How are you feeling about last act of the simulanka quest?

it started off meh because scara made his long-awaited appearance, but i had already anticipated that so i focused on navia and nilou being as wonderful as always

but then we got to the dragon and let me tell you scara is so fucking hilarious in this quest. my guy is genuinely projecting his self-inflicted trauma and issues onto a literal baby (half-self inflicted, dottore did deliver like half the punches there). like- you cannot make this shit up. god i love it, he's so ridiculous, very in-character of him honestly. i guess if nothing else he's rather good at staying consistent with that LMAO

little durin was adorable, and it's always funny to see alice again. these events are always just- don't trust anyone in the hexenzirkel and tbh i approve of that. at least when it comes to alice god but her va is so good it's such a delight to hear her speak always. my girl gets like two voiced scenes per year and makes damn good use of them hahah

overall it was decent! scara's inclusion does keep it from being as good as the first two acts. also do bear in mind that i haven't done the appendix (is that the name for it) yet so idk how the rest shapes up to be

3am pacing around the room in a heated debate with myself over which movie should fill the 4th slot on my letterboxd profile

#what autism does to a motherfucker #the first 3 are romeo+juliet 96/to catch a thief/scott pilgrim #rope is a STRONG contender but idk if i can justify 2 hitchcocks out of 4 slots. that’s a bit much #i might even like rope more but to catch a thief is just that important to my identity #2001 aso is also a strong contender as is contact. i haven’t seen either of them too many times but mostly bc i was too blown away #2001 is obviously That Movie but contact made me experience an entire new emotion at like 13 #i have not watched it since my dad died and i truly don’t know if i can ever watch it again. god #dead poets is also a legacy choice but like. has it truly earned it. yes it has but STILL #last candidate is portrait of a lady on fire for obvious lesbian reasons #one of the hardest i have ever cried at a film is the last like 3 minutes. deep painful sobbing i’m so serious #but again! does a particularly emotional viewing experience necessarily mean it goes in the top 4?#most importantly it does not fucking matter except for i like categorizing and making lists so it matters to me #i think the answer is i have to rewatch all the candidates but the problem is all those films make me so emotional it wipes me out for days #so watching them all is hydrogen bomb (5 fave movies) to coughing baby (me making lists)#ok. ok i’m going to try and go to bed now #if u read all of this and want to be letterboxd besties my @ is m_worm #orating!

You see the thing about DC Comics is that the comics don't matter and they're gonna just pick and choose their Canon every new run anyways so you might as well live a little and pick and choose YOUR preferred canon.

#bat rambles #my canon is that jason did NOT kill that man #but bruce treated him like a murderer anyways and that lack of trust directk #directly leads to jason getting himself killed #in the film the guy isnt killed he just gets beat to a bloody pulp because Jason stops pulling his punches when he hits teen years #i do not like that the film changed that he went after the guy who died bc the guy got out of prison on bail #he wasnt just a low tier thug #and then he killed that woman that Jason had befriended #and that was just a lot for him to handle in that moment #it was THEE moment when he realized Robin wasnt doing all the good he thought it was #it was his moment of complete powerlessness and then bruce just #took robin - the ONE thing that was making him feel empowered - away from him and tried to treat him like a normal child #the guy getting sent to prison #immediately getting out #then killing the sex worker is the sequence of events that directly lead to Jason starting to question the no-kill rule too #bc what is the point if rich and powerful people just get out and kill the poor and powerless #i love my baby so much ok
