I have successfully finished the Fynni pet intro quest! :D Those giant lions kicked my ass but I had a ton of rez tokens in my inv. And I used a decent amount of my mounts as bait
Ayy congrats! You now have access to one of the best passive gold making schemes in the entire game.
This might look like a lot of information and I know charts aren't like, people's favorite thing to see but to put it really simply
You can have up to 4 Blossoming Cages in your homestead at any one time, normally you would blossom the fynni gems into whistles and then use those whistles to obtain high leveled fynni pets you can then sync with your main pet to empower it.
This isn't a bad thing to do at all as battle pets are extremely viable and enable you to actually run Mag Mell's two dungeons since you need to have a pet summoned for those as a sort of mechanic/gimmick.
However, if we put that on hold for just a moment and focus on the random talking deer named Fionnait we can see a very different use for those gems/whistles.
Fionnait will buy 30 whistles per day from the player, which is a limit we're not going to worry about because we're going to be as lazy as possible about this.
Now there's basically two routes you can go for this method,
The first is the easiest, you basically just collect a bunch of A rank gems (which drop from a ton of enemies and can also be bought from Fionnait using the Gold-Lead Pine Cones she gives you) you do this once a day, dropping off your A ranks in each of your 4 cages, and blossoming the gems from yesterday into whistles for 4 x 40k or a total of 160k per day which amounts to 1,120,000 every week all for literally logging in 5 minutes to sell your whistles.
The Mag Mell dungeons are available on the Dungeon Guide towards the bottom and can be used as a free teleport to Mag Mell to quickly get to Fionnait. As you rank your blossoming skill the time needed to blossom the whistles will go down, you can also get special cages to help reduce the time; however using this method of once a day whistle trading you don't need to even worry about any of that since it won't impact the times enough to make a real difference.
The second method is a little more involved, and basically has you doing multiple trades of rank C's once you have the ranks necessary for them to take around 7 - 8 hours per blossom. Personally I like this method less, it requires you to log roughly when you wake up to begin blossoming a set of four, then 8 hours later you need to come back and blossom another batch.
So does this method actually result in more money? Well you get 25k per whistle, just slightly above half what you get for an A rank (that of course being 40k.) So doing the quick math, yes; if you even get in two trades a day the result is 200,000 a day a full 40k more than you would make otherwise, which is equivalent to selling another A rank. The overall difference is about 280k as you'll make 1,400,000 a week using this method over the easier once a day method.
But if you really wanted to go this route I recommend basically doing a batch when you wake up, one more after that; and a final batch when you go to sleep. At first it'd be kind of slow, but after you get the cycle going it would look something like waking up and collecting last night's batch for your first 4, then blossoming 4 more. Now 8 hours later (so like when you get home from work or whatever) you pick up your second batch of 4 and set up another 4. If you have a 16 hour wake/sleep cycle (which is apparently average for how long a human can stay up comfortably) then you'll have time to pick up that batch of 4 and set up another before you go to bed.
Which yes, you did read that correctly, Once you get the ball rolling here you're not just doing 2 batches; you'd be doing roughly 3 per day, which does in fact mean you'd be getting 25k per each whistle, 4 whistles per batch for 100k per batch, and 3 batches a day for a profit of 300k per day or 2,100,000 per week.
If you ever REALLY needed gold, and didn't mind literally logging in about 2 - 3 times a day for all of 5 minutes to set up and sell fynni whistles you can make a ton of money super passively.
And the best part?
This whole bunch of calculations is only for one character.
Since gold is shared across an entire account, if you have multiple characters who happen to be able to clear the requirements to start blossoming fynni gems (which is fairly easy, even more so now that Blaanid can basically boost your characters to level 20k with minor effort outside of the generation quests.) You can trade whistles on every single one of your characters.
Which might sound like a lot of work, but if you're someone who happens to already have a good few characters who could reasonably get their hands on fynni gems maybe once a week, you're literally earning anywhere between an extra 1.2m to 2.1m depending on the amount of effort you want to put into it.
Personally I couldn't imagine doing the 3 times a day C grade whistle trading on all my characters every day, that's too much; but to put it lightly if I did do it for even just 1 week...
I have 9 characters, that's 300k per day multiplied by 9 characters for a total of 2,700,000 per day, or 18,900,000 per week.
Now because I have the autism that makes me enjoy pointless math but I have the home of sexual that makes me really bad at math I'd like to also make an argument here that if we take load times, sell times, and travel time into account.
