It doesn't take him long to shake off his sleepiness because he's been used to waking up early and going to training for years. When it comes to sleeping together, some nights it can be a struggle to pull the covers from under his huge bulk. And do you remember the other night? He suddenly threw his arm over you in his sleep and bumped you in the nose. Little accidents like this can happen in your relationship.

Today was a pretty low key day. Which is good. I was just saying to James that I am glad I was not as bad bound as we worried. But I think it made me allow myself to do to much. I wish I spent a little more time in bed I guess. I am trying to find a balance. From resting to spending time with baby to spending time with James and doing at least one thing a day to make myself feel productive and good.

And I think today was a good example of that. Especially after how tough last night was. And it was tough. At Sylvie's 9pm meal she would not stop crying. She was just so fussy and upset. And it was like. Yeah she does this every time. But James was just so tired. And trying to take on to much. And when I came out of the shower they were sitting there like. I don't think we're going to make it. They looked so dejected and sad. I told them we would be okay. That I was totally awake and would take care of her.

And in my mind I decided I would take her downstairs and we would hang out while James slept. She was really fussy and just wanted to be held and since I was very awake that was chill. I didn't like when she was crying but like. We were good. And I was glad that James was getting sleep.

I would text them updates as we did stuff. I did some research about formula feeding and we are now trying the pitcher method, where you make the whole days worth in a pitcher and warm up just what you need at each meal time.

And while I was down there hanging out I was listening to a long documentary countdown video about like 20 different mysteries. And I emptied the dishwasher and put things away. I tried using the bottle sterilizer for the first time. I apparently didn't use enough water on that first go but I fixed it and ran it correctly the next time.

I would get a little tired at times but overall we were chilling. And I was texting Celia and hanging with my baby. I'm not 100% sure what to do with her when she is awake. Like I love seeing her eyes and talking to her when she's awake. But also. She doesn't really. Do anything. So I am not sure how to engage with her. She does like the string lights though. And she seems to like singing. And walking around and being rocked. It will be fun to learn more things she likes.

James would sleepily wander down at midnight. To check on us. And I told them I got this and I filled them in on everything we did while James was sleeping. James cuddled me on the couch for a few minutes. But it was time for Sylvie to eat. And I changed her and we went to bed.

But because I had given her a little extra at ten she mostly spit up the midnight one. So I had to change her sleep sack. And make sure she was comfortable. And then we were able to finally sleep.

James would take over after that. And she would fuss at times but she would sleep better and that was encouraging.

I meant to wake up at 8 but ended up waking up at 930. I was pretty distressed for some reason. But James was right there and gave me some medicine and I would be okay. It would just take a minute.

My hair looked great today. And I loved this comfy outfit. This is my favorite flannel. And I love a long sleeve and shorts look. And James went downstairs to make me an omelette with spinach. For the iron. And it was a nice morning.

I decided what I wanted to do today was to do some work in the studio. I would also tackle one of my doom piles. James wanted to go on a bike ride. So we would coordinate those wants.

James was doing some kitchen stuff and some stretching. And I was sitting on the floor in the studio with Sylvie on the puff mat I made for her. I cut out a bunch of circle bears, which is a new idea. I was going to try and make these reusable Easter eggs I had seen online but I made one and hated it. So instead they will just be round bears.

James would leave for their ride. And I would sew for a while. And Sylvie would sleep. She slept literally all day. She would wake up a little to eat. And to look around for a minute. But she slept for so much of today I am real nervous about this evening.

But we enjoyed the day still.

I would bring Sylvie to the couch to cuddle and watch TikToks. Eventually I would open the backdoor for Sweetp. And to stand in the sun for a little while. But the breeze was strong and it was a bit cold. So we just walked around for a while. And we were in the studio looking at the fish tank when we heard James come home.

James came in all happy to see us. It is so sweet how their face lights up. They would go get a shower and get changed and then we would all have lunch.

James made me a salad and fries for lunch. Sylvie had a bottle. It was a nice afternoon. I probably should have tried to take a nap. But I was enjoying a cuddle with James. And Sylvie was being so cute. And I was having a nice time.

