becoming han's girlfriend was something out of the ordinary.

you remember the days of interning for jyp's hairdressers and stylists, standing in the back and taking note of the different procedures that were done. you'd follow the main stylists around different shifts, from the female idols to the male idols.

you'd help by assisting the main stylists by giving them the scissors they needed, do a quick minimart run to buy some hairspray or hair ties that ran out, and maybe at some point bringing the used towels into the laundry.

as you followed around and practiced more, from an intern to a regularly paid hairdresser at jyp, you had progressed your skills in styling and cutting hair proudly.

you started doing your own shifts, starting off with groups like itzy and twice, before you decided to try out handling the boy groups.

fate had its own plans when you were assigned to style the hit group; stray kids.

meeting bangchan, known as chris, you'd learn to fall in love with styling them. but your heart would learn to fall in love with none other than their rapper and producer, han.

han would always start conversations with you while styling his hair, which you would happily reply to.

you knew falling in love with him was petty, when your only interactions were when you had to style his hair. yes, you may or may not have bumped into him once or twice in the hallways as you were on the way to style the next group, but a relationship? you were surprised yourself when he confessed he felt a spark between the two of you.

that's what started the courtship between the two of you. a spark. you knew it was forbidden. you knew it couldn't happen. what would the media say if it got out? "scandalous relationship between stray kids' HAN and random stylist!" oh you could see the headlines.

so when you started coming over to style han's hair more and more often, you had hoped that the other members wouldn't get suspicious of han's constant nagging of you being the one to style his hair.

to the point even you yourself would ask him if he could come over and let you try out a new hairstyle you've been learning. he'd asked you to be his girlfriend soon after. with it, you both had to learn to be more careful with the moves you took, as some of the dressing rooms had other stylists stationed to deal with other members. one wrong move and you'd be fired.

the first member to notice han's not-so discreet changes was none other than changbin. obviously they'd both practice together for shows to perfect their rapping technique, changbin begun to notice the different hairstyles.

to the point when han showed up with tiny little braids in his curly hair, was when he decided to ask.

"hannie-ya! your hair, that's interesting..." as he points at the little braids all over his hair.

han's surprised look signified something else, but his response just made it more suspicious; "oh- this? yeah, i'm trying out some things since my stylist came in late..."

"stylist? it's just practice? what would you need a stylist for?" changbin inquires, still curious.

"you know... curly hair is harder to manage!" he laughs, trying to brush off the topic.

changbin pats him on the back, knowing there was something more—but not wanting to interfere, "alright hannie, let's get to practice."

han let out a sigh, but even he knew he was slowly walking onto some thin ice. thankfully, changbin didn't tell the rest of the members of his suspicions.

but as time went on, the other members started picking up on his hair. his usual held back practice hair would turn into curls, braids, and even little space buns at one point.

by now, everyone knew of his constant changes of his hair. they knew each other well enough that they didn't need their hair styled if it was for a practice.

chan knew he had to confront him at some point, worried han was spending money on stylists he didn't need.

so during breaks in between practice chan approached him, a stern look on his face. "hannie, we need to talk about your finances."

han, obviously shocked at the question, responded with a quick "i'm an idol, what do you mean my finances?"

chan furrowed his brows, sighing. "han jisung, i'm serious. i don't want you running around the place spending useless money on stylists you don't need! if it was for fashion or clothing i would understand, but you have to understand that you don't need to go to a stylist everyday."

"i'm not spending useless money, hyung! so what i want my hair styled everyday?" han tried to defend.

"the thing is, you've been coming to practices late! you may not realize it and i may accept your tardiness once or twice, but it's getting too repetitive. what is it han? you have a secret girlfriend or something?!"

the entire practice room went quiet at chan's last statement. everyone else perked up and tried to focus on han's response. when han didn't respond and just hung his head low, everyone knew chan was right.

"hannie-ah, why didn't you tell us? we're your brothers." chan asked, trying to comfort him.

but before han could respond changbin cut with a "yah! i knew it! i knew you had a secret girlfriend! so who is she? is she a stylist or something?"

changbin's last sentence made him lower his head even further, lifting up the hood of his hoodie, only to hide his face in it.

"hyung? you have a girlfriend?" jeongin cluelessly asked.

seungmin gasps before he cuts in; "he does! wait, is it that one hair stylist you keep asking for every time we need to perform?"

all of them look to seungmin; "which hair stylist?" chan asked.

before han had a chance to respond, he pushed through the members crowding him as he ran out of the practice room. he opened his phone to find your contact pinned, and pressed call.

"jisungie? hello? what's wrong?" hearing your voice come out of his speaker made him calm down. your voice was like the light at the end of the tunnel.

"baby, i messed up. the members know." he confessed.

"know what?" you ask, confused. "about us?"

"yeah... i'm so scared they're going to find out, like what if they fire me... what if they fire you?" he questions to himself.

"sungie, stay where you are, okay? i'll find you. you need to calm down. what practice room are you at today?"

he sighs, "the usual, but i'm outside."

"i'm on my way." the line beeps as the call ends, as han grasps his phone hoping you'd come faster.

his eyes close as he tries to take deep breaths, hoping the awful scenarios he imagined would happen not come true. he then feels a soft hand on his shoulder, and as his eyes open, he engulfs the figure in a hug before he could even notice who it was.

"hannie? are you okay?" you ask him, hair clad in a claw clip after rushing from another appointment.

he stutters out a; "mianhae—mianhae—mianhae, i know you're mad at me, it's okay, i'll just have to live on the streets when they fire me and open a hair salon with you—"

he gasps as you cradle his tender face in your hands, shaking his head in disappointment. "what do you mean? han, now that your members know, we don't have to hide around anymore."

"i know that baby, but what would our label say? what if they find out?"

"that's not for your pretty head to worry about right now, for now we can enjoy the fact that you can be honest with your members. no more hiding around, no more late excuses to practices. come clean baby, it's okay." you comfort him.

han looks up at you, "you sure?" before you nod. he embraces you in another hug, before standing up and grabbing your hand, dragging you into the practice room.

everyone looks towards the doors that just opened, seungmin hurriedly standing up and cutting the silence with a; "hyung i'm so sorry i didn't mean to..."

that's when they see the two of you. han takes a deep breath before he starts speaking, as you clench his hand, signaling it's okay.

"guys... this is my hair stylist. my girlfriend." han confesses, looking into your eyes for assurance. everybody waves an annyeong to you, which you wave back. you were still in your stylist attire, an apron clad around your waist with different bits and bobs.

"so, she's your stylist? you gotta hook me up dude!" hyunjin teased him, which earned him a slap on the back from han. you laughed at the gesture, showing his protectiveness for you.

"she's my stylist, stay away!" he'd whine, hiding you behind him.

"so he's been getting his hair styled for free?!" felix asked you, which you nodded. "man we suck... we should all get stylist girlfriends."

