Oh. Something in me is snarling and snapping. Okay.

Sorry, most of you aren't going to have a lot of context for this because it would take far too long to explain and these feelings are melting my brain. The short story is I made a discord server 4 years ago for friends with OSDDID and just left it yesterday.

I still have a couple friends there still. So I've been kept abreast of the conversations that happened in the wake of me leaving. Because nothing can ever be discussed openly, to the face of who it's about, right? That's a big part of why I left in the first place.

So, some things, to recap, mostly for my sanity. Sorry, this is going to get extremely long, because I want to say all I need to say.

Initially, I made the server to foster a small, intimate community of people with OSDDID. One of those people is someone who groomed me as a teenager.

Over time, some of the people there helped me realize I was in a toxic relationship with that person. When things finally came to a head and that person left the server (2? years ago?), I was...very not okay. But I had people there supporting me through it, and we got closer through the fallout. I am genuinely thankful for their support through it. It would have been exponentially more rough without them.

Time passed. I went from being unemployed to working full time. I had less time to spend socializing online, partially due to the strict divide between our work-parts and home-parts. I began to neglect my friendships, and though we tried--god, we really did try--we just couldn't figure out how to talk more than maybe once a week, when the right alignment of parts were out to be Home and Social in the way we felt we needed to be. And it just dwindled from there.

At some point around there, I started talking to B. We bonded over our shared love of art and character creation. She was welcoming to all of my parts, insisted on talking to anyone who was present. A novelty for me, to be individually recognized and not have to hide anyone. She got me on my stressful days and rough nights--vulnerable times I didn't feel I could share with people previously. We have talked every day for two years.

Resentment began to grow from the people I'd previously been close to. Obviously...it hurts to be told that someone doesn't have space for you like they used to, while they're clearly engaging in a close and intimate friendship with another person. I tried to reassure that I still cared about people, and tried to reach out when I could, but it kept cropping up with different people in the server: you don't care about me anymore, we're clearly not friends anymore, well you can make room for her so why not me. It was almost like clockwork for a bit, once a month someone new would step forward and I would try to put out the fire again.

(The thing is, every single one of these people expressed that they completely understood and sympathized/empathized with my limited social ability. They insisted that our level of contact was fine, until it apparently wasn't and they confronted me about it. So as I was having a conversation with one person with them saying "No it's totally okay that we don't talk much, I still love and care about you sooo much!", I was fielding a convo from a different person who had said the same thing to me weeks/months ago, talking about how I had actually been horribly neglecting them and that we weren't friends anymore.)

Then around a year ago, that person I mentioned, the one I knew as a teenager, created a new account to bypass my blocks, and reached out to me again. Trying to "apologize" for something, the subject of which had me questioning if someone I knew was tipping them off to things I was processing semi-privately. Right at the crescendo of all the other social issues.

Lit match. Powder keg. Boom.

I withdrew hard. From absolutely everyone but B. I didn't know who to trust with their reassurances of "we're totally okay, love and care about you!" I didn't know who harbored resentments. I knew, from past experiences, that there were people in the server prone to gossiping with each other, and I had stepped on their toes by pulling away from them. I mean. That's how we had bonded in the first place--by us privately talking about the person I knew, among others. You know what they say about bad karma.

I all but disappeared from the server, owner in name only. I fought the urge to delete it, and instead promoted others to mods so I could further remove myself. Every time I attempted to talk there, I was overwhelmed with anxiety to the point of physical illness. I tried to convince myself that it was all in my head, that I was just having attachment trauma, that I could sit with my discomfort and everything would be fine. More and more, it felt like the only person I could truly trust to be emotionally attached to was B. Out of 20-odd people, 6 had heel-turned and told me I hurt them with my distance. I was just waiting on the rest to do the same. And waiting. And waiting.

And suddenly, a couple days ago, another server "friend" (I hesitate to call anyone that because it was impressed upon me, multiple times, that I was not being a friend to people) blocked me. I found out when I went to send them a meme and discovered I couldn't. I thought I was used to it, I thought I couldn't be blindsided anymore. But it had been a while since it had happened; I thought everyone who had a limit with me had reached it.

I checked our convo history. Yet again: us talking about how much we understood each other, how we're both prone to isolation, how we still cared about each other.

Upset, I told B, who was also friends with them. Who immediately found out she was blocked too.

