Raz

Trans kid who's fully accepted by his parents. Sorry I just really can't see the aquatos being transphobic and genuinely don't think transphobia is super common in the psychonauts universe? He's unlabeled at the moment and uses he/him pronouns.

Nona mixing up Raz's name with his brothers is because her brain had to connect Raz now having a boy name and connecting that to the other brothers so shes just a lil confused but shes got the spirit

He has (currently) undiagnosed autism, mostly because 1. there is no way the aquato family is able to afford a psychologist but 2. Augustus is also autistic and they have similar mannerisms, sensory issues, and stims so most of the family doesnt suspect that Raz is neurodivergent, they just think he takes after his father.

His helmet and googles are very much comfort items, but they also help with sensory issues. While they block out noise and reduce color in the area around him if needed, his helmet also stops him from constantly hearing the thoughts of others, which can easily overwhelm him.

He's mostly able to speak to smaller animals, mainly rodents like mice, rats, and squirrels, since they were the ones that were most common at different areas he would travel too.

He fell into water and almost drowned when he was little and that was the biggest thing that spurred the "hand of galocchio" thing.

Raz spent a lot of time in libraries and bookstores in the many towns he's traveled to in between practice and shows, and that was the way he discovered both his love for psychology and true psychic tales.

Raz is sensory seeking and douses everything he eats in hot sauce and spices. He'll try pretty much anything as long as its free and remotely edible. This extends to touch, he likes rubbing his hands on textured surfaces, especially velvet and fur.

He rubs his gloves on his face, bites, and scratches at them when he's stressed, so they're worn down where he's done it.

He has a plush toy Nona made him when he was a baby that used to be a rabbit but it's been repeatedly bitten, crushed, splattered in mud, and fixed so many times that it barely looks like a specific thing anymore, But he refuses to part with it no matter what.

His relationship with the junior agents goes from "eugh its weird having a kid here, we can't swear anymore." to "hello, this is our emotional support 10 year old, his name is shitfuck, we feed him moss, he's the golden retriver that keeps the cheetahs in our hearts from going insane, we constantly make fun of him and if you do anything to hurt his feelings no one will find your body."

Dona taught him how to forage and cook when he was little.

He enjoys dressing up and acting out roles whenever he can, and is very quick on his feet with his roles. He gets into LARPing later in life.

Raz doesn't have a specific specialty, so he's a bit of a jack of all trades when it comes to powers.

Morris

Another trans dude, Wowza. He's been out for a shorter time than Raz, but he's pretty comfortable with where he is right now. He's also bi! Woo.

He's peruvian, and was orphaned at a very young age before being adopted at around age 5 by his moms. He's currently 16.

He was one of Milla's orphans, but he was very young when the fire happened and he doesn't remember what happened or Milla, but his back did get injured in the fire and never fully healed, and that's why he's in the wheelchair.

His moms are rockabillies who own a motorcycle repair shop in the outskirts of Trujillo, They're big into 50's american culture and almost always have the radio on to whatever rock station is playing at the time, which helped inspire his love of radio and older fashion style. The albums he plays on KLOB are the only ones they let him bring because they were copies of records they already had.

He has a regular wheelchair with, you know, wheels, but when he fully learned levitation he found it easier to move around with a chair on a lev ball, especially on rougher terrain, so thats what he usually uses.

Despite his amount of Rizz he has no clue that Adam has a crush on him (not totally his fault, Adam's attempts of flirting are stuttery at best). He's just. Slightly oblivious to the feelings of others.

He acts like he doesnt care what people think. He very much does, and has some very overcompetative tendancies.

He and Gisu met in the motherlobe and have been part of the intern program for the longest, spending three years doing dumb shit in the woods while brushing off their intern duties or whatever they are.

He immediately took Queepie under his wing and they end up becoming really good friends, even if he isn't the greatest DJ. Cause he's, yknow, like 8.

Gisu

She/Her Intersex transmasc bisexual. Binds.

