I feel bad for all the nice J*nsa shippers who like their ship for whatever reasons (tropes, pretty art, aesthetic appeal, whatever) and know it's not canon but get associated with the misogynistic Dany hating crowd who act like Jon being attracted to Ygritte is J*nsa foreshadowing because red hair (I guess Jon should fuck Edmure Tully too? Omg give me Dark!Jon getting revenge on Catelyn by seducing her brother!) Tell me something. I'm new to the fandom but was J*nsa popular before the show? And I've heard something about the OG J*nsa shippers being alienated by the new shippers who insisted it had to be canon and acted like the series is called, "A song of J*nsa #danysux." I don't find that hard to believe because I know people who are now ashamed of calling themselves J*nsa shippers. Like, at this point, it's not only rival shippers who hate it. Even Gendrya/Braime/Jon stans/etc have started disliking that ship. You know your fandom is a problem when people who have nothing to do with Jnsa have a problem with it.

disclaimer: as anon says I have no issue with like the shippers mentioned by anon in the beginning and ngl I agree, I have ABSOLUTELY ZERO FUCKING STAKES in the j*nsa vs j*nerys war and the only het jon ship I gaf about is jon/ygritte and we all know where that ended up I just... have been here since 2011/adwd was over and all the fic around was just for the books under secret lj communities and asoiaf qualified for yuletide and I have... seen... things.... and I actually have like uh had... beef... with some people in there and I know things bc ppl who hated those others told me stuff so anyway *sigh* buckle up anon I'mma tell you the story of jon shipwars through the years

in order, the old gods help me here, under the cut bc this is long as fuck

when I got into fandom also given what numbers were on ao3 one ship was popular and it was sansan. no like sansan was lit. the only asoiaf ship on ao3 with more than 200 fics. jb had twenty when i checked first. jc had like around 100-ish because of the show but sansan dwarfed anything. I posted the first jon/ygritte fic on the ao3 tag and the fourth throbb fic and like the others were all reposts from lj kinkmemes. nothing was popular before the show except for sansan when it comes to huge numbers bc grrm doesn't like fic and it was all hush hush until the show made it impossible to control and that ship was the one with a huge enough fanbase it actually had numbers, so like... j*nsa wasn't popular in the way nothing else was popular until it got screentime on the show

now, that stated, j*nsa had a... fair amount of fic for a rareship which was mostly book-based and from og shippers that were there from before the show and liked it for what it was but literally none of them thought it was gonna be canon, like it wasn't huge or anything but it had a small but dedicated fanbase who did their own thing and thought it was fun/liked the idea but that was it

that fandom had their own niche of hcs that they cultivated and shit except that like... at the end of S5/beginning of S6 there was a surge in shipping for... well obvious reasons bc it was obv sansa was getting to the wall and that would have been all nice and good but a) it was the time puritanical shipping was starting to take root and the 'shipping sansa with sandor or tyrion is hella problematic' rhetoric had started to circle coming from sans*ery shippers mostly but I'mma not open that fucking can of worms here, b) while the ending of S5 had more of a theon/sansa spike, the j*nsa stuff started getting big

now here we have to mention my villain origin story ie: j*nsa fandom had this one stan whose name I won't make because honestly it's been years and if she's still around I don't want her to remember I exist who was a bnf, wrote for... the website that created the whole larry/carol thing etc who was really fixed on this thing that j*nsa was actually canon and started writing extremely popular meta about it. now you're gonna ask how do you know, I know because this person once wrote a meta named 'why robb stark is a dick' and I told her that it was really fucking bad meta and she took it so badly she kept on trash talking me on her blog/her podcast (I was apparently the insane robb stark fangirl l m a o good lord) and like that was when some sane ppl who argued with her informed me in pvt that she was basically harping on the CANON thing when they'd have been okay with like... it being crackshipping and that she was basically cultivating a hoarde of followers who were harping on them/the ogs and basically ostracizing them;

