i can def see both ways!! but consider the third option where he immediately realizes reader has a crush on karasu due to spending most of his time around girls (aka his mother and sisters) but because he has like negative guy friends he has NO IDEA how karasu feels abt her 😓 so then HE becomes a wingman for reader as well but he’s sooo bad at it like he’ll say some shit to karasu about how “y/n l/n is a lovely girl who can really keep a house clean. any man would be lucky to have her 😒” and karasu’s like yoooo barou x y/n canon 😳⁉️ because he somehow knows barou’s type is a woman who can clean well (reader cannot in fact clean well barou was just trying to make her seem appealing 🥲) i think wingman barou + wingman yuki + anti wingman for himself karasu is just such a crazy combo of characters HAHAHAH pure insanity…poor reader the only consolation is she’s definitely getting a hot soccer boyfriend out of this fiasco one way or another 😭

i took an anti-nausea medicine today and it basically knocked me out?? like i could NOT keep my eyes open…so ig it did work in that i wasn’t nauseous per se 😭 hoping the effects linger a bit through tmrw but not the side effects LMAO it’s okay i’ve been having such an amazing time otherwise that it’s not a huge deal!! we’re going paragliding tmrw (😬 i’m scared of heights but yk yolo how many times does one get the chance to paraglide in the swiss alps) and then the day after we drive to italy for a bit 🤩 i loveee visiting italy hehe so i’m excited for that!! and then afterwards france time 🙏🏻 as long as my ass doesn’t get carsick again that means lots of driving time when i can get some writing in!! but no promises we will see how it goes 😩 if not i’ll just listen to music and stare out of the window all moody and aesthetic while in the car and just write at night as i typically do

A little daelo Drabble

 Junhong’s head is swimming. He squints his eyes in the low light, glancing around at the others sitting in the circle with him. “Truth or dare.” Junhong licks his lips. 

His mouth feels heavy and dry, like talking is going to take too much energy out of him. Someone nudges him in the side signaling that the question was for him. He glares over and it’s Jongup. 

 “Junhong, it’s your turn.”

 Junhong stares and blinks, registering the words. The red plastic cup in his hand swishes dangerously and Jongup plucks it out of his hand and places it in front of him. There’s an array of cheap handles of vodka and chasers scattered in between their circle of friends. 

 The party has dwindled down to a few more people left, most of them sitting in the circle on the ratty apartment carpet. He does a sweep with his eyes since there’s been a few people who’ve left or joined.

 Junhong swallows and his tongue suddenly feels too big in his mouth as he looks at Jung Daehyun sitting diagonally from him. The cute film major in his silent film class that Junhong is taking just to fulfill one of the general education requirements. The guy who Junhong has been blabbering about for the whole semester. 

Junhong remembers seeing him in the party earlier and lowly recognizes that he lost track of his drinks because he was nervous that Daehyun was at the same party as him. 

 His brain tells him he’s been staring for too long now and should look away. He drags his gaze away and recognizes Himchan from his anthropology class as the one who asked him the question.

 He stares back and says “Truth.” 

 Himchan smiles and it looks more mischievous than cute, Junhong thinks. Off on the side Youngjae groans and calls him a wuss.

 Himchan says, “Tell us an embarrassing childhood story.”

 Junhong blinks, that’s a much tamer question than he was expecting. He knows just the one. It’s embarrassing but Junhong’s got nothing to hide. 

 He’s a little dizzy as he says, “When I was younger, I had a crush on a new boy in my class and didn't know how to deal with it so I wrote him a letter that just said ‘get out of school.’” He starts out slow and fumbles over a few words but he gets the story out and Junhong calls that a success. 

 Laughs erupt in the small circle and Junhong likes the feeling of being able to make people laugh. His hazy brain is telling him good job. He glances over at Daehyun and sees him looking at the floor, dark fringe covering his face. 

He doesn’t seem to be laughing and Junhong frowns. Youngjae though, is cackling and slapping his hands on Daehyun’s back, his voice wheezing as he says “What are the chances?” 

Himchan pipes up and asks for clarification. Youngjae, still laughing, slaps Daehyun again and says “he’ll tell you guys.” 

 Daehyun is fumbling with his hands as he says “When I was in elementary school I got a note telling me to get out of school. The kid who gave me the note moved somewhere else that same day so I never knew their name.”

 Everyone laughs again but Junhong is sitting there mortified. Everything sounds so far away. 

Someone slaps him on his back and he lurches forward. Suddenly all the dizziness is too much to stand and he regrets drinking so much. His hands cup his mouth and he groans, 

“I think I’m gonna-”

 Junhong wakes up with his head pounding. 

His body is sore and he’s desperately in need of washing up. He can barely remember what happened last night except for a few fuzzy bits and is grateful he even got home last night.

Freshly showered and clean, he heads back into his room where his phone lights up on his bed. As he reads the text, all the feelings from last night come rushing back and Junhong desperately wants to hide in a hole forever. 

 A text from an unknown number blinks up at him, 

“Hey, it’s Daehyun. But you might know me as the guy you told to get out of your school. Are you free to meet up today?” 

