A headcanon I've come to adore recently is the one where Red and Vio are very cuddly together. Like, not even in a romantic way, they just both enjoy physical contact.

Red already seems the type to want hugs or just generally maintain physical contact with the people he cares about, but I like the idea that Vio is similar, even if he doesn't look the type to.

I can vibe with the hc that Vio doesn't like to be touched (as someone who can't be touched by others without feeling pain/starting to twitch erratically, I can relate a lot lmao), but there's just something really appealing about the juxtaposition between his personality and these actions, ya know?

Vio was the first to pat Red on the head (within maybe an hour of them all existing), he doesn't attempt to brush off Red's hug after they're all reunited, nor does he seem to when Red makes a seemingly similar attempt outside the Temple of Darkness--not to mention all the casual contact he had with Shadow. And if the inside cover of the Legendary Edition is believed canon, then at some point he let Shadow basically sit in his lap while he held Shadow's waist (totally straight of them btw mhm).

You'd think Vio would at least hint that he doesn't like physical contact somewhere along the way, but he seems pretty alright with it even if he doesn't usually initiate it.

I like to combine this hc with my other hc that the colors all have drastically different body temperatures based on elemental alignment, so Red and Vio just balance each other out and are thusly always pressed together in some way. Red runs very hot and Vio runs very cold. Blue "reluctantly" seeks out Red for warmth after the whole being frozen alive ordeal (he probably has the most normal body temp of the group), but Green is the one who's actually touch averse on account of his temp being wildly influenced by contact with the others (and him not being able to regulate that).

I think Shadow also runs cold, so him and Vio are just cold together. But at least it makes the fire temple more manageable.

Reading and writing had never come easy to Steve. Surprisingly, numbers had been easy, which definitely helped as he moved into retail later in life. Letters though, they were often his enemy.

Nancy was a big reason he even was able to graduate let alone write college essays. He'd have her check and recheck until all the letters sat in their correct spots.

Working at Scoops had been relatively easy, he learnt what flavours looked like rather than reading their labels, memorizing their menu by reading it over and over again until he was sure he knew everything on it.

Working at Family Video had been harder, a lot more titles and words to read. Miserably watching the letters jump into wrong places, often placing titles in B rather than D.

Robin helped, mentioned a cousin with dyslexia, suggested a doctor but after Starcourt you'd have to drag him to a doctor. Instead he mostly manned the till, stocked the candy and rewound tapes.

He thought about college again, thought about his future and what he wanted. He knew everything would involve reading though so he put a pin in that for later, although becoming a math teacher sounded nice, he liked numbers and kids.

Part of him was jealous that he couldn't be someone to read to Eddie as he lay in the hospital, all the kids took turns, he didn't even know if Eddie would want him to read to him.

Eddie brought a new wave of words to his life, but in loud rambles like Robin. Steve expressed how he wished he could read as much as Eddie, explaining his difficulties.

"I could read to you?"

Steve smiled at Eddie's blush.

"I'd like that."

It became a thing to chase away nightmares, soft words lulling the younger boy to sleep, Eddie never seemed to mind claiming a bedmate helped with the nightmares.

Now Steve was in a new predicament. Butterflies in his stomach every time Eddie would use his soft voice knowing Steve was almost asleep or when they'd curl up together every movie night.

"You like Eddie!"

"Ok we're just skipping over me liking guys, yes I like Eddie!"

"Has more talent than Tammy I'll give you that."

He sat at his desk now, surrounded by scrunched up pieces of paper, "This was a stupid idea!"

"What you working on, Stevie?"

Shit, was it 3 o'clock already!? He hadn't heard Eddie get here, he wasn't meant to see this yet, it wasn't perfect yet.

"Um, nothing?"

"That a question or a statement, sweetheart?" Eddie laughed softly walking over to the desk quickly peering over Steve's shoulder before Steve had a chance to cover it.

"Aw a Valentine's letter! Who's the lucky lady that has Steve Harrington writing, she must be pretty special." There was a tightness in Eddie's voice but Steve could only feel the flush rising in his cheeks.

"They are and they're always writing such lovely words I wanted to show them I was serious." Steve said hoping Eddie didn't pick up he didn't say she.

"Let me take a look, Stevie, you know I don't mind proofreading your stuff," the paper was in Eddie's hands before Steve could stop him.

Steve wanted Hawkins to open up again just to swallow him up. Eddie was quiet which he never is which terrified Steve.

After a moment Eddie reached over Steve again grabbing the pencil and carefully crossing out a word in the poem.

Guys guys guys guys. Guys. Stay with me on this one, I know I keep rambling about merlin but like. Do you get it that merlin doesn't have any memory of when they were a kid..... Like childhood?? Na-da, who's the closest parental figure they have?? Dunno, do they ever have a family before they got the title merlin?? Would that be fucking awful if they did but their whole bloodline just dies after war or something. It's been centuries, there are countless of ancient tablets or ruins with historical events and some of it highlighting merlin great deeds, heroic myths, but none about their family. None about who they were before merlin.

Anyways, being of a star or not, immortal or not, he's just a pure enigma, a tragic one too, not a god, not a demigod, not a mytics, not even a human. But is so tragically humane and warmth, and oh so alone.