She's an Iranian immigrant who lives in a small town in the midwest, Same town as Lizzie and Norma. They're families know each other and they're childhood friends.

AuDHD and NPD.

She's an only child and lives with her mother and grandparents. She's slightly spoiled and they pretty much let her do whatever she wants, as long as she doesn't get arrested.

She's autistic and has a special interest in paleontology and robotics. She was part of her school's robotics team before joining the psychonauts.

She's very much a romantic, but tends to leap into crushes quickly and gets her heart broken.

Speaking of, she and Norma are QPPs.

Morris and her are besties and each others hypeman.

She has a tendency to work on her projects late into the night to the point of not noticing that its three in the morning by the time she finishes something.

She's easily able to focus on something that interests her, but if she doesn't think its something she would like to do, she procrastinates and avoids it like the plague. She gets easily distracted when she finally does get started.

Has a fursona. Its an otter.

BIG Boy band fan. All paul but also n-street, synced up boys, and whatever she can get her hands on. She doesn't care if its considered "trashy", it sounds good to her ears!

Transfem gay, but currently unaware of his gender, mostly from repression and not feeling the need to go too far inward. (Dont all guys wish they could wake up in the body of a girl and have no one question it and call him a she?) She/He, 16 years old.

She's from a rich, very influential family in britan known for having a lot of successful and gifted members. There's a lot of push for all the kids to do something "big" with their lives, and many begin to achieve that at very young, most having scholarships and awards at young ages.

And then there's Adam. Her biggest achievements are being

Truman's intern and that time she reached the quarterfinals of the county debate tournament. She's surrounded by ivy bound prodigies and musical geniuses and she's just… some history buff. She fades into the background noise, and feels like she's failing her family despite his best efforts.

Not fully conscious of the amount of wealth his family has. What do you mean your family doesn't send you 80 dollar tea overseas every month?

On a lighter note, He's taken it upon himself to become a bit of a "big brother" to Raz because he has a sibling around his age and he reminds her of them. She's trying to teach him how to play tetris. • As mentioned before, he has a crush on Morris but is terrible at flirting. He's one of Morris' few listeners on KLOB, but mostly does it because he enjoys hearing his voice.

She and Lizzie are absolutely TOIGHT. Lizzie immediately pinned her as a dweeb first time they met and she was right. They became a lot friendlier over time and were pen pals when Adam went back home after their first year.

Adam's eyes are all funky because he's got extra strong aura reading abilities, but the downside is that he basically goes blind for a while sometimes and has to orient around the world by seeing others auras and how they reflect off and affect objects.

Had a cringey katana-and-fedora phase when she was like 13. He tries to repress the memory. Her friends won't let her live it down because they have photo evidence.

Genderfluid Xenogendered Lesbian but not fully out to people who aren't the other junior agents. 14 and uses any pronouns but mainly she/her publicly.

Her family life is... strained. She lives in a pretty small town in the middle of nowhere, southeast america. Her family was normal when she still felt like a kid, but after Dogen acidentally blew up a bullies head, it became a frantic rush of lawyers, policemen, and hospital visits.

Since her parents were frequently away trying to figure out ways to mitigate Dogens abilities and find ways to settle the lawsuit they got, Sam would spend many hours alone. She quickly had to figure out how to cook and gather food outside to sustain herself because they would sometimes be in too much of a rush to prepare anything or be gone for longer than expected.

As things started to calm down, her parents would leave her alone with Dogen while they went off doing whatever else, and when they came back they would be too tired or too stressed to help her with anything.

She spent most of her days in the companionship of animals, almost always got up whenever Dogen was hungry or sick or had a nightmare, just to feed him and make sure he was okay.

Her parents basically treated her like a third adult when she was like 10, venting to her and letting her do most of the chores in the house when they were away, and they never really left her with a babysitter because she's "so mature for her age".

She has a strong fear of developing it herself, so she represses her anger. When someone is being mean to her and she starts focusing more on not blowing up than whats happening so she gets an unfocused look which leads to more teasing.

