Thoughts on Fallout show...
It's good! I really liked the Moldaver twist, I liked that she was actually part of NCR. But girl just build your settlement on top of the old Shady Sands no one is stopping you LMAO. I soyjaked when I saw the NCR Veteran Ranger outfit you guys are SO COOLLLLLLLL even tho those people weren't the rangers.. sigh
The capitalism commentary... I mean I've played Disco Elysium. Hell even Fallout New Vegas. Lol. I'd say this is on The Menu tier of commentary. It's fine! I just find it to be regular! FNV offered interesting perspective on anarchy with Followers and come on dude, Hegelian dialectics waow.... Disco Elysium is fucking Disco Elysium. It certainly identified that monopoly in capitalism is bad as shown in Vault Tec, but I wish I could've seen an alternative ideology for a better world like FNV and DE did. Where's the hopeeee
His ass is NOT Robert House !! Unironically like as many have said this contradicted House in FNV. Many mentioned that he actually wanted to stop the bombs, hence why he wanted the platinum chip but he wouldn't cave in to Vault Tec, he wants his own little monopoly his ass is NOT collaborating !! Maybe he actually didn't want it after the meeting idk lol
I do NAWT like the ghoul sorry I am a certified ghoul fucker, as you've known I am a Harland enjoyer and Dean Domino liker but the whole feral ghoul inevitability is just so stupid and sucks because it drove his whole asshole-ish survivalist instinct to do dirty deeds to get the ghoul vials. It's stupid!!!!! We could've got a perspective of someone who has to live forever but nooooo ghoul vials n shit. Also he just sucks sorry lol most overrated Fallout character of all time RAUL SWEEPS!!!!!
I do wish we see the kinder side of Brotherhood, in all 3 games they're not all bad people if you finally became part of them. We love Veronica! But outside of her McNamara is known to be kind, also Vree is awesome, etc etc... but this BoS is not out of character either. They're not kind on defectors as we've seen with Veronica
I liked Maximus :-) wait he's actually Maximus right I didn't misremember but I swear Lucy called him Titus?? But anyway. He's cool! I didn't know Lucy and Maximus actually ended up together because I've only seen her paired with the ghoul. I mean you do you but I do not sense any chemistry between them because uh, they barely spent time together???? He sold her to the organ harvesting guy and then left. Like that's it. I get that people want their Discord x Fluttershy nachos but Lucy and Maximus are cute lol let them be
Oh my god the constant flashback scenes.... They're stealing Persona 5's nachos. USELESS?????????
I have mixed feelings on the whole Vault Tec stuff. Yeah commentary on amazon cool! But viewing it on the context of 1/2/NV... it's just too glaring to ignore. Fallout was all about post-apocalyptic settlement! It's why we remember Shady Sands, Junktown, The Hub, Vault City, New Reno, Broken Hills, Necropolis, Goodsprings, Primm, Novac, Freeside, arghhhh so much more... is Vault Tec gonna bomb literally every single one of them?????????? Perhaps it's because NCR is the biggest settlement but idk I'd say Vault City is doing great. Goodsprings was fine, it's small but people have homes and farms and happy there outside of the Powder Gangers problem. It just missed the core of Fallout and took the "war never changes" motto on face value. Society will rebuild itself! We're not just gonna stay in the empty desert wasteland, it's all gonna be rebuilt with new ideology and it's up to us to decide which is more content to our heart to stay and help...
And speaking of settlement.... man why are every settlement so Not Normal. People on 1/2/NV talks normally even if their homes are not in the best conditions. Every single non-Vault 33 people in this show acted like No Barks lol. The thing with Fallout is that people we've meet are normal people like us in the present, even the ghouls, it's just that they are trying to live in the post apocalyptic conditions. They don't become stereotypical western hillbillies lol
Anyway. God fucking dammit leave FNV alone. I just feel like this show doesn't have the vernacular that it thinks it possesses... It missed the whole appeal of the OG Fallout and thinks Fallout is all about post apocalyptic wacky destruction and madness n shit. Even if it has a commentary on pre-war capitalism it still missed what makes Fallout settlements so interesting. And since NV is all about those settlements... begging you to leave them alone. Do not fucking destroy them because you think the point of Fallout is that humanity is doomed. Make your own fucking settlements.
I promise I don't hate this show I was actually invested throughout of it. Really amazing props and set design. It's just a show that is really good in a vacuum, but when viewed in the context of OG Fallout it fell apart. I'd give it a 6-7/10

I keep seeing your recent drawing of vincent valentine and I just want to say he's SUCH a cool character! Idk what specifically to ask about him so feel free to ramble. Mad scientist necromancer who becomes a time traveling lich is such a great concept! I'm kind of curious what he's like as a necromancy professor. Considering his quest for immortality and being really freaked out by his future self he seems pretty afraid of death for someone who works so closely with it, so I can see him getting grossed out and berating students for not cleaning whatever they reanimate properly, or not really wanting to think about how the act of necromancy is always preceeded by something dying. But on the other hand with his attitude of being better than his peers I could also see him get into something other people might be squeamish about with excited scientific detachment because he’s not gonna lose sleep over some mortals, the only death that bothers him is his own. Or maybe he's a mix of both at the same time? Either way his story is super interesting and the lich version of him looks awesome!
