Christmas Reruns 2024âDay 14: Eli the Elf
Merry Christmas if you celebrate it and happy holidays if you donât! One of the things I love about Christmas is watching reruns of all the old classic Christmas moviesâChristmas is a big time for nostalgia. A few years ago, I decided to incorporate that tradition into my fandom life and post my CS holiday reruns. So here you go! Enough holiday (mostly) fluff to get you to New Yearâs Day. (With a new story posting on Christmas Day.)

Elf on the Shelf
Note:Â This fic was originally written for Fluffy Fridays last year
Emma collapsed onto the sofa in her living room. Being the parent of a rambunctious, mischievous three-year-old was not for the faint of heart, that was for sure. Not that sheâd change her crazy life for anything. Emma loved Hope Swan-Jones with all her heart. After all the months and even years she and Killian had tried for a baby with no success, there was no doubt that Hope was their miracle, their second chance, their opportunity to be a family.  Â
As Emmaâs maternity leave had neared its end, Emma and Killian had come to the decision that they wanted to be there for and with their daughter every hour of the day. Daycare simply wasnât an option for them, so theyâd come to an arrangement: theyâd trade off days. One day Emma went into the station and Killian stayed home with Hope, and the next day they swapped.
Lately, it seemed like Emma was far more tired at the end of her days with Hope than she was at the end of her days as the sheriff. Who would have thought those early months where Hope barely slept would actually end up being the easy parts of parenting?Â
Hope was a good girl, sweet, affectionate, smart as a whip, but she was also the daughter of a pirate. Seemed like Emma couldnât turn around for a second without Hope making another mess or getting onto some sort of mischief.Â
Emma let herself succumb to sleep while Killian put Hope to bedâno doubt with a thrilling, overly dramatic bedtime story, like he did nearly every night. Hope adored his talesâŠand everything else about her Papa. Emma knew her daughter loved her, but there was no doubt she was a daddyâs girl.
The couch dipped beside her, waking Emma abruptly.
âMy apologies love,â Killian said, âI didnât mean to wake you.â
Emma yawned before settling into Killianâs waiting arms. âDonât worry about it. I was just kind of resting my eyes. Donât want to sleep through the evening when we finally get to have a little alone time.â
Killian brushed a kiss against the crown of her head and tightened his arms around her. âI worry about you love. Youâve been so tired lately. Are you sure nothingâs amiss?â
Emma kissed him gently. âIâm fine, Killian, I promise. Guess Iâm just having a tougher time navigating life as a working parent than I thought I would.â
âAre you sureâŠ?â
âI am,â she said decisively. âItâs just, we have a very busy, active toddler on our hands. I love her like you would not believe, but by the end of the day, Iâm so tired I feel like I could sleep standing up.â
Killianâs brow furrowed. âThe lass is three now, old enough to begin to understand consequences. Perhaps we should begin discussing disciplinary tactics.â
âYou know, I was thinking about that today,â Emma said, settling against Killianâs chest and resting her hand over his heart, loving the comfort his softly thumping heartbeat gave her.
âChristmas is coming up in a couple of weeks, and I thought maybe we could make use of some of the traditions to convince her to work on her behavior.â
âSwan, if youâre referring to that Santa Claus fellow, Iâm not entirely sure I approve,â Killian said, voice sternly disapproving.
Emma laughed. âYou are morally opposed to Santa Claus? Why?â
âOne cannot seem to patronize any establishment in this town without hearing his song,â Killian said, âHe sees you when youâre sleeping. He knows when youâre awake. He knows if youâve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake. Swan, this Santa fellow sounds like one of the worst villains weâve faced yet.â
Emma laughed again. âKillian itâs just a song, and itâs all in fun. Kids love Santa. Heâs the one who brings them presents.â
Emma could see in Killianâs face that he wasnât convinced.
âAnyway,â she continued, âthatâs not what I was talking about, not really. Thereâs this other tradition parents do sometimes. Called Elf on the Shelf. You get this toy elf, and the idea is that it watches the kids and kind of reports to Santa. Each night the parents move the elf, so itâs like itâs alive. The fun of it is that the kid never knows where the elf is going to show up next. Plus, knowing thereâs an elf watching you, well, itâs extra incentive to be on your best behavior.â
âAre you daft, Swan?â Killian exclaimed. âThis âElf on the Shelfâ sounds, if possible, even more horrifying than Santa Claus! Iâd rather not traumatize our daughter.âÂ
âWould you stop being such a drama queen?â Emma asked, laughter still evident in her voice. âI promise you itâs all in fun. This isnât some Christmasy âscare the kid straightâ thing.  Kids love it. It brings the magic of Christmas to life.âÂ
Killian was clearly still skeptical, but finally conceded. âVery well, Swan. Weâll try this Elf on the Shelf, but if it gives Hope nightmares, I must put my foot down.â
âRelax babe,â Emma said. âIf the elf gives Hope nightmares, Iâll personally lock it in our dungeon.Â
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Â
The next morningÂ
Killian stepped into Grannyâs and made a b-line for the large booth at the back of the establishment, seeing David and Rogers already present.Â
After the realms had combined, Dave had suggested he and Killian get together with Rogers, as the town decided to continue referring to his alternate reality version, to help him get adjusted to life in Storybrooke. This get together quickly became a weekly thing.
Emma referred to their weekly breakfasts as the âbrot3 convention.â Killian hadnât a clue what that might mean, but the phrase brought a delighted smile to Swanâs face, and that was enough to make Killian adopt the language. There was very little he wouldnât do to make his wife smile.Â
âHey Killian! Good to see you,â David said.Â
Killian noted the fatigue in his father-in-lawâs eyes and the yawn he was attempting to stifle.Â
âThe lass keep you up last night?â he asked sympathetically.
David and Mary Margaretâs daughter Ava was quickly approaching her first birthday. Sheâd come as a surprise to the couple whoâd believed their family was complete after the birth of Neal, but she was a very welcome and loved surprise.Â
âYeah,â David said, and then took a bracing sip of his coffee. âShe was up every two hours last night.âÂ
âI thought you said sheâd finally begun sleeping through the night,â Rogers said.Â
âShe did,â David said, âbut I think sheâs teething. Runny nose, running a bit of a fever, wanting to chew on everything.âÂ
Both Hooks nodded in understanding and sympathy. âI donât miss those days with my Alice,â Rogers said.  Â
Their conversation was put on hold as a waitress, wearing a festive Santa hat and necklace made of Christmas lights, took their order.Â
âSo how about you, Killian?â David asked after the waitress walked away, âHowâs everything going with your family?âÂ
Killian frowned. âI must admit, Iâm a bit concerned about Emma. Sheâs been so exhausted lately and a couple of times sheâs gotten dizzy. She insists itâs nothing, but Iâm near to insisting she visit Doctor Whale.â
âTired and feeling faint?â David asked. âAny other issues?â
âIt was the strangest thing,â Killian said, furrowing his brow. âThis morning I attempted to serve her her customary PopTart for breakfast, but she insisted she couldnât stomach it. She actually asked for boiled mackerel and grapefruit.âÂ
âTired, feeling faint, and with significant changes in appetite,â David listed off. To Killianâs surprise (and consternation) a grin covered his father-in-lawâs face. âI think Emmaâs right. I think you have nothing to worry about.âÂ
âOther than life getting significantly busier in eight or nine months,â Rogers said with a grin identical to Davidâs.Â
It took Killian a moment to put the dots together, but then his eyes widened. âYou think Emma could be with child?âÂ
âI have very little experience with these things, my own daughterâs birth being so veryâŠ.unorthodox,â Rogers said, âbut it certainly seems possible.âÂ
Killian felt the joy bubble up in him. Another child! He and Swan may have another child. It was a blessing he hadnât even allowed himself to wish for, given the difficulties theyâd had conceiving Hope.Â
âI suppose there was that one weekend away we had just before Thanksgiving,â Killian said slowly, âwhen Alice and Robin stayed with Hope. We did engage in copious amounts of intimate activitiesâŠâÂ
Rogers barked out a laugh and David groaned, reminding Killian of just how much his father-in-law did not want to hear the specifics.Â
Breakfast was a joyous affair following the pregnancy speculation, the three men discussing their lives over the past week.Â
Killian walked home with an extra spring in his step. This Christmas was shaping up to be one of the best heâd ever had.Â
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
âGrandma, what do you think about putting the wreath here?â Lucy asked, holding the Disneyâs Captain Hook themed wreath against their front door.Â
Emma laughed. âLooks great kid. Itâll get a good natured grumble out of your gramps every time he walks by.â
It was still weird to get used to being called Grandma, but Emmaâs heart warmed at the thought that Henry was back to stay and that sheâd have the chance to get to know her daughter-in-law and granddaughter in a way sheâd missed out on over the first decade of Lucyâs life.
Lucy laughed, turning to Charming to ask him to hammer a nail for her so she could hang the wreath.
It had become a Christmastime tradition since the merging of the realms. The whole family got together to decorate each otherâs houses and then have dinner together. This weekend, a mere two weeks before Christmas, it was the Swan-Jones householdâs turn to host (and get decorated).Â
Emma took a step back, watching as her family, her whole, big boisterous extended family worked to make her home look like something out of the Hallmark channel. Regina and Zelena stood by the impressively large pine tree stringing garland, Alice, Robin and Rogers worked to make the hearth festive, Henry, Jacinda, Killian and her dad were braving the frigid temperatures outside to string lights on the bushes and the front of the house, Neal was occupying Hope in the playroom, Ava napped in the nursery and Snow worked away in the kitchen on what Emma was sure would be an amazing dinner.Â
It was the type of scene youâd see in one of those cheesy Christmas movies. Happy family enjoying each otherâs company while they decorate for Christmas and listen to carols. It was even picture perfect outside, with the snow gently falling.Â
It was perfect, and Emma loved every minute of it.
While Hope was occupied with Neal, Emma grabbed the elf on the shelf, looking around for the perfect place to move him. Maybe sheâd put him in Hopeâs room tonight.Â
Emma wasnât sure if the elf was all that effective as a disciplinary tool. She hadnât noticed a significant lessening of mischief since she and Killian had introduced âEli the Elfâ, but Hope certainly seemed delighted in looking for him every morning.Â
And the joy on her daughterâs face was really what was most important, when it came down to it. It was Christmas, the time for child-like wonder.Â
Emma wandered into the kitchen, pausing for a moment and taking stock of her stomach. Seemed like smells nauseated her at the drop of a hat latelyâone of the main reasons her mom had offered to make the meal for their get together (the other being neither she nor Killian could cook worth a damn). Emma sighed in relief when she noticed the smells elicited hunger rather than nausea.Â
âAnything I can help you with, mom?âÂ
Snow turned from the stove where she was stirring something as it bubbled merrily away. âYou sure youâre feeling up to it? I know how rough it can be in the early months.âÂ
Emma gave her mom an assessing look, subconsciously placing a protective hand over her belly. âYou know, donât you?âÂ
Snow abandoned the pot on the stove and rushed over to give Emma a warm, motherly hug. âAbout the baby? Your father told when he came home from the last brot3 convention.ïżœïżœ Oh Emma! Iâm so excited for you and Killian! Is it official? Do you know for sure?âÂ
Emma felt the familiar mix of anticipation, joy and fear bubble up inside her. After his last breakfast with the guys, Killian had come home with a smile on his face.Â
âWhatâs up with you?â sheâd asked. âI havenât seen you so excited since they had that buy one get one special on rum at The Rabbit Hole.â
Killian had led her to the couch. âItâs been some time since your last monthly, hasnât it?â
âUhâŠyeah. I guess Iâm a few days late. Why?â
âI was talking to your father and RogersâŠâ
âYou were talking to my father about my period?â she asked, brows furrowed.Â
He laughed. âOf course not, love! I merely mentioned your fatigue and appetite changes.â
âOkayâŠ..âÂ
âYour fatherâŠâ Killian said, taking her hand, âyour father raised the possibility that there could be a very specific cause for your symptoms. Love, is it possible youâre with child again?âÂ
Emmaâs eyes had widened, the possibility not even entering her mind before he brought it up.  Â
âWith child? Killian, we havenât even been trying.âÂ
âNo, but weâve also not not been trying,â he said. âAnd I can recall a few very satisfying encounters over the past few weeks that could have very well resulted in a new lifeâŠâÂ
Snow tapped Emma on the shoulder, and Emma realized sheâd spaced out, her face flaming slightly as her mind went to a few of those âvery satisfying encountersâ. Killianâs skills as a lover were ridiculous. Sheâd really hit the jackpot.Â
âUhâŠsorry mom,â Emma said, âwhat were you saying?âÂ
âI was asking if you got it confirmed.âÂ
âNo,â Emma said, thinking of the pregnancy test currently residing in their bathroom medicine cabinet. âIâm a little afraid to take the pregnancy test, to be honest.âÂ
Snow led Emma to a chair at her dining room table and urged her to sit. âWhy, honey?âÂ
Emma shrugged. âWhat if itâs negative? I mean I have all the classic symptoms, and this is exactly how I felt with Hope, butâŠ.I mean, we had such a hard time getting pregnant with Hope. What if this is just some weird flu or something? Killian and I are already excited about Baby Swan-Jones #2. If it turns out he or she isnât actually on the wayâŠâÂ
Snow reached over and hugged Emma. âFor what itâs worth, from what your father told me, I really, really donât think this is a false alarm, but if it isâŠâ Snow shrugged. âWell if it is a false alarm, you and Killian can have lots of fun trying to make it a reality over the next few months.âÂ
âMom!â Emma said.Â
Snow shrugged again, a wicked grin on her face. âRemember, I know how much you and Killian enjoyâŠpancakes.âÂ
Emma made her hasty exit, opting to check on the kids before her mother started talking about her own taco sessions with David.
Still, apart from the very uncomfortable thought of discussing her sex life with her mother, Snow had a point. What did she and Killian have to lose? She resolved sheâd take the pregnancy test the very next day.Â
