I gotta say I did not expect I’d love Miles this much, enough to look up shit like Secret War and Civil War II reading order, and worse, subject myself to Bendis’ writing of all things (he’s the reason why I stopped being a comic stan 5 years ago. I were a DC/ Superfam fan. You know the beef was BEEFING). Like, my tolerance of that dude now only stops at him being one of Miles’ creators. So that better writers can do the kid justice years later. That’s it.

Like, why is the “r u and Ganke together haha” a whole shtick that comes up multiple times during his run? It’s so annoying and painful to read. Miles can go around being paired up with different girls but the moment THAT question came up you know he gonna be super defensive and >:( about it which, eh, just does not line up with anything else happening in whatever story is happening at the time. At all.

The only silver of light is that Miles actually never says he doesn’t like boys, he just denies ever dating Ganke. Like, he could just say he doesn’t swing that way and the question would have stopped, but he doesn’t. So I know he be running around kissing the punk-est boy in the whole spider verse, ha!

Idk I’m near the end of Bendis’ run and some of it r good but a lot of them put me thru excruciating pain (cringe) so I have to complain about it.

Did I mention I were a DC stan 6 years ago? I'm also afraid I won't say anything coherent and useful to your questions, because there are many different directions I can go from with them...If we are talking about mixed media, I'm really into practical effects, that were popular in the old cinema (and can be found nowadays in things like Dhmis and I saw the tv glow), jdkslwlww there is something really uncanny and catchy about the mix of realistic imagery with something way more staged. This similarly applies to making simple and cartoony stuff mixed in with something more detailed and volumetric. Like....my art is FAR from there but this is what currently inspires me

The funny thing is that I also initially started to play around with clay bc learning 3d was driving me INSANE, tears fell down my face as I went through the stupid donut tutorials, but Im kinda both here and there by the end of it. ANYWAY, if you have any technical questions about clay mixed media or 3d you can always ask me!

And with the characters its just a bunch of things and tropes that are rotating in my head from the media I like (well, in case with the Knight its the opposite actually, I made him out of a bunch of different designs and writing choices that I hate and then got stupidly attached).....My favourite cartoon of all time is Over the Garden wall and I think it shows haha. I also adore how in games like INSCRYPTION, Undertale and Off your main cast consists of "people" that were initially antagonistic to the plot, but, with some time start to feel like friends to the player. I made a bunch of miserable, hateful people that WILL try to kill the main character, but by the end of it, I really want tginf to be about finding human connection in a scenario where everything and everyone is inhuman. I grew up listening to A LOT of horror stories, so thats my comfort media 😔✊

for the record i 1000% noticed and loved that daniel never touches lando's clit in in absentia, because it adds to the... idk if this is the right term but trope-subversion-y elements to it. like as a reader, if you're used to hurt/comfort or romanticized fix-it fics or maybe idfics that start with a very dark premise and then make it "okay" and safe, you're primed to expect this rote progression of chastity and non-con -> earning release (happening in tandem with a mutual humanization & understanding of boundaries) -> happily ever after clitoral stimulation and full-on "normalization" of the sexual relationship and roles (an inverse approach to "dabbling with kink" perhaps? starting from extreme kink and "dabbling with vanilla"???). so having there remain this boundary (daniel's Inverse Kink hard limit, the one vanilla thing he will not do) is super fun.

and then of course you've got this curiosity as the reader to what would happen if lando ever actually got his clit touched. so leaving that unfulfilled, so to speak, in the context of this particular story about denial is a brilliant meta touch ;)

this is the most perfect description in the world and i am so so so happy that all this came through to you! YES, that's exactly how i thought of it, the trope-subversion-y aspect of the sex slave h/c fix-it idfic realm (because, totally, all of the above, haha). i was absolutely thinking about that progression.

starting with the disclaimer which is that i also enjoy reading stories with that premise and a good healing dick fic can absolutely hit the spot sometimes! but yeah, exactly how you described it: the typical progression where the safety of the relationship is expressed through effectively vanilla sex. "dabbling with vanilla" is such a perfect way of putting it, because yes, like plot climax with characters doing some sweet kissing and making love. and i just thought it would be quite fun to play around with the opposite thing. (i thought about never having them kiss but then i decided they could but it would have to be the most unhinged first kiss.)

like partly because the dynamic i was having fun with was the non diegetic bdsm 😈 and for me personally the progression to vanilla is not the hot one. but also because i find the trope of the all powerful slave owner character just deciding to be kind because he's a "good person" doesn't lead to me feeling like the romance endgame is a true and legitimate relationship between equals. i find it so deeply appealing to think about lando independently establishing his power through his legitimate financial acumen. as opposed to the romanticization of victim-hood (the sex slave character being the "perfect victim", suffering so beautifully, nervous and eager to please, trying so hard. as readers we feel nothing but a river of empathy.), the exploration of how to move towards balancing an unequal power dynamic. but not through sex though 🚫 the chastity belt stays on 🚫

and then yessssss!!! the meta aspect of having like thematic denial in a story that's literally about denial!!! form needs to follow function! It's just the literary way 😂😂😂

anyway, no one has asked me to justify the no-clit touching but in my head both daniel and lando know that the only reason why it's so insanely good for lando to be fucked is because zero clit stimulation (because obviously objectively clit > fucking). and that now that daniel's not leading his traumatic soldier life and is at home all the time, he also only has orgasms with lando the same way lando only ever comes with him.

and maybe they end up doing some fun maintenance spanking stuff when lando's on the denial cycles to help him let out the pend up energy 🙂

Ok I didn’t have enough ideas for this to make it a full blurb haha but I can offer crumbs

It’s so obvious to reader from the moment she meets Jack, though she’s a little confused at first because they’re both so in love with each other but also not?

And to Nico, no Jack doesn’t look up to him, doesn’t want to be him. He just likes to piss him off, has fun pulling the typical middle child card and being a clown all the time. It’s just who he is.

At first, reader thinks Jack is just trying to play wing man and talk Nico up to her. Which was funny because Nico needs no advocates. His looks alone say enough.

But then she realizes he compliments Nico to the other guys too. Like always mentioning him, always talking about cool and calm he is, how steady

And Jack never says it to Nico’s face or in front of him. It’s like he wants it to be a secret between everyone else. He likes the love-hate relationship him and Nico have, likes that they’re always picking at each other and bickering. Like Jack doesn’t want Nico to know he actually looks up to him

One day she finally asks Timo, “so like is Jack in love with Nico? Or what’s the deal with them because it’s a little…ya know?”

“Know what?” Timo plays dumb because he just wants to see what she’ll actually say. He does in fact know.

“A little romance, enemies to lovers trope of them.”

Timo laughs at that, fully understanding what she means. “Yeah, Jack is just really affectionate and Nico isn’t I guess. Not openly so like they’re really close but their love language are not compatible at all so they just fight a lot.”

After that, she realizes it’s true. Nico has this insane over protective brother energy about Jack, one that makes him come off as too mean or too hard on Jack. And Jack’s way of showing admiration is through boyish teasing and jokes. He just wants attention, any way he can get it.

But it’s like they both know. Because Nico gets all fond and proud when she asks him about Jack, when he tells her about his brothers and how he’s basically following in Quinn’s footsteps but wants to make a path for Luke too. And Nico tells her-swears to her- that he’s going to make sure Luke ends up in Jersey with Jack. He’s insistent that they shouldn’t be separated.

And Jack loves Nico. He talks about him the way a little boy talks about superhero comics and their favorite athletes and their older brothers. Always compliments Nico clothes, tells him that he looks good, that he’s a heartbreaker.

Eventually, reader slowly points out to Nico how much he means to Jack. That the playful jealously jokes with her and teasing him about being handsome and funny aren’t just teasing, they’re how he actually feels. It’s just in more of a brotherly way, a way in that Jack does want to be like Nico.

Nico is lowkey caught off guard, but he does start to pay more attention to how he treats Jack, tries to act like more of a role model and teacher for him rather than a boss.

