The expression on Alice's face is everything to me.

Because she had a mother who loved her and tried to protect her with every little bit of magic she had.

And now she's witnessing a mother who hated her own child since the moment said child was born.

I feel in part that this is Alice realizing that she's not the only one with Mommy Issues™ and that there's a lot more to Agatha Harkness than she was led to believe.

While the argument can be made that Alice was neglected by her mother, as well as abused (forcing a 13yo to get a tattoo???), at least she's become aware just how much her mother cared about her, was scared for her, and tried to protect her.

Evanora Harkness, on the other hand, actively tried to kill her own child. She got together a group of women to kill her daughter. And said "evil" daughter then granted mercy to these killers' children, to her own detriment.

It has to be such a shocking dichotomy for Alice. Especially since, despite being raised by somebody who hated her for the first couple decades of her long life, Agatha still seems to crave her mother's love and approval, which Alice can probably very much relate to.

And then to think of the fact that Agatha was a mother herself. She probably loved Nicholas from the second she found out that she was pregnant. I kind of guess she wanted a girl (another young witch to raise and do it better than the mother who hated her), but was no less thrilled to have her son.

The grief she feels still, after losing him decades - if not well over a century - ago is palpable. She probably told him every single day just how much he meant to her. She probably held him in her arms, marveling at every little detail of his little face, his fingers and toes, his eyes, his smile...and she probably raised him with the love of her life at her side.

And then he was taken from her. Partly by whatever killed him and partly by the love of her life. And it left her broken, grief-stricken, and angry.

Not angry just because Rio took him away (because it was her job), but also because she remembered how own mother trying to kill her and she probably wondered what she had done wrong to evoke such anger in her own mother as she would never try to harm even a single hair on her son's little head.

It was clear in that episode that, as stated above, Agatha still crave's her mother acceptance and affection, even after all she did to her. It's not something you get over very quickly - the burn of your mother's rejection and ire. And, as tough and unflappable as Agatha likes to play it, she is definitely still feeling the pain.

And it's heart-breaking.

Angeal: Sensible, overly-serious, kind of that dad-friend who is perpetually exhausted. The straight man in a sea of chaotic morons. Dedicated and hardworking, totally ready to lecture you for doing something stupid. An overall cool guy who sells himself short but really is the glue holding everything together, even if he gets no credit for it.

Sephiroth: Looks terrifying. Probably IS terrifying. Is actually kind of a soft marshmallow with mommy issues. Oozes trauma at every angle. Can kill you a thousand times over but he's also the group baby so oh well. Melts when given a hug. Outwardly cold and aloof but he would unironically die for you and folds like crumpled wet paper when he's left alone. Also he's a cat.

Genesis: Resident Little Shit™. Theater kid. Edgelord. Loudmouthed hothead who can't stop blowing things up. No one invited him. He came from the dumpster outside of an abandoned Waffle House. Arguably the most interesting person here but his attitude gets in the way of people figuring that out. Also kind of a secret soft baby but shhhh that's a secret. Easy to hate. Easier to love if you actually take time to get to know him.

In love with this concept anon, as much as I love Creator!Darling there's also an appeal to our baby boy getting this stark contrast of someone treating him nicely for the first time and having no idea how to handle it, developing an obsessive attachment but because it's Him™ he just cannot keep it healthy or sane, poor thing.

He finally gets to meet you after hearing about you before, and you're so sweet and gentle while you talk to him, but he just can't pay attention to anything you're saying because he can't un-glue his eyes from your blatantly swollen tits… it's not fair, it's too distracting. He likes to think of himself as mature and self-disciplined, so it's quite annoying and shameful that he feels so captivated, frustrating that he can't stop himself from looking.

Nor can he stop the weird feeling in his chest. Especially if it's shortly after his abandonment — he's in a state of emotional distress and pain, feels so lost and unwanted and here you are all sweet and doting. It's not just that it's a substitution for his Master, rather, you're nicer and sweeter l, in all his life he's never been treated so well.

Master was always so harsh and biting in her tone, always criticizing him, always manipulating him with threats to leave — and until now, that's really all he's known. But you, you're sweet, even if there's more distance between you two because you don't know each other as well. You smile at him and say nice things, you ask him about himself, you tell him to let me know if you need anything.

