Give Scathach back to Wada Arco. She looked better when drawn by Wada. At least that way it'll free Scathach from the Aokoface jokes.
Honestly all the "face" jokes except saberface are dumb. I don't know enough about artstyles and stuff to in good consciences say any of it is a result of being bad or lazy but it sure as hell feels those things to me. Like obviously people have signature styles but with Fate it really does feel like just straight up "asset reuse". Maybe that's just because of how much people reference it and not actually anything different, maybe it's because this is supposed to be a series about the entire world and yet you have a person from ireland drawn the exact same as a person from japan, maybe it's because of the plethora of artists in FGO making it so when two characters are that similar it stands out! I dunno. Certainly don't know enough to lay blame. But it never sits well with me.
But design wise for Scathach it could go either way. The bodysuit is dumb no matter who draws it but the new outfits Wada gave were objectively better in every way one cause I'll take esdeath looking stuff over whatever the fuck that MOCAP latex looking thing is any day. But when it comes to drawing the expressions and stuff, I do think the original artist captured the ferocity WHEN THEY TRIED. I fucking HATE Scathach's default expression, I fucking loathe them for that fucking air of "look how elegant and graceful and aloof I am" bullshit. See this?
Tumblr media
FUCK THIS. Things like the NP animation can come into their own but THIS kind of shit is not a "supreme being who is disinterested with the mortal world around them" this is "bored lingerie model wondering if it's really worth firing their agent for signing them onto this cosplay shoot". And it's not as simple as the outfit or the face or the lighting, it's the EVERYTHING, it was INTENTIONALLY drawn that way; it's an issue with how they explicitly wanted her to look like that to match the mary sue trophy wife of a character she's written as. Summer Scathach proves this. Her summer assassin form is drawn by the same person yet has a distinctly different air to it that matches her attitude shift that properly embraces what they CLAIM is also her Lancer's concept of someone who is unkillable but wants death by glorious combat.
Like, the body language is just a world of a difference. Lancer is facing away but looking towards you, as if sheltered off and trying to move on. The body language is meant to convey some sort of "you could never understand" type shit, that tropey "beautiful woman who runs away/you want because you can't have" crap. she's not even wielding her weapons, just lightly gripping them. She's completely disinterested and disengaged, marked by the fact she's visibly expressionless, completely disinterested and seemingly looking at you out of obligation.
Assassin is borderline the opposite.
Tumblr media
Assassin's body is facing towards you but her head is facing away. Her eyes are looking towards you opposite the way her Lancer self is. She's looking down. She sees you as prey. She has a hint of a smirk on her face, because she's hoping you'll be a challenge. She has knives in hand, and is properly wielding them like she's about to throw them at the slightest provocation. She's literally lifting her swimskirt to reveal MORE knives strapped to her thigh; that kind of thing is usually used for surprise attacks, but she wants you to know she has it out the gate. It's a see through veil but she does it anyways because she wants to be SURE you know that she's armed, because she's hoping you'll prove a challenge. That's the excitement on her face. "Is this the one to challenge me? Wait, I can't let them see I'm excited, what if they're another disappointment?"
Body language is SO important to these things and they are not drawn without it in mind for a moment. It's the reason Scathach is intrinsically terrible. Just look at Lancer's FA. It's not a fucking wise, calm, powerful teacher like it claims the reason for her everything is. It's a sexy lady waiting to be claimed as a reward by the insecure incels it panders to.
And to bring Wada into things they ALWAYS draw Scathach with this "hunger" that embodies her character. She does it for Gil too but I think it fits Scathach way more
Tumblr media
I honestly prefer how Summer is drawn originally, even if we take into account that Summer here is just a reused asset. I think I made clear with that ramble that I actually think Summer Scath is top tier design as far as "mandatory swimsuit characters" go, and you cant really fix the MOCAP-fetishwear thing, but Wada at least tried. They look like actual rivets/buckles, a pair of ornate pauldrons, it doesnt look like it was spraypainted lavender, and most of all the expression and as I said body language. The slightly narrowed eyes, the fact her hair flows out but remains perfectly kept almost like a jagged cape, her hands at the ready front and back and tensed like she’s just WAITING for a chance to throw em, the hint of a grin as she bows her head and slightly narrowed eyes that RADIATE hunger. In an opposite way as her Assassin self she’s making it very clear she sees you as prey.
............So....yeah.  I think about these things a lot. For all my constant contempt for Fate Scathach, it’s because I find the actual figure super cool. Hell, both me and my writing friend have written our own versions of her. And he doesn’t even hate her FGO version like i do! He actively went for her! But he agrees just as much with me that FGO completely wasted her to focus on propping her up as waifubait.

Fate and Phantasms #143: Enkidu
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we’re forging the Chains of Heaven and world-famous actor best known for their part in the 1990 smash hit Ghost (they were the pottery), Enkidu!
Our fair enby is a Monster Slayer Ranger, mixing in their anti-divine properties, self healing, and ability to sense movement through the earth around them. And that’s it. I know, I was surprised too.
Check out their build breakdown below the cut, or their character sheet over here!

Fate and Phantasms #Gudako: Gudako
Tumblr media
Happy April Fools! We were going to do Scathach today, but this thing crawled into my home and it won’t go away until I make a build of it. So here’s Gudako.
Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!
We’ll then return to our regularly scheduled Scathach.

Fate and Phantasms #145: Gilgamesh (Caster)
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we bring you the long-suffering king, Gilgamesh (Caster)! Like all Gilgameshes, you’ll be able to throw things at people, but magic. And yes, you will be able to stay up for days on end without dying. Immediately.
This Gil is a War Magic Wizard to weave magical defenses and hold the line, as well as a Celestial Warlock so you can still have some magic after avoiding long rests for so long.
Check out his build breakdown below the cut or his character sheet over here!

Fate and Phantasms #164
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we’re making the Alter Ego of Love and Hate, Passionlip! The bestie with a chestie is a Battlerager Barbarian to make her claws a little sharper than usual, a Cavalier Fighter to make hers the most punchable face in the room, and a Celestial Warlock because her mom is technically a supernatural being made to monitor people’s health, and we had to get the healing part of her NP from somewhere.
Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!