I'm probably spending about 2 - 3 minutes per character, for 9 characters. Reasonably, to log in, go to my homestead, collect 4 whistles, set up 4 more, probably takes about 2 minutes, then if I include teleporting to Mag Mell and selling my whistles? Maybe another minute. Hence the "2 - 3 minutes" estimate.
Now if I do that 9 times I'm looking at a total of 27 minutes tops, so we'll round up to afford to load times and such. Let's say I log in for 30 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes 8 hours later, and 30 minutes before bed. In an hour and a half (collectively) I've made 2.7m for literally doing nothing.
I won't discredit anyone saying "BUT THE SET UP!" Sure let's look at that shall we?
Fynni gems don't drop from everything, and we specifically need C ranks; so we need a high concentration of enemies who drop C rank gems.
Thankfully Fynni Gem Ranks are listed in the Taming Journal so we can see a complete list of EVERY SINGLE ENEMY who will drop C rank gems. That list includes:
Flying Swords
Golems
Gremlins
Sprites
Skeletons
Cows
Sahagin
Ghosts
Grumbills
Ice Enemies (Bison, Hyena, Bear)
Lizards
Skeleton Animals
Armor Hounds
Horse
Keep Hounds
Trolls
Gnolls
Slates
Hippos
Alligators
Lions
Balrogs
Cloakers
Okay so that's a pretty lengthy list, but what does it mean?
Well it means two things, for one thing there's a TON of enemies who drop C ranks, and they range from "I could kill this with my eyes closed" to "I might have to have at least one eye open, but I'm fine."
The second, more important thing to note however is that these guys spawn in large packs almost everywhere; it's really easy to find farming spots for C ranks.
For example, there's a TON of ghosts located in Connous out in Metus. Fairly weak and not locked behind a dungeon or anything, so you can easily fly in; get your fill of fynni gems and get out as you please.
Another great example, Sahagin? All over Rundal alongside Skeletons and Flying Swords but if you prefer not being stuck in a dungeon; Scathach beach has a ton of the River Sahagin Fighters/Rangers which also count for the C rank gems.
If you need another possible farming location look no further than Ceo island, home to a ton of Golems and also some Sprites, both C rank gem enemies.
From the Long Horn Gnus in Rano, to the Black-Haired Buffalo in Courcle, Cow type enemies are abundant all over Iria, they can be found in a ton of locations but the ones up in Courcle will be paired around the other animals on the list such as Lions, Hippos, and Alligators.
For Balrogs there's literally a natural bridge in Zardine that always spawns about 2 - 4 Balrogs. They're not my favorite to farm since they're out of the way and sort of slow to kill given how long it takes to run around the bridge because the game loves to spawn them on the opposite side from you. However it works in a pinch.
But wait there's more! Fionnait actually does sell E - A rank gems in her shop, and they cost Gold-Lead Pine Cones. Which you get from every whistle you trade in. Every C rank whistle you sell can give between 5 - 6 Pine Cones, let's low ball it and say 5 is all you get every time.
In the shop a C rank Horse Gem costs 15 Pine Cones, or essentially 3 whistles. This means if we sell 3 batches of 4 a day; we get 12 whistle sales for a total of 60 Pine Cones which is enough to buy another 4 gems straight from Fionnait's shop. So every day you get a full 4 gems back.
So let's say you want to farm the minimum amount possible for a week of profit.
Assuming you start the week with a batch already done (since that's necessary to meet the 2.7m per day numbers) our cost comes out to 16 per day for a week. That's a grand total of 112 fynni gems per character for a grand, grand total of 1008 fynni gems which converts to the aforementioned 18.9m gold.
This isn't taking into account how every day I would get 4 gems back for free from buying C ranks with pine cones, which honestly puts a bit of a dent in it if I'm doing my math right. Since it's essentially the same as reducing the cost from 16 to 12 a day, which comes out to 84 per week or 756 for all 9 characters which is a total of 252 gems. I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty sure that math can't possibly be right but I've been trying to figure out where I went wrong with it and I think it might be accurate? However it's early, I've just finished my coffee; and I'm gay.
I'm also still thinking about this line of dialogue which haunts me for reasons I'll get into in another post:
A. How does Rafaela know what the fuck a frog is?!
B. BACK INTO THE WILDERNESS?! ARE YOU INSANE?! WE ARE COMMITTING ECOTERRORISM. Forget the gods, we've got bigger problems; we have FROGS.
as a final additional note, thanks for the Amatriciana! The existence of which solidifies my theory that Mabinogi takes place on Earth because that's literally Italian food.