Junhong gulps. He can't believed he messed up so badly. It takes him a few tries to type out 

“Yeah.”

I had this silly headcanon that came into mind when I read someone's ask about y/n and satoru's kid 'sachiro' (or sum like that I can't remember) and I'd like to know what your interpretation would be like(as the writer/author) if y/n ended re-marrying toji(in the whole co-parenting thing), and how he would be as a step-dad towards sachiro.

I personally think Satoru's pettiness levels would be extremely high since y/n married his rival company and be low-key jealous of how close he is to sachiro///

Gojo is finally getting what was coming for him and he deserves it. He's in denial about it, but he absolutely was just as abusive as his dad, even if he would never get physically violent. It makes me have so many encountered feelings, bc I'm a gojo simp and kinda want mc and him to have their happy ever after, but realistically that kind of emotional abuse is extremely hard to look past and move on from, and in real life I would absolutely beg mc to get away from him as fast as possible.

I also find it so hard to empathize with sera lol girl I'm poor too but i've never gone after a married man. We really saw also how she loves the idealized version of gojo, and doesn't like when her picture perfect boyfriend is anything but. I can see how she desperately wants something perfect after dealing with her family but still #SeraGetTherapyChallenge

i usually don't go after the other women when it comes to cheating after all she didn't swear to be loyal,but this bitch sera makes it so hard not to, like she seen the mc being extremely lenient with her and still have the nerve to play the victim. If it was me i would have walked out on Gojo the moment he and his dumb bitch tried to villainize me. idk maybe im speaking from the fact that its incredibly hard for me to make meaningful emotional relationships or its probably because i have no tolerance for toxic relationships.( mostly because almost all the women in my family had been in one and i have been a witness to my parents own abusiveness) but all in all im glad that the mc is getting her shit together and walking away from the stress. ok back to the topic why am i a whore? I literally made a whole speech about how i am so disgusted about gojo and that i could never forgive him no matter what and how he must suffer but now i feel a little bad for him🧍🏻‍♀️ but i shouldn’t let my whore emotions take the best of me he must suffer like how his wife suffered or even more because i might feel a little bad of him but it's nothing compared to how much i feel bad for y/n especially after i found that she has heart condition 😭💔

Hello Hello 💜 I just got done reading Chapter Nine of SN and tears were falling already! There’s a few things I’ve had in mind while reading this chapter.

The conversation between Sera and Gojo - I felt mixed emotions. Anger? Remorse? Anxious? Too much happening since Gojo finally confronted Sera about what’s going on but Sera was pulling another trick up her sleeve. Will she use the pregnancy as a bridge to success or failure? She’s making me angry but also curious because sometimes the second female leads somehow manage to royally screw everything up anyways so I’m just waiting for that specific chapter to come up. And the relationship she has with her family made me feel so bad honestly. I can’t imagine yelling at my parents but in her case, since the dad is acting that way, Sera should just kick him out if he’s not providing financially. The mom I see her as a housewife watching the kids while Sera’s working so that’s okay. If anything, she didn’t have to yell at her siblings for caring about their older sister 🥺

Second concern was the conversation between MC and Gojo. That was a tear jerker (but it won’t top Ch.9) and I just wish for happy MC 💜 Gojo has abused her verbally and mentally (physically too bc of the ring situation), so I don’t think there will be a happy ending between them..? Maybe so maybe not but as far as the story goes, Gojo has a lot to make up for this marriage. MC won’t file for a divorce maybe because of the business relationship but if she had the power to, then she would’ve ended it without thinking twice. Now that we know MC has CAD, there’s no doubt in my mind the divorce will come with a happy ending like “Gojo, I’m sorry for the divorce but just know that regardless of what happens between us, I’ll still wish for happiness for you. It may not be with me but I don’t want you to suffer as much as I did,” type of divorce, ya know? Like pull the trigger with her own happiness and it makes him suffer in the end? Too much lol? However the story goes I will still love it anyways!

Last, Toji and MC. IN MY OPINION(!), I’m not wanting Toji and MC to become a couple. At first when he came up to MC at the bar my heart did backflips and I was like “oh yes she gonna get drunk and have a liquid courage hookup with him!” But as the story progressed and their relationship to, I see their relationship becoming a Brother-Sister type of bond . . I see Toji caring for his baby sister and wanting nothing but happiness for her while MC leans towards him as a escape zone for comfort. The way Toji makes her smile without much effort makes my heart melt but I don’t feel butterflies like that. I don’t think MC looks at him in that sense and is most likely using him (well not ‘using’ him) as an asset to begin her career. Like it’s a friend looking out for a friend :) I’m sorry to everyone who supports the Toji x MC trope but I support their relationship whatever if is our Author plans in the end!

This whole story got me going nuts and this is my first time sending in an Ask to you! Thank you again for making Friday’s interesting since all my family sees from me are tears and a runny nose 🥲💜

After that emotional ending in chapter 8, I went to listened to the SN song playlist to comfort my heart and soul. The song that stood out was Harry Styles’ Falling and I decided to watch the music video as well. Someone in the comment section interpreted the music video, saying, “And after drowning himself, he realizes how he can try to start again, even when it’s really hard to recover from what he’s been through. That’s why the beginning is actually the end, with the water in the room going down, he playing the wet piano again and resting.”

