also recently ive gotten the urge to redesign kari since I've been thinking about him and his background a lot lately
#something something he used to start fights and shit until it hurt his sister and then he started following her to make up for it#it wasn't necessary and she never held it against him. but he wanted to get back to her anyways#and then he was diagnosed with fractum anima. he begged her to let him search for the lunar ichor under the mountain#and after so much insistence she obliged#kari feels like he's giving back to people constantly... especially keir#despite the bickering hes so grateful. constantly trying to make himself useful to both him and mouse hole#oleander speaks more to that unwavering loyalty he had towards her. mind you i dont think his loyalty towards him is unwavering (or not yet#cirrus also speaks to the repentant boy who needs to make up for his sins just in a less... warm way#francesco..... he's a bit worried for him. then again it's his life and he can live it however he wants...#but he doesn't want somebody else to get caught under their hubris#just realized i never mentioned what hr helped his sister with lmao. h#she's a doctor!! hed usually do maintenance around the clinic since its what he does best (huge strong boy)#but he also helped w the patients sometimes! so he has some basic medical knowledge#im still obscuraless btw. thats the only thing keeping me from this redesign

Yandere batfam or justice league with a reader who’s afraid of strong people/men due to a past abusive relationship? She never wants to feel that powerless and weak again so she actively avoids interacting with anyone stronger, bigger, taller any more than necessary. She doesn’t hold it against other ppl she just has a lot of trauma that she’d rather not work through and feel safe in her little bubble
Hit me Hard and Soft
Synopsis: You get saved by Robin, but not everything is as it seems.
Pairing: Yandere!Poly!Romantic!Batboys X Gn!Reader
Tw: All characters aged up, of course; Mentions and descriptions of violence, including physical, psychological, sexual and financial abuse, and Damian fighting criminals (I'm particularly proud of the action scene I wrote); Drugging and being unconscious; Mentions of death of minor characters and suicide; Mentions of past grooming (Reader's ex) and age gap (Reader’s ex, Reader X Bruce, and the batboys age is not mentioned); Implied stalking; Mentions of kidnapping; Reader's very traumatized and weary of everyone; Reader doesn't trust the police; Mention of a panic attack and descriptions of actual panic; Guns and knifes; Mention of cigarettes; Implied needles; English isn't my 1st language.
Requested? Yes.
Extra notes: Wish I had more interactions between Reader and the batboys here, but I'm more than willing to make a part 2 with the right idea.
General masterlist | Hit me Hard and Soft - Series masterlist
He's back again. You wish you could say you didn't know why he always came back, but you did. The food wasn't that great and it wasn't that close to where he told you he worked or lived. It also didn't help that he always made sure to be served by you. And that he flirted with you.
— Evening, (N/N)! Is there something as sweet as you on today’s menu? — You gave a small and polite laugh.
— Strawberry pie… As always…
It was kinda sad, but mostly scary. If it wasn't for your ex, you would be thrilled to have gotten the attention of Dick fucking Grayson. The whole city knew he was handsome, rich, talented and charismatic. Gotham's sweetheart, Gotham's golden boy. And from your daily interactions, he lived up to the expectations. He was polite even when flirting with you and asking you out. Yet, something held you back.
— Nice! Since you get out in a few, why don't you bring in two slices? One for me and one for you, it's on me, of course. — You shook your head quickly, with an empty heart, just wanting to get away from him as fast as possible.
You were with your ex since you were 17 to 26. Almost 10 years wasted on a dirtbag. He convinced you to leave your friends, to leave your family, to leave your job. As soon as you started living together, you were completely dependent on him. Sometimes you blamed him, sometimes yourself, sometimes the people you had around you, but back then, where you came from, people weren't questioning the imbalance of powers between a 17 year old highschooler with no job and a 23 year old man with a steady job and living alone.
He convinced you that going to college and ending your relationship was the worst decision you could take. Then, that you didn't need your family, he could take care of you. One day, he decided you couldn't have friends.
He often locked you inside the house, cursed your skills and appearance, neglected your overall health, intimidated you, screamed at you, broke your things that he did and didn't pay for. He hurt you physically, even sexually. You knew both dating him and leaving him was hard, you just expected living with the scars was going to be easier.
And it was! You decided to run away from him and to Gotham when you received the news that your mom died and he didn't even want to let you go to the funeral. The grieving made you reflexive and you realized how shitty your situation was. For years you just thought that it would eventually get better, that you just needed to be strong, that he showed he loved you when he wasn't being an asshole, that you couldn't get anything better, that he made you feel special.
You couldn't even go to the police, he was a cop, you knew the chances that in any scenario you would lose. So you ran.
You knew it was dangerous, but you had nothing to lose. If he didn't kill you, you would do it yourself. You made a plan, drugged him, took some of his money, used his house keys, left everything behind for the second time in your life. You didn't waste time asking for help from the people you knew. You took the bus and went as far away as you could.
Your paranoia was so bad that for almost a year, you would settle in a city, work to save up enough, and leave again, rinse and repeat. Eventually, Gotham seemed big and far enough to go by unnoticed.
Or that's what you thought, until Dick Grayson stopped by the diner you worked to have breakfast before going to work, as a cop, and decided you caught his attention.
Since then, he came back everyday. Either breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just to hang out with some family member, usually one of his brothers, his dad appeared with him sometimes too. Your boss loved the attention Bruce and Tim attracted, the two most media active ones, since they both led Wayne Enterprises.
Eventually, even them started appearing multiple times a week. You thought you were healing, until you found yourself crying for almost four hours at home in a panic attack.
You didn't want their attention. Not only was it weird, but they were just so… Superior to you.
They were all taller, more muscular, faster, smarter, richer. It was like reliving the beginning of your relationship at 17, plus 10 times worse. Five because they were five people mirroring your ex, and more five just because of your trauma, experience, negativity and lack of naiveness.
Also, why were they ALL into you??? And they were aware of it! It was weird! Why??
Bruce Wayne was disarmingly charming in his dilf way. Dick was surprisingly accessible. Jason was soft spoken despite his resting bitch face and leather jacket. Tim was cute in a nerdy way. Damian almost made you laugh with his sarcastic humor.
Either way, you never wanted to feel as little as you felt before, so you just did your job, acted polite, but ultimately kept your distance.
Freedom has its difficulties, one of them being that you need money, and for money, you need a job, which means sometimes you have to stay until closing time, at 11 PM, in Gotham.
You're not the only employee to stay so late, but you and your co-worker live in opposite directions, so walking alone it is. They're taking the bus, but you only live two blocks away, so you gulp down your anxiety and keep walking. One hand on your pocket, holding your taser firmly, and keeping your head up, turning to look at every sound.
It's cold, and the street is empty and dimly lit. Some places are so dark that you wonder why you're even paying taxes if the streetlamps won't work.
Two men turn the corner a few meters in front of you, one at least a foot taller, the other, two inches max. They're wearing hoodies and their hands are on their pockets, the light behind them creates a shadow that doesn't allow you to see their faces, nor where they're looking at, but they are coming in your direction.
There's a car, parked between you both. Some people might think at this point it's just paranoia, but you’ve heard stories of people walking next to cars, getting pulled inside by someone who was hiding in there, and getting kidnapped.
Your first instinct is flight, so you turn around, ready to run, even if you look weird in case those guys weren't planning to do anything with you, just to see other two guys emerging from the other corner, those two almost as tall as that first guy. Aside from the smaller one, they're all broad, even with their thick clothes covering them.
One of them has a cigarette on his mouth, which he throws on the ground when you turn your attention to him. Your fear might have caused you to hallucinate, but you're almost sure he's smirking.
You freeze for a second, your only escape is to run to the side, and pray their long legs don't get to you first. You think you hear one of them start hollering at you.
You only take a step to the side, when a loud crash startles you so hard that you have to look behind, while walking backwards to the street. You take a second to process the sight.
Robin is standing in the middle, just a few steps behind where you were standing a second ago. He's at least half a foot taller than all of them, and a lot broader. He's holding the tall one by his neck with his right hand, repeatedly hitting his head against the car’s window.
You're shell shocked, torn between staying put to watch this disaster, as interesting as a car crash, or running away. Gotham is so big that you never thought you would encounter one of its heroes, you weren't sure if you even wanted to.
When the guy seems to stop moving, Robin throws him against one of the other tall ones, the guy practically flies across 2 meters before hitting him, and when he does, they both fall to the ground. You remember all the times when your ex pushed you to the ground.
Your eyes are wide, horrified, watching the shortest guy take a pocket knife out of his pocket. Your throat locks, even if you want to scream for Robin to turn around, you only manage to stare and stay in place, however, the vigilant turns halfway around just in time to grab the guy by his wrist and his arm, just as he launched to stab him. He uses his body’s impulse to push the guy forward, the knife going to the fourth guy's shoulder, you hadn't even seen him get so close to him.
You look at the man from the car, he's still unconscious, the one who got tackled with him, however, is already standing and walking to the fight.
Everything’s happening too fast, you turn to the side to see the guy with the knife on his back on the ground, groaning and twitching in pain, while Robin is punching the shit out of the other guy, movements faster than you could ever dream of achieving. You remember being on the receiving end of someone's fists before.
With a final elbow to the cheek, the guy stumbles to the ground, you don't know what level of consciousness he’s in, by his posture before, you knew he was already compromised since the first hits he took.
Robin doesn't move, doesn't even turn to look at the guy who just fell, he's just looking forward, and when you notice this, you look at the remaining guy.
He's pointing a gun at him.
You don't think you can watch someone get shot in front of you, and you know if he gets rid of Robin, it's over for you. Logically, you knew these vigilantes somehow never die, still, it's counterintuitive to think he won't.
And he doesn't, in the blink of an eye, Robin's on the air, his right boot kicking the gun away, while still on the air, he wraps his legs around the guy's head, bends backwards, puts his hands on the ground, then launches his whole body to the front, the guy getting thrown over him. He falls to the ground, Robin stands on top of him with perfect balance. You don't even have time to process what just happened, the coolest and scariest thing you saw your whole life, when Robin punches him one last time. Now, he's definitely unconscious.
You’ve felt like a bystander this whole interaction, it felt like ages, but in reality all of this couldn't have taken more than 20 seconds, maybe even less than 15. You don't know what to do now. You're theoretically safe, but Robin’s still too big, too strong, too fast. He knocked out four guys without getting touched a single time. He broke a car's window. He threw around two guys who weighed at least 80kg. He's not even panting. And now he's looking at you.
A whimper gets stuck in your throat. You don't know if you should thank him, stay silent, or yell at him to stay away from you. When he takes a step in your direction, your instincts get the better of you and you turn around, running.
You hear him call your name, although your brain doesn't process it. You see headlights and look towards it. It's a car. You don't trust you’ll get help, but at least you're not alone. You run in it's direction, waving your arms and screaming bloody murder.
The car almost hits you, but you don’t process that until the last minute, but you get tackled to the ground just in time by the hero from before. You scream again, he's too close. Now, he's trying to hold you down. You keep screaming and trying to escape. You look to the side and the car just kept driving away, likely the driver wouldn't stay behind to be another victim to Robin's hands. You know you're not being rational right now, those guys are known for helping people, he just saved you, he's still trying to stop you from getting hurt, but you're scared. You've been scared since you were a teenager.
Your eyes burn, your arms and throat hurt, but adrenaline doesn't let you feel anything. Not even the invasion of a needle on your side.
— Was it really necessary? — Tim deadpans Damian, who growls.
— You would have done the same, Drake.
— No, I wouldn't. You were supposed to use the psychological first aid approach and (Y/N) would've calmed down and trust us more in the future. But of course, you never use your brain. — Damian growls, stepping towards Tim, but he is stopped by Dick’s hand resting on his chest.