Can I be normal about this game for 2 seconds? No.

Fanfics I really liked in April 2023
So. Since I keep a list of what I´ve read anyway (there´s always a list), I will rec all the fics I´ve wholly enjoyed on a monthly basis. Old and new, canon or AU, big or small authors, long or short but nearly always Johnlock (-ish).
“A Quiet Murmuration” by cathedral_carver
Such a cute fic!! Sherlock has to make amends for leaving John behind on a case. He has now idea how to do this so John murmurs a suggestion.
“The Shallow End” by hollyesque
Awesome! Sherlock gets stabbed and might as well die. While John fights for his life we learn a lot about how Sherlock’s aloofness and general “uncaring” behaviour had developed. Brilliant characterization of a more or less coping neurodivergent Sherlock. I especially love "The Shallow End" metaphor and the water/feelings comparison. Great read, made me quite emotional too.
“Croatia-Water-Blue” by hollyesque
Sherlock sufers a breakdown while being on a first case after his the hiatus. John realizes that something is terribly wrong with Sherlock. Trying to help he learns about happend to SHerlock after the Fall and in Serbia. Lovely Hurt/Comfort fic.
“Of Sweat, Sociopathy, Scars and Secrets” by LoloLolly
John deduces that Sherlock is not a high-functioning sociopath. He also discovers the Serbian scars and gets so close to the truth of Sherlock’s personality that there is no more room for lying and pretenting. Things develop from this, finally.
“Radioactive Trees in a Red Forest” by Maribor_Petrichor
Very long (280k) and not one boring word. John’s long painful way into and through rehab, struggling hard to establish a trustful relationship with Sherlock after Mary’s death, dealing with his past and failing before he finally makes it. Heed the tags and buckle up for a hard ride. Bucketfuls of John Whump.
“Trifles Two” by CalaisReno @calaisreno
Ongoing series of ficlets written for prompts. Short and delicious fic snacks, funny or painful but always delightful to read.

I really like TCF, and I'm interested in book binding. So of course I was curious how much "book" would be needed to adapt the whole LN. I knew it was really long, so it'd take a couple big ones to include everything. Then I did some quick calculations and um. Uh. Well, here's a little math:
50k words at the minimum comfortable size and font comes out to approximately 100 pages. The average "largest" size books contains ~600 pages (at minimum size). That being said, it would kill me to read such tiny text for very long. Realistically, a comfortable font size (for me) would be 350 per page at most, so I'll be using that number moving on.
With that in mind, some of the more popular large book series like Eragon (906k total words, largest book having 280k words or 880 (803) pages) and Harry Potter (1M 84k total, largest having 257k or 870 (735) pages).
TCF has approximately 2M 150k words, 776 chapters. In part one. Ok, so... 2,150,000 words, with 1 page being ~350 words... that's 6143 pages. And if we gave each title in the series ~800 pages each, that's still 8 GIGANTIC books. TL;DR:
Eight books, 350 words per page, 800 pages each.
For reference, here's the A Song of Ice and Fire series, 1M 770k words, 4.2k pages (~400 words per page), 5 books total (~840 pages per book).
THAT'S A LOT OF BOOK.
#the trash of the count's family#Sorry the example image has like 10 pixels total LMAO#I was legitimately excited to try and make the series into a legit book that I could hold and show off#But THAT'S A LOT OF BOOK. WOW.#I don't have the patience to bind that many pages#For fun I looked up how long the average reader would take to read 2M words and uh#At average reading speed (300 wpm) it would take you 110 hours minimum. 95 if you're a fast reader (350 wpm)#If you were read for a solid 3 hours every single day it would still take you 32-37 days#If you were insane and burnout wasn't a problem you could read it in 19-22 days at 5 hrs a day#More fun numbers: avg words per chap for TCF is ~2.8k#I don't have that much time so I read about 400 chapters over the course of 1.5 months. That's abt 1.5 hrs of reading a day#Look at me being all healthy and stuff#Ahem. Anyways. I like numbers

yes, I'm reading the shape of me will always be you again
it's so funny too, even on the fourth? pass it makes me laugh out loud so many times.
