In storm, Eurylochus was probably already so done with Ody’s shenanigans. How would you respond if your bestie goes “we’re gonna shoot for the sky” and then they hit absolute rock bottom after the next saga.
In luck runs out when he starts on his “I can’t have you planting seeds of doubt” he’s literally just telling him to shut up. Like “shh babygirl, I got this.”
In keep your friends close I thought the winions were like people made of cloud that Aeolus made to be her background singers or somethin.
In ruthlessness, Poseidon’s little “but noo” sounds like he wanted him to kill his son. And then the cyclops’s is just staring up at his father like
Tumblr media
but more sad, like “papa? Whatever do you mean?”
Puppeteer is understandable… “A woman.”
“what?”
“she had us in just two words…”
She’d have me in just two words if I hadn’t seen a woman in a while. No hesitation. I wouldn’t even care if I was turned into a pig, then I’d get carried around sometimes. I call that a win.
Wouldn’t you like us literally just Hermes giving Ody drugs(in style). Nothing more.
In done for…I MAY have thought Hermes was…well… a dog. I thought he was a guard dog that Ody bribed into letting him get the moly with or giving him the moly with treats. I hadn’t listened to Wouldn’t you like before. I listened to this in a very strange order.
There are other ways I thought “Oh, well, who's to say, with all the mistakes I've made” was like “trosens used to say, with all the mistakes I’ve made” because i can’t hear anything clearly. I heard it as like true-zens.
That’s kinda it. Should I do the underworld and thunder saga? I might remake this later btw
no cuz in luck runs out he was basically like 'listen i get you have opinions and thoughts that as ur leader i should listen to instead of dismissing but i'm the alpha, i'm the leader, i'm the one in charge'
he's so fucking condescending that shit. i'm glad the crew unionised, he was not good to them
i see the 'but nooo' as more poseidon making fun of ody for not choosing the easy way out. but yea i get how it seems that way. that picture omg it's the cutest fucking thing
also

Ok so here's a horrifying tale of when I discovered the existence of the movie The Crow 30 years too fucking late this Friday, and somehow never even knew a remake came out for it on the exact. same. day. Bear with me.
Ok so I was on spotify listening to this song (song in question was L.I.S.Å by Taythedxn, please dont look at me) that for some reason had footage of this random ass guy in clown makeup playing in the Now Playing/More Info preview. And I was like - huh! That guy kinda reminds me of my BG3 Tav!!! Nice!!! Naturally I'm pretty interested to find out what the hell is going on with that. So, thinking it's just the music video for that song, I look it up. To my surprise, that was not the music video at all!
At this point I'm massively curious. I am sitting there absolutely dumbfounded and stubborn as shit; I had to find this gorgeous clown man, even if it was 1 am at the time. I was on a MISSION! Finally I managed to muster enough braincells up to reverse image search the guy, and lo and behold, The Crow (1994) pops up. Bingo! There's the gorgeous clown guy!
At first I'm just showing pictures of the main character to my partner like Look!!! Look!!! He looks like my Tav in clown makeup!!!! Woah!!! And then I mention the movie to him, and well- (gonna cut the post in half for you, don't worry 'just browsing' crowd)
Tumblr media
My partner being the resident Nine Inch Nails listener pointed this out to me. SO IT HAD THE MARK OF NINE INCH NAILS? I was stoked - Trent Reznor being involved in any soundtrack has always been a great indicator in my eyes. Because of that, I just had to check out the rest of the soundtrack, and I was in AWE.
Tumblr media
ALL THESE GOBSMACKING BANDS IN THE SAME SOUNDTRACK. I WAS ABSOLUTELY FLUNG OUT THE WINDOW ABOUT THIS (as seen above).
At this point I was sold, I was GOING to watch this movie. I was deadset on it. And, to my luck, I found it free to watch on youtube... somehow. Still surprised about that. No I'm not linking it, I'm not a snitch, but I assure you it's very accessible. Anyways, I sit down, get comfortable, and get my shit ABSOLUTELY ROCKED. Aesthetically, this movie is everything I love - I had a lot of fun watching it (big fan of the lightbulb scene btw).
Tumblr media
Anyways I had the time of my life watching it, really soaking the music and outfits in, absolutely hollering at every indulgently gothy scene. Honestly, what a fucking experience - Eric was a sight to bloody behold. God, I was googoogaga for Myca too!!! The fashion was immaculate, a lot of the costumes are things I try to replicate and wear myself nowadays, so I was beyond stoked to see that right in front of me. I may or may not have a new style guide now!
I finished the movie in a good mood, and ultimately wondered: Why had I never heard of this before? Naturally I check wikipedia, see what production was like and what it was based off of - really neat to see it was based off of a comic, but then as I read on and found out the whole story behind Brandon Lee's death on set, I was very quickly silenced. Suddenly it was way more grave than I anticipated.
Tumblr media
Honestly it's a bit weird to mourn a dude 30 years later, but this may be one of the sadder celebrity deaths I've ever heard of. And knowing the effect it had on the original comic artist, who had been through enough shit in his life as is, was absolutely heartbreaking.
So now I sit here, unable to stop thinking about this movie, the comic it came from, and how I managed to stumble across it without even once encountering any advertisements or trailers for the remake that had released on the exact day I had found the original. Don't get me wrong, if anyone discovers the original because of the remake, I think that'd be fucking amazing, because the original deserves lots of love on top of the love it already has - but now knowing the remake was a piece of rubbish, I'm worried people might not look into it.
This may well have been the worst time to discover The Crow (1994) but holy shit, it is forever on my mind from here on out. I wish I had known it sooner, truly. As someone who considers themselves a goth, I did myself a serious disservice by not watching this sooner, I swear.

i may be crucified for this opinion but
one of the many reasons i think dds deserves a remake is just how little impact some of the characters have and it’s really fucking sad. unless they’re party members or antagonistic forces they don’t get nearly as much screen time as they deserve and i think that hurts them as characters???
jinana and lupa especially. i get the setting of the first game is a battle royale that turned into a cannibal battle royale so of course not everyone could live but they kinda didn’t get as much screen time as they deserved. i mean think about it they kinda just exist to introduce their tribe, interact with the embryon for a bit, disappear, reappear once or twice, then next time you see them they’ve succumbed to hunger, you beat the shit out of them, and they end up dying. what little they are given does make you like them don’t get me wrong but a lot of that rides on dialogue which, as someone who loves seeing people experience certain plot stuff of games i enjoy, i kinda noticed that it was a really mixed result. it’s either “oh no anyways” with maybe the player getting a little melancholic when they get brought up again or the player doesn’t care. considering how important their struggles and mini arcs are that’s not good??? the fact that they exist solely to develop argilla and gale is a shame since unless you like the exchanges they have their deaths don’t have that big of an impact. they do get mentions and all that in 2 yet it kinda just. makes me question it more from the standpoint of what could’ve been done with them or the giant emotional aftermath that should’ve happened. this isn’t to say they can’t die or whatever but considering the interesting conflicts dds introduces and how it already struggled to explore it as much as it could’ve, jinana and lupa really did have the potential to help remedy some of those issues.
and then there’s fred aka the smokey of dds. i still don’t know why he exists except to explain why lupa somewhat knows what a child is and to introduce the existence of tiny humans to the gang. i’m sorry i straight up forget he was a character at points.
qds fixed a lot of this yes yet i still think it’s important to point out on a game standpoint, since most people who play dds don’t end up reading qds, and i really don’t think actual important contextual stuff or major aspects of a game’s themes should be exclusive to books. it’s not as bad as something like fnaf or other mascot horrors—that shit was over a decade later—but it is a major writing issue and i don’t think the fact that the original lead writer got sick and had to leave means there wasn’t a writing decline. you can tell there was stuff that was going to be built upon only to be abandoned or underdeveloped.
it’s extra sad because this is straight up one of the best instances of world-building the series has ever had, and the whole cannibalistic character drama mixed with spiritual and buddhist + hindu themes is something so inherently interesting while also being in some ways taboo??? there’s not a lot of games out there at least not made by indie developers that get that risky since it’s not marketable, and something like that is next to nonexistent now in the mainstream market. we fuckin need games like the dds duology that challenge the status quo and goddammit if it got expanded upon and had more development for side characters that would be actually perfect.

I have just had a crazy dream.
Begin dream: vaguely 90s cartoon-style (kinda like Ed, Edd, and Eddy) point-and click game.
I have been here before in another dream so i know the goal of this location: You need to get an item to get through the gate (which itself goes into a narrow passageway with many crossroads).
You need to give the guard something or maybe shoot him to get through.
Pick up Space Shuttle, a "90s Laser Gun" (which requires a battery), and the Nuclear Winter Icicle Gun from Roblox. They were around in the world.
Go to the brain zone to unlock more items, which may or may not be useful, from brain spiders (complete the puzzles to get items).
Begin having balance issues, get increasingly upset as i can hardly grab the brain spiders, and i miss a couple of items.
I flip my shit and steal an incredibly large raspberry-esque hard jelly from a researcher (the whole location is vaguely like a diner).
Go back down to the other path. This is where the dream transitions.
We are now in a clickbaity "top 28 most violent moments in deltarune" video. It is narrated by the guy that does those "Top 10 Cinema Countdown" segments on television.
Remember: i hardly know what Deltarune is, my brain is just making shit up as we go along.
Third item on the list: It's a battle between the, uh, protagonists of Deltarune (at least two of them) and this dude who i'm pretty sure is just the Ice King from Adventure Time with even more back problems than usual.
Goat fella turns into a gigantic gumdrop-shaped pink thing with his face on it and starts ramming into the Ice King like he's on rollerskates (no animation whatsoever, he just slams right in there like he's in powerpoint).