It made me think, what if SN’s open ending is like that? Very simply, Gojo and y/n do separate, the merging wouldn’t happen, Gojo would lose y/n and his chance at being CEO, and Sera seems like she wouldn’t stick with him through all of this (seeing that she only likes the idea of his perfect self). Gojo will essentially hit rock bottom and wallow in regret as y/n moves on. In my mind, y/n wouldn’t necessarily move on to another relationship but move on with her career and loving/caring for herself. At some point, Gojo will find a way to forgive himself and move on from the past as well; he’ll find it in himself to let go of the agony that has tormented him (i.e. reconcile with his mom). And maybe years later, a mentally healthy Gojo and a heart healthy y/n would cross paths again, and it’ll be an open ending to whether or not they end up together again. But ultimately, they both are at peace and have forgiven each other. I also like to think that even during the time they were apart, they continued to have love for each other.

The way you’ve written the emotions of wanting that familiarity of a relationship but feeling like you’re not good enough is spot on scarily so. You’re an amazing author I hope you know. Just like y/n here I had a snapping point where I went OFF on my abuser; except I was at a safe position to leave since he was leaving for the navy. DMBJ 2010 Nangongling Interview Translated

I’ve finally (poorly) translated the infamous Nangongling interview with Nanpai Sanshu (aka Xu Lei, author of DMBJ)! 

This is where that famous quote, ‘My lifetime, in exchange for you a decade of innocence and purity’ comes from. More on that here.

Interview Context: First off, in case you don’t already know, NPSS started DMBJ off as a fanfiction. And more on that here. Hence, his style of engagement with fans will be much more direct and why he’s very... knowing of the fandom world. And why the interview does not hesitate to ask about pingxie.

This interview seems to have been conducted somewhere on the internet in 2010 or nearing it. Although I couldn’t find more confirmation on its ‘authenticity’ so to speak, I also haven’t seen anything to the contrary that this might be made up. (Chinese internet is a strange, strange place...)

Here’s the version I’m basing this off of.

Translation Context:

Ok first, I’m a native Chinese speaker, but grew up in the US and not fluent in reading / writing. I am not at all familiar with a lot of idioms, let alone internet slang and pop culture references (of which there are a lot in this interiew), so there will be a lot of guessing. Anyone who knows better, free free to point it out.

Text Legend:

Original text sometimes had random forward slashes in between what seems should be one word / term. My guess is it might be to skirt censorship?

Names Context:

They use a lot of different ways to refer to the various characters and NPSS

The interviewer calls NPSS ‘Your Majesty’ or ‘Sanshu’ a lot. But Sanshu can also refer to Wu Sanxing... so it gets confusing a bit.

Zhang Qiling can be anything from Menyouping to Pingzi to Lao Meng to Meng... just... anytime there’s ‘Meng’ or ‘Ping’ or ‘Zhang’ it’s safe to assume they’re referring to ZQL.

Wu Xie is often just Wu Xie or Tianzhen

Nangongling is the name of the interviewer

1. Sheepleb interactions, I don’t care with whom - I need sheepleb my beloved to interact with people for reasons. I know the sheep-shifting may only last for 1 minutes but that’s 10 rounds, surely enough to get some sweet RP in.

YES Cad grab the sheep yes YASHA SCRATCH THAT BELLY sheepleb interactions my beloved. Jester yes make sheepleb move his cute little ears I love y’all. YES SHEEPLEB chew on Yasha’s coat. I never knew I would love a sheep but I do now apparently. Yasha continuing to pet sheepleb and continuing to hold Caleb after he shifts back I love her so much-

2. Caleb or Beau accidentally and telepathically speak to people by thinking too loudly. I can’t wait for their reactions, it will be hilarious.

Well, Caleb did so but more deliberately, and it was more enlightening than hilarious lol.

3. Beau and Caleb discover the third function of their eyes (if dark vision is included in true sight, then they are missing one feature).

Nope, the eyes were used against them again to expose their locations, but haven’t ever been used for mind control yet, so I’m okay with that.

4. Beau and Caleb do not gain any new eyes (pretty please, come on).

I mean they have bigger problems but yeah I got what I wanted!

5. Wait no it’s the astral sea there is no wild magic effect anymore :( but can they at least encounter some unique astral sea creatures, features or something as fun as Aeorian wild magic.

Well... That was a lot of astral sea creatures. More precisely creepy meaty enemies. I think it was fun! In a horrifying way, but fun.

6. Someone mentions Yussa and discuss the probability of saving him (honestly though I don’t know how that’s going to work).

Jester mentioned Yussa pretty soon but I think they are a bit... preoccupied to save anyone at the moment, oops.

