YES I DO THINK. i hc that skully has their own rlly weird music taste however if you play a song one of the many loved they would feel feelings abt it. if you throw a bass at them they could pluck out something.

#in my mind and in the silly little au i have music means a LOT to every character #the human brain will forget so so much before it forgets music #like ppl w rlly bad dementia can still play piano but not remember family members #and since MH (and especially tim) has a lot to do with memories #and also since tim is THE music guy #its definitely a feature of my silly au #tim remembers brians old stuff he liked and also discovers jays burned cds and kinda. unlocks some memories there. some feelings too #even alex's taste made an impression on him #plus like. some of the old stuff's lyrics might ring true for him now #one of the main songs i think of when ruminating on the skully and tim part of the au is rlly ironic #its a song considered very strange but catchy #definitely NOT outwardly emotional or thought provoking at its base but #i MAY reveal it.. maybe

i didn't think i cared much for n's final battle theme bc i'm a sucker for melodically strong pieces aka certified bangers. but i must say it does a good job at making you uncomfortable when you really listen to the details. it's got tritones, clock ticking sounds, heartbeats, fire and lighting sound effects for reshiram and zekrom, up and down flights, ominous choir, plenty of dissonance. i woke up in a cold sweat at like 5am today with it hauntingly stuck in my head for some reason and that makes it deserving of my respect

#i would have preferred something more melodic to go with the theme of his heroic and pure heart. and his name #but it does a good job at being like hey there really is something genuinely wrong with this man #it sure sounds.. unnatural.......#he is undoubtedly human and full of love and justice. but he's also broken and misguided #he's barely had any real human interactions in his life and has like no social skills #he has at least one confirmed supernatural power in being able to speak to pokémon #apparently the ticking clocks were supposed to represent the ability to see into the past/future that got scrapped?#but i feel like that's still at least partially canon bc he does mention something like that #the ticking clocks and heartbeats at once are so unsettling. like a duality between machine and human #he's a human being who's been raised to be. less than that. treated as a pawn #obsessed with precise calculations. literally called a 'freak without a human heart'#alternatively it could be meant to represent like hey here's him breaking down and losing it #he already knows he's wrong but can't let go of it yet #they could've included the theme of mechanical calculations but still included a solid melody for his true heart #but his true heart is clouded at that point #man i love blorbo #i need to study him #pokémon #and see. ghetsis' battle theme similarly is dissonant and ominous rather than catchy #so maybe n's thing is that since he's doing all this as ghetsis' puppet #but also like ghetsis' is way more simple and n's is frantic and chaotic #to show how ghetsis is pretty much just pure evil and self-absorbed (the man has choir chanting his name!!!)#but n is conflicted and troubled inside and doesn't even know who he is anymore #natural harmonia more like. unnatural disharmonia #(is 'gropius' also a music thing i genuinely don't know)#bw

Wanted to relax a little this evening, and my go-to game for that is Death Stranding. Did some deliveries today, and first time ever in my playthrough saw more than one structure in a row that deteriorated to unusable state... Guess the game is older and less people are playing so some structures are breaking down little by little. It's surprisingly sad, but also not really, this is a postapocalypse setting after all. This is what the characters of the game are constantly feeling - the slow but very visible passage of time around them. Or not so slow, not so slow at all...

Anyway, great walking simulator, had fun, got a little closer to that platinum

lately when im talkin about a media i hate (usually due to the creator) I have to ask myself "Do I actually dislike (insert thing) in the media, or would I have felt differently and enjoyed it if it was present in a DIFFERENT media" and if that answer is yes I do think this would have been fire in another project- then I have to find out what I actually dislike and put it into words. Examine my feelings/biases, etc. It helps exercise my ability to be critical without being seen as unfair.

#idk if any of that made sense #an example I can give is my reaction to 'Loser Baby' song #My kneejerk reaction was to hate it but after sitting down i came to the conclusion had this song been anywhere else #i would have loved it #good song. catchy. i am a fan of media who call out that idea of how society sorta expects people to be like '#'noooo thats SO not true!' but it turns out cutting the bullshit and admitting 'no dude you suck i suck this all sucks'#'and thats OKAY! you arent alone but you gotta drop the self loathing and do better'#good message. its empowering and sometimes more comforting #but because of...where it came from...the /context/... i dont like it. and also badly misplaced in tone and lead up to it