So we both decided to leave the server. We announced it yesterday afternoon, and hung around to talk a bit, wanting to leave as little confusion as possible without outright calling anyone out. We knew there were people there who didn't know about any of this going on (I'm so sorry for all the drama that's been dumped on your feet, guys.) We also knew there were people there who had been talking about all this behind our backs--we just didn't know how many. Again, the suspicion and speculation and "when will it happen again" was really what was eating us alive.

We left amicably. And then as soon as the doors were closed, of course people stepped forward to talk about how I had just stopped caring about them to focus on B instead. As if it was that simple. As if they had stopped at any point to talk to me about it (and the ones who did vehemently denied that it was an issue of comparing our friendship to mine with B.)

Caring was never the issue. I cared about people until they blocked me, or outright told me I wasn't a friend to them anymore. I kept caring about people, against my fears that it would end like that again, because it's just my nature to care. But caring in silence doesn't feel like much of anything, does it? I know that. I'm sorry for the way I've made people feel from that. But connection is a two-way street--where the hell were you? B has talked to me every day for two years. When someone talks, I respond. If you wanted me there, where the hell were you?

tbh idk if its because literally everyone had this theory but did the reveal that Zeph was into Amelia fall flat? it just didnt seem like a big secret to me...and Amelia was so apologetic and it seemed like she actually had zero part in it and it was more the ex than anything else. actually I wouldnt even call it an ex MC said all they did was kiss a bunch.

WHEW...normally I hate all the stupid text interruptions but ngl I needed it when Lewie was asking where our head was at. Also I feel like fb shouldve added something about the kiss with Ozzy. I get that its a diamond scene and hidden but if it happens it should unlock another bit of convo later bc it seems so weird to me that he'd ask me where my head was at but not about the kiss.

Star Wars (1977) #05: Lo, The Moons of Yavin!

I have to say I love that title already.

The cover is, of course, amazing. "Luke Skywalker strikes again!" that boy just can't stop striking. Han's defeatism. The Death Star in action, and shooting from two places at once! (And on the equator instead of the dish as we've seen in the movie.)

Luke has to shake off his grief over Ben and get shooting. We get the first instance of thought bubbles in these comics:

Gotta love the awkward recaps. Leia joins in:

... and so does Luke, reminding himself what the Force is:

The narration itself helps out, too!

"Mankind", huh?

I'm not sure how this would work with how the ship's layout is presented in the film but whatever.

Our heroes get away and Leia expresses her theory that they are being tracked. This is immediately confirmed, similarly to the film:

Of course, Tarkin's movie convo with Vader actually happens before Leia tells Han how easy their escape was, and Vader's response gets weirdly cut off; "this will be a day long remembered" and so on is moved to when the Death Star is approaching Yavin. In my opinion the original scene adapted by the comic flows better - and I have to compliment the composition here, too. The movie scene looks kind of claustrophobic with Vader and Tarkin standing right next to each other in a small space, while the comic takes advantage of its medium and puts them in the middle of a huge observation room. (I also like the odd halos and Vader's pose in panel 2, he's so excited.)

Meanwhile, Luke has a crush:

Comic Luke is really into her, huh? Well, it works with what the movie gives us.

Where did the table in panel 2 appear from? Never mind. Han sees Luke as a friend. ❤

They arrive on Yavin IV. I'm glad the comic is acknowledging that the Rebels set themselves up in a once sacred place.

I understand Aphra senior's (is he a doctor? idk) frustration with them. Here, have an excerpt from Doctor Aphra's 2016 run:

... anyway. Back to the comic we are actually discussing.

Leia is bordering on abusing her iconic line (she does actually say it in the film as well; it's really easy to miss though):

After seeing Han off, Luke and Leia say their goodbyes and. Um. That's not a little peck on the cheek, with the handholding and romantic pink background, is it.

The transition to the next panel is really funny though. It totally looks like Biggs is dragging Luke away from more kisses with Leia - where are my lukebiggs shippers at?

"Blue Leader" shows up (and changes hair color between panels but hey, styslistic choice). He's Red in the film and for fun I decided that Luke knows this. The Biggs reunion is a deleted and 20 years later undeleted scene - I am not a fan of reinserting it into the film without the set-up of Biggs' previous scenes but it is what it is.

