hey real quick bc i haven't seen anyone really talk about it; fuck Hoarders. what a disgusting fucking show. like i know a lotta content boils down to "let's gawk at mentally ill or poor or whatever ppl" but this one specifically really peels my paint. it's sickening. let's spend an hour walking around someone's house and going "wow!! look how fucked this is!!! i can't believe you live like this (despite having done like 13 seasons of this)!!!! you really need to get your act together, buster!" and then interviewing the family to get sound bites demonstrating how much of an Unreasonable Burden the subject is and (without actually helping any of the mental health issues that may lead someone to hoard) roll their eyes at them when they are upset at someone taking and trashing/destroying their precious belongings (or are made to do it themselves). and then half the time in the where are they now segment it's like "yeah they relapsed lol idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" like??? no shit dumbass.
i don't care how strange their homes or habits are. these people are deserving of compassion and real, honest help. they don't need people to marvel at how Kooky Wacky Bonkers™ they are, and they don't need people to hurt them just because they don't understand what they see in their possessions or are embarrassed by knowing them or whatever.
we don't need another voyeuristic savior-complex charade where the condition for The Most Half-Assed Help You've Ever Seen is being publicly humiliated and having to destroy things that mean a lot to you. what the fuck.
#a lotta these situations involve actual danger for the subject or their dependents so like getting rid of stuff is sometimes necessary#but just taking the rug out from under them without additional support isnt gonna help anyone longterm#and mocking them on national television certainly isnt either#like if someone's keeping dead cats in their freezer i feel like there are more constructive ways of dealing with that than 'lol' or#'youre a disgusting freak and we're gonna display that to everyone and also not help you fuck you etc'#like. god.#im not arguing the subjects are all saints or whatever either btw but they deserve to be treated like human beings#like?? forcing someone to destroy or throw out most of their posessions and mocking them for being emotional about it is cruel#it's no less cruel just because you dont get why theyre attached to those things#maybe it's even ESPECIALLY cruel because of the nature of hoarding#it's so dehumanizing#and idc if some of the subjects have been helped by being on hoarders. ppl could just help w/o mocking them and they could do a better job#if the show helps ppl it's on accident. the purpose is to watch and revel in it. in how stubborn and deluded people can be. in how much#better we are than them. in how just the hosts' disregard for their feelings is. etc. fucking repulsive#it's a dr phil situation imo#anyway my parents used to watch it a few years back and it's always bothered me that their chill sunday entertainment was. this shit.#and the subjects' faces when they see the cleared out house is almost always so.. strained.#i think it's a part of a broader problem with this kinda content and its fetishization of the reality check#to them the feelings of the deluded person don't matter because they annoy or inconvenience their peers#hence the 'i can't believe you care about this garbage' mentality of the show. even if that care comes from illness those feelings are real#so to force them through step 8 of a recovery process before steps 1-7 and then insult them for not recovering is just. god.#i hate it i hate it so much

i believe the ultimate undoing of jaskier and radovid's relationship will have to do with the current situation at the redanian court. some *book spoilers* ahead, i guess
dijkstra & philippa have already expressed how vizimir is hard to keep in line, so he's either already been regicided the night of the thanedd ball or he's soon to be. two other things to consider:
hedwig, having been beheaded earlier, will no longer be there to play queen regent;
and her and vizimir didn't have any heirs (vizimir literally said she was 'as barren as the korath [desert]' during the eulogy sdlkdjsldjf i hate it here)
so, that leaves us with an obvious: who's up next for the redanian throne? that's right, it's the resident prince-fanboy
i suppose, sigi & phil think he'll be easier to control (through fear if nothing else, after all, he saw first-hand what they're capable of), but nonetheless, imo, the main crux of the discord between jaskier and radovid will inherently lie in radovid's new position
TL;DR it's very possible jask might wake up to have fucked not just a prince, but a king now, which, y'know, slightly complicates stuff :^)

ok for angst then: do you think roy ever unintentionally scares jamie? bc as much as roy ISN'T james tartt, he is an older man with anger issues, a history of violence, who is constantly telling jamie what to do / how to play. and i say unintentionally not only on roy's behalf but also because jamie DOES trust roy so so so much, IMO, but his body's reactions might not always listen. how do you think they'd deal with that situation?
Ooh great question. Going to try to express myself as best I can here because I know this is a hotly contested topic
Personally, I don't think Roy reminds Jamie of James very much if at all. There are superficial similarities, but Jamie's relationship with Roy is so different from his relationship with his father that I don't get the impression that he sees them as analogous in any way.
For one thing, Jamie does what James tells him to do because he's "fucking terrified" (as he says in Mom City) of him, which makes sense, because grew up knowing that he'd be assaulted if he didn't do what James told him to do. Jamie's obviously not scared of Roy - he spends the entire first season disrespecting his authority as captain, calling him names, and starting physical fights with him, which he wouldn't do if he saw Roy as a threat. His devotion to Roy comes from a place of respect rather than fear, which creates a completely different dynamic than the one he has with his father. Jamie knows that Roy is very talented, very experienced, and has his best interests at heart (unlike James), and he freely agrees to let Roy train him on the basis that he believes Roy legitimately has something to offer him. He describes Roy telling him what to do/how to play as "motivating" and "encouraging" because it's something he actually wants and benefits from
Wrt the yelling, I don't think it really bothers Jamie all that much in the context of the workplace. There's a scene in the locker room where Roy is cussing everybody out at the top of his lungs and Jamie is standing right behind him laughing lol (and ik people think that was a character break but Phil says it was scripted and I Believe him). Jamie's spent his whole life in men's sports, and I'm sure he's plenty used to being yelled at by coaches. The only time Jamie has a visceral reaction to yelling is when Ted is telling him off about practice in Two Aces, and I think that's because he sees Ted as a father figure on a personal level in season 1
HOWEVER Jamie almost definitely has c-ptsd, and I think Roy has certain habits that could trigger him in some situations. For example, there's a scene in "headspace" where Roy and Keeley are fighting and he storms out of the room, shouts "FUCK," and slams something (which James does in "the hope that kills you"). I think that's the kind of thing that would be problematic in a relationship with Jamie moreso than the training stuff
The best option would be for Roy to talk to Dr. Fieldstone about it, and I think at the point the s3 finale left off, that's exactly what he would do. He'd probably feel incredibly guilty and I think he's at a point where that would drive him to commit to finding better coping mechanisms.
