ok so i am very much uninformed on politics, i decided at a younger age that i wasn't interested in it and therefore would not read or keep myself particularly informed about it. obviously this is a bad idea, and i want to change and keep myself informed on actual politics and well, abstract[?] (wrong word but cannot think of another, basically mean like. knowing which political .. stance ?? [idk. like marxist or communist or whatever] i might be.) ones as well. what's a good place to get started here? where do i look for actual politics going on in india since i'm pretty sure ndtv or whatever isn't exactly the best source? or maybe it is? idk, like i said i'm pretty uninformed on the matter but would like to learn more
so one thing is, in india you have to accept the media landscape is just dire because being a journalist with integrity is a bit like signing up to have your life ruined. all major media has been bought by hindutva already. what you have to do is more learn to read between lines, understand people's motivations, which is a matter of practice. a good way to start is to read analysis (not news reports) of the same incident in different media and you'll start noticing patterns. even more important imo is to talk and bounce ideas with a friend at a similar place as you or someone interested in politics who won't overwhelm you with their perspective. you can try online but idt its safe or advisable anymore to do that experiment online. i had debate club in university (sad) and some socialist reading groups (better) after. the thing is this journey to self education is kind of personal and im also not pedagogically oriented or trained? so lots of first person description instead of prescriptions.
i still check what's up on ndtv because it gives me a good pulse of what english language media and liberals are thinking. major newspapers i scan hindu and the indian express sometimes. online i have a look at newslaundry (also has some youtube content) and the wire, they're reader supported and haven't turned full hindutva yet. i read longer form things in the caravan and epw, but these are subscription based. i keep tabs on the latest round of hindutva fake news when alt news debunks it.
for the abstract things, i literally did an online course bc i was frustrated by what all the liberal arts grads seemed to already agree on. i did ian shapiro's moral foundations of politics which is available online as both youtube lectures and a textbook. if you want to go that route feel free but it's not necessary, you can also try to read the entries on wikipedia or stanford encyclopedia of philosophy (more expertise) when you encounter something unfamiliar and build up like that. podcasts like bbc in our time will often interview academics to give intros to many political philosophy concepts and thinkers. whatever your learning style supports! i think the important thing is to find something you are actually interested in, and take that tack. i like history, so i might read books about historical revolutions or historical forms of organising society or listen to podcasts like mike duncan's revolutions.
For communism the usual starting points are these very short pamphlets:
Principles of Communism by Engels
The Manifesto of the Communist Party by Marx
Wage-Labor and Capital by Marx
Socialism: Utopian and Scientific by Engels
feel free to ask for more specific questions!

an interview with @that-english-nerd (she/hers)
what are you working on right now? Three things!
My next chapter for my witch!AU where Bellamy is the son of a witch, and Clarke enlists his help to find out what happened to her father and his sister.
And a prompt for @bellarkefic-for-blm  with princess!Clarke and knight!Bellamy. It's a little outside of my comfort zone but I enjoy writing it. I currently have stumbled upon some technical difficulties where I lost everything I wrote for it so now I'm back to square one.
I’m also looking for the next chapter of a Voltron fic I’ve been working on. It’s super silly but it’s ridiculous amounts of fun, I want to write so much for it.
what’s something you’d like to write one day? I think it's been a pipe dream of mine to write a novel that captures the spirit of the YA books I grew up on but that people of all ages can enjoy. I want it to be my ultimate self-indulgent fantasy where I combine all the things I loved as a reader. A fantasy/sci-fi, action, a good satisfying romance, complex emotions.
It's also important to me that the main character is brown-skinned like I am, and that the book discusses different philosophies and cultures without ever saying one is right. Growing up as the child of immigrants, I've always struggled with clashing cultures and it took me a while to learn that neither culture is more right than the other, and that our differences in how we think are what makes being human meaningful. I want something that acknowledges those parts of the human experience without villainizing or glorifying its existence.
what is the fanwork you’re most proud of? Honestly? It's this moodboard I made for my Winx Club!AU. I really like how it came out aesthetically speaking, and I'm fond of the story. I do have some things I'd change about the story stemming from the fact I wrote it one sitting but I don't know if I'll ever make the changes. Still. It was a fun piece to write.
why did you first start writing fic? I really, really just wanted to write some more scenes for my favorite couples who I felt were robbed in books. I just wanted to write some cute shit, man. Since then I’ve written for 39 Clues, Maximum Ride, Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Powerpuff Girls, Hush, Hush, Danny Phantom, Giver, Legend of Korra, Jimmy Neutron, Code Lyoko, 100, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Lucifer, and Penryn & the End of Days.
what frustrates you most about fic writing? plot. specifically, non-emotional plot. like what even is that. If the plot is driven by emotional development, it’s still hard to come up with specific structures for moments but like if things need to happen outside of their emotions, oh whee boy do I struggle. For me, emotions tend to naturally evolve from one thing into the next and it’s easy for the characters to lead me where their emotions take them. It’s harder when things need to develop outside of that.
