pairing: ot5 txt x musicals summary: god. idek where to begin. txt as musicals. word count : 0.6k im actually so sorry i even wrote this wow what was i thinking. if you dont know these songs LISTEN TO THEM.
Tumblr media
yeonjun : heathers / mean girls there is also a tiny dash of moulin rouge in him
it boy energy is so reflected throughout BOTH
i’m sorry
definitely a candy store guy
he 100% cracks corny jokes like in stupid w/ love
but the amazing theatricality???
the vocals????
SO yeonjun
and ikik abt the soobin meangirl meme but like
lets be real
jjunie just has that energy
and not in a bad way
like in a 'yeonjun told me to dye my hair purple so i did!' way
and when i say heathers i don't mean the negatives
like that musical is fucked up
i mean the level of iconic-ness (?)
sassy man apocalypse fr
"i like looking hot buying stuff they cannot :3" - yeonjun (definitely)
soobin : six
...
i'm actually so sorry for this one!
he competes with himself, that much is obvious
soobin seems like the type to really question if he deserves something - if his suffering was enough
he's the type to compare past suffering to current
like 'well i suffered back then and i turned out fine, i'm not any more important for suffering now' type of stuff
he's the leader, its his job to be the strongest
and he lets himself have some fun
(i mean his first [?] scandal was him showing his middle toe.)
or he could be super serious like the great leader we all know he is
or he's just a total mess, but yet still so strong ??
hes admirable
he's in the history books fr
beomgyu : hamilton
the perfect balance of chaos and serious
i mean he's literally "lock up your daughters and horses!"
while also being "mom i'm so sorry for forgetting what you taught me"
beomgyu was written by lin manuel miranda argue with a wall
its also just so interesting, like gyu
like you could study both hamilton and gyu
a fan favourite
you can't go wrong with hamilton
and you can't go wrong with gyu
hamilton has its… fans
and gyu has his bamtoris
both would doxx you if you speak ill of their favs
the gateway into the community
like gyu was the first member i found out about
and hamilton was the first musical i liked
you dip your toes in, and next thing you know you just spent $25 for some merch
taehyun : hadestown
it’s so sad
yet serene and passionate like tyun
i mean, just look at him
those eyes - that smile!!
boba eyes :3
also, he so was a greek mythology kid
probably bought every percy jackson book / related piece of media when it came out
he knows everything
theres just something so tyun about it all
hadestown is a musical you might not know about
but the second you do you're like "wow wtf i was missing out on literally everything good in this world"
and that's literally tyun too
like if you somehow don't know about vocal king taehyun
the moment you find him obsession forms
or at least in my case
my little tyun🤧
i could see him staring in the mirror going "who are you? who do you think you are"
hueningkai : be more chill (bmc)
you can not tell me this boy didn't have some sort of issue making friends
the photos of him sitting alone at lunch (?) pre-debut???
hes so jeremy heere
because he's really just a sweetie
but no one notices him besides his very close friends
definitely would almost accidentally take over the state of new jersey
type of boy to go all the way if he likes a person
im talking joining the same clubs as them
and even joining the friend group they're in
all of it
we all know he used to think so poorly of himself and talk down on himself
like he had those voices in his head
has his michael in the bathroom moments
thinks he's a loner, a loser, a freak
you know the usual high school insults
but he's able to grow confident, with some help
i luv hueningkai ;3
and i luv be more chill
Tumblr media
authors note : i lied this is not based off of making the bed. my bad. whoops. maybe next time!

Hi! I hope you've had a good week and weekend. I am not as stressed as before like a few months ago and I think things are going to get better compared to the last month. It's mainly just been lonely I think cuz my sister hadn't been living with me. Omg that's fun..what shows are you going to see? It's so hard to choose lol. You'll have to let me know how they are.
Oh ya last year's Tony's I didn't watch either because I didn't have an antenna but I had one for this year. I still missed parts of the opening though and drank while watching. Oh no... that's an awful time to get it cuz it probably ruins the memory. I remember listening to the cast album of Pretty Woman before..maybe once but that's about it. What did you think of the show if you remember? It does not seem like a show you would want to go to based on some musicals you like lol but I hope it was okay. You can always share some more stories with me! :) I can't remember what else he's been in besides Company though.
Honestly the Cabaret performance was fine to me but you're right about it being polarizing and I'm not sure why. I honestly think that's just how the character of the Emcee is supposed to be. I really like Joel Greys and Alan Cummings versions but I like that he at least tried something a little different. I wonder how he interprets some other parts based on knowing the show. Oh I hope you are able to see The Notebook again on your trip. I heard about the Merrily proshot and am excited and think it's great. It will probably be better than the movie musical they're making at least. I don't know much about the musical but also don't know how to feel about it. I think they cast Paul Mescal and I'm not even sure he can sing lol but I don't remember too much about it. Except they are filming it over 20 years..which is something that could be cool or just off and not translate on screen so idk. What do you think about it? I can't really have an opinion cuz I'm not as familiar with the show and only know two songs I think. I don't know when I will watch the show but I would definitely wanna watch the proshot.
I am still listening to Broadway stuff for now so I am a little behind. I've listened to Outsiders, Hells Kitchen, Stereophonic and Suffs so far. I love Outsiders and Stereophonic. Stereophonic is just the kind of music I like and the Outsiders music fits the story pretty well. I am also biased because of the story haha, but idk if I would recommend it without knowing it. Like there was one part that they didn't have a song about and idk if I would've known about it without knowing it. So in that way it made me miss watching bootlegs! I wish I could watch a bootleg of this one specifically cuz it has a lot of cool effects, but I honestly don't know much about finding bootlegs anymore unless it's random. I mostly see full audio bootlegs with dialogue but eh. I think I saw a Lempicka video come up on my YouTube page so I might be able to watch it and then listen to the cast album which is what we used to do lol. Same with Hells Kitchen..I think I kinda was able to follow it but it' would be more fun to watch in my opinion..oh well. Suffs was one that I just let play and actually couldn't follow the story as much and was just paying attention to the music first so idk. I know a lot of people wanted it to win best musical over Outsiders but it didn't exactly impress me, but the plot is probably not for me either. I still have to listen to the Notebook, Water For Elephants, Illinoise, and yes, Gatsby..if only for Jeremy and Eva, so I'll let you know what I think. I've also listened to a few songs from Spring Awakening, and Sunday, and West Side Story this week. I realized how similar The Outsiders is to West Side Story mixed with like Newsies. I love the new url too haha.