AHHHH THANK YOU!! He's more like the second one!
His fear of death is specifically the fear of HIS OWN death, knowing that even if he could be reanimated in the future he wouldn't be the same person with the same consciousness (he'd be some sort of zombie or ghoul or other undead creature, which could be conscious but would have an entirely new consciousness). He performs lots of gross experiments with scientific detachment (he made another one of my characters who is basically just a Frankenstein character who communicates using sign language bc his vocal cords aren't connected since he was just an experiment gone right) and even some of his necromancy colleagues are grossed out by how extreme/morally dubious they can get. He kind of prides himself on just how intense he can get because he feels like it elevates him over his peers, but in reality he's just kind of a freak and his peers rightfully keep their distance.
I think the closest character to his personality would be Herbert west from re-animator, just a very over the top dude who lacks empathy and values his studies above everything else. Though, unlike Herbert, his drive mostly comes from deep rooted insecurities and his fear of genuine human connection rather than just a relentless desire to re-animate the dead.

Halloween Book Recommendations!👻☠️🎃....Part 1
Hello, my loves!! If you saw my last post, then you know what’s coming. If not, let me tell you....I wanted to do a Halloween Book Recommendation post (long one) in the beginning of the month since it’s pre Halloween month-as I call it for right now. That didn’t happen for the last couple days because I was busy. But here we are! Now...be amazed of allllll the choices you got and even if some may not be your genre or type, that is okay!
📖 The Diviners Trilogy by Libba Bray
This series is one of my favorites...sadly I haven’t finished reading the 2nd book (Lair of Dreams), but with my Halloween binge I am planning on rereading and finishing it. This is 1920’s New York...nuff said. But anyways, we have different persoectives told in 3rd person (I have no idea which 3rd, cuz those I can’t remember for the life of me), who has abilities to see ghosts/future, etc... aka Diviners. Basically physics in other words. In the first one, they battle out this evil monster dude (which is creepy...the monster dude). Lair of Dreams deals with this mystery illness...I can’t say much for this one since I haven’t finished it yet. Before the Devil Breaks You is the 3rd and final book and I don’t know what that one is about.
The audiobooks-y’all do them-I have no comments. I read The Diviners physically (I didn’t really get into audiobooks till recently this year). I did try and listen to Lair of Dreams, but it wasn’t for me. i may give it another try, so no promises on this though. I have heard that they are really good, so hopefully they are as well for you.
📖Stalking Jack the Ripper Series by Kerri Maniscalco
This series is one of my favorites! I’m gonna say that for so many here, but I love this one to pieces to where I preordered the 3rd book (Escaping From Houdini) and also the 4th and final one (Capturing the Devil. CTD is being shipped on the 10th this month (6 DAYS) from my Barnes and Noble location, so I don’t know if it will arrive that day or not.
Anyways, this series follows Audrey Rose Wadsworth in the late 1800s dealing with the Ripper murders. The second involves Dracula, third is Houdini, and the fourth is H.H Holmes. Yes, America’s first serial killer! Sorry, I’m very excited about that. Being a girl in the 1800s/1900s, you’re not really have much to live for. Audrey rather do things that guys can do (forensics in this case), then being at tea parties. I don’t blame you, girl! Then, Thomas Cressworth comes in as well and they both solves these crimes together with the help of Audrey’s uncle (a mortician). If that doesn’t get your interest, then Idk what will.
📖Confessions Series by James Patterson
This series is more mystery than horror. I personally love James Patterson and he has always been one of my favorite authors. This one follows the Angel siblings after their parents’ mystery death (that mystery is the center of the first one (Confessions of a Murder Suspect). These siblings aren’t necessarily ordinary in some since. I don’t want to give away anything, but meds has the reason for that.
Tandy Angel (main character here) solves these murders/crimes throughout the books. The second one contains school murders (not shootings, thankfully) (Confessions: The Private School Murders). The third (Confessions: The Paris Mysteries) takes place in Paris, France. I have not read this one nor the 4th one (Confessions: The Murder of an Angel) so I don’t have any opinions on these ones. It is really good and if you’re a sucker for mysteries and James Patterson boos, then here you go!
📖The Women’s Murder Club by James Patterson
Another Patterson series...I’m a sucker for them. At first, I had called this the Number series because I didn’t know what the series was called and the only thing I knew was that they have numbers in the title.
Meet Lindsay Boxer (main character), homicide inspector for San Fran; Claire Washburn, medical examiner; Jill Bernhardt, assistant D.A.; and Cindy Thomas, San Fran Chronicle writer. 4 amazing chicks who kick butt, form the Women’s Murder Club to solve these murders. Freakin girl power! The chapters are quite short, sometimes longer, but usually short, which if you’re good with that, then cool, if not, that’s okay! I’m pretty sure the latest book of the series published is the 17th one...maybe 18th....one of those two. These are the ones I currently have.
