to everyone who feels underrepresented, misrepresented or unrepresented; everyone who can’t express themselves, their gender and/or sexuality in a manner that feels comfortable to them; to everyone who experiences dysphoria, who is misgendered and deadnamed every day; to everyone who’s closeted because they’re not ready or they don’t feel safe; to everyone who’s flag isn’t on this post: I see you. You are loved!

I love Chiyo- and I kind of headcanon her as a Witch of the Woods (Sands???) archetype- a bitter old woman who has sacrificed too much, experienced and committed more atrocities than anyone can imagine, and who knows the truth about what lies in the hearts of men to live among the villages anymore.
In my AU she's got a pretty dark backstory. Back in time when Villages were just getting established, women weren't allowed to be shinobi in the same capacity as men. There was too much warring and death among the clans to risk women, so they were only ever allowed to serve as spies or medics. (Chiyo started off as a medic).
And like any military/fascist dictatorship, serving the state was more important than anything else- so women who were kunoichi were given missions to steal and return with powerful bloodlines. Even before villages, this was a common fear among clans (which is why so many of them have protective measures and inbreed/arrange matches very carefully).
Chiyo was one such woman, who took a X-rated mission in her youth because she was told it would 'serve her nation'. There was a powerful bloodline whose Kekkei Genkai could harden sand to something akin to Steel- something Suna very desperately wanted.
Chiyo succeeded in her mission, but despite the veneer of 'serving your nation', when she returned, she was considered, in her words, "Just another whore."
Then when her son didn't manifest the bloodline- it was worse, but Chiyo was happy because that meant her son was HERS. (This is when she met Enji, and he saved her son's life at great cost- so Chiyo owes him a blood/life debt.)
Then the war came, and they needed women to fight so now serving the nation meant something different, and Chiyo became a full fledged 'shinobi' and turned her healing towards poison and death- especially when she had to fight the Salamander.
Then she sealed Gaara and that was the atrocity straw that broke the camel's back and she dipped out Suna and retired to an oasis. She's still a healer, but adamantly refuses to serve shinobi.
Once again, thank you so much for these asks and all the support for this AU?

New farmer (for 1.6 update reasons).
His name is Death and he's really death. He's pretty quiet and just wants to live in peace with his chickens. Tries to interact with the town as little as possible but is really curious about them and how they live and is super satisfied to simply watch them - but as the new person it seems no one wants to let that happen.

Dad! Levi: first diaper change
Warnings: pregnancy, birth description (not graphic) Nasty baby poop.
Levi has been practicing for months for this moment. Mentally preparing. The day is here and it’s currently wiggling around in discomfort towards being naked and cold.
Labor was nothing for you, the nurses were surprised how fast your baby boy came considering it was your first birth. You were practically crowning in the car, only reason you were composed (as much as you could) was because Levi was calm. Seeing him immediately get everything that was already packed for the hospital in the car, shoes on, and helped you get in the car with no panicking made things a little easier on you.
Now your baby is here, in need of a diaper change. You’ve been discharged and sent home and while you rest Levi stands before your son who lays on a changing table and is absolutely disgusted by this babys poop. He didn’t expect it to be so dark. He did not read about that in any of the baby books, perhaps he skipped it. Levi panicked a bit but google calmed him down stating it’s very normal.
Levi immediately puts his disgust to the side and starts cleaning.
“Jesus kid, you just got here. Alright, alright no need to get mad I know it’s cold. You’ll be bundled up in no time” Levi says as your baby is squirming and whining. The baby is cleaned and changed, bundled back up in his little onesie and swaddled (Levi is a champ at that). He takes the baby and settles him into one arm while he disposes of the diaper. “$70 for a trash can, isn’t that ridiculous bud? Probably not as ridiculous as the $1200 stroller. That was all me though, only the best for you.”
Levi continues to walk around with your baby in his arms and the baby is asleep, soothed by his father’s voice.
“Happy you’re here bud, hope I can be the best dad you deserve. Your mom is already the best no question there.”
“You wouldn’t believe how happy she was when she learned she was pregnant, and don’t get me started when we learned the gender.” Levi sits in the rocking chair in the corner of the room.
“Can’t just blame her I might’ve bought one too many outfits too” Levi softly rocks the both of them back and forth. He looks down at his peacefully sleeping son and lightly smiles. “Love ya bud, gross poops and all.”

