(I'm the anon who said/asked about Lin not disappointing with 'Warriors') I felt iffy about 'Hamilton' with one reason being I don't really listen to hip-hop, but my God, was I wrong and, unfortunately, late to the game. I downloaded most of the songs while watching it on D+! 😂 But I honestly don't know about 'Warriors'... Do you have any song recommendations?

omg anon, i hope you don't mind me writing a fucking essay again (well, maybe not essay but this will be a long answer), this ask made me so happy!

i never really listened to hip-hop music either (which is ironic if you think about my favourite artists... but this is like a totally different type of music and we call it gangster poetry here, right?). however, if you love hamilton, i'm pretty sure you would fall in love with warriors as well!

so let's start with the fact that this album is like... SOOOOO LIN. full of hip-hop music but also other genres, every character has their own musical theme (my favourite thing about musicals, also as someone who has never seen the movie and has absolutely no intentions to change that, i was afraid i could have problems with following the plot, there are so many characters, but hey, once again, lin made it so easy for us cause he's a fantastic songwriter and storyteller). honestly, the more i listen to it, the more things i notice. i remember there was a rumour some time ago about "major pop stars" being on the album and i obviously thought "taylor swift and beyonce???" lmao. i'm so glad it turned out to be false, cause we have pippa soo, jazzy jones and amber gray instead (and i would die for them!!!). also, if you're familiar with freestyle love supreme, you would probably recognize aneesa folds, as well as utkarsh ambudkar (oh my fucking god i was so excited when he was announced because i love this dude so much it's unreal!!!). so basically, once again, we have lin manuel miranda and friends (tick tick boom, i'm talking about you). and this just makes me so happy!!! anyway...

if you're still not sure if you wanna listen to the whole album, i will just give you my favourite songs that you should definitely check out (with a little explanation) and then you can decide if you wanna hear the rest of it!

survive the night - it's the first song on the album and it's just so damn catchy, it kinda shows you what you can expect and as much as i wasn't really convinced before the album came out, after hearing this song i was really hyped, so i would recommend to start with this one!

going down - this song should be 10 hours long and i'm not even kidding... ok, so luther is the villain in our story and this is his first song, when i heard it for the first time my jaw literally dropped to the floor, i still can't believe this is a song from lin's musical lmao, i can't stop listening to it, NOW I WOULD PAY SO MUCH MONEY TO SEE IT ON BROADWAY (also i think it makes so much sense to give this particular genre to the villain but i don't want to spoil anything for you so i'm not saying anything else, please just listen to it hdebjfe)

orphan town - when utk was announced before the album came out i was thinking that he would probably have a rap verse or something... cause that would make sense, right (fls!)? well, i was wrong. but i would recognize his voice anywhere. oh my fucking god, this is, for me, the funniest song on the album and it's all because of him. you should see my face when i heard it for the first time. i fucking love this dude!!!

call me mercy - this is the "i want" song from warriors and i usually love those so fucking much ("how far i'll go" and "waiting on a miracle" i'm talking about you), it's just so good and i find myself singing this one at least a few times a day now lmao

still breathin' - i need you to check this one out because it's so damn emotional and i think aneesa is such an amazing rapper and the "what do you do when they kill everything you believe in?" has been stuck in my head ever since i heard it for the first time ughh

quiet girls - not much to say about this one except that it's just so damn catchy and the production on this track is probably my favourite from the entire album, so it has to be on the list

sick of runnin' - AMBER FUCKING GRAY (ajax is my wife, back off everyone)!!! this is such a fun song, i've been in love with amber's voice ever since i listened to hadestown for the first time so no surprise there, but also: 96,000 🤝 non-stop 🤝 we don't talk about bruno 🤝 sick of runnin' (YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! classic lin, i can already see myself trying to sing EVERY PART OF THE SONG AT ONCE AND BEING ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED THAT I CAN DO THIS LMAO).

a light or something - this is so gayyyyyyy and jazzy jones is there, do i need to say more?

somewhere in the city - this song gives me shivers and honestly i started crying when i heard it for the first time but i don't know if you're gonna get emotional if you don't really know the plot, however, it's an amazing song and i have a feeling you may like it

reunion square - this is definitely one of my faves (especially the last part of the song and phillipa soo as fox, you know i love her), once again, i don't know if it's something you should listen to if you know nothing about the plot but fuck, i was crying like a baby on this one and "when you woke up today you didn't think you could die, neither did i" and and and I'M FUCKING SOBBING

same train home - i recommend it if you wanna cry

one thing i also need to mention is that i absolutely love the transitions on this album, they are cool as fuck!!! and i think that's it for now because it's already longer than i wanted it to be, oh my god. i'm sorry. i'm really sorry. if you made it to the end, i love you. thanks for reading. and also please let me know once you check them all out, i really need to know your opinion!