She eventually decided to just play into the "stupid weird girl" role, hoping being the butt of a joke in a friend group and making people laugh would help ease up her anger if she just laughs it off as her being dumb. (This ended up leaking into her and Norma's relationship and was part of the reason why they broke up.)

She did actually get in prison! She had a meltdown when the teasing became too much and attacked one of the girls in her "friend" group. She got sent to juvie for that. Her parents had to get a lot of recommendations from Compton to get her into the intern program and send her away.

The anxiety is genetic!!! Yayyyy!! Same with the autism.

Her trauma's left her with a very dysfunctional view of relationships and uses the animals as a way to feel like she has some control over her life and that she isn't a servant, she can lead too and help others improve themselves. This ended up leaking into

Heavy backstory stuff outta the way, back to the present. Sam's nickname is barncat because she runs off in the middle of the night and comes back the day after covered in mud and whatever else. She's basically made herself queen of the questionable area and forages for food and scrap metal at night. also she occasionally hacks up hairballs. no one wants to know why

Despite her.. questionable pancakes, Sam is actually a very good chef! She's just better at using more dubious ingredients.

She has PCOS and is on birth control to regulate it (projecting...)

Sam constantly masks back home and the motherlobe is the only place she feels she can be weird and free. She used to have longer hair but she lopped it off sometime during her internship because dysphoria (i hc its like end of summer so near the end of the intern program that year)

Sam ends up deciding to become Raz's weird older sister. Sam has no braincells, raz simultaneously has a lot of and no braincells at the same time, but when they're together they somehow add up to -7. She gives Raz advice that ranges from suprisingly helpful to very dubious

She really does love her grandpa, even if she's seen less and less of him throughout her life.

Her specialty is zoolingualism, but I think she'd be skilled at abilities that require her hands, like Psi-Punch and confusion bombs. She used mental connection to create a lasso of sorts she calls "critical thinking" which lets her lasso enemies and tie them down.

Norma

Norma's a trans girl, who uses she/her pronouns exclusively. She's a lesbian, 15 years old. She's also Afro-Filipina.

I've mentioned this, but her mother is the mayor of the town they're from. They've very much in the higher rung of their town when it comes to wealth.

Norma's mother is very cold and analytical, constantly seeing most things she does as transactional. Every positive interaction is a step towards a vote, every negative action reflects badly on her status. Average politician. This extends to her daughters and how she expects them to act.

She's the kid that's always trying to be on her parents good side, because failure isnt tolerated in their family and definite high expectations for both sisters and how they're supposed to behave. The two of them constantly needed to fight to get their mothers affection and love. But Lizzie's pretty much given up on trying to appease her, so despite her powers being seen as "less rare", she's the preferred child now.

Her mom uses her as a token of "I'm not transphobic! I have a trans kid!" Despite, in private, constantly misgendering her and insisting she barely change her name (norman to norma) You know how transphobes are a minority in this verse? Yeeep. Its better for her mom to pretend her views are something else so she can get more votes.

Should I add the two of them had a catholic upbringing? Big amount of guilt on her end but at the same time a sense of superiority and entitlement. She's devout and retreats into religious studies as a coping mechanism

Raz makes her feel threatened in her status as "#1 student" and she's very aggressive about it.

She's still not over her and Sam's breakup and is slowly starting to obsess over her and why it ended.

Norma is a big fan of detective shows like Columbo, Sherlock, and Death Book. She absolutely wants to be a detective and solve mysteries, part of the reason why she joined the intern program.

She has NPD, BPD, Autism, and struggles with insomnia.

Despite her last name, neutral to christmas.

Shes a teachers pet and would remind the teacher of the homework just to piss a specific person off.

She's realized the privilege that comes with her position, and decided to hang out more in punk spaces and with kids considered "teen delinquents" or "the wrong crowd".

She prefers dumpsterdiving and thrifting over the stuff her parents buy her, stitching and crafting her own clothes is an act of rebellion because they constantly scold her for wearing "Rags".