I would like to add that this person - before her tumblr got 'accidentally deleted' and remade it therefore deleted most receipts for, er, her so-called meta which included stuff like ned and cat raised sansa as a sexual object and only wanted to sell her like cattle - had at some point started a round robin fic thing where... some of the characters mocked openly said stuff that some of the og fans had said specifically targeting them and people in that side basically went harassing anyone who didn't agree with that specific notion

now never mind that this person basically coined an entire term to describe ppl who liked white guys and excused all their wrongdoings out of my conversation re robb basically lying about everything I said as if I didn't have the receipts and tried to sell shirts with it and it didn't work and like then she got kicked out of her own website because she was telling her commenters disagreeing pretty shitty insults (considering I was called psychotic for disagreeing with her that time I don't doubt it) I think at some point she stepped back from fandom bc idk wtf she's up to these days and I don't want to, but basically at that point the dam was broken and there was a bunch of puritanical shippers harping on anyone who didn't agree with j*nsa is canon endgame stuff

this also includes an incident when those ppl were like... passing themselves as throbb shippers and ended up trying to tell t*hramsay shippers off the theon tag based on moral reasons and I ended up arguing with all of them (and they were all from that crowd) which in turn landed me in contact with other og j*nsa shippers who were like detached from that fandom bc those same people harassed them away as well ssooooo fun

anyway when S6 happened everyone was high on it and whatnot but I wasn't gonna begrudge them that I mean... you shipped it for years, canon is delivering you, good for you, but then j*nerys happened

aaand basically...... I mean personally I was there like are y'all seriously arguing about the best incest jon ship out there but like basically the j*nsa endgame side was like AH JON IS PLAYING DANY SEE IF IT DOESN'T HAPPEN, the j*nerys obv got defensive af and both sides were sort of alternatively shitting on jon/ygritte anyway and depicting any other romantic rship jon could have as abusive™ and during S8 it just got worse and like I tried to stay out of it but basically from what I'm seeing now idk how the j*neryses are doing but on the j*nsa one it's ah jon's gonna play dany anyway and she's going to go insane like in the show so SHOW TRUTHING EVERY OTHER WAY and like again denying that sandor exists or that tyrion exists and like I barely touch my corner (sansan) but I ended up arguing with j*nsa/th*nsa people on twitter who were antis and is2g it was white-hair inducing and I know for sure the sansa/tyrion shippers were harassed to hell and back throughout so FUN

and even if the show didn't go there now since everyone there banked on the jnsa endgame thing and admitting you're wrong is like... not a thing, they still haven't let go of it and attach to that ship any shred of evidence which honestly is grasping at straws half of the time (like... the sansa/alysanne parallels like guys please no) and which is why every other ship is starting to get fed up, attaching canon proof of stuff from other ships onto theirs see that batb argument and jb is platonic but jonsa is not nvm taking all the sansan stuff and throwing it on j*nsa but then denying that sansan has canon evidence (like guys I had to read sansa touching his shoulder when saying gregor wasn't a true knight wasn't meaningful and we were seeing things please) and blah blah blah

this also goes hand in hand with the fixation on like... villanizing dany at all costs and like is2g I have zero investment in dany or her storyline I don't even remember it and I don't particularly care abt her either way and sure af I'm not for j*nerys endgame but like.... some stuff I read is completely excessive esp when fixing on how she's a completely mad tyrant who's gonna have to be put down and like... guys no

(also there's some srs stannis hate in that corner which I honestly don't get why they even care abt stannis but I had to read stuff like ppl don't recognize that dany and stannis are the real villains in this saga and like........ idek)

I think most of the og shippers are gone or don't ship it openly bc they don't want to be attached to the drama but like I also think they're pissing off everyone else bc like... I mean a bunch of them also were down with sansa being paired with other ppl as long as it meant a good ending for her except those ppl were... like everyone but the ppl she has actual contact with in canon which meant that at some point sansa/gendry was a thing and like.... you can imagine why arya/gendry shippers & arya stans were fed up, and there's also this tendency to behave like sansa is the center of the entire saga which like these books is named a song of jon snow basically can we pls make peace with it and personally I've had it with both j*nsa and j*nerys people since they started with that dumbass JON/YGRITTE WAS AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP rhetoric but I'm also fed up with the total ignoring that sandor exists/depicting us as delusional and honestly I also was by proxy fed up from the harassing of the sansa/tyrion shippers soooooooooooo

there were also instances of 'well theon is an acceptable choice other than jon bc he can't threaten her' which... i mean we all know what that meant and I'm not even commenting it bc it's one AM and I have no force to but I don't have to explain why it's not a progressive take now do I

there were also metas about how cousin incest being legal in half of the world means that jondany is a worse incest and j*nsa doesn't count as such and I was basically there like guys please just fucking own up to it but honestly I chose to forgot where I read that and I couldn't find the link if I tried

