaps the flesh with a flick of his wrist, palming at the globes roughly as a primal growl rumbles in his throat.
“Look at you, dripping down your thighs and waiting for me to fuck you.” He coos, observing the glistening liquid that coats your legs. “Are you gonna be good for me, baby?” You hear the sound of tearing and feel a breeze between your legs, coming to the realization that he’s torn the center of your leggings and was now face to face with your heat, peppering your skin with kisses. Pressing your eyes shut, you try to stay still as he takes his time studying you, hands spreading your cheeks and thumbs opening your lips so he can get a clear view of his treasure.
“Yes, I’ll be good for you Jimin.” You whine when you feel his tongue glide up your weeping slit, lapping up your juices.
“Do you remember who you are?” His words are spoken into your core, lips traveling down to capture your clit between them and you nearly squeal.
“Yes! I’m your bitch, Jimin! I’m your horny little bitch!” A growl of approval sounds from him when he runs his fingers up your slick inner thighs and your legs are shaking around him with the struggle of holding you up. The copious amount of fluid pouring from you signifies that you’re more than ready to take him inside you and you fight your inner instincts that tell you to beg for him and submit. But in reality, you’ve already fully submitted to him anyway and he knows it. Jimin pulls away to dispose of his pants and underwear, releasing his furious cock that strains and throbs against his hard abdomen. You peek between your legs to catch a glimpse of it, your mouth going dry and your heart jumping to your throat at the sight. You want him so badly, want to feel him deep inside you as soon as possible, and your hole tingles and aches in impatient anticipation.
“You ready for me, baby girl?” He asks, rubbing the tip between your lips to slick it in all of your wetness. “I don’t think I’ll be able to hold back tonight.”
“Please just fuck me,” You whisper, already out of breath just from the thought of what’s to come. “I need you.”
Jimin groans your name as his final effort of resistance against his primal instincts finally break. When he starts pushing inside of your warmth, you notice a difference. He’s slightly bigger than normal, his intrusive girth stretching you farther than before, and you almost double over in shock, but after a couple of seconds your body accepts him and opens up. His hands grip your waist with bruising force and you feel him shake as his cock continues to penetrate your entrance slowly, inch by solid inch. By the time he bottoms out, you’re both panting and trembling slightly, sweat dripping down his hot skin as if he’s been consumed by a sudden fever. Your patience is short and you push back into him, whimpering and swiveling your hips to entice him into action. There’s a moment where he adjusts himself before he’s slamming roughly into you rapidly.
Your jaw falls slack as he fucks into you, his steel grip on you making sure you can’t move an inch away from him. Silver moonlight floods into the room, casting beautiful shadows on your bodies and seemingly adding to his strength and speed. You arch your back so that he can reach deeper into you, head tilting and eyes rolling to the back of your head at the depth he gets.
“Oh my god,” Getting comfortable with the pace, Jimin goes a bit harder, making you claw at the sheets to the point where you’re surprised they haven’t ripped yet. “hngh- oh shit.”
“You like that, baby? You’re taking me so well.” Your lover smirks at your inability to speak, taking in the details of your contorted face and flushed cheeks. Both of you are glistening, the room feeling a thousand degrees hotter now, and even starting to fog up the windows on the far wall of it.
His hands creep up your back and to your shoulder, pushing you down so your face and chest are pressed into the sheets beneath you. At the new angle, Jimin can thrust so much deeper and you feel the engorged tip of his cock grazing your cervix in the most delicious way, more unintelligible moans and noises falling from your lips when he kneels on one knee and snaps his hips impossibly harder. The smell of sex wafts through the air and there’s no doubt in your mind that it’s strong enough for your pack mates to smell even from their position downstairs. Sounds of moans, sticky skin, and the headboard ramming into the abused wall fill the room along with your pants, and it’s so loud, your ears picking up every creak the box springs make under your weight, every inhale and exhale, every ticklish slap of his loaded balls against your labia, every grunt from him and whimper and whine from you. But none of those things compares to the overwhelming sensation of Jimin inside you, his cock filling you so completely that you don’t even have space to think.
“Jimin, more,” You’re able to pant out among the slew of continuous moans.
“You’re a greedy bitch, aren’t you?” He remarks with a dark chuckle. A hand slithers around your midsection, hovering above your clit tantalizingly, and you whine loudly.
“Please!” You cry out, on the verge of ecstasy already and only needing a small push to get you there. You’ve slid up the bed so much that you’re nearly laying flat on your stomach now, but your ass is still propped up for his use. Jimin leans over your frame and cranes his neck down to nibble on your ear, tongue dancing random patterns on your skin that make your head lull to the side.
“Cumming already?” You nod frantically to his question, hips bucking against him in search of anything that will throw you over the edge. “Good. I want you to cum all over this cock like a good little bitch. Show me how much you want me to fill your tight little pussy with my seed.”
Finally, his fingers dip down to rub harsh circles into your clit, tingles of pleasure shooting up your body and making you scream into the sheets. God, it all just feels too good. Jimin finds it in himself to go just a bit faster, the ridges of his length brushing against you in the perfect way, and soon you’re hit with the blinding relief of orgasm. You shake uncontrollably, sound coming from you in broken intervals as you struggle to catch a breath, head thrown back onto his strong shoulder as he keeps with his pace, riding you out until your body sinks back down to earth. He moans with you the entire time you convulse around him, using your tightness to get him closer to his peak, but he slows down a bit when you come back to your senses.
Placing gentle pecks on your neck and jaw, he rolls softly into you, ignoring the roaring monster inside of him that tells him to keep going. The gentleness doesn’t last long, however, because as soon as you’re okay to continue, he drops to his elbows and pistons into you relentlessly, dire to release the pressure that has been building at his base the entire night.
“You did so fucking well, princess,” He rasps, voice a gravelly mumble against the shell of your ear. “I’m gonna fill you up so much, just like you deserve. Until you’re womb is swimming with my babies. Would you like that?” He asks, body moving faster and faster as the words pour out of his mouth.
“Mmhmp, fuck, I want it so bad!” You groan, body as limp as a noodle by this point.
He makes a sound behind you, almost as if he were in pain, and only gets in a few more pumps before he’s stilling inside you, pressed all the way until he’s kissing your cervix. You feel him tense as he swells inside your walls, his tip inflating steadily and stretching you uncomfortably so. You’re no stranger to his knot, having experienced it on multiple occasions, but that doesn’t mean your body doesn’t protest it every time. Naturally, panic starts to set in when your walls are pushed to their limits and beyond. You try to move away, wiggling to escape the pain, but Jimin has you locked to his body, arms wrapped around you and molding you to his front so you can’t go anywhere while he’s still anchored deeply inside you. Soon, he starts shaking and breathing even heavier, moaning your name as the first waves of his orgasm crash down on him, his face buried in your neck as he’s overcome.
“(Y/n),” He chokes out when you continue to squirm. “Don’t move... please.” He sounds strained, grunts and deep rumbles caught in his chest as his cock spurts copious amounts of semen into your womb. You try your hardest to remain still, but fuck, it hurts. You will yourself to relax, your shaky body slowly calming under him when he leaves kisses on your skin, his hot breath soothing you under his trembling figure.
It takes a few minutes before his knot starts to deflate, his breath returning to normal and your hearts synchronizing as he lays on top of you, holding his weight on his elbows. You can feel the load of cum start to leak out of you as soon as he pulls out, your overfilled pussy feeling worn and aching. He moves to cup your heat and you jump at his touch, surprised and unprepared for the contact.
“Don’t waste a drop.” He speaks, knowing that you’re on birth control and won’t be having his pups any time soon, but the animal in him can’t help it. Your cheeks flame at this, thinking back on the intense night you’ve had and the intensity of your connection to him, and Jimin notices your sudden shyness. “What is it?”
“Nothing.” You roll over and he lays beside you, pulling you closer so you can cuddle up into his chest. “I just love you... a lot.” At this he grins.
“I’m so happy you’re my mate. I’m so glad I marked you.” He stares at your scar for a moment, the teeth imprint a forever reminder that you are his. “Listen, I don’t think I can ever not be protective of you. I want you to have your space, but I can’t stand to be without you. I feel like half a person when you’re not around.”
“I don’t want space, Jimin. I want you. I think I learned that very valuable lesson today.” You laugh, looking into his eyes lovingly. “Along with the lesson to never listen to Halin again. She’s the one that convinced me to go to the stupid party in the first place.”
A hearty laugh sounds from him and you smile at the brightness in his face. “She meant well.” There’s a long pause where the both of you just look at each other, not saying anything. But then he speaks again. “You look good with fangs.”