Other than that, motivation is a big roadblock. Struggling with depression, anxiety and my other responsibilities, I can go without touching a piece of writing for months. I feel the itch very often but it’s one that goes unindulged.
what are your top five songs right now? - Experience by Victoria Monét with Kahlid, SG Lewis  - BALI by Rich Brian with Guapdad 100 - Etch by RILEY THE MUSICIAN with Iker - Culver by Mac Wetha
what are your inspirations? Usually pictures or stories! My witch!AU was inspired by an aesthetic picture I saw on tumblr and most of my other stuff has been inspired by other stuff I read. It’s not necessarily specific plot points—though, sometimes some plot threads are too good to give up—but rather the emotional journey the characters go through. Poems and other media also feed the old noggin.
what first attracted you to Bellarke? what attracts you now? It turns out I have a thing for reluctant partners turned lovers. I really liked how the two shouldered responsibilities that no one else really had, and that despite their differences, they had the capacity to understand and empathize with each other when no one else would. It would've been so easy for Bellamy and Clarke to fall into an endless cycle of blaming each other for their decisions. We see it in the other characters, in other TV shows--a constant battle where only one person's philosophy can prevail. But with Bellamy and Clarke, they have always shown empathy and accepted each other. It might not have been right, maybe they themselves would've done something different, but at the end of the day, Bellamy and Clarke try to understand and accept each other for who they are. Present tense. I think that kind of, frankly mature, love is something we don't see in media all too often.
BESIDES Bellarke, what character or pairing do you like best on t100? hmmmm
I do enjoy memori, they make me happy. I also have a soft spot for Raven and Roan. Anything with Wells is gold bc I really want to see how he could've changed the show. Oh, and Minty. This wonderful idea will always be a favorite of mine.
why did you decide to start writing for bellarkefic-for-blm? I’ve been wanting to do more for a bit because I, personally, avoid social media activism. @bellarkefic-for-blm  is an amazing way to leverage whatever platform I have to incite awareness and action by using my strengths. I can do this really cool thing that I enjoy to help something critically important.
what’s your writing process like (esp for prompts, chopped!, etc)? it’s a hot diggity dog mess. I kind of do whatever I feel like. If I want to write a scene, I’ll write a scene. If I want to write dialogue, I’ll write dialogue. If I want to write an outline, I’ll write an outline. Chronological order is not guaranteed. Because writing tends to be an extremely emotionally exhaustive task for me, it’s easier for me to write more if I let go and follow whatever whims I have so that I don’t compromise my urge to write. My guarantee is that I try to milk the whim for whatever it’s worth. If I start an outline, I’ll finish it. I’ll have music in usually but I’ll pause it often to think about whatever it is I need to say.
what are some things you’d like to recommend? Some bellarke fics that’ll make you chuckle: So put your hands down my pants and I bet you’ll feel nuts by Chash You know you drive me up the wall by coffee_grounders The (Bullet Pointed) Life and Times of Bellamy Blake by crystalkei, dirtytrix
Other than that:
-       Albums: Ungodly Hour by Chloe x Halle, SAWAYAMA by Rina Sawayama, Punisher by Phoebe Bridgers -       Musicians: Matt Nathanson, Mat Kearney -       TV Shows: Nikita, Code Lyoko -       Books: Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
You can find her on here on Tumblr @that-english-nerd, or on her AO3 here. Request a fic written by her via @bellarkefic-for-blm.

