bothers me in trc fandom when people refer to “ronan’s suicide attempt” because it was pretty importantly NOT a suicide attempt. gansey, noah, adam, they all assumed it was, which is why gansey freaks out when ronan goes missing overnight at the beginning of trb, but it is not. it was a dream creature he brought back that had clawed him up.

i’m sure you could argue that that’s just an indirect suicide attempt, ronan’s subconscious, etc (opal tells him the night horrors are him), but i don’t see it that way. ronan is angry and grieving and violent in the wake of niall’s death. the night horrors, to my knowledge, don’t target ronan so much as they target any soft, living thing they can destroy. we don’t see this scene happen. we don’t see the day or the nightmare that comes before. we just have ronan’s word, and ronan says it wasn’t a suicide attempt, so it wasn’t.

and we can talk in circles then about whether ronan is suicidal actually—personally i think he has a sort of reckless disregard for his own life (see: drag racing, dream drugs) and has internalized a lot of the ideas about him being a “bad kid,” but i don’t think he’s actively suicidal. and that’s important to me. it’s important that ronan doesn’t actually want to die. i think he’s struggling to see the point of what everyone wants him to do (school), and struggling to envision a future for himself.

if ANYTHING was going to make ronan suicidal, truly, it should have been the dreamer trilogy. he’s isolated from all of his loved ones, literally starts dying if he’s not careful with the ley lines, and also the world is ending. we can see his same thought patterns repeating (“you’re always the car crash, ronan”) and we see him struggling with reality and identity (every conversation with bryde, who remember is part of ronan’s psyche, and also the looping dream with the mirror). and he’s not suicidal in the dreamer trilogy.

we talk a lot in this fandom about “gansey kind of wanted to live.” i think we should talk about how, despite everything, so did ronan.

They destroyed a sentimental item from her days as a necromancer and she was so hurt emotionally they ran to one of the "safe" adults she knew which is Shoko or Kusakabe. She refuses to see them and I am curious how they will handle it and try to get Necro's forgiveness

What else were they supposed to do? When she had done nothing but disrespect them day and night? When she had tried to leave their side when all they wanted was to help her? save her! and yet she had the audacity, the courage to make them see themselves as the bad guys....

is what they both repeated to themselves while their home was in an unusual state of tranquility, whether for better or worse, the house always had some type of noise (laughter, chatter, crying, shouting...) but For some time now the disturbing sensation was replaced by tension.

Both Kento and Higuruma were fighting so hard not to explode at each other, not to let all that repressed anger come out and continue to maintain the calm man façade, but it was extremely difficult without the only thing that normally held them together.

who had recently fled, and to make matters worse, it seemed that he was constantly changing locations in order to avoid them and not see them (with good reasons that they did not understand) with people whom they had to put up with for the sake of their relationship with their daughter.

But it was already taking its toll on them, they couldn't live like that.

how did they come to this?

They were aware that the nature of their relationship with Reader was not healthy, normal, or even good for any of them, but despite everything they had done to her, Reader returned to them, and they could not live without her. It was a vicious circle.

but it seems that the reader underestimated the nosibity and how far the jealousy of the two psychopaths with whom she shared a roof could go.

It was simply an ancient gadget, given to them by their original parents, perhaps that's why both Kento and Higuruma had some animosity towards it, but they didn't do anything especially questionable...until one day a fight escalated and became especially hectic.

The reader wanted to believe, she really wanted to believe that it hadn't been on purpose, that it had been an honest mistake and that they would apologize to her in some way. but said apology never came, and they acted as if nothing had happened, like when she threw a "tantrum" they ignored her screams, it was exactly the same, but she thought it would be different...

and the only thing she received was a hardened look and a "we are the only family you need, everything else is worthless" from those who had stolen her from said life in the first place..

It was too much...

and deep down Nanami and Higuruma knew it.

They knew that what they had done was wrong, of the damage it caused, that they had to refrain from going after the reader and trying to help her collect the remains of her relic, that they would have liked to have done it another way, but they were so closed to each other that They couldn't even begin to describe that...

and now there was the question of what they would do to get the reader back, there had to be a way, but it would be almost impossible with people like Kusakabe or Shoko around, they couldn't risk losing this opportunity, not again, not now.

They were both sides of the same coin, two opposite extremes, but they couldn't live without it. Without HER.

They need him, they hated each other, she hated them, deep down, they KNEW it.

