Chapter One
The smell of burnt sugar from the candy floss carts is overpowered by the petrol stinging your nose when you enter the tent. The chatter of the crowd mostly drowned out by the buzz of the motorbikes as they zip around, flicking up dirt. There’s a warm breeze that tickles the hem of your dress, sweat clinging to the back of your thighs.
You’re momentarily stuck in a trance watching them go back and forth when you feel a pinch on your arm. Your friend nudging you and speaking in your ear to draw your attention.
That’s him.
He looks much the same as the others in his white jumpsuit, but you can’t deny there’s a different aura that follows him.
One that’s been picked up by most the girls in town in the short time the carnival tent has been pitched.
And now you can’t seem to draw your attention elsewhere as he parades on one wheel to the cheers of the crowd. Making your breath catch in your chest every time he was in the air, falling back down to the ground. At every moment left up to fate and physics as he swoops in behind his fellow stunt riders in the gaudily named globe of death. And again, when the helmet finally came off, his brunette locks set free and only slightly dampened with sweat – a coy smile and wave to the crowd.
You’d fallen in love with strangers before of course. Passionate fantasies that lasted just as long as their presence in town. Settling with the dust left in their wake, another moment of escapism to keep you going. But unlike the others, he lingered.
Steve ‘hot spur’ Harrington
And when he started coming into the diner every morning for a cup of black coffee and some bacon with a side of toast you didn’t think much of it. Even less so when you noticed that he’d hardly say a word to you but was all smiles and charming lines to the other waitresses. Even if you’d get a tightness in your chest every time you’d hear the engine of his bike as he pulled up – it didn’t matter.
He was just another fantasy soon to be gone.
That was until he sat up, catching your attention as he uncrossed his legs when you’d left the diner one night, realising he must’ve been leaning on his bike for a while. Your eyes following the cigarette he drops next to the two that already lay discarded by his worn boots, before they travel back up to find his already watching you.
“I was uh,” he cleared his throat of the rasp left by smoke, “I was wonderin’ if you wanted to go for a ride?”
“Excuse me?” Of course you thought you hadn’t heard him right. That he’d mistaken you for someone else. The light in the car park barely cast on orange glow on the both of you. But then, again.
“You wanna go for a ride?”
“You don’t know me.” Your eyebrows pinch, head moving in disbelief.
“Sure I do.” Then he flashes you a smile, shyer than the one he’d been giving the prettier waitresses. “You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”
“I-I don’t-“
“The one that I’ve been trying all week to pluck up the courage to ask. So?” His leg starts to bounce, his torso leaning forward while he still remains perched on the side of his bike.
You shrug, still not sure where this conversation was coming from. “So?”
“You wanna go for a ride?”
You shake your head, “No.”
“Oh.” Steve finally breaks eye contact, looking down as he kicks at the gravel. “Right, yeah.” His hand runs through his hair.
“I’ve never been on one.”
His head snaps back up.
You gesture to where he’s seated. “First time with a stranger seems like a terrible decision.”
He smiles again, more assured, teeth on display. “You seen me ride?”
You nod.
“Then you know you ain’t got nothin’ to worry about.”
“It’s reckless.”
He laughs, eyes darting as he notices your body move slightly closer. “It’s practice. And it’s confidence. Two things you need to be good. ‘M not gonna let anything happen to you.”
“Why me?”
Steve stands up, bridging the gap between you in a couple of steps. “Already told you.” Your head moves back to accommodate his closeness.
“You think I’m beautiful, right. How many girls you said that to since you got here?”
“You seen me with another girl?”
“No.”
“Then I think you just answered your own question.”
You end up in a slight stare off. The smile on his face might’ve pissed you off if it wasn’t so damn charming.
And when you feel his hand pull your arm tighter across his torso, the cotton of his white T-shirt against your skin grounding you as your heart beats rapidly between you, the wind roaring in your ears, you can’t help the smile that finally creeps up on you. Steve squeezes your arm again when he feels it pressed up against his back.
And that’s how one of your fantasies turned real; how you met the love that would burn you to the ground.

vehicle headcanons bc im like. so bored
Lenore 100% rides a motorcycle, most likely a Harley or a Triumph. She enjoys a good street race, but only on remote roads that have been marked off and never spontaneously or on high ways. She used to do stunts with dirt bikes and atv's before her injury, but it plays hell with her hip now, so she just rides standard. She doesn't drive much, but if she had to get a car, it'd be a classic muscle car like a Firebird. She's an offensive driver insofar as she's more than willing to take a fender bender to prove a point and she will chase a bitch down if they run. Only if it's just her in the car, though. She mostly drives one-handed and rests her right hand on the console (or Annabel's thigh). She does enjoy cruising in a car but not as much as feeling Annabel hug her from behind on a bike
Annabel's ride would be Lenore a Cadillac, Porsche, and an Audi. She switches them out as the occasion calls for it. Her father bought all three. She trades them in for the lastest models every five years or earlier bc she couldn't be caught dead in a model that's gone out of style. People assume she likes being chauffeured around, but being in a vehicle she has no direct control of gives her hives, so 9 times out 10, she's going to be the one driving. The only people she trusts on the wheel are Prospero and Lenore. Very defensive driver bc she's always thinking 20 steps ahead and can smell bullshit from a mile away. She tells people she prefers convertibles for the visibility, but she really just likes watching Lenore hop over the door into the passenger seat.
Ada would sell her soul for a bright pink Porsche. Unfortunately, a brand new one is def out of her price range, and every time she buys a used one that she can afford, it craps out in like five months or so. She's forced to settle on a lightest burgundy Camry she can find at some point and she's bitching about it to everyone that can hear. She is the most godawful driver you will ever see. Road rage like no other. For years, she thought turn signals were a useless formality until a horrified Prospero told her otherwise. The fact that she has a license is the eighth wonder of the world (her tester was severely hungover). She keeps subtly asking to borrow Annabel's Porsche, but Anna just smiles and changes the subject.
Pluto has a crappy little Beetle that he stole from his dad, and to separate it from him would be to cut his heart out with a rusty butter knife. He's also a defensive driver but not in the same way Anna is. He's just very hyperaware of everything, which is great for snap reactions but can cause him to overreact sometimes. Does not play music or take his eyes off the road ever bc he's scared of getting distracted. Prefers taking mainroads bc high way speeds makes him nervous. He loves his car, but he'll typically just take the bus for short distances. The only time he's even marginally relaxed while driving is when his friends are with him, especially Eulalie.
Montessori has a Mustang, and he drives it like an asshole. I'm talking tailgating, cutting, muffler delete, zero turn signal whatsoever, always going at least twenty over, racing randoms on the highway etc etc. Rarely gets road rage, but causes it on a daily basis. One of his favorite plays is talking someone into a race, losing on purpose, betting money on a second race, and smoking their ass with his turbocharger. Yes, his car is kitted with every mod known to man, and yes, it does look like a douchebag owns it. He keeps trying to goad Lenore into a race, and she keeps rejecting him bc 1. She knows his schemes, and 2. She's not entirely convinced he won't try to run her over.
Eulalie prefers not to drive and doesn't own a car. It took forever to get her license bc she's so easily distracted that she's at risk of drifting into other lanes and/or hitting something. She did manage to get it eventually, but having to be constantly vigilant stresses her out, so she just bikes/skates (skateboarder Eulalie real) or uses public transit or grabs a ride from a friend. Despite everything, she's actually a very good and courteous driver when she's paying attention. She stops for pedestrians, bikers, ducks on the road, and so on. Her driving style is very smooth and steady in a way that could lull you to sleep. Until she has to slam the breaks to avoid sailing into oncoming traffic. She thinks it'd be really cool to own a Hearse with a black/purple color scheme, though. She shares a bus pass with Pluto
(Pt.2 cuz this got too long)

Carl Grimes (The Walking Dead) vs. Alya Cesaire (Miraculous Ladybug)
Y'all Hate Kids: Screwed By The Writers