The apartment is truly awful. I bet someone’s died in it, probably more than one person. Probably quicker to list the tenants who didn’t die in it. Even the building sags between its neighbors, like a drunk man being propped up between two grudging accomplices. I amuse myself imagining what you’d say if you saw it, standing in the centre of the living room in your fucking horrible pristine suit, rolling your eyes in horror. You’d have a stroke. You’d hate it. God, how you would hate it.

ParkWeasel Recs
My ParkWeasel introduction was marvelous: The Secretary by @pacific-rimbaud. (E, 46k). A rough adaptation of the film, it’s a delight and the dynamic I’ve come to expect from this pairing. Threatened with the loss of her trust fund allowance, wild child Pansy Parkinson takes her mother up on an offer she can't refuse: a job at the Ministry of Magic as personal secretary to tightly wound bureaucrat Percy Weasley.
Other completed ParkWeasel fics I’ve read and enjoyed:
From Top to (Cauldron) Bottom by @rainybookshopspoetry. T, 1.5k. Somehow, she finds herself in a secluded alcove listening to Weasley prattle on about cauldron bottoms, of all things, but worst of all, she thinks she might be enjoying it.
Growing Wings by @floorcoaster. T, 2k. Pansy is two things: completely Slytherin and inconveniently in love.
Matchmaking is a Sham (Mostly) by @korabethart. T, 2k. Pansy tries out a matchmaking service, though she doesn't believe it'll work.
ParkWeasel by @frumpologist. T, 2.8k. Pansy Parkinson spends her summer as a camp counselor. Percy Weasley is the bane of her existence during the summer until the two share an epic adventure... and the campers start to ship them together.
Notes on the Temptation of Peter and Heloise by PacificRimbaud. T, 2.9k. Percy Weasley is pleased to accept the Transfiguration professorship at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the 1998-1999 academic year. 8th year student Pansy Parkinson is thrilled.
Tied Up by @ladykenz347. E, 3.6k. (Also Hermione/Pansy and Hermione/Pansy/Percy) Percy was a man in control. Through meticulous care and constant effort, he sorted the details of his life into subsects that were managed by him and him alone. That is, save for one. His girlfriend.
Boyfriend Dick by @fw00shy. E, 3.8k. Percy was the Parkinson accountant. He had no business babysitting Pansy on her birthday yacht. Pansy was turning twenty-one. She was a bloody adult, and she was going to prove it to everyone by fucking the Weasley nerd.
Incensed and Aroused by ladykenz347. E, 4.2k. There is a reason Pansy doesn't like to work with other Departments... and that reason is Percy Weasley.
A Careful Facade by @indreamsink. T, 5k. When Pansy takes a job at Gringotts, she's dismayed to learn she'll be working with Percy Weasley. But beneath his careful walls, she may discover more to him than she first realised.
Heat by floorcoaster. T, 7.3k. There's something going on with the Ministry's temperature controls. Pansy ends up alone with a coworker and together they work to figure out the problem--and how to survive it!
Mile End by PacificRimbaud. E, 8.3k. In London, 1930, Detective Constable Percy Weasley finds himself too close for comfort to his investigation's unavoidable conclusions.
Becoming a Weasley by KoraKwidditch. E, 9.2k. When a Marriage Law is passed, and Pansy is matched to Percy Weasley, her entire life is flipped upside down. Becoming a Weasley wasn't her plan, and now it's all she has.
A handful of @olivieblake works where ParkWeasel is often part of an ensemble cast: How to Win Friends and Influence People (M, 386k), Modern Romance (E, 280k), Divination for Skeptics (M, 98k), and various chapters of Amortentia (M, chapter lengths vary).
Last Drabble Writer Standing ParkWeasel drabble collection (the only time my entry was ever down to the wire, ha. Much respect to those who have an instinctive take on this pairing.)
If these make you a ParkWeasel convert or you want to shout about any of them, I'd love to hear it 💚
If you’re finding this as a reblog, feel free to check my Master List of Recommendations (pinned) for updated rec lists.

Can you recommend some good larry fan fic?
Hello friend
Indeed I can. You haven’t said if you’ve read any fics before or what you like (so feel free to come back and ask for more specific recs if you want), therefore, I have included a list of twelve of my favourites of the classics/popular fics and then long fics and shorter fics below. As with all my fic recs, these are just those which I love atm. I could recommend fics forever, I love so many. Please, please read the tags because some of these are smutty smutty, and others may have various tw’s etc.