I will definitely check out the updates. I always love your new recommendations. I definitely plan to listen to those albums maybe sometime this week. I have heard the song featuring Taylor and enjoyed it and they performed it live. I loved Taylor playing the mashup of the Lakes and I Hate It Here especially. I think she's just okay honestly..maybe because she's a nepo baby, but I did enjoy her last album. I heard a few of Charli's singles but it seems there's more production compared to her last album and idk what to think yet. I loved your album! What did you think of the albums? I hope you have an amazing week too and hope things are getting better in case they've been stressful or hard lately.
hi friend!!! happy july! i hope yours is off to a good start! do you have anything fun planned this month? i'm glad things are getting better or are a little more manageable!
i've currently only got tickets to see moulin rouge, but will be buying my stereophonic tickets soon hopefully! i think i'll go see the notebook if it's still open when i'm there (hopefully it is!) but am unsure if i want to also do a saturday matinee or if i'd rather just go see friends and go places! i just never have enough time in the city and i feel like there's not a whole lot on broadway that i want to see right now — if i wasn't going to see wicked on tour in november, i'd probably finally go see it on broadway! and same with back to the future; it's coming in december, i'm likely going to see it in december, i don't particularly mind waiting to see it. anddd the same with both six, and & juliet — they're both part of the upcoming season so i don't feel a huge desire to go see them!
i don't have an antenna either! i got a free showtime subscription i think? to watch it this year and in the past years i've just 🏴‍☠️d it haha. that was actually my second time seeing it! i saw it on broadway with the original cast in march 2019 — i think i liked the broadway cast more than the tour (the guy who played edward came across much older than vivian and they had very little chemistry and just felt very ... awkward and creepy haha) but i didn't love it by any means! just a fun night, which is fine!
ooh okay my favorite matt doyle story <333 he came to seattle to do an out of town tryout for a show called jasper in deadland (terrible show that i love love love dearly, saw it three times) and he was just the nicest, loveliest person at stagedoor (even though he was not having a good time here in seattle). just so so sweet. one of my friends loved the show and saw it 8 times and in jasper, his character has a little ... alter ego-y persona with a different voice and so i asked if he'd record a video in that voice saying happy birthday to her and he did and was sooo sweet about it. he was also in book of mormon and sweeney todd off-broadway for a hot minute!! and little shop! and he was in gossip girl haha.
i wonder if people would like cabaret more if they cast ... a stronger ... singer... ? it's really interesting to see how a lot of shows that do really well on the west end aren't necessarily received very well here and vice versa. like this production of cabaret is SO well-received there! and yes! they cast paul mescal, who can sing fine —here's a clip of him singing stars from les mis from back in the day! i think it's interesting they're filming over 20 years but also am worried about ... it taking 20 years? if that makes sense? like it's cool, sure, but ... will it work out? will everyone stay committed? will everyone still be available? just feels like a logistical nightmare... how is this being funded? etc.
i'm soooo excited to see stereophonic !!! ahhh !!!!! it's one of the main reasons i decided to take this trip (vs. going next season)! i'm happy to help you find bootlegs — just send me a message off anon/over dms hehe <333 i haven't listened to hells kitchen yet, but i want to soon! did you watch / do you watch the jimmys awards? i watched them the other day and was sooooo impressed by how talented everyone was! i am actually not a fan of suffs haha. my best friend loves it and keeps trying to get me to get into it but i ... do not want to! it's just not my thing! and thank you for the url compliment :") wait have you ever listened to spring awakening in full? i love it a lot but it's also quite heavy so please take care of yourself when listening!
i just watched spring awakening like two weeks ago in person and the production was .... not great !!!!!!! but i still love the show so dearly. i'm glad i went. even if that production was ... something. and yay!! i'm so glad you like my recommendations 🥺 i always love hearing yours as well and hearing from you! i really loved brat, and i do think the secret of us is growing on me but not my favorite gracie album! my favorite of hers is still minor, and then this is what it feels like and then good riddance!
hope you're doing well and staying safe my friend <3333 and staying cool!

12/7/23: It was 50 years ago today, December 7th, 1973, Emerson, Lake & Palmer would release their fifth album Brain Salad Surgery. Of today's trio of Prog records, this one is by far the best IMO. Kind of EL&P's magnum opus (unless you count Tarkus... questionable) as the multi-part 'Karn Evil 9' stretches across both sides of the record. Honestly, if you really want to educate someone on Progressive Rock this may be one of the most representative records of the entire, sprawling genre. You have two covers right off... first, poem 'And Did Those Feet In Ancient Time' by English poet William Blake in 1806, with music added a hundred years later by Hubert Parry, known better today as 'Jerusalem'; second, you have 'Toccata' which was from piano concerto by Argentine composer Alberto Ginastera (in 1961). Straight up, pretentious-ass covers of non-Rock music... and honestly they're both outstanding songs. I mean, once you hear 'Jerusalem' two or three times (at least the EL&P version) you start wailing along with Lake... it's just beautiful, and a perfect album starter. 'Toccata' is somewhat similar to 'Tank' from the first album... just blasting you with Classical music done by a Rock Trio; then you get to the bizarro pinball noises and proto-DNB sounds about five minutes in by Emerson... it's nuts, just nuts. Phew! Then you get the one Lake ballad on the record (I believe he is the only one of the three playing on it) 'Still... You Turn Me On' which didn't crack the U.S. Top 40, but was (is?) a big Classic Rock song. I don't think it's as good as 'Lucky Man' or 'From the Beginning', also Lake softer tunes on previous albums, but definitely mix-worthy. Even the goofy-ass Pete Sinfeld-penned tune 'Benny the Bouncer' is a ton of fun... again, another pattern across records, fast little ditties... little piano or keyboard ditties... like 'Jeremy Bender' and 'The Sheriff', these tunes are kind of breathers in between all the pomp and circumstance. Then we get to the big boy, the big one--'Karn Evil 9' which is divided like this: end of first side is 'Karn Evil 9 (1st Impression, part one)', then entire second side is 'Karn Evil 9 (1st Impression, part two)', and then 2nd Impression and 3rd Impression (I'm not writing that shit out again). The part that just about every good Classic Rock listener knows is the five minute '1st Impression (part two)'... this is the one that starts out "Welcome Back My Friends, to the Show That Never Ends!!" This song may very well be the most memorable thing for some EL&P casual listeners, as it has the highest Spotify-play from this album and fourth for the band overall. Unlike the songs on the first side, this is a major Prog workout... like 'Starship Trooper' by Yes... you know, long, sudden changes, musical showmanship, great melody. I do love part two, but really part one is better... it is very similar in sound to part two but it's almost twice as long. If you've read this far and you've not heard '1st Impression (part one)' then stop reading and go play the fucking song, beginning to end. I mean you can even connect both 1st impressions if you want to, but it's not necessary. The '2nd Impression' is mostly a spare piano version of the 1st Impression, along with some crazy percussion and Moog parts that, like Toccata, might be mistaken for some '90s DNB (okay, probably not, but it's still wild). '3rd Impression' is probably the worst song on the album, but it's still very good... kind of a re-hash of the first parts, but worth listening to at least once, especially the headphones experience at the very end. Wow, what a great record. I used to like Trilogy best, but maybe this album is superior after all. Overall an excellent experience. This album ain't for everyone, but every good boy that loves Prog should at least know this record, front to back, back to front. Also, a killer album cover that acted as a triptych when opened. Cool!

There's a lava lamp somewhere in the house, I can say this for a fact! It's probably a blue one that Jeremy had and just wouldn't get rid of because it was a gift from Michael when they were teens/young adults and now Jeremy takes it into rooms he just wants to chill in
He will just stare at it while listening to music and zone out. Like those baby sensory videos it distract him very well (So do the baby sensory videos but he claims he only watched them because you or Michael put them on for him and didn't wanna be rude)
(kinda/pretty angsty part here)
Jeremy definitely knows what has been happening at faz bears considering he used to be an employee and Mike told him everything. Both him and Mike refuse to tell Y/N because they don't want them worrying or getting dragged in somehow. Which as you can imagine can cause some trouble when Mike comes home after a shift and he's still full of adrenaline from barely escaping. Mike will hold onto either one of you say work was hell but not give any details but Jeremy knows and fears everytime Mike comes home from a shift. Jeremy wants to go back to faz bears to work with Mike and help but Mike won't let him cause he can't loose Jeremy just like he can't loose you which does cause a fight but they resolve it pretty fast cause they can't let this hurt them more
(okay angst over here's some fluff to help feel better!)