SHE CALLED HIM HER FRIEND!!! Athena is missing ody :(( and athena not telling telemachus that she’s friends with his dad is really in character. i just find the withholdel of information very descriptive in a character.

OH THE MEMORIES JUMP AT THE BEGINNING SCRATCHES MY BRAIN!! it’s perfect. and i love love love the silence after “she’s my wife” ohh. and the delivery on “bow down to the immortal cylisto~” fucking amazing <333 and the overlapping bit oooohhhhh i was CRYING aw

God Games:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I have to make something from it idk what but i need to create something. APALLO’S VOICE IS SO SMOUTH AND SO AMAZING IT FITS PERFECTLY AA! And I love that Jorge’s dad is Hephaestus (i assume bc of him building the sound booth) and Hephaestus’ part goes SO HARD! Aphrodite and Ares’ parts are amazing just the best ever. Hera’s glisses (idk what they’re called i’m not a choir kid) are just the tastesist ever. BEAST MODE ZUES IS SO GOOD HOW WHAT YES JUST YES!!!!

Also i watched the live stream and i just want to say ALL THE ANAMATICS ARE SO GOOD AND SO AMAZING AND SO PRETTY AND JUST THE BEST!!!!

“BABE,” Kai said excitedly, looking down at his phone.

Skylar looked up at him from where he’d been busy curating an Instagram post documenting the trip he and Kai had taken to the Zoboomafoo anniversary experience.

“Noah Kahan is going on tour!” Kai seemed excited as his eyes scanned the dates, and his face dropped, “But he’s not coming to Adelaide.”

“Who is Noah Kahan?” Sky looked at him confused.

Kai’s jaw dropped, “I can’t wait to introduce you to him. You’re gonna love his music.”

“O…kay?”

And sure enough, a few moments later, a twangy guitar came from Kai’s portable speaker, the guy’s vocals singing, “As you promised me that I was more than all the miles combined, you must’ve had yourself a change of heart like halfway through the drive.”

Skylar stopped Kai with a simple hand raised, “Wait. What’s this song called?”

“Stick Season,” Kai responded, confused, “Why? Do you know it?”

“No,” Skylar searched up the lyrics on his phone, “Lyrics. Can’t hear.”

“Do I need to turn it up?”

“Audio processing issues,” he shook his head.

Kai nodded, “Is that why you don’t listen to music that much?” Skylar shrugged but then waved his hand for Kai to restart the song and let it play once he had Genius lyrics pulled up in front of him.

“And I love Vermont, but it’s the season of the sticks. And I saw your mom, she forgot that I existed. And it’s half my fault I just like to play the victim. I’ll drink alcohol ‘til my friends come home for Christmas.”

Skylar nodded along as the third chorus came on, finding the song rather catchy.

“Sooooo?”

“I like it,” Skylar smiled softly, “Do you wanna go see the show?”

“It’s in Melbourne… or Brisbane… Or Sydney.”

“And? We could take a little road trip to one of them.”

“Babe, that’s a minimum 8 hour drive to Melbourne.”

Skylar didn’t seem bothered, shrugging, “Then I guess we don’t have to.”

Kai nodded, looking downcast but accepting it wasn’t meant to be this time.

SKY: Come outside.

KAI: I’m about to leave for work.

SKY: I called in a favor. You’re off work this weekend.

KAI: What?

SKY: Just come outside. Please.

Kai came out from the apartment and spotted Skylar not in his work uniform (despite him supposed to be working too), standing in front of a van.

“Hi love. Get in and get changed,” Skylar opened up the van’s sliding door to reveal it was a converted van and there was a stylish outfit Kai had never seen on a hanger inside the van.