And as we all know, he does give him back his brother when he makes Luke a dev

Because Idia was insanely cruel to me when I was pulling for his tsum and broomquet cards, I have no other choice but to retaliate by making him suffer through as many embarrassing otome game/shoujo manga-esque tropes/situations as possible, all of which will be underneath the cut 😈

Okay, first off, I wanna say the reason behind Idia's upcoming suffering is none other than Ortho as well as all the other Ignihyde dorm members cause they all wanna support their OTP and think Idia could use some help, considering how he is and the fact that he's got a lot of strong rivals lol

After much deliberation, which entailed the shippers thinking about everything they know from otome games/anime/manga, they all come to the decision that the "forced to be together due to circumstances out of their control" trope is the way to go since Idia never leaves his room, so obviously, they need to bring Yuu to him and keep her there long enough that romantic hijinks can ensue.

They decide to go with the old tried and true handcuffed together trope in particular cause it's a classic and always so effective in fictional settings, and they don't see why that won't be the case in real life as well 😂

Naturally, cause this is Ignihyde we're talking about, they wouldn't use normal, old-fashioned handcuffs. Plus, it would be harder to get Idia to wear something that actually looks like handcuffs for obvious reasons lol

Instead, they make what look like metal bracelets, and the story that Ortho provides to Idia/Yuu is that someone from Ignihyde asked for Ortho's help in making them for one reason or another, so Ortho decided to bring them to Idia/Yuu to get their input.

Because he trusts Ortho so much, Idia doesn't bat an eye when Ortho places the "bracelet" on him, and obviously, neither does Yuu.

That's why they're both very surprised when, within seconds, the bracelets suddenly smash together, and they find themselves unable to separate the bracelets, which are now attached like magnets.

Making full use of all the acting techniques he's learned from Vil, Ortho acts surprised cause these bracelets, according to his fake story, should only be capable of acting as communication devices, accessing the internet, etc.

Soon after, Ortho "comes to the realization" that these must be the bracelets that the roommate of the guy he had been helping was working on which "coincidentally" look near identical to the ones Ortho had been helping with.

As Idia starts complaining about how impractical it is for roommates to be working on projects that look that similar, Yuu asks about the bracelets they're wearing and how to take them off since she quickly realizes she's unable to, much to Idia's dismay.

Ortho explains these bracelets are from an anime the roommate likes that he just wanted to recreate for fun. They're essentially handcuffs that keep people stuck together, although there is a feature that allows whoever is wearing them to be set free for no more than ten minutes so they can use the bathroom, etc.

Unfortunately, said feature can't be used multiple times back-to-back, so Idia can't constantly use it to keep from being close to Yuu, which Ortho knew his brother would do if the option was available lol

Once that time limit is reached, the bracelets will immediately seek each other out, as designed, and once again stick together like magnets.

Unsurprisingly, Idia demands that the guy who created the handcuff bracelets free him and Yuu. Unfortunately for him, while Ortho and creator of the bracelets try to free Idia/Yuu, they are unsuccessful because "for reasons beyond them" the bracelets aren't responding to the release code that their creator set up so he could always remove/disengage them.

Naturally, Idia also tries to remove them himself, but much to his amazement, he's unable to, and that's thanks to Ortho who made sure to Idia-proof the handcuffs ahead of time haha

Once enough time passes with all of Idia's efforts to free himself ending in total failure, Ortho and the bracelets' creator promise that they'll immediately start working on fixing the bracelets, which they thankfully can do remotely so everyone doesn't have to crowd around in Idia's room.

In the meantime, Ortho tells his brother to just be patient and to focus on being a good host to Yuu, whom he apologizes again to for all the trouble.

Idia, of course, is not a fan of the idea of being left alone in his room with Yuu, but sadly, he's unable to stop Ortho who hurries out of the room along with the guy who made the bracelets and Grim, whom Ortho promised to keep an eye on for Yuu as a form of apology for inconveniencing her so much.

As expected, Idia starts panicking cause all he can think about are all the otome games/anime/manga that involve the tried and true handcuffed together trope lol

It doesn't help matters that this happens AFTER Wish Upon a Star so Idia is especially awkward when it comes to these kinds of scenarios that remind him of those otome game dreams that had previously plagued him 😂

Thankfully, Yuu keeps her cool since, while this situation is a little exasperating, she's not all that bothered about having to stay with Idia in his room since it's not like she had any plans for the rest of the day.

She's really only concerned about Idia, whose heart may not be able to survive these current circumstances lol

That's why Yuu does her best to be accommodating/supportive toward Idia since she feels bad for him, and she doesn't want him passing out on her 😂

Yuu tries to get Idia to ignore the handcuff bracelets and just pretend this is like a normal day when she comes over to play video games, which is what she originally came to his room to do on that particular day. She's sure he'll be fine if he gets lost in his games since that'll help him temporarily forget about the real world.

Since Idia is desperate to escape facing reality, he goes along with the idea, but unfortunately for him, it's impossible to forget about his current circumstances due to Yuu's wrist essentially being attached to his and the fact that she has to sit close to him in order for him to use both of his hands when he games.

Regardless of whether Idia plays solo or Yuu plays with him, the positioning is awkward/uncomfortable cause of their wrists, although Idia is more bothered by the fact that Yuu is close enough that he can feel her warmth.

His heart starts pounding so hard that that's all he can focus on, and he can't stop freaking out about the possibility of Yuu being able to hear it 'cause how can she not when it's being so loud?!

Even though Idia keeps all his suffering thoughts to himself, Yuu can tell just from looking at his red face/pink hair that he's unable to escape reality with his video games, and she assumes it's because of their wrists being attached, which really is impossible to ignore.

That's why Yuu next suggests reading manga because their handcuffed wrists won't really get in the way since they're both capable of reading using one hand/their laps.

And they can do it with their backs facing each other, which she assumes would be preferable to Idia who likely wants to avoid looking at her in his current flustered state.

Idia quickly goes along with that suggestion since anything is better than his current predicament.

To a degree, it is since now Idia can avoid having to look at Yuu. However, he's still stuck being close enough to her that he can feel her body heat, even though Yuu made sure to avoid pressing her back against his for his sake.

Rather than focus on the manga he picked out for himself to read, all Idia can think about is how close he is to Yuu and how, at any moment, something unexpected could happen that results in their backs becoming pressed together, making them resemble lovers from otome games/shoujo manga who end up in scenarios where they each have their own work/tasks they need to do but still want to somehow be in physical contact with each other so they can simultaneously enjoy each other's company.

Countless scenarios of this nature run through Idia's mind, and he just continues spiraling when his traitorous mind makes him wonder what will happen if he's still handcuffed to Yuu when nighttime rolls around.

Surely, he won't be able to survive.

Without thinking, as he starts internally screaming upon thinking of the agonizing embarrassment that's ahead of him if Ortho doesn't save him soon, Idia moves to clutch his head, completely forgetting about what's currently attached to his left wrist.

Caught off guard cause it happens so fast, Yuu gets jerked toward Idia, and they collide, causing them both to fall over.

And that's how Idia, to his great dismay, finds himself lying on the floor with Yuu on top of him.

Needless to say, everyone in the entire dorm heard the high pitched shriek that Idia released during that moment.

(Meanwhile, Ortho and all the Yuu/Idia shippers are cheering cause the bracelets just alerted them of the drastic increase of Idia's heartrate which they automatically assumes means romantic hijinks are currently ensuing 🤣

Fortunately for Idia, the members of his dorm refrained from tapping the bracelets, so they're not spying on Idia/Yuu like they're fully capable of doing cause they wanna respect Idia/Yuu's privacy, and Ortho didn't think they should go that far.

So instead they're just making assumptions of what's going on based on Idia and Yuu's pulses, which the bracelets are able to clearly monitor, and because Ortho knows his brother so well, he can accurately make guesses about whether or not something potentially romantic is happening haha

In regards to Grim, he's been stationed in a room filled with snacks, video games, and movies, so he's just chilling, living his best life, completely oblivious to what the Ignihyde dorm is up to lol)

Miraculously, Idia manages to avoid passing out, but since the possibility of that happening is still there, Yuu quickly climbs off of him and tries to get Idia to calm down so he won't hyperventilate.