Jeremy getting really into DnD or TTRGs and constantly asking you and Mike to join in which obviously when he's pulling puppy eyes you can't say now. Jeremy would most definitely play a Elf bard/range while Mike would probably really like playing a half-orc barbarian/cleric (which is kinda a funky combo but goes well with Mike!) Jeremy would even go out and buy you two your own personal dice that he thinks matches you two. Even if you don't play again it'll still be one of his favorite memories of y'all
Ok doing this one in three separate parts, just because I have so much i want to say about each
You've always wondered about the lava lamp, not because the lamp itself is special, but because of how attached to it Jeremy was. You never really knew how to ask about it, until one night you and Jeremy were sitting quietly in your living room, you were reading and he was sitting there watching the lamp as he often did. You just glanced up, and noticed Jeremy smiling softly at the lamp and curiosity finally got the better of you as you asked aloud, "Where did you get that lamp? I'm just curious because you look at it more fondly than me sometimes."
Jeremy laughs, as his smile widened, and looks away from the lamp, and over at you. "Michael got it for me. I....you know how a bunch of always used to hang out at his dad's diner? Well I always would stare at it behind the prize counter. It was like over 1,000 tickets or something, and Michael noticed how often I looked at it..... at first when he handed it to me on my 17th birthday after school I thought it was a joke, thought he'd stolen it, so I tried to give it back not wanting him to get in trouble, but Mikey just got all flustered and crossed his arms, trying to keep that 'tough' persona he thought he had back then, and he told me that he'd saved up tickets for months to get it for me....its my favorite gift I've ever recieved."
---------------------
You know there's something that Jeremy and Michael are hiding from you, and you know that it has to do with Michael's work. Michael never tells you fully what he does, no matter how hard you pry when you comfort him after he comes home shaken up and obviously coming down from some kind of adrenaline high. But Jeremy seems to know... and understand. You can see it in the way Jeremy is able to comfort Michael better than you on the worst days, you just can assume its because they both know, they both have a shared knowledge that they refuse to share with you.
It hurts, being left in the dark, having secrets kept from you by the two people you love the most in the world. Somedays it feels like there is a rift between you and Michael and Jeremy. Like they'll always have a slightly closer bond that you'll never be able to understand.
At times you can hear them fighting about it. Always whispered yelling, never loud enough to quite understand, always dissipating when you walk into the room. Rhe only words you've ever been able to catch were Jeremy's, saying "Let me come back, help you so you aren't being hunted alone!"
You know the topic hurts Michael, he always looks so pained when you walk in on the fights. So you don't bring it up, instead you act oblivious, smiling and changing the subject. You act blissfully unaware like you ddnt know they'd been fighting. But deep down you hurt for both boys.
-------------------
Since Jeremy had finally convinced you and Michael to try out DnD it had become a little bonding activity the three of you would do every Sunday. You'd all rotate on who was DM each month, usually sticking to smaller campaigns, though you all seem to stick with the same characters until they were killed, getting attached to them easily. Sundays were one of your favorite nights, even if you weren't totally obsessed with the game like Jeremy, you still enjoyed it if only because it was perfect for spending time with the boys.

Could we get another you don't have to read but it's interesting text post?? 👉👈
omg i hope this is what you meant, but umm here’s some backstory about griffin’s roommates? because even my nameless extras apparently need deep lore in my mind?? fjkjsd
TW: mentions of drug addiction, homelessness, religion, abuse, and biphobia. + me not being able to stop talking ever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
jeremy; 19. gay. [also the guy from this post.] jeremy grew up smack in the middle of the bible belt. his parents wanted him to grow up and be a pastor like all the generations before him. he was a model child and no one expected him to run away, so his parents actually thought he was kidnapped when, on a random tuesday, he left in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on his back. the police found him wandering towards the bus stop just a few hours later and dropped him back at home. everyone then repeated the same cycle again and again for years, before jeremy’s parents got fed up and agreed to legally emancipate him if he agreed to just stop embarrassing their family. he finally hit the road on his own when he was 15.
he met griffin at a train station out west a while later. griffin had just left his aunt’s house, and neither of them had any place to be. jeremy is the one that taught him how to pickpocket (although there was a lot less flirting involved in jeremy’s method – he relies heavily on the “dumb tourist desperately needing directions” angle). but jeremy can never stay in one place too long, so he left. a year later, they happened to bump into each other in another state and decided a coincidence like that was too big to ignore. so they started traveling together and eventually ended up in nyc, where they stayed. (well, kinda. jeremy disappears for weeks at a time and comes back with all kinds of stories.)
griffin sometimes gets pissed because jeremy likes to equate their 2 childhoods, but they were really nothing alike. sure, jeremy’s family was oppressive and he could never be himself around them, but they were wealthy, they loved him, they never laid a hand on him, and they’re still hoping he comes home someday. jeremy didn’t leave because he had to, he left because he wanted to. but he can’t seem to grasp the difference. still, he listened when griffin told him he should reach out to his family and let them know he’s okay. now they have scheduled phone calls once a month and they’re all happy with that amount of communication.
all in all, jeremy is still a kid. he loves comic books, action figures, the atari he & griffin split 50/50, and going to the movies. he’s always looking for the next big adventure or something to make him feel more alive. unfortunately, that’s taken him to some darker places with drugs and alcohol, but he’s doing okay right now. he was worried about moving into an apartment because he thought it would make him feel too trapped, but he actually likes having a place that he chose, that no one is forcing him to be at. oh and no, he and griffin have never dated. jeremy just doesn’t know what personal space means.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
eddie; 34. straight [but probably aro/ace in modern terms]. he’s already been divorced three times, which he assumed is because he's a pushover, never fights for anything or takes his own stance, and seemingly lacks passion in every aspect of his life. for almost ten years, he worked as a personal accountant in the upper east side. his days were mundane: he ate the same breakfast (oatmeal), the same lunch (ham & cheese sandwich), and the same dinner (chicken noodle soup) every day. somewhere around the time of his third divorce, he realized he wasn’t going to find fulfillment unless he searched for it, so he quit his job, cashed out his family inheritance, and traveled through europe. as he was living in hostels and hitchhiking and relying on the kindness of strangers, he started to become well-acquainted with the homeless communities in every place he visited. he realized how out of touch he had become, and how privileged he was to be bored with his life. and thus, he had found his passion.
when he returned to new york, he got a new job in finance for a nonprofit organization for the homeless. that was nice and all, but he never got to see the benefits of his work, so he started volunteering at food banks and shelters. that’s where he met jeremy and griffin. jeremy was fascinated by how truly dull eddie is. he kept waiting for eddie to reveal some deep, wild, secret part of him, but it never happened. eddie never even bragged about his adventures in europe; he would always turn the conversation back around to others. by the time jeremy realized he really is that boring, he was already looking up to eddie as an older brother type (and griffin was just along for the ride).