“What are we doing?”

“It’s a surprise. Get changed. Get in the passenger seat. We’re going on a trip.”

“A trip? To where?”

“It’s a surprise. Is that okay?”

Kai chuckled, his face lighting up, “More than okay. Let’s do it.”

Skylar got in the driver's side, plugging his phone to the aux and queueing up a playlist of every song Kai had shown Skylar in the 4 years they’d been dating. He’d been carefully compiling it, not sure why he’d ever need it, but then this impromptu road trip came to mind and it was a perfect time.

The first song that played was a Wallows song, “These Days”. Skylar nodded along to the music as Kai got in the passenger song.

“I need to know if you’re feeling it or I’m wasting my time. Your way or mine?” Kai sang along.

“You ready?”

Kai nodded, beaming, “Take us away, my love.”

First stop was Stirling, a meet 20 minutes from Adelaide, the two of them pulling up outside the Aldi.

“Snacks,” Skylar announced as they pulled up.

“I was hoping we weren’t dressing up to go to an Aldi,” Kai joked, getting out of the van and heading inside.

Skylar chuckled, taking Kai’s hand in his as they walked inside, grabbing snacks and drinks for the drive. Skylar let it slip they’d be driving for a while and to stock up on stuff for the ride.

They checked out, heading back to the van and getting in.

Skylar stuck his drink in the cup holder and smiled, starting up the music again. This time, a funky piano with Valley’s vocals came through the speakers, “I always thought I’d meet the one at a record shop or something fun.”

They pulled back onto the freeway and Skylar grinned as Kai looked out the window, shimmying as the chorus hit.

“Love,” Skylar chuckled, “You should probably take videos of this trip. To look back on.”

“Oh? Okay.” Kai took out his phone, recording the road and then the two of them.

“Oh shit, are we in love?” The singer’s voice said and Skylar mouthed the words, leading to a chuckle and a kiss on the cheek from Kai.

“We are,” he reassured the video before turning it off.

More song and more driving, seemingly in the middle of nowhere at this point, Kai asked again, “Where is it we’re going?”

“To Melbourne.”

“Why?”

“You’ll see,” Skylar said, keeping his mouth shut, motioning with a simple zip.

“Sky,” Kai chuckled.

Skylar pretended his lips were actually zipped shut and spoke muffledly.

“I love you.”

Sky unzipped his lips to say, “I love you too,” before zipping them again with a chuckle.

Kai got comfortable in his seat and drifted to sleep.

“You feel like city lights, apple pie baked just right. Home is wherever you are tonight.”

Skylar glanced over at him and sighed peacefully. He was reminded of a poetry book of Kai’s he read one time. Most of them were things he never felt so he didn’t understand them. But this one came to him again at this moment. And it finally made sense.

Driving the road in the middle of the night,

Not a car in sight,

My world asleep in the seat beside me.

It’s moments like this that make life worth living.

I take a picture, worth a thousand words I could not write.

Skylar wished he could take a picture of it, but he was okay that it would just exist in his mind forever.

The road sign Skylar was following said Melbourne. Kai stirred, rubbing his eyes, “Melbourne? Sky, love, why are we going to Melbourne?”

He shrugged, continuing to drive.

Sure enough, they went into the city, pulling up to The Forum. The sign outside said: “NOAH KAHAN” in big letters.

Kai’s eyes lit up, “WHAT?!”

“Surprise, love.”

“H- wh- Skylar!” Kai reached across the car once they were parked, hugging Skylar tightly.

Sky hugged him back with a grin, kissing his temple, “Is it a good surprise?”

“A great surprise. Thank you.”

“Good.”

Noah stood on the stage, introducing the song Everywhere, Everything and Skylar took a deep breath. He’d memorized every song from his discography and done research to find out which songs were played at the concerts every night.

“I wanna love you til we’re food for the worms to eat, til our fingers decompose, keep my hand in yours.”

Skylar took Kai’s hand, squeezing it. As Kai looked over at him, Skylar sank down onto one knee, a nervous smile on his face, “Surprise again?”

Kai gasped, “No way. SKYLAR!”

“Will you marry me?”

Kai’s eyes welled with tears as he nodded, “Yes. YES!”