Her parents finally gave up, deciding to go "Fine, you want to be stubborn? We'll just pretend you don't exist." They give her somewhere to live but otherwise don't acknowledge her existence in the family until she learns to behave. She created a second hangout spot in an abandoned building with her friends and she'd spend long hours there.

She'd rather be a high school slacker who hangs out with poorer punk kids who arent "in the right groups" and actually have a social life than fighting for the spot of "perfect precious angel child" for the rest of her life. No matter how many punishments they give her. She won't let anyone know, but the way her parents treat and talk about her really hurts.

She has undying hatred for hostile architecture and drags Norma along to melt the spikes.

She fake smokes. Using candy cigarettes and using her powers to make smoke because it makes her look cool but she doesn't want lung cancer.

Just saw your post about having to block the doctor strange x reader tag, and I must agree it's become the predominant DS fic that comes up as recommended on my feed as well. There are several authors I enjoy reading in that category (although lately the overall amount of fics is overwhelming), but I only started writing them myself as my stephen x ofc fics could never gain a bit of traction. I have a theory that if I went back and changed my ofc's to reader inserts, I'd probably gain a lot more readers--but I can never bring myself to doing that as I wouldn't be true to myself as an author.

I suppose that's just a writerly woe I'm sharing with someone who might understand.😏 But I'm curious; are you open to reading non-romance fics featuring original characters? I've found that tumblr can be quite snobbish towards that species of fic.

I wanted to reply to this ages ago but it requires my computer and some thinking, so I kept pushing it off again and again and again and whelp, here we are. My bad. ><

I'm the same way where being true to myself as an author is writing what I want, so I get you there. Doesn't get As Much Engagement as other tropes would, but y'know what, I can live with that. If anything, I've actually found that the fic I compromised most on (because it was for a themed exchange) is one I want to reread the least. So if anything, a lot of me writes for "do I want to reread this in the future" and that has helped me since.

It's funny since OFC romances used to be pretty popular way back when, but I guess "reader" took over that audience over the last decade because the majority of the people just wanted to insert themselves into the position instead of reading about a full-fleshed character? Honestly not sure.

Right, I keep delaying the reason I took so long to get back to you - non-romance fics with OCs. The answer, by the way, is yes. Great OCs are fantastic, but you don't tend to see many OCs outside of romance, or you only see them as side characters in another pairing's fic. They don't often have starring or co-starring roles. But I wanted to find examples with great OCs which would take time.

And now I'm taking that time. Here's some good OC-starring fics that I scoured through the tag. They're difficult to find. I had to smudge that requirement after a while. Then I gave up after I got to 2 years back in the tag.

Some of the stories that I know have very good OCs are also IronStrange, but I know that's not your cup of tea so I left it out. But I found a handful.

Keshwyn was the author that came to mind when you originally sent this ask, but I wanted to have more than one author when I wrote this. Read their series, highly recommend, top-tier OCs across the whole spectrum, with the main star being female.

This fic by LexLemon is technically PalmerStrange, but the OCs are her parents, so it's basically a delight in my eyes as Stephen's fish-out-of-water act is always funny to me.

Dragonnan writes good OCs, usually the mean sort though, the ones who hurt Stephen rather than befriend him (male and female lmao), but if you're in a whumpy mood at some point...

This isn't technically an OC, but I don't know the character from the comics, so she's an OC to me! This Stephen's new apprentice is Casey Kinmont fic by Stratagem. They just updated recently too, need to cheer them on at some point.

Would you let them win? oh him for sure, but only because he does in fact still have his scary monsters ability in this modern au LOL.. but he would Never use it with intent to harm me! if we fight then we mostly fight with words, and we're both very good at cutting really deep where it Stings. we hate when it gets to that point, but it has happened a couple times since we're both quite emotional and can be explosive 😔