His comment reminds you of your new appearance, as well as your costume for the night, which has now been ripped to shreds, and your makeup that has smudged all over your face.
“Do you think they’re here to stay? Like yours?” Jimin shrugs at this, thinking of what might happen. Maybe the full moon triggered something within you and let out your wolf. Maybe it will only last for tonight. Who knows, all he knows is that he’ll love you either way.
“I guess we’ll have to see, but for now, let’s get some rest. You’re gonna need it for round 2.”
“Round 2?” You raise an eyebrow in question, but he says nothing else. “The night is still young, who says we’re stopping at two?”
“You horny little devil.” He giggles, poking your nose. “I guess you’ll have to wait and find out about that too.”

Theme: Halloween!
Halloween is approaching, and here are some wlw reads to get you in the holiday spirit! (pun fully intended)
Moonstruck by Grace Ellis : This isn’t a spooky read at all, but it is filled with monsters and werewolves and magic (oh my!). Julie is a barista (and also a werewolf) who just wants to go on a date with her new crush/maybe girlfriend (another werewolf). Her plans are foiled when her co-worker and friend Chet butts their way in, and pushes the two towards an underground magic show. But the act isn’t quite as innocent as it seems, and Chet the centaur is suddenly Chet the non-mythological human. The group sets off on a hunt to find the elusive magician and return Chet’s horse butt to its rightful place. This graphic novel is just about the sweetest thing I’ve read in a while, and if you just want some bad puns and cutesy monsters to add in a little bit of Halloween fun, this is the book for you.
The Red Tree by Caitlín R. Kiernan : This one kind of sneaks up on you, it’s definitely a creepier read than I first anticipated. Sarah Crowe left Atlanta and the remains of a broken relationship to head to an isolated house in Rhode Island to finish her long overdue novel. A few months later, she commits suicide, just like the previous tenant a few years earlier. What she left behind is her journal from the months she spent cooped up in the house, and the manuscript of the URI professor who lived (and died) there before her. As she learns more about the property and the many ghastly sightings and deaths associated with it, her own experiences start to match that of the local legends and she begins to believe that the ancient red oak out her window is much more than just a tree.
Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace : When Breezy wakes up, a year has passed since what she can last remember. Not quite alive and not quite dead, Breezy just wants to know what happened to her, and what happened to the man lying dead at her grave. This book is populated with supernatural creatures, some of them significantly more benevolent than others, and humans with intent more malicious than that of the ghouls they hunt. It’s positively creepy, filled with revenge and morally gray characters that differentiates it from a lot of the supernatural novels out there.
Hocus Pocus & The All-New Sequel by A.W. Jantha : Yes, this is an official sequel, actually produced and copyrighted by Disney. If only they could spread the same diversity to their cinematic universe. Anyway, the first part of this book is a novelization of the 1993 movie. The second (and longer!) part is all brand new material. The new trio is Poppy, Max and Allison’s daughter, her best friend Travis, and her new crush Isabella. Trying to impress Isabella and avoid mean girl Katie Taylor, she and her friends grab a spirit board and take a trip to the Sanderson house. Poppy has never really believed her parents’ story and certainly isn’t about to take their warnings to heed the Halloween night blood moon seriously. As anyone who’s seen the movie could probably guess, things do not go as planned and the witches are back with a brand new plan for witch supremacy. This book is just pure fun, with an exciting and all new cast (of the main trio, 2/3 are black and 2/3 are wlw). Also, all the titles are Halloween puns. Personal favorites: “Squad Ghouls” and “Basic Witch.”

Oh my pretty omega, let me treat you right
Pairing: Jimin x Jungkook
Word count: 2.3k
Summary: "Listen, don't let people mess with you like that, okay? You don't deserve to be treated like that." "It's fine really. I'm used to it."
Genre: Werewolf AU.
Ratings: Eventual smut.
Author’s note: I got inspired to write this by Jimin’s post of today. Plus its Halloween so I wanted to write something supernatural. x
Jungkook sighed loudly as he ran his fingers through his dark hair. His father, the alpha leader of his pack just told him that he needs to find a mate soon. As the alpha leader's son Jungkook is very important in his pack. After all he's the next in line to be the leader of the pack. Finding a mate shouldn't be a problem, technically. Since Jungkook is pretty popular among the girls in his pack, although he isn't sure if that's really because of him or because of his status. All these girls are either alphas or betas. That's because alpha's and beta's have a much higher status than omegas. Alphas have the highest status, obviously and close after them follow the betas. Omegas on the other hand have the lowest status. They're not as rich, not as strong and not as powerful as the others.
Therefor omegas get bullied and made fun of. It's been like that for years. However, Jungkook doesn't feel like bullying omegas, unlike everyone else in his pack that's an alpha or a beta. Maybe that's because he likes them more than the others. See, alphas and betas are both very dominant and out there. Of course nothing beats and alpha but betas can be pretty dominant and demanding too. They're also very stubborn and want everything to go their way. Omegas on the other hand are much quieter. They're very reserved and creative. They don't really care about someone's status and always try to be nice, even to the alphas and betas who bully them.
This is the reason why Jungkook noticed Jimin. He was just on his way home when a group of beta girls, the same girls who practically throw themselves at him, pushed him up against the wall and threw his backpack in the river. The girls laughed at the sight before walking off, leaving him to fish his backpack out of the river and to walk home with his ruined books and homework. The next day when the same girls surrounded Jungkook again he completely ignored them, even made a harsh comment before walking off. The girls however seemed unfazed by this as they just kept following him around. He sighed deeply before going in another direction, the girls finally leaving him alone. On his way back he ran into Jimin. Literally.
Even though the impact caused Jimin to fall to the ground, he still apologized for bumping into him and ran off as fast as his legs could carry him. He felt bad for scaring him like that and wanted to make it up to him. So two days later when he saw that same group of girls throwing away his lunch he stood up for him. He demanded those girls to leave him alone and surprisingly they listened. They apologized to Jungkook which made him even more mad than he already was, since they should have been apologizing to Jimin instead. They ran off quickly, leaving Jimin and Jungkook being the only ones left in the cafeteria.
Jimin kept his gaze on his lap as he mumbled,
"Thank you, you didn't have to do that."
Jungkook was having none of it. He lifted Jimin's chin up so he was looking him in the eyes and felt his breath hitch in his throat. He wanted to demand the pretty omega that he shouldn't be nice to people who treat him like shit but once he saw his face up close he froze on the spot. Of course he had seen him before and thought that he was very pretty but he looked even more beautiful up close. Something Jungkook thought wasn't possible. He felt something swell in his chest as he broke out into a small smile. Jimin blushed at the sight of the handsome alpha smiling at him as he tried to look at anything but his face. Jungkook chuckled at the smaller's behavior as he brushed Jimin's hair out of his face.
"Listen, don't let people mess with you like that, okay? You don't deserve to be treated like that."
"It's fine really. I'm used to it."
Jungkook felt his heart break at the smaller's words. He's right, he must have gotten used to it by now. Now Jungkook was thinking about it, Jimin had always been bullied by others. Ever since he was a little pup they started picking on him. Jungkook remembered seeing the small boy at the playground once and thinking about how adorable he was. Jimin hadn't noticed him and continued happily playing with his cars. Meanwhile Jungkook hid in the bushes for an hour just to watch the cute guy. Maybe that was the reason he wasn't interested in those girls who threw themselves at him. Maybe he had fallen for Jimin a long time ago and that's why he never bothered looking at anyone else. Suddenly everything started to make sense.
He loves Jimin. However, it's never happened that an alpha mated with an omega. There aren't really any rules for mating but let's just say it wouldn't be very appreciated to see an alpha with an omega. Not that Jungkook cares about that. He's gonna make Jimin his mate, no matter what other's think about it. Jimin shifted uncomfortably under the alpha's strong gaze. He didn't know why Jungkook was looking at him like that but he found himself liking it a lot. He quickly brushed it off before stepping back and getting ready to leave. It couldn't happen. He was the next in line to be the leader of the pact after all.
Jimin thanked him one more time before walking off. Right before he was able to turn around a strong hand grabbed his arm, yanking him back so he was pressed flush against the alpha. He stared up at Jungkook with wide eyes as a blush spread across his cheeks.
"W-what are you doing?" He mumbled, his voice almost the sound of a whisper but Jungkook heard him anyways.
The alpha looked him directly in the eyes as he said,
"I want you to be my mate."
Well if Jimin's eyes weren't ready to pop out yet they certainly were now. His heart started to beat faster as the realized what he said. Jimin undoubtedly had a crush on the alpha. He had ever since he was little and caught him spying on him from the bushes. Wherever he went the alpha always seemed to be around, watching him. It made Jimin feel saver, having the alpha watch over him. However, it just doesn't happen. An alpha and an omega. It just doesn't. So Jimin felt his heart break as he said,
"Jungkook, we can't."