Thankfully, Yuu eventually manages to get Idia to calm down, although he refuses to look directly at her, and she wisely refrains from asking him what happened earlier when he was freaking out which caused them to collide since she doesn't want to take any chances of saying anything that will make him freak out again.

Instead, Yuu tries to distract Idia from his internal suffering by suggesting they watch some anime since that's something they can do while handcuffed, and she's hoping this will help him focus on anything other than the current situation at hand.

Since he has some new episodes that he has yet to watch that he's been meaning to check out, Idia goes along with her idea because surely watching some of his beloved anime will save him from this hell.

Fortunately, for a while, Idia is actually given a respite. While he's still overly conscious of Yuu being so close to him, he's able to mostly keep his focus on the anime they're watching.

Regrettably, everything goes downhill when an unexpected kiss scene happens in one of the episodes they watch.

Normally, Idia can watch those without batting an eye since fictional displays of affection don't bother him, but that's not the case this time cause the kiss scene happens after the main character and his crush end up locked in a room together for an extended period of time, which results in previously hidden feelings coming to light.

Seeing this, all Idia can hink about is how he too is currently stuck alone in a room with a cute girl, not to mention the fact that she's handcuffed to him, which makes things all the worse.

Needless to say, Idia is soon back to internally screaming about how unfair life is to him lol 😂

Yuu naturally picks up on Idia's embarrassment thanks to his scarlet face and bright pink hair and quickly figures out what's got him so flustered this time.

She kindly refrains from saying anything and releases an internal sigh of relief when the anime characters stop kissing and finally get out of the locked room since Idia somewhat settles down after that, although he's still incredibly flustered.

Despite that little incident, the two continue watching anime since it helps to distract Idia and makes it so he doesn't have to talk to Yuu lol

The rest of the afternoon passes like this, with the two watching anime and also playing board games, the latter of which was Yuu's idea since that's something that can also be done while they're handcuffed together and she thought Idia would get distracted if he got the opportunity to beat her like he so often does.

Unfortunately, Idia couldn't enjoy the board games as much as he usually would cause his traitorous mind decided to point out just how considerate Yuu has been of him all this time since she keeps making all these suggestions to accommodate him and never questions his embarrassing reactions. She just rolls with whatever he throws at her.

Idia can't stop himself from getting the "doki doki"s cause of the current circumstances they're in that make him hyper aware of stuff like that, which he'd normally not think too much about for the sake of his sanity lol

He can't stop himself from thinking that Yuu would truly make for a great otome game heroine since, despite her being a scary delinquent tomboy, she's very kind/considerate toward the people she cares about. She's definitely someone who can trigger other people's romantic flags, especially with her ridiculously OP charisma stat.

In hopes of bringing himself back to reality, Idia quickly assures himself that there's no way anyone would ever wanna go for the route of a gloomy otaku shut-in like him. Yuu has sent him a friend request, but that's as far as this relationship is going.

Despite this, Idia still gets flustered whenever Yuu smiles after making a good play in whatever game they're playing, and his heart won't stop pounding like a drum whenever her kind/soft gaze focuses on him.

At this point, Idia really wants someone to just come and put him out of his misery 😂

Unfortunately for Idia, his suffering is far from over since, when evening comes, Ortho and the others are still unable to disengage the bracelets, and they don't think they'll be able to free Yuu & Idia before morning, meaning Yuu has no other choice but to spend the night in Idia's room, much to Idia's great dismay.

In regards to dinner, Ortho prepares it for Yuu & Idia since Yuu obviously can't cook while attached to Idia, especially since Idia refuses to leave his room.

As a form of apology for all the trouble that their dorm caused her, Ortho makes a dish he knows Yuu really likes, but he especially focuses on dessert by making several since he knows how much Yuu loves sweets.

While this is a good thing for Yuu, who's obviously touched by the sweet gesture, the same can't be said for Idia who spends the majority of dinner internally screaming cause he can't stop thinking that the faces Yuu makes when she's happily eating sweets are really cute.

Up until this point, Idia never gave much thought to the faces Yuu makes when she's happy, but under his current circumstances, his traitorous brain can't stop itself from pointing stuff like this out.

It doesn't help that they have to eat side-by-side, and their arms end up constantly brushing against each other. That's why Idia is unable to ignore Yuu and her cute expressions despite how much he desperately wants to.

Idia is suffering™ 🤣

(This was all a part of Ortho's grandmaster plan. While he did want to do something nice for Yuu, he mostly just wanted to give her food that would result in her making lots of cute faces. According to the data he has on her, some of the cutest expressions of Yuu's that he has on file are the ones when she's eating sweets, and he was counting on his brother taking notice of that and getting charmed by her cuteness as a result 😂)

Fortunately for Idia, although Yuu is very much aware of his scarlet face and flaming pink hair, she never brings attention to his embarrassment, which she assumes is because their arms keep brushing against each other.

When dinner finally ends, Idia is internally begging for a miracle - to be saved from this torture.

Regrettably, that salvation doesn't come. On the contrary, his suffering only increases thanks to Ortho who, after dinner, returns to Idia's room after having kindly made a trip to Ramshackle along with Grim to fetch a change of clothes for Yuu.

Ortho's "kindness" comes back to bite his brother cause, after Yuu takes the shortest shower of her life, she hurriedly returns to Idia's side, wearing a tank top and shorts, resulting in Idia getting a clear view of her muscular figure and her chest, the latter of which's size is bigger than people first assume cause of the kinds of clothes Yuu typically wears lol

Cue Idia shrieking like he's being chased by a horror movie serial killer 🤣

Having expected this sort of reaction, Yuu, who really has no control over this since Ortho had Grim collect the clothes she had previously been wearing while she was showering, apologizes and explains this is the only change of clothes that Ortho provided her, and she can only assume it's cause he had Grim go into their shared room to collect your clothes and Grim just grabbed whatever without giving his clothing choices much thought.

What makes it even worse for Idia is the fact that Yuu's hair is still wet since she couldn't afford to take the time to dry it.

Panicking, Idia hurriedly finds one of his baggy hoodies and some sweatpants and forces Yuu to wear them cause he won't survive otherwise.

He soon regrets that decision, however, when he sees how adorable Yuu looks when wearing his clothes that are obviously big on her cause of their height difference and the fact that I HC that Idia prefers baggy clothes.

(This is also all according to Ortho's grandmaster plan. He knew Idia would react like this, and he wanted this to happen cause what's more romantic than the heroine wearing her love interest's clothes?)

Unfortunately, there's really nothing Idia can do since he can't get ahold of Ortho to get him to find new clothes for Yuu, and he refuses to leave his room while handcuffed to her.

As a result, Yuu ends up wearing Idia's clothes for the remainder of the evening, and they'll also be her pajamas for the night.

Once she has put on Idia's clothes, Yuu uses the towel she brought into the room to towel-dry her hair which she didn't have enough time to dry in Idia's bathroom.

This is a slow-going process since Yuu is only using one hand for Idia's sake, and it's agonizing for Idia cause her dripping wet hair is making his heart pound like crazy, and he has no idea why. Why is he getting so flustered over something like this?! 😂

That's why Idia eventually snatches Yuu's towel and dries her hair himself with both of his hands since the sooner her hair gets dried the better, although doing so is murder on his pounding heart cause all he can think about are all the couple scenes from the anime/manga/otome games he's seen that have lovers drying each other's hair.

(This is also what Ortho was going for. It's why he sneakily made sure there were no hair dryers available for them to use 🤣)

Thanks to Idia being so desperate to end his suffering as quickly as possible, he's able to dry Yuu's hair pretty quickly, and she thanks him for his help, all the while giving him a pitying look cause of how flustered he looks lol

Because he really doesn't want to go through the embarrassment of Yuu offering to dry his hair, Idia decides not to take a shower that night.