BIOGRAPHY :
minjae was born ( their sister soon following after ) in london and was raised there until they were sixteen, thus their first language is english. however, he began learning korean when he was eleven because he found it difficult to communicate with his relatives that weren’t fluent in english. his mother was happy to teach him !
minjae and his sister were incredibly close. he finds it easy to confide in her, and she’s always there for him. she understands him in ways his parents never truly did, and for that he’s so thankful. despite her being younger than him, she’d always come to his defence, protecting him from kids who’d bully minjae for being the way he was ; they often poked fun at his cautious nature, as well as his intelligence and effeminate mannerisms. their harsh words bothered him, and continue to do so ; they’re the main reason his self-image began to decline. they don’t show it as much anymore, as they’ve adopted a stoic exterior, but deep down, they continue to hide certain parts of themself for fear of being scrutinized.
he didn’t participate in sports much as a kid. in fact, he spent his time indoors, immersed in books and other activities like drawing and playing dress up. his mother never really saw anything wrong with it at the time, though it always seemed to rub his father the wrong way. when he was eight, his father refused to let his ❝ son ❞ dress up, and he was brokenhearted. he felt like a part of him had been torn away. as a result of this, minjae withdrew from their father at an early age, finding that they were merely civil around each other, keeping contact to a minimum.
additionally, they found solace in activities such as reading, art, and photography. these hobbies helped him through the years until he discovered his love for fashion ; he was thirteen when this happened.
it wasn’t that minjae didn’t want to get into sports, more so his health didn’t allow him to. minjae was diagnosed a hemophiliac at a young age, which meant that he was prone to excessive bleeding. he often gets nosebleeds as a result of this, and even made a friend once as his nose began bleeding in class and the other person offered to escort him to the school nurse ( possible connection ? ) interestingly enough, minjae loves watching sports, and closely follows football ( soccer ).
their fondness toward fashion started as an interest and grew into a strong liking ; though the liking escalated into an obsession as it began to take its toll on his mental health. his self-image declined as he was surrounded with thin bodies and supposed perfection. he began to view himself under a toxic, negative light ( he was only fourteen ) which resulted in him beginning and keeping an extensive journal containing daily logs describing the amount of calories he’d eat, his weight, his body measurements, and his exercise routines. recording data in this journal became routine ; he’d write in it after every meal, and if he chose not to eat, right before bed. they also began to self-harm ( they burned themself ), using it as a coping method and a form of punishment whenever they’d eat more than their allowed amount.
he used to keep the notebook on his desk, though he once lost it and had a panic attack due to its absence. he makes sure to keep it under his mattress now.
minjae was in his first relationship ( potential connection ? ) when he was in high school. it didn’t last long, and there wasn’t truly any love shared between them ( at least he didn’t love them ), but it was interesting ; a time for minjae to discover himself, and what their views regarding romance were. he gathered enough courage to come out to his parents as pansexual, though it furthered the rift between him and his father. his mother wasn’t as resentful, but she wasn’t incredibly accepting either. she was indifferent in the worst way ; it broke minjae’s heart. his sister, thankfully, continued to welcome him with open arms.
he and his parents moved to seoul when minjae was sixteen, and though he didn’t mind the change in scenery, he lost the majority of his friends with the distance ( they continued to skype, but it wasn’t the same ). his father began to work more, and through time, minjae’s mother began to warm up to her son ; she didn’t love him any less, she was just adjusting to new information. with the move, she noticed her child’s decline in mood, and as compensation she bought him a cat ( minjae’s sister also helped persuade her to ) which oddly enough, helped a lot ? he named the black cat lilly, and he holds her near and dear to his heart. she keeps him sane in his darker days, and she likes to sleep in his room, or sit on his lap whenever he’s working away at his desk. fun fact : his phone background’s a photo of him and her together !!
he applied to a local university for fashion design after completing high school and that’s the major he ended up graduating in !! he was lucky enough to land a job as an assistant designer for a relatively known fashion company, though the job’s stressful sometimes, and it makes him want to rip his hair out. also, when he’s experiencing art block he falls into depression. he hasn’t been diagnosed as he refuses to talk with a doctor ; in his mind, he’s too busy to see one ! he just takes his work very ( too ) seriously !
he moved out of his parents’ house when he was twenty-two, and currently lives with his roommate ( and cat ! ) in a studio apartment. his sister was upset to see him go, but she busies herself with school, as she’s currently majoring in business. she doesn’t know what she wants to do career wise though. she often comes around to visit minjae, too ! she practically lives with him half the time.
he once collapsed from overworking himself for a design when he was still just a newbie at his job ( he was twenty-three ). thankfully, it was while he was at home, though his roommate ( potential connection ? ) found him passed out on the floor and helped him into bed and made sure he was okay ; warm, fed, rested, etc. minjae was thankful, but the presence of food made him feel extremely uncomfortable. he didn’t eat for two days following that, as a form of punishment. subsequently, he didn’t tell his family of the fainting spell ; he couldn’t bear to burden his sister.
they were also recently diagnosed with rheumatoid arthiritis following a doctor’s visit after they noticed pain beginning in their hands. minjae had taken himself to the doctor’s, alone, and it was one of the most terrifying experiences of his life ( he has an aversion to anything medical related ; it brings him back to his childhood, where he’d visit hospitals frequently due to his hemophilia ). during flare ups, minjae finds it increasingly difficult to work ; sewing and other intricate practices become nearly impossible, and as he refuses to seek help from his peers, he tends to grow frustrated and lash out at unsuspecting others.
currently, he continues to have maladaptive coping methods ( they do still self-harm ), atop their nonexistent eating habits and extensive food log, which remains hidden under the new mattress in their room. .