— Damian, calm down, Tim’s right. You knew better than to sedate them. You knew of (Y/N)’s trauma and you knew the route we wanted to take. — Damian's brows furrowed and he crossed his arms.
— I knew your feelings toward (Y/N) would make you become impulsive again. — Tim looked at Bruce, who was silent, with hands intertwined and elbows on the table, focused on your vitals on the screen and the sight of you laid on the bed on the medbay. — Will you now consider just letting you, me and Dick keep an eye on them during patrol? — Damian and Jason scoffed.
— Why you aiming at me now? It was the demon who gave that guy brain death! — Jason protested and Tim looked at him.
— Just to be sure you won't freak out like him and kill thrice as many people, on purpose this time. — Jason glared at him.
— B, you better add more security measures around (Y/N), before Timbo tries to clone them or something. — He muttered with snark.
Dick shook his head and sighed, going to stand on Bruce's side, crossing his arms and looking at you through the camera with him.
— What's the plan now, B? They're probably waking up soon. — Bruce hummed, relaxing his stance and resting his back against his chair. The silence lingered for a few seconds, everyone just looking at you, waiting for the oldest’s opinion.
Bruce turned around, looking at them.
— … Damian, Tim's right. You were impulsive today and you killed someone, even if it was an accident. I stopped expecting that from you since you were 12, you're an adult now. You not only broke our trust, but (Y/N)’s already shattered trust. They need to know they're safe with us, and drugging them, instead of puting to use more time and effort to bring the comfort to them, is not going to do that. You weren't much different than the man who hurt them tonight. — His father's words were like a punch to Damian's stomach, leaving him speechless. Dick pursed his lips, not turning around as to make it easier to not comfort his brother just yet. Bruce turned to Tim. — Tim, I understand you want to take measures seriously. But you need to give Jason a chance. That was unasked for. — The mentioned blinked, still unacostummed with the treatment he received from his dad when he followed his rules. Tim looked away. Bruce turned to Damian again. — Damian, no patrolling around (Y/N) until you prove we can trust your temper again. — He waited for a confirmation, which came with a sneered lip.
— Yes, father.
Dick looked back a Bruce.
— What about (Y/N)? — He bit his lips. Bruce hummed, turning to look at the monitor again.
— … What do you all think?
— Well… Damian said their name, they might not remember it, but they can't just wake up at home. They’d try to flee from us. We could bring them home earlier, but our ideal plan was to make them come willingly, in the period of at least two years, in the best case. We could leave them at the hospital, and just keep our plan going. — Dick listed the possible strategies they could take. Bruce hummed.
Tim piped up.
— I already altered their phone's algorithm to send the job application as my assistant at Wayne Enterprises to them. And the Wayne Foundation’s application for the internship at Gotham Uni. — Bruce nodded.
— Damian? What do you understand about that? — It was clearly the beginning of his test.
— The more secure in their independence they feel, the easier it is to heal and open themselves up to new opportunities. — Damian exclaimed with confidence. Bruce nodded.
— Jason, are you still interested in college? — Everyone looked at Jason surprised, he was also surprised, he hadn't talked to Bruce about college since before he died.
It took a few seconds to processes what it would mean.
— Uh… I think so?! — Bruce nodded.
— What about me, father? — Damian spoke inquisitively. — I also want more opportunities to get closer to (Y/N)! — Bruce narrowed his eyes at him.
— We will think about that when you're in the clear.
— But-
— That's final. You reap what you sow. — Damian huffed and nodded begrudgingly. — … Now, since Robin was the one to save them, take the batmobile and leave them in the hospital. Then come straight back home. Understood? — Damian clenched his jaw and nodded silently, leaving to get your unconscious body.
Moments later, when you were both out, on the way to the hospital, Tim fiddled with the computer, the scream showed the batmobile’s tracker, your tracker, Damian's tracker, Damian's contact lenses’s camera and the car’s camera. They all looked at him.
— … It's just to make sure…

Could I request Diluc, Kaeya, and Zhongli trying their hardest -and failing- not to cry after their wife, due to being tired and frustrated during an argument, wonders if they should get divorced because she thinks she's tying them down?
Ooh, ok, I need to sleep BUT the chance to write angst? sleep can wait! I wasn't entirely sure how to end it so I just left it like this. I'm sure this could be much, much longer but I didn't wanna make it too long, yanno? meant as a fem!reader but I don't mentions pronouns, just the term 'wife'.
▻ Kaeya
He didn't really know when the argument started. He didn't know what it was about anymore either. It was one of those arguments where the points end up getting lost and you're just yelling at one another about something completely unrelated. Honestly, you two were basically screaming at one another. But then he heard that one, awful sentence he never wanted to hear in his life.
"Why don't we just get a divorce and I won't be ruining your life anymore!?" Suddenly, the room's so eerily quiet that you finally realized what you said. Your gaze held Kaeya's and you watched as his usual cocky exterior just melt and tears fill his beautiful eyes. He slapped the back of his hand against his lips to stop but he couldn't. Your words shook him to his core and every thought in his mind was wiped away.
At some point, he didn't even register you trying to calm him down as he fell to his knees, tears flooding down his face. He didn't even register as he wrapped his arms around you in a near death grip, begging for you to stay.
He loved you, adored you, cherished you, worshipped you basically. So... wherever did you get this idea that you were tying him down? That you were ruining his life? Just where did he end up going wrong for you to have such awful thoughts?
▻ Diluc
Often talking to Diluc was something that was a little touch and go. He didn't talk much and when he did, he usually only talked enough to get the point across and that was it. Even during arguments, Diluc only spoke when he felt it was necessary. To avoid pointless yelling matches, he kept quiet until you were done.
But tonight was... different. Maybe it was a hard day for him, maybe it was something you said, maybe it was that he had a frustrating spat with Kaeya, or maybe that he was dealing with issues at the tavern... but tonight, Diluc was just as angry as you. You two were yelling so much that even the maids heard you outside of the manor. There was no end in sight.
"Then leave, Diluc! Leave me and you can be happy doing whatever you want! I won't be here to tie you down anymore and you can be a free fucking bird!" Diluc opened his mouth to retaliate but nothing came out. It was like the world stopped moving for a second. This uncomfortable pit grew in his stomach and he just knew it was bad. You thought you were tying him down? Never once did such an atrocious thought ever cross his mind. Never during an argument, never during a bad day, not once in his life.
So... why did you? Diluc didn't realize just how much he hated the silence until that moment. He hated it so much, that the tears he attempted to bury just burst out in a loud cry. Anything to stop that deafening silence.
▻ Zhongli
Zhongli was by far, the worst person to argue with. Why? He just sat there silently until you were done. Zhongli didn't argue, no. He waited, listened, then just explained his side. If it didn't work, he'd step away. But even an archon such as himself had limits. Your arguments never turned into screaming matches, at least not on his end, but sometimes they dragged on.
Today was just one such day. Even with his near impeccable memory, the man couldn't recall what happened to lead you two here. You were so upset and angry and no matter what he did, he made it worse. Truth be told, he was angry and frustrated too. It was like neither of you were listening to each other anymore.
"Well, if it's all pointless then why don't we just quit now?! Let's just get a divorce and you can go on happily without a wife to just drag you down!" That's when everything just stopped. Zhongli slowly looked away as he registered the words, feeling his chest begin to constrict.
Why... did you say that? Why would you think that? Was that his fault? You figure began to blur and he fell to his knees, desperately grabbing the dining table for support. You were at his side and tried to calm him down, desperately trying to wipe his tears but anything you said after just... didn't touch him. The awful reality of his life had his heart in a death grip and he could only listen if he got away from it.

Sweet Spot 𓍢ִ໋🀦
Alhaitham x fem!reader
contents: squirting, fingering, small story before smut, curious Alhaitham, mind fucked reader, bottom reader x top alhaitham
-+- - + - - + - - + - - + - + - - + --+- - --+- - + - - + - -
Alhaitham wasn't interested in sex until he met you. Well it was a book to be exact, a 'How to' sex book that he came across in a bazaar held in the city of wisdom.
-+- - + - - + - --+- - + - - + - - + - - + - + - - + --+- - + - - + - - + - - + -
"Book sale! Book sale! 40℅ off!" A man yelled promoting his books. The scribe isn't the type of person to go down town and be surrounded by people, but when he heard they sell books from all across Teyvat he just can't help but check it out.
While Kaveh wonders in the furniture section, the Scribe found himself between piles of books. He was looking around when he came across a book, quite a thick book but somehow light. The cover shows a hand, holding what seems to be a peach with the title 'Ladies' favorite secret',
"a cliche title" He mumbled when the merchant that's selling these books appeared behind him.
"Ah~ I see you're a cultured man, hm? " He wiggles his eyebrows, but after not seeing any reaction from the taller man he immediately cleared his throat and continued with his words "Pardon me friend-- are you interested in this book? "
But before Alhaitham could reply, the merchant continued his words "This book is written by a quite famous author amongst the ladies and she decided to help the men out here." The merchant then took a deep breath and held the book infront of Alhaitham's face "With this hand painted cover she presented a book to make your girlfriend happy! " The merchant smiled widely, and again after faced with an expressionless face, the merchant laughs awkwardly. "O-or partner, I don't judge!" the merchant said, thinking Alhaitham was offended by his words. But after not receiving any reaction he decided to change the topic.
"Say, friend? Care to take the book home with you? It's 40% off and your-"
"I'll take it" Alhaitham cut short
"What?" The merchant blinked a couple of times
"Need i repeat myself?" Alhaitham said, accidentally intimidating the poor merchant.
"O-oh! that wou;dn't be necessary. Uhm, Is there anything else? " The merchant fixes his wrinkled top, cold sweat trickling down his neck.
"No" He replied, though there was also another book that caught his eye. It was a Kama sutra, but he doesn't need it. For now that is, after all the bazaar will be going on for two weeks. Plenty of time
-+- - + - - + - - + - - + --+- - + - - + - - + - - + --+- - + - - + - - + - - + -
A few days passed by and you noticed him being more bold, with his movements. Such as; helping you from behind when cutting a certain fruit, reaching for a book on the top shelf, getting a blanket from the closet and pressing himself against you while doing so, pulling you closer by the waist, and even taking a shower together more often. Teasing you, giving you bedroom eyes and a not so subtle hints.
So it's not surprising when you start to become more flustered around him and that made you overthink things. But those thoughts stopped when one day, you were cleaning the house and when you're dusting the bookshelves, you found a book that you've never seen before and after reading a little bit of the book. You can't help but wonder 'is this really him that bought this-'
"What are you doing? " The familiar voice cuts off your thoughts, making you flinch. "Alhaitham, you scared me" sighing after realizing it's just him. He walks over to you, towering you making you feel small. He looks down to see which page you were on "'How to find the sweet spot" he said, smirking slightly.
You looked down, realizing you're still holding the book and on page 69, coincidentally. So when you look up at him with a nervous smile along with an awkward chuckle only to be greeted by Alhaitham's eyes that are filled with something you've never seen from him. A wanting gaze.
"Want me to touch it for you, doll?" He leans in, kissing you. And after you agreed. He immediately puts you in a position, making your back lean against his broad chest as he holds your legs open as he bury his skilled digits in your cunt, curling it upwards and deep hitting your sweet spot. "Ah! Alhaitham--" you whined when his fingers dug deep into you, feeling it in your abdomen and a you writhed around feeling sensitive.
