Wait if Hels is an infinite world, does that mean that in theory someone could've just hightailed it and is just chilling with a bunch of villagers and really op stuff that you can't get anywhere near people like 90000000+ blocks out?
Honestly kinda love the idea that there's someone out there that's basically living in a normal world if you ignore the fact that the nether and overworld are combined. When would this ever show up in the au? Literally never. Does that make it any less hilarious to think of in theory? Absolutely not
there are absolutely little hermit (hah) hels players living off on their lonesome, enjoying a tranquil life. but the vast majority of them stay within the few hundred-thousand blocks surrounding spawn to live a life of violence and chaos and shenanigans bc that’s what a lot of them crave.

yall these mcsm oc ideas are overwhelmingggg
legend tells of a most precious and delicious item: the enchanted golden apple. the only of its kind, it is told to grow on a lone tree far atop the farlands, overlooking the entire world
and [insert name idk yet] intends to try it; just one bite. they've been adventuring for years, exploring the ins and outs of the far lands, mapping the very edges of the world, dodging death too many times to count. all so that they can take it home and share a slice with each of their friends.
one day, after jesse's adventures have long finished, xara confronts romeo: "without admin power to keep the world alive, it's supposed to fall apart. how are we all still alive?"
he just grins coyly and hints, "yes, i left quite the golden delicious safeguard for that!"
one day, when the world least expects it, a new group of admins ascend.

Road To Ruin Anon again. You said there were themes to your Potter Twins' names - what themes?
Hi, yes! Sorry this took me forever to get to, but here we go!
The Post Anon Is Referring To // The First Slideshow Post
Okay so, in chronological order - I'm not putting the slides on again bc they make everything so long;
CHARLIE! Charlie/Charles/Charlus is... not that deep. We can give it all the in-story explanations we want, but the fact of the matter is that I was writing a Farland Files fanfic love letter and I just reused the name. I assume that Purplemango picked it either because they liked it, there's canonically a Charlus Potter he can be named after, and/or as Charles it follows the convention of Potter-Names-Mirror-English-Royalty, but I haven't ever worked up the courage to ask them. Probably never will.
SORREL! Okay so I'm mostly sure that Sorrel showed up in a googled list of Indian names, and it won my personal aesthetic contest - I know his middle name did, I don't remember WHAT his middle name WAS, but it means blue; Sorrel means red, and the Potter could refer to brown and I personally found that clever.
Having said all of this, when I just googled the name to double check, I found out that Sorrel is ALSO term for a plant, spinach dock is also known as common or garden Sorrel. I'm very sure that part isn't on purpose, but the Cobra Lily (Charlie) and Hyacinth/Hydrangea (Sorrel) aus are largely built on me hoarding as many plant names as I feel comfortable with and making them plot points so- *fingerguns* -it works out!
Moving on, I already mentioned the story behind CONNOR! The au was getting to the point I needed names to visualize, I couldn't choose, so I handed my phone and the googled list (no clue what I googled, that was three years and like 9 this-au-has-developed-into-a-whole-new-au-s ago) to my little sister. She said Connor. I said okay.
Honestly, either Sorrel or Connor is my favorite twin. They've just got shiny personalities. It's a close competition tho
TRISTAN! yeah yeah, his spelling is still being decided, chill, it doesn't matter until I start posting the au. I wish I could say something clever but I haven't even checked what Tristain means, unlike the others. I think. Actually, have I ever looked up what Connor means?
moment of silence while I do that brb
Back! Connor means Lover Of Hounds and I- wheezes I cannot. This is Hilarious. Unreasonably so. Little Ruler and his baby brother, Lover Of Hounds.
This tangent added like five minutes to this post and I have NO REGRETS
It also looks like a Gaelic name, which means there's a chance the list I gave to my sis was those, bc I do and will advocate for Irish Lily Potter at any and all given opportunities. If that wasn't what I was thinking it SURE IS NOW
Anyway, back to Tristan; I looked him up after I finished my Connor tangent, and I have once again been blessed in writing because the name could not be more perfect for the au if I tried.