📖The Merciless Series by Danielle Vega
If you love horror, possesion, all that stuff, you’ll love this series. I first discovered it on Facebook when the book trailer popped up. It was a interesting trailer and caught my tention. Couple years later, my senior year of high school, the book fair came (appears twice a year, this was the first appearance) and I had to buy it. It was $8 bucks, originally $10.99. If you are very religious, then maybe not this series. Lots of said people said its Mean Girls and the Craft mixed together.
The first two books follows Sophoa Flores as the main character. Sophia, being the new girl, befriends the 3 populare chicks (Plastics), who they want her to befriend this outsider (Brooklynn). Mean Girls basically but little bit reveresed. Then things happen. Spoilers, so I can’t really clarify it. Second is and it’s what the 2nd is also called....The Excorsim of Sophia Flores...DUN DUN DUNNNN. The third (Origins of Evil) is where Brooklynns story begins, so we know how Brooklynn became and what not. The 4th and final (The Last Rites) features a little bit of Sophia, but this main character is Berkley Hubbard, fresh out of rehab. Honestly, these books do scare me, but not like how when I watched the Conjuring the first time. Perfect read for Halloween season!
📖Mrs. Peregrine Series by Ransom Riggs
Now, I have not been able to finish the dang first book, so Idk. From what I have read and remeber, it is really good! It’s kind of horro...I don’t particularly think it is, but others do. This has mixed media, mainly pictures, but fascinating ones! The four books follows Jacob Portman and his friends of peculiar aka they have abilities and their adventures they have. If you’ve seen the movis, then you understand what I mean. Ransom’s writing is one of my favorites and having pictures/media in them makes me happy. I am a visual person, so the pictures help me a lot.
Anways, the first book is where Jacob is in the peculiar world where the peculiars live in this never ending time loop of the same day, but they rewind time before bombs happen aka Poland in WW 2. I’ve heard so many amazing things of this series! Jesse the Reader (booktuber) LOVES this series and he will recommend it to the end of time.
📖Visions Trilogy by Lisa McMann
These three books involve visions. If you have seen Medium (with Patricia...I cant remember her last name), then you will love Visions. They don’t involve any ghosts, so that’s a difference from Medium.
Here we have (Crash) Jules Demarco, who is seeing visions of this explosion everywhere. She realizes this explosion will happen very soon and she has to stop it before it happens. Not much, I know, but the next one (Bang) (sadly deals with a school shooting), her crush gets the visions this time. The third one (Gasp) has this random character who the two save last book ends up getting the visions then. This vision is a boat accident...a ferry to be precise, but nothing like Titanic...at least I don’t think so. This was a good series and really liked them. Easy to read in 1 day...unless y’all are busy and or a slow reader like me.
📖The Asylum Series by Madeleine Roux
Horror, ghosts, random past lives stuff! I only have the first two books (Asylum and Sanctum), but I think there is a third and one or two novellas. I love these guys! You get some pictures and letters in the books, so cool!
Here is Dan Crawford, who is spending the summe at the New Hampshire College Prep program. Abby Valdez and Jordan (no last name was given) are his new found friends at the program. The catch of all this, the newly built dorms is where the Brookline Asylum used to be. The three friends uncover secrets of their pasts and families and such. It’s such a good series.
📖The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer
The infamous Twilight books. Y’all may have expected this or may not have. I do not have an opinion on this series just yet. I recently read Twilight for the first time and really liked it. That said, hopefully I will get to the other books and see where my opinions lie.
Everyone knows what this series is about, but if not, come to me. Isabella (Bella) Swan moves from the heat of Arizona (I feel you Bella) to the rainy world of Forks, Washington. There, she meets the Cullen siblings...mainly Edward...who happens to be vampires. Bella and Edward get closer and start dating and what not. Ah yes, the infamous woods scene where Edward is like “Say it!” to Bella, it actually happens in the car so casually. This series contains a love triangle of a human, vampire, and a werewolf.
📖The Chronicles of Vladmir Tod by Heather Brewer...okay it’s formerly Heather, but it is now Zac Brewer
I love this series...even though I only read the first two books and a little bit of the 3rd one. If you love vampires...well half human half vampire then yessss! Half human, Half Titan....Half human, half ghoul....if y’all watch anime, then you probably get the two references. Okay...onto the synopsis!
Vladmir Tod is the equivalent of...dang it what is the word....ahhh disgrace cuz he is half human and half vampire. In the vampire world, humans and vamps dont go together. He is raised by his Aunt Nelly, who of course knows he is half vampire. His best friend, Henry also knows. Throughout 8th Grade to 12th Grade, he’s gotta deal with bullies and vampire slayers. What a hard knock life for this dude.