7. Getting closer to the city and discovering more of its nature/power/how to stop it.

Wow that city description is cool oh boy I got chills from the empty city suddenly bustling with people. Also that Caleb telepathy experiment is so creepy and terrifying. Is the city alive?! With flesh and teeth?! EuughhHHh. Timorei the terrified rebel/Fear they first met (who seemed to be on Lucien’s side), with Elatis and Luctus opposing him? The Aether crux??! Ira/Wrath who acted in a sort of beast-like way and seemed antagonistic towards Mirumus and Gaudius?? It’s good to know the Somnovem are in fact far from one mind - their opinions seem pretty divided. Aether crux might be the way to go, couldn’t they just destroy all the Somnovem, since they want M9 to kill some of them anyways? Does the entire city function like a living body?

8. Beau and Yasha continue to flirt even in the astral sea and travel side-by-side or physically interact.

Twin initiative 21 yeah let’s go- wait when I said physical interaction I didn’t mean it like that come on!! Stop hitting each other. Also Yasha’s small “I love you but” aww. It was still a little bit flirty somehow lol loved it. ALSO the air kiss was so cute I can’t with these two and their awesome PDA. They also searched the building together!

9. Jester really doting on Artagan/Sprinkle like she never did before.

I mean, she paid him way more attention that’s for sure :D

10. Jester and Fjord have a longer one-on-one conversation or fight like a badass battle couple that they are.

Hey they were both great in combat and explored together! 

11. Obligatory wish for Essek’s fancy dunamancy or magical items (Bonus: we get to see one of those high-damage AOE offensive spells that he couldn’t cast).

AYY LIGHTNING BOLT HYPE! It was sort of an AOE too! Loved his flair as always. It’s not dunamancy technically but I’m counting it because cool purple-black spell.

12. Obligatory wish for Caleb’s polymorph spell (sheepleb was perfect, GIVE ME MORE).

Nope, but the sheepleb we got was awesome. 

13. Tiny Veth interactions with party members (Bonus: with Fjord, or sheepleb).

Nope, the effect probably didn’t last long? Or they just forgot about tiny Veth lol.

14. The party members try to reach Molly through Lucien and Lucien reacting more to things that they say.

They didn’t catch up to Lucien at all, but I have a feeling that they will next episode.

15. They catch up to Lucien and Cree somehow and manage to stop them from returning the city to the world (or at least start the combat).

Combat was started at the end of the episode with Cree! They did catch up to Cree! This is going in the right direction at least.

16. Successful divine intervention from Cad or Jester.

At least Cad and Jester both tried! They weren’t successful, but still.

17. Yasha decides to brute force through a problem and succeeds like the true Barbarian that she is.

I mean, all the combat is brute-force and Yasha did eliminate one of the flesh horror monsters with her cool holy avenger swing!

18. Someone pushes the big red button and derails them.

Nope! They’ve been focused and on task and that’s good! 

19. The wizards and their complicated whatever it is being addressed or developed more.

Not Caleb smirking at Essek using fire bolt then proceeding to use one himself and get a natural 20 I- that was so cool?? What?? Have I mentioned that I love those wizards because I love them. They also float the fastest of course.

20. Heroes’ feast/short rest or a long rest that they well deserve (Bonus: they have great rolls on the HP).

Nope, but I mean they probably need one soon.

21. Obligatory wish for Essek’s room in the tower.

Yeah nah this one is just a permanent feature on the wish list don’t mind it.

22. Oblitagory wish for Cad being a MVP in and out of combat.

Cad turned Caleb back (baaaaaaye sheepleb I love you), healed the group and discovered a lot about how the city worked, including using decompose. 

23. Veth being thirsty for Davexian still, or for whatever other Astral sea creature they are going to meet.

“Want to do some apple picking?” LMAO I’m not gonna count that of course but it was funny.

24. Obligatory wish for everyone to remain relatively happy and alive by the end of the episode except Lucien and Cree (they can perish, but now I kinda want Lucien to not die since he had some strange reactions), and the episode ends on a terrifying cliffhanger as always.

Welp, that took a turn. I did not expect so much Eldritch horror and expected way more humour (which in hindsight was unwise considering how the story is going lol), but honestly I’m not complaining one bit. Matt’s voice acting and everybody’s performance are top notch and the world-building is just *chef’s kiss*, terrifying or not. 

Bonus:

The subtitles said “bleating” when everybody yelled before the opening theme I’m dead lmao also “some a bit sheepish”, courtesy pun of the DM.

Poor Essek had to start the combat on low HP, sadness. To be fair, our wonderful DM was busy playing many characters and giving beautiful expositions and the players were busy being captivated by all that!

Cause nana and erwin will be too gentle! I think Mike will being sarcastic and stand out for their friends and talk shit to Lara tho) hahahaha

Second,

Hange give comfort to Levi when they back to the hotel? I kind of imagine Levi being sad and miserable with his thought again after Cave and Hange show up in front of their room! Ask them if they want to talk. Of course the Levi we know will says no (or maybe yes) but he actually wanted Hange to stay or maybe talk with them a little bit but then Hange ready for that answer and suggests arm wrestle with Levi, if hange win, hange stay! If levi win, hange leave! (Cause I really like the arm wrestle scene, I think it is really cute!) So eventually Hange win (baby boy is shy with their thoughts) and Hange saying that Levi is not all invincible!!! (Just being sweet and let Levi less embarrassed!) And they talk for a while, maybe Levi fall asleep while Hange talk or the other way round! hahahahahaha