The people surrounding them cheered as Skylar slid a ring onto Kai’s finger. He stood back up and kissed him happily.

The rest of the concert they were inseparable. And when they returned to Adelaide, everyone at the zoo congratulated them.

Current Favorite Color: what's funny is that purple and teal are my favorite combination, so I'd have to say both at once? I'm also a fan of blue and orange, but only together. Last Song: Not counting me trying to search through spotify to find one specific tune in this k-drama, it was Labour by Paris Paloma, which goes hard while being so damn catchy, I cannot recommend it enough.

Currently Reading: Okay I'm trying to retrain my brain to read long things at a stretch again to mixed degrees of failure, but currently I'm rereading Saiyuki, which is a fantastic series that more people should definitely know about. I also just barely picked up and started to read Wuthering Heights today after a discussion with my roommate about how twisted Gothic romances are. So, here's hoping I can actually get through it without getting distracted fjkdsal;fd

Currently Watching: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo. Again. Mostly because one of my roommates had me watch it years ago and now we're getting the other roommate into it. I've never laughed so hard or wanted to cry so much. The characters are so good. The story is so good. The soundtrack is impeccable. Out of all the dramas I've ever seen, literally nothing tops this for writing, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Currently Craving: Does sleep count There's actually this really good Bioshock-themed tea blend on Adagio that I've been craving a lot lately -- I wish my budget would let me make another tea splurge again jfkdlsjafl;d

Coffee or Tea: I think the above may help my case, but I'm dEFINITELY a tea kinda gill. Iced, hot, herbal, black, green.....I have a lot jfkdl;safd I could buy stock in Adagio at this point. It's not that I don't like coffee! I'm a sucker for a good latte, but I don't crave sweet drinks often, so I much prefer tea.

hmmm.... found family, maybe? based on my intention with the last fic I was trying to work on. other than that what I like to daydream about it the trope that I'll call "character turns up at different periods of the other character's timeline and gets to meet them and develop their relationship further after they have changed" catchy, isn't it?

Okay, to make this easier for me, I’m gonna rank all the songs by album/trilogy/etc, and then make a list of my Very Favorites at the end :)

Maybe I Was Boring

1. White Wine In A Wetherspoons — before a few weeks ago I didn’t even realize this was one of Wilbur’s songs aksgajsgajf but I LISTENED AND INSTANTLY WAS LIKE “OHHHH THIS IS A FAVORITE THIS IS A FAVORITE OH MY!!!” I absolutely love the more visual lyrics, ones that describe places or moments, and the image of hurrying up flights of stairs and finally sitting down to drink, coupled with snapshots from London… immaculate. Simply immaculate. Gosh I love this song. Pretty much every lyric in this song are some of my favorite lyrics of Any song Ever oh my gosh oh my gosh

2. Maybe I Was Boring — again, the visual lyrics really make me love the song :D And it has such a pretty sound, and the lyrics themselves are so poetic, and just… GAH!!! I’ve listened to this song way more times than any of the others in the single (to the point where I kinda forgot about all the other songs til a bit ago lol). AAAAAH AND I LOVE THE END WITH THE REPETITION YES YESSSSSSSSS

2. It’s All Futile, It’s All Pointless — TIED WITH MAYBE I WAS BORING HECK YEAH!!! I can’t choose between them :’0 I really really like them both!! The quick strumming is sooooo satisfying to my ears, and the way Wilbur sings in this song specifically is just… yes.

3. For Memories — the big reason I’m not as big of a fan of this song is the plucking bits! I really like guitar-plucking in songs, but I don’t really like the way these plucks sound. Not my style! I do, however, think the lyrics are really sweet, and I love the strumming bit towards the end :D If it wasn’t for the strumming, I don’t think I’d have this song in my library though :0

E-Girl Trilogy

1. I’m In Love With An E-Girl — IT’S SO DARN PRETTYYYYY AAAAAH YES!!! This one has been my favorite out of the trilogy for months and months now, and I’ve listened to it a bunch :D I really like the way Wilbur sings in this song, and I really like the lyrics, and the sound, and the plucking, and the strumming… it’s just a good song!!