It feels strange. It's uncomfortable, in a way, feels like someone peering into his mind and heart, it's vulnerable and makes him squirm, yet, it feels good, he likes it, despite the discomfort. He’s not naive nor lacking self-awareness. He can recognize it for what it is from the start, and for that reason, he desperately seals it away early on, knowing it would not work, knowing you have a family, knowing there's a gap in your stages of life and maturity.

But it’s not wrong to notice you like him, right? Even if not in the same way. He knows you feel positively towards him.

It really hits him hard when, once day, there's some virus or another going around, he catches it and ends up having to stay at home sick, in the little lodging he's been provided in the town. He thinks nothing of it until you come knocking on the door.

You sigh in relief when he opens the door, say you were worried when you hadn't seen him all day. Your eyes widen when he explains (with a stammer he hopes you don't notice) that he's sick.

And your reaction feels so foreign. He's used to a sharp glare, a frustrated sigh, being told to suck it up and get over it and stop making excuses. But you, you start to fuss and coo at him, tell him to go rest, say something about how you'll get him some hot tea and run off, leaving him standing there, staring at the empty hall.

You noticed he was absent. He crossed your mind. It makes sense, in a way, but it just feels so… warm, fuzzy.

He crossed your mind. You think about him. You missed him. How much do you think about him? Do you do it every day? How much space in your mind does he occupy? How significant is he to you? There's this swelling feeling in his chest.

But he's often realistic to the point of pessimism, and so he suppresses the childishly hopeful thoughts with bitter self-criticism — telling himself he's being foolish and ridiculous and self-important to think it's anything more than just by chance, that you just happened to think of him for some reason. Taking that innate sense of wishful thinking in the most vulnerable depths of the heart and crushing it himself before reality does it for him. Less painful that way. It doesn't mean anything, he shouldn't hope for anything, he can't let himself form feelings that are just going to bring him pain in the long run.

And he does try to distance himself from you, for some time. It's like a form of addiction — he really does try, but he finds himself moving on a mental-autopilot anyway, seeking you out, letting the words of are you doing anything later? fall out of his mouth on their own and feeling so elated when you happily, willingly spend time with him.

And in time, he even lets himself start to think too much, stops pushing away those absurd thoughts that he knows better than to allow himself to have because he knows that if he has those thoughts and lets them fester, he's just going to get hurt, because the fantasies will never come to fruition, the feelings will never be reciprocated. He lets himself feel some sense of pride and pure bliss and vague sense of irrational hope when you tell him how grateful you are that he takes such good care of your precious girl when you ask him to look after her and how you're so happy he's bonded to her and tell him that she really looks up to him.

Lets himself bask in your praise and lets himself ride the euphoric high a single nice word from you brings him all day, rather than suppressing it. Lets himself look forward to seeing you, something he felt was only going to go badly for him and thus suppressed before.

Lets himself indulge in long drawn-out fantasies that he knows are so unrealistic and shameful, gradually progressing over time from embarrassingly vulnerable thoughts of your praise and kindness and affection, allowing the depravity and perversion he's repressed to slowly seep out further and further until the fantasies progress into those that have him locking his door and panting and gripping the table with his other hand until he's shivering and slouched over in the shameful clarity that follows.

He also tries to fight these thoughts and feelings initially not only because they're shameful and vulnerable, but because these feelings are accompanied by a much darker feelings, too.

One that is strictly unpleasant, rather than the other, more confusing uncomfortable-but-good feelings. This burning, twisting feeling in his gut and chest, whenever he sees you with others, particularly when you smile or laugh. The way the bitter heat blazes whenever he thinks about the fact that you had to be with some other man to have your child. The way his muscles tense and his eye twitches and he grips his utensils harder as he works. He's certain those feelings aren't good — rather, they're very bad, dangerous even.

The other is the longing, yearning pain when you're gone. He has to struggle to summon the motivation to work — what's the point, when he won't see you all day? The work itself isn't motivating enough anymore like it used to be — something that concerns him, yet remains true all the same. He works slower, he mopes, he doesn't do much of anything until you return, at which point his mood suddenly does a complete reversal, and he feels happy and good and motivated again. He knows that's not good, he knows that degree of dependency is alarming, but it's beyond his ability to resolve. It's a frustrating feeling, identifying a problem but having no way to resolve it.