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Â
The next afternoon, around nap time.Â
Hope Swan-Jones was not happy. Â
She wasnât sleepy. Why did Mama make her take naps? Sleeping was no fun at all! Uncle Neal didnât have to take naps; why should she?Â
Sheâd asked Mama that one day, and Mama said it was because Neal was twelve years old. Twelve-year-olds didnât have to take naps.Â
Hope wished she was twelve. Not three.Â
Hope glanced over at the shelf high on the wall and noticed Eli the Elf peering down at her. She stuck her small, pink tongue out at him.
âIâm not going to go to sleep,â she said rebelliously, âand I donât care if you tell Santa!âÂ
Hope continued to look at Eli as her eyelids started getting heavy in spite of herself. That was another thing. Why didnât Mama and Daddy ever let her play with Eli? He was a doll just like the others she had in her play chest. Why couldnât she play with him?
Hope knew better than to leave her bed when Mama said to take a nap, but still, she reached out her hand as though to reach for the elf. Suddenly she felt kind of funny, like there was something warm and bubbly just under her skin. She watched in amazement as a beam of white light shot from her outstretched fingers, and suddenly Eli the Elf was zooming towards her, right into her arms.Â
DidâŠdid she have magic like Mama did?Â
Maybe she should try again.Â
She looked at the elf and then reached her hand out the way Mama did when she did magic. âI want you to play with me, elf,â she whispered.Â
The strange warm bubbly feeling happened again, and another burst of magic shot out. Â
Suddenly Eli the Elf stood up on his own, blinked twice and then grinned at her in a way Daddy would have said meant trouble.Â
âEli the Elf at your service,â he said with a bow. âSo kid, you ready to have some fun?âÂ
Hope glanced toward the door, afraid Mama would hear. âShhhhhh!â she said. âWeâre supposed to be asleep!âÂ
The elf rolled his eyes. âNaps are for Grinches. Youâre not a Grinch, are you, kid?â
She shook her head no.Â
âGood,â Eli said, âso hereâs what I think we should do nextâŠ.â
Eli the Elf went on to outline a plan of chaos that made Hopeâs eyes widen. Surely he wouldnât dare!Â
She shook her head. âWe canât! Weâll get in trouble!âÂ
âThe threat of getting caught is half the fun,â Eli said, before jumping off the bed and making a dash for the partially opened door. âIâm going to do it, whether you follow me or not.âÂ
Hope climbed out of bed and tiptoed to the door.  She had to stop him! She was going to be in so much trouble!Â
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Â
That eveningÂ
Killian closed Hopeâs door and made his way down the stairs to the kitchen where he set about preparing a nice steaming mug of hot cocoa.Â
He had a feeling Swan would need it after the day sheâd had.Â
Killian had come home from the station, smile on his lips and spring in his stepâŠonly to find the living room in shambles and Emma on the couch crying.Â
Heâd rushed to her. âSwan! What happened? Are you hurt? Is Hope alright?âÂ
Emma swiped at her cheeks and got to her feet. âWeâre fine, Killian,â she rushed to reassure, stepping into his arms and burying her face in his chest. âItâs justâŠIâm so damn tired, and she was supposed to be napping, and I come downstairs, andâŠwell, just look!âÂ
Emma gestured to the living room. The bottom half of the Christmas tree was completely bare, the baubles that had previously adorned its branches were strewn over the floor, a couple of the delicate glass ones broken against the hearth.Â
His eyes widened. Hope had done this?Â
âSwan, there must be some mistake,â he said, âHope is mischievous, to be sure, but sheâs never blatantly engaged in destruction and she loves our Christmas tree.âÂ
Emma collapsed on the couch, pulling him with her. âShe was in here, Killian,â Emma said, one fat tear of exhaustion rolling down her face. âI caught her red-handed. Literally. She was holding that stupid red Santa ornament in her hand when I showed up. When I asked her what she was doing, she lied to me. Lied right to my face.âÂ
âThat doesnât sound like my lass at all,â Killian said, his brow furrowing as he wrapped his wife in his comforting embrace. âIâve never known her to speak a falsehood. What happened?âÂ
âShe told meâŠget thisâŠshe told me Eli the Elf did it! That damn elf on the shelf was lying on the ground next to the tree. Not only did she disobey me and leave her room during naptime, she somehow got her hands on the elf, went on a tree destroying spree, and then lied to me. Killian, I donât even know what to do with her anymore!âÂ
Emma started crying in earnest, and Killian hugged her to him, rocking her slightly and caressing her hair. âWhere is the lass now, love?âÂ
âSheâs in her room,â Emma said, voice thick with tears. âIâŠKillian, I kind of lost my temper. I raised my voice a little. She looked so surprised and almost, I donât know, betrayed. I sent her to her room, because apparently I canât parent worth a crap, but I wanted a chance to cool down before I said anything else to her that I might regret.âÂ
âSh,â Killian said. âEmma you are a wonderful mother. Never doubt that. We all lose our temper and have moments we arenât particularly proud of. Weâll sort this out. Together.âÂ
Heâd stayed with Emma a few more moments, holding her as she cried, and then heâd gone to have a talk with Hope.Â
Now, 20 minutes later, steaming mug of cocoa in hand, he returned to the Christmas carnage that was their living room.Â
Emma took the cocoa with a grateful smile. âHow is she?â
Killianâs brow furrowed. âSheâs settled for the moment, and she seems quite apologetic over what happened. What say we put this tree to rights, aye?âÂ
âKillian, you donât have toâŠâ she called after him as he began gathering discarded ornaments and placing them on the tree. âI can just zap it with my magicâŠâÂ
âNonsense, love,â he said, âyouâre exhausted and at your wits end. Rest, let me handle this.â
He made quick work of righting the tree as he heard Emma sigh behind him. As he worked, his brow furrowed. He knew Emma was upset after her difficult day with Hope, but he knew Emma Swan-Jones, perhaps better than she knew herself. There was something else on her mind, something else that was causing her significant distress.Â
Killian set the last bauble on the tree and then sat beside his wife, opening his arms and waiting for her to settle against him before he spoke.Â
âSwan, I know when your heart is heavy,â he said. âShare your burden with me. Whatâs amiss?âÂ
âWell HopeâŠâÂ
He stopped her with a gentle finger to her lips. âAye, sheâs been rather difficult today, but thereâs more isnât there?â
She glanced aside, before reaching for the small box on the coffee table and handing it to him.  Â
He glanced at it, noting it was one of those wands that could tell if a woman was with child.Â
âSwanâŠ?âÂ
âIâŠI thought I should take the test,â Emma said, voice thick, âyou know, to make sure weâre really pregnant like we think we are.â
âBut itâs still in its box unopened.âÂ
âYeah,â she said, glancing aside. âI wanted to wait for you to take it, and thenâŠâÂ
âThen?â He prompted.Â
âWell I got scared.âÂ
âOf what?â he said, hugging her to him, âwhat frightens you?âÂ
She was quiet for a moment, taking the test back, and turning the box over and over absent-mindedly. âWhat if itâs negative?âÂ
Killian rubbed her back in a comforting motion. âSwan, weâll cross that bridge if we get to it.â
âBut I know how excited you are already about this kidâŠWhat ifâŠ?âÂ
Killian stopped her with a soft kiss. âEmma, I would be delighted to welcome a new wee pirate or princess into our home, but even if it doesnât happen, even if it never happens, I will be perfectly contented. I have a wife I adore, a daughter I love beyond measure, and a step son with a family to dote upon.âÂ
She sat up and looked carefully at him. âDo you really mean that?âÂ
âAye,â he said with a decisive nod. âBut I can see the toll this uncertainty is taking upon you. Perhaps itâs best if we find out once and for all.â
Emma took a deep breath, seeming to steel herself for whatever was to come, and then she got to her feet, taking the box with her. âOkay, Iâm going to go take the test. Wait here.âÂ
Emma padded to the powder room off the kitchen, emerging two minutes later, pregnancy test in hand. âOkay, babe, moment of truth,â she said, handing him the small, white wand. âI canât look.âÂ
Killian took a deep breath and then looked down.Â
Two pink lines.
âSwan,â he said, smile suffusing his whole face, âitâs positive!âÂ
She reached for the device, looking for herself before letting out a joyful shout. âPositive! Killian, weâre gonna have a baby!âÂ
Killian got to his feet, enveloped her in his arms and swung her around, both of them laughing and crying. Emma leaned down and captured Killianâs lips with her own, pouring all of her joy and relief into her kiss. They collapsed back onto the couch, the kiss continuing as they smiled against each otherâs lips.Â
Suddenly a shout pierced through their haze of love and happiness. A shout coming from the direction of Hopeâs bedroom.Â
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Â
Hope swiped at the tear tracks on her cheeks. It wasnât fair; it just wasnât fair! Eli the Elf was the one who did the bad things and she got in trouble for it.
No one believed her. Not even Daddy. Oh, he wasnât as upset as Mama was, but he didnât believe her either; she could see it in his face.Â
And he was disappointed in her. That was the worst.Â
She wished Eli the Elf had never come here!
As soon as sheâd followed him from her bedroom and saw him about to start messing up their pretty tree, sheâd tried to stop him. Sheâd tried to use her magic like Mama did, but it hadnât worked. Maybe Hope sized magic wasnât as powerful as Mama sized magic.
When her magic hadnât worked, sheâd tried to catch him and make him stop, but he was too fast for her.Â
He wouldnât stop until Mama walked into the room. Then he played dead and let Hope get in trouble.Â
âHow long you gonna let them keep you couped up in here, kid?â Eli asked from the shelf where Mama had tossed him when she marched Hope to her room. âThe Christmas tree was fun, but there are lots of bigger and better things we can do to shake up this place a little.âÂ
âDonât you dare!â Hope growled at him under her breath. âYou already made Mama yell at me and cry.â
Eli shrugged, and hopped down from the shelf, opening her drawers, rifling through, tossing toys and clothes every which way.Â
âYou stop that right now!â Hope shouted.Â
The little imp ignored her, continuing on with his perusal of her things.
Hope was normally a good tempered child. She rarely got upset, but now, finally this elf had gone too far. She was not going to get in trouble again for something he did! She closed her eyes, concentrated as hard as she could and then thrust her arm toward the elf.
Hope knew her magic was working even before it shot from her fingers, the warmth and electricity flowing from her surrounded the elf, wrapping him in light magic bands, like a glowing rope.Â
âThere!â she cried triumphantly. âNow Iâve got you!âÂ
Eli the elf grinned. It was not a pleasant sight.Â
âI wouldnât be so sure,â Eli said in a smug voice. âYou see kid, your magic brought me to life. It canât stop me. It can only make me stronger.âÂ
Hope watched in horror as Eli puffed himself up until he got bigger and bigger and bigger. Soon he was almost as big as Daddy.Â
âMama! Daddy!â Hope screamed, knowing things had gone completely out of her control.Â
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Â
Killian burst through the nursery door, his hook at the ready, prepared to battle whatever foe was menacing his daughter.Â
Or so he thought.Â
Nothing could have prepared him for the sight of the Elf on the Shelf not only alive but gigantic. For a moment, he stood frozen in the doorway, his jaw dropped and his eyes wide, and then he jumped into action, bursting through the door, putting himself in between Hope and her elf.Â
âCygnet go! Get to safety!â
The elf laughed, knocking Killian aside as though he were merely a ragdoll. âYou think you can defeat me?â the elf taunted. âYou think you canâŠâÂ
But before he could finish his thought, suddenly he shrunk, eyes becoming glassy, body turning back to cloth and cotton.
âYeah, Iâm sure he could have,â Emma said, stepping into the room and kicking the elf sheâd just turned back into a toy, âbut he doesnât have to. Iâll take great pleasure in kicking yourâŠâ she glanced toward Hope âbutt all the way back to the North Pole.âÂ
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Â
Several hours later, Emma climbed into her big, comfortable four-poster bed and burrowed into her husbandâs warmth.Â
âSo, never a dull moment in Storybrooke is there?â she said, deadpan.Â
Killian laughed, rubbing comforting circles along her back. âFinal battle won, final villain defeated, and yet it still seems thereâs more excitement in this small burg than in any of the realms.â
Emma chuckled and then sobered. âI didnât believe her, Killian. My own daughter, and I didnât believe her when she told us the truth about what happened. What kind of a person does that make me?âÂ
âA human being,â Killian said gently. âHer story was rather outlandish. I had my doubts as well, if youâll recall. Hope is resilient love. She knows how much you love her, and sheâs forgiven you already.âÂ
After sheâd zapped the elf, turned it back into an inanimate object and then locked it in their creepy Dark One dungeon that they kept padlocked until they could figure out how to turn it back into a normal basement, Emma had returned to Hopeâs bedroom and given her a long, comforting hug, feeling her toddler sniff against her as the fear and excitement of the day slowly receded.Â
âIâm so sorry, baby,â Emma murmured into Hopeâs riotous blond curls. âI should have listened when you tried to tell me the truth.â
âItâs okay Mama,â Hope said. âIt was my fault Eli comed to life.â
Hope had gone on to explain the whole story to her stunned parents.Â
âWe really did make an amazing kid, didnât we?â Emma said. âHow did it never even occur to us that she might have magic?âÂ
âA terrible oversight on our part, love,â Killian said, chuckling. âSheâs the second generation product of True Love. Of bloody course she has magic.âÂ
âWe need to talk to Regina, have her train Hope, get a handle on this thing,â Emma said. âMagicâs great, but man can it go wrong if you donât have it controlled.âÂ
Killian kissed her. âAye.â Reaching down, he cupped her still-flat stomach, caressing their unborn child in the only way he could at the moment. âWhat do you think are the odds this wee one will have magic as well?âÂ
Emma groaned. âWeâre in for a wild ride with two of them, arenât we?âÂ
Killian laughed. âThat we are, Swan, but itâs nothing we canât handle. Together, this family can handle anything.âÂ
Emma hummed in agreement, and for a moment they fell silent, and then Killian chuckled.
âWhat?â she asked, noting the mischievous look in his eyes.
âI think it would only be good form, love, for you to admit that I was right about the Elf on the Shelf.âÂ
Emma rolled her eyes with a grin. âAnd youâre never going to let me forget it, are you?âÂ
He shook his head. âNever.âÂ
Emma sighed. âThereâs going to be no living with you after this. I dread the moment you learn about the Easter Bunny.â