Plus, Idia isn't confident about getting in and out of the bathroom in under ten minutes cause anything can go wrong when he's panicked/flustered, and Idia would rather die than risk Yuu seeing him fresh out of the shower 😂

Once Idia has made it clear that he'll save showering for after the bracelets are removed, the topic of sleeping comes up cause of how late it is.

Because the only way the two of them can sleep thanks to the bracelets is by sharing a bed, Idia is naturally against the idea of sleeping and instead insists on binging anime all night since sharing a bed with Yuu will surely kill him lol

Unfortunately for Idia, this is the one time when Yuu doesn't try to accommodate him since she doesn't approve of him pulling all-nighters cause it's not good for his health. Plus, she can tell he didn't get much sleep the previous night, no doubt because he stayed up late gaming, so she is determined to get Idia to sleep tonight, much to his dismay.

In hopes of making the situation easier for Idia to handle, Yuu suggests making a pillow barrier between them. That way, they won't ever get too close.

Thankfully, Idia's bed is a decent sized one, so they can both comfortably fit on it even with the pillow barrier.

Idia does his best to resist at first, but in the end, he gives in since he knows he's no match for Yuu when it comes to matters like this. Plus, she has been extremely accommodating the whole day, and he can't blame her for not wanting to stay up the whole night.

That's how they eventually find themselves on Idia's bed with countless pillows in between them since Idia wanted to make the biggest possible barrier lol

As expected, despite the pillow barrier, Idia can't bring himself to relax because of these current extremely embarrassing circumstances, so he's expecting to stay up the whole night, staring at the ceiling while bemoaning how cruel life is to him 😂

Much to Idia's surprise, he's eventually pulled away from his internal suffering when Yuu's hand, the one that's attached to his and is currently buried underneath the pillow barrier, takes hold of his hand and gives it a reassuring squeeze.

Half-asleep at this point cause of the late hour, Yuu, who's able to pick up on Idia's distress, sleepily tries to calm him down by assuring him that everything will be fine. Nothing will happen tonight, and Ortho will save the day tomorrow.

As she's talking, Yuu softly strokes Idia's clammy hand with her thumb in a calming motion in hopes of helping him relax. She also starts quietly humming the kind of soft, soothing tune you'd hear playing during lullabies.

Unsurprisingly, Idia gets flustered by the hand-holding, but at the same time, strangely enough, he somehow does begin to calm down for some reason, most likely cause of Yuu's humming since he ends up focusing on that more than the fact that she's holding his hand.

Because Yuu is self-conscious about her singing, Idia has never heard her sing before, and humming is also rather rare, although she has been doing that more as of late, so he can't help but be entranced, especially since it's such a lovely sound.

Of course, his heart still skips a beat when he realizes that Yuu is moving out of her comfort zone for his sake, making him think another of his flags just got triggered lol

Eventually, thanks to Yuu's efforts, they both end up falling asleep, hand-in-hand, and are able to remain in a deep sleep throughout the rest of the night.

This ends up being a bad thing for Idia, however, cause, once his little brother is sure the coast is clear, Ortho sneaks into the room so he can check on how Idia is doing.

After quietly cheering about how well things appear to be going, Ortho decides to remove the pillow barrier since that'll obviously only be in the way of possible future romantic scenarios 😂

Once that's done, Ortho quietly wishes them both a good night and retires to his room where Grim is fast asleep.

Because of Ortho's actions, Yuu is understandably caught off guard when her internal alarm clock wakes her up and she finds herself being hugged by a sleeping Idia who's now treating her like his favorite body pillow.

Not having expected Idia to be a secret cuddler, Yuu is surprised by how tightly he's hugging her and how he's even got his face buried against her neck. Their legs are even entangled - to the point she knows there's no way she'll be moving anytime soon, not without risking waking Idia.

Fortunately, Yuu isn't bothered by this turn of events since she likes cuddling with her friends, and she honestly thinks it's pretty cute that Idia, of all people, is a secret cuddler.

(This is my HC since Idia probably is touch-starved to a certain extent considering how he isolates himself and has been doing that for most of his life, although he does have a warm, affectionate family which is why he's not as bad off as Yuu.

Plus, I could see him being the type who seeks out the closest heat source when he sleeps since I feel like he has a naturally low body temperature despite having fire hair lol)

Thankfully, Yuu already contacted Jack in advance to let him know she'd be missing their usual morning run since she knew getting Idia involved in that was out of the question.

As a result, Yuu has nowhere she needs to be, so while Idia continues to sleep, she just passes the time by playing with his hair which is all over the place thanks to all the moving Idia did while he was sleeping.

Regrettably, this peaceful atmosphere doesn't last forever since Idia has to wake up sometime, and when he finally does, he makes it very loud and clear that he's awake lol

With a piercing shriek that makes Yuu wince cause of their close proximity, Idia pulls away from her and tries to put as much distance between them as possible.

That, of course, ends in his total failure thanks to the bracelets that force Yuu to move along with Idia, so as a result, she ends up falling onto Idia, eliciting even more screams from him 🤣

For the sake of her poor eardrums, Yuu quickly covers Idia's mouth and tells him to stop screaming. Otherwise, she won't remove her hand from his mouth, and she won't try to give him some space.

Since that's obviously the last thing Idia wants, he quickly settles down, and once she's sure she won't have to worry about any more screaming, Yuu finally uncovers his mouth and pulls away from him.

After that exchange, Idia asks what happened to the pillow barrier, and Yuu tells him that, since the pillows are scattered around them and she never left her side of the bed, she can only assume Idia demolished the barrier while he was moving in his sleep.

Naturally, Idia refuses to believe he would ever do such a thing, even while asleep, but regrettably, he's unable to think of another plausible explanation since it's true he was the one who was tightly clinging onto Yuu earlier rather than the other way around, and he was on her side of the bed when he woke up.

Idia is absolutely mortified. He just wants the ground to open up and swallow him whole. Please just put him out of his misery 😂

Feeling bad for him, Yuu assures Idia that she won't tell anyone about what happened and she won't tease him about it either. She also assures him that she wasn't bothered by his actions since she likes cuddling with her friends, and she knows Idia had no impure intentions cause he was asleep.

This really doesn't make Idia feel much better since he's too deep into his mortification by this point. He can't even really hear her cause he's breathing so hard/loudly, on the verge of passing out cause it's all too much for him at this point.

Upon realizing this, Yuu quickly but gently takes hold of Idia's face, forcing him to look her in the eye.

While maintaining that eye contact, Yuu gently instructs him to match her breathing - to think of nothing but breathing.

Idia weakly resists at first, but eventually, he follows her instructions cause the worry in her eyes is so obvious and he doesn't like that he's the reason that worry is there.

Plus, Yuu uses the word "please" when she asks him to match her breathing, which further shows how concerned she is about him since she's pleading with him to listen to her.

Despite everything she has unintentionally put him through these last 12+ hours, Idia can't bring himself to take things out on her, like he probably would if it was anyone else he was stuck with.

He can't intentionally do something that will make her sad.

As a result, Idia's breathing eventually calms down thanks to Yuu's efforts, and it's only once he completely settles down that Yuu finally releases his face.

Once Idia finally calms down, Yuu gently brushes away his hair from his face, making him blush, all the while holding his gaze. She tells him that he can trust her - that she won't ever purposely do anything to hurt him, so recent events won't change anything.

Once this is all over, Yuu won't bring up recent events again unless Idia wants to. She won't tease him or try to have fun at his expense, because she cares about him and always wants him to be comfortable in her presence. She would never purposely do anything to ruin that, especially not after what happened following the Ghost Bride incident.

So Idia doesn't need to worry so much. She can understand how his negative mind always makes him assume the worst, but this one time she wants him to trust her more than those negative thoughts. She wants him to believe she's not like the kind of person who would hurt him for her own amusement.

The whole time she's talking, Idia just stares at her with wide eyes as his heart once again starts rapidly pounding.

Strangely enough, despite how hard his heart's pounding, Idia doesn't feel panicked like he did all the other times this happened.