This kills the Ice King.
Some fucked-up Dark-Fawful-esque void creature appears from the side of the Ice King's battle arena and addresses me directly that i should not have killed the Ice King and that this will lead me down a dark path (the character's name in the dialouge box was "rb").
Narrator dude starts talking about how the next item on his list involves Superfluids, although my other Narrator (Me, dreaming this dream) thinks he's talking about Ferrofluids.
The next item on the list starts with Sully from Monster's Inc and Bomb from the Angry Birds movie climbing towards the stern of the Toppat Airship.
The Toppat Airship in question is made out of solid gold. And it's in space.
Sully and Bomb talk to each other about how hard climbing the exterior of the airship is.
We switch now to the view of an AC-130 Gunship (also in space) liningup to shoot the Toppat Airship like it's World War 2.
Switch back to Sully and Bomb, shrapnel from the 105mm cannon on the AC-130 is hitting them. The gunship is just going absolute ham on it.
The first narrator mentions that they "put maybe a bit too much effort in making the wounds they recieve realistic".
An extreme close-up on Bomb reveals that he is made up entirely from cigarettes, and is also smoking a cigarette. He catches fire.
A few seconds later, the bow portion of the Toppat Airship ERUPTS INTO FLAMES, and it is sent into a death spiral as it breaks up during atmospheric reentry. The AC-130 is still shooting at it.
Sully and Bomb fall off of the Airship, and land on a nearly barren expanse of basalt, and the Airship (missing at least one propeller) crashes into a large basalt mountain in the distance. The "Xen" music from the Black Mesa remake starts playing as they recover from the fall.
I wake up.

84 - what's the exact middle of the films you've seen this year lmao
ex-lady (1933)!!! a movie that you watch and go woah that couldn't have been made just a year later!
i actually enjoyed it and found it like an interesting study almost in like. what the hays code took from us lol. because like obviously there were certainly some outdated things that i don't currently recall the finer details of bc i think it was probably mostly the like standard issue 1930s shit. BUT it also genuinely did shock me in its portrayals of like sex and non-monogamy. im gonna kinda get into it so this is gonna go under a cut lol
like it was very casual on pre-marital sex and had discussions of like not wanting to get married in spite of loving each other and didn't vilify her for not wanting to get married (but then they got married anyways bc of social expectations) and like. iirc the non monogamy did just start as her husband cheating maybe but then!! they were just like okay lets do an open marriage now! we're still married but we're just gonna treat it more like casual dating we'll live separately and can see other people. which is crazy bc stuff now still barely portrays open relationships i feel (and like if so, rarely in a way that isn't a joke or explicitly like bad/cringe/whatever in some way). and like, it DID end with them being like actually we just love each other and should be with just each other but it wasn't really judgy on it, like it was like okay this isn't right for us, but not like this was dumb or bad and we never should have tried it. it honestly gave it kind of similar treatment/consideration as the conflict in their marriage caused by them working together and having like professional disagreements (that i think made her go work for someone else but NOT stop working!! win!! i may be wrong but that's my recollection). oh also on the pre-marital sex, the wiki plot summary i just checked mentioned that like it kind of implies use of birth control! hell yeah! the other wild part is that it also just. had them watching like a female burlesque dancer (or similar level of like ooh sexy woman) and then be like well that got us in the mood so we're gonna have semi-public sex now!
so yeah idk it just makes me kind of like damn obviously it's not like all other cultural things would have been fundamentally changed if we didn't have the hays code but i do wonder like how much the state of like attitudes towards sex and like portrayals of non traditional sexual/romantic relationships in movies (and eventually tv) would have been different/where we'd be today. like watching certain pre code movies and then code movies bc i think to an extent people think old movies are like that yeah bc of the code but also because it was the 1930s! and like yeah that's true and i said that too (bc the racism sexism classism etc) but there are some things they were generally like. doing interesting portrayals of that you wouldn't expect! idk if this is coherent at all i'm just always thinking about what the hays code took from us.
i know bette davis like hated this movie bc like she felt like it was too much of like a glamour girl role/they sexualized her too much in the marketing and like that's fair and i could say so much about the studio system but i'm not gonna get into it. (i will say like it's also probably bc bette was not uh particularly sex positive lets say but like. i do think it's also fair for her to want control over her own roles/publicity and how sexualized she is lol). and i will say, it's certainly not like great writing or particularly compelling characters but at the same time it's such an interesting cultural relic of a moment of sex positivity that was so immediately shot down after. also... relevant to your interests its apparently a remake of illicit (1931) starring barbara stanwyck. so there's that.

Personally I found the Pokemon Direct, fine.
While I won’t say I don’t entirely understand some of the disappointment some felt but at the same time like to a point especially those who get like irrationally angry/ complain about things that were by and large never even a remote guarantee of being announced - that’s brought about by their own fault.
Nothing wrong with getting excited or even having particular hopes for things you want to see but like you know I think some people need to learn to be reasonable about it.
Especially those hypocritical bunch that complain when there’s no new game (be it main or not) mention but will also turn around and complain and rip on Nintendo/ Game Freak for pumping out yet another game so soon after the release of the most recent. And complain that it’s gonna be so rushed and bad.
1) I have to ask do you get the bored of the games so fast that only after a few months you demand the company pump out something brand new?? If so I think that’s more a you problem then a game problem (Personally I’m still finding plenty of enjoyment especially with my friends)
2) Would you expect that with any other game at all to suddenly announce a new game after only just releasing something I’d hope not- like I wouldn’t even expect a teaser to say ‘hey we’re in the planning for a new thing for the future’
3) As for remakes sure maybe we’ll get them eventually but again BDSP has only been out for like a year i hardly expect anything relating to Gen 5 for awhile
4) Personally confused by the expectations that’d we’d get the old gen pokemon games so soon. Yes with GB and GBA on virtual I won’t be surprised if they arrive eventually but they only just rolled it out and seems like there are still plenty of other games to be rolled out yet as is- including in there add that showed the Pokemon tcg
5) Alright I can agree it kinda is a downer to have to wait so long for the DLC but you know what if it gives them that much more time to polish it and make it fun I’m all for it
6) Holy shit whether true or not I think some may put to much stock in leaks/ or at least get to stuck on one idea - despite it not being a guarantee and could either be fully false or just implying any number of things (i.e like how I get the feeling a lot jumped on the idea of gen5 remakes with that one leak having gen5 mons, when at best it seems like it was just connected to that fact it looks like we’re getting some of them in the DLC stuff.
- Look nothing against theorizing or having wishes of what you’d want to see, hell I do it to but I really think so many need to take a breath, relax and realize that there is every chance things aren’t gonna happen that way- even if it’s something that seems a guarantee to happen eventually.
7) Okay sure I’ll agree this Pokemon Day Direct wasn’t nearly as packed or ‘hype’ if you will, as some they’ve had in the past but at least for me personally it also wasn’t anything worse then I’d expect.
- Generic updates for their various mobage games
- Finally getting proper confirmation on Pokemon Sleep was fun and nice to finally get
- the Tcg collectors things was cool honestly
- and of course DLC confirmation that had always seemed pretty likely
A bit average of a direct with no major reveals but like I don’t think every Direct Pokemon or Nintendo in general needs to be some big, massive packed thing.
And personally I think it ads to the interest of what might happen come next year- perhaps next year will be the year of big reveals where they pull the curtain and tease us with new things being worked on.
Again feeling let down or disappointed totally valid and I get it, while not expected a part of me almost hoped maybe they’d announce later this year pokemon Pinball coming to virtual or something (Unlikely as hell for sure but would have been fun) but going full rage... like that wouldn’t even feel acceptable if GameFreak suddenly came out and announced their final pokemon game or something.
I don’t normally says this, but genuinely I think those that do get unreasonably upset / angry over something as small as a Pokemon Direct not having something they want / not living to expectations need to go out and touch grass, or at least get some fresh air take a deep breath, and realize no matter how frustrating it is it’s not worth getting bent out of shape for.
Plus isn’t the saying No news is good news?
For all we know behind the scenes a select group of people be it in house or outsourced- are in the planning stages for some spinoff or a remake or gen 10, whatever they plan to release next onto their game library but are still in such early stages there’s no point in talking about it yet, have nothing to tease or reveal (I’m not saying they do but hypothetically on the slim chance it is happening just saying)

14 GAYS Later: A two week introspective - Diary of a Big Ole Gay 3/19/2023
Hey Whores, Long Time no see. I have been watching an absolutely slutty amount of gay shit. Also I may or may not have binged a bunch of television recently.
Tumblr media
(This is the only gif I could find I also watched The Staircase and starteed getting through RE: MIND)
but I have been on a mission to make a dent in my gay watchlist. I'm going to take a bit of a break the next couple of days but I definetly will watch a few more the last two weeks of march, (dear god are there still two weeks left).
Lets see anything else I should add to this diary. Well my dad just got a new apartment and it looks great and my cars been making a rattle noise which honestly gives me anxiety but I have my mechanic looking at it next week so she just has to get through this week. Hopes and prayers folks.
I also have going over the catering work I'm doing next month. Its going to be a lot of work but I'm going to be making very good money.
Tumblr media
(God Thats Cute)
anyway whores lets get into it.
Tumblr media
First a Girl (1935) dir. Victor Saville
Once again I am not watching VICTOR/VICTORIA, (through also where the fuck is that half and half costume from cause I've seen most of these version of it at this point).
Tumblr media
If you don't know what I'm talking about there is a french version called Georges et Georgette, A 50s german remake and of course the classic 80s VICTOR/VICTORIA. If anyone has links to the first two hit a bitch up.