Propaganda below the cut
-
Carl Grimes (The Walking Dead)
He’s literally blamed for doing stuff that any kid raised in the apocalypse would realistically do. He literally had to shoot his own mother and watch two of his friends get killed with a baseball bat. Fans call him “stupid” for killing specific people, but when he doesn’t kill other specific people, he’s blamed for that too. Fans also seem to hate his actor’s acting, even though Carl is meant to be emotionally-stunted due to the severe trauma he’s faced. It doesn’t help that the show runner himself seemed to hate Carl enough to [spoiler alert], and it derailed the entire show as a result. Carl literally is just trying to survive in a world he’s forced to grow up in. He’s lost so many adults in his life and can’t let himself just be a kid because it’ll prevent him from staying prepared.
Alya Cesaire (Miraculous Ladybug)
Cw: racism
"The amount of hatred Alya gets in the fandom is absolutely insane. There are over 800 fics tagged with ""Alya Cesaire Bashing"", and that's just the ones that actually TAG it - many of them either use a a non-canonical tag or just take their demonization of her as canon. It's not just that a lot of fics bash her either, but that the fics that bash her are disproportionately popular. If you go through the ""Miraculous Ladybug"" tag on AO3 and sort by kudos, I'd say around a third of the top 500 most popular fics use this gross caricature of her in order to justify inflicting some sort of insane punishment on her, or at least replacing her with ""better"" friends and leaving her to wail in despair.
Basically, Alya is the best friend of the main character, Marinette. She's really into superheroes and aims to be a reporter someday, to the point that the first time a supervillain cropped up in the series, she immediately got out her bike and cycled after him so that she could be there when a superhero showed up to fight him (Lois Lane would be proud). She runs a blog called the ""Ladyblog"" which reports on what the superheroes are doing, and sometimes makes some fun videos, like about the most impressive feats of one of the superheroes.
More relevantly though, she acts as Marinette's support a lot of the time, often being the one to push her to confess her feelings to Adrien, to help her with plans she comes up with, to talk things out with if she's having trouble processing something, and trying to act as the voice of reason if Marinette's gotten to into her own head. It can sometimes head into Black Best Friend territory of having her mostly stick around to support her bestie, but she DOES get a decent amount of screentime and focus at least.
Then the first episode of season 3 aired, and the fandom went BALLISTIC.
This character, Lila, debuted back at the end of season 1 as being this attention-seeking liar who pretended that she knew a lot more famous people than she actually did, including being best friends with Ladybug. Alya, being a naive 14-year-old, believed her and put Lila's interview on her blog. Since Marinette IS Ladybug, she knew this was not true, though she was initially more freaked out about the possibility that Adrien (the boy she has a crush on) would find her supposedly amazing life to be entrancing and that Lila would steal Adrien away from her, to the point that she actively wanted to stop Lila and Adrien from spending time together to prevent Adrien from falling for her.
Fast-forward to Chameleon, the first episode of season 3, and Lila's back and lying some more, this time about having Tinnitus (which would mean that she needs to sit at the front of class, next to Adrien). The class has a whole seating rearrangement in order to accommodate the move, and because some of them just wanted to change seats. Since Marinette was late that day, she didn't get to give input, so she wound up sitting alone at the back of the class, instead of next to Alya like she usually did. She's upset by this, but can't prove that Lila doesn't actually have the disability (she doesn't even have evidence that Lila doesn't have hearing problems, it's just that her story of how she supposedly got the disability is suspect), so she puts up with it for the class period.
Then lunch time rolls around and Marinette tells Alya and Alya's boyfriend, Nino, that Lila's a lying liar who lies. Alya asks why Marinette hates her so much, since she barely knows Lila (this isn't the first time that Marinette's nitpicked at Lila's stories, but she's never actually managed to prove that Lila's lying, Lila's good at coming up with explanations for any hole Marinette exposes in her tales). Marinette tells her how, after Lila first arrived at school, she followed her and Adrien, eavesdropped on them, and then saw Ladybug show up and tear into Lila for not knowing her. (Presumably that's what she says, the episode skipped past her actual recounting of what she saw). Alya and Nino are more concerned with the fact that she stalked Lila and Adrien, with Alya also being skeptical that what she heard might have been out-of-context, given how common out-of-context eavesdropping is in fiction for causing issues, with Alya saying, ""A good reporter always verifies her sources. Can you prove she doesn't actually know Ladybug?""
Since Marinette can't actually prove anything without revealing that she's Ladybug, she decides that the sane and reasonable thing to do is to throw a wadded up napkin at Lila while she's eating lunch, and when she catches it (Lila's pretending to have a sprained wrist), to loudly declare that she obviously doesn't have a sprained wrist. Lila quickly pretends that catching it did actually hurt, the classmates Lila was sitting with scold Marinette for hurting her, and then Marinette goes off to seethe in a bathroom, where Lila finds her and threatens to turn her friends against her if she continues trying to expose her lies.
Then at the end of the episode, Adrien goes to sit with Marinette at the back of the class to keep her company, the teacher thinks that Marinette ALSO has hearing issues so she's brought back to the front (and away from Adrien again), Lila pretends that her hearing has been fixed so she can sit at the back with Adrien, and Alya spots that Marinette looks miserable about sitting alone at the front, so she chooses to sit next to Marinette to keep her company and everyone ends up going back to their old places, except that Lila's sitting at the back of the class now.
And that's it. That is, for the most part, what kicked off the entire Alya hatred and demonization onslaught. While there ARE more things that happening in following episodes, they have a pretty small effect on the demonization Alya's put through, almost all of it is derived from Chameleon and hasn't changed much since then.
So for starters, in fanfics Alya is often made to ditch Marinette constantly to hang out with Lila instead. This never happens. She's often exasperated when Marinette starts talking about how Lila is awful and points out that she doesn't have proof of that, but she doesn't avoid Marinette, and the closest she ever comes to hanging out with Lila outside of class events is when she called Lila over to babysit hers and Nino's younger siblings when Marinette canceled at the last minute.
But most Alya-bashing fics don't just leave it there. Oh no. If you look through a bunch of the most popular Miraculous fics, you'll see Alya made out to be some sort of ringleader for the class in bullying Marinette, hitting her, pinching her, poisoning her, destroying her things, saying nasty, heinous things to her, the works, and inciting the rest of the class to do the same, sometimes to the point that even LILA is shocked at her cruelty. Usually in these cases, Chloe, who is canonically the class bully (and Marinette's bully in particular) is inexplicably Marinette's primary protector against the eeeeeevil Alya, becoming Marinette's best friend and support and basically taking on Alya's canon role and some of her personality traits, despite the fact that canonically, Chloe's as susceptible to Lila's lies as anyone else, and that in season 5 Chloe actually became Lila's partner in crime in trying to hurt Marinette in particular. (I don't like how Chloe's treated in canon, but that's a different story).
I've never even seen any justification given for why Alya's so frequently made to be outright violent or cruel towards Marinette, it's just widely accepted in fiction now, even with nothing pointing to her ever being malicious like that. There ARE other things Alya canonically does that I see her taken to task over though, but that fall apart when you examine them.
One of the biggest offenders is criticism towards Alya over how she handles babysitting. In Christmaster, Alya and Nino pick up Nino's little brother after Marinette babysits him for them while they're on a date, in Timetagger, Marinette's slated to babysit for them while they're on a date but cancels at the last minute, so they call Lila over instead, and then in Simple Man, Marinette books herself to babysit Alya's and Nino's younger siblings and the daughter of one's of her mom's friends, a little girl named Manon, all at the same time.
Alya receives heavy criticism for not paying Marinette for her babysitting, for having Marinette babysit for her secretly behind her parents' back without their knowledge, and for pressuring Marinette to babysit for her even though Marinette's so busy.
A few problems with this.
1. We see babysitting happen several times, sometimes with Alya helping Marinette with babysitting Manon and sometimes with Marinette just babysitting Manon without anyone else's involvement. At no point is payment brought up, and yet the absence of such a discussion is only ever used to demonize Alya.
2. There is no evidence that the babysitting Marinette does for Alya's sake is done behind her parents' back, the only thing pointing to that is a lack of Alya ever flat-out saying that she has her parents' permission to have Marinette babysit for her, but there's no evidence of sneaking around. MARINETTE, however, DOES canonically ditch her babysitting duties by having Alya babysit for her without the parent's knowledge. In Prime Queen, Marinette accidentally double books herself to do an interview as Ladybug at the same time that she's supposed to be babysitting Manon, so she calls Alya over to watch the interview with her, lies to her that she's just gonna go downstairs for a few minutes to talk with her parents and for Alya to please watch over Manon while she does that, and then leaves to do the interview while Alya watches over Manon the whole time. Nadja definitely didn't know that this happened, because she was surprised and worried when Alya and Manon called in during the interview with Marinette nowhere to be seen. In addition to this, in Simpleman, Marinette foists off all the children she's babysitting onto her grandpa against his will so that she can run off and help with Adrien's photoshoot after he calls her. The people demonizing Alya for supposedly having Marinette babysit for her secretly are not upset about the examples of Marinette canonically doing these things.
3. Of the three times that Marinette has, to date, been scheduled to babysit for Alya's sake (Christmaster, Timetagger, and Simpleman), for Christmaster she spent the next several hours after finishing with babysitting making Adrien's 50th birthday present (he's currently 14 years old), so I wouldn't say she was pressed for time, for Timetagger, she literally called Alya at the last minute to say she was too busy to babysit and Alya said it was no biggie and made other arrangements, and for Simpleman, Alya offered to cancel her date and take care of her younger siblings herself the instant she saw that Marinette was already babysitting Manon, and Marinette told her to go ahead and go on her date and that she'd look after her siblings.
So clearly, the people clutching their pearls about how horribly irresponsibly Alya is handling babysitting and how she's wronging Marinette in the process don't actually care about babysitting ethics here, because otherwise, Marinette would be getting the brunt of the hatred, not Alya. Despite this, I've seen a fair number of posts in the past tearing into Alya's babysitting for the reasons I already gave, and a bunch of fics that make it so that Alya pressures and guilt-trips Marinette into babysitting for her when she's struggling to keep up with all her work, only to have her parents find out and be horrified by how Alya's lied to them about who's been doing the babysitting and that Alya's been getting an increased allowance because of that, so they pay Marinette out of Alya's allowance and ground her, take away privileges, just have this be used as an excuse to punish Alya for supposedly wronging Marinette.
And then there's the subcategory of Alya demonization towards her for putting up Lila's interview on her blog without verifying that Lila was telling the truth. Admittedly, this was foolish, but she's 14. Retractions exist for a reason. And yet, fics frequently have her reputation be completely destroyed because she put up one interview that had a false statement by the interviewee in it, and sometimes even to be completely blacklisted from ever being a journalist in the future, things that are completely insane and would have even the most storied and well-respected of reporters be unable to ever get a job.
She also frequently gets demonized and bashed for ""believing Lila over Marinette"". My major issue with this: what she's specifically believing Lila over Marinette for is on the topic of ""is Lila an awful person"". I don't think it's unreasonable to have a higher standard of proof for believing that someone is an awful person than for believing that your friend might just have some biased interpretations. Alya thinks that Marinette doesn't like Lila mostly because Lila has hit on Adrien, Marinette's crush, before. This isn't unreasonable considering that Marinette's first reaction to Lila is to freak out about her stealing Adrien away, and that when this other girl, Kagami, started hanging out with Adrien, she freaked out about that too. Specifically, she called a meeting of all her female friends to try and stop Kagami and Adrien from going away together to London for the weekend in Backwarder, helped Chloe in trying to get Kagami covered in food at a fancy red carpet movie opening in order to drive her away and steal her seat next to Adrien for the movie, and when she and Kagami were paired up for a ""friend-making game"" where the goal was to locate where Adrien was in Paris and the prize was to spend time with him, she pretended to genuinely want to be Kagami's friend so she could sabotage both of them and prevent Kagami from spending time with Adrien. So it's not like the belief that Marinette might be unfairly biased against Lila because she's made moves on Adrien is an unfair assumption.
In addition to that, on the occasions when Lila HAS tried to frame Marinette for something, Alya hasn't believed it, or hasn't been shown to believe it at least. In Ladybug Lila tries to frame Marinette for cheating on a test, for stealing a necklace from her, and for knocking her down the stairs. Despite the evidence Lila planted, Alya doesn't believe it and investigates to try and find out what really happened. She doesn't uncover any solid proof, but she still believes in Marinette. She doesn't believe that Marinette's assumption that Lila's behind this is necessarily correct, since Marinette's leaping to that without presenting proof, but she doesn't believe that Marinette's the culprit either. And in the two following cases when Marinette's framed, Alya never actually gets a chance to say what she believes after the accusation is made against Marinette.
Just... the amount of demonization towards Alya TO THIS DAY, often for things she NEVER EVEN FREAKING DID, is absolutely insane. Even over 5 years since Chameleon aired, fics with Alya being made into this malicious, awful bully so that Marinette can get some new friends to publicly denounce her, get her arrested, or otherwise be punished are frequently on the front page of the most recently updated fics on AO3, and are often some of the most popular ones. If you go to ""Fandom-Specific plot"" on Tvtropes, saltfics like these have multiple files going through all the common salt tropes. When looking through fics, I frequently search for Alya's name because she's often the first person to be unfairly demonized, so if she's safe, then everyone likely is.
I suspect that racism plays a major factor in this. It doesn't make sense that Alya's often painted as being a violent, malicious bully and leader in getting the rest of the class to physically hurt and terrorize Marinette, I haven't even seen analysis arguing that she'd do that... but it tracks with the ""Black Brute"" archetype. This becomes even more obvious with Chloe, who's white and canonically DOES do some of this stuff, taking on Alya's canon role and some of her personality traits in these sorts of stories.
Then there's the standard Alya's held to for how she handles her blog. It's way higher than anyone would hold real-world reporters to, much less 14-year-olds. But it makes sense if you factor racial bias into account, and how Alya, being Black, is going to be held to a higher standard than anyone else, and be punished more for failing to meet that standard.
For things like the babysitting double standard, it makes no sense if you're actually looking at the stated criticism, given that the same criticism isn't leveled at Marinette... but it makes perfect sense if you're going off the assumption that Alya, as Marinette's Black Best Friend, is supposed to solely function as her support and that she's simply fulfilling her duties by always being there for her when needed, including for babysitting, but that if Marinette ever attempts to repay in kind, then Alya's being unfair towards her because Alya's obligated to always support Marinette, but that relationship is supposed to be a one-way street. Alya is supposed to function as Marinette's support, never the other way around.
And as for the way Alya's demonized for asking for evidence before believing that Lila's lying, well... again, Alya's expected to act as Marinette's support, and her ""failing"" that in any way, even if it makes sense from her point of view, is viewed as a betrayal. She's supposed to be loyal to Marinette, and only to Marinette, not to think for herself or to have multiple other friends or values that she needs to weigh. And anything that she does to go against that ""justifies"" Marinette intentionally trying to hurt and punish her for failing to live up to her role.
In conclusion, the way Alya's treated by the salt side of the fandom is grossly unfair, often has little connection with anything she canonically did, and has some gross racist implications, and is likely at least partially spurred on by racism, especially with how common and popular it still is to this day."
"(Note: This is an addendum to my earlier essay about the fandom's mistreatment of Alya. Here, I'm focusing more on how the writers' treatment of her helped to exacerbate that, since I saw that this version of the tournament had more of a focus on that. Please add this on at the end of my previous essay).
While Alya is primarily screwed over by the fanbase, there are some aspects of the writing that exacerbate her ill treatment. In season 4, Marinette confesses her secret identity to Alya, letting her know that she is Ladybug. Despite now knowing why Marinette was so convinced that Lila wasn't friends with Ladybug, and that Lila's interview stating that she's best friends with Ladybug is a lie, the subject just... never comes up, even when Lila starts being important again. It's not that Alya's ignoring what Lila lying on those subjects means, it's more like the writers just completely forgot that Lila told those particular lies, since Marinette doesn't bring them up either. This creates an inconsistency with the fanbase, who really, really, REALLY haven't forgotten those lies.
There ARE ways to explain this - Lila lying about being friends with Ladybug in order to try to boost her reputation, especially when she's the new girl, isn't really all that heinous. Marinette lies a lot as well, even if you don't count lies told to protect her secret identity or other ""necessary"" lies, sometimes out of embarrassment, sometimes to to try and prevent someone's feelings from getting hurt, and sometimes because she thinks it's the fastest, easiest, or most certain way to get the outcome she wants. And yet, even though Marinette lies a lot, she's not ostracized for that since it's usually not for malicious reasons - foolish reasons at times, but rarely malicious. It would make sense that Lila too, wouldn't be thought too badly of for merely lying in an attempt to make friends.
None of that actually comes up though. Alya later, in Confrontation, states that, ""Marinette, you know we'll always believe you. But every time you've accused Lila, there's been no evidence. And at worst, it was just a misunderstanding."" Marinette doesn't say anything about the previous times Lila has been proven to lie, so it seems like either it was decided offscreen that the more understandable lies she's told don't matter, or that the writers just plain forgot about them.
There were other opportunities created by Alya knowing Marinette's identity that were ignored. Alya concludes that Adrien backing up Marinette's statement that Lila's bad news was just due to him wanting to defend his girlfriend. This is also a bit of a writing flaw, while wanting to back up his girlfriend's stance IS a decent reason for Adrien to be biased against Lila, this is Adrien we're talking about here. He's nice and understanding to a fault, and is known for giving people the benefit of the doubt and second chances. It makes far less sense to believe that he'd believe the worst of Lila, even if Marinette does, than it does for Marinette to be biased against Lila. That being said, Adrien wouldn't have been present for Lila's more indisputable threats and statements directed against Marinette, so he can't actually verify for sure whether or not there could've been some misunderstanding.
There WAS, however, someone who was always with Marinette, and who could actually back up Marinette's statements more definitively.
Tikki. She was present for every threat Lila made, for everything she ever claimed. While it's possible that both Tikki and Marinette may have misunderstood Lila in the same way, it's far less likely, especially since Tikki would have had different biases from Marinette. Tikki could be an important witness. Yet that never comes up, is never proposed, because that would end the plotline too quickly.
Alya was also screwed over in the immediate aftermath of Lila being exposed, though not by the writers per se? There was a short scene planned after Lila's exposed where Alya apologizes for not believing Marinette about Lila being a liar and generally an awful person, we've even got leaked footage of it, but it appears that it was cut somewhere between being written and voice acted, and the episode being aired.
All of this only really affects detailed arguments about how well (or poorly) Alya's story arc with Lila was handled, its affect on the actual fanfiction produced about Chameleon salt was minimal, I saw no change in its frequency, severity, or general handling of the characters with any season after season 3. I highly doubt that even the changes I suggested here would have done much to persuade the saltdom against Ron the Death Eatering Alya, especially since a lot of the hatred against her has so little to do with the show.
There IS some hatred thrown at Alya for non-Lila related reasons - well, reasons that aren't DIRECTLY Lila related, most of that hatred still stems from people hating her for Chameleon stuff and then retroactively justifying it by looking back at other things she did that irked them. The most common one (that actually has some sort of argument to it, not the ""Alya's a horrible babysitter and is abusing her friendship with Marinette"" nonsense I listed in the main essay) is that Alya's pushy about getting Marinette together with Adrien.
This is more a product of Alya's usual role in the story than anything. I mentioned in the main essay how Alya sometimes falls into ""Black Best Friend"" territory, and this is one of the biggest examples. One of her most common roles throughout the series is as the person who pushes Marinette to actually confess to Adrien, to hang out with him, to pursue her romantic desires even with her anxiety holding her back, and to be honest with herself during the times when she's trying to deny her feelings for him. She's Marinette's sounding board whenever she's having an anxiety spiral about... actually, just about anything, and acts as the voice of reason when Marinette gets in her own head too much.
Thus, Alya sets Marinette and Adrien to end up somewhere alone together, or tries to push her to talk to him, or to be honest during the times when she tries to ""move on"" from Adrien by denying that she still has feelings for him (which is blatantly untrue). She IS okay with Marinette dating someone else though, if she honestly seems to want to do that. She had no problem with her dating Luka, for instance. She DID protest Marinette's seemingly sudden interest in Chat Noir, but that was mostly because Marinette seemed to be grabbing at her new attraction as an attempt to run away from her feelings for Adrien, something that Tikki ALSO noted.
That's another thing - Alya's the character who's most frequently thrown into this role, but she's not the only one, nor even the most extreme one. A new character that was introduced for the Miraculous New York Special, Jess, observed how Adrien and Marinette acted around each other, and decided to try to get them to confess their love by faking a supervillain attack on them, with the supervillain kidnapping anyone that no one loves in order to compel Marinette to FINALLY confess to Adrien. (Alya thought it was stupid, but agreed to help since it might actually work). When Marinette, Adrien, Luka, and Kagami went out to the wax museum together, Luka intentionally locked Adrien and Marinette in a room together so that Marinette would stop running away and would be forced to talk to Adrien. Marinette is written in such a way that other characters are compelled to meddle in her lovelife, because otherwise she'll continue making her own extreme plans and pining away, but never actually confess her feelings.
So while Alya could be said to be ""pushy"" to an extent, it's mostly for Marinette's benefit. I would like if this was a less frequent role for Alya - I think it does her a disservice, since it locks her firmly into Marinette's orbit rather than emphasizing who Alya is as her own character. Most of the hatred towards Alya for this is tied up in ""Die For Our Ship"" being directed at Adrien though, with Adrien bashers hating that Alya's trying to set Marinette up with what they see as an inferior option. Ironically enough, while Alya's role in this situation is one of the primary examples in the show of her being treated by the writers as a ""Black Best Friend"" who exists to serve Marinette's character, it's actually one of the cases where I think racism is a pretty minor part of the hatred by the fanbase over it, since I think that's mostly motivated by hatred towards the Lovesquare.
In conclusion (again), there is an issue with the writers bending Alya's character in order to tell a particular story, particularly a Marinette-centered story, while ignoring how little sense that makes with what happened earlier on in the plotline, or how it centralizes Alya's role and character around Marinette in ways that exacerbate already existing writing patterns in media.

