GOOD MORNING @that-seems-stupid-lets-do-it !! HERE COMES MORE LUMI RAMBLES AND HOPEFULLY MY BRAIN WON'T RANDOMLY DIE THIS TIME!!

So I wanna talk more about them in Nightcord cuz I feel like I focus too much on their sibling dynamic with the Hinomoris whenever I ramble about them, oopsie. Also (I'm writing this sentence after I finished writing everything else) tw, I got into a lot of dark topics cuz Lumi has a dark backstory and such.

So, Lumi isn't very confident in their singing voice and feels their only good contributions to N25 is managing the social media pages. The others don't agree, which is why eventually they started easing them into letting them sing sometimes!! Kanade told them that they don't have to always sing, that they can do it when they're comfortable, but also that she thinks Lumi's voice is sweet and pretty. This makes Lumi very happy and they try their best to sing more often.

When Lumi initially joined, the group jokingly called them the group's "girlfriend" or "boyfriend," which both flustered Lumi and made them feel honored. They were always making sure everyone was feeling okay, letting them vent to them, making sure they were eating, drinking water, and resting (despite being horrible with doing all of this self-care for themself).

However, for one person, the girlfriend/boyfriend joke was not much of a joke after several months... No one knows how, but Lumi and Mizuki became a thing at some point. All they know is that Lumi told them the day after it happened and of course everyone was shocked, except Mafuyu saw it coming from a mile away with his sixth sense or something idk. It was probably very obvious that they had feelings for eachother whenever they'd do their irl meetups, because Lumi was always the chattiest with Mizuki, and they'd always hold hands with each other or snuggle in the booth in the diner, insisting on sitting together all the time.

Also, I've had this scenario in my head on how a Nightcord sleepover would go with Lumi being a part of the group, and the entire time they're just cuddling eachother. That's it. That's the sleepover. (Lumi was originally intended to be a polycord insert rather than just MizuLumi, but I got a random Mizuki hyperfixation one day and from there MizuLumi was born. Now, they're pretty much in a qpr with the rest of N25.)

ONG I NEVER SHARED THE COOLEST THING ABOUT THEM IN NIGHTCORD.

So, everyone has their usernames that they go by to keep themselves anonymous or whatever... Lumi's is Lumi*neon. Yes, it's a pokemon reference. Is it their favorite pokemon? No. But is it in their top 10? Absolutely. C'mon, Lumineon almost shares a name with them!! Am I the only weirdo who thinks it's really cool when something in a piece of media shares a name with me?? Yes, even my deadname (which has not happened, considering I have a rare spelling, but I've had several close calls).

Ofc every Nightcord member has their reasons for wanting to disappear, and Lumi is no exception (is it really an OC if you don't traumatize and torture them?). I mentioned in the last ramble that they have trauma. It was from their birth family. They did not have a very happy life with their old family that they were born with in America. I'm not going into details, but just picture what you'd imagine a not so happy family looking like. They eventually got put into an orphanage and I have no idea how, but the Hinomoris got them and helped them recover a bit, but Lumi still wants to disappear. They feel they can't be loved, and they're slowly learning to accept that they are loved; by their family, by their friends, by their girlfriend. People love them.

Initially, they weren't sure what they were going to do when they were older, kind of similar to Mafuyu in a sense except because they were discouraged from their old dreams, they wanna divulge completely away from them and into something more "successful" (as music and art were once their passions). Eventually, probably if I were to make a version of them that ages up when the rest of the cast does during the third anniversary, they'd figure out that they want to be a teacher. Of course, that means they can't be a part of N25 anymore. Working late at night and barely sleeping before you have to wake up early to go to school? They couldn't ever manage that. They're planning on being in Nightcord until they graduate college, however, no one in the group knows that, not even Mizuki. Lumi is too scared to tell the others their dream because they don't want to be separated from the others.

I think that's basically all of their Nightcord stuff, but I do have more about them and what they were like when they first came to Japan, just cuz I find it really interesting how different they were from their current self!!

