#it's my one pet peeve of going to see a movie in theaters

One of my pet peeves is when:

I want to see a movie and invite my husband/mom/brother;

They outright say they don’t want to see the movie OR bail at the last minute;

I decide to go by myself (because, while I enjoy seeing movies with other people, I have no issue seeing them by myself); and

They try to talk me out of it.

I’m willing to reschedule if it’s a case of “I feel sick/tired tonight, but I really want to see it with you; let’s go on [specific date that the movie is definitely still going to be in theaters].” But, if you have put me off multiple times for the same movie, or your reason is just that you’d rather do something else tonight, I’m not going to wait on you until the movie disappears from theaters. And, if you don’t want to go at all, you don’t get to tell me not to go by myself because it makes you feel guilty (when you don’t actually need to feel guilty because I do not care!!!) or you just think it’s weird/sad to see movies alone (which it’s not but also it’s none of your business anyway).

Do you have any hobbies? If so, what ones?

I paint. Mostly portraits. Though, perhaps painting portraits of people whose deaths I feel responsible for can hardly be called a hobby. My housekeeper is always getting on me to paint something that isn't designed to cause me pain. But, at least the portraits are a way to keep my loved ones with me.

I also have an extensive library, collected over the centuries. I love reading, both for fun and doing research on various things. My pet project is collecting books on Necromancy to try to find a way to save Ana from herself. Though, some would call that a fool's errand.

Be honest. Who could you trust most with a secret?

Beverly. She's been with me for a very long time, and knows all of my secrets. She's the one who makes the arrangements when we need to move to a knew city. And on more than one occasion she's shoved me into a box and mailed me to one of my friends. I've been trusting her with my life for over two hundred years, longer than even Benedict has been alive.

Do you dream often? What do you dream about?

It's rare for a vampire to dream. we usually sleep like the dead. Though, I sometimes have nightmares about the night my family died. I don't know if I've ever told anyone about that. Though it wouldn't surprise me if Beverly knows.

Have you ever been in love?

Twice. Once upon a time, back when I was human, I wanted to marry Josephine Leighton. But then we both died and put an end to that. Now, I'm in love with Catie. I'm really hoping for a happy ending, this time. I want to be standing with her in my arms when the world ends.

What is your least favorite thing in the world? What is your pet peeve?

My least favorite thing in the world? How would you even quantify that? As for a pet peeve, I'm going to go with people talking in movie theaters. You've paid for the privilege of watching this movie. So, watch it. Why pay money to watch a movie and then talk though it so that you don't actually know what is going on? But, even worse, you've now made it so that nobody else knows what's going on in this movie that they paid to see. If you want to talk through a movie, wait until it comes out on DVD or comes to Netflix or Amazon Prime. Don't waste, not only your money, but the money of everybody around you going to a theater and ruining the experience for everyone.

Would you team up with your worst enemy if it was your only option?

Absolutely. I'd probably have to keep her on a tight leash. But, I would absolutely team up with Ana if it was to do something good that would help people.

I am a very quiet backseat kid, I would barely ever talk. But once you get to know me, I’m actually a very loud and rowdy gremlin. I am the one who would always start the trouble and slip away after a while to watch it happen and drinking apple juice. I’m about 5’9 in height, and currently everyone I meet is taller than me and that makes me really salty about it. My fragging knees look like they’ve been through years of torture because I’m a clumsy ass and keep slipping on wet puddles of water. I have dark black hair and my eyes are just plain brown, no green or anything. I have a ton of sarcasm, and I’m often really irritable whenever I wake up. I’m from China, and yes, of course I know Chinese, everyone always thinks I’m from the U.S.A or some shit. As you can see, I swear a lot, but it’s often unintentional. My voice sounds quite young and everyone thinks it belongs to a 15 year old, and somehow I actually have an okay singing voice. I long for the day I could play an electric guitar, but never find the time to. Oh wait, I forgot to tell you I’m a female-

I would always wear a t-shirt with a jacket, some black pants, and shoes that match my shirt when I’m always outside, but when I get back home, I’d just throw on my pajamas. I don’t really like going outside, but it’s kind of hard to chill out at your house when all your friends are extroverts and drag you out of the house to go somewhere. My likes are drawing, soft pillows, my bed, very upbeat music, playing online games, random soft plushies I’d find at a crappy store, being home alone, french fries, very cute but worthless figurines, horror movies, and books with vampires and ghosts. I wear a golden necklace around my neck, which was given to me by my mom, and I’m never taking it off ever.

I dislike being the center of attention, being stared at, being made fun of, and just failing in general. I prefer to work alone, but I’d always love if some close friends joined in and helped me.

I’m a daydreamer, so I’m always being distracted by random thoughts I’ve had all day and forget what I’m about to do, maybe this is the reason why I’m so forgetful. My Zodiac Sign is a Taurus, but I barely act like a stereotypical one. I’m classified as a theater kid, since I could be really loud and annoying if I wanted to, but I usually don’t show that side to anyone I don’t know. I’m suffering from ADHD and anxiety, but that ain’t stopping me from doing random shit. I’m a hoarder, I would just store my secret stash of random shit I’ve collected throughout the year and never tell anyone about it.

One of my pet peeves is that I hate it when people talk over me or just interrupt me when I’m talking. Like, imagine if you’re talking about a funny moment you had when you were a child, but one of your friends interrupt you in the middle of your story to tell their story, and now you’re stuck listening to your friend’s story even though you’ve already heard it a thousand times because they’ve already texted you the story and keep reminding you about it. Speaking from personal experience…

ah! hello! thank you for being patient with me, this did take longer than i expected to write out. i'll be matching you up with rid15 fracture!

He had been drawn to you from your quiet personality from the beginning, but when you open up to him and actually talk with him, your rambunctious nature slipping, he enjoys it much more than your usual silence. Fracture sees a lot of himself in you.

Poor Fracture, he feels as though he should be taking care of your body whenever you need it. If you do inform him of your ability to, you know, be self sufficient, he will deny it to the fullest. Why would your body be littered with scars if you could bandage them yourself?