Shorter fics (under 50k words)
Secrets don’t make friends by @thedevilinmybrain (33k words)
This is one of my favourite fics, written for the @subharryficfest this is a college au, five times Louis’ crew knew too much and the one time they thought they knew something but were wrong. Features feminisation, daddy kink and a LOT of fluff while being one of the hottest fics I think I have read.
I’ve Kissed Honeyed Fingertips by @grimmpitch (36k words)
Written for @omegaharryficfest, ft feminine harry and protective Louis. I tagged this as ‘Harry is Louis’ baby’ and that is probably one of my favourite characterisations in a fic. Harry is soft, and wonderful, and I love the way the author explores gender norms, the preconceived perceptions of Harry and the impact of that on them and their relationship.
A Hungry Heart by @jacaranda-bloom (28k words)
Great British Bake Off (GBBO) au aka my favourite kind of au of all time, and sadly there are too few fics in my opinion. Ft. famous/non-famous, Louis is a popstar who is a guest judge on the show and Harry is a contestant with a massive crush. Funny and sweet, it’s a lighthearted fic.
let me make a thing of cream and stars by @missandrogyny (25k words)
Louis is a BBC Radio presenter, working with Nick Grimshaw, and Harry is a famous pop-star a guest on the show. This is sweet and fun, and their interactions kept me laughing throughout. It’s a frequent re-read for me when I need something comforting and not too long.
Longer fics (50k+ words)
Down the Line by @sunflouwerhabit (280k words)
I could wax poetic about this for the rest of my life. A wonderful baseball au, with OT5 friendships and a bit of enemies-to-lovers. I know nothing about baseball, and you defo don’t need to to be able to enjoy it, but I think baseball fans will love the detail Lexie manages to capture. I love both Louis and Harry in this fic, the way in which their relationship develops could make me sob every single time. Louis has his own trauma to battle throughout, and the way he works through that and the moments of vulnerability between him and Harry are soft and so well written. I read this as it was posted and it is one of only three fics I have read as a WIP, which should tell you all you need to know.
Soft hands, fast feet, can’t lose by dolce_piccante (113k words)
This was the first Larry fic I ever read and it will always have a special place in my heart. College au ft. fratrry and a bet that goes wrong. I love the exploration of Harry’s character, of American college football and frat culture. Harry is the popular football kid who parties, has a lot of casual sex and has grown up with a fair amount of privilege. Louis is focused, headstrong and independent, he is an athlete too but they have very very different approaches to life and he’s about as disinterested in Harry at the start as it’s possible to be. The fic is full of the sweetest moments between the two, plenty of fluff and plenty of smut as this author is known for.
Leave it to the breeze by @hattalove (81k words)
Apologies, but this will be my second GBBO au fic rec. This is a wonderful fic where both Harry and Louis are competing against one another on the show. Louis is focused and determined to win, while Harry is a wonderful ray of sunshine. I loved every single character and I was rooting for them all.
Every universe but ours by @28finelines (50k words)
Soulmate fic which explores different au’s in which Louis and Harry exist. It made me sob, it made me soft and happy and melancholy. There is much fluff, and some sad bits but it’s a wonderful fic that I don’t think gets even half the attention it deserves. It’s a love letter to their relationship imo, and I love the feeling of destiny throughout this.
Popular fics I love
Tired tired sea by @mediawhorefics (113k words)
You are probably already familiar with this, but I don’t think a general fic rec list is complete without it. TTS speaks to my melancholy soul like nothing I have ever read. There are some wonderful reviews of this fic so I won’t wax poetic about it, but if you haven’t read it then you should. Having said that, if you haven’t read the authors’ other fics either then I’d recommend every single one of them. Through Eerie Chaos is wonderful, but in my opinion my very favourite fic of theirs is The Murmur of Yearning.
Relief next to me by dolce_piccante (343k words)
My beloved, my ultimate comfort fic. This Harry and Louis have the most wonderfully stable and sure relationship I have ever read, it makes my soul happy to read them like this. It’s also highly smutty and features a lot of fluff and some great friendships.
Escapade by dolce_piccante (146k words)
Jack McQueen has my whole, entire heart. This is a wonderful fic, with side Ziall which I don’t come across as often. Louis needs a date to his exes wedding, enter fake boyfriend Jack aka Harry. It’s funny and sweet, and you will cry with laughter throughout Ziall-ympics.
