Day 40 of posting cute creatures we found on our field trip:

Eastern Montpelier snake (Malpolon insignitus) is the largest European venomous snake. It’s a rear fanged venomous colubrid whose venom is mild, but it can still cause a lot of problems. The venom causes swelling, itching and burning at the place where the snake bit you and it can also cause bad diarrhea. The people who have allergic reactions to the venom can end up developing anaphylaxis and need immediate medical attention. However, nobody has died from this snake’s bite. The venom’s effects wear off in a couple of days.

Overall, getting bitten by this snake is rare. They avoid people in general. However, if you try to catch this idiot it will bite you. This snake has the mentality of “attack is the best defense”, so if you catch it expect it to aggressively bite you and even jump at you. These fuckers are the only native snake I’m uncomfortable around. I feel safer even around vipers who have much stronger venom, but they almost never bite and even if they do they usually don’t release their venom in you (so called “dry bites”).

In Croatian and Serbian they are called “velveđa” which means “big eyebrows”. The ridges above the snake’s eyes look like angry thick eyebrows which just adds to the charm. Western Montpelier snake (Malpolon monspessulanum) is equally angry.

Hello smooches!! I can’t stop imagining and getting all giddy over the thought of dottore or one of the segments biting habits.

Like sometimes he likes to nip at readers ear or neck, or sometimes bite readers cheeks too. I recently learned that’s sharks bite things they are most curious about, so the thought of dottore randomly taking a small nibble into readers limb or lip just to learn and understand the feel or the plushness of readers skin is heheh. Of course he would never go too far to physically hurt his dearly beloved, but then again it would lead to some cases of scolding due to how many bite marks are scattered throughout readers body.

I don’t know if this is too much…🥲 but just wanted to get that silly thought out there. Goodnight😘

As much as Dottore loves to study you, he isn't alone - you love to study him as well, more specifically, his habits of biting you... it's a strange love language, but it's one you've grown to love very much. It's kind of funny because he didn't do it nearly as much in the Akademiya (perhaps because he feels comfortable enough with you now) so it takes a little while to get used to.

The segments' strategies for biting you also differ... the younger ones are a lot more eager with it, closing their sharp teeth around you without much thought. But the older ones are more patient, more teasing - they like to glide their sharp teeth along your skin, making you shiver, before they finally sink into you.

You've gotten bit in the most random places - spots on your thighs, tummy, fingers, etc, nothing is really off-limits when you're with Dottore. He wants to examine all parts of you (with his teeth.) It used to take you very off guard but now not much phases you. Of course, he'd never hurt you with his biting... well, too much. (Webttore has definitely drawn blood before I'm sorry.)

You've definitely scolded him and the segments for their chomping tendencies (which always seem to be directed to you - you're not their chew toy! ... alright, maybe you are, and you probably like it, but still! have some manners, Dottore!)

this is such a cute ask 🙈

Starting with the It Boy of this blog Jonah does have a little tummy. He's very lean and strong, even though he quit the team he still hits the gym regularly and he eats VERY healthily, so it's rare his tummy pokes out, but he does have a layer of fat there and it'll round out when he's bloated.

Leo - No tummy, he's fucking ripped. He's got those TV abs. Just like Jonah he still goes to the gym and he still eats fairly healthy. Unlike Jon who's more on the softer side, Leo does keep muscle fairly easily.

Bella - A little tummy. She's a bombshell, so most of her fat goes to thighs, ass, boobs, a bit on arms, but she does have a little tummy.

Lucas - He does have a tummy. It'll press against his hoodies and poke out his shirt a little if he lifts his arms and it's a nice combo of muscles and tummy and Bella adores it. It makes him comfy to lie on.

Wendy - She has more than a little tummy, she's chubby. Imagine a squishy toy and you got Wendy.

Vince - More than a little tummy, he's got a full on tum. I'm not sure if I'd put Vince as "fat", mostly because while he looks really big, he's basically all muscle. But he does have a gut and it's all soft when it's not bulking season, hard muscle during it.

Mila was extremely extremely gloomy on Monday (her tail was tucked between her legs, she barely barked when normally she barks all day, she wasn't following any of us around) & also yelped whenever we touched her left front leg which explained why she hadn't jumped on any of our beds OR the couch at all. & obviously we all got really worried & my sister took her to the vet this morning w/ help from her bf & the vet told them they couldn't find anything glaringly wrong w/ her, still they gave her a few vaccines & some prescription medicine ....

anyways my mom was trying to feed her the pill and really not succeeding cause Mila would start chewing it or just spit it out & I told her to just let me try (which she was adverse to cause I mostly annoy Mila or play w/ her so she probably sees me as another dog rather than yknow. a Human that she listens to) so she did and it took me a little bit of work to open her snout but as soon as I did I just put what was left of the pill on the back of her gums, pushed it a little bit & held her snout shut immediately and then we heard a loud gulp like YAAAAY!!!!!!

Oh he had been waiting for that. He just let her push him. There was even a sense of happiness since she finally had decided to break that tension that had started to build up since the day he had joined her community. He was tired due to the day of work, but he didn't mind. It was always by that time of the day, by sunset, that Vega would show up by his house- each time she had a different "excuse" to visit. And he appreciated every single time, no matter the subject. By talking to Fox since days before, he knew Vega had these affection outbursts, sometimes even without proper context- but he didn't shake at her tackle. He enjoyed it- he secretly liked her roughness and strength- she was a warrior above all else. Rick stared her, almost challenging, excited to feel her pressure, her body against his, wondering what else she was going to do. He already could feel anticipation building up, his heart rate firing, oh he wanted her, he wanted her so bad, since quite some time. Rick wouldn't shake in front of her, no. He was a leader too, by heart- he had his own pride to defend. The sheriff let her pressure his chest, and whatever part she wanted to, feeling her hands on him in that context, she had no idea how much touch starved he was-

Speaking of bat stories, I was riding my bike home from work one day at 11pm. I drive under this big ol tree and something- I thought it was a bird- swoops down from the tree and I hit it with the front of my bike before I could stop. So I’m startled, I break and look over to see a little bat clinging to the wire basket of my bike. He’s just hanging there for a solid two minutes and I’m staring at him and he’s staring at me, probably with a concussion or something. I didn’t even know what to do because you aren’t supposed to touch bats but I didn’t want to keep driving when he was still there but he wouldn’t leave! Finally though he ends our staring contest and flies away. I’m like what the heck, did that just really happen, still staring at the spot on my bike where he was when all of a sudden I hear a voice ask,”was that a bat??” And I look over and there’s a guy!! He’s just sitting on this park bench at 11pm doing I don’t know what and happened to witness that whole thing. I’m still a bit shocked but I go “yeah” and then continue my ride home. And that’s why you shouldn’t ride your bike alone at night.