hey meet my Smg4 OC, Googly.
My little Imaginary Being Maned Wolf thing is 6'1 and has rubber bones. He uses He/it pronouns. Please respect it.
Lore/Backstory: Smg4 accidentally created him with he was making memes and a vial of Stardust that had "Meme Dust!" on the label with the promise of making the perfect meme appeared beside his keyboard. After initial confusion of this thing existing suddenly inside his bedroom, the silly little guy stole his heart. Therefore, it's now a part of the crew!
Googly's quiet, timid, goofy, and sweet. He's a bit lacking in the smarts department due to being recently born. But it's always willing to put a smile on somebody's face!.. Mostly because "Being Funny" is part of his. You know. Purpose.
Googly can talk. He just prefers not to. But when he does, it's usually a well-delivered "wamp wamp" at a situation. His voice is quiet, so it may not be heard. It's not repeating, though. :). (He can say other things, it's just usually meme phrases.)
His summonable is a bike horn, in which he can mentally change the volume of at any time. He can make it reappear and disappear at will! Googly does honk softly when he walks. Don't bring him on a spy mission.
Due to being made by a Meme Guardian, he has unnatural properties of Imaginary Being status. AKA, it can perform memes and GMod stunts as if it were completely natural for it. Also, having rubber bones is. Not normal for an Imaginary Being. He can spin his head 180 and slither like a snake, of course it's not normal. But we love Googly.
I hope you guys like Googly as much as I do! :3