The leader talking about knowing Luke's father remains deleted though. Both versions are kinda odd to be honest - in canon he just takes Biggs' word for it (although without the previous deleted scenes we can assume that Biggs has been with the rebellion longer that the maybe several days it looks like originally). In the version shot he comes off as annoyed and doubtful, warms up after Biggs' line, and then tells Luke about having known his father - but without the realization shown in the comic. The leader's last line is also strange, even without the context added in the 2000s about Jedi not having children and relationships. What do you mean "original Jedi Knights"? Does he assume that many of the Jedi killed at the beginning of the Empire (which I don't believe was established lore either) had surviving infants? I don't get it.

Anyway, Biggs and Luke have their romantic goodbyes with several heartbreaking lines:

(Seriously, what is more of a tragic romance than two childhood friends unexpectedly reuniting before flying off to battle for their cause and promising to catch up after? And Luke is only there because Biggs vouched for him? "We're a couple of shooting stars that'll never be stopped!" My heart...)

Threepio is unwilling to be upstaged when it comes to dramatically saying last goodbyes to your love:

The lines "skyboy" and "let's get cracking" seem to be comic inventions and I love them dearly.

Love the sassy narration. Perhaps both, indeed.

Hi sweet anon, my bestie @monagasque did a great event recap that you can read up on here, and then this is my tag for the event where so far I've kind of done real-time updates whenever I could!

But here is an emotional recap of the weekend:

We found out we'd have passes of some kind a month ago, but we had no idea what they'd be. Then like a week before COTA, we started getting details and the email subject line said "paddock passes" and we facetimed for 30 mins just staring at each other lmaoooo. We didn't find out what the passes got us until we were actually there on Friday!

It just felt so surreal?? Walking through paddock, pitlane, getting to walk through Ferrar's garage. During FP2, we got to go into the box in the garage with our little headsets and watch them crew work and it was just SO cool???

We got super lucky on Saturday in that we accidentally got in at the same time as the drivers started rolling in, and it wasn't crowded yet.

Meeting Max was the most surreal moment cause I really didn't think it would happen. I met Checo on Friday and he was sweet but the Redbull guys tend to stay in their bubble and it was truly my only moment for Max. He had stopped for a kid and when I went up right after, I was so shocked and nervous when he agreed and stopped that I didn't move closer rip. I was honestly very taken aback by his body IRL cause he's thick!!! And tall!!!

Este bestie and Nyck were super sweet. Lance is hotter in person and was very sweet.

Carlos is a real-life Disney prince. His hair arms. His thick hair. His smile. Too much. He was always in a rush but still made time for us!!

Charles. Charlie babie. He was such a sweetheart. And getting to talk to people who know him properly, they all attest to the kind of man he is and how he's so good :( I love him.

I love cousin Carlos so much!!! He made time for us and kept having quick convos and it was so special to me :') and Carlos' friends were amazing. So hot and yet so so nice and well mannered and spoken, etc.

Daniel was difficult to nail down. Tried to get a t-shirt signed for Alyssa for all 3 days rip. He was always mobbed but we got lucky!!!

Overall, I got pics with Max, Charles, Carlos, Checo, Este, Nyck, Alex, Daniel! But then I saw got pics of everyone else except Lewis rip.

I feel so so so so insanely lucky that this happened and genuinely don't think it will ever happen again and I am so okay with that cause this was perfect :(

I am dead tired! We walked so much rip. I will say the shuttles overall were well done and organized, so I'd recommend them!

May 2024 recap (aka the month I finally took a breather)

Looking back, I think this was the month where I told myself to breathe, chill and pace myself a little bit. Cos at the rate that I was going, I was definitely going to hit burnout stage pretty soon.

This was also the month that I went back on dating apps and also realising that maybe they aren't for me because of a slew of reasons which I will get into in another post. Wait, scratch that, I'll get to it now because boy do I have a lot of grievances.

My Gripes with Online Dating

a) The guys on there are usually quite creepy? - I mean I already have my antenna up because nowadays you can't be sure what is a scam and what isn't (those with blurry, resolution 140p photos are definitely trying to scam). But scams aside, sometime the people on there are pretty weird.

b) Very passive men - I don't know if this is Muzzmatch thing or just dating apps in general, but what is the point of you clicking match with someone when you don't do anything after that?? And it's not just a oh-maybe-this-person-is-not-on-the-app-anymore kind of thing, they've actually seen that we've matched, that I've tried saying hi but leaving me ghosted without saying anything 🙄 As a classic introvert, I do need someone to lead the convo or at least participate in it -.-

c) Men who I can't click with - I don't know if this is a specific M/M issue (I think it is) but I feel like I can't click with about 90% of them mainly because of education background. Not trying to be elitist but a lot of them don't have a degree so naturally the way we think would be very different. I don't think I'm that assertive/liberal in my thinking but wow some of them are super, super conservative. Oof.