He hummed "Is this it? the sweet spot?" he mumbled to himself, learning your insides and taking notes of what makes you whine and shake like a leaf. "H-hah~ Alh-Haitham-" You moaned holding his wrist, feeling something build up in your abdomen. At this point you're drunk on his fingers, buried really deep in you and reaching spots that you can't reach with your own fingers. And after realizing the feeling that is in your abdomen is similar to the feeling you feel when you're about to pee. You panicked and try pushing his fingers away, only to have your wrist held by his other hand "W-wait, 'haitham! I-" he shushed you, his face beside your ear looking at the way his fingers pump in and out of your tight cunt.
He lets out a pleased, leaning in to your ear and nibbled on your ear "It's okay, no need to hold it in. Just let it out" You shake your head, scared at what's a bout to happen. Creaming around his two fingers, you begin to feel that you can't hold it in anymore and you told him "I-i can't it's too much!--angh~" he fondled your nipple through your shirt with the hand he used to grip your hand earlier. He shushes your whines with a kiss, swallowing every noise that comes out of your mouth.
With whines and moans filling up the room, you finally did what he said and finally let go that feeling building up in your abdomen. And when you did it felt like you blacked out for a few seconds, exhaling and letting out a relieved moan. You didn't realize you've squirted, and slouched against his chest. Alhaitham saw the big gush that sprayed from your pretty cunt, he was surprised and amazed that his doll can do such a thing!. That left you shaking and a whimpering, sweaty mess. Alhaitham then sat up and looked at your face again, then something inside him clicked. So without missing a beat he pushed two fingers in and began to massage your sweet walls
"A-hah! A-wait! I'm still sensi-tive! " You whine, writhing against the sheets and trying to push away his hand. But he only pushed away your hand and pressing down on your stomach. That resulted with a loud moan being ripped away from you. Despite your efforts of trying to push him away, you can't help but enjoy it and soon you became a mumbling mess., cumming again not long after.
He looked down to see your flushed face, too drunk on the feeling of his fingers. He tuts at your adorable face, in the midst of your heavy panting he pulled out his fingers and licking his fingers clean. "I didn't know you can be so messy" he said, easily changing your position.
"Wait, what are you doing?" you asked him and he replied with a chuckle "Oh? so you thought i was done with you?" he asked you with a smug smirk. That alone tells you that you're going to be here for awhile.

Sweet strawberry cakes and stitched together teddy bears. (Arlecchino x Fem!Reader)
You only vividly remember the last time you celebrated your birthday. You had just turned sixteen, and whilst no one usually ever put much importance on this day for you, Peruere and Clervie always did. You recall the pink haired girl approaching you in the darkness of your room as she crawled into bed with you carefully. Peruere stood at the door, unmoving and still, but she was there. Just for you.
Placing a clumsily made cake onto your lap, Clervie leaned her head against yours, her voice quiet and hushed in fear of being heard. "Happy birthday." She whispered into your ear, and it meant the world to you. Peruere delicately held a small gift in her clawed hands, her emotionless face partially illuminated by the moonlight filtering in through the window. It was a teddy bear they had made themselves, or maybe Clervie stitched it together whilst your wife found it's pieces. Either way, it was lost to time eventually, just like your dearest friend was.
Now, many years later and far away from the past that still haunts you, you forbade Arlecchino to ever mention that day again. Or, well, you never had to say anything. Both of your birthdays meant nothing to you after your previous "mother's" fall and so, you took your rebirths into your own hands.
Your past life wasn't a part of you here.
But on this day, in which you are forever reminded of your mere mortality and the fact that many of your companions never got older than the last birthday you remembered, you find yourself rather somber, even more than usual at that. And despite your wish to forget about it, your wife still acknowledged it with a kiss on your wrist in the morning. You felt bitter every time she did so, even of you knew she meant well.
Thankfully, however, this day would usually pass every year without anyone even thinking about it being your birthday. You often forget it yourself, too, anyway.
But today felt... different.
Perhaps it was the way Arlecchino's gaze seemed sharper and more focused even in the home, or the way Freminet was practically sweating buckets as he asked you to come along with him and his other two siblings for a "short" outing. But you could tell something was off.
"... You want to go run errands with me?" The question was asked carefully, yet the three siblings could immideatly tell that you were suspicious. It wasn't often that you left the home and everyone knew that you would rather not if you could help it. You were always worried about everyone's well-being, considering your past and its hardships. So your son's request was definitely quite odd. They usually never bothered to ask unless the errand runs were absolutely necessary. And you couldn't necessarily remember anything out of the ordinary happening this week either.
Lyney gave you a sly smile as he pressed a hand against your back and practically pushed you towards the front door with a tip of his hat. "Yes indeed, mother! Now let's get going before the bread at the baker sells out for the day!" He chimed as happily as always, yet that just earned him a raise of a brow from both you and Lynette for similar reasons. It was 12 pm... the bread had most definitely run out by now.
Deciding not to question it, you concluded that they may have just wanted to spend time with you outside. Fair enough, you supposed that you could grant them a small outing. Surely everyone will be fine for an hour or two. Arlecchino just gave you and the three siblings a silent nod in approval from her seat in the kitchen as she flipped through her paperwork with mild interest. The Father of the Hearth house being home certainly quelled your worries as you finally allowed Lyney to drag you out with no further complaints.
--
The streets were rather busy at this time of the day. You usually stayed clear around these hours and preferred to go out at night if there was ever the need for it. But Lyney was ever so determined to complete this errand run and if it was the last thing he did. Lynette had yet to say a word about it, whilst Freminet clinged to your side, often glancing at his pocket watch in near worry for a reason you couldn't figure out.
"Lyney, child... are you sure this is absolutely necessary?" You asked just as you were about to reach the bakery. "Ofcourse! We just ran out of bread after all... and you know how the younger kids get about that, mother." That was a flat-out lie, you noted swiftly. You were pretty sure that you had more than enough at home. But once again, you didn't say anything more. Perhaps they really did want to just spend time with you... but why couldn't they just say that outright?
As expected, however, the baker not only had no bread left but had closed shop early too. Lynette gave her sweating brother a deadpan, as he clearly was trying to come up with an excuse. One glance at Freminet, who was quickly shaking his head behind you whilst holding up his watch, made it clear that they couldn't turn around yet. They doubted that everyone was done setting everything up and needed to buy time. But you were always so hard-headed when it came to spending too much time away from the house. So what should they do now?
Clearing his throat, Lyney turned to you with a strained smile. "Ah! My, my... quite the bad luck, right? No matter, we still have other things on the list we can get for todays dinner!" Your brows furrowed at that. You don't recall even mentioning what you'd make today to anyone yet. Lynette swiftly elbowed her brother in the ribs knowingly whilst you were deep in thought, which made the man quickly straighten up and take off his hat. "Oh ah! Because we wanted to cook today! Together!" "... You've never done that before." "Ahahaha... you're so funny, mother! Now let's get going before the other shops close too!" He quickly grabbed onto your arm and pulled you along, his head turning to give his other two siblings a silent nod to proceed with their plans.
Since the two were trailing after the both of you, they were quick to pick up any small gifts when you weren't looking. They already had plenty for you at home, but with you watching everyone intensely every day, hiding anything from you was near impossible. It was a blessing and curse alike, yet you taught them well as they began practically hoarding anything they found under their clothes or making them disappear through some little magic tricks. Freminet was shaking like a leaf throughout all of this, yet hoped you didn't notice it too much.
Thankfully, you were more preoccupied with your oldest son dragging you around for his imaginary ingredient list that you were by now convinced didn't even exist. The more time went by, the more anxious and irritated you became. Sure, you appreciated that they wanted to go out with you, but unfortunately, your excellent perception was beginning to make you restless. You just wanted to get home already and resume your schedule with the other children.
"Okay, next up is-" "-Lyney, enough of this boy. Let's head home." You said as the setting sun bathed the world around you in its last sun rays. Freminet hid behind Lynette at the finality in your voice, which made it clear that you were very much done with their games. They knew that you were catching on and that hiding everything from you was impossible. It was truly impressive yet expected from the Mother of the House of Hearth.
Said young man gave you his usual smile, yet you could tell how nervous he was. "But Mother-" "-I'm unsure of what you're doing, all three of you." You began as you crossed your arms with a frown. "And I appreciate it if all you want is to just spend time with me. I really do. But you can also just say that, children. I know how busy your father and I can get, so I can understand... but you also have to also understand, that I have alot to do at home and can't stay out for long." You gently scolded the three, who just glanced at eachother in response. Well, this was not necessarily their goal... but it did hold you up for longer anyway!
After your lecture, you dragged the three back home. You were very tired from the outing, and whilst you found it nice to leave the house for a bit, today just felt so awfully wrong for you. Stepping into the dark and silent house, however, you couldn't help but freeze. The house of Hearth was never silent. It was always moving one way or another, even into the late hours of the night. It never laid still, never truly slept. Your anxiety shot through the roof, as many possibilities ran through your mind at once. Years and years of loss, torture, and pain always made you fear for the worst in moments like these.
Yet when you quickly rounded the corner to the grand living room in absolute terror and worry, the lights suddenly came on and a deafening yell of "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOTHER!" rang through the vast house. Confetti flew into the air, and you blinked in surprise, as the three siblings, including the rest of the children and even your wife, stood in front of you around a large table filled with a beautiful cake and plenty of endless gifts. You opened your mouth in surprise, yet were left speechless in shock, as the fear melted away in relief.
Suddenly, everything made sense, and you nearly felt proud that your children were able to sneak past you and organize such a grand party... but only nearly. A sob suddenly shook your body as you pressed a hand against your mouth. That was definitely too much for your heart to handle. Everyone stopped for a moment, realising that they maybe had gone too far, yet Arlecchino approaching you made them all relax again.
She took hold of your hands and wiped away your tears with her claws so delicately. "My apologies. We may have gone overboard." The party wasn't necessarily her idea, nor did she truly understand its purpose, but she had hoped that it would bring you some joy on a day that had been soured forever. And thankfully, when you gave her a weak smile, she was glad to learn that it indeed had done exactly that. "No, I... am just very happy. That's all." It was a partial lie. But it melted into the truth when you looked at all of your happy children in your home. You had made it so far in life. Who would've ever thought that you would ever find yourself happy on this accursed day? "However, give me another heart attack like this one, and I am kicking you all out for a day." You huffed, making everyone giggle before dragging you over to the table to celebrate.
Arlecchino calmly watched you from afar, her gaze calm and gentle. Especially when you opened your wife's gift to find a certain teddy bear in it that instantly moved you to tears once more. You met her eye, an expression on your face she understood well.
You both hoped Clervie was celebrating with you from above, just like she always would.

Summary: Simon and (Y/n) don't want children. After his vasectomy, (Y/n) realizes how much the fear of becoming a father has inhibited him.
Wordcount: 1.010
She had never experienced Simon like this before.
"The tests look good. If you want to, you have green light."
As neither of them wanted children, Simon had decided to have a vasectomy.
As he had never had a relationship before and sex wasn't really a big issue, he had never given it much thought, but that had changed.
(Y/n) didn't want children either. They're cute as long as you can give them back. She was more than willing to be 'just' the cool aunt.
The decision was final for both of them. The pill worked, but this way (Y/n) could finally stop taking it and no one had to worry anymore.
"Good means absolutely safe?"
"Yes, Mr. Riley. Your last semen sample was positive... or rather negative."
Simon just nodded and held out his hand. The doctor tried to grab it, but Simon slapped it away and pointed to the papers.
The doctor handed them to him with a slight blush on his cheeks.
Simon skimmed the pages and nodded with satisfaction.
"Thanks, doc.", he mumbled.
The doctor nodded. "If there's anything, just let me know."
It wasn't until the evening, when they were both lying on the sofa, that it started. Simon began to gently kiss her jaw, letting his hands wander under her shirt.