So, they were traumatized. They came to a brand new country with a language they'd never spoken before and new people to call their family. They felt like such an outcast. They were quiet, like very quiet. They didn't speak unless it was necessary. They were always scared to do things without asking first, even things such as getting a s acl or using the restroom. They flinched when people went near them and would often just isolate themselves in their room and do nothing except get wrapped in their own head.

Of course the rest of the Hinomori family worried about them, especially Shizuku and Shiho. Shizuku was definitely more visible with her worry, as she was always trying to help Lumi through it, though it was a bit overwhelming for Lumi, and Shiho knew that. That was why Shiho kept her worry to herself. She knew that Lumi didn't need someone immediately jumping on them in order to help fix them, that it was going to take time.

With Shizuku's constant worry and care, Lumi did slightly warm up to her first, as they couldn't tell that Shiho was silently worried for them too. In fact, Lumi was somehow convinced that Shiho hated them, and Shizuku would reassure them several times that she didn't. She knew Shiho was just as worried as she was.

Shizuku uses her sister magic and after over a year Lumi is now the clingiest sibling you could ever imagine, as in they were affectionate. Shiho pretends to hate it, but secretly she's happy for Lumi being able to touch people now (even at the cost of her own sanity KSKAA). Lumi's favorite people for sure are their big sisters.

They have issues with overthinking and nightmares at night, so they can't even sleep by themself. They've gotta be with Shizuku or Shiho.

Also, the language barrier; did Lumi ever learn how to speak Japanese? Nope. They've picked up a few words and phrases, but for the most part it's actually really hard for them to learn, even with Japanese speakers in the house. So, Lumi speaks English for the most part. Shizuku and Shiho know a good bit of English, thanks to them needing it as celebrities if they wanna go around the world, and will usually speak to Lumi in English. They help translate stuff if Lumi needs it, as Lumi does NOT trust translation apps.

Random facts about them!!

No one knows their gender, they're agender AFAB and bind, but people genuinely cannot tell. If I remember right, awhile back I was explaining concepts for N25 trust ranks with a friend of mine and Lumi and Mizuki's first one was something like "Gender? Girlboss." Because people love calling both Lumi and Mizuki girlbosses, when in canon their genders are both hard for the public to tell, so tis their gender now /silly

They dislike marshmallows. They have a fear of them, specifically raw ones. Dried or cooked are fine, but marshmallows straight out of the bag? That's a NIGHTMARE. If they want to touch a raw marshmallow, they will literally pull out gloves. They think that marshmallows are unnatural and weird, despite knowing they're only made of sugar and gelatin. They're a little paranoid about marshmallows (just like me frfr)

Okay, so the way I talked about MizuLumi kinda made it sound like that's the canon ship for this universe, but tbh it's not. Platonic polycord (with Lumi) is most certainly the canon here, however I've completely divulged from it being the main ship. I'm a multishipper, and naturally I've made up scenarios with other possible characters in my head (by "possible," I mean people who they're most likely to interact with in their canon). If I had to choose a non-N25 ship for Lumi, I'd have to say HaruLumi. It was something I thought of one day while going insane from overworking myself. Lumi would most certainly overwork themselves, I thought to myself. I suddenly thought of Haruka, the queen that he is, and suddenly HaruLumi was born in my head. They take care of eachother when they push themselves too far <3 (I also just really like the dynamic of Lumi being the pathetic non-celebrity and being like "Omg Haruka could've chosen anyone to date and he chose ME??" FJDJWKQ THEY'RE SO PATHETIC JFKSKWA /vpos)

Honorable mention to Saki x Lumi (I didn't think SakiLumi sounded cool so I just said that KDKSKS). Platonic or romantic. They're silly. They probably cuddle with 50000 plushies and then one of them will pick up one and kiss the other on the cheek with it, and then they'll go back and fourth with this for the next hour because they're silly.