"i have my cats... i think we're okay yongbok." minho chuckles as he puts his arm around him.

chan smiles at the interactions happening, seungmin and jeongin appalled by your presence, felix and minho arguing about whether or not they should follow han's footsteps into getting a stylist girlfriend, and changbin and hyunjin teasing han for getting someone like you.

you didn't mind the chaos, seeing chan smile at you signaling you've been welcomed into their little family.

looking at han's red face, trying to keep his composure, you quickly peck his cheek to make sure he's okay. he looked at you with a nervous smile, but you know everything's going to be fine. as long as he's by your side.

"yah! i knew it! oh ever since those little braids in your hair, i just knew it hannie-ah!" changbin laughs, han blushing at his words.

yeah. you've got han, and he's got you.

Hey! I still want some Sakura! Reader, but its fine if you dont want to write one. Basically, after their marriage with their lovers, they have 2 children together, the eldest is a boy and the youngest is a girl, maybe 4-5 years age gap?

So, their son train under their father while their daughter decided to become healer like reader. Right after their training, the son and RoR character decided to check on reader and their daughter, maybe for a meal together only to see reader and daughter duking it out, destroying their entire surrounding when their punches/fists met.

RoR character is just looked on, used to reader's strength while their son, who was unaware of reader's strength begin sweating. Then the son remember how the RoR characters had said that he had asked reader to punch him once to asses her strength and their son immediately shouted in shock and disbelief.

Son: How are you still alive?!

-(Love) adored you, he has for years now, but now he has more to adore with the children he created with you, a son and daughter.

-You were an amazing mother, handling not only the pregnancy and the births with ease, but also raising the children while also dealing with him and your duties, it was honestly amazing how well rounded you were!

-Your daughter had been begging to start training with you, to be like her big brother, who was 8 while she was only 5, as she sees him training with her papa all the time and she wants to do it too, seeing it as playing.

-(Love) and you had discussed it, and after one hell of a puppy eye look from your daughter, you agreed, and you started her off with strength and endurance training first, running and exercising, but she didn’t mind, as she felt like it was like playing and she was like her big brother!

-There had been some hesitation about you training her, due to your unnatural strength, the result of hard work and grueling training when you were younger, but your daughter wasn’t one to give up easily, she was stubborn, just like her father.

-It was a quiet day, after several months of training, when your son and (Love) were returning home from their own training and they felt the earth shaking around them, thinking it was an earthquake and they ran for the house.

-Moments later they were both gawking, watching you showing off your strength, chasing after your daughter, punching the ground where she was, creating craters while your daughter was giggling, easily dodging. She learned how to train by thinking everything was a game.

-You were laughing too, having fun with your daughter while the men were staring; (Love) looked impressed, seeing you showcasing your skills again and impressed with the dodging skills of your daughter.

-It was your son who was gaping, as he knew that the two of you met in Ragnarok, where you were fighting each other, and seeing how easily you were destroying the yard, moving so fast to keep up with his sister, and laughing at the same time.

-His eye lid was twitching lightly, “How the hell did you survive fighting against mama?” the two of you stopped, noticing them and you came over, bopping your son lightly on the head with the back of your hand, not hurting him in the slightest, “Language young man. How was training?”

-Your son gushed about the new techniques he was learning as (Love) kneeled as your daughter ran over, hugging her tightly as she gushed to him about the game the two of you had been playing.

-(Love) and you wouldn’t change your world for anything, this was peace for the both of you, living together with your little family.

Reverse 1999 HCs: The Kitchen

I mentioned these in passing, but I finally added them in post with more detail. Feel free to add your HCs to the buffet! Word count is 960ish so you know what you're getting into if you continue down this path of madness.

Apple tends to stay out of the kitchen unless he's looking for wine. He doesn't want to be mistaken for a tasty snack.

Regulus is banned from the kitchen but barges in anyway as the "official taste tester". She also steals from people's plates if they're left unguarded, unless it's Sotheby's. She is an exception. Vertin gets the worst of it where Regulus might lean over her shoulder and chomp down on her spoonful of food. This is the tax for sharing her premium snacks with Vertin.

As for the snack sharing, one time Regulus caught Vertin eating uncooked noodles with the seasoning packet sprinkled on top like chips as a snack. Ever since then, she gave Vertin free access to the stash of snacks in her room. There's always potato chips and Dr. Papper available to her friend.

Vertin stills occasionally eats noodles like chips because Madam Z used to do it when they were traveling together. When Smoltin caught her red-handed, Madam Z advised her not to be like her and to eat her celery sticks instead. They both knew that wasn't going to happen.

Sotheby is allowed use the kitchen with supervision. There needs to be someone there to give their opinion on her creative choices (stop her from accidentally poisoning someone).

Druvis is the head chef and Sonetto is her apprentice that does everything by the book due to her upbringing in the Foundation. For example, if they don't have the right ingredients, Sonetto believes they can't make the dish anymore. However, Druvis will teach her how to substitute things and improvise.

Sonetto is a great cook, but she operates like a robot that needs to be updated with new ideas from a programmer. All the knowledge is there, but she struggle to make her own conclusions. (This is something we see her struggle with in game but I applied it to cooking lol)

The Horror Trio have no interest in cooking, only eating. Although, Jessica and her Critter friends harvest things from the garden so Druvis can supervise/mentor in the kitchen.

Vertin can't cook per say, but she can throw together very basic meals a child could do (eggs, bacon, toast, grilled cheese, simple stuff). However, her specialty is eggs. She can cook an egg in every way possible thanks to Madam Z. The scientist told her if she learns to cook anything, let it be an egg. They're easy to cook, versatile, and a good source of protein. This is an HC but I can hear her explaining egg supremacy to Vertin. Fun fact: Eggs are a staple food in China and many Asian countries. Eat an egg for Madam Z everyone.

Vertin's also handy with a knife since it's all about technique and she's good with her hands. Before her crew, she probably ate a lot of sandwiches, Foundation MREs, and instant food (with eggs on the side).

However, one day Druvis witnessed hot bacon grease pitch onto Vertin's arm. Vertin flinched at first but continued flipping her bacon, saying, "It happens sometimes." Druvis damn near threw Vertin in the sink in her rush to run cold water over it. They didn't notice how serious Vertin's disregard for injuries were due to the lack of scars and reactions from her. Vertin doesn’t understand since it'll go away with a healing potion. This breaks Druvis's heart because even if it's healed, Vertin's putting herself through unnecessary pain since she's used to getting hurt.

That was the last time Vertin was allowed to touch a frying pan (rip her beloved eggs as collateral), but they still let her use the knife since she's adept with it. Also Vertin wants to help them because it's a way for her to spend more time with them. They couldn't chase her away after she admitted that.

There is another advantage to letting the Timekeeper help sometimes; Vertin's the only one who doesn't cry rivers when she cuts an onion. Sonetto and Sotheby are a mess when they try. Pupnetto has a sensitive nose and Sotheby is baby. Druvis keeps her deadpan face but tears will prick at her eyes.

Vertin didn't always eat her veggies as a kid and Madam Z wasn't sure how to make her eat them. It's actually Tooth Fairy who found a way to make fruits and veggies fun. Vertin now does the same for her Suitcase Family.

