I hate how YouTube video essays always focus on the absolute worst parts of dnp and the phandom. Nobody ever talks about how much they trailblazed mainstream recognition for online content creators. Why are they always diminished to “omg their fans were such annoying weirdos lol” as if the phandom going to tatinof en masse wasn’t a big part of why YouTuber tours started to be taken more seriously. And another thing, why is everything so stupidly inconsistent? Why does Blackman insist on adding nonsensical plot points for the sake of convenience?

Let’s take the marigold for example. How exactly did they get it? I know the timelines were blending together or whatever, but that explanation is too vague and it doesn’t make sense. And why was the marigold wonky? Why didn’t it give them back their original powers? Am I missing something? Why was Allison suddenly able to not only mind control people, but blast them back?? Viktor’s powers have nothing to do with sound and energy anymore. Lila can shoot beams from her eyes but she can still mimic? Like what? And Klaus can float now, but it was used exactly….once. In the finale. And conveniently enough, Five was the only one who didn’t get a power upgrade, or the only one who couldn’t figure out his own powers (even though it’s not different at all and it’s literally still BLINKING) because they needed him to end up in some time travel subway that we don’t know who made or why it was made

There are no rules, no consistencies, no cohesiveness. Plot points are just thrown in for the sake of convenience, not because they actually make sense or work with the overall vision of the story

But I’m sick of romance scenes getting overridden by other night scenes.

My second playthrough when I romanced Karlach once I entered act 2 I beelined it to Dammon to fix her engine and was super excited for the night, only for Mizora to show up. Delaying my night with her by one night.

So this time, knowing Mizora shows up the first night of act 2, I didn’t talk to Dammon until the second day. I defended Isobel and saved Rolan and stuff like that day 1, camped, Mizora scene. Next day talked to Dammon first thing then went to Moonrise. That way I figured the story would flow better even though my story isn’t explicit.

Went to camp eager to get the night with Karlach…..only for Gale’s mirror image to tell me he wants a talk!

Like, come on, people who romance Karlach wait so long to finally be able to kiss her, then you get scenes overriding her.

Something always pissed me off about Greta, I never figured out what it was but now I have another reason to hate her fucking guts!

i never had a problem with her activism necessarily (some forms of protest are just dumb, like throwing soup on famous paintings, etc.) but she as a person has been put on a pedestal at such a young age and it was only a matter of time before she had a bad and/or harmful opinion. she’s literally a child and grown adults are looking to her for a voice of resistance. it makes no sense to me.

The more I think about it, the more irritated I become. Lewis was ridiculed, harassed for simply standing up for his human rights. Just for wanting to be treated like an equal, he endured so much. Without fail every race, Yuki is harshly criticised for being “too aggressive” whilst his white counterparts are praised for the same behaviour. It’s already bad enough knowing that people like Helmut Marko and Christian Horner are roaming freely around the paddock whilst maintaining massive positions of power and yet that level of bigotry wasn’t enough for Formula 1, they had to go and invite someone who is perhaps one of the greatest modern day symbols of racism, homophobia, misogyny, and xenophobia. And to not only invite him but to applaud him as if he is someone to be celebrated is such a slap to the face for female fans, for POC fans. This sport will never truly care about us.