💜 When you upset each other, how do you make up for things? diego is king of not knowing how to say "sorry" 💀 taking accountability for what he's done is very hard for him, so his go-to is to make small gestures that basically dance around the word, but don't directly say it. he'll test the waters with innocent kisses to the forehead, or a gentle squeeze of my hand, usually he looks at me with an expression that screams "i'm sorry" but the words just don't pop out of his gd mouth LOL.. the best he can manage is heartfelt words like "i love you, you know that?" or "you mean the world to me" which are honestly even better since he's not so great at saying those things either

if i know i've upset him, i'm no better at saying sorry than he is. of course i want to yell it from the rooftops, but i shut myself off when i'm hit with even the smallest amount of guilt. this can last for a while, since he's never one to admit he's in the wrong and he typically won't make an effort to fix things on his own. eventually i'll get over my damn self and go hunt him down, drape myself across his back and whisper my apology until he forgives me and wraps me up in his stinky, loving arms.. basically we're both kinda fucked in terms of dealing with our emotions correctly 100% of the time, but the patience we have for each other definitely outweighs that

Who’s an absolute mess when they’re sick? diego's a BABY when he's sick, he latches on to any opportunity he can that gives him an excuse to be weak and needy. but, again, words are not this dingdong's strong suit, so when he needs something he will simply stare at me with puppy dog eyes. because i am the way i am, i will dote on him the entire time. when i'm sick, i hate to be babied, so he has to deal with the fact that i don't want him hanging off me and worrying 24/7. instead, he'll check up on me every so often and bombard me with text messages about anything and everything. man can't go five minutes without attention, smh

Making them work

So I've got symbols and concepts. I want to make runes from polymer clay, but that's gonna take some time. In the meantime I got the suggestion to do a stone casting or pendulum setup for them. I went with stone casting.

But first, I wanted some other associations for all these pieces. That will help me remember them, and help me develop meaning and connections to my life with them.

Since I grouped them into seven "families" of three, and organized the three by a sort of "increasing" in intensity, I decided to do a grid of associations. Each set is split into a land element, a water element, and a sky element. And each family has a tree and a color.

So the land element is the concept that's the roots of the tree - the thing that's the foundation. The water element is the trunk - the thing that we see and can flow and bend. The sky element is the canopy - the thing we reach for and aspire to and that helps feed the soul and soil.

For colors and trees, I chose a rainbow that nods to the original pride flag and picked trees that have had meaning in my life. I paired the trees and colors with the sets of concepts mostly on vibes but a little based in what little bit of associations I do know from the folklore I grew up with.

Red / Maple: Community | Tradition | Family

I grew up tapping maple trees and making syrup. To this day pancake breakfasts are what I think of to bring community together, and when I think of traditions I usually think of the ways we get food from the land. My favorite maple trees have the most gorgeous red color in their leaves.

Orange / Buckthorn: Resilience | Patience | Balance

Buckthorn is an invasive tree whose orange grain I deeply respect for its richness of color. I still pull it to make room for the native plants - trying to make right the balance - but it's extremely resilient and that's why it's invasive. It just doesn't give up.

Yellow / Walnut: Inclusion | Equity | Justice

I grew up with black walnuts, which stain your hands a yellow brown if you're not careful. I paired it with this set mostly because I was torn between this and oak (for strength) but blue is the color usually used by colleges to represent education. So the bright sunny hope of justice and the difficult hulls of oppression that must be cracked to enjoy equity were associated with walnut.

Green / Pine: Respect | Curiosity | Kindness

Pine forests have long been a place of peace for me. A hush of respect always comes over me in them, and they remind me to slow down and be kind and curious.

Blue / Oak: Education | Critical Thinking | Power

I already mentioned blue being associated with education. I long knew oaks as "mighty" and "strong" and that fit well with the idea of power, to me. Plus I like blue and yellow together and that brings to mind a Justice oriented Power.

Purple / Lilac: Music | Creativity | Joy

The purple lilacs of my mother's yard are easily one of my favorite scents and memories. So that fit well with joy and goes well enough with the other items in the set.

