He’s praising you in both Tyrrish and the common language, mixing the two into ineligible sentences. By the time you’re ready to apply the conditioner he’s begging you to join him, and drags you in fully clothed to hold you and show you his appreciation for your love for him.

What he gives: Words of affirmation

I meant, he probably does all of them very well. But I think his words of affirmation are just unbelievable.

The way he speaks to you, its so honest, real, and genuine.

He notices details about you, and knows you well enough that when he does give you praise and recognition, its truly heartfelt.

If you change something about yourself he’s the first to notice. A little quip like “New hair, Y/N.” While you’re walking down the hall.

If you get a good grade in class he’s embracing you with, “I knew you could do it, love. You were working so hard each night. Did you miss any points? It wasn’t that history question, was it? I knew you’d get that one right.”

If you sneeze like once the next day he’s checking in asking if you’re feeling alright or if your symptoms have gotten worse.

When you take down an opponent on the mat with a newer move you’ve been rehearsing and you look over to him he’s mouthing the words “Amazing” or “perfect”

Also, this man writes letters like is POETRY. Will sneak notes or letters into your belongings. When he’s on a mission for a few days he’s writing a letter each night and giving them to you when he sees you again.

Actually, I’m going in on this one, he’s written you poetry before. And it was perfect.

I think he realizes the true value of spending time with someone and knowing the pain of not having enough time with those he loves.

And when you make time for him, he just glows with appreciation

The Scenario: It’s been really hard to find quality time with Bodhi since you’ve arrived at Riorson house. You’re busy tending to the wounded riders and fliers to give Brennan a break and he’s out on missions, sometimes days at a time. When he’s back, he’s making plans with Xaden and Garrick. And when he is in bed with you he’s so tired he’s falling asleep instantly, sometimes in mid sentence. So, one day when he’s getting ready to head out on another mission you say, “Let me walk you to the flight field. Just you and me, okay?” You hold his hand, or link arms together and walk. You talk about everything that doesn’t have to do with the revolution and just bask in each other’s company. You give him a long, deep kiss before he climbs up Cuir and takes off. When he arrives home, you’re waiting for him. After a welcoming and warm kiss, you two walk back down to Riorson house together, hand in hand talking about the flora, the seasons changing, how much you’ve missed him. It’s not about the mission or what happened, its you and him. You make it a priority that every mission he’s out on you walk up together and back down together. Xaden and Garrick know this too and make a point not to interrupt your time together.

Xaden:

What he gives: Giving Gifts

It’s kind of a blend of acts of service, but its rooted in giving gifts

The gifts are truly heartfelt, an their purposeful.

Just think about him and Violet. The saddle, the dagger, the weaving book the JAR OF VIOLETS. The new furniture. He loves a good gift. Did many of those gifts come with unspoken secrets that should have been discussed prior to giving the gifts yes but THAT IS NOT THE POINT MY FRIENDS. He may be physically perfect but he is a young adult male…also he’s not Bodhi who is perfection so there’s that, Lolol

What Xaden is so good at with his gifts is that many of the ones he gives to you are not extravagant, they’re sentimental. It’s the “I was thinking of you when I saw this, because you’re always on my mind” vibes.

He gifts you a new uniform when its ripped during a challenge on the mat

He’ll probably rope Garrick and Bodhi to be the delivery person of said gifts when he’s not around either.

In the quadrant, he knew that you loved to cook. You often spoke about how you would make all the meals for your family growing up and even though you were doing well at making friends, you missed your family terribly. So, he gifted you the cooking duties when he was handing out assignments to each section. You were thrilled and didn’t mind waking up early each morning. At Riorson house, you had full range of the kitchens there too. And, during a mission he acquired a copy of a cookbook from your Provence filled with recipient of local dishes, in the language your family spoke

What he needs: How much time do we have Lolol - but its words of affirmation

I’ve always wondered what Xaden was like before the apostasy. Like, was he always moody, evasive and distant?

Bet he was still was cocky smartass though.

I ask this because over the years of the apostasy, foster care, Basgiath, The Assembly, all of the things basically, he’s become a very secretive person and withholds a lot from people. For his own survival and those he’s bound to protect. With that, I think of all the ways he needs love, I think words of affirmation are an absolute must for him.

I image he’s a guy who needs to ‘see it to believe it’ and in Xaden’s case, hear it to believe it.

You can spend time with him, touch him, take care of him, and all of that will be appreciated. But if you tell him how you feel, tell him how he makes you feel…

Give him those three words…give him all the words honestly. He needs it.

We know this shadowy asshole heartthrob can throw down some words of affirmation and gives a declaration of love like no other.