This version is english and can I just say they shit the bed so hard. they add a lot of nonsense to this like she burns a dress? and it adds absolutely nothing to the plot. The other issue is that they either copy a scene from the original but with worse acting or they add what can only be deemed 1940s heterosexual nonsense.
Tumblr media
(I was looking for that part of singing in the rain where the audio gets out of sink and the actors are going NONONO YES YES YES)
That being said the original idea of victor und victoria is amazing because its basically epitomizes this early queer cinema trope of dude doing "man tests" to prove that it is fact
... a masquarader..... a drager personer... a dress-crossinger...
Theres something thats just incredible hot about this like top going up to a twink and being like yeah you a dude huh, your one of the boys, huh. You gonna fuck me in my bussy oh what bruh. Huh you man enough or what???
It comes off as like very homoerotic flirting. This one bascially side steps all the best parts of the original and it just made me realize how good OG Victor und Victoria is.
Tumblr media
Cat People (1942) dir Jacques Tourneur
Cat People is one of those movies that people talk about being like super queer and it kinda is. Like the whole movie centers around a woman whose afraid to get intimate with her husband because shes afraid that she will turn into a monster and she gets threatened with getting thrown in an insane asylum because of it.
Which while the movie isn't queer in its subtext. That kind of storytelling resonates with a queer audience especially a contemporry one this was right in the middle of the whole shock the gay away and scoop out are brains portion of medical barbarism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That being said this is about as queer as something like Picnic at Hanging Rock or Carnival of Souls. Its more feminist then anything but you can definetly read or relate to it as a marginilized and queer person.
Tumblr media
The Gay Deceivers (1969) dir. Bruce Kessler
OMG This is mandatory queer viewing. This is for the girls and the gays thats it.
tbf I had a hard time getting into the full on camp of it all and thats because I have to deal with my internilized truama and femmphobia.
I get a lot of interal validation from serving you slutty masc realness.
Tumblr media
(GOd thats hot)
and going into this film I had a hard time accepting that this was not it fact an attempt to call me a limp-wrist no-dick hippie faggot queer.
Tumblr media
(REFERENCES BITCH)
but about half-way through I realized that it fact I was being a big dumb dumb and that I need to embrace the Fae Gays as much as the butch ones. Ands its not that I'm one of those homos who are like ewwwww I don't like it when those faggots... dresss like faggots. But I also have to let go of my own pain of being treated as a sissy and recognize that people do get validation from that.
Dealing with queer gender baggage is a process and can I just say that if your like me once you get over your nancy boy truama this is an absolute queer delight hunty.
also we are getting Bisexual Realness! #Yaaaasssscar. to quote my letterboxd.
I also want to shoutout Elliot in this film, who I'm sorry thats a bisexual honey. He wants dick. This man is walking around his "husband" shirtless with his pajamis bottoms unbuttoned. Ok Fag. fucking his sister to get to him, I see you. Going to gay bars unprompted. Showing up at the queer party wearing nothing but a jock. homo.
Like lets be clear, if this was remade Elliot would've made a pass on Danny. Ok there is a literally a scene were after Elliot fucked this MILF and he was like. Well she was paying my rent I had to say thank you. And Dannys like. Well I'm paying your rent now and Elliot looks him up and down and is like Bet.
What I'm saying is that Elliot was 100% ready to suck Dannys dick if he asked.
Iconic We stan it is on TUBI right the fuck now. Pls watch.
Tumblr media
Daughters of Darkness (1971) dir. Harry Kumel
God for fuck sake step on me mommy.
This is one of the first Lesbian Vampire films on this watchlist that features Elizabeth Bathory, the countess who bathed in all that virgin blood you know the one. EB is a motif in a lot of Lesbian Vampire films but we have to remember that this is Pre-1971 which means that we are only getting the earliest Vampire films not the sexy ones like Nadja or Vampyros Lesbos, (there on my general watchlist just not this specific one.)
This one is hot as shit. We're talking just a lot of tittys and fucking and hot people making out. We have dommy mommy, we have toxic lesbian relationships, we have said dommy mommy being a lesbian who enthralls hot women to do there bidding. And can I just say. Mommmmmmy what about me. I want to be your thrall no fairrrrr.
This movie is giving us The Hunger vibes in the sense thats its horny, beautiful, slow, problamatic, and there are lesbians in this that you would just die for.
god women are so pretty, (I say as the bisexual fag who writes about early queer film).
Tumblr media
The Wild One (1953) dir. Laszlo Benedek
So fun fact I posted a clip on this on Snapchat with the caption, "Dear god I am so gay" because marlon brando can fuck this bussy
Tumblr media
(POV: what this man looks like as I am sucking him off)
and one of my friends, is like "Gay for this Pussy" and the answer is no Sir I am a faggot have you met me. Have you seen how much I suck dick. and yes I am gay for that pussy but not in this context sir. not in this context where marlon brando can and should tell me to get on my god damn knees like the little slut I am. OK.
(honestly we're kinda JO buddies but hes been really weird about it lately and been making it gay. And its like dude I don't want to fuck you. C'mon)
What I'm saying is that this movie has also inspired me to become a faggot biker and I need to buy leather pants. This film is pretty straight but like in a hot way so i'm into it. This was on youtube and while its not neccesarily super queer, (mostly on this list cause Fashion Fag Marlon Brando turned all the boys gay and into leather with this one. Thank you daddy), it is a pretty fun teen movie.
Tumblr media
Castle of Blood (1964) dir. Antonio Margheriti
So this is one of those random 60s movies that were going through a po-essence??? Like they really liked Edgar Allen Poe, think tales of terror.
Tumblr media
(god I love tales of terror and poe stories in general)
In this one Poe goes to a castle and just witnesses a lot of toxic polycule sheninigans. Honestly I couldn't hold onto the plot. I like it but I had a headache. Theres some lesbian vampires who, its suggested, kiss off screen but then the closeted one stabs the other. Rude.
Also the closet vamp is constantly trying to ride dick to prove how straight she is, and we've all been there honey.
Tumblr media
Twelfth Night (1955) dir. Yan Frid, A. Abramov
so there are a lot of different versions of this but luckily for my poor gay ass theres only like 3 or 4 made before the 1970s. Theres a bunch from like 80 and 90, Theres of course the teen dramas like Shes the Man, One of the Boys, Motorcrossed and I am spared that missery.
It is also at this point that I have realized that while Twelfth NIght is pretty gay it is not in fact gay enough. Check my recent text post of ideas to make it gayer.
so let me just say that this was in russian I don't speak it and I was using Youtube Auto-Translate which is like if you went to a foreign country with a shitty friend and they kept forgetting to translate it for you because they were to busy making out with this hot chick they met at the bar.
that being said the tom-follery carried the plot for me. and since 80% of twelfth night is just a B-plot about a ever-growing bunch of assholes pulling a prank on some snob it works. I will also say that this has the most iconic Yellow Stockings reveal out of any of the versions I've seen so far. They were garish and iconic and we stan.
oh also I forgot to mention this does feature on on-screen kiss between two women but the second women is playing a canonically male character in the scene. Real life v V gay narratively techinically straight
Tumblr media
Twelfth Night (1969) dir. John Sichel
Yet another version of this story. It was in english so I could here the dialogue but it was pretty poor showings. Honestly this sounds weird but watch te 1955 USSR version its a lot better.
Tumblr media
Masculin Feminin (1966) dir. Jean-Luc Godard
God I hated this movie. Paul is a little bitch baby and the only thing that makes this somewhat tolerable is the fact that Godard was like HON HON HOMOSEXUALS en la TOILET.
Yeah this was a two hour sludgefest. Also apparently his girlfriends roommates were LESBIANS??? but let me just say that this film focused on the painfully straight sophormoric pawing of Paul the ur-incel.
Tumblr media
Fuck this bitch
Tumblr media
Everything Else I Watched
Honestly not much I just watched Life Without Dreams over on Le Cinema Club which was pretty good and a bunch of TV which I mentioned above. I will probably get into a bit more gay films before the end of the month so stay tuned. I'm trying to just get it out from under me so I have room to breathe. On that note I really need to finish filming and editing my new youtube video. Anyway sluts and slatterns. love you bye.

Hello, this is my intro post for this little side blog
I am a darling who just wants to express my love for my f/os as such. Primarily, this is gonna be self shipping with yandere versions of my f/os, but there's gonna be like general yandere stuff too I want to post and reblog. I wanted to be able to talk about yandere ideas occasionally, but the self shipping community generally frowns on yandere shit and I wanted a safe spot to gush about it. Just call me Baby.
I am exclusively a darling in the eyes of my f/os. They love me completely.
I am not gonna specifically name my f/os here, as I would prefer this blog not get connected with my main self shipping blog. Which kinda makes my dislike of sharing difficult to enforce, but if you start talking to me about an f/o I definitely hate sharing, I would just ask you to stop.
Also, no like yandere people in my inbox trying to act like I'm your darling. I belong only to my f/os, thank you, and that would only make me pretty uncomfortable to receive.
My yandere f/os never use physical abuse. The only forms of yandere I like are the possessive types, but they never hurt my s/is.
Important note, I am not proship. That might seem weird considering most yandere stuff gets put with proship, but I am generally not. I do agree you can like darker themes and stories of weird relationships without approving of them in reality, however my line is crossed at romanticizing things like incest or adults x minors. It just makes me uncomfortable and I can't say I think it's alright with me to be engaged in ship stuff with those themes. That's my personal line, I am not gonna attack anyone or argue that you're doing those things in reality too, but I just can't associate with that. Since I fundamentally disagree with that part of proshipping, I am not proship. I'm also not gonna make this a further topic here, if you're proship you're not banned from being around here, but I just want it known that's my comfort level within that space.