They'd also have to have a conversation about it of course. Set boundaries. "I love you but you cannot walk around here slamming doors and breaking shit that isn't okay with me" etc

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.//Walk with the wise and you grow wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't follow the breakdown of any BRF marriages...plus I'm an American so what do I really know? I just don't understand the Fergie situation.
Here are some thoughts, I'd appreciate hearing how this community feels.
Fergie was the 1st to sell her soul at the altar of Noprah Winfrey and then to NOprah's business partners: Rosie O'Donnell, Susie, Dr Phil, etc.
IMO Fergie did trash the BRF with her never ending complaints about Christmas invitations (never revealing that she stayed overnight a few miles away from the house on Christmas day) & her endless complaints about The Cambridge's Wedding invitation.
Seems both Fergie & Andrew sold their souls & stories to the American media/merchants & so-called "financiers."
We have a fairly recent photo of Fergie & Eugenie with Ron Burkle. 🤢
Then there's Eugenie who is still willing to socialize with the likes of Markus Anderson. 😳🤢
The York's seem to come with Buyer Beware Stickers bc they make unwise friendship/relationship decisions.
I hope Edo is the exception because I really like him and I like him with Beatrice.
Diana called herself "thick" but she accurately sussed out NOprah Winfrey and was right to stay away from her.
NOprah's obvious disdain for Queen Elizabeth was apparent in her tone as she recounted her curtsy and also in discussions with Fergie about "the biggest game."
Perhaps NOprah's quest to bring down the monarchy is rooted in hurt feelings over Diana's rejection? NOprah doesn't like rejection, particularly from Caucasian people.
Sparry was questioned about NOprah's invitation to his wedding and replied, "NOprah is a friend." Sadly, he hasn't done the real work to get to know his mother.
NOprah and her fake "no one would ever believe it" attitude over FREE LODGING at Nottingham Cottage when Fergie had previously described her "simple" living quarters at Buckingham Palace.
NOprah scolded the British people (via twatter) for "wasting money" during the Queen's Jubilee.
NOprah calls Maria (Kennedy) Shriver her BFF and the 2 of them publicly bashed the BRF during megxit and the Queen's funeral. The Kennedy family is the last family who has the right to bash ANY family. That family is a mess and I'll leave it at that. These people are such hypocrites.
Grown up women from dysfunctional families of origin who blame the BRF for unfulfilled Disney fantasies about "royalty."
To view YT clips change your VPN to USA
Fergie in 1996 on NoOprah who really wanted to dish about Diana.
youtube
Fergie & Andrew were trashing the BRF to Rosie O'Donnell before The Cambridge's Wedding🤦‍♂️
youtube
Piers saved Fergie from complaining about the invitation.
youtube
Finding Sarah complains to the world about Christmas failing to reveal the whole truth.
youtube
Fergie visits a Shaman to grieve her mother's abandonment.
youtube
Screenshots from The Windsors (Comedy) where Fergie calls the police station to report that her daughters were radicalized.
Another tacky, pointless grifter. Zero dress sense as always and making a living off the back of a gifted title. Common as muck and pushing herself front and centre.
Reminds me of someone.

the only valid thing dr phil has ever done imo is host a debate about the merits of tipping
the anti-tipper of course looks like the most classist, asinine, selfish, sociopathic, skinflint-y pos ever
the servers of course present the realities of their situation and the massive amount of labor that actually goes into serving as well as the distribution of those tips to the cook, kitchen staff, bussers etc
anyway servers work 20000% harder than me at my little keyboard doing my blogging on company time and i don’t revoke a tip even if the service is terrible because the system being fucked isn’t an excuse to deprive someone of the dignity of a living wage (not that $2-something an hour plus 20% even comes to that)

How SHOULD cc!philza make his character a better person regarding c!wilbur’s death?
(This post takes it as a given that you see c!phil killing c!wilbur as morally bad. Now, I’m not the best at deriving morals, but if you need help with that because “wilbur told him to!” here’s a reminder that suicide is something we want to prevent in IRL society and when you discover a person is suicidal, you are taught to reach out to them and direct them to professional help. Not kill them.) (I tried to make this post ADHD-friendly with the colors -- reposting without bold because that made it harder to read imo.) So we’re all aware cc!phil saying stuff like “Wilbur was too far gone!” and “he had destructive tendencies as a child” is pretty controversial and doesn’t make his character any more moral/good (which is definitely his motive in saying that). But what would be a good way for him to resolve this major Bad Act his character has done that would make everyone happy, AKA not villainize c!wilbur and his mental illness? The problem with cc!phil’s attempts is that they are all past-focused; they all attempt to justify his act, (one that some people would see as unjustifiable) instead of repent for it. In order to make his character a better person, c!phil must first admit that it was wrong. cc!phil likely avoids this because it makes it concrete that his character has done bad things, but it would actually make him a better person, even before “repenting” -- I’m sure we’ve all been taught that admitting your mistakes is better than not admitting your mistakes. c!phil must express that assisting in his son’s suicide was morally wrong and he feels bad not just because of how the act impacted him, but because of how he treated his mentally ill son. After that, he should obviously apologize to c!wilbur. c!wilbur may still think that he “deserved” to die, so this would be a great opportunity for c!phil to help c!wilbur’s mental health and affirm his care for his son. Along the way, he should actively seek information about c!wilbur’s situation in Pogtopia. That would also demonstrate his care, help his character understand c!wilbur better, and provide external motivation for him to realize he messed up.