"In Arthurian legend, Tristan (sometimes called Tristram) was a Knight of the Round Table and the tragic hero of the medieval tale "Tristan and Isolde". The tale has been retold in many poems and operas. This ancient name may derive from a Pictish original, Drostan, but the form was probably influenced by the French term "triste", meaning "sad". The name is popular in Spain." (source linked)
Gosh I WISH that was why I picked the name, the actual story is so much less cool; I wrote the outline leaving a T in place of the name the whole time (bc I kept trying to use Sorrel but NO I wanted it to be a NEW AU) and I know a guy named Tristan so it made sense to just. expand on the T.
WILLIAM: Will's name was given to me by the same person who helped make the Obscurial Au (Will's au) playlist, and I have no clue what their tumblr handle is but their Ao3 is Lonelyroads. I complained about how I couldn't find twin names that weren't either taken or have Negatory Vibes, and Lonely offered up Will, which follows the aforementioned Potter's-Named-After-English-Royalty tend/convention and looks good with Harry and has good nickname opportunities.
So yeah! That's all of them - there's no overarching trend but they each have their stories.

Farlander Enderman are 11-15 feet tall Endermen that live all the way out in the Farlands. Lone wolves, their territory covers a 10k block range, and one will most likely only ever see one in their entire life if they even make it out there. Or at least they will see a glimpse before they turn completely invisible. Hope you brought a water bucket!

Top 5 of ur favourite like, minecraft worldbuilding headcanons?
i've been thinking of how to answer this ask for like. way too long. so instead of a top 5 im gonna give you a "first five that come to mind in no particular order." bear in mind for most of these, the MAIN headcanon i base everything on is "imagine ALL worlds and servers are interconnected, so basic minecraft lore and server-specific multiplayer lore are assumed to intersect in some way"
-chat can manifest in different ways for different people AND depending on the server. some servers (aka pocket dimensions that operate on their own rules based on the admin [sorta like a god of the world] who runs the place) will have anything from carrier pigeons or animals that appear before the person to full-on comms devices and electronics. the default is like a holo screen that appears in front of you when summoned. summoning methods vary from player to player and can be done hands-free. talking in chat can be literally talking, typing, or whatever the user can come up with (within the limits of their world), so the main limiting factor is the player's own imagination
-READ THIS POST READ IT READ IT READ IT if i had to pick a number 1 it would be this. reading this changed the entire trajectory of my life, i've never been normal about hypixel since this post KJFHDSG
-the farlands are an area that is out of control of any player, admin, or higher being or any sort. the void is another untouchable zone that cannot be altered. players who are damaged by either the farlands or the void may carry those effects through various dimensions and lifetimes, but they can fade away. it's unlikely tho, and they could show themselves again even after they disappear. it's up to server owners to keep their players as safe as possible. obviously players get thrown into the void a lot, but taking Real Damage from the void is different. server damage and real damage operate in different ways IF the admins choose to set up their dimensions as if they were a game, which many do. sometimes there are mishaps tho :]
-a personal favorite headcanon of mine that ignores some real physics and also some parts of the game itself: the nether just exists below bedrock! so the nether ceiling is the overworld bedrock. if you listen for long enough you might be able to hear the other dimension through the layer of bedrock. the nether is essentially the core of this weird infinite earth... so what's the void? where exactly is it? good question! maybe it's never supposed to be there at all. maybe this world is barely connected to itself, falling apart at the seams and contradicting itself, trying to fix itself only to leave chunk errors in the way where there used to be other problems. you were never supposed to be able to see the void, it SHOULD only be in the end, because the end is void, but sometimes the overworld is void and sometimes you go above the bedrock in the nether and that's void too but you aren't being hurt either like you would in the other dimensions-
-this is the only singleplayer-specific headcanon here: most structures have legends or stories about why they were built and who built them. talk to any villagers (or maybe even pillagers and witches, piglins if you can understand them, etc) and they'll tell you what they believe about desert temples, ocean monuments, whatever is nearby. but no mobs of any kind are aware of the stronghold. they know that endermen exist and most of them know about pearls and how to use them, but they dont know anything about endermen themselves. ONLY players and the endermen know about the end, and even then some endermen have only ever lived in the nether or the overworld. not every enderman is actually FROM the end. it can make you feel very alone if you never interact with other players by crossing dimensions into servers or linking up to another lonely player and inviting them to your own world

I have amassed another collection of Techno-centric fic recs! All complete, 1k+ words, <5k hits, you know the drill. I'll give you rating, warnings, character groups, and word count, and then I'll release you to go make the author's day with some kudos and comments!
