Lloyd couldn't get any weirder. To add onto his sudden change in demeanor, he'd begun to get reckless with his scent as well. When that scent would hit him full force every morning, leave his nose twitching when Lloyd gets into the rhythms of his new work and when it calms into something comforting around noon; when the days almost gone and Lloyd decides to rest.

Javier first chokes up this lack of scent control to Lloyd's cold turkey sobriety. But it's been weeks now. Almost two months and Lloyd still hasn't tried to restrain his scent. Worse, others seem to be picking up on it as well. Loitering around the young master when they get the chance, chatting it up now that Lloyd wasn't defaulting to throwing chairs and yelling. Lloyd himself doesn't seem to enjoy it either; after a few minutes of chatter his lip would start to twitch and that scent of Tangerine (it was definitely closer to tangerines than clementines) would sour. Javier learns to take that as close enough a hint to pry his master away from the crowd, spill a white lie about how he's needed elsewhere and get Lloyd some air. He tries not to be pleased about how Lloyd visibly relaxes when it's just the two of them.

"Master Lloyd–" Javier is at his wits end. He's a patient man. Strong willed and resilient when it comes to most obstacles. His Master however? His loud , arragont, obnoxious at times master being this stupid? Javier is a patient man but he's a man nonetheless. A Knight who's had to deal with his masters turbulent scent that just doesn't want to leave him alone. And worse, Lloyd turns back to him with a genuine look of confusion (as genuine as it can be). Javier ends up questioning his master through a locked face and Lloyd in response looks bewildered. "The drinking must have hit me worse than I thought" is all he gets. Javier refuses the sleeping spell that night, throws a hand over his masters mouth before he can get a word in and declares to help him control his scent again. From then on they spend an hour every night before bed going through the motions, and Lloyd (after months) finally learns to control his own scent. Javier sighs in relief, and tries not to think about how he misses that familiar tangerine scent.

Master Lloyd seems to loose his filter as well. Not when around the staff, count or contracted men he's hired no. Only when it's just the two of them, in a moment of what Javier could've hoped was peace before his master opens his mouth. "You smell like mint." he says unabashed. "I'm safe when you're here aren't I?" He laughs with no shame. "I trust you." He declares. Javier understands this is comradery of some kind. A trust and faith in him that no one else has given him before. His master is far too good at feeding that quiet voice in the back of his mind, and Javier let's him. It's after they get back to the estate that Lloyd gets his heat. It's not hard to notice. He asks for seconds during meals, sleeps late into the mornings, speaks more with his summons than with anyone outside the estate and avoids half the staff like the plague. It's rather obvious when that overripe scent of tangerine clings to his skin and his expressions screams dazed more than anything. The count had noticed, Javier had as well, but Lloyd hadn't. Despite being days into Pre-heat, his master still drags himself out of bed and goes about the motions, despite how miserable he looks. Sweet Tangerine and hints of earth that hit him when the door opens. He finds his pillow then, tucked under his masters arm as if it belonged there. Javier blanks out for a moment. "Ah Javier! Great timing. I was just looking for you." Lloyd smiles. Something often quiet in Javier's gut comes to life then and there. He doesn't end up on the chair that night. Lloyd doesn't let him. Spouts nonsense about how the chair isn't comfortable and how important sleeping positions are and only shuts up when Javier relents. He ends up in Lloyd's nest, the only barrier between him and the other being his own damned pillow. He falls asleep without the sleeping spell that night.

✾ Compared to the other members, he is less consistent with meetups, not minding it too much when a lot of time passes between phone calls. You can go months without talking to each other before sending the other a random TikTok or stopping by each other's place unannounced.

Baekhyun:

✾ The two of you have a crazy story of how you met. You met Baekyhun shortly after moving into the same street. At the time, you were convinced mermaids were real, so you decided it was perfectly reasonable to dive into the river running next to your house to introduce yourself to them without actually being able to swim. Luckily for you, Baekyhun happened to be playing nearby and jumped in after you without a second thought, rescuing you from drowning. He still holds it over you whenever he needs a favour.  