I thought there would be more to say, but really that’s it. TL;DR: c!phil just has to reevaluate his past actions and apologize.
The biggest struggle here is actually having a catalyst for c!phil to re-evaluate his moral judgement on himself. Maybe he could talk to a different character about it and they would go “you killed your son? that’s fked up.” and he would go “but he asked me to!” “dude that’s even more fcked up. he needed help, man.” And that could be the catalyst for c!phil realizing he hadn’t been understanding c!wilbur’s mental illness properly. Then he could try to find out the truth about Pogtopia, which would eventually lead to him realizing he needs to apologize, all of which would show growth as a character and affirm good morals because he’d be willing to better himself. Rather than the current situation, where the man is losing an argument and making up stuff to prove he’s right rather than accepting that he’s wrong.

In light of the recent GoT fandom drama going on with Targ/Dany stans and their criticism/hate on Sophie Turner... I want to pop in and give my genuine opinion[s].
Last year, when I was seventeen-almost-eighteen and in my senior year of high school, I was going through a really awful time mentally. My grades were dropping, I was having anxiety attacks, was extremely unwell mentally and gained a bit of weight. It started at the end of January, which wasn’t too long before I discovered Sophie through the Jonas Brothers’ documentary (as I’d been a fan of them since childhood, and was so excited when they got back together, so I watched it on Amazon Prime as soon as I could). When I searched her up online for the first time, one of the first things that came up was her interview on Dr. Phil where she spoke about her depression. I didn’t regularly watch him nor was I really a fan of his (more so indifference than anything), but I wanted to watch it to hear what she had to say as I was going through a hard time myself. As I began to watch more and more of her, I really began to love her as a person and think of her as my role model, and hearing her own story made me have hope that I would make it through my own hard times (and I did soon enough). Safe to say, she means a lot to me, and is one of my favorite celebrities and actors for her awareness, activism and in general, I really love and admire her as a person.
Back on topic - as someone who’s part-black (black, white, Latina and Brazilian, but not 25% of each yet with the ethnicity of my grandparents and great-grandparents on both sides), I think it’s sick that so many Dany stans want to accuse Sophie of saying the n-word and trying to make her into a racist/the Antichrist just because they don’t care for her. Instead of trying to start rumors about an actress/actor you don’t like and trying to make them into a terrible person with questionable views/politics/opinions etc., why don’t you focus on actual non-black celebs who’ve said the n-word or other racist/offensive slurs? And not to mention, there are so few white celebrities who are being genuine right now when it comes to the current protests and movements, and as a WOC/POC, I can TELL when someone is being genuine. And imo, Sophie 100% is. Not everyone who likes her is white, and you may never know; she, Sansa or both could mean a whole lot to many people outside of a fictional character on-screen, and I’m one of them. She and her character can mean a lot to people who were depressed like Sophie herself, or who went through emotional, psychological, physical and sexual abuse like Sansa. Regardless of color, gender, class and sexuality, as a LOT of people like to say that all her stans are rich cishet white girls
But it doesn’t stop there with their Sophie hate - and even though they happened a while ago, the following few I’ll discuss beneath the cut are also quite... sick.
Let’s start off with what they’ve said just this year about Sophie’s pregnancy. Nothing, and I repeat, NOTHING that anyone else in the fandom has done, no matter who they are will ever beat that level of vileness. There’s no excuses for anyone who did that, regardless of who they are (sexuality/gender, race, religion and disabilities are no excuse to be a disgusting POS who wishes harm on a pregnant woman, Janet). No question, they deserved to be called out and criticized for those actions (the Dany stans who did, not the ones who were actively against it and called out their own kind). I’m not even going to get into this one, because anyone with common sense or any type of morals should know just WHY what they said about Sophie’s pregnancy was so fucking sick and wrong. And if you don’t/disagree with me, please, block and unfollow me ASAP.
And the second one is revolving around a rather controversial topic in the fandom: The reunion special.
Let’s start with the story of how the drama in the fandom all went down: Sophie made a joke about Kit showing up to set drunk, it was completely harmless to everyone except for Dany/Targ/Emilia stans who decided that Sophie was the Antichrist and were having fits of unholy screeching in their corners.
But before people can twist my words, no, I do NOT think that it’s funny to make jokes about addiction. It’s so fucking distasteful, and I can get exactly why some people are triggered/upset by it. But, keep in mind that the special was actually filmed in June 2018. A long time before anyone in the cast or the media and people knew about Kit’s addiction. Of course, I’m NOT saying that I would defend her if she already knew and still proceeded to make jokes about it - because I wouldn’t. I’m just saying that she didn’t know and was genuinely joking, so I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt in that particular situation. Nobody knew about Kit’s struggles then, as it was filmed in 2018, and not 2019 like a lot of people. I love Kit as well, and did feel sorry for him when his drinking problem was revealed, but Sophie genuinely didn’t know, so I won’t bash or chastise her for her comments.
And while we’re on the topic of Kit’s drinking problem - didn’t some Targ stans on Twitter say he ‘deserved’ it because of Jon killing Dany? And their hatred towards the cast doesn’t just stop at him; Isaac, Maisie, Nikolaj, John Bradley and I believe Lena had to experience it too (after Cersei killed Missandei), however, I could be wrong. But TL/DR: It’s sick that Targ stans would start such awful rumors about Sophie just because they dislike her and stan for Dany/Emilia (who, while I like her, DEFINITELY has her flaws off-screen and I have disagreed with several comments she’d made and some things she’s done). Racism isn’t a funny joke you can get away with and start rumors about a celeb you don’t like doing racist things just for shits and giggles or because you hate them for absolutely zero reason.
