Heroes For Sale

So, I haven't posted anything on this blog for a while, mainly because I have been busy with not only school, but also extracurricular activities and my sports team with the university. However, Andy Mineo's debut album, Heroes For Sale, was released today. I'll be honest, although Andy is one of my favorite rappers, I didn't have very high expectations since I'm more of a hip-hop purist and I knew Andy would go for more of an electronic feel. Consequently, I didn't pre-order the album or give it any extra hype. I decided to listen to a few songs last night to decide if it was worth purchasing... I immediately decided to buy the hard copy.

Andy brought something unique with this album, and it wasn't solely the production (which was very unique), but it was his raw honesty in his verses. There are many Christian emcees who share about their own lives, but I have never listened to an album where a Christian was able to express their many shortcomings and struggles as a person. I feel as if Andy let me take a deep look into his life, the good and the bad. Since I pressed the play button, I have been constantly edified, encouraged, and entertained by this album.

Long story short, go buy this album! Andy did a phenomenal job and it is clearly the best album I've heard in 2013 (something I definitely didn't think I would say after hearing W.L.A.K). Follow the links below for purchasing options.

By the Lord’s grace, my friend and I have been working hard on putting on a Christian Hip-Hop concert at University of California, Davis (where I attend). I am excited to announce Hip-Hologetics Concert 2013!!! We will be bringing 3 of the best artists that Lamp Mode Recordings has to offer: Timothy Brindle, Hazakim and Stephen the Levite. Although I know some of my followers are not in California and can not attend, I hope that you can support this concert with your prayer. God placed this concert on our hearts and it is finally becoming a reality.