Imagine an elegant, celebratory dinner set up by Druvis, Sonetto, and Sotheby after a particularly tough mission. What did Vertin contribute with her knife? Sandwiches? Salads? Nope. It's this:

Fruits and veggies decorated as little critters! It's how Tooth Fairy advised Madam Z to prepare them so Smoltin would eat them. As a kid she loved it. Vertin is creative so there are many variations (she's the opposite of Sonetto who's highly skilled but lacks creativity).

They're a hit with her crew too. Even Blonney, who normally acts like a moody teenager when it comes to her true feelings, finds them adorable. After seeing the way Jessica's eyes lit up from the little display, she was inspired to try and learn too. In secret, of course.

Horropedia said they were neat, but listed a terrifying bunch of ideas for Vertin's next fruit/veggie display: monsters, eyeball, tentacles, severed fingers, a dipping sauce that looks like slime or blood...

Bonus:

Regulus: Vertin! What are you doing?

Vertin: I'm making cheese toasties (grilled cheese). Don't worry, there's no way I can burn myself.

Regulus: You're dealing with hot melted cheese. On a scale of 1 to 10, how angry do you think Sonetto and Druvis would be if I called them right now?

Daiki Aomine x fem reader

You looked down at the court from the elevated corner of the Touo academy stadium. Despite the glaring lights, the corner remained a place of partial shadow, hiding your face as you watched. It had been three years since you were last on the court- 3 long, painful years full of bitterness and yearning, so, as a general rule, you tried to avoid watching games- for the most part, all they did was remind you of what you'd lost. However, whenever you heard that one of *them* was playing, you just couldn't seem to be able to control yourself. You had to go and watch.

The generation of miracles. Once your closest friends and companions. While Teiko was known for its dominating boys' basketball team, a it was little known by most that they also had a pretty strong girls' basketball club. You'd played as a shooter for that club for the majority of your middle school career, climbing your way up to the top and taking your team with you. After practice, you'd often hung out with the boys in the gymnasium and on the way home, and, over time, you'd become good friends. At least, that was how everything had been before that wretched day near the end of your 3rd year. The day that brought your career to a grinding halt.

With the start of high school, everyone had taken separate routes and you'd lost touch with them. Even though you acted indifferent, part of you couldn't help but feel a little sad about that- you'd loved hanging out with the guys: going to town or visiting clubs with Kise, sharing Atsushi's snacks, poking fun at Midorima as he lugged around his "lucky item" for the day, discussing the season's basketball highlights with Kuroko, lounging around and talking with Aomine after school... you hadn't realised how much these moments had meant to you, how much they'd filled up your life, until they were gone. You often wondered if they felt that way too.

Generally speaking, you hated watching basketball nowadays. It was a painful reminder of what you'd lost. When you'd been asked to coach the basketball team at your school, Seirin , you'd declined without a second thought. However, it always felt different when it was one of them playing. When you watched them, you felt like you were on the court with them, moving as one. You forgot for a time.

It was no different tonight as you watched Aomine play some B-tier school during the opening bracket of the Winter Cup. He was agile as always, weaving his way in between his opponents before they even had time to react and shooting one basket after another. His own teammates barely had the chance to touch the ball. You smiled to yourself, remembering your many 1v1v matches with Aomine back in middle school. Whenever you two needed to settle anything, it'd be done on the court. You needed a favour ? sure, if you could score 10 points before him. He wanted the answers to last week's assignment ? You'd give them to him if he managed to beat you. You pretty much never beat him- you came close sometimes- but he was quick at regaining the upper hand. Despite this, you'd improved greatly thanks to your 1v1s, something that even Aomine admitted. He'd often teach you new techniques or give you advice on how to improve your form, and, though he wasn't very patient, you learned over time.

"Why are you always teaching Y/N-chin those techniques ?" Murasakibara asked him one day when you guys were eating lunch together. Aomine had gone red and averted his gaze

"Playing against her gets lame if I win all the time," he'd replied, still not looking at you.

The buzzer sounded for the end of the first quarter, the familiar sound snapping you out of your thoughts. It was time to leave now, before they had time to notice you. You couldn't face seeing them again, not yet.

Making sure no one was looking, you crept out using a side exit while the players were still ambling off of the court. Every time you finished watching one of their basketball games, you were overcome by a strong feeling of nostalgia.

You always wondered why you did this to yourself, yet somehow you could never seem to stop.

Unconsciously, you began to walk faster as the cold night breeze sliced past your skin, anxious to get out of there before the memories completely took over your mind.

How would you describe each member of Luigi's harem?

I'm going to note down the members down first so I can follow it along, both good and bad guys will be here instead of just the evil trio and this is based on my opinions. Puppy crushes will be included. We got; Daisy, Peasley, Dreambert, Bowser, King Boo, Antasma, Dimentio (I'm holding back on adding the artefacts that possessed him and give them sentience but you can't tell me they aren't literally sniffing him out through the entire population and hunting him, the Dark Prognosticus did it best) Daisy: we know her, we love her. She is the first love since Luigi got to that world. She learned of Mario through Peach and liked him when he met him but was more attracted to Luigi when they met due to his soft, shy and kind-hearted nature, loving how cute he is but also the amount of surprises he holds. Like how he matches her competitive nature in sports and taught how much more fun it is to plant flowers. And she will never say no to his cooking, she nearly tried to hire him to her kingdom so she could eat and be together with him more but she'd never dare separate him from his brother. If Luigi feels too socially drained she'll either speak for him after he whispers or gives her looks she understands or kidnap him to his place for cuddles and rest.

Peasley: Adores Luigi with all his heart, he feels so lucky to have met him and is always excited when he visits his kingdom to see him. He will boast about him to his people and close connections, letting his name be more known as well as his own heroic deeds. When Luigi does visit, he often asked about any new adventures he's been on or his life in general, smitten by much Luigi appreciates the small things in life and how perceptive he is and it slowly rubs off on him. By now, he knows the most part of Luigi's routine and has things ready for him if he can which Luigi really loves. He loves how he doesn't hide his nervousness and marches on even though he's scared, true bravery in his opinion. Despite how cute he finds it, he still tries to build up Luigi's confidence and be less anxious, trying to slowly help him step out of his comfort zone once in awhile.

Dreambert: he really looks up to both brothers and admires their strength and resilience but he's gotten closer with Luigi due to his calm nature and his basically legendary dream powers that he's only ever read or heard of before. It's stressful and tiring trying to regain and rebuild his kingdom after all these years of being a stone and loosing the Dream Stone to a bunch of coins but Luigi's help and company really calms him down and sets him in a better mood about the whole thing. Exploring the Dream World with Luigi is always so amazing to him and a lovely break from real life problems. When not doing that, they cuddle or nap together in various places and let their dreams merge which helps with Luigi's insomnia. Speaking of which, he is determined to assist Luigi with it so he can sleep normally again after so long, which Eldream and Dr. Snoozemore have joined in as they are interested in how their remedies and techniques would work on the human.