✾ You have so many weird stories of when you were growing up together. You two would constantly get into trouble, most of it initiated by Baekyhun. It got to the point where your teachers decided to put you in different classes to prevent you two from pulling pranks during class.

✾ Your place is his place, and vice versa. On one occasion, you accidentally switched apartments; Baekyhun had gone over to yours whilst you had visited him. You still complain that he should cover your grocery bills as he tends to eat most of the food in your fridge whenever he is over.

Chen/Jongdae:

✾ Your dad and his dad were best friends, introducing you to one another when you were two years old in the hopes you would become best friends, too. At first, you two were painfully shy, hiding behind your fathers to stare at the other strange kid, but after leaving you two alone for an hour, you two became quick friends.

✾ He acts very much like a brother. Chen can be super annoying, teasing you whenever he gets a chance, but he will drop everything and anything when you call him. He will not let anyone else -not even his members- tease you; it is only okay if he does it.

✾ You two give each other the best advice. You guys regularly call each other to talk about whatever problems and hardships you are going through. 

✾ Chen wasted no time in asking you to be one of the bridesmaids at his wedding. God knows how much you contributed to the two getting together and how much time you spent helping Chen plan the proposal. 

✾ Chen and his wife immediately called you to ask whether you wanted to be the godmother the moment they discovered she was pregnant. He cannot wait for you to have a child of your own so they can become best friends, too.

Chanyeol:

✾ You two met in primary school when you were six, and your teacher decided to have you sit together. Chanyeol got super competitive when he discovered you had gotten a higher grade than him on a spelling test, resulting in a friendly rivalry. To this day, you two get along perfectly well, but the moment that grades or board games are involved, a war will break out.

✾ He 1000% bullied you into playing video games with him. Chanyeol even bought you a gaming laptop, trying to convince you to join him. Regardless of his schedule or location, you have a regular game night where you play random multiplayer games, affectionately yelling at each other.

✾ You developed a tiny crush on Chanyeol when you first saw him after he got his growth spurt. It did not last very long, however; you remembered he was the same Chayeol who once ate a crayon on a dare and puked the contents of his stomach all over your shoes.

✾ Chanyeol is the worst wingman. He is very protective over you, and, according to his opinion, nobody is good enough to date you. ✾ You met Kyungsoo as he is the son of your mother's best friend. His mother had asked yours to introduce you two as Kyungsoo was a painfully shy child, and she wanted him to have more friends his age. Initially, he was quiet around you, hiding behind his mother whenever she brought him over. However, he slowly came out of his shell the more you played together.  

✾ You two didn’t attend the same schools but remained good friends nonetheless. Whenever school would end, you would rush to meet up underneath a big old tree in the park near your house. You would sit there for hours, talking about your day or doing your homework together, until it got dark.

✾ Kyungsoo never told you, but you were the main reason why he pursued a career in acting and singing. You never failed to hype him up, giving him the confidence to put himself out there. He fondly remembers the countless karaoke nights where you would be his biggest fan, praising his skills when the song would end.

✾ He definitely developed a crush on you somewhere during your teenage years. Kyungsoo never felt the need to act on it, finding your friendship too precious to risk anything. His friends were very aware of it, though, teasing him whenever he would rush out the moment school ended to meet up with you.

Someone had pushed you off the wigwam, and Kai, seeing you cry, stood up for you as much as a three-year-old can stand up for someone else. It became your regular weekly meetup point, enabling you to stay connected even when you went to different schools. ✾ You recognize that Kai is incredibly handsome whenever you see him perform, but all you are able to see when he thrusts his hips is the same kid who once fell into a pond when he was collecting a bunch of rocks because he thought they were pretty and cried over a feather because he felt bad for the bird that lost it. Having so many embarrassing childhood memories of him is why you are still sane and not drooling over him.

✾ Kai bombards you with messages throughout the day; you once had over fifty notifications from him as he sent you every video and photo of a dog or cat he stumbled upon.