Spring 2018 Anime Final Review
So, uh, this is six months late. I’ve had half of this post in my drafts forever. To make it short, as I’ve mentioned previously, mom lost her job, which has not only been a heavy hit to my sense of stability for the last six months, but also means my time to watch anime was seriously reduced and even now a slight change of plans fucks up my whole schedule and sets me back for a full week. Anyway, nobody cares about any of these shows anymore so let’s get straight to it? I’m gonna ommit the two-cours that continued into the Summer - hopefully I’ll be able to make that post soonish? idk. Worst to best, same as usual
The crappy gender politics pit of shame
Darling in the FRANXX: I think everyone has ripped this show to threads at this point and there isn’t much I could add to that. It is quite funny to me to see how many people flipped out when the show went completely bananas in its last few episodes. Feels a bit like KADO, I’ve been telling y’all this was a ton of empty crap since episode 2, it just took the writing to completely self-destruct for everyone else to notice. A part of me feels tempted to do a long post breaking down just how badly the show collapsed in its final shebang, specifically how every single twist and turn completely nulled any remote kind of message or central thesis the show may have had, but at the same time it doesn’t seem worth the time. In the end, I may have given What is Internal Consistency, The anime way too much credit. It’s not hateful antigay propaganda, it’s just dumb as shits, with a writer and creators who didn’t think for half a second of the implications of what they were doing, and who were so incompetent they couldn’t even conserve the minimal plot and character coherency within a single episode, let alone 24. In other words, Darling isn’t saying “gays shouldn’t exist” but “I have no idea of anything regarding gay people”. What makes it egregious is that the show spent so much time acting like it was “meaningful” and “important” and yet it ended saying absolutely fucking nothing. Except mayb “have babies”. Down to oblivion you go, along with the likes of KADO, to the void of shows that couldn’t even be offensively bad and no one will remember a year from now. Bonus garbage points for the half-assed “bury your gays”.
Nil of Libra Admirari or whatever this show was called: I’m not trying to diss on the show, I just genuinely never remember the title because I have the JP and EN all mixed up. Not that it matters much, as far as I could tell, the show could call Shalabalabatuna and it would have the same significance in regard to the content. But the title isn’t important. In fact, it may be a bit unfair to have this show in this section. For the most part, Main Girl is very self-determined and has an active role in the story.... but then the last two episodes heavily featured a lot of rape threats or rape themes and forced pregnancy (real and threat) and I don’t really understand why they’d go there all of a sudden. One of them was treated relatively well, even empowering the victim in the process, but when the ikemen bad guy was rambling endlessly about how he wanted to impregnate the protagonist it really turned me off :/ I’m also not a fan of “main boy was her secret fiancé all along”, but at least they also handled that somewhat decently. It’s a very disposable series, but since I watched all of Amnesia, I think I owe every otoge adaptation at least the smallest chance to clear that very low bar, and Libra of Nil does it, more competently than most other stuff in the same genre.
Hisone to Masotan: I really, really wanted to love this show. Even now, as I put it in the pit of shame category, I’m pained. There was a good show in this, and a lot of it made it to the screen: an adorable, charming little story about a woman finding her place in the world, making new friends, finding her calling and bonding with an adorable dragon. Unfortunately, it got buried down under this opressing, horrendous gender politics that tried to do something with bringing attention to sexism in the military only to cancel it out making the one dude that embodied that sexism getting rewarded with the affections of a girl he explicitly tried to crush. It also called back on the virgin or whore fallacy and even managed to shove in a “bury your gays” trope. Even though Hisone challenges the ritual bullshit, it’s too little, too late, and she does end up carrying it out anyway, so the defiance to the status quo is of little importance in terms of problematizing the ritual itself. Sorry BONES, it wasn’t meant to be this time.
The ni fu ni fa section
Ni fu ni fa is a Mexican colloquialism for “It was okay but it didn’t change my life.”
Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu HAPPY KISS: This soft reboot of the franchise had some really great episodes and did an actually good job of developping its characters. For the most part, it achieved what its predecessor did in terms of satirical comedy and I enjoyed it quite a bit. However, what bunked it down so low in the list was the final episode. At some point, the writers forgot they were doing a parody and made the show somewhat self-serious, way closer in tone to the magical girl anime it was supposed to be making fun of, rather than the satire its predecessor was. Whereas S1 ended with the whole Magical boy stuff being revealed as a crappy space reality TV show, this one ended with a real cheesy conflict about happiness and family and blablabla. Which is not bad by itself if this were a Precure show, but that kind of self-serious plot development just didn’t work for this series. I still enjoyed it, and the fanservice episode is one of the best of the whole franchise, but I’m a bit sad the finale missed the mark so badly.