We would do some organizing. James helped me take all the fabric down from my shelf. And we spent like an hour taking everything down, taking out any tiny pieces to toss and folding and organizing everything else. I was very happy with the project.

We have mostly been on the couch for a while. James suggested that we attempt sponge bathing Sylvie tonight. Her umbilical cord is still on but we are going to try and get her used to the sounds of the tub and being wet. So that will be a project later on.

But for now we are just chilling. I tried a different baby wrap and Sylvie yelled at me and she just kind of got lost in it. She's so little.

We had a little bit of dinner. I had soup but I barely ate it. James is doing their Spanish lesson with Sylvie. And I am going to go and take a shower and wash my hair. And then we will try cleaning the baby. And James will go to sleep. I will stay up with baby until midnight downstairs and then hopefully join James. I am nervous because she's been asleep all day. But it will all be okay.

I heard a rumor that my brother and dad are coming to visit tomorrow. I hope that it's true. It will be so nice to see them both. I just hope that I'm not exhausted! But it will be okay.

This is not a very well organized blog post.

Okay, quick update (when am I ever "quick"?) just in case anyone has been reading these and would be interested in an update.

Emmett is doing considerably better than he was. He did go in for surgery and have a feeding tube placed last Friday. It was sort of a bigger deal than I thought--it wasn't just placed through his nose, but sewn into his neck.

He was still really lethargic the following day, worse than before I took him to the vet again. But he had just had surgery, two straight days of being under anesthesia, and the vet put him on a different pain medicine that's easier on his empty stomach, but makes him a little sleepy. So I tried not to worry too much throughout Saturday.

And since then, he's definitely improved. He shows up for meals now, even if he doesn't eat a whole bunch. I mean, I do have to put a bunch of emergency care food into his stomach four to five times a day. Which also includes a lot of water, so I haven't seen him at the water bowl, but not only is his food mixed with water, but he gets his medicines crushed up in water, and his tube needs washed out before and after he's fed. So that's a lot of water.

He spent most of Saturday just sort of blobbing on the floor again. Yesterday, he upgraded to blobbing on the couch after his afternoon meal. Today, he waited until my supper time to start blobbing--and that's almost certainly because he got his pain medicine about hour before that.

The vet says he needs to have that until his feeding tube comes out. He's got a follow-up appointment towards the end of next week to take stock of when that might could happen. And he's eating well enough on his own that I was told to take him off the appetite stimulant today. He isn't eating as well, but he is still eating, so that's good.

He slept with me all last night, which is the best I've slept since this whole thing started. I could reach behind me and touch his side and just make sure he was still breathing. He left pretty early, too, probably 5:00. He meowed at me a lot (he's naturally a chatty boy) and let me pet him, and this afternoon before his feeding, I found him outside on the patio--it was over 80 degrees outside today. It's February. How disgusting. But I went inside to exercise, and when I came back, he was sitting in the grass.

Overall, he looks more like himself, and he's not nearly so hot! He's not hissing when I touch him. I really hope that this means he's on the mend!

I did bite the bullet today and sign him and his brothers up for pet insurance. It's not as unreasonable as I thought, and for all three of them annually, it's still less than I spent on a single vet appointment/procedure Emmett had last week (and he had five). It won't help me with this issue because he won't be covered for another couple of weeks, but it will save me money in the long run, I think.

Anyway, now that that has (mostly) passed, unless something new and scary happens, I can assure you that I will now return to reblogging and posting about Ace Attorney instead of my various adventures with my cat.

— Is very clingy and attached to Dolores. They will often ask her if they can sleep with her ( and have some cuddles) all the time, would stay in her room if she allows them to. They will tell everything to her, including their secrets and insecurities. Will get very sad if anyone says that they’re not Dolores favorite. If Dolores is watching (or hearing) them, they will show off and act cool. Since thunderstorms can calm people, they will often press their hands into her ears and make soft noises in order to calm her down. Falls asleep in her lap when they get overwhelmed or overuse their gift. Never uses their gift around Dolores unless she asks, or to calm her down because they know lightning would hurt her ears. If they ever accidentally hurt her, they will avoid her at all costs.