You get it, he’s a wingleader and has so much on his hands, but he’s practically tiptoeing around you. Leaving you in the dark, literally and physically from his life. You love him but outside of his status in the quadrant you know nothing about him. But, you know something is up. The way he talks with Garrick and Bodhi. His ‘now he’s here, now he’s not’ elusiveness. The way the marked ones have such high regard for him. You dont want to push him into sharing something he’s not willing to, but you just want him to know that you’re all in, no matter what. So, during one afternoon when he’s been extra elusive with you, providing another half truth on where he was for the past two days you finally snap, “Xaden. Cut the shit will you.” That stops him in his tracts. He gives you a hard stare while you continue, “I…I need you to hear me when I say I love you. I love you as the WIngleader, I love you as the rider, I love you as Xaden who kisses my forehead every night before you sneak off back to you room…and yes I know you do that thinking I’m asleep. And I know you have…secrets. And I know that they are yours to keep. Xaden, I love them too. I know nothing about them, but I love them, because they’re yours. And one day, if you trust me enough to tell me, I’ll be here. And if you don’t trust me, that’s okay too. I love all that you’ve shown me more than I fear what you hide from me. So my favorite character in The Brothers Sun is Taiwan. Like yeah Taiwan has its own shows and movies but it just feels Different to see Taiwan in a big international/American show! It’s SO cool actually and so um here are some thoughts I had and things I Noticed about different Taiwan scenes and things in the show idk

Episode 1

the opening shot of Taipei tells us this is a Thursday- the top of 101 is green and is a different color every day of the week

that corkscrew-shaped apartment building we see Charles living in is kind of an urban legend here in Taipei. They say it’s the most expensive place to live in the city, that each apartment has its own swimming pool, and that there’s an elevator specifically to bring cars up to display in your living room. No idea if the interiors look like that for real though

I was gonna say it’s pretty crazy he has an American-style oven in Taipei bc nobody does but actually in that apartment… yeah he probably would

afaik there’s not a way to (“legally”/officially) stream any of those famous British baking shows here rip

I do wonder if they actually filmed the opening scene in the corkscrew building or if they just really pay attention to detail because the skyline seen out the window matches up to what it would really look like from that part of the city

the shoes, I mean we all know about shoes-off houses but yeah

Not a Taiwan thing but the Maotai made me laugh. It’s like the Coca Cola of Chinese baijiu and imho it’s just as awful as every other brand

the Costco shit IS funny because vitamins, baby formula, that’s all the good stuff you want to bring back from abroad BUT actually we have Costco in Taiwan and can easily get a lot of that stuff? This concept imo would fit a lot better for China than Taiwan. It’s still very much a thing to load your suitcase up with baby formula on the way home to China, and there’s actually a huge smuggling business bringing it in through Hong Kong but I digress

Idk why I’m happy to hear Changhua and Douliu mentioned in an American TV show… Seriously, I don’t know. They’re kind of like nowhere places I’ve never even been. I just feel like everyone’s grandparents live there.

Even the way they film Mama Sun on the plane. Like the Mandarin music in the background with the announcement for Taoyuan airport… to me it feels specifically like a transpacific flight to Taiwan lolol but that’s definitely like a bias probably

Okay not to be SO nitpicky but so when she looks out the window on the plane to see Taipei 101 etc I’m not sure about that? The airport is actually in another city and I feel like I usually come in around and over the ocean or something?

But WOW the taxi scene my favorite scene it’s SO visceral and SO Taiwan… the street, the lights, the Cosmed/Mos Burger/7-Eleven, the street noises, like I can FEEL Taiwan through the screen and HER FACE taking it all in I WANT TO SOB

The temple, beautiful like this episode makes me believe Michelle Yeoh is Taiwanese lol

I appreciate the viscerality of the night market shots too but it seemed a bit empty

Okay so Mama Sun’s mom is super rich too based on where she lives which I guess it makes sense. But what I am curious about is the story about why they’re speaking Cantonese because Taiwan has a lot of languages but that’s not one of them like officially at all. I wonder if there’s a character backstory there or they just like. Didn’t want to bother teaching Michelle how to speak Minnan or something

The cemetery too is so fancy, I mean it fits but wow that’s expensive real estate

Sometimes i think is just his way of trying to say to first to act more like kant, i don’t know how kant is but just by the trailer i can say he is very into physical touch and maybe khaotung is just craving this. First already said that khaotung never let go of his hand when they were filming, holding even when were screamed “cut”. At the same time, i think first is afraid to be much touchy with his bestie and casually fall in love (they already are) he seems like someone who will hold his feelings and never do anything about it (when it comes to liking his bestie friend who is also his coworker). And khaotung, by saying all this stuff waits to first do something so he can react and loose himself in him.

But I don’t blame you, THK era has highlight even more how our boys are so sticky with each other (for the lack of better term).

From the boys casually sitting on top of each other (as evident by the many BTS videos/photos taken by others) to their Polycat concert shenanigans plus Jojo pretty much giving up and saying “I don't know what to tease you two about anymore” during the THK wrap up party; clearly these 2 are no longer as shy in displaying their close relationship (and I'm all here for it!) - so, I'm not exactly sure what you meant by KT craving more touch (from First) because it seems they are already all over each other (highlighted even more so with the recent THK Press Tour! - so adorable!!!!).