If only she had known then, what was in store for her.
Three hours later she wasn't really sure, whether she still had a functioning brain cell. She was lying on her stomach, exhausted and drooling on the bed. She hadn't really come down from her last high when she felt Simon's lips on her back again. Her breath caught. Simon moaned with pleasure and a little laugh underneath. "Just one more little mouse. Seven is a lucky number.", he whispered in her ear and bit tenderly into the shell of her ear.
The next morning, everything hurt. Her thighs were covered in bite marks. Her back was a mess. Her neck felt like her thighs looked and all in all, she was mostly sore. No matter how gently Simon had rubbed her with ointment.
Surprisingly, he was still sleeping next to her. Usually he would have been up and away by the time she got up. He had already trained and made breakfast, but today he was lying on his pillow, slumbering, with a cute little pout on his lips.
She turned to him with a smile. What had gotten into him? They'd had good sex, but this? Despite being on the pill, he always insisted on using a condom. He usually never came more than once inside her. Despite everything, he often pulled out and came on her. She had just assumed he was into it, but after last night?
Had he been so afraid of having a child? Had this procedure taken such a weight off his shoulders?
He moves slightly.
His eyes opened slowly.
"Morning," he mumbled.
"Morning," she simply replied.
He rubbed his face and stretched. "Fuck. My back." he grumbled.
She laughed. "Serves you right."
He didn't answer that.
She snuggled against his shoulder. He buried his nose in her hair.
"You realize, you have to carry me everywhere today, right?"
"Hm. Anywhere you want."
"Why didn't you do this before, if it was weighing you down so much?"
He closed his eyes again. "I have a therapist for that kind of talk.", he mumbled.
She punched him lightly on the shoulder. "I'm serious."
He sighed. "I've never had a relationship and the one night stands were rare and sporadic." He shrugged. "Wasn't necessary up to this point. Sorry, if it was too much."
She kissed his shoulder. "It's okay. Just remember that, when I get ugly, after I get off the pill."
"Why would you get ugly?"
"Hormonal acne and hair loss are definitely coming."
He grinned. "I've been through the meat grinder once and you're worried about a few pimples?"
She pouted. "That's a sensitive subject."
He tousled her hair, "I'll help you squeeze them out, too."
She smacked him on the chest with a grin and no emphasis. He laughed.
Five months later
Simon looked at the nutritional supplement packs that had been piling up in her kitchen for the last few months.
(Y/n's) skin had rebelled briefly, but the worst of it seemed to have subsided. For two weeks, she had been in so much pain because of the inflammation under her skin that she had sometimes stood in the shower crying.
Simon had given her every bath that could even help in the least.
But now, two months later, it had subsided. Things seemed to be settling down, even if they weren't perfect yet. She had an appointment with her beautician today and Simon had thankfully stayed at home.
He was reading the newspaper, when he heard the front door open and close again.
(Y/n) came into the small kitchen. Her skin was still shiny from some cream, but she seemed to be glowing somehow.
Unimpressed, she threw her bag onto a chair and sat astride his lap. She immediately pressed her lips to his and wrapped her arms around his neck. Taken by surprise, he tried to figure out what was going on when she pulled at his shirt. He had no idea what was about to happen.
Hours later, he lay wrung out on the bed, breathing heavily.
"I want another round. When can you manage that?"
"Today?" He looked at her in shock. She nodded.
He looked up at the ceiling, shocked. "Nothing happens here for the next three to five business days."
She looked at him, pouting.
"What's gotten into you?" he asked, pulling her hand towards him, which was already exploring again.
"Not only is my skin fourteen again, but it looks like my libido is too."
"But I'm no longer fourteen mouse... My jaw hurts... And my back."
She grinned. "Will you at least take a bath with me?"
"At least? That was eight rounds!"
"Nine is a lucky number."
"Oh Fuck."

okay let's hope i don't screw this one up this time haha anyway popping in for a very early slick sunday submission (again) to talk more about my secret pups steddie fic idea because it's on my brain and i need to share.
warning: this is gonna get kinda sad (shocker)
so i think last i mentioned this idea, i talked about eddie finding out he had pups (theyre twins) because one of them is sick. i also mentioned that the other pup still held a fair bit of resentment toward eddie, which he totally thought was valid. i hope that catches us up enough that you know what i'm talking about (and if not i'm sorry)
this time around i wanna say some more on eddie's own resentment, because anyone thrown into this situation would definitely hold some against at least one person.
eddie expects his resentment to be toward steve. this is the man he loved, even if he never really knew how to say it back then. steve kept his own pups from him. all this time, he never told eddie. not until he had to. not until he was desperate, with no other options left. he stole YEARS away from eddie, years he could've been there, watching his pups grow up. instead, eddie is faced with two children that he father, whom he doesn't even know. strangers. and all of that is because of steve.
shockingly, he doesn't hate steve. at least, not nearly as much as he thinks he should. yeah, he's upset. he's mad. part of him wants to spit that steve had no right to keep them from him. but another part of him knows steve. loves steve, still. it reminds him that steve had to have a good reason not to tell him. and it also reminds eddie that he's just as much to blame. he could have come back. he could've told steve how he really felt from the beginning, and he didn't. he never even bothered to call, or write.
no, his biggest resentment lies in his band mates. they were supposed to be his friends. they'd lived together on tour buses on and off throughout the last several years. they stuffed themselves and all their equipment in vans for their first two tours, for fuck's sake. they were his brothers. and they lied to him. they knew, this whole time, that eddie had pups. they kept that from him. eddie doesn't talk to them for weeks when he flies back to indiana. any necessary communication went through their manager. eddie refused to talk to them directly. nothing could override the utter betrayal he felt from them.
and he's so pissed at wayne. his own uncle lied to him and kept this big secret. he got to be there for all the big moments in the twins' lives, and never told eddie a thing. it wasn't fair. unfortunately, eddie didn't have the luxury of avoiding wayne the way he could his band mates. because wayne was there, everywhere, all the time. always checking in. the pups loved him, too, which made it so much harder on eddie. he should have that with his pups, and he doesn't. he's practically a stranger to them, no matter how much steve told them about him. and eddie's not so much of an ass that he would keep that relationship away from his pups. not when wayne had done so much to help steve and the pups. not when the pups loved wayne so much.
it's so conflicting for eddie. he wants to be so mad at everyone, but he can't. not when his little girl is sick, and the doctors still can't figure out what's wrong with her. not when any breath could be her last, and they won't know until it's too late. because she's getting worse, and fast. when eddie had first arrived at the hospital, it was to find steve having a breakdown in the hallway. nurses and doctors and yelling and screaming machines and chaos. eddie's heart stops, thinking he was too late (he's not, i promise). he's not sure he's ever been quite this terrified before then.
i just think about eddie having to face all of these conflicting emotions in the middle of a very stressful time. this is the first time he's met his own pups, and he doesn't know how much time they have together. he doesn't know if his daughter will get better. he's stuck living with the fact that she may not. he may lose her forever, after just starting to get to know her. and of course, he will do everything possible to make sure he doesn't take any of this out on his pups (whether he succeeds at that or not is still up for debate)
i also think there will need to be a LOT of apologies made by multiple parties, and not all of those apologies may be accepted right away. it's a very complex situation, with a lot of complex ways to go about it.
(i would also like to mention that this fic premise is 100% absolutely in the process of becoming a real fic, it's just taking me 800 years to write because i never have any idea where a story is going until it's going there)

Behind Closed Doors (Part 8)
Pairing : Boss!Dean Winchester X Assistant!Reader
Word count : 1.5k
Warnings : angst.
A/n : I don’t even know where this is going atp.
"I'm sorry Dean." Y/n pushed him away slightly, creating a distance between the two. "I can't do this." She said before leaving him alone in his office. Dean let out a breath that was half a growl, half a sob, and slammed his fist into the wall continuously. The pain flared through his hand, but it felt insignificant compared to the agony twisting inside him.
"Dammit, Y/n," he whispered, leaning his forehead against the cool surface. His knuckles ached, bruised from the relentless impact against the wall, and he stared at them, flexing his fingers slowly. The burn felt better than the storm in his chest, better than the helplessness swirling inside.
Outside the room, Y/n pressed her back against the wall, barely holding it together. Her breath hitched as she listened to the dull thud of Dean's fist hitting the wall, the muffled growl of his frustration carrying through the thin barrier between them. She squeezed her eyes shut, biting down on her lip to stop the sob that threatened to escape, but it was useless. It felt like her chest was caving in, like the weight of everything she'd been holding in finally shattered her.
Her hands trembled as she covered her mouth, trying to silence the gasping sobs that broke free, tears spilling down her cheeks. She slid down to the floor, knees pulling to her chest, head resting against the wall that separated them. She wanted to scream, to burst into the room and take all his pain away. But all she could do was cry.
Y/n took a deep breath, steeling herself against the waves of sorrow that threatened to drown her. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and moved to her desk. She has to hold her ground, if Dean saw her break down he'd convince her to run away with him. And she'd be damned if she let him destroy his whole life just for her. With her head held high she turned back to her work although her soul was ripping apart inside.
The next few days were quite. Dean had been avoiding Y/n, although it hurt her to see him act so aloof but she knew it was necessary for them to maintain a distance. She saw the pain in his eyes every time he walked by or how avoided looking at her whenever they discussed work. She saw his hand wrapped in bandages and refrained from reprimanding him for hurting himself. She reminded herself that it wasn't her place anymore to say anything to him. Besides she was partly the reason he was hurt.
Y/n was engrossed in a mountain of reports at her desk when Rachel stepped out of the elevator with an air of confidence that made Y/n's skin crawl. She could practically feel the tension crackling in the air. Rachel was wearing that smug smile again, the one that said she was about to stir the pot.
"Y/n!" Rachel chimed, her tone almost too sweet. She placed a stack of glossy wedding magazines on Y/n's desk with a flourish. "I'm so excited to share my plans with you! I know you and Dean are close, and I could really use your insights." Y/n forced a smile, the familiar pang clawing at her chest.
"About what?"
"Oh, just some ideas for the wedding!" Rachel said, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Dean and I have been talking a lot about our future, I'm glad he's finally accepting this relationship. I thought it would be nice to get your take on some things. Another girly input you know." She faked her enthusiasm clearing trying to hurt Y/n on purpose. Rachel leaned in, her expression feigning sincerity. "I just want to make sure it's perfect for him. He's had such a complicated life, and he deserves someone who can give him stability." There was a pause as she watched Y/n's reaction, clearly enjoying the effect her words had.
"Right," Y/n said, her jaw tightening. "You're definitely the one to provide that."
Rachel tilted her head, the smile never leaving her lips. "Oh, yes I am! I know you two had a... unique connection. But let's be honest, he needs someone like me who can really support him in his career. I wouldn't want him to get distracted."
Y/n felt her stomach twist at the thought, but she forced herself to smile. "Sounds... about right, Rachel." As Rachel continued to chat on about floral arrangements and guest lists, Y/n's mind raced. She felt trapped in a web of tension, with Rachel deliberately playing mind games and tugging at the threads of her heart. Her heart was pounding in her ears and she felt the need to throw up but she held it in.
"Just let me know if you think of any other ideas," Rachel said, her tone dripping with faux sincerity as she got up to leave. "I really value your input. After all, it's not every day you get to help plan a wedding, right?"
As Rachel walked away, Y/n felt the weight of her words settle heavily in the room. She turned back to her desk, the bright magazine covers staring back at her like a mockery. She buried her face in her hands for a moment, battling the swirling emotions, frustration and hurt colliding within her.