Pink / Cherry: Honesty | Service | Honor

Okay, this is silly. I live in the DC area now, where American cherry trees are plentiful. So are the Sakura cherries in DC proper. And yes, that brings to mind the story of George Washington and the cherry tree. Yes: I'm well aware of my very imperfect history lessons in public school. But even if you take away the story, the fit still works: cherries are honest and serving trees. They're pretty easy to identify and provide good eats to humans and critters alike. And the Sakura trees bloom pink. The American ones bloom mostly white.

To be super extra I also associated the land/water/sky with metals: land-copper, water-silver, sky-gold. This is based on colors, mostly. Dirt often can give red pigments. The lake I grew up on usually looked silver. The sky goes gold with sunrise and sunset. I was also drawing from the (mostly British) medieval heraldry rules about not putting colors on colors and instead putting colors on metals. I think they did it because of contrast and visibility? At least, that's why I chose to follow that particular rule. I didn't want to be getting confused been my "rows" and my "columns".

My Own Runes

I enjoy runic divination. I use it primarily as a reflection tool to help me focus on the things that are important to me. But I got started with it using *that* rune set and I don't find Ralph Blum's framework useful for my needs anymore for a number of reasons. But "why not those" isn't the focus here. What's new is the focus.

I started with a reflection exercise and some discussions with folks who are close to me - I find discussion best for sensemaking. I asked myself, "what are the things that matter to me most?"

I wound up with a long list that got tweaked and trimmed. By the end of it, I had 21 items. I grouped these into 7 sets of 3.

Cool, I've got suits (to use a tarot term) or families of things now. But runes are symbols. So I tried developing symbols in the way folks say to make sigils - that is, taking the letters and simplifying them into shapes. This Did. Not. Work. I got overwhelmed and frustrated really quickly.

I asked for help. My spouse ended up suggesting that a unifying symbol for each "family" or group of 3 would be useful, then I could add individual identifiers on top.

So I did that, and now I have a functional rune set!

Their personality is cheeky, cheerful, and full of mischievous ideas. They often entertain kids in town and plays with them until they have to go home. If Camilo ever decides to play a prank on them, they will shock him for the rest of the day when he’s least expecting it.

They wouldn’t admit this, will often put themselves in danger in order to protect the towns people from dangerous and will sacrifice their own life to ensure the people are safe.

They have a lightening scar on their left side of their face that goes from their temple to their jawline. It happened when the night they got their gift. It resulted in their left eye changing into a lighter color, fortunately, they can still see.

Here’s some headcanons:

— Is very clingy and attached to Dolores. They will often ask her if they can sleep with her ( and have some cuddles) all the time, would stay in her room if she allows them to. They will tell everything to her, including their secrets and insecurities. Will get very sad if anyone says that they’re not Dolores favorite. If Dolores is watching (or hearing) them, they will show off and act cool. Since thunderstorms can calm people, they will often press their hands into her ears and make soft noises in order to calm her down. Falls asleep in her lap when they get overwhelmed or overuse their gift. Never uses their gift around Dolores unless she asks, or to calm her down because they know lightning would hurt her ears. If they ever accidentally hurt her, they will avoid her at all costs.

—Is also attached to Pepa. Since pepa can make lightning, they would always admire her for that. She also can’t accidentally or purposely hurt y/n with her thunders, since they’re immune to it. They try to calm her down when she has a bad episode. Will hide behind her whenever they get into trouble or overwhelmed.

—They have a sweet tooth.

—When their emotions get out of hand, they will hurt themselves and others until Pepa, Dolores and Isabela comforts them.

I have ideas for a fic in the convict childcare au, but know about as much as Sam on how toddlers work lol. Thankfully I do have a friend who works with little kids so they should prepare to be bombarded with questions like, how often do toddlers need to bathe and how long should nap time be, all while I’m being extremely dodgy on why I need to know these things because they know nothing about Dream smp and I don’t think I can explain that it’s for a zombie pig child who’s under the (originally) forced care of a manipulative control freak who’s just trying his best

As for how toddlers work, I actually know a decent bit about them from a lot of babysitting. I think the biggest thing for Michael is that he won't match up with a normal child right away due to the zombification thing.