The feeling of frustration only grows when the yearning itself begins to metamorphosize. It shifts over time, a sad longing that begins to turn to frustration, then bitterness, and finally reaches a low, dark resentment. One he knows is irrational, but the thoughts come anyway — why would you leave him alone here? What's more important than he is? Doesn't he deserve to have you stay with him? Don't you realize he's sad when you're gone?

Didn't you once say you'd be there if he ever needed anything? That you'd help him in any way you could? How do you intend to do that when you're gone so often, huh?

These thoughts can only grow worse with time, and yet, by this point, it's not a matter of letting himself do anything — the thoughts just happen, flowing out without any reign, and even if he tries to summon some restraint, they just slip through. Spiteful, bitter, vengeful, selfish, childish thoughts, darker —

(If you're just going to use him to take care of your kid, shouldn't you treat him like a partner, too? Isn't that selfish of you to not give that to him? Doesn't he do a lot for you? Doesn't he deserve a reward?)

— and darker and darker —

(Maybe you do know how he feels. You're just pretending not to. You know. You're just using him. You're taking advantage of him.)

— and he lets his mind sink to its lowest point.

You're just like her.

Yes, the bitterness gets strong. A sense of entitlement, frustration, a sense of transgression. You just dump your kid off on him to help care for, and then leave? And then you have the audacity to give him money, gifts, so on and so on when your return from your long trips.

As if that's what he wants, as if he cares about things like that. It feels insulting, almost, he'd rather have nothing if you're not going to give him what he actually wants. It feels like some pathetic attempt at substituting, even if rationally, he knows you don't mean it that way.

But bitterness easily overrides rationality, and so maybe he can let himself feel that way. Let himself feel a bit mad about it. Let himself grind his teeth and clench his hand into a fist when you start talking about your next journey you're planning, even if he responds with perfect calmness in his voice, a skill that strikes him as increasingly remarkable when he's so so so damn mad on the inside.

And maybe, if the frustration becomes more than he can bear, if it overrides his sense and inhibition entirely, he can finally let himself act on it too…

What kind of murderer do you fancy Alastor as back on earth? (Forgive me this is a bit long, I started to ramble dkdkgk)

I tend to see it get handwaved once we're in hell, since anyone Alastor tenderizes just comes back later anyways, but there's a couple of different Flavors I'll see people give Alastor specifically for his serial killing back on earth.

The one I see most often is people giving him a moral code he uses to conduct Wholesome™ murders back on earth. Abusers, racists, door-to-door salesmen. If the law wasn't doing its job (or more accurately, working as intended), then Alastor provided REAL justice. This flavor tends to frame it less as Alastor killing cuz he wants to and more like a hero using the power of incredible violence out of necessity. Though sometimes I'll see him killing as a hobby, he just keeps to this strict moral code about it

Just as common, though slightly less I think, he's definitely killing for funsies, but has a moral code telling him who's off limits. He avoids women and children, and hilariously good people are often safe, but everyone else is fair game. If you're a regular dude who's like, fine I guess, you are DEFINITELY still on the menu

Least common flavor is the "if you're in reach of a sticky hand and I can get away with it, you're on the hit list." This I've observed tends to be saved for fics where Alastor's the antagonist or we're going full villain-mode and reveling in the moral bankruptcy XD

There's definitely all sorts of in-between flavors, but these are the ones I see pop up most often lol. SO! I was curious if you had any headcanons or preferences over what kind of serial killing Alastor did topside :3

I can definitely understand the appeal of the vigilante justice route, but I absolutely have an affinity for an Alastor who killed for shits and giggles and wasn't TOO concerned with who's on the other side of that knife. Love me a bitch who's done some unethical shit for absolutely no reason (⁠人⁠ ⁠•‌⁠ᴗ⁠•‌⁠) adds SPICE, y'know XD

I like to go for a fourth option! >:D I like to think that Alastor does have a moral code for killing, but that it basically amounts to "people I don't like."

There are so many stories out there of serial killers targeting women who look like their mom because they have mommy issues; I think Alastor should get to have the opposite. He kills wealthy, powerful, probably-white men because he has daddy issues and as a result that is the exact kind of man that, just, pisses him off to a murderous extent. He would never hurt a lady! Not because women can do no wrong in his eyes, but because he has a particular image of himself and that would be ungentlemanly. Any Vox-alike, however...

