Ten Words, Five Lifetimes, One Love

I was inspired to do the "one word prompt-one sentence fic" thing, but I played fast and loose with the rules, so some of these are two sentences, haha. I think usually it's 50 words/sentences, but I decided to start with 10 to not overwhelm myself! I hope to add on more to this work eventually though! :D

1. Luminous Her hair is bright and shiny, her eyes sparkle with inner light. But Ichigo thinks that most luminous of all is her smile.

2. Scorching The feeling of Ichigo's soul is rough and fierce, like it could burn anything, but it never scorches her. The feeling of Orihime's soul is passionate and warm, as the sun itself, but it never scorches him.

3. Bellowing He sees her struck down, and he bellows her name in horror, fearing the loss of his heart.

4. Gentle People say he's a rude punk, that he's violent and crude. But she knows how kind and gentle his heart is.

5. Carefree Even after all they've been through, Ichigo loves her ability to laugh and to smile and to love as if nothing was ever wrong. He thinks he could live such a carefree way, one day.

6. Cathartic When they kiss for the first time, it is as if the weight of years of longing disappears in a cathartic explosion.

7. Somberness Orihime is a happy person, but even she has her sorrows. When her smile fades, he never fails to feel somber himself.

8. Garden When they move into their first house, she decides to make a garden. One flower for every person they've ever saved. It ends up being a really big garden.

9. Crunch Her latest culinary work looks disastrous, and when she lists the ingredients, it sounds like the work of madness. Ichigo has learned the difference between madness and genius by now, and bites into it with a loud "crunch".

10. Comfort Even in the midst of all their troubles, be they supernatural or mundane, deadly serious or minor irritations, they can always find comfort in each other.

The young man at the whipping post had lasted longer than any of the onlookers expected, herself included.  Most of residents of Lupu Village who’d turned out to watch the spectacle had wagered he wouldn’t last longer than ten strokes at most and laughed when he refused to be tied.  Instead, he had opted to grasp the iron ring above his head of his own accord and they could do whatever they liked with him should he pass out.

From where she stood at the edge of the crowd, Lisa felt a small bit of admiration amid her growing apprehension.  The man, more a boy really, put up a convincing front of bravery, but when he stripped off his shirt, she saw how underweight he was and she would wager it was not just on account of the cold weather that he was trembling.

When the twenty-seventh stroke of the whip rent him open from shoulder to hip, the young rogue lost his grip and fell senseless onto the platform, wherein Lupu’s hangman bound him by the wrists and dealt out the remaining twenty-three lashes.  The sound of it made Lisa sick.  As she clutched the strap of her medical kit to her chest, she thought she saw the boy awaken once or twice during the ordeal, only to sag unconscious and groaning moments later, blood and urine soaking his trousers.  She winced at the cry that followed the forty-sixth lash.  Four more.  She clenched her jaw and turned away.  The whip cracked through the air, and there was another bark of pain.  Once, twice, three times, and finally it was over.  Lisa released a breath of air as the rope was cut and the youngster collapsed onto the scaffold’s wooden planks.  Though as he lay gasping, the hangman stepped forth and hauled him up by his dark hair, showing the tormented face to the people.  “Thus unto thieves!”  The ‘good people’ of Lupu erupted into scattered shouts of approval, and just as quickly as they had congregated, they dispersed without a second thought back to the everyday monotony.

Lisa began to press her way forward, weaving through her neighbors and ignoring their suspicious glares.  She took the scaffold steps two at a time and was shortly kneeling beside the injured boy.

“It’s all right, son,”  the hangman, Grigore, said.  “Done and over with now.”

Lisa reached forward, anxious to see the extent of damage the lashes at done, but a hand struck out at her, lightning fast, and slapped her away.  Startled, she snatched the appendage out of reach and was astonished by the absolute hatred in the young man’s blue eyes.

“Get your hands off me!”

So. All this to tell the idea "shimmer is used as a medicine that helps patients in critical condition to survive their surgeries". It's very regulated and Silco's ass is in the line if anyone abuses shimmer.

I also wanted to tie some scenes/lines etc from season 1 to the Alternative Universe. And make Silco a bit more, well, Silco but with the AU vibe. I am also not letting Singed go, he is gonna be helping Silco and getting something in return. Maybe the kids are gonna try to build Orianna her body. Also, whatever the universe, Singed will burn his face. No timeline will save him. He is just like that.

The thing that I love the most about Doctor Who is that it’s just SOOOOOO bad. It’s awful. It’s dreadful. It’s cheesy and stupid and terrible. It has dialogue like “I am the beep of all the meeps!” It’s truly the most embarrassing cringeworthy thing you’ve ever seen. It’s been that way for 60 years. It’s gonna be that way for another 60. It doesn’t matter what kind of budget or fan base they receive. It’s always gonna be this stupid.

she also became rather familiar with all of your quick abbreviations, but not without questioning them : "What does PMO mean?" // "At this point, I know that one!" // "ABT means about?" // "I know BRB. Do you really think I'm that old?"

no matter at what stage you and caitlyn are at she will always keep sending you those chivalrous texts that makes your heart flutter when you read them. they started during the early stages of dating and they just happened to stick : "Good morning, Baby. Just made it to the office, already counting down the hours until we meet up for lunch." // "I hope your classes haven't been too draining today. Remember to eat and stay hydrated!" // "I miss you, pretty girl. Would you mind if I stopped by for a moment to see you?" // "You just continue to take my breath away."

older gf! caitlyn loves to spoil you by randomly sending you money, screenshots of purchases she got for you, or secret gifts that pop up in front of your door. she doesn't think twice when she sends you money or spends money on you, it's so casual for her to care for you in this way. but, it was, and still is an adjustment to openly accept the large quantities of money she sends to your bank account : "Don't worry about it, darling. You deserve it with all your hard work." // "Got you a little gift. X" // "Spoil yourself for me while I'm away on this conference." // "Look outside your door." // "I have your rent covered for this month, love." // "Treat you and your friends to a dinner."