Now, don’t get me wrong - there ARE bad/toxic Sansa and Sophie stans. Every fandom has shitty fans, and just about every character/celebrity does too. And it’s true that they CAN be gross - but they don’t even come CLOSE to the level that Her Satanic Majesty/EC’s stans do. And if you have to completely and utterly destroy and demonize one character (Sansa) to make another look good (Dany), like a lot of Dany stans have done in their own original content (along with the crosstagging, but I won’t get into that here), you’re only proving just how bad your fave is.

ok but why isn’t it called avengers assemble tho
AKA THE GREAT MARVEL REWATCH PART THIS-IS-NOT-AS-GOOD-AS-I-REMEMBER-IT-BEING-WHEN-I-FIRST-SAW-IT
Avengers is a movie that has not aged well for either me or The Roommate (aka @goteamwin) and we had a whole conversation about how at the time it came out we were excited about Avengers, even though neither of us were yet hip-deep in the Marvel fandom. But we were !excited! because !Joss Whedon! and now we are ?disappointed? because ?Joss Whedon?
This movie, in retrospect, might be The Tipping Point of Joss Whedon’s career? like? It contains everything that was Great about his movies but also contains the seeds of his ultimate self-destruction.
ANYWAY ON WITH THE REWATCH, AKA STEVE ROGERS AND THE CUBE THAT WOULDN’T FUCKING DIE
this opening scene is so expositiony and on the one hand at least it doesn’t contain a flashback but on the other hand? it’s bad?? It’s a bad start???
sidenote by The Roommate: so i know that it was recently confirmed that Loki was being mind-controlled in Avengers but also. Was there ever any question about whether Loki was being mind controlled? or am I just That Fangirl
Sidenote to the sidenote, By Me: She is not That Fangirl, but i suspect that she was perilously close to becoming That Fangirl at some point in her past.
oh hey phil’s here
i do appreciate that they’re prioritizing evac. that’s nice attention to a detail that usually does not get addressed.
the line about the tesseract “misbehaving” being followed immediately by a line about the Tesseract “behaving” dRiVeS mE FUCKING B O N K E R S I HATE IT SO MUCH????
anyway
Every once in a while I forget how hot Jeremy Renner is.
The Roommate: Yeah it sneaks up on ya.
IT’S JUST BAD WRITING? MISBEHAVING AND BEHAVING ARE LITERALLY ANTONYMS.
ANYWAY.
“You have heart” is also maybe kind of bad writing.
We had to pause and rewind to confirm that yup Loki trips there, because he is having A Trouble (at The Roommate’s urging. Perilously close, my good dude.)
Loki like a labrador getting to ride in the back of the truck for the first time. The Smells! The Sights and Sounds!! The Wind In My Hair!!! THE EXPLOSIONS!!!!
Phil says: “what do we do” and I look at my roommate and say: “The dialogue in this movie is.......... not good.”
it’s just so out of keeping with the Professional Military vibe these three have going otherwise? it’s very ooc sounding to my ear??
anyway
I actually really like this scene with the Black Widow and the russians and that’s all i have to say about that.
actually, you  know what really Makes It for me? Phil bopping along to the sound of  Nat beating up bad guys like it’s on hold music. That’s Just Great.
“‘‘“““budapest”‘‘““““‘‘ aka a clip from later in this movie but flipped.
we can’t talk about the brucenat yet that’s for the aou rewatch
“i’m sorry, that was mean” GOD RUFFALO IS SUCH A GOOD BRUCE???
also Natasha is clearly having A Moment whERE ARE MY 8000 METAS ON WHATEVER NAT IS CLEARLY HAVING A FLASHBACK ABOUT
hey it’s these shadowy figures from the shadowy global organization
“it’s won by Soldiers”--transition to--> Steven Grant Rogers this is an A+ transition and it just makes me angrier that we did not get the full Sadsack Steeb scene from the deleted scenes which is EXCELLENT.
SERIOUSLY. THAT’S A GREAT SCENE. I LOB IT.
*steve’s butt comes on screen*
Me: Ohhhhh say can you SEEEEEE
*the flashback happens*
The Roommate: THis is Un. Necessary.
Me, looking at her, knowing that the first time she saw Avengers she had not seen The First Avenger yet: ..............
Me: un necessary? UN? NECESSARY???
has Steve been sleeping at all tho?
“C eLeBRaTingG??” CELEBRATING WHAT, NICHOLAS? ALL HIS FRIENDS ARE DEAD???
“he’s... not from around here.” THAT IS WILDLY OVERSIMPLIFIED.
“Shoulda left it in the ocean.”
“shoulda maybe left me in the ocean too” *tired old man sounds.*
Tony is. So Neurotic. About Everything. I Lob Him.
I Think the problem is at least partly that some of Joss Whedon’s lines (in this movie especially) are just so transparently set ups for Snappy Comebacks™
Pepper Potts is also equal parts mom and girlfriend and it seems likely that this is exactly why No Kids, Tony.
Oh Phil.
sidenote from me: Phanboy Phil is a perfect example of something that is Unexpected but Not Out Of Character. Joss Whedon loves doing The Unexpected but he’s not always so great at making it Not Out Of Character
“need a little old fashioned” I WOULD LIKE IT KNOWN THAT AT THIS POINT I WAS IN FACT DRINKING AN OLD FASHIONED CHEERS I DRANK TO THAT BRO
To Loki: Hey bro. how u doin? (spoiler alert: Not Great) u let ur hair grow out and i hate it.
MA’AM he calls her MA’AM steve is such a N E R D
sidenote, at this point i had to pause the movie because i was having An Emotion, because Steve is all sadsack talking to Fury and then equally sadsack talking to Phil and then he comes out of the Quinjet like “Ma’am. Dr. Banner. Word Is You Can Find The Cube. Why What A Wonderful Day It Is Here In The Future Golly Gosh I Sure Do Love It A Lot” in his Olde Tyme Radio Announcer Voice.
and it made me s a d
The Roommate: Well of course he’s talking like an olde tyme radio announcer he has anxiety and this is a stressful situation, so he’s using his Please Don’t Hate Me™ Customer Service™ Voice™
*sadness intensifies*
The Roommate: Steven. I know you were in the army but surely even you know that submarines do not have flight crews.