Sehun:

✾ You and Sehun met during daycare and initially did not get along whatsoever. You two got into a fight when Sehun stole the stuffed animal you were playing with, resulting in the caretaker putting the both of you in time-out. Weirdly enough, you bonded over your time in toddler jail, becoming inseparable after you were set free.

✾ Sehun and you constantly bicker with one another, having no problem calling the other one out or, as you like to put it, keeping the other person humble. To those who know you well, they liken your dynamic to that of an old married couple. However, people who do not know your friendship tend to assume you hate each other.

✾ Sehun gets insanely jealous when you hang out with his members or other friends of his. You are his friend, and as much as he likes his friends getting along, the bratty part of him hates when you do not have time for him. He will become incredibly whiny when too much time has passed between meetups and when he feels like you are ditching him for your friends.

✾ Sehun is your favourite gossip buddy. He will randomly call you to tell you whatever drama he witnessed or caught wind of. If calling is not an option, he will instead send you a thirty-minute voice note explaining the situation in full detail. Your chat is basically a podcast where you update one another about people you do not know and drama that does not concern you.

Baekhyun had known your members for years and through you got to hear more about them and he decided Nayeon would be the best person for his scheme. Jihyo, Jeongyeon and Sana would likely tell you right away. Mina, Tyuzu and Momo might not know how to discreetly ask you if they didn't know the answer. Chayoung and Dahyun were wild cards and so that left Nayeon as the safest option but how to approach her? Baekhyun figured some award show after-party would be his best bet. Whenever she went to the bar or the toilet someone went with her and Baekhyun thought he might not have a chance to talk to her...when Tzuyu who was guarding the table with Nayeon walked away leaving her alone. Baekhyun made a quick excuse to Lay about the bathroom and appeared beside her. "Hi!" he said sitting down next to her and Nayeon jumped "hi". "So we might not have much time so I'll just come out with it. Please don't tell Y/n but Suho is really enjoying being back with her and we've all been wondering if it will develop into more". Nayeon nodded "we've been thinking the exact same!". Baekhyun nodded "have you asked Y/n? What did she say?". Nayeon paused, unsure if you just tell Baekhyun and he smiled at her "I'm only asking because Suho wants it to be more but he's scared to ask Y/n in case she doesn't want to be and it ruins their relationship". He hoped telling Nayeon this would be a show of good faith and it worked. Nayeon looked down "we have asked Y/n but ages ago and she said they didn't work out dating last time so why would it work out this time?". Baekhyun was shocked and upset on behalf of Suho but Nayeon continued "however the girls pointed out that was ages ago when they were different people. Plus they never had this amazing chemistry and passion, so we told her it might be different now". "What did she say?" Baekhyun asked and Nayeon sighed "not much but she didn't disagree with our points...but like I said that was a few months ago so there's a chance she's changed her mind". "Do you think you could ask her?" Baekhyun asked "if you tell me that she has changed her mind then I can encourage Suho to ask her out! I just need to know Y/n won't break his heart". "Y/n would never be mean" Nayeon argued and Baekhyun nodded "I know but he's really fallen for her so if he worked up the courage to ask her and she said no it'd be hard for him. If she says no I won't tell him but we'll stop suggesting it to him and setting him up to fail". Nayeon nodded "okay, I'll speak to Y/n and text you?". "Yes, here's my number!" Baekhyun said handing her a slip of paper he'd already prepared. Nayeon nodded "okay I'll let you know as soon as I know" and with a wave she walked away.