Not exactly pertinent to me ranking the songs, but there’s a short behind the scenes video (HE LOOKS SO NERVOUS AKSGAJSGAJSG) and an animation (one of the first MCYT animations I ever saw!) for I’m In Love With An E-Girl that I really like :)

2. Your New Boyfriend — This one’s… sorta nostalgic for me? Not exactly, because I only discovered it a little over a year ago 😅 But it reminds me of first getting into the whole DSMP fandom, so it’s special :) I really really like the backing track/vocals!! It has such a pretty sound, and it’s unique and catchy as well :D I don’t like the lyrics all that much though; if I did, this would probably rank higher than I’m In Love With An E-Girl! (psssst this was also the first song I ever learned on my ukulele)

3. Internet Ruined Me — I don’t dislike the song, it’s just… not my style. I do, however, really really like the bit at the end, with the repeated, “we used to sleep on call together”. GOSH I love that bit.

Edit: okay I’ve been listening to Internet Ruined Me a good bit lately, and I think it’s growing on me :0 Still my least favorite out of the trilogy, but I seem to enjoy it more and more with each listen :D

Your City Gave Me Asthma

1. La Jolla — LA JOLLAAAAAA!!! FOXIE, IF GOLDEN HOUR IS YOUR SONG, THEN LA JOLLA IS ONE OF MINE!!! GAH!!! Gosh, just. Oh gosh. This song. Ough. It is beautiful and deep and emotional and filled with longing and wondering and missing and so many other feelings and the way his voice sounds and the incredible guitar and the static-y telephone sound effects… it’s breathtaking. It’s such a beautiful song. I love it so so much. Oh my gosh.

It is also the only song I’ve ever fallen asleep to XD

2. Jubilee Line — :’( It’s a really stunning song, and it sounds lovely but the lyrics are so sad and the story behind the song is even more sad and just… gahhhhh!!! I really enjoy listening to sad songs, and this one is… incredible. It’s so good.

3. Since I Saw Vienna — YES!!! WONDERFUL LOVELY SOUNDS HERE!!! I’ve listened to this song a bunch this year :D It’s got such a folk-y wandering vibe!!

4. Saline Solution — HECK YEAHHHH I LOVE THE LYRICS ABOUT THE ALARM CLOCK!!! GOOD GOOD SONG!!! VERY SOLID!!!

5. Losing Face — This is gonna sound so weird, but this song gives me major nostalgic vibes; but specifically nostalgic vibes for youth group of all things?? When I was little, I went to youth group/awana at church, and the music that was played there sounded very similar—backing track-wise—to Losing Face! So whenever I hear this song I’m reminded of doing youth group as a little kid :)

Which is a bit strange alsgaksgakgsha because these lyrics aren’t exactly church-y lol

6. Your Sister Was Right — This used to be one of my favorites from the album, but as I’ve listened to the other songs I’ve found myself liking this one a bit less! I still like it though :) The plucking is so cool gosh

7. I’m Sorry Boris — I’m a very sensitive person and the guitar squeaks always make me jump 😭 WHY ARE THE GUITAR SQUEAKS SO LOUD. ORDINARILY I LOVE HEARING GUITAR SQUEAKS IN SONGS BUT THESE ONES ARE WAY TOO LOUD AND THEY STARTLE ME. Ajsgajsgaksgajf other than that, it’s a really pretty + emotional song, and La Jolla’s, “you know it takes a lot to move me / if you figure it out, tell me” compared to I’m Sorry Boris’, “I’ve figured out what can move me” will never not make me <3 :’)

Speedrun Opinions On Extra Wilbur Songs!

1. Diegetic Little Freak — GOSH I LOVE THIS ONE!!! OH HOW I WISH HE’D OFFICIALLY RELEASE IT!!! IT’S SO GOOD 😭

2. Karen Please — this one just sounds good lol. Loooove the chords/strumming pattern :D I’ve learned this one on ukulele actually!! And the lyrics are… interesting! Very very interesting!