Anyway, enough about men. One thing I'll say is that they make for very funny banter stories between me and my colleagues hahahaha.

On to the main programming,

Highlights of May:

I really think I treated myself quite kindly this month (even though work was intense as per usual) hehe.

a) Went on a little cafe date with Jac and Sya (and discovered a new place to study/hang out!). The coffee here was so gooooood. I have since gone back here a few times to study/chill heh. It's also nestled in BookXcess which finally has an outlet here! Books were priced pretty cheaply too.

b) Continuing on with the book theme, I also went for my first ever book event/sharing! Went with Chinyi, who I've been talking to on my bookstagram (definitely being more social with my reading this year and on my IG heh) and she jio-ed me to go for one at Wardah Books! Picked up "When You Think You're Falling" because of her recommendation too. Ameera Aslam's sharing on her thoughts when writing the book and how it reflects her life journey with faith is so real. I felt very seen in that moment - to know that others are also having their ups and downs with faith, how the lows may be really low but what's most important is not to be perfect (and give up when you inevitably can't acheive that) but to pick yourself up and try again. Love that ❤️

Truly an inspiration - I love discovering local authors!

We then went to Penny Uni to have brunch and coffee and wow, it's been a long time since I clicked with a new friend that we spent 1.5 hours there and the time just flew by~ I don't even know what we talked about but love it when the conversation is so easy and effortless heh.

Can never go wrong with Penny Uni's french toast.

c) Went for Hamilton with Fatin! Huge fan of the show since watching the Disney+ version so knowing how big a theatre nerd Fatin is, of course I asked her if she wants to come along too heh. We both loved the show even though it's put on by the Aussie cast (Lafayette was played by a pretty cute Korean-Australian). Fatin even said it was way better than the West End one she watched while she was studying her Master's in London hahaha.

Our friendship is now, what, easily 17/18 years? But it still feels like we're back in secondary school just that now we're talking about adulting, having back pains and bonding over family problems instead of prepping for band SYF, Limau/Linau, and the Kerbaus HAHAHA.

d) Went driving again for the first time! Have to say, Tommy is a very patient and nurturing teacher (tho Sya may say otherwise? 😜). I felt more confident of being behind the wheel again after a long time even though we started with baby steps like turning, parking and changing signals heh. Hopefully driving in Jeju will be less stressful than in Singapore!

e) Started watching Lovely Runner after seeing all the hype online - GAISE THE HYPE IS DESERVED. This show will easily be one of my favourites this year (could possibly be the top show of the year?) and it is just so cute with a dash of heartwrenching pain after all the plot twists it takes. It's about idol culture but not really, quite a bit of time-travelling and second chances, and cute lovey dovey moments between the two leads. It's coming out in August on Netflix so pls watch it and share my joy/pain in watching it too heh. If the first 10 minutes of the first ep doesn't make you tear, I think you may actually have no heart muahahaha.

And lastly, definitely the highlight of the highlights....

f) Going on a short cruise trip with the family to Phuket! I always feel relaxed on cruises cos there's limited activities anyway and you have a lot of time on your hands to just step out onto the balcony, enjoy the sea breeze while reading the hours away. There was many a sunset that I fully enjoyed. Of course it being a family trip it was a bit rocky here and there (which family trip isn't hahaha) but overall, I'll choose to remember the moments that made me zen and help me recenter myself before stepping on Singapore soil again.

Gotta love a Kobo - I can fit so many books of different genres and read them according to my mood haha.

Truly peaceful.

Once again - in the wake of our most recent turns of events (SHH WE’LL GET THERE), working on assembling some choice scenes from the recent few months in Elysium between the Taki Fuego trio, through a series of comics starring all canon dialogue, quick Elysium Drama Update snapshots. Previously - funny comedy hour and banter! But this is an INTERMISSION before returning to the grayscale scribbles - THIS is dialed back EVEN FURTHER…. Allllll the way back to the solemn and serious talk taking place just BEFORE Loki agreed to have a baby with them (it was actually the very literal same convo).