Dean walked out of his office to head to his meeting, his gaze landed onto Y/n clenching and unclenching her hands on the table top, her eyes fixed onto the magazines that littered on her desk. He could see hear breathing harshly and the tears pooling her waterline. He wanted to reach forward and kiss her tears away. He wanted to hold her and throw those stupid magazines out of the window. His jaw clenched as he held back. It should've been them, it should've been their wedding, their plans. He cleared his throat gaining her attention. She looked up at him with an emotionless expression on her face.
"Mr. Winchester." She cleared her throat, ignoring the lump that had formed. The tremble in her voice was obvious to them both.
"May I ask Miss. L/n, why is your desk littered with magazines instead of the reports you're supposed to be working on?" Dean asked, his tone was professional but gentle at the same time.
"I'm sorry, sir." She paused when Dean made a sound at her calling him 'sir'. He hated it with a passion and she knew it too. "Miss Rachel wanted me to help her plan the wedding." She replied looking at him. She wished she didn't know him well enough to read his face, but she did. He was crumbling on the inside, but at the same time anger surged through him, a dark haze clouded his vision.
"This is a real estate company Miss L/n, not a wedding planning service. Next time Rachel asks you do something like that, you inform me!" He said sternly. "Nevermind. I'll let her know myself." He spoke through gritted teeth. She nodded biting her lip, the lip that Dean wanted to pull between his own. He dismissed those thoughts and went on his way to his meeting.
"Fuck my life." Y/n whispered dropping onto her chair. "You made this decision for the both of you, you don't have anyone else to blame, Y/n." She mumbled to herself.
"I knew you were crazy but talking to yourself takes the cake, darling." She heard a voice say and she looked up to see Castiel standing in-front of her. She said his name in a soft whisper. He gave her a once over and his face morphed into a sympathetic expression.
"De-" she cleared her throat. "Mr.Winchester is in a meeting."
"I'm not here to see him." He said leaning over and placing both his palms on her desk. “I’m here to see you. C’mon, let’s go somewhere to talk.” He offered, he could see her debating so he added. “If it’s about not leaving work, you know I can deal with it.” She nodded her head gently and wrapped her work while he went to Dean’s office and wrote something on a sticky note and stuck it to Dean’s monitor. Castiel offered his arm to Y/n and she took it gladly, finding some sort of comfort in the presence of her friend.
Dean came back from his meeting and his brows furrowed at the absence of Y/n at her desk. Her bag was gone and the usual clutter on her desk was clean as if she was done for the day. He made his way inside his office and dropped on his desk chair, his gaze landed on the note stuck to the screen.
Took your girl out. Will try to convince her to change her mind! -Cas

Rain to his Fire (Modern! Daemon Targaryen x Female Reader) (Non Canon 80s Au) (18+)
Read Chapter 13 here// Series Masterlist
Chapter 14
Summary: Daemon moves on in his life with Caroline. Or he tries.
Warning: 18+, kidnapping, assault, smut, crude language, kidn description of Statutory rape, discussion of mental health (it's a fic based in a mental health facility), mention of child molestation, mention of physical assault, the fic would contain several mentions of several disorders like mpd, did etc, if something triggers you don't read, smoking
It's been more than six months since you had a conversation with Daemon. A proper, private conversation between just you two and you missed him, you missed how he spoke to you when it was just you and him. You missed how he used to make you feel so lively and awake.
When he finally took you to the city, Daemon had made you swear that you would never vanish from his life. He had also vowed to always be present in yours, that you two would remain in each other's life but that wasn't easy for you. Disappearing on him wasn't an option because you were seeing him in court for Viserys's trial but that was a long process and as much as you despised going through this ordeal it was a necessary evil.
Caroline accompanied him during every session in the court, looking at them together you couldn't really tell what their relationship was like, was it the same as you and Daemon? Or perhaps Even better? You had your bets on better, you were just some woman in his life that he met by chance while she was born for him, a half of his own, it had to be better
Then why didn't he look happier?
Despite his best efforts to reach out to you after every court session, you struggled to face him. The tension was so intense that you had the urge to fall to your knees in front of him and pour out your heart but your inability to move on from him held you back. And so, you resorted to making excuses and avoiding him altogether, allowing a rift to form between you two.
As Daemon sat there in formal attire, he resembled an angel, casting an otherworldly aura around him which made sense knowing who he was. To protect his identity, he was forced to publicly accept that he was delusional and had been so basically all his life. As a result, Viserys found himself in a difficult situation, unable to contradict Daemon's claims, as it would warrant him a one-way ticket to the psych ward. Dracosapiens didn't really exist for the world and that's how it had to be.
Caroline had also testified against Viserys that he was exploiting her in the name of treatment at the center. And then you remembered that they had sex which made you wonder if Daemon was bothered by the knowledge of his brother using his soulmate like that.
King's landing wasn't shut down because there were no allegations towards the other doctors, you got the opportunity to go back and get your belongings, most of all you wanted to take that apology feather Daemon had presented to you and the locket as well, the one that belonged to his ancestors. Upon your arrival, you couldn't help but visit Room 393, the room that had forever changed your life. You didn't want to cry but as soon as you entered the room you broke down and cried until tears refused to come out.
You missed him. And you needed him more than you needed to breathe, the passing of time wasn't making it any easier as you had hoped.
.......
“Hey” Caroline whispered as she embraced him from behind, he was staring outside the window as usual, he didn't enjoy the city life, a part of him always wanted to disappear in the wilderness. With you.
“You're back early today” he said as he stepped away from her to approach his reading table. He had severe trouble landing a job due to his stint at the mental health facility and the ongoing court drama but he had finally found a teaching job at the local school.
“Yeah slow day at the hotel” Caroline let out an exasperated sigh as she removed her coat, seemingly exhausted.
“Mmm” he hummed in response as he sat down to prepare the test paper for tomorrow. He really was trying with Caroline, he was trying really hard. Because that's what you wanted him to do, you wanted him to try and find his happiness with the person he was destined to spend his life with.
That day even though you had promised him that you'd not disappear out of his life he knew he was going to lose you completely. You didn't even want to look him in the eye, let alone have a conversation with him.
That unfateful day, after making sure you had a place to live in the city he went back to the cabin and stayed cooped up in solitude there until cops arrived to gather his statement against Viserys. And afterwards even though he didn't really wish to, he went to see Caroline and explained to her about the book, her lack of astonishment at the revelation surprised him in response.
She then told him that the reason she had been so restless all her life was because she felt so incomplete without him, that's why she moved from partners to partners, fucked anyone in the hope to scratch that itch with in her and gain some relief but nothing worked, nothing brought her peace until she cosmically ran into him at King's landing wellness center.
“Daemon??” He revered out of his thoughts as she called his name.
“Yeah sorry ..what?” He asked her so she walked towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Did you even listen to anything I said?” She asked as she began to pepper kisses on his neck.
“Yes?” he answered nonchalantly.
“Mmmm i have missed you all day” she whispered seductively, she was a sexual person in nature, so was he, but for some reason with Caroline it just didn't fit even though she was everything a man could ever want in a woman.
“Carol ..I have to work okay” he told her, hoping that she'd leave him alone.
“Fineee” she grumbled a little before she pulled away from him and stepped into the shower, he couldn't help but sigh deeply as soon as she was out of his sight.
He liked Caroline, alot, and in the past months he had grown to care deeply about her, they were very compatible together, she read the same type of books and watched the same type of movies as he did, she enjoyed spending time with him and she listened to him whenever he needed her.
She was also completely submissive in bed, exactly how he enjoyed it, everything else was good between them, barring the occasional tiff whenever he was being too much of himself, they had a good bond with each other and that was evident.
Then why wasn't he happier? The peace and happiness that the book promised to bestow upon him as soon as their relationship would consummate and flourish, where was it?
Why wasn't he feeling it with Caroline when he was able to do so easily with you.
Your relationship with him was anything but perfect, you annoyed him greatly at times, you argued with him like a wildcat which he hated and adored at the same time, you never allowed him to dominate you completely, that sweet little mouth always kept him on his toes even amidst the most intimate moments.
Despite every imperfection that you offered to each other, he knew you'd do anything for him, you believed in him and you were willing to be by his side even when his reality seemed like a fantasy, you were eager to accept him even if he was delusional, you risked your life just so he'd find some answers, and you sacrificed your happiness so he'd find his own in somebody else.
Caroline loved him, he knew that, she had grown to love him but she didn't love him like you did. He didn't think anybody could love him exactly the way you did.
As Caroline stepped out of the shower, Daemon walked towards her and grabbed her arm to turn her towards him.
“I'm sorry.. I'm just trying to keep the job” he apologized to her as he didn't want to make her sad or upset.
“It's not about the job though is it? You said you needed time and I am trying to be understanding but it's been months and -”
“I'm just tired..that's it” Daemon interrupted her before she could speak any further. Since the very first day he knew he didn't want to build this relationship on lies so when he had informed her about the book he had made sure to let her know that he had feelings for you, a bit of an understatement really, but he did clarify that to her that his heart wasn't in the right place at the moment and she was very understanding about it. Her only response was “We are made for each other, that is all that matters”
As they laid into the bed that night, Caroline slowly got on top of him and began to kiss him so he flipped her around and got her beneath him. She smiled as she looked at him and he returned it too but it seemed disingenuous, at times he felt as if he was betraying not just her but also himself, chasing a feeling that would never fulfill him, she curled her fingers around his neck and pulled him closer to kiss him briefly and as he pulled away he saw your face in her own for a moment.
“What's wrong?” She asked as she took his shirt off slowly.
“Nothing -”
“I want to see you like that again..how you were born to be, show me” She mumbled seductively as she sat up and kissed down from his neck to his chest.
He hasn't been able to shift, the last time he did so was when he flew you away from the cabin after you had decided for both of you that he needed Caroline in his life and not you.
“I can't right now-” he told her as he caressed her cheek and before she could insist he proceeded to kiss her.
......
The following day, while Daemon was at the school, Caroline made her way to a nearby restaurant. Upon entering the smaller establishment, she removed her glasses and gestured for you to come speak with her as she saw you attending the tables.
This wasn't really your dream job but you were trying to get by at the moment.
“What are you doing here?” You asked her so she sighed as she sat down.
“Does he still see you?” She got straight to the point and as much as you couldn't really stand her presence, you appreciated the candor.
“No, if I wanted to keep doing that I wouldn't let him go in the first place” you answered her so she gave you a condescending smile.
“You didn't really do anything though did you, it's not a ‘sacrifice’ on your part. On the contrary if it wasn't for you he'd not be so conflicted right now because we belong together, we were born for each other, you were just a little detour” She said to you and you couldn't help but roll your eyes. You could tell she was trying to hurt you.
“Why is he so conflicted then?” You crossed your arms as you questioned her.
“Perhaps he pities you..he thinks he's responsible for your condition”
There was a smug look on her face but you had to get back to work so you didn't really want to indulge her.
“Why are you here Caroline, i know you don't like me and the feeling is mutual trust me, but I'm not the type of person to lure a man into cheating on his girlfriend” you told her honestly and for a moment the smugness was wiped off her face, you saw a flicker of relief replacing it.
“Well, that's good i guess-”
She got up as she said that so you stepped out of her way. As you watched her walk out you couldn't help but feel worried. Was he not happy with her? She seemed utterly desperate to you, afraid even. Daemon was the type of man to make his woman feel like a princess, he wasn't very vocal about his feelings but his actions spoke on his behalf, he treated you so tenderly and lovingly, just a passing fling, so why wouldn't he do the same for his soulmate?
“Wait” you called out to her and excused yourself for a minute as you went inside the staff area and returned with a small jewelry box.