—Is also attached to Pepa. Since pepa can make lightning, they would always admire her for that. She also can’t accidentally or purposely hurt y/n with her thunders, since they’re immune to it. They try to calm her down when she has a bad episode. Will hide behind her whenever they get into trouble or overwhelmed.

I have ideas for a fic in the convict childcare au, but know about as much as Sam on how toddlers work lol. Thankfully I do have a friend who works with little kids so they should prepare to be bombarded with questions like, how often do toddlers need to bathe and how long should nap time be, all while I’m being extremely dodgy on why I need to know these things because they know nothing about Dream smp and I don’t think I can explain that it’s for a zombie pig child who’s under the (originally) forced care of a manipulative control freak who’s just trying his best

If you end up writing anything absolutely send it to me, I love seeing stuff other people create in my aus.

As for how toddlers work, I actually know a decent bit about them from a lot of babysitting. I think the biggest thing for Michael is that he won't match up with a normal child right away due to the zombification thing.

After XD heals Michael he's got his left ear back (although it's weaker than his right) and no exposed bone. He's still missing an eye, and he's got very limited muscle tissue under there. It's mostly scar and fat to keep the bones safe. All of this is a lot for his body to adjust and reintegrate, so he needs time to recover.

So for the first month or so, Michael is going to be a very sleepy baby. He takes longer naps, and when he is awake he's more limited in his activities. c!Dream has to work with him on recovering mobility in his hands to teach him sign during this period, and that along with basic child care takes up a lot of his waking hours. After that month Michael gets back up towards normal activity levels, sleeping around 14 hours a day (12 hour nights and a 2 hour nap). Sometimes longer if he's feeling rough.

For baths, nether babies do not need baths as often as human babies do! Naturally, Michael would only take a water bath every month or so, and use dust baths during that month. Due to his weaker skin and the higher danger posed by infection, dust baths actually aren't super safe for him, and there's none in the cell. Dream compromises by only making him take a proper bath once a weak and just wiping down his scar tissue every day. Michael starts out pretty fussy about baths once he has the energy to be fussy, but grows to enjoy them given time. It helps that the bathtub is a safe place for him.

The other stable parts of their routine are that they eat two meals a day, because that's when c!Sam brings food by. Dream hoards some stable food away as soon as he can do so safely, and every so often when Sam forgets to feed them or doesn't feed them enough he gets Michael something from there. They also have toothbrushes, and Dream is very good about getting Michael to brush his teeth twice a day (something Michael hadn't done before because back w/c!Tubbo and c!Ranboo his mouth/teeth were so fucked up from zombification that it did more harm than good). And usually when Sam is coming by in the evening, Dream will put Michael away in the tub since that's when Sam is most likely to be in a bad mood.

Besides that, their normal activities consist of Dream teaching Michael sign (when both their hands are working well enough for it), reading to Michael, teaching Michael to read, exercising together as best they can to regain some muscle mass (mostly for Michael, Dream isn't eating enough to be able to put on any muscle), playing invented games, and generally learning about each other.

Just saw your post about having to block the doctor strange x reader tag, and I must agree it's become the predominant DS fic that comes up as recommended on my feed as well. There are several authors I enjoy reading in that category (although lately the overall amount of fics is overwhelming), but I only started writing them myself as my stephen x ofc fics could never gain a bit of traction. I have a theory that if I went back and changed my ofc's to reader inserts, I'd probably gain a lot more readers--but I can never bring myself to doing that as I wouldn't be true to myself as an author.

I suppose that's just a writerly woe I'm sharing with someone who might understand.😏 But I'm curious; are you open to reading non-romance fics featuring original characters? I've found that tumblr can be quite snobbish towards that species of fic.