Third,

I kind of think Levi will go with Hange or Erwin for the last part of chap 23 there? (But I tho erwin busy with his business and unable to leave) But maybe not also hahahah

About Hange's date! Gosh, I imagine Hange go through different horrible date like ppl doesn't recognize their beauty or understand her and she want to call like onya or nana or mike and levi is otw for something else and find hange and bring them back to their apartment to get cozy or cheer them up a bit! Or maybe one of the date being creepy and follow Hange! The shine armour Levi come and help them!

for the drabble game; so oc is at a restaurant and hears a couple having an argument at the table beside her. and when she made eye contact with one of them she realised that the man is namjoon, the ex she never got over. perhaps exes to lovers? ive had this idea for a long time and i think itll be interesting to see how the story follows!

it’s him.

you knew at first glance, since the moment you took the seat facing him a few tables away. after all, you’d be disappointed in yourself if you couldn’t recognize the other half of what made the supposed ‘power couple’. you’d always laugh at that name - it started out as a joke in your circle of friends and eventually spread far and wide.

it was because namjoon was the top student in his class and you were the student council president. the underlying humor in it was that while namjoon was exceptionally good at studying, you were the opposite - excellent social skills (which was what made you land the president post), can work well under pressure but failing in terms of grades.

“you’re perfect for each other!” jungkook - that little shit of a junior, you hope he’s doing well wherever he is now - had declared with barely contained laughter when namjoon looked like he was a second away from banging his head against the desk in the student council room as he tutored you. that was something coming from someone with patience higher than half of the people you’ve ever known and you’ve known and worked with a lot of people since becoming president.

in the end, you passed - got better grades than you expected and retired as president without any regrets.

so when you see him five years later while you’re having dinner with your colleagues and he seems to be on a date with the woman whose back is on you, you don’t exactly know what to do or say except pretend like you don’t know him.

the woman’s voice is getting higher with each sentence. and you’re not the only one who noticed.

“couples who make a scene are the worst.” eunbi grumbles - you chalk it up with the fact that she’s had a particularly bad day at work what with the director pressuring her to finish three reports all within this week.

‘everyone has their bad days,’ is what you’re about to say out of pure reflex but it’s in that moment that your eyes meet namjoon’s. he still has that effect on you - the heart skipping, breath hitching kind. from the way his eyes widen slightly at the sight of you, you know he’s not pretending to have only spotted you. it’s genuine, unbridled surprise. whether good or bad, you don’t know.

you’re not sure what to do - should you wave? mouth a friendly ‘hi’? or just shoot a smile? either way none of them suit your situation - you don’t deserve an ounce of his attention after pulling the biggest dick move, packed your things while he was away on a seminar and letting him know it was over when he came back to an empty home and emptier bedroom two days later.

the woman’s voice - it’s full out screaming now - catches his attention. it happens within less than one minute, heated exclamation of ‘you never listen!’ her standing up with her handbag hoisted over her arm before storming out of the restaurant.

namjoon doesn’t go after her immediately - you knew he wouldn’t leave without apologizing to the server and bowing to the staff as along the way.

the second time you see him is about over a month later at the same restaurant. it’s been a tough day - your manager is pressuring your team for at least three new designs so the client could choose which one they like better and they need to get done by this monday so you only have five days from now.

a shadow had towered over the table while you were looking through the menu and you thought it was the waiter.

“hey,” he shoots you that signature dimpled smile, so free of hatred or resentment - you don’t deserve it. “mind if i sit?”

but the smile falls off his face a heartbeat after he said that - it’s replaced with a sheepish one, probably because he went ahead without considering if you were waiting for someone and he just asked if he could third wheel -

“sure,” you say simply, offering a smile that doesn’t exactly match the familiarity in his.

instead, the conversation treads on your present life. he’s currently working at a law firm somewhere in the neighboring city. it’s no secret that he loves his job from the way he talks about it and the stars that glint in his eyes - they’re the same stars you fell in love with. that eagerness to learn new things and help others with the knowledge he gains - he hasn’t changed one bit.

“you know i thought you’d be teacher,” you don’t know how you sit here and regard him so casually but build your walls up so high as if he’s a stranger, “you were always so good at tutoring.”

he must have noticed because the chuckle that tumbles out of his mouth is a little strained and he’s looking down at his plate of spaghetti more times than you can count - the namjoon you knew always looked at people in their eyes when he’s talking to them.

your heart clenches at the thought that he probably regrets joining you for dinner. probably swore not to come here on -

“on thursdays.i came by last week to and the week before last week.” this time, he’s looking right into the windows of your soul and you don’t dare let your thoughts wander to the what-ifs.

and it seems you don’t have to because he’s already confirming the subconscious thoughts swirling in the back of your mind.