On the contrary, Idia feels the calmest he's felt since this whole bracelet handcuff nightmare began.

Catching Yuu off guard, Idia suddenly starts laughing, as if he heard the best joke ever.

For several seconds, all he can do is laugh before Idia says it's just like a shounen protag to say something so cheesy/sappy. He can't believe she can say something so embarrassing with a straight face like that.

Before Yuu can complain, although she is happy to see Idia acting more like his usual self, Idia tousles her hair and says, with a grin, that he's completely forgotten what he had been so bothered about cause of Yuu's typical cringe.

After he thanks her, using his typical mocking tone, making Yuu pout, Idia just continues to laugh and ruffle her hair.

One of the main reasons he laughs so much is cause Idia hopes the sound of voice will drown out the sound of his still heavily pounding heart, and he hopes that by mocking her like this his hair won't give away the fact that Yuu's words actually made him really happy and assuaged his worries just as she had intended.

Around that time, Ortho arrives on the scene, and because things are looking so good between Idia and Yuu, he finally releases them from the bracelets, with the claim that they finally fixed the bug that was making them malfunction.

With a cheer, Idia leaps out of his bed and heads for his gaming console, so he can resume the gaming he had to put on hold, all the while enjoying his newfound freedom.

Much to Yuu's surprise, Idia tells her to hurry and grab a controller so they can do some dungeon crawling together. This catches her off guard since she would've thought that he'd want her to scram so he can have some much needed alone time.

Once she overcomes her surprise, Yuu moves to join him, all the while feeling happy about the fact that it seems her previous words really did reach Idia since he seems genuinely comfortable around her despite recent events.

All the while, Ortho gives himself a pat on the back for his excellent matchmaking. Obviously, his recent scheme was a total success, so now, he's even more enthusiastic about matchmaking! He's gonna do his best for his big brother and make sure Idia's the one who gets that Best Love End!

Idia, of course, won't be nearly as enthusiastic 😂

I just finished reading the new chapter and damn! It was such a rollercoaster of emotions!

And I can't even begin to describe just how much I hate Selene! Not saying it in a bad way though, just to be clear! She's just the kind of character I can't stand, even if she's delightfully written. Az suggested to my MC to be cordial with her for the time being, and the plan is sound, but damn, it'll be hard. She's that kind of character I find interesting because I think her circumstances are awful and tragic, but at the same time I can't bring myself to feel bad for her because it doesn't justify the way she currently acts (as explaining someone's behavior is not the same as justifying it). With that being said, I thank you so SO much for allowing us to tell the siblings (well, the siblings in my case since I'm on Az's route) about Selene already. I was genuinely scared it would be one of these situations where the MC just clams up and doesn't tell anyone about what's happening for who knows how many chapters, which is a trope I really tend to dislike. It was such a pleasant surprise to avoid it altogether!

Now, onto more "positive feelings", I'm so in love with Az. They are such a wonderful character on all accounts. The clothing and ring shopping was just so perfect, and damn that hug! Though I'm really insanely curious about what is the underlying issue they have in relation with the MC. I sort of "felt" it already before in the way they acted, but now thanks to the PoV change I had their actual thoughts on it, but I'm no closer to knowing what's going on, though at least I had confirmation of what I felt about it (so I guess it's still something!). It still fascinates me how Az isn't even "my type" of RO normally, and in any other story I would have probably picked one of the two royals, but I don't know, something about them immediately captured me entirely. I'm also pretty curious about what's the relationship between the siblings, because the more I think about them, the more I realize I don't know much about their dynamics. With the two royals, we at least know more of their dynamics thanks to some asks on the blog and what not, but the two siblings... I don't recall you saying much. And well, in that infirmary scene, it was a bit hard to read it considering they were both preoccupied with the MC and their injury and the Selene stuff and so on.

That aside, after re-reading from scratch (I changed computers and don't have my saves anymore), I had a theory that sprung in my mind. I think there is indeed an oracle blocking MC's visions of their own future that is NOT Selene. And that oracle would be MC's mother. She may be a powerful enough oracle to see pretty far in the future, and it's possible she saw something in her child's future that had her deciding to not only abandon them, but prevent them from seeing their future. Or rather, the future she saw. Meaning as long as MC was on a path or time frame where what she saw wouldn't appear to them, then they could see their future normally. But once they found themself on said path - probably related to the apocalyptic vision at the start of the game - it triggered the "block" as now we enter the territory of what MC's mother saw and thus knows well enough to block. Of course, I may be wildly overthinking it or just be plain wrong haha!

Okay, that's it. Yeah, it's a VERY long ask that... isn't even an "ask" since I'm not asking anything! But I had so many feelings about this chapter! It was probably the best so far!

I hoped some would like Selene and some would not, so I’m pleased to see people have different feelings about her! I personally really love her because she’s a tragic character and tragic characters are my thing 😂 though I agree that her past doesn’t justify her current actions.

Yeahh. I was thinking of allowing to hide the incident with Selene, but the Oracle has their priorities straight, so it wouldn’t make sense for their character to sacrifice their own standing for Selene. They went to Vez to get their freedom back, and they’re not giving it away so easily. So I had to throw out that branch.

I’m happy you enjoyed Az’s route, especially considering they’re not your type! You’ll learn what their deal is with the Oracle in the future 😉 The next couple of chapters should have more Az + Ash combo, so I’ll have time to show their dynamic. But they’re pretty uh normal siblings? Az is a troublemaker, and Ash’s perpetually but fondly tired of their antics.

Your theory was very interesting to read. Thank you for sharing it! It’s wild and cool that people actually have theories about my story 🥺 Obviously I can’t confirm or deny it, but you’ll get the answer eventually.

So much this! I saw someone else say it the other day and after thinking on it I agree, that they said things probably got shifted around because of Easter and Tim coming up with the idea of Bobby “dying” and being “resurrected” in concurrence with it because he no doubt would think it would be so clever and just couldn’t resist the idea. No matter how much it messed the already existing stories up to shift them back so he could do it.

And it’s like. Ok fine. There is nothing wrong with wanting to take movies or tropes like religious holidays for your religious character and doing stories about them. But when it’s an ensemble show, and only 45 minutes a week, you need to actually have those movie or trope storylines planned out from the start. Not 6 months into filming just go oh haha everyone will think I’m so clever for this! I know you’ve all filmed and written these episodes buttttt scrap it all. We’re gonna do this instead I think ! Because when you do that you end up where we are now. With the nightmare of problems him trying to do that with Vertigo caused still causing issues for everyone.

I don't know about that one Nonny. I mean, those funeral scenes were BIG big. They would have had to ask permission to close off that street and film there all day long. They would have to ready all of that equipment and make sure they had enough extras to pull if off. I don't think it's possible to just 'arrange' something big like this in a month, just because he realised it would air right after Easter.

No, I do think this episode was planned well ahead. I'm also not convinced it's actually going to be a 'real' funeral. I'm still undecided on whether it might be someone's dream or hallucination OR an actual Bobby funeral.

The Vertigo plot though? Yeah, that was something he admitted he came up with during filming and just decided to go for it, which is never a good idea. He fumbled up there.

The same with the Hot Shots plot. He liked the idea and liked the actor that played Brad, so he just stretched out that plot line in 8A to the point where Brad had more scenes than the main characters in some episodes. Which was just insane.

But ultimately, he is the showrunner of a very succesful TV-show, so obviously he is doing something right. 🤷‍♀️

I'm just hoping that someone from ABC sits the man down to chat with him about his plans for season 9 and to hold him to those plans.

authors note: hi! im gorgon and this is my first fic :) i am definitely NOT a writer, but i had an idea and i decided i wanted to do it myself >:)) this is turning into a slow burn type of thing i am so sorry haha. i usually like getting right into the thick of things but i just kept writing sos

It’s been six months since you came to the Dawn Winery. You’ve come to love Mondstadt and you adore the staff who share your home. The only person who was still warming up to you is your cold shouldered husband. Master Diluc wasn’t known to be an affectionate man, and he kept himself busy with business or stayed late at Angels Share. Even though you’d been married for months, you could count on one hand how many times you’d actually spent a moment alone with him. He avoided you, and quite frankly, you avoided him. You knew you’d never get a chance at marrying for love since you were the eldest daughter of a well known Lord in Fontaine. Your marriage was purely political, but you lived an easy life here. The stillness that you experienced most days was a relief compared to the constant partying and being paraded around at events like you were an item to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. You were, however, incredibly lonely. Adelinde tried to remind you that Master Diluc was a very kindhearted person, he just needed time to adjust. 

