i love the cat!mick au smmm!! How do you think mick would react to other animals??

hi there!! this is a great question!

ok, for starters: he has a love hate relationship with dogs. he’s generally nervous around them, and probably would avoid them altogether. vince, being a dog person, would probably forget this and bring his little dogs over whenever they hang out and would then watch as micks tail puffs up and he starts hissing. of course, vince’s dogs wouldn’t understand and would probably react and start barking or something… which would only scare mick even more. he got airplane ears one time and vince knew that was a cue to get the dogs out of the room asap. even random dogs on the street makes him a bit anxious, but he’s better at hiding it in public. he’d probably just do everything he can to avoid them, like walking on the other side of the road if he sees one coming. still, he knows they aren’t bad and he shouldn’t be scared of them. that innate cat mindset just makes him anxious about them. maybe the rest of the band would try to do some sort of exposure therapy on him to get him over his fear… i don’t know if it would work or not though.

birds are another animal he reacts to awfully. cats like to chase birds and hunt them or whatever and… mick catches himself doing that. if the band leaves mick alone outside for too long, they can catch him running around chasing a bird. that’s just an instinct engrained in him so… most of the time the band has to accompany him outside to make sure he’s not losing focus of whatever it is he’s out there to do. cause TRUST he will be chasing some innocent bird. this is the same with small rodents, do not trust that mf to let one skitter by him without a fight!! actually… any animal a cat can hunt should not be left alone with mick… he will try to hunt them.

let’s just say the crue refuses to keep any pets with mick around. their animals either stay home when they’re working (and not working), or they put them up for adoption when they realize micks going to be around them for a good while. micks already a pet for the band… maybe they don’t need any other pets??

How would the crüe react to Mick bringing a cat home? OR a random cat just jumping on him/his lap and him not even fazed about it, cue him petting the cat like it's a normal occurrence

headcanon girl here to deliver this cute little thing! So, you wanna know how the Crüe would react to mick getting a cat…now we’re talking!

i’ll call this one: confessions of a crazy cat man!

- first off…i think they would genuinely be surprised. like they had no clue mick even liked animals, they’ve automatically equated “grumpy man” with “hates every single thing” so there’s no way mick would ever have an interest in keeping a pet! they’d be a bit weary. (sorta in a “this must be a joke maybe this is a gift he’s giving someone else??” sort of way.)

- as the days go by, they realize how serious he was about owning a cat. he’s almost over prepared. micks got like fifty cat toys, what looks like a lifetime supply of cat food and cat treats, a cat tree, a scratching post, a little bed, a litter box with enough boxes of the litter stuff to last two whole months…it’s almost entirely overboard.

- the next thing they notice is how careful mick treats his cat. he knows exactly how to hold it, how to pet it…he even knows when to give the little kitten space.

- tommy would hypothesize that it’s because mick himself is a cat…in human form ofc. nobody knows if he’s being serious or not cause he’s certainly not saying all this in a joking manner. nikki and vince are more hesitant to go that far, but they certainly notice the change in micks behaviour.

- if they were all living in the motley house together, maybe they’d notice how much more calm the older mans become. he doesn’t yell at any of them as much (probably because loud sudden noises would scary “the baby,” as mick has grown to affectionately call his new friend, another thing that trips the guys out). he’s loves playing with the cat, sometimes just sitting on the ground and playing around with it, which is so weird to see for the rest of the band…him being all soft and sort of domestic in a way.

- ALSO,,,he’s so much more affectionate to the cat than to his band!! the boys can’t believe how affectionate and happy he is around that damn cat because…it should be them! but ofc none of them want to admit they’re jealous of a cat…of all things.

- i feel like the guys would offer to help with the cat and mick wouldn’t trust them enough. maybe someone’s like “hey i’ll feed the cat while you’re gone!” but micks already dishing the food out and going “nah i don’t trust you, you’d feed it too much and make it sick of something.” like… he’s simply just a single father of five (the band +the cat)

- i can imagine the cat would probably get in the way during rehearsals. it would weave around micks feet while he’s doing a solo or try to play with the wires plugged into the amps. nikki would probably passive aggressively tell mick to get ahold of his “child.” (cue a grown man chasing around a tiny kitten so he can sit it back on the couch and hope it doesn’t move again…) also, the cat wouldn’t even mind the loud noise of the drums or guitars…in fact it would probably enjoy it! (micks cat is the first ever motley crue stan lmaoo)

-also silly little thought but if he had an orange cat in the 80’s he’d probably name it garfield because he thinks it’s funny (i know he has an orange cat rn but that cat has the most british sounding name ever and i refuse to accept that…i don’t know who i should blame that on tbh).

now…as for a scenario in which a cat just randomly jumps onto his lap…

- i think it would happen while the band is outside on a porch or something. they’re just casually talking about something (maybe a tour is about to start, they could be talking about flights or hotels just something random) and all of a sudden a cat runs up the porch and just plops right down onto micks seat. at first they don’t notice it cause they’re so engrossed in their conversation until tommy looks down and gasps.

- everyone jumps, then looks where tommys looking…and they all would burst into laughter. mick wouldn’t really be fazed by it either…he stays calm, but he’s practically smiling at the random cat who just decided to use him as a chair. nikkis trying to get close to the cat to pet it but it starts hissing at him. it hisses at tommy when he tries to lift it up and vince decides it’s not worth getting bitten, so he backs off. surprisingly, when mick calmly pets it, the cat immediately warms up to him.

- the rest of the crue look on in shock as mick strokes the cat’s fur and tries to stop himself from grinning. tommy would probably be a bit jealous and he’d whine about how unfair it is that the “grumpy old man managed to tame a stray cat” while he couldn’t. nikki would probably end up calling mick “the cat whisperer,” or something like that.

ok but this was so cute and fun to write!! i like the idea of mick being super gentle towards cats and all that, also that second prompt will always remind me of those photos of mick with his neighbors cat that managed to sneak onto his porch. i love one gothic evil looking man who’s a complete sweetie to the cats in his life (and the ones that just manage to sneak up on him)! i hope you enjoyed these!!