Bowser: ngl, I'm very surprised at how many things I missed between these two but noticed them after the dang movie and this ship skyrocketed. He has proven his power to Bowser plenty of times from saving Mario, battling him in the Dream World, heck Luigi was even about him when he battled O'Chunks for the last time. He has a lot of respect for Luigi and would like to challenge him more to see just what else he's capable of on his own. He also loves how much he cares for his children and tries to spend time with them when he's around, making them treats and keeping them in line when they get too rowdy. Some of his troops also show their own respect to him and try to speak with him when they have free time. He's honestly much happier and more tame when around Luigi but don't feel too safe cause he's still the same Bowser all know and love or fear.

King Boo: I made a whole post of how they are bitter exes and I'm sticking to it. This dude is egotistical, deranged, a ticking time-bomb and he has it all out for Luigi to a more dangerous level each time he's defeated. Not even Bowser got this insane, his schemes are always crazy and over the top but not the way KB does it. After yet another rewatch of LM3 I kinda put myself in Luigi's shoes and was actually terrified for him. Now at the start, KB and Luigi had a good thing going, in all honesty, but the power lust got too much and showed thr signs of insanity more clearly. I think during their relationship, Luigi may still have been afraid of the boos but he warmed up to the kinder ones and brought tons of Boo Candy for them all, those boos now feeling sad that they have to let him be tortured this way from their king but can say nothing about it. Dude needs rehab. But try to catch me not liking this toxic yaoi, cause you won't, the one who does is probably my doppelganger or an identity thief.

Antasma: this is yet another person I've made a post about under your request and have added my own shippy headcanons on. Now, this guy is all about control and careful strategy as we've seen in the game, which got amplified after his betrayal with Bowser. However, now that both stones are gone he starts to gravitate towards Luigi's dream powers who are nearly that of the Dream Stone's and has even impressed the spirit of said stone. This leads to curiosity, wanting to learn more about the plumber himself which made lead to clues on how he even has these crazy powers. Then it turns into fascination and affection. I feel like Antasma is the easiest to rehabilitate, it just needs time and care, which Luigi is capable of. But it can result in a bit of an isolation on his part since Antasma most likely doesn't want most of his enemies surrounding him. While he may turn good, doesn't mean his scary side will change, it will just be used less and in different ways for each person. This can honestly end up being the second less toxic relationship Luigi can have with a villain.

Dimentio: do you guys have any idea what this twink has put me through? Idk what curse he placed on me but ever since I paid attention to him, I've seen far too many evil, murderous, gay jesters from literally every single fandom I know like some portal of hell opened up specifically for evil jesters to come out of. Like, holy shit. Anyways, this guy has a number of crimes under his belt and a special fascination towards Luigi, since unlike the other villains, he actually wants Luigi by his side not for revenge or to drain his power but for the individual himself. At first, he was just another tool to be used, another character to the story, but then he started seeing past that dull perspective of his and realized why both the Dark Prognosticus and the Chaos Heart chose him specifically. He has lived for endless years and his ambitions have made everyone around him dull and the same, but Luigi is an enigma to him, the first interesting person in years and it increased after the defeat. He tried to get close to Mr L who didn't seem interested but he still used his opportunity to at least learn the plumber's hidden side to use it against him. He believes it's not over for the two of them, his perfect world is still waiting to be created by him and dub him its ruler. And what's a king without his queen? I can honestly say that while Luigi may fear him, he's the only villain he actively hates with a passion and won't hesitate to get physical with.

No idea if this is what you wanted but this is what I can provide. This has my own opinions and headcanons on there so take it with a grain of salt. This was honestly fun cause I'm pretty opinionated and I love talking about these freely.

— you joined korra's team some time after asami did. she noticed how you and her weren't able to hang out as much since she joined korra's team, so she invited you to tag along sometimes, which turned into you being a vital part of the team!

— whether you're an intellect who contributes via strategy planning, a chi-blocker who helps by allowing the others to use chi-blocking to render bender opponents useless for a good minute or two,a social butterfly who introduces fun into the missions by lightening up the mood during a time when the team is too serious when they can have a little fun for a bit, or an introvert who's just there because asami's there, you introduce something new into the team that they later find out, they can no longer function without (you're like the sokka of the team).

— being a vital part of the team, everyone warms up to you quickly and praise and adore you for whatever new thing you introduce into the team, esp. korra, who often praises you for it. she warms up to you faster than the others, and commends you for your achievements more.

— the others see it as korra just being reaaally eager to be friends with you. esp. after she and asami got together, she'd obviously want to get along with asami's friends and get their approval for dating their friend (because idk abt you but it gets really tricky to be with someone when their friends don't approve of, esp. if they're the type of friends to try to convince them to break up, not from experience). but when asami introduced you two formally when korra visited you two's workplace (yes, you work maybe part-time at future industries directly under asami), something just clicked between you and korra.

— you two never really interacted with one another outside of having to for missions. seeing that korra was dating your best friend, you saw fit that it'd be suitable to back off from trying to be friendly towards korra in fear of having conflict stemming from miscommunication with asami (but knowing asami, she'd probably be fine with you two talking as friends, so long as you're being honest with her about wanting to be friends).

— and so, you two never really talked and whenever you did outside of needing to for missions, it often dismissed itself quickly due to being fairly new and unfamiliar with one another outside of knowing that you are asami's best friend, and that she was asami's girlfriend. it was certainly nice to talk to korra, but it was somewhat awkward and most of it consisted of trying to get to know one another and talking about current events that have just happened. most of the time though, korra would approach you to ask for things like "what would asami like?", "would asami like this?", "what are things that asami would like?", or "i'm taking asami on a date, can you help me make sure that she would like it?".

— (please note that by now korra and asami have already broken up) now focusing on the actual topic at hand, asami was a little taken aback when korra confessed to liking her best friend, and asked for tips on how to pursue her and make her love her (korra). it had only been a few weeks since asami and korra had broken up, so it spawned some misinterpretations that korra only broke up with asami to get with you, but that was quickly disputed by a very taken aback korra.

— being the supportive best friend asami is, after getting over the initial shock and miscommunication, asami was supportive of it and is willing to be korra's wingwoman! she gave korra the best tips and was 100% going to set you and korra up... after she made sure you were comfortable with going on a date with korra, knowing she's your lifelong bestie's ex-girlfriend.

— so after she made sure you were over the hurdle of feeling strange and weird about talking to someone who once had feelings for your best friend, she started subtly urging and implying that you spend more time with korra (without cutting out you two's bestie hang outs, ofc!), and even pushing korra to make moves on you like asking you out to dinner or even just having a conversation with eye contact.

— she also starts giving korra a gentle nudge in the right direction when it comes to korra practicing how she should pursue you, or even just straight up saying it. asami gives korra the best of the best tips for how she should go about courting you, after all she has known you for literally her entire life !

— on your side, asami started making up excuses for their friends so that korra can have some time with you. if you want company while you train, she's more than happy to invite korra to tag along while she watches and helps you train, and if she's unavailable, she'll just offer another option that's she says is "arguably better than [friend you considering inviting over for company]", korra ! moreover, if you wanna be trained in a different style (perhaps you found a weak spot in your own style of self-defense in a fightz or perhaps you're just bored... up to you, really), asami is quick to offer korra !