I know yandere stuff is bad in reality, and though I may talk about how I love certain tropes or fantasize about darker scenarios with my f/os as yanderes, I never want to come across as fully romantacizing these behaviors. I know they suck. If you think I'm a hypocrite for being able to be alright with this kind of shipping and not the stuff above, meh, it's my blog.
I am open to talking. No worries about being shy, if you're kind I would love to chat in my ask box or on posts. I would prefer you ask before dming me tho.
Also, right now this blog is connected to my main; I may not like content just to keep that url from appearing. Genuinely am sorta nervous that anyone within the standard self shipping community may discover my side blog. I might remake at some time to seperate these blogs sometime later.

FF7 Remake/Rebirth Theory
We shall be stepping immediately into spoiler territory, so if you want off this train, now's the time. Ye have been warned. Anyway, as we are fast approaching the arrival of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and I have watched many of the videos and trailers that have come out for it, I still firmly believe that the explosion we saw at the end of Final Fantasy 7 Remake from Zack's perspective was the merging of his timeline with the Remake timeline. Before, I had very little to support the idea except that we see the party "pass" Zack and Cloud as they make their return to Midgar, but with some of the trailers for Rebirth, I think my theory has a lot more ground to stand on. In one of the earliest trailers, it starts with a news report and video of the party - minus Cloud - all being medevaced by Shinra troopers, with details of some kind of storm having destroyed a highway. This is most likely referring to the storm during the final battle after the highway chase, except the storm only occurs once the party crosses the threshold into the singularity, which does introduce some pretty big questions. A later trailer shows Zack and Cloud in Midgar, learning about the destruction that has befallen Sector 7. Now this is the part that really boggles my mind because it appears that everything that happened in Remake has happened, just somehow earlier because in the original timeline (and Remake assuming) Cloud makes it back to Midgar on his own a couple of weeks before the first bombing mission, so what happened to cause this seemingly sudden time skip of events where Zack and Cloud arrive to a Midgar where the Sector 7 plate has already been dropped. What's even weirder is that the party somehow all met together in the same way, despite not having Cloud with them, which really really boggles the mind cause there's a pretty important character among them who wouldn't have joined up with everyone and that's Aerith. Without Cloud, he doesn't join the party for the second bombing mission, doesn't fall into the Sector 5 Slums, and doesn't meet Aerith. If he doesn't meet Aerith, she doesn't take him back to Sector 7 where as they are about to split up notice Tifa on her way to Wall Market which is how Aerith becomes fully involved as she's the driving force pushing Cloud to help Tifa.
So how does Aerith become involved with the party without Cloud in this other timeline? I don't know, best guess is that it has something to do with her other self within the Lifestream giving her some memories she shouldn't have - just like Remake Aerith did as there are numerous instances where she knows things she shouldn't, like Cloud being a merc or who Marlene is and that she's at Seventh Heaven before Tifa can explain things. Of course, if this is meant to be the same Midgar from the Remake Timeline, then how is there a whole other party to begin with, the Remake party left Midgar to go after Sephiroth, and if the timelines have merged, how does this other party even make sense to begin with? - I suspect them passing through the singularity has something to do with it? Maybe? Either we've now got a merged timeline in which there are 2 Clouds, Remake Cloud and Zack's Cloud, as well as two different party groups, Remake Party that left Midgar, and the other that all ended up being taken by Shinra, with Aerith being taken back to her home as seen in one of the trailers (Can I also say how weird it is to see Zack, Cloud, and Aerith all in one room together. I may be a relatively new fan to Final Fantasy 7, but that alone made my eyes go wide) This theory is honestly kinda a mess and still has a lot of unsolved questions that absolutely need answers. Like, how the heck is Jessie at the Golden Saucer? Will Zack regroup with the other versions of Barrett, Tifa, and Red XIII that we see being taken by Shinra (assuming they haven't been experimented on by Hojo cause you know he'd do some weird shit) Will this series end with Remake Cloud and Zack fighting Sephiroth in order to save everyone and the world and even Time?
Also, given everything that has been shown in the trailers, can you even begin to imagine what we aren't being shown and what new things are waiting for us in Rebirth?
Can you tell I'm excited and have been waiting ever since I saw the words "The Unknown Journey will Continue" with anticipation and excitement and have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have seen so far of Rebirth.

The Unknown Journey Continues
Part 1
I know it's been a while... but I've been going down a rabbit hole with @starlight-samurai regarding time loops, Jenova, Minerva, and more fun. So I figured I'd try to put it into one post to get the insanity out of my head. Everything in here is based on things we've found by either going through more obscure Ultimanias, learning more about Dirge of Cerberus and trying to decipher what the hell Jenova is by putting together various sources - including other Square Enix games - and how they handled freakishly similar scenarios.
Did you know there is a companion mobile game for it that was out on the good old flip phones? Did you know there was an online mode in Dirge of Cerberus only available in Japan, but had story elements that were not in the main game?
The sad part is, there's still so much to go through...
(I've also had various discussions with @ourfinalheaven, Manu, who doesn't have Tumblr, so here is her Twitter. and Somebody's Nightmare (here is her Twitter). So I wanted to tag them here, as it's much more fun to discuss these ideas as a group, since it'll only help you build on and strengthen your own ideas.)
Please be aware, there will be Spoilers for FFVII - Almost all Compilation titles, Xenogears, and NieR Automata throughout this.
Tumblr media
So let's go on a journey where we explore what actually already exists in the compilation - including the idea of the whispers and timeloops - how Minerva may play into everything, and what exactly Jenova is capable of doing.
I asked Sesi if he'd ever played any of the NieR games, because he'd said something that made me wonder if they were going to take a similar approach. As a very, very quick high level summary: NieR Automata deals with a time loop type of idea. The androids will be rebooted and repeat the same things over and over again. This is broken when 2B is killed by A2 because she becomes infected with a virus. That being said, you have the option after Ending E to either erase all of your data and end the cycle OR you can try again. The Pods have a discussion, and one asks, "But won't they just do the same thing again?" and the other replies with "Maybe. But it could also be different this time."
Here's Sesi's message back to me when I asked him about this (cleaned up a bit since we were having a casual conversation over Discord):
Maybe I could just guess based comparatively on the Dirge storyline, because that was sort of SE's first flirtation with “robots and androids” since they’re all programmed and locked behind like task managers and shit that can shut them down. The story of the online mode for DoC that came out in Japan, we never got to see it, you’re basically an Android OC and you have to get to “the end of the level” and then essentially die, and a new one takes its place. This keeps happening until Weiss is essentially freed from being able to be task managed by the guys who are suppose to be able to control them and I know from tons of years with Square games that they’re verrrrry bad at differentiating their narratives they tend to just keep “ripping themselves off” so is it anything close to that?
Cuz if so I think I kinda know what you’re saying and yeah, I agree, I think with CC bringing in its poetic symbolism and LOVELESS, and DoC bringing back the cyclic nature of the lore, whispers, premonitions and future visions, proto-Materia and the perversion of this next cycle since the planet can no longer cleanse and protect itself and its will is weakening lesser and lesser to the point where it’s fate is “in a true sense of jeopardy This time essentially it’s all tied in together and sort of played as though it's a fated track; a cycle of events and something has hitched it, thus the whispers manifesting and Sephiroth's higher implied control over his destiny. Of course, even all that is just their new red herring game, but it’s definitely a part of the lore they want to play with, in order to go back and reMAKE the OG with the comp inserted from inception. Also gut punch a lot.
Time Loops
I was somewhat surprised to find out that this concept is NOT new to FFVII's universe. It's discussed in Dirge of Cerberus... probably one of the least played and least understood of the compilation. (Trying to sell a third person shooter with terrible controls to a market of mostly people used to turn-based combat wasn't going to go well.)
Tumblr media
On top of it, we didn't even get all of it, since online mode was never released outside of Japan, and the Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode was on Amp'd Mobile and Verizon flip phones back in 2006. Were you around for the cell phones in 2006? I had the ones on the list, and how somebody could play a game on those blows my mind.
Square has a tendency to reuse themes from their other titles. Probably one of the most blatant is the similarities between Xenogears and Final Fantasy VII. They were both being developed at the same time and a lot of ideas that didn't make it into FFVII ended up in Xenogears.
NieR
So how does this work? In NieR (both Replicant and Automata), you play the same path multiple times. Each time, it's slightly different depending on what side quests you did your first and second playthrough, but there's also other subtle differences throughout the story. In Automata, you get to play as 2B your first playthrough and 9S for your second. They follow the same path, but you get it from his perspective the second time and it reveals a bit more of what is going on. However, even with some slight differences, the main plot points stay the same and the ending result it also the same.
Tumblr media
Then on your third playthrough, you wake up in the Bunker, and you're getting ready to go on a new mission. This time, though, 2B is killed and shit hits the fan. Things get crazy, you play as a new character: A2. In the end, pretty much everyone "dies", but you can choose to "reboot" and try again. You also can say you are done and let them all rest and delete your save data (the game gives you the option for both Automata and Replicant, and with Replicant, it actually leads to a new ending).
The striking thing for me is... There are certain events that will always happen, no matter what.
Fixed Points in Time
It's been years since I've watched Doctor Who, but there was something that stuck with me, and that was the fixed points in time. You can read about all of them here, but here's the basics:
Tumblr media
Now, of course Doctor Who goes into this with much more detail and it's a recurring theme. However, as you read through that page, you'll probably find many aspects that have been used in various JRPGs that you've played. And Doctor Who most likely pulled some of the idea from classic Science Fiction novels. Each story puts its own spin on it.