He, much like you, also has a little 'crow collection,' full of random rocks and shiny pins that his minicons have brung him over the megacycles.

Fracture will always kind of do a cute little thing, where if there's a pause in a conversation he'll look to you to make sure he's not interrupting anything. He's such a sweetheart.

He'll try to keep you from being the center of the attention. You're his pretty thing, no one else should get to look at you.

I should finish The Secret History of the Mongols… I generally don’t read books because my reading focus is abysmal lol. I read what I want to read exactly at that moment and immediately jump to other things I want to know about, so it’s rare that I finish thick books.

Since the pandemic happened I have never visited one lol. But in general I also don’t really watch movies.

Long dresses. Also I usually wear hijab to meet people I know. My clothes have to be comfortable and easily manageable, if not I get grumpy easily. I’m also rather particular about sleeves because one of my pet peeves is long sleeves catching on food and I dislike white because I have to really take care not to stain it.

Is it bad to admit that I really love my drawing style? I think I have a unique drawing style that people can hardly find anywhere but in mine, and I work hard for it🌞 My coloring though needs Work. But I both am kinda afraid of color and in principle dislike it compared to creating shapes.

I used to have shoujo artstyle. This year my drawing style has changed rapidly, and I was told now my artstyle looks josei. I am very pleased with this development 🌞

I also love my oc designs. I care a Lot and work very hard on them.

Contentwise if it doesn’t pass at least 80% of my current standards I’m not releasing it. Comics and writings tho, doodles not included.

What’s something you’re currently obsessed with?

What I personally call trifecta; in Hetalia, Mongolia-Kazakhstan-Russia. Or what I also call Russia and his Boobs. I think about them everyday.

My thesis. God I hate school.

Designing clothes. But unlike gardening I don’t find much value in designing, even though I quite like it, so I guess it’ll stay mostly unexplored but we’ll see in the future.

I am a believer. But I’m a Muslim who doesn’t actually pray, so… 💦 but I fast, don’t eat pork and other kinds of forbidden meat, and don’t consume alcohol. But another reason I don’t drink is also for a fear that I might stab people. What if I’m a crazy drunk? So I guess in general I’m actually pretty religious.

Cas' Alien Romulus thought dump

hello, hello! asked by no one yet still you receive!

first and foremost, there will be spoilers! I'm unaware of when this will be going up in terms of time from release but nevertheless! you have been warned!

second, so many content warnings, here we go! this is also just about everything you can expect from the movie too:

violence and blood, body horror, incest baby (i might not actually mention this but like), acts of violence against a man with autism and a black man, death and discussions of killing other survivors, violence against men and women alike.

alright let's go!

I want to start with my initial thoughts!

seeing the trailer for the first time, i was so excited! first because its an Alien movie and second this one was to be directed by the guy who made the most recent Evil Dead movie! those are scary movies!

Archie R was set to be in this and he was! he stared in Netflix's Shadow and Bone (which has been cancelled) and played a character i simply disliked in the books. so I was intrigued by his role in this movie.

I think I saw the trailer in April as my family and I were seeing Civil War? and I knew immediately my dad and I were seeing this, no doubts no questions we will be watching that movie in the theatres nothing will stop us.

I've developed a love for horror movies in recent years and this has created a bridge for my dad and I to bond over his favorite movie franchise, Alien. We've seen Covenant, we've seen Prometheus, we saw The Predator, we watched Prey when it released, we have seen every iteration to come out since I've developed this love for horror. My family and I have watched him fight for his life playing Alien: Isolation every New Years and watch as he makes no progress from where we left off!

I enjoyed Prometheus, Covenant, and Alien 1979! so I was pretty excited to go and see it :3

my thoughts on the sound and music!

in space no one can hear you scream because there's no sound in space!

one of my dads biggest pet peeves in sci-fi movies is all the noise in space so he loves these movies for their accuracy!

the music was so perfect and delightful.

at a certain point towards the end, Rain is sucked into space through a hole in the cargo hull and there is suddenly no sound. everytime there is a scene out in space it is silent except for rocket rumblings and its breathtaking.

I don't remember much of the music but creating music that helps elevate an already tense scene is magical.

Benjamin Wallfisch was the composer for this movie. He's done music for several films I've enjoyed. This includes It Chapter One and Two, Twisters, The Invisible Man, The Darkest Minds, and several other movies.

I listened to the soundtrack by itself, and it's amazing. Even out of the theater and without having the movie in front of me, it manages to create such an atmosphere.

after seeing it a second time I cannot exclaim enough how well the music elevates the scenes.

my thoughts on effects and prop usage and sets!

oh my God! the use of practical effects and robots or puppets or whatever they used for models was magnificent i cannot praise it enough.

prior to seeing it and even before day of, i had discussed with a friend and my dad how we no longer use practical effects and everything is cgi.

I brought this up to my friend over the Beasts most recent design in Marvel, because I still think the make up originally used in the X-Men movies is magical and magnificent i cannot sing the make up departments praises enough. it is hard work and it pays off!

I told my dad this conversation and we discussed how it creates a much more powerful performance from your actors if they have something to act against.

Blackbox acting is such a great skill for an actor to have.

for those who are unfamiliar, Blackbox acting is green screen acting where your actor is building a scene using only black boxes to mimic their set.

this isn't to say i hate green screen acting!! I think movies such as Avatar and the most recent Planet of the Apes movies are masterpieces! I think they force your actor to be uncomfortable and use their own skills to create a believable performance, scene, and their own character. it forces to use every tool they have! they create this beautiful performances which will only be caught in a computer generated playback that will then be animated over. your emotions have to transfer and work as your entirely brand new model! you have to ensure the performance you're giving will move your audience!

however, the reactions to what you have right in front of you is just much more thrilling than any performance an actor can pull off by themselves.

Using suits and models to help create a real, physical monster is an art in itself, and I have such admiration for make-up artists and prop designers.