After XD heals Michael he's got his left ear back (although it's weaker than his right) and no exposed bone. He's still missing an eye, and he's got very limited muscle tissue under there. It's mostly scar and fat to keep the bones safe. All of this is a lot for his body to adjust and reintegrate, so he needs time to recover.

So for the first month or so, Michael is going to be a very sleepy baby. He takes longer naps, and when he is awake he's more limited in his activities. c!Dream has to work with him on recovering mobility in his hands to teach him sign during this period, and that along with basic child care takes up a lot of his waking hours. After that month Michael gets back up towards normal activity levels, sleeping around 14 hours a day (12 hour nights and a 2 hour nap). Sometimes longer if he's feeling rough.

For baths, nether babies do not need baths as often as human babies do! Naturally, Michael would only take a water bath every month or so, and use dust baths during that month. Due to his weaker skin and the higher danger posed by infection, dust baths actually aren't super safe for him, and there's none in the cell. Dream compromises by only making him take a proper bath once a weak and just wiping down his scar tissue every day. Michael starts out pretty fussy about baths once he has the energy to be fussy, but grows to enjoy them given time. It helps that the bathtub is a safe place for him.

The other stable parts of their routine are that they eat two meals a day, because that's when c!Sam brings food by. Dream hoards some stable food away as soon as he can do so safely, and every so often when Sam forgets to feed them or doesn't feed them enough he gets Michael something from there. They also have toothbrushes, and Dream is very good about getting Michael to brush his teeth twice a day (something Michael hadn't done before because back w/c!Tubbo and c!Ranboo his mouth/teeth were so fucked up from zombification that it did more harm than good). And usually when Sam is coming by in the evening, Dream will put Michael away in the tub since that's when Sam is most likely to be in a bad mood.

Besides that, their normal activities consist of Dream teaching Michael sign (when both their hands are working well enough for it), reading to Michael, teaching Michael to read, exercising together as best they can to regain some muscle mass (mostly for Michael, Dream isn't eating enough to be able to put on any muscle), playing invented games, and generally learning about each other.

Queen Sansa "the Wise" is facing unrest in the nearby villages, which leads her to make questionable choices in the eyes of her people. In the South, king Bran the Broken fell seemingly ill and fear for his life makes people uneasy about the succession.

As once again instability risks to break the kingdoms, a hero reappears, with the name of a long-feared enemy, and an old song is beginning to be sung once again, with fire and ice meeting for one last dance.

Not mentioned, but coming: Some news from the iron islands and Dorne, trouble coming from Essos… oh, and some resurrection, perhaps.

After Petyr Baelish tragically suffocated on a gigot before he was able to poison Jon Arryn, Westeros fought in united strength against the White Walkers and built up a diplomatic relationship with Queen Daenerys in Meereen after the victory.

So, the land was at peace, the winter was over and 2 years later Theon, Robb and Arya sat together in Winterfell, bored to fucking death.

Fortunately, distraction seemed within reach, as Theon discovered a book in Maester Luwin’s library, maybe solving their problem. Promising the opportunity to travel back in time and experience one of the big battles again, they’d fought in the past.

But mixing the ingredients, something went wrong and instead of arriving back on the field of the second Battle of the Dawn, they found themselves in Berlin of the 21st century, still wearing their thick furs and understanding not a single word.

Putting their hopes in a certain dark-haired goldsmith from California, who kindly takes them in, they tried their best to somehow find their way back home and find a lot more in the process.

Got Pokemon Sword for Christmas, as kind of a pair gift with my sister. Decided to try a Nuzlocke, since we'd be playing it together anyway.

This is my epic nerd child, Devon. They like designer pants, and everything else has to be comfy. A fun-loving and easily fired up kid, they're kind of just going along with whatever Hop says.

They picked Grookey, since it seemed like the most reliable Pokemon there, and because green was always one of their favorite colors. The Grookey's name is Mr. Tree, which was mostly me being precious with mister and plant, and an accidental Mr. T reference. It works, either way. Mr. Tree is energetic and silly, liking to make his owner laugh. He likes showing off to the other pokemon, but is also happy to fight for them. He enjoys spicy curry the most.