Jimin pushed against Jungkook's chest, trying to move away but the alpha only held onto him tighter.
"I don't care. I want you to be my mate, no matter what others say. Don't you love me, Jimin?"
"Of course I love you Jungkook but-"
"-Then let's just be happy together. I'll protect you. My father said that I should find a mate, but he never said that it couldn't be an omega."
Jimin smiled at Jungkook's words as he pressed his face against his toned chest. The alpha smiled at the sight before pressing a kiss against Jimin’s forehead.
"Don't worry Jimin. You're safe with me."
Turns out Jungkook was right all along. Sure everyone had an opinion about it at first and thought it was disgusting that an alpha choose an omega as his mate but they warmed up to it, eventually. Jimin and Jungkook had been dating for 3 months now they had never been happier. Jimin felt loved for the first time in his life and couldn’t be happier with his boyfriend, but still hadn't officially mated yet. The mating ritual happens during sex, which is something the two of them didn't have yet. However, Jimin's heat was coming up and he couldn't be more nervous about it. It wasn't that he didn't trust his boyfriend, he was just nervous about how he would react. He's been in heat before and it was awful.
He got really whiny and moody when he didn't get what he wanted. Most importantly it hurt an awful lot too. He knows Jungkook doesn't like seeing him in pain but he's never seen that side of him. He sighed deeply before making his way to his boyfriend and climbing in his lap. Jungkook put his phone down as he wrapped his arms around his smaller boyfriend, happily welcoming him.
"Everything alright Jiminie?"
"Yeah, I just wanna cuddle."
Jungkook smiled at his words as he nuzzled his nose against Jimin's. Right then he noticed that Jimin smelled a little different and not like he usually does. A smug smirk appeared on his face as he asked,
"Baby, are you going into heat soon?"
Jimin blushed at his boyfriend's words as he shyly nodded his head.
"Yes, but you don't have to help me if you don't want to."
He mumbled, hiding his face in Jungkook's neck. "Of course I'll help you baby." He said as he kissed his cheek.
"I'll take care of you."
Jimin groaned loudly as he woke up all hot and sweaty. He glanced at the clock to see that it was only 3 am. Perfect. As he turned around he was met with the sight of Jungkook still sleeping peacefully. His lips slightly parted as he breathed steadily. Why now out of all times? Jimin thoughts as he shifted uncomfortably. He pressed himself up against Jungkook as he trailed his fingertips over his exposed chest. He let his fingers trail over his abs before be brought them up to his collarbones. Should he wake him up or not? He looked so peaceful when he slept. He didn't want to wake him up but he wanted him so badly. So he moved to straddle him as he brought his lips to his neck, pressing open mouth kisses against it. Jungkook shifted underneath him but didn't wake up yet. Jimin was getting impatient so he started grinding his lips against Jungkook's, who's eyes flickered open as he let out a moan.
"Baby, what are you doing?"
He asked in his raspy morning voice, making Jimin even needier than he already was.
"I need you so badly. Please fuck me." Jimin whined against Jungkook's neck.
Jungkook was wide awake after that. He quickly flipped Jimin over so he was laying underneath him before he smashed his lips against his. Jimin moaned loudly when he felt Jungkook grinding down on him as his tongue explored his mouth. He dug his nails into his shoulders as Jungkook's lips left his to create hickeys on his neck. Purple bruises decorating his beautiful skin.
"Jungkook alpha I need you now."
That was it for Jungkook. He hastily took their sweatpants off before sliding two fingers into Jimin, who arched his back at the feeling. Jungkook almost didn't have to prep him since he was so ready for him. Jimin pulled his head up so he was facing him as he said,
"Just fuck me already."
So Jungkook did. He pulled his slick fingers out and lined himself up at Jimin's entrance. He didn't want to hurt him but he was so turned on at the same time. Seeing his boyfriend this desperate for him to fuck him was really too much to handle. He slowly pushed in, throwing his head back at the feeling of Jimin's walls tightly wrapped around him.
"Fuck baby you're so tight. I'm not gonna last long." He groaned.
"Me neither." Jimin replied in a whiny voice.
Jungkook smiled at how desperate he was as he started thrusting in and out of him, setting a fast pace as he rested his forehead against Jimin's. Jimin's eyes rolled back when he felt Jungkook's tip hitting his prostate repeatedly. He moaned loudly as he held on tighter to his alpha.
"Faster."
Sweat started to drip down their bodies as Jungkook picked up the pace, turning his omega into a whimpering mess underneath him. Jimin wrapped his arms around Jungkook's neck as he whined,
"I'm gonna cum."
"Fuck me too baby. You ready?"
Jimin nodded eagerly as he turned his head, exposing his neck and collarbones so Jungkook could mark him as his. Jimin was ready to be bound to Jungkook forever. Jungkook brushed his lips over the part between Jimin's shoulder and collarbone as he moved his hips even harder. The sound of skin slapping against skin echoing through their bedroom. Jungkook pressed one last kiss to his omega's lips before sinking his teeth into his skin, marking him as his. Jimin moaned loudly as he felt his orgasm wash over him, making him tremble uncontrollably as Jungkook helped him riding it out before cumming deeply inside of him. He pressed a kiss against the wound that would bond them forever. Jimin was his now, his and only his. He smiled at the thought as he pulled out, turning Jimin's face so he could kiss him. Who in return smiled against his lips as he held onto him like a koala would, making him laugh.
"You're so cute Jimin. I love you."
Jimin felt his heart swell at his alpha's words as a bright smile appeared on his face, making Jungkook smile too.
"I love you too Jungkook."
The two of them spend the rest of the night snuggled up together, limbs tangled as they held each other close. This is how it was meant to be from the beginning; the two of them together, forever and always.

wat are some of ur fave fanfics?
I paused Boss Baby to answer this I hope you’re satisfied.
Lmao.
Sadly I don’t read as much fanfic as I used to, and I definitely read less than I want to. I still need to catch up with a LOT of fics, so I’m only going to list what I have caught up with.
Before we begin might I recommend, anyway, Taming A Monster (HTTYD) and Daughter of Death (Mulan) by my friend @missiemoose ?? !?
Okay, now we shall officially begin!
I’ve separated these recs into HTTYD and non-HTTYD.
HTTYD:
Heart of a Scot, Soul of a Dragon by @joliemariella [Brave/HTTYD crossover—Mericup] This is my current favorite fanfic of all time! No hyperbole!! The relationship between Merida and Dagur is so wonderful I can’t get enough of these PERFECT BEST FRIENDS! And I just absolutely love how the two worlds are bridged together; nothing feels rushed or out of place, everyone is perfectly in-character and the story never loses its sense of wonder! If you’re a fan of “Brave” and a bigger fan of Dagur (because this is a big Dagur fanfic,) I highly recommend it!
Practically Cliché by @tysonrunningfox [Modern AU—Erestrid] The…very first…fanfic I read for HTTYD…….(I’m pretty sure)... Reader beware, Eret is naked 9 times out of 10. This fic is what made me fall in love with Astrid’s character and really start to understand her better. That might be my favorite part of fox’s stories, that she writes Astrid so candidly and in a way that gets her. And also Eret is really hot. This fic is Rated R for Raunchy.
Bring It Back Home also by @tysonrunningfox [Modern AU—Snotstrid] BASEBALL SEASON IS SNOTSTRID SEASON AND ONLY THE STRONG WILL SURVIVE. I’m serious I can’t look at baseball without thinking of this horribly wonderful story and these silly pictures. I think this is the fic that ruined me. It made me not hate baseball. It gave me a domestic Snotstrid fetish. It’s AMAZING!
Just follow @tysonrunningfox and if you aren’t already, what are you doing. READ ALL HER FICS !! ! !!
No Justice In Secrets by CrawlingFlesh [Canon Divergence—Daglout] This very well may be the only proper (as in on a fanfic site) Daglout fanfiction ever to exist. It’s a bit tragic, but I like to imagine a happy epilogue.
You’re Everything I Want (And Nothing I Can Keep) by @wilderwestqueen [Modern AU—Hiccstrid] What can I say, I’m a sucker for helpless pining and fake relationships! This fic gives me all the Hiccstrid I could ask for and more. Even more Hiccstrid. It’s so much. It’s just like that tub of homemade frosting I made so I could eat it all but it’s too sweet to consume it ALL AT ONCE like I had planned. I mean, I want to consume it all right now, I really do, but is it healthy for me?? No. I do it anyway. ..What were we talking about?