I also mentioned in a previous ask that when these 2 are excited/can't control their emotions/feel comfortable with their surroundings, they really do treat each other bodies like an extension of their own. The casual touch and gesture with the other party just accepting it is so fascinating to me (cause I'll tell you now, I don't even like my own family members touching me most of the time). I am also taking the opportunity to shout out to Joong/Dunk being FK adopted sons (or if in Dunk/Khao case, the latter being everyone's sunshine baby to the point even the THK admin pointed this out...🤭)

We already know KT adores First as Kant (he has said countless of time he finds Kant the best character so far out of their series, which I still find funny, cause I think the interviewers/host from KT party was actually asking him what's his fav role to date and he just goes off tangent and promote his soulmate instead hehe). Is it because Kant is meant to be this flirtatious, suave tattooist who pulls all the move to make sure Bison (and by default KT as well hehe) trapped in his allure? Who knows? Maybe! But, we all know, it is Bison who really holds the power in their relationship (at least in the bedroom anyway, 😆). I get the impression though, while Kant may have fallen for Bison first - once Bison commits to a person, he will be fiercely protective (and murderous, 😅) on behalf of his loves ones (so, when Bison finds out of Kant's deception, all hell will break loose)

Either way, since both boys are method actors, I have no doubt that there are some element of their characters seeping into their real life persona a little bit (especially KT, where FK admits KT always take longer to come out of character) - so, him clingy to First and refuse to let his hands go even after they finish filming, oh yes? This tracks nicely! Also that recent comment by First saying the KT he has to deal with at 6am is very different with the KT he deals with at 7pm??? (which ahem, also tells me, these 2 are TOGETHER pretty much 24/7. I mean we all expected this but its nice to have confirmation).

Look, I truly don't know whether these 2 are in a romantic relationship (in my delulu world, these 2 are in a comfortable spot where they know themselves what they meant for each other but is just letting everyone else make assumptions 😏). Either way though, I am eagerly waiting for Khaotung (or First) to casually drop a bombshell they are now cohabiting in KT's brand new house (whenever that will be completed) - because you just wait, they will drop this random fact suddenly or might pull a EarthMix move 😉

You have no idea how much this ask meant to me. Epic & Cross x Reader

Cross doesn't like fighting Epic since they are pretty close but this doesn't stop him from getting competitive.

Epic, on the other hand, loves play fighting and competing with Cross! He's not aggressive about it, he just does it for fun.

Cross is usually trying to prove himself worthy of your affection in some way while Epic just likes flirting and making you laugh.

Epic is surprisingly good at flirting but often settles for making you laugh because he loves it so much.

Sometimes Epic flirts with cross too just to fuck with him lmaoo - Cross is always baffled and a mess when it happens. Its pretty funny to watch tbh.

Most people assume youre a polycule. Epic doesnt help dispel that with his flirting. I mean a poly relationship could probably work.

You will never know alone time again if you don't set those boundaries. They're both Clingy!!

Given the chance, Cross will escort you everywhere - hes like your own personal bodygaurd. (You dont know how he knows your schedule so well or how he finds you so easily when going out.)

Epic also shows up a lot. Hes usually the one initiating lunch & dinner dates between y'all. Well, its not obvious theyre dates but they basically are, lmao.

They do try to one up each other but you'll next to never see them fight. You may catch them bickering about who did better, though. Epic likes instigating and Cross can be sassy.

They may have a fight about you once. Other than that they are chill because they're so close and Epic often gets Cross to communicate.

The fight would probably be mostly on Cross. He would get mad that he fell for someone his best friend likes. He would be upset that he "couldn't have someone himself" both because he feels guilty about Epic and for personal issues (he's lost a lot). Then he'd be mad that he thought that way and felt jealous. He wouldn't like how selfish he feels. Epic talks him through it, though. And talks some sense into him :]

Cross may be quiet most of the time but he is hanging around more often than not. He's just sort of ... supervising lol. Its comforting in an odd way. He likes the quality time too.

Sometimes Epic gets you alone, though. He gets you two to do relaxing things together like a picnic or video games.

He can be surprisingly tender and romantic but he will ruin it with a joke after surprising you or flustering you with the romance so cherish the moment while you can. Good luck, too. ;P

Cross is a mixed bag. One moment he's purposely suave and dashing then the next he cant get a sentence out . Its like he has moments of clarity then goes back to being a dork.

On a few occasions they will team up on you. I don't think they would really plan it unless it was your birthday or something special like that. When they do it it's usually just an accident and their moods synced to cause chaos.

When they team up they are menaces! Epic would be all gentle and romantic with flirty, witty remarks while Cross would be the type to guide you by the small of your back, leaning in to tell you things. And you know he'd be saying stuff like he's your personal knight! "I'll always be there for you." || "if you ever need anything just come to me, I'll take care of you." And shit like that.

Augh they would have you cornered but like in a good way. Cross always behind you, making sure you're safe while Epic leads you around by the hand. I hate them. I actually love them damn it.

Sometimes they get needy and steal you away for a while. The dorks.

Epic "kidnaps" you to cuddle up somewhere and read or watch a movie. He's very touchy (respectfully) so if you're okay with it he will be all over you. He especially loves it if you act as his weighted blanket and lay on him.

Cross gets grouchy and takes you somewhere on an "adventure". Most of the time it'll be somewhere without people. If the place has rough terrain he'll likely try to convince you to let him carry you lol. "You got it?" / "you tired?" / "want help?" Any reason to be close or touching you if you'll allow it.

