too excited to NOT post this, check out the wips from stream!!!! a big chunk of it was making myself a little ref and figuring out how i wanted to draw him, and getting his colors and gradients down. it ironically took me MUCH LESS TIME to work on the mischievous guy beckoning you towards the water ;)

my recently cynonari obsessed brain: What if Cyno can safely handle 2 ba fragments of Hermanubis as an adult due to being companions/ having prolonged exposure to Tighnari, and Hermanubis recognized that closeness? (Tighnari being a descendant as well)

Cyno handled the 2nd ba fragment a bit too well for my angst-loving brain...

Stede was taught that since he's rich, instead of love he has money, love and softness are for poor people and that's why he pays the crew regularly he wants them to love him and he wants to show his love.

Which translates to he is nothing without money, the money runs things inside of him and he will keep going as long as he has money. With money he can be someone, without money he is a nobody.

Ed was taught love and softness is a nice thing that rich upper class people get, not him and his mom. They just have to live this hard life and work hard.

So Ed worked hard (is this all there is to life?? he asks himself) and then he became the best at what he does. what's next? he didn't know what to do so stede told him "retire" literally just stop working hard for love you don't have to.

but once Ed stops working, it's like stede not having money, he is nothing again he's worthless to anyone really if there's no love or money or work in his life it's a pretty bad life ((i think he was confused why stede isnt making moves on him maybe since ed was flirting a lot and stede wasnt getting it)). maybe he should go back to work that's the only thing he knows since stede doesn't like him.

Stede didn't know what he was feeling he only knew he felt happy with Ed around, he couldn't pay Ed, couldn't use money to get Ed to stay. Ed was completely free to do what he likes! So stede starts panicking, giving him sweet treats, entertain him (spending 'more money than lucius has ever seen' just to get ed to stay means he loves ed a lot)

and he 'fails' there's simply no way to keep ed with him!! (aww)
