Do you have any recommendations for games with fantasy pirates and tactical combat? I've really been enjoying running Pirate Borg, but I'm missing my crunchy strategy mini games. Thanks for everything you do for the community!
Theme: Tactical Pirate Fantasy
Hello friend, so by ‘tactical’ my best guess as to what you’re looking for is games that provide your characters with multiple options when it comes to resolving conflicts, with some options being better than others. This may or may not include maps in combat, but I think it might also include environmental considerations, buffs or de-buffs for using specific pieces of gear, and accounting for range or position when firing a gun.
However, really tactical games are much harder for me to find, probably because there’s so much math that goes into them. I did my best to give you a range of options, but I’m not entirely sure how well any one of these pirate games match your definition of ‘tactical’.

Bilge Rats, by Games by Cass.
Take to The Sea of Mischief and gamble your life away on high seas adventures as ratfolk pirates. Chase buried treasure, hunt wannabe pirate lords, and engage in some all together unsavoury action in Bilge Rats: A Sea of Mischief. This 78 page guide has everything you need to get your adventures on The Sea of Mischief up and running--except for the d6 dice, cups, and pencils you're gonna need. So, dust off your tricorn caps, get your cutlass shined, and get ready to set sail!
Bilge Rats’ form of strategy is probably unlike what you think of when you think of a tactical game, but I think it’s interesting and worth taking a look at! The basic system is centred around a game called “Liar’s Dice”, which involves rolling, bluffing if you don’t succeed, and calling other’s bluffs. You roll a pool of d6’s, with the difficulty being determined by a) the minimum number to beat to be considered a success and b) the number of successes you need to do the thing. As a player you’ll have to decide when a roll is worth bluffing, and if you enter PVP, it’s also about determining when your opponent is bluffing - challenge someone when they’re right, and you’ll pay the cost!
That being said, I think the most tactical part of this game comes into play during naval battles. Your character type is called a “Duty”, which determines your role upon the ship, your order of initiative, and a number of skill values. You’ll also have to consider wind speed, wind direction, and the roughness of the waves every time you engage in combat on a boat, so making strategic choices to improve your odds is probably pretty important.
The Runed Age, by Stormforge Productions.
In a world where magic and technology have fused together, where the limits that man is capable of have been broken, where a man can destroy the world with a stroke of a pen, the poor starve and the rich prosper off the blood of innocence. A world that should be a utopia has been turned by greed and pride into a battlefield where the poor wage war in the shadows for the ambitions of the wealthy. You are one of these scoundrels, these rogues, these pirates who struggle for the sport of the rich to achieve the glory, the riches, the power to break your chains and surpass the limits of The Runed Age.
The Runed Age is built on the Sigil System, a robust d100 roll-under system that allows you to play as narratively or simulationist as you want. The d100 genre of systems is a tried a true roleplaying method, and what sets the Sigil System (and thus the Ruined Age) apart from the rest is its combat and wounds system, which reflects the stresses and rigours of combat on the body to make combat as realistic as possible. This means that every fight in the Runed Age is a gritty, epic and lethal struggle for survival where you need to be prepared to do your best just to outlive your opponent.
The Runed Age is saturated with magic, using Runes as a mechanic to write your own spells. The openness of the system means that players have a lot of control over what they do with their magic, but the game definitely rewards system mastery because every time you try to write a spell, you’ll have to consider fiddly bits like power, range, and control.
When it comes to rolling dice, the system is heavily inspired by Call of Cthulhu. One review I found for this game mentions a possibility for tactical play, so I’m assuming that combat is more survival than CoC. If you want magic to be a significant part of the game, you probably want to check out The Runed Age.
Blood & Thunder, by Black Flag Printing Press.
You are a cutthroat aboard a pirate ship, seeking the fortune and glory that awaits those strong enough to take it. Brave the waterways of Erda and get rich or die trying in this nautical piracy TTRPG.
Lethal combat meets reactive gameplay at the infantry scale. Board, capture, or sink enemy vessels with naval play. Boasting rules for three dimensional range-finding and movement, even a regular swim in the ocean can become a deadly hazard as you're ripped apart by sharks, sea monsters, or something far worse.
Blood & Thunder is definitely fantastical, just judging from the races that you can choose from. Like D&D, your character choices are pre-packaged with stat bonuses and special abilities, but unlike D&D, you us a d100 for most of your rolls. Difficulty levels range from 0-100, with a limit on what you can even attempt to do depending on how high your skill rating is. If you can roll, you’ll aim to roll under your max skill rating.
Character levelling is also strategic; you need to meet certain requirements to take specific careers. Combat is also pretty dependent on a grid map, which I interpret to mean that range and positioning are two factors that you’ll have to consider, as well as an action economy that ensures that you’ll have to make your moves count.
Pirates and Musketeers, by Andrezj Buhlak.
The 17th century was rich in interesting events, political intrigues, bloody wars, and sea voyages. This book is a gateway to this fascinating period of history. If "dry history" is not enough for you, you can spice it up with fantastic assumptions, including vampires, werewolves, sea monsters and ancient ruins.
Pirates and Musketeers uses the Year Zero engine, which provides you with a number of d6s to roll that come from your base traits, character skills, and character gear. You have the ability to “push” your roll should your initial effort fail, which you will likely do often, as only 6’s are considered a success. However, should you “push” (or “re-roll”) your roll, any 1’s that you roll will also inflict penalties, doing damage to a stat or your gear. This means that in many stages of game-play, players will be balancing how much they value success against how many consequences they’re willing to face.
Language-wise, I’m not really a big fan of the way the game uses the term “savages.” The time period in this game is at the strength of many colonial empires, and some of that definitely bleeds through, so pick up this game with caution.
Caraval Crew, by iotsov.
A low fantasy TTRPG that focuses on sailing ships.
Right now, as far as I can tell, Caravel Crew is untested, but it has a lot of pieces for you to pick up and fiddle with. Combat has a lot of different kinds of options for your characters to exploit, with different outcomes if you bash, stab, shoot, parry, grapple, etc. There’s different weapons that are useful for different skills, and getting new weapons costs gold - an important resource to track. You’ll have a number of resources that you’ll need to keep track of and monitor, including hit points and something called EP.