I wanted to reply to this ages ago but it requires my computer and some thinking, so I kept pushing it off again and again and again and whelp, here we are. My bad. ><

I'm the same way where being true to myself as an author is writing what I want, so I get you there. Doesn't get As Much Engagement as other tropes would, but y'know what, I can live with that. If anything, I've actually found that the fic I compromised most on (because it was for a themed exchange) is one I want to reread the least. So if anything, a lot of me writes for "do I want to reread this in the future" and that has helped me since.

It's funny since OFC romances used to be pretty popular way back when, but I guess "reader" took over that audience over the last decade because the majority of the people just wanted to insert themselves into the position instead of reading about a full-fleshed character? Honestly not sure.

Right, I keep delaying the reason I took so long to get back to you - non-romance fics with OCs. The answer, by the way, is yes. Great OCs are fantastic, but you don't tend to see many OCs outside of romance, or you only see them as side characters in another pairing's fic. They don't often have starring or co-starring roles. But I wanted to find examples with great OCs which would take time.

And now I'm taking that time. Here's some good OC-starring fics that I scoured through the tag. They're difficult to find. I had to smudge that requirement after a while. Then I gave up after I got to 2 years back in the tag.

Some of the stories that I know have very good OCs are also IronStrange, but I know that's not your cup of tea so I left it out. But I found a handful.

Keshwyn was the author that came to mind when you originally sent this ask, but I wanted to have more than one author when I wrote this. Read their series, highly recommend, top-tier OCs across the whole spectrum, with the main star being female.

This fic by LexLemon is technically PalmerStrange, but the OCs are her parents, so it's basically a delight in my eyes as Stephen's fish-out-of-water act is always funny to me.

Dragonnan writes good OCs, usually the mean sort though, the ones who hurt Stephen rather than befriend him (male and female lmao), but if you're in a whumpy mood at some point...

This isn't technically an OC, but I don't know the character from the comics, so she's an OC to me! This Stephen's new apprentice is Casey Kinmont fic by Stratagem. They just updated recently too, need to cheer them on at some point.

💜 If you got into a physical fight, who would win? Would you let them win? oh him for sure, but only because he does in fact still have his scary monsters ability in this modern au LOL.. but he would Never use it with intent to harm me! if we fight then we mostly fight with words, and we're both very good at cutting really deep where it Stings. we hate when it gets to that point, but it has happened a couple times since we're both quite emotional and can be explosive 😔

💜 When you upset each other, how do you make up for things? diego is king of not knowing how to say "sorry" 💀 taking accountability for what he's done is very hard for him, so his go-to is to make small gestures that basically dance around the word, but don't directly say it. he'll test the waters with innocent kisses to the forehead, or a gentle squeeze of my hand, usually he looks at me with an expression that screams "i'm sorry" but the words just don't pop out of his gd mouth LOL.. the best he can manage is heartfelt words like "i love you, you know that?" or "you mean the world to me" which are honestly even better since he's not so great at saying those things either

if i know i've upset him, i'm no better at saying sorry than he is. of course i want to yell it from the rooftops, but i shut myself off when i'm hit with even the smallest amount of guilt. this can last for a while, since he's never one to admit he's in the wrong and he typically won't make an effort to fix things on his own. eventually i'll get over my damn self and go hunt him down, drape myself across his back and whisper my apology until he forgives me and wraps me up in his stinky, loving arms.. basically we're both kinda fucked in terms of dealing with our emotions correctly 100% of the time, but the patience we have for each other definitely outweighs that

💜 Do you take care of each other when you’re sick? Who’s an absolute mess when they’re sick? diego's a BABY when he's sick, he latches on to any opportunity he can that gives him an excuse to be weak and needy. but, again, words are not this dingdong's strong suit, so when he needs something he will simply stare at me with puppy dog eyes. because i am the way i am, i will dote on him the entire time. when i'm sick, i hate to be babied, so he has to deal with the fact that i don't want him hanging off me and worrying 24/7. instead, he'll check up on me every so often and bombard me with text messages about anything and everything. man can't go five minutes without attention, smh