tldr: no one wants to admit that it's not gonna be endgame which considering the amount of fic they have on ao3 is imvho useless bc they have more content than like.. anything I ship that's not jb or that's actually like canon *cries in joncon/rhaegar but I mean renly/loras is canon and has less fic than them* so idk what's the problem with enjoying that instead of insisting it's gonna be canon when not even the show validated it while show truthing anyway when the only show truthing that can be truthed is the small council made of minorities and possibly jon eventually fucking off with the wildlings but not like that but like most people who thought it wasn't gonna be endgame had left/were made to leave by the time S7 rolled by and at this point since wow isn't out yet everyone is fandom-grasping at straws to find stuff to discourse on and we're here beating dead horses *shrug*

so that's... how it is but I would again like to point out that I don't judge ppl on their shipping, I don't particularly care about this entire feud bc I only ship jon with ppl he's not related to in whichever way and I try to stay out of this mess bc I don't really care to argue with ppl who have already decided to bend canon to whatever they want and will have to realize that it's not what grrm wrote at some point but like I have a very good memory and the above rant is as objective as possible also bc again I don't literally have a stake in that race I just think romantic/endgame j*nsa is not a thing and that ppl should stay in their lane and not harping on other ppl who ship whatever in general but especially when their ship is the most popular thing in fandom in the first place /two cents

My Reaction to GoT 8.04 (”The Last of the Starks”)

Hello, everyone! So, I’m back once again for another recap/review of the latest GoT epsiode. I’m sorry this took so long, but I spent most of my week in a deep depression over it, so I only got around to editing it now…

Anyway, this review is as much of an emotional roller coaster as the actual episode was, so read at your own risk. 

Once again, these are my thoughts from my first time viewing it (I read the leaks prior to seeing the episode, but I took them with a grain of salt, so everything written is based purely on my own emotions), and, once again, it features running commentary from my Dad and Brother because I love them and they’re amazing.

WARNING: Spoilers for the episode, if you haven’t seen it yet. Though considering how late I’m posting this, the warning may be irrelevant

Considering there are only two episodes left in the series (not counting this one), I think it’s kind of pointless for me to say that I’m still not used to the opening credits. If they haven’t grown on me yet, then they’re not going to in time for the finale

Every time I see D&D’s names at the start of an episode, I die a little inside

I’ve never been much for shipping, but when it comes to Jaime and Brienne, I’m shipping trash. And I’m proud

Aw, Sansa encouraging Jon is everything. Even if it’s encouraging him to drink

Tormund, why would you toast to Dany? Why would you hurt me like that? Is it because I ship Braime? I always said Briemund was fine, too!

Seriously, though, the fact that we have Northmen, Free Folk, Southerners, Starks, Lannisters, and Varys (from Essos) all together in one room is amazing. And beyond that, they’re happy; they’re not fighting, they’re not trying to kill one another – they’re celebrating. Together. It’s actually making me tear up a bit

Well, we were all happy until Sansa saw Dany and left

I can’t blame her there, though. Wanting to book the moment you lay eyes on Dany is a personal mood of mine

Okay, confession time: I really want to play the drinking game one of these days with my family (though I’ll substitute the wine with something non-alcoholic)

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I adore Lannisbros, and I always will

Like, Tyrion’s charm has been lost on me since S5, but whenever he’s with Jaime, I can’t help but fall in love with him all over again.

And whenever Jaime’s around Tyrion, it always brings out a sweeter, softer side of his personality that we don’t normally get to see, and I live for it

Honestly, I can’t credit Peter and Nikolaj’s performances enough

(especially in this season where the acting is pretty much the only thing worth watching for)

Kudos to the cast and crew on this scene; it’s chilling my bones more than anything in the last episode did

Back to the drinking game, and my children are still acting as dorky as ever

So, I’m curious. How did Tyrion and Sansa’s marriage get annulled, exactly?