— and just like that, you and korra grew closer than you expected. korra couldn't be happier and more thankful when she finally confessed to you (again, with a little push, convincing and setting up from your wingwoman asami), and later when you two get together.

— you and korra will need to thank asami later. but don't worry, asami feels no need to receive thanks and will support you two with undying support ! your best friend will always be on your side, and will support you until the end of time !

After she realises her true self and reawakenes, she tries to find herself new hobbies apart from those she shared with Kasumi. Sure, she can cook, but what else can she do?

Sumire first turns to her dad, asking him what he used to like at her age. Shinichi (her dad's canon name btw) tells her he and his siblings used to have a Gamecube with a few games still hanging around somewhere. And, after some weeks of scheduling a week's visit to his mother's house, they get to play a few games together!

Sumire...sucks at most of them. She's always near last on Mario Party, she struggles at Smash Bros, she likes Tloz Wind Waker & she gets the story so she's at least decent at that one.

But, you see...Animal Crossing is a whole other deal

Sumire starts playing the game a little each night, meeting the villagers, paying her loans, buying and trading items. It's a game about taking things slow, at your own pace, and there isn't any sort of technique to it. Sumire finds this relaxing and almost endearing. She has her fun with animal crossing after a day's worth of losses at other games (save when her dad let her win, which she noticed but played along with)

When the week was over, they took the GameCube home with the games. Sumire had practically completed half the game by the time they'd returned; bugs, fish, her house almost all paid, the works.

I've rambled on long enough already but she plays the game little by little each day, and she and her dad play other games whenever possible. Sumire actually learns to play and gets at least second or third as time goes on. Her dad eventually gets her an N3ds XL (likely the animal crossing one) and it's her child and she loves it and she takes it everywhere no I'm not projecting shut up ANYWAY

So TL;DR Sumire is a "make your own __" games fan and likely has 100+ hours in animal crossing and stardew and ppprobably fell for the cozy game craze at some point. Sorry not sorry

Anyways we’ll do both :) I’ll start with motionless because I know them best! This one was fun, i hope it doesn’t seem too unrealistic (I’m not super familiar with bad omens so…. Yeah anyways…)

Ricky: I genuinely believe that he would love to meet someone at a bookstore, not on purpose but complete accident. Like you both are looking for the same book or something and bump into each other, which leads to talking and then just more. Maybe this is me projecting because I’d love to meet a guy in a bookstore but yeah 😅

Vinny: I think you’d start as online friends, you wind up part of a group online he plays with and then slowly branch out to doing sessions just the two of you, eventually agreeing to meet in person to do your own little gaming session once he realizes that you live near him. It gives the two of you a fun way to bond and get to know each other without it getting too crazy all at once.

Ryan: maybe a photography workshop you’re attending, the two of you get assigned for a project together for the day and have to work closely to try new techniques and styles that neither of you typically do. Through talking and figuring it all out you realize that the two of you have a lot more similar interests and it builds as you exchange numbers to keep in touch.

Chris: 100% hockey game, the two of you wind up having tickets next to each other at a game and he can’t get over just how into it you are, that you are sitting there without a care in the world, yelling at the refs and banging on the glass, despite the fact you’re short and very underwhelming despite trying to be. The two of you talk through the game, about your favorite players, different games you’ve gone to other than this one, etc.

Justin: I want to go a little silly for this and say (because his stage makeup and everything is amazing) that you bumped into him at Sephora or the like. You’re an actress/actor at a haunted house in the area and need to go get more and both of you just bump into each other while looking for different products together, leading to a conversation of why you’re looking for a unique selection of makeup and same with him. Discovering your love of horror and related things before you both wind up wandering the mall together for a little bit.

Bad Omens:

Noah: I think it’d be cool to meet him at one of his martial arts classes, he notices something that you do that impresses him, leading to him making his way over to ask you questions about that move, and the two of you kind of branch out, you showing him how to do it and him showing you something too, and next thing you know the time is up but neither of you wants to walk away just yet.

Nicholas: Tattoo convention, you’re there to work and he’s just there to wander around, trying to learn new techniques and styles while admiring other people’s work. He walks by as you’re working on a tattoo from death note and stops, of course the client says it’s okay, and that leads to the three of you having an extensive conversation about anime, as well as him asking about a couple things you’re doing that’s different than his style. Eventually he continues on, and when he sees you’re still working on tattoos hours later he grabs a coffee as thanks for talking with him earlier in the day and brings it to you, which you appreciate… a little while later you notice there’s a phone number written on the takeout coffee cup and can’t help but smile.

Folio: you love fishing, having done it since you were a child so one day you decide you need to get a break from work and the stress of life so you head to your favorite fishing spot, a little annoyed when you notice someone else is there. You move a little ways down the river and set up, getting started. Eventually the other person makes his way down to you, asking you if you happen to have another set of hooks he could possibly buy off you, embarrassed that he forgot his tackle box full of extras. You can’t help but giggle at how bashful he’s being and just let him have one of yours, both of you starting to talk about different bait you use, other equipment that’s different between the two of you and that leads to the two of you finishing together, laughing and enjoying the calm together.

Jolly: he stops in to a musical shop to look at strings, wanting to try something different to change the tone of his playing for a song they’re working on, the two of you bumping into each other. You seem indecisive on what you want and he notices, asking what you’re looking for, giving you advice on how to change the sound you’re getting, then asking you about the music you play. You notice his accent and ask where he’s from leading to other conversations, but mostly bonding over your shared passion for guitar and song writing!

i probably wont go indepth with it tonite, but when seofon & tweyen first said they were going to see raiden & the whole 'we have to see if its a danger to the sky or not' aspect.......gran who Gets it, but also as someone who Was seen as an enemy of the sky i think they immediately feels very defensive about it....? on a personal level...? when its someone they hung out with before...? they wont discredit the suspicion seeing the circumstances + its the eternals, but.... did like wilnas telling raiden than him dying wouldnt solve anything, cuz tameemon would just possess his body or whatever instead.

Can you tell us more about this au you mentioned?

