I like to think that Hiccup would be more of an affectionate father because he somewhat wished that Stoick was. Hence the birth of this sketch. I also love the more domestic side of Hiccup and Astrid, and can’t resist drawing cute family moments lol.

Me, to my new date: doctor who thinks it's a sci-fi story because the Doctor thinks it's a sci-fi story and because the companions think it's a sci-fi story, but it's really just a story about ghosts. a story about an ancient creature carrying the ghosts of everyone they have ever loved, meeting new people, and seeing them only as future ghosts. they are haunted by the future and the past and the present because they are the only constant in a world constantly in flux, and they are running as fast as they can to things before they burn and fade to dust but everything will always end, you understand, because this is the only thing the Doctor understands and yet they keep going. they love too much to stop. doctor who is not science-fiction, it's horror and optimism and spiritual more than anything else, it's religious unto itself, the TARDIS is a haunted house and a church and a graveyard and a hospital and the Doctor is the most haunted being in the universe but more than anything, this is a love story, because how can you love something without being haunted by it- hey, what are you doing?

Many eager eligible lords and ladies found themselves disappointed during the Equinox Ball as their efforts to catch the Autumn Prince’s eye were for naught. The Prince Haddock spent the majority of the event away from the crowd and was observed keeping to his own despite many invites to the dance floor. This author is compelled to share their opinion that it is the height of rudeness to attend a ball without joining in the practice of its purpose: dancing. Ah, but the arrival of his paramour saw the Prince in a better mood, shocking those present with their enthusiasm to greet one another. It seems the Autumn Prince had made his message clear to the crowd, that he is an exclusive item to the ever mysterious (and frustratingly yet named!) spirit of Winter.

Beetlejuice: What? Honey, you don't quite understand what ghosts are. Ghosts are lost souls looking for the meaning of existence. And I found mine. *ruffles Astrid's hair next to him*

Astrid: *smiled* And not only you.

when i tell you this episode was cooked up in a "making me insane" lab. the doctor dancing with and kissing jonathan groff at a bridgerton-inspired regency ball. when they first meet a string quartet is playing bad guy. his character was named after d&d. kylie minogue plays on his spaceship. they dance to libertango. they stage a scene that turns into a fake proposal that felt a little too real. oh and jonathan groff says "find me" before sacrificing himself for ruby and the doctor puts that ring on the finger that he canonically put his last wedding ring. it hit like a queered-up tennant era episode and i feel totally normal and chill about it