At the same time, I don't think he in any way acted with the intent of being a vigilante for any true justice. Like, maybe he does go out of his way sometimes to find a particularly heinous individual, but that's not really for the greater good. It's an excuse to satisfy his desire to put a wealthy man in his place - on the wrong side of the grass. And if it's a week when he sees that someone was being a little sleazy around Mimzy, or an obnoxious guest on his radio show spoke to him with that particular tone... you don't have to be a rapist to be worthy of Alastor blowing off some steam.

Anyway, tl;dr, I like to think murder was his tension release and so he generally went for people he found annoying (aka. people like his father) under a thin veil of "the world is better off without them anyway." He probably had a lot of revenge fantasies about his dad and the next closest thing was grabbing a shotgun and chasing some sleazy suit-and-tie through the woods barefoot.

So.... I went a little overboard, and just decided to draw how I envision the aged up kids for the hypothetical arc 4 in my head. No Peacemaker though, cause 1: I ran out of room, and 2: I have literally no ideas on what to do with him.

I also decided to include some headcanons about them under the cut (also some close-ups of the art above)

Dusky

. 6 years old, making him the oldest of the group (would also be the tallest if he didn't slouch all the damn time)

. He's doing a lot better now :) (dw, I'll traumatize him again later)

. He's still a pretty anxiety riddled guy the majority of the time, but not nearly as bad as he was in book 15

. Overall he's a really gentle soul and is very easy to get along with. He'd have an army's worth of friends if he wasn't terrified of talking to new people

Mink

. 5 years old, just a few months older than Cliff (to fix how her age didn't make any sense)

. Wears a TON of bracelets, which is because she enjoys making them

. Is the one friend that cares for her friends so much that she'll yell at them if they talk bad about themselves

. Is also the type of person to make sure everybody's taking care of themselves. I wouldn't call her the "mom friend," she's moreso the friend that very aggressively cares because she just has a lot of love inside of her

. (also maybe it stems from the trauma of watching her sickly mother get worse and worse until she died much too soon...)

Cliff

. 5, also is the tallest of the group

. The essence of his being is a cross between a himbo, a theater kid, and a bard

. HUGE mama's boy. He's the type of guy who will call his mom for an hour at least every other day (Auklet's jealous of their relationship)

. Has taken lessons for a few different types of instruments, but prefers bowed string instruments the most

. Is incredibly embarrassed by that one published anthem he made as a little kid and rewrote it at some point. Auklet, Mink, and later Bumblebee know this and will sing it at random to mess with him. Dusky's more merciful but he still finds it funny

Auklet

. 4 years old, shortest of the group (Cliff would probably use her head as an armrest if they weren't quadrupeds)

. Looks and is perpetually tired because her sleep schedule is shit

. She's a history nerd, and is especially interested in the history of animus magic

. She's also a enjoyer of conspiracy theories (again mostly with stuff about animus magic and the mystery of where it's gone)

. The interest in animus magic mostly stems from how it disappeared before she would've been tested for it, and the idea of how she could've had it but now she'll never know drives her kinda crazy

. Mommy Issues™ (which is to be expected when your mom is Coral. (I just want more characters in universe that hate Coral okay?))

. Has no real desire to be queen, and really hopes that someone else will take over the throne

. Doesn't wear as much jewelry as you'd expect from somebody in line for the throne, only having a few piercings on her fins

Bumblebee

. 4 with Auklet being about 9 months older than her, making her the youngest

. Her personality has become essentially what you'd get if you took Sundew's brashness and combined it with Cricket's eager nature

. She strikes me as being a bit of a jock as well. I don't know what kind of sports these dragons have, but I think she'd be good at them

. Her and Dusky have a sibling-esque relationship, it's a classic extrovert and introvert dynamic with them

It really is fascinating to me the way that Amy is so convinced that the fact that she doesn't enjoy every second of healing is proof she's evil.

Like, obviously it's her own many many issues flaring up and making her look for reasons to hate herself, (issues she gets in large part thanks to mommy dearest) but I wonder if a small part of it comes from the fact that Vicky and Crystal and Eric so manifestly love having powers (well, I know Vicky does, I assume Eric and Crystal do) and Amy very much hates her powers.

And obviously Vicky (and Crystal and Eric) are Good™ in Amy's understanding of the world, and so what they do is Good™ because they do it.

Especially Vicky.