… while Jaime blocking Tormund’s path when the latter tried to follow Brienne only added more mirth to my mood

Tormund’s expression of rejection and anguish is the same one I wear whenever Dany’s being lauded onscreen

I know you have footage of him pacing and drinking in the hallway like a nervous wreck until he finally mustered the courage to knock. Release it

………… Yep, nothing like casually taking off your clothing with a lame excuse like “it’s hot in here” to set the mood. Sheesh, Jaime. You’re so awkward you’re making me cry

(on the other hand, to everyone who told me he’d be suave-as-suave can be when trying to flirt… I win. Prepare to part with your money)

Even when these two are going back-and-forth in flirtations, they’re still arguing like an old married couple. I love it

Honestly, this woman reminds me of Cersei more and more every time I see her, but with none of the charm

I mean, okay, you’re upset. That’s fine. But how about adding an “I can’t imagine how you must feel” or “it must be even worse for you” to the end of your sentence to at least show you care? That’s just relationship 101, honey

So, does anyone else notice that Kit is acting oddly akin to how he did in that scene with Jon and Littlefinger? The little sighs and the head motion and all? Or is it just me?

Well, congratulations, Dany. Now you know how Viserys felt in S1. Don’t think that’s a good thing, though…

Ugh. Okay, so Jon and his whole “you’re my queen” schtick is annoying as all heck, but I can’t deny that it’s pulling at my heartstrings. Whether political!Jon is real or not (and I’m sure by the time I post this, so many of my wonderful mutual will have made new posts explaining how it is), the sheer desperation in the guy’s voice is horrible. It’s not the voice of a man in love, or a man who would do anything for his SO. It’s the voice of a man who’s terrified, who’s trying to do everything in his power to keep the peace, who would do anything to keep the people he truly loves safe. And – political!Jon or not – to see someone who we’ve known and watched grow since the start of the series be broken down to such a pitiful extent is heartbreaking

I mean, the guy’s on his knees claiming that he doesn’t know what else she wants from him, and, instead of comforting him or trying to work things through with him, she takes his face in her hands and tries to swear him to secrecy? To swear his “brother” and his best friend to secrecy? How can anyone ship this?! How?!

And to top it off,  her telling him to never tell anyone who he really is has to hit hard even on a personal level, too; given that his greatest insecurity in life has always been finding out who he really is, and if there’s anywhere where he really belongs. But, then again, I wouldn’t expect Day to know that, considering the guy never reveals anything personal about himself to her! But, no, they’re sooooooo in love. How adorbs uwu

No, Jon, don’t just tell Sansa and Arya. Pick them up and run away with them. Take Bran, too. Take all the redeemable characters and hightail it out of this terrible relationship and show and never look back

(it would be so ideal, if not for the fact that there must there always be a Stark in Winterfell)

Oh, nice victim-blaming there, Dany. You’re right, though. Sansa’s not the girl Jon grew up with. She’s better

Funny how Dany’s tears magically disappear the moment she thinks she’s getting what she wants

Wow, would you look at that. Dany trying to cut Jon off from his family, and giving him the “me or them” ultimatum. It’s a beautiful parallel to other such great moments, such as Balon telling Theon to choose between the Starks and the Greyjoys in S2, Cersei telling Jaime to choose her and Tywin over Tyrion in S4, and Joffrey forcing Sansa to pick sides between him and her family pretty much throughout the entireties of seasons 1 and 2. I mean, can anyone say life goals?

Okay, so I can already hear everyone calling for Jon’s head for apparently snapping at Sansa, but just from a different perspective, the look he gave her seems less like someone who’s taking sides, and more like someone trying to keep their family member out of trouble, imo. In fact, it resembles the look my wonderful Brother gives me whenever I get carried away with my big mouth (which is often)

Sansa knows, Brienne. That is all

Yes, Dany. Go get the throne already. But when Cersei kicks your lizard butt, don’t say Sansa didn’t tell you so

Finally! All the Starks together!!! (and, yes, until Jon starts saying “burn them all”, I will continue to view him as a Stark, thank you very much)

It’s probably just me, but the fact that Jaime didn’t fully loosen up with Tyrion until the latter said something snide kind of pulls at my heartstrings. Like, he was fully expecting to get mocked – he was fricking waiting for it, almost – and that look of disbelief when Tyrion said he was happy for him… I just… *curls in a corner and cries*

Can I please just give everyone in Westeros a hug. Please? The Starks (Jon included), the Lannisbros… heck, I’ll even hug Cersei and Dany, why not?