As always, check the work tags before reading! And without further ado:
cold hand in mine by Cardinalnorth
T || No Warnings Apply || Emduo || 15k
Phil nearly dies, or so Techno thinks until Phil shares the truth about his immortality. I love this fic because it has the adrenaline, the big life-changing reveal... but then it has another 8k words showing how they begin to navigate their new normal, which is so rare to see. Featuring touch-starved Techno, stunning prose, and a very nuanced take on trust.
to the ends of the earth by h_mellohi
No Rating || No Warnings Apply || Emduo || 4.5k
Techno seeks to be the first recorded adventurer to reach the Farlands, but he makes an unexpected discovery when he gets there. Sort of meditative, lonely vibes, especially in the beginning when Techno is very blasé about the risk he’s taking, and the second half turns into some neat worldbuilding and some very soft relationship dynamics.
Scattering sparks of thought energy by spicysnakebite
T || No Warnings Apply || Reaper Trio || 1.5k
Techno meets Kristin for the first time when she possesses Phil’s body on her "vacation". The slow build-up to Techno’s realization that this isn’t Phil is simultaneously heart-warming and eerie, which is exactly how I think Kristin should be portrayed <3. Plus, it has a nice little emerald duo reunion at the end. Warm and spooky and good.
there is also opportunity by Sexytrash
T || No Warnings Apply || Non-trad SBI || 6.5k
After years as the main attraction in an alien fighting arena, Techno is rescued by three strangers who actually make the effort to communicate with him. Space Orcs trope my beloved. This portrayal of Techno strikes a good balance between humor, competence, and trauma, plus some emotional vulnerability at the end. First work in a great series.
28 Days of Delirium by AuricAxis
G || No Warnings Apply || Emduo || 16k
When Techno gets lost in the End, he stumbles across Phil who has been lost there for much longer. Together, they try to figure out an escape. Cosmic horror vibes– something is subtly Off about Phil, and Techno has quite an encounter in a later scene– but this fic also has some really great hurt/comfort and friendship building. Also Ian Bealio is there LOL
That's all for now! Happy reading <3

Not Meant To Be
Tumblr media
Word Count: 2,107
Pairing(s): Anthony Bridgerton x reader, Simon Basset x reader
Summary: The Bridgerton family and the Duke have been invited to a picnic that was planned by yours truly. Tensions begin to grow, and things don’t go quite as you hoped they would.
TW: none
Part 2/6
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙
Today’s weather of sunshine and blue skies called for a picnic. I gave clear instructions to Cook that he should prepare a delicious meal and treats, including Simon’s favorite of gooseberry pie. I would never forget something so important about him because it always came in handy.
I then go to find our butler, Charles, and say, “Please send invitations to the Bridgertons and the Duke of Hastings, Charles. There will be a picnic at the park, and do tell them that it will be late at 1pm.” He bows in response, and repeated my words before he left to complete his tasks.
With a nod of satisfaction, I left the main floor then up the stairwell to change my attire. What I was currently wearing fell short of today’s planned event, and I needed to win Simon back. Once inside my bedroom, I closed the door and quickly strode to the wardrobe to see my options.
My thoughts roamed to the man who promised that we would spend the rest of our lives together, which made my blood boil with rage. Men these days were either too dense or too arrogant or had little backbone. Simon was a mixture of having a huge ego and vulnerable when he opens up to the people that know his true personality.
None of this was my fault whatsoever. I left for only a mere three months to study abroad in France, then I return to the ‘wonderful’ news of his engagement to a girl named Daphne Bridgerton. A trip to London hadn’t been something I expected for myself, but I came to the city for him and no other reason.
In truth, Simon technically was still my fiancé, although I knew there was an explanation for everything that took place while I was absent. As a matter of fact, he brushed off the situation like it was a speck of dust that ruined his perfect image to the desperate mamas and equally egotistical lords.
“Good heavens, I’m going to get wrinkles if I keep thinking about the “what-ifs” and not do anything to change them.” I huff in exasperation at my own foolishness, a bit disappointed in myself for having such thoughts when the damage had yet to be done.
After endless decision-making, I chose to wear a yellow dress with a simple pink floral design from the sleeves to the hem of its skirt, and I twirl in front of the mirror with a bright smile. It wasn’t a ball gown, but this would surely make Simon realize that he wants me more than anyone in all of Grovensor Square. It just had to.
