I'm not ready to shut up about Aveline and Carver--so, when you go see Aveline in Act 1, you can catch up with her a little bit and that's where this conversation can happen:

Aveline: "It's just one more change, though. The real end for me was Ostagar. What about you, Carver? You were there. Do you feel something similar?" Carver: No. Aveline: All right, then. Bit of a tit, your brother.

I wanted to see what she would say if Carver isn't in the party. Instead, she says this:

Aveline: Carver was there. I imagine he feels something similar. If he allows it.

I certainly have my own concerns about the treatment of moo deng but um. well i think some of you may just be racist

#this ^ isn't directed at any post in particular but instead a lot of comments ive seen. but now im gonna talk about other posts down here #and prefacing anything i put in the tags here with DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH #but the biggest post ive seen going around rn about moo deng being mistreated and the general quality of khao kheow zoo is questionable #claims that the enclosure is mostly concrete seem to be false from all the sources i can find #the concrete section looks like its specifically around the feeding area which fits zoo care guidelines which specify that the feeding area #be a surface that can be easily cleaned separate from the substrate and is a surface present in other zoos #the lack of deep water also seems to be purposeful? older videos of the same enclosure show deeper water areas #and looking back through the news every baby pygmy hippo announcement from every zoo i could find mentioned periods where the baby had to #learn to swim and was slowly introduced from shallow water to deeper water as time passed #this was also corroborated by fowlers zoo and wild animal medicine volume 8 which suggests keeping the mother dry and then slowly #introducing water as the baby grows as a potential best practice #damn im treating this like a paper now. anyway the negatives #there are absolutely things that strike me as bad eg. public access to the hippos and the way the keeper interacts with them #for the keeper stuff in particular i'd really like to see input from someone who has experience as a zookeeper with pygmy hippos #the public access is something that i def think the zoo could improve on and even older footage from years ago shows people sticking like #selfie sticks and shit off the side of the railings and right into the hippos faces #however again the zoo seems to be making efforts to curb visitor behavior which is tough when you go from having 800 visitors a day to #4000+ and you can't remodel the whole exhibit right then and there #all this to say! just do your own research and take somewhat inflammatory comments on the internet with a grain of salt #also just to make it clear im not making any sweeping statements on khao kheow or the treatment of moo deng im just summarizing what i foun #based on what's being said in the most popular post on the subject ive seen.#for the potential like three people who will read all this hi :) hope ur having a nice day

my life feels like that window of time between waking up and 2pm when you have an appointment scheduled and can't do anything. literally waiting for i have absolutely no clue what. waiting for things to return to normal? to feel like myself? idk man. send help

Randomly decided I didn't want to be on the edge of the map after all and changed my base location on Volcano. >.>

I found my old ASE base!!! Was seriously considering taking the same spot but then I poked down the beach further and found this little penninsula-ish spot. It should be plenty big enough for my house and a dino pen. \o/

Checked out the ocean right there and I should be able to do a nice-sized water pen too. And I spotted a 140 basilo hanging out nearby so I gotta remember to go tame her next time I'm on here.

The wyverns on Aras are still going, we've gotten some good lightnings but nothing perfect yet, and the fires don't want to cooperate at all. Argh. >.<

And I've been breeding the gigas on N&A whenever I remember and we just got a double mutation on one. Not on any useful stats, but the baby looks pink and purple so I need to remember to get a screenshot next time. \o/

you ever realize you never properly learned how to say a character's name, so by the time you finally HEAR it, you have no idea who they're talking about? cause I feel like I keep doing this and it's very confusing to keep being corrected like that

#I have this habit of only reading the first few letters and then completely skimming over the rest of a name #which leads me to just. totally making it up #ko-she-key (koschei from doctor who) and tin-tall-gia (tintaglia from the rain wild chronicles) are my favorite names that I've fucked up #the funniest part is I only sometimes chose to recognize the mistake and fix it #I do not think those two will ever be pronounced correctly. I just. can't. that's who they are to me #plus soz but you're a liar if you're gonna tell me the way I say “ko-she-key” isn't an infinitely more fun way to pronounce it #even if it is... y'know... just not even the same name FFVJVFJ #I'm not tagging either media cause I mean whatever if you find it good for you but I NEEDED to show off how egregious those examples are #I'm being so fucking serious when I said I SKIM over these names.