Fate and Phantasms #154
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we’re making one of our most requested builds to date and the final Hassan so far, the First Hassan. He’s uh... not exactly subtle, huh? To make this walking engine of death, take 2 parts Samurai Fighter for some sword skills and magic resistance, 1 part Soulknife Rogue for obscene amounts of damage and an unnoticeable blade, and sprinkle some Grave Cleric to taste, just enough for some supernatural abilities and even more damage.
Check out his build breakdown below the cut, or his character sheet over here!

fuck it. soma cruz fgo servant profile bc i make my own content
Servant: / Servant Class: Soma Cruz / Alter Ego
Origin: / Region: Castlevania Series / Japan, 2035
Alignment: Lawful Neutral(?) “Yeah, not sure how I classify as Lawful given my past life, but whatever.”
Aliases: The Dark Lord, Dracula, Soma Cruz
Parameters: STR (B) / END (A+) / AGL (B+) / MP (EX) / LUK (A) / NP (???)
Class Skills: Authority of Beasts (Fake), Core of Chaos (A), One Who Severs Fate (A)
Character Info: “In order for God to be perfectly Good, there must always exist an embodiment of Chaos, a Dark Lord to emerge from the evil of humanity’s hearts.”
For one thousand years, the Belmont bloodline had opposed the terrible night that Count Dracula would bring with his powers. After generations of suffering, the Belmont’s latest mantle bearer, Julius Belmont, along with their generational allies, the Belnades clan and a nameless soldier, had managed to permanently defeat Dracula with the help of the Hakuba Clan’s shrine magics. Severing his connection to his power and sealing Castlevania, the embodiment of his power, within a solar eclipse, Dracula had finally faced his demise in 1999, prophesied by Nostradamus one millennium ago. Thus, the strongest Dark Lord had fallen, his throne empty and awaiting a new master.
In 2035, Soma Cruz had visited the Hakuba Shrine to meet with his childhood friend Mina, unaware of the birthright he would claim.
Skills:
Chaos Ring A: An extremely powerful construct that channels the very essence of Chaos. It can only be found by the one who can traverse and control the Chaos Realm, the Dark Lords personal right. Wearing it grants the unlimited magical power of the Chaos Realm, but actual output depends on the user. If the Demon King’s Ring is the symbol of Dracula and his reign, then the Chaos Ring could be considered the symbol of Soma and his new beginning.
Thematic narratives aside, it’s a very convenient tool for Soma.
“It’s weird, but it feels like…it was made for me. Almost like a welcome gift.”
[5->3 Turns] [Charge NP (20%->30%), Increase NP Gain (10%->25%) (3 Turns), Gain a Delayed buff 1 turn after skill use (Unremovable): [Charge NP (20->30%)]
Armament Master D: Soma is extremely proficient at using any and all forms of weaponry. Due to Dracula’s vast reach, Soma has a vast number of different modern and mythical weapons and gear at his disposal, notable weapons including Excalibur (sealed in the stone), Hrunting, Caladbolg, Mjolnir, and even a Positron Rifle, to name a few. However, one weapon unique to Soma is the Claimh Solais, an Irish sword of light mentioned in many legends and defining the archetype of “Sword of Light.” It provides a great boost to parameters and is surprisingly light weight despite its size. Another unique weapon he wields is the Valmanway, the “Blessed Wind” that is always ‘cutting’ even when still.
(The rank is D because despite his proficiency, Soma has never had any formal training.)
“I mean, it’s just a sword, right? How complex is it? You can just swing it and things die. Though…considering I have ol’ Drac’s memories…sorta, maybe I’m just remembering it?”
[8->6 Turns] [Increase Atk (10%->20%) (3 Turns), Gain Critical Stars (5->15), Increase Critical Star Absorption (3000%) (3 Turns), Increase Critical Damage (10%->20%) (3 Turns), Apply Special Attack against Sky, Star and Beast attribute enemies (20%->40%) (3 Turns)]
Power of Dominance (EX): Soma’s inheritance from Dracula, or more fittingly, the Chaos Entity opposite to God. The Power of Dominance is a unique ability that grants a complete mastery over the abilities of any and all souls Soma can acquire from the enemies he defeats. All the monsters that Dracula unleashed in his crusade against humanity are the countless souls under his domain, even that of Death itself, and their powers rightly belong to him.
Soma can differentiate between the types of Soul Arts he uses, and this reflects accordingly in his Noble Phantasm.
“I never wanted this power, but I guess I’m stuck with it. I’ll always carry the target on my back, but at least I can look awesome as hell while doing it, I suppose.”
[5->3 Turns] [Decrease Enemy Charge by 1 (20%->50%), Select own NP Command Card’s type between Quick, Arts or Buster for 3 Turns. Effect of NP changes depending on which Command Card Type is selected. This skill is immune to debuff effects (such as Skill Seal)]
Noble Phantasm:
Advent of Sorrow – He Who Severed His Fate Against Chaos and God / Anti-Divine, Anti-Self / Rank (???)
A manifestation of Soma’s power truly made his own, separate from the title of Dark Lord and Dracula. Having defeated the Chaos Entity, he managed to sever its connection to his soul, and be saved from his Fate. Even so, he carries the Power of Dominance with him always, and the countless souls and followers of Chaos always wait and offer themselves unto Soma to lead and command them. In his own imperfect way, neither holy nor demonic.
After all, he’s only human.
(Note: If used by the true Count Dracula, this would be considered an Anti-Humanity NP)
[Type: Buster] – [Deals massive damage to a single enemy (1200%->2400%), Chance to Decrease Charge by 1 (80%->100%). Overcharge: Increases own Buster Card Effectiveness (20%) (1 Turn) and NP Damage (1 Turn) (20%) (Activates First)]
[Type: Arts] – [Deals heavy damage to all enemies (400%->800%), Chance to decrease Atk (15%->25%) and Critical Chance (20%->30%). Overcharge: Inflict Curse (5 Turns).]
[Type: Quick] – [Apply Debuff Immune (1 Time), and Restore HP each turn for self (3 Turns) (1000->1500), and Increase NP Gauge each turn for self (3 Turns) (5%). Overcharge: Apply Def Up for all allies (3 Turns) (25%->50%).]
Bond Lines:
Bond 1: “Heh, thanks for having me! I’m still not too sure about how all this stuff works here, but if you need a monster taken down, I’m your guy.”
Bond 2: “So the rest of those dudes call you ‘Master’? Kind of awkward, but I guess they’re magical familiars at the end of the day. What? So am I? Sorry but, vampiric powers aside, I’m just a normal guy. I was even in University before I got dragged here. I’ll just call you [name] for now.”
Bond 3: “Do you like curry? Arikado said I shouldn’t be using these monster souls for dumb stuff, but they don’t mind. They always talk to me and really want to help me out wherever I am. Except Death, that guy sucks. He’s always breaking into my home and trying to convince me to become the next Dark Lord and to ‘accept my throne’ and stuff.”
Bond 4: “…It scares me, sometimes. Knowing not only what I am, but what I’m very capable of.”
Bond 5: “Y’know…you could always come back with me to my world, if you want to escape. I’ll take you to meet Mina, and Hammer and Yoko and Julius and Arikado and…Hm. Sorry. I know you can’t abandon this world, it’s where you grew up. There’s…a lot of people here who love you. You should always remember that and hold it close. It saved my life when I thought I couldn’t go on, and I know it will also save yours.”
Voice Lines:
(1): “I’m glad this place is a lot simpler than the castle. That place had so many hidden rooms and puzzles that I felt like I was going insane…No, as a matter of fact, DON’T tell me about all the secret workshops here.”
(2): “Hm? What’s up? I’m just relaxing here. Sorry if I’m taking up space. It’s nice to just take a moment.”
(3): “No, no, don’t worry. Even if I could, I’m not the type of guy to just go around stealing souls. I only do that to monsters, and even then, they become complacent once they return to me. I could show you some of the fun ones, like the Skeleton Gardener, if you’d like.”
Likes: “What I like? Curry! Oh, and Mina. She’s been with me for my whole life. I don’t know what I’d do without her.”
Dislikes: “This is gonna sound cliché, but garlic. It just tastes bad.”
Event: “Whoa, a party! Let’s go, I’m super bored cooped up in here.”
About The Holy Grail: “Wish granting? No thanks, I’ve read a ton of comics and things always go wrong. What? Of course, it’s a valuable source!”
Summon Quote: “Yo! My name is Soma Cruz. I’m just a regular high school student. Um…Where am I, exactly?”
Happy Birthday: “Happy Birthday, [name]! I’m so gonna throw you the coolest party ever! I’ll even invite Mina…If, uh, if that’s cool with you?”
(King Hassan): “D-Death!? Why are you…Oh. Uh, sorry about that. You reminded me of...someone. I’m sure you’re a cool guy underneath all that armor.”
(Vlad/Vlad III (EXTRA)): “Huh. So, in this world, the legend of Dracula is just that? A legend? Well, that’s a huge relief. I’m not exactly the kingly type.”
(Gilgamesh/Gilgamesh (Caster)): “Hey [name], could you give me a hand? This gold idiot keeps saying I stole his weapons, but they’re mine! …Hey! Stay back with those portal things! Someone, help!!!”
(Scathach): “Jeez, I bet Arikado will get along with that slave driver. Seriously, Arikado’s method of teaching me my powers amounted to locking me in a room with monsters and a pocketknife. Huh? She’s stomping over here!? [name], help me!”
(Marie Antionette): “I don’t know why, but…Looking at you makes me sad. I’m sorry.”
(Sessyoin Kiara): “Master, this lady is coming onto me WAY too hard. She keeps telling me to ‘embrace what I am’ and junk. I already get enough of that crap from cultists back home.”
(Sakata Kintoki/Astolfo/Romulus/Romulus-Quirinus/Ashwatthama): “Hey, you’re a pretty cool dude, huh? Finally, someone with some style!”
(Amakusa Shirou): “Ugh, you remind me of Fortner. And stop using rosaries around me, I’m not Satan, you jerk!”
(Mephistopheles): “Please, leave me alone. I’m not evil, nor will I ever be the Dark Lord. Just because I have those powers doesn’t mean I’m defined by them. Also, the alarm clock you gave me exploded, so I don’t think you’re all that trustworthy anyways.”
(Beni Enma): “Aww, you’re so cute...Wait, from the Underworld? A yokai? Guess you’re one of mine, then. If you want, I can loan you some Skeleton Waiters for your chain.”
(Any Avenger-Class Servant): “Hey, you guys are kinda like me! Everyone says you’re evil, but you’re actually really nice!”
(Arcueid Brunestud): “Master, that girl is shooting me some pretty weird looks....Huh? Reincarnating vampire? Oh, I guess I’d look pretty weird in that case. That’s not her fault, though. Maybe I’ll go say hi.”
QQABB Deck:
Buster Card: 2 Hit / -Soma raises Excalibur (still in the stone) and smashes it into the enemy-
Quick Card: 5 Hit / -Soma holds Valmanway in front of him, turns around, and multiple slashes envelop the enemy-
Art Card: 3 Hit / -Soma does two horizontal strikes, then a third overhead strike with Claimh Solais-
Extra Card: 6 Hit / -Soma punches twice, does a spin-attack with Claimh Solais, then jumps back and fires his Positron Rifle-
Level Up: “Whew…I feel so powerful.”
Ascension 1: “Whoo! Good job, [name].”
Ascension 2: “This…This is just like then…[name], maybe don’t do this anymore.”
Ascension 3: “Please…stop. I don’t know if I can pull myself back this time…”
Ascension 4: “I see. Well…as long as you’re by my side, I’ll never succumb. So please…don’t die.”
Battle Start ½: “Just how many monsters out there!? In any case, let’s do this thing!” / “I’ll carry the mantle and defeat this terrible night!”
Skill ½: “Bullet, set…Enchanted, set…Guardian, set…” / “How about some of this!”
Attack Selection ½/3: “Hmm.” / “Seriously!?” / “Nice.”
Attack ½/3: “Hraagh!” / “Take this!” / “You’re going down!”
Extra Attack: “Let’s see you handle THIS!”
Noble Phantasm Selection ½: “Are…Are you sure?” / “I’ll trust you on this.”
Noble Phantasm: “I will never be the Dark Lord…You, God, and The World will just have to deal with it!”
Noble Phantasm Damage: “I won’t…Submit...!”
Regular Damage: “Gah!”
Defeated ½: “Mina….” / “Julius…our promise…”
Battle Finish ½: “That was a close one…” / “Anyone need some healing? I have some spare spoiled milk…Oh wait, none of you have a Ghoul soul, huh?”