Also, she’s doing it to protect Jon. A nice little foil to how Dany tried to make Jon keep the secret earlier, knowing full well it would hurt him

And got to love how Sansa adds “someone better” to the end of her statement. She believes in Jon, and not just when it comes to drinking

It feels like I’m watching someone trapped in a toxic relationship while the rest of the world keeps moving on around him. It just feels like he’s at his lowest point, imo… even lower than when he came back to life. And that’s just sad

I'm really not trying to come at you I'm just curious...why are you all for arya and gendry when arya clearly doesn't want to be a lady and has never wanted to be a lady? I know you don't want to get married and have kids so I just wonder how thats different? Like forcing that on her when it's not what you want either? I really love gendrya I do, I'm just confused I guess??

This has been sitting in my inbox since…Saturday, maybe? And I’m finally tackling it. But where do I even begin? 

Let’s get into this…

 I am allowed to love and support and respect characters that I don’t identify with. I absolutely do identify with Arya and have always identified with Arya (especially when it comes to her independence) but leaving Gendry out of it, I can want things for characters that I don’t want for myself. 

Arya never said anything about being a wife or a mother. She rejected the idea of being a Lady. Yes, she may equate the two but it’s worth noting that from a feminist perspective they really shouldn’t be linked. I look at in the same way I look at the First Lady to a President. The goal of a First Lady is to choose a neutral platform that can be both supported by and beneficial to the entire nation. Historically though, First Ladies have often been far more successful than their husbands at getting things done. In the cases of Hillary Clinton, Betty Ford and Eleanor Roosevelt these women left the White House in much more favor than their husbands AND they did it while being wives and mothers too. We need to reject this idea that being a wife and being a mother makes you less than. Being a woman should be about self-sovereignty. There is strength in what a woman chooses to do merely because she is free to make that choice.

I do not have a Gendry in my life. I’ve actually never said that I was never going to get married or have children but rather that I don’t want to get married and have children or that I don’t see myself getting married and having children. I think often times we have a plan and it gets derailed and sometimes that can be for the best reasons. Arya has a plan and it has always been to complete her list. She had the plan before Gendry but he has always been a challenge to that list. He’s still a challenge to that list. I think if she didn’t have her list she would have corrected him on the spot when he proposed, he would have laughed because he was clearly a bit drunk and overexcited, and they would have worked it out. It was not about Arya rejecting Gendry but about her *choosing* to follow through on something that has guided her path for most of her life. It was not “never” it was “not right now”. Women are free to be who they want to be at any time in their lives. And they should have the right to change their minds without owing anyone an explanation. 

Arya loved her family – loves her family but she knows the family she grew up with is no more because the world she grew up in is no more. Since leaving King’s Landing she has sought that family and she found it in Gendry. I have always said that though I do not want to get married, I’d love (yes, LOVE) to have someone I could travel with and hang out with and yes, possibly grow old with. I don’t think it’s in the cards for me but it would be nice. Like Arya I come from a family situation that is not ideal where there’s a lot of pain behind memories, etc. Growing up you find that you can choose who your family is. After leaving King’s Landing, Gendry is Arya’s first real choice. As a friend or something more, he’s something she wants and it’s a relationship she feels she is an equal in. That is CRUCIAL. If someday I find a man that isn’t complete trash I’d be overjoyed to welcome him into my pseudo-family. Women are free to reinvent family and home and it’s okay if a man is part of those plans (to say it is not okay is to assume the man and woman would not be equals which sounds like a personal problem that needs some self-assessment on your part). It’s also okay if a man is not. 

Listen, I want what Arya wants, just like I ask my friends and family to want for me what I want for me. I don’t love Arya and Gendry because I love Arya and Gendry - I love them because there is a mutual respect/friendship/safety they share with one another. I’m actually jealous of it. They find in one another what they lack within themselves. It is a very pure relationship and overall a very healthy one, especially compared to many on the show/in the books. I know Arya wants Gendry. But as Maisie Williams said, Arya is torn. There is the duty we as women feel we have and what our heart wants and often they’re in conflict - largely because of what society expects from us. The difference here is Arya doesn’t feel her duty is to be a wife and a mother. She can’t even let her mind entertain that idea until her list is complete. Bottom line is that we need to stop pigeon holing women into these roles. Women can be mothers and wives and warriors all at the same time. Or they can be none of those things. 

This was a lot of rambling but I’m honestly not mad about it. I hope some of it made sense because I’ve actually had some of these thoughts on my own and with the AryaxGendry storyline they forced me to take a step back and reevaluate my views on what it really means to choose a partner - whether it be someone you want to marry and have children with or not. But hey! You do you and I’ll do me and at the end of the day women should support women.