Baekhyun didn't hear back for a whole week and the suspense was killing him. He'd drafted a message asking Nayeon if she'd asked you yet like 10 times before he stopped not wanting to be pushy. Nayeon was well aware Baekhyun was waiting for a reply but honestly there hadn't been any good time! You'd all been really busy with schedules and Nayeon hadn't got to be alone with you in ages. She knew if she just blurted it out to you, you’d immediately know something was up so she had to bide her time.Then one evening you were staying in and your roommate Jihyo was heading out. So Nayeon appeared at your door with a big smile. "What's going on?" you asked, clearly suspicious and Nayeon did her best to play it cool. "Nothing just we've hardly spoken all week and I missed you, fancy a catch-up?". "Of course!" you said welcoming her in and Nayeon flopped onto your bed with you. "Okay so what's new? How's your dating doing?". Nayeon quickly got roped into telling you the date she'd been on a few days ago and half an hour later she realised she'd gotten sidetracked. "Now enough about me, how are you? How's Suho?" Nayeon asked. You smiled at the mention of his name and nodded "he's good! He's back home this week because it's his brother's birthday". Nayeon nodded "cute, he's a good brother". You nodded "yeah he's so nice" and she smiled "and still hot?". You blushed nodding and Nayeon giggled "it's so nice that his niceness doesn't cancel that out". "If anything it makes it stronger" you explained "I see him being so kind and sweet and that makes me attracted to him and then he takes his shirt off and I want him even more". Nayeon laughed "that totally makes sense, nice guys are so hot" and you nodded. "So things are good between you?" Nayeon asked and you nodded "really good". Nayeon took a breath before going for the million-pound question "good enough for you to consider going official?". You paused and were quiet for a few seconds "I'm not sure". "Are you still worried about if you'd make it as a couple?" Nayeon asked. You nodded "yeah... it's difficult because I know we've changed but I'm happy now so why change it?". Nayeon paused "well I guess there's no reason to...except the security side of things". "Security side?" you asked and Nayeon nodded "yeah just if you're not exclusive Suho's allowed to sleep with other girls right?". You paused "I guess...". "Would you be okay with that?". The thought honestly hadn't occurred to you but now it did you knew the answer "no". Nayeon frowned "yeah I’d be the same...but I also agree with you, you should only date Suho if you want to be his girlfriend not just because you don't want someone else to be". You frowned "see that sounds nice, being Suho's girlfriend". Nayeon smiled "it does?" and you nodded "I'm just worried about all the expectation it brings with it! We already broke up once so there's added pressure for things to succeed this time and that's a lot to think about. Whereas at the moment there's none of that". "Who would put this pressure on you?" Nayeon asked "because you know none of us would think badly of you if you broke up. People break up all the time and breaking up is actually an incredibly mature thing to do. It's you showing you know when to call it a day and saving each other any hurt or pain. There's no shame in it". You nodded "I guess the pressure would come from me...and I don't want to hurt Suho, I'd hate myself if I hurt him". Nayeon took your hand "don't worry we all know you don't want to hurt him and Suho knows that". You nodded feeling teary and Nayeon squeezed your hand "plus I think you make Suho really happy so there's no need to worry about that. In a relationship or not he's smitten with you so you definitely make him happy". You blushed "thanks Nayeon" and she smiled "no problem" hugging you "wanna watch a movie?" and you nodded. Nayeon felt like she was low-key betraying you but she texted Baekhyun telling him you wanted to date Suho but were scared of the pressure increasing and of hurting Suho. Baekhyun thought you were so sweet and found it so telling how your main concern was hurting Suho. He thought that more than anything was why the two of you should be together. If you cared about someone that much you should give it a go but now he had to convince Suho of that. It was a win-win! So when he returned from the bar you smiled "you can go dance with Irene if you want" you said and Suho smiled at you "no it's fine". Meanwhile Baekhyun and Nayeon were watching the two of you for any sign Suho had asked you to be official. They saw how tense the two of you were but mistook that for "telling someone you want to date them" tension not "telling the person you like to go hook up with a beautiful idol". "Oh they look serious!" Baekhyun said excitedly and Nayeon sat forward "he must be asking her! I hope he can convince her". "He can" Baekhyun said "plus Y/n wants to be with him! So I bet after he tells her there's no pressure that will be it. She'll collapse into his arms". Nayeon grinned excitedly and then paused seeing you smile "oh she's happy! He must've said it!". She doesn't want a thing to change...except for me to hook up with other girls. I figured it must be because she's seeing other people and has only just realised I've not been. I feel like such an idiot" Suho said and Baekhyun went to tell him he must've got something wrong when Irene returned. "Yeri said she never asked me and none of the other girls did" looking at Baekhyun. Baekhyun paused "is she sure? Was it not her?". "Baekhyun what's going on?" Irene asked and Baekhyun turned to Suho "Hyung I really need to speak with you". Suho shook his head "stop messing around