The sets were all physical as opposed to a blue screen backdrop or foam furniture. They talked about how they wanted as little blue or green in this movie as possible and wanted everything practical and physical.

Alien movies are delightful, I love physical props and sets and make-up. I think it's so beautiful and amazing.

They made suits for the alien, as well as animatronics for it and the face huggers.

For The Offspring, it looks like they cover the boy in prosthetic makeup, which is an art of its own that I love.

They put so much effort and it 1000% shows I love it.

my thoughts on the characters! this will also go over how I felt about performances if I have any!

so my first thought and the one im most delighted over is my darling Andy! Andy the Android/synthetic/artifical person! when he was first introduced i was ecstatic because that is an autistic man! an autistic black man is one of our main characters and I love him!

and then it turned out he is a robot which i suppose is fine because they're inherently autistic.

Andy creates this very interesting dynamic because not only is he autistic, but he's also black! this absolutely changes how other characters treat him and the context behind it.

most characters are consistently mean to Andy. to the point where people are physically violent against him. in one of his first few scenes, he is attacked by three punk kids who can not be older than 10 or 12, which is crazy! but characters consistently treat Andy poorly, Bjorn being one of the most prominent and consistent ones. Bjorns' reasoning of a synthetic making the call to kill his partners in the mines is a very loose and faulty one.

David Jonsson gave an excellent performance as Andy, down to the voice, reactions, and movement! There are times you can almost see where the computers brain is thinking and processing, and that was amazing to watch.

David did amazing, I will get you that Oscar, and I think Andy is the character all time he is so me I want to give him a kiss

The second character I'm delighted to get into and talk performances is Raine! played by one Cailee Spaeny <3

Cailee is such an amazing actress. She was amazing in Civil War, I didn't watch Priscella, but Cailee is amazing, she also did Pacific Rim Uprising which I remember liking when it came out!

Raine and Andy have this sibling dynamic that's interesting because Andy's coded primary goal is to do what is good for Raine, everything else is secondary. She holds him very close, to the point she is willing to make sacrifices to take an android to a planet that doesn't allow androids. (which is really interesting, I want to know everything about this world).

I don't have much thoughts on the others,

Kay and Bjorn create a cousins baby whether Bjorn knew or not I'm not sure. Tyler was played by the guy who played Mal I think he did great, good job getting to the big screen.

I just have the highest praise for David and Cailee

my thoughts on the story and plot! this is where spoilers will be the heaviest.

I was actually kind of intrigued when I first saw the trailer simply because you can do so much with an Alien movie and I was curious on how it would tie-in, how it connects to Ripley and such.

We begin in space with a craft flying towards the wreckage of the Nostromo, which is the space station from the first movie. anyways they've got this thing they're cutting into and they walk away in hazmat suits and it pans up to this indentation of the alien head and holy shit I love these movies.

Raine takes Andy with her to an appointment which, to sum it up is she wanted to leave her planet and there was a change in policy and it wouldn't happen!

blah blah blah there's a lot of stuff and dynamic showings here. Raines ex is like hey we can get these cryostatsis pods to go to this other planet off this space station in our orbit let's do it. also we need your robot brother because he can get us access to things.

I don't want to delve into all of it cause it's a lot but I love that it started as a simple task to go and get these cryo pods and then it ruined Raine's life. absolutely changed everything about it.

they said it would be 30 minutes, in and out. they had 36 hours until the romulus space station crashed into the Jackson ring.

it felt like such a natural story progression, nothing felt rushed. everything felt well paced.

the alien in this one shows signs of electricity having been adapted into it which is such a great concept, because Bjorn had inserted a cattle prod into the cocoon it was in, thus giving the idea it adapts to anything put into the environment of the cocoon.

my thoughts on the movie as a whole after walking out of the theatre!

I was so delighted and felt different leaving that theater I am not joking

I think this movie is my favorite Alien next to the original one!

I think this by itself has the potential to be one of my favorite movies, ever.

I don't think I had any grievances walking out of there, I really hope they make another following Raine and Andy!

I hope they let fede do a few more of these :)

Are you afraid of the dark? >> I am not. I don't recall ever having a fear of darkness, in fact. Not even as a child.

Do you watch American Horror Story? >> I watched a few seasons (Murder House, Coven, Asylum, Apocalypse, parts of others) a long time ago. I liked some parts of Coven but found other parts insufferable. I did think Apocalypse was cool, iirc. I don't know, it's hard to like AHS; it feels like something I should enjoy -- lurid, pulpy, smutty, all my favourite adjectives are here -- but then I watch it and I'm just like *sighs heavily*. I don't know, man. It just hits too many wrong notes for me, and those notes are usually very prominent elements of the show (a main-character casting, for example) so I can't just ignore them.

Does your hometown have any urban legends/scary stories? >> I don’t know any urban legends about any place I’ve lived. I’m sure they exist, but I never thought to seek them out.

What’s the scariest nightmare you remember having? .

Are you medicated? >> Self-medicated, sure.

Author's Note: This kinda just came together as I was waiting for the melatonin to kick in. I finished just as my eyes started getting drowsy, so I didn't actually reread or edit it yet. I'll do that in the morning, but I wanted to at least put it out there for yall! As usual, this is an unspecified story, so take your pick of Urban or Jack.

He grabbed a fist full of the back of your top, yanking you backwards into his body, the wind getting knocked right out of you in the process. It all happened so fast you couldn't register what was happening as you tried to whip around, your body held to a solid body with an arm wound around your waist tightly. You tilt your head to look back to the culprit, a sigh of relief that it was just your boyfriend that had just man-handled you.

"Are you fucking crazy? You could have gotten hit!" His voice is slightly louder than his usual tone, the alarm in his voice and the genuine fear in his eyes has you forgetting that he just cursed at you. You turn around in his arms, your own going around his neck tightly as you lift up to your tiptoes.

"I'm okay, I promise."

"No, you're not okay!"