ive played all the story chapters and a bunch of side missions and tried out a handful of characters so now it’s time for The Official Lance Tainbocuailnge Review Of Fate/Extella Link if you’re like me and were kinda on the fence about buying it after extella massively let you down
tldr; gameplay is actually fun and varied with loads of different objectives and the same servant can be played in different ways so it doesn’t get boring. main story is a bit disjointed and most servants only have a quick cameo but it gets charlemagne’s plot beats down well enough and the silly everyone-knows-everyone banter is delightful. everything looks better, the world actually feels populated, and there’s a lot of care put into special interactions. link will not disappoint you like extella did
the gameplay has much more variation than just press button use moon drive repeat. you’ve got a mix of regular attacks that lead into various combos and active skills with cooldowns. each servant has like 7 of them, generally some combination of damage skills buffs and debuffs, and you can set 4 at once so there’s a degree of customisability to how you play each servant even within the fighting style they’re inherently geared towards. servants with similar regular movesets (like cu and scathach) still have decidedly different active skills so they don’t feel interchangeable. certain moves from servants that were already in extella are generally reused either at the end of some combo or as an active skill which for me goes a long way in still making it feel like the same game, just better
attacking builds moon drive meter, and fighting enemies while moon drive is active earns you np meter. this means you can use your np as often as you can charge it instead of the pathetic One time it was in extella and you can just blow up a whole sector without remorse. you can also end moon drive early with a weaker version of your noble phantasm. some active skills are labelled as class skills and if you use those in a combo against a servant you get the button mash attack that extella had. altogether it really gives the sense of an all-out servant battle
allied servants are much much much more proactive. they’ll actively go out and conquer sectors for you and will try to join you wherever you’re fighting the boss servant. if your allies are nearby more of your active skills will get the class skill property and they’ll join you in the button mash attack. before the battle you also set two support troops, who will randomly join in on your combos or defend you when you’re in a pinch. hakuno is also out on the field, so combat is much more a team effort than before
stage objectives are varied too, there’s field effects, map jamming, hunting down messengers before they can call for reinforcements, escorting allies to specific locations, waves of shadow servants, lancelot disguising himself, robin or lishu going invisible, iskandar or darius with endless armies, drake or gilles bombarding from afar, all often used in various combinations too. on top of that the extra stages will provide random additional challenges so even replaying the same stage will be different every time.
there are four difficulties (that I’ve unlocked) but I haven’t tried any of the higher ones yet so I don’t know what they change to make it more difficult other than enemy level. there are like. i think at least 50 maybe even 100 extra stages to play after you’ve cleared the ~30 main story battles that continue until servant level 200 or something so there’s a lot to do even after you’ve gone through the story. servants unlock by clearing story battles and I didn’t realize this until very late and was very pissed off that the game wouldn’t let me use cu but that’s on me. the money is power system is still in place so you don’t have to manually train any new servant you want to try out you can just powerlevel them. install skills are also still in place and you do need to level servant bond if you want to use any decent number of those
there’s a pvp mode too but I haven’t tried it yet so no comment on that beyond i bet skilled lancelot players are The most annoying motherfuckers to fight against
graphics are a huge step up from extella. reused areas got a complete visual makeover while retaining the same feel. everyone’s models got spruced up and now they don’t look plastic anymore. there is an unreal amount of care put into sculpting karna’s asscrack. the ost actually slaps beyond the main theme this time as well as featuring some ol reliable CCC tracks. everything looks much more polished
the story is somewhat disjointed because of both the large cast and the splitting routes. the story splits up at various points to create an excuse to make different battles but it means a lot of things happen at approximately the same time in slightly different ways and it can be confusing to keep up with what happens in which order. for that reason I suggest looking closely at what path leads to which ending and playing all the quests of each converging branch before moving to the next day. the story seems to go out of its way to be ambiguous in when what happens exactly and how it’s even supposed to follow the events of extella so I think it’s best to look for the themes and the fun lore details over the linear coherence
overall the atmosphere is pretty silly and servants constantly banter back and forth even during tense situations, but it lands the occasional serious moment well enough imo. charlemagne and karl are the only ones who have any significant story focus but since they’re the only newcomers it’s not like the other guys particularly need the screentime. charlemagne himself is a pretty silly and lighthearted guy so he goes along well with the general feeling and it actually works in favour of his heavier plot beats because of the contrast. I grew attached to him incredibly quickly, not in the last place because he gets hyped about every single person he meets and it’s hard not to get excited too
the servants who weren’t already in extella generally get to show up more in the main story than the already familiar faces but most of them don’t have much more than a cameo. having a lot of people just randomly roam around with no idea what’s going on goes a really long way in making the moon cell feel populated beyond the people directly involved in the story so I actually like it a lot. they came up with like 3 different convenient plot devices to give you servants to fight without worrying about what that means for the alliances and it gives room for a lot of cool character moments
a good chunk of the extra stages come with their own mini stories told through the combat dialogue which adds to the liveliness of the setting. my favourite so far is the one where liz and nero try to hold a concert and hakuno frantically tries to explain to charlemagne in the middle of combat why it’s absolutely vital to keep them from doing that
everyone seems to know everyone so a lot of story dialogue is banter in varying degrees of playful versus vicious between both likely and unlikely combinations of servants and there’s a lot and i mean a LOT of care put into specific interactions. if two servants even remotely have an opinion on each other there’s special dialogue for it, and I even picked up unique dialogue for when archer acts as support troop for cu which no doubt means it exists for other combinations too (altho that’s not subtitled so i dont know what they’re saying there i could just tell it was the usual bickering because of the tone lol). some servants have unique win quotes from hakuno, she calls gilgamesh by his nickname ‘gorgeous’ for example. servants will sit around your home base and have a default line to say but sometimes they have lines that refer to each other instead. compared to how barren extella was, link is overflowing with the sense that these people have lives outside the current conflict and se.ra.ph is a thriving and vibrant world for them to live in
there’s a scene where karna and arjuna use their noble phantasms against each other in mutual destruction and it fucking RULES