How about 'Alex’s work experience'
So this is a Slow Horses / Alex Rider crossover idea because they totally conceivably exist in the same extended spy universe where intelligence operatives are running all over London.
But the premise being Alex (Rider, you may have heard of him 😅) post-SCORPIA being sent to Slough House for ‘work experience’ that’s mostly just a punishment from Blunt/General reminder of how good he has it as a forcibly conscripted child spy, and how much he’d probably actually hate working a boring office job. Featuring lots of Alex getting a grim vision of his future in the mirror of himself that is River Cartwright, everyone freaking out about what to do with the sixteen year old foetus sitting in their break room, but Alex being the most proven/experienced/capable agent amongst the junior horses, and everyone else slowly picking up on that, but still with a baffled sort of horror bc. Why can the baby kill.
Snippet -
‘There must have been an email, at some point, with enough information to let Ms Standish know to expect him, but no doubt vague enough to explain how, and why Aldersgate was going to be hosting a teenager for a little less than a month, and Alex sincerely doubted that anyone really knew what exactly ‘Work experience at Slough House’ could possibly look like.
Alex had resigned himself to four weeks spent mostly making tea, studying for his re-sits, and surreptitiously checking his phone when no one was looking to send whinging snap chats to Tom complaining about his plight. The lucky bastard was spending his month with his brother in the desert, filming the last stretch of whatever ultra-mega-marathon-bike-riding-skydiving-thrill–seeking-spectacular he was doing, making up for lost time when Tom had turned down a similar opportunity to unwittingly help Alex join a terrorist organisation a few months back.
Alex tried not to be jealous, even as he grew increasingly sure that the water stain on the wall infront of him was growing and contorting into strange new arcane shapes before his very eyes, and tried not to think about the last video Tom had sent him, whooping in terrified delight from the passenger seat of a dune-buggy launching itself over sandy precipices.
Alex hadn’t even bothered to look for his own work-experience placement, certain that anything he chose would be taken away from him anyway, with Blunt and Jones presenting some far-too-good-to-be-true opportunity to him, that they’d promise would give him just as good, if not better experience than whatever it was he’d chosen for himself, only, if he just could do them the small favour of keeping his eye on this one, barely important issue… and then before he knew it the whole thing would explode into violence and blood-shed and death-defying stunts and literal explosions.
Slough House hadn’t been expected.
It’s a punishment, he’s certain, for spraining his wrist free-running outside of working hours, and rendering himself unfit for operations under the strict terms of his new employment contract, with probably some leftover resentment from the whole defection and attempted assassination thing encouraging Blunt to be particularly inventive and spiteful in his cruelty.’
#Yassen is lurking about bc I need him to be#line I couldn’t include but when everyone’s asking Alex who he is and he’s thinking about the shit he’s got up to#‘A few months ago I followed an assassin who killed the last of my family to join a terrorist organisation and train under him#and had intended to assassinate the deputy of my department so now the boss has sent me here as punishment?#P.S don’t worry about the assassin he’s one of the most stable adult figures in my life right now!’#ask game#alex rider#slow horses#my fics#alex rider fanfiction#slow horses fanfiction