“i wanted to see you again.” he nervously rubs the back of his neck as though finally realizing how ridiculous it sounds to be dropping by a restaurant that’s an hour from his place just for a strike of luck - a wishful thinking, that he’d see you again.

he did, but-

“why?” all of a sudden the memories are burning at the back of your eyes, those library dates, his coffee order that you memorized by heart, the impromptu weekend trips - all that ruined because of you, “why would you do something so  uncertain? you don’t even know if i’ll come here again or ever.”

namjoon isn’t one to beat around the bush - he may not find the words to explain his emotions, yes but he’s always been the one to wear his heart on his sleeve. and the answer painstakingly obvious as his brows furrow and his eyes glisten with a sort of fear for the uncertain - just like that time he asked you out all those years ago.

“i just - it’s the only lead i have on you.”

Shanna, I came home after work and huddled in bed to read the first chapter of raising the barre, and it did not disappoint!! I find your writing to be so soothing, and I’ll be the first to admit that re-reading your stories is something of a comfort to me these days. I don’t know much about dance, but I’m super excited to learn about it as the story unfolds. Reading this first installment about her beginning her first year of college had me sooo nostalgic. (1/13) Ahh, yeah I just went over to the shower scene again, the scenes before and after it, and maybe because I was really immersed in Taem’s perspective at looking at things – I quite literally took it as is, like Jong had mood swings, not sure why and that’s it? But there IS something fragile in Jong, he acted oddly, and you are right that Taem does feel helpless and stuck in his own thoughts… it’s kinda hard to see the scenes unfold without Taem’s opinion on it right hahaha

(6) LOL yeah that is true you do know ~ the truth~ lol but perhaps you telling us that Taem is an unreliable narrator might help us? Lol might help us to doubt everything but literally will not help us to actually see the things, the scenes, the people, the relationships as is? honestly that is one of the big mysteries – everyone gets along so well with Key! And, for sure I’m taking everything with a grain of salt but still can’t help but feel sad for Taem :( obviously, since we are in his head

I mean if you come to think of it, Taemin got along well with Kibum as well in the beginning until he started developing feelings for Jonghyun and realized – or thought that Kibum is the one intervening with the happiness he could experience with Jonghyun.^^ I mean Kibum doesn’t do much, he just lives the typical life of a university student and enjoys himself - we can’t blame him for doing that. 

(7) Right right as Taem is an unreliable narrator, I can’t tell lol but either way you are right, with or without intentions, humans are humans and we don’t know anything. Knowing that if Minho DID have intentions only add spice in the story but not really change the fact that he might be giving out bad advice unintentionally, like maybe he could have ulterior motives in general, but not particularly on that advice, does it make sense hahaha ^^;;

(8) Ahhh yeah I think maybe the scene in chapter 8 made it clearer of the emotional frustrations that Taem had with Jong? I think even the fact that you added 25k words alone on this chapter I think signifies that Taem was going through his head a lot, muddling his thoughts and frustrations with Jong? To kinda show that maybe not THAT much time has passed by, but surely in Taem’s head it feels like forever – with some many thoughts and feelings going around :(

I think why it does feel like a long time, although it’s just one semester – is the fact that they share a living space – and see each other constantly. That’s a completely different premise in contrast to people meeting out in the wild and meeting up for a cup of coffee now and then, or something the like. So the time Taemin spent with Jonghyun most likely felt far more intense to him.

(9) Dramatic Taem even reading the bible hahaha I really enjoy the biblical references though, most of the time they are funny references on how he compares something trivial to a bible thing xD Oh! Ah – that’s interesting that you thought Jonghyun would be another siren. :o Jonghyun was supposed to be Selene first – but I thought that was 1) too obvious and 2) the story of the sirens and Persephone actually exists like that and wasn’t completely made up, so it was easier to tie the ends together. And I mean Jonghyun as the goddess of spring? That works well in my head as well. ^^

I’m glad you enjoyed the story so far. Chapter 9 will be a let-down in terms of entertainment value – it’s more of a filler chapter, but I still enjoyed writing it so  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ for me as a writer it doesn’t feel like a filler, but I know it will feel like that to the reader. But I wanted chapter 9 to end on a cliffhanger, that’s why I didn’t add anything to it anymore. I hope chapter 10 will be more enjoyable in that regard again. ^^

Unfortunately Digiformers isn’t currently on AO3. It currently just exists as snippets and tumblr rambles atm. I’d love to have the time to work on it more and get more stuff done for it though. As for what happens next, well, see... The problem is I wasn’t quite sure exactly what was going to happen next myself. It feels like there’s several ways that bit could go.

I’m trying to figure out exactly how Megatron reacts to learning that one of his generals has been pals with one of the Automons all this time (probably not well to say the least)

I think Jazz keeps trying to reach out to Soundwave. She’s still his friend and he doesn’t want that to change (and he is holding the Crest of Friendship after all). However, Soundwave has no clue what to do. She’s prided herself on being The Reliable One, and now... she feels she’s unreliable to her friend and unreliable to the digicon cause. She tries to hide her anxieties about this but it eventually builds up and her Crest is unable to work, and she goes from Megatron regarding her as one of his most dependable general to being dead weight.

It’s from there I’m trying to figure out exactly where it should go. I’m trying to figure out whether Soundwave would end up luring Jazz into some type of trap or not. If so it would probably be more under the influence of the dark spores, which slowly start taking over Soundwave. Or whether Soundwave is someone too loyal to try something like that.