How does this relate to FFVII Remake? Well, when they say that the major plot points will stay the same, it reminds me of this. No matter what, Cloud must fall into the Sector 5 Church, the Sector 7 Plate must be dropped, Aerith and Zack both must die, and Meteor has to be summoned, to name a few. So, with a time loop, those things would still have to take place in order to prevent a complete collapse of reality (at least in how Doctor Who uses it).
Therefore, the Whispers are ensuring that the Will of the Planet is followed.
One of the major themes in FFVII is that of loss. People die and they do not come back. Yes, other FF games do allow this to happen (FFX, FFXIII, FFXV), but VII is not those games. It was written with that idea in mind, that once a person dies, they, just like in real life, are dead and cannot be brought back.
I've previously written that I think they'll make us believe we are able to change fate, but we will eventually be slammed with the reality that we can't. That is because the planet has determined that certain events are fixed points.
Xenogears
Xenogears takes a bit of a different approach to the loop idea. Instead of repeating the same time period over and over, it has the characters reincarnated, and the same outcome happens each time: Elly dies. However, each time it's different. After all, they're in various time periods, in some cases thousands of years apart.
Tumblr media
In all of the lives of Fei (who will have a different name in each time period) and Elly (who is always Elly/Elhaym), Elly will end up dying trying to protect Fei and the others. In one life, she is a religious figure at a totally not Catholic church, in another she's the wife of a scientist who was working to create children from nanomachines due to mass infertility issues. But she is ALWAYS with Fei, even if his name changes.
In her Mother Elhaym time, this is when Lacan (Fei) finally snaps. Though he's not fully aware of his past lives, he becomes aware, the anger consumes him, and he becomes Grahf. Fei is then reborn into the time period you play the game in.
Tumblr media
There's a lot to unpack with this, so I won't go into it. Grahf wants to destroy God (Deus) because he thinks if he does, then it'll stop the suffering (his suffering).
If you do want to read more about Grahf, you can do so here, but it probably won't make much sense unless you've played Xenogears up to that point... Since it's much later in the game that this is all explained.
Tumblr media
Lacan's desire was to stop the cycle of Elly always sacrificing herself for his sake. Though Grahf is not a perfect existence - he's not fully "The Contact", he sacrifices himself in order to let Fei move forward, and hopefully stop the cycle, by destroying the Deus system. (Elly also tries to sacrifice herself here, but Fei goes after her and stops her.)
Now, some people may think I'm saying that Cloud or somebody is going to do this in order to save Aerith or Zack (or his village or mom), but in FFVII if they do the loop method, I don't think Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and the others are aware of it. Most likely, it's only 'Sephiroth' and Aerith who are aware of it.
How this Could Be used for Final Fantasy VII
I'm stressing could because there's so many different possibilities on how they use this (if they are using this), so please, don't take this as fact. This is based on speculation based on what we know.
Tumblr media
A time loop is a great way to explain away the differences in the story that we've seen: Biggs being alive, Wedge living for longer than he should have, etc. Since these are not major plot changes, they can simply say that this time it'll be slightly different... but your fixed points (major plot points) will remain the same.
It's a way to pull in some of the more obscure themes from Dirge of Cerberus and also play with the LOVELESS lore.
It could all simply be a big red herring and it's really just a remake of OG, but with the compilation tied together nicely... since it works much better when it's combined and not in 50 different games, books, movies, etc.
I don't think it's a "sequel" per say, not in the way I generally perceive a sequel. It's more of a loop of the same thing. The question is, when is the loop started and what will cause it to end? When will the planet (if it even is the planet) determine that it's good enough to begin moving forward?
JENOVA, Sephiroth, Genesis, and Minerva - Oh My!
Let's be real... Genesis isn't exactly the most popular character in the FFVII Compilation... but what if they make him one of the most important to the story? //Ducks as various fruits and vegetable are thrown in my direction//
Tumblr media
I think what Genesis is probably most known for is his love of LOVELESS. He has the entire thing memorized and randomly says lines from it throughout Crisis Core. LOVELESS lore is still something I'm trying to grasp, so I am not going to comment much on it. Once I understand it more, I'll update this.
Tumblr media
...And then this happens. The secret ending for Dirge of Cerberus, where Genesis picks up Weiss. Weiss, who has now been introduced along with Nero in FFVII INTERmission and is an optional ridiculously hard boss in the Shinra battle simulator in chapter 17 of the main story. There is some lore associated with the battle sim - so if you don't plan on beating it or you just can't, you can look up the pre-battle and post-battle cut scenes on YouTube. They're very short, but interesting. (I beat this asshole last night - it's a hell of a fight.)
....To Be Continued because apparently Tumblr won't allow more than 10 images per post now.... Next will be more on JENOVA and Sephiroth along with Minerva.

elishevart replied to your post: “Au idea, since you like giving Stan many kids...”
I can see Stan writing a book about them raising 12 kids
Also, If you don’t want Angie to have to many kids, you can go the last remake route and have two of their kids being adopted
omg yes, Stan writing a book about his 12 kids.  he gets the idea when he sees how successful Angie’s book is.  he even starts writing down the weird shit his kids get up to, so that he can remember it to write a book later.
aw, Angie helping Stan out with writing his book about their 12 kids.  proofreading and giving him suggestions and whatnot.  she even offers to get him in touch with her publisher.  he may or may not accept the offer.
and nah, Angie gives birth to twelve kids.  she can handle it.  the whole schtick of Cheaper by the Dozen is that they have twelve biological kids, so I’ll continue down that path.  also it’s kinda funny to have Stan get a vasectomy TWICE only for it to fail both times.  dude’s just too virile.  and Angie’s just too fertile.

a list of some notable customers, both good and bad, that i’ve served as a barista:
1. mocha jim - this guy was a regular who’d come in every night just before close on his way to his nighttime shift at a garage and order a grande triple mocha + a pumpkin muffin. he tipped every time, remembered our names and thanked us, and always asked me about my day. i have not seen him in a while but i miss him. mocha jim you are so loved
2. 1 berry lady - another regular. she always orders a mango dragonfruit with no ice and ONE (1) berry. one day i’d like to add two berries just to see what would happen.
3. cinnamon dolce lady - another regular! a horrid woman, truly awful. always asks for a cinnamon dolce latte and yells at us to give her FRESH espresso shots, then after we give her the drink she waits in the drive through window and sips it first (holding up the line) until she decides whether or not it’s up to par and if she’ll make us remake it or not. today the barista making drinks waited until the bitch was at the window to pull the shots to make sure they were fresh as humanly possible, and still the bitch literally sat there, gagged and stuck her tongue out (a grown ass woman) and said if those shots were fresh that espresso machine must be broken. cinnamon dolce lady i hope you rot in hell.
4. the kind old man who gave me a $5 bill for a simple black coffee but i closed the cash drawer before i got his change out and i felt so bad and he just laughed, told me it was all ok, gave me a high five and drive off into the sunset. i think about him every day i hope god is good to you kind sir i love you.
5. the lady who walked into the cafe one day during a hair appointment with dye in her hair and a bib on when we were understaffed and i was doing mobile and drive through bar all by myself. she’d been waiting a couple minutes so i said “hey i’m sorry you’ve been waiting, we’re understaffed and im really overwhelmed with drive through drinks right now. i’ll try to get to you if i get a break in drive through drinks but you may have better luck ordering through mobile or the drive through!” and she threw a hissy fit and stormed out while yelling about how rude i was and that she was gonna tell my boss. like i gave a flying fuck. she came back later after her appointment to and pulled aside a shift supervisor who’d just gotten there and apparently she was pointing at me while i was working and asking for my name and just straight up lied about what happened and offered all her helpful suggestions ie “well if you don’t have enough ppl you should close the cafe” (if we do that without permission from the district manager we get in trouble and they don’t let us do that anymore). anyway i didn’t get in trouble the shift just pulled me into the back and asked if i needed a hug and if that bitch had been mean to me. fuck this lady but kudos for actually having the balls to follow through on her threat. i’m kinda flattered i pissed her off so much that she wanted my name (my coworkers didn’t tell her shit) i hope i ruined her day i hope she lost sleep at night.
6. the lady who came through with her two grandsons in mother’s day and had them both say please and thank you and cleaned up after themselves and told me the drink i made for her was wonderful and tipped. just in general any little kids who are so polite and sweet and wave and smile esp the little girl who showed me her dandelion she’d picked from the back seat of her dads car. you know those kids are getting a free cake pop
that’s all for now

do you have your own idea of Billy's backstory? I know a lot of people like to change it up bcuz of the more. unsavory implications of it, but also most people just have different interpretations so im curious to know yours!
Yes I do! Kind of... I plan to write up some miscellaneous headcanons and tidbits.
I don’t have like a solid canon story for him but a pretty vague idea with some details. I just don’t want to post it all at once bc I’d feel like it’s set in stone and I can’t change it or something? Idk. So I’d rather post stuff in parts & add more later
The thing about changing it is that like, on one hand I don’t want to totally make Billy or any other characters too OOC by making them too nice or writing away their flaws. But on the other when I’m writing fluff or smut to just relax I don’t want the baggage of like, “it was a nice day to go on a date with your boyfriend Billy Lenz, who burns down orphanages for fun” yknow? Like I want a balance of both.
For now tho my idea about his backstory is subject to some changes depending on if I put him in the 70s or not lol but some stuff is constant.
(TW: Domestic Abuse)
Billy grows up in a lower middle class family where his dad was at work most of the time so he stays home with his mom, who’s not equipped to handle all the work at home and taking care of a kid who may have some kind of mental illness or intellectual disability or something.
His sister Agnes is born and even if his mother says she loves them equally, little Billy can tell something doesn’t add up.