eddie is the one that’s actually renting the apartment and then renting out the extra space to griffin, jeremy, and vincent at dirt cheap rates while they get on their feet. he agreed to keep doing this as long as they all have jobs (pickpocketing doesn’t count) and try to stay clean in jeremy’s case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
vincent; 21. bi. vincent grew up comfortable, but not wealthy, in queens, with his family who emigrated from singapore before he was born. his parents later got divorced, and now he’s the oldest of a combined total of seven siblings, though he’s always been closer to his mom and stepdad. growing up, his grades were just average, he had a few friends but was too shy to be popular, and he wasn’t particularly athletic either – he was on the swim team for a while, but he hated the competitive aspect. his favorite part was staying behind after practice and having the pool all to himself; he would float on his back for hours, just watching the pool lights reflecting on the ceiling. he struggled to fit in at school. this all changed when he started weightlifting during his senior year. he mainly started doing it as a way to keep himself busy, but he soon realized that the more fit he got, the more attention people paid him. he liked that.
soon after, he started his first relationship with a girl, kelly, who he intended to marry someday. they graduated high school together and both enrolled at the same college – though vincent hadn’t decided a major yet – and things were going great. he even came out to her as bi and she took it really well (especially for the time). they were settled into an apartment of their own at 19.
in his quest to figure out his major, vincent took up all kinds of new hobbies, his favorite being drumming. he even started a garage band with some of his friends. they started playing house shows, which ended up being somewhat popular, though they don’t expect to make it big anytime soon. at one of these shows, vincent ran into griffin and they bonded over their love of rock music. when vincent found out that griffin didn’t have a place to stay that night, he invited him to sleep on his couch – understandably, kelly was angry that he didn’t ask first.
kelly got increasingly more upset as time went on and vincent & griffin became better friends. even though nothing romantic ever happened between them (and i sure hope not, because griffin was like 16 at the start), kelly was convinced that vincent was cheating on her and that she was only there to cover for his “true” sexuality. when they inevitably broke up, vincent was devastated. not only that, but he now had to find a new place to live asap. that’s when griffin mentioned that he and jeremy were renting rooms from eddie and that vincent was welcome to join. and that takes us up to the present! (well, the “present” being 1987).

StackedNatural Day 17: 7x03, 10x01, 11x01
StackedNatural Masterpost: [x]
October 7, 2021
7x03: The Girl Next Door
Written by: Andrew Dabb & Daniel Loflin
Directed by: Jensen Ackles
Original air date: October 7, 2011
Plot Synopsis:
Sam reunites with a childhood girlfriend who is supposedly preying on human brains.
Features:
Stoned Dean, Bobby is alive, more Sam hallucinations, Baby Sam, Sam goes rogue, Kitsune, the Superwho crossover we all wanted in 2011 (kind of), Dean is a liar, perpetuating the cycle of murdering parents in front of their children.
My Thoughts:
Okay y’all this post is gonna be fast and dirty because it is rapidly approaching my bedtime and I have things to do tomorrow.
Before I even watched this episode I wrote a note saying that they did us dirty because if they absolutely HAD to kill Dean in the finale then this kid should have done it.
I adore Dean and Bobby in the hospital. Little father-son face pat. The escape scene is really tense and well-filmed.
When I see Sam look sad and do the hand thing my latent Samgirl tendencies from like 2010 poke their heads up and this episode was good to them, especially with baby Sam. We love to see an episode here or there for the Samgirls.
A few years ago one of my friends told me I was a caricature of myself (I had just told them that in university I quit the acapella choir so I would have more time for the musical theatre club, it was justified) and I think about that every time Dean talks about pie.
It’s a shame that the leviathans had no lead up in their reveal and that the cgi is so bad on them because otherwise they’re actually decent monsters - I like it when the monsters are really smart. But the bad stuff overshadows it so much that I still hate them as a plotline.
Don’t love that they used the threat of sexual violence in a plot with a 15 year old girl so that baby Sam can be a white knight, but this is Supernatural so I don’t know what I was expecting.
I like that the kids bond over abusive parents. Once again, this is a John Winchester hate blog.
Is the scene where Sam gets punched in the face the same motel set from episode one? The shot is basically identical to when Sam drags Dean into the motel while he’s covered in mud.
Overall a pretty good episode, weird that they have baby Sam say three times that you have to stab a kitsune in the heart and then they’re all killed by being stabbed in the stomach region, but whatever.
Notable/Kickass Lines:
“They gave me morphine. A lot. Hey, look, a monster broke my leg.”
“Sam, you are a freak. But so was, I don't know, Jimi Hendrix and... Picasso. So am I. All the coolest people are freaks.”
“You're a hunter. So... You're supposed to kill me? And I'm supposed to kill you?”
“I see the way you look at me, Dean, like I'm a grenade and you're waiting for me to go off.”
“People... They are who they are. No matter how hard you try, you are what you are. You will kill again.”

10x01: Black
Written by: Jeremy Carver
Directed by: Robert Singer
Original air date: October 7, 2014
Plot Synopsis:
Dean is a demon and running amuck with Crowley while Sam tries to figure out what happened to his brother. Meanwhile, Castiel is dealing with his diminishing grace.
Features:
Sam going to Any Lengths, Cas’ sexy French depression bathrobe, Drowley summer of love, Jeremy Renner knock-off, Demon Dean doesn’t make deals, an angel with human values.
My Thoughts:
I remember so little about this episode but I DID remember the sexy French depression bathrobe and I DID say “oh, Dean, his nipple is out” out loud while watching.
This is a good episode for me. I know Dean is a Demon but it’s nice to see him with so much less stress so I think he’s allowed a little murder, as a treat. He’s getting to do all the things he wasn’t allowed to do in his 20s because he was listening to John! E’s singing karaoke and probably having threesomes with men! I also kind of like it when the brothers act completely unhinged while trying to find each other. It’s just fun!
I gasped out loud in indignation when Crowley and Dean did the bitch jerk thing, even though I am extremely obsessed with the Drowley summer of love.
I was talking about Hannah having bad gaydar and the friend that I was watching it with said that Hanna reminder her of herself like five years ago when she thought she was straight and dated her best friend and then later they both turned out to be gay.
I don’t give a shit about the Jeremy Renner knock off hunter, but I was also watching with @meg3point0 and she said, “this guy is a hunter or ex-military or both” right before it showed his military photo, so everyone please give her a round of applause. She also wants me to quote her as saying “even when the show tries to make Sam the protagonist, it’s still about Dean”, which is correct.
Other things about this episode: the gay subtext is basically text at this point. Crowley basically proposed to Dean in this shitty little bar and Dean was like “a but I’m just a bachelor rolling through town” like come on.
Finally, I promised my brother-in-law that I would write “Deanmon” at the end of my post, so here.
Notable/Kickass Lines:
“I need your help. Heaven needs your help.”
“You mean when porn guy was stabbing the other guy to death 10 feet in front of me, and I was having a total code-brown moment in my favorite freakin' pants because I thought I was next, did I conduct a field interview?...No.”