So if what Vicky does (enjoying her powers) is Good™ and Amy isn't doing it, then obviously that's just one more reason why Amy is Evil™ and Monster™.

I wonder what Amy's life would have been like if the third Dallon Sibling (the brother, who married Fleur, I believe? Or at least was engaged to her?) had adopted Amy. I mean, if we're supposed to believe Carol had Vicky at 18 (which I really fucking don't) and the brother was younger than Carol and Sarah, he probably wasn't old enough to adopt Amy, but there's an AU possibility in there.

Their reactions to fame are a little bit different but they are the same when it comes to falling in love; both are so gentle and genuinely caring, and can't stop gushing about their partner

Also amazing idols for how men are supposed to treat women - a.k.a with respect

Both have a heathy amount of respect for their partners modesty (even when said partner is trying to seduce them on purpose), as well as their partners autonomy to make their own decisions

Not to mention they both have estranged families that they didn't know about, and a supportive animal companion

Portia - Rapunzel

I know some of you might be thinking "why not Merida? They look so alike with their frizzy mop of ginger hair!" Well, dear chat, let me explain

While they may look similar, Portia and Merida do not act similar. Merida is rebellious, headstrong, and airheaded, fighting her loved ones on everything and doing what she wants regardless of the consequences until said consequences come back to bite her in the butt. Portia on the other hand, while also headstrong, is spunky, kind, and takes others feelings and opinions into account instead of doing the first daring thing that comes into her head

Which brings me to Rapunzel. Admittedly, Rapunzel is a lot more sheltered and inexperienced about the world than Portia was but they are still kindred spirits. Curious, spunky, headstrong, kind, compassionate, and unafraid to fight for themselves.

They're ready to take on the world even if they don't know enough about it

Both also have evil and manipulative family members (ik Mother Gothel isn't Rapunzel's family; she was still the one who raised Rapunzel & Rapunzel considered her family long enough for it to count in this situation)

Both also meet love interests who guide them through the part of the world that's unknown to them, be it magic for Portia or the world as a whole for Rapunzel

Lucio - Merida

Merida and Lucio may be hella good warriors, but boy are they stupid sometimes

the sequence where reader has flashbacks of lear and lear probably being the first and only person to know her intimately (IN AN EMOTIONAL SENSE NOT THAT WAY) absolutely hit me harder because i eventually thought "WHY didnt i pay attention to lear in the first place?!" i initially didnt care for him because my mind was all BLADEE BLADEEEE, but now... fuck, lear, i shouldve been with you since day 1.

another interesting thing id like to think about is how reader's regrets, are definitely feelings that nona and lear are experiencing as well. all three are most likely, simutaneously although perhaps now lightyears away instead of mere walls parting them, thinking about their regrets over a loss thats almost like death. where will lear ever put his love now that n darling isnt around anymore? he can only look back to his memories and pray that it's enough to soothe him. would nona regret ever being mean to n darling, skipping her studies, and perhaps later on she would viewed herself as a burden to n darling in the past?

so much to think about, and so little emotional capacity i have to hold the overflowing emotions...

omg i think it's cool that you found nexus' style similar to a movie... the scenes i imagined in my head felt cinematic-ish, especially n darling recalls previous dialogue at certain moments for emotional amplification™. i didn't think about it reflecting in the writing much, but i see what you mean now 😌 there's a lot of emphasis on visuals for prose and metaphors.

A LEAR TRUTHER !!! i wanted him to serve as a foil to blade, so i think once blade started pulling more shenanigans, lear's care for n darling stands out more. lear could've fallen in that possessive pitfall but he's simply built different.

aaa regrets and "i should've x" feel like some of the most effective forms of horror, since it's a universal experience. maybe not the exact scenarios themselves, but everyone's had that moment when they realized how they should've done things differently. when the news comes to light, lear will undoubtedly be emotionally devastated. nona will be as well, though her pain would manifest in anger more than depression. she'd be mad at n darling first, then mad at herself for not being able to do anything to help.

i can't leave them in suffering limbo though 😭 the astral express crew will be who take care of the stellaron crisis on eris. inevitably, they'll meet with lear and nona. the grief won't go away entirely, but the express crew will do/say things that help.

Gonna do the same as I did for John and Jack, them separate and then together

Got surprisingly long again, so read more time!