Lancer
I had fun making this OC a long time ago, and decided to spruce it up and give it some other interesting traits and quirks, and play on the mythology aspect that Nasu has imposed on both Celtic and Norse mythological interplay. After all, very little is conclusively known about either Aife or her son, and its possible that truth might have been deliberately altered by Catholic scholars or lost to history...potentially. The world may never know! This is all in good fun though.
I’m also still surprised he hasn’t shown up in any Fate material yet! Which is just, really weird. Anyways, without further ado, Lancer.
Lancer STR: B END: C AGI: B+ MAN: B+ LCK: E- NP: C
Uncrowned Arms Mastery A+: The ability to weild a wide variety of weapons with almost impeccable skill thanks to harsh training. Similar to Eternal Arms Mastery, but Lancer becomes less skilled when under the effects of Mad Enhancement. Due to being unable to show the breadth of their skills during their life, however, this skill makes it near impossible to determine Lancer's class based on their fighting style and makes it extremely difficult to react to and plan around their attacks, no matter how similar they may be.
Riastrad C: A state of immense rage and bloodlust, granting Lancer the effects of Mad Enchancement in addition to providing additional boosts to their STR and END stats. While in this state, Lancer is near uncommandable and will rampage around the battlefield uncontrollably, but this state is only temporary. However, this skill is not as powerful as it could be, for some reason.
Rune Magic A+: Lancer displays a very strong affinity to using runes, having been taught in them extensively since being a child. Their skill is so high that if they wished, they could spoof being the Caster class for a short period of time if they wanted to. However, they do not have a strong grasp on the Primeval Runes of old.
Magic Resistance A: Possesses an unusual level of Magic Resistance for a Lancer. Perhaps due to his upbringing, Lancer had to develop a higher level of Magic Resistance simply to survive.
Divinity C+: Something resembling a demi-god. Due to his parenting, his Divinity fluctuates depending on proximity to his homeland.
Noble Phantasms: The Nameless Warrior of Hidden Origin: Lancer is forbidden from telling others, even his own Master, of his True Name. This restricts many of his combat functions, making him unable to use his True Noble Phantasm and some skills until his True Name is revealed. The upside is that it is near impossible to deduce what his True Name is, having been protected by various charms and Runes, and even his existence as "Lancer" will be uncertain. Should Lancer defeat another Servant without the others knowing, it may be impossible to pin down his Servant class.
Ring of Aife: A ring of protection given to Lancer by his mother. Use of this Noble Phantasm will inherently reveal his true name, but a primeval rune for [Fire] and [Destruction] will scorch everything around Lancer as if burned by the very sun itself. Lancer himself is relatively unaffected by this Noble Phantasm, being able to pass through the flames without taking damage, but it will impair his ability to fight.
[HIDDEN SKILLS AND NOBLE PHANTASM]
Divinity (Giant) A: Although now mostly considered untrue, the possibility of Norse and Celtic influence on each other has resulted in Connla having the blood of giants in him. While his True Name is revealed, his STR and END gain a + modifier and his Riastrad is upgraded to Rank A, turning him into a savage demigiant that lays waste to human civilization.
Yes, indeed, perhaps the "twin sister" of Scathach was some Divinity from a far off land? No one can know for sure. The truth of the story was lost to corrections and alterations.
Shining Spear of Sure Existence: A spear that shines a bright light. Possessing qualities not unlike both Gungnir and the Spear of Lugh, Connla was given this as a teenager by a wise old man, saying that if he felt his life was in danger, this spear would protect him. Connla never got the chance to use this spear, however, and Connla himself is unsure if the person who gave him this spear was his grandfather Lugh, or some other Divinity.
A spear whose properties is "making existence impossible to overcome" that negates any attempt at instant-death, either through magical means or by manipulation of cause and effect. Abilities that would displace the user of the spear, such as Fragarach, are also made ineffective. A spear that decries by all means that one might fight Connla fairly, through combat. Even if one would try to view Connla's death lines, the spear would shine brightly enough to damage the user.
However, the spear possesses no offensive qualities, as it is not a spear that will always hit its target nor is it an autonomous offensive device like Lugh's spear, just a spear of fine craftsmanship.