I WOULD BE HAPPY TO!!! i've always been obsessed with bakugan since literally the single digits (i'm talking kindergarten bro) and i always end up reliving that hyperfixation every year. Naturally, the characters grew up with me, and so i've made a new storyline for who are essentially new characters.

so. mikhail gehabich, a elusive physicist and scientist in russia start getting readings of tears between Earth and a whole new dimension. at the same time, marucho at the fresh age of 14 also discover this, and the two of them get in touch to discuss this strange phenomenon. in an attempt to collect this strange energy emanating from the tears and study it, marucho created a computer system to visualize it. to both nerds' surprise, it turns out that the power was "packed with incredible power from another world" and marucho realizes that the complexity of the energy lends itself well to a card battling anime.

mikhail, who usually has a hard time finding funding or support for his esoteric findings, was suddenly able to study this groundbreaking discovery of a whole 'nother dimension with what seems like real, sentient (?) creatures. he doesn't give a shit about gamers lmao. as such, the two of them work together to decipher and understand the rules of this energy. after several months of work, marucho is ready to release a closed beta. Since it's basically a passion project, he feels weird asking his parents for advertising, so most of the preliminary testing were employees of the marukura conglomerate. afterwards, marucho extended an invitation to the general public as well. for some reason, the dimensional strain is strongest in [SOME RANDOM CITY] in japan, and...arizona? in the depths of the grand canyon? also other places. idk haven't thought about that yet.

since marucho was super sheltered, he posted in kinda obscure game forums to get the word out but lucky him! dan kuso is also a gamer nerd and he frequents those communities often. roping shun with him, the two of them excitedly learn the strategies and techniques in this well fleshed out game (strangely intricate, there's no way a 15 year old planned this all out, right?). Other japanese people also join in, but surprisingly, marucho allows an american (julie, who was on super niche sites to practice jp) to join the server and they also bond.

there are more people in the beta, of course, but shun is the one who really understood the way the game was meant to be played, and by the time marucho asked his parents for support in an international release (which they happily provided him because they see him coming out of his shell), shun climbs the leaderboards startlingly fast and stays there. after a couple months though, he seems to have quit and starts losing places. weird.

meanwhile, the dimensional energies seem to be getting stronger, and the rips seem to be getting bigger. the day of international release, mikhail goes radio silent. he's disappeared. enter: alice. she obviously notices this and, knowing that he's been studying this mysterious energy with some guy in japan, flies in to see if marucho has any idea what happened to him. coincidentally, that is when masquerade enters japanese servers. weird!

that's the basic premise of the story. i got a lot of small detailed planned out, like how alice's first few days in japan is like, how she meets runo who introduces her to the rest of the team blah blah

i'm actually really happy someone asked this, because i kinda had this thing festering in my head for almost a year now, and i have yet to write any of it down. thinking about writing about it is much more fun than actually writing about it T^T

Happy STS! I'm curious about Shattered Dreams, since I still don't know too much about it and you say it's your first major piece of writing! How would you say it differs from Hidden Depths, and how is it similar? Is there anything you learned in the course of writing and posting Hidden Depths that's informing the other WIP as you now revise/edit/continue writing? Anything you're enjoying more, or enjoying less? Anything else interesting you can tell us?

Oooh, what a fun question! First off, I'm not sure if you've seen my WIP intro, but if not, there it is :)

Okay, this is long, so under the cut it goes lol

Differences and Similarities

So Hidden Depths is set in the same world of Shattered Dreams, approximately 5-ish years prior to the events in the novel. I use the same third person, character-centric style of writing, I've centered my story around two characters, which seems to be a sweet spot for me, and it's still essentially a love story at its core. They are both captivity stories that deal heavily with trauma and recovery from trauma.

Shattered Dreams differs in that I had the time and space for a lot more worldbuilding and complex plotting than I did in Hidden Depths. Now, did I do it well? Meh, going through on this editing pass, I'm noticing more info-dumping than I'd like, so I'm cleaning that up.

Hidden Depths I didn't have that kind of time for. Maybe if I'd started writing more than 3 days before the start of the event, but uh. I didn't. So I started in media res, which I actually ended up liking quite a bit, and I learned a new writing technique!

It also differs in that with Shattered Dreams, I was trying to write the kind of love story I wished I was capable of and where physical affection was important and sought after (I literally made physical touch a basic need for an entire species-they can't go too long without or they'll go crazy lol).

Whereas with Hidden Depths, I wrote the kind of love story more true to my recently discovered aroace-self. It's still an idealization, of course, with an over exaggeration of certain characteristics, but it's been really nice and somewhat cathartic to write.

Learning

Ahh, the learning. Well, the more you write, the better you get, right? So there was that. I could tell writing Hidden Depths that I'd improved beyond what I'd written in Shattered Dreams, which was a really cool thing for me. It made me feel really proud. (and kinda embarrassed when I reread Shattered Dreams bc I'd sent it out for beta 😅)

I definitely learned a lot more about whump writing, and you can bet that I'm using that in my edits to flesh out scenes that were rather vague (or create new ones all together!) bc I was either afraid of the response or just didn't have the depth of knowledge to really do it justice.

I learned that just because I can write explicit sexy time scenes doesn't mean I have to :D especially if they already made me uncomfy to start. Basically I toned them down, because I didn't hold anything back the first go around lol. Maybe they can be bonus scenes so all my hard work doesn't go to waste XD

Just by being here on tumblr, I've learned a lot more about queer and disabled representation, which is not something that I had a lot of exposure to before. I am definitely going to implementing some of that knowledge in Shattered Dreams if I can!

Interesting stuff

Ummm. This has gotten pretty long already lol. Let's see... Alaia and Serin, the two main protagonists, were never meant to be together; he was just a side character I made bc captivity with one character is boring as hell. Well, that went to shit, he ended up as a POV character, and now has an entire character arc I have to write lol. The way these things happen, huh lol.

Omfg it took me 84 years to do it, but I’m finally caught up with work stuff again! \o/

Does this mean my work induced burnout is over? GOD I HOPE SO.

Shit has been hanging over me like the sword of Damocles for weeks now.

Doesn’t help many of my internal and external customers are needy af (*narrows eyes at one external customer in particular*), but hopefully now that we’re moving into June this means our whole team can actually breathe again.

I love the holiday season as much as the next person, but I do not love all the work at the end of the year getting shoved to the beginning of the new one. It makes February thru May/June a NIGHTMARE.

Nightmare as in most of my coworkers are having public mental breakdowns instead of our usual private ones! Yay!

Fffff maybe I’ll actually have the bandwidth and brainpower to start taking Korean classes again. I haven’t been able to since the end of last year. T_T I miss them and I know for a fact I’m getting rusty.

Of course I gotta see if I can balance Korean and piano lessons without my brain going into a nuclear meltdown…

I always want my personal bandwidth to be at 200% but in reality it’s probably 65% at best. Is it the ADHD? Is it the OCD? Or is it a secret third option?! Maybe now I’m not in mental survival mode, I can explore all that with my therapist in our upcoming sessions instead of spending them all trying to figure out how to actually function due to extreme work burnout! Yay!

Ngl I’m also kind of hoping if my doctor can figure out wtf is going on with my liver, it might magically give me more energy and solve a lot of other issues. Got the ultrasound yesterday for it and am waiting for the results now. I’m very curious to learn what’s going on, especially since this kind of thing can have to do with connective tissue disorders.

My mom was told when she got her bloodwork done for her RA that it looked like she might have a connective tissue disorder too, though I don’t think that was ever further explored. I’m hypermobile and have wondered about EDS, but have never gotten officially tested for it. Thankfully my hypermobility isn’t excruciating or anything. I just tend to hyperextension that I don’t notice until I move and realize I fucked up lol.

Of course it could also just be regular ol’ inflammation that can be fixed with diet changes and exercise. Just gotta wait and see.

It’s possible the liver thing could be contributing to my never-ending fatigue. It’s also possible my super fun OCD spirals add to it too. lol my old therapist told me my spirals were “exhausting to hear about.” She didn’t mean it in a bad way! Just that she could only imagine how they were to actually experience as a result.