If you're more of a low and mellow energy person he'll set up a special spot where he sets up stuff for one of your hobbies (if he can) somewhere hidden and will hang out with you.

Stars forbid you give only one of them a gift. They won't guilt you or be mean, but they will rub it in the others face subtly. If they're the one who didnt get something then Epic would jokingly act all clingy and pouty while Cross glares at him. Speaking of, Cross would stand closer than normal and Low-key pout if he didn't get something. Like a cat who wants something from you.

If you're the more affectionate, touchy type then you're going to likely always have one of them touching you if they're around. Epic practically hangs off of you while Cross just has a hand on you somehow. They have probably scent marked you, accidentally or not. They just clingy bois.

Also - not in a kinky way - but Cross has a high chance of biting you during prolonged physical contact lol. It's just a quirk of his. Its like cuteness aggression but in a loving way. You can think of it as kisses it a way.

He wouldn't mention it if you dont but it is a good way to fluster him >:3c

As for trying to be better than each other i think they would choose some things you like and try to be "the best" at it?? Like... lets say you collect shells. Suddenly they are finding great shells - in tact and pretty - and giving them to you. Same with trinkets. Or finding weird coffee mugs if you like those.

Epic also is that bitch who has a lot of money and just sugar daddies his friends LMAOO. You want that expensive thing? Dont worry bby hes got it kcjsbsbsb. If hes crushing on you it just gets worse and more ridiculous.

Cross is the one who has dedication to getting you things. So if something is about timing or searching hard for it he's the one to go to. He also just brings you random things like a bird..?? You dont even know where he gets half the stuff he shows up with. You may even just find stuff on a table in your house randomly.

Also, for no apparent reason, kareoke becomes a thing between y'all. You have no choice /j

Adam is one of the few people that seems to have his wings out all the time. Which is certainly interesting. I'm almost completely sure most of the other characters don't because it's a pain in the ass to animate.

But back to the question!

I did a quick search on sensei's twitter to answer this question and I'll try to respond as best as I can! And..

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's fine with fanworks.

I have found a funny tweet he's made in early 2016 which lead to an interaction that might be what we're looking for. I linked it at the end of this post. (translated it to the best of my ability + used Inspect Element to make it easier to read)

(he mentioned the girl being most likely a SaiKai fan btw) Then, someone lightheartedly replied asking if that letter actually made him angry, to which he responded:

I don't think he has ever said anything else on the matter of any guidelines when it comes to fanfics... So he probably just doesn't care lol

For some more, but anecdotal evidence: I've also heard from some veteran japanese Saiki fans that he doesn't mind fanfics. I myself have a big "Makokuu fan" written on my twitter bio which didn't seem to bother sensei when he complimented my artworks lolol

I have written a little about how Sakura is written to be irrelevant throughout the narrative by Kishi, and as a result, demeaning her character through the literary tool of subversion. Here's another example of how Kishimoto makes Sakura's character redundant and very intently makes her the laughingstock of the manga. Like I have mentioned before, he gets some kind of perverse pleasure out of showing both Hinata and Sakura down and he would go a painstakingly intricate and at times, long way to do it too.

I will be publishing a longer write up about this subversion that Kishi uses for Sakura as an answer to an ask but I am writing this particular post separately because this bunch of chapters portray a series of incidents where Kishi really does it without any subtlety and is pretty in your face about it too, like you can viscerally feel his disdain towards Sakura's character just wafting over and it has made her a huge target for ridicule, it has become a ubiquitous topic for very popular jokes and memes even outside the fandom, lol.

Okay, so the chapter I am talking about is chapter 675 where Sakura has just been kamui'd out by Obito from his space time dimension to protect her from Madara's attack after she fails to stab his rinnegan eye. But she never had much determination to speak of unless it had to do with showing off to Sasuke and Naruto, mostly Sasuke. What is interesting to notice is that it also pointedly harks back to something else that she did (or didn't do lol) with her kunai which resulted in a frustrated and (greatly) annoyed audience, courtesy Kishi.

Her nervous expression, the trembling kunai just centimetres away from its target but unable to reach it, failure to do it anyway, giving an opening to her opponent that could have easily been avoided had she been a little more resolute (no one really asked her to take on Sasuke though, that was her own decision given her poor sense of judgment, fighting strategy and skills), getting attacked by the opponent and then getting rescued by someone. Mostly Naruto.

#Redundant

Anyway. She couldn't do anything, having failed to stab Obito's eye so she is transported back by Obito and she joins Kakashi and Sasuke who are waiting for Madara to return. She sees Kakashi's condition and starts to heal him. Naruto leaves his clone to hold Madara's shadow captive with his sage of six paths staff and returns to Sasuke's side, his better half of the 'main act' of the war which has already been established at this point.

So seeing Sakura healing Kakashi, he takes over from a resisting Sakura and heals him. The ONE thing that she could do and not feel redundant in the trio is taken away from her, lolol.