This is Marcie, encountered just outside of Devon's hometown, where she was just a Blipbug. She's named after the Peanuts character, because of the glasses she seems to wear. Originally, Devon set out to catch a Rookidee, since they look so cool, but they found Marcie cowering in the tall grass, hiding from another trainer, and they scooped her up. Marcie is sweet but quiet, liking to just sit and watch the other Pokemon. She was excited to be the first Pokemon to evolve in the team, back when it was just her and Mr. Tree. Now that the team has grown, Marcie still likes to act like the most powerful one at times. She likes chewy curry the most.

This is Randy, encountered near Professor Magnolia's home. Named after a character in a Christmas Story, Randy was found as a Seedot, attempting to avoid trainers by laying low in the grass. Devon almost stepped on him though, which irritated the normally subdued Seedot. Randy was a fast catch for Devon, which gave them a real ego boost. Seeing how much their trainer liked having them there, Randy felt loved and decided to stay around. He doesn't get along too well with the other Pokemon, not liking to share his trainer's affection, and will challenge the other Pokemon to games all the time. Seeing Devon calms him down though. He likes sour curry.

Shellder, also known as Bleh, was fished up out of a stream. Bleh was standoffish, but liked to fight with other Pokemon, and liked to be praised. Devon was super excited to have caught their first water-type, and wanted to test her out. However, a sneak attack from a powerful Oddish in the raid area caught the two of them off guard, injuring Bleh badly, and rendering her unable to continue along on Devon's journey. Releasing Bleh back into the wild, Devon felt discouraged about being able to take care of their Pokemon, and spent a long time training with their current Pokemon (Mr. Tree, Marcie, and Randy.) in less dangerous areas. She liked spicy curry, and from time to time, Devon heads back to the stream and feeds her.

This is Dougie, encountered wandering around on the seaside streets of Motostoke. He came at Devon, who was idly passing time, waiting for Randy to return from a Poké Job. Devon tried to avoid the Chewtle, but he was agitated by the presence of the trainer. Seeing a strange passion in the small turtle, Devon decided to catch it, and it turned out, that was exactly what Dougie wanted. Dougie immediately settled in, happy to have a trainer and Pokemon friends. He apparently became jealous of the Pokemon wandering around his city, following their trainers excitedly, and decided to take matters into his own hands, so to speak. Touched by the Pokemon's desire to come along with them, Devon decided not to give up on finding more teammates. Dougie likes to play and hang around the other Pokemon, though he can quickly get annoying. He makes Devon happy, and so, the others put up with him. Dougie likes sweet curry.

This is Lady Grey, encountered near the ruins in the Wild Area. Named somewhat after the title of a song, she was also named merely because she is a very royal bird. Nervous about which Pokemon they would choose next, Devon was avoiding the tall grass, sitting down next to the old watchtower. However, above them, a Pidove was watching. This Pidove saw the berries Devon was feeding to their Pokemon, and became hungry. She dove down, attempting to steal the berries. However, a very alert Mr. Tree stopped her, thinking she was attacking, bonking her with a stick and knocking the low level Pidove almost out. Devon, frightened for the poor bird, rushed her to the Poké center. The nurse informed them that the bird was merely unconscious, and would be fine. Relieved, Devon had her taken care of, and was preparing to release her. However, the bird didn't want to go, wanting to be fed berries like the other Pokemon. Devon realized this, and decided to catch the elegant bird. She doesn't play well with others, quite often ignoring everyone until it's time to eat. However, she is protective of her trainer, not wanting to be berry-less again. She likes dry curry.

That's it for now! All my Pokemon babies are so good, and I love them all. Devon doesn't even want to compete in the challenge, really, they just like camping with their kids in the Wild Area, getting berries and curry supplies. I hope it all goes well, I've been training really hard, and working on getting the babes to have good stats. I miss Bleh, but I know she'll live on in my heart.