Hiii i tried to type up the open C poem based on your transcription!!! it looks like this currently:

italicized parts are where i am uncertain, square brackets are words i couldn't read or suggestions for what misspelled words could be.
reasonably sure the second half of line 12 and line 13 are the same but I'm unsure what they say; the Procter poem has a line about "the dolphins bared their backs of gold" which matches 12 but not 13.
ALSO i completely agree that someone other than peglar wrote this page. which is unrelated to my typing up this whole thing but. !!!
Soooo yea would love to hear ur thoughts !!!
HELLOOOOOO omg this is so exciting. I'm gonna add this in as well because I already have it made, but ours are pretty similar!!! I think in the second stanza there's a lot that matches up with the procter poem as well...
and i think even with the minor differences between mine and yours and also potter's lol (especially in lines 10-13) it's still amazing to have a different set of eyes on it trying to figure out whats going onnnnn..... in my heart i truly do believe that it was probably henry reciting the original poem aloud from memory while Someone Else (đ...........) was practicing his letters, but its very affirming to have you also agree that someone besides henry wrote this lmfaoo
especially at the "back of gold / call of god / ball of gold" portion, TO MEEE it really looks like the Someone Else (đȘŠđ»đđ§ŁđđȘšâïž........) went Ah hell, that's kind of messy-- stop talking for a minute, i want to try writing this line again. before continuing on with the last stanza ("on old england shore" and so forth)
VERY COOL STUFF...... thank you for sharingđ«¶

the reason why my August vacation is so important...
This is a long, kinda emotional for me journal <3
As I mentioned a while ago, I was splitting my usual two weeks in June of debauchery (sleeping & laying in the sun & hiking in the woods outback lol) into one week last month and then saved the last week for the end of August.
I also wanted to explain the significance of this trip! Less about having to justify my time off and more about 'eeee excite omg!' and wanted to share with y'all!
SO a long time ago when I was a wee Charlie, from age 0 up to 21, I was incredibly close to my grandparents on my mom's side. My nana died when I was 15, and while that took a huge toll on me, I was fortunate enough to have my grandpa till 21. These two people were absolutely second parents. My parents did a good enough job raising me, but they had huge fights and my father had anger issues and it caused a lot of wounds. These were the people I could always rely on, when I couldn't rely on my folks.
They lived 2 hours away on a wonderful lake in a lil tiny trailer over looking it. I spent weeks at a time there, even the occasional month. I learned to swim in that lake, which in hindsight prolly wasn't the safest idea due to its depth, and grew up to be obsessed with swimming. Learned how to sail, ski, fish. Learned how to bake, tend a garden, how a fresh bowl of fruit in the morning should be before breakfast.
We'd swim 3x a day, sometimes just to float and cool down before bed, since there was no a/c and the summer nights were hot. Laid on our backs and counted stars like the Lion King. Fried trout on the grill after we'd caught them, had watermelon seed spittin' contests. My grandpa grew pumpkins and carved my name into one, so that the writing grew bigger and bigger over the months. I had one pumpkin live from September to April.
My handprint is on the last cement step leading down to the beach. It was eroded when we scattered my grandpa's ashes in 2014, but I remember where it was, how to place my palm to compare.
I guess I'd say I had a mixed childhood of various great, good, bad, and horrible things. Like most people, yanno? But those golden summer days on the lake were 100% a part of who I am today, and where my many of my happiest memories come from.
Due to me being in college, cost to heat the place in winter when they had no intention of living there, my family sold the property on the lake to an investor who planned to rent it out.
This was 2014. The same year he died, the same year my horse died (within 2 months of each other) and one of my father's many health issues landed him in the hospital from Oct to Dec, so that he spent xmas on an iv stand. With everything going on, we had no time or money for a big dinner, or presents that year.
I guess that was the first year I realized childhood was truly and officially over, and it was time to grow up. Many of us have that marked moment on our life.
Time passed. I finished college, went back home after turning down a few out of state jobs to spend time with my dad, who I had a feeling didn't have much time left. Turned out I was right, as I came home in 2015 and he died in 2022. There was an accident in '16 where he almost bled to death on our kitchen floor, but I was able to provide pressure/medical care and give him some more years.
Shortly after we moved in 17, I was notified that the house on the lake had been rented to someone who unfortunately had a lot of issues mental health wise, and they had eventually abandoned the property. It sat, rotting, and got so covered on the inside in black mold the county leveled the place and destroyed it.
We had left it fully furnished due to the buyer's urging. Ancient, stunning mid century and older furniture from my great-great grandparents time. My nana's organ player. The rocker my mom and I sat in. And, frankly, to quote one of those popular songs, the house that built me was just gone.
I figured that was the end of it, and cried and got angry/sad and then moved on and just tried surviving as covid hit later on in the years.
Turns out, the man who rented it decided that wasn't going to happen again. He put a new trailer on the property, and rented it out for vacationing due to it's location. We didn't know this until I stumbled across it while daydreaming about a vacation on the lake that I missed it was a relative, one I could at least go back to for a few days. My heart skipped so many beats when I saw the address and paused, thinking there had to be come mistake. It wasn't.
Not only can I spend time on that property again (in a new house which honestly might be for the best) But turns out, for whatever reason, they kept the furniture separate and placed a few pieces into the new house. There's a photo of the rocker in the layout photos. The two level lamp they had is still intact and functioning. I booked the place for a week immediately.
It's expensive for me, but my girlfriend and I will make it work. (Certainly not like we have far to travel.) We're going to be there smack dab in the middle of my Grandfather's birthday. I haven't had a true, just-for-me vacation since 2015 when we went to a camping ground. The excitement I have for this is immeasurable.
The dock my Dad and Grandpa put in themselves is fixed up. The crumbled little cement step is still there with a tiny indent, where my 4 yr old hand was pressed. I am going back to this place, and going back in time for just a short while, to heal and have fun and be a whole mess of emotions. I never got to say good bye to my Nana or Grandpa.
But I can say goodbye to them now, and say 'hello again, old friend' to the lake, and the new little house that sits before it.
That is why i am so excited about august. I know I don't share personal things on here a ton, but I wanted to share this. Thank you for reading this far if you have, I appreciate it.
I hope you have a wonderful day and remember how important you are <3 And as always stay hydrated! -Charlie