He not only heals him, he gives him a brand new eye, something that is beyond the reach of prevailing medical jutsu itself. How can Sakura even hope to compete with this? Lolol. Kishi, you sadistic so and so! You won't even let her catch a break.

Naruto can't explain and doesn't even understand how he did it and it took Sakura years of effort to learn medical jutsu and achieve a stage where she could even use her mitotic regeneration jutsu. Hahahahaha.

Okay, now then, Sasuke tells Naruto to keep his guard up while Sakura is acting like her usual pointlessly high handed self trying to condescend to Naruto who just made her presence utterly pointless, and Kakashi starts to reminisce about team seven dynamic. Kakashi, a man who has a very shallow understanding of his team members (he thinks Sakura's love has changed from what it was and that she is kind and gentle lol) and not at all about Sasuke, which he thankfully admits.

But what's funny to me is that Kishi was totally focusing on showing Sakura down, mercilessly. So Kakashi is seen reminiscing about their first day in team seven.

Sakura squealing like a typical immature fangirl crushing over an entirely disinterested and quite embarrassed boy, while having no other goal or objective. While Naruto announces his goal to surpass the current hokage, Sasuke divulges his ambition of restoring his clan's honour and killing Itachi, Sakura just blushes and squeals.

Kakashi thinks she is kind and gentle (because of course he has never seen Sakura treating Naruto, at times even a badly injured Naruto, like a punching bag and manipulating him and everyone else for her ill conceived plans), she has grown and her love for Sasuke has matured because she still cares about him even though he tried to kill her in kage arc. Oh sure, running after a boy and begging for his attention no matter what the circumstances or timing is totally what a mature woman would do, lol. Thing is, he has got blinders on when it comes to Sakura because he obviously very conveniently forgets that Sakura attacked Sasuke first, in fact, she went there with the sole intention of killing Sasuke, while not knowing the truth but suspecting something, after having orchestrated a plan that included fake confessing to Naruto (#rejected lol), drugging her team mates and armed with a puny poisoned kunai which she didn't have the presence of mind to deduce would be pointless against Sasuke who trained with Orochimaru for years, some medical ninja, lol.

Kakashi treats her with kid gloves and doesn't understand Sasuke's feelings or motivations given his own lack of perception and failure to understand the intricacies of emotions and relationships, he makes a lot of faux pas when it comes to his team seven members. Kishi knows that these are the questions any reader would ask since these elements were given such consistent visibility in the manga and such consistent characterisation to the players, he is not an idiot. So he uses indirect and subtle techniques and narrative elements, and forces the reader to ask questions and then provides the answers. How? By showing, not telling. Okay, a little telling as well.

Kishi has already established, through Kakashi's interactions with Obito, that Kakashi is definitely flawed as he writes him to admit that he tried his best but he made mistakes.

And that it can be contributed to his past, when he lost his father so cruelly along with his team mates. He also admits that giving false hope to Sakura when Sasuke is about to abandon Konoha was wrong. And what this proves is that Kakashi isn't infallible. His hypocrisy is very apparent when the core of his principle is to cherish his comrades and yet couldn't even attempt to understand Sasuke, given Sasuke's excruciatingly disturbing and scarring past. And even at the end, he expects Sasuke to behave and acts like it was all Sasuke's fault, not having understood him at all. The reason Sasuke gave up at the end was due to the revelatory experience he had with Naruto in chapter 698. Kakashi is emotionally stunted, perhaps which is why he is so good at being an ideal shinobi. A shinobi doesn't cry, doesn't emote, doesn't complain, doesn't break orders and protects his village with his life. Anyway, what becomes clear is that Kakashi's emotional perception is quite affected and far from accurate for sure.

Anyway, so Kakashi reminisces about what he perceives as the team seven dynamic after Naruto heals his eye and then reminds Sasuke of the first lesson he taught them when they were rookies. Sasuke remains meaningfully silent and only grunts. He obviously has a very low opinion of Kakashi, justifiably, as was established in kage arc and the succeeding chapters after this one emphasize it even more. Heh.

So what does 'Team Seven' decide on?

TEAMWORK.

Where was this notion of Team seven teamwork emphasized on the last time before this? Here.

Where Sakura is seen nursing her past insecurities and ramping her ego to join Naruto and Sasuke in the fight because she can't tolerate being protected by them anymore like a damsel in distress.

She thought she was a full fledged kunoichi after passing her genin exams, lol.

Anyway, so she doesn't want to gaze at the boys' back, meaning being shielded or protected by them, as they proceed to take on their opponent. And she manages to punch and make a dent while insulting her own sensei, like some badass that she definitely thinks she is, it becomes quite clear from her body language and expression.

Problem is, her feeling so good about herself (I have finally caught up to them) and acting like a badass is very disproportionate with her actual actions and contribution to the battle. Which is why it creates a dissonance in the reader's mind. As she keeps pulling the same shit over and over without changing or improving things, even after having certain realizations, she creates a negative impression of herself in the audience's mind. She doesn't evolve to be better in a manga where characters learn and grow as a rule which then contributes to the main plot, this is a coming of age story as well after all. Same with Hinata.