PERSONALITY :
he’s very quiet and insensitive, so if someone’s being annoying he’ll tell them, though deep, deep down he wants to be liked ; he just likes to sabotage himself a lot because he assumes he isn’t allowed to be happy. he’s scared of happiness ?
he also likes to paint his nails a lot ; he enjoys it and often paints them his favourite colour ( black ). it makes him feel more connected with himself ? it reminds him of when he used to play dress up ! though whenever he goes to see his family, he takes the nail polish off. his dad caught minjae with it on once, and he was not happy.
he’s also a huge fan of indie bands, the music relaxes him. if anyone close to him asks for music recs, he’ll go on for days about them, or anything else he likes for that matter !

5 Copywriting Tips For Beginners
youtube
Are you a new copywriter that’s just getting into the business or maybe you want to learn copywriting in, you’re not so sure how to get started today I’m going to share with you 5 operating tips, for beginner so if you are a beginner you just, getting started this video, for you, tip number one, and that is desire is much more important than your, degree, don’t be intimidated by the idea of learning how to write, copy I remember when I first, learn about copywriting, i poked myself I was a bit, unsure and I did have lost certainty, could I do this cuz, i didn’t do so well in school I flunk English, twice, when I was, in high school and I don’t have a journalism degree could I actually do this, and what I realize is, that when it comes to copywriting, a lot of things that we learn in school, In medieval in journalism, stew’s don’t apply, those, proper academic writing is very different from copywriting, why academic writing is designed to, educate, right that’s why they kind of, dry to be very boring kind of text, look like, copywriting, it’s a form of writing that is designed to sell, to convert, a a prospect into a customer, a very much a street smart condom, skill not so much, school smart, why you think about school smart it, you know Accounting in engineering and all these excuses, versus cooperating it’s much more Street Smart, over all these years I’ve had maybe maybe, one or two clients and Prospects asking me hey do you have any degree in, writing do you have a degree in journalism, they do not care what daycare is, can your, writing, produce, results, cooperating tip number 2 and Daddy’s Nasser, short form coffee before you, Burn long-form copy know what I mean by that, so when it comes to copywriting, there’s so many different types of cockroaches, long-form am referring to a TV along landing page, right to be, like 5 10 pages, crafting a webinar, crafting a, direct mail piece if you’re doing any kind of dragon, that’s, that’s okay but it takes years to learn, and home you craft, i always suggest to my carpeting students when did you, looney when it just getting started, london short form copy, i’m talking about it could be an email, right it could be an autoresponder sequence, in an e-mail it could be a social media post, equipment Instagram, it could be a short-form Facebook app even Google ads with just a headline, in a few lines write your learning, how people respond, you’re busy crafting, short paragraph on Headline, once you get, feedback and you get data in this sense of, Hey this was what but that wouldn’t work.