"Yes, I am. I'm alright, nothing happened, baby." You pull back from his neck, to look in his eyes, the fear and worry in them breaking your heart, but you held contact so he could really understand what you were saying to him. "Look at me." You instruct.

"I saw the car, I swear to you that I did. I wasn't about to get hit, I promise. Nothing was going to happen, I was not about to step out into the street." You cup his rosey cheeks gently in your hands as you force him to look at you, his eyes blinking away the stinging tears that threatened to shed.

"You just- I saw you- fuck, baby,"  his exhales a deep breath, his large hand aggressively runs through his hair as he pulls away from you.

As much as you wanted to hold him close to you, your small hands were no match for his strength as he takes a few steps away. He paces for a few seconds, his hands shaking as he tries to wring out the stress he was feeling.

You don't know what to do, torn between wanting to hold him but also wanting to give him a bit of space to cool down. You take a moment to replay the last few minutes.

"You keep our spot in line, I'm going to go across and get us some tickets." You suggest, your hand coming to your face to shield yourself from the Louisville sun as you looked up at your boyfriend. It was a nice day on your trip to his home town, deciding to just spend the day out and about enjoying each other's company. Currently the two of you were in a long line at a local ice cream parlor when you noticed a small indie theater across the street playing films you hadn't heard of. You wanted to pick a movie to watch, but also still wanted to get ice cream.

"Or, I can go across the street and get us tickets while you wait in line for the ice cream." He smirks down at you. You knew it was because he wanted to make sure you didn't pay for a thing, which was definitely a pet peeve of yours.

"I don't think so." You press a quick kiss to his lips as you pull away from him quickly, hurriedly stepping off of the sidewalk and taking just a few steps into the street.

You cautiously step towards him, his hands aggressively wiping at his reddened face, as you put a hand on his bicep, careful not to startle his fragile state.

"Baby," you coo.

"Just- just give me a second." He says, trying to will his tears to stop falling. You don't listen, rounding his body to his front as you pull him in for a hug, his face immediately burrowing into your neck.

"I'm sorry for scaring you, love. I promise the situation was under control, I saw the car. I took a few steps into the street where the parked cars were, that way I could see more clearly where traffic was. I swear I wasn't in any danger." You reassure him, your hand lovingly caressing the hair at the nape of his neck, your other one rubbing his upper back. You feel him squeeze your waist every now and again, just to make sure that you were indeed okay and still with him.

You let him take his time to recoup, not caring that you had lost your place in line or that by the time you finally get around to buying the tickets the movie will have already began. All you cared about was making sure he knew that everything was okay. You held him tightly to you, trying to squeeze out the fear that had him feeling trapped at the moment. You wanted to shield him from the dread he was experiencing; you didn't need to be a genius to know that he was currently recovering from thinking that you were about to be hit by a car.

His mind was racing, plagued by images that could only be described as his worst nightmare. The two of you were so entwined with one another that when he thought you were about to be hit by that car, his whole life flashed before his eyes—you were his whole life. He couldn't shake the feeling of dread and mourning that had overtaken him, no matter how tightly you held him or how many times you told him you were okay. In his mind, you were nowhere near okay because he was nowhere near okay.

"Why don't we go back to the Airbnb, hm? Why don't we go back and get some rest, I think that'll do us both some good." You suggest to him softly, your head turning slight as you tried to nudge his face from your shoulder but he wouldn't budge. You settle for placing kisses on the side of his face, covering his temple, cheek, and jaw in light, reassuring kisses.

With a more forceful nudge, he finally pulls away, his eyes and face red and puffy as he finally looks at you and sees that you're okay. You pull his face close to yours as you press light kisses to his lips, whispering that you're alright inbetween. Pulling away from him, you grab his hand and walk back down the block to the car that he had parked there earlier. He doesn't say much, just following behind you plainly, his mind and body completely drained of energy as you guide him to the passenger side door.

After you guide him into his seat, buckling his seatbelt, and rounding the car to the drivers seat, you adjust your seat and mirrors to your liking before pulling out of the parking spot. You reach over for his hand, but he pulls it away, mumbling something like "please just focus on the road." You try not to take it to heart, his anxiety probably still running high as you make sure to abide by every traffic law to the highest extent—not even doing 30 in a 25.

Once at the Airbnb, you guide him out of the car and into the house; once again his body just going through the motions as he lets you lead the way. You bringing him straight to the bedroom, the two of you both deserving a good nap to recover from the day's events. You sit him on the bed, kneeling to take his shoes off his feet, slowly undoing each set of knots. It was now that you noticed your own hands shaking, but you ignore your own anxiety. You look up at him from between his legs, his sad eyes looking at you in a way that you never want him to look at you again.

You lean up on your knees, your face coming to rest against his abdomen and he folds over just a bit to engulf you in a protective hug. Your embrace is short lived as you pull away from him, tugging at the end of his shirt to take off of him. You remove your own clothes, throwing on the shirt that he just had on. You sadly note his lack of sly comments, usually making you blush with his teasing words whenever he sees you taking your clothes off. This was truly how you knew what happened today really had an affect on him.

You pull the covers away from the bed slipping in and beckoning him to join you in the warm confines of the bedding. You lie against the pillows, your arms open to him as he lays his weight against you, his head coming to rest in the crook of your neck with the rest of his body sprawled out on top of you between your legs. You bring your arms around him, your legs wrapping around him as well, as you hold him close to you.

"I love you." You whisper to him, words you know he desperately wants to hear.

"I love you too, baby. I- I really don't know what I would have done if you had gotte—"

"And you won't have to know. I'm right here with you, baby, I'm right here." You cut him off, not wanting him to finish the sentence. The two of you leave the conversation at that, your hand coming to rub his back and the other scratching at his scalp until the both of you fall asleep.

1. If you lived in Encanto, what job would you have? 

I’d like to be a teacher if they had a school there, that’d be really fun.

Lots of fruits probably, I don’t know what kind of fruit is native to Colombia but if you do then yeah those ones. Chocolate probably too.