First post on this blog for the new year, I do really want to try to update this more. Granblue for the past few weeks was fun. I ended up sparking for Christmas Narmaya and managed to get Vikala from free rolls.
For Fate GO I recently broke my saving fund really hard. I wanted NP 2 Scathach so I dumped like all 25 of my singles and 400-ish quartz. It wasn’t all bad because I got Ozymandius and Frankenstein (so now i have all the 4 star berserkes in NA).
Dragalia was nice to me too. I managed to snag Ieyasu after 2 years and got Nobunaga also. So hopefully i can make time to put more effort into it.

My first 3* Servant to reach bond max, and one of the 4 doggos in Chaldea to have his max first XD
Cu was my sole reliable ST NP Lancer before Vlad & Medusa in NA, and Li Shuwen & Medusa in JP shows up in my Chaldea. He’s definitely one of the best budget Servant to bring along for boss fight... Something that I now miss when he’s not in for mob fights
Why isn’t it tagged under FGO tag, it will contain anti-character, anti-ships & anti-series from my own view. So you’ve been warned before clicking the link to read!
My first impression of him was during Studio Deen’s Fate Route version Fate/Stay Night when he first appears... It’s a good reason that this is not tagged anywhere near his character tag, because I actually dislike him on the very first episode
That was when I was a kid, but it also plays a huge part because as I was an introvert. People like him in real life are the kinds that I instantly know we won’t really get along, as I dislike rowdy, outgoing, barbaric and slightly noisy people. All this was when I was kid, and well how much I changed will be a great discussion for another day!
Anyway, my initial dislike was him being the typical bad guy, since he attacked Shirou. So when he appeared again, it... It took things by a surprise because he went out sacrificing his life in betraying Kotomine and Gilgamesh to save both Artoria and Shirou from being killed
That had changed my impression of him, and when UBW kicks in... I’ve grown to like his character after his interaction with Rin and Shirou when he formed temporary truce with them. Playing as the reliable (somewhat) older brother figure to them while half-flirting with Rin, I really like in both Fate and UBW he still stick to his conviction. Betraying Kirei twice and actually killing him in UBW for revenge of his old master and saving Rin.
Though I must admit, Cu/Rin is one of my other OTP but I don’t ship as hard since my main ship for FSN series is still Archer/Rin XD
Heaven Feels wise, I really admired and find it amazing of his epic fight against Cursed Arm. If weren’t for plot and how unlucky he is, I really did like to see him once where his Noble Phantasm was successful. It’s sad his scene was cut short considering how he’s devoured, but definitely one of the best scene for Part I
I won’t delve much for FGO or Fate Extra. The latter is because I still haven’t watch to what his interaction is like. But the former I’ll only delve his appearance in Summer Event. One of the best and eventually worst one because some writer need to shoe-horn every single men just to focus on waifu on the second part
However, the one thing I like of picking this event is his interaction with Scathach. This event actually to me sort of make up of the perfectly wasted chance that either Caster or Lancer version of his would reunite with his Shishou and/or even fight his fake counterpart Alter. It’s one of the best scene between the two... Which I really hope DW does create more scene between them for interaction. I’m fine with both platonic and romance, considering what happened in their history and how their interaction could went either way, but I really want to see them more together!
Gameplay... I picked him out of tier list reason since he’s considered the best for budget use. Thanks to Honako Green’s video, I ended up often use him after learning the setups roughly to work on him. In fact, he is still my best Lancer I have!
Cu is seriously going to be missed big time on mobs fight... One is because his low cost helps to fit him in when necessary to another Lancer. Two is because like Herc-chan, the reliability in his survival is helpful! BUT THE INHUMANE BOSS AND MOBS ARE BASTARD WHEN THEY KILL HIM!!
Well Cu Chulainn... Thank you for being a great big brother to my home team in Chaldea. Your Gae Bolg will always be one of my favorites in saving me in times of need, but you should be nicer to your Caster counterpart... Or your Gae Bolg shall be given to him permanently