“You know what tickles me about all this? It's what's really eating you up. You don't care that he's a demon. Heck, you've been a demon. We've all been demons. No, it's that he's with me and he's having the time of his life. You can't stand the fact that he's mine.”
“For the first time in thousands of years, I have choices.”
“We've howled. We've bayed. We've done extraordinary things to triplets, all of which have been massively entertaining.”
“ There's seemingly nothing but chaos. But not all bad comes from it. Art. Hope. Love. Dreams.”

11x01: Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire
Written by: Jeremy Carver
Directed by: Robert Singer
Original air date: October 7, 2015
Plot Synopsis:
Dean and Sam dealing with the aftermath of freeing the darkness on earth.
Features:
Infections that should have been Croatoan if we were gonna bring it full circle, Cas as a rabid dog, Amara the baby, the Darkness setting off alarms in Heaven and Hell, complete lack of chemistry between Dean and the Darkness.
My Thoughts:
This is my first time seeing this episode all the way through because this is exactly where I lost interest when it was airing live and I picked it back up in season 12 after the confession because @weedsinavacantlot only wanted me to watch the lead up to Jack.
I don’t really care for this episode tb and also it’s homophobic that all the other leads get to look hot when they go rabid forplot reasons but Cas looks like trash. Unfair to me personally.
Hilarious that Jenna hurt herself on rebar. We love a little accidental foreshadowing.
Dean and the darkness have so little chemistry it’s hilarious. Jackals just looks confused the entire time they’re on screen together.
Watching all these pseudo-zombies truck in to surround our heroes like why are they doing a shitty version of dta (not to make everything about dta, but come on).
I hate that demons used to be scary and now they’re just guys in suits. Surely there was a way to avoid this.
Notable/Kickass Lines:
“You didn’t call for help until after the orgy?”
“ Dean, if we don't change -- right now -- all of our crap is just gonna keep repeating itself.”
Laura’s (completely subjective) Episode Rating: 6.5
IMdB Rating: 8.6
In Conclusion: First three episode day totally kicked my ass, wis me luck for tomorrow.

Rowing the Rarepair Rowboat: Caroline Forbes x Seline (The Vampire Diaries)
"I feel like I shouldn't even have to say this," Bonnie sets down her coffee and stares at Caroline; a stern, slightly disbelieving and exasperated stare, "but don't sleep with the babysitter."
She says it with such conviction, too, as if it's a genuine concern. Like she's going to just waltz up to the new girl and suggest it!
Caroline rolls her eyes, laughing, and replies, maybe a bit too testily, "I'm not going to sleep with her! I just..." She takes a deep breath and tries again -- without the sheepish smile this time. "She's... I just think that..."
"She's hot and you want to have sex with her."
"That's--!" Her words actually register, alongside an image of Seline, the new babysitter, as of this morning and Caroline slumps with a defeated sigh, "--totally true."
Bonnie picks her cup back up to take a drink and totally not to disguise the smile that Caroline can see on her face, plain as day. Groaning, she drops her head onto her arms with a thump.
Bringing up the interview was a bad idea. Coffee with Bonnie had just seemed like a good opportunity to whine a bit about how infuriatingly perfect Seline was throughout the entire interview, because she can't say anything to Ric without him going all gooey-eyed and gushing even more about how great she seems. And he wouldn't even listen to her when she tried to point out that it was so obviously all just a ploy to try and seduce him, and get under his skin!
For what reason... she actually isn't sure. But it worked! Because now she's under Caroline's skin as well like the slightering little snake she is, if snakes were slender, and had impossibly smooth skin, and were able to work their venom into your veins without even touching you!
Another groan escapes Caroline but it comes out as more of a pathetic whimper if she's honest. She props her chin on her arms and pouts.
"Why couldn't she be really horrible so that we were forced to hire the old lady nanny?" she asks miserably. "Couldn't she be like every other stranger in our lives and turn out to be some bloodthirsty monster, or an ancient, evil witch with a murderous vendetta? Why did she have to be perfect and... sparkly?"
Bonnie's eyebrows raise, and she laughs, sets down her cup, and shakes her head at her like she's the saddest sight she's seen. And that's saying a lot; she dated Jeremy, for gods sake.
"All right, you need to pull yourself together," Bonnie tells her, leaning in across the table with a smile that's getting far too much entertainment out of this for the words coming out of her mouth. "Or else you're going to end up getting sparkly with this girl. I repeat: Do. Not. Sleep with. The nanny."
"Fine," Caroline says but she isn't convinced by her own agreement. She sits up straight, finally shaking herself out of this ridiculousness, and repeats, more clearly and calmly, "I'm not going to do anything with the nanny that would count as even slightly unprofessional. All conversations will be about the girls, or Ric, since she is clearly already trying to get her perfectly manicured claws into--"
She catches Bonnie's stare. Closing her mouth, she nods, getting the message.
"Yeah, I'll work on it."
Bonnie nods back. "You do that. But, uh... I'd suggest doing it fast, because based on your descriptions of this gorgeous demon of a babysitter, I'd say that she has just walked in and is -- oh, yep, she's coming over here. And she's smiling. And waving. And I'm still talking -- I'm gonna go!"
Caroline's eyes widen as Bonnie is already grabbing her stuff and getting out of her seat -- the only other seat at the table. She shakes her head frantically and tries to grab for her, not able to speak as Seline reaches them far too fast with those annoyingly gorgeous long legs.
"Hi!" Seline greets, and the moment for escape has passed.
"Hey!" Caroline says, with way too much enthusiasm and a smile that probably looks a bit crazy. Judging by the look both she and Bonnie give her, she's guessing it does.
"You must be the new nanny," Bonnie says to Seline. "I'm Bonnie."
Seline sticks out a hand and shakes Bonnie's with a bright smile. "It's nice to meet you! Are you leaving already...?" she asks, gesturing to Bonnie's stuck gathered rather hastily into her arms and her seat now left unoccupied.
"I have to get to Whitmore College. My class starts in a half hour, and they're not going to learn much if their professor isn't there," she explains with a laugh that Seline joins in on, to Caroline's great dismay, because as it turns out, even that sounds perfect. Soft and silky and like a god damn siren. As an afterthought, Bonnie adds, "Well, professor in training, I guess."
"Oh, did you intern with Alaric?" Seline asks.
Bonnie and Caroline share a subtly amused look at that, and Bonnie falters for a second, trying not to let her smile show too much.
"Uh, yeah -- in a way. I'm actually teaching Occult studies, so, having him around has certainly been... a big help. What with the... history side of things and all." Recognizing her own fumbling, she quickly says, "Anyway! I have to go. I'll see you later, Care. It was nice meeting you, Seline. You two have fun!"
Caroline shoots her a disbelieving glare, eyes wide as Bonnie just smirks and makes her escape out of the cafe. Fantastic. Now it's just her and--
She turns to find Seline already taking the seat across from her and asking, "Is it okay if I sit with you for a little while? If you're not busy, of course! I'd love to get to know you better, seeing as how you're trusting me with your kids."
"And their father," Caroline says tightly, then regrets it when it comes off as a jealous ex. Even the thought of someone assuming that makes her shudder. She was more just meaning because of his bad luck in the dating department, any new women in his life seems like a bad idea, especially now that Lizzie and Josie are in the picture.