Gift Of A Mother by GreatMarta [Canon Divergence] I know AU’s where Hiccup runs away during the first movie are popular, but this fic satisfies the need I always have for stories about Valka coming back to Berk. I’m always way more interested in how people who have lived in nature adapt back to a human way of life, and I want to explore Valka’s life on Berk! And with Jorgenson family feels and Smallcup, this is the perfect place for me to settle right in.
Every Nest Has Its Queen by Palus_Heimalis [Canon Divergence] ANOTHER VALKA-FOCUSED FIC!! That’s right, because they’re all good. And this one is especially good because she’s a transwoman now. Oh yeah. Can’t take that away from me!!!!!!!
Hallow’s Eve by @maedarakat [Modern+Fantasy AU—Tuffgur] Who knew being a werewolf fit Dagur so well? We knew. We all knew, deep down. Maybe this is more of a seasonal fic for some people, who are cowards and fools and keep Halloween to a specific month of the year. That’s not how I live!! The Tuffnut/Dagur content in this fic is #Prime and completely appreciated.
And you should follow @maedarakat if you’re a fan of the Thorston twins, because he posts like…all the best and most quality content for those rascals. If I could, and it’s only me stopping me, I would go through his whole archive and link every ficlet. But I need to finish watching Boss Baby and it’s already 4 AM.
Non-HTTYD:
Aftermath by @barduil — Look. … . ..I can’t leave the 2016 remake of “Beauty and the Beast” behind me, try as I might, and GaFou is JUST the hill I will die on. This is the fanfic that helps me COPE.
Beauty and the Biryani by EmpressIrony — Okay. You might not understand the reason why this exists. It’s born from a sort of… Well, you had to be there. And you can’t now. We can never go back. This was built from the blogging of Nella’s hilarious and excruciating journey through “The Tiger’s Curse” novel, which was all on a site that is long gone. In its time, fans of her blog were writing fanfics in response to posts and others comments (usually from Goodreads forums. God…good times. I even had my own fic from this event). I think this fic stands on its own as a cute romance. There is quite an age difference, though! So if you’re not into that, skip!!
The Fountain’s Promise by last place — Just a really niche fic that stuck with me forever. When I looked up the “Western” genre in the Death Note archive once and really late into a school night, I wasn’t actually looking for something great, but greatness was waiting! This fanfic delves into Morality and Fate, those nonsense concepts all the best Death Note fics tried their hand at. It’s a bit more fantastical than realistic, but I remember the concept working quite well!
Pantheon by @inkedinserendipity — This is such a beautiful epilogue to “Moana’. I love all of inked’s “Moana” stories; they’re a deep dive (ocean humor) into the story beyond, and I highly, highly recommend you check them out if you love the film!

The IT Experience Chapter Two: the Derry Canal Days Festival is a free haunted house that will run August 15 to September 8, 2019, with free tickets that can be booked here. In this post, we preview this new interactive experience with a review & photos of IT Experience: Neibolt House, which we toured prior to the last IT movie two years ago.
As with IT Experience: Neibolt House, IT Experience Chapter Two – The Derry Canal Days Festival will be open daily from 2 pm until 11pm at Hollywood Blvd & Vine St. and will offer free advance ticketing with a standby queue for guests who don’t score tickets. Expect long lines for standby (as you can read below via our experience last time); we’d highly recommend trying to book reservations.
Per the IT Experience Chapter Two – The Derry Canal Days Festival official site, “your cherished memories of the old carnival days will be turned inside out during this 40-minute spine tingling experience. There will be over 10 immersive and terrifying interactive spaces, giving visitors a glimpse into the upcoming film.”
If this description is accurate, the duration of the IT Experience Chapter Two – The Derry Canal Days Festival is significantly longer than its predecessor, which lasted around 12-15 minutes, depending upon how quickly you walked through the IT house.
Aside from this description and the dates, not much else is know about the IT Experience Chapter Two – The Derry Canal Days Festival. We do have the promo poster below, and following that is our review of the original IT Experience from two years ago:
Normally, we wouldn’t cover something with such a short run, but we waited in line roughly two hours for this, so dammit, it’s getting a blog post. Note that after the jump, this IT Experience: Neibolt House Hollywood review is not spoiler-free, as there will be photos. If you want the short answer of whether you should do this, it’s yes.
The IT Experience: Neibolt House Hollywood is somewhat akin to a Halloween Horror Nights maze/house. The key distinction here is that the story isn’t a non-stop ‘flow’ of guests walking through a set path. Instead, small groups of seven guests (dubbed the “Losers Club”) are actively guided by Georgie, with prolonged stops in each room.
The reason for this approach is due to the more active nature of the storytelling here. Georgie interacts with effects that come to life in each room. Almost none of these effects are immediate or on an interval timer; they require Georgie to trigger, and then the show unfolds while guests are in a particular room, actively engaging with a particular scene.
This is really cool, and I definitely prefer this approach to the steady stream of guests that go through a Halloween Horror Nights maze. You get a chance to let things percolate, suspense builds, and the experience becomes more than just being about cheap scares and startling moments.
Not only does this make for a more suspenseful and satisfying experience as tension builds, but you also see more of the details in each room. It also takes more time to snake through the IT Experience, with an average tour duration likely to be around 12 minutes. (The hosts indicated it was 15 minutes, but our tour wasn’t quite that long.)
I would say that this makes it the ‘next generation’ of haunted houses, and that Universal should take note. However, there’s one glaring problem with this approach: capacity is abysmal. Seven guests enter the The IT Experience: Neibolt House every 5 minutes. That amounts to an hourly capacity of less than 100 guests per hour.
As mentioned, we were in line for roughly 2 hours. We had heard that the wait had been around 1-2 hours on weeknights, so we figured it we arrived at 12:30 p.m. on a Monday, we would wait under an hour. This belief was reinforced when we saw a short line in front of us. Unfortunately, due to capacity, that short line was still a two-hour wait.
When we exited the IT Experience: Neibolt House, the line was quite a bit longer than when we got into it. I’m guessing it was about three hours at that point. I cannot imagine what it will be on weekends or evenings, but then again, this is tourist season in Los Angeles, so maybe it’ll actually be shorter after Labor Day.
Circling back to the substance of the IT Experience: Neibolt House, there were a lot of cool details. I would say that, overall, the level of detail was about on par with an average (maybe even slightly below-average) Halloween Horror Nights house. In this regard, it probably hurts the IT Experience: Neibolt House a bit that you’re lingering in these rooms far longer than you’re in each HHN maze.
Where the IT Experience unquestionably trumps Universal’s mazes is in terms of special effects. There are animatronics, reasonably well-executed projections, and a lot happens on cue. Oh, and there are the aforementioned “holographic horrors.” (Something the world truly needs more of.)
Spoiler Alert: Hologram Tupac does not make an appearance, which is of course the biggest letdown of the entire thing. Now I don’t even care about this movie. What’s there in the IT Experience is pretty good, especially for something that only runs a month.
Where it falls short of Halloween Horror Nights is in terms of scares. There are only a handful of startling moments, and none were particularly effective on our tour.
This is a pretty big weakness of the IT Experience. In fact, some of the suspense that it builds ultimately just fizzles out. Those instances aside, the suspenseful execution here is pretty top-notch.
There are some great moments during the experience, and there is also a ton of excellent details and visual effects. As a geek for themed design, perhaps I put too much weight on this element of the IT Experience: Neibolt House. I also have to admit that I find the attempts at startling people as they walk through a haunted house somewhat lame and predictable, so this wasn’t a huge deal for me. To each their own, though.
From my perspective, a potentially bigger problem is that some of these details are going to be lost on literally everyone, since the movie is not out yet. There were things like magazines, toys, and other small touches that I assume feature in the plot of the film–or at least in the background.
I’m sort of used to this by now. Most of the films at Halloween Horror Nights I’ve never seen, so I’m usually oblivious to some of what’s going on and I need it explained to me by friends. I will say that I normally appreciate the houses for films I’ve actually seen (American Werewolf is my all-time favorite house), usually because I “get” some of these things, or the in-jokes that are scattered throughout the sets.
All things considered, I really enjoyed the IT Experience: Neibolt House and would highly recommend it if you’re a local, even with the long wait. In addition to the standby line, there are also tickets available–they’re “currently” sold out, but you can join the waitlist (we probably wouldn’t bank on that). If you’re visiting Southern California, I’m not sure the experience is “worth” several hours of valuable vacation time, but your mileage may vary on that. Be sure to pack sunscreen and a hat (the queue is all outdoors with very little shade), and your camera (photos are allowed!) for the IT Experience: Neibolt House. I’m hopeful that the IT Experience: Neibolt House Hollywood will have its run extended (at least through Halloween!), because this is too well-done to be only a month-long offering that ~1,000 people per day will have a chance to experience.