It is a little annoying that the ending of the movie is rushed, but I get it yknow it’d be hard to fit in a lot of realistic development in the end there. That’s what fanfic is for babeyyyy!

As for fic related, I gotta say I’m not a huge fan of the Bruno kidnapping Mirabel trope. I do kinda get the appeal, especially back when it was a new idea, but mainly I just think those Brunos are too angry and/or confident for my taste. I actually kinda want to tackle the idea myself just to see what I’d do with it.

Hands down Reme from Candlelight by @clichejoe ! I think it is the only fic I’ve read that centers on an OC, but she is just everything. I’d die for her.

I’m in love with @hot-tortilla-fish ‘s Bruno gf OC. I can’t remember her name oof I’m so sorry, but her design is just so beautiful and she looks so good with Bruno. We love weird rat man x weird bug lady. So cute.

A/N: woof woof i’m the ceo of soft content bitches ❕ one of my biggest pet peeves with sakusa’s fanon is ppl forgetting he’s literally... just super fcking dramatic like he could be a theater kid if he wanted to /hj so i wanted to try writing him as a soft still dramatic boifie is it probably ooc? yeah... do i give a fuck? no.

- Unlike popular belief, Kiyo isn’t going to cry if you hold his hand. If anything, it’s one of the few displays of affection that truly gets him blushing a bright pink.

- He does get kind of annoyed if you hug him or do anything that requires too much physical contact too suddenly, give him a little warning or ask him; He’ll almost always say yes, unless he’s sweaty from practice.

- As long as you’re both clean and sanitized, he’s willing to indulge you.

- He’s not super big on PDA but he’ll always have an arm thrown around your shoulders or wrapper around your waist.

- A big fan of subtle matching accessories, he’ll probably buy you matching key rings and phone cases. Don’t make fun of him though, he’ll get embarrassed and kind of uncomfortable; it’s one of his Love Languages afterall.

- He likes seeing you wearing his clothes, he’ll have a few things he exclusively has just for you but he also has some he’d rather not share. The latter category is mostly dress shirts, formal wear, anything that might stain easily or you’d need in fancy situations, but things like extra t-shirts or hoodies are as much his as yours (just tell him you’re taking anything and make sure you wash it before giving it back).

- Sakusa has a sensitive nose so he loves the way you sometimes smell like him, even if it’s just a little bit, when you wear his jackets or hoodies he likes knowing you’re going to smell like him for the day.

- He really likes indoor dates, from staying inside with you at home or going to museums or stores. He tends to favors the dates where you’ll choose things for each other, he takes getting you gifts super seriously and will spend hours making sure what he’s getting you is up to his standards.

- Talking about gifts, he’ll treasure anything you give him. His favorite gift you ever got him was a cologne, it was one he’d mentioned in passing to you because it was meant to be softer on the nose, and for his birthday you ended up getting him that and a clock.

- The fact you thought about him and listened to what he’d said made him very happy. He knows he’s often seen as intimidating and sarcastic, people tend to take what he says wrong or way too literally/liberally.

- Sakusa isn’t afraid of being blunt with you, he doesn’t like sugar coating his words and you’re no exception, he tries being more kind with his word choice but at the end of the day he won’t hesitate saying what’s on his mind.

- So whenever he compliments you, keep in mind he absolutely means it and he won’t hesitate to repeat it (unless you ask him to do so too much, he’ll get blushy and annoyed).

- He really wants to get a dog with you. Not any dog though, he wants a big dog he can take on walks and running with him, probably wants a siberian husky, would name him Mr Clean.

- Is the type of guy who’ll be like “the dog sleeps on its bed” but you’ll find him with said dog cuddling together under a blanket after a hard day. Sakusa is in love with Clean, he’d die for him, he even calls him your son.

- Got him little paw-gloves for when he’s cleaning the floor and he’s got chemicals around him so his paw beans don’t get irritated.

- An underrated comedy master, Iwaizumi says he has the sense of humor Atsumu wishes he had. He doesn’t even think twice before speaking with his teammates which leads to ridiculously funny exchanges, the best part is that he doesn’t seem to understand that he’s being hilarious so his face quite literally stays the same.

- Before dating you, his room was kind of boring (read: that one Haikyuu manga cover Furadate made for Christmas), black covers, white walls, etc., basically a minimalist nightmare but when you started dating he kind of got into keeping knick knacks that remind him of you or from dates with you, he has a few of your things laying around too. It’s still clean, he’d rather die than have a messy or dirty room, but it’s got more personality.

-  Has an extra MSBY jersey for you and his homescreen is a picture of you wearing it next to him; he’s whipped for you. He won’t let anyone unlock his phone because of it, one time Komori almost saw it and he had a mini-heart attack.

- Has you saved as “[Name] 💖” and gets super annoyed when anyone (Atsumu) teases him about it.

- He likes the intimacy of waking up together and performing a morning routine with you. Seeing you standing in the mirror brushing your teeth while chatting about your day or while you do your skincare routines.

- He's better at holding phone calls with you rather than texting - he can be kind of dry and he knows it, he’s also busy often which leads to many gaps between the responses; it’s a mess. So he’d rather call you, that way he can also make his tone/intentions known easier! the

- Not big on pet names for you, the most he’d do is “honey” or “dear”, he’d rather call you by your name or a nickname.

- On the other hand, he’s a big softy for the pet names you have for him; he’ll act like he hates them, especially if you call him out in public, but in private he gets blushy and his voice softens when he talks to you afterwards.

- Arguments are rare because of this, he knows when to compromise - so if his partner can’t it’s a really big no for him and would lead to a very short relationship - but he also wants you to know he’s not a pushover and he also needs you to compromise as well.

- Likes intertwining your pinkies together when you’re walking down the street, it’s not super noticeable to others but he’s still holding you tightly in his own way.

- I said it before but Kiyoomi isn’t against holding you as long as you’re clean (as in; took a bath, clothes are washed, etc.)! He likes being able to hold you tightly during movies, just being there with you is soothing to him.