Baekhyun and leave us alone" and he put his arm around Irene and led her away. Suho and Irene danced for a while and flirted back and forth. They'd always been friendly but this was definitely something more and Irene had never looked at him the way she was tonight. Suho supposed he must be the luckiest guy in the world to have Irene look at him like that but he didn't feel happy on the inside no matter how smiley he was on the outside. All he could think of was you and how you didn't want him. They stopped dancing to grab a drink and Suho couldn't help but look around for you but you were nowhere to be seen. He wondered where you'd gone when Irene spoke "looking for someone?". "Of course not, who could look anywhere else when you're right in front of them?". Irene laughed "sure you weren't looking for Y/n?". Suho shook his head "no not at all, why would I?" replying far too quickly. "Are you and Y/n not a thing?" Irene asked "I'd heard you were back together". "We hook up but we're not together" Suho said "trust me that won't be an issue at all". "So she's okay with this?" Irene asked and Suho nodded "super okay". "And are you?" Irene asked and Suho froze. "What? Of course I'm okay with this! You're really pretty and I've always had a thing for you". Irene paused "are you sure? I saw you with Y/n earlier and you seem a little off sorts, did you argue or something?". Suho paused "I...not exactly". "Are you sure?" Suho said snapping and then he sighed saying it again slower "we're never going to be a couple again...I got my one shot with her and I blew it". Meanwhile outside Nayeon had finally calmed you down and understood the situation. "So you figured the only way you could still be with him and not hurt him was to let him date other people?" Nayeon asked and you nodded. "I figured I couldn't have him without sharing him so thought if I encouraged him to see other people then it wouldn't be so bad". "Y/n!" Nayeon said hugging you "I never said you were a bad person! I was just encouraging you to be open to dating Suho because he wants to ask you out!". "He does?" you asked and Nayeon paused "probably shouldn't have told you that". Suho felt like such a mess. Irene had been really nice to him and promised they could still be friends. She also told him to go and talk to you but Suho couldn't face any more rejection. So he was just heading home so he could dive head-first into bed when Chen and Kai approached him. "Hey is Y/n okay?" Chen asked and Suho paused "Y/n, I think so why?". "We saw her crying and wanted to make sure she was alright". "Crying? When?" Suho asked. They frowned "erm about an hour ago" Kai said and Chen nodded "it was after you two talked. Nayeon came over to her and she started crying". Suho felt so confused but he knew he had to make sure you were okay. "Did you see where she went?" he asked but they both shook their heads. Suho was looking around for you when he heard someone call his name. It was Baekhyun. "Can we talk now?" he asked and Suho shook his head "no where's Y/n? I need to talk to her". "I know where she is, we can talk on the way" Baekhyun said and he led Suho outside. "Nayeon what do you mean Suho wants to date me?" you asked and the girl sighed "okay don't hate me but Baekhyun told me Suho wanted to ask you to be his girlfriend but was worried you'd say no. Baekhyun didn't want Suho to get hurt so he asked me to see if you were open to dating Suho". "So that's what all those questions were the other day!" you said and Nayeon nodded "I'm so sorry but I just didn't want Suho to get hurt and Y/n I really think you'd be good together. You don't need to be this afraid". You sighed and went to argue when Suho stepped into the area where you were sat. Baekhyun had explained how Nayeon had asked you if you wanted to date and how they'd gotten in this mess. Suho was horrified and felt so bad. He couldn't believe he'd made you cry and no matter how much Baekhyun tried to comfort him he felt so guilty. Then Suho saw you, with your puffy red eyes and he froze. Seeing you so upset and knowing he was the cause was way worse actually seeing the evidence of it and he couldn't believe he'd been so stupid. You looked up and saw him and he realised he should probably move. "Suho?" you asked and he paused before coming towards you "Y/n I'm so sorry I made you cry! I only went after Irene because I thought you didn't want me and were trying to make me less clingy". "No I was trying to be nice and not leave you tied to me". "But I want to be tied to you" Suho said "in any way possible" and you blushed. "Okay so we're going to go" Baekhyun said gesturing to Nayeon and they rushed away leaving the two of you alone. "Just so you guys know my girlfriend might be over a lot more" and everyone froze. "Girlfriend?" Chanyeol asked and Suho nodded taking your hand "we're back together". The guys cheered and rushed to offer you their congratulations and Baekhyun claimed all the credit. "It was me who got them together you know?" he called loudly and you turned to him. "Yes that reminds me, you and Nayeon were scheming behind our backs weren't you". "Yeah...having those secret talks" Suho said putting a hand on his arm and Baekhyun froze "I...we only did it out of love and now look! The two of you are back together so you're welcome". You smiled "oh we'll find a way to thank you right Suho?". Suho nodded "definitely". Baekhyun paused looking between you two "I don't know if to be scared or turned on" making Suho lunge for him. Baekhyun screamed and ran around the house as Suho chased him. You watched amused until Lay gently touched your arm. "It's good to have you back Y/n". You smiled "good to be back".