Btw, Hashirama saying her strength might be greater than Tsunade doesn't mean shit. Because he actually hasn't seen what his grand-daughter is capable of. Her strength is greater than Raikage, as Madara notices after fighting all the kages. Someone as strong as Naruto struggled to fight against Raikage when he tried to stop him from joining the war effort and so Bee had to intervene on his behalf. She couldn't even fight average cloud ninjas Omoi and Karui, lol. Like c'mon, they aren't even portrayed as some super strong, special ninjas, they are a hardly more than comedy fodder. But Kishi won't even let Sakura take some fodder level ninjas, lol, it's embarrassing. And what happens? Naruto comes to her rescue, as always. Heh. No way Sakura is stronger than Raikage, lol.

Why does Kishi do things like these? These obvious contradictions that he knows are very visible to anyone who pays attention? Especially with Sakura, where other characters like Kakashi, Shizune, Hashirama and Jiraiya remark positively about Sakura? To build expectations, make the reader anticipate some awesome action from Sakura, something that would actually justify these positive remarks in the narrative, building the premise of the action, escalating it, but then right at the moment of dramatic and narrative payback, 👎. He makes Sakura fail pathetically (he does the same thing with Hinata) by subverting the narrative development and tropes, by not satisfying the readers' expectations that he so painstakingly develops, by writing the most anti-climactic of actions at the end. No payback whatsoever. What does an actual payback look like? Cue Might Guy's opening all of the eight gates, when he smashes Madara's ribs in as he breaks his own bones in the process. Cue Tsunade grunting like a warrior goddess as she thrashes Madara's clone beyond recognition. Even Sakura when she punches the ground real hard and takes out little juubi soldiers.

He sadistically wastes all that effort that builds up the anticipation.

And what does doing that achieve? Simple. It makes the reader get really annoyed/dissatisfied with the character. And they feel compelled to berate or ridicule her character. And why won't they? They invested in the character and his/her actions in the narrative for a grand payback, watching multiple episodes or reading multiple chapters carefully, and when they don't get it, they would naturally be frustrated. Kishi consistently pulls this shit over and over again with Sakura and Hinata. And why would he go to such lengths to do shit like this? Well, it's not because he wants to make these ladies look credible or worthy. Heheh.

This is exactly why fans who don't see everything through rose coloured glasses, shipping lenses or have a good taste and a good understanding of characters and the human condition, and actually pay attention to what they are watching or reading, are so annoyed by these characters. Notice I am not saying disgusted or hateful (although some of y'all are) but mostly really annoyed and frustrated. Sakura and Hinata, more than anything else (although they are all those things too, like distasteful, boring and cringey lol), are simply annoying. Because of the reason I explained above.

Kishi is fucking relentless about it too. After this sense that he gives the reader of team seven dynamic, he pulls this shit here. No Sakura, no team. Just Naruto and Sasuke being the main act.

After which, we see Naruto and Sasuke fighting together or separately, but not with the team. But after they are given the sage of six paths power by Hagoromo, they fight together, well in sync with each other. Like they are meant to be. Sasuke bosses Naruto around, like usual, Naruto complains nostalgically but you can see he is totally enjoying it to the hilt. And both of them get shit done. Naruto stops Madara's shadow successfully as Sasuke skillfully slashes Madara's physical body in half. But before he can react further, Madara flies to Kakashi, steals his sharingan and just shoves it in his socket, because it really is that simple lol, enters Obito's space time dimension and attacks Sakura. Now Sakura has no idea about Madara's powers, not having fought him at all directly, and definitely not having fought with the juubi jinchuuriki Madara. So where on the one hand, you see Sasuke and Naruto thoughtfully device strategies to fight Madara, Sakura actually is totally clueless. But Kakashi reminds them of 'teamwork'.

So then Madara finally appears and then this happens.

Hahahahaha. Teamwork? What teamwork?Sakura doesn't even know what Madara's strengths or weaknesses are. And just as expected, he stabs her in the chest and stops her punch with his Limbo jutsu. Payback? What payback? Readers who sympathized with Sakura? Disappointed. Readers who wanted returns on their investment, disappointed. But people who understood what she was really like? Vindication. Lol.

She did the same thing here that Hinata does in Pein arc, when she charges at Pein without putting any thought into it. Hinata did it to attract Naruto's attention. And why did Sakura do it?

And what happened in both cases? Long build up resulting in them getting struck with a single hit and then being rescued by someone else. Naruto doesn't even acknowledge Hinata and Sakura droops because Sasuke ain't paying attention to her. So much for team work. Lol.

But what impression does it give to the reader?

1) Sakura's love for Sasuke didn't really evolve did it? It's the same when in part one, she climbs the tree by gathering chakra in her feet to impress Sasuke but Sasuke doesn't pay attention to her and she slumps, highly disappointed. Same as here.

2) She makes it look like she is creating an opening by using a diversionary tactic, but it's quite obvious she is really scared, but is still trying to show off to Naruto and Sasuke because she doesn't wanna stay behind, gazing at their backs again. So she attacks Madara blindly. Her desire to show off and strut around trumps her desire to actually defeat Madara. What a shinobi, lol. This is a freaking war, and she is fighting against a super strong villain who is bent on destroying their world as they know it, but she is more concerned with nursing her own shortcomings. Self centred, yes. And definitely not a badass. Just ass. Hehe.

