i forgot that i had my mother bring over the OG boy tits (bottom) the other day so i could do a comparison between them and the newer ones. Like, the og were made in 2hrs from scraps as a joke, but i didn't expect the difference between them and the new ones to be so drastic.

The biggest difference is the face i think. The og pair has one piece of glass to be both of the birds faces, while the other uses 2, with the features being soldered on instead of just painted on with enamel.

like the new ones are over all much cleaner even if i still have Issues with them bc i made them without using a grinder just to prove you Could do SG without one, but I'm still proud of them. Like, I'm proud of all 4 of my sons, but the younger 2 are my favorites (don't tell their brothers)

The difficult thing about openly blogging about healing and going through a long period of growth publicly is the feeling of “I’m not doing super great, and it’s worse than it has been before” springs to mind, but for the X number of times you’ve said it in the past, it feels more trivial. And maybe that’s a sign that things have always been an up and down sort of pattern, and that it will pass again, but maybe it also serves to feel more isolating in not having the words or energy anymore to describe how it is *this* time. And it is a position that changes day to day, and on better days it feels more passable, and on worse the void feels more vast. The mere fact that it changes is probably a good sign, that nothing ever has to be set in stone. But boy are some days so, so dreadful.

listening to an audiobook of a book I'd loved as a kid, and... it's way more racist than I remembered. In a couple different ways... stuff I hadn't noticed before, the way the author (who is the reader) does the voices, and... it's a different edition, which I first noticed by the fact that a few measurements were in centimeters rather than inches, and a character’s name is different. But as I continued, there's a bunch of sentences scattered through the book which just weren't there in the version I've read before. (and one line which I was used to that this edition lacks.) And a lot of these additional sentences... make the book more racist.

I have to wonder, was this the work of a localizer? In addition to changing the measurements to be more easily understood by an american reader, did they purposely trim off or modify racist lines?

I'm not sure I'm going to finish listening, honestly

Nico's Italian right? So if he were to naturally swear it would most definitely be in italian. But he's also from the 1930s/40s so he wouldnt swear, he was raised better than that.

But Will is a country boy (even if Austin, Texas isn't very country (or so I've heard, I'm British, I have no idea), Naomi is and you can't tell me other wise) and has lived in camp with little to no adult guidance for ages. Sooo he should have a very potty mouth.

So while Will cusses like a sailor, you have his boyfriend saying 'fiddle sticks' in italian.

Unrelated note: Did you know that the italian equivalent of by golly/by Jove is giurabbacco which, I kid you not, literally translates to 'I swear by Bacchus'.