you love to see how you're rubbing off on her in the way she text. she isn't adapting all of your short abbreviations for words and sayings, but she had adapted the use of you "Adorable emoji faces." as caitlyn calls them, even though you try to tell her they aren't even emojis : "Going to be picking you up in a couple of hours. Can't wait to spend the weekend with you. :D" // "But you could also do homework at my place. ;)" // "The office loved those brownies you baked! You're such a sweetheart. <3" // "Work? >:( I told you I'd take care of you. No need for you to worry your pretty little head about anything."

and when you try to send her suggestive text and decide to be risky on her phone, on her internet, older gf! caitlyn is quick to put you in your place : "Don't start something you can't finish." // "You're being a little minx today, aren't you?" // "Mhm. You're too cute when you're needy." // "Where'd my good girl go, and why has she been replaced with a brat instead?" // "A please could get you a long way."

. . . as much as you tease older gf! caitlyn on being "so old" and "texting like an old lady" you find all her efforts at keeping up with you (and even correcting you) heartwarming.

keigo's real laugh is nothing, if not music.

there's a front keigo uses when it comes to other people—a barrier he wasn't even aware existed. his faux laugh was easygoing. it was short, and it was charming. he used it whenever he was talking to the higher ups or his colleagues. hell, he used it when he spoke to anyone. he's never been able to share the intimacy of a real laugh with another person before.

secretly, he was envious of those strangers he'd hear every once in a while. whether it was on patrol, or if he was just strolling into a coffee shop—ordinary citizens, people, humans, we're always laughing around him.

it could be huffs of air, odd squeaks or giggles—people with heaving chests, people chuckling, people snorting, people wheezing—but keigo knew a real laugh when he heard one.

which was odd, because he hadn't heard his own real laugh until you.

you're tucked into keigo's side, half awake and half asleep as you stumble forward. your eyes are barely open—and you're so drunk that keigo can already imagine the headache his poor baby is going to have tomorrow morning

"c'mon songbird, up up up."

he takes off your clothes and makeup, changing you quickly into your nightgown as you talk. you babble on about anything and everything that comes to your mind as he works—keigo kneels in front of you, smiling softly as he slowly unravels your dress and takes off your silvery shiny heels—he pulls on your nightdress, and grabs your favorite fluffy socks before tugging them up and over your feet

"kei baby," you whisper, and he glances up at you as he finishes taking off the last bit of your jewelery. he places your earrings into the little gold box you have on his desk as his warm hands wrap around your waist. he hums quietly as you suddenly place your palms flat on his chest, shoving him

he falls onto the bed with a soft oof! before sending you a confused smile

"shh...let me think, kei."

keigo folds his legs, amusement shining bright in his eyes as he watches you. your hair falls from its updo in wisps, framing your face as you stand in deep thought near the edge of your shared bed—hand on your jaw as you tilt your head

your smirk forms slowly. it's small, sly, silly and so drunk as you suddenly kneel onto the bed. you crawl towards keigo and fasten your knees on both sides of his hips—straddling him as he blinks up in surprise, not expecting your warm mouth to begin trailing kisses up his neck

sexy, is all keigo can think as a soft sigh escapes his lips. he's just about to kiss you back—when suddenly, you speak up.

"are you my appendix? because i have this funny feeling riiiight here that makes me feel like i should take you out." you whisper seductively, gliding his palm towards your tummy and under your nightgown

keigo blinks once. twice. before he stutters with his response. he tries to form even just one word—but he can't. and suddenly, he's falling apart—he's laughing so hard that he can't fucking breathe.

you blink in response, tilting your head adorably in confusion. you thought that was a good pick up line! but keigo's face is flushed for an entirely different reason other than being flustered, and his lips are stretched into a toothy grin. you're concerned for the lack of oxygen in his lungs when he's suddenly wheezing, and god, his eyes are shining with tears.

"oh-oh baby, i fucking love you."

you're slapping his arm, whining and pouting about how he ruined the moment. but your tone—your very serious face while uttering the absolute worst pick up line keigo has ever heard has him struggling to breathe in his fits of laughter

but you can't even try to be mad. because keigo's eyes are crinkling with genuine joy, and his hands are pressing you to his chest, and this laugh is so authentic—it bubbles all the way from his belly, so heartfelt and silly that you can't help but giggle along with him

"it was good, right? are you feeling—heh, turned on?"

keigo's smile is breathtaking. no wonder he's on so many magazine covers every month. finally—he leans forward, pressing his warm mouth against yours in a soft kiss as he cradles your face with both of his palms

"yeah, baby. never felt more hot and bothered... you know, 'm gonna marry you one day." he murmurs against your lips as you squirm in his lap

"nuh uh. who said i'll say yes?"

he laughs again. it's softer this time, and he maneuvers you carefully back into bed. you look like an angry kitten when you glare at him, but he only grins in response as he tucks you in—tugging the soft comforter up and over your body before getting into bed himself. he pulls you on top of him, gliding his hand up the back of your thigh all the way up until he's at the base of your spine

"you make me very happy, ya'know that songbird?"

you hum in reply, eyes already drooping close as your hold on keigo tightens just the slightest bit. his wings naturally fold to wrap around you—cocooning you in his hold.

he can see you're too tired to respond, your eyes are already slipping close when he presses a kiss onto your forehead

he admires you quietly, thanking the cosmos for allowing him to have this one good thing in life. you're drooling all over his shirt, and keigo wouldn't ever wish to have someone else laying beside him at night.