#49 “Safety first. What are you? FIVE?”  +  gendrya

“I’ll be back in an hour, I just need to grab a few things. Butter, eggs, flour, coconut maybe, because why not, that’s always nice-” he lists off to himself as he shrugs his coat and grabs his keys. He goes for the door, but hesitates. “Can I trust you guys to take the first set out and put in the next batch?”

Hot Pie’s request falls on deaf ears as the two wrestle and argue over Netflix, as usual. Gendry plays dirty as he’s holding the remote over his head, while Arya’s desperately trying to climb him like a tree. It’s a mess of “Arya, I can’t-I can’t see” “Gimme it!” “Season 3? Already? Is nothing sacred? Wow. I cannot believe-”

“Guys.” Times like these he’s baffled he’s the youngest. “Like talking to a wall, honestly,”he mutters to himself.

“Yeah, yeah, can’t be that hard.” Gendry’s barely spared him a glance, which worries him. Arya takes advantage of the distraction and elbows him in the gut that has him swearing up.

“You guys are the worst.” He wants to think of the worst case scenario, but it feels too much like he’s tempting fate. “Just don’t burn the house down.” He leaves the two bickering idiots reluctantly, with a heavy heart.Half an hour later, they agree to disagree on what looks like the dumbest horror flick ever made, curtains drawn, the only light coming in from the flickering streetlight. She’s not really paying attention, not really. It’s silly how they argue over the insignificant and petty things, but it wouldn’t be the same, it wouldn’t be them if they didn’t. There are times where she’s just in and out of the moment all at once. Not quite disassociating, not quite there either. Sometimes she feels the need to just be, appreciating the small victory of awkwardly stumbling through their feelings and finally, finally, figuring it all out. Because this, being on the couch, the back and forth of commentary on this stupidly predictable horrorflick, surrounded by all of him, warm and heavy, as she slides underneath him, was nice. This, them, it wasn’t what she thought it was going to be, how it was all going to turn out, but, as she draws his attention from the television, his familiar weight settling, she can’t help but think this is nice. Nice was such a dumb word, but, it’s whatever.“What are you looking at?” she mumbles, not quite able to look at his even dumber face.“I’m lookin’ at you.” Her hands fiddle with his shirt, and she can feel his steady heartbeat. His calm infuriated her. Here she was with a hurricane in her lungs, nerves on edge, mind switching between fight or flight, so wound up, all because he was looking at her. Gods, she needed to get a grip.His forehead wrinkles, fingers brushing her cheek, “Hey,” she doesn’t miss where his eyes fleetingly glance and her breath catches, “what’re you thinkin’ about?” She’s hyper aware of her, and him, and them. Feeling brave, her hand comes to the back of his neck to pull him close, and she’s about to show him exactly what she’s thinking about-

A shrill beeping breaks the silence that scares the shit out of her.

“Is that the fire alarm?”

“I swear to God,” he groans, as his forehead rests on her shoulder. Her heart’s gone into overdrive and she feels like her chest might cave.

She stumbles away from the couch, definitely not to escape. As soon as she cracks open the oven, a cloud of smoke comes, stinging her eyes.

“Shit,” she coughs, as she fans the oven with an oven mit. “He’s gonna kill us.”

“He rigged this thing to blow.”

“Don’t be ridiculous.”

He reaches out and yelps, snatching his hand back.

Arya keels over laughing. “Safety first. What are you, five? Didn’t your Mom ever tell to not just go sticking your hand without an oven mit?”

He’s shaking his hand, sucking in his teeth, as he tries to glare at her. He fails.

She brings out the chocolate chip charcoal and they take a moment of silence for the heart and soul Hot Pie poured into these poor charred victims.

He takes a bite, and she stares in disbelief.  "It’s not that bad.“

"Really?”

“Nope, no,” he spits into the trash, and the crumbs come tumbling out, “it’s terrible. We’re screwed.”

“I figured.” She carefully takes the tray and dumps it all into the garbage.

“You think he’ll notice if I run to the supermarket real quick and buy from the bakery?”

“Dumbass, of course he’ll notice. We should get him something anyway to apologize. Not cookies though. I got this.” She hops up on the counter and plucks the landline from it’s receiver and dials. Or tries. He steps into her space, hands skimming her thighs, taking his sweet time with his mouth on her neck.