GWitch Onscreen Text: Episode 17 PART 1: PRE-DUEL
It is time. This is part 18 of my series where I attempt to transcribe and discuss all the text that appears on text and screens in G Witch. We have reached The Big One. Episode 17: "Precious Things."
HOWEVER....
This episode will be handled slightly differently. There is a lot to say about it, and a majority of it does not actually have to do with text.
AND SO. For the sake of keeping things organized, this episode shall be SPLIT INTO PARTS.
This first part covers the PRE-DUEL, primarily going over the parallels and symbolism to scenes in Season 1.
The next part will cover much the same, but during the DUEL itself. It will most likely be much smaller, but it doesn't hurt to keep things separate.
With all that said, the conclusion draws near.
<;< If you aren't ready, you can click here to return to Episode 15. Or, if you'd like, the Masterpost's loving arms can be found here.
But if you are truly ready, then let us begin.
PREFACE
(That's right this shit is STRUCTURED.) Episode 17 is probably one of my favorite episodes of the show (even if it's difficult to sit through) because of how utterly dense it is with its parallels to Season 1. For Miorine, Suletta, and Guel, it feels like nearly every scene is stacked with comparisons to past events, to highlight where the characters are now versus where they were back then.
The bulk of the parallels are contained to events that occurred within the first 6 episodes, which makes sense, as those 6 episodes are when the characters were living their most "normal" school lives. So we'll go through the episode piece by piece and I'll highlight comparisons I've found and what they mean as we go along. I might miss some, or maybe I'm reading too deep for others, but if you're this far in, I'm going to assume you have at least a LITTLE faith in my judgment, even if it's not always super clean.
With all that said, let us begin.
PRE-DUEL
Episode 17 opens with Miorine confronting Prospera (Left). This parallels Episode 2, where Miorine confronts Delling (Right). In both cases, Miorine is confronting an adult regarding Suletta's fate. But unlike in Episode 2, where she's the one making a demand (to allow Suletta to duel for the right to be her fiancée), in Episode 17, a demand is being made of her. (To become President and take over Quiet Zero, and to facilitate a final duel for Suletta.)
Whereas Delling admonished Miorine for daring to speak without power, "I am vested with power. You have none." Prospera is demanding that Miorine accumulate power. "Make me a promise. That you'll become the next president."
The parallel of Miorine making a promise with Prospera in this Episode as opposed to the one she made with Suletta in Episode 3 is obvious, but did you notice that the hallway they're in (top left) is structured almost identically to the room Prospera was waiting in on Plant Quetta in Episode 11 (Bottom left), and where she convinces Suletta it's okay to take other's lives in Episode 12? (Top and Bottom Right)
In the next scene, after the opening, we see Miorine waking up in her room (Left). Season 1 also had a scene of Miorine waking up from sleep in Episode 4 (Right), but it's a lot different.
In Episode 4, Miorine is woken up by Suletta staying up late to study, and asks her why she's working so hard. When Suletta responds that she's doing it for the sake of the Mercurians, Miorine responds that that's "a drag," saying that she shouldn't have to carry that kind of burden and should only live for herself. Suletta responds that it's what she wants to do, and Miorine sardonically responds, "How noble of you," before silently heading back to sleep.
Compare that with this small, silent scene of Miorine slowly dragging herself out of bed, clutching her head because she clearly spent hours yesterday and long into the night trying to figure out how to free Suletta from her mothers clutches AND fulfill all of Prospera's demands. She's running herself ragged all for the sake of someone else, going against her philosophy in Episode 4.
There's also the fact that Suletta isn't with her in 17's scene. We see in Episode 4 that Miorine and Suletta are comfortable sleeping with each other, but she's chosen to sleep alone, with Suletta waiting patiently outside the door. (Oh, and also, did you notice that Miorine's room is clean?)
Following that is a scene where Miorine and Suletta discuss Miorine's Birthday, Suletta's wish list, and their marriage. This is reminiscent of a similar scene in Episode 3 where they discuss much the same thing. Both scenes open up the discussion with Suletta denying a proposition from Miorine:
In Episode 3, Miorine is telling Suletta that she must win the rematch against Guel, to which she shyly mutters that she doesn't want to (Top Right) causing Miorine to react in shock. In Episode 17, Miorine asks Suletta what she would do if she asked her to get rid of Aerial, to which Suletta confidently responds that she wouldn't do it, (Top Left) to this, Miorine silently continues walking up the stairs.
The major difference is that in Episode 3, Miorine continues trying to convince Suletta to agree to the duel, explaining to her why it will be fine, but in Episode 17, she is silent. She doesn't explain or discuss anything. She just moves ahead.
When discussing their marriage, the roles have shifted. In Episode 3, (Bottom Right) Miorine is explaining that they won't actually be married until her birthday comes, in order to calm Suletta's fears about them being actually married.
In Episode 17, (Bottom Left) Suletta brings up Miorine's birthday, specifically because she's decided that she actually wants to marry her. It's now Miorine who is reluctant, due to the burdens she's carrying.
Next is a scene with Shaddiq attempting to enlist the Peil Witches into his bid for President. It's similar to Episode 7's opening scene, where Sarius is enlisting the Peil Witches for his plan to expose Aerial as a Gundam. The Parallel comes from the contrasting intentions of each Zenelli.
Sarius is enlisting the Witches in order to expose Aerial as a Gundam and get it scrapped, re-burying Gundams forever. He is staunchly against the existence of Gundams, and this will never change. Whereas Shaddiq is enlisting the witches with the explicit promise of making Gundams core to the Group's business. They are at opposite ends of the political spectrum in this regard.
But in both cases, Peil agrees, making use of the plan for their own ends. Also, in Shaddiq's meeting, a Jeturk is not present.
Okay time for the first Biggun. This scene starts off with parallels to episode 5, in that Suletta is upset by Elan in both scenes. In 17 (Left), she's accosted by 5lan, demanding that she give him Aerial. In 3 (Right), she's upset by El4n when he calls her annoying.
Unlike in Episode 3 though, where Suletta cries in response to El4n's harsh words, she responds to 5lan by shoving him away, showing how she's grown more confident in herself and her faithfulness to Miorine.
Following this, Guel Jeturk shows up and asks Elan what he's doing to her. In Episode 3 (Right) he showed up mostly for his own pride, but switched to a more protective tone when he saw that El4n had made Suletta cry. But in this scene, (Left) he showed up because he saw she was in trouble.
Guel and Elan's roles are completely reversed here. Whereas before (Right), Guel was flippant and emotional in response to El4n's calm demeanor, the opposite is true for Guel with 5lan. Guel (Left) maintains his composure, and 5lan loses his cool when Guel asks him what he's so afraid of.
It might seem like the Episode 5 parallels end here, but did you notice what kind of weapon 5lan is using in this scene? It's a taser.
An electrical weapon that causes paralysis.
Unlike before, Guel keeps a steady head, and he wins this duel against 5lan, pinning him to the ground. At the end of the battle, Elan isn't holding his hand up in victory (Right) but in defeat (Left).
Guel also says, "Cut it out. If you ruin this place, no apology will get you off the hook." Paralleling his behavior in Episode 1. Instead of being the one destroying the greenhouse, he's the one protecting it this time.
Following this, Suletta and Guel have a 1 on 1 conversation. This is the 3rd time they have one in the series. They have one in Episode 3, (Left) when Suletta tells him her mother's motto. They have a second one in Episode 9 (Middle) where they talk about how Guel's father has forbidden him to duel, and finally they have this one in Episode 17 (Right) where Guel discusses his desire to rebuild the Jeturk company, and protect the things precious to him.
The parallel is obvious in the sense that in both prior discussions, Guel is learning something from Suletta, and now he's finally putting those lessons to use, but did you notice that all 3 conversations have a shot of Guel's hand?
In Episode 3, when Suletta is talking about her mother, Guel holds his hand up to his cheek before closing it into a fist. In Episode 9, he brings his hand from his pocket, but doesn't close it. He holds it out limply. And in Episode 17, he once again brings his hand up and closes it. Each scene is representative of his current conviction.
Episode 3 is titled "Guel's Pride." He brings his hand up to the cheek his father slaps him across before closing it. It represents his current conviction: His pride. Proving himself as worthy in the eyes of his father. Episode 9 is titled "If I Could Take One More Step Towards You." The obvious allusion is to Miorine and Shaddiq's relationship, but it's also about Guel's relationship to Suletta. Their conversation ends with Suletta running down a lighted path, with Guel watching her go. He brings his hand out to his side, but DOESN'T close it, because he no longer has a sense of purpose: He's lost his conviction. He's scared of facing his father, and thus can't follow Suletta. Episode 17 is titled "Precious Things." After everything that's happened, Guel has returned to Asticassia with a new conviction: To protect the things precious to him. After losing his way, he's found the path forward, and once again closes his fist, confident in himself and his sense of purpose.
There's also the parallels between both confessions scenes. When Guel confesses and is rejected the first time (Left), he becomes spiteful and mean, but now (Right), he's understanding, and even happy for her love with Miorine. He's truly changed.
Miorine then comes out from behind the greenhouse, and demands a duel between Suletta and Guel. (Left) This is an obvious inversion of the scene from Episode 1 (Right). Where she demands Suletta NOT duel Guel.
The following scene, where Miorine requests Guel's help (Left) is also an inversion of the scene from Episode 4 (Right) where she offers to help Suletta with the Threat Detection Makeup exam.
Both scenes take place in her room, and both scenes see her kneeling over her plants, gently pushing upon the leaves as she speaks. The fact that she's talking to Guel and Suletta respectively is an obvious inversion, but in Episode 4, she's telling Suletta that she can take care of both the Mechanic and Spotter positions herself, saying she doesn't need help, but in 17's scene, she's specifically ASKING Guel for his help, because this is something she can't do on her own.
The next scene in the Dueling Comittee Lounge (Left) is, obviously, paralleling the similar scene in Episode 3 (Right). Down to this shot of Secelia seemingly being reused from that episode. In both scenes, Secelia taunts Guel, but as opposed to Episode 3, where he becomes enraged and fickle, in Episode 17 he confidently disregards her, saying, "The Jeturk emblem is the lion. So call me a lion, not a dog," much to her surprise.
But there's actually some more interesting parallels here.
Firstly, Episode 3's Oath is officiated by El4n (Top Right), whereas Episode 17's Oath is officiated by Rouji's HARO (Top Left), two characters that are considered to be robotic and emotionless.
In both duels, Suletta requests something of Guel for the sake of others. In Episode 3, she asks him to apologize to Miorine (Bottom Right), and in Episode 17, she asks him to help stop the harassment of Earth House (Bottom Left).
Ah, and did you notice? Episode 3's duel takes place in the 7th tactical testing sector, a lucky number. Episode 17's duel takes place in the 13th tactical testing sector. It looks like Suletta's luck has run out.
In both episodes, there's a scene following the oath with Guel speaking to Miorine and Suletta respectively. Both scenes even share multiple shots. Both scenes are also conversations involving, to some extent, Prospera. And both scenes, interestingly enough, has Guel end the conversation with a statement that calls into question the respective girl's belief (intentionally or otherwise).
In Episode 3 (Right) Suletta says, "My mother is always strong and kind," to which Guel asks, "A good parent, huh?" In Episode 17 (Left) Miorine says, "I want that girl to be happy. She needs a world where she can be free from Gundams or anything else," to which Guel mutters, "There are no worlds like that."
In both cases, he doesn't elaborate on what he means, but in both cases, his intuition is right.
Perhaps some of this is a pushing it, but prior to the duel, both Episode 3 and 17 share two similar scenes. Both episodes have a scene in which Miorine has installed something on Suletta's phone in reference to the duel, and both scenes also have a scene where two characters discuss their intent to interfere with the upcoming duel.
In Episode 3 (Right) This entails Miorine installing her contact info onto Suletta's phone without her permission, and Vim and Lauda discussing the arrangement of the sprinklers to go off.
In Episode 17 (Left) This entails Miorine installing the "Victory Charm" on Suletta's phone, and Miorine and Prospera discussing when to deactivate Aerial during the duel. It's yet another inversion in that now, it's Jeturk house who's playing fairly, and it's Miorine who's working to ensure Suletta will lose.
When Guel is asked by Kamil about the decision making AI, in Episode 17 (Left) he says he doesn't care about it, and to leave it in. Stating that "Pride alone won't defeat Suletta Mercury." This parallels the scene from Episode 3 (Right), where he gets incredibly mad about it, yelling, "Am I not skilled enough to win?!" Only to be slapped by Vim once more, telling him that "There's no room here for childish pride."
Guel also cuts his hair. The Jeturk family's hair are all based on lion manes, and Guel cutting his mane short is emblematic of discarding his prideful nature. It's also to show how he's brought himself closer to his father, who's hair was also cut short.
The following scene, where Guel apologizes to Lauda in front of the Darilbalde (Left), parallels the scene in Episode 4 where Lauda apologized to him under similar circumstances (Right).
In Episode 4, the Darilbalde was destroyed, emblematic of the strained relationship between the two, but now it has been repaired. Even still, will it be maintained?
As the MS suit containers roll into position, we get this shot of the Dueling Committee, both in Episode 17 (Right) and Episode 3 (Left) It's much emptier now, huh? GRAAAAAGH And that's all the parallels I can find for the Pre-Duel segment of the episode. Houuaauhhh there was a lot here and it was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun, and it really goes to show how tight this season's script is. Every scene feels intentional.
Anyhow, that's all for this part. Next time in part 2, we'll be discussing the Duel's parallels. If you've made it this far, thank you so very much, I truly appreciate it. I'll see you next time!