Stunt gone wrong

Summary: Yeonjun´s girlfriend y/n helps out as a stunt double, but the stunt goes wrong and she ends up with a semi-serious injury.
Genre: angst, fluff(?)
Pairing: bf!Yeonjun x fem!reader
Word Count: 889
Warnings: Injuries, mentions of blood, hospital
[notice: it´s my first time writing for TXT and my brain was somewhat foggy and didn't want to cooperate properly, but I still hope you all will like it!]

Y/n was asked to jump in as Beomgyu´s stunt double for his fall off the bike in the MV for Loser=Lover. She didn't mind, after all, it's not that hard to safely fall from a moving bike. Yeonjun didn't really like it, but he didn't stop her, he's supportive of his girlfriend and her hobby, which turned into a part time job for TXT and sometimes for their big brothers BTS. Being a background dancer, who also has experience in being a stunt double, y/n often helps out when they need someone and her looking similar to Beomgyu at this time, she was perfect for this stunt.
However, this day felt off somehow. The bike was wobbly underneath her, but y/n didn't mention it, she didn't want the shooting to be delayed because of her. So, she gritted her teeth and thankfully, the first shoot made it into the video. When she fell, her head hit the street where they were filming a bit harder than anticipated, but y/n shrugged it off, so no one really paid attention to her through the rest of the shooting.
That is, until Yeonjun noticed his girlfriend being quite pale and just sitting leaned against one of the equipment boxes. In one of his breaks, he walked over with a concerned look on his face, crouching down next to her.
“Hey, y/nnie, you okay?” He asks quietly, head tilted just a bit as he tried to check her for any signs of injuries or anything, but he couldn't make out anything, since her head was lowered and the hood of her sweater was up.
“Yeah, it's just a scratch, don't worry Yeonjun,” she whispered, but winced lightly when she moved her head. This didn't go unnoticed by Yeonjun and when he reached out to cup her cheek gently, he froze in place. Her cheek felt slightly scraped and there was something wet and warm.
Carefully, he removed her hood and a gasp escaped him. She was bleeding, along the side of her face, her skin was scraped open and her temple seemed to have hit the asphalt a little too hard.
“Shit, fuck. Y/n, this is not just a scratch!” He hissed out, head poking up to look around and when he spotted Soobin close by, he yelled for his friend. “Soobin! Get me that first aid kit and call an ambulance, right now!”
Soobin did as told and he did it quickly, running over to where Yeonjun and y/n were positioned, his jaw dropping when he saw her face. “Shit- here, Beomgyu is calling the ambulance now. Can I do anything else?”
“I don't kn- hey, hey y/nnie, baby, stay with me-” Yeonjun’s voice got panicky when he noticed y/n drifting off and tilting aside, his eyes widened in panic. Soobin quickly reacted and sat down next to her to steady her against himself while Yeonjun talked to her.
“Hey, remember what you told me earlier, y/nnie? You wanna tell Soobin too?” He asked, fumbling with the first aid kid, his hands trembling in panic. Soobin took the pack from Yeonjun and opened it, hoping that the ambulance would arrive quickly. Beomgyu soon came over too, carrying a bottle of water. “Here. How's she doing?” He asked quietly while Yeonjun applied a bandage around her head to stop the bleeding a bit at least.
“Yeo-…’m so sleepy…” Y/n’s voice was mostly a slurred whisper, Yeonjun looking helplessly at his girlfriend and then at his two friends. Even though he's the oldest of them, he doesn't know what to do right now.
“You can sleep in a bit, okay? Tell me something, y/n. How did you like our outfits today?” It was Soobin’s voice, calm and soothing. He knew that she'd have to stay awake and with a nod towards their oldest, he gestured Beomgyu to help Yeonjun to wash his hand and calm down. “Hmm…like Yeonjun more in…his soft warm sweaters…” she whispered, smiling, but then her head dropped against Soobin's shoulder and he could hear a quiet snore. “No, no you can't sleep, Y/n, c'mon.”
Alerted by those words, Yeonjun spun around to look at his friend and his girlfriend, panicking, his breath hitched in his throat. He just wanted to hurry over, but then Kai already came running, followed by a medic and soon the ambulance stopped right where they were.
Y/n was rushed to the hospital and the five boys followed, neither was allowed to sit in the ambulance with her. It took almost two hours of waiting in the ER, Yeonjun pacing around in the waiting area of the hospital while Soobin tried to calm his hyung.
“She's in room 319, it's on the third floor. Don't worry, she'll be fine, it was nothing life threatening, just a concussion.” The doctor said when he came out as he was stopped by Beomgyu. Kai couldn't hold back a little chuckle when he heard the room number, but soon followed his hyungs to the room. All of them were relieved, when they saw y/n sitting in the hospital bed, smiling at her favorite boys. Yeonjun didn't hold back and ran over, carefully kissing her with a teary laugh, he had been so horribly worried.

WIP Anagram Acrostic Game
I'm afraid my inner pedant prevents me from calling this game an anagram lol. But thank you for the tag @justabigoldnerd
Rules: From your story/WIP, find sentences that start with each letter of the given word. (I was able to find sentences relatively easily by searching for the letter preceded by a space and a period in my doc)
My Word: SOAR Your Word: BOLT (I stuck with a four letter random word but go nuts I guess)
S
Strong hands grab his arm and shoulder, holding on like he can’t decide whether to hold him still or help him.
O
One person he’s never had to worry about was Henry, though, because after his brief stint as a second unit director, Henry graduated to directing the kinds of movies that don’t involve stunts, mostly the kind of gut-wrenching interpersonal dramas the critics fucking love.
A (I purposefully did not go with any of the many sentences that began "Alex" lmao)
As he’s yanking the bike up again, though, his focus is shattered by a loud “Cut!” barked through the mic on his helmet.
R
Regardless, Taylor’s hotness had very little to do with Alex’s decision to do this movie, particularly because they could almost be brothers.
Ok, this is a weird one so def no pressure, but I'll tag a bunch of folks under the cut. Also if this seems like a game you want to jump in on, please do!

another fic! this was commissioned by @yourfriendlyneighborhoodmeme, a long-time follower of my blog <3 if you'd like to commission me, i take [writing comms] and [art comms!]
pairing: yui kimura x reader x thalita lyra word count: 1,375 warnings: mild description of canon-typical violence, usage of they/them for reader summary: One night, after a trial, a discussion with your girls turns a bit serious.