The Captain - "Police, BITCH!" - Isn't actually the captain (that would be John, technically), still calls himself that - While on-shift his demeanor is close to that of The Captain from Every StoryTime Animation and Mokey's Show, more reserved and Shotgun's straight man. Off-shift he's a lot more goofy - Acts like he has the braincell, really doesn't - Has absolutely used "Police, BITCH!" on a suspect before - A massive flirt oh my god, and most of it is cheesy gestures and sappy pick up lines - Him pulling down his shades was him trying to flirt with Jack, John, and Patty - He's tried to flirt with Patty before and she does not care for it lol - Tried to flirt with Evermore on his first day on the job and nearly got fired - Most likely bi - Mans the tip line. It's pretty uneventful (as far as this town goes, anyway), but he's noticed that every now and then this gruff-voiced guy will anonymously call in to report child abuse cases - Oddly though, any tips related to the cult seem to go missing when he's on shift, if they're recorded at all… - Still has that grey brick of a flip phone. No he will not get a new one - Orders his contacts by name and then an emoji of something he associates with them, e.g. John 🚬, Jack 🍩, etc. -- this makes them easier to search for, in his opinion. The exception to this is Shotgun, whose contact is instead BFF ❤❤🙂 - Has ~mommy issues~ - Is the one who drives bc Shotgun would absolutely try to run over potential suspects - Shotgun is the bad bitch he pulled by being autistic /j - He is actually autistic tho! Undiagnosed, probably isn't aware he has it - His sunglasses are not only cool but hide how he's avoiding eye contact most of the time B) - Readjusts his tie constantly - If he doesn't want to deal with something he'll most likely just shoot it - His favorite donuts are plain with pink frosting and sprinkles the cliche donut lol - The guy ever, a little weird but definitely one of the more normal people in town

Shotgun Man - "SHOTGUN POW!!" - Usually just called Shotgun, Shotty, or SG/SGM - Still has the shotgun, no one knows why - I don't think he has the safety on- - Has threatened many a perp by shoving the barrel of his gun in their face - Absolute menace honestly, it's a wonder he hasn't been fired yet - Sometimes leans on his shotgun (the barrel is pointed at the floor, he's not that stupid) - Almost never refers to people by their first name, instead using titles or last names (e.g. Sheriff, Nurse, Velseb, etc.). For some reason Jerald is an exception, and Shotty will always refer to him by name - Mellows out slightly when around Captain. Slightly. - Gets control of the radio and all he plays is either heavy metal or stations no one's heard of - Probably eats at Boys n Grills - Does finger guns by putting his hands together to make a single big gun - Would get along great with Dexter - GNC AF, would wear a dress for fun - Runs on cartoon physics similar to Skid and Pump, but only when it would be funny - He has ADHD :> Unlike the others he's actually diagnosed, tho he doesn't take medication for it because of course he doesn't - "POW" is a vocal stim - When he’s feeling mischievous™ he’ll rub his hands together - Doesn't know what he is but it sure as hell ain't straight - On Valentines Day he went into the station early so he could jump Captain, Jack, and John and give them surprise smooches - However bc this is Shotty it ended up playing out like a horror movie lol - Generally just someone big on physical affection and PDA, and he loves to fluster people: slinging his arm around someone's shoulder, random hugs, kisses, that kinda thing - His favorite donuts are cake donuts and he will fight people for them - Just a silly goofy guy, I love him