After getting rescued by Naruto yet again, she wallows in sadness when Sasuke doesn't even glance at her but immediately calls for Naruto, who btw totally gets what he is indicating at without needing to say it out loud. Yay, team seven. Lol. So while Sasuke and Naruto get into form and fight Madara, what does Sakura do?

Precisely nothing. Just sitting there in awe of Sasuke and Naruto. Spellbound at Madara's jutsu and power, that she didn't know zilch about. Kakashi is pretty pointless here as well, but he wasn't the one who just proclaimed they remembered the teamwork lesson and jumped in a fight without any plan. At least, he had the presence of mind to stop Sakura from joining in the fight when Naruto and Sasuke charge at Madara and she again finds herself watching their backs, as he tells her to not do it unless she has a plan. And she does stop, lol. She doesn't have the power or strategy, just ego. All she wants is to impress Sasuke and show off to Naruto and others, who cares there's a war going on? Lol.

3) It becomes pretty clear who the real team is here. And Sakura is very pointedly missing from it. And it stays that way till the end, staying true to the real team seven dynamic. The Main Act.

So after hyping up the team work element, Kishi discards Sakura's inclusion with a ruthless but consistently written treatment and makes her...?

Redundant.

She couldn't heal Kakashi, she couldn't punch Madara. And she didn't mature, like Kakashi believed. Still pretty useless. Lol.

I am aware that her stans only read the most surface level. How else would they justify something they invest so much in? But unfortunately, it's a fact and not a matter of opinion that Kishi never intended to portray her positively and he certainly puts a hell lot of effort to do so in a clever manner. It's not a coincidence that she (along with Hinata) is such a hated character. It's because she has been portrayed that way. Storytelling and visual language are intuitive by nature. All I am doing here is decoding them. I am writing here what you already know. I am just explaining the how of it. Excuse the digressions lol.

The way the whole comparing rhys and tamlin is funny to me because for me tamlin comes out as the better one of them. Like what rhys did to Feyre is much worse than what Tamlin did. Tamlin was great with feyres family while Rhys is horrible to them. Tamlin for the most part cares for all of his people while rhys are letting half or more of his rot(court of nightmares and illyrians). And Tamlin is genuinly regretful and tries to make up for it while rhys is like everything bad i did is fine actually because I say so.

I actually agree with this sentiment. I've always believed that the intentional foil of Rhys and Tamlin ultimately doesn't benefit Rhys. I think the story has a hard time reconciling Rhys' culpability in maintaining UTM and just how complicit he is in well...the enslavement of the High Lords. Here lies the problem: the story doesn't know how to separate the motivation of the characters from their impact on the story. The consequence are only meant to happen on a personal level.

What does this mean? It means the narrative believes that Rhys' sadness and guilt are the consequences. While Tamlin faces sadnes, guilt and tangible in-world consequences. There are no consequences to Rhysand's actions (as Amaranths's general). The narrative even vilified the conversation at the High Lord's meeting. Tamlin's abuse of Feyre, while naturally abhorrent, is a personal issue. What I'm saying is it doesn't make that big of an impact on the story worldbuilding. Rhysand has also abused Feyre. Yet, the only consequences Rhys gets are personal (he feels bad), while Tamlin's are more tangible (Feyre leaves Tamlin). Tamlin abuses his sentries with violence and they leave him, yet when Rhysand tortures the CoN, Illyrians, and High Lords UTM, he still gains their allegiance, the warriors, and their land. He doesn't even have to feel guilty about it.

And while Tamlin's actions are naturally bad, the story believes that everyone should view Tamlin the way Feyre views Tamlin. On the contrary, the story wants us to view Rhys as Feyre views Rhys and any delineation from that is vilified.

Naturally, the High Lords' should hate Rhysand. They were all victims of Amarantha and Rhysand...betrayed them. She actively worked for him at the benefit of his court and family. And though we know why, it doesn't mean its justified by the other high lords as they are presumably at the receiving end of the violence. The story doesn't want to contend with the fact that Rhysand objectively has done things that are much worse (because of their impact on the story).

It's not to say that one abuse is better or worse, but rather, Rhysand's actions affected the entirety of Prythian while Tamlin's were pretty much contained.

"Stop bringing Michael into this," I snap, pointing a finger at him.

Milo scoffs, "and why wouldn't I be bringing him into this?"

He snarls as he walks past me. I grit my teeth, watching him move to his table to pour himself a cup of gin.

"Because he's not part of this conversation, Milo!"

He laughs as the alcohol spills into his cup. He puts the bottle down and turns to me, raising his glass, "that's funny," he takes a sip, then keeps the object by his lips, "you say that as if it's ever just the two of us doing something. I can never get you alone," he brings the glass down and laughs again, "you like him too much."

"Are you fucking hearing yourself right now?" I wave my hands, "I'm here with you aren't I? I'm concerned with what's happening with you, not Michael."