“It hasn’t been that long since you arrived and married the Master, Lady y/n. Just give him time, he shows his affections in… his own way. You’ll see.” You sighed. Another six months of avoiding each other may drive you mad. You were an independent woman, and not being allowed to lift a finger in your own home was driving you past boredom towards insanity. 

“Do you think I’ll be able to help with the grape harvests soon? Master Diluc will be away on business for at least another month and I’m happy to provide another pair of hands.” You phrased it as a question, but as the Lady of the house Adelinde wasn’t in a position to refuse. She giggled as if you had asked her something rather mischievous.

“I know we could use the help. Besides, you could put that vision of yours to good use and keep everyone cool, I’m sure.” You didn’t get many chances to use your cryo vision anymore, and you jumped excitedly at the thought. Your husband can hardly stand the cold, and you’ve tried to limit how much you use it out of respect for him. He may avoid you, but he hasn’t been unkind. You try to afford him the same treatment, even if it was difficult at times. You were directly going against his wishes by offering to help with any harvesting work out in the hot summer sun, but what your husband doesn’t know won’t hurt him. 

“I’ve got more frozen lemonade, boys!” You yelled out to the men working tirelessly in the vineyard. Adelinde held an umbrella out for you to shield you from the afternoon heat, but you were feeling perfectly cool after using your vision to make a huge batch of frozen drinks for your employees. 

“Thank you, Lady y/n!” Each man said one after another, quickly snatching their drinks from the tray you brought out. You all had been working for hours at this point, your nose and cheeks were tinged pink from the sun. 

“Alright, after this we’ll get back to it. I’ve got a bit of energy left!” you said cheerily. 

“You most certainly will not.” a familiar gruff voice asserted behind you. Your eyes widened before you slowly turned to come face to face with your husband, speechless. He was home more than two weeks early. You stood before him in a thin undershirt and underskirt to combat the heat, sweaty, sticky, and sunburned. Embarrassed, you whispered softly,

“Welcome back, Master Diluc.” You averted your eyes from his gaze, suddenly feeling exposed in your current state. 

“Adelinde, please see y/n to her chambers and have her rest. I’ll help with the remainder of today's harvest.” he spoke as though you weren’t even there, and you were close to snapping. You can’t though, not for everyone to hear. Adelinde began to shuffle you back to the winery, and you chanced a glance back to look at your husband. He had already shrugged his coat off and began unbuttoning his shirt. He looked up to see you staring, and you swore you saw a small smile appear on his face. Surely not, you thought to yourself. And you let Adelinde take you inside to bathe and relax after a long afternoon in the hot sun. 

After your bath you sat alone in your room, wondering whether or not you wanted to find your husband. The harvests of the day had long since ended, and the skies were stained pink and orange as the sun set. You had a perfect view of the vineyard from your window, so you sat to watch the sky as you got lost in thought. You began to mindlessly braid your frizzy curls, and became so engrossed in the thought of your shirtless husband that you didn’t hear a quiet knock at your door. 

“Y/n?” You jolted at the sudden intrusion, only to see the subject of your wandering thoughts in your doorway. You looked away quickly, wanting to hide the flush creeping up to your cheeks. You felt hopelessly exposed again, only donning your summer nightdress. Your husband was a handsome man, you knew that. But you didn’t know him. After six months of marriage you knew nothing about the man in front of you, but you were finally ready to find out. 

“I did knock,” he smiled sheepishly, “I wanted to… see to you being well rested before I retired for the evening.” You furrowed your brow in confusion. This was the first time Diluc had visited your chambers, and he wanted to make sure that you were resting? You quickly changed your mind about getting to know him, and you could feel agitation creeping into your skin. 

“I am very well rested, thank you Master Diluc.” you replied flatly. His expression fell slightly, and you scrambled to find something else to say. 

“I told you not to call me that. I’m your husband, calling me Diluc will suffice.” You scoffed at him in response.

“Some husband, who has hardly spoken to his lonely wife in six months. Hardly even seen her as well! Leaving her to entertain herself day in and day out. I think if I become any more restless I may die from the madness!” You clapped a hand over your mouth as soon as the words left your lips. Wide eyed, you glanced at the man in your doorway once again. He’s nothing but a stranger, you reminded yourself. Even so, you didn’t mean to sound so harsh.

“I apologize,” you immediately whisper, “I didn’t mean for that to sound so unpleasant.” He smiled gently in response. Even if you pushed the limits of what you could do, even with your fiery quips and sarcastic comments, he only ever showed you a softness that no one else witnessed. Maybe you were the one giving him the cold shoulder and hadn’t realized it. You crossed your arms in response to your own thoughts.

“Don’t apologize for saying things I need to hear. I know I’ve been exceptionally busy since you came to Mondstadt. After the harvests are done, I’ll have a bit more freedom to do as I like with my time. I’ll see to it that I spend some of that time with you. Sleep well.” He quickly turned on his heel and was out of your room, leaving you speechless. You couldn’t help but notice your heart pounding, and you clutched your chest in hopes of calming it quickly. The sky was almost dark now, and you watched as crystalflies floated through the vineyard. Your heart had slowed its pounding, and you sat in your window again to go over what your husband just said to you. 

Diluc quickly made his way across the winery to his own chambers and let out a sigh when he closed his door behind him. His heart threatened to beat out of his chest after the short interaction with you, and he couldn’t deny the bulge growing in his trousers after seeing you in your thin nightdress. 

“Damn it.” he breathed. No matter the distance he kept between the two of you, the yearning he felt became clearer and clearer. He wanted you, and badly at that. Kindness flowed out of you like water, your fiery personality was intoxicating, and you were undeniably the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. He resisted growing close to you because he worried about putting you in danger. Anyone close to him could be used as collateral against him, and if anything happened to you his relationship with the Lords in Fontaine would crumble. Is he worried about that, though? Or is he more worried about any harm coming to you? He shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose, cursing at himself. 

Spending time with you would change nothing. He was sure he could easily entertain you once or twice a week when the Winery’s busy season came to an end. He took a breath and slowly began to undress for the evening. He huffs at the chilly night air flowing in from his open window, kissing his tanned and freckled shoulders. Diluc didn’t like the cold. It reminded him of what his life became after losing his father, and preferred to keep his body and home warm despite how hot it became throughout the summer months in Mondstadt. He thought of your cryo vision, and wondered if your body stayed cool in the same way that his body stayed hot due to his own pyro vision. Do you even like the heat? What was your favorite season? Would you ever tolerate being touched by him? His mind was racing again. Stripped bare aside from his shorts, he flopped onto his bed and dug the heels of his palms into his eyes. 

Gods, she’ll lead to my ruin if I’m not careful. He stretched his arms over his head, seeing stars from the pressure of his palms. He smiled. Maybe any ruin you lead him to could be worth it.

That's actually really interesting- I made this blog I think a year, or more, before I actually started interacting..? Hmm, I don't know- is it a stupid answer to say positivity..? Honestly just- I love seeing people go absolutely feral wild nuts in the tags on someone's post, and I love doing it, giving and receiving enthusiastic praise/comments/tags, it's absolutely the best feeling, and I was so lucky to find a group of people when I first started being active on here who reblogged with such. Lengthy and beautiful and feral tags, and it just!! always made me SO happy, both to give and receive, so I'm gonna say that!!! absolutely batshit insane feral positivity, I just love that enthusiasm!! I've read a bunch of your stuff for a while now, and it only just occurred to me that you don't really write for the Yan who attack their affection. I mean, yeah they get "punished" but not actually killed or maimed. That's not a bad thing! I just noticed cause I write Yan totally different and its p cool!