In relation to the recent Tav Banter/Dialogue ask game : I'd love for 4, 17 or 38! :)
From the Tav Banter and Dialogue! All answered for Vanquish
4. Hiding/sneaking/hidden movement
"This reminds me of a dance I learned." "How low can we go (giggle)." "Watch the tail." "I'll be your eyes, ears, and blade."
17. Looking in a mirror
"Sometimes I wonder who looks back." "That scar's new." "(wince) Anyone got a hairbrush?" "Did my burns always glow?"
38. If a player character asks them to consider consuming tadpoles or using the Astral tadpoles, how would your Tav/Durge respond?
(if romancing Kith'rak Voss) Vanquish: "Pass. No room at the inn." (taps the side of her head) "Plus. Think Voss would want to touch me looking half-illithid?"
Option 1: PC: (persuasion hard check) "He still needs us. And he said he'd do anything for that hammer and Orpheus, right?" Fail: Vanquish: "I'd rather be something than anything." (idly touches one of the bruises he left behind on her) Pass: Vanquish: "The best I can give you is 'I'll think about it'." (the gem fused to her wrist glows) "Caiphon likes the idea, though."
Option 2: PC: "Who else is up there?" Vanquish: "Private audience only, sorry." PC: "You've mentioned Caiphon before, that's one. The tadpole. Who else, Voss?" (Wisdom hard check: connect to Vanquish's mind) Fail: Vanquish: (smirks) "Think I can't feel you up there?" (Vanquish pushes you out of her head, like claws to your mind as she rips you out, putting you back where you belong. You feel the looming, uncomfortable sensation of being watched. Above. Behind. Beyond.) Vanquish: "The answer's no."
Pass: (You see the fleeting image of Kith'rak Voss looking down at Vanquish, a strange serenity as she looks up. Flash of void fire- and Vanquish pushes you out, violent. Anger. You struggle to catch your breath as the feeling of being watched, judged, hangs above you, within you. Beyond.) Vanquish: "I was considering it as an advantage to help Voss, not you, but the answer's no. (sly smile) Try not to choke on your next tadpole."
-----
(if not romancing Kith'rak Voss) Vanquish: "I've ate a lot of strange shit in my time and stuffed my head so full of passengers I should start charging."
Option 1: PC: "Who else is up there?" Vanquish: "Private audience only, sorry." PC: "You've mentioned Caiphon before, that's one. The tadpole. Who else?" (Wisdom hard check: connect to Vanquish's mind) Fail: Vanquish: (smirks) "Think I can't feel you up there?" (Vanquish pushes you out of her head, like claws to your mind as she rips you out, putting you back where you belong. You feel the looming, uncomfortable sensation of being watched. Above. Behind. Beyond.) Vanquish: "I'll sleep on it. No promises, though."
Pass: (You see the fleeting image of a set of dark purple eyes set deep against onyx skin, crowned in a similar facial tattoo as Vanquish. Flash of void fire- and Vanquish pushes you out, violent. Anger. You struggle to catch your breath as the feeling of being watched, judged, hangs above you, within you. Beyond.) Vanquish: "I was considering it, but the answers no. (sly smile) Try not to choke on your next tadpole."
Option 2: PC: "So...is that a yes?" Vanquish: (The strange gem fused to her wrist glows and she seems to talk to it, in a language you cannot understand. The words feel cold, inquisitive.) "Caiphon wants me to." (She pauses, staring at the effect of the tadpole on your face.) "Does your body still feel your own?" PC: "I am still me inside. (pause) Mostly, I think. Outside? Small price to pay for its power." Vanquish: "When you have a choice." PC: "You do now." (Persuasion check) (Vanquish stares at the tadpole squirming in the jar/at the Astral Tadpole hovering above your hand, drawn to the power of her Patron under her skin, written over it). Vanquish: "Give it here-" (She snatches the tadpole from your hand, its power begging to connect to her tadpole inside, and Caiphon, endless Planes away.) "How much worse can it get." (gestures at her burns)

Jonah Disobeys God and Flees
1 So the word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: 2 âGet up. Go to Nineveh, the great city, and preach against it, for its peopleâs evil way has come up before me.â
3 But Jonah set out to flee to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. He paid the fare and boarded the ship to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.
4 But the Lord hurled a great wind onto the sea, and there was such a great storm on the sea that the ship was about to break apart. 5 The sailors were afraid, and each one cried out to his gods. They threw the shipâs cargo into the sea to lighten the shipâs load.
Jonah had gone down into the hold of the ship. He was lying down and sleeping soundly. 6 The captain approached him and said, âHow can you be sleeping so soundly? Get up and call on your god! Maybe your god will treat us with favor so that we will not perish.â
7 Then the sailors said to each other, âCome on, letâs cast lots so that we can find out whose fault it is that this disaster has come to us.â So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.
8 So they said to him, âPlease tell us whose fault it is that this disaster has come to us! What is your occupation? Where do you come from? What is your country? What people are you from?â
9 He answered, âI am a Hebrew, and I fear the Lord, the God of Heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.â
10 Then the men were terrified and said to him, âWhat have you done?â The men already knew that he was fleeing from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them so.
11 Then, because the storm on the sea kept getting worse, they said to him, âWhat should we do to you, to quiet the sea that is raging against us?â
12 He said to them, âPick me up and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will calm down for you, for I know that this violent storm striking against you has come about because of me.â
13 Instead, the men rowed hard to return the ship to dry land, but they could not, because the storm on the sea kept getting worse for them. 14 So they cried out to the Lord and said, âPlease, Lord, please do not let us perish because of this manâs life, and do not charge innocent blood against us, for you, Lord, have done as you pleased.â 15 So they picked Jonah up and threw him into the sea, and the sea stopped its raging. 16 Then the men feared the Lord greatly, and they offered a sacrifice to the Lord and made vows.
17 Then the Lord provided a large fish to swallow Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. â Jonah 1 | Evangelical Heritage Version (EHV) The Holy Bible, Evangelical Heritage VersionÂź, EHVÂź, © 2019 Wartburg Project, Inc.                15
This is a common notion, the lights!
To nothing lutes an unwonted calm,
and bent to serve and behold! And white.
               16
Young man of Ganges, leaning? That over-

within its blood, like the live or dead.
               17
Of huge sea- countryâs a thirst touch to

               21
He sprang from this through billows obeying

               22
Doth live, as weariest for years: which leaves

               23
Dive in a weeping sea, afloat. And

               24
And descence is ample from Heaven

Ye satyrs stark, whose beauty of all.
So timid nature day may be dead.
Be thy light down, he must pine its name.
               26
And must her sleep in us, to marry

gate, that fly by shepherd realm I take.
               27
Pardon me, alas, doe interwove;
as if he calmed vassalage, look and

               28
In brief, or let me sleepless ocean-

               29
Marry yet; Iâm oâer they all men%u2019s

               31
Nor the cold must be thy story, and

Not flower, was Scylla! I pluck the

               33
Quench thy guilt should be from time I tied

               34
With diamond gleam slants over in the

of misery I was afraid.
               35
Damp awe assailâd me; by my truth of
every green worth while his story will

               36
They see how should lead his hands upon

grieving at an iron tyranny.

All lovers, are on men, and with odours.

               42
Was but this scrolls, where a rope. Such stuffe

               43
âCold wind-flower. Word but soothing issues

               44
Careful and compassion so; had, having

You should not cruel, not be this secret

               48
Its first, first time, O princely Heart! And

               49
Is not me? The Sexesâ interlace.
Star, entities: myself should decree!
Alas, I must one by beingâs face.
               50

As we do. This secrets still round there

               53
Herself upon its cold gave utter

               54
And in awe. We whisperâd, bending, and

               55
What I shall adorn my tortured my

               56
âAs her nightingale shall we away!
And fare this, fainting in and mine eyes.
Of night on posterity arise!
               57
She euen in act of senses they have

               58
Sweet, with her and fold him food; no cripple

               59
And there was never. Love thee not something

               60
Why dost blest sphere: make more tongues: full oft,

               61
Upon a bought and fill my arm. To

               62
The heat or cardamom rubbed on looke,

               63
Let thy dewy morning ran, and I

               64
Or there all the fire and deeper silver

Too soon she heretic, which in May.
               65
From rose-wet caveâwhatever yetâah

               66
Bear with the shadow of the evening
earthâs affection!â âTis Dian, for both
of your lutes a placid miscreant!
               67
Beckoned as easily impress it,
the youth, and shall tell. And the forest

               68
Shall he the sphere and sinless policy
in lowliness is wand like a
spirit is mute in her eâe? All run.
               69
Shall I fashionable quit this young Bacchus
at once against thou hast smilâd? Have
bared the shining the remove: o no!
               70
It is sad echo in the daffodils.
Few, who look cross that I waded
in its poisonous about, and died.
               71
Exclaiming music and so the elves
also, whose porch, each lucid fingers
were alone. Would slip into your bier?
               72
Were he alighted every sweetest
out. Along goodbye like the song but
with all these for it. And friend the stars.
               73
Sometimes arose along to decaying;
come, and so many, the serpent!
From me against your bowers of that!
               74
Joy was I, that high company: I
gazed-but lo! Aloft, young maid abide
with the zits that fix you, so digress?
               75
And thousand yet not meat corrupting.
Keep back and all, and through me then to
me, and green an unbidden from hands.
               76
Joy of my mouth sips: Ay, in the aisled
plaint. And the tie I see, and a
crust, enjoyâd no lute, I pity thee.
               77
In where the very part in a cold
climb, so naked forehead morning, o
heart nectarous dew. Why delaying.
               78
Her mair moving, o hear no song for
your breath, from these streets and ask me, and
gained. Passing snatch thee time yet our breast.
               79
On spleen. To fly all the pools where each
House and light. That overcast! Than when
your Foliage and movâd, everywhere.
               80
And as she fled; now, we know the very
wandering perfume. Come, so it
pleasant fields, and a cruel, cruel madness!
               81
These agree. A fair limbs on me dead,
they were far outspread out my Corinna,
come to fetch in her arms pale death.
               82
Empty of air, he sank supine beside!
I didnât measure up. With a look
cross the novel grace; while I in earth.
               83
No less for long black dull- gurgling
hastily. Die through the dark valleys. If
one, and flip- flops. Sometimes too much more.
               84
There is this? Scott, Rogers, Campbell, Moore,
ere men beaks and nymph arose: he feigneth,
looking forth to see, many heart!
               85
And thee of thy cruel. He crimson winged
Chieftain! What is there curls of coral,
pebbles of my bewailest the while.
               86
âAh, Zephyrus! Laureate, and take
up thine, but gie me my lips on you:
besides, and smiling spake a high dead!
               87
Venus but one resides, for they
interwove through the marriage song where thine
heart. I clasp your fates woke dream; and look?
               88
Come wise, and also a private place;
and trembled; she lay! A cypress, to
taste the pain? Because I love, adieu.
               89
Not it, and sweet soul. Let not rise thy
leaden awe these braue gleam. I felt so
contemplate between which husbandâs head.

1. I wish i could have a normal love... but no, my brain wants to worship every little detail of you until it drives me insane
2. sorry i pushed you away i felt abandoned and suicidalÂ
3. Iâm sick of going to bed and knowing things wonât be better tomorrowÂ
4. I'll ask you thousands times if you really love, please don't get annoyed
5. I'll create "drama" and mishaps only to feel like I'm in home
6. iâm afraid that one day my anger will overshadow the little love i still have left for the world
7. I feel numb. No tears, no anger, nothing. Just going through the same day again and again. I would rather just sleep without waking up.
8. I'm so tired of everytime one small argument or inconvenience breaks out I want to end it and self destruct, it's so draining.Â
9. I want to stop feeling anything and when i actually don't it breaks my heart but I can't cry it out.
10. "its all in your head" well duh where tf else is it gonna be??? in my fucking kidneys????
11. I am constantly between wanting people to care about me and wanting them not to so I can hurt myself without feeling guiltyÂ
12. Psychiatrist told me there is no cure for bpd and I've to change myself. Well why cant they just let me die then?
13. Until you live with bpd you'll never know what it's like to be too much and not enough at the same time.
14. i know im constantly too much for everyone but sometimes i just want to be enough for someone
15. if he will leave me, my next diagnosis will be of "sociopath"

22. I have to watch my mouth every fucking second to make sure I don't destroy every relation I have coz apparently social life matters!!
23. Isnt it fucked up how he got away with every horrible thing he made me experience and Iâm the one who has to live with myself feeling absolutely fucking worthlessÂ
24. I don't deserve food and love. im a horrible person.