from the moment they were dismissed by the evaluators, doors to the practice room clicking shut behind them, taejin was already pulling up the food delivery app on his phone and scrolling furiously through the menus on his screen. spicy fried chicken, braised pig trotters, stuffed-crust pizza, jjajangmyeon, tteokbokki. he barely paused to glance at the photos before adding them to his cart. after two weeks of dieting for this performance, taejin was more than ready to taste seasoning that wasn't salt or pepper—finally, a flavor profile beyond boiled eggs and chicken breast. they only had a few days before the start of their next assignment, and he had a mission to stuff as much sauce-drenched carbs into that time as possible.

two hours and several trips to the ground floor later, the feast is all assembled. containers of gently steaming food crowd the living room table, competing for space and spilling over the side. it's a massive spread, even by his standards, which is why he'd sent that s.o.s text to suho asking for his help in finishing it all.

"i hope you're hungry," he says, splitting his wooden chopsticks and handing his friend a pair. "the portion sizes are huge today and i'm not letting you leave before both of us are in a food coma."

he takes his seat on the floor, back against the couch, and reaches out to grab a piece of pork cutlet gimbap, popping it into his mouth with a groan. he's missed this. it was a cruel world they lived in, where good food just had to be bad for you.

"we deserve to celebrate, actually. it's a special occasion. did we or did we not just crush our performance today?" he pauses with a thought before quickly dismissing it with a wave. "like sure, i messed up the footwork in the second chorus and got scolded a little because of it, but overall our feedback was pretty damn good." taejin grins, shameless and bright. he raises his cup half-jokingly to a toast. "one step closer to our debut."

‘What am I supposed to watch then?’

“Hmm…. the traffic is still heavy, we are stuck for almost 10 minutes at the same spot” you utter to your husband, Byun Baekhyun, who is going with you to the SMTOWN Live 2023 at SMCU Palace.

“I know right. Usually, around this hour, there shouldn’t be many cars anymore” your husband feels strange as well while looking at the outside of the car. “Oh, maybe, all of these cars are going to the SMTOWN Live as well.”

“High possibility” you answer him. “I just hope we can get a good place to watch them.”

“Isn’t that they have given you a spot to watch the performance?” your husband gets curious.

“To be honest, they give me a backstage. But you know me, I don’t like backstage because I will only watch your back most of the time! What am I supposed to watch then?” your husband laughs while nodding in agreement.

“I still agree with you, sweetie” you are laughing after you responded to him too.

“Oh gosh. It’s almost half past seven now. Will we be able to watch their performance?” you start to worry.

“Are they going to be the first ones to perform tonight?” your husband asks you instead.