Steam Halloween Sale Picks | Rock Paper Shotgun
As we plunge into the top of Skeleton Appreciation Month, we enter Gross sales Season, a much more perilous time for anybody with poor impulse management. Steam’s inevitable Halloween sale is now stay, and whereas it’s not as sweeping in scale because the inevitable Christmas discount-a-thon due in December, there’s some good offers. You may see the official sale web page right here with horror, zombie and vampire collections, plus some extra extra obscure, private picks under. The sale is stay now, and lasts till November 1st.
Everybody is aware of about Darkest Dungeon and Vampyr, so right here’s a number of extra obscure video games that (principally) match the Halloween profile. Put together for loss of life by a thousand cuts into your free time.
Golden Krone Lodge by Vulgat – £2.79/€three.99/$three.99
A intelligent little hammer horror roguelike. When you would possibly begin out as a human, you’ll undoubtedly find yourself as a werewolf or vampire with restricted management, and have to juggle your (usually unwillingly) shifting type. Easy controls and methods allow you to concentrate on the large issues, like one second being an ideal shadow-lurking predator, and the subsequent second you’re blind as a bat and scurrying for daylight to guard you from the issues you understand are bumping round in the dead of night. Easy pixel graphics match the easy methods, however there’s lots of intelligent tactical challenges right here.
Zombie Night time Terror by Noclip – £1.49/€1.94/$1.94.
It’s Lemmings, however with zombies and tongue wedged firmly in cheek. For some purpose, not too many individuals tried imitating DMA designs’s traditional puzzler collection. Maybe as a result of the sequels already hit the purpose of diminishing returns? Both approach, Noclip have resurrected the components with some enjoyable twists. Taking part in because the unseen overmind of a mutating zombie swarm, you’ve bought to puzzle your minions from A to B whereas consuming as many brains as doable and getting as few zombos shot as you’ll be able to. It’s good enjoyable, and bought a free enlargement and degree editor after launch too.
Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters Dawn: Particular Gigs by Toybox – £1.74/€2.49/$2.49
Nicely, that’s a title and a half. And one other half. A guarded suggestion, however this one is simply too bizarre, inventive and low-cost to not give a shout-out. A weird hybrid of visible novel, RPG, squad ways and mini-game compilation with the only most baffling dialogue system since Captain Blood. Oh, and it’s mainly Ghostbusters as filtered by way of fashionable Japanese folklore. Lead a squad of mismatched oddball paranormal investigators round Japan, zapping spooks, yelling at ghosts and choosing the ‘lick’ dialogue motion 90% of the time as a result of it’s hilarious.
Pathologic Basic HD and The Void by Ice-Decide Lodge – $zero.99/1.29/$1.29 and £2.09/€2.99/$2.99 respectively
Two comparable however wildly totally different simulations of crushing existential dread from Ice-Decide Lodge. Pathologic Basic is a re-translated remaster of the marginally surreal plague survival sim. The upcoming remake/sequel remains to be in improvement and there’s a public alpha construct permitting you to poke round it, however the authentic is totally different sufficient to be value attempting. The Void is extra summary, and extra historically harmful and tough. Save usually in a number of slots, don’t be afraid to just accept defeat, and benefit from the gorgeously darkish artwork, even when the tech supporting it’s getting a bit creaky.
Monolith by Group D-13 £2.79/three.99/$three.99
Solely barely spooky, however there’s sufficient ghouls, ghosts and skulls attempting to homicide you with bullets to make it related. If The Binding Of Isaac is half roguelike, half shooter, then twin-stick roguelike shmup Monolith’s ratio is nearer to 1:9. Whereas the maps are randomly generated and your encounters and the weapons you’ll use are shuffled every time, ability and precision beats luck any day of the week. Sharp pixels, big replay worth (the true ending takes a number of wins), catchy music and nice bosses. Evidently Group D-13 are engaged on an enlargement, too. Learn extra right here.
Glittermitten Grove, aka Frog Fractions 2 – by Principally Tigerproof (actually Twinbeard) – £6/€eight/$eight
Okay, this one is dishonest and never spooky in any respect, until nu-metal band Korn weirds you out on some weird degree. It’s humorous although, and good, and completely definitely worth the discounted value. Whereas weirdly compelling in its personal proper, fairy town-management sport Glittermitten Grove is only a crafty facade for a much more weird journey. Simply dig down, knock on the door and put together for puzzles, ZZT nostalgia, mini-games and the fourth wall getting kicked down, smashed right into a fantastic powder after which snorted for max boggle-eyed impact. Play the Flash authentic right here first.
So, there’s a handful to get you began. You may hear it already, can’t you? – the hole rasping of your checking account, dry and decrepit, praying for mercy to a merciless and uncaring universe. Spoopy.

Short Story: Cry Wolf Part 2, starring Junmyeon. Genre: Wolf!AU, Fluff, Romance, Slight Angst(?) Word Count: 5,352 A/N: Here's that second part to Cry Wolf everyone's been asking for (a year later)! I hope you enjoy it. ^^ I’m sorry the Christmas Special came wayy after it was supposed to. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(♫) It's the most beautiful time of the year. Lights fill the streets, spreadin' so much cheer.
The first day of December you were expecting Christmas lights and people singing carols from morning until night.
Junmyeon, your werewolf boyfriend mate (you're still not sure what to call him, to be honest), notices your disappointment at the lack of celebrating spirit.
"We've just never done what the city folk have," He tells you when you fall on his couch sadly. He takes a seat by your feet and rests a hand on your ankles. "Holiday traditions included."
"No way, I never noticed in the six months I've been here." You drawl sarcastically, draping your wrist over your eyes. The secluded town didn't celebrate Independence Day or Halloween, either.
Junmyeon takes this in stride, knowing you're not blowing him off by being quiet. Your pocket vibrates at that moment and you reach down to take out your phone. "Ugh." You scoff, dropping it on the floor.
"What is it?" He asks curiously, leaning over you to peer at the illuminated screen on the carpet.
"My city friends are sending me pictures of them having fun, is all." You reply, closing your eyes and pouting. He doesn't say anything to this, but just leans back and sits there, not looking at you.
This makes you remember that Junmyeon doesn't like it when you talk about the city. It makes him feel like you still want to move back, despite the many times you told him that you'd stay (one more year and you're officially an adult) because of him.
With your guilt replacing your bad mood, you sit up, your legs moving to his lap. He's aware of your change in attitude and looks at you expectantly, knowing you have something to say. "It snows here, right?" You ask him. So far, it's yet to snow, despite the freezing temperatures.
"Of course!" He smiles, glad that you're spirits have risen. "We usually get at least twelve inches every year."
"Wow, really?" You beam, amazed. Your smile is contagious for your werefriend, because he returns it as he nods. "It doesn't snow that much in the city."
Saying this, you realize you messed up again. Comparing the city to his home village always gets him in a mellow mood. He tries to hide it, but you notice it anyways. Yesung, his dad, said that soul mates can tell the other's mood very easily. You've yet to disprove this.
"Look, I'm sorry, Myeon." You apologize, taking his hand and squeezing it. "I'm still not used to living here, is all. I really don't want to go back."
"I know," He murmurs, squeezing your hand back. "I smell your honesty." That's another thing you haven't gotten used to. Junmyeon knows what you're feeling at all times and whether or not you're lying to him, which is sometimes vexing, but most of the time relieving.
"Then don't be so down." You hum, tugging his hand. "Let's go outside." You suggest. Junmyeon likes being outdoors more than you do, which you assume is because he's part wolf.
"Alright." He agrees, slipping his free hand under your legs and lifting you up when he stands. You yelp, grabbing his neck to stay steady. "Where do you want to go?" He asks, stepping over your phone to navigate towards the door.
"Um," You stammer, still reeling from being picked up. "Let's go visit Heechul. He wanted us to stop by today anyways, right?" You ask him as he sets you down so you two can put on a coat. Even though there's no snow, there may as well be an ice age outside because of the freezing temperature.
"Yeah." Junmyeon says, wrapping his scarf around your neck. You ignore your heating cheeks, but don't miss the pleased look on his face at your reaction.
"Shut up." You glare at him, smiling a little.
"I didn't say anything." He says, raising his hands innocently, though you both know he didn't need to.
(♫) I don't wanna miss out on the holiday, but I can't stop starin' at your face. I should be playin' in the winter snow, but I'ma be under the mistletoe.