Also honorable mention to MinoLumi. I have no dynamic for them in my head, so that's it. That's the ship.

ramble of my scattered thoughts on the piece under cut as usual cuz i love talking 😋

This has been an idea I've been cookin for a while, and it was so cluttered and unlike any other ensemble piece I've made... and I decided I oughta do it anyway. I love Miku, I love Vocaloid, and I wanted to do something really ambitious and crazy for her anniversary. Crazy that she's turning her "canon" age this year TwT

I had the idea floating around since like, May...? And then finally started acting on it around June 18. I'm terrible with deadlines, obvious with how I can never make a silly birthday post in time, so I started wayyyy ahead to make sure I have some room to be lazy lol, especially with an idea as ambitious as this.

This was finished on July 12! So I had to sit on this for an annoying amount of time. Very difficult for someone like me who just wants to talk about everything I'm working on to the masses. But at the very least, that gave me the time to work on the draft for this post.

Here's some ~behind the scenes~ scribbles leading up to the finished piece!

Left is the chicken scratch plan i made in my handy dandy notebook (whenever things are getting real and ambitious, i always made a rough ROUGH plan in there. Usually I'd do a rough pass of the full thing, but this was too complicated for me to do traditionally. I majorly benefited from digital tools to make this possible). CyberDiva and CyberSongman were considered, but I ended up cutting them cuz I just didn't feel like drawing them sorry-- (just pretend they're off to the side. They gave Ruby and Clara the pizza lol). Right is the "final" completed sketch (before I decided to include Chika mid-way through coloring and VY1 and VY2 near the finish line). I started by drawing the main "groups" separated on a different canvas so I can plop them into the main canvas for easy rearranging and transforming. However I got lazy and ended up drawing everyone in the bottom right corner directly on the canvas since I liked seeing the big picture of everyone's positions. Y'know.

Almost excluded Chika! But I like her design so much that I just felt like including her last-minute. You win this time, Chika fans. VY1 and VY2 were very close to being cut! I added them when I began doing the banner and thought "eh why not". I figured their non-human designs would be pretty easy to include pushed back in the bg. Ik VY1 is more commonly associated with the fan design, but I referenced the hairpin cuz it was simpler and the fan looked very annoying to draw 😭

Sorry to the fans of many Vocaloids I had to cut because this composition was insane enough as is. I promise I wanted to include fellas like CUL, LUMi and Sachiko 😭 I will admit I was a little biased on who I wanted to include over others. Like, I don't normally care for Bruno and Clara, but I wanted to get some more international 'loids in the mix. Also wanted to stick in the realm of official designs and not fan-designs since, as much as I can appreciate those, are just a whole "wait who is that guy supposed to be" situation I didn't wanna deal with. I also did wanna include even more character references through the balloons, but they ended up being kind of ugly and overcomplicated the BG :,) (Oh, and while this was originally planned to be a Vocaloid-only piece, I did end up including Teto, Neru, and Haku 'cuz those are Miku's besties dude!!! They may not be Officially in the club but they're her girls and it would be criminal to not invite them to her birthday).

Anyway, this project marks the first time I've drawn a lot of Vocaloids. Lily, Piko, Rana, Yuki, Yukari, Miki, Maika, and many more lol. All of 'em I've heard or seen in passing, but now I actually drew them, and some have really cool and fun designs!! I got into a habit of drawing Merli after this since I just love her design for example. And I'll probably be drawing more lol!!

Oh and the last thing I'll add for now!! The cake is indeed made up of various song references!! I wanted to reference the "big four" producers, just absolute icons in Vocaloid history. The pink/black checkerboard is "World is Mine" (Ryo), the crescents on the side is "Rolling Girl" (Wowaka), the smiley faces is "Matryoshka" (Hachi), and the three hearts on the side is "The Vampire" (DECO*27, which is sort of a symbol of his whole Mannequin album tbh). I know "The Vampire" is a bit modern but I couldn't think of anything else off the top of my head. I'm a fake DECO fan I know 😔 "Matryoshka" was originally going to be referenced in the colors of the candles but believe me it looked like shit so I just went for something else last minute 😭