- Very dramatic when it comes to important dates and anniversaries, he acts like he’s cool with it as if he hadn’t spent a week planning the bouquet of flowers he has in his locker alongside a handwritten note he has his mom check just in case he made a mistake. It's because of annoying people like those teenagers that I almost exclusively go to the Alamo Drafthouse, even though it's a good 30-minute drive each way. People talking/texting during a movie is one of my biggest pet peeves, which is why whenever I do go to an AMC, I make sure to have a seat in the back row, where at the very least, I won't hear people talking behind me. But I feel very fortunate to have a Drafthouse in my state...and I usually only go to an AMC if they're doing a re-release, like last year for The Exorcist.

And I really should put my phone on the other side of the room when I watch movies at home. Even tonight, while watching Peeping Tom, I couldn't help but check my email/Instagram...and I definitely missed a part of the movie because of it.

And streaming? While I do think it is a good thing, I hate the fact that it's replacing physical media, as well as the experience of seeing a movie in a theater. Things getting dropped on Netflix or Max less than two weeks after a film's release doesn't give people much of an incentive to go to a theater.

This was a really interesting video about the decline of movie theaters.

The death of the movie theater is largely the fault of the movie industry itself: putting everything on streaming ASAP devalues going to a theater, tickets and concessions are expensive, people are often rude in the theater and never penalized (unless you go to an Alamo Drafthouse), you have to sit through 30 minutes of ads and trailers before you actually get to the movie, a lot of movies are not advertised well, movies have lost their cultural prominence due to the increasing fragmentation of the former monoculture, etc.

As for me, I'm reluctant to go to the theater because I have a much better time at home. Yes, at home you can be interrupted by a variety of factors. I do my best to consciously make time and set up my living room accordingly. I make sure I have 2+ hours to watch a movie. I turn out the lights. I keep my phone across the room so I'm not tempted to grab it. I usually succeed in having an immersive experience.

I recall an Eyebrow Cinema video where he said watching a movie in a theater forces you to focus on the film alone. You aren't tempted to stop the film to fold laundry or text people. True in theory-- however, rude people can sure take you out of the movie. When a friend and I went to see Godzilla Minus One in a theater, we were enthralled by the movie-- then shaken out of that enrapture during THE CLIMACTIC SCENE by dumbass teenagers climbing over the seats and watching TikTok videos behind us. These kids know they can go to a park, climb a jungle gym, and watch TikTok all for free, right?

The whole movie business in general is such a mess right now. Between streaming being its own shitshow and AI and whatnot, the drama behind the scenes seems more interesting than any of the big Hollywood tentpoles that keep flopping. I don't think theaters will go away, but they will be more niche, maybe catering to smaller artier films and revivals of older movies.

The Boyfriend

Summary: Slytherin and Hufflepuff meet their daughter’s boyfriend for the first time, and Slytherin has a few concerns.

Hufflepuff closes the door behind her daughter, who stepped out to privately wish her boyfriend goodbye on the front stoop, and turns to Slytherin.

“He seems like a sweet kid,” she smiles. Slytherin follows her into the kitchen with a disgruntled expression. He leans against the countertop as she begins washing the dishes.

“What’s taking her so long,” he eyes the door. “It only takes a couple of seconds to say goodbye to someone.”

“They spent the entire night with us. They probably just want a little alone time,” Hufflepuff replies. She glances at him when he sighs and crosses his arms. “Do I sense a little disdain for our daughter’s boyfriend?”

Slytherin scowls.

“I don’t like him,” he states plainly. “He gives me...bad boy vibes.” His scowl deepens when she laughs incredulously.

“Bad boy vibes?”

“Yes,” he says indignantly. “Bad boy vibes! Did you see his smirk when she laughed at his joke?"

"You smirk a lot,” she points out, to which he grudgingly admits. “Besides, is it bad that he can make her laugh?"

"'Course not," he huffs. "But did you see how he put his arms around her?”

"I'm pretty sure that's called a hug, honey."

Slytherin steps between her and the sink. She shoots him a look as water drips on the floor.

“Please get out of my way, Slytherin. You’re acting like a child.”

He takes her hands into his own, not caring that they’re wet. “Honey, you’re not listening to me.”

“I am! I just don’t agree with you.” She continues before Slytherin can object. “You’re worrying over nothing. Our daughter is old enough to make her own decisions on who she hangs out with and what she does with her time."

“She’s only in her seventh year—”

“Slytherin," she says sternly. “Our baby is grown now, believe it or not. I trust her judgment. You should too.”

His brows furrow, and he doesn’t respond right away.

"It's not that I don't trust her," he finally says. "I just don't want her to get hurt."

Hufflepuff softens in this rare moment of vulnerability—his grumpiness and frustration often mask his fears.

"We can't control what happens," she says gently. "We can't control who does what or who hurts who. But what we can control is what we do and how we act." Slytherin remains silent as he considers her words. "I think the best thing we can do is support our daughter. And if things don't end well in their relationship, she will know who to come to: the people who have always been there for her."

Her words sink in, and Slytherin nods.

"You're right."

"'Course I'm right."

He smiles somberly. "I’ve only ever wanted to protect her."

"You will," she assures, pulling him into an embrace. "But you will do so at a healthy and reasonable distance. No threatening the boy."

Slytherin snorts and says, "I'm not that type of dad." He rests his chin on top of her head. "But if he breaks her heart, I keep no promises."

"Good," she murmurs into his shirt. “I'll be right behind you.”

Their moment of peace is interrupted by the sound of the front door opening and closing. They see their daughter, Giselle, standing by the doorway with a flushed grin.

"Hey kiddo," Slytherin smiles.

She makes a face. “I'm 18, Dad. I'm not a kid anymore."

"Alright." Hufflepuff notices a familiar gleam in his eye and tries not to smile as he continues. "Do you prefer muffin? Sweet pea? Or perhaps cupcake—"

Giselle covers her ears. "Dad!" she groans. "Eat a cracker and stop."