Maria Hill here, assessing Cap’s assets.
I talk (and will continue to talk) a lot of shit about this movie, but it gave us a lot of Really Good Things, and Nerd!Phil is one of those good things.
Cap’s suit is VERY MUCH NOT ON THE LIST OF GOOD THINGS.
Okay i hate to go on about this (no i don’t)
But at this stage of the movie, the Avengers have only met Captain America. Like, he’s in the spangly suit, he’s got his Customer Service Voice on, his hair is pomaded to kingdom come, he tucks his plaid shirt into his khaki pants
This is Captain America
This is Not Steve Rogers.
None of the avengers have met Steve Rogers yet and that is just so
* S A D N E S S   I N T E N S I F I E S *
Who built this eyeball device? why? where does it come from? how do they get it? why is it like this? IT IS SO! UNNECESSARY??
“you crave subjugation” loki. Loki. LOKI. i feel like you are talking to yourself. this feels like you’re talking about you. just say you’re a bottom, find yourself a nice service top to take care of you and stop making these poor bastards part of your Extra™ Nonsense.
“we ended up disagreeing” said Captain America.
“nOt TOdAY!” OH HEY STEVE IS HERE GOOD TO SEE YOU STEVE.
“FoR an OldER FEllOW???” WHAT AN EXCELLENT TIME TO POINT OUT THAT TONY STARK, AT THE TIME OF THE AVENGERS, IS, LIKE, FORTY TWO. AND STEVEN ROGERS IS, LIKE, TWENTY-SIX.
*lightning happens*
The Roommate: OH YOU GUYS ARE SCREWED NOW
“I have a plan. Attack.” TONY TEDWARD STARK THAT IS NOT A PLAN.
Last Known Instance of Steve Using a Parachute.
Loki: I’m listening.
Me: Thor is already Gone. so that snappy comeback™ is for whomst???
CHILDREN. STOP FIGHTING. GRANDPA IS HERE.
“are we done?” yeah, they’re all just too Manly to say owwwwwww
Upon Rewatching It Is Painfully Obvious that the Producers Had No Idea that the Mind Stone was in the Staff.
“I understood that reference”
I know it’s overused, but it’s still a Golden line
Steve is so proud of himself.
Tony’s eyeroll is Un Paralleled.
God this is such a group project, and they all fit into their roles so well.
Thor: Well Meaning but Entirely Useless Jock
Steve: Neurotic Organizer With No Applicable Skills
Tony: Genius. Would Be MVP If He Could Be Persuaded To Give A Single Shit. Keeps Suggesting They Do Something Else.
Bruce: “uhhhhhhhh i just wanna finish my work here, and--”
Also: No one in this room is wrong, and that is actually pretty good writing, imo.
“I’ve got a cluster of shrapnel...”
Tony.
Honey.
That is not at all the same thing.
Stop comparing those things.
S T O P.
Thor: In my youth--
Me: THOR YOUR YOUTH WAS LIKE TWO MONTHS AGO.
so this scene with Loki and Black Widow feels very Blocked and Staged but that does not stop it from being Very Good, IMO and no I will not be taking input on that assessment, I really like this particular interpretation of the Black Widow.
Steve: Phase 2 is S.H.I.E.L.D. Uses the Cube to make weapons. Sorry, computer was moving a little slow for me.
HEY LOOK IT’S STEVE!! STEVE THIS IS EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, THIS IS STEVE.
Fury: BECAUSE OF HIM.
Thor: me????
Me: THOR HAS LITERALLY DONE NOTHING WRONG LEAVE HIM A L O N E
a) clint rly likes that bow move but more importantly b) clint? u ok? does the brainwash gang get naptime? u look like u could use a nap, sweetums.
TONY LAST MOVIE U HAD THAT PACKED IN A SUITCASE WHY IS IT IN A BANK VAULT???
Did Bruce invest in some kind of specialty pant company? like? kickstarter or something?
Steve goes outside like It’s Cool I Don’t Need Air.
digi steve is VERY DIGI.
let it be known that thor is coming into this VERY BLIND he has LITERALLY NEVER SEEN THE HULK BEFORE. is he just like, internally ???????IS THIS NORMAL FOR HUMANS?????????????????
“It seems to run on some form of electricity.”
AW STEVE’S HERE AGAIN.
captain sassmerica
Steve does an awful lot of high kicks and i’m pretty sure he learned those on the Star Spangled Circuit
that arrow-in-computer thing is R I D I C U L O U S.
On the one hand, I definitely shipped Clintasha when I first saw this movie, on the other hand, I can totally see a brother/sister “we were raised in the same dysfunctional foster family” dynamic and I do actually like it.

I'm a bit confused. You run a phan blog and write fic about Dan and Phil so I thought you were a fan of them. But yesterday you posted that Phil was just a run of the mill white guy who is only famous for who he's with. So is it just the relationship you enjoy? Because you don't seem to like them as individuals much. Just wondering.
Why do you think me saying that he’s run of the mill means I don’t like him? Why is average an insult to you? Most people are average, by the very definition of the term.
I think Dan and Phil are both fantastic people. I think they’re both creative, complex, interesting, and inherently good human beings. But the thing is - lots of people on this planet are. Being famous on youtube, being famous in general, is not usually something that happens because someone is actually an inherently better person than everyone else. It happens because of luck, chance, and circumstance. Dan and Phil worked to get where they are - but they didn’t work harder than most other people. Because, anon, there are a lot of people in this world that work their asses off. There are a lot of people in the world that are good people. There are a lot of people in the world that are funny, that are creative, that have either positive or insightful outlooks on life, who started out on the same platform or in the same situation in life but didn’t get where Dan and Phil are. And it’s not because they’re not as good - it’s just because luck, chance, and circumstance weren’t on their side.