Seline actually looks surprised by the comment. She blinks and sits up straighter. Then her expression shifts, and she's clearly trying to suppress a smile -- though, not very hard, as it twitches and tugs at the corners of her mouth as she momentarily ducks her head, nodding.
"Ah," she says, like everything makes perfect sense now. That's worrying. Caroline is really hoping she didn't go down the wrong route with this. "I get it now. I couldn't figure out why you seemed so... off with me during the interview. I was actually worried that I had done something wrong, or my resume wasn't enough."
"No." Caroline sinks in her seat with a sigh, guilt popping her with one sharp poke. "No, Seline, that's not--"
"It's okay!" Seline assures her. "I totally get it. I've watched the movies. Girl interviews for a job as a nanny, and nine times out of ten, they end up sleeping with the father. I absolutely get why you might've thought that's what I was trying to do."
Caroline shakes her head. "No, really, it's fine. It's my fault, I shouldn't have jumped to assumptions like that. You are... lovely. And perfect. For the job! For the kids -- Lizzie and Josie will adore you, I just know it. It was extremely rude of me to assume that you had any other intentions towards the job, or towards Ric."
"Well... thank you for saying that." Seline smiles at her, mouth stretching so far across her cheeks that it's kind of impossible for Caroline not to smile back. Then Seline is saying, "But I just want you to know that, I promise, I am not trying to go after Alaric, just so that you're totally reassured and don't have any concerns about that. I'm actually gay, so."
The bluntness throws Caroline. Bonnie returns in the form of a stern voice in the back of her head, giving her a good thwack for good measure as she repeats: Do not sleep with the babysitter. There is a line and it should not be crossed. But with this new information, as well as the smile that she is currently directing right at Caroline like a very obvious beam of sunshine, it's harder to see that line.
"Oh!" Caroline says then immediately kicks herself and scrambles to correct. "I mean -- that's great! For you. Obviously, it has no impact on me. Not that I'm not -- oh god, that came off incredibly wrong. I... am so sorry."
Seline's laughing that silky laugh again. Like music, floating into Caroline's skull and filling it with clouds, soaking up all of the worries and bad things. A sort of peaceful content is washing over like a gentle shower of rain.
"Don't be," Seline tells her. "It's fine. And cute."
Heat rises to the surface of Caroline's skin, and she flushes. She tries to laugh it off. "Uh... thank you. I try my best."
The joke has Seline laughing even more. Caroline can't help laughing, too, letting the embarrasment be washed away.
Then Seline says, "I was actually trying to impress you, not Alaric."
Maybe it's just the slight giddiness of it all lingering for a moment afterwards, but Seline gives her a lingering look before finally switching the subject, and she swears that it meant something. If that something is a toe over the line then... she'll just pretend she can't see it. Lines are easily moved.

Hi.
Last night I was on wattpad reading a book called Miss Holland (Yes theain character is related to Tom Holland). Now I don't even know of this creator is on here but I would like to say to her. Brilliant writing I absolutely love it.
So back to the point. I was at the part where Dani (The main character) had just posted on Instagram that she had given birth and called her child Freedom Michael Holland. Now throughout this whole book so far Tom has been ranting to everyone so far that Dani is obsessed with Wham! and George Michael.
So at this point I was listening to Last Christmas (Yes I don't care it's a Christmas song) and Wake me up Before you go go because they are Wham songs. The song I was listening to before Wake me up Before you go go which was the song I listened to as I read that chapter was Freedom. So Dani named her Child after Wham and George Michael.
Now this is a mainly online book so of course this was Instagram and as I read what the author put as the comments. Now she ended up putting quiet a lot down for Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie, getting Annoyed at Dani naming her child after a Wham song and George Michael. And then I see the comment thatade me come up with this. It was written and the person in the chapter that had written in it was Robert Downey Jr. All it said was basically RDJ telling Tom Holland to shut up. He like's Freedom's name. So I came up with this;
Even if RDJ didn't even know Wham exists or has at least heard of them but never listened to it I can still imagine him singing his heart out to things like Careless Whisper and I find that hilarious because he has probably listened to a couple of Wham songs, not known it's them, then searched the song up and added practically every song to a playlist somewhere.
And then at some Marvel cast after party, RDJ just starts taking over the music and playing Wham. Now remember how I said earlier that Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and Tom Holland very much dislike Wham, well they just all stand in the corner drinking.
While they do that RDJ, Tom Hiddleston (Because I feel like he is like RDJ), Jeremy Renner (because it was also written that he liked Wham as well), Paul Bettany, Haley Atwell, Dominic Cooper (He is in both Mamma Mia Movie's, I wouldn't be surprised), Tessa Thompson (She is friend with an Australian. I am guessing she likes a wide range of Music), Benedict Cumberbatch, James D'arcy (He is properly British), Florence Pugh, Leticia Wright and Maybe Daniel Craig, because 1) Chris Evans may have let him in because they worked on Knives out together and 2) He played James Bond. Of course he likes Wham. He is a British person and you have top very British to be James bond. So they are just all dancing to Wham because they are either British or are old enough to have listened to Wham when they first made some big hits, while The three who don't like Which are standing in the corner.
So yeah that's what went through my mind last night, and I only realised now that it is absolute genius and should post it. Thank you for you're time and have a good rest of you're day.

Also, people view Chyler as like a LGBT champion(and I do find her amazing, don't misunderstand), but her and Melissa are really close. She's said in an interview her kids call her aunt Melissa. So like, if people really champion Chyler that much, shouldn't people trust her judgment of Melissa a bit more. Like she's actually speaks to her and knows her personally.
But if you confront these fans with that, they’d likely come up with a reason that Chyler actually hates Melissa now.
Off the top of my head, they’d say something like…
“Chyler didn’t defend Melissa on social media, so she must be angry with her. These tweets that happened after SDCC-
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-were created by the Supergirl publicist. You can tell by how they copied the two girls dancing together from her past tweets about their sisterhood, before she realized what Melissa is really like. The emoji of the girls doesn’t even make sense here lmao the Supergirl publicist is so bad at their job omfg”
or alternatively, closer to what I’ve actually seen regarding this-
“Chlyer probably doesn’t even know about the SDCC event. Or she only heard it from their side. She would probably agree with us if she knew what really happened, but she might never know how Melissa really is.”
There’s been a general tendency to frame the actors of Supergirl who are on good terms within this fandom against the actors who are not, at all logical costs.
And so as soon as the fandom has issue with an actor, even if they all previously were perceived as having an amicable or close relationship with the other members of the cast, the fandom will suddenly act like the “good” cast members hate this cast member.
For instance,
David
When the musical recap first dropped, people were making posts that put thoughts into David Harewood’s head, proposing that he was embarrassed by Melissa and Jeremy.
The infamous letter to Melissa’s publicist even said “[…] save for Katie Mcgrath and David Harewood who appeared uncomfortable […]”
And that’s what most fans on that side of the debate seemed to believe.
But then David tweeted-
Tumblr media
Which just speaks to how flawed many fans’ interpretations of the meaning behind the cast’s actions are.
So now he’s on the other side of the line, and the fans have moved from acting like he’s super close with Katie and Odette and they’re all against Mel and Jeremy, to acting like the ‘good guys actually hate him too.