I had to admit, the dress itself was too revealing for a lady of my status. Well, at least it would be just myself, Simon, and the Bridgertons alone for a picnic. A reminder to cover my legs repeated itself over and over in my mind, yet I had a feeling that I would catch the attention of everyone’s eyes anyway.
The clock rang the second its big small hand reached 12pm, which meant there was an hour left for preparations and riding to the park. “Marianne! Please call for the carriage, and tell chef to hurry!” I shouted into the air, and I heard Marianne reply from down the hall. Perhaps I was rushing for punctuality-sake, but a host or hostess must never arrive later than their guests.
It was a good thing that mama had long left for tea at Lady Farland’s estate, and papa was probably gambling at the gentlemen’s club again. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he came home with news that he either won lost of money or lost a majority of what he gambled. No one could tell me that the picnic was meant to open Simon’s eyes and see just me in them rather than that so-called “flawless” Bridgerton girl.
Nonetheless, I had to get going before they gossiped of my tardiness if I wasn’t already at the location. Time seemed to blur from when I scurried down the stairs to gather everything I needed to when I got into the carriage and made it safely to the park. The next thing I knew, I was trying my best not to laugh at a discreetly explicit joke Benedict had shared amongst ourselves.
Anthony looked like he was going to strangle his brother or maybe he was going to give him a pat on the shoulder? I couldn’t tell because I was too preoccupied with devouring my favorite sandwich while I brushed my shoulder against Simon’s. Of course this got his attention, and he whispered into my ear, “Now is not the time nor place to play, y/n. Behave yourself.”
His warning provoked something inside of me, but there were too many people who would witness the indecency behind my innocent act. “My apologies, your Grace. I’ll be a good girl for you.” I whispered in reply, then continued to enjoy my delicious sandwich as though I did nothing wrong in the first place.
I knew what I was doing to him, and he liked it. He knew what would happen if I went further, and I was fanning the flames with fervor. “Is Daphne aware of our relationship? Sorry, I meant, what it was supposed to become? You know, such as getting married? Living together and in the country?”
Simon’s jaw clenched just like when he used to have me underneath him, calling his name and coming undone by his touch as I squeezed tighter around him. Those nights were by far the best I had ever experienced, and he treated me with such tenderness after we were spent.
“Don’t you remember the great times we had, love? Everything fell apart when I came to London and found you dancing with the red-headed girl in the moonlight.” I scowled under my breath, then I slowly calmed myself down before I could ruin this lovely picnic with a beautiful family and my old lover.
I needed a moment alone, so I stood up and sheepishly excused myself from the blanket before walking away. It was almost as though the night I found myself standing at the lake was repeating itself again, but this time, I knew where I was going and no tears would shed. No, this time was different than last. Instead of crying because I couldn’t control some situations, I chose to think about I would take back Simon for myself.
Seeing Simon chuckle and comment on every little thing Daphne said created small cracks on my heart. I couldn’t think of when he used to do that with me, and I close my eyes to forget all of the recently bad memories. Heavy footsteps approached from behind, but I was too distracted by the wrong Simon had done to me.
“Y/n, are you alright? You left so suddenly, and everyone is worried about you.” Anthony softly called out to me, his hand resting on my shoulder to turn me around and see the miserable state I was in. “I’ll be better, my lord. There’s no need to waste your worry on me.” I mustered a fake smile to dissipate his concern for me, but apparently he had dealt with heartbroken maidens before.
The Viscount gently pulled me into his arms, and rocked our bodies back and forth. I was speechless for I had no idea what he was doing, and yet I didn’t want him to stop. It felt pleasant to be comforted by a warm embrace that held a promise of always being there when it was most needed in times of anguish.
“You are a strong woman, y/n. You don’t need to act as though nothing can break through your walls. You’re still human, and that’s okay. Believe me, I know what it’s like to feel helpless.” He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear, and smiled when I pulled away to stare at him with wide eyes. I always knew what kind of man he was, but the side of him that I admired truly was a rare sight to behold.
What felt like an eternity of comfortable silence was interrupted by Eloise who came searching for her brother and I after he had been gone for too long. “Mama won’t stop spouting nonsense that you’ve gotten lost, brother. We had to stop her from creating a search party.” She snickered at the fresh memory, and it stopped when she realized that Anthony was hugging me unusually close to his chest.