“This belongs to you i think-”
Caroline seemed confused for a moment as she grabbed the box from your hand and when she opened it she saw the necklace with the dragon mark engraved on the pendant, the Targaryen family heirloom, her eyes widened in surprise, she had heard alot about the necklace and had seen the pictures as it was being used in Viserys's trial against Tanya’s murder but Daemon never told her that he had given it to you.
When Daemon came back home that night he found Caroline in the kitchen, humming a tune and cooking, a smile escaped his lips so he approached her.
“Since when do you cook?” He asked her so she gave him a smile before she jumped into his arms and kissed him.
“Since I realized that I need to keep my man fed” he chuckled as she said that but then his eyes drew towards the necklace on her neck and his mood soured immediately.
“Where did you get that?” He asked her as calmly as he could even though the anger was building up gradually.
“What's wrong?’” she asked as she sensed the shift in his tone
“I'm just asking a question, where did you get that Caroline?” he asked again, his voice a bit more stern this time.
“I don't know, it was outside our door when I came home -” she tried to lie but he put a stop to it immediately.
“Don't lie..don't think for a second that you can get away with lies” he chuckled sarcastically and she was hurt by the sudden change in his demeanor.
“Fine..but this should have been mine, why didn't you give it to me?” she asked him, her own voice laced with anger now.
“That's not the answer to my fucking question” he said as he ran his fingers through his hair to calm down.
“I saw her today..she gave it to me" she said “Why didn't you give it to me, this belongs to me?”
“Does it huh? Just how I belong to you because it says so in the book?”
Her eyes welled up as he admitted that the only reason he was even trying with her was because of predestination and not because he truly felt that connection with her as she did.
“Keep it” she took out the locket and walked towards him to thrust it into his palm before she stormed into their room. Daemon was too angry at the moment to go console her, he was furious with you and he wanted to go see you to give you a piece of his mind.
That evening as you were finally done with your shift you changed out of your work dress and stepped out of the restaurant, this wasn't exactly what you wanted to do with your life, at times you missed working at King's landing even though you were definitely oblivious to the nefarious activities of Viserys in those two years, life before Daemon was quiet and less chaotic. Funnily enough you seemed to revel the chaos Daemon had brought into your life.
As you made your way out of the door you look ahead in front of you only to find Daemon glaring back at you.
“Hey” you mumbled an awkward greeting as you didn't really know what to say. You had a feeling why he was there.
“This was a gift” he told you as he raised his fist up and opened it slowly to reveal the necklace.
“Yes and i returned it to its rightful owner”
“You don't get to decide who's going to wear my mother's jewelry” he said to you so you shook your head in the blatant way he was choosing to ignore the history of the necklace.
“It's not just your mother's though is it? It's older than that, it belongs to your soulmate, Caroline deserves to have it the same way your mother and grandmother did”
His eyes were burning with tears and anger at the response, you sounded so cold that even your own voice gave you chills.
“What did I do wrong to you y/n? All I ever wanted was to ..take care of you and have you by my side” he spoke softly, voice riddled with pain.
“I'm not supposed to be by your side Daemon” you responded weakly so he chuckled in response.
“You didn't want to be..this was an easy way out for you was it not? Life with me seemed complicated in the real world so you gave up on us at the first chance you got”
That hurt, it really did but maybe you deserved it for breaking his heart like that.
“You know why I did it -”
“No don't give me that y/n..Fuck that..you didn't even care to ask what I wanted, who did I want..none of you did, you just decided it for me” he stepped closer to you with every word he spoke and you wanted to step away but your feet were glued to the ground. His scent paralyzed you and his words pricked your broken heart. “You promised me that we'd stay in touch but you don't even look at me whenever we are faced with each other as if I never meant anything to you” you shook your head as he said that “You were just looking out for yourself weren't yo-?”
“Stop..Don't say that please” you spoke as tears welled your eyes “I just wanted you to be happy.. i can't want you to be happy with your soulmate and be in your life at the same time. I can't be your friend and watch you love someone else Daemon. Is that so hard for you to understand? You think I'm selfish? While you found your soulmate I'm the one who's all alone here, I am the one who has no one to hold or love or care for”
As you broke down in tears Daemon wrapped his arms around your shoulders to pull you into a hug, his own tears refusing to stay at bay.
He held you like that until you got yourself out of his embrace and stared at him, pleading with him with your eyes to not make this more difficult than it already was.
“Maybe you two just need more time” you mumbled stoically, the emotions you had poured slowly fading from your voice.
“You're right..we do need more time” he agreed with you but he wasn't really talking about him and Caroline.
“Let me walk you home, it's late” you sighed as he said that before you began to walk side to side with him.
“I can manage ..I have a pepper spray and a knife in bag”
He chuckled as you said that so seriously as if you weren't just crying your eyes out a few moments ago.
“What if the assailant grabs your bag first?” he asked you so you sighed.
“Then I'd have no choice but resort to physical violence” He shook his head again as you said that. God He missed you.
Just to be able to talk to you this way was making him feel better than he had felt in the past 6 months.
As your apartment arrived you looked at him for a moment as if you had plenty to say but couldn't really find your words.
“Daemon?”
“Hmm”?
“What's it like having a soulmate?” you asked him softly so he thought about it for a moment.
“It's like having a friend that you can count on for life” he responded sincerely, Caroline was his friend and always will be but he couldn't bring himself to feel more for her.
“I'm glad you have that..you deserve it” you said before you turned around to go inside and he sighed deeply.
“You're so stupid y/n”
He muttered under his breath so you looked back at him.
“Mmm..you said something?”
He walked towards you and cupped your cheeks to kiss your forehead, his lips lingered for a few moments before he forced himself to pull away, he then wrapped the necklace around your neck and clasped the latch.
“Daemon I can't keep it -”
“Shhhh.. it's yours because I said so”
The look in his eyes compelled you to not argue with him any further. What you saw in them for you wasn't pity, but love. It's been months, how did he still have those feelings for you? You were just some woman he had known for a few months, he had been with Caroline longer than he was with you now so how come he wasn't madly in love with his own soulmate?
As he went home that night he found Caroline on the bed crying, he didn't want to hurt her but he had to be honest with her because he couldn't go like this forever.
He sat down next to her and held her hand to comfort him but she pulled away.
“She is a thirty old Virgin isn't she?” His ears perked up as she said that. It came out of nowhere.
“What? Why would you say that?”
“Come on Daemon.. everyone gossiped in King's Landing, it was as if men were untouchable for her until you arrived” he was offended for sure, her words were meant to mock you and he didn't take lightly to it but then she said something that had his curiosity piqued “Even her mother worried about her”
“How do you even know that?” He asked her strictly as he stared at her and he could tell she was nervous all of a sudden as if she had spilled something she shouldn't have.
“Just something Viserys said when we had sex-”
His jaw clenched as she said that, she often reminded him that his brother fucked her, perhaps to make him jealous but he didn't really feel jealous, not really.
“Why were you two discussing a simple custodian minding her own business?”
“We were not..he was rambling about you..I think he knew who I was because of the book and he knew I liked you, so he was trying to rile me up against y/n..at that time i didn't know he was your brother so I thought that he was just frustrated about his job”
Daemon sighed as she said that, it brought back the suspicion he had regarding him and your mother. Why would he know so much about your personal life unless your mother talked about you and why would she talk about you with him unless she had some sort of personal relationship with him?
“I'm giving you a free night”
Caroline spoke again, making him snap out his thoughts while he was in the middle of connecting the dots.
“What?” his brows furrowed as he questioned her.
“Go fuck her, get it out of your system, that's what holding you back isn't it?” she said nonchalantly.
“Are you fucking insane?”
“That is insane to you hah? You pining over a woman you knew for like what four months? That's not insane to you?”
“If you know about my feelings for her then you know I'd never use her like that, best part is she'd not even let me do it, she'd slap me and throw me out of her life forever” her eyes teared up as he said that, just the way he talked about you so sincerely broke her heart but she wouldn't let him go. She wasn't a fool like you.
“I don't care, I'm giving you a free pass, take it or leave it” she said to him as she approached him “Just know this, she would never be able to give you what I can.. you're stuck with me because we are destined for each other, there's nothing you can do change that”
She jabbed at him as she walked past him, he didn't blame her for feeling so possessive about him, they were soulmates after all but it was in that moment he knew why he fell so quickly for you but wasn't able to do the same for Caroline. You let him go so he'd find happiness while Caroline wanted to keep him even if he was unhappy with her.
.......
The next morning during your shift at the restaurant you saw Shyla and sighed, why was she there now? She smiled as she approached you so you returned it.
“Y/n ..how are you doing?” you looked around as she asked you.
“Great. How are you?”
“Just dealing with the trial like all of us”
You nodded as he said that, once Viserys was taken in custody, Shyla came out to police and told them he had been sexually exploiting her since she had begun working there. She also told them that he had physically assaulted her and blackmailed her to frame it on the patient residing in room 393.
“I need to get back to work. Would you like to eat something?” You asked her politely so she shook her head and sighed before she went through her bag.
“Do you know what this is?” She asked as she gave you a vial of drugs.
“It's given to patients before surgery, to relax and paralyze their muscles” You looked at her confused as she said that “It clears out of the body in like 2-3 hours so there is no trace of it anywhere in the blood” she told you but it made you even more confused.
“Succinylcholine” you read the name so she nodded but you had no clue about the usage of the drug. “What is it used for?” you questioned her, making her gulp nervously.
“Okay umm what ..why are you telling me this?”
“An overdose of Succinylcholine can be fatal, it causes rapid increase in heart rate-” she paused for a moment as if to collect her thoughts “which leads to an unwarranted heart attack even when a person is as healthy as they could be”
As soon as she said that your fist clenched around the bottle.
Viserys used women in any which way that he possibly could. Perhaps he had something to do with your mother's -
And then you remembered what Daemon had said to you-
“..with this attitude you're going to suffer the same fate as your mother..dying of a broken heart with no-one to protect you”

firsts with han jumin <3
summary: the first time you hug and kiss jumin
tags: jumin has mommy issues (me too), he's just a man in love, gender neutral reader, canon compliant, fluff just fluff
notes: ive noticed the myms fandom is starting to get more active, so i got jumin brainrot and made this, i could make a nsfw second part for this if you guys want anyway
the first time you hug jumin is after the party. you wrap your arms around his waist and hold him close to you without letting go. jumin is so warm, the way his body immediately reacts to your touch and relaxes upon embrace. his heart is beating faster and faster with each passing minute and jumin can't help but smile at your affection. but jumin has never really liked hugs or anyone touching him in fact. his father was never really around him when he was a child and some part of him wondered why even though deep in his heart, he knew why. his birth mother only left a deeper hole in his heart after she divorced his father. jumin never received love when he was a child and he's accepted it. yes, his father gave him gifts that he only hoped were full of love when the time was necessary but jumin never felt the love that he truly craved.
he was casted away, locked behind a door that separated him and his mother for hours at a time. the basement that held no ones presence but his and toys. he wasn't a normal child, at least that's what he was told. no one has given him true affection up until now. he's almost expected that he'd hate affection whenever it was directed towards him. but when you wrap your arms around him and lay your head against his chest, he doesn't know what to do. he tries almost as naturally as possible to bring his arms up to hold you as well. yet you could feel the awkwardness behind his actions. you find it funny almost. you have a silver band that fits perfectly around your ring finger and a matching one on his yet jumin doesn't know how to hug you back.
you laugh softly as you tilt your head up to see the awkward love struck man. "you're going to have to get used to this." you say almost in a mocking way but your words hold no malice towards him. jumin could only laugh softly before nodding his head to your words. it's only been a few seconds yet jumin never wants to leave your embrace.
the first time you kiss jumin is right before you leave his penthouse for the first time. jumin kissed you on the first morning of you staying there in front of sarah, yet you had no time to react nor kiss him back. your mind was hazy, should he really be kissing you while elizabeth was still missing? should his soft lips really be on yours in front of sarah, when you could've sworn you were just a friend. yet when v comes to take you home, you stood in front of jumin, your hands reaching forward to grab his. "even when you're still standing in front of me, i miss you." jumin whispers as if he wanted no one but you to hear. "ill miss you too." you say quietly even though you were going to see each other again in less than 24 hours.
jumin is scared that if he touches you more, he won't be able to let you go. that maybe he'll just send v away, tell him that you might as well stay here with him. jumin will excuse it as the potential of danger but he's trying to convince himself more than anyone else. his head is still tied in knots but when he feels your lips on his, there's a moment of tranquility in his brain. where peace takes over, there's only sounds of ocean waves crashing, birds chirping, the sound of your voice calming down his rushing heart. jumin can't help but close his eyes and just hope this moment never ends. he feels your lips moving against his very gently as if he was a fragile glass flower. jumin almost feels guilty, his heart is racing and he feels fragile in your touch but shouldn't he be making you feel that way? as soon as his eyes flutter open, you pull away slowly and smile up at him. if jumin didn't know any better, he would've collapsed on the floor. the dramatic fall that he saw so many times in soap operas. you were so pretty, enough to make him fall in love with you even more than he already was. his heart is beating against his chest even harder now and it only took one look from you.