Event Summary
Welfare Servant - 4 Star Saber, Fergus Lily
Something's spread through Chaldea. All the servants and even non-servants have been turned into children after the latest ray-shift.  The latest event-singularity has brought them to a giant amusement park!   Ritsuka and Mash are sent out to investigate while everyone else enjoys their time there, though some servants, mainly EMIYA are less than pleased about their current situation.  After getting to the park everything seems fine, it all seems fairly automated, and self sustaining.  Ritsuka and Mash get ambushed by pirates as they check out the back stage area of the main section. As Ritsuka and Mash seem to finally be outnumbered,  they're saved by a Noble Phantasm from Fergus.
As the servants run back to the main area of the park to regather themselves none of them notice a small glowing light following Ritsuka, before hiding in her sleeve.  They sit at a Ferris Wheel, trying to get a hold of DaVinci before getting dragged into an argument between Gilgamesh and Ishtar.  eventually the argument begins escalating even further, to the point of the kids at the park ready to brawl, before Ritsuka realizes something.  She climbs onto a food cart with a boost from Mash.  She declares that instead of fighting and ruining the park, they’d settle the argument another way, she explains the simple rules to her game.  The servants will play freeze tag, whoever is the last one able to move wins.
As the game begins Servants seem to be having fun, but some see to go missing after being tagged.  Ritsuka and Mash have their suspicions and decide to stop by and watch after a servant is tagged.  MedB saw no way out and instead struck the cutest pose she could as she was tagged.  After a few moments a young man with messy red hair shows up, he seemed older than anyone at the park currently.  he goes to grab MedB, only for Ritsuka, Mash, and Fergus to ambush him, the glowing ball of light hiding further in Ritsuka’s sleeve.  The young man laughs, calling the group ‘would be lost boys’ as he leaves, saying the one girl isn’t worth the trouble.
The group moves on, with MedB now in tow, before running into Nightengale, who insists on treating their wounds from the battle, after a small misunderstanding they find Nightengale’s class has changed like most of the other servants, and her healing was now much more childish and much less painful.
The children continue on, Settling an argument between Nero and Scathatch.  the two join as when the young man reappears and takes not only the Cu’s, but Altera.  They begin heading deeper into the park, which seems to become a forest as they get further in.  Da Vinci finally contacts the group, and tells them the location of the singularity, they’re in Never Land.  The ball of light leaves Ritsuka’s sleeve again, and takes the form of a young girl who looks like MedB.
This is the fairy Tinker Bell, and she tells them what has happened.  The young man is Peter Pan he’s been taken over by something, and has been collecting new Lost Boys.  Tinker Bell explains that Never Land used to be a a paradise for children who passed on with no family on the other side, where they could enjoy themselves while they waited for their family to join them. but one day children stopped coming, and eventually something wormed it’s way into Pan’s heart.  he then lured Chaldea to the park, which itself turned them into children, no servant intervention required.  Tink begs Ritsuka to save Pan, to which of course they accept.
The group heads to the tree-house at the center of the island, where the kidnapped servants are brainwashed by Pan and try to stop the group, only for Altera to snap out of it and help get everyone to the top, where Pan is arguing with himself, as his shadow detaches itself from him.  It reveals that the entity controlling him was his shadow, and his feelings of abandonment twisted and contorted Never Land to fit his desires.  Pan joins the group for the final fight against his shadow.
After beating the shadow Neverland begins returning to normal, with Pan informing the group that they’ll return to normal once they leave, but they may stay and enjoy themselves as long as they’d like.  While EMIYA objects Chaldea remains there for the next few days, with Pan giving them a Holy Grail as a parting gift, saying he got it as a gift from Hook, but he has no use for it.  Everyone parts with a renewed sense of joy and vigor, both parties hoping they can meet under brighter circumstances next time their paths cross.

fehs problems vs fate go's problems? ive always seen fgo as the superior gacha because its writing is actually decent/sometimes VERY good (camelot!) but i know it has problems so like... which is worse in your humble opinion
well i mean you know already i think fgo is a dramatically better game overall… but idk it’s like, fate grand order isn’t an amazing game probably 85% of the time, 15% of the time it’s Camelot or Babylon or the Kara no Kyoukai collab event (which is fucking awesome, by the way), but the other 85% it’s just a pretty decent gacha game, and that makes it really tragic how short heroes still manages to fall comparatively
being real fgo has two really serious weaknesses, one is the really inconsistent character design where some of them are awesome but a lot of them are just really gross and awful; the other is the inconsistent writing, which shows in grossness in characters like blackbeard etc and just the general cishet Bad Anime Fan pandering
and then, lesser weaknesses:
 - the gacha in fgo is really unforgiving with no pity rates and with spirit origins being really hard to get for even big whales - i think you’ve already talked about the good ol’ Sold My Car For Jalter horror story, and others like it - the battle system isn’t super deep and also has some kind of weird idiosyncrasies, like the fact that you can’t see ‘star absorption’ as a stat on servants even though it’s a VERY important stat to understand, or needing to press ‘attack’ to see crit star distribution but not being able to go back to use skills afterward… but some of those things get fixed later in the game’s lifecycle, thankfully
but compared with heroes… it’s easy to say that heroes has “bad writing” (and it does) but that doesn’t really tell the complete story. like… in my case, marisa was a character i had been looking forward to for a LONG time, even saying i might try to pull for her +10 when she was released (she’s a tempest trial unit, so of course i CAN’T do that, but oh well). once i finally got her, though, i really couldn’t do much with her. just… level her up, give her a skillset that sounded good, and then try to use her in any situation where it felt like she might work. that’s kind of all. it was honestly a let down, and that feeling repeating itself across a few characters contributed a lot to my decision to drop the game.
heroes has a lot of mechanics that compare straight across to grand order; tempest trials are like grand order events, complete with bonus servants vs. bonus heroes - but grand order events have a lot of writing and storytelling, commemorative CEs with charming character art in silly situations/costumes, and give away free welfare servants that are almost universally amazing - ryougi shiki, santa arturia alter, kintoki rider, scathach assassin, even chloe einzbern are all AMAZING top-tier servants that they just GIVE to you for free with max ascension/NP level materials. tempest trials tend to give you lackluster units and you have to spend a lot of materials just to get a +1 merge, meaning they’ll never really reach their full potential compared to a gacha hero.
hero merit is basically the same as bond xp, except hero merit gives you feathers, but bond xp gives you new dialogue, expanded profile information, saint quartz, and a commemorative Craft Essence for a servant when you max it out. heroes has the accessory system now, which allows you to decorate your heroes with little trinkets you earn from events, while grand order has new arts for every ascension plus there will be event outfits later that you can earn and put onto your servants permanently, and while there are a more limited number of them, they’re designed specifically for that servant.
there’s a pattern here - heroes just doesn’t really… do anything exciting. it has a lot of the same ideas as grand order, but it doesn’t seem to understand what makes those ideas fun or why players want to play their game at all. there’s no heart to fire emblem heroes. it’s empty and soulless by comparison.
i worked really hard on my eirika, on my lachesis, on my kagero and my marisa, because they were characters that i really loved. the game only really provided my one way to show that love to them: leveling them and burning very expensive skills through inheritance to make them better. pulling for duplicate copies. it’s unfulfilling. i don’t get anything and the game doesn’t really change to reflect the love i have put into the characters that i care about.
you can take one look at my support lineup in grand order and understand who my favorite servant is right away. same for ellie. same for you.
i’m so excited to get jeanne alter’s bond CE. i know exactly who i’m going to Bond 10 after jeanne alter, too! tamamo! i’m gonna grail tamamo to 100, too! because i have that option. i can just pick characters i love and break the game’s rules to make them more powerful. the game gives us mechanics to demonstrate how much we love our favorite servants, and then the ability to show off how devoted we are to them and how much we are willing to invest into them. it fosters a community of celebration and excitement that heroes does not and probably never will have.
yeah, heroes is riddled with problems; pvp is a bad idea for gacha games, the power creep is literally ridiculous, event hero design is bad especially when children are involved, gross pandering dialogue, event heroes almost ALWAYS remark about how uncomfortable they are in their event outfits and people apparently LIKE that, the writing is forgettable at best… but all of those things are secondary to the core failure of fire emblem heroes, which is: it’s heartless. it’s a black hole for you to throw money into in the vain hope of feeling like you’ve done something for your favorite characters.
maybe they’ll get better at that over time, but honestly, i don’t think it will make much of a difference, and i just don’t think they care enough.