30. I don't dive into insecurity anymore, i drown in self-loathe
31. i shut up in between group convo coz I know I'll talk invaluable shit and nobody really cares what I say until it's psychology class
32. "if you are fully aware of yourself, why do you keep acting like that?" slapping self awareness on top of bpd only grants the ability to watch yourself self-destruct straight from the vip section thats all it does literally
33. âWhere do you see yourself in the futureâ building a cult for mentally ill peopleÂ
34. ofc I've a praise kind i was ignored as a child

36. No I don't want to self harm anymore I need to kill that fucking monster
37. Don't mind me, I'm just casually sabotaging all my positive relationships with negative delusions because my life doesn't feel real unless something dramatic and destructive is constantly occurringÂ

39. âStop making your disorder your personalityâ I have a fucking personality disorder for god sake
40. turning my mental illnesses into kinks and calling it the BDSM-5Â
41. "destroy something precious while you're in rage" ohh yeaa and then I'll do that again and againÂ
42. what I hate most about my BPD is the fact that I have started doubting every emotion that Iâve ever felt in my life, whether itâs love, my grief through multiple traumas, or my anger, & itâs so saddening. It has actually led me to start questioning my reality.
43. if I need medication to stay alive, am I really meant to be here?
44. it's either be alone without 75% of my symptoms, or be with someone and display the most horrendous unstable awful version of myself. why do i have to choose between love & happiness or peace & stability?
45. That fucking bpd rage where everyone's voices makes you want to scream and every noise around you makes you want to sh and you're so mad you can almost feel the cuts everywhereÂ
46. getting worked up to the point of becoming physically ill (throwing up/stomach issues etc) because you felt rejected/abandoned by your favourite person Â
47. i wish my trauma made me kind as everyone says but iâm becoming what i fear the most- a monster.
48. imagine getting diagnosed with a personality disorder and the only visible representation of that disorder is an animated horse man, a sociopathic sitcom character from philadelphia, and darth vader

Day One: Genesis 1-3
4/22/24
I was gonna read through chapter 4 but this post was getting pretty long already so I decided to stop here. I did say I was prone to rambling...
Definitely not going to go this in-depth every single time đ
my 12th grade Sacred Scripture class just happened to spend a lot of time on the Creation narrative so I have a lot of previous knowledge I want to share.
Genesis 1
Looking through my 12th grade theology notes on the creation narrative, I have a table there that looks like this:
Realm | Ruler Time | Sun, moon, stars Space | Birds Life | Land animals Sabbath | Man
I wish I had taken more in-depth notes. I feel like there should be much more to say on this but I can't elaborate. I think I understand what that means but not enough to explain it. Although, thinking of the sun, moon and stars as being created to "rule" light makes the idea of light being created before the sun make a little more sense to me.
"God said, 'let the earth produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and fruit trees, each bearing fruit of its own kind within it." Gen 1:11
Okay, maybe slightly off-topic, but I've always wondered if there were any foods that Jesus didn't like. Because I mean, he's God, so he created them, but he's also human, so I would assume that maybe that means he had the human experience of having certain foods he didn't care for. Did he ever eat a vegetable as a kid and then go "why did I make this"?
"God said, 'let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves, and let them be masters of the fish of the sea, the birds of heaven, the cattle, all the wild animals and all the creatures that creep along the earth.' Gen 1:26
Let US make man in OUR own image, in the likeness of OURSELVES. I never noticed that before. I thought it might just be this translation but I went and checked RSV and NAB and they both say that as well. Is God referring to himself as the trinity? All the way back in Genesis chapter 1? Or...am I just...thinking too hard about it?
This is one of the scenarios where I wish I could understand Hebrew because I want to go and read this passage in the original Hebrew. I'm marking this verse to come back to later.
Also, my favorite explanation of the Trinity and the one that makes the most sense to me is this: if human beings are made of a body, soul, and a will, and they are made in God's image, then God is also made of a body, soul, and a willâwith Jesus as the body, the Father as the soul, and the Holy Spirit as the will.
Genesis 2
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you are not to eat; for the day you eat of that you shall die." Gen 2:17
From the footnotes: Eating from this tree means usurping the divine privilege of deciding what is good and what is evil; the temptation is to proud independence, questioning God's judgement of good and evil.
This is indeed the way the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was explained to me in 12th grade, which I am thankful for because it used to be so confusing to me when I was younger. I thought it meant that eating from the tree would grant the ability to tell the difference between good and evil, and I could never understand how that would be a bad thing.
It also makes perfect sense because it seems the root of practically all problems in society is that everyone has their own ideas about what constitutes moral goodness. Even as a bad Catholic who struggles to wrap her head around her own faith I cringe every time I hear the "you have your truth, I have mine" line.
"The LORD God said, 'It is not good that the man should be alone. I shall make him a helper as a partner.'" Gen 2:18
My mom quotes this verse whenever my dad does something dumb.
"Then the LORD God made the man fall into a deep sleep. And while he was asleep, he took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in its place. The LORD God built the rib he had taken from the man into a woman, and brought her to the man." Gen 2:21-22
According to my theology teacher, the ancient Hebrews believed the soul was contained in the chest/lungs and that the rib protected the soul; so Even being formed from a rib means women are built to be protectors of the soul..? Or...something like that. Again, I wish I'd taken more thorough notes.
There was also this thing I heard from somewhere else about how calling women inferior to men because Eve was created from a piece of Adam is dumb, because the pattern of creation is that each new thing God created was better than the last, and Eve was the last thing he created. But that sounds like a point a radical feminist would make so I'm sure that wasn't the whole explanation haha because I'm fairly certain the speaker was a conservative Catholic man.
Genesis 3
"Now, the snake was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the LORD God had made. It asked the woman, 'Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?'" Gen 3:1
I have always wondered why the devil is portrayed this way and that's still something I don't quite understand.
From the footnotes: In Hebr., 'snake' and 'dragon' are the same word; the dragon will lose its proud stance and become wormlike.
If we're imagining the serpent in the garden as not a tiny talking snake, but a giant monstrous serpent, it's sort of weird that Adam just...lets it chat with his wife. Because he was standing right thereâ
"She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it." Gen 3:6
Another thing my theology teacher said: "Every covenant failure begins with a man failing to stand up for his bride."
"Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realized they were naked. So they sewed fig leaves together to make themselves loincloths." Gen 3:7
I have a few things to say about this verse. The first is just that I've heard the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is believed to be a fig tree, both because it mentions Adam and Eve sew together fig leaves here and also because of that one passage in the New Testament where Jesus curses a fig tree.
Also, I noticed that the very first thing that happened after committing original sin was that Adam and Eve felt shame and immediately began to hide themselves from God.
I think there has to be some significance to their being ashamed of their naked bodies, something that relates to how throughout history human sexuality has been perverted, but it's not something I can put into words right now.
"He said, 'Who told you that you were naked? Have you been eating from the tree from which I forbade you to eat?' The man replied, 'The woman you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree, and I ate it.'" Gen 3:11
This was something else I heard: obviously God already knew that they ate from the tree; what he is doing here is giving them the chance to confess. Like, as in the sacrament of reconciliation, I think.
Also, Adam immediately pointing fingers at his wife like a kid trying to get out of a punishment. Very classy of him. Eve also tries to blame the serpent but I feel like it's a little worse that Adam tries to blame her, since they are supposed to be partners who love and protect each other.
"'I shall put enmity / between you and the woman, / and between your offspring and hers; / he will bruise your head / and you will strike his heel.'" Gen 3:15
First of all, does anyone know why verses 14-19 are written in this format that's reminiscent of books like Psalms and Isaiah?
Secondlyâalthough, this is probably common knowledge so I probably don't need to say this hereâ
The woman's offspring = Jesus
He will bruise your head = Jesus will triumph over sin
You will strike his heel = At the same time, he will suffer and die
Okay! So, that was Genesis chapters 1 through 3. This turned out a lot longer than I thought it would be. Again, please do not expect this level of detail from me through this whole series. đ
The thing is, I find this stuff fascinating and I can talk about it like this but when it comes to actually believing it I have such a hard time wrapping my head around it. Even with everything I learned in that class there's still so much I don't understand.
I suppose there will always be things I don't understand, because there are things that we don't even have definite answers to. And those are the gaps that faith is supposed to fill.
Here's one of the stupid questions I have that I mentioned in my first post: does reciting prayers make a difference?
Right now I especially struggle with prayer and reciting prayers such as the Our Father is the only way I feel I'm capable of praying right now. But it doesn't feel like anything. It just feels like me saying words, even if I try to reflect on what they mean. Should I still say them anyway? What value does it have if I don't feel like I'm actually connecting with God?
Thank you to anyone who actually took the time to read this whole thing (if anyone did, that is...) and especially thank you to the support I have already received. I feel welcomed :)

Christmas Reruns 2023 Day 12: Eli the Elf
Merry Christmas if you celebrate it and happy holidays if you donât! One of the things I love about Christmas is watching reruns of all the old classic Christmas moviesâChristmas is a big time for nostalgia. A few years ago, I decided to incorporate that tradition into my fandom life and post my CS holiday reruns. So here you go! Enough holiday (mostly) fluff to get you to New Yearâs Day. (With a new story posting on Christmas Day.)

Your father told when he came home from the last brot3 convention. Oh Emma!