3. Screensaver — the lost beloved <3 Dude this is one of the first Wilbur songs I ever heard :0 I used to listen to it a lot. THE LYRICS AND STRUMMING ARE SO GOOD AAAAAAAH

4. Vitriol — Wilbur’s very first original song, if I remember correctly! And- okay. The vocals. Are kinda. Really not good lol WHICH MAKES SENSE!!! IT WAS HIS FIRST SONG AND HE DID NOT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH SINGING!!! But gosh it still makes me cringe XD However, someone got that song and made a Lovejoy version of it, and I really like that :D I think if Wilbur wanted to, he could rework the song into something brilliant!! It is truly a lost relic <3

-17. The Nice Guy Ballad — yeah we’re going into the negatives here. This… is one of the very few songs I vehemently dislike. It makes me real uncomfortable :/ And I kinda get that; I know Wilbur isn’t actually singing from his POV, but from the POV of the crappy stereotypical “good guy” in movies. But like… ah. I really don’t like this song. I’ve only ever heard the full thing once and I have no desire to hear it again.

melfest heat 2 was ok…I figured either wiktoria or theoz would’ve qualified for the final for sure but neither have (although theoz is in the semi final so we’ll see) (also victor crone is in the semi final as well and I don’t like the song but I hated the song he had when he competed for estonia like I did not like it at all so :/)

the lithuanian semi final was fine, paulinas song is good and I think she’s among the favourites to win with mario (the song is also good) but I actually really like moonbee like the chorous is stuck in my head, beatrich was also good

estonia was the first of the night and the one I was disappointed by the most because ollie was my favourite by far (the song is kinda giving nickelback tbh but it works) and he ended up second and they chose a ballad (in english as well) and while its not bad it’s nothing special imo

denmark is fine but it reminds me of another song and it drives me crazy because I can’t figure out which one but I think overall the song is fine (has a lot of vocal effects tho so I don’t know how good these will translate to eurovision)

latvias song is actually really good I like that they included a bit of a latvian lullaby at the end but I also think hush wouldve been a good option as well

romanias song is also good, I think the final was somewhat weak but dgt is really good and catchy and he has good stage presence

malta was surpassingly fine although I would’ve loved to see aidan there (he was second last year and his song was sooooo much better than what they ended up sending (they changed the song after the final) and it was in maltese and I loved the song so much) I actually thought brooke would win but the busker is fun and could at least get them to the final

I don’t really wanna talk about croatia like they had some good entries in the last few years but this entire final felt really outdated and not in a fun way

as for sanremo…it felt both gay and homophobic (which I think is the point of sanremo) and it was at least entertaining to watch and during the superfinal I was rooting for lazza even though I figured marco would win (I think the song is okay but he is amazing live which is worth a lot and elevates it)

MER AV DIG GOES CRAZY I LOVE IT!!! Even if it doesn't go any farther that's an easy playlist addition the entire performance was amazing. I can't find a video of Wiktoria's performance but I love the song and her voice is GORGEOUS.

Denmark's I think was one of my favorites of the entries released yesterday but I think the concern about it translating to a live performance is p valid, I'm watching the performance from the grand prix and it's pretty good, but I think he could definitely do w some dance training? ALSO I REALIZED IT SOUNDS LIKE A LAUV SONG 😭😭 I’m not sure which one but it’s very much a how I’m feeling track and I’m a sucker for lauv. So

The Aija performance was perfect for the song, though I will say I liked it more on the 2nd playthrough than I did the first

I also really liked DGT, for me it also needed a second playthrough for me to really appreciate but it’s really fun and I’m excited to see it on stage!!

The Busker was giving me Be More Chill vibes during their performance and it's a funky little song, I hope it'll be a fan favorite bc given the track record of last year's judging I don't trust the jury (nor most of the public) to let it get through :(

The Croatian one was definitely interesting, I don’t think I loved the song’s sound but the translation and interpretation was interesting to read n it’s quite topical so 😭😭 I doubt it’ll get through semis though

as for sanremo I’m so confused about what happened bc someone else (?) sent me something about live divorces and sexuality crises but I don’t think I could make myself sit through it all 😭

While due vite wasn’t at the top for me during sanremo I haven't been able to get it out of my head so yk what? I’m excited to see him bc the recording sounds almost identical to his live performance it’s awesome also I just wholeheartedly want italy to win every year unless the song is trash, which it hasn't been since I started watching

BCG Season 4 review update!

Now featuring tiers, since I recently went through ALL the episodes and put them on a personal tier list that I’ve been updating each week. So, in terms of JUST ranking season 4:

D-Tier:

Green Trial: Simply put, The Ghost and Molly McGee did this exact plot a lot better - and even if they hadn’t, this episode just feels really mean spirited with not many of it’s jokes landing for me.