EeL’s deepest psyche re: his deep rooted anxiety and ✨issues✨ are common knowledge to MEEE and Fenixe (and some of you!!) yes, but dragging it all out into the open in this brief window is crucial, I think, to provide some context for some upcoming moments Loki has now shared through his pregnancy with Maci and Tory 🥺 …relevant meme here aHEM.

I’ve certainly written no shortage of essays on tumblr about Loki’s kids in here but in case anyone’s missed those essays: the tragic and traumatic fates of Loki’s (myth!) children Sleipnir, Hela, Fenris, Jormundgandr, Vali & Nari are EXTREMELY canon. and haunt EeL to this day. Even though he’s gotten 4 out of 6 back! Doesn’t change the memories trapped in the story of his past forever! Sleipnir and the trio confiscated by Odin - the twins murdered at Odin’s hands…. And now YOU can painfully remember this too!

yknow. It is always so fun to write EeL’s dialogue but drawing all of this was incredible as well. How do you illustrate the words of someone nonchalant, aloof and clipped and cool, shrugging within his protective haughty shell like “none of this is a big deal, don’t be silly”…. while already beginning to twitch on the inside?

It has been while. To make up for everything, I’ll make a recap of my year before 2023 ends.

Last Dec. 23, 2022, my friends from my work — Ms. Camille, Ms. Jes and Sir JayAr set me up on a blind date. I was hesitant at first but I want to try it out as well. And so I did.

I met John. He was pretty normal at first. But eventually I found him very cute and appealing. He has this bad boy charisma but if you get to know him, he is one of the softest and sweetest boy out there. Anyway, going back sa blind date. So wala siyang idea saan kami kakain haha. So spontaneously, he decided to bring me sa Antipolo for an overlooking dating spot. We went to Maura’s. It was a beautiful place. There was a live band which makes the place more cozy. However, since we came in late na, patapos na yung live band. We enjoyed the food. We talked about our career and random stuff. My friends knew me well na introvert ako and baka di ako magsalita that’s why they sent me ice breakers haha I showed it to John and he found it funny haha. In all honesty, I feel safe with him. I was actually surprised that I was so talkative during the course of our date. After we ate, we went to Starbucks sa Marcos Hi-way. We chatted. Secretly, I started to feel nauseous. I don’t know it is because of the coffee or too much food. Since it was late na rin, we called it a night na. He drove me until sa Pasig Palengke. My goodness! The traffic is horrendous! I was embarrassed kasi home court ko yun e huhu. Pero nakasurvive naman kami haha.

We got each other’s social media accounts and bid farewell. I was so happy back then and scared at the same time. I think I kind of like him na. Haha ang bilis amp. He’s a cutie kaya. But I was also scared na what if hindi magwork — na baka na-off siya sa akin pero inisip ko na lang whatever forda experience ba haha. Another new found friend pala haha. The next day, I was hesitant to message him good morning kaya hinintay ko siya hahaha and voila! He did!!! I was kinikilig haha.

I’d say that it was a whirlwind romace. On December 25th, he openly admitted na he think may spark sa end niya. I was surprised and kinikilig syempre haha and of course, sinabi ko ring same kami hahaha. Ang bilis diba? 23 ang blind date nung 25 may spark na haha. Anyway, during our convo may mga hirit na siya na pakilala ko na siya as manliligaw like wait lang haaa hahahaha hindi ready ang puso ko haha. And then on the 27th, habang nag-uusap kami sa messenger basts nakatanungan na nga haha. To make it short, I asked him for some clarification muna like is he really manliligaw na ba? Do he really like me ba? Kasi sabi niya lang naman he “thinks” may spark sa end niya so technically not sure pa. So, I bravely asked him if he seriously likes me or baka nag-aassume lang ako. And he did clarify na yung spark na sinasabi niya was that he likes me nga. As an overthinker, nasagot na rin finally ang tanong ko haha and of course, I told him din na I like him too pero we tried to have a courting session muna at least a week? Hahahahaha

Moving forward to January, we continued going out. Until the 15th of January, we officially become a couple. Hihi landiii

I’ll continue the story next time. Sorry na tamad ako mag-update ng tumblr. Nalimutan ko na nga to e. Huhu

Anyway, we are both head-over-heels. I can’t explain how much I love this person.