Hinamatsuri: Hinamatsuri was very hit-or-miss for me. There were some truly brilliant episodes, a lot of funny vignettes and heart-warming stories, and then there was some stuff that made me uncomfortable -like every single Hitomi story- or felt unnecessary and dry. It also threw me off that the superpower dynamic completely disappeared in the second half of the show, especially in Anzu’s part of the story. It was okay but I feel like I needed something that felt like a closing, and choosing to end it with Mao who featured very minimally in the show overall didn’t cut it. It’s a fun show, I’d reccommend people check it out, but it felt a bit too disjointed for me
Persona 5: The Animation: This is a hard show to place because I love the looks of it and I think the concept is interesting and pretty cool, but there is something that’s keeping me from connecting emotionally to the story. The part where changing the villains’ heart makes them repent from their sins and become “good” feels very artificial and very tasteless when you’re dealing with rapists and abusers. I ended dropping it at episode 16, I just couldn’t find the motivation to catch up with the 6 episodes i’d fallen behind on because my schedule is a tragedy
Tokyo Ghoul: Re: I guess it’s fair to say I’ve kind of outgrown Tokyo Ghoul. There’s something messy and confusing about how this season panned out, and there comes a point in which misery porn just doesn’t cut it anymore. I still watch because Ishida has a way to make every single goddamn character extremely sympathetic, which makes for an emotionally engaging viewing even when you’re not sure of what the plot is supposed to be or who you should be rooting for. I tried picking up the new season that just started airing and immediately found I had no idea of what was going on, who was on who’s side and in general, who the fuck were 90% of the characters, so I dropped it.
Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu: I’ve mentioned it before, this second season had the opposite problem than the first one: the pace was too slow. It took more than half of it to get to Escanor, and then the season ends at a kind of random spot. I really thought we’d get further along on the story, since Gowther’s backstory was hinted at in the openings, but no such thing happened. They did manage to give us a variety of cool moments and fights, and I love Ban so his scenes with Zhivago and Elaine made me quite happy, though I really wish the romance between Elizabeth and Meliodas wasn’t su dubious and cringy. In light of some revelations that take place further along the manga, going out of their way to emphasize that Meliodas was a sort of mentor figure for Elizabeth when she was a toddler seems unncessary and just very squeamish. I do hope we get a third season though, and an OVA of the Vampires of whatever side story would be great too.
Rokuhoudou Yotsuiro Biyori: I was pleasantly surprised by this show, and it’s closer to being one of my top of the season than it is to “meh”. It had some weaker, cheesier segments, but it also managed great whacky moments and a genuine soothing atmosphere. What surprised me most is that the vanilla looking cast of moderately handsome dudes managed to develop into interesting, funny individuals with a dynamic that made every episode enjoyable. A solid reccommendation for anyone wanting to see delicious looking food and moderately handsome dudes being ridiculous. Also, the cat episode is the best episode of anime ever produced.
The I’m probably the only person alive who enjoys these shows
Mahou Shoujo Ore: This is a difficult show to place because it wasn’t quite as great as I wanted it to be and its parodic nature took me by surprise, but somehow I was still seriously entertained more often than not. The twists in the final quarter and the absolutely bonkers finale was a total riot, but I definitely advise caution before going in, given that some of the jokes may seem insensitive or in poor taste in regards to gender presentation, sexuality and there are even some mild harrassment jokes that certainly made me roll my eyes.
Yowamushi Pedal: Glory Line: I don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but I think through half of the show’s 25 episode run, I was convinced the title was actually Glory Road. It’s kind of anticlimactic that it’s called Glory Line if they don’t actually reach the final Goal btw. Anyway, I feel I say this a lot, but really, if you didn’t like the previous Yowapeda seasons, there’s nothing here for you, and if you did, you’re probably not gonna hop off this late in the game. This season does suffer from the same dragging than its predecessors, with the added issue of being quite pessimistic for no reason in about half the episodes, and a diminished presence for Onoda. I really wish they hadn’t dragged the Day 2 goal so long, I really hoped we’d see the end of the race, but no such luck I guess. Still love most of it and hope we get one more season or a movie to complete the story.
The favorites of the season
Golden Kamuy: In spite of its pacing issues, terrible animation and general clunkiness, I can’t help but love this show. When season 1 ended my feelings for it had mellowed quite a bit, but as soon as I picked up season 2 this Fall I just fell in love all over again. It’s fun, unique, over-the-top in some ways, incredibly grounded in others, and the dynamics between the characters are incredibly charming.
Hozuki no Reitetsu: It’s hard to talk about this one because it feels repetitive, given how tonally the show remains just the same across its three seasons. It could’ve very well been a one-season, 36 episode show, for how little it changes in spite of the time that transpired between the first season and the second. But in short, the comedy continues to be as spot on as always, the Zashikiwarashi twins are the best addition to the cast. It’s definitely a show I could watch endless episodes off, and the rare case of an episodic series with no overarching plot that I can enjoy wholeheartedly.
Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card arc: Over the course of the series, I’ve expressed a few concerns and misgivings about how the story of this 20th anniversary sequel was playing out. The final episode was particularly troublesome in that it left the story unfinished in spite of deviating from the manga. In spite of this, more than anything I’m very happy that this continuation still retains what made the original so special, that they captured the magic behind Sakura’s “everything will be alright” spell and gave us the chance to spend more time with these beloved characters and see their stories continue. The slow but sweet development of Sakura and Syaoran’s puppy love is a definite highlight. Needs more Touya/Yukito and Yue in general.
Piano no Mori: This show got heavily overlooked because it was kidnapped by Netflix (pls stop immediately), and then when it was finally unceremoniously dumped a month or two ago, it came under fire for the wonky CGI during the piano scenes -and it is indeed very wonky-. But beyond that, I found the story very engaging, especially because Kai is such a fascinating protagonist, his intense rivalry-friendship with Megane-kun (sorry, it’s been six months, i can’t remember names) is exactly the type I can’t help but root for. Kai’s participation in the final episode gave me goosebumps. I’m very happy we’re getting a continuation, can’t wait to see how the Chopin competition develops.
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii: Sweet, funny and absolutely delightful from start to finish, Wotakoi was easily one of the highlights of the season. Although there were some aspects about Cosplayer-senpai and Yuri Otaku-senpai’s (I’m really trying to remember the names, I’m sorry!! ;---;) that didn’t work for me -namely the izakaya segment- Narumi and Hirotaka more than made up for it with their clumsy yet adorable romance. I spent the entirety of the amusement park episode screeching. I really hope we get a continuation -and get a chance to see more of Hirotaka’s brother and his gamer friend too- and that in general we can get more anime about adult stories
Megalobox: Who would’ve thought that a show that wasn’t even in my radar before the season started would’ve end as one of my favorites, possibly of the year? Even as someone who’s only marginally acquainted with Ashita no Joe and has no interst in the sport of boxing, I was completely enthralled by the style and passion of this production. As I said a bit above, intense rivalries are very appealing to me, and the build up in the tension between Joe and Yuri was almost palpable, their mutual respect gave me chills. Definitely the surprise of the season, made even better by its optimistic happy ending to contrast with its predecessor’s tragedy. Megalobox is a unique anniversary project that is closer to an homage and it works perfectly. Definitely check it out.
That’s it for the Spring season! I hope i can do the summer season this weekend and maaaybe even my watchlist for the Fall season. Fingers crossed i won’t get swallowed up in other stuff :’D

Totally random but I jjust remembered this and I need to type this down as fast as possible
I had like a really sick dream last night for like the first time in years (bevause I don't dream, that doesn't happen to me, what the FUCK)
And basically my mind created this super cool story in which there was something called a shadowverse but no one really knew about it since it just seems like something the citizens of this fictional mental universe made up when they were all kids, like an imaginary friend or some shit
And this shadowverse was basically this alternate world in which time was a lot slower (so say 5 hours of this world is like 8 hours of our "real" world. Idk why these were the proportions, but that's what my mind came up with) and a lot of the things were the same, but there were a ton of mythical vreatures and shit as well as people who were just like you and I, but just happened to be born in this mythical world. Oh and by mythical creatures, there's a mix of your generic ones (vampires, ghouls, ghosts, lycantropes, etc) and random ass ones like this GIANT ASS TURTLE that chased my character (myself? Idk, I'll just call her uhhh viewer {since I was seeing it through her eyes})
And Viewer, like everyone else in this world, thought that this was just something she came up with as a kid, and she had forgotten about it as she got older. That is, until Viewer was babysitting her brother for her parents while her parents and younger sister were going to watch like a baseball game I think?? And Viewer, being a performing arts and medical nerd, was like "nah, I'll watch some Grey's Anatomy with the little shit at home" and stayed back and shit.
Well her brother, who's around 5 or 6, accidentally stumbles into this little part of the wall that's shrouded in shadows and stuff. He decides to outline a doorway, and accidentally steps into the shadowverse. Viewer sees this and is like "yo what the FUCK" and CHASES AFTER HIM because HEY that's her BROTHER
And she stumbles into the same area as her little bro and picks him up like a child and is like "uh hey bro what the FUCK" and he's like "oh, yeah, this is where I go when I'm bored" anf Viewer is basically like "yeah, don't do this again mate, you don't know what could happen here, let's go" and they walk out and he promises not to go back. And then the magical doorway seals back up behind them when they walk back into their own world
Everything's fine and dandy for a few days, until Viewer decides fuck it, I'm gonna see if that was real or if I just fell asleep
So she mimics what her brother had done to a shadowy part of her apartment, and lo and behold, that shit was real
So she's like "holy shit holy shit holy SHIT" and RUNS IN after grabbing her phone and a little drawstring baggie and stuff and wanders into this badass looking place
And she wanders around this world that looks so much like her own to the point where there's a starbucks on the same corner (although for some reason it's called lunebucks or some shit like that and the little mermaid was a fae instead) and she's just like dude. Dude. This is so COOL. And then, she stumbles across these two classmates of hers from her school, but they're both not actually humans and they're both from this world?? They just prefer the other one because they have less shit to worry about in the "lightverse" as they call it
Oh and btw one's like this really really cute girl with like this cute almost bob hairstyle with two pieces braided back on each side and stuff and I think she was an elf or smth? An elf or a nymph or something
And the other one was like this actually kinda hot guy (and keep in mind, I as the writer am lesbian, so this dude would probably be really hot to a straight gal, a gay dude, or a nb pal who likes dudes) and I know for a fact that this dude was a vampire because I remember being "OF FUCKING COURSE HE IS" to myself
And apparently they were like "Oh, I didn't know you're from here mate, just thought you were human" and viewer is like "wait what the fUCK I AM HUMAN WHAT" and she runs to the restroom and she sees that her skin went from a tan to like,,, a very pale blue?? And she has like finlike ears and gills on her neck and stuff and she looks down to see fins on like the back or side of her legs and she runs back out to them and is like "haha no way I know for a FACT t h at I'm supposed to be human" and they're like "clearly, your parents didn't tell ya something, because humans do exist in this world and anyone who comes in here as a human stays as one, mate." And Viewer is like fuckfuckfuckfuckfu
And that's where the dream ended. I don't really write stuff, but I'm tempted to flesh this out and make this an actual story. Would anyone want to read it if I were to try to write it?