Junk Junkie: Not super fun with a plot that feels more convoluted than anything. I can understand Bill’s character motivation here, but it still feels like we get to an extreme scenario way too quickly.

C-Tier:

Money Sense: A solid enough moral, but a pretty meh story. I don’t mind Remy being in the wrong sometimes, but it still has to be a bit more entertaining and fun than this.

Bad Dad: I do appreciate that Nancy isn’t forced to forgive her dad and that it’s him that has to change his ways at least somewhat if he wants to see his grandkids. I also like how Cricket and Tilly aren’t completely naive to the type of person Nick is. Still, there are better eps down the line if you’re looking for jokes or wholesomeness.

B-Tier:

Starter Pack: a pretty cute ep with a sweet ending and a good lesson, the jokes with Gloria were pretty good too, nice to see her get a couple W’s.

Concrete Jungle: another gimmick ep but it works really well here even if it’s a bit silly. That ending though, sooooo wholesome ^v^ honestly kinda feels like an early season 1 or 2 episode.

Coffee Mates: A pretty standard Gloria spotlight, though with some amusing and entertaining-enough elements. Tilly’s subplot I could take or leave.

Family Tree: a simple and super sweet ep about the power of vibes and taking a break.

True Cawing: I can’t believe we have a canonical Goth!Bill Green design, asdfghjkl. I liked just how silly and funny this one got while still having a solid message. Really the only missing piece is maybe acknowledging Bill’s feelings on not having anyone in the family who understands him. Not an excuse to force them into doing things, of course, but I still feel bad for the guy. At least they were able to compromise with doing Statue Saturday with him once a year.

Unguarded: “Wait, you were a criminal?” “Lady, is this a safe space or not?!” Asdfghjkl, lol. Really cute Vasquez spotlight with some good jokes thrown in.

A-Tier:

Iced: Soooo funny, lol. Love how petty and out of pocket that one corndog vendor is, and just watching things become chaotic is a ton of fun.

Internetted: Fun little adventure, even if it’s a bit on the nose at points.

Guiding Gregly: Another great ending with this one, not to mention a really funny and catchy song. Love the lesson of this episode too.

Stand-Up Bill: Really nice Bill focused ep with a fun twist to it. Cricket and Tilly’s subplot is maybe a bit lacking, but not bad by any means.

Jingled: Super sweet and fun to watch with a ton of catchy little jingles to enjoy

Truck Stopped: Fun little roadtrip ep that has some amusing gags and a great ending.

S-Tier:

Handshaken: Simply put… EPIC. Love how over the top hilarious and absurd this one gets with its silly concept, and Bill especially has some great moments here. Way to give him a win and a chance to be a bit of a humble badass.

Chipped Off: This episode is such a mind-fuck at some points and I absolutely LOVE IT for that. Never thought we’d be getting a full-on Joker arc for Chip Whistler but hey, I’m not complaining. The musical number in this is a ton of fun, the reflection scene is just SO insanely good, and any joke involving the sewer rats is just hilarious. Truly an amazing return ep for Chip.

So far, season 4 seems like it’ll continue being a pretty solid season! There’s only been a couple of real duds so far, and while I feel the season has sorta waned a teeny bit after an incredibly strong start, I’m still enjoying myself with it and the show is still managing to surprise me with certain eps ^v^ so yeah, not a bad season at all!

Not sure if we’re gonna get more eps before the movie drops in June, but I’m hoping the rest of s4 lives up to this first 9 half-hours. I have no doubt that the BCG crew is going to pull off Chip’s whole revenge plot and his eventual (final?) defeat successfully, but I hope all the fun slice-of-life eps that we’ll get before that conclusion are just as enjoyable ^v^

alright, I'm going to talk about my favorite bonuses in this post

my fave V1 bonus is Santa. it's just so catchy! it makes you want to dance. I'm really glad my beloved Bass is used in this one. he is so cool 👍

RIP that guy tho. you didn't deserve it homie

V2: Little Miss. It's so good oh boy howdy. the colors in this bonus are one of my favorite combos. black red and white works sooooo well