On top of that, there’s also social and survival rules, so if you want a game that gives you engaging combat while still giving thought to other parts of the game, maybe pick up Caraval Crew and take it for a test drive!
24XX Skeleton Crew, by Jonah Boyd.
Dead men DO tell tales… on the other side. Skeleton Crew takes place in the sailor’s purgatory, Davy Jones’ Locker. When one dies at sea, their soul is brought to the Locker for a vast voyage to judge their fate. Some sailors only spend a few days in the Locker, but many form swashbuckling crews to preserve their non-lives for weeks, months, or years before judgement calls.
24XX games are another approach to the OSR (the same house of game design that fuels Pirate Borg), but use different-sized dice to represent a larger skill. I think there’s still more chance than strategy here, but again, this is a game that you could probably pull things from and then put into another system if you’re looking flavour.
The few fiddly bits that do exist in this game are things like different kinds of ships and different toys to put onto the ship - two things that you might be able to tack onto a game that doesn’t currently think about them, and thus opening up more pieces to consider should you get into a fight. Your ship could also come with flaws - what happens if you get in a fire-fight with a ship that has misfiring cannons? How might that complicate the battlefield?
You can also combine this game with another similar 24XX game, such as 14XX Golden Age to broaden your character origins or give yourself a few extra rules toys to play with.
Islands of the Far Sea, by Kindred Spirits, and Lilliputian, by ManaDawn Tabletop Games.
Islands of the Far Sea is a pirate-themed hack of Chris McDowell's Into the Odd, taking place in the Islands of the Oddworld. Play as one of seven Failed Careers in your new days as a Treasure-Hunter!
Lilliputian: Adventure on the Open Seas is an adventure game about exploring the vast and expansive ocean,  filled with uncharted islands, hidden treasure, weird weather and unspeakable horrors. Character creation is fast, fun and random, classless, and relies on fictional advancement. It is based on Mausritter by Isaac Williams, Into The Odd by Chris McDowall and Cairn by Yochai Gal, as-well-as so many more.
Into the Odd and Mausritter use the same bones, and both of these game books acknowledge that inspiration, although Lilliputian also draws quite a bit from Cairn. I don’t consider either of these games to be tactical games - but what they do have is possibilities that can be imported into other games. The Failed Careers from Islands of the Far Sea are packaged skills and gear that you can give a character to start with. They will then have to figure out how to make their kit work for the problems they walk into.
Lilliputian also has specific rules for naval combat, as well as lots and lots of random tables. I think more than anything it communicates a specific vibe, but taking a little bit from one game and a little bit from another is one way to customize your experience - as well as give your players more options when trying to figure out how to tackle their next salty obstacle.

Random modern Earthbound/Mother headcanons that I've been thinking about for a while.
- Picky is an ipad kid and loves skibidi toilet. He's even shown it to Tracy on multiple occasions until she banned him from talking about it
- Lucas' entire family plays Pjsk. (Lucas likes Leo/need, Claus likes Vivid Bad Squad, and Flint likes More More Jump.)
- Ness, Paula, and Jeff play Genshin Impact together. (Ness mains Kokomi, Paula mains Barbara, and Jeff mains Neuvillette)
- Ninten used to be a dsmp fan but now when anyone brings it up he gets incredibly embarrassed.
- Ness and Porky used to watch South Park together.
- Fuel unironically uses brainrot humor.
- Ness has a secret blog where he posts poetry he's written.
- Ana comments bible verses on random posts and comments "God loves you ❤" on every post she sees. (THIS ONES A JOKE BUT ITS FUNNY TO THINK ABOUT)
- Claus believes everything he sees online and Lucas constantly has to tell him things like "No Claus, the power lines are not there to transfer energy to a secret underground base full of lizard people."
- Adding on to the last one, Claus will pay obviously scammy 'psychics' to tell him his future.
- Lloyd likes making visual novel games and will have Ana and Ninten draw sprites for them.
- Porky is in robotics club.
- Jeff is into stock trading and gets a notification every 30 minutes about how the stock market is going.
- Duster watches hopecore videos and cries.
- Kumatora has a TikTok account where she explores abandoned buildings and its actually super popular.
- The only thing Lucas posts on any of his social media is pictures of Boney or any other animal he comes across.
- Ninten never actually does his work in class (he plays nitrotype) yet he has straight B's.
- Ness has CRAAAAZZYYY beef with his gym teacher.
- Jeff and Ness are HUGE Pokemon fans and have played almost every game together.
- Kumatora is a crazy internet sleuth, if they have an online presence then she knows who they are.
- Flint lost his driver's licence and has been too lazy to retake the test to get it re-instated (he just walks everywhere, and Lucas and Claus take the bus to school anyway)
- Poo is a huge fan of musicals and has made Ness, Paula, and Jeff watch Hamilton at least three times
- Paula is super into old convention culture (things like yaoi paddles n shit). Shes a mini-internet historian.
- Ness will make some of his poetry into music (mostly dad-rock or emo music)
- Lloyd is CRAZY GOOD at rhythm games and likes to play fnf
- Ana is addicted to Gacha games, no matter the genre, if you can gamble to get some cute characters then shes there.
- Porky has his own webcomic series that's inspired by Homestuck.
- Jeff likes to make music in his free time from a long list of different styles, his favorite being vaporwave. He's also a huge Vocaloid fan and will make music using a variety of voicebanks (though his favorites are MEIKO and [V3] Flower)
PLEASE GIVE ME UR HEADCANONS.

What exactly ARE the Yakuza games?
Yakuza, also known as Like a Dragon, is a Japanese video game franchise created, owned and published by Sega. The franchise incorporates elements of the action-adventure, beat 'em up, and role-playing genres.