Heechul lives on the other side of the village where you do, and though it's small, it's still a fifteen minute walk from your house to his. Not that you mind it, since it gives you more time to hold Junmyeon's hand.
"You think he'll be mad if we show up with no notice?" You ask Junmyeon, since he knows Heechul better than you do.
"Nah," He shakes his head, then reconsiders. "Mmm... he might." When you make an exasperated noise, he laughs. "It's a fifty-fifty chance with him. Let's just hope he's in a good mood."
At his doorstep, you can already tell that Heechul is indeed in a good mood. "Hey guys!" He exclaims, grinning the moment he sees you from his rocking chair. He stands up gleefully, waving you over. "Thanks for coming! I need you two to do something for me!"
"You do?" Junmyeon asks, stopping in his tracks. "Uh, we were actually just passing by, we're kind of busy right now." He blurts, grabbing your shoulders and turning you around. "Merry Christmas Heechul! Have a nice--"
"Ah, ah, ah," The older man says, dashing off his porch to catch up to you guys. Junmyeon freezes, making you wonder what's so devasting about helping Heechul. "Help an old man out, won't you?"
"Of course we will! And you're not old at all!" You turn around, smiling at Junmyeon. He gives you frightful look, but no explanation.
"Thank you, you're such a sweetheart, _____. I'm glad your family moved in." Heechul says sincerely, and you glance at Junmyeon reassuringly, wondering why he was so worried in the first place.
"What did you need us to do?" You ask him.
"Can you go into the forest and collect fifty three mistletoe for me?" He smiles.
"F-Fifty three?" You stutter, blinking in shock.
"Before the sun sets, preferably." Heechul nods enthusiastically. "You see, the villagers never get their own, and it's been almost six years since we've hung some up, since Junmyeon stopped volunteering." In the corner of your eye, you see Junmyeon roll his eyes. If Heechul noticed, he didn't say anything. "Thanks in advance!"
"Junmyeon used to do that? On his own?" You ask Heechul, seeing that your boyfriend was currently wishing he wasn't there at the moment.
"Yeah! His pride was so big, he would refuse any help." Heechul chuckles. You look at him for confirmation, to which Junmyeon nods slightly, cheeks pink. It makes you swell with adoration, and you know he feels it because his face gets even redder.
"He's big in other places, too." You tell Heechul, smiling. Junmyeon has such a big heart. You'd know, after the few months you've gotten to know him. It's one of the first things you learned about him.
"Is he now?" Heechul asks, looking shocked at the both of you. "Well, I hope you enjoy your work, today, then." He says vaguely, then he walks into his house and leaves you guys to your business.
"Great job, _____." Junmyeon sighs, his shoulders sagging dramatically. "I hope you're ready for a long, tiring day." Though he looks irked with you, he's still blushing, but you don't know why.
"You hope I'M ready? You're not coming with me?" You ask, horrified. You decide to ignore the blush.
"Of course I'm coming with you." He sighs again, looking helpless. "I wouldn't let you go in the forest without me, anyways." You let this fact comfort you more than it should before grabbing his gloved hand again. "Oh, hold on," He says, taking his hand back and ridding his glove. He takes your hand again, sliding yours off, too, before lacing your fingers and shoving them in his pocket. "There." He says proudly.
"You're such a dork." You blush, pulling him along and hoping he doesn't say anything about your racing heartbeat. Though, you know he's too happy about getting his revenge on making you embarrassed to ruin the mood.
(♫) Don't ya buy me nothin', 'cause I am feelin' one thing: your lips on my lips, that's a merry merry Christmas.
The into the forest takes at least half an hour on its own, and finding trees that actually have mistletoe on it takes another four. "It's been forever and we've only collected sixteen." You complain, kicking up some dead leaves with your boot.
"One of the many reasons why I stopped doing it." Junmyeon replies not too far away, standing on the tips of his toes to pick one he just spotted.
"And it's getting colder." You add.
"Yet another reason." Junmyeon says. But, you made a promise to Heechul, so you'll have to deal with whatever comes your way to keep it. "Hey, come and look at this." Junmyeon calls suddenly, and you pause your search in the trees to go to him.
"What is it?" You ask him, creeping up to his side and looking down where he's staring. "I don't see anything."
"No, no, look up." He chuckles, pointing above you two. You do, then give him a weird glance. "There's a mistletoe up there." He says the obvious.
"Yeah, but it's too high. We can't get it." You shrug.
"I can," He says, looking like he's been waiting for this opportunity. "I'm a werewolf, remember? I can climb this tree, easy." When he saunters up to the trunk, you lift an eyebrow suspiciously.
"Were you really so desperate to show off your strength to me?" You ask him when he starts climbing. He spares you a cute laugh that says you're completely right, and you humor him by waiting for him to get to the top. When he's there, he plucks the mistletoe from its branch and waves it at you excitedly. "Good job, babe, I'm so proud of you!" You shout sarcastically, which makes him pout and jump down.
You yelp in fear, but he lands on his feet perfectly fine. You gape at him in shock, but he shows no sign of pain, so you assume it'll take more than twenty feet for him to take fall damage.
"You're so mean," He mumbles, stepping closer and bumping your chest with his. You have to tilt your head back in order to look him in the eye (not that you mind). Even though he's pouting, you know he's not mad at you. The atmosphere is too playful. "Time for your punishment."
"I didn't realize we were thi couple." You laugh, making him drop his pout to grin. "What are you going to do, spank me?" You suggest, raising your eyebrows teasingly.
"No," He says seriously, cheeks flaming. "No," He repeats again. "You just need to look up one more time." He says. Confused, but curious, your eyes glance above you to see-- "You haven't walked under one with me yet, so I had to force it a bit."
"A 'bit?'" You laugh, gazing at the mistletoe he was holding above your heads. "You're so desperate." You say without thinking of your words.
"I wouldn't have to be, if you just let me already..." Junmyeon says, and you lower your eyes so that you're looking at him again. Waves of pine needles and rain take over your senses, setting your mind in a foggy haze of calm, and Junmyeon gives you a small reassuring smile. "I've been waiting as patiently as I can, _____, but it's getting harder every day." He reminds you, and you look away from him guiltily.
You know that Junmyeon's canine side makes his emotional attachment to you only that much stronger than normal, and physical affection is just as important as emotional and mental stimulation is. But your dads have been strict on their "no mating" rule (which you assume means no sex). You just decided to not start anything with Junmyeon at all.
Sensing your guilt and stubbornness, he pockets the mistletoe and looks at you seriously. "Let me just hold you for a while, is that okay?" He asks, and you nod your head.
Instantly, you're wrapped up in his warm arms, the smell of wet pine overwhelming you and making your knees weak. "Myeon--" You say worriedly, but he holds you steady and tight, making sure you stay upright. For a long time, the two of you stand that way, embracing the other. When the sun begins to set over the trees, you feel Junmyeon suddenly tilt your head to the side so he can bury his nose in your skin beneath your scarf.
"You smell like the ocean, babe." He whispers, his closed eyelids fluttering and tickling your skin. "You smell so nice." Your fingers squeeze the back of his coat a little tighter when he murmurs, "and you taste like the sweetest fruit I've ever had."
"I 'taste'--?" You reiterate, meaning to pull away, but suddenly something hot and soft wets your neck, shocking you into silence. It takes you a full five seconds to realize it's Junmyeon's tongue, taking languid licks along your skin and making your blood pump. "Junmyeon, hold on--"
"_____..!" He interrupts, gripping your arms desperately. "Pay attention, please." He begs of you, breathing unsteadily. "You know how I feel right now. You can feel it." He's right, you feel how much he needs this, this small bit of touching that's driving you nuts. "You know I won't do anything more. Just this. Please." He whispers, pausing his ministrations for your acceptance.
How can you ever deny him, though? Sorry Dad, you think. "Mm..." You nod, wrapping your arms around his neck instead and squeezing your eyes closed. "Go ahead, Myeon. Do whatever you need."
(♫) We'll cherish all these simple things wherever we may be. Oh, why? 'Cause that's Christmas to me.
By the time you arrive back at Heechul's place, the sun has already set but he's waiting expectantly outside his door. You and Junmyeon haul the bag of mistletoes between you to lighten the load, and when Heechul sees the bag he nearly has an attack from excitement.
"You did it!" He exclaims gratefully, hugging you both before taking the bag and dumping its contents on his porch. He asks how it went and while you and Junmyeon are giving the most vague answers you can muster without suspicion, Heechul begins counting the small plants. In the midst of you explaining how cold you were the entire search, he gasps.
"What is it?" Junmyeon asks anxiously, afraid of any reaction that didn't sound good. "Heechul?"