In the Fallout world, what are considered Native Americans? Is that what the Tribals are they talk about? If so, does that mean the three families that run the casinos on the strip Native Americans?
Short answer: No. They’re fictional.
but you just pointed out the #1 issue with the Fallout Universe, and in turn the biggest issue with the scifi/fantasy genre and it’s most offending trope in one single question. Something I don’t see a lot of people talking about but I’m guessing it’s because they either don’t think about it because they don’t quite get it or they feel uncomfortable talking about it.Again I don’t feel like it’s my place to say what’s racist/what isn’t in most circumstances because I’m just some White Dude, but I feel like I’ve had a similar discussion with people when it comes to scifi utopias/dystopias where sexuality/gender is treated “equal” so in turn, doesn’t matter which... sounds good, but you’re also erasing the identities if you have everyone not care and never talk about being LGB and/or T and how their lives revolve around that. Obviously you don’t want to stereotype them by making their sole personality trait being a minority but you also can’t just, have it not effect them because it will. theres no way for it to not! whether it’s positive or negative effects depends on the writer and whether it’s offensive depends on how they frame it. How they frame it depends on who they think about when they’re writing it. A good example is how I’ve meet cis people who try and write trans characters and it’s really fucking obvious they were writing it from a cis perspective for the cis perspective, because it was framed for the negative experience to be empathized by cis people. Like gender dysphoria, there’s a difference between writing it as “I feel uncomfortable in this body and I always feel out of place” or “I hate my body and i want to be cis (aka normal)!!1!” Obviously yes, real trans people do have both experiences, so yeah you can write it like the second way, but as a fictional writer/artist/creator I think people always need to be aware that what they’re making is not real and at any instance they can change anything, ever. And the point of fiction is for people to think in a different perspective, for the audience to experience things they never would, something that is unreal...hence fiction. So if you make a trans character that hates themselves just because theyre trans and not hate the systematic oppression and pressure they feel for not being cis, you better have a bomb ass character arc where they learn to accept and love themselves for being trans and have a happy ending, because otherwise you’re just making a pity party for cis people to gawk at and think “oh boy im sure glad that aint me!”
how this ties in is how the tribes is kinda a long reach, but basically a huge chunk of canon fallout lore is written by white americans for white americans. The basis of the nuclear holocaust “restarting” the world back to 0 is interesting in a sense, especially if it’s at the hands of the American gov, and where you can imagine a world where people are trying to piece together their past can really be a awesome thing to explore and why I really love the lore/series. But so far every single tribe has been fictional and there’s barely any talk about anything that isn’t fictional. I headcanon Arcade as Ashkenazi Jewish! Yet there’s no talk about WWII, there are no Jewish characters in the entire series (that i know of), so no one knows how not only Jewish diaspora, but also post nuclear war diaspora would effect someone in this fictional universe, and how those two intertwine! You really don’t get any talk about anything about prewar history that isn’t like... white american. like with Raul, he’s from Hidalgo but he doesn’t mention anything about it outside of the fact that he’s just from there. How has being Mexican effect him both prewar and postwar? Has he had to deal with negative parts like any racism, and how does that intertwine with him being a ghoul? Were there positive parts, like meeting other people who have roots tied to being Latinx and bonding? What about Cait in fo4, she’s Irish, but outside of just saying she is and having the accent, she doesn’t have any cultural ties that they bring in to her story you know? Like... what’s the point of character’s in your series that aren’t white and/or aren’t american, if you’re not bringing in how it matters. Same with LGB and/or T characters, why write them into a series if you don’t make it matter (aka player sexuality).