Though there does come a point where the dark spores completely take over Soundwave’s personality and she becomes almost completely emotionless and dedicated to the Digicons (marked by both her and Starscream getting a change in costume based on their TFP designs)

...Oh wow.  She’s thanking John that she got a chance to be happy in this side timeline, even if so many other people suffered.  Because of the fucking hell Dirk was about to unleash on her in the Meat timeline.  Fuck.

ROSE: In the silly wizard story I wrote when I was a child, ROSE: The realm most comparable to heaven existed in a state of subliminal conditionality, dependent on the inscience of the individual experiencing it. ROSE: Which is to say that it would cease to exist the moment you realized what it was. ROSE: And so, those with knowledge could never truly be happy.

Oh wow, huh.  Yeah, knowing you’re just in a fanfic kind of screws your appreciation for life around you, huh.  So John got fucked over a bit by his metatextual awareness.  :(

And... Rose was, like, cut off by his choice from her own metatextual awakening, maybe?  Hence her ability to appreciate a life somewhere disconnected from anything “canon”?

ROSE: But that isn’t me anymore. ROSE: I am blind against the veil of this world. ROSE: It’s all ambrosia to me. ROSE: I don’t care if it’s not true. I care even less if it’s not canon. ROSE: I have a beautiful wife who I love more than I thought possible, and a daughter who I am immeasurably proud of. ROSE: It can all be senseless, ephemeral noise that dissolves in the void. Alright, this might be a pretty good way of accepting their potential happiness in different timelines as a potential substitute for Dirk’s mess.  I’m not sure HOW well I’ll be able to internalize it to stop the stomach cramps, but we’ll see.

I took my dog for a walk, went to work, and now I'm home getting ready for bed still feeling overwhelmed with fear for Anna. Logically, I know she's your main character, you wrote her years ago, people who read AMG on 1dff have been asking for this story, we're still relatively early in the story itself. Still scared. Still resentful of you posting this leading into your well deserved weekend (and kind of proud, because it's a badass move to leave us wanting). Feel free to ignore me.

[23:10:56] <maxwellelvis> It looks like the sixties weren't kind to her. [23:11:25] <Wackd> So Crystal, who's out having a hot dog with Ben and Johnny, isn't feeling well. [23:11:34] <Wackd> Classy.

[23:12:48] <Wackd> Some mysterious stream of lights appears in the sky and a building starts collapsing. Ben and Crystal help prop it up, but then Crystal faints. [23:13:03] <Wackd> JOHNNY: "She's--out cold! This never happened to her before!" [23:13:26] <Wackd> Yeah, I mean, to Sue plenty, but I'll give them this--I don't think Crystal's ever randomly conked out after an action sequence. [23:13:34] <maxwellelvis> Usually it takes an army of Sentries to KO her, right? [23:13:48] <Wackd> Well, this never happened to her before. Or at least something I personally feel is worth remarking upon. And a good sign that we're moving away, at least a little, from the need to ape Kirby at every turn. [23:17:09] <Wackd> So, back at the lab, Reed is working on a cure for Ben. [23:17:21] <Wackd> And we get a flashback to the night the Four became, well, the Four. [23:18:06] <Wackd> Now, initially, Kirby had drawn human Ben as a bit wider than Reed or Johnny, but as his style solidified (and the man got to know his limitations a bit), he started to look more and more like "generic human with brown hair." [23:18:27] <Wackd> Here, we see Romita give human Ben a fairly wide jawline, marking a return to him finally having a different goddamn character model. [23:19:36] <maxwellelvis> "Generic human with brown hair" So like the split second we see him in the intro for... any given Fantastic Four cartoon? [23:19:45] <Wackd> Yeah. [23:20:15] <Wackd> So, Johnny bursts in to Reed's lab, Crystal in his arms. [23:20:20] <Wackd> What's Sue doing during all this? [23:20:23] <Wackd> Go on, guess. [23:20:29] <maxwellelvis> I think him having a wide jaw stays in the few times he's seen as a human after this. [23:20:33] <maxwellelvis> It makes him a bit more recognizable. [23:27:49] <Wackd> Before Sue can pursue this thing, uh. A guy pulls up in a car behind her and starts shouting at her to stop. [23:28:07] <Wackd> Weirder yet, this guy knows Sue. [23:28:25] <Wackd> It's not someone we've seen before but, like, Sue reacts as though this guy has been a recurring character for years. [23:28:40] <Wackd> "Dr. Zolten Rambow! What are YOU doing here?" [23:29:03] <Wackd> 1. Holy shit that's an amazing name. [23:29:28] <Wackd> 2. I didn't add that emphasis. Feel free to imagine her saying it like Phelous. [23:29:53] <Bocaj> I was imagining Bojack Horseman [23:31:02] <Wackd> So Dr. Zolten Rambow insists that this thing has an intelligence because if you squint at it long enough you can see a guy inside. [23:31:04] <Wackd> Sue buys it. [23:31:42] <Wackd> She won't rule out the possibility that it's here to destroy us, though. [23:31:49] <maxwellelvis> Damn it, Quicksilver, this time you've gone too far! [23:32:51] <Wackd> Okay, look, I know Ben's crack about getting a doctor earlier was a joke, but it was also a good suggestion! What are you DOING, Reed?