ITS DONE!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉...well, the DRAWING part is as of yesterday BAHAHA. now im just adding all the dialogue/speech bubbles/sfx, SO ITS DEFINITELY GONNA BE SOON!! DEFS BY THIS WEEKEND!! ive just been very nitpicky on the font which i cant decide on LMAO and im also nitpicky abt other final touches LOL. i didnt wanna show anymore cuz ive already shown so much but HERES THE FINAL SNEAK PEEK

and speaking of fonts, i normally use handwriting by jeremy paz!

oh man its so random, but i either use the name lumi or clora for everything whenever i play rpgs (baldurs gate 3, dragon age, you name it) and clora originated from rune factory 4 LOL. theres a character named 'clorica' and i really liked that name, it sounds so elegant and fantasy ish, so i eventually just shortened it to clora bahaha. now its my go-to. i like how simple it is but it also sounds unique and works in modern AND fantasy settings, imo

my first and ONLY playthrough was as clora! i originally did try to make myself at the start, but i have short brown hair and straight across bangs, and they didnt have a style that felt 'me', so i went with just making a ravenclaw that i liked, and then gave her my go-to name of clora HAHA. and yea, i built up her and sebs relationship in my head as i was playing, especially with all the running around the castle i did. i just liked to imagine her constantly out of breath and flushed and seb just watching like ....🧍girl chill...

AND SPEAKING OF MY DARK RELIC COMIC/SMUT, my biggest advice for writing smut id say is to have a reasoning behind it, i guess? i focus a lot on their headspace/WHY they're fucking at that moment when i write it LOL instead of just the movements/sex for the sake of sex. in your case, the sexual tension leading up to the first time gives you SO much to work with, since you can just be in his head with how much hes looking forward to it, how much hes savouring it, how he's also nervous but enjoying it and trusting the other person, etc. the thoughts are hotter than the actual deed a lot of the times (which is why when clora and seb did it for the first time it ended up being like, 15k words of just foreplay and build up from sebs perspective LMAOO) so yeah id just try to focus on their emotions and desires if you can! and a lot of the times with consent stuff it CAN feel forced, and you dont even really need your characters to talk about that stuff verbally, at least not too much. you can do it in body language, or just something as simple as 'ill stop if you want'. it doesnt have to be a long therapist-like conversation about consent, which CAN tend to sound a little awkward and unrealistic (esp in the heat of the moment), if thats the problem you're having. HOPE I COULD HELP

Current digital art process!

Acting on @shkika 's request because making my redraw for this post actually ended up giving me more confidence in my digital art process! As such, I'm gonna use it as a reference. And if this walkthrough of sorts turns out nice, I might do it again as my process evolves!

I started off with a quick sketch of sorts, trying to focus both on movement and volume, and get the general idea of where each element is located. I edit the image dimensions and placement of things a lot in this phase, as my ideas often tend to change once I actually begin drawing them. In this case, as I got it down, I decided I wanted it to look like some cheesy animal motivational poster, so that influenced where the text was.

From there, I began to clean and sometimes edit the sketch, mainly by thickening the lines to make the shapes more definite, and erasing what wasn't necessary and interfered with other parts. Volume is one of my biggest focuses in my drawings, so I try my best to get the volume of each character at least hinted at with the lines. This is something that will probably remain in my process for a while, as I quite dislike doing separate lineart and like the messy, sketchy feel anyway.

I also wanna mention, in addition to having references and such in other windows, I've recently begun having a second mini window of my current drawing off to the side so I can see what it looks like overall more easily, regardless of how much I zoom in on and flip the main window. It's quite helpful!

For reference, this is what the final sketch looked like:

Then, I went on to add the flat colors. Another tip: I almost always set my sketch layer to "Lumi & Shade" because I think it makes the line colors a lot richer, but since it's based on what colors are underneath, it colors the lines a lot more individually than changing the sketch color as a whole. Here's some comparison to a version without the effect (left):

Then, I add some shading using a (really nice) marker brush. This is honestly one of my favorite parts of the process, just trying to carve out all the volumes, especially since I usually use a pretty blue color for shadows!