Hey yo chaldeluxe! (17 29 and 30 please?)
Fate Grand Order Asks~17.) Favorite Attack Animation? My favorite animations are sealed away in jp atm (Mordred, Atalanta, Okita Alter, Dantes) but as far as what’s in NA then probably Saber Alter and Enkidu with special shout out to Okita
29.) What was your best clutch victory?I already answered but killing the Lion King in Camelot with Mordred’s NP/Brave Chain before she could fire off Rhongomyniad. I’ll through in a second one for funsies but ALL OF THE EXHIBITION FIGHTS FOR THIS YEAR’S NEROFEST! Some of them were pretty easy, like the Hassan and Medb fights but shit like the Gil fight where my lv 60 underleveled Li Shuwen held his own for 8 turns alongside Scathach to give me a win, or @medjed ‘s Astolfo to singlehandedly win me the Siegfried fight, OR DANTES CLEANING UP THE ENTIRE LAST EXHIBITION FIGHT FROM HELL! Okay that was a lot more than I thought I had, woops
30.) What do you want to happen in the upcoming Lostbelt arcs?Honestly I got nothing, all I could even suggest at this point is that any of my faves get some screentime and good writing

FGO: GUDAGUDA Yamatai-koku 2020 CHALLENGE QUEST(SCATHACH TEAM) WALKTHROUGH
Hello and Welcome back to DTK Game & Music, Fate/Grand Order walkthrough.
Here we go for the challenge quest of this Guda Guda Yamatai-Koku 2020
Enemy: - Nobunaga(Avenger) 3 HP gauge
Nobunaga casts def buff since the beginning of the battle, permanent buff, cannot be removed.
When Nobunaga's 2nd HP gauge decreased 0, she casts burn on player's party(-2000HP for 5 turns)
 - Nobukatsu(Archer) 2 HP gauge Self NP Seal since the beginning of the battle, unable to remove When 1st HP gauge decreased to 0, Nobukatsu will change to final form and put buff on Nobunaga which fill Nobunaga's NP gauge to full in the turn after then Nobukatsu will be removed from from battle(dead)
 Suggestion:
- If you have Kiara Mooncancer, it will be easier than this team
- Try to kill Nobukatsu first because he keeps adding buff on Nobunaga
- Unlock & level up the event CE to gain 200% attack up will help you somehow, you can boost up the event CE level by summon the full level CE from friend point.

Look up Scathach's Gate of Skye in Fate/Extella Link it's so different from Skadi's version and apparently has different effects (Scathach's version in Extella actually does damage to enemies too)
whats that i couldnt hear you over my
Tumblr media
Also I can actually tell you those effects because unlike SOME. FUCKING. OTHER GAMES. Fate Extella includes a glossary with fully localized descriptions of what every skills and ability in the game does. But I unfortunately have to boot up the entire game because those weeb gatekeeping purists running the wikis wont include them.
GATE OF SKYE: Scathach's Noble Phantasm, which summons a giant gate to the otherworldly Land of Shadows. Any living things who fail their Magic and Luck checks will be sucked into the gate and instantly killed. Even those whos manage to avoid getting drawn in will still take heavy damage to their health and mana.
From this we can easily infer that a proper Gate of Skye would be an Arts or Quick NP that deals heavy damage with guaranteed charge reduction and high chance of Instant Kill on all enemies that increases with overcharge. Something like :
Gate of Skye B
Deal heavy damage to all enemies. Decrease NP Charge for all enemies by 1. <Overcharge> High chance to inflict Death on all enemies.