“I don’t think so. They didn’t tell me about it though, but I hope they won’t be the first one to perform, or we’ll miss it.”

Thankfully, 15 minutes before the performance started, you finally arrived at the venue. Your husband gets lucky when he spots an empty parking lot. He parks right away. After the car park, you walk with your husband together while holding hands to the venue.

“This is amazing. Nobody spotted you so far” you softly whisper to your husband, but he signals you to keep quiet with his left index finger.

“Still, we need to be careful. Some die-hard fans can still spot us no matter how new or different our clothes are. But I hope I don’t get spotted tonight” you agree with your husband and silently enter the venue. “Do you want to meet them before the show starts?” and you nod.

“I will stay outside the preparation room them. I don’t want them to be too excited to see me. Let them see me from the stage later.”

You go to the preparation room through the backstage door. Some security who didn’t recognise you is asking for your credentials. You calmly show the pass to them and tell them that you come with your husband. The security is tight; they even ask for your husband’s credentials. However, he didn’t fight.

“It’s okay. Too many eyes will focus on me if I show my face. You go to their preparation room. I’ll wait here, at backstage.”

The security escorts you to the preparation room. You enter the room when all eyes are on you.

“HEY!!!!” the EXO members are happy to see you finally arrived. One by one greet you.

“Guys, I’m sorry for being late. Gosh, the traffic….”

“Wait. Why don’t you ask Baekhyun’s manager to take you here after work? You do know that we have a personal manager other than the lead manager” Suho expresses his concern.

“Huh? So, you drive all the way here? With that heavy traffic?” Xiumin expresses his concern as well, while you only nod at his question.

“Aigoo…. You should just ask Baekhyun’s manager next time if you are going to our stage performance” Suho furrows his eyebrows, worrying about you like a big brother.

“So, did you get to park the car?” Chanyeol asks. You also nod at his question.

“That’s good” Chanyeol gives a thumbs up.

“Have you eaten?” Sehun asks you this time.

“Yeah….” but you could see right away from D.O., Kai to Chen, pass you the food in the wrapping package. “What is this?”

“Eat. I can even tell that you haven’t eaten, just from your expression” D.O. speaks up.

“Me too, I can tell” Kai seconds him.

“Eat up” Chen helps you tear off the food wrapping, hands you the food, then pats your head. You thank them and eat the food.

“Aigoo, slow down. You almost swallow the food. We still have more food here. Give her, that water bottle and another wrap” Xiumin instructs D.O. who is closer to the food box. D.O. follows him and passes it along to you.

“Stay here with the manager” Suho suddenly instructs you.

“Noooooo! I want to watch your performance!” you protest. “What can I see from here? Your back? I better go home and just watch the live then” you sulk.

“Eiiii Hyung. Don’t be like that. Let her watch from the front stage” Kai persuades Suho.

“Yeah, she’s right though. She came all the way here, let her watch at the front” Chanyeol seconds Kai.

“We can watch her from the stage though. Or asks our managers to spread out to look after her as we did during the CBX performance before going to the Halloween haunted house. Hyung, do you still remember that?” Chen asks Xiumin.

“Hahaha, who doesn’t remember that? Of course, I do” Xiumin respond.

“Alright, we need to get ready. I think the manager has left one or two front seats for you. Follow him, we’ll keep you updated” Suho instructs you.

“Okay. Good luck guys!” you cheer them before going out and meeting back with your husband.

The lead manager shows you the designated seat, which amazingly, the manager didn’t even spot your husband who is just behind you. You take a seat with your husband and whisper to him right away. “Is your manager for real? He didn’t spot you?”

“Either he really doesn’t notice me or he just ignores me, since we are in the open space” you understand what your husband is talking about. “That’s okay. At least we have a seat prepared for us.”

“You mean me” your husband laughs softly at your answer. “I call it 15 minutes to a good spot; we arrived 15 minutes before the performance started, and still get a good spot.”