Daniel holding a skip, and also it feels your confidence, right. Sometimes when you write a long page, you it’s like 10 20 pages, it is so intimidating, he might take you, three weeks to craft something versus if you got something short, a short email he might just take you 30 minutes if you’re good, an hour, and you can test it you can send it to a client, the eye thing is much, easy way, to get again, operating temp number 3 and Daddy’s spent 80, percent of your time, doing research, and only 20% of the time, writing now one of them is sticks I see a lot of, beginner corporate is make is thinking outside if they can wait to go to the laptop or you got a pan and you, grab the legal pad and they start writing, That’s not what you want to do, you want to spend a majority of the time, researching about your prospects, getting to know, what what are the frustrations what are the pinpoint one of their gold, where do they want to get you once you, know a lot about your prospects, you much, easier you have much easier time crafting a message, death speaks, directly to them something that they would resonate, versus you rush into it you just want to write, if you do your job right, if you do your research right, when you actually, write that coffee it is so much easier and so much, faster, so spend a lot of time thinking about it, just researching about it, right just think it through, single thing about the hooks thing about the pain points think about the messages, before you want a single, operating temp number for and that is right the way, You talk, see that’s why having that, the green alien, and getting that formal education is, actually not that important because, when it comes to copy it Isabel, communicating, you connecting, in communicating with, your customer or your prospect on your reader, so you want to write in very simple language, so I’ll give example, sometimes you might use what I caught one sentence, paragraph, which in English is not very proper sometimes I when I ride I even use, one, word, paragraph, so imagine if I’m actually talking lady, 1 Word paragraph, . and then I will stop the next paragraph, i get this is very unconventional but when it comes to copy it worked, why work because it’s easy, 2 Reasons Why don’t like the way you talk, you want your prospect when they are reading your message, they can almost, here, you talking to them, They can hear your voice, right versus when you read something you like, man this is like, i can’t even, you’re losing me I am confused so this is, so difficult to understand, riker sometimes I think academic writer, you know how it is, they try to write something to, to make themselves sound smart, but it’s not very easily understandable by, the audience, so you don’t want it right away, that you talked also when you’re writing, think of you are writing to one person versus, writing to a group of, okay so instead of using a lot of, you know we, or using a lot of hours use a lot of, you, raise a one-to-one communication, i love you a lot of I, it’s me, sitting across the table I’m just communicating I’m, talking to you versus, i will company is Bubba block that’s not very personal, The more personal it is the most powerful the most.
Compelling, your copy is, arete UA, a short paragraph you and you just pay attention to it, writing right, professional communication, help meet the challenges, i’ll 2 days, digital world, where communication is more important than ever, bC its, billy Woody is very, blake, what, so he’s the way I would, express exactly the same thing, locate me in 3 words, coffee, equals, money, coffee, equals, money, you see a difference, cooperative number 5 and that is tooting your own, swipe, files, now what I mean by that, things of yours, will swipe files they are your, cooperating, okay so as a beginner because you don’t have a lot of experience why you want to do you want to study other people, work, you want to look at Oculus email and other people’s landing pages, anna peoples, letters and mocking messages in, catalogs and everything that they do full page ad because when you study other people’s work, You, stop picking up pads, so when you need to write something that last thing you want to do is you, donate computer and you’re staring at a blank, screen, and try to come up, stuff that’s very very difficult to do that’s not what professionals do, professional copywriters, they have this Archive of, swipe file they would refer to hit you know what I need to write a campaign for, a, supplement product, okay, instead of trying to, volume is think it’s going to be I think I’ll sell it this way this will be the offer know they would go back and say home okay, in the last 5 years 10 years, what are some of the ads what are some of the proven offers, selling, similar product right, maybe in a supplement, that I can look., He’s a hawk, that works, he’s an angle that work, who the headline that works, what they do is they look at all of that, okay I think I could come up with something that’s, similar, right or maybe I can change the angle a little bit depends on what you’re selling, and then there you go, so it’s not about creativity for the, sikacrete empty I want to come up with, something that no one’s ever, ever came up with that is stupid, okay you don’t want to do that, because when you go to the bank, when you deposit your, cooperating check, write someone hires you to write the write the copy, no one is going to, is this your original idea here, right to tell us you’re not going to ask you that, nutella just want to know why how much, is deposit dividend don’t care they do not care, Does not look for activities and is they don’t don’t care, how long, he told me to write this, this piece of crap, they do not give you less money if you say or talk to you like a long month and you have no idea, ice was sitting in front of my computer and it, spending hours on it or you know what I spend one day on it that’s it, they don’t give you more money for spending less, left for spending more time to give you less money has it been last time, it doesn’t matter so, bee smart building up your, wife while I have a massive, massive, why file in my library I mean, like, thousands and thousands, sUV idea, you know those three ring binders like those three binders with like, this thick, i’ve got Polly, 60 mg of Dos, In my life.
That I collected over the years, i could easily, think of a Veneta campaign hey he’s a campaign from x monoma x x number of years ago that’s produced, $5000000, right there, i would know, what if I’m The Proven campaigns and, and winning piece, that I could get ideas and, build your own, swipe file, you see one of the things that people don’t understand is there are many aspects, to cooperating, and copywriter, amounts of the highest, paid, professionals, the world I call them high, income Cocker, if you want to learn how to become a, high-income copywriter you want to know, the different aspects of of copulating and which one you should, pursue your path in, and what types of coffees, should focus on, clinton below and check on life, free on-demand training, on exactly, how, do that so go ahead, clearlink,