Necessary Steps
Shiva x Daughter! Reader
Shiva lounged sleepily in his garden; his wives were doing their own activities in the various parts of his home in the heavens. His children were all out and about as well, aside from one exception. Resting on Shiva's chest was his youngest child, his baby girl. She was always with him; the little girl was quite attached to her father and some days no one could calm her but him. (Y/n) wasn't usually too fussy, so the days that she would have her fits were met with patience and usually compliance from the large god's end. Shiva knew when to discipline his children, but when he looked at her chubby little cheeks, he felt like there wasn't any particular reason he had to leave her home that day. Of course, the other gods knew better than to comment on him carrying the baby girl about Valhalla, he was more than willing to throw 3 out of 4 hands if he felt particularly embarrassed. Today hadn't been one of (Y/n)'s fussy days though, instead it was a quiet and slow day. When Shiva found his baby girl playing alone in her room, he decided it was nap time. So, he had been quick to scoop her up, bringing her outside to enjoy the weather. Of course, little (Y/n) didn't complain, all that could be heard from her were the sweet coos and giggles that soothed any stress Shiva may be carrying.
Shiva had spent a few minutes finding a safe and quiet place away from the hustle of the home as the servants went about their cleaning, once he had found a place he deemed suitable, Shiva l got them situated in the soft cool grass. He had decided to help her tucker herself out by practicing her walking, so he stood on his knees and used his hands to keep her stable and help her walk through the grass. 2 of his large hands held her sides in a gentle grip, he treated all his kids with a gentle hand but (Y/n) was just so small he couldn't help but treat her like porcelain. His other 2 hands hovered close, letting her tinier hands grip onto his fingers as he allowed her to lead him where she wanted to go. Though it didn't take long for her to decide to simply sit down and play with her father's massive hands, the tiny girl babbled away while squeezing and tugging on his fingers. This went on for a while, Shiva quietly playing with his daughter in this solitary corner of the garden. "Such a bright little soul you are princess, papa's gonna be kicking all kinds of butt when you get older." He chuckled while gently poking her cheek, his grin widening as she giggled and swatted at his hand. When she finally yawned, he felt his shoulders relax, he had earned his nap for the day. Carefully he lifted her into his arms and lowered himself backwards, large and muscular frame resting on the cool grass as a soft tiny form was nestled against the firm muscle of her father's chest. The little girl yawned once more, tiny eyes shutting as her pudgy cheek squished against the center of Shiva's chest. He allowed one of his large hands to rest gently over her back, more than able to cover her body with his gentle warmth.
2 of Shiva's arms crossed behind his head as the other lie across his stomach, all his eyes shut while the two of them basked in the cool warmth of the early summer day. The weather was often nice in heaven, while not immune to storms and seasons the more severe weather was far and in between. But this day in particular felt especially nice to the powerful god, as he basked in more than the sunlight. His thumb stroked along his daughter's spine, a soothing and loving gesture. Shiva loved all his wives and children dearly and fairly; he had special moments with each and every one of them that he kept close to his heart. But these moments with his youngest felt special, the other kids had never really had a preference for who had been caring for them when they were babies. But then came little (Y/n) who never failed to make Shiva feel like the most important thing in the world, she was a loving child but when it came to her father it was like no one else could compete. Even on the tough days, her love of him made him feel like he had to have done something right in the past to end up with such a child. He often compared her to sunshine, as she was pure and nonjudgemental. It didn't matter what he had done in his past, it didn't matter if he lost his temper during a meeting and threatened another god that day, nothing mattered to his baby girl because to her he was without fault. Of course, his wives and other children offered plenty of love and support, but as they get older and mature, he knows they have their own thoughts and opinions based on logic and don't always voice what they truly think of certain situations. But (Y/n) didn't have logic yet, she didn't have the independence to form of a real opinion on anything. And sometimes that soothes part of Shiva that feels shame when dealing with other adults, they saw his faults and even if they did not hold them against him, they still gave Shiva a sense of shame and made him feel judged.
So sometimes he valued his daughter's innocence and youthful ignorance, sometimes it meant the world to him that she didn't know how he could be sometimes. That she had yet to witness the parts of himself he considered shameful, he hoped she never would see that side of him. He wanted to temper himself by the time she's old enough to understand, he doesn't want to make a fool of himself and lose the innocent love she had for him. He could never say it out loud, but his youngest made him want to do better. He knew his self-control wasn't always the best and he sometimes got a little tripped up in his ego, sure he was a god but there was still a time and place for certain behaviors and despite his age he still sometimes acted like a defiant teen testing boundaries. He didn't want his daughter to end up a chaotic handful, he knew it could get dangerous for her if she ended up too much like him. So, he wanted to set a better example, the only reason the other kids weren't feral had been because of his wives. But (Y/n)'s desire to be near her father made things different, it meant she was always watching him and how he behaved. It meant he had to be more concerned with her safety than his ego, so he had to do better or risk her life and future. "You really have left me no choice… what a pain…" He sighed, looking at his sleeping baby girl with a soft grin that no one but her would ever see. It would be hard to change his tendencies, he had been set in his ways for thousands of years. But it was about time he put in the work and prove why he alone stands at the top of the Hindu pantheon; he is not only the best fighter of his pantheon but he's also the best father. And he won't let anyone forget that.

Shanks rocks up to Lucky and Buggy’s wedding
Interacts with Lucky for like a minute: “you know what, this is nice, real nice, how about instead of it being your wedding (to buggy) it becomes mine”
Got inspired, did a little drabble
Frankly, this whole situation was embarrassing. Not only had you stupidly promised your hand in marriage to a god damn clown, you had now allowed yourself to be captured by said clown. Ashamed was not a strong enough word for how you felt.
Luckily for you, you'd been able to afford yourself some time away from what is regrettably your fiance by insisting that it was traditional for the bride and groom to not see each other right before the wedding. Admittedly, you didn't care much about it, you just wanted to give yourself some time alone and a chance to escape.
This was made difficult thanks to you being stuffed in a wedding gown by a very nervous seamstress that you're 99% sure was here against her will and being locked in the dressing room once she was finished. You weren't about to give up, though. Maybe you could squeeze yourself out of the window?
The escape attempt was shot down almost immediately by a knock at your door. Without waiting for an answer, whoever it was unlocked it and let themselves in. You'd assumed it was Buggy being unable to wait to see you in the wedding gown, but instead a red haired man came in. You can't help but wonder if he's lost, his clothing looks far too casual to be wedding attire.
His smile was warm and he held out a hand to you, "It's nice to finally meet you! I never thought I'd see the day where Buggy got married."
You had no idea who this man was, but politely returned the handshake regardless. His hand was rough and calloused, he most certainly didn't lead a leisurely lifestyle. The sooner you could end this interaction and send him on his way, the sooner you could make a run for it. You laughed awkwardly, "Yeah, I never thought I'd see the day either."
The man raised a brow at your response, but didn't comment on how forced it sounded. You attempted to pull your hand away when the handshake went on for longer than you deemed necessary, but his grip was too tight. It wasn't until you pulled again, harder this time, that he realized what he was doing and let go.
Even he seemed a little startled by his own actions. He scratched the back of his head and chuckled, "Sorry about that, my crew and I were up all night getting ready for the wedding when we caught word of it. I guess I'm a little more tired than I realized." His eyes gave you a once over, fully taking in the gown you were wearing, "Oh, and you look lovely by the way, I can see why he's in such a rush to get a ring on your finger."
"Oh, thank you, that's so kind of you," your voice was borderline monotone. "Also it's fine, don't worry about it." His excuse made sense. With how many people there were that would happily end Buggy if it meant even a slightly improved chance at being with you, the wedding was rushed to say the least. You're pretty sure Buggy was actively hunting down someone to officiate the union as you spoke.
You honestly hadn't expected to see any guests here beyond Buggy's own crew, which again raised the question of: Who are you talking to?
Might as well sate your curiosity and ask, "So... Are you a friend of his?"
His brows raised and his eyes widened slightly. Were you supposed to know who he was already? Oops. He spoke up before you could wrack your brain for clues as to who he was, "I guess I shouldn't be surprised that he didn't mention me, he's always been a bit... Moody. I'm Shanks, we grew up together."
Your jaw hit the floor. Shanks? THE Shanks??? The guy that Luffy couldn't shut up about?!
"Y-Y-You're the guy that gave Luffy his hat!" You pointed at him with a shaky hand as all decorum and manners went out the window from the shock of knowing who you were talking to.
Shanks laughed loudly, "The one and only. How is that kid anyway? Seems like he's still getting himself into trouble just like the old days."
"Calling what he gets up to 'trouble' is putting it mildly," that boy can't take two steps onto an island without toppling a government. "He's great though, especially after rescuing Ace."
"I was relieved to see him get out of there safely, too. It's still a bit hard to believe that Buggy is the one who pulled it off, though."
Ah. Yeah. It was hard to believe for you, too. And even more difficult to accept just what that meant for you. You deflated as you were violently reminded of your current situation, "Yeah, I can't believe it either."
"Is everything alright? You don't seem very excited about the wedding," Shanks narrowed his eyes at you, scrutinizing your face for any hints as to why you were acting this way.
You weren't sure if confiding in him was a good idea. He clearly held a level of fondness for Buggy, so it was debatable if he would want to help you escape or keep you here. But... It's not like you had much to lose at this point.
"It's, uh, kind of a funny story. You see, I might've said something along the lines of 'if you save Ace, I will marry you', but like, I didn't think he'd actually be able to do it. So now I'm kinda stuck in this mess where he thinks I really meant it, but I didn't, and we're getting married in like ten minutes give or take and I don't know what to do?" You can only hope that your hastily thrown together explanation not only makes sense, but also earns you some sympathy.
Shanks lips were pursed as he stared down at you, "I did find it odd that your door was locked from the outside."
Hope sparked in your heart. In a fit of desperation, you threw yourself at Shanks and held onto him while looking into his eyes pleadingly, "Please, if you can just get me out of this room, I will really owe you one!" You're sure that the Straw Hats can't be far behind. If you can just get to the shore, they'll likely be there and ready to save you.
His hand rested on your back to keep you steady. Then, it started to gently glide up and down the exposed skin, which felt distinctly not like it was for your comfort. Horror seeped into your very core as you saw an all too familiar gleam in his eyes.