Sometimes, I honestly just leave drawings finished at this step, because I adore the sketchy look so much, and because I really don't like the tediousness of more realistic rendering in the painting process; from what I've seen/experienced, it often involves having to basically paint the entire image over again, which I've realized I find REALLY boring (and is also why I clean the sketch instead of making a new lineart layer). As such, one of my hopes is to reach a point where I could almost completely avoid having to clean up the image in a traditional painting method, instead being able to lay down lines and colors so well that they convey nearly all the volume necessary on their own, still have that sketchy appeal, yet also look finished and professional.

Alas, I did do a bit of clean up on this image, but I think it still turned out alright!

Here's the finished drawing! I'll have to practice with this process a bit more to truly solidify it as my digital go-to, but nonetheless, I think this came out adorable! Thanks again shkika for the ask, and thanks to @mintscampi for the sweet prompt! I hope you guys like it!

instead nayeon wore sana’s shirt, a big one that covered her body to the middle of her thighs, enough to make sana’s mouth water, the silky skin exposed for her.

sana could see what nayeon was doing. she could smell it in the air — it was a heat wave. it made nayeon tremble and buck her hips against sana’s pillow, the soft surface nestled between her soaked thighs not enough to make it go away.

it takes nayeon too long to realize sana had been looking at her. taken by her heat, she can’t bring herself to tell her to go away. she was in sana’s room, wearing her clothes, humping on her pillow, needing her.

“unnie,” sana mutters, and then her hands touches the switch. she thinks about turning the lights on for a brief moment, until nayeon hisses, mumbling a small ‘no’.

You are very welcome! There are some really stunning works for this fandom, I hope they heal something in you (as they did for me) after everything that happened in the show. And oh my god I have been stewing on Knives' love for Vash and how complicated it is, how it's tied up in what they are just as much as who they are, that it's not just one or the other, and he is absolutely consumed by it in a very loud roar, while Vash is also consumed by his love, for humanity and for his brother, that it eats away at him because he loves, even so much that Nai can hurt him this badly and he still loves and loves and loves. And I think both of them are defined by humanity in their own ways, that Knives' hurt and fury over humanity's actions is just as defining to him as Vash's forgiveness and compassion for humanity is for him. And I think that it's telling that neither of them can let go of the other, even when Vash runs, he feels responsible for Nai, he can't let him go in his heart, and I think Nai's telling the truth (in his own extremely twisted way) about wanting to do this for Vash, that I think it still all does go back to Tesla and what humanity did to her--and what Vash lets humanity do to him, that I think Knives sees it as humanity carving away piece after piece of Vash, like they did before, like they'll always do. He's blinded by it, of course, so much of it is his own hurt and rage that he's doing this for, because this isn't what Vash wants, this isn't what will make Vash happy, but I don't think it's untrue that Knives is basically Magneto taken to an extreme here, that we do see the humans hurting the Plants, we do see Tesla's body, we do see the cruel sides of what they can do. And we see that willingness of humanity to hurt the Plants play out on Vash's body and I don't think Knives could possibly be unaffected by that. I would also say that I think some part of Vash must want Nai to see what he sees, that his compassion and love for humanity perseveres despite their flaws, that he's still here despite all the danger he's been put in, that Rem's love for them was just as real as what happened with Tesla and that they can all find the good together. He's not naive, he knows that Knives is serious about killing every human he comes across, that he knows Knives is dangerous, but Vash still loves him, still wants him to remember Rem with Vash, still wants to share his love for humanity with Knives. And like. It's the kind of story where they have to still love each other, because otherwise it wouldn't hurt when they fought each other, it wouldn't hurt when the other was separated from them. If Knives didn't love Vash or if Vash didn't love Knives, then what's the point of setting such emotional scenes on them? What's the point of that ending of Tristamp if it's not completely gutting the audience because the events in JuLai completely devastated Vash? They're inverse images of each other, they're designed to be upside down reflections of each other, their love for each other is at the heart of their very designs.

Kaeya and Paimon take bets the whole time on how quickly each opponent flops. Turns out they're both gamblers at heart, but inevitably Kaeya won the most Mora out of her (much to Paimon's dismay). I adore how Kazuha's like "I did notice u withholding strength so as to not harm ur opponent", which is so spicy and good and tasty and i will eat Strong Bad Bitch Lumine any day of the week and still hunger for more.