Like, I write them as a horror trope. All the obsessiveness building, a desire to take and control, to dissect the target socially or mentally or even physically, so the Yan knows them inside and out, and no one else can know them the same way. And if that hurts the target, then that doesn't matter.

Meanwhile, you write it more as a romantic or overprotective thing. "The world is bad, and I'll keep you away from it", where its more delusional(? Sorry, I don't know a nicer word for it) than straight up possessive.

I don't mean anything bad by this. Honestly, I think it's super cool! A base concept being two entirely separate subgenres(?) based on interpretation is just awesome, imo! And I'm not trying to say the two styles are exclusive, either! Just a sliding spectrum type deal.

It's not a bother at all! This was honestly fun to receive as no one's ever asked me questions like this. I'm so sorry I got so rambly and excited that I'm gonna have to put this under a read more 😭

I do intentionally stick to the whole Possessive/Protective/Delusionall way of writing for my fics! Growing up, nearly all the yandere fics I could get my hands on and read were violent. I loved reading yandere stuff but so much of it had me baffled and wondering if the yandere even loved their love interest. A lot of it was yanderes hurting and berating their love interest. I just could not wrap my head around the why when I was younger, especially since I was facing abuse at home. My reasoning when I was a pre-teen was a yandere was supposed to be insanely in love with a person, why behead them? (Actual fic I read on devientart)

You can probably tell on my blog since I do this now still, but I bounced a lot between platonic yandere and romantic yandere. Some of my platonic works float around somewhere (I wrote platonic yandere father England to America for Hetalia at some point LMAO) but not much of my old stuff is in my docs. My dad would go through my shit every once and a while and so I was so paranoid with my writings that a lot of stuff is just sitting in one google docs of an email that I can't quite remember.

That was quite long-winded but it's just my go-to. It started out as intentionally writing stuff this way and now I hardly ever think about it. I'm not sure how easy this is to tell from my blog, but I've been suffering from depression for years. I get periods where I feel so energized and alive and ready to write that I spam this or my other blogs with writing. Most of my inspiration comes from those periods, when I receive asks and am actually in the headspace to get the picture out of my brain.

Half the time though, I get the inspiration from stuff I read or watch! And I'm not sure if this counts as a trope, but quite a bit starts as a platonic yandere thing. I think of Tord mainly, being overprotective over a child, and then once I get that out of my system the au shifts. The Android Tord au actually started that way before I shifted to Tord focusing on the other 3! The platonic thing also started when I was young, again from the abuse I was facing at home.

If that doesn't count as a trope, then I suppose robots/unhuman entities! I have quite a few aus like that on here haha. I just love the concept and use it a lot for different aus/scenarios. A concept I've kept in my brain for a long, LONG time is of Zombie Tord taking care of a small child alongside a robot version of himself that he built. Bits and pieces exist in my docs but I've never really written anything coherently lol.

Wait now that you've got me going!!! HOMESTUCK!! I have this bigass au that's remained in my brain off any docs or paper for YEARS! I've tried writing it in a way to post but I've just never gotten very far since there's so much lore and detail that I need for people to understand but get too overwhelmed. A loooot of stuff starts from that au and branches off into whatever single entity I wrangle it into.

Aside from that, I also just don't bother posting anything from it because man people do not like anything that isn't an x reader or even a reader insert. A lot of my stuff flops hard because it's not x reader-based. Whole other can of worms that I won't get into though!

just finished ch 7 and it’s 3am so my thoughts may not be intelligible But i just have to mention that with every new chapter (especially as things are picking up), i am just more and more amazed and impressed by the fact that all three of you are writing this story.

it was really clear to me from the beginning that you guys were super great with being cohesive, seamless, etc. between chapters despite having multiple authors. nothing’s ever felt disjointed or drastically different which is a feat in itself.

but i think what’s really been on my mind recently, especially with chapter six and chapter seven in mind, is that there’s actually SO much depth added from this being a collaboration.

i don’t want to assume anything of course, (all my knowledge comes from a little over a year and for one fandom so it’s small in scope) but the more i think about it, the more i’m just beyond impressed at how the events of each chapter seem to pair so well with their respective authors.

i don’t know if this makes any sense at all so i’m sorry if it doesn’t but. i guess i just mean that the range of emotions and experiences are just broadened so much by the “dividing and conquering” aspect. maybe i’m going insane i don’t know but?? there’s something about the stargazing, makeshift-sleeping-bag-cuddling, practical introspection at war with yearning, vibes of chapter seven that just has suni written all over it. and then to go back to chapter six with the excitement of the camp games, the thrill of the competition, the type of bright summer day that’s so visceral you might as well be there yourself just from reading about it?? andi 100%.

(and the same could be said for every chapter with all three of you it’s just that the most recent two have been set during very specific events haha)

again i am sorry if this does not make sense but i’m just trying to say that i can’t think of a more effective way to execute a collaboration; it’s cohesive and unified but you guys are all playing to your strengths so well. common girldummy w

SECOND, and the part of this ask that i have been rereading and fawning over ever since it came in, i loveeeee that observation so much 😭 i definitely definitely agree, and i hadn’t specifically thought of it this way before but you’re so right! i think it’s partially because we ended up with chapters that each of us had come up with a key idea/central scene for, so it makes sense that they would slowly start to incorporate tropes that each one of us is partial to! there’s a chapter coming up that has andi written allllllll over it lol and not to spoil ch09 (thea’s baby, as we all know) but from start to finish it is the epitome of Thea Wiseatom fr. collaborating is super cool because between three people, there’s usually always a fresh perspective/new way to write something so that it doesn’t get repetitive like it might with just the singular author’s pov, and i’m giggling and twirling my hair thinking about how our styles have been distinct enough for you to notice! genuinely one of my favorite type of comments to get so thank you!!

kang doo and moon soo (just between lovers) - if there's one thing i love in my romance it's angst and hurt people learning to heal together and literally no one does it like them. kang doo remains my favourite junho role too, so.

kyeo rye and yeon joo (if you wish upon me) - similar to jbl tbh kyeo rye is such a broken man at the start of the drama and watching him slowly fall in love and heal from years and years of trauma destroyed all of my emotions.

gong myung and se ra (into the ring) - THE childhood friends to rivals to friends to lovers ship!!!!! no one does it like they do honestly they're THE standard when it comes to emotional maturity.

joong gil and ryeon (tomorrow) - listen if you were around last year then you know just insane they made me. soulmates defying literal fate to end up together after centuries of trauma they make me so sick.

cheoljong and so bong (queen cheorin) - THE standard for enemies to lovers. nothing has ever been able to replicate the buzz they gave me week to week.

seon gyeom and mi joo (run on) - the softest couple on this entire list actually i think. they're just so sweet and cozy and safe and i love them so much.

taejun and taeyang (love all play) - my babies!!!! the drama itself kinda sucks but theyyyyy. one of the most mature relationships i've ever seen in a drama actually like we love a couple that actively talk about their issues and try to overcome them together.

vincenzo and cha young (vincenzo) - enemies to coconspirators to lovers excellence honestly who is doing chemistry like them. they're just so sexy.

dong jin and woo joo (call it love) - hi hello it's another instance of two traumatised people falling in love and finding happiness together what can i say i have a TYPE.

dramas:

one spring night - i've already talked about why i love this drama so much so i won't do it again but just know. i love it so so much it's so important to ME.

just between lovers - another one i've talked about a lot at this point but outside of the romance, this drama is just so GOOD. it deals with a lot of heavy themes so i'd advise discretion but it's so worth it imo. but just 10/10 experience wish i could go back and watch it again for the first time.

if you wish upon me - i love it for a lot of the same reasons i love jbl they're very similar imo. also. kyeo rye is the most character of all time i genuinely don't think ji chang wook is ever topping him.