Mechad
Mehcad’s fallout is weirder, because it felt like some fans initially didn’t want him on the ‘good side,’ though I do remember seeing post that were pro- Katie, David, and Mechad vs the rest of the cast before they turned around.
I’d been kind of avoiding people who were overreacting to the event by the time the anger spread to Mehcad, but looking back at Mehcad’s tag, people thought he said “Zitta” ( “shut up,” in Italian) in response to Katie saying that art can be interpreted in many different ways (referring to supercorp). And then I think? I remember seeing more criticisms, based on that belief, of Mehcad speaking Italian? Don’t take my word for it.
But he really rather clearly was saying “take that.” (Watch this. Op thought Mehcad said “Take that” then “zitta zitta”, but in the second instance he was actually saying “take tha take tha” quickly. Look away from the video when it says “Zitta zitta” and listen for the “t” sound in the beginning of the phrase.)
Because this is such a big leap to me, I do wonder if those who believed it wanted to be angry with Mehcad. And the originator of this idea didn’t appear to speak italian, so it’s not as naturally occurring a mishearing, which makes me wonder if they were looking for it to be negative.
Then Mehcad responded to someone’s comment on instagram (I’m not sure if he’s said anything else about it) and people had a somewhat less ridiculous reason to “cancel” him.
Note: “I’m a member of the HRC so I can’t be homophobic” is an incredibly misleading simplification of what happened
A piece of the comment he responded to, relevant sections to his response bolded:
“You don’t get to decide if we the queer fans you supposedly support can or cannot be sad over this because even tho you supported the community at some point it doesn’t come as genuine right now when we see things like that horrible interview in which only katie mcgrath was demonstrating to be a real ally in defending the fans views, that’s how you treat your fans who have supported you through this years and helped this show get bigger! […]
So next time try to educate yourself before speaking […]”
His response:
“don’t post to my page again if you’re going to be rude. I don’t supposedly support anyone. I’m a member of the HRC. I’ve consistently supported all human rights. Race and preference included. You don’t know me. Do your research.”
Essentially, he was responding to accusations that he is ingenue in his support of lgbt+ rights and accusations that he is uneducated about lgbt+ issues.
Kind of, ‘I don’t supposedly support queer ppl, I actively support them.’
He wasn’t saying “I am a member of the HRC so that gives me a free pass,” he was responding directly to an accusation that he isn’t a real ally.
Side note: My own issue with “only katie mcgrath was demonstrating to be a real ally in defending the fans views” -
Not only did Katie initially laugh at the musical recap (before remembering the wlw fans that she, more than anyone in the cast, has had contact with. These fans have followed her and interacted with her since her “breakout” so she’s likely the most sensitive to their possible reactions), but Mehcad also supported Katie’s affirmation that fans can read what they want from the show with his “take that”, and also showed a visible reluctance to support Jeremy when he said that he debunked Supercorp.
Which makes the anti-Mehcad upsurge kinda sad because he seemed to be on Supercorp’s side, in a way.
Side note, similar to the Mehcad situation:
“Melissa said ‘I can’t be homophobic because I was on Glee’” is again, incredibly misleading.
There is of course some question of the validity of the note, but assuming that it’s real, this is the actual quote from Melissa’s publicist (not Melissa herself. Honestly I guarantee that she hasn’t even read the letter):
“You’ve indicted people who are genuine ambassadors of acceptance, compassion and equality and have proven as much, not on only Glee but on SUPERGIRL and in their own personal lives.”
Her publicist said this kind of within the context of ‘advice’, saying things such as, “However, as an activist, it’s very important that you take a step back before inflicting public scorn.”
My read was that it wasn’t an argument against Melissa being homophobic, but an argument for the writer to think about what she’s doing. To consider that she’s punishing people who want to help and have tried to help, for things they didn’t do.
(Of course, someone who wrote a letter “on behalf of LGBT women” would feel "disrespected and patronized" by advice and criticisms from someone with professional experience in public relations)
(I also wonder if the publicist kinda knew that Glee wasn’t enough, considering her phrasing of “not on only Glee.” But I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t realize that Glee isn’t exactly highly regarded in lgbt+ spaces. It’s not a discourse straight people are usually familiar with.)
But putting the words “I can’t be homophobic because I was on Glee” into Melissa’s mouth is ridiculous and a move made only to further tarnish her image on this website.
Melissa
Before any of this, a lot of Supercorp fans wanted to put Melissa in the “demon” category.
Any news that was ambiguous in meaning was read in the worst possible light until there was a backlash in the form of a more positive interpretation (usually from Supercorp shippers who like Kara), and they’d back off for a bit.
Now I’m not sure if this was in response to Melissa beginning to date Chris Wood, or because of an urge to prop up Katie Mcgrath as the one who deserves more attention than the lead. Maybe both. (Maybe neither, I’m open to alternate interpretations.)
Chris
Chris had a falling out, but they never put him on the good side. He was neutral/in waiting for the bad side because of who he plays.
But they couldn’t “strike,” so to speak, because Chris Wood himself hadn’t actually done anything. There was likely some degree of anti-Chris posts, but there were also regular reminders from the some bloggers that, “Chris Wood is not Mon-El, don’t send him hate.”
Then, I think it was his first (?) video interview about Supergirl in which he very clearly liked Mon-El and Karamel, and that was enough reason for him to be considered evil incarnated.
And so the “Chris Wood is not Mon-El” posts died down in response to the idea that ‘he endorses Mon-El’s behavior.’
(My read of Wood is that he knows that Mon-El isn’t like… Doing the Right Things, but sympathizes with him and thinks he is getting better. Over sympathizes. He thinks it’s interesting or compelling or whatever, like a lot of people do. As a society we have way too much sympathy and interest for man-children and their ‘accidental misogyny’ turned ‘okay person’. But it’s not an uncommon reaction to this kind of character, across the board.
At this stage in the recognition of this trope’s problems, it’s the kind of issue we should work on, not one that we should completely renounce people for enjoying.
I mean, I’m not exactly the biggest fan of the guy and have some degree of issue with other things, but Mon-El’s actions are still not Chris’ actions. I’ll criticize him for things he actually does, thanks.)
But when Melissa started dating Chris, it became impossible for people to say things like “Save Melissa from having to act along side Chris” or “She looks so pained in her scenes with him, compared to with Katie” because we all knew that she definitely likes the guy.
And sort of accusing Chris of abusing Melissa and forcing her to stay in the relationship, they had to accept that she enjoys his company. (That would be a step too far. But I do wonder if it might have escalated to that point in the future.)
So she couldn’t 100% be on the good side, because she didn’t hate the people on the bad side. But she also couldn’t be on the bad side, because then Katie would have to hate her. And then there goes Supercorp.
…But then Odette came on the scene, just as Melissa participated in saying that Kara and Lena are only friends.
And with the announcement that Lena and Reign are somehow connected, fans who were frustrated with not being able to condemn Melissa are given free ‘reign’.
This is why people are shipping reigncorp, because they have new blood who couldn’t possibly have done anything to upset fans yet, and they can easily divide the cast into people they hate and people the love.
But the only person who is truly safe is Katie Mcgrath, not only because she has a lot more experience with wlw fans and knows what not to say and because she doesn’t have any social media to say the wrong thing on, but because she is their favorite.