Milo chucks his glass across the room, "NO!"

I cringe and cover the sides of face with my hands.

"You're HERE," he walks over to me, "because Michael called you. You're doing this for him!"

My breath hitches as Milo stands in front of me with a scowl and a heaving chest. I look up at him as I slowly drop my hands. I feel my eyes water at the severity of his tone, the accusation that I did not care for him.

His face twitches. He lets out an airy chuckle under his breath. He shakes his head, "liar," he grits his teeth and rather painfully admits in a low voice, "I always want you around."

I scoff at him and straighten up, "and what you're doing now is a good indication of that, huh?"

Milo's eyes begin to glass.

I release a shudder as a tear rushes down my face. I look away from him and wipe my tears, but then Milo catches my face as he releases a breathy curse, "fuck- I..."

I shake away from his hold and I move off to the door.

With his newfound powers, which was the reason for this argument in the first place, he runs up to me and blocks my way. Milo clutches my shoulders and shakes his head, "please, don't leave."

I clench my jaw, "you don't seem particularly willing to listen to me."

"Please," he steps forward.

I release a breath, "Milo-"

His hands come to my cheeks, "please."

"I don't-"

My words are cut off by the press of his lips on mine. He leans into me and pulls me in, the warmth of his body mingles with mine. He tastes like gin, but he smells as nice as he always does. My hands come to his torso as he slowly deepens the kiss and slides his tongue against my lips.

When we break away for a breath, Milo presses his forehead on mine and heaves. His breathing is too heavy to be the consequence of mere kissing. He huffs, "I haven't had the balls to tell you that I have been in love with you since the day you laughed at my jokes."

I look at him as he tucks hair behind my ear.

"I'm sorry I... blew up on you," he rubs my cheek, "or scared you," he shakes his head, "I would never hurt you."

"Milo..."

"I just figured I wouldn't have a chance with you anyway, especially not when Michael was... well, Michael, and I was me."

I knit my brows and shake my head, "you're a fucking idiot."

He nods, "I am. I know that-"

I cut him off this time and take my turn at cupping his face.

When we pull away, I look at him and comb his hair back. He looks at me with slightly parted lips. I press mine into a soft smile as I take his hands and place them on my waist. I lick my lips "has it never even once occurred to you that I do the shit that I do because I... like you?"

Milo's brows knit a fraction. He blinks. Then, he pulls closer to him. I bring my hands to his chest as we look at each other.

He tilts his head then slowly, his lips curve into a small smile. He releases a chuckle as I rub his chin with my thumbs. He leans into me, "you like me?"

I scoff out a chuckle and roll my eyes.

"Or... is it my money?" he hums with a lopsided smile.

I throw my head back as I laugh. I look back at him as he rubs my sides affectionately. I sigh and shake my head, "you caught me," I raise my hand, "hand over your wallet."

Milo does not hesitate, one hand leaving me to fish for the object in his back pocket.

favorite character syndrome makes me want to put madoka and stan in the same category. AND THEY KINDA ARE. they both give up themselves to save the world and the people they love (esp because theyve struggled with self worth issues their entire life). BUT ALSO. god stan's whole thing was chaining himself to gravity falls to try and get ford back for 30 years and ... if that aint homura-core ... i dont know what else is...

going off that fanart you rbed from fillerfarts, ford and homura are. very similar esp personality wise. and also being huge criminals with large arsenals of weaponry. ford's quantom distabilizer and homura's nukes are like. the same to me. same energy

the other characters i feel are kinda hard to associate characters with? no one really slots up neatly from the GF cast to the madomagi cast. kyoko and wendy have surface level similarities, but even then kyoko's a hot head while wendy's whole thing is that she's always chill. i think maybe dipper and mabel come close to the sayaka & kyoko relationship? one trying so hard to live up to the idea of a hero and isolating themself while the other reminds them its okay to not be alone. but even then i think maybe its a stretch from me? kyosaya is so good and so specific. if i twist my brain i could see dipper being like sayaka and mabel being the kyoko to that? if youre pickin up what im puttin down? but also i sound like this

mami is such a funny outlier. only girl to not be cursed with yuri instead shes cursed with Insta Death LOLOLOL. god maybe at most i could associate fiddleford with mami? maybe? but thats me also stretching like an olympian

RAAAGHHGHH i just feel like we got lucky with the stans because theyre the only ones with a weirdo fucked up THING going on. the rest of the gravity falls cast are relatively normal, its just the stans are the crazy people. meanwhile everyone in madomagi has something crazy going on

AS FOR THE MAGIA RECORD GIRLS!!!! HONESTLY ??? i uh. erm. i dont really care for magia record (gets boo'd off the stage). ITS A CUTE MOBILE GAME FOR SURE some of the designs are fun but i feel like its just a jank add on to the madomagi story. like im glad its not canon, its just one of the Many Timelines homura goes through that branches off to a happy ending of defeating walpurgisnacht (in the game. the anime is different). i watched the anime and tried to get into the mobile game but it just didnt have the same punch. nothing will ever grab me the way homura and madokas freak situationship did, especially cus everyone in magia record is so Normal by comparison LOLOL