You and Thalita walk towards the campfire, out of the dark, foggy forest and into the warm light. You beam when you notice Yui already sitting there, atop a log, waiting for both of you, pensively poking a stick into the little fire. Thalita calls for her attention, and she smiles and waves when she notices that it’s the two of you.
“Ah, come here, guys! I missed you two so much.” Yui ushers both of you over, and as soon as you two can, you both sit on the dirt near her and the warm fire. “You look like you took a beating. What happened out there tonight?” there was, of course, an undertone of concern; but mostly, Yui seemed proud of you. She always was.
“Nah—” you wave your hand, smiling sheepishly. “Nothing. Nothing that doesn’t happen all the time, anyways. Same old, same old.”
“They are so lying. You should’ve seen them out there!” Thalita playfully shoves your shoulder, grinning. “That killer had us both down, but unfortunately, went for them first. I was terrified, but they told me not to worry…” she nods her head towards you. “I didn’t see that they’d picked up a shard of glass. And neither did the killer. And when they picked them up, they stabbed it into their shoulder and got me back up and we took off!” she grabs your shoulders and rocks you around.
Yui stretches her arm out to tousle your head, the way a proud parent would. “Hell yes! See, I told you knowing that would come in handy.” she crinkles her nose, smiling all big. “I learned it from one of the other girls. I should teach you something else with the lockers.”
“Yui, you’ve always got good tips, but the lockers?” Thalita chuckles.
“No, seriously, it’s—”
“I’m sorry, but I don’t think even this one could pull off a stunt like that with one of those.” Thalita nudges your arm with her elbow.
“Ah, Thali, let’s hear her out,” you bump Thalita’s shoulder with yours.
“Yeah! C’mon, I’ve got all the good tips, remember?” Yui stretches her foot over to Thalita and shakes it around.
“Wait a second! Wait a second—” Thalita snorts, swatting Yui’s sneaker away. “Be quiet for a second!” she waves her hand around a little, and looks around.
You and Yui both exchange a bewildered look before looking back at her, silently wondering what made her do that. She’s quiet, and turns her head back to face you two, eyes flickering between you, like a deer caught in headlights; almost like she’s expecting you two to catch onto whatever she heard or saw without an explanation from her.
You blink at her, and wait for the answer to come to you. You’re not sure it will, but she’s not saying anything. But that’s when you notice it — a subtle wave through her curly hair, and a coolness over your face. A breeze. You couldn’t remember the last time you felt a breeze. You had long thought anything purely natural didn’t exist here, and surely this wind was fabricated, too, but— it was nice. For once, for one shining moment, everything felt real again.
“A breeze…” Yui observes, seeming just as surprised as you are. “Wowww. Really makes me miss being on my bike,” she smiles. “With the wind in my hair, blazing down the streets. The city lights were so beautiful at night.”
“The windy beaches in Brazil,” Thalita adds, folding her arms atop the log and resting her cheek on them. “Ah, I’d give anything to run through the sand with a kite behind me again. The wind in my hair, and Renato laughing so much he topples over…”
You smile warmly. You don’t have anything to add, but hearing your girlfriends reminisce about the good old times really lifts your spirits.
“Maybe one day we can get back there.” Yui suggests, looking at you, then at Thalita. “I mean…there just…has to be some way out of this place, right? We could find it and get everyone out of here. We could all go home.”
Thalita completely lights up. “That would be nice. I want everyone to be able to go home.” her smile is so sweet.
Your heart drops almost as quickly as it had risen. Your stomach twists, both the topic making you feel awful, and the fact that you feel awful about it. It makes them so happy, the idea that everyone could get out of here, that they could be the ones to break the seal, or even that it could be done at all…but it makes you feel sick. You pull your knees up to your chest and scratch the back of your neck, silently hoping they change the subject quickly.
Yui notices the change in your body language. She tilts her head to look at you, and reaches out to grasp your shoulder. “Hey…you okay?” her eyebrows furrow. “You miss your family back home?” she gives you a small, sympathetic smile.
You put your hand over hers. “I actually…don’t have anyone back home.” you admit, raking your eyes over the black dirt. “So I don’t think there’d be a reason for me to leave this place, really. I just—” suddenly, it all spills out, you just can’t stop yourself; “I was all alone before I came here, and I finally found my people and my purpose here, and— and it would be like losing everything I’ve ever had, if I…if I left.”
The girls both look at each other, eyes widening. Neither of them seem entirely sure how to react to your confession— their expressions tell you that what you said was likely the very last thing they expected to come out of your mouth. But it was all the truth. And they knew that, of course.
Every organ in your body descends to the bottom. You totally killed the mood. Maybe you should’ve pretended you had family and friends and a job you loved and hobbies that made you happy back where you came from, so that they would still be happy. You shouldn’t have—
Without a word, Thalita springs forward and pulls you into a bear hug, leaning her head into the crook of your neck. As if on cue, Yui shuffles off the log and wraps her arms around your middle, pressing her cheek against the back of your neck. You knew they both loved you deeply, but these actions still caught you by surprise, somehow. In an instant, you felt overwhelmed by their shared love for you; like suddenly, everything was okay.
“I had no idea,” Yui says softly, nudging her temple against your spine.
“You should’ve said something sooner!” Thalita only half-scolds, notably non-threatening and all concern. “I would’ve invited Renato to hang out with us so much more often. He’s just as much your brother as he is mine.” she says, “he always wishes the three of us could go fly kites together on the beach. Every time he wonders if we’ll ever get to do that again, he asks, can I please take you with us?”
“My girls back home would love you. They’d all want to take you out for a ride the second they met you.” Yui sounds so happy remembering her girls. “But they’d have to wait their turn. Your first ride would have to be with me.”
You smile. Everything feels warm now.
“But, if we ever did get out of here, you know that we’d find you, right?” Yui moves her head to sit on your shoulder, opposite Thalita. “No matter where you were, or where we were, we’d find you.”
“And we’d bring everyone else with us! You’re important to everyone here. Especially us.” Thalita leans in to kiss your cheek. “You wouldn’t have to be alone long. And after that, never again! We’d make sure of it.”
You can’t help but laugh a little, they’re just making you so happy. “Thanks, girls. I love you.”
They both lean in to kiss your cheeks, muttering their own “I love you”s back and holding you tightly. You know exactly how loved you are now, here, in the fire-warmed corner of this dark and awful place.

nobody asked but here are my personal headcanons about Vorona
– Vorona eventually starts vaping, Shizuo is not happy about this (he knows better than anyone that smoking is bad) but who's he to judge? plus he likes the smell
– eventually Vorona starts working in film industry as a stunt woman, this was Kasuka's idea
– this led to her and Shizuo barely seeing each other, until one day he offers her moving in together with him which makes it better, they still don't see each other every day, but it's much more often
– Vorona is a very good stunt woman due to her physical abilities and combatant skills, but is a horrendous actor (got small role offering once)
– Vorona isn't bothered by Shizuo's smoking, almost all men surrounding her from childhood were heavy smokers, including her dad, and it wasn't even good stuff
– Vorona made Shizuo have a sparring with her, he barely attacked her directly at the beginning, but started to do so when she successfully dodged all his moves and managed to get him on the ground (using his lack of technique against him), both had fun
– She doesn't like dresses or skirts due to them being too revealing during fighting. When she's wearing them, she's challenging herself to fight with her hands and torso only (not fighting is not an option obviously)
– Celty eventually warms up to Vorona when she realizes she means no harm, just like Shizuo she's kinda flattered with admiration of her power and also she finds Vorona's way of talking similar to the one she once had
– they're bonding over bikes
– Tom tried to lure Vorona into manga, but got overwhelmed by her amount of questions about weird stuff from there (like the amount of fanservice and sus stuff). He's still recommending her some stuff from time to time, but now the quality bar is in the skies
– Vorona has plenty of knowledge about cooking and even knowing some receipts by heart from books, but isn't this good on practice (mostly she gets frustrated every time recepy says like "50 mins in oven on 180" but it ends up being not enough or way too much)
– Erica once dragged Vorona into cosplay and even got her wearing sexy outfit but got disappointed by her inability to smile for a camera
– Vorona cuts all ties to her family and it's name, Shizuo was thinking about getting a blessing from her old man, but it never happened
– Vorona never had an official name, she wasn't officially registered anywhere in her country, all her documents are fake. After she moved to Japan she decided to stick with her fake passport name for all legal actions
– Shizuo never calls Vorona by fake name, even on their wedding, dude pretends he doesn't see it every time some docs need to be filled in
#durarara#durarara!!#vorona#shizuo heiwajima#heiwajima shizuo#shirona#shizurona#most of it comes from my fanfiction im working on rest will hopefully appear in fanart someday#content for me only lmao#tanaka tom#celty sturluson