Both - The cops before John and Jack were real - Braincell pecking order is Shotgun Man -> Jack -> Captain -> John - They were officers at another precinct before getting transferred, and Captain actually was the captain there - Both are still friends and in contact with Jerald (the swat guy) - Even tho Jack and John kept their jobs Evermore still hired Captain and Shotgun, if only to get the press off his back about underfunding the police - "See, they're not underfunded, I just hired two new officers!" (they are still heavily underfunded) - Really they just kinda goof around, Jack and John handle the more serious cases - When they are on a case, they're... semi-competent - They're also both shoot first, ask questions later - This isn't a hc but more so an idea, but if they show up again I want them to interact with the Hobomen, there is ample opportunity to recreate the "NOOOO, IT'S PISS!!" joke with Tankman and Shotgun and that would be so funny - Both of them realized real quick that John and Jack have feelings for each other and they are such teases about it - Captain is more subtle. Shotty, in comparison, once shouted "OH, JUST KISS ALREADY!" at the two - As for their relationship to each other… - No one can figure out what these two are to each other and they think that's hilarious - For real tho, they just like being around each other. They are a package deal, no matter what way you spin them, and they ain't gonna be separated - I like the idea that in general they're a lot more upfront and casual in their relationship, offers a nice contrast to John and Jack - This also means Captain gets the brunt of Shotty's affections! You'd think Captain would be used to it but Shotty always seems to find a new way to fluster him - Are horrible enablers to Jack's pranks, and regularly help him pull them - John is so exasperated by their antics, please save him - Dunno who came up with this initially but I got it from @mallory-vallory so: I like the idea that their actual names are Scott (Captain) and Sammy (Shotgun), feels fitting. Almost no one calls them by their actual names tho - Also there's this art by Ratzzle/Charlieratqueen on twitter of the two wearing patterned scarves during Contagious Christmas and it looks so cute so that is part of my headcanon for their winter clothes now pls and thank u - If they actually had to work with John and Jack on a case it'd be fucking chaos, good lordy - Overall they're dumbasses and bad at their jobs, but at least they get it done

I'm honestly surprised at how much I had for these guys! They're definitely not rotating as fiercely as the other cop duo, but I've still thought a lot about them, both their original and Spooky Month incarnations

I think they have great potential as a comedic foil duo to John and Jack, hope we see them again in later episodes

A couple quick headcanons about my ‘new’ Overwatch ladies.

Zarya: 

Lesbian. has always known she was gay. she fell back in love with pink as an adult, but still very masculine about it. She doesn’t really know what ‘butch’ means as an identity, but if she did, she would ID as such.

6′5″, probably close to 280-290lbs. Very muscular in the arms but thick in the torso and thighs. She has a heavy weightlifter body.

Fluent in Russian, and decent in English but sometimes struggles with more complex aspects of it. Knows a few words in Spanish.

Big Dog lover.

Prefers to be called by her full first name of Aleksandra, not Aleks, but if you are close with her (as in, very close friends or a lover), you can call her Sasha. She is also, obviously okay with her callsign. 

The 512 tattoo commemorates her lifting record in kilograms (1128.7lbs), and she also has a blacked out forearm piece as well. She may someday do the other arm, should her record change. 

She has 2 sisters - Ira and Marisha. I know the comic seems to imply the ‘children’ may be other siblings, but I believe the older woman is their mother and the kids are her nieces/nephews! 

Pharah: 

Also, a lesbian. She did kind of date boys in high school but never got serious at all, and it was college age that she realized she was solely attracted to other women. 

Grew up splitting her time between Egypt with her mother, and British Columbia, Canada with her father. Because of this, she is fluent in English, and her Arabic is decent. She also knows basic Quebecois French as required in the Canadian school system until 9th grade. Her father has also taught her some of her tribe’s language* (but as it has not been specified what his background is exactly, I don’t know which one it is). 

Fareeha was raised in a secular household with Ana, who did not actively practice Islam herself, and nor does she have interest in religion as an adult, unlike her mother’s reconnection to faith. 

She grew up playing all kinds of sports, but specifically favours hockey and basketball (thanks to her Canadian upbringing), and continues to play the latter whenever she gets a chance. 

5′11″ or so.

Rock music enjoyer, but probably could not actually play a guitar if she was given all the lessons in the world.

Wren (he/they)

The one with the least daddy/mommy issues, given he had two dads and Randy. Glaze and Temp win the grand prize for those issues

He’s very polite and formal; he reminds the older ones a lot of Dream, it’s weird. He’s the responsible one of the group, and the others call him a killjoy because he won’t let them do shit that’ll get them hurt.

They’re very talented with a glaive, like Finch, but their forte is daggers. This includes throwing daggers. And dear god can they throw them. Few of the beasts are safe from them. The Maelstrom is another story but it’s fiiiine

Wren has trouble interacting with new people, because he tends to come off as a prissy, up-tight snob. He’s just minding his manners. He also tends to avoid taking risks, because as the self-appointed Responsible One™ he has to set a good example. He keeps missing out on fun things.

Finch and Hacker (but only a ref for Finch)

They really had no idea what they were doing, but they did their best. They had Randy to give them advice, too.