"There are only fifty two!" Heechul exclaims accusingly, turning to look at them as if they planned this. "We need fifty three for the entire village!" He tells them.
"No way, we counted!" You argue, stepping up to count them over his shoulder, but he doesn't let you.
"Go back and find me one more." He demands the both of you, and you gawk at him in horror.
"Can't this wait? It's already dark, and you know it's dangerous out there at night, especially for _____--" Junmyeon tries to intervene, but to no avail.
"No. You two promised you'd get them to me before the night was over, and I expect you to keep that promise." He thrusts the bag back at them insistently.
"But what about my dad--" You start, but one look from Heechul's stubborn face makes you stop.
"I already had a talk with your dad and Yesung," He explains uncharacteristically calm. "So I'll be seeing you in about, hmm... another hour or two?" He smiles.
"I'm sure we grabbed fifty three!" You complain for the nth time on your way back into the forest. You're not even completely in the mistletoe area before Junmyeon stops walking. "What are you doing? You're wasting our time. I don't want to be out here at night--"
"Wait, shh." He shushes you, holding up his hand. Instantly, you shut up and stare in the direction he's looking at. You don't even step closer to him, though you're dying to out of nerves. "What is that?" He asks you, taking your hand and pulling you nearer (much to your relief). "Do you see it?"
You do, if you squint your eyes. There's an odd color mixed in between the far tree branches. If you didn't know better, you would have thought it was... "Oh my gosh, no way!" You murmur, looking at Junmyeon for confirmation. He looks at you in confusion.
"I can sense your emotions, _____, I get that you're excited, but I can't read minds--" Without another second to waste, you pull him along behind you as you run past countless pines, approaching the glaring yellow color ahead of you. "Oh. Oh." You hear Junmyeon exclaim behind you, speeding up more surely.
"Who's is this?" You ask aloud when you both enter the small clearing, just big enough to fit the parked car. The back doors are wide open, lit up with Christmas lights and stuffed with soft things like pillows and blankets. As you walk closer, Junmyeon takes a wary look around. "From Heechul," You pick up a note stuck under the tire and read it out loud. "'You two kids have fun celebrating. I heard you complaining about the lights from across the village, _____."
There's more on it, but you don't read it out loud in fear of Junmyeon's reaction. Of course, you should have known that was futile.
"Why are you so shy all of sudden?" He asks, peeking over your shoulder at the note.
"No!" You squeak, tearing it up and shoving it in your mouth. He gawks at you in disgust, but you shrug. It was only sure-fire way that he wouldn't know. "Don't read it." You say lamely with a full mouth.
"Alright, I won't, but spit that out, it's nasty." He says, holding out his hand. Misunderstanding, you drop the saliva covered ball of paper from your mouth onto his palm. He gasps in horror.
"What! What!?" You exclaim, just as flustered. "Didn't you tell me to spit it there?!"
"No!" He yelps, dropping the paper on the dead grass and wiping his hand on his jeans. "I was asking for your hand."
"Oh..." You say, flushing and even more embarrassed. "A-Anyways, Heechul said he brought this out for us." You smile, hoping to change the subject. You climb into the back of the van and snuggle into one of the pillows.
"But what about the last mistletoe?" Junmyeon asks worriedly, not wanting to deal with an angry Heechul.
"The note said that if he sent us back, it's because we didn't find this the first time." You explain, slapping the spot next to you so he could hurry up and join you.
"If that's what it said, why'd you act so weird about it?" He questions, raising an eyebrow and finally climbing inside beside you.
Biting back a groan of frustration because the topic was brought back up, you ignore his inviting open arms and lean into the pillow beside you instead. "Because there was more, obviously." You roll your eyes.
"Tell me," He whines, giving up on trying to be sweet about. He leans his weight on your side, so much so that you both topple over, pulling his feet up into the van and turning into a ball. "Tell me now.~"
"Myeon," You exclaim, exasperated with this man. "Fine, I'll tell, but get off me." You say desperately, trying to catch your breath under his weight.
"I can't be on top of my girlfriend anymore?" He replies smartly, making you turn red again.
"You're making me not want to tell you," You admit, but when he doesn't relent, you figure you have nowhere to run. It's only be a hassle to avoid the conversation any longer, so you give in. "Heechul said..." You look away from him, your face emitting waves of heat. "...to enjoy ourselves."
Junmyeon makes a funny face. "You already told me that, though."
"No, I was just summarizing it." You say hastily, shaking your head. "He meant... enjoy ourselves. To, 'do what nature asks of us.'" You enunciate, not wanting to have to say it word for word for him to understand.
"'Do what nature...?'" After a moment of contemplation, he understands, but not because of your inflection. It's because of your scents. "O-Oh," He stutters, getting a whiff of your fruity ocean scent and growing dizzy. It's a good thing he's lying on you, or else he'd fall over. Or is it a good thing? He can't seem to get away from you now.
"He's not a werewolf, but he must know I started mating season early." He rambles to keep himself distracted.
"'Mating season?'" It's one of the many things you've heard repeatedly in the Kim household, but don't know the meaning of. Just by the name, you can assume what it is, though. "Why didn't you tell me?" You ask, heart pounding a little faster. You guess it makes sense as to why Junmyeon's been clingier than ever the past few weeks.
"You should have noticed," He says. Then, thoughtfully, adds, "Well, maybe not. I don't know how humans work." He nuzzles his nose suddenly, much like a dog, into the crook of your neck, making you hold your breath nervously.
No mating, you hear your dad's voice in your head.
No mating in my house, you also remember Yesung saying. Well, you're not in the house, and your dad never specified anything...
"I don't think this is a good idea," You start, before you lose your own self control. Having him so close to you is messing with your thoughts. "Move, Myeon." You demand, pushing on his shoulders slightly.
For a moment, you're afraid he's going to say "trust me" again, but after a second, he climbs off of you with great effort. You watch him scoot to the other edge of the blankets, pulling his knees to his chest like he's trying to physically collect himself.
"You're welcome," He mumbles, having felt the rush of gratitude from you. Then, after a depressing silence, he says, "Maybe I should be put on lock down next time, since you're so keen on avoiding me."
"Junmyeon..." You sigh defeatedly. "You know the rules."
"I know." He replies curtly. "But it was your fault anyways."
"MY fault?" You ask, growing upset for being accused of something you weren't aware of. "How is it my fault? Isn't it your mating season?" You ask him.
"Yes, but you jump started it!" He yells back, swiping his arm. You stare at him anxiously, before he breathes in deeply and curls in on himself again. "Watch what you say around me if you're so scared I'll do something." He mutters.
You drop your jaw in disbelief at his words, feeling wronged in every way. "I don't think you'll do something to me, Junmyeon," You argue, voice rising. Stop while you can _____, you hear yourself think. Once you're mad, you usually do things you regret.
"No?" He retorts, glaring at you for the first time since you've met him. "Then why are you so afraid when I touch you?"
"I'm not--"
"Yes you are!" He cuts you off loudly, his face coloring slightly. "I can feel it, _____, no matter how much you try to pretend it's not there." He says, and you stare at him in horror. "You're afraid of me touching you, because you think I'll take advantage of you!"
"No!" You scream, wanting him to shut up. He does, seeing your outburst and probably feeling your rage. "No, I would never think you'd do that, Junmyeon!" You shout, gripping the pillows beside you. How could he think that, after everything? "I don't like you touching me because I'm afraid I’ll lose it! I want to follow this rule our parent's set, and if you're always tempting me to go further, what am I supposed to do, then?!" You admit, and you're not sure if your face is hot because of your shouting or because you're embarrassed about it. It's true, Junmyeon has been tempting lately, even when he's not trying. It scares you. you scare you. How can someone want somebody else so badly?
Junmyeon doesn't say anything more after that, looking away with a mixed expression and leaving you seething. The two of you sit quietly as the sky grows steadily darker to ironically match the mood, and by the time it's almost pitch black, clouds covering the twinkling stars, you're nearly asleep. Suddenly, Junmyeon gasps.
"_____, look!" He says, crawling over to you to shake you awake.
"What? What?" You ask, still vexed with him but not nearly as explosive. You sit up when he pulls you, rubbing the sleep from your eyes.
"It's snowing," He whispers, and you open your eyes.
Large snowflakes fall gently down from the black sky, no wind to disturb its descent. You move to the edge of the van, twisting your neck to look up. You didn't realize how cold it had gotten, on the verge of sleep for nearly an hour, but you don't even care as you watch the snow fall.
"It's early this year." Junmyeon comments, and you suddenly remember his presence. Glancing at him once before deciding your feet are more interesting, you open your mouth to say something.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you." You tell him softly, as if talking normally would disturb the snowfall. "I-I never meant to make you feel so bad."