The storyline premise for each franchise installment is typically a crime drama, with plot lines inspired by yakuza films and pre-millennial Japanese crime dramas. The most frequently featured protagonist is Kazuma Kiryu, a reformed yakuza associated with the Kanto-based Tojo Clan. While Kiryu often finds himself working with the leaders of the Tojo Clan to thwart conspiracies aimed against them, the primary theme of the series is his desire to leave the yakuza for good and start over by raising orphans and trying to assimilate into civilian life. The gameplay of Yakuza / Like a Dragon has the player controlling Kiryu (or another character, depending on the title) in an open world where he can fight random groups of punks and gangsters, take on side missions and activities to earn experience and money, learn new moves from non-player characters (NPCs), eat and drink at various restaurants, visit hostess and cabaret clubs, craft items, and engage in a variety of mini games such as golfing, bowling, batting cages, video arcades, karaoke, and gambling games including poker, blackjack, Cee-lo, and Koi-Koi.
The franchise has become a commercial and critical success, and as of 2021, Sega has reported that the video game series has sold a combined total of 19.8 million units in physical and digital sales since its debut in 2005. Strong sales of the games in its original Japanese market has led to the franchise's expansion to other media, including film adaptations.
The Yakuza / Like a Dragon game series is set primarily in the fictional district of Kamurochō (神室町), which is based on Kabukichō, an actual red-light distri

finally have time off work, XAAZZZ did you see the final shape stuff??? What's your thoughts on them? Prismatic looks super interesting and i'm really curious how the guardian will discover it
Just from what I've seen and heard we get it by the end of mission 1. Meaning we're gonna get our ass smacked and thrown into whatever the fuck that shit was in the cutscene so we come out super charged.
I think its REALLY! COOL!! I'm really excited to use a big Strand/Solar build since those are my two fave Hunter sub classes. Maybe doing damage with tangles will proc your Gunpowder Gamble 👀👀👀👀👀 Calus Mini Tool/Quicksilver (or Rufus' Fury) supremacy!
Bungie really went 'bet' when they heard all the bitching and moaning about Lightfall and how 'boring' the game is or whatever. They cooked man. Bungie fucking cooked with this expac. Prismatic. NEW ENEMY RACE. Exotic perk mixing. They've been in the kitchen for a while now and god the meal they are making looks so fucking good. I am gonna be biting people if there's complaining. Lightfall was good. Final Shape is gonna be: insane.

Smiling Critters Theory Part 2 (KickinChicken and CraftyCorn)
I'm continuing with my previous post, so let's just start. KickinChicken is known as the cool kid of the group. On his cardboard cutout, he suggests the player that they should go outside and hang outside but also say he had never been outside before. This is in reference to how the orphans weren't allowed to go outside fully but rather a fake one that playtime Co. Created. Since KickinChicken was likely a bigger body experiment , it's interesting for him to say he's never been outside before because it would've been or at least in the fake one. The only solution is that KickinChickin and another smiling critter (possibly bubba bubbaphant) manage to get out where they are the front entrance, KickinChicken being the cool and confident decides to go out first. KickinChicken is killed first by most likely CatNap than is served him to PickyPiggy.
CraftyCorn is the shy and sweet unicorn that loves to be creative. In their cardboard cutouts, CraftyCorn asks for certain colours where it seems like they are probably painting something. However, there's one specific colour that she needs, and that is red. You hear her attacking someone since they are discussing red. They are actually talking about blood. CraftyCorn is a perfect example of losing their sanity through what they were created for. While her cardboard cut-out doesn't exactly give us any information on her death. It's most likely that they tried to escape and are stopped by catnap where they were food offering for PickyPiggy as a warning to the other smiling critters.
I don't really need to analyse DogDay and CatNap since we know what happened to them. Its possible that the reason why DogDay survive longer than the others because just like his canine counterpart, he obeyed the rules and understood what happened if they tried to escape. DogDay gets his legs sawed off instead of death, and this could also be the mini smiling critters can use him as a vessel just in case unwanted people or things go over there.
CatNap is electrocuted, which parallels what happened to Theo Gamble, which caused them to start the experiments and put Theo in CatNap. I do believe that CatNap offered himself to the prototype. Since we know what happened to them, we also need to ask where they went? Throughout the game, you see dead bodies of the toys across the factory. It's heavily implied that the prototype is collecting toys parts from dying or dead toys. We see it happened with mommy long legs where we see a metallic hand takes the upper half of mommy long legs. So, if the prototype was collecting the parts of Beary BearHug, Hoppy Hopscotch, and PickyPiggy, then we at least should have seen some of the body parts around playtime Co.
That's because the prototype never collected them for himself but rather food for the orphans that are trapped underground. Throughout the playcare, you will see the vending machine, but you'll notice that the vending machine still has food. It looks as though the vending machine hasn't been touched in years. So, if they weren't the food in the vending machines, then it's likely they were given parts of the smiling critters to the orphans.
There are two questions we need to answer: How would the orphans even eat the bigger body version of the smiling critters? And why would the prototype or even catnap feed them something like that? Well, it's heavily implied that human organs are the biggest factor for the bigger body toys to come to live. While walking through home sweet home, we hear a news reporter mentioning how a body of a boy was found at the front of Elliot Ludwig's house. The organs were missing.
While you could say that we were hallucinating because we did go through the red smoke, it is likely that the player has heard about this around time with Elliot Ludwig's passing. So, it's possible that the orphans were eating the organs. It's not that far-fetched for humans to eat animals like pigs and rabbits. But what's most disturbing is that the bigger bodies of the smiling critters could've been children themselves.
Cannibalism has been mentioned many times in the games. The dead toys like around, Miss Delight eating her sisters to survive, The bigger body toys who have subconscious of humans eating the bodies of the employees to survive,PickyPiggy eating three of her friends and two of Thomas Clarke's organs through Bron Dinosaur were devoured.
From this information, it is most likely that they were changing diets of the kids to get them used to human meat. We see this through Boxy Boo was the first successful of the bigger bodies initiative and was used to eliminate any employees that got too close. Rowan Stoll was the unlucky person. The way that Boxy Boo grabbed him so quickly shows that this isn't the first employee that was offered to Boxy Boo as food.