Yo girl - Chapter 1 // Hazel Callahan x Reader

Series summary: you are a part of the most popular clique in school, though you don't feel like you fit in well with them and it all goes downhill once you get to know the new girl at your school
A/n: the series is based mostly on the 1989 film "Heathers" and a little bit on the 2010 musical adaptation, reader is based on Veronica Sawyer, some characters might be a bit ooc, I tried my best to minimize that though. This series may contain some things that may disturb some people, I further elaborate in the warnings. Also keep in mind that I'm not native in English so there might be some grammatical errors or typos I didn't notice. Also if you'd like to be tagged when new chapters come out let me know, I'll make a taglist.
Series warnings: depictions of violence, murder, mentions of suicide, bombs, bullying, and sexual harassment. These warnings weren't written in any particular order.
Series summary: you meet Hazel on your way to a college party with Isabel. The party goes more wrong than you could ever imagine, angry frustrated and humiliated what's one more bad decision? So you decide to go to her house in the middle of the night.
Chapter warnings: sexual harassment, puke.
[prologue] [part 2] [part 3]
Isabel, Brittany, Stella and I were hanging out in my backyard after school, discussing today's events "There's no way they let her stay in this school after what she did today" Isabel told me "I mean I don't think they're going to expel her, I think they're just going to suspend her" Stella replied "Yeah I mean she barely did anything, she just gave them a couple bruises and ruined a pair of pants, or maybe not, I mean can you bleach out urine stains?" I joked "well you seem amused, I thought you gave up on high school relationships" Isabel said "yeah, well maybe not"
We were disturbed by my parents telling Stella her mom came to pick her up. After they all left I decided to go to my room to get ready to the party.
I was now at a 7/11 to get me and Isabel a snack on our way to the party when I saw her there too "omg hi, didn't think I'd see you here" I said "well it's kind of like the only familiar place around for me" she replied "really?" "yeah, I mean every 6 months or so we move, this is really the only thing that stayed the same no matter where I am" hearing that I couldn't help but feel bad for her "must be tough" "you get used to it..." the topic seemed a bit sensitive for her so I decided to change the it "that stunt you pulled in the cafeteria was pretty extreme, don't you think?" I asked her "well the extreme always seems to make an impression, plus I wasn't just going to sit there and take their bullshit" "fair I guess" "so are you getting anything with that?" she asked and pointed to the bag of corn nuts I took "no, but if you're nice I'll let you buy me a slushie" I told her "great, cherry or coke?" "cherry"
We got out of her store and she went to her motorbike "Nice bike" "thanks, it was a gift from my mom, at least I can have that" "yeah, must be tough constantly moving around I guess" "I mean, not everyone's life is perfect, is yours?" she asked "yeah, sure" I chuckled, but was cut off by the honk coming from Isabel's car and by the look on face it didn't seem like she appreciated me hanging out with Hazel "no, my life's not perfect, I don't really like my friends" I told her "me neither" she replied "it's like they're people I work with and our job is being popular and shit" I said "I think it's time you took a break" I bid her goodbye and went back to Isabel.
The party was honestly one of the shittiest experiences of my life, Isabel decided to go hang out with a guy and left me completely on my own and this one college guy who's name I couldn't even be bothered remember just stuck to me. After a while he decided to take me to this room and he was just so insistent on getting me to sleep with him so I just left the room, I was also feeling really sick and I wanted to look for Isabel to tell her to go home but at the same time I couldn't move because it felt like if I did I would throw up all over the place.
She finally saw me and when she came over she said "what the hell do you think you're doing, jake said you were being a real bitch" "Isabel I feel really sick can we go home please?" "what? No, we're not going" I was about to reply but before words could come out of my mouth puke did, and I vomited right on her shoes.
She was so clearly mad as she took me outside, she was just berating me and I was so over it at this point "I got you into a college party and that's how you thank me? by throwing up all over my shoes?!" she yelled and I just answered "lick it up baby lick. it. up" "Oh now you've done it, I want you to know that when the weekend is over monday rolls around and you're back at school you're as good as a corpse"
As I was sitting in my room writing about this in my diary I heard the window open and looked to see out of all people "Hazel?" I asked I swear this day feels more and more like a fever dream "Sorry for coming in through the window, dreadful etiquette I know"
taglist: @freakyelf-ontheshelf

Meet the Punctuation Siblings
The Punctuation Siblings are the humanized versions of the four punctuation marks: period, comma, question mark, and exclamation point. They all get into different conflicts, whether it's in their own home or outdoors or with each other.
Each one of them represents a specific punctuation mark.
Peter Period (Age 10-12) is the humanization of a period. He is often the voice of reason and acts mature for his young age. He likes to play basketball, baseball, golf, and bike racing. He is really good at playing board games and cleaning his room and often cook with his mom. His role as a period is to say things at a full stop.
Clarissa Comma (Age 7-8) is the humanization of a comma, and she is the youngest of the family. Clarissa likes playing outside, watching TV, and spending time with her older siblings. Clarissa often keeps the family together no matter what situation they get into. Her role as a comma is to take a slight pause at every thought, and she is really good at listing things too.
Mysteria Question (Age 16) is the humanization of a question mark and is the secret boss for Deltarune Chapter 5. Mysteria is always curious about everything, so she carries a notebook and magnifying glass with her, and always asks questions, and would not rest until she finds an answer to that question. She mostly watches mystery documentaries and true crime, making her feel like a real detective, however . . . . . . . .
Alex Exclamation (Age 18-19) is the humanization of an exclamation point, and is the oldest sibling. Alex is the wildest sibling in the family, because he does a lot of extreme skateboard stunts and vlog them online, but can often get hurt when a stunt goes wrong. He likes to listen to loud music and be in football matches. Alex is the most excited about everything, considering that he is the personification of an exclamation point.

👫 if, hypothetically speaking, I said that noland is a motor sports star in a pro athlete verse, what would u cook up 🧐
four hcs / always accepting!!
(oh yes, we're in our SPIKE QUEEN era now...🏐)
Lucy and Noland met for the first time during an exhibition showcase in Unova's Big Stadium. The entire Lilycove Lightning volleyball team (who was visiting from overseas) was dazzled by Noland's freestyle motocross skills--except for Lucy, who scoffed and claimed that she could pull off even better stunts. While meeting the team, the hyper-competitive ace said this right to Noland's face, igniting a (mostly) playful cross-sport rivalry between the two.
Lucy abandoned team dinners and other activities to hang out with Noland and his crew, where she was introduced to the world of underground street racing, which replaced the motocross bikes with some seriously souped-up cars. Lucy surprised Noland's crew with her fearlessness, almost beating Noland in a head-to-head drag race. From then on, she would train with Noland's crew and race around Nimbasa--and later, the New Mauville tunnels--with them.
Lucy tried teaching Noland volleyball, once. He received a full-powered serve straight to the nose. They do not play volleyball together anymore.
The Lilycove Lightning loathes Lucy's new hobby, and has made numerous attempts to stop its star from racing (citing justifiable injury concerns.) So when Noland and Lucy meet up, they usually have to do so in secret, away from the prying eyes of team officials and the ever-present paparazzi.
#noitxll#(TOO FAST / TOO FURIOUS)#(i just pictured noland mastering both the bike and the car in this au. motorsports god)#(thank you for indulging my au hehe)#unwinding. (memes & asks)