"I can't say it made me feel nice..." Junmyeon says just as softly. "But I accept your apology. And I'm sorry, too. I should have just told you how I felt."
"Yes, you should have." You concur.
The Christmas lights reflect off his remorseful eyes as he looks at you, and you wonder if you'll ever be able to stay mad at him. Sure, you were pissed for a longer period this time, but look at you, already forgiving him. It makes you mad all over again, but you get over it.
"Thanks for coming out here with me," You tell him, taking his hand. He watches you play with his fingers instead of looking you in the eye. "You can probably feel it, but I'm so happy I have a boyfriend who cares about my safety and feelings. It's nice." You blush, embarrassing yourself for confessing all this mushy stuff.
"Do you know what else feels nice?" He asks, making the face he makes when he's about to say something playful. Suppressing the need to roll your eyes at him, you hum in question. "Having a girlfriend who's so tempted by me she's afraid of kissing." He laughs.
"Wha-- I'm--!" He's not wrong, but to make fun of the argument you made just an hour ago is... is unfair! "Yeah? Well it's nice having a boyfriend who gets super horny every year and is always begging for my attention!" You say back.
He blinks at you in shock, but is still smiling in amusement. "Is it?" He asks teasingly, and you can't stop your eyes from rolling this time. You grit your teeth in embarrassment, knowing he wasn't done. "Do you like knowing it's your fault, too?" He asks.
"Oh, yeah," You utter, looking at him. "You never told me how it was my fault." Losing his desire for the conversation, he tries to change the topic, but you don't let him off that easy. Saying it was your fault is what started your tiff.
"It's just, you, well," He stammers. You can tell he really doesn't want to let you know, but relents. "Since you told me what was on the note, I guess I owe you one.." He stalls. "Uh, I guess you started to really affect me this morning, when we were on the couch." He says. "But you got me when we visited Heechul." He closes his eyes, ashamed.
"At Heechul's?" You repeat, furrowing your brow in confusion. "How come? We barely touched there."
"It's because of what you said." He groans, covering his face shyly. "How could you say that to him? Now he thinks we've gone and done things!"
"Wait, say what?" You ask, blushing yourself. What could he possibly be talking about? What did you say that would make Heechul think you've "done things"?
"You told him... I was big in other places... too..." He says, muffled by his palms. You blink once, twice, before it clicks in your head that what you said could have been taken in two ways.
"Oh my gosh." You exclaim, covering your mouth. "I didn't mean that. I was talking about your heart! Your heart is big!"
"For you," He says, pulling you against his chest. You tense again, but relax when Junmyeon laughs at you for it. "You're never living that down, honey." He coos, nosing your hair cutely. You growl in embarrassment, but let him hug you (you guess it's not that bad).
(Junmyeon's P.O.V)
As he watches the white puffs fall with you, he realizes that your birthday is not that far away. Soon, you'd be a legal adult and you wouldn't use your parents as an excuse to deny Junmyeon of his flirty attempts. Would you still be hesitant then? Would Junmyeon even care? After tonight, he knows he can (for the most part) keep himself composed during mating season around his mate.
It's only a matter of time before things get serious between you two, and if that happens...
Again, Junmyeon is hit with the knowledge that your life is shorter than his, by a long shot. How many birthdays will he be able to spend with you? Sixty? Seventy? Eighty, if he's lucky. The oldest he's seen a human grow up to is sixty seven, but his dad told him that humans can live to over a hundred, if they're lucky.
Would you still love him, that far ahead? No doubt he'd love you still, no matter how wrinkled you'd get. But, would still love him? Aging slower than you? True, he's only eighteen, but this year was the last one before he stopped growing normally. What will you think of him when your fifty, and he still looks twenty three?
"Junmyeon?" You say, leaning your head back to look up at him. You must have felt his sadness, because your eyes are wide with worry. "Is something wrong?" Should he tell you his concerns? He's learned today that hiding his feelings will only be bad. But... hiding it doesn't mean putting off telling you for a while longer.
"It's nothing," He smiles, trying to rid himself of his thoughts. He thinks about you laughing, instead. "But it's getting dark. I think I should bring you home, before your dad decides to shun me entirely." He chuckles.
"He's still warning you about that time in my bedroom?" You ask, annoyed. "He's such a stickler. What, he doesn't trust his daughter to make the right choices?"
"You don't even trust yourself to make the right choices." Junmyeon reminds you.
"Good point." You laugh.
(The End... or To Be Continued?)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BONUS:
"Are you kidding me?!" After another hour of just enjoying nature, you and Junmyeon finally trekked home, swaddled in your coats and conversing lively. When you visited Heechul's house to thank him for the great time, he flipped. "I sent you back for one mistletoe, and you spent it all wasting it in my van?" He asks, furious.
"Wait, but your note said you'd only send us back if we didn't find the van first!" You exclaim.
"But I told you to find me one more, didn't I?!" He fumes, standing akimbo. "Teens these days, thinking they can escape their responsibilities." He shakes his head disapprovingly. You're about to argue with him about his logic, but you feel Junmyeon's hand on your arm and stop. "Goodnight, you two. I'll just have to skip my own house this season."
Before you can remind him that there's more to the month than just today, he closes his door with a huff. "He'll get over it." Junmyeon reassures you when you look crestfallen. "He can't stay mad at you for something that wasn't your fault."
"I know," You mumble. "But I still feel bad about it." After a moment, Junmyeon smiles at you.
"Come on," He says, tugging your sleeve. "Any longer and your dad might skin me, too."

Creepshow Season 2 Starts Production as the Shudder Series Reveals its Cast
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Creepshow Season 2 is moving ahead with production after a COVID-caused delay froze progress back in March.
Shudder, the horror-centric premium streaming service offshoot of cable channel AMC, has announced that the Atlanta, Georgia production of Creepshow has commenced, putting the show’s second season—ordered this past October—back on track for its 2021 release window. With cameras now rolling, the cast for the second season has been revealed, featuring names such as the Pitch Perfect film franchise’s Anna Camp, AMC’s The Walking Dead regular Josh McDermitt, The Mindy Project’s Adam Pally, Hellraiser film franchise star Ashley Laurence and the venerable star of genre classics The Thing and They Live, Keith David.
The news of the resumed—or, more appropriately, resurrected—production should delight fans of the horror anthology series, which has The Walking Dead executive producer and effects maestro Greg Nicotero as the showrunner and driving creative force in the serial revival of the classic 1982 film of the same name directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King. This is especially the case as AMC recently ordered scripts for a prospective Season 3, although stopped short of an official renewal, especially as Season 2 spent the last six months on the backlog. Thusly, the production announcement signals that the gears will likely start to turn behind the scenes for Creepshow Season 3 as well. As Nicotero lauds of resuming production, also providing an update:
“I’ve never been happier to get behind the camera as I am today. After missing our shoot date in March by just over 48 hours, season 2 of Creepshow hits the ground running as cameras begin to roll. The cast and crew have a level of excitement and enthusiasm I’ve never seen before and it’s inspiring. So many of us in the entertainment industry have been waiting for the day we can begin to do what we do best—to have some fun together creating new worlds, new adventures and new thrills.”
Some details for four episodes (of six,) of Creepshow Season 2—all to be directed by Nicotero—were also provided by way of the official cast list.
“Shapeshifters Anonymous,” written by Nicotero as an adaptation of J.A. Konrath’s short story of the same name, will manifest as a two-episode event, and will star Anna Camp and Adam Pally. The synopsis describes the plot as centering on “an unlucky soul who finds himself in need of a werewolf support group.”
“Pesticide,” written by Frank Dietz (I Hate Kids), will star Keith David, Ashley Laurence and Josh McDermitt. The story centers on “an exterminator [who] makes an infernal bargain”
“Model Kid,” was written by John Esposito (who wrote Season 1 episode “Night of the Paw”). While no director or cast members were revealed, the episode will showcase a story “about a 12-year-old monster fan who turns to hand-built model kits to escape his unhappy reality.”
The first season of Creepshow premiered on Shudder on September 26, 2019, followed by weekly rollouts for each of its 6-episode run to an appropriate Halloween endpoint of October 31. The streaming run achieved acclaim and successful metrics for the burgeoning platform, and also provided much-needed COVID-era content for AMC, which actually kicked off a weekly run of the series this past May. Thus, the now-in-production second season of the series will manifest with another 6-episode run, to be rolled out in similar fashion.

That is the extent of what is known about Creepshow Season 2, with Shudder promising the impending reveal of additional titles, cast and directors.