💜 How are you when traveling together? It can be in general or to a specific place. we love traveling!!! we don't argue at all when we're exploring somewhere new, i think the excitement keeps us both in such high spirits that we feed off each other's positivity :')) even if it's somewhere we've already been, we're so thrilled to be Away that we can't help but have a really good time together

💜 You run into your ex/their ex while you’re out - how do you react? well LUCKILY for us... my one ex is several states away, all his exes are back in the UK... so we don't have to worry about this at all LOL. but if it did happen then i think we'd both just wordlessly guide the other away and check up on comfort levels

💜 If either of you got into any serious trouble, would you bail each other out? In what conditions? if we got into serious trouble it was probably both of us LMAOOO so who's bailing both of us out??? we're partners in crime, after all

💜 Could you start a musical act together? How good are your musical skills? i can't sing or dance even if my life depended on it, i briefly took guitar lessons a long time ago and was decent at it, but essentially i have no confidence in that at all LOL. diego loves to sing but he isn't exactly that good at it, however he can whistle pretty well, does that count?? (it definitely doesn't)

💜 What Alternate Universes have you thought of for yourselves? Fantasy, royalty etc.  currently i just have the two: modern au and canon au (which is a slightly different dynamic and i might answer these for my s/i as well sometime), but i'm considering adding a sci-fi au because it's just a genre i Love so much and i have had multiple dreams about being space bounty hunters with diego

💜 How would you react if you swapped bodies? oh my god LMAO.. i know for a Fact that he would poke fun at my height (i'm literally 4 inches shorter than him and he won't let me forget it) and say shit like "wow, the world looks so different from down here!"... shut up lmao 💀 meanwhile i would imitate his walk, his voice, and his facial expressions and over-exaggerate them, telling him to look at how silly he looks all the time... he would Hate it LOL.. it's all in good fun (he'd probably wanna fuck while we're like this too, which, honestly.... Arya Stark was not happy when her family was forced to move to King's Landing due to her father's promotion. But at the same time, it allowed her to escape her problems back home, allowed her to meet a cousin she'd never known, get a job doing what she loves and there's the issue of a certain mechanic.

Maybe the move would be worth it?

But the problems from back home follow her, her only hope is to keep running, until she can't run any more.

It’s been one year since the death of Daenerys Targaryen, called by some "the mad queen", and the North and the Six Kingdoms try to rebuild all that was lost. Jon Snow had disappeared beyond the Wall, his wolf last seen near Hardhome. Queen Sansa "the Wise" is facing unrest in the nearby villages, which leads her to make questionable choices in the eyes of her people. In the South, king Bran the Broken fell seemingly ill and fear for his life makes people uneasy about the succession.

As once again instability risks to break the kingdoms, a hero reappears, with the name of a long-feared enemy, and an old song is beginning to be sung once again, with fire and ice meeting for one last dance.

Not mentioned, but coming: Some news from the iron islands and Dorne, trouble coming from Essos… oh, and some resurrection, perhaps.

There was no interruption from his ordinary work. No happy reunion, no thrilling tales, and no missing Stark girls to steal his food and change the world. There was nothing but another group of hungry mouths to feed.

Or Arya Stark does not visit the Crossroads Inn, and the world of ice and fire is changed forever.

After Petyr Baelish tragically suffocated on a gigot before he was able to poison Jon Arryn, Westeros fought in united strength against the White Walkers and built up a diplomatic relationship with Queen Daenerys in Meereen after the victory.

So, the land was at peace, the winter was over and 2 years later Theon, Robb and Arya sat together in Winterfell, bored to fucking death.

Fortunately, distraction seemed within reach, as Theon discovered a book in Maester Luwin’s library, maybe solving their problem. Promising the opportunity to travel back in time and experience one of the big battles again, they’d fought in the past.

But mixing the ingredients, something went wrong and instead of arriving back on the field of the second Battle of the Dawn, they found themselves in Berlin of the 21st century, still wearing their thick furs and understanding not a single word.

Putting their hopes in a certain dark-haired goldsmith from California, who kindly takes them in, they tried their best to somehow find their way back home and find a lot more in the process.