[23:33:42] <Wackd> So, good news, bad news. [23:34:22] <Wackd> The good news is that Crystal's blood contains some "rare chemical ingredient" that could make Ben human again. [23:34:44] <Wackd> The bad news is that Crystal needs to go back to the Inhumans because, uh. *sigh* [23:34:55] <maxwellelvis> Is it Terrigen? I bet it's Terrigen. [23:35:05] <Wackd> Because she can't survive in the air pollution we humans live in daily. [23:35:11] <Wackd> And Inhumans have no pollution. [23:35:24] <maxwellelvis> Oh boy, HERE WE GO [23:36:07] <maxwellelvis> It's about 1972 in the comics, right? [23:36:10] <Wackd> This has somehow failed to come up for, like. [23:36:12] <Wackd> Five years. [23:36:32] <Wackd> This is our last comic of 1970. [23:36:45] <maxwellelvis> Ah. [23:36:58] <Wackd> This...this is actually the five-year anniversary of Crystal's first appearance. [23:37:04] <Wackd> Some celebration. [23:37:08] <maxwellelvis> But I think it's still as environmentalism was... about to, I think, become a big issue. [23:37:21] <Bocaj> Mutants: "The atmosphere has become poisonous to us!" Inhumans: "Hahahah welcome to our world, buddy!" Mutants: "No but seriously lets have a big event comic about this" [23:37:35] <maxwellelvis> Shoving her aside for the sake of a contrived Green Aesop [23:38:00] <Bocaj> It later comes up that the Inhumans invent a serum that Inhumans can taken an survive the outside world. [23:38:16] <Bocaj> And then Crystal overuses the serum and goes into a coma. Also she was cheating on Quicksilver with a real estate agent [23:38:26] <Bocaj> He does not take it well. [23:38:43] <Bocaj> The moral of the story is that nobody should get married in marvel [23:38:56] <Wackd> I'm not sure how to take Ben instructing Reed to fix Crystal as soon as Reed's done fixing Ben. [23:39:14] <Wackd> On the one hand, this is life threatening. And Ben hasn't actually gotten Crystal's permission to harvest her blood. [23:39:24] <Wackd> On the other hand, at least it's neeeaaar the top of his list of priorities. [23:41:07] <Wackd> So Crystal calls for Lockjaw, and has a heartfelt goodbye with Reed, Ben, and Johnny. [23:41:16] <Wackd> And then leaves. [23:41:29] <Wackd> Sue's still out dealing with this rampant glowing destruction ball, by the way. [23:41:52] <maxwellelvis> Also this being the last issue of 1970 means my theory of where Dr. Zolten Rambow's name came from. [23:42:00] <Wackd> Which, uh, I guess we're not gonna acknowledge again? Because Johnny storms off to mope and Reed and Ben get started on turning Ben human for the umpteenth time. [23:42:20] <maxwellelvis> Because First Blood isn't published until 1972, and isn't made into a movie until... 1982 [23:42:25] <Wackd> Lotta urgency and tension in this comic about New York getting destroyed. [23:43:20] <Wackd> OOP! No, okay, Johnny spots Sue trying to fix this while he's moping, and beats himself up a bit for forgetting about it. [23:43:30] <Wackd> Unfortunately, it's also sapping his powers, so he's not much help. [23:44:53] <Wackd> ...this is deeply weird to me but I guess there's no actual REASON it wouldn't work?

[23:45:22] <MousaThe14> It's because we always assume her constructs are solid [23:45:24] <Wackd> In my head Sue's force fields are, like. Hitting them is like a bird hitting a glass window. [23:46:01] <MousaThe14> Same here, but then, there technically isn't reason why they can't be softer other than imagination alone [23:46:03] <maxwellelvis> I guess Sue can control the density of her forcefields. [23:46:09] <TaggIRC1> Maybe she can control how-Ninjask'd [23:47:19] <Wackd> So Sue manages to trap this thing in a force field, but apparently that only works because the being can't see the force field and so doesn't know to disable it. [23:47:36] <Wackd> So they gotta find Reed to fix this mess somehow before the being figures out it's being held. [23:48:26] <Wackd> The strain of Sue holding up the force field is weakening her. [23:48:39] <Wackd> Is it because this thing is so powerful, or is it because Sue is a woman? You be the judge! [23:50:38] <Wackd> And so our cliffhanger! See, Reed's in the middle of turning Ben human. If he stops now, "the shock to his nervous system means we can never try again! He may not even recover from the withdrawal!" [23:51:01] <Wackd> Whereas if he doesn't rush to Sue's aid, this thing will probably kill her. [23:51:19] <Wackd> How will he decide who to save? [23:51:30] <Wackd> It's probably a third option honestly but whatever. Cliffhanger! [23:54:21] <Wackd> It'd also be nice if we, the audience, weren't conditioned to think that any attempt to turn Ben human would have absolutely zero long-term repercussions.