We’ll play hide and seek to turn this around (series) by @wankerville (158k words)
Aka the strawberry milk fic. Harry is so soft, he loves to paint his nails and Louis just wants to be supportive. It’s got that very soft, soulmate-y feel that so many of us love to read in fics. There’s a fair amount of smut and kink exploration, the series deals with some pretty heavy topic, so as always, please read the tags and proceed cautiously.

What's up r/Entrepreneur it's been a while since i've dropped in for a post, hope you all are well.I want to preface this by saying I've done a fairly decent job of documenting my business through posts that can be found on my profile, in short, I've been running a painting business now for 3 years. My goal from the very beginning of this was to keep my team busy. I didn't care about the profit, I would've broken even if it meant making sure my guys had the option to work. I'm pleased to say that still to this day we're fully staffed and have been making it through this storm. Due to having a newborn, I haven't left my house, I'm writing this to showcase how I've been able to run my painting business at close to full capacity.Contrary to the popular subcontractor model, I opted for employees. Although more difficult, times like this prove it to be the better decision overall. They're really making this entire process easy because over the last 3 years we've built such a high level of trust and understanding. I have full confidence in them to perform our jobs to the standard of which they would be performed if I were assuming my normal duties of doing job sight visits.Company background:Our residential house painting company has 10 employees, and our highest grossing year on paper was $921,000 (last year). the prior years were around $560k and $280k. We had our largest month of production in March of this year of $104k.I've always been big about helping other contractors develop systems in their business, and, after taking my own medicine I'm reaping the benefits of this tremendously. Our teams are broken up into two teams. One of 4, one of 5. Our model is simple, each team has a project manager responsible for overseeing the jobs, reporting to me, and collecting the payments. There's been a lot of concern with contractors about the lack of business, however, I've been marketing heavily with HomeAdvisor ever since the inception of my business - the natural thing to do for most business owners is to retreat in times of uncertainty (like this pandemic) but, knowing that this would create a worm hole in the lead distribution for me to capitalize on, I ramped up my spending and have been getting a STEADY flow of house painting leads since.April has been a BUSY month despite everything that has been going on. We will produce $75k worth of jobs, with another $40k on the books for next month. 50% is new business that has been generated remotely. With a steady flow of marketing, we're averaging 6-8 estimates for exterior painting PER WEEK. This is extremely surprising to me, but I'm definitely thankful. Here's how i'm doing it:Marketing & Sales AdjustmentsI've limited my marketing from HomeAdvisor to only send me Exterior requestsI hired my PM's wife to visit each house and simply take pictures of the job. I know that I could easily look it up or ask the homeowner to do it, but I still want to be more than just a quote, so having someone physically show up to the house has been a great way to build trustOnline quoting has been something I preferred to stay away from simply because I'm all about building relationships and trust. So for me, this has been the biggest adjustment, but I always connect with the homeowner before I send the quote. I'll call them and talk about what I saw in the pictures, go over the scope again, explain our processes, and also how we're approaching COVID-19 and social distancing when we work on the houseI've developed an app to help me do cost-based pricing, this helps me accurately quote any job without worrying about measurements and things like that. The purpose of the pictures is to help me get an idea of how much paint I will need.I did receive the PPP loan. This has been a huge benefit. I'm able to cut pricing because the way I see it, this loan is being used and forgiven for payroll, so I don't have to factor in a huge payroll expense. This has helped us sell way more jobs than if I were pricing based on the margins I usually shoot for.Production AdjustmentsWe're only taking exterior paint jobs & empty interiorsHomeowner gets a phone call before the job, during the job, and after the job.Team has been sending me photos of the progress of the workWe're being very cautious about social distancing, and encourage people to stay in their houses while we paint, there's no need to interact. If they don't feel comfortable finding a way to give the PM a check, they can pay online with no additional cost for processing the cardFinancing has been something I've been bringing up a lot, when people want something done in a time of scarcity, there's nothing better than using someone else's money. People have been jumping all over the 0% for 18months financing we offerLessons & AdviceIf you're a business owner and in a similar predicament, you have to adjust. You have to be creative, and you have to get uncomfortable. If you have a team counting on you, my first piece of advice is to price out jobs in a way that guarantees them work. Don't worry about hitting high margins, the focus should be to keep your schedule full.If you're a potential business owner, employees are a great move.Building trust and a foundation of loyal people to come to work for your company and to buy into your vision proves to be the best decision time and time again. There's always a market. It's about how easy it is for those interested in your product or service to find you. In my specific case, I know a very large majority of the contractors in my area shut off their HomeAdvisor leads. Customers are telling me that I'm the only one who's reached out. I'm betting when everyone else is holding, and i'm getting the rewards. Thanks for reading, share some ways you've been adjusting in the comments below! If you care to follow me on Instagram, I'm sharing more of my journey there: IG/TradeThrive. I'm also going to be sharing on r/Paintingbusiness.