I caught on and quickly pushed myself away, then I fixed my dress before thanking her. “Thank you for taking the responsibility, Eloise. You’ve found us alright, and I believe we best return to your family.” Anthony cleared his throat, a big embarrassed that the particular sister of his had seen something she would never let go.
“Yes, Miss Denbow is right. Let’s return before mother actually gathers a search party for three people.” He leads the way, and I smile awkwardly at Eloise as I walk past her. I then let out a breath I didn’t know I had been holding in since she found Anthony and I, but I hoped that she wouldn’t mention it when we got back to the picnic.
Once there, Lady Bridgerton literally shed tears of joy as soon as she saw my face and brought me into a hug. What was with the Bridgertons and hugging? I could see Simon lean over to Anthony, his mouth forming the words, “Thank you for bringing her back safely.” Anthony nodded in reply, then sat down in between Colin and Benedict before he grabbed his glass of wine to take quite a long sip.
Well, it was back to where I started. I didn’t want to ask questions and make matters worse, but I knew that the current engagement wasn’t going to last for long. According to Lady Whistledown, Queen Charlotte was not convinced of the proclaimed love that everyone said Simon and Daphne shared.
I had to say it. Otherwise, I would lose the love of my life to a woman who gained Her Majesty’s favor, and I would be lonely until the day I die. “The Duke and I were once lovers, but now he’s going to marry Miss Bridgerton.” Complete and utter silence. I take in a deep breath before I continue.
“I had traveled to France for three months, and the Duke asked me to come see him here, in London. I truly thought that he was going to marry me, but I was proven wrong and a fool. He’s pretending as though we didn’t have a beautiful relationship before he chose to help her and she him.”
Lady Bridgerton was the first to break, and she began to stumble over her words while overcoming the insurmountable shock that I gave to everyone. Eloise tried what she could to stop herself from laughing, Benedict smacked her arm while he was struggling to do the same.
Colin couldn’t find the right words, and Anthony spat out his wine. Except for the two youngest children who were playing in a flower field, we adults all sat together with no help to describe what our mixed emotions were. “What is the matter with you, y/n? Did you even think this through before you babbled on about the past? If I had known that you were so childish, I would’ve left you a long time ago.”
Simon glared cold daggers in my direction, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. The man who I loved was now a stranger with a much better woman than I, so there was nothing I could do now to take him back. “You’re right, Simon. I’m such a child, and I don’t know any better than to tell the truth when living a lie is all the more tempting.”
I gave my deepest apologies to Lady Bridgerton, promising her that I would make up for my demeanor with tea and a visit to the spa one day. I then said my farewells to the Bridgertons, but I didn’t spare the slightest of glances to Simon who looked like he was going to let out a fury of anger.
It served him right for playing with my heart, and if he was so play a part not meant for him that would end in heartbreak, then so be it. I knew someone who could help me make him regret losing me, and they were a professional when it came to such lengths.
Just you wait, Simon Basset. Just you wait.

A Field of Flowers and Thorns - Part 2
Copyright© @russieraholic. Do not repost.
Read Part 1 here.
Writing theft is art theft!
My only way of keeping track of time was the phases of the moon. Without direction, or a known purpose yet, my journey across the lands were often unguided and served no other purpose than to fulfill and entertain myself, indulging in the rich landscapes. Or maybe it was because I did not really feel at home anywhere. Something kept me going- and it took a handful of centuries to realize it was my loneliness that drove my wandering.
That was temporarily solved when I met a beautiful, large silver mare in a field. Our bond was instantaneous- our connection felt deep in that we were both searching for someone to hold dear to our hearts. I named her Avalanche, inspired by the cold mountains that my journey started from, and from there that same journey continued.
Yet, even with the addition of a beloved companion, the loneliness in my heart raged on- I decided to travel to the farlands and consult a well-renowned guru to find out if they knew who I was or what my purpose was.
They told me I was a goddess- one that harnessed the element of ice and the beast form of a cobra. I was very skeptical at first, but, they followed up with my purpose- I was to watch over a tribe in the desert in a distant land called Hyrule. In return I would be given the gift of filling the lonely void in my heart.
Hearing this, I gave the prophet the benefit of the doubt, mounted my trusty mare, and we set off to this promised land.