His mother isn’t as bad as the remake but she’s still abusive. Not necessarily because she hates Billy but it’s more of a cycle of abuse situation where she’s probably passing on what she grew up with. His dad is neglectful at best
His parents’ marriage deteriorates over time and the kids get caught up in it somehow. The favoritism is blatant & the parents get at each other by using their kids in their arguments
I still think Billy was abusive in some way to his younger sister but I wouldn’t keep certain aspects of the abuse that are implied. He sounded pretty young in one of the calls where he acts out a fight between him & his parents so my interpretation is that sometimes it was him being a careless kid instead of actively trying to hurt her. And even when he did it would be more like rude sibling shit, like pulling her hair.
I’m imagining Agnes gets bigger and stronger and scratches the shit out of him lol he kinda deserves it. Fighting does not work in Billy’s favor since his mom always believes Agnes over him and even when his dad is home he’s too tired to really care
For some reason or another the kids are separated and Agnes gets to live far away from Billy who’s ... somewhere
Like idk maybe he ends up in foster care or at some kind of boarding school and as soon as he turns 18 he’s OUT

To be fair tho, any kind of line up woulda likely been mucked up by covid happening right in the middle of stuff, and some projects would likely be delayed farther than others; I'm still annoyed with hope atlus has been handling things, but figured to bring up the elephant in the room
Fair, but....the game came out in 2016. The muck up would've 1) not been till 2020, 2) parts of the muck up would've been overseas people rather than just JPN (aka what happened to Strikers). Regardless, it's 4 years before shit goes sideways and they didn't plan that well.
And....I ended up ranting (my frustrations with Atlus not you). Ok so like I agree with you, the C word that shall not be named did screw a lot of things up, but remember this was going on years before that. And if things got mucked up cause of C? That's fine, it's not Atlus' fault. But they failed to plan before that was a thing so I'mma say a few words about it:
We got P5 (2016), then we had to wait two whole freaking years for an anime (2018) and for....a crossover cash grab spinoff of another (2) game(s depending on if you got the triple pack or not) that current gen/new fans aren't able to play, along with the fact they forget the events by the end (ignoring the lack of any gd plot). Then it's followed by (later 2018)......ANOTHER crossover two the same two games new people probably don't know, with them forgetting the events at the end, on top of it ONLY being on a dying console. We're doing....fantastic so far, great job Altus. Was that shitty cash grab worth it? >.>
So we wasted two whole years post P5, and the first games outta the gate are........a waste. I'mma be honest, they are a waste. They're aren't unnecessary, I mean Atlus wasted them. Wasted their opportunity, their potential, timing. All wasted. It shows in the sales of these two(/three/four....depending on if you count P4D and if you group P3D with P5D) poor games.
Then 3 years after P5's release....we get a fucking remake. An....."enhanced re-release"....................are you shitting me? Three years. A rerelease. On the same....console. The SAME console. *inhales* Why? WHY???? No. Why? Why NOW Atlus? Tell me why, NOW.
"Oh Silly calm down-" No, no I'm very annoyed with Atlus I will not. Tell me Atlus, what was the point? What. Was. The. Point?
*rubs temples* No cause you see. Let's look at the P4 spinoffs. I know they aren't perfect! I'm not trying to say they are! But they have something that Post P5 releases are lacking. Spoiler: It's a brain and planning. But let's break that down! (gonna have a rough timeline, gonna try to be accurate in my short time)
P4 (July 2008) came out, Atlus wasn't in the best financial situation. P4 sold pretty well.
P1 PSP (April 2009), new port, Atlus still not in the best situation. (I think this sold decently)
P3P (Nov 2009), new port, still not in the best financial situation, P3P sold pretty well.
P2IS PSP (April 2010), still not in the best financial situation
P4 anime begins (Oct 2010), Atlus is bought by Index, anime starts it's run.
P4 Arena arcade ver (March 1, 2012), is doing well, coinciding with the anime as hype builds. It's helping to hype up the anime and P4G.
P4 anime ends (March 30, 2012), anime ends it's run, it's a big success. Between this and Index they are doing better. The anime helped hype up P4G and Arena.
P3 FES on US PSN for PS3 (April 2012)
P2 EP PSP (May 2012), new port, released only in Japan, not doing great (but we dunno how well the PS1 psn port did). Focus on new P4 remake and first sequel spinoff.
P4G (June 2012), new port, hype is building like crazy, sometime after this all Persona PSP games (plus PS1 P2 Ep for outside US) were release on vita as well.
P4 Arena console ver (July 2012), hype is building even more. New P4G girl isn't in game, fans are confused but between that and the initial Personas we kinda get what's going on (things clear up by Ultimax tho).
P stuido is formed (Oct 2012)
Ultimax arcade ver and First P3 movie air (Nov 2013): builds mystery left by Arena. Same month PQ1 and P5 (coming winter 2014! jksldfsaklaj *wheeze*) are announced. PQ1 announcement shows Marie and things start to make more sense (or less sense).
P4 PS2 ver on US PSN for PS4 (April 2014)
PQ1 and Second P3 movie air (June 2014), new game, sells really well.
P4G anime begins (July 2014), it was hyping people prior to the run. Around this time Marie has her own Ultimax commercial (so at least by this time we know she is gonna show up in Ultimax, maybe prior to this time we knew I didn't dig THAT deep, but we know the whole Arena thing she was just..."absent" and that mystery is figured out).
Ultimax console ver (Aug 2014)
P4G Anime ends (Sept 2014)
Third P3 movie air (April 2015)
P4D (June 2015)
Fourth/Final P3 movie air (Jan 2016)
P5 (Sept 2016)
Ok we got a rough timeline, these are all JPN original dates mind you (in the US Ultimax came out before PQ1 iirc but we are going off of the original releases). Obvie excluding the PSN ports, I dunno if/what dates the JPN ones for PSN were (if that was even the case). We are also ignoring the other Megaten games, I know Atlus was working on other stuff at the time, but there was a mini Persona team prior to P studio (they worked on other stuff at times but still), if anything it's more amazing hey could do a lot of stuff and better than after P studio was formed (at least.....*glares* Post P5).
So as you can see, after P4's release, Atlus focused on porting the older games. Which was a good move, P4 on PS2 did do pretty well so might as well introduce fans to the older games, no? And putting it on the PSP was a good move imo. PS1 games are backwards compatible on PS2 games, PSP was popular in Japan (so was the Vita if what I remember reading was correct, Japan....only...remember.... orz)....might as well spread to a larger audience no?
Soon after we have it’s first sequel game along with an anime. Both paired well, as they hyped each other up. With the anime having the most influence, as it caused P4MC’s name to be referred to as Yu (iirc, less so his personality in this since iirc the name they decided to go with came after writing). But it turned out that the previous port games would have an extra benefit. 1) It got fans refamiliarize with P3 chars for you know...the crossover game. 2) It reintroduced old P1/2 concepts (the one that always stands out to me are fake Shadow selves). Another great thing about the anime and Arena, is that it helped anime fans easily transition to the gaming side with Arena (so it easily served as a sequel to game only fans AND anime only fans).
Then we have the P3 movies, and now Atlus decides to take more of what they learned with Yu, and plan accordingly. They decided to try to adopt some more of the anime (well...movie) adaptation of P3 into PQ1 (specifically movie 2, esp since it was released close to PQ1). The movies made it easier for the anime only fans to get into PQ1 as well!
So far everything is synergizing well! We have refreshers, we have anime and game fandoms crossing over and overlapping, we have games that’s easy to follow from either the games or the animes!
Oh and this isn’t even talking about how the games lead into each other and synergize!
First, P4G introduces Marie, while she is missing from Arena (development timing reasons), but hey she’s a new girl that appears in other games! For once..... *Silly said both sad and bitterly*..... *sobs* But then we get to the games. While it’s cool for DramaCD fans to notice Labby and Kikuno, what’s really cool is the continuity with the later games. Arena gives us a few mysteries. Who is the eerie voice? Who is the malevolent entity? Who is Labby’s mom? And maybe even “why do the P3/4 kids trust each other/get along so easily” (tbh I never question it but hey it makes sense to question it so 8U). These questions are answered with two later games, one of which we didn’t know was a sequel: PQ1 and Ultimax. PQ1 and Ultimax have a lot of call back/forward (depends on which order you played them in) references, and they for the most part answer everything. Who is Labby’s “mom?” It’s Rei most likely. Both died from an incurable (at the time) disease, the timing and the similarities are too hard to ignore. That, and along with “why do the P3/4 kids get along so easily” is because they already did interact before, which makes them striving so hard to save Labby make it so much more interesting. They saved the mom, and now it’s time to save the daughter...in a sense. Then we get to Ultimax, and the two new mysteries are new....original chars BUT! Narratively they are pretty interesting.
Eerie voice, aka Sho, serves as a shadow archetype to Labby, Yu, and Adachi. Both him and Labby are mirrored color wise, and both have a similar background of rage and fighting (and issues with bonds, Sho wanting to reject while Labby.....it’s complicated). Adachi and him have a similarity of rejecting people. And with Yu it’s a reflection of what Yu could’ve been without a friend.
Kagu takes some good notes outta Nyarly’s handbook. Yes it sucks it wasn’t Nyaly, but hey at least he’s not a freaking mess like Yaldy (who tries to copy both Nyarly and Izanami’s plans when....they contradict but now’s not the time). And hey, if you played the P2 ports (either on the PSP or Vita) you’d see the parallels! And that is really cool and it def gets people speculating! He does do a good job, I think most people are just salty on the fact it wasn’t Nyarly, which is fair, but hey he was a destructive boi.