I do find it interesting that Lumine very clearly is unused to not using elements—something I've pondered a bit about, since she technically had some kind of "element" before she began to borrow the elements of Teyvat. I, for one, am obsessed with this theory and have done some fun deep dives into the animation frames of her and Aether using elemental abilities (i mentioned this before). I wanted to mention this thought because I have a personal h/c and kind-of theory about elements and their dangers, especially to people who are not protected by Visions. Because I do believe certain elements are dangerous.

Also I should doubly clarify that when we get to Inazuma the actual bit, things are gonna be a little different I suppose? I won't be following my original way of doing this, b/c I ,,, really couldn't connect (and personally didn't like) the Inazuma Archon quest, so I'm going to be tweaking it and modifying it to my own needs.

ALSO, noting the elemental thing; I find it interesting how Kazuha describes Lumine's ability to utilize multiple elements as "the echoes of nature". she can listen to you talk all day, no joke. she also has a habit of rambling, so you two could somehow hold a conversation with each other about two vastly different topics. there is rarely a time when she'll ask you to be quiet, though she does enjoy the quiet moments she spends with you as well.

Okay, so...this is my first attempt to try and find roleplay partners here. So, with all further Adu, allow me to get started on my introduction. ((Bonus if you wanna do The Originals!)).

I've been roleplaying since 2012, and I'm a literate - advance roleplayer who mainly does fandoms. I'm over the age of 18, therefore it's a requirement of mine that all my partners (if I manage to get any) are also over the age of 18. Here are my rules:

Rules:

1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.

2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.

3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.

4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.

5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).

6: DO NOT control my character. I control what she says, does, hears, sees, ect. I don't control yours, so don't control mine. HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Failure to comply by this rule, results in immediate drop of the rp.

We have to note that I’ve never read DM from start to finish(up to ch.30 at least)in one go, other than reading it every two weeks as it updates of course, so if I do read it from start to the point where Iryo defects it might feel different, but I don’t know that yet. Basically what I’m trying to say is that I really would’ve loved it if we got to see more of Iryo’s conflict before he joins the team. I remember Iryo thinking in the earlier chapters, while he’s searching for Boros, traitorously in his mind, that he longs to stay among the stars. I really loved that part cuz even this crazily devotional servant longs for freedom on some level. I wish we could’ve seen more of that, before he was attacked by the mindtaker on that asteroid. So when he sees the vision of the General, his already conflicting feelings intensifies. And hearing Lumi’s speech, seeing the crew throw their lives away for Boros would be what pushes him further, making him inadvertently stop Einaros from killing Lumi. After that he feels even more conflicted, confused as to what he’s doing, scared and alone, so when he finds Lumi away from the rest of the pirates he goes up to her, not even knowing what he’ll do himself. And when Lumi says that he doesn’t have to do this, he lashes out, angry, but when she really makes an effort to listen, Iryo can’t help but open up to her. Everything would be the same, him not fighting back when Boros attacks, (seemingly)joining the crew.

Basically what I’m trying to say is I would’ve loved to see more of Iryo’s pov before the asteroid incident. His emotional conflict specifically, before he opens up to Lumi. Because his polar opposite thoughts shown in the recent chapter was so fun to read, and his obvious inability to even consider these options breaking my heart in the best ways.

While I’m on subject, although to be honest this is more of me just daydreaming about the things i want- I think I just want the whole fic to be ten times longer🤣

I want the whole Scorcher arc to be longer, the chase for each of the artifacts to be longer. I want a spinoff series of Boros’ life before he deserted, I want more of Boros bumping into Lumi on the Voyager cuz she’s tiny and he’s in a hurry, I want more of Arkaus teaching Boros how to fly the Voyager. I just can’t get enough of this fic. I want MORE of EVERYTHING which I should’ve anticipated cuz I know I’m a greedy bitch. This may be effected by how I’m re-reading one of the longest fucking fics out there however, longer even than the Lord of the fucking Rings. So. I’m not thinking rationally with my wants.