I literally just sent you one but what if. You did more. For me? :3333
9, 10, 11, 12, 18, 20, 21, 22, 24 VIOLENCE (please do not look at how I spelled it in the last one) ask game <333
3, 4, 13, 17 (This time with Octavia), 18 (Striker), 22 (Husk), 24 (This time with Fizz), 25 (This time with Charlie) for the other fandom ask game :333
JKLDHFJKLSDFHJKL NO ITS OK I LOVE GIVING YOU MY THINKIES!!!!!!!!!! :DDDDD lets do this!!!!!!!! >:333333
violence ask game og post here!
9. worst part of canon for hh, its the valangel plotline. god its so bad. you cant have a silly joke character also be a horrific abuser, you have to pick one. also dont hire rape fetish artists to handle a very real?? issue?? hello??? for hb,,,,,i gotta pick the same vein and give it to stolitz. I KNOW I KNOW i bitched a lot about them in the last answer post but JKLSDFJKLHJKf IT MAKES ME SO MAD. especially bc (much like hazbin) the original plot of the story is SO FUCKING GOOD. a group of low-ranking hell creatures run an illegal business where the access the human realm??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME. THATS SO GOOD. i love that its a direct parallel to hazbin's "solving the overpopulation" main plot JKLSHDFJKLDS ITS SO FUNNY AND SO PERFECT AND WE WERE ROBBED IN BOTH SHOWS FOR VIVZIES STUPID FUCKING FETISH BAIT
10. worst part of fanon the vivzie dickriders are so goddamn annoying. ive noticed that this is kind of a trend in any media that has a large "critic" audience. like it also totally happened with miraculous ladybug. but for some reason when a bunch of people hate on the show bc it sucks, mostly bc the creator also sucks, it spawns a parallel group of people who will defend anything and everything about it. like there are people who devote entire blogs and accounts to ""disproving"" vivzie allegations (which no one has ever done successsfully btw bc she did all of the shit shes being accused of). and theres people who will defend every shitty plotpoint and piece of bad writing and leave no room for nuance. like, yes, im critical of the shows, but i can admit theres good in them. obviously i enjoy them enough to have a sideblog for them. but like. these people dont understand that its GOOD to critisize media, ESPECIALLY media that you like. its important to acknowledge when certain trends can be seen in the work, because otherwise youre going to be more susceptible to being negatively influenced. like, vivzie has history of antiblackness/racism/antisemitism. is it a coincidence that these people are horribly misrepresented in the show?
11. number of fandom-related words you've filtered only 2 related to the hellaverse actually!! but ive had to put a whole bunch of different variants/spellings. i have radioapple and adamsapple blocked just cause theyre the most prevalent ships that i dont like.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them MIMZY. i fucking love her SO MUCH!!!!!! :DDDDDDDD part of why i despise radioapple and its shippers so much is bc so much of the fandom hates her for ""interrupting their moment"". SHUT THE FUCK UP shes the best part of their song and also the best girl and shes so pretty and cute and youre all WRONG for hating her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! light of my life <333333333 spinoff show about just mimzy immediately
18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on... rosie x mimzy :(((((((( they dont even have a proper, fully agreed upon shipname. i thought you all loved old women yuri :/// also POLYVEES????? i am SOOOOO sick of the ""vel and her gay dads"" shit. it is so goddamn annoying. VOX CALLS HER "MY DEAR". VAL CALLS HER "BABYDOLL." theyre all fucking.
20. part of canon you found tedious or boring honestly? all of hazbin. the heaven arc was just SO rushed and still felt like the same thing was happening every episode. helluva never/hasnt become tedious to me just bc its so much more episodic i think
21. part of canon you think is overhyped the fuckin. shipping. stolitz in helluva is SOOOOOO hyped and for NOTHING and the whole war was hyped in hazbin and yet was also so incredibly nothing. OH AND PENTIOUS' REDEMPTION??? everyones acting like its the most interesting plot twist ever as if it doesnt suck objectively
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores loona and via ://// the only time i see them talked about is when people are shipping them which is gross. i really really really want to see more of them and have them be developed more and given personalities outside their shitty fathers.
24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse VALANGEL. OH MY GODDDDDDDDD i fucking HATE hearing ""hot takes"" about that arc. THEYRE NEVER HOT TAKES. EVER. theyre just excusing vals actions or excusing VIVS actions in making it. I HATE IT SO MUCH
fandom ask game og post here!
3. NoTP? OOH. i have a bunch. ummm. literally any striker ship that isnt blitzker. striker x chaz, striker x moxxie, striker x millie, striker x sallie, striker x stella, etc etc i could literally list them all day. i hate all of them. every single one cannot work without mischaracterizing him to hell. he works with blitz because theyre equals and they LIKE EACH OTHER. OH DUH radioapple!!!! literally biggest NOTP ever i fucking hate them. i hate adamsapple, and cherrisnake, anddddd.......there are obviously more but im blanking. some i dislike for more innocent reasons. like any ship with tex and/or any ship with sallie? i hate all of them just because those characters are so. Nothing. they have 0 substance apart from being sexualized
4. Is there a popular pairing you don't necessarily dislike but aren't too invested in? OH well i guess i kinda answered this above hsdjkf. i guess my hottest take is fallenstar (chaggie) and m&m. i simply do not give a shit about them. i care a LITTLE more for vega n charlie, but like. pretty much JUST because theyre sapphic. what does m&m have going for them, they are literally textbook boring married couple. who give a shit
13. What's a character or ship you haven't written/drawn yet but would like to some day? sjkdfhjksdf ive doodled them beforrreeeee but ive gotta draw more verbie <////3 im thinkin about making a finished piece for them they are CUTE.......otherwise i think ive drawn/written about like everyone i care for sjkdfhjsdkf
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [Octavia] would like? AWW this is cute....ummmm!!!!! a piece of lore i just made up for her is that i think shes rlly interested in human culture. like she likes movies from earth, and literature from up there, so on and so forth <3333 shes really into horror movies but specifically the old and bad ones <3333 she will rattle off 100000 facts to you about how they made that fake blood for that scene or "did you know they used a REAL chainsaw?". i think she has an affinity for the macabre BUT i also think she has a bit of a soft spot. she was kind of robbed of a proper childhood a little bit (as were most goetians) so shes a sucker for sappy soft stuff too. she casually watches mlp or care bears and plays lots of minecraft and terraria <3
18. Type [Striker's]'s name and tell us what the autocomplete suggests as the next word shjkdfhjksdfhjkfsd ok so i wasnt sure whether this meant using google autocomplete or phone autocomplete. i tried google first and my only result was 'striker helluva boss' cause thats what i google for art ref. but then i tried it on my phone and. uh........................................................................this is so embarassing. i pulled out my phone and pressed the middle autocomplete button a few times and it landed on 'striker tying up blitzos arms'...........LISTEN. IT WAS BECAUSE I WAS WRITING DOWN THIS ART IDEA AND IT REMEMBERED. WHY DID IT REMEMBER
22. Give us a headcanon for [Husk] UMMMM!!!!!!! it is so muc harder to come up with these for characters i dont relate to as much..........i am so sorry but i have literally thought for so long and cant come up with anything that you havent already said <////////////////////333
24. What's your favourite thing about [Fizz]? i remember really not thinking anything of it at the time but i LOVE the transition of how he is in public/at ozzies to how he is at home!!!! its really interesting to see him soften up and i think theres a lot to be said about the persona he puts on in public that i just KNOW the show isnt gonna explore. i dont think hes the. best anxiety rep, but i do think there are moments where its compelling. OH and i LOVE watching his energy bounce off blitz, its super fun :3
25. What's your least favourite thing [Charlie] said or did? grgghgg ohh girl,,,,,you had so much wasted potential ://// this is a lot more nitpicky than my answer for stolas but its easily that one moment in ep 4. where she WHINES and CRIES like a BABY over angel and vega carries her away. the infantilization is SOOOO irritating, esp bc literally in the NEXT EPISODES they try to portray her as a strong and confident good leader???? its so pathetic and SO frustrating especially when she could easily make it up to angel by KILLING HIS RAPIST.
WAHHHJSKDFHJKLD THANKS FOR ASKINGGGGG i love getting out all my thinkies :33333