𝐇𝐄  𝐖𝐀𝐒  𝐍𝐎𝐓  𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆,  and  her  own  spymaster  had  never  missed  a  chance  to  remind  alina  it  would  not  hurt  her  to  be  a  bit  nice.  while  that  perhaps  was  asking  a  bit  too  much  from  the  high  lady  of  summer  it  did  not  mean  she  could  not  be  amiable,  she  had  been  thus  far  to  most,  unless  they  incessantly  grated  on  her  nerves.  "perhaps,  but  you  are  a  high  ruler,  who  would  dare  say  anything  against  any  one  of  us?"  she  wonders  if  he  meant  of  the  other  courts,  or  of  the  royals,  the  latter  whom  which  alina  thought  little  of  overall.  she  was  polite  enough  to  the  mother  queen,  but  she's  certain  the  elder  woman  had  sensed  alina's  disinterest.  "i  would  like  to  believe  the  high  rulers  are  not  so  impulsive  to  start  petty  disputes  over  some  exchanged  words."  she  understood  his  caution,  and  alina  exercised  her  own  as  well,  in  some  cases  far  more  than  others,  it  seems.  when  the  high  lord  levels  her  with  a  look,  she  offers  him  a  faint  smile,  "it  pleases  to  see  you  worry  about  your  dear  friend.  come  now,  you  know  i  would  never  intentionally  jeopardize  myself."  there  was  a  reason  they  got  along  well,  both  cautious  and  distrustful  more  so  than  others.  alina  did  of  course  appreciate  his  concern,  even  after  years  having  of  daxton  and  then  suho  looking  after  her,  she  finds  she  cannot  grow  used  to  it.  a  soft  chuckle  is  hard  from  alina,  "gratitude,  dear  suho.  i  suppose  i  shall  have  to  make  do  with  watching  the  other  two  high  lords  be  hounded."  one  she  already  had  kept  an  eye  throughout  the  night,  why,  she  had  no  true  answer  or  did  not  wish  to  look  further  into  it.  "i  can  forgive  you,  only  because  i  know  how  taxing  it  can  be,  so  i  will  help  you  ward  them  off  tonight."  she  was  curious  still  somewhat  curious  too  see  if  someone  would  catch  her  friend's  eye.  "for  the  time  being,  our  courts  and  people  will  take  priority,  it  seems.  it  is  all  we  can  ask  for,  until  we've  dealt  with  our  circumstances."  she  felt  guilty  each  time  she  was  with  cedrian,  for  those  hours  allowing  her  worries  to  fall  wayside,  but  in  the  same  breath,  he  certainly  kept  her  sane  as  well.  uncertainly  lingered,  but  alina  would  be  hard  pressed  to  believe  they  would  not  come  out  of  it,  they  simply  had  to  matters  into  their  own  hands  now.  when  the  music  came  to  an  end,  her  footsteps  did  as  well,  "did  you  expect  anything  less?" his antics surely left amusement glinting in her gaze.

Suho nods in agreement along with a gentle shrug, as much as he could while he still managed to guide them about the floor with as much grace as he could master, as much grace as alina deserved. for he held her with too much respect to do less than that. "i suppose i am, but i do not feel i can afford to be anything but. not here at the very least." in his own territory he would simply walk away, not entertain it to begin with, but in gaea where they were all being held hostage by the mother knew what, with all the courts ready to jump at the first sign of disrespect. "it is best to be careful than to be apologetic now," he gives her a look, a knowing look, suho was aware she too distrusted many as he did, or at the very least was overly careful too. "well, i intent to stay as far away from their pretty globed hands for the rest of the night, shielded by you or others, but i am committed," he jests, "my apologies for taking your fun away, but at least you got to witness it." for now alina's precense would keep them at bay, then he would find another who would do the same, one of his siblings, one of his inner court members, and if all fails he would even mingle with the other courts. "that is a very honorable answer of yours, and one i can definitely respect and agree with. specially in this pass few days, it feels as i must hang on to that a bit harder. the uncertainty is never easy i am afraid." his steps slow down as the music does too, coming to a halt he gives her a dramatic bow. "you're a marvelous dancer, my lady."