And so no matter what happens, she is always going to be on the good side.
So the argument that Chyler loves Melissa and is a good judge of character will not work.
But if tomorrow, Melissa Benoist said she loves Katie Mcgrath, and Katie Mcgrath said Melissa is a really good person, the fans might suddenly shift Melissa to the good side.
Because they see the world in black and white, but their fave is more their moral compass than anything else.

Hi! I hope you have been feeling even better already in the last few days. I finally watched Poor Things this weekend! I liked it and think Emma deserved her Oscar...for her acting from a child to a grown woman but it also wasn't my kind of movie either. But it was funny and entertaining, but then at some point felt almost like another movie and also a bit long. It also made sex a big part of the movie and like it's necessary to being a woman. The Barbie comparisons are pretty funny but it was also almost nothing like Barbie, and the humor is a bit different, but I still liked both. The difference is I wouldn't want or need to watch Poor Things again, even though I still think it's a good movie.
Honestly I never went back and listened to the soundtrack for either one but maybe I will. That sounds like a good plan. The movie and stage musical of Cabaret are pretty different honestly but I would still recommend it. I actually watched a bootleg of it first with Emma Stone as Sally and the movie shortly after, so I was surprised the movie didn't have as many songs. I think the only reference is when Dove Cameron's character working at somewhere like the Kit Kat club though and Ariana Debose Maybe this time ish song. I don't remember the movie Brigadoon very much but I think it's only reference in the plot of the show..a place that comes back every 100 years. I've only seen the Gene Kelly movie though, a long time ago. Almost like Being in Love is my favorite song.
Was it the Aaron bootleg...lol. I think he makes a pretty good Sweeney actually and like his version of Epiphany. Also another fun fact is that Next to Normal was the 2nd bootleg I ever watched...cuz I couldn't find a Newsies one at the time lol even though I watched the Disney movie at that point. Anyway I'm excited for the other Gatsby too..although Isaac Powell seems pretty young to me. That's so interesting about making Nick gay though..I thought the character Jordan Baker was supposed to be his gf...but I haven't read it so idk. Maybe I finally will and try to watch a bootleg of this one eventually. I will watch it for Jeremy and Eva anyway even if it's bad. One of the other songs,I heard, his love song to Daisy, kinda sounded a little like Colors of the Wind, which to me didn't sound that bad. But that's just my opinion..and it's fine to disagree especially if it's something you really love. I hope the next one is even better and will probably have a different tone to it anyway based on what we already know so far. I'm glad you're happy with it. The Outsiders seems alright too and I also just heard a couple songs from Water For Elephants. I hope I can look into it more and listen to some cast recordings if they're out when Tonys get closer.
Do you have anymore or newer favorites from Tortured Poets yet? I like it a lot more now..I think it was just a lot to take in and I hope you were able to listen to it properly now. Haha something similar to me has happened to me before but it's usually because my sister is the one who is too tired to stay up and listen. I think my favorites have stayed the same but I've been appreciating other songs more too. What are your favorites from the Anthology? This week I'm going to play it on shuffle and sometimes that helps me notice my favorites more. When we heard about the Anthology and how many new songs there were, my sister said she was probably gonna add more songs on tour which makes sense. I just think it's hard to predict which songs cuz there's so many and people can have a lot of different favorites. But I could definitely see Fortnight, Tortured Poets or Down Bad, Who's afraid of Little Old Me, maybe But Daddy I Love Him, but it's kinda long and it depends if she is cutting songs. Also definitely I Can Do it with a Broken Heart and/or Clara Bow, if she doesn't wanna sing that one. I think the circus choreography is for Who's afraid of little old me. I'm not sure about the Anthology honestly, but I think for surprise songs since they are mostly acoustic and it seems like a good amount already if she's not cutting songs. I also still think she'll sing Castles Crumbling with Hayley too. It's so cool you're going to another show at the end of the year. I'm sorry if I forgot anything..I wanted to reply since it's been a few days. 🩷
helloooo! i'm feeling a lot better, but have been migraine-plagued for the last two days + still wheezing a bit — victorian child immune system, it's okay. it's been sunny today, i'm excited for the weekend, for warmer weather! how are you friend?
i haven't been watching many movies lately! but i did finally start graceland 🫡 did not watch it in 2013. but here we are in 2024. just incredibly humbling behavior. i feel like a court jester. i was talking to one of my best friends about cabaret, because she likes it a lot, and i was reading about the revival reviews! very interesting to see how different the reception is here, vs. the west end (and similarly, with back to the future). it's been a while (probably like three years, if not longer) since i've felt ... invested? in theatre in this way where i'm looking at reviews + grosses + boards + etc. again. so that's been fun for me! what do you think of the tony nominations? are you rooting for any show, or any person in particular?
almost like being in love is such a beautiful song! ugh i loveeee musical love songs. i've been listening to my musicals playlist a lot lately. which has actually been really fun for me!
and of course it was the aaron bootleg 😔 i actually really liked his take on sweeney, but i am 1) incredibly biased + 2) am not a sweeney person! i can't even remember what the first bootleg i watched was, it's been so long. but next to normal is another show that is very dear to me. i've been meaning to watch the west end boot at some point. i have actually only seen the newsies movie once, but i loveeeee the musical. i have no idea how long you've been following me, but i used to be a Newsies Blog. newsies is just very dear to my heart; it's the first show i saw on broadway.
i'm currently rereading gatsby (albeit slowly) and i love it; i loved my english teacher back then + the discussions we would have and she really helped me further my love of reading + analyzing text, and so gatsby is very special to me! isaac powell is actually closer in age to gatsby in canon than jeremy is — gatsby is 32, isaac is 29, jeremy is 39! i like kerrigan-lowdermilk's stuff (the mad ones, etc) but didn't really care for kait kerrigan's stuff on her own; i like nathan tysen's tuck everlasting but aside from that haven't really loved his stuff. so i was always a little hesitant about this production of gatsby, but think that the show just misses the mark on a lot of the themes in the original text. i hope it finds its audience; i'm clearly just not one of those people! and that's okay!
i'm really intrigued by the outsiders; haven't read the book or seen the musical but i've always wanted to. so since i'm embarking on my english class reading journey maybe i'll pick that up when i'm done with gatsby (or the iliad). i like paul alexander nolan (once, bright star, daddy long legs) so i'm curious about water for elephants but haven't checked it out yet!
the songs from tortured poets that i regularly listen to are: fortnight, down bad, but daddy i love him, guilty as sin?, i can do it with a broken heart, the black dog, i hate it here, i look in people's windows, the prophecy and the manuscript. i've been hearing things about more songs coming and i just ... i don't even know if i want them at this point. there's so many songs already. it is just so much to take in. but tour starts up soon! so that'll be fun to see what she changes and what she does for surprise songs. i'm not going to lie, every time i see "clara bow" i still think of bonnie & clyde haha. i could see her adding but daddy, i can do it with a broken heart, and would be curious if fortnight would not have post malone's verse! i think it'll be fun to see her sing castles crumbling, but i wonder if she'll cut long live :( my friend was really looking forward to hearing long live live :(
hope you're doing well and having a good day! have a good weekend if we don't chat before then! xx