Because the prototype and the other bigger bodies have been abused. The abuse really took a toll on them, especially on the prototype, who was around the longest that they were brainwashed to believe that cannibalism was the best for them. So it's likely that's what they are doing with the orphans have been trapped underground.

las vegas airport
ok being real this is why i made this blog.
i HATE the los vegas airport. specifically this is the worst when it comes for disabled people. not enrolled in the sunflower program. constantly having music playing, and sometimes people just smoke while playing the slot machines IN THE AIRPORT
can i mention that? their are slot machines IN THE AIRPORT…. they are next to the terminals so they are blasting their squid game slot machine in earshot of the seating of seating. look, i understand its vegas, but cant you have a separate room for that? if you really wanted it just make a mini casino attached instead of next to everything.
i understand, you might feel differently than me since i do hate that gambling is normalized here to the point in this sensory hell unwalkable town. that if you ever wanted to go to this place just as a layover, you gotta see at least 300 slot machines blasting squid game, bull themed, or wednesday addams machines.
the only saving grace for this place of hell on earth is that they have good food and the places to sit all have chargers for the most part. they also have some walking escalators for the longer stretches which does save this airport from the pits of the mariana trench, elevating it to the japan trench, maybe the seafloor if you are kind.
planners i hope you are proud of what you done, made your airport just as vile as the city itself for disabled people.

So some more details for Kirby and The Circle of Time:
Some lore I'm including for this is that Kirby and Zero both spawned from Void in its orb state, whereas Eifilis spawned from Void in its beast/Termina form. As such, Kirby and Zero warp space in order to surpass time,,whereas Eifilis warps time in order to surpass space. Kirby and Zero also act more like blackholes,,whereas Eifilis acts more like a sun.
Marx here is still very chaotic neutral. He's helping the main crew because "Kirby owes him a ten tier cake." Of course, that partially a lie, for he does care for Kirby. He still wants that cake, though.
Magolor acts as the party shopkeep and the sort of... lore keeper of the group. He appears at random locations,,selling various upgrades for party members and also dropping hints at lore for this game.
Shadow Kirby plays a huge part in saving our Kirby.
Hi Winter!
Elfilis as an offspring of Void! Oooh, I've never heard of that before! I really like it!
Plus "warping space in order to surpass time" "warping time in order to surpass space" Hello?! That is SO cool sounding?!
Plus the black hole/sun comparison!
I love your description of Marx's motivations, his false ones and his real ones! And I've always thought Magolor would be a great RPG shopkeeper! I'm glad someone's going through with that!
Tumblr media
As for shifting the project...
You know, there's nothing wrong with that. Programs like RPG Maker (not sure if you were thinking that or not) are supposed to make it very easy to make an RPG but... that's only an RPG if you're using their resources. I should know, I tried to make one for a different fandom I was in.
I ran out of resources about one town in and found I was spending sooo much time making custom stuff I wasn't progressing on it at all. (And that's ignoring the time spent making custom character sprites/portraits for my party.)
And if it's story-based/has a good story (as I believe it does, based on what you've told me) then you're not losing much by writing it as a fanfic! Just some random battles, and who needs those, right?
...I do wonder about Nintendo take downs though. I've heard they can be brutal, but there's another Kirby RPG project that just came back from the dead and Gamble Galaxy (?) Stories didn't seem to run into any trouble. It's true that would be a really awful way for your project to end though.
(That's partially why, for my own Kirby fan game, I've been thinking I might just work on it entirely in the background. Not doing anything more public than the kind of vague hints I've dropped before.
And then, when it's done, just drop the thing on social media *BAM* and run!! Hope that people circulate the tapes after the ninjas get to me! They may take down The Crazy Idea, but at least the version traded back and forth on secret Discords will be the full version, and not a demo doomed to be forever unfinished!)
Tumblr media
As for your last ask...
God, I would love that! Honestly, I feel like that is a worthy fan-game project all on its own! I don't know how complex it would be, as Chao Garden seems to have stuff in it that people are still figuring out to this day (?) but Chao Garden as a (mini) game really ought to have dozens and dozens of spiritual sequels.
I think what makes it stand out from other "collect cute pets" game like Neko Atsume or that recent bunny island game that just came out IS the interaction element. You can walk around and tour the garden on your own two feet. You're not just collecting adorable PNGs.
But given that Waddle Dees are already shown to have slight color variation in Kirby and the Forgotten Land.. plus Key Dees and Golden Dees... And oh, giving Waddle Dees little animal features!!
Yes, that would be good.
If it's not in the cards for the fandom to make, maybe HAL will grace us with a mini-game similar to that down the line...!\

And day two of @ygoc-week is where things truly begin to spiral!!
Happy day yall, and welcome to the first iteration of "Kay is a little insane when writing character backstories"! GX is not exempt from the rule unfortunately,,
I've mentioned in a previous post that Musa shares similar elements with Manjome lore wise, and I'll just cut to the chase on that one:
What if...instead of two shitty older siblings...there were THREE instead?
The ramble begins under the cut, CW: for psychological abuse, manipulation, implied physical harm and trauma
Musa is a member of the Vogel family, part of a large conglomerate of entertainment companies and, most notably, the global enterprise of Vanity Entertainment— a casino ring. She’s the youngest of four children by over half a decade, with her older siblings Ryland, Boris and Amano all already having made significant business moves at around her age and were successfully integrated into the franchise and its way of life. Under the influence of her parents, two hardcore business moguls and openly shifty people, she and her siblings were taught to play games to win, no matter what— bend the rules, hide details between the lines, never let them know your next move, or see weakness. Musa was the only one to find the moral flaw in what she was taught; she found it early, and she didn’t like it at all.
“But Mum, this is cheating! You can’t cheat in a game; that’s not fair and no fun!”
Simply put, the rest of her family didn’t approve of her having a conscience and ensured she knew that.