Session 12 recap:

TLDR: Leventis got to talk to a skeleton and scare a gnome who then shoots a government officer at the behest of our anti-goverment party

Everyone wakes up and chats about the previous night's events before heading out They stumble upon an abandoned milling town, each party member breaks off to go look around the town (excluding our cleric and NPC who stay with our carriage) Leventis attempts to loot an abandoned store but doesn't find sufficient trinkets until he turns around and finds a Skelton He bolts over to it like an excited child and uses his speak with dead ring He finds it does necrotic damage to him in order to be used The convo with the skeleton is pretty useless but he's just happy he got to talk to a dead person. however, it did spew some red mist after the spell completed which is something that has been a reoccurring thing (it wasn't from the ring) Our rouge stumbles across two hitched horses and alerts Leventis and the cleric who start heading her way "stealthily" Leventis frustrated with the entourage he has acquired scales the building to get away from them An old gnome ends up exiting the building seemingly throwing out garbage, the others approached him as he seemed friendly. Leventis relays this info to our rouge who has gotten inside and sees two other people Leventis proceeds to stealth down so he can scare the shit out of the gnome (he succeeded) Inside the rouge is spotted and tolled to have a seat, she relays this info to Leventis who instantly scales back to the roof to peak through a hatch on the ceiling (he rolls pretty bad so they do hear him) Meanwhile, the rest of the party has collected around the gnome who our artificer and gunslinger are now showing their highly illegal guns too The party ends up all heading into the building and tolled chris hansen style to have a seat, some sit while others remain standing We're informed that the mayor of the town he started in has been poisoned (by our cleric) and his office was broken into (by our rouge, she only looked through documents though) He informs us he's pretty much the FBI and the gnome doesn't look particularly happy with that newfound info Leventis casts detect thoughts and learns that this guy is pretty shit at his job and proceeds to mock him for knowing so little about him (he's been going by Eros and that's the only name the government has on file atm) He also learns about something called the Boreal, when asked the guy deflects by asking how he knows about that The conversation is actively going no where, this guy wants us to all go with him to the capital for questioning The gnome looks over at our gunslinger, cleric, and artificer giveing them this kind of look 👀 Meta myself, the artificer, and gunslinger were down to get violent. Our cleric wasn't and our rouge was indifferent Getting 2/3 nods the gnome pulls off the top of his cane and fucking shoots this guy ending the session

The current plan is to behead the main FBI guy so Leventis can use his ring again (it takes 2 days to recharge so yes he will be carrying around this guys severed head)

Leven only has 16 health and im not going to risk him being downed again so he will be attempting to finally nom on some ppl in front of his party. I doubt he'll get the killing blow but if he does he will reveal his real name to this guy upon killing him just to rub it in his face and also because its been 12 sessions and my party still doesnt know his actual name

Coffee: It does make a sense, it does make a sense. Tho on the other hand, he could invent this bug spell earlier… He probably had a lot of fun stalking some important elf dudes lol.

Tea: Btw, what was in his mind then, that of all the creatures he could choose, he decided to transform himself into some bug, wtf

Chocolate: Every creature is beautiful in its own way. But yeah, you’re right, bugs are some type of exception. Brr.

Chocolate: Okay! So I think that caterpillars are HOT, because Aaravos is a caterpillar and Aaravos is hot.

HSMTMTS 2x11 Review

Showtime was a good ep that brought back some of the showmanship that’s been missing this season and sets up the big finale. Let’s dig in!

Really felt like covid wasn’t a thing this ep, it was nice to see the big crowds in the theatre and the group singing and dancing. Kudos to the cast and crew for pulling it off under difficult circumstances. 

Be Our Guest was great as was Something There. These are the kind of big performances that S2 has been lacking. This was also the only ep where it actually feels like East High has a shot at winning the Menkies which isn’t completely earned given how poorly they had been doing just two weeks ago in universe. 

Jordan Fisher! It’s ironic that by far the most famous guest star this season was the one they kept under wraps until just days ago. Glad that he was able to be there for Gina and they seem to have left on a good note. Since he’s a music producer he must be connected to Nini getting a second shot at launching her own music career. 

The big brother thing is a ridiculous obstacle for Portwell especially since Gina already agreed to go on a date with EJ and I wish Tim didn’t use but it does set up Gina telling EJ her feelings straight up in the finale. It was nice to see Gina so excited for her date and for the longing stares we got during Something There. Also it seems that EJ knows about the Valentines chocolates so presumably that is not going to present any obstacle for Portwell.

Nice to see Kourtney’s mom again and how much she also loves Nini. 