They knew that the reader would surely be better off with the safe adults who generated so much rejection, they knew that the reader would be a better sorceress than either of them could become if they let her. They knew she had so much potential, a possible life and future ahead of her AND THEY DIDN'T CARE!

No matter how many times they said or convinced themselves that this time would be different, it wasn't, because they would never let her be happy with someone other than them.

They were monsters, but they managed to forget that with the reader. and that was the only thing that mattered.

If others have to suffer, if SHE has to suffer, then so be it. They are going to be selfish. As many times as it takes to be happy, they WILL be selfish.

Until then they would have to find some kind of comfort and guidance in the overwhelming silence of the house, a silence that they themselves brought. while they dreamed of what would be the beautiful melody of a home again.

It was the only thing they had in common after all...

Tay watched as Time squirmed against the bed, beautiful red rope pulled taut across his skin and face flushed in arousal and perhaps a hint of embarrassment. The thrill he felt was something new, something he hadn't anticipated when Vegas had made the suggestion, and he could easily find himself addicted to it.

"And that's how you tie them." Vegas finished explaining as he stepped away from the bed, hands on his hips and a look of satisfaction on his face.

"I probably won't remember. You'll have to show me again sometime." Tay smirked, following Vegas to the arm chair across the bed and settling in his lap. He'd have to thank Pete for this later because the way Time's jaw clenched and his nostrils flared was worth any favor he had to give.

"Something the matter?" Tay crooned across the room as Vegas' hand made its way up his thigh, squeezing gently. He gave an experimental roll of his hips, knowing they'd go no further than touching as per Pete's rules, but what Time didn't know was all the more fun for them.

"Funny, I don't think he likes sharing." Vegas smiled as he eyes never left Time's gagged and writhing form. It was fun to watch prey struggle, and he couldn't think of a more deserving subject. He'd seen the way Time had disregarded Tay throughout the years, watched as he stole a little bit of Tay's light and hoarded it like a selfish, gluttonous dragon. It would be good for him to have a lesson in humility - to be reminded that Tay was a beautiful piece of treasure to be valued.

"Maybe he'll learn his lesson this time." Tay's eyes were only on Vegas now, trailing down the line of his nose, the curves of his cheeks, down to his lips. His finger followed as a physical caress, playful and fleeting and eventually tracing down along his jaw and neck.

"Kiss me?" Tay pouted, lip jutting out and eyelashes fluttering playfully. He could almost feel Vegas holding back an eye roll and he knew he would owe him another favor just for that.

It was worth it when he heard Time growl around his gag the moment their lips pressed together. There was no spark there, no heat, but it was fun in its own right. It was enough that he was sure Pete was a lucky man.

i did finally make art for the other time i did a character, will be doing a bit of an art dump soon

so starting with the basics, hachi-me (or hachi as shes normally called) is a cishet woman that uses she/her (once was tempted to make her bi because im a simp, ended up not doing it)! shes a widow whos started dating yuni (ill get into them more) an enby cupiosexual panromantic he/they user (still confused if its still straight if one is nonbinary, ill edit it when i find that out)

lil detail is i had a phase where i wanted to make "normal names" so id make them translated shit, hachi means 8 and me means eyes so i put them together and made "eight eyes" but going from jp-en back to en-jp (i hope i used the right initial) says "eight eyes" is actually "Yattsu no me" but not changing it now

appearance wise, shes 6'6 feet tall (198 cm), with 2 forms: a human disguise and spider form. ill do human form first cause easier to describe

both forms have dark hot pink hair btw

the human form has long hair which ties into a small ponytail at the end (when i said long, i mean the ponytail, which is the size of a tennis ball id guess, ends just past her butt), with a bun on her head surrounded by flowers (the hair is subject to change btw do note that) aka a lot of hair! her bangs are pushed off to the side, are a bit longer then her chin, and have a yellow tint to them. she has a white mark around her right eye, which she insists is just a makeup choice (its not lmao)

she is heterochromic, her left eye being dark grey (almost black) and her right being a purple blue and pink mix of color. she also has purple mascara on

her outfit is pretty summery you could say, its a strapless dress with a lilac upper chest and then a almost white blue down, a purple flower attached at the hip with a white cloth sticking out of it, the short off-the-shoulder see-through sleeves a light lilac. she wears brown heels with yellow straps on them, and her legs have colorful splotches on them (white, yellow, and hot pink). the idea of it being so regal is inspired by sirens, looking pretty to attract victims to consume men