In my opinion, the best way to figure out if you'd like HI3rd is to read the "Second Key" Honkai manga which you can get to via this link.
Basically, it's about a character going through a sort of "trial" in which they're cast into a dream and relive some core memories of a different character. It won't make much sense at the start, but by the end of chapter 3 or 4 it should be pretty clear what's going on.
What makes this such a good manga is that it basically covers some of the most important story concepts in the entire game at a superficial and introductory level. It's perfect for someone who knows little to nothing about Honkai.
Honkai energy, sickness, & beasts; Herrschers; stigmata; Project Stigma; Divine Keys; MANTIS; Imaginary Tree. All these concepts are incredibly important, and this manga should present them all in a way that is relatively easy to understand while also being a good indication of what HI3rd's story is really like.
It's basically "Honkai in a nutshell".
The problem with playing HI3rd itself is that the game's quality is incredibly inconsistent.
Early story content is janky and poorly written, newer story content is decent but has some issues with pacing and/or writing style, and most of the best content is in the middle. This means you have to put in a lot of effort to get past the crappy starting point, and there's not really any way around that. This kinda applies to gameplay as well, but it's not too bad, I guess.
There's also not that many good resources for lore outside of lore videos and some reddit/tumblr posts. Genshin & HSR have incredibly thorough wikis, but the HI3rd wikis are only good for gameplay stuff (character equipment and gameplay descriptions), not really for lore.
Those things I mentioned earlier, the Herrschers and stigmata and stuff, these things don't get properly explained in the game. You have to read a lot of manga to get the idea, but the manga are also chaotic and poorly organized, with some manga being incredibly well-written (Second Eruption, Second Key, Alien Key) and others being highly questionable at times to the point that they're bordering on non-canonical (AE Invasion, Escape from Nagazora).
For an HSR analogy: imagine if the beginning of HSR wasn't Herta Space Station, but instead the game started in the middle of the Belobog story arc.
You play as the Trailblazer but your character already knows everyone and you're halfway through a story arc with lots of stuff going on. No intro to March 7th or Dan Heng or Welt or Himeko. No opening scene where you arrive at Belobog and learn about the planet and its Stellaron crisis. Nobody tells you what a Stellaron is, nobody told you about Paths or Emanators, and so on. Stuff just happens and people toss around words assuming you know everything that's going on.
And if you want that backstory, you have to go find the manga, but some of the manga were written 6 years ago and feature multiple non-canonical concepts and characters, plus they have different art styles and writing styles, and a significant portion of the manga chapters are out of order and haphazardly mixed together.
That's what starting HI3rd is like.
The game starts without any introduction to the Main Trio of protagonists (Kiana, Mei, Bronya), no intro to Honkai or Honkai Beasts or Herrschers, no intro to Schicksal or Anti-Entropy or St. Freya, etc. Stuff just starts happening and everyone knows each other and throws around funky concepts willy-nilly, and the game acts like you already know what's going on even though you probably don't.
So yeah, if you want to know if HI3rd is worth the effort to get into, I'd say read Second Key. If you like the characters, if the story concepts sound interesting, if the writing is appealing to you, if the aesthetics are nice, etc., then I'd say go for the game. Second Key is basically the introductory chapter to HI3rd that HI3rd never got.
If you do get into HI3rd that way, just make sure to keep in mind that the first 6 chapters are gonna be rough, chapters 7-9 are good but unpolished, and chapter 10 onwards is when you start to see quality writing, dialogue, stage design, and so on. The first open-world stories are also very meh (Sakura Samsara and Schicksal HQ), but the other two (APHO 1 & 2) are solid.
Also, regarding the UI and "reset" and stuff...
when I said earlier that this game has inconsistent quality? That issue is getting worse, not better.
The UI is getting updated but it's a very patchwork-y update, with different menus getting updates at different times. It's an awkward mix of new and old that's kinda jarring at times.
And as I understand it, instead of fixing Part 1 up and bringing it up to par with the rest of the Hoyoverse games, Mihoyo is kinda sweeping it under the rug by allowing players to skip ahead to Part 2 once they reach a certain player level. So I have very little faith that the early-game HI3rd experience is going to get the repairs and polish it needs to be accessible to the average player.
comrades…..friends…..fellow Romans and countrymen……I have an insatiable desire for knowledge. An obsession, if you will. The pile of fat and synapses contained in this vessel’s cranium has deemed that I must learn all the lore of honkai impact 3rd.
I also know that the UI of this game is getting a massive overhaul (or already has?) and that the game is getting some kind of reset.
Honkai impact is….dense. It’s been going on for years. Should I do it, lads? Should I try to play it? Should I do that to myself