Hi there, I have had a rough time recently and I found some comfort a fic that was recommended to me by a follower. “Case Suspect Chase Jump” by monkeysock. I felt it captured mental health and untreated bipolar disorder. I don’t normally read a lot of fics and am always worried the depiction will be stereotypical or something. Do you have any good mental health fics?
Reply: Sorry for the late reply! Yes, I have a lot of fics that deal with mental health. I probably am not the best judge of whether they are good vs. stereotypical depictions, but here are the topic-relevant lists I’ve already put together. Most of these don’t really go into the treatment side of things.
Mental health tag
PTSD tag
PTSD John
PTSD Sherlock
Sherlock imagines/hallucinates John
Sherlock is in a mental hospital
Sherlock is depressed/suicidal
Amnesia (of Sherlock or John)
Eating disorders (scroll to the bottom of the food fics list)
From those, here are some that I feel address the topic more in-depth and seriously, including treatment:
2007 by 7PercentSolution, J_Baillier (151K, M, Gen) Sherlock loses his mind. Mycroft loses control. It's 2007, and the Holmes brothers must come to terms with their demons—and each other.
Bring Me Back to Life by yalublyutebya (51K, E, Johnlock) After being injured on the Front, John Watson is sent to Craiglockhart Hospital for psychiatric treatment and finds himself sharing a room with the mysterious Sherlock Holmes.
Four Corners of the Western World by pennypaperbrain (100K, E, Johnlock) Undercover after Reichenbach, tracking the snipers who threatened his friends, Sherlock has one thing left he can depend on: his mind. But when he faces making his first kill, alone among the mad excesses of Las Vegas, the pressure turns out to be greater than even he can endure without John beside him.
In Confidence by emmadelosnardos (40K, M, Sherlock/OMC) Reason for referral: Patient was admitted to dual diagnosis unit for detox on 27.5.2002. BIB brother, Mycroft Holmes, following arrest for intoxication on 26.5.2002. Pt was under the influence of cocaine when he was admitted. Pt was admitted for 28 days with possible extension to two months. Requested single unit. Request granted by special permission of the Director.
Insanity by The_Cool_Aunt (18K, T, Johnlock) “I’m going to New York,” he replied impatiently. “Do you not listen?” “Sherlock, you’re ill,” Mycroft explained. I could hear what a strain it was to keep his voice level and low. “You are not thinking clearly.”
Lunar Landscapes by J_Baillier (57K, M, Johnlock and Warstan) An accident forces John to face the fact that Sherlock's downward spiral had started long before his flight to exile even left the tarmac.
Radioactive Trees in a Red Forest by Maribor_Petrichor (280K, E, Johnlock) John Watson is what happens when a man can no longer see a reason to go on. John Watson is what happens when a man starts to let go." It is what it is." John Watson is what happens when what "it is" becomes too much to bear. This is a story of the life, death, and resurrection of John Hamish Watson.
The Craven Hive by OldShrewsburyian (35K, T, Gen) In the last days of the First World War, Dr. Watson returns from the service for which he departed in "His Last Bow," and looks for a new kind of work. He joins Dr. Arthur Hurst in his pioneering treatment of shell-shocked soldiers. But their work on the forefront of medical research, locked in battle against the destruction of the war, is disrupted by violent death. In addition to the obvious danger near at hand, there is the risk that this will discredit Hurst’s unusual methods. Dr. Watson does the only thing he can do: he calls in Holmes. The case will require their joint expertise, and all the wisdom of their shared experience.
The Fabric of Life [orphaned] (156K, E, Johnlock and Warstan) The fabric of life rearranges itself around the re-emergence of Sherlock.
You Go to My Head series by J_Baillier (865K, E, Johnlock) This series is an alternate universe one, featuring the exciting medical and romantic adventures of doctors Watson (senior neuroanaesthetist) and Holmes (neurosurgeon).