But then these lead into P4D. Ultimax’s......foil. While Ultimax (and Arena) were all about fighting, P4D lacks fighting. Ultimax you were banned until you fought, P4D you are banned from fighting. Sho/Ultimax/Kagu is about rejecting bonds and want for solitude, P4D(/Yuko/Mikura) is craving a want for bonds even if it means forcing them.
And....what does this all mean? It means Post P4 era releases had layers. They synergized, there was a reason to the madness. Either to get fans to crossover, to familiarize fans with the older entries because they were going to use something from it, and it utilized some spinoff/remake only characters for future spinoff releases (Labby/Theo/Marie....and later Hamu and Sho! with Motoko and her whole shtick being a reference). Nothing was wasted. Nothing felt like a waste. There was meaning.
What has P5 brought me? Nothing.
Big mystery? The only thing is Jose and that’s just left to the way side.
Spinoff/port chars? Don’t make me laugh. Doubt we’ll see more of Hikari (I’d be happy if we did tho!). Sumi/Jose/Maruki and even Goro are nowhere to be found outside of PQ2 and P5/R. Lord help me if Ichinose and Sophia don’t return.
Strong theme or connections? SNNNNNRRRK DLKJFSAKL;F *WHEEZE* FLKDJAFSFS AHAHAHAHAHAHA FKLDJSAL; *WHEEZE* HAHAHA HA....haha...haaaaaaaa.... Good one. Ok ok tbf, P5(/3)D, PQ2, and Royal all had one thing in common. The word “dream” came up one way or another. I don’t remember P5S saying that word tho. But each dream was different. P3/5D was a dream. PQ2 it was seen as a dream by Hamu (and Hikari?), I know Hamu was sleeping and “woke up” at the end of PQ2. Royal? uhhhh that whole “I stole their dream” blah, it was a connection I made prior to Royal coming out cause of that trailer (so my brain goes to that rather than if/where it appears elsewhere in the game). P5R and P5S (and anime?) do have the same gem things but.....whoop dee do? They don’t do anything with it.
Structure? See above, making us wait for the first actual sequel, and has us deal with 2 crossover spinoffs that didn’t have proper ports of older games, and then we have to have an unnecessary enhanced rerelease.
Post P5 games have nothing that made the P4 era work. And it really required a bare min of effort.
They release P5? Well guess what was around then. Devs ported their PS1/2 classics to PS4 under a digital only thing. They could’ve easily just ported P3/4 PS2 vers on there. Maybe even P1/2 PS1! Just do that and then the Dancing spinoffs (and maybe PQ2). “But what about the other consoles?” What about them? At this point P5 is only on PS3 and PS4. PS3 is easily covered, PS4 is where it needs covering. Worry about the other console/PC ports later. “Well what about remakes/remasters” Who says you can’t do both? Some fans want both, some fans will buy both even if they don’t want both (they’ll buy the old cause that’s all there is, but then will want the new one). FF7 did both, released the PS1 ver on PSN and then did a remake. That’s fine! I bought both! And I’m def not shy to rebuying Persona games multiple times! Regardless they needed to do this, not only would it cover PS4, but it also cover PS5 owners too (not that they’d know that but.... 8U)
It probs would’ve def helped P3/5D sales! ....I mean what really could’ve helped them is by being good games that deserved that price tag, but I have to work with what I got.
I just....I dunno. The P4 era was a lot of fun, partially because we had a lot to speculate on! Not just in the game we were getting but how they could connect! And that includes the lead up to P5! It was so much fun speculating on the spinoffs and P5!
But.......I think the only one that did that was PQ2 and Royal.....and that was mostly cause of Hamu (it’s the eye shape and eye lashes, that’s why Sumi reminds me of Hamu so much lskdjf;a). Sadly, speculation be damned, we get nothing in terms of a long and fleshy mystery like Arena gave us. We just have “who is Jose working for” and that’s it. Which is fine I like that  mystery but....WE HAVE NOTHING! They’ve given us nothing related to that. *sobs*
My best theory atm is Labby and Sho are gonna play a role in some upcoming game. And the next game announced is grey/silver looking so it’s either P1 or P6 or a new spinoff/other game. Calling what Atlus has given me “crumbs” is far too generous of a word. ;w;
(don’t get me wrong I do want ports, ports to all the systems! but Atlus needed to think a bit better. Port to PS4 first then worry about the other stuff later! I know I’m PS trophy biased, but I’d say the same thing about Xbox/PC/Nintendo.....tho sadly I know their hands are probs tied for PQ stuff orz)
God I tried typing this fast. I’mma head off to bed, yeah let’s just end it here. orz

1- Not much tbh, just what you've posted, and 2- To be honest I quite like your long answers. It can definitely wait though, you should get some sleep.
Is your warpriest link a constant thing? Does it ever fade into the background? I'm contemplating forming a second link, something happier than my copinglink, and I'm not sure how to tell when to tell when the line of a link vs a persona is crossed when not worn out of necessity.
And the original ask so I have it on hand. I did take a look at your original context, and if you're cool with it, I'll edit this post with a link for those who may find this is a useful answer and need that on hand. Otherwise, it'll stay a mystery.
But yes, it seems like my Sabe experiences would be a useful thing to talk about here. And in order to do that, I need to go over four things: who and what Sabe is, why he exists the way that he does, what that does for me, and lastly what I think he is in terms of terminology and why.
To start, here is his toyhou.se profile, if you want to read more about his actual story and thoughts and whatnot. But I doubt you'll have the necessary context for that, so let me go into it. RuneScape (RS) is one of the oldest MMORPGs in existence. WoW might be older but I doubt it. Basically it's a medieval magic fantasy that's very long running and you the player end up the World Guardian, aka the guy that stops the gods (who are very powerful folks who just don't die of natural causes and typically stand for some philosophy) from blowing the world up because Guthix, the dead god of balance, asked you to. Well, he voluntold you. And that makes you a major chess piece, Elder Gods get involved, it's a big mess.
But before all that happened, back in 2006 when I was introduced to the game and very shitty at it, well. I liked the lore insofar that I've always liked the lore, it was interesting and I liked thinking about it. I didn't have membership and I sucked at playing so I just read the wiki and the God Letters over and over and sometimes the Postbag from the Hedge. Alongside my two friends, we played at being children of the then-triad of main gods: Saradomin, Guthix, and Zamorak.
I liked Zamorak best, but I didn't think his ideas would be the best for society as a whole, so I ended up playing child of Guthix. Eventually we grew up and grew apart but every couple of years I'd go back to RuneScape, read the lore, settle on what choices I'd make if I could play, and think about being the player character. In 2010 I discovered a fic - dawn by khayr, it's on Ao3 and dA - about Iban, son of Zamorak, right around when I was reading Percy Jackson. Cue him showing up as a soulbond and an older brother figure and guiding me right up until the end of sixth grade. Iban got me through the ruthless bullying that would later set the stage for all my major suicidal-ideation and self-hatred for the entirety of high school: even then, I was more stable than I might've been otherwise, because he interfered.
Saradomin stands for strength through order. Procedures and law and diplomacy and war strategy. He was originally kind of a ripoff of the Christian god, but he's grown to be more of an order-over-peace character and is quite well-written. Guthix stands for strength through balance, and has been all over the board in terms of what he's done and will do. He's kind of a dick, actually, but his heart's in the right place.
Zamorak, as you've heard, is strength through chaos and personal strife. It's no "the strong over the weak" or "the strong take care of the weak", it's flat-out "everyone is strong, and just need the right circumstances to tap into it to be the best they can possibly be". Now, his philosophy is kind of more for warriors and scholars, but if you tilt your head, it applies to everyone. Chronically ill folks will find their chaos in fighting to get up every day and maintain a life. Folks in traumatizing, abusive situations find that chaos in their very survival. Scholars challenge themselves and their fellows and their predecessors trying to find the answers they so need. Nobody in lockstep, no such thing as "we've always done it this way."
A lot of human Zamorakians and Saradominist propaganda says that Zamorak is simply absolute evil: and to be fair, when most of that was written, he kinda was because he was based loosely on the Christian devil. Later writing says that they're typically mistaken on that. Zamorak isn't evil. The very first thing he did upon becoming a god was fulfill a promise and lead a slave rebeliion. (The Avernic uprising, if anyone's curious.) He stands for the downtrodden and says "You are never going to get your dignity by going through the motions and trying to peacefully show you're worth respect. Burn some shit down and prove that you won't stand for this bullshit."
Zamorak in a Saradominist's eyes is someone whose banner you wear when you want to be a crazy murderer. Zamorak in a Zamorakian's eyes is the singing voice who murmurs "Get up, this isn't enough to kill you, you can still do this," when transphobic laws get passed or you hear a slur thrown your way on the street.
And as someone who grew up queer and nonhuman, yeah, that resonates, and the older I get the more I think "Guthixian philosophy is best for a society at large, but Zamorakianism for individuals is good." Because Zamorakianism can't really apply on a theocratic level. It really doesn't. It turns into American bootstrap culture and no social services and all that shitty stuff.
The funny thing is that Zamorak himself has no issues helping out if he thinks you need it. (If he didn't, he wouldn't be cool with asking for help, or giving it when he's asked. Which he does do repeatedly so. The man has more kindness in him than people want to admit.) What I do find fascinating is what he thinks of the actions of some of his longtime subordinates, who clearly support him, but I don't think support his actual philosophy. Because if you ask me, he'd side with the downtrodden humans of Meiyerditch, not the vampire lords that treat them like cattle. He's proven that he likes humans, and doesn't see them as unworthy. I do wonder if Jagex will show us what he might do about that.