On the same note - they’re good youtubers, yes. But it’s naive and narrow-minded to say that the reason they’ve had career longevity while their peers have faded into looking irrelevance is because Dan and Phil are the best youtubers. Why ignore the reality of what sets them apart? I can like them, and I can be a fan of them, without idolizing them under some pretense of superiority against their peers.
So I guess the tl;dr of my response to you is: Understanding that they are indeed two run of the mill white guys whose fame is in part (mostly, imo, but I guess to what extent is at least up for debate) because of the attention on their relationship doesn’t undermine my appreciation for the happiness that they bring to my life or my gratitude for that. I don’t need them to be special or better than anyone for me to be a fan of them.

First, 1 month ago? good luck. /gen
If you need help cathing up on plot I can recommend:
Watching Wilbur’s videos about s1 (here’s a link to the playlist),
Techno’s VODs, dw he doesn’t stream too much and is never boring when he does, here’s a link to a playlist, most important streams imo are The Festival, The Revolution, Nothing Goes Wrong, Nothing bad ever happens on the festival; it ends today, egg, and First Meating, but other streams give a lot of important context to them too, i think you wont regret watching them all.
And if you are interested in Tommy specifically this collection will help you a lot.
Ask around for Egg plot, it’s not my element tbh. I have this post with recaps tho.
Ask around for Ranboo’s story, it’s not my element tbh.
But specifically on the topic of this post, and major spoilers ahead:
In the end of the Manburg War Wilbur and Philza have a confrontation in the Button Room - Wilbur plans do destroy L’manburg and Philza tries to talk him out, but fails - button gets pressed L’manburg is blown up and Wilbur is begging Philza to take his life, witch he reluctantly, but does.
And in the recent Ranboo lore stream he begs Sam to lock him in prison while clearly having a breakdown, witch Sam refuses to do.
So, first of all here’s an incredibly important post where a certified person talks about Philza’s situation (link), everyone should read it. TL;DR - suicide prevention is hard and not anybody is capable of it.
People have been comparing this two situations, saying that it proves that Philza is a horrible person for doing what he did.
So here are some key differences:
Sam and Ranboo were in private while Philza and Wilbur were observed but tons of people, witch Wilbur capitalized on, saying that if Philza haven’t killed him they would’ve.
Ranboo had only his words to convince Sam, he actively refused to give Sam any proof of it being necessary to imprison him. Wilbur blew up his nation in front of Phil.
Sam, more than likely, has selfish reasons for keeping Ranboo out. He obviously doesn’t want Dream to escape, but he also doesn’t want anybody to know that he allowed Quackity in. This is semi proved by the next point witch is
Many people missed it, but Sam was about to kill Ranboo if he kept insisting on letting him in. Sam took out his sword and told Ranboo to go home. When Ranboo asked if Sam would kill him, if he refused to do so, Sam answered “I wouldn’t like to” not “no”.
Phil was convinced that there would’ve been bad consequences for both him and Wilbur if he didn’t kill the latter. Sam looses nothing by not letting Ranboo in and he knows it.
While both Ranboo and Wilbur showed that they were suffering, killing Wilbur would’ve stopped it, while imprisoning Ranboo would’ve not.
These two situations simply have nothing in common beyond the basic “Person A asks person B to do something bad to them, person B reacts” premise. Comparing them can be interesting, but it is no ground to base any criticism on.
I can also recommend reading this post on the subject.
I would've made a post about how Sam not putting Ranboo in prison and Philza killing Wilbur is not comparable.
But if you need that explained to you, you are either very new to this fandom (if this is the case feel free to ask me actually, I will gladly tell you) or you are dense as fuk Philza anti and I am not touching you even with a 10 meter stick.
I am sick of having same arguments over and over again with no effect, fuck ya'll, not dealing with this anymore.

#21: Season 2, Episode 15 - “Sibling Rivalry”
In an attempt to settle their never-ending rivalry, Ren and Louis compete on a ridiculous game show called “Sib Wars.” There’s also Ren/Bobby/Mandy drama on the side which is beyond juicy. Meanwhile, Donnie has a date with a French girl and has Nelson translate for him.
Tumblr media
This one opens with Louis "Flossercising” -- A combination of flossing your teeth and exercising. Right off the bat, you know this episode is gonna be an outlandish one. He’s just chillin’, incorrectly lifting weights in a bathroom full of dental floss lol
Tumblr media
How do you even buy that much dental floss? Also, I can’t deal with Shia’s face in this screenshot. ALSO, I’d like to talk to Sarah and Suzie and ask them what drugs they were on when they came up with “flossercising.”
Ren starts freaking out at Louis because she needs to get ready for a date with Bobby and he’s cramping her style. They chase each other into Donnie’s room where we see Donnie super focused on learning French. I love how he’s dressed in the stereotypical black and white striped mime shirt -- sitting in front of a pile of French books, Eiffel Tower statues and a bowl of french fries while doing so. As if it’s a freaking séance to reach the ghosts of French experts.
Tumblr media
Cutting off his head was the only way I could get everything in the screenshot lol.
This scene is pretty funny. After Louis and Ren come running into his room, Donnie tells them to knock it off because he only has one day to learn French. “That’s realistic” Ren says so sarcastically, I crack up every time. This is also where Ren calls Louis “infuriating” and he tries to call her it as well, but butchers the word and says “In-flirt-in-ate-ter-ing.” I remember this being used on a few ads for the show back in the day. Just then, Donnie grabs a VHS tape, shows it to them very dramatically and says “You guys need to see this.” And Louis is all “What? You lifting weights in your bathing suit? We already saw that.” HAHA!!! I love how Donnie is so obliviously vain, it’s great. Imagine subjecting your brother and sister to that. He quickly picks up the VHS he meant to show them, which is an accidental taping of a show called “Sibling Sessions.”