“What,” and, just like that she’s breathless, “are you doing.”

“What are you doing?”

“I just-” asked you that, she was going to say, ready to argue, but she can’t remember exactly why, or what she wants. She doesn’t know whether to allow him more space or to trap him right where he stands. She likes it like this, where she’s sitting, just a little bit taller than him for once. Her knees drag up his sides and it has him pulling every inch of her firmly up against him. A hand finds it way into her hair, the other at her side, and it’s just not fair. Her head lazily rolls to the side, phone clattering to the ground, forgotten. She wants this.

“Hot Pie-”

“Arya-” , and, he’s laughing, nuzzling her neck. Why is he- “That’s not- my name, why-”

And, she’s laughing too when she realizes. “I know, I know, I’m sorry, I just-” She wants this. Wants him. And she doesn’t know when she’ll feel this brave again. Her hands on either side of his face, and her mouth comes crashing down on his, shutting him up. Eyes closed, she misses the look on his face but- He’s kissing her back, and she doesn’t miss the sound that he makes that has her hands planting themselves on his shoulders, legs securing themselves around his waist. -The remains of their take out litter their tiny dining table. “I’m still mad.”They should probably be ashamed that they don’t even have the decency to look the least bit remorseful or apologetic, but Gendry’s barely keeping his shit together, and it’s contagious.She nods to hide her grin, “Right, yeah. We’re really sorry.”“No, you’re not,” Hot Pie says, rolling his eyes, with a smile that’s equal parts fond and exasperated, as he stands to clean up. They share a knowing look across the table. Maybe they really are the worst, but she’s pretty sure she can live with that. -

so. this did not turn out the way i thought it would when i started. this was supposed to be a drabble @ me: you have no self control ffs get a hold of yourself. also this wasn’t supposed to have a title but i am obsessed with talk too much by coin and all their other songs plus it. fits.  perfectly. and to answer your question, anon, aaaalllllllllll my ships are laid out in my desktop layout. i didn’t wanna make a post out of it and i preferred something more permanent. please go and appreciate it because it’s the most coding i’ve ever done since 8th grade and i am so proud of myself haha[ao3]give me a number and a ship! :)

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?* Sansa and Littlefinger. No offense to anyone that ships it but I think he’s icky and that after years of being used and manipulated by men Sansa deserves something better with someone whose motives are clear and uncomplicated, someone who actually loves her and doesn’t just see her as a useful perk on his mission for power. 

Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP?* Hmm idk about this one. I think that Brienne and Tormund is a popular ship now? If so, I only BroTP that one. I am hardcore Jaime/Brienne trash so I can’t see her with anyone else haha.

Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion? Yes, but it wasn’t spiteful. I simply didn’t realize that someone I followed for an awesome gifset was a hardcore shipper of something that I don’t like and posted about it all the time. I just didn’t want it on my dash is all. 

Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?* Oh man. Yes. I do. my NoTP is Jon and Sansa. It used to not be. I used to like it and even understood it watching season 6. I also read some great fanfics by a couple of people I follow. But the fandom recently changed how I feel about it. And the more I think about it the more I think that it would be OOC for Jon. But that’s a personal opinion of course!

Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?* See above. Jon and Sansa. Not everyone who ships it is like that. In fact I’ve made good mutual friends with some people who ship it. But the radical ones and/or anti-Dany people were abusive to me and it turned me off of the ship as a whole because I started associating it with those people. 

Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?* Not really. I don’t hate most pairings. Like I have tried to say above, I am cool with people shipping with that want. If anything, fandoms are usually the problem, not the ships themselves haha. 

Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?* Not really. I guess the closest thing is that I used to be really into Sansa and Sandor/The Hound but now I primarily ship her with Pod. I realize that this is a 100% crack ship that will never be canon but I have become obsessed with it overnight haha. 

Have you received anon hate? What about?* I’ve received anon hate about shipping jonerys. People who claim that it’s gross for being incest, or anti-Dany people who claim that she will emasculate Jon or something. Basically nonsense. I also tried to make a meta about similarities between Sansa and Dany explaining why I love them both that really ruffled some feathers and I got some anon hate for that. 