Finch kinda sprung the clone thing on Hacker suddenly, but in Finch’s defense there was very little time between The Idea and Getting Cloned. Finch was the only one who actually thought ahead to the ‘I’m going to have to take care of this kid in about nine months, I better start preparing.’ part. To his credit he didn’t make Hacker help him, he just kinda went ‘hey uhh. I’m getting cloned. They’re going to be a baby in like nine months and i’m going to have to take care of them and shit. I would like your help but you do not have to. You’ve got a hot while to decide so don’t freak just yet’

Hacker was very confused but after a while he decided he’d help. Which was probably for the best, given how JR fucking crumbled when the little shits were done baking, and Finch was basically left homeless.

Just don’t tell Bobby she’s technically an aunt now. She’s going to have crisis what do you MEAN she’s an aunt she’s FIFTEEN

She’s going to disown hacker as her adoptive brother (I say, as if she doesn’t refuse to call him such already).

Wren still calls Finch and Hacker his dads.

ooh i was saving the propaganda for later in the actual polls but here's some for the ones that are losing BADLY (from the screenshots my friend sent me.

Terry/Korvo

Omg where to even begin. SPOILERS for all 4 currently released seasons ahead! So, in season 1 there's like, mostly just hints, right? And sure, there's a certain Tension™ but it's mostly played for laughs. And yes, they hate each other a bit but y'know. Personally I think Terry had feelings for Korvo even before season 1 but you can argue about that. Then, in season 2, they share some genuine feelings, they kiss and Korvo horrifically tortures Terry though time travel. In that order. They're quirky <3 Then in the Christmas special there's more emotions and kissing and also, btw, at some point we got word of god confirmation they *were* in fact in a romantic relationship by the end of season 2. Again, personal opinion, but I'm not sure Korvo was like, thoroughly in love by that point but we're certain he is by now. And then in season 3, more and more genuine emotions are shared and while technically they were posing as married the entire time, we now see Terry call Korvo his husband and mean it (after Korvo got jealous of Terry's "[standing in] line husband") but the real fun begins in season 4! That's when they really start acting like a couple and we get to see that both of them genuinely care for each other and also are attracted to each other. Oh, and they fuck on screen. They're invisible during it but they totally fuck on screen. More jealous Korvo in the finale, too, but unfounded as we learned Terry has stopped hooking up with strangers for Korvo's sake. Also, during this season we see them spooning in their sleep and it's. So gosh darn cute. And like... season 5 is already ordered. We're getting new Tervo content, probably sometime next year. And it's gonna be amazing!!!

Penelope Featherington/Colin Bridgerton:

Penelope has a long-standing crush on Colin, who views her as just-a-friend for a long time. In the show, Colin loudly tells a group of male peers who mock him for “courting her” that he would never court her in their wildest dreams, and Penelope overhears. Heartbroken, she will try to find a different suitor in the next season. But Colin will eventually fall hard for her, finding out her secret ID as Lady Whistledown, trying to protect her despite the fact that she doesn’t need it, and realizing that he has crazy levels of pent-up lust for her. They are a classic fell first/fell harder ship that is absolutely essential representation for fat women like myself. I’m counting down the days to season 3 and Penelope/Colin was the first book I read of the series because I’m so excited!

Kokoro Aichi AKA Heartful Punch/Undine Wells AKA Alchemical Water

So my Girl Kokoro has a lot of pride, she hates being seen as weak bc of her daddy and mommy issues and because of that hates it when people call her by her real name and tends to prefer to just go by HP in honor of her magical girl title, but within like TWO days of knowing Undine and hearing her call her HP she was just like '...you can call me Kokoro' and then Undine does just that all of HP's friends go absolutely bananas quoting it as 'the forbidden name' and then react even more dramatically when Kokoro just sort of rolls with it. Girl's had it bad since this waterbender pretty girl first tidal waved into her life Meanwhile Undine, whom as a magical girl struggles to kill monsters on her own since her powers are more 'support class' as it is, she's not super strong on her own, kills a HUGE monster in basically one shot when Kokoro is threatened to nearly get swallowed by it, turning her water into essentially a jet cutter. she often has dreams about Kokoro, though only realized she had feelings for her during that noted save, she's ALWAYS worried that just by being around her she's putting a target on her back (bc she's the main character so the bad guys are gunning for her) she seems really chill most of the time bc she's just a really reserved girl but like this girl can and will commit murder to keep her pink gf safe and like- they're canonically super gay end of chapter 15 they kiss for the first time it's great