It’s wild seeing an OCD specialist now. My old therapist was fantastic but she didn’t specialize in OCD. New therapist (new-ish) is just able to map this shit out for me and it’s wonderful. OCD often masquerades as intense anxiety and some anxiety management tips and tricks do help it, but damn if seeing a specialist isn’t like night and day. My old therapist taught me some defusion techniques, but now I’m doing a mix of exposure therapy but mostly Inference-Based CBT which are both tailored specifically to OCD and it’s been so helpful. My brain is definitely broken but it feels a hell of a lot less broken now and a lot less scary.

My therapist also let me know there’s specific therapy that addresses OCD and autism together, so that’s something we’re gonna explore too. I don’t have an official diagnosis for autism but my therapist is pretty confident about it. She doesn’t specialize in it but she’s been helping me navigate the possibility. ADHD, OCD, and autism have massive overlap which makes it really fucking hard to separate the three. OCD and autism are really frequently misdiagnosed for one another too because of it. I def have the ADHD and OCD tho, diagnoses courtesy of specialists in both fields.

God I have been so fucking blessed to have amazing doctors and therapists who actually listen to me and take my concerns seriously. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had ABSOLUTE DOGSHIT ones too, but those were years ago when I wasn’t as good at advocating for myself. I know there’s a healthy dose of privilege thrown in there too on my end, but god I feel so fucking lucky.

Maybe it’s too much caffeine or finally being caught up on work but I don’t feel completely fucking exhausted for the first time in like a month or two. I’m not gonna go start running laps or anything, but it’s so nice to feel like my brain isn’t mashed potatoes at the end of the day for once. Yaaaay!

Bria was practicing making mouth noises while she waited for Chester, Mike, and Joe. They stepped out to give her privacy while she took a shower. Her speech therapist was going to gradually introduce new techniques to help her brain learn how to speak again. The first step was simulating the part of the brain that controlled speech.

Then, they would work on introducing simple everyday words. Cat, dog, yes and no. Once she mastered that, they would move on to something a little more complicated. It was like riding a bike. Her brain just had to remember how to steer. When they came back in, she smiled at them. They noticed her hair was shiny and clean. She put her hand on her still-damp hair. They laughed as they sat down. What was she doing when they walked in?

“Ba… ba… ba…”

“Oh, you’re practicing. Good for you. Pretty soon you’ll be calling us assholes again”, Joe joked.

Chester and Mike laughed. They missed that joking around. She was in a good mood, as usual. The sun was out and it was coming through her window. She was in her wheelchair with her bear on her bed. He was waiting patiently for her to return. Chester got up and went over to him. He picked him up and brought him over. She had forgotten where he was! Now, she was happy to have him back.

She smiled at him as if to thank him. You’re welcome. That bear meant a lot to her. He provided reassurance and comfort to her when she needed him the most. They could see her putting him somewhere where the cats couldn’t get to him. Maybe she would put him in her studio. Joe brought a book bag with him. She looked at it in curiosity. He opened it up and pulled out a portable boombox and a CD. After finding an outlet, he plugged it in.

What are you doing? He put the CD in before hitting play. It was Bria’s first album. He made sure the volume wasn’t too loud. They listened to it while waiting to see what she would do. She hummed along to the music. If she could, she would be singing.

“I read online about music helping repair cognitive functions in people with brain damage.”

“Mr. Hahn, you’re a genius”, Chester said.

“That’s what they call me.”

“What? A genius”, Mike asked.

“No, Mr. Hahn.”

They laughed at his joke before going back to listening to the music. Mike remembered the endless hours working on the album with her and Bradford. They got really creative in creating different sounds. It was a lot of fun because they all worked together. That seemed like forever ago. A lifetime. They were all younger and they had no idea where their lives were going.

They didn’t know that she would win a Grammy for Best New Artist or that she would perform for Céline Dion. It was weird how much their lives changed. He wished he could go back to that time because everything seemed simpler.

If he could, he would tell his younger self to enjoy it. At the same time, he didn’t regret the journey he was on. Some times were harder than others. He had to admit that, especially concerning her mental and physical health. But then there were moments like going to Dubai he wouldn’t give up for anything. He took in the moment in front of him because one day, he would want it back.

Smiley was Bria’s nickname given to her by the nurses. Everyone thought it fit her perfectly. They knew that when they entered her room, they would be greeted by a smile. They all looked forward to seeing it. She made their jobs a lot easier. A new nurse was shadowing, so she was introduced to her. She looked at her in curiosity before looking at Bradford. He told her it was okay. She listened as the nurses went through everything and she let them check her vitals.

Her chart showed her being nonverbal, so they were aware she wouldn’t be able to tell them if she was feeling any pain or discomfort. They had to read her body language to determine what she was feeling or needing. They all knew she loved sitting by the window, especially when it was sunny outside. She did have her moments when she wasn’t doing well.

Those were to be expected. They took her vitals while she sat in her wheelchair because it was easier than having her get back into bed. When they were finished, she offered her hand. The nurse took it. She told her they would be back to check on her later. She smiled at them. Bradford thanked them. He then sat back down in a chair. Ba… ba… ba. He repeated what she said. She was doing a great job practicing talking. Before they knew it, she would be talking like she used to.

Mike reported that he, Chester, and Joe had fun visiting her the previous day. Chester and Joe took turns making her laugh. Joe had an idea of introducing music to help repair cognitive functions in her brain. He brought his boom box and played her first album. She hummed along with the music. They would have to ask her doctor about it when he made his rounds.

It seemed like something to look into. It didn’t have to be her music, they could listen to Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, Céline Dion, or whatever else she was interested in. The Backstreet Boys? Mike thought she mentioned once she listened to them. Maybe she had their CD at her place.

Bradford brought a book with pictures of different animals. Yeah, it was for young children but he thought she would be interested in looking at the pictures. She was. The book had pictures of different animals with their names and different facts about them. She recognized cats and dogs. Yeah, he told her she had two cats and two dogs. She smiled as she seemed to suddenly remember that.

Meow. She laughed, making him laugh too. Their names were Buddy, Missy, Woody and Anya. She nodded. Did she remember them? She nodded again. He let her know that they were with Phoenix and Linsey. Don’t worry. They would give them back. She laughed at his joke. They continued going through the book. When they got to a picture of spiders, she quickly turned her head and scrunched her nose. Did she not like spiders? She shook her head. Okay, he covered the picture with his hand.

There. They were the only insects she didn’t like. There was just something about them. It was a common fear. Not everyone liked spiders. She smiled at the other pictures of rabbits, cows, butterflies, pigs, birds and other animals. Her hand went over the picture of rabbits, as if she was trying to feel their fur through the page. Ba… ba… ba. He laughed.

Development log 5

Overall I have enjoyed and completed my game. I am very happy I have completed all the tasks and all I need to do now is go back into the discussion board see the feedback and can edit it as needed. I played all of my other classmates' games and had so much fun and learned a lot.