This show within a show is so freaking hilarious. It’s like Dr. Phil if it were a show within a soap opera and filmed in a therapists office. The brother and sister (Kevin and Wendy) who appear on it are so lame and fake, it’s so good. The host makes Kevin apologize to Wendy and I died laughing.
Tumblr media
“It’s nothing against you, Wendy! You’re the BEST! I guess the reason I act the way I do, is because of my own insecurities. Deep down... I’m just a loser.” HAHAHAHAHAHA. The acting is purposely incredibly bad here, almost like an infomercial -- which makes it even better. The kid looks like he’s about to burst out laughing when he says “I’m just a loser” lol.
Even Stevens seriously wins the award for Most Original Humor on Disney Channel. Ever. No other show has a strut quite like this one. I also thank god every day that ES didn’t have a laugh track. It simply doesn’t need one.
Ren thinks the show seems professional and is down for appearing on it. Louis, on the other hand, is vehemently against it -- Until the host announces that Kevin and Wendy will receive two tickets to Happy Mountain Amusement Park for being on the show, lol.
Tumblr media
You just know this was an ad-lib, tbh. How does Shia even think of this stuff? What even is that facial expression? He’s too much...
I also just realized that Ren is definitely wearing the necklace Louis bought her in Swap.com. Ya know, the one she gave back to Ernie? Oops.
Tumblr media
Suddenly, the doorbell rings and Ren is expecting it to be Bobby, but *dun dun dunnn* It’s Nelson. This marks the start of the DRAMA!!! Bobby sent Nelson as the bearer of bad news. He’s there to let Ren know Bobby had to cancel their date because he has work to do with his lab partner. Hummmmm... Ren is immediately suspicious. Clearly, she does not trust Bobby and this relationship ain’t healthy.
Somewhere around here, Donnie finds out that Nelson can speak French. So he asks him to translate on his upcoming date with some ~beautiful foreign exchange student.~ We also get the “HAAAAPPY MOUNTAIN! THE BIG OLD ROCK OF FUUUUUUN!” from Louis which is iconic. I’m just gonna go ahead and assume that most of the things Shia does in this episode are ad-libs.
Tumblr media
The next day at school, Ren happens to catch Bobby working with his lab partner... who he conveniently forgot to mention is Mandy “Always-Gets-Her-Man” Sanchez. RED FLAG!!! MAJOR RED FLAG.
Tumblr media
When class lets out, there’s this awkward/passive-aggressive/mean girl moment between Ren and Mandy -- and it’s gold. Mandy says “Ren, love the lipstick! That color works so well on your THIN lips. :)” To which Ren responds, “You know? I wonder what it’d look like on a FAT LIP :)” hahahaha. Salty overload. Ren decides to privately confront Bobby about the situation after. Asking why he neglected to say that Mandy was his lab partner because Mandy is definitely into him, and he essentially tells her it’s all in her head. “Come on, it’s just Mandy. She flirts with everyone!” So, Ren convinces herself that she’s just overreacting. THIS IS SUCH A TEXTBOOK CASE OF A BAD RELATIONSHIP. You can clearly see that Ren is still suspicious though.. and it only gets worse when Bobby kisses her goodbye on the cheek instead of the lips. Oh, boy. Bobby sucks.
Ren and Louis go to an audition for “Sibling Sessions” but when they get there they see that the show has been rebranded as “Sib Wars” -- a competition show. Apparently the ratings were in the toilet. Can’t imagine why!!! Who wouldn’t want to watch a low-level, PBS knock-off of Dr. Phil?! The show is on the verge of being cancelled all together, unless they can find two bickering siblings to compete ASAP -- and Louis and Ren answer their prayers. They come barging in like two arguing tornados. I love their little fight here though, lol. Ren claims that Louis got ice cream in her hair and Louis says “Did it ever occur to you that YOUR hair got in MY ice cream? Did that enter your skull?!” He has a point. Ren obviously considers herself to be the superior sibling, so she has no doubt that she’ll win the cheesy competition. “I could even grow a mustache before you!” she threatens. And Louis comes back with one of my favorite burns everrrr: “You could. In fact, it’s coming in quite nicely!” HAHA. Shia and Christy go on to totally ad-lib a heated argument and I love it.
Tumblr media
The host, David Blackburn, is so over the top with everything he does. On “Sibling Sessions” he was over the top melodramatic and on “Sib Wars” he’s over the top excited. It’s like he’s incapable of acting like a normal human. Normally, I cannot stand when shows go overboard with obnoxiousness.. but I can’t help but laugh at this guy. He starts wearing a cheap, short, dreads wig to try to seem more ~hip~ and young, (”Is my hair on straight?”) which is hilarious to me. And this dude delivers every single one of his lines with such a perfect balance of fake enthusiasm and the insecurity that comes along with trying way too hard to be cool. It just gets me for some reason, lol. I’m also almost positive that HE’S doing the voiceover announcing HIMSELF as “the handsome, the talented -- DAVID BLACKBURRRRRNNNN!” haha. I have to gif the footage of his introduction because it’s honestly so meme-worthy and hysterical imo:
Tumblr media
If I had the power, I’d make nearly every other moment of every Even Stevens episode a popular meme. It’s beyond deserving... Yet, the only meme that’s come out of Even Stevens is Beans. Great. This show is truly one of the greatest, overlooked TV gems ever.
Anyway, I’m pretty sure the “TV G” was edited in for “Sib Wars” specifically. I don’t remember Even Stevens ever having a rating pop up like that before, so that’s pretty awesome lol. I’m not sure what part of this gif gets me the worst, though. When he flips his “hair” back, the zoom-out shot of him like “ :D ” or the “THAT’S ME!” It’s all brilliant. I’ve been laughing at this for 5 minutes straight.