By her preschool days, she was considered the family scapegoat. Her siblings would treat her like a mini servant and tormented her until she became jaded, almost robotic. She couldn’t show her feelings because if she did, they would use it against her.
Never let them see your weakness.
She lived a life of straight obedience until something caught her eye, when her school went on a trip to the orchestra. The music was so powerful to her that she was crying the entire way home, both from the intense emotion she felt from the musicians and the fact she knew her family would disapprove.
And they did.
“Music? What a joke. You’re a Vogel, not some low-class noisemaker.”
“But I love it, I want to pursue it. Is that not enough? Is business not just a bunch of chances?”
“There is no profit in music, Musa—nothing to be gained.”
But she was persistent, and they saw that. Thus, instead of removing music from her life, her parents gave her an offer—if she was consistently on top academically, she could pursue music in her spare time. They intended to exhaust her physically and mentally to the point of ruining music for her forever, but the stakes only fueled her passion further. Despite being at her breaking points for years, she put her mind into school and her heart into music, all the while still being subjected to the shame cycle and bullying of her siblings (especially since now they had something to hold over her head).
By the time she was to enter high school, she was a top scholar and the musical prodigy she was meant to be. However, by now, her parents had shifted their business plan to incorporate Duel Monsters tournaments into their gambling halls and needed a way to promote it to the world…
…in came Musa, who picked up the game quickly after they introduced it to her (even finding a lot of fun when she discovered her Divas) and proved to be the perfect pawn. Send her to school for the game, train her into an unbeatable champion, and use her as an attraction to get even more money from the scheme.
And while Musa is entirely aware of this plan, she is getting out of their reach by going to Duel Academia. She would be miles from them and free to enjoy her games and music peacefully. Or, so she would’ve thought if she wasn’t presented with a contract before she left:
“If you were ever to lose a duel, and we find out, you will be pulled from the academy, banned from playing the game, and we will lock you away in complete silence for the rest of your life.”
…she wouldn’t have believed it if it wasn’t written on paper, and they wouldn’t have put it there if they didn’t mean it.
She wasn’t allowed to leave until she signed the contract, so she did.
But she kept it in mind and, as she was taught, worked around it. She spoke to the Chancellor on the first day of classes and showed him the contract, offering him her clause: only duels she participated in at a duel field would be counted on her record. This allowed her to duel freely whenever she wanted without consequence, and only the data from her assessment duels would be reported to her parents.
And since she was a star pupil and quite the big deal, he agreed.
So, she spent about a year and a half in peace, somewhat, her losses never being disclosed to anyone and establishing her as “the Queen of Ra” with an undefeated record.
…until Asuka was converted to the Society of Light, and Musa was elected to try and break the brainwashing through a duel…in the stadium…
…and she lost because Asuka played dirty, using cards Saiou gave her.
As she approached Musa to welcome her to the Society, she was instead met with the most despaired look and spiteful sneer possible.
“...there is no light, not for me…you’ve just killed me, Tenjoin.”
Later in the arc, most likely after Manjome is freed, an incident similar to what he went through occurs for Musa. Her siblings arrive, unannounced, coming to claim Musa and bring her home. By now, she told the gang about what happened, and they’re quick to come to her defense, especially Kenzan, who is physically blocking Amano from touching her.
“You signed the contract, Muuuuusey~! There’s no way out of iiiiiiit~!”
“...actually, there is.”
“H–Huh??”
She put her foot down and told them that contracts didn’t matter on the island, but duelling did.
“I won’t leave unless you can defeat me in a duel, that simple. I will even take two of you at once.”
She immediately came to regret that moment of confidence on their way to draw up a contract for the challenge, realizing that while she could out-duel them, she in no way had the emotional strength to handle it. Her whole life was on the line, and she was against her tormentors; they knew exactly how to get a rise out of her.
“Then I’ll duel with you.”
“You– what?”
“You heard me, saurus. Let’s make it a tag duel, and I’ll duel with you. They don’t know a thing about me, but you and I are friends. I’m not gonna let you go into hell by yourself, Musey.”
“...they will make you sign–”
“And? What of it? The Musa I know ain’t scared of a piece of paper, saurus. If you can’t stand up to them yourself, lean on me and we’ll win together.”
“...and you are willing to take the risk?”
“If it’ll save my friend from going down, I’d do anything.”
“...alright.”
Something something they draw up a contract something something they sneak in a hidden clause that gets Musa emancipated from the family something something they duel and destroy both of her brothers with a cool and epic fusion monster (an idea i have in my head of a prehistoric music diva called Crescendo the Cretaceous Conductor) something something Musa cries for the first time in years and Kenzan nearly crushes her in a hug something something Musa is now in love haha whoopsie
In my mind there's an entire episode planned with the title "A Lesson in Duel Etiquette" and that alone makes me kinda hyped,,
SO, uh, moral of the story?? Fuck the Vogel family, all my homies hate the Vogel family.

Released by Stern Pinball in 2001, High Roller Casino immerses players in the thrilling world of Las Vegas gambling. Designed by Jon Norris and featuring vibrant artwork by John Youssi and Constantino Mitchell, this casino-themed pinball machine captures the glitz and glamour of a bustling Vegas establishment.
The gameplay includes elements of classic casino games such as poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps, all creatively integrated into the pinball experience. Players have the chance to "gamble" their points in these mini-games, pursuing high scores through strategic, high-risk decisions. The design features numerous ramps and targets that simulate different casino activities, along with several multiball modes to keep the action engaging and dynamic.
A unique aspect of the machine is its functional slot machine mechanism at the center of the playfield, complete with spinning reels and a digital display, enhancing the gambling atmosphere. The primary objective is to light up the neon casino-themed lights on the playfield, progress through the games, and build points to reach high roller status.
Accompanied by casino-inspired sounds, flashy light shows, and a voiceover that guides and taunts players through their journey, the table offers a fun and immersive experience that mirrors the thrill of Vegas gambling.
In its digital incarnation within The Pinball (and The Stern) Arcade collection, the table continues to delight players, faithfully replicating the physical game's playfield, mechanics, and audio. This digital version extends the reach of the classic table, allowing a new generation of players to enjoy its challenges and preserving its place in pinball history.