Mazzara doing the recap and being the narrator was great. They really should have gone to him for tech help way sooner. EJ thanking him for helping him out was great and that phone call Mazzara gets is connected to  getting EJ into a local university or internship. 

Poor Mike Bowen, without that beard Miss Jenn barely gives him the time of day. 

Ricky never seemed that naïve back in S1 but he sure does let his guard down around Lily. I do think her compliments are real and she really is interested in Ricky but there’s no reason for Ricky to trust her. Though I guess it reflects well on him that he’s trying to see the best in Lily. Also interesting that they made Lily a child of divorce as well. 

Howie obviously helped Lily steal the harness, so did he give Kourtney the harness plans in the first place just so they’d know East High would use it for the transformation and then be able to steal it to ruin East High’s performance? Has he been a North High honeypot this whole time? 

Lmao at Miss Jenn telling Ricky to jump off a high place. She’s really losing it. Shining the spotlight on the judge does come off as desperate

Ricky and Nini with their blank cards was funny as was Ricky and Ashlyn saying that they were screwed. Natalie was really funny tonight as well. 

Looking Ahead:

Presumably EJ cancels their risotto date which is why he and Gina end up at Slices and seated apart. Clearly the writers are playing into EJ’s fear of rejection and Gina’s fear of misreading signs which leads into the theme of second chances. Gina speaking her truth will probably include confessing to EJ and likely having her first kiss.

Curious to see the re-evaluation Ricky does of Lily. Does she apologize in any way for stealing the harness? We know she sings Home and I wonder if that’s set up for her deciding to go back to East High.

Hopefully Gina connecting Nini with Jamie will also serve to put the Valentine’s chocolates business behind them for good.

Mazzara probably helps EJ get into a local university or internship and may help EJ with Gina since we’ve gotten Portwell and Jennzzara parallels before. Also likely we see Jennzzara getting together which should be fun. 

I’d prefer if East High didn’t win but since this is a Disney show it can’t be ruled out. 

The Rini card scene should be interesting. Given that them getting back together so soon would be horrible writing presumably it’s closure of sorts for them. Also interesting to see what Second Chances, sung by the core 4, will focus on. Gina and EJ are each other’s second chances at love but what about Nini and Ricky? 

We should have a Ricky and Gina convo before the season ends but at the same time it seems almost pointless, they haven’t talked since 2x06 and neither seem to care very much either way. 

Also wonder what Big Red has planned in the south hallway and whether Howie can redeem himself. 

It does seem like the finale is going to be stuffed full of plot lines so hopefully Tim can do them justice. Wild how fast this season has flown by.

Episode 3 speculation

A week or so ago I made a speculation post about how I assumed episode 2 might progress and I’ve gotta say, save for a TVA break in scene it was pretty spot on, so I’ve decided I shall make another post this time predicting the plot of Episode 3.

Let’s do a quick recap. Episode 2 ended with a bang. Loki found out who The Variant is (but he still doesn’t know her identity), Sylvie bombed the sacred timeline and the TVA is in chaos with units being dispatched to every new branched timeline. Despite Mobius’ pleas, Loki escaped with Sylvie through the Timedoor portal.

Based on what we know so far, I think the episode will start with the TVA building nearly vacant, with hunters and minutemen all dispatched to various branched timelines Sylvie created.

In fact, I believe those timelines might not be of greater importance to Sylvie. She just needed a distraction, a good reason for the TVA to dispatch their units, offering her the chance to infiltrate the TVA building.

So I reckon Sylvie travelled to TVA’s HQ, and Loki obviously followed her behind.

Here we have a quick shot of Sylvie fighting two TVA minutemen that seem to be guarding the mysterious “For all time always” door. I speculate something important might be inside of it, because not only does the doorway look fancy and glorious, but also because we’ve seen this exact doorway at least twice in the trailer. 

Considering what C-20 told Mobius in previous episode, she had told Sylvie the location of the Time Keepers, so perhaps this is where the famous Time Keepers are actually hiding and Sylvie is trying to get to them. 

She also still wears her cloak, which she later removes.

We also see a scene of Loki cautiously making his way down semi empty hallway. He has his jacket (he’s losing it in this episode) and knives.

Since magic doesn’t work here and since Sylvie is a dangerous individual who also possesses a sword, Loki probably felt the need to furnish himself with a weapon so he could stand a chance against her, when he tracks her down.