Hi hello I voted : D
May I redeem my votes for a one shot about the Oak-Garcia twins? Bonus points for sweet brother moments : D
Yes you may
this is set post s1 pre stabbing(he they sparrow she they lark)
The twins stood in their room staring at their bunk bed that felt far to tall . They glanced at each other and made a decision to make their bed into two after their time in the faerune sleeping apart felt odd and did nothing but make the nightmares of oakvale worse sparrow
Lark spoke first “do you think we could ‘borrow’ a saw or something from Darryl without Henry knowing”
“if we do it fast enough father won't know until it is to late”a mischievous grin spread across sparrows face as he relaxed slightly this felt right again them scheming to mess with their dad
"do you think he keeps a saw in the Odyssey-San or would we need to get into his garage "
"i think i saw a hacksaw last time he drove us to practice why don't i distract him while you get it"he smiled brightly
"i'm going tell Henry we are going to hang out with terry so we have an alibi " lark steps out of the room and head down to find Henry "we are going to hang with terry jr good bye " they spoke vaguely in Henry's direction as they made their way out
sparrow gave his dad a hug on the way out" ill make sure she's back for dinner"
the two hopped on their bikes and headed for the wilson household a grin spread across larks face as a familiar van came into view lark slowed her pace so she wasn't seen approaching along side sparrow who made his way inside
Lark moved around to the passenger side of odyssey San carefully opening the door and sliding in carefully climbing into the trunk many memories of the forgotten realms flooding back; their father spilling iodine, them stunt driving away from their granddads, stalling out by the portal, driving back home finding their moms. She quickly grabbed the saw before popping open the door and sliding out.
She placed the saw on their bike handle then placed two fingers to their lips and let out a sharp whistle to let sparrow no she got it before starting back home.
Lark climbed up the tree with the hack saw bouncing lightly against her leg as she made his way in the window.
Sparrow heads in the front door he placed a quick kiss on Mercedes's cheek as they passed through in the living room and back up to their room
Both stared at the bed trying to figure out how to get started on separating the bunks they got to work carefully maneuvering the bed onto its side trying to make as little noise as possible before they started cutting
Sparrow quickly checked the hall for either parent one last time before nodding to lark" all clear"
She started sawing at the post in her guesstimate of the point that would make them the same height
Sparrow sat next to her "how much trouble do you think we're about to be in"
"oh I'm guessing close to being found out as Lord of Choas" Lark chuckled softly remembering one of the few good times from the forgotten realms
"that was fun until dad got naked "he shuddered slightly "I sometimes wonder how they decided on that wild course of action "
"who's idea was that do you think?"
"Probably Glenn or Darryl since they were the first to get naked "sparrow grabbed the saw and moved to the leg across from lark and started cutting
"i kinda miss it "she pause for a moment "being the lord of chaos not the rest of it "
"I miss it to but being a wolf is fucking awesome more importantly I missed this" he gestured to the bunk bed with cuts through two of the legs "doing stuff because we can doing stuff together and you being excited about it"
Lark looks up at him "I guess I do to"she smiled softly
They continued to saw just chatting about various unhinged plans they'd pulled in the past
It wasn't until they'd mostly finished putting them next to eachother when Henry stepped into the room
"dinner Is almost re- " Henry stopped himself seeing the mess of saw dust and no longer attached bunk beds he let out a sigh of thinly veiled anger before walking back downstairs muttering enough profanity to make a sailor Blush
#dungeons and daddies#im sorry this took so long#my brain decided we knew nothing about the boys#lark and sparrow#lark Garcia#sparrow oak garcia

Which Lost Boy do you take care of the most? If I were their nurse (mostly Marko's nurse), my drug to them would be my love!
Awwww all the boys are so wonderful! But to be honest, the person I take care of the most is Laddie! He's just a little kid, so he can get a lot of scrapes and bruises from playing. I'm always sure to give him a fresh bandaid and a lollypop whenever he comes in.
But if I absolutely had to pick one member of the gang, then it would definitely be Paul. He's very playful and goofy and his shenanigans sometimes get him into trouble. I've had to patch him up after he tried to do a crazy stunt on his bike or help treat a small burn he got from trying to light up a joint. He's so silly!
Though I will say that despite any injuries the boys get, they have an incredibly fast healing process!
~ Bree ❤️🩹

I don’t know if this was always the plan or if he’s just doing PR filler because other things are on hold or to prove he’s 1000 miles from Louis, but I feel like I’m cringing my way thru every day and every sighting of Harry right now. Like, my face is one of these whenever these oh so organic events happen 🫤😬🙄. And honestly, like, the Lime bike shit is sending me. It’s such a hamfisted and idiotic partnership. I get he’s sledgehammering his way thru promo and stunts for what looks like multiple connections to fashion week, but I’m mostly like, “Harry, you good? Because PR desperation is not looking great on you.”
I guess I don’t really get why it bothers people when he’s just tooling around. It’s such a whatever to me. I agree the Lime thing is bizarre. But, I guess he figured he might as well make some money if he has to be out there. It might all make a lot more sense when we see if he’s got some projects coming up. But I always look at this stuff like it could be so, so much worse. So if all he has to do is ride a bike around or have lunch with TR, then I’m happy to see his face.

My ramblings on RE: Death Island
Y'all RE: Death Island opened in PH cinemas today and here are my thoughts on some of the scenes. Leaks have been going around on TW since this morning, so I'm dividing my ramblings into four sections.
WARNING: HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD
Can confirm:
-Definitely Jill's time to shine. Everyone was like..."If there's Jill, there's hope..."
-She even has a big ass plasma rifle scene (probably a tribute to re3r)
-Movie more or less confirms that Jill has met Leon and Claire before. Their first scenes with Jill were like "hey, how's it going?" situations.
-Chris and Claire sibling interactions! We haven't been blessed with those since Code Veronica, nice.
Want to clear out:
-Pertaining to an early leak which caused quite a ruckus on TW: Maria was climbing over Leon like a koala to a tree during their fight scenes, but never once did he flirt with her or anyone else for that matter. He even called Maria "Arias' bitch" who could finally be with her Dad again after she died by Leon's hands. Kinda brutal coming from Leon if you ask me.
-This Leon came in with a luggage-ful of cringey but kinda funny one-liners. He reminds me of Damnation!Leon and I didn't sense any undertones of depression in him! Though he still hates his job (he refers to it as just a "living"), Leon seems to be in a much better place this time around. This scene literally happened:
Leon blurts out a one liner
Jill musters up an Oscar-worthy "Ugh...really?" reaction
Jill, probably:
Want to add:
-Movie was about how people respond to trauma differently. Dylan practically experienced the same sh*t as the main cast in RC, but he had chosen to side with the villains.
-Really nice to see this new model of Leon in action, doing re4r-esque stunts. That was kinda missing in ID, tbh. Also Leon and bikes look hot together, but can never be good news.
-Other character relationships in a nutshell, for those who are interested.
Jill and Leon -> This was definitely their buddy cop movie. I know people like to bully Leon for being "dumb" or for whatever reason, but Jill clearly respects his skills the same way Leon respects hers.
Jill and Chris -> Movie makes it clear that Chris absolutely cares about Jill. You can interpret it as both platonic and romantic (not very much so on the latter, though). I love Chris' "Welcome back!" line to Jill in the end and their little fist bump.
Chris and Leon -> I'd say they're like old co-workers who definitely know how to defeat BOWs. That's about it. They are mostly in action scenes together, with very little dialogue.
Rebecca and Claire -> Had great moments of nerdiness together (I mean that in an affectionate way), but very few action scenes compared to the other 3 mains.
Can't say much about the other character combos, tbh. There was no mention of the ID conflict bet Leon and Claire. They have very little interactions in the film, probably less than a min. of dialogue? Just Leon saying Claire's name when they saw each other for the first time in the film (not even sure if that was Chris or him even), and then a scene where he ordered her and Rebecca to go mess around with the computers (ala ID).
-That character with a special mention in the early leaks -> It was Chris talking about Piers from re6. Unfortunately, there were no surprise appearances from other fan-fave characters.
-The ending was your classic "heroes staring into the sunset after one hella fight" cliche, but t'was nice nonetheless haha
Overall:
It's everything you expect from a Resident Evil movie. Campy and with a weak plot, but gets redeemed by featuring a sh*t ton of welcome fan service (both good and bad). I like it better than Vendetta.
Supposedly a 10/10, but that licker scene was a disservice to Jill, so 9/10.