into the ring - underrated!!!! underrated!!!!!!!!! underrated!!!!!!!!!!!! y'all slept on this one so hard and i still haven't forgiven you. i love romance between two grown adults who actually act their age and don't fall victim to stupid tropes.

run on - this drama makes me feel so cozy and safe and fuzzy idk man it's just pure good vibes for my soul.

call it love - if you love dramas that are slow, where a lot is said with very little dialogue and where the colour grading tells you a lot about the characters emotional states then boy do i have the drama for you.

witch's romance - can i interest you in twinky park seo joon in love with uhm jung hwa??? bc that's what this drama has to offer and it's so fun. it might be a bit dated now bc it came out in 2014 but i had such a good time when i first watched it.

queen cheorin - aside from the last half of the last episode i had such a good fun time watching two absolute idiots fight tooth and nail against falling in love with each other. when are we ever getting that level of chemistry again???

moon embracing the sun - alright i'm gonna be honest i don't actually remember all that much of this one anymore. i only watched it because kim soo hyun's in it. but i watched it as it was airing and it emotionally destroyed me so that's gotta count for something.

first love hatsukoi - yeah yeah it's not korean it's japanese but it's also the best show i've watched in the last year so!!!!! y'all can just take my rec and live with it. please please PLEASE watch it it's one of the most beautiful dramas i've ever seen and all four of the main actors are absolutely incredible in it.

It always makes me so happy when I see someone sharing my opinions about not liking ROs getting together or with "NPCs" if not romanced! I HATE it. It's one of the tropes I hate the most in IF and visual novels. Of course, I have nothing against people who like it, cause tastes! But it makes me very uneasy unless it's something the player can actively influence. I'm fine with it if it happens only if the MC matchmakes actively, and wouldn't happen "passively" on a playthrough in which the MC doesn't push for it to happen.

If it's "mandatory" it stresses me out. I don't even think it's "jealousy" per se for me though! More like... Well most of the time when I play a game, I will ONLY have one single "canon playthrough", and that means I will only ever romance one of the ROs. Sometimes I'm truly interested in more than one, but I always struggle with forcing myself to romancing another one, since I feel like "betraying" the first RO and "cheating" on them. It feels pretty awful (and because of my canon playthrough thing, I can't make multiple MCs either, or I will feel like I'm "robbing my first MC out of their story"). In very rare instances I manage to force myself to romance more than one character, but the guilt is always strong. And well, if this cheating on the ROs makes me uneasy, the RO "cheating on the MC" too makes it 100 times worse. It both manages to strenghten my guilt, and also makes me feel uneasy in regard to that romance happening with the RO and another character.

Not only that, but there is another aspect - realism is not what I'm looking for when reading IF or VNs. I LIKE the fact the MC is actually the MAIN character, the one the story revolves around. I love how "special" the romances feel if well written, how "made for each other" the MC and their RO may feel. But if the RO can just end up with someone else on another path, and "bypass" all the struggle and highs and lows they went through with the MC and just be just as happy with someone else... well, it's disheartening, because suddenly the romance with the MC doesn't mean much anymore, and is in a way "inferior" to that other romance.

Anyway, sorry for the rant! Long story short, I'm happy you share my feelings!

The way I play IFs, I usually self-insert. Rare when so many use their own MCs, but I just like seeing my name used in the game LOL. I think I can understand if you feel like you are cheating on your first chosen RO if you go for another. But personally I do not get attached that way. What I do is save, see what the romance option is like, reload the old save and then continue playing. Or I use the back button if available.

I try not to get too attached to a character. That can be hard if the character is well-written. In A Tale of Crowns I could not imagine romancing anyone other than X. Although I tried A and also loved that route too. My heart was all in for X despite this. Don't feel like you're cheating! At the end of the day, IFs are games with insanely good writing and especially if it is a demo you can always replay again! Then again, if the demo is long it may feel like a chore to go back. I've certainly done demos where I wanted to try another route but didn't since that would mean I'd have to restart to the beginning.

I read arguments about how romancing an RO makes it feel special when MC and RO go through a journey of self-discovery. Arguably one of the best things about romance in a game, right? Everyone loves to see that. But for some, if a RO falls in love with someone else and appears to have no self-discovery like MC and them did in a romance route, then it is disheartening.

I don't think of it as disheartening or inferior. Maybe there is problems in the background that the MC does not know about. The RO appears happier with this someone else but there may be underlying problems. There is no such thing as a perfect, happy relationship. In fact, if the MC and RO go through struggles then it is the sign of a healthy relationship! Whatever is going on with the RO and that someone else--that "perfect" relationship will soon show its flaws. From there they would have to work it out.

-several "plot holes" or weird things pointed out in the intro are just... not plot holes. like aziraphale drawing. or the gabe statue payoff.

-"maggie does some weird things therefore she isn't real. look at these coffeeshop au lesbians! haha they're such a plot device that i'm going to say one of them is Made Up, just because of how strange and unusual i think they are"

i think "something's up with maggie" is an interesting theory. "she's entirely fictional" is inane. also i have words for people ignoring maggie+nina/discounting them as "tropes" or "lesbians to help the gay men get along" like actually they had their own story... yes they were plot devices but they were self aware plot devices same as some characters from s1

-the avoidance of alcohol is interesting, but could have many explanations.

i think my biggest reason for being suspicious of this is that good omens season 2 is a continuation of good omens 1, and good omens the book, and it is between season 1 and the season 2 that pratchett and gaiman planned out. if the neighbor of the beast was supposed to start with metatron going "aha! i have trapped you all in my secret time manipulation scheme, there is no escape!! muahahahaha" then i think the guy would have showed up in s2 more than just in the last episode, for the most part.

also, this hinges so heavily on what i call "bad on purpose" that it's kind of headache-inducing. one: from what i've seen of gaiman, he doesn't do that kind of thing. what an insane gamble to throw away potential ratings/s3 for a mind game that the doc author seems to think the vast majority of people simply wouldn't be able to comprehend/figure out for themselves, from the way they wrote the doc. two: sometimes things are just mediocre

but i have a specific vendetta towards bad "on purpose" or "the villain is good actually" or "the authors have this massive secret that you plebs don't get kind" of theory (i understand that these are not exactly similar and also, this is showing my inherent bias against the essay, but i feel it's better to acknowledge that bias). theories that go "actually it's completely different" feel, i need, either a load of solid evidence or a vibe where it's like "this is just a theory though, we're having fun!" i'm not super with tone but i don't think the theory has either.

i think theorizing is good and fun and a creative way to engage with fandom. i'm not a fan of this one. and now, after old man porch-ing about how you gotta take time before posting essays in the tags, i will post this essay i wrote in 30 mins with minimal revising. hit post goodbye

i want to roleplay with someone who can talk outside of our rp too. we could talk about our ocs, share playlists for them, things like that! i love talking about my characters and i would love to hear about your own. i have so many ocs, it's actually insane.

i would like my roleplay partner to be okay with roleplaying characters under the age of eighteen - for example, characters that are nine or ten, or characters that are eleven-sixteen. a lot of people seem to be uncomfortable with roleplaying characters that are younger than them, and that's completely understandable! but yeah anyway, young characters will not be included in romantic plots - at all. only platonic plots for them. i hope this doesn't seem like a weird ask - i'm just a very nostalgic person and i like revisiting my childhood a lot, haha.

i honestly don't mind how old the characters that we roleplay are though: they could be super old or middle aged. anything. i just want my partner to be open to anything.

i have a few ideas already but we don't have to do them:

• some friends enjoying a nice day/evening at a carnival (or a couple, could be either!)

• two childhood friends meet up together - the two drifted apart after going to different high schools and neither attempted to fix the situation instantly. one reached out and the other accepted their invitation to meet. we can talk more about this on discord!

• an old couple reminscing about their life together

• or some old friends reminscing about their younger years

• a grandmother/parent/older sibling teaching their grandchild/child/younger sibling how to bake (a cake or cookies or something)

• the common trope of a character being in love with their best friend (could be angsty, could be sweet)

i'm okay with angst too!!