On a personal note, this table is a standout—definitely in my top five favorite pinball machines. It’s deceptively simple at first glance, with early gameplay allowing you to rack up a substantial score quickly, which might mislead you into thinking it’s an easy ride. However, that's far from the case. This table demands precise nudging skills, especially due to the kickers situated in the lower half of the playfield, which propel the ball at high speeds, significantly increasing the chances of the ball draining through the outlanes.
It’s frustrating, to say the least. A proactive strategy is to nudge the table when the ball is in the upper area, steering it away from danger and toward the flippers, which helps in keeping the ball in play. Managing the ball in the inlane between the flippers is challenging but definitely manageable.
Once you navigate through these challenges and hit the 300 - 350 million point range, the table really opens up. You're rewarded with a slew of bonuses, multiball modes, and more, allowing you to fully enjoy the excitement and depth this fantastic machine offers.

4. A Story Idea You Haven’t Written Yet
Another story that I’m still developing but has a near and dear place in my heart is a Fantasy AU, following Four Kingdoms whose treaty of peace might be shattered on the anniversary of its signing with the introductions of not just the Miraculouses, but Monarch and his Akumas.
While some Holders of the Miraculous like Ladybug and Chat Noir want to keep the peace, others, like the persistent Monarch or the elusive Cobalt King, seem only interested in power. However some, like Flairmidable, keep their intentions close to the chest.
Kagami, as both Crowned Heiress and Dragon Holder Ryuko, explores both sides of the tension, and refuses to let her past relationship with Crowned Prince Félix impair her judgment.
This is. Probably one of my biggest ‘Félix is having a terrible time’ AUs. You may or may not be able to guess why based on the mini summary I gave. But either way, I really wanna see if I can bring it to life one day!!
8. If You Had To Write A Sequel To A Fic, You’d Write One For…
Either ‘Stay With The Herd’, ‘Your Favorite Actor’, and/or ‘It’s A Risk, It’s A Gamble’ could all easily get a follow up and at least one of them will! I promise they’re gonna beat Gabriel up onscreen on day!
Thank you again!!!!

BIG Games has a much BIGGER gambling problem
Pet Simulator X had its fair share of drama. However, there is a problem when it comes to lootboxes -- people dislike them. However, if you have played though Pet Simulator X during the easter egg event, you can clearly understand how hard it can be to collect all the gems needed to get a huge pet.
Tumblr media
The Diamond Mine Cave is a start for those trying to collect diamonds, but can not afford to spend money on them. Unfortunately, in order to access the 1st mine, you need to spend 1 hour playing Pet Sim X. This, on its own, can be time consuming. However, collecting the diamonds in the caves can be time-consuming. However, in order to reach the final cave, you need to release one of your huge pets, which as most Pet Simulator X gamers would probably know, means removing it from your inventory forever. Of course, this led to some massive backlash from the community.
As I looked even deeper down the rabbit hole, I discovered something. As you try to climb the clouds (which you can stand on by standing on the bounce pad in front of the spawn area), you can spot a mini shop where you can buy rare pets. And by rare, I mean 3 question marks that do not indicate the chances at all.
Tumblr media
It's really upsetting -- especially to believe that the chances of getting some of the huge pets are unknown, and bear in mind that this is purchasable through Robux.
Alright, fair enough. Let's look at the Paid Random Items section on the Community Guidelines again. What does it say now..
Tumblr media
Wait, so that means that these flashing colorful question marks were not supposed to be there??? This is insane!
Basically, not only is there a bug in PSX that managed to outrage the entire community, but now we have a rule-breaker on our hands.

What is Pos4D Slot Game?
Pos4D is an online slot game that combines elements of traditional slot machines with more modern, interactive features. Like most slot games, the objective is simple: players spin the reels and try to match symbols across different pay lines. The game is part of the broader Pos4D gaming platform, which offers various betting and gambling options, including lotteries, sports betting, and other casino games.
The Pos4D Slot Game distinguishes itself with its vibrant graphics, smooth gameplay, and enticing bonuses. Whether you're completely new to online slots or an experienced player, Pos4D offers a balanced experience that caters to all skill levels.
Tumblr media
How to Play Pos4D Slot Game
Getting started with Pos4D Slot Game is easy, even for beginners. The game follows the general structure of most slot machines, where players spin a set of reels, and if specific symbols line up, they win prizes. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to begin:
Choose Your Bet Size: Before you spin, you need to decide how much you want to bet. Pos4D allows players to adjust their bet size depending on their budget, making it accessible for both low-stake and high-stake players.
Spin the Reels: Once you've placed your bet, click the spin button to set the reels in motion. The reels will stop after a few moments, and the game will automatically determine if you've hit a winning combination.
Check the Paylines: Paylines are the specific combinations of symbols that result in a win. Pos4D offers multiple paylines, increasing your chances of landing a winning combination. Some games may allow you to choose how many paylines to activate.
Bonuses and Features: One of the key attractions of Pos4D Slot Game is the various bonuses and special features, such as free spins and multipliers. These bonuses can significantly boost your winnings and make the game more exciting.
Payouts: If you land a winning combination, the game will automatically credit your account with your earnings. The size of the payout depends on the symbols you matched, the size of your bet, and the paylines activated.
Symbols and Paylines
Understanding the symbols and paylines is essential for maximizing your chances of winning in Pos4D. Each symbol in the game has a different value, with some offering higher payouts than others. Common symbols in the game might include classic icons like fruits, bells, or themed symbols that match the game's aesthetic.
The paylines refer to the specific ways in which the symbols can be arranged on the reels to trigger a win. Some games offer a fixed number of paylines, while others allow players to adjust the number of active paylines. Generally, the more paylines you activate, the higher your chances of winning—but it also increases your bet amount.
Bonuses and Special Features
One of the most exciting aspects of the Pos4D Slot Game is its bonuses. These bonuses can range from free spins to special mini-games that offer additional chances to win. Some common bonuses include:
Free Spins: Players can earn free spins by landing specific symbols or combinations. Free spins allow you to spin the reels without using your own money, while still having the chance to win.