Obviously based on what I said with the example about a cis person writing a trans person, the only way to write these kind of arcs and issues is to either have a Mexican writer, or have have a Mexican editor/reference. Gabriel is mixed Mexican and Cahuilla, and if I were to ever do anything ever even slightly professional outside of dumb comics and drawings, like fanfiction or a companion mod, I would get references who are real people, not just books. I made him sure, but he’s not for me project into. I made him because I thought it would be cool to play a game where the protagonist isn’t white so outside of that, I really don’t have a place writing him without help. With the Fallout Universe they kinda did this thing where they have more lore about fictional ethnic that kind of... replace real ones? Sort of? Which like, fictional ethnicity and race have a place, but it’s not replacing real ones, you know? Like the Dead Horses have a creole language mixed with Navajo/Diné and German. which is pretty cool, since it has happened so would likely happen ,like with Creole French, so it’s interesting to explore that possibility, but with how it’s framed... having no characters with direct connections to being Navajo/Diné, makes it feel like its erasure in favor for fiction. Hell they aren’t even mentioned in canon, all you really get is Joshua saying “idk their language is probably from the Res".
And then you finally come to where the question kind of points it out: do all the real, actual Indigenous ethnic groups who have to deal with not only non-fictional racism, but also this fictional pseudo-racism where they’re lumped into being “savage tribals who get rehabilitated” all over again, this time just fictionally?? How many of the 87 tribes caesar conquered, were indigenous? same with the NCR? What about before the nuclear war, how were they treated in 2077 if the government was even more obsessed with taking resources, and even more brutal? Basically Fallout Lore is whitewashed and americanized in the sense that the whole series, including bethesdas, prioritize fictional racism and fictional xenophobia over including actual arcs and stories that are written by people who aren’t white american and have to do with issues that aren’t about white americans. Again, it’s a bigger issue that’s not just fnv, and not even just fallout, and wont go away until white cis het dudes stop making the stories.
#i wish i could say i have resources from people who point this out better but i havent really seen people point it out#sadly#and i dont really expect anyone whos indigenous to go out of theyre way to criticize it anyway because i know how exhausting it is to have#Anonymous

horror/fear survey
50 questions stolen from @my-world-is-ruled-by-fiction
1) Favorite horror movie? I try to avoid watching horror movies even tho I am into creepy stuff. I would say it is “Gothika” since I watched that one most often.
2) Scariest place to be outside at night where you live? Park areas without any lanterns.
3) Any animal fears? Just the regular icky feeling around spiders and wasps. but i try to catch them and release them instead of crying.
4) When you were younger what were you afraid of? getting lost/ getting left behind (because hooray that happened a few times with kindergarden/school)
5) When you were younger how did you cope with your fears? crying.
6) Is a basement or attic scarier to you? Attic. We don’t have one but I am scared of heights so “escaping” down the stairs again would be extra stressful.
7) Ever have recurring nightmares? Yes, about two colours mixing in a very gross and weird way. something about this hue (i think its a yellowish?) it’s really really spooky to me I have no idea why. It’s super abstract but I had it since i was a kid.
8) Favorite old horror film? Alien. (because it has my babies in it)
9) Are you comfortable being at home alone? Pretty much so.
10) Has the fear of something ever kept you up all night? Yes. Fear of failing and the usual existential dread.
11) When you imagined monsters when you were younger what did they look like? I can’t remember.
12) Do you sleep with one foot out of the covers or both under? I am most of the time curled up into a ball under the covers so no leggies sticking out here.
13) What is your natural response upon hearing a loud crash in your house? I like to blame it on my cat, that has passed away in 2015 and ignore it.
14) Have you ever played any horror games? Amnesia. I tried to avoid any monster encounter by spending awfully long time at stacking up chairs, since the physics in this game are fun.
15) Top 5 scariest noises to hear when you’re alone? scratching at the wall from the apartment next to me at 3 am?, random wood/furniture cracking, my guitar humming, weird heater noises?, weird noises from people outside?
16) Pick a horror movie and explain how you would survive. Don’t go upstairs in a house, Don’t go camping in a god-forsaken place, Go with a group of friends you trust and not Sharon you have some stupid beef with because she slept with your ex, If it’s a person who is causing the horror gang up on that bitch with your friend and beat the shit out of murder-man.
Also don’t wear high heels.
17) Do you have pre-planned hiding places in your house for scary situations? No. I have pre-planned go to the kitchen and get a big ol’ knife places.

Silence of the Lambs??
22) Do you prefer gore or thrillers? Depends. Gore to laugh my ass off because it is so over the top most of the time?? (zombie splatter silliness). Thrillers are usually more complex and interesting.
23) What did your parents tell you about monsters when you were young? I think they made up stories about something else protecting me from them???
24) Are you a fan of jump scares? No, I hate them. jump scares are a cheap tactic to make weak horror films scarier.
25) What is your go to for horror entertainment? Nothing really.
26) Do you believe aliens or other life forms exist? Yes. I think it would be sad if we were alone in the universe.