I just read the sneak peek of the next chapter which looking back on it I shouldn’t have, since now I can’t wait to read the rest of it. Anyways, FUCK. Iryo’s thought process. I have no words. This boy is so fucked up. I’m glad tho, to know why he decided to take Arkaus’ hand, to know this boy is still fucking crazy as shit when it comes to the General. I’ll have to wait until the next chapter(why. Why can’t I just speed up time), but this is taking us to VERY interesting paths indeed..

That being said it’s time to drool over the actual chapter, and there is a LOT to drool over. Firstly AERON. WHAT. MY BOI. GOD DAMN IT Dark Matter may be the only fic where it makes people irrationally emotional over a goddamn robot. Why are you pulling awayyyyyyyy noooooooooooo. I wonder if this is a hint? Ever since it was revealed Aeron had memories he had no access to, I wondered if he was an actual organic being before his mind was moved to a robotic body. And the connection with Dillio, could he have been the same, or similar species? I don’t know but this is another mystery I can’t wait for it to be revealed.

And onto the one that made me GRIT my teeth with joy. Iryo saying Boros’ name. For the first time. XNDJENDUDKKFEHJWOFJJEOVUENFIOE IRYO SAYING BOROS’ NAME AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Like, I don’t know. It’s just a name, he didn’t even say it TO him, but still it made me smile so fucking wide. And Lumi asking Iryo’s name… god that made me so emotional. I know for a fact that this is not a question he gets asked a lot. Someone trying to really know him. AND HE FUCKING TOLD HER WJFBWIVJKEHSBSJHFNWJDOSK

Everything about their interaction breaks me, how Lumi is trying to be brave, how she’s obviously in a lot of danger but decides to stay anyway, for him. Because that’s just what she does. She’s brave. And I love that so much.

ALSO not to mention how it’s PERFECT that it’s Lumi Iryo opens up to first, tells his name first, because it was her speech that made him act in the first place, saving her life. I just- whvjehcisjidjdbcn i love it so much

And Boros.

I already screamed about it in my twitter dms but

The brutality. I’m gonna scream into my pillow if I think about it more. Like I said, it is completely within reason for Boros to act this way. Protective of Lumi, his friend, with all his rage towards the enemy of his literal nightmares. I know all this. And YET.

Just the image- of Lumi begging Boros to stop hurting this person, who is not fighting back. Boros still full of sizzling animosity towards him, even when it’s clear Iryo’s not intending to do any harm. Boros demanding Iryo to speak, Boros feeling anger, enough to fucking attack him(or about to anyway), when the opponent is in obvious surrender. This whole bloody sequence’s got me VIBRATING with excitement, I literally cannot put into words how exhilarated I am about this.

And another thing I am CALM about this moment- Laura. How she can see the opponent is defenseless. Lumi, her friend, is by his side, indicating it’s safe, yet she’s still ready to attack, lifting her goddamn rifle up, even at the slightest change of Boros’ aura. This level of trust, this bond. This relationship they have. I AM CALM.

And Arkaus stepping in just in time to stop Boros from attacking again(this sentence alone is so fucking-wnduwhcjiwkfhwkdkhdhkd), I was actually not surprised that Arkaus held his hand out to Iryo. It’s what he did for Boros, to Laura, it’s what he does for everyone. Even if Iryo had attacked them before, even if he’s a former enemy they can’t trust, Arkaus is the type to trust the good in people, refusing to abandon them. Even if he had ulterior motives, like, idk gaining info which would make sense, I’m sure a large part of him still did it out of good will. He’s just a good guy. And I love that about him.

That’s about all I wanna say for this chapter, and Lara you were right about this chapter being controversial lmaoo😂

I know this is just a fic(i don’t really like saying that cuz it feels like I’m downplaying it) but I’ve gotten so emotionally invested in the story I’m acting like a critic analyzing and reviewing the latest MCU or Star Wars movie. Which honestly is the level of hype this fic deserves. But as I said, this is just a ramble of my shitty opinions and descriptions of my emotional high while reading the chapter so pls just read it as a passing comment.