He holds his hands up in defeat as he chuckles. "Okay, okay."

"So," Hufflepuff says once things settle down. "What did Dorian think? Did he like us? What about the food? Was my cooking okay?" A look of horror washes over her face. "Oh shoot, should we have given him some leftovers to take back to his family? He probably didn't get too far, I'll go get the food from the fridge and—"

"Honey," Slytherin laughs, resting his hand on the small of her back before she can scurry off in search of tin foil and plastic containers. "It's fine."

"Yeah," Giselle assures. "The food was great, and he loved meeting you guys."

"And we loved meeting him,” Hufflepuff says warmly. “Tell Dorian he's welcome to come back at any time."

"Okay," she grins. "Can we start our movie night now?"

Slytherin nods. "I believe it's Mom's turn to choose the movie."

"I know exactly what we should watch tonight," Hufflepuff beams. They pile onto the couch, and when she puts the disc into the DVD player, everyone but Hufflepuff's face falls when they see the title.

"Aw, not this movie," Giselle complains. "We watched the trailer last week, and you said it yourself that it looked like trash."

"Wha—I didn't say trash!"

"I think you did," Slytherin interjects. He stifles a laugh when she shoots him a look.

Hufflepuff purses her lips. "Ravenclaw and I watched it at the movie theaters a few days ago, and it was a cinematic masterpiece!"

He arches an eyebrow. "So you're gonna watch it again?"

"Yes! Because it’s that good. And I want you guys to watch it with me. The movie has adventure and plot twists and romance—I mean, what hurts more than a broken heart?"

"A severed head," Giselle replies, to which Slytherin snorts a laugh.

Hufflepuff scoffs and shakes her head, but a smile tugs at her lips. “You’ll see what I’m talking about after we watch it, but I need to use the bathroom first. I’ll bring back some popcorn.”

“Can you also get some Sprite?” Giselle calls after her.

“Okay.” Hufflepuff lingers by the doorway. “Do you want anything, sweetie pie?” she says to Slytherin.

“No thanks, snuggle bunny.” He snickers when Giselle visibly cringes. He and Hufflepuff liked to call each other outrageously sweet pet names in front of their daughter for the sole purpose of grossing her out.

“Yes,” Giselle says in a deadpan voice. “This is the exact spot I want to be in right now.”

Hufflepuff laughs and winks at Slytherin before leaving. He watches her walk away before whispering to Giselle, “How likely is it that she’ll accidentally trap herself in the bathroom and we get to pick another movie?”

“Extremely likely,” she replies. “If we put a rubber item underneath the door to act as a door stopper, she won’t be able to open it from the inside…” Slytherin is looking at her weirdly, and she swallows her words. “...I mean, I don’t know.”

Slytherin smiles but doesn’t say anything. Giselle may have inherited her mother’s looks, but she has her father’s mischief.

While they wait for Hufflepuff, Slytherin speaks. “Can I ask you something personal?”

“Sure,” she says cautiously.

“Do you love him?”

Her eyebrows rise—she didn’t expect this question. She takes a moment to think.

"Not yet.”

He nods. "But you're happy?"

"I am," she smiles.

His eyes crinkle. If she was happy…well, that was good enough for him.

“I’m glad, kiddo.”

This time, Giselle doesn’t roll her eyes at the term of endearment. Instead, she takes his hand and squeezes it three times. Slytherin, who taught her the gesture, squeezes her hand four times in response.

“Who’s ready to start the movie?” Hufflepuff walks in with popcorn and sprite, unaware of the father-daughter moment she just missed.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Slytherin sighs, scooting over to make space for her. She plops down beside him and settles the bowl between them.

“Oh,” she perks up. “Before I forget. Accio tissue boxes!”

Slytherin looks bewildered as tissue boxes come flying their way. “Do we really need tissues?”

“Absolutely,” she scatters the boxes over their laps. Slytherin raises an eyebrow and glances over at Giselle, who also looks perplexed.

“My teen angst bullshit is about to have a body count,” she whispers as the movie begins playing.

Storm's solo Hobbies

Storm really really really loves to read. This is part of the reason why her and Satan get along so well. She loves reading books on philosophy, horror stories, fan fiction from her favorite shows/movies, graphic novels/comic books...pretty much anything she can get her hands on. Her favorite books/stories are The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, Under the Dome by Stephen King, and The Pendulum by Edgar Allen Poe.

Storm really loves to sing, but she often does so in private because she gets too nervous in front of others. Lucifer actually caught her singing in the shower once, and now has her sing for him from time to time because he loved her voice so much. He's the only one she will voluntarily/knowingly sing in front of unless she is very intoxicated

Storm really loves to paint. She typically doesn't have a purpose in mind when she puts her paint to paper, but often times she is influenced by strong emotions. A lot of her works are very abstract and she doesn't share them with anyone really. She keeps them in a file organizer in her room. I have a feeling someday someone may find them though. Lol

Storm is a big fan of interpretive, exotic, and pole dancing. She moves very gracefully and finds the intense emotional movements relaxing. She absolutely refuses to do these in front of others because she'd sooner die of embarrassment but sometimes Mammon, Lucifer, or Levi will sneak in to the work-out room to watch her.

Storm also likes to write poetry. Usually this is how she gets her anger out and is able to remain so calm lol.

She likes doing some other stuff too (cooking, listening to music, going on nature walks/hikes, stargazing) but the ones above are her go-tos.

Lucifer & Storm's hobbies

Going to plays/musicals/shows/operas. Thats one of their favorite things to do with each other. Lucifer loves having an excuse to get Storm all dressed up in fancy clothes and show her off in addition to watching her so thoroughly enjoy the plot of a show, and Storm loves the theater!