There’s a reason why they showed us that clip of B-15 taking away Loki’s daggers and also showing us the exact locker she put them in. Loki will probably make a quick trip to that locker room, steal back his daggers and go on a hunt for Sylvie.

We also see an unconscious or dead minuteman in this clip, meaning Loki is hot on Sylvie’s trail.

We also see a quick clip of Ravonna and two Minutemen, facing....probably Loki. I assume Loki had the misfortune and instead of Sylvie ran into Ravonna. I think Ravonna suspected Sylvie’s plan and stayed behind to protect the Time Keepers.

Loki, probably both annoyed because Ravonna and co stopped him in his pursuit of Sylvie and also anxious because he fears they will try to put the entire blame on him and reset him probably tries to fight her, but alas, it doesn’t end well for him

She doesn’t reset him, maybe because she has bigger fish to fry - Sylvie. She’s probably aware if Loki’s here, then that means Sylvie’s here too and out of the two of them, Sylvie is the dangerous one.

Idk if she knocks him out or if he gets capture by the TVA at this point.

Perhaps even these two scenes happen in the beginning of this episode while Sylvie’s infiltrating the TVA

Ravonna is clearly attacking someone and Mobius is not only holding his dIsiNtEgRaTiOn StIcK but also looks pretty dishevelled himself.

Anyway, I don’t exactly know yet how Loki and Sylvie escape this situation. I reckon Sylvie’s plain to reach the Time Keepers failed as Ravonna and company stayed in the building. She probably escapes somehow.

As for Loki. He either escapes with Sylvie or gets captured again and has to explain himself for why he left - perhaps B-15 can also vouch for him that he DID NOT hurt her.  Perhaps the TVA give him one last chance to prove himself and greedily Loki takes it, because he now WANTS to find Sylvie because he’s both intrigued and confused who that woman is.

At this point I don’t know which scene happens first. Loki in the quarry or Loki in a bar on a train.

There’s a scene of Loki in a quarry running away from a meteorite shower. It will definitely happen in this episode as he still has his jacket.

There’s also a scene of Loki having a blast and partying with a bunch of people on a moving train.

He genuinely seems to be having a great time. Good for him. But the fun doesn’t last for too long as a fight breaks out.

And Loki is finally using his magic! NEATO

At one point he’s also talking to...himself. i reckon this is a different Loki, because our TVA Loki is still pretty much married to that TVA outfit.

He’s not wearing a turtleneck sweater. He’s wearing the outfit of those guards or figures of authority that he’s fighting with in this scene.

Whatever happens it doesn’t really work out that well for our TVA Loki as he gets thrown out of  moving train. RIP Lokes.

Just kidding.

Now there’s a huge possibility that the quarry meteorite shower and Loki running away from it happens after this scene, when Loki crash lands on the ground. And I’m personally leaning towards that option as well as Loki’s clothes seem much cleaner in the ‘party’ scene.

I don’t know if this scene of Loki and Sylvie walking together amid meteorite shower happens after this or not, but I reckon it happens either in this episode or at the beginning of episode 4.

Sylvie is still wearing her cloak after all.

I speculate that this is the episode where Loki finally ditches his jacket for good. 

There’s a quick blink and you miss it scene of Sylvie running through foggy chaos and if you take a closer look you can identify that the figures approaching her (on the left of the pciture) are the same figures of authority Loki’s been fighting with on that train, indicating that this is all happening on the same planet/time.

Even the typography is the same.

So I suppose it’s the same place.

Anyway, Sylvie’s in this place somewhere and Loki is still trying his best to find her. He wants to find her. He NEEDS to find her.

So his jacket is already missing, but his upper right arm is still not injured.

I’m not yet entirely sure how the episode will end, because it seems like it’ll be quite an eventful one, but there’s a chance this quiet, emotional scene between Loki and Sylvie happens either at the end of episode 3, or at some point in episode 4. Loki’s arm is still not injured after all.

Sylvie has removed her cloak and is now waiting for Loki to approach her. Loki does so and sits down next to her.

What’s interesting here is that even though it’s a blink and you miss it moment, the way they’re sitting, their body language...I see no hostility between them. In fact, Loki’s body language seems to indicate he’s comfortable with her.

No idea what they’re talking about, but whatever this scene is...I have a feeling it’s gonna be an emotional one.

At some point their convo is either over or interrupted by the Timedoor portal. Either Sylvie opened it, or someone found their hiding place.

Either way, based on the lighting, rocks, overall aesthetic...it’s the exact same place.