Fate and Phantasms #215
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we're getting frostys with the help of the second lostbelt king, Scathach-Skadi! So really we're just building Skadi. There's very little Scathach here, outside of the face. We need to make snow, see through snow, and slap masks onto monsters to make an army. That's a lot of nonsense, so thankfully Divination Wizards are just broken enough to make that work for us. She's also a Peace cleric for some heals and peace. You're all about peace. Definitely not justice, but peace.
Check out her build breakdown below the cut, or her character sheet over here!
Next up: Flip 'er? I hardly even know 'er!
Race and Background
Skadi's part Scathach part God, so that's a Fallen Aasimar. I don't think she really flies around or explodes, but I could be wrong. Anyways, your first level is easy. Darkvision, Celestial Resistance to necrotic and radiant damage, Healing Hands for some slaps of healing, and the Light cantrip, using your Charisma. You also get +1 Wisdom and +2 Intelligence.
Since everything you've done is in service to the gods' final wishes, you're still kind of an Acolyte. That gives you proficiency with Religion, and you would get insight, but if you were good at figuring out people's intentions LB2 would be a lot shorter, so grab Animal Handling instead.
Ability Scores
Your Wisdom should be as high as you can get it, you get a skill that is literally about being wise. After that is Intelligence. You've been around a while, you're gonna be a lil smart. After that is Dexterity to make that evade from your NP a little more effective. Your Constitution is also pretty solid, gods are pretty tough to kill. This mean your Strength isn't that amazing, you are a caster after all, but we're dumping Charisma. This is the underage childbirth dimension, that's a big deficit to work with, socially.
Class Levels
Wizard 1: First level wizards get an Arcane Recovery once per long rest, giving back spell slots with a total level equal to half your wizard level, rounded up. Speaking of, you learn Spells! A whole bunch of them! You cast and prepare them with your Intelligence. In fact, you get so many spells we're not going over them here, but we have a sample list on the character sheet. Pick up the old standards, Mage Armor and Magic Missile, and for the other spells you can generally put them in three categories: Ice spells, divination spells to see through the ice, and enchantment spells for taking control of other creatures. If a spell doesn't fit into that category, we'll bring it up here.
Wizard 2: Second level divination wizards are divination savants, giving you half price divination spell copying, and twice as fast, too. You also get two Portents per long rest. When you wake up, roll two d20s and keep track of them. As a reaction you can replace any d20 roll that happens near you with one of those rolls, spending it in the process. You also learn Feather Fall and Fog Cloud. Make snow to cushion your fall, or kick up a storm to hide yourself.
Wizard 3: Third level wizards get second level spells. Pick up Invisibility for a better evade skill, and Detect Thoughts to track down mortals and figure out if you should love them or not. As an aasimar you also get a Necrotic Shroud, so once per turn for a minute you can add your level in Necrotic damage to one attack (frostbite's a bitch) and when you transform as an action, nearby creatures need to make a wisdom save or they'll be frightened. You're more for the soft approach, but some people don't learn.
Wizard 4: Use your first Ability Score Improvement to bump up your Intelligence for stronger spells and more prep per long rest.
Cleric 1: Bouncing over to a Peace cleric gives you another Spell list, which you prepare and cast using your Wisdom this time. You also become an Implement of Peace, giving you proficiency in Persuasion. Turns out, "I own the world you're living in" is a pretty good argument! Very convincing. That aside, you can give your allies an Emboldening Bond, spending an action to bond Proficiency number creatures together. As long as they're within 30' of another bonded creature they can add 1d4 to an attack, check, or save once per turn. You can create these bonds Proficiency times per long rest, and it lasts for 10 minutes, with at most one bond existing at any time. Boom, allfather's wisdom for everybody. For more wisdom, pick up Guidance to help a target's ability check with another d4, Spare the Dying for kind of a guts, and Thaumaturgy. You're a god, you should sound like one. You're also grabbing some first level spells, including your freebies Heroism and Sanctuary. Also, pick up Bless for a longer lasting Guidance, and Command to slap a short-lived mask onto a creature who can understand you.
Cleric 2: Second level peace clerics can Channel Divinity once per short rest, in two different flavors. You can Turn Undead to shove undead away without hurting them, the precious darlings, or create a Balm of Peace. Both are an action, and the latter lets you move up to your speed, healing creatures you pass along the way. Now you can help out all the creatures you love, ally or enemy alike!
Cleric 3: Third level clerics get second level spells. Your freebies are Aid to protect squishies and Warding Bond to get yourself killed because you're a squishy. You can also Calm Emotions, which would go a long way to explain why your subjects aren't more freaked out by the "Get preggers by 15" commandment you put in place. You can also freeze people with Hold Person.
Cleric 4: Use this ASI to bump up your Wisdom for, you guessed it, stronger spells. Also, pick up Mending. Y'know, just in case you step on a twig or something.
Cleric 5: At fifth level your Turn Undead becomes Destroy Undead, instantly killing any CR 1/2 undead that fails their save. So be careful with that thing, you could really hurt someone. You also get third level spells like your freebies, Beacon of Hope and Sending. We stuck around this long to pick up Revivify though. Now you've got a proper guts, just be quick about using it.
Wizard 5: bouncing back to wizard gives us third level spells.... again. Deja vu much?
Wizard 6: Sixth level divination wizards get Expert Divination, so you can cast even more spying spells! When you cast a divination spell above level 2, you can get back another spell slot of a lower level, as long as it's at or below 5th level. Now you won't have to wonder if you should cast Clairvoyance or Rime's Binding Ice, you can just do both!
Wizard 7: Seventh level wizards get fourth level spells. Nope, still not gonna talk about them here.
Wizard 8: Eighth level wizards get another ASI, and while our spells are equally strong let's grab a feat or two. Metamagic Adept gives you two sorcery points per long rest to spend on two Metamagic options. Transmuted Spells can turn their damage from one type to another, so if you picked up a spell of fireball now you won't have to worry about copying it and breaking character. Just cast it as an iceball, it's fine. You also get Twinned spells, so you can enslave the minds of two creatures at once.
Wizard 9: Fifth level spells. Keep it moving, people.
Wizard 10: Tenth level diviners can see through The Third Eye, spending an action to give themselves extra kinds of sight. You can do this once per short rest, and it lasts until the end of your next rest. You can get Darkvision (Which you already have), Ethereal Sight to see into the ethereal plane, Greater Comprehension to read anything, and See Invisibility, which does what it says on the tin.
Wizard 11: Sixth level spells! And we're actually going to talk about one for a change, since Fizban's Platinum Shield is a pretty new one. As a bonus action you create a shield that follows a creature around for up to a minute. This gives the target half cover, resistance to acid, cold, fire, lightning, and poison damage, and they get Evasion, which makes their failed dex saves as good as most peoples' successes, and their successes way better. You can switch the shield around as a bonus action. So yeah, a pretty good stand in for your NP, even if it's single target.
Wizard 12: Speaking of Dexterity, let's make yours better. This is your last ASI, so let's just round up your score and make you Resilient with dexterity saves. That gives you +1 Dexterity and proficiency with dex saves.
Wizard 13: Sixth level spells! Yeah.
Wizard 14: Your last goody as a diviner is a Greater Portent, letting you portent three rolls instead of two.
Wizard 15: Your final level grants you eighth level spells, so you can finally Dominate Monster like you always wanted. Yeah it's only one masked giant, but everyone's gotta start somewhere.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
With access to extra kinds of visions plus every divination spell under the sun, you've got great vision. And by that I mean you can sneak a peak at just about everything you might need to. Spy on people, keep your allies secure, and stymie any DM who dares throw an invisible monster at you.
You're also no slouch on the battlefield thanks to your freezing ice. Lock down enemies to keep your allies and those enemies safe, or tear it up with snowstorms to block the way entirely.
Portents are really good, and you get three of them.
Cons:
You have very little HP. You have a middling AC. You are so goddamn Squishy, which sucks because so many of your skills are based around being near your allies.
You also have a low charisma, so even if you know where the baddies are hiding out you might not be able to convince your party.
Metamagic Adept is nice to widen your range of spells, but there's so few sorcery points there it's practically a waste of an ASI. Also, most of your big ticket single-target spells are above level 2, so twinned spell isn't that useful unless you need to heal people.

I feel ya on fights it pains me how they're not really popular on this community
Disclaimer this is not professional writing advice its just what I’ve learnt from RPing.
Writing a fight will always feel mechanical until there is a purpose for it, or the characters simply mesh and their abilities interact well and both RPers are in it to create the most exciting fight possible.
For me, that was fight club, where Natalia had a fistfight with Kirei, where Kirei uses his special move (the one where he jumps and punches and shatters Kerry’s heart) and Natalia spends all her mana to block one strike. it was like an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
And legend to legend, in which David knocked Scathach out with Hamesh Avanim after 5 replies. (David had to sling four warning stones before he can truly activate his NP). Scathach was watching the whole time but couldn’t figure out what the NP was in time and thus, she lost before being able to use Gae Bolg.
It’s not like animation, where a fight scene can hold its own based on its movement, so you have to fight with concepts to make it interesting. Which brings us to how Fate/Series does its fights!
The most enjoyable fights in the series were: Rho Aias (archer vs lancer), First fight in F/Z (Dia vs Saber), UBW (archer vs shirou)
Rho Aias is a great example of an interesting interaction.
Dia vs Saber has really great strategy and logic
UBW was a purely emotional fight, whose will could last the longest, and who will break, who is right
Interestingly, none of these are based off how fast the characters move, how strong they are or how skilled they are. Because all of these fights had to work in writing form first, in order for them to be enjoyable, there needs to be something more.