[FN] The lost prince and his bodyguard
"Sleep is unbeknownst to me, has been for awhile." The warrior thought to himself. Kyoto takes up the giant blade named Kison and points it at the sky. Cloudy, yet rays of warm light pour in through the distant curtains of rain. The young man sits up dusting off the pollen from his leather armor. He reattaches the white cloak he wears around his shoulders and down the last of what is in his waterskin. Kyoto rubs his eyes clean picking an apple from the tree he slept beneath and walks towards Milo road.
"Hmmm...if im this close to the orchard i must be but two days from Shinewell. I better get going the prince will be waiting for me." He puts his map away and breaks into a jog.
"Master Cleo we must think about your decision! Taking the Warp scrolls to the library of Durin is mad! Your too young for a journey without escourt, as well as your request to let some mercenary take you there is perposterous!" The old councilman pleaded with the young boy beside him as they walked the halls of Castle Shinewell.
"Master Cl.."
"Councilman Syris i head your warning and i hear your plea but my decision is final! The mercenary is a friend. Very trustworthy and more suitable than any guard you could provide!" The small blonde haired prince brushed hair from his blue eyes and scrunched his nose.
"Who is this mercenary anyway master Cleo?"
The prince with a sharp grin spoke slowly so the old man could hear correctly "The Ghost-Touched swordsman."
In a burst of outrage Syris twice cleos elder and twice his stature blurted out "you mean the Cursed swordsman the one without eyes!?"
"He can see twice as much as any seer and fight the Drakes of Kings Mountain. His weapon unbreakable and his skill unmatched when it comes to fighting beasts and bandits." Cleo warmly smiled and walked away from Syris.
Syris boiled heading streight to the council hall. He had words to share with his fellow makers.
Kyoto crested a hill overlooking the massive walls of the outter city. His home is here though he finds more comfort on the lonely roads. His friends a young wizard and a noble his only companions. Kyoto's eyes shrouded in a fog revealed to him the path safest to the city, yet before him not two hundred yards was a bandit ambush laying in wait for an oncoming merchant.
"My eyes tire me but i will not let this happen".
Kyoto sprints toward the merchant waving his arms like a lunatic "stop!". The merchant a small gnome shifted his glasses on his wrinkled face. "My boy your appearance is startling to say the least why stop me here? Do you need a ride?" The merchant motioned for the warrior to sit next to him on his driving bench. The mares winnied as the merchant snapped the reins.
"do you mind if i ask what is in the cart?"
The gnome looked at the warriors stark white hair and massive sword hanging from his shoulders "if you mean to rob me i only have feed for the lords horses".
"I do not mean to rob you but to warn you. Ahead in a thicket of bramble bushes lay ten or so men waiting to rob this very cart." The gnome looked startled but cocked his head to hear more. Kyoto continued "i posess enough skill to stop the attack. I only ask one thing in compenstation". The gnome worriedly looked at his miniscule coin bag. "That you spread the word that the ghost of shinewell seeks knowlege of the veil. Can you do that for me?" The small man nodded quizicly looking puzzeled by the title the man before him gave. As they approached the overgrown path a man stumbles out holding a wound on his stomach.
"Please...there are b b beasts in the hills. Can you spare me a ride to the great city?"
Kyoto scoffed "tell the other nine to show themselves!"
The man dressed in rags slowly produced a dagger from behind his belt "alright men this one saw us through. Now we will run em through. Sack the cart!"
Cleo hastily packed a travel bag as well as paid off a stablemaster to get him a descreet carriage to house himself. The trip to Durin would be long but no doubt in his mind did he pick a better companion than Kio.
"Uhmm" a small feminen voice cleared their throat. "Master cleo i do belive you are a danger to many by possessing the void scrolls or at least a piece. The council made it seem like you had all seven in your hands."
"You spied mrs. Luna?" Cleo turned to face the skyblue robbed girl. She has long black hair and piercing green eyes. Her nails dipped in an oily liquid only to better produce a current. She enters cleos room and closes the double doors then electricfying the handles.
"There isnt much time and the sage warned of troubles ahead. I took it upon myself to decide...im joining you master cleo" she removes the pointed wide brimmed hat she wears and bows before the prince.
"Jay luna the mage of clouds. Impressive what youve done at our age."
Jay giggles pulling back hair from her pointed ears "our age? I am 200 years old but i guess that is equivalent to yours at 16".