Either way. Ahem. Over the course of a decade and a half, I keep going back to RuneScape, refining my philosophy and side, thinking again what I would do playing the game proper. About... I want to say five years ago, Jagex opened up the Sixth Age and I finally noticed, and they rewrote every god's philosophy because they wanted every single one to be actually playable. Not just "hurr durr evil" but actually have a logical line of thought. They probably didn't have pop culture paganism in mind, but the gods of RS are incredibly well-suited to it.
Well, I found that out, and immediately went through every god's philosophy, and reasoned my way through it. What does a worshipper of this god look like? What sort of life would they lead? If i apply this to me, what does that look like from that perspective? Do I understand this? Is it comfortable to exist in?
And as it turns out, I understand Zamorak the most, followed a close second by Armadyl, which was quite surprising. Zaros remains incomprehensible and I don't trust like that. (That's another story.) So I thought about it more, and it stuck even when I wandered off to different fandoms and interests. But what happened was that I ended up internalizing it, unknowingly and without meaning to.
It meant that when, two years later, I ended up in a horrific and traumatizing situation, the anchor I hit that held me together was a mixture of being a Devil - I am a fucking God you will obey me and recognize my power - and Zamorak's core philosophy: this cannot kill me, this cannot stop me, this is pure fucking hell and I am going to laugh in the face of death because people are forged in hellfire and I will walk away knowing what I'm made of.
And I was right. Honestly, out of everyone who was there with me, I think I'm the only one that was that deeply entrenched and walked out without trauma. I do not believe I could have done that had I not internalized Zamorak's philosophy. (That isn't to say if the others had that philosophy they wouldn't be traumatized, because there were absolutely other factors I wouldn't know about and some that I do and didn't do them any favours; but I am saying that it saved my ass and without it, I might not have been okay.)
I walked out of that with zero regrets. Zero. Even now, I don't regret a thing. Because it doesn't matter what happened or how much I was lied to or if he deserved my kindness. I know what I perceived to be happening, and I know how I reacted, and when the pieces were down I was stronger than steel, gave kindness without considering the cost, and I walked away unscathed.
How many people can say they've looked death in the eye and laughed? More than there should be, not too many that knowing what I'm capable of when put into pure chaos isn't somehow impressive. Because it is. And Zamorak's words proved themselves, or rather, I proved him entirely correct.
And when I last went back to RuneScape, and thought about it with enough time to put it all into hindsight, well. Aw, shit, he was right. Then vaguely around that time I went back and read Dawn, which was unfinished, tracked down the author and demanded to know how it fucking ended. (She told me and we're still friends like three years later. xD) Then I went back and found my old OCs, and decided fuck it, I'm making my own World Guardian.
So first thing I did was log in and jump over to the Makeover Mage and make myself into a boy. Kept the plateskirt though, I wanted to have the RS equivalent of a limp wrist to prove I'm Very Queer. Then I went about remaking my character. I wanted to make a self-insert, I was old enough to know it wasn't cringey, it was just fun, but I didn't want to use my default avatar with the black hair over one eye and the Chaorruption. I wanted to make a new self-insert based in nothing I was already using.
So I made the most beautiful man I could! Long, dark brown hair, pretty semi-dark skin, looked Kharidian, and then I said fuck it and made him Zamorak's youngest son. Originally, he was adopted when he was young by Iban and Clivet, and suffered serious imposter syndrome when being WG meant he'd never get demigod powers. But as I grew more confident in myself, he ended up getting powers? And then eventually I rewrote his backstory, and then wrote about his mother, and her relationship with Zamorak, and then he had friends like Blaire and Icthlarin (who was also my furry awakening, rip me).
Then with the most recently questline I've been getting a bit more into RS magical theory, and I've been mulling it over lots, and Seanan McGuire's Middlegame definitely helped; and I figured out how I wanted him to handle being World Guardian: it didn't make sense for him to be openly Zamorak's son, the other gods would just target his family to manipulate him. So I had him play neutral openly and Zamorakian to his friends, effectively living a double life.
Then he just looked up one day and said "Oh, by the way, my father won't acknowledge me to keep me safe but I don't know that so we have a very unsteady relationship because I don't know if he loves me", and then Children of Mah came out, and he was all "Oh and I think I just got disowned (I didn't, Zamorak was protecting me, but I don't know that) so my relationship with Zamorak is Fucking Shitty" and he was stuck that way until I figured out how to save their relationship.
It culminated in Sabe not knowing how his Mahjarrat powers worked and guessing, and hating himself for being half-and-half, and missing everything about being a Mahjarrat, and literally you couldn't have gotten more obvious in order to tell me I was having Fucking Issues coming to terms with the fact I didn't have any understanding or knowledge of my own heritage, but whatever, eventually I noticed that.
And as I've been working to understand myself and my heritage, so too has Sabe been doing that with his Mahjarrat heritage. But for the longest time, no matter how I put him and Zamorak in the same room in a scene to try and get them to talk it out, it wasn't working. Something wasn't right. Sabe resented being World Guardian, hated having to betray his family, didn't know if he was wanted, and hated himself for having to kill Mah, the mother of his species.
Not that long ago, a few months actually, he informed me (which is my shorthand for 'I suddenly figured out this happened, and it genuinely feels like remembering that one fucking word you have on the tip of your tongue, I always knew and just forgot for a while') that no, he'd been ripped in two by a hope devourer, brought to his father's stronghold, and Zamorak split his magic between mortal and divine in order to get around his godproofing and heal him. Zamorak's intense worry for his youngest son was what caused Sabe to break down and tell him honestly what was going on and how he was feeling, which caused Zamorak to do the same, and they finally, finally made up.
A week later, I noticed the connection between Sabe's Mahjarrat issues and my Irish issues, and started to wonder if he was a linktype.
I mean... he's a self-insert. He makes the choices I would, the me in the here and now, that I think are best. He's not a person I was and still know myself to be, he's not someone I grow into, he's not living his life beside me like a shadow. He's me, choosing the things I do, because I say so. But he's also me in the things he reflects, the things he struggles with, and things I had zero fucking conscious input on.
Sabe is the person I am when a crisis hits and I have to deal with the chaos. Sabe is the person I am when I need to lead. Sabe is the person I am when I am desperate to be known and loved by those I consider family. Sabe is the person I am when I want to be sure in where I came from, where I will return to, and the things that I will always be. Sabe is a man of darkness who knows the light as an acquaintance and nothing more, who is cruel and careless and kind.
Sabe is a warpriest of Zamorakian philosophy, because it took me twenty fucking years to put into words how I see the world, and now that I know, I will argue them to death and use them to help others. Drakath may have wanted a messiah to share the hivemind with others. Sabe is a warpriest, spreading the word and calling home the broken and the damned. He is the Last Rider, not the last of the Ilujanka but the one who keeps riding towards the chaos and never falls, no matter what.
Some of who Sabe is I have conscious input on. A whole lot of him was unintentional and perfectly reflects me.
So when it comes to terminology... I don't know what he is. A self-insert, yes. A linktype, maybe. A kintype, also maybe. Sabe doesn't feel like my past linktypes, because Sabe isn't always catharsis and comfort. Until he made up with his dad, Sabe was brutal and hurt a lot and constantly yearning for his foundation and slowly going mad. It wasn't fun. I just refused to do anything but see the story through. I was going to get it right. I wanted to see it to the end. I wanted to be the Last Rider, even though I didn't phrase it that way.
But to answer your actual question, of what he feels like when I'm not actively being him out of necessity, desire, and active thought. If it fades into the background.
And like... it can? Sabe as he is, recognized for what and who he is, is kind of a new thing. Sabe as a concept is very old, but Sabe as what he is right now is new, and confusing, and honestly I'm still trying to figure out what to make of it.
Like, seriously. Sabe is Zamorak's son. Am I Zamorak's son? Is he keeping an eye on me as I am? Would he be proud of me? Would he offer his approval of my progress? Does that make me, in some way, the World Guardian?
I have not a clue, buddy. Not a goddamn clue.
So what it means is that I've been paying attention, really. I don't just become strong in times of crisis. I've been trying to do better. Be better. Learn, and listen, and rethink myself. Break out of lockstep, of doing things the way I've always done them. Try to always do better than I did, build habits I like, stop waiting for things to change and just do it. Become the chaos, instead of waiting for it to hit me.
It means I need to live up to what Guthix told Sabe to do. It means being gentler, being kinder, not burning bridges when I'm not sure. It means keeping an eye out for any sign Zamorak's listening, in case I am his son, in case I really have to decide what I'm gonna do about being the son of chaos incarnate.
But other than the questioning, what it feels like is just... what I was already dealing with, just a little more at arm's length and easier to deal with. Once I recognize that his issues are reflective of mine, if I solve his, I have a pretty good idea of how to solve mine. Some of it won't work exactly right - Zamorak will always forgive him for not being the son he expected he might have had, my own parents may not, yay I'm queer and pagan - but it's a good rule of thumb.
It's also just comforting to know that when in doubt, nothing can kill me, because I simply refuse to die. I am World Guardian, I am a demigod of chaos incarnate, all the hellfire in the world can do nothing but strengthen me. And if I present those to myself as unshakeable beliefs, because for Sabe they are, then I'll be okay. It probably couldn't stop most disasters or tragedies, but I got hit by a car, broke five bones, and walked away with a record recovery time, so I mean... I can't prove that I can't die by some accident or tragedy, but you also can't prove that I can. (Trying to do so usually falls under what we call 'murder', and I personally believe I can't be murdered. Only assassinated.)
But really, I think the worst that could possibly happen with a new linktype is that you learn what not to do. It's new, it's scary, it's chaotic, and from where I'm standing, that's the best way to learn.