Multipliers: Some games include multiplier bonuses that can double, triple, or even further multiply your winnings. This feature can significantly boost your overall payout, especially when combined with free spins.
Wild Symbols: Wild symbols can substitute for other symbols on the reels, helping to complete winning combinations.
These features not only make the game more exciting but also offer additional opportunities to win, making Pos4D Slot Game particularly appealing to players.
Tips for Beginners
If you're new to the Pos4D Slot Game, here are a few tips to help you get started:
Start Small: It’s a good idea to begin with smaller bets, especially while you're learning the game. As you become more comfortable, you can gradually increase your bets.
Know the Paytable: Familiarize yourself with the paytable, which shows the value of each symbol and the possible winning combinations. This will give you a better understanding of which symbols to look out for and how the game rewards winners.
Take Advantage of Bonuses: Many online casinos offer bonuses for new players, such as free spins or bonus money. Take advantage of these promotions to get more value from your initial deposit.
Manage Your Bankroll: Set a budget for how much you're willing to spend, and stick to it. Gambling can be fun, but it's important to avoid chasing losses.
Conclusion
The Pos4D Slot Game is an engaging and exciting online slot game that appeals to both novice and experienced players. Its vibrant graphics, numerous bonus features, and potential for large payouts make it a popular choice among slot enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for a casual gaming experience or hoping to win big, Pos4D provides a dynamic and enjoyable platform. By following this beginner's guide and familiarizing yourself with the game's features, you'll be well on your way to enjoying all that Pos4D has to offer.

Southern California wildfire burns so intensely that it creates its own weather (CNN) Thousands of Southern California residents were forced from their homes Saturday after an explosive wildfire grew thousands of acres in size in mere hours—and is burning so intensely that it is creating its own weather in the form of pyrocumulus clouds. These clouds can create erratic winds that push the fire outward, which is contributing to the fire’s spread. If fires burn hot enough, the clouds can produce lighting and rain, called pyrocumulonimbus. They can reach heights of 50,000 feet and generate their own systems of thunderstorms. The Line Fire, which began about 53 hours ago in San Bernardino County, has burned more than 17,237 acres—up from nearly 7,000 acres just a few hours earlier.
On the streets of a Colorado city, pregnant migrants struggle to survive (AP) She was eight months pregnant when she was forced to leave her Denver homeless shelter. It was November. Ivanni Herrera took her 4-year-old son Dylan by the hand and led him into the chilly night, dragging a suitcase containing donated clothes and blankets she’d taken from the Microtel Inn & Suites. It was one of 10 hotels where Denver has housed more than 30,000 migrants, many of them Venezuelan, over the last two years. First they walked to Walmart. There, with money she and her husband had collected from begging on the street, they bought a tent. They waited until dark to construct their new home along a busy thoroughfare in Aurora, the next town over, a suburb known for its immigrant population. That night, temperatures dipped to 32 degrees. And as she wrapped her body around her son’s to keep him warm enough that he could sleep, Ivanni Herrera cried. Over the past two years, a record number of families from Venezuela have come to the United States seeking a better life for themselves and their children. Instead, they’ve found themselves in communities roiling with conflict about how much to help the newcomers—or whether to help at all. Unable to legally work without filing expensive and complicated paperwork, some are homeless and gambling on the kindness of strangers to survive. Some have found themselves sleeping on the streets—even those who are pregnant.
Venezuela’s Presidential Contender Flees, and Hopes for Democracy Dim (NYT) The news that Edmundo González, Venezuela’s opposition candidate, had fled the country on a Spanish Air Force plane this weekend took the country, and the world, by surprise. The past year has been marked by months of repression leading up to a disputed presidential election. The vote was followed by a brutal crackdown by the authoritarian government of President Nicolás Maduro. Still, many Venezuelans held out hope that through a negotiated exit the socialist-inspired administration might step aside and let Mr. González, a soft-spoken former diplomat, assume power. His departure on Saturday narrowed that slim possibility even further. And it came as Venezuelan security forces surrounded the Argentine diplomatic residence in Caracas where six top opposition leaders have been taking shelter since March.
France waves farewell to its sporting summer at the Paralympics closing ceremony (AP) This time, it really is au revoir. A summer sporting bonanza which started under pouring rain on July 26 with a remarkable opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics on the Seine River ended Sunday with the Paralympics closing ceremony at a rain-soaked Stade de France. It lowers the curtain on successful back-to-back Games that captivated fans and raised the bar high for others to follow. Good luck Los Angeles in 2028.
A mini Russia emerges in Serbia as thousands flee war (Reuters) On a sweltering summer morning in Serbia’s capital Belgrade, Vadim Morus, a professional ice skater from Russia, glides across an outdoor rink. Morus is 1,000 miles (1,600 km) from his native Moscow, but is beginning to feel at home. He fled Russia with his fiancee in 2022, part of a wave of tens of thousands who came to Serbia after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It’s a long way to come, but many chose Belgrade for its ancient cultural and religious ties to Moscow. Since war began in Ukraine in February 2022, Russians fleeing conflict, conscription or the politics of President Vladimir Putin, have established a vibrant community in Serbia, according to interviews with two dozen immigrants and local officials. While the actual number of Russians in Serbia is smaller than those who have fled to countries such as Germany, their presence is acutely felt in Belgrade, a city of less than two million people. Russian-owned clubs, kindergartens, and medical practices have sprung up. Russians buy food in Russian shops. Russian bands, singers and comedians are performing in Russian clubs, and Russian artists showcase their work in Russian-owned galleries.