Most disliked character(s)? Why? My least favorite characters are obvious ones. Walder Frey (may he rot in hell), Robin Arryn, Joffrey. I actually loved Ramsay because he was a really intriguing and terrifying villain. Plus he was sexy af. Gotta love my confusion about being attracted to an evil sadist. I like Littlefinger as a character even if I don’t like him with Sansa. Like Ramsay, he’s a cool villain. Great scheming. 

Most disliked arc? Why? Right now, Arya’s. I feel like her storyline with the Faceless Men was really disappointing and anti-climactic. I don’t know how I wanted it to end, but the way it ended was bad, to me. I think that there were lots of plot holes and that after all the buildup, it just should have felt more cathartic. I did like her murder of Walder Frey though.Second place goes to Jaime on the show. I don’t know why he is backsliding like this. I expected him to see through Cersei by now, and that speech he gave Edmure Tully was totally out of character and just really ugly. I feel like he’s back to season 1.

Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? Well apparently the fandom doesn’t like Dany. There are dedicated anti-Dany blogs, and I can’t understand that. I love her. Anyway, she is tied with Jon for my favorite character so I definitely love her despite the hate. I also, like I said above, really liked Ramsay haha. I am not sad he died or anything. I just think he was awesome. 

Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? Idk about this. I think some people in the fandom are mad that Sansa’s arc changed so drastically from the book. If I am right about that, I don’t agree. I love what D&D did with show Sansa. I am sad that she suffered under Ramsay, but she is stronger for it and I feel like for the first time she is really in charge of her own destiny. She is badass and the queen of the North as far as I’m concerned. Very big improvement over hanging out at the Vale if you ask me. 

Unpopular opinion about XXX character? Oh god. This will be very unpopular. I want Jon to take a break from the manbun. I get that people love the manbun. Fuck, I love the manbun. But I miss his flowing locks hahaha. 

Unpopular opinion about your fandom? Unpopular opinion? Idk with all the negativity going around, it’s probably unpopular to feel positive. So I’ll just say overall I love this fandom. I have met some people through loving Game of Thrones who I consider to be true friends even though we only know each other via tumblr. I love my mutuals, especially my jonerys family. 

Unpopular opinion about the manga/show? Idk if this unpopular, but I hate the Sand Snakes on the show. I think most people do? So I guess this isn’t unpopular. Idk I tend to agree with most people haha. 

If you could change anything in the show, what would you change? If I could change anything in the show, I would have Arya’s arc go better. Ask me again after season 7. If jonerys doesn’t happen, I’ll say I want to change that haha ;)

Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen… Instead of Jaime continuing to follow Cersei, I would have him turn on her in the eleventh hour and reconcile with Tyrion. Cersei is an amazing woman, but she’s got to go. I think it is wildly out of character for Jaime to continue to support her after her political climbing has endangered the lives of their children to the point of their deaths. I just feel that as a character Jaime should have evolved beyond this. He should have wised up before now. He has a good heart. She doesn’t. Oops. Bet THAT is my unpopular opinion. 

Does not shipping something ‘popular’ mean you’re in denial and/or biased? Absolutely not. Shipping something is entirely subjective and based on emotions. If you feel something about a non-canon or crack ship, that’s awesome. It means you think like an individual. It’s only a problem when you try to attack other people/ships out of anger that yours isn’t happening. 

What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom? The ship war between J*nsa and jonerys.

What is the purest ship in the fandom? Gendrya. Hands down. Haha.

What are your thoughts on crack ships? They are so much fun! The more the better. I want to write about my secret one one day. It will get no reads but I’ll be happy haha.

Popular character you hate? I don’t hate any characters, especially not popular ones. 

Unpopular character you love? Like I said above, Dany, apparently. And Ramsay. Lol. 

Would you recommend XXX to a friend? Why or why not? Of course. I force everyone in my life to watch Game of Thrones!

How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX? My dream ending has Daenerys and Jon falling in love and successfully uniting the kingdoms against the White Walkers. They win the war at the cost of many lives. King’s Landing is destroyed in the process. It turns out that Dany isn’t barren and they have a child. But when King’s Landing is being rebuilt, Dany realizes that what she wanted all along wasn’t a throne, it was a family and a place to belong. She thought that meant carrying on her family’s dynastic tradition but knows now that she can be happy with Jon in the North. The Red Keep is rebuilt without an Iron Throne and Tryion establishes a senate with representatives from all seven kingdoms and Essos. I know this won’t happen. It’s my wish though haha.