Fancy dinner dates. Lucifer likes this one for the same reason as above, plus he just likes to spoil Storm to no end. She feels guilty about how expensive the things Lucifer does with her are at first, but he does tone it down when she expresses her discomfort with him spending so much on her (despite the fact that he can absolutely afford it and takes no issue with treating her like a queen)

Stargazing! Storm especially loves this one. The skies in Devildom are so interesting to her, and the various different constellations that litter the sky are very pretty. Lucifer likes this one as well, as it gives them some peace and quiet away from his brothers, and also an excuse for him to cuddle her (as if he needed one though lol)

Rock concerts. Storm really abhors loud noises normally because they often trigger headaches and exacerbate her tinnitus, but concerts are the one exception she is willing to make to that rule. She LOVES going to rock shows. They don't have to be in huge arenas, but she isn't opposed to that either. She may bring a set of ear plugs just in case the sound gets overwhelming, but usually shes fine! Lucifer at first sees this as a little barbaric (especially considering the first concert she took him to was fucking Korn), but it grows on him- especially when he sees how happy she is. He even begins to adopt her music tastes a bit and will stock his music library with music she enjoys. This is a thing they doo a bit more sparingly because of the noise issue- but they try to go to them at least once every couple months or so.

When they don't have much free time, they often just play a round of chess or cribbage, listen to music together while snuggling by the fire, or going a short walk with Cerberus.

Pet peeves

Lucifer: How he treats his brothers really pisses her off lol. Especially Mammon. She will put her foot down with him and often stand up for them when she feels he is being unreasonable. While Lucifer very clearly serves as the Paternal family figure, she serves as the Maternal side for his brothers...so they do listen to her when she tells them to do something/to stop doing something. Plus, she's got the power of the pacts. She will lessen the stress on Lucifer by helping keep them in line without violence and his behavior will change when she tells him how much it upsets her. Mammon may still be strung up from the ceiling from time to time, and someone may go without dinner here and there, but the punishments are way less harsh than they used to be- and the added fear of disappointing mama Storm helps alter their behavior- at least somewhat. (That's not to say there aren't still ridiculous antics that go on though. Lol)

Mammon: It really gets under her skin when he calls her worthless- even if he doesn't mean it (which he never does). It just brings up a lot of her insecurities whenever he says it, and reminds her of past abusive situations where the word was used to describe her. She doesn't mind most of the rest of his insults, and after she talks to him about it, he does it way less- but sometimes it still slips out. He is always immediately apologizing when it does though.

Levi: The yoda voice. At first she thought it was cute...and then he just...wouldn't stop...God...please make it stop.

Satan: The way he dresses. Like me in real life, I Hc that storm has pretty significant OCD traits. She primarily experiences contamination, order, and symmetry obsessions, and the way he wears his jackets trigger it SO HARD. like, she is aware that this is not his fault, and its for her to come to grips with, but she can't help but find that right eye start to twitch when she looks at his clothing for too long. She is trying her best to overcome it, because she really does love Satan a lot and he is one of the brothers she is closest too...but when he starts wearing his human world attire? Boy look out...

Asmo: Hugging her without permission- especially when he runs up on her unexpectedly. God she hates this SO MUCH. She has a very, very sensitive startle response as a result of her trauma, and the first time he does this she damn near has a panic attack. This is mostly from past trauma, but she tries to grit her teeth through it because he is always so genuinely happy to see her. After Lucifer gets her to finally start enforcing her boundaries, she will tell him how much it bothers her and he will do his best to stop. It takes awhile for him to actually commit it to memory, but he doesn't like making her uncomfortable so he will stop.

Beel: Talking with his mouth full. Look, Beel is always hungry, so he's always eating. But sometimes he gets a little too excited to spend time with Storm, so he tries to kill two birds with one stone by talking to her while he is eating. And this absolutely grinds her gears. She will politely remind him to wait to talk until he's done eating when it happens, but Beel will always forget.

Belphie: Falling asleep on her while she's talking. She knows that sloth is his sin, but it really irks her when she is in the middle of a conversation, or trying to ask for his advice on something, and he just zonks the fuck out. She won't dwell on it for too long because he is just so damn cute when he's asleep, but fuck if it doesn't drive her nuts.

Diavolo: Pushing work onto Lucifer last minute. Come on now, they had a date planned!! And hes just NOW remembering he needed that report by tomorrow morning that was originally not needed until Friday? Ugh.

Barbatos: When he brings up stuff about her past in conversation that she doesn't know that he knows about. Barbatos often forgets his foresight abilities and will often mention something casually in conversation about Storm's past or ask her a question about something from her past. Bonus irritation if it has something to do with her trauma or something super embarrassing.

Simeon: Overall, Storm doesn't have many qualms with Simeon...and that's the problem. Her pet peeve for him is that he's perfect...too perfect. She hates that her mind always wanders to what terrible thing is hiding underneath his lovely exterior. She gets so annoyed at how suspicious it makes her because she cannot believe someone is genuinely this loveable and pure.

Luke: When he tries to force-feed her his sweets. Again- like me- Storm has an eating disorder and struggles with her body image. She especially has a hard time with sweets and Luke will often relentlessly beg her to try what he makes, even going so far as to shove whatever it is in her mouth. She has a really hard time saying no to people, especially if they continue pestering her after the first no. And Luke will just keep giving her sweet after sweet until she feels terrible. Sometimes it could trigger a purge, but she knows he doesn't intend for that. Because he is so young, she just grits her teeth through it. Eventually, Lucifer gets involved and requests for him to stop if she tells him no, or just save something for her to try when she feels up to it. And he does listen!

Solomon: When he tries flirting with her. Storm does not care much for Solomon, mostly because he ticks her boxes for most of her pet peeves (he acts like he knows everything, he talks down to her, he's manipulative, etc), but the worst thing he does that she HATES is when he tries to flirt with her. He does it because he knows it gets under Lucifer's skin, and he likes seeing her get flustered. She tries so hard not to give him the reaction he wants, but fuck if it isn't damn near impossible- especially when he makes a crass sexual joke about her. Eventually she will get him to stop when she sobs to Simeon telling him how triggering it is for her past sexual trauma and Simeon relays this to him and scolds him for not listening the first 80 times she told him to stop, but she still never really feels comfortable around him alone after that.