Around 2000 Words. 18+ in places (those chapters will be marked as âMature / sexual contentâ just to be safe). Please inform me if you wish to be tagged or untagged from posts. If the text is in italics and orange itâs Kirbyâs inner monologue. If the text is coloured but not in italics, itâs either dialogue or a P.O.V change (P.O.V changes will be in bold and translated dialogue will appear in square [ ] brackets), Key below. Quick note on Geiaâs text colour: Yes I do know that as Greed she should be in yellow but I decided to colour the menâs dialogue yellow so Geia was changed to be pink like the other women in the story outside of the main 8.
The Main 8: Damo - Bio. Vi - Bio. Billie - Bio. Geia - Bio. Kirby - Bio. Honey - Bio. Eli - Bio. Sara - Bio.
Kirby's P.O.V:
Kirby's uncle Bran spends the night sleeping on the couch, waking up at 10 am, on Saturday the 3rd of September, to the smell of Kirby cooking breakfast.
âGood lord kid, ya oul dear taught ya well.â He yawns, scratching his stubble as he gets up, joining Kirby in the kitchen.
âYou still take ya coffee with milk and two sugars, Uncail [Uncle]?â She smiles softly at him, looking up from the pan of bacon and eggs.
âIndeed I do, have ya been cryinâ banphrionsa [princess]?â
âDhĂșisigh mĂ© Ăł nightmare, TĂĄ Eddie fĂłs ina chodladh agus nĂ raibh mĂ© ag iarraidh Ă© a dhĂșiseacht. Mar sin, tĂĄ [I woke up from a nightmare, Eddie is still asleep and I didn't want to wake him. So, yes].â Kirby nods, her uncle pulls her into a gentle hug, stroking her hair.
âYa AintĂn [Aunt] will be here soon, as will ya col ceathracha [cousins]. Ceart go leor [okay]?â
âAye [yes].â She whispers, leaving her uncle to finish making breakfast, when she gets a text from her cousin Branwen, Branâs only daughter.
Kirby goes to the front door, seeing the taxi pull up with her Aunt Meinir and her cousins Mostyn, Darach and Branwen stepping out.
âDonât panic,â Darach jokes, âWe havenât brought the kids to tire out AintĂn fathach [Giant aunt].â
Darach, forever the jokester, married to a lovely German lass.
âNor have we brought the wives, or Branwenâs hubbie.â Mostyn adds.
Mostyn, Moss, the brawn of the trio. His wifeâs a beautiful Native Canadian lady.
âIâll help you witâ the twins, banphrionsa dragon [dragon princess].â Branwen smiles softly.
Branwen, the brains, now a McCormick, her husband a half-French half-Irish gent with a mean right hook.
âGet yer butts in there before the house gets cold.â Meinir, Branâs Wife, scolds her three kids, hugging Kirby gently when she enters the house.
If ever a tornado was named something Welsh, it would be named after her. As her name would suggest via its meaning, sheâs tall, slender and beautiful, even at 69.
âBefore you ask, this place is rented, and the twins are asleep in the nursery, donât wake my sons nor my husband. Edâs a grump in the mornings, and I donât need the New Yorker being a grump, right now.â Kirby explains, leading the tiny percentage of her family to the kitchen first.
She takes over making breakfast from her Uncle Bran, quickly serving the group up a hearty breakfast, bacon, eggs, toast, beans, all the things her and her family are used to. She even remembers how the group takes their coffee and tea. Bran, coffee, two sugars and a dash of milk. Meinir, tea, black as she cannot have milk. Moss, coffee, one sugar, no milk, strong and sweet. Darach, tea, milky and with two sugars. Branwen, water, not a fan of tea or coffee.
âHoly fuck!â Eddie yelps, nearly falling on his ass when he sees Kirbyâs cousins.
âOh, we should have sat down, Moss.â Darach murmurs as he sips his tea.
âYa think? I know Iâm tall, but you two are tall and broad.â Kirby shakes her head, kissing Eddieâs forehead.
Moss, 6â5â, and Darach, 6â3â, look down at the floor in shame. Their 5â4â sister chuckles as she looks at them.
âAnd these guys are?â Eddie asks, using Kirby as a shield, having not gotten dressed yet and still in just his rosaries, boxers and a tank-top.
âOoh, Dara, Kirby married a real New Yorker, maybe a Catholic too?â Moss whispers.
âEddie, you met my Uncle Bran last night, this is his wife, Meinir, and his kids, my cousins, Mostyn, Darach and Branwen. Consider yourself lucky that they didnât bring their spouses, or kids, this place would be nearly full.â
âHow many kids do you have?â Eddie asks them, a look of total confusion on his face.
âMe and Gen have six, our eldest is eighteen, youngest is three.â Mostyn answers first.
Darach follows his lead, âMyself and Gertie have five, our eldest is fifteen, youngest is also three.â
Branwen is the last to answer, âMe and My hubbie, Faron, have four, Taliesin, Samuel, Rainbow and Quintella.â
âOoh, Moss, has Eadberht said anything about proposing to his girlfriend yet?â Kirby asks.
âOh no, he hasnât said anything about proposing to Nerida, I think heâs a bit scared.â
âAww, I was looking forward to annoying him about that.â
âDonât worry, Ker, ya still the baby of the family.â Darach chuckles.
Eddie watches, stunned into silence, as Kirby and her cousins talk back and forth in Irish and Welsh, mentioning name after name, the occasional English word being spoken.
âEddie, you aâight?â Kirby asks, gently wrapping her arms around his neck.
He wraps his arms around her waist instinctively, âI have no idea, what any of, what you said for the past ten minutes means.â
âLuckily for you, none of it was important. Me and Branwen are gonna feed the twins, okay?â
âAâight, Ma, I love ya.â Eddie whispers, kissing her gently before letting her go.
From the nursery, Kirby and Branwen can hear Bran, Moss and Dara questioning Eddie.
âSo, what are the kids' names?â Moss asks.
âEmir and Ethan.â Eddie answers confidently.
âNo, no,â Dara chuckles, âtheir full names.â
âOh fuck,â Eddieâs confidence drops, âEmyr Fah-lawn Peri-der Ariel Moore and Ethan Lore-can Gwin Joel Moore.â
âPretty decent for a non-Irish speaking âIrishmanâ.â Bran announces his approval, making both of Kirbyâs male cousins shut up.
âKirby,â Branwen whispers, âSay their full names, go.â
Kirby chuckles softly, shaking her head before pronouncing her boys names perfectly, âEmyr FaolĂĄn Peredur Ariel Moore and Ethan LorcĂĄn Gwin Joel Moore. There, Branwen, ya happy?â
She nods and chuckles softly as she finishes feeding Emyr, handing him to Kirby. Kirby carries both boys into the kitchen with her. Kirby smirks and shakes her head as she watches Eddie wrestle with his belt.
âBabe, help.â Eddie mouths when he sees her.
Kirby hands the twins to their father and fixes his belt buckle, âHow the fuck did you bend the metal of this?â
When Eddie doesnât answer she looks up at his face, his line of sight directly going to her rear.
âEdward.â She grumbles.
Moss and Dara chuckle softly.
âSorry, Ma, what?â Eddieâs face goes pink from embarrassment.
âHow did you bend the metal of the belt buckle?â
âI donât know, fuckinâ witâ it too much?â He shrugs.
ââFuckinâ witâ it too muchâ?â She mockingly asks, teasing her husband.
âFucked witâ you too much, got these two as a result.â He teases back, sticking his tongue out at his wife.
Kirby copies his actions, âDoughboy.â she whispers.
âDoll.â Eddie murmurs.
âWild Card.â
âPunk Rock Princess.â
âPapi.â
âMa.â
âBite me.â She smirks.
âDid ya take ya anxiety meds, and ya iron supplements?â
âYes, as soon as I woke up.â
âYou got any more family showinâ up?â
âYa might wanna pray, âcause I donât know.â Kirby whispers.
âTake one of the Princes then.â
Kirby takes Ethan from his father, letting Eddie use his rosaries to say a small prayer.
âHey little guy,â Kirby starts baby-talking to her son when he opens his eyes, his blue eyes staring up at her own, âHowâs my little dude doing? Huh, baby boy, how is you doing my love?â
âYouâre so cute, Ma.â Eddie murmurs, making Kirby blush a bright pink.
âSorry, I got a bit lost in my thoughts.â
âI wish I got that on video, I would have watched it over and over.â
âHe looked at me, you know I gotta talk to him if he looks at me.â
âI know,â Eddie wraps his free arm around her waist, âI love you, Kirby.â
âI love you too, Eddie⊠my Edward, my King of Diamonds.â
âMy Kirby, my Dragon Princess.â He smirks.
âDid you like last night?â She asks softly.
âIf Jon and Renee werenât there, it would have been perfect.â
âItâs the closest thing to actually being in either a nightclub, or strip club with me.â
âI know, itâs also much more private and personal.â He whispers, kissing her jawline and the scar on her cheek.
âWhatâs gotten you so affectionate this morning?â
âI guess itâs just one of them days.â He winks.
âDid you go through my music?â
âYep. You left your âMoodyâ playlist up.â
âDonât blame that on me, blame it on Spotify.â She murmurs, sipping her can of decaf coffee.
Eddie grabs a can of Red Bull, and they both head to sit on the couch next to each other. Moss turns the tv on, flicking through the channels until he gets to the sport, putting on a game of Rugby, Ulster v Dragons.
âWhy donât you put on some wrestlinâ?â Eddie asks.
âBecause,â Kirby sips her coffee, âAs a family who runs a wrestling promotion, if we want to watch wrestling, we will watch something from our archives.â She explains.
âHow far do the archives go back?â
âOh jeez⊠Uncail, how far do our archives go back, with the tapes?â
Kirbyâs Uncle Bran steps back inside, holding his cigarette outside of the patio doors, âOur taped archives?â
âYeah, not the written stuff but the filmed stuff.â Kirby nods.
âI would think back to when Naoise started wrestling, so nineteen-sixty, maybe nineteen-fifty-nine? I would have to check. But itâs somewhere around then.â
âOh wow,â Eddie mumbles, âThatâs a lot of footage.â
âYeah, most of itâs been digitised now too, so weâll be able to go back, and use the footage to teach generations ahead.â Bran explains before stepping outside to finish his cigarette.
âHey Da, can I bum a smoke off ya?â Dara asks as he steps outside.
âTake one of ya sisterâs.â Bran grumbles.
âHere, and donât tell my husband, he thinks Iâve switched to the robot.â Branwen chuckles softly.
âSwitched to the robot?â Eddie asks Kirby softly.
âSwitched to an electronic cigarette or vape. Itâs something that my Uncle Rhod came up with.â She murmurs, engrossed in the rugby game.
âSweetheart.â Eddie puts his hand on her thigh, getting her attention off the tv.
âYes, Eddie?â
âYou gonna explain whatâs goinâ on?â
âWith what?â
Eddie gestures towards the tv, âI donât watch this stuff, you know me, Knicks, Yankees, that kinda stuff I watch.â
âOh,â She smiles softly, leaning back and keeping Ethan close to her chest, âSo you have Ulster, northern Irish, and The Dragons, a Welsh team. Currently The Dragons, the team Moss and Dara will want to win, are beating the asses of Ulster. You know how you have leagues and stuff?â
âYeah, this works the same?â
âYep. U.R.C, United Rugby Championship, if The Dragons win, they go on to face Edinburgh or The Sharks, depending on who wins that game.â
âOkay, and who are the Sharks?â
âTheyâre a South African team.â
âAnd why donât you guys support Ulster?â
âDivorce him.â Moss grumbles.
âHeâs askinâ why we donât support Ulster, Moss, nothinâ more.â
âWe donât support âem, âcause they fuck the British willingly.â Mostyn scoffs
âJesus, Moss. Right, long story short, we donât support Ulster âcause theyâre northern Irish, our ancestry comes from the republic.â
âOhâŠâ The weight of Mossâ statement dawns on Eddie, âSo if I were to support Ulster, your family would hate me?â
âDonât even mention them by name.â She whispers.
Eddie nods, putting a finger to his lips, indicating that heâll stay silent. Instead Eddie focuses on Emyr, both him and Kirby watching as his son, Emyr, yawns and opens his eyes. Green eyes meeting green eyes. Son staring up at his father, reaching for his face, or rather the blur that takes up most of Emyrâs vision. Eddie in his âI hope you sufferâ tank top and a pair of jeans, timbs on but unlaced, rosaries hidden between his white and black tank-tops. Emyr in a small âkiss me Iâm Irishâ onesie, a gift from his maternal grandmother, Kirbyâs Mam, Oda.
âI hope one day, youâll grow up to find a woman, or hell, a man, who is as amazing as ya mother, Emyr.â Kingston whispers, kissing his eldest son on the head.
âKingy, that has gotta be one of the sweetest things youâve ever said.â Kirby whispers, receiving a gentle kiss on her cheek scar.

Day 48: Friday February 17, 2023 -Â âPhoto Reelâ
What my photo reel can say about how we navigated our day together:
7:08am - Stacking garages at sunrise. I may never sleep in ever again. 10:49am - Story time at the Library, shy in my lap. Taking in the scene. William starts school next week, so some good socialization should be useful. I told William that Libraries are where all the books come from. He obviously had no clue we were coming to Story time for little babies instead of nap today! 11:15am - William is caught reading âWhere is the Pirate?â to another little boy with a stuffed rat. Biggest cat in the room once he figured it out. 11:54am - Holy shit, did you know Peacocks can jump?! 12:05pm - When we go to the zoo we work our way back to the Elephants, and apparently Noon is a really great time to be here, because at least today, Noon was feeding time and all the elephants were right up to the gate and what do they eat? Cucumbers. Check that out William! 12:15pm - After seeing the elephants, I get William out to run around and see if heâll go hit the elephant butt. Today he came close - but did really enjoy watching the other little boys do it. He can point out every animal on the big donor mural back there! Even the Ostrich! 12:28pm - âWant to go see the bearded dragons today?â  âYEAAAA!â 12:53pm. - Lunch time. Zoo Fries. Dippa Dippa. Ice. We both love this part of the day. 2:02pm - Somewhere during the hour long afternoon nap.  Audrie asked me to try to stretch the morning out and only do one nap. I gave it my best shot! I kept him awake until 1:30 when we started to drive home. I pulled into Michaels Parking Lot as soon as he was out and took advantage of that time to get some work done, hotspotting into my email. Time is a premium. I look up into the mirror to see if heâs still asleep and saw the most precious little boy with his Uncle Louie and I thought he looked just about perfect. 3:43pm - Time outside laying on the grass playing with the ice cream truck, turned into a big whirling dervish Dog Wrestle where all three puppies practiced their best moves and defenses to see who would be king for the day, and in practiced fashion, Havarti wins. Because Havyvys is the King of every day here at The Finca.  4:33pm - Toot Toot. Time to go try to take a nap because this guy is asking for Thomas The Train.... or maybe heâs pretending to be an ice cream train. Hard to say but I look at this picture now at the end of the day and can literally hear him saying âtoot tootâ 7:20 - Butter Noodles are served with Potatoes/Ranch Dippa, and Cucumbers (like the elephants eat). It took some wild coaxing (I know that was a lot of french fries dude but that was literally six hours ago!). Even Mama couldnt coax him to eat over facetime. Finally I got serious.  âWhat do you want to watch while you eat? Dora?â âHOCKEY!â Seriously? OK! I found the Spartans playing Wisconsin, and William clapped and said âLets Go Bluesâ and ate his dinner. Sometimes something works and I have no clue why. Like what kind of cheat code was that?! 7:45pm - Play time in the great room to wind down and digest that food. Get your wiggles out running that truck transporter up and down the bench seat. That truck transporter is early front runner for toy of the year. 7:53 -âWhat are you playing with there buddy?â - âMama on the airplane.â Now thats a heart melter.  âMama flying the airplane? While the pilot rides?â  âYea!â âIs that why it never leaves the ground?â  âYea!â 8:13pm - Tubby time. He really doesnât like getting his hair washed. Really its the rinse that gets him. Heâs taken to playing with the rinse bucket so that I canât sneak up on him with it. This kid really loves his nightly tubby time though, especially since we add the blocks to make a boat out of for Ernie and Cookie, and bubbles that smell so nice. Its a great positive kickoff to bedtime routine and I am so glad he enjoys it and its not a fight. I suppose we can thank mama and all those early bath times for that! Writing about it now reminds me of how funny he was when weâd lift him up and out of the bath as a little baby. Such great memories. 9:14pm: 15 hours after it started, almost exaclty, the day was done. Sure I had to come back in and reassure him the standard few times, but I called it with a photo at 9:14. The bed time routine went fine. He didnât want to get out of the tub, and so got shivery cold as he brushed his teeth and I held him tightly in front of the mirror. I moved him to the changing table where I combed his hair real nice with a part to the left (my favorite part of the routine), then lotioned him, added a diaper, and put on his lucky âNo Wake Zoneâ pajamas - we might need these tonight after Mama had me take out the morning nap! Then we read 4 books (Heads, Goodnight Hockey, Love In The Wild, and First 100 Trucks), while he ate a Peach Squeezy yogurt, the only one heâll take these days. He sucked it dry in about 2 minutes. I should time him one of these days, but its very efficient. I suppose all that practice with the nipple raised a superstar squeezy sucker. We put on the sleep sack, said goodnight to the dogs and everything else we passed along the way (elmo chair, monkey, baseball, hockey game on tv). He took some ibuprofen for his teeth, chased with some icewawa, looked at me and said âBopâ - Kenny Chesney, Nick Mulvey, Renee & Jermey, Sleep Sounds, Thunderstorm.  Bop goes the weasel and finally on the third of fourth try I had him down to stay and I snuck out. Finally time for a break. Turned the salt lamp up, stole a pic - the best one of the day. The trophy prize - a happy healthy sleeping baby right on time at the end of a successful day where I planned my work and I work my plan. The picture, at 9:14pm, of successful Dad Day.
Song:Â Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness
Quote:  âListen to me son, Iâll tell you why your father is strong; Because he can still say ever single day, heâs yearning to belong. Yearning to belong, Yearning to belong, My heart beats with a ceaseless longing of a yearning to belong In spite of myself, and all of these nursery songs My heart beats with a ceaseless, meets with a peaceless burning to belongâ