"So what of the council?"
Jay sighs "they mean to stop you peacefully if possible but syris' plans are more sinister i belive. No matter the guards you bring will suffice especially if they are the wardens?" She waves her hand in a motion to get cleo to speak.
"I have but one guard cloud mage. I have The ghost of shinewell. The veil walker. The spirit touched swordsman. Kyoto Amory."
Jay raised her brows in intrest. "Heard he was quite violent and unruly in the farlands".
"Thats the farlands. Filled with beasts and murderers!".
"Isnt he too a murderer".
"A warrior not a murderer. And one that possess unqiue powers only few have ever lived to see."
Fifteen men burst from the undergrowth rushing the cart from all sides. Kyoto in a quick motion pulls himself and the gnome up onto the roof of the cart. "Stay here" the warrior ordered unshouldering Kison, his blade. A few of the bandits all different races wielding many weapon types surrounded the cart. Blackened veins raised to the surface around kyotos eyes as they fogged over. He could now see their heartbeats, every little twitch of motion, and if any had aquired magic abilitys. Doing even this quick scan of the men tired the warrior greatly, but it had to be done. One man an orc stood far away from the cart whispering to himself and twitching his fingers in hand signs.
"He is casting a long spell fire based" kyoto observed. Kyoto grinned. Maybe a challenge awaited.
Bandits loaded crossbows and aimed to down the defender and merchant. Six bolts screamed through the air and in one swift twirl kyoto deflected the bolts with his sword. The others rushed to climb up the cart. The gnome desperatly kicks at the mens hands. Two men reach the top as kyoto closes his eyes. In silence, peace of mind kyoto bends his kness and slides around full swing cleaving the two bandits in half. He then jumps on top of a falling torso to the men below. The men back up but then rush hapazardly swinging blades and hammers at the ghost.
Six heart beats. Three upward motion. Two downward motion. One diagnal motion.
using the power of his eyes kyoto deflect the first three blows then pushes energy through himself and blasting them backward thirty paces. The next two swings are caught on the swordsman' blade. With a push down and slice across two fall to the warrior. The last kyoto just leans back letting the blade wash past him. He grips the mans face with one hand and rips his eyesight reducing stress on his own eyes. The bandit screams in pain as his own eyes now share the blindness of kyotos. The three before begin to pick themselves up. The ghost sensing danger turns and rips the gnome from the roof of the cart by his foot as a cone of flame engulfs the cart and the mares.
"Are you not done yet!" Kyoto screams out in a two toned voice.
The orc leader grins his tusks caked in dried food "i do think i have the upper hand. Orc mage stronger than puny human warrior with...uhh..with magic items!".
Stupid orc
Kyoto places the gnome on his shoulders. "They intend to kill us or slave us. The cart wasnt their goal". The gnome holds on tight closing his tearing eyes shut.
Four bandits approach from behind as well as three more from the front.
Damn it.
kyoto again flashes his eyes but this time phases out of exsistance and stepping out of the swings of the bandits weapons. The world flashes greys and blacks. Returning to the world with a bloody nose and bleeding eyes kyoto slams his sword into the ground and grips forward. Contorting the bandits bodies violently but breifly. He damages them enough to cripple but not enough power left to kill. The ghosts eye sight diminishes leaving him with the view of the world in blackness. His body heaving up and down in exhaustion the gnome taps his shoulder "mr. Theres more bandits more bandits!" Kyoto focuses on the samantic chanting of a spell coming from the orcs lips. In darkness he lets his hearing do the next part. Swing after swing kyoto ducks, sidesteps, and rolls dogging the attacks. When the final word of the spell releases the warmth of the flame signals kyoto to phase backwards into it a mere fifty steps.
The flame burns the remaining bandits to ash as kyoto appears behind the orc mage with his hand to his face and one inside his chest.
"Kesh tin ver kel eye!"
Kyoto rips the orcs eyesight and strips him of his magical core. The orcs cavity gushes blood as the core is removed.
Kyoto stares at his bloody hand intill his eyesight returns. Laying in his hand a small flame spirit in the shape of a snake dances a circle charring the leather of his glove.
"Go now my friend. Why you bonded to such a beast i will not know for you are to young to answer. But you are chaotic and must be free from the sins of man" kyotos voice splits in two as he bids farewell releasing the spirit into a small hole in the veil.