All in all, I can’t stress enough how more of this fic I want, which only leaves me waiting for the next chapter with a burning desire. But I do that every two weeks so I’ll be fine.

Dark Matter rambles pt.2 (spoiler alert)

I’ve decided to start a new post cuz the old one was getting too long.

Ch.26

First of all, OH MY GOD

I had to calm myself down for a long time before writing this otherwise it would’ve just been a jumble of exclamations.

There is a LOT I wanna talk about in this chapter but I’ll narrow it down to three things- the battle, Einaros and GERYU.

Before we go in I wanna mention Boros’ dream. So his prophetic dreams are still coming to him, except with this one he was conscious. Well not conscious, but he could walk around, he had control over his body. I wonder what the difference was. With Exodia, a dream he’s had for so long warning(?) him of an attack, all he could do was experience what the dream gave him. It was vague, the only distinct thing being the environment around him, the dream only getting clearer as the real event approached. The two previous dreams he’s had was a prophecy of what will happen, something that will happen; there was nothing he could do about it. But with this one nothing seems to be happening, at least not yet. No signs of danger, no signs of anything really, only notable thing being the waterfall. Is it telling Boros of a place he’ll find himself in in the future? Probably. Is something important gonna happen there? Also probably. Maybe it’s another place with a clue? The place he’ll meet Geryu? No idea.

I used the term ‘warning’ above but that seems inaccurate. Warning implies that he could have done something to stop it. With Exodia maybe he could’ve persuaded the others to leave, but that seems unlikely. With the Maelstrom too, Proxima had the idea to stop the ship herself, even without Boros’ input. So his dreams are just showing him what will happen.. but now that he’s certain that it’s showing him the future, he’s determined to be prepared, he’s anticipating it. Is the new dream a result of this change? That he’s more prepared? Maybe, maybe not. But doubtless he’s had more control over it, even if it was only with his body. And he will be looking out for this place, anticipating it. That itself is a huge improvement compared to before, in my opinion.

(Also why was the Cyborg so cold when Boros mentioned his dreams?? His words sympathetic, but his tone cold- what does this mean? Does it have something to do with the voices?? This guy’s just wrapped up in mysteries!!)

Now onto the battle. AAAAAAAAA

Well the first thing I wanna mention is the centipede. Yes, it cracked me up to see that the monster was nothing other than a centipede, an acknowledgement to OPM’s love for those things no doubt😂

Speaking of OPM, it’s with this fight things are getting more and more like a.. shonen manga(??) seeing the main character getting stronger with every fight to be specific. Which is what OPM’s all about. So to see Boros doing that, to see this fic showing hints of what it will inevitably happen- it makes my heart race is what it does, to put it lightly.

And the way he fights, the way he defeated the creature; it wasn’t complicated, he just punched through it, but even in that simple fight we could see that he was being smart, strategic. The creature was so much bigger than him, so he waits for it to grab him first, bringing himself closer to what is most likely the creature’s vital spot; its head. And when it’s confirmed that he can do damage to it, he uses his enemy’s fight stance to give the final blow.

Two things- the copying of Iryo’s fighting style, and his energy output.

We are briefly shown Boros analyzing Iryo’s fighting style in the previous chapters. So to see him use it for himself, and victoriously at that, is SO exciting. How many of the Xar can replicate the exact moves of an enemy in a fight he’s had no control over? Not many I presume. Is it his desperation to keep his friends safe that has him learning so much from his traumatic experience? Probably. And this is rewarded with his complete calm during the fight, resulting him being able to control his stellar core, to push through his previous limits.. (limits huh)

And I can’t not mention the color of his energy turning blue, even if only briefly, to match what we’ll be seeing in OPM..

Also I love the little details like the sand crystalizing from his heat, and the shockwaves of each punch; it makes the fight so much more real.

All in all I think this fight was an excellent way to show how much Boros has learned and grown, and what his current capabilities are.. which is apparently what Einaros thinks of as well.. he is impressed.. But more on that in the next post.