How was the jam overall? What were your biggest challenges, and how did you meet them?

The jam went very well and I had a lot of fun. Some of the biggest challenges for me were really understanding the game process and learning how to do everything. I faced them by asking questions.

What are you most proud of about your prototype?

Something that I was most proud of was proud of from my prototype was doing the enter and exits and also how all the dialog worked together. But over all I am super poud of the whole game. I have never done anything like this before and it was my first time using bitsey and itch.io and just making a game. I had douts but I feel it came out well.

Based on your engine, what did you learn about balancing narrative (story) and mechanics (function)? How might you apply this in other areas of your life, not necessarily in terms of building a game?

Using Bitsey, my game style spa, I've picked up important insights regarding the fine line that separates mechanics from the story. Bitsey showed me that the narrative of the story must flow from the practical elements then mechanics to create an immersive experience. This idea applies to many facets of life and goes beyond game creation. Bitsey also emphasized the need for project management. In the same way that I methodically arranged the elements of my game, I balance between storylines and gameplay features, I've used this in my life now to develop techniques to oversee initiatives in business, education, and personal pursuits.

If you were going to make another level of your game, how might you implement the feedback? - if I were going to make another level I would Take player input into account by adding more challenging level designs, providing new interactive features, and improving the way the story is integrated. Adapt difficulty curves in response to comments to guarantee a gratifying advancement. To keep players interested, include a variety of gaming techniques. Iterate continuously to improve the whole experience based on user feedback.

What did you use from your portfolio and what got left out? Why?

-With the exception of a few objects and the textual artifacts, I mostly used anything from my portfolio. Although there was no primary cause, I would include it if I were to extend the game..

What did you notice about narrative while playing other students' games? - When playing games created by other students, I saw firsthand how story can attract players and increase engagement. Strong narratives improved immersion and enhanced gameplay experiences.

Which game was your favorite and why? - my favorite game that I played was love you to hell and back. I thought it was fun and made me think and I liked how I could dir and it restarts you.

Were there any patterns in the feedback you got? - Some of the patterns that I got from my feedback was that my game ws stright foward and easy to play and that I should make the first step more direct.

Were there any surprises, either in the jam and building your game, or in your feedback? - There were not that many surprises but I enjoyed this game jam and had a lot of fun

Delusional Monthly Magazine Episode 12 Review + Final Thoughts - History Repeats Itself

While this anime never really takes itself seriously, the fact that they’re faced with the eradication of humanity and a time limit makes it rather serious, a rather intense way for the finale. The only way to stop it is to repeat what had happened with the Mo Continent in the past—destroy it and have it sink to the ocean once again. However, Jiro’s past self’s father never explained how it was sunk, so it’s up to Goro, on the verge of disappearing, to decipher everything that’s explained in a tablet that happens to show up conveniently.

The way things got intense once Edward injures himself critically after getting out a gun in attempt to shoot Jiro. Wow, this dude has a gun. Taro knocks out Edward to protect Jiro and he hits his back against a column, getting himself critically injured. This is when Catherine and the twins start fighting against the other Motarians in order to stall time for Goro to decipher the tablet. The secret technique the twins learned is revealed to be fusion and they change into a panda! They look like Po wearing a wig. Catherine fights Jiro in retaliation of Edward being hurt. They never really explained the dark aura around Catherine and the sudden power-up for Taro.

I’ve got two gripes. First, Saburo just standing and not doing anything of importance until the whole continent starts crumbling was a bit iffy on my part. He was mainly there to give clues to Goro about the way to destroy the continent wth his song and then transforming into his true form: an ancient bird. Second, while eradication of humanity was presented as severe and intense with Goro and Edward slowly vanishing, we don’t see how other people outside of the continent are reacting towards it or if its affecting them at all. On top of that, Catherine doesn’t really get true punishment for her actions; I guess Edward almost dying was her “punishment” in a way.

The ending is relatively an emotional whiplash after the intense final battle. The Monthly Moso Science magazine, originally on indefinite hiatus, is now renewed with Goro as editor-in-chief as requested by Catherine. Catherine is implied to have finally gotten together with Edward after working together with him for fifteen years (they’re 29 and 34—five year age difference) and now works as a scientist for White Pegasus where they both hold a press conference declaring the discovery of four lost continents in addition to the Mo Continent, they were a part of the M-Continents, apparently. Because of this, Goro and Jiro can’t wait to pursue new mysteries with Taro tagging along once again. The twist is sudden, but it does feel like a good ending as this is an anime about pursuing mysterious happenings. They don’t have to worry about their Motarian selves anymore since they all lost the ability to transform now that the continent sank once again.

Final Thoughts

I’ve seen people online say that they dropped this anime because it’s silly or not to their tastes. Well, everyone’s got different opinions. To me, this was a decent anime. It’s not amazing but it’s not terrible either. It’s somewhere in the middle. However, what I did notice is that the anime never really takes itself seriously until the last three episodes. I think having that one anime you just want to watch for fun without thinking too much about it is necessary. For me, this is said anime.

All the characters are pretty simplistic and one note, which isn’t bad. Taro is lazy and wants to be a househusband to mooch off of his future wife. Jiro is a sassy kid. Saburo is a dog. Goro is energetic and is basically the driving force of the plot. There’s nothing too remarkable about them as characters, other than three of them being able to transform into Motarians. Though, I did like seeing them go on their Motarian misadventures. The villains were a bit lackluster for my taste. Edward didn’t do much until the last two episodes. The twins were either goofy versions of Team Rocket, or surprisingly competent when the plot needs them to. Catherine as a twist villain was a bit obvious, but I did like how it was executed; I just wished she didn’t backpedaled so suddenly after pointing out that eradicating humanity would mean she would lose Edward. I think the characters that shined the most were the minor characters that showed up once an episode and needed a problem fixed. They were great. I quite liked episode 5 with the figure skater and the crazy dogs from episode 8.

The music was nice to listen to. I really liked how upbeat the soundtrack can be. I liked both opening and ending songs and also liked the fact that the voice actors mainly sang them. The ending actually changes once Episode 9 reveals Catherine’s Motarian form. The ending shows the characters in their human forms and then in their Motarian forms. I think that was a nice change.

The voice acting is the best thing about this anime. While a few are still small named, they did a great job with their performances. I think having a mix of veterans, rookies and rising stars makes for a very interesting combination. A lot of the voice actors in this anime participated in Boueibu in the past. I think they knew how to handle crazy plots because Boueibu was a crazy show that didn’t take itself seriously. What I liked most were the guest voice actors. You wouldn’t expect high profile voice actors to voice minor characters of the week. They all did a wonderful job trying new things. For example, Katsuyuki Konishi sang, which he rarely does, in episode 3. Hiro Shimono voiced another in episode 6. Nobuhiko Okamoto voiced a reserved figure skater who suddenly went ham. Having such talents as well as the main leads really show why voice acting is important for anime.

Overall, this is an anime I wouldn’t recommend because of how silly the plot is. It’s mainly something to watch when you’re absolutely bored. If you have watched the show from start to finish, what are your thoughts?