Outgunned and outnumbered, Ukraine’s military is struggling with low morale and desertion (CNN) Dima never puts out a cigarette until he smokes it right down to the filter, risking burning his fingers to squeeze out one more drag. He spent years on the Ukrainian front lines. He knows the price of a good smoke. As a battalion commander, Dima was in charge of around 800 men who fought in some of the fiercest, bloodiest battles of the war—most recently near Pokrovsk, the strategic eastern town that is now on the brink of falling to Russia. But with most of his troops now dead or severely injured, Dima decided he’d had enough. He quit. He told CNN he just couldn’t handle watching his men die anymore. Two and half years of Russia’s grinding offensive have decimated many Ukrainian units. Reinforcements are few and far between, leaving some soldiers exhausted and demoralized. The situation is particularly dire among infantry units near Pokrovsk and elsewhere on the eastern front line, where Ukraine is struggling to stop Russia’s creeping advances. CNN spoke to six commanders and officers who are or were until recently fighting or supervising units in the area. “When new guys come here, they see how difficult it is. They see a lot of enemy drones, artillery and mortars,” one unit commander currently fighting in Pokrovsk told CNN. “They go to the positions once and if they survive, they never return. They either leave their positions, refuse to go into battle, or try to find a way to leave the army,” he added.
The hospital struggling to save its starving babies (BBC) Afghanistan's children have suffered from acute malnutrition for decades, starving in a country plagued by 40 years of war and extreme poverty. But after three years of Taliban rule, with international funds curtailed by economic sanctions, "the situation has now reached an unprecedented precipice", writes Yogita Limaye from Jalalabad. She reports from a hospital ward in the eastern city, where more than three children have died every day for the past six months, according to the Taliban’s public health department. What she witnesses is harrowing—mothers weeping, tending to their babies, when many of them have already lost multiple children to hunger. "All I can feed them is dry bread, and water that I warm up by keeping it out under the sun," Amina says, looking over seven-months-old Bibi Hajira, who is seven months old, but the size of a newborn. On the bed next to her, one-year-old Asma has gone into septic shock—she died shortly afterwards. They These are only just two of the 3.2 million children in a state of acute malnutrition in the country.
Typhoon Yagi strikes Vietnam (Foreign Policy) Asia’s most powerful storm this year hit Vietnam over the weekend, killing at least 64 people and injuring more than 700 others. Typhoon Yagi reached winds of 127 miles per hour and triggered deadly landslides and flash flooding. Around 46,500 homes and hundreds of thousands of acres of crops have been damaged, and the storm destroyed a busy bridge in northern Vietnam on Monday, leaving at least 13 people missing. Yagi has since been downgraded to a tropical depression, but authorities have warned that more destruction is likely still to come. Yagi was the strongest typhoon to hit Vietnam in decades. Before hitting Vietnam, the storm caused at least 24 deaths in southern China and the Philippines last week.
Pope Francis arrives in East Timor (Reuters) Pope Francis arrived on Monday in East Timor, a predominantly Catholic nation in Southeast Asia, for a three-day visit that will include an open-air celebration of Mass the Vatican says may include more than half the population of 1.3 million. The 87-year-old pontiff is on an ambitious 12-day visit to four countries across Southeast Asia and Oceania, his longest overseas journey yet. He came to East Timor from Papua New Guinea, where on Sunday he delivered medical supplies to a small town located at the edge of a vast jungle, in one of the most remote areas of the world. East Timor, a half-island nation north of Australia, gained independence from Indonesia in 2002, after a brutal, decades-long occupation. Francis is the second pope to visit, following John Paul II, who came in 1989, in a trip that gave the country’s independence movement an historic boost. The country is likely the most Catholic in the world, with the Vatican saying some 96% of Timorese are adherents to the faith.
Israeli strikes in Syria leave 14 dead and more than 40 wounded, Syrian state media says (AP) The number of people killed in overnight Israeli strikes in Syria has risen to 14 with more than 40 wounded, Syrian state media (SANA) said Monday morning. One of the strikes targeted a scientific research center in Maysaf and others struck sites where “Iranian militias and experts are stationed to develop weapons in Syria,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military. Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on targets inside government-controlled parts of war-torn Syria in recent years, but it rarely acknowledges or discusses the operations. The strikes often target Syrian forces or Iranian-backed groups.
Israeli snipers again face scrutiny after death of civilian (Washington Post) Aysenur Eygi had come to Israel on an impassioned mission. The 26-year-old American activist and recent University of Washington graduate volunteered for the International Solidarity Movement, a pro-Palestinian activist group, and went to the occupied West Bank to participate in the organization’s routine attendance and monitoring of Palestinian protests against illegal Israeli settlements. Eygi was shot and killed Friday on the sidelines of a Palestinian protest of Israeli settlement expansion near the town of Beita. Witnesses said she was slain by Israeli soldiers. Nablus Gov. Ghassan Daghlas later told reporters that an autopsy “confirmed that Eygi was killed by an Israeli occupation sniper’s bullet to her head.” Jonathan Pollak, a volunteer with the ISM, told my colleagues that the shooting took place about half an hour after protesters had dispersed, when there were no active clashes or incidents of stone throwing, and as foreign volunteers, including Eygi, stood observing about 200 yards from the Israeli military. “There was no justification for taking that shot,” he said. The White House has thus far called on Israel to investigate the incident. Eygi had dual U.S.-Turkish citizenship and her killing elicited a far sterner response from Ankara. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said over the weekend that Israel had “heinously murdered our young child.” Witnesses in Gaza have throughout the past 11 months pointed to incidents where they say they were targeted by Israeli snipers or saw innocent bystanders and civilians gunned down by them.
Dozens of people and cattle killed as fuel tanker collides with another truck in Nigeria (CBS News) A fuel tanker collided head-on with another truck in Nigeria on Sunday causing an explosion that killed at least 52 people, the country's emergency response agency said. The fuel tanker was also carrying cattle in the Agaie area in north-central Niger state and at least 50 of them were burned alive, Abdullahi Baba-Arab, director-general of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, said. With the absence of an efficient railway system to transport cargo, fatal truck accidents are common along most of the major roads in Nigeria, Africa's most populous country. In 2020 alone, there were 1,531 gasoline tanker crashes resulting in 535 fatalities and 1,142 injuries, according to Nigeria's Federal Road Safety Corps.