I gotta ask tho, what were they thinking when they put this in the game xD

V3: listen. they're all so good. I don't think I can choose. like this is why I love V3 so much. everything's so diverse. it's perfect

if I reaaaally had to choose I'd probably go with Sunrise. it's so, idk, mystical and mysterious (I am also a very casual Inca/Maya/Aztec culture enjoyer so this bonus and melody 1 and 4 are a huge treat for me!) and Incredible Polo's voice sounds particularly amazing in that one. and the video is just beautiful

I go silly when he says "over your head" in this part!! ^^^ (I just listened to this bonus again and oh. ooohh. I am getting emotional. Indien's howling in the background. the visuals. all the dudes singing "aaah". my freaking game bugged and couldn't even play the bonus properly, I'm not even joking dkfgjhdk)

V4: very tough choice. both of these are amazing but I might go with Eagle. I just love the beat in it and it looks very aesthetically pleasing to my eyes, it has an awesome color palette. and sometimes you just really want to turn into an eagle and say heck it all...

these make me feel so many emotions. it's a crime that those bonuses are short

V5: Musica. another absolute crime that the bonuses are so short. I love them, they have such happy vibes

also very silly theory(?) time: I like to think this is Armo sitting on the V3 horse toy dkfgjh (I know this could be a V5 guy but shh pls let me have this..)

V6: I'm not gonna be original here, my favorite is Busta. it looks very good, it sounds very good. 12/10. Fire

So Far So Good knew what they were doing when they made this bonus (I'm so normal about Mind and his eyes)

However, Alive gets an honorable mention for being the funniest bonus in the game and having amazing visuals and music.

broski literally said "don't tell me how to live my life" and willingly let himself get hit by a meteor. King. Would this mean that, in a way, Incredibox has two canonically dead characters?

V7: Kabikabi. listen. listen. this one is probably the best bonus in the entire game. it's absolutely beautiful and it's sounds so good it's unbelievable. wow. it gives me goosebumps (most of the bonuses do but shh, Kabikabi is so special to me)

my gosh. the visuals. and I love the lyrics too! this bonus makes me ascend

V8: Zemetekile. Oh it's so damn good. I love Choir and his little journey. I love the faces he makes in this bonus. The music in this bonus is AMAZING, I love how it's soo.... I don't know, not too melodic? there's a lot of clicks and funky lil sounds in this one (I think some of the sounds are made by Foubreak and they're just soo 🤌🤌🤌). What I like about Dystopia is that the beats, effect and voices are just excellent, they create a great atmosphere. You can make an awesome tune without using the melodies which gives the whole thing this empty and hopeless vibe... what am I even saying anymore

Oh and Dystopia the short film? My gosh. What a masterpiece

And that moment in Cumulor when Choir takes off his robes? It kills me every time

This gave me a silly little headcanon idea that all Incredimen are mass produced androids dfkgjhk (I love androids/robots okay)

oh and when his hair moves while he walks?? the attention to detail!! holy crap!! take all my money So Far So Good. they went crazy in this version

V9: Yeah we only got one bonus so far but Flow is so good!! I mentioned it in my other post but I just really love the 80's/90's vibes!! a song made just for me... 💖

a reference to our beloved V3 horsie and the best V4 bonus? cool!! WTV? haha nice. everything about this bonus rocks. I really love the sound in the background, I don't even know what it is, that jingly thing? yeah it's great :) and the percussion at the end? so badass... it's also a crime that it's a shorter one. I really hope the other bonuses will have more loops. When will the second bonus be released tho... pls So Far So Good, I am so thirsty for more bonuses, PLS. Incredibox is my life source. RPG song lyrics (sort of)

Okay, sooooo - as you might know, I really enjoy Critical Role. The DM (or, GM, for Game Master) is Matthew Mercer. It’s a bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors playing Dungeouns and Dragons. What I REALLY love about it is that it’s a group of really, really close friends who are playing this game together, so there’s a ton of joking around, goofing off, and just very enjoyable hijinks. It’s got some language and stuff in it, but oh, god, it’s FUN. :D

And, when the show Tangled: The Series had that very catchy song ‘Nothing Left to Lose’, I thought it would be fun to use that song to make a little parody of how characters/players in RPGs work :D