The game show ends up being incredibly stupid with the dumbest questions and categories ever... So it’s basically tailor-made for Louis Stevens. Therefore, he literally leaves Ren in the dust -- 500 points to 0. There’s also a “Pudding Pit of Doom” round where yet another bad Louis stunt double flips into the vat:
Tumblr media
I never noticed how many stunts happen on this show until now. This guy is obviously older and has a completely different build than Shia. They really don’t even try lol.
David Blackburn announces that Louis and Ren will return the next day for the “Ultimate Humiliation” round -- where they have 1 minute to totally mortify the other on public access television. Fun! Louis is scrambling to find some dirt on Ren, and he fails. The closest thing he gets is her “brushing her teeth inefficiently” on tape. This bit always stuck with me though!! He explains the footage to Twitty and says “Look at the technique. She’s doing that upward thing, you’re not supposed to be doing that! You’re supposed to do the little circles!” I think about this every single time I brush my teeth and have since always brushed in a circular motion lol.
The drama reaches the climax right about now when Louis and Twitty catch Bobby and Mandy walking down the hall together very flirtatiously. Their first thought is to start recording -- and boy did they end up capturing the most DRAMATIC TEEN DRAMA MOMENT THE SHOW HAS EVER SEEN:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is this Even Stevens or Degrassi???
When I rewatched this episode for the first time in a few years, I was genuinely shocked. I knew Bobby was “cheating,” but I always remembered it as only flirting or a lingering hug. (Ya know... because Disney.) But, NOPE. It was an actual kiss on the lips. Bobby is a RAT and I never liked him. It’s really too bad they didn’t end the series with some comedic plot where Ren and Larry realize their feelings for each other because trust me..... the feelings are there. That’s way better content than Bobby freakin’ Deaver. HE WAS NEVER FOR YOU, REN!
Louis’ plan is to be a slimeball and use this footage in the Ultimate Humiliation round. That’s honestly so messed up, I can’t even fathom that idea. Imagine video of your significant other kissing some other person airing for everyone to see. Dang. I told you this was dramatic.
This subplot is really, really short. So I’ll wrap it up now as usual. It’s just Donnie on his date with Sandrine (played by Danica McKellar from The Wonder Years) with Nelson translating. Basically, Nelson’s allergies to everything flare up. He takes over the date and steals Sandrine’s attention away from Donnie. That’s it. There’s this one screenshot that’s pretty great without context tho:
Tumblr media
Back to the main plot. Ren decided to use Louis’ nasty bed sheet as her way to humiliate him. I love how she titled the exhibit "Louis: An American Tragedy" lol:
Tumblr media
When it’s Ren’s turn to sit in the hot seat, she takes a moment to give a shout out to Bobby. Saying how happy she is that they’re together and she hopes they can stay together. Of course. Meanwhile, Louis is standing there holding the VHS tape of Bobby cheating. It’s intense. Ultimately, Louis makes the right decision and doesn’t show the tape. He just gives up and says he didn’t come prepared with anything. I LOVE SEEING GOOD LITTLE BROTHER LOUIS, MAN!!! Ren is declared the winner.
Louis knows that Ren doesn’t deserve to continue to be lead on by Bobby. So at home that night, Louis simply gives Ren the tape. The footage is pretty self explanatory. It fades to a very dramatic shot of Ren breaking up with Bobby by giving him his letterman jacket back. I hate Bobby. He’s standing there all sad. Like... Come on, man. Don’t act like you're upset about what you did. You knew full well what you were doing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ren’s head to toe light blue ensemble is... something.
Ren thanks Louis for not showing the tape on TV and he says “Ren, you’re my sister. I wouldn’t do you like that.” MY HEART. That vibe changes quickly though when Louis asks if he can be her plus 1 to Happy Mountain lol.
And that’s it. The episode ends with Donnie watching the video of him lifting weights in his bathing suit. haha.
Tumblr media
I really like this episode. It’s not one of my personal favorites, but this episode is most true to the series' premise. If you look at it literally, it’s the most "Even Stevens" episode ever tbh -- which is why it's higher on the list. I also just cannot get over the level of legit drama here with the Bobby/Mandy stuff! Crazy. Louis is a great brother here, too.. which is so amazing to see. There aren’t any giant laugh-out-loud moments, but the dialogue here is so snappy and smart. I found myself laughing quite a bit due to how great the writing is and the delivery from the cast all around. Everyone is on point here.
Thanks for reading!!

Note
the way dan talks and acts in his videos differs so much from the way he talks and acts in his liveshows and even more from the way he talks and acts when he is with phil, or even the way he talks and acts in other people's vlogs. i have a hard time understanding which is his real personality.
What Dan does is just alter the parts of him he puts emphasis on depending on the audience he’s speaking to, which is honestly what we all do every day of our loves. How you talk to your friends is not how you talk to a stranger is not how you talk to your grandmother.
When Dan is doing a video, he’s doing it to a massive platform of people with various expectations of him all of which he’s nervous about meeting or failing to meet. He’s in Performer Mode when he’s doing a main channel video.
When he’s doing a liveshow, he’s addressing a core group of fans that he knows supports him completely - or else they wouldn’t be tuning in to watch him ramble directionless for an hour. He’s familiar with us, he’s comfortable with us, but he’s also sometimes resentful of us because we do undoubtedly represent the biggest pain in the ass of his youtube career.
When he’s talking to Phil, he’s talking to his best friend, his partner, the person he is basically with 24/7. There’s chemistry, intimacy, and comfort in the conversations between them - as well as, sometimes, a certain tinge of fear or self-awareness about that comfort and chemistry and how it’s being observed.
I’m sure there are many more facets to him that we never get to see. The guy who attends business meetings. The guy who goes home to see his grandmother. The guy who stops a random stranger on the street to pet their dog. (Look, you can’t tell me it doesn’t happen.) Just the same as any of us, who he is depends on the situation he’s in and who he’s talking to.
tl;dr - they’re all his ‘real’ personality, imo. :)