No, please, no. This can't be happening again.
"It would be a shame to let this dress go to waste... Maybe we can continue this on the Red Force? How does that sound?"
Suddenly, the door was thrown open and you saw an absolutely enraged Buggy standing in the entryway. "What are you doing here?! Get away from my wife!"
"But you aren't married yet, she could still be anybody's wife," Shanks tone was teasing but the look in his eyes was anything but.
That set Buggy off and in an instant he was throwing knives right at Shanks who dodged them with ease. You were shoved off to the side as Buggy kept trying and failing to land a hit on Shanks. While the red haired pirate was trying to engage in some witty banter, the clown was having none of it and just shrieked various insults at him.
Using the chaos of the altercation, you quietly slipped out of the room and made a run for it. There wasn't a chance in hell that you were going to stick around to see who won that fight. Because either way, you would be losing.

Hello! I love your Karl’s fic, I never knew I needed one! They did my man so wrong anyways, while reading it I got an idea I don’t know if you could work with it?
Karl’s wife left him, the second biggest love lost of his life. The first one was the girl (reader) he met when he was younger (mid 30s) and before meeting his now ex-wife, a young medicine student could be the daughter of one of his business partner or personal doctor, she was 20 and he was almost 40 so he thought better of it, he let her go, pursue her dreams and married a man her age. One day he gets really bad and she’s send to his house to help him, I don’t know I want something fluffy and happy ending for him🥹
Title: The Promise of Tomorrow
Summary: You reappear in his life in a way he didn't expect.
Pairing: Karl Hoffmeister × Fem! Reader
Warnings: Angst and Fluffy.
Author's Notes: Hey, hello! Thank you very much for your request. I hope it is to your liking. I agree with you; our man deserves a happy ending.
Also read on Ao3
First and Second part here.
As you stand before Karl Hoffmeister, his new personal doctor, you can't help but feel a surge of nostalgia mingled with apprehension. The years have been kind to him, his rugged features weathered by time but still exuding an air of quiet strength and authority. It's been a long time since you last saw him, back when you were just a young medical student caught in the whirlwind of ambition and desire.
But now, as you meet his gaze, you see something flicker behind his steely exterior, a hint of vulnerability that wasn't there before. It's strange to think that this man, once so powerful and unattainable, now relies on you for his care and well-being.
Karl's eyes linger on you for a moment longer than necessary, and you can't help but wonder if he remembers the intensity of the feelings you once shared. But then his gaze shifts away, and you're left to grapple with the weight of the past and the uncertainty of the present.
As you begin your examination, Karl's stoic facade crumbles ever so slightly, revealing the depth of his pain and loneliness. His health may be failing, but it's clear that his wounds run much deeper than the physical. And as you listen to his heart, you can't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the man who once held your heart in his hands.
But then, just as quickly as it appeared, the vulnerability vanishes, replaced once again by Karl's trademark reserve. He thanks you curtly as you finish your examination, his voice gruff but tinged with a hint of something else, something you can't quite place.
As you finished writing the prescription, you sensed Karl's gaze lingering on you. His eyes studied you with a mixture of curiosity and something else, something you couldn't quite decipher. Ignoring the intensity of his stare, you handed him the paper, explaining the dosage and precautions he would need to take.
Karl took the prescription from your hand, his fingers brushing against yours briefly, sending a jolt of electricity coursing through your veins. But before you could dwell on the sensation, he spoke, his voice gruff but tinged with a hint of warmth.
"You haven't changed a bit," he remarked, his gaze meeting yours as he spoke. "Still as confident and composed as ever."
You paused, surprised by his observation, before offering a playful smile. "And you still have that ridiculous mustache," you quipped, unable to resist teasing him.
Instead of taking offense, Karl chuckled softly, the sound filling the room with warmth. "Some things never change," he admitted, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled at you. "But I suppose that's what keeps life interesting."
You smiled back at him, grateful for the ease with which you could banter with him, even after all these years. But then, a somber thought crossed your mind, and you couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for him.
"My father told me what happened," you said softly, your voice tinged with regret. "I'm sorry, Karl. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for you and little boy."
Karl sighed, his expression softening as he nodded in understanding. "Your father was always a gossip," he replied with a wry smile. "But thank you. It's been a challenging time, but we're managing."
As you looked at Karl, his rugged features softened by the flickering light of the room, you couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for the man he had become. Despite the hardships he had faced, he still exuded a quiet strength and resilience that was undeniably compelling.
As Karl settled himself more comfortably on the bed, his gaze softened, and he looked at you with a mix of curiosity and something deeper, something that hinted at the years of longing and missed opportunities. His back rested against the headboard, his posture relaxed yet still exuding an air of authority.
"So, what about you?" Karl's voice broke the silence, his German accent adding a touch of familiarity to the question. "What have you been up to all these years?"
You met his gaze, feeling a rush of emotions flood back as memories of your time together as young, ambitious individuals surfaced. "Well, after medical school, I dove headfirst into my career," you began, your voice steady despite the flood of memories threatening to overwhelm you. "Marriage and children just didn't fit into the equation. I was too focused on my work, too driven to make a difference in the world."
Karl listened intently, his eyes never leaving yours as you spoke. There was a hint of surprise in his expression, as if he hadn't expected you to have remained single all these years. But beneath the surprise, there was something else, something that spoke of unspoken desires and long-buried emotions.
"I never imagined you'd end up as my personal doctor," Karl admitted, his voice tinged with a mixture of disbelief and something else, something you couldn't quite place. "But I suppose life has a way of surprising us."
You nodded in agreement, unable to shake the feeling of deja vu that hung in the air between you. "Life certainly has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs," you agreed, a wistful smile playing at the corners of your lips.
As you sat there, bathed in the soft glow of the bedside lamp, a comfortable silence settled over the room, broken only by the occasional creak of the floorboards beneath Karl's weight. And in that moment, surrounded by memories of the past and uncertainty of the future, you couldn't help but wonder what might have been if circumstances had been different, if fate had led you down a different path.
But then Karl spoke again, his voice trembling slightly with vulnerability, as if he were baring his soul for the first time in years. "I have to confess something," he began, his gaze searching yours for any sign of understanding or forgiveness. "You were the first love of my life."
The weight of his words hung heavy in the air, and you felt a surge of emotion rise within you, a mixture of surprise, regret, and something else, something that you couldn't quite name. Karl's confession caught you off guard, stirring memories long buried beneath the surface of your consciousness.
"I wished for you with an intensity that frightened me," Karl continued, his voice barely above a whisper as he laid bare his innermost thoughts and feelings. "Ever since your father introduced us, I couldn't shake the feeling that you were meant to be a part of my life."
The revelation stunned you, and for a moment, all you could do was sit there in silence, grappling with the enormity of what Karl had just revealed. The gap in age between you suddenly felt insignificant in the face of the raw emotion that radiated from him.
"But I knew that I had no right to hold onto you," Karl confessed, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "You were a young woman with the world at your feet, and I was... an old man with too much baggage to burden you with."
His words pierced your heart, and you felt a pang of sympathy for the man who had once been so unattainable, yet now sat before you, stripped of his defenses and laid bare by illness and regret. The realization that Karl had let you go, believing it was for your own good, filled you with a sense of bittersweet longing.
"And then I met Charlotte," Karl continued, his voice tinged with sadness as he spoke of his ex-wife. "She was younger than me, full of life and laughter. I thought I had found happiness with her, but now... now I realize that I let go of the one person who truly mattered to me."
Tears welled up in your eyes as you listened to Karl's confession, the weight of his words pressing down on you like a heavy burden. The depth of his regret was palpable, and you couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for not realizing sooner the true extent of his feelings for you.
"I'm so sorry, Karl," you whispered, your voice choked with emotion as you reached out to grasp his hand in yours. "I had no idea..."
Karl's hand trembled beneath yours, his fingers intertwining with yours as he squeezed your hand gently. "It's not your fault," he replied hoarsely, his voice thick with emotion. "I should have been honest with you from the beginning. I should have fought for us."
As you sat there, hand in hand with Karl, the weight of his confession hanging heavy in the air between you, you couldn't help but wonder what might have been if circumstances had been different, if fate had given you both a second chance at love.
You squeezed his hand tighter, the warmth of his touch reassuring you that perhaps it wasn't too late for the two of you. "If you had asked, Karl," you admitted, your voice trembling with emotion, "I would have said yes in a heartbeat."
Karl's eyes widened in surprise at your confession, his lips parting slightly as if he were at a loss for words. But before he could respond, you pressed on, needing to express the depth of your feelings for him that had remained buried for far too long.
"I loved how good and generous you were with everyone," you confessed, a wistful smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "And I admired how you never scolded me for my boldness, how you always met my challenges with patience and understanding."
As you spoke, memories of your spirited debates with Karl flooded back, the thrill of matching wits with him still fresh in your mind after all these years. "I loved it when we argued," you admitted with a soft laugh, "because you were the only one who could keep up with me. I never felt more alive than when I was with you."
Karl's expression softened further at your words, a hint of nostalgia flickering in his eyes as he remembered the fiery exchanges the two of you had shared. "I often wondered what it would be like to be with you all the time," you confessed, your voice barely above a whisper as you laid bare your innermost thoughts and desires. "To wake up next to you every morning, to share our lives together..."
But then, as if sensing the weight of your words, Karl pulled away slightly, his expression clouded with a mixture of regret and sadness. "I'm so sorry, my dear," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. "I never meant to hurt you."
You reached out to cup his cheek, the rough stubble beneath your fingertips a tangible reminder of the man you had once loved with all your heart. "It's not your fault, Karl," you assured him, your voice filled with warmth and understanding. "We were both young, and life had other plans for us."
For a moment, the two of you sat there in silence, the weight of your unspoken words hanging heavy in the air between you. But then, with a hopeful look, you told Karl that you still want, even after all these years, he is the only man you ever wanted to marry. The admission hung in the air, heavy with the weight of years of unspoken feelings and missed opportunities.
Karl hesitated, his brow furrowing with indecision. "No," he finally said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I can't do that to you. I'm sick, and I have a young son. I can't throw those responsibilities on you."
You reached out to him, your hand finding his cheek, your touch gentle yet filled with determination. "Karl," you insisted, your voice unwavering. "I know what I want, and it's you. I don't care about your illness or your son. I want to be with you, no matter what."
Karl stopped himself, his gaze searching yours for any sign of doubt or hesitation. "I... I don't know what to say," he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. "I never expected..."
But before he could finish his sentence, you leaned forward, your lips meeting his in a chaste yet passionate kiss. "Shut up," you whispered against his lips, your breath mingling with his. "If you don't want me, just say so. But don't make excuses. I can handle the truth."
For a moment, Karl was silent, his eyes searching yours for any sign of doubt or hesitation. And then, with a trembling sigh, he leaned in closer, his lips meeting yours in a kiss that spoke of years of longing and regret.
As you kissed him, you felt the warmth of his embrace envelop you, the intensity of his desire matching your own. In that moment, you knew that you had rekindled the flame that had once burned so strong between you, a flame that had never truly died despite the passage of time.
As you pulled away, breathless and exhilarated, you saw in Karl's eyes the reflection of your own desires, the silent acknowledgment of a love that had endured against all odds. "I want you," he whispered hoarsely, his voice filled with longing. "Oh, how I want you... But my son..."
You interrupted him, gently placing a finger on his lips to silence his protest. "Karl," you said softly, your voice filled with determination, "Otto is a part of you, and I love every part of you."
You reached out to take Karl's hand in yours, intertwining your fingers with his as you met his gaze with unwavering sincerity. "I promise you, I will love Otto as if he were my own son," you vowed, your voice steady despite the emotions swirling within you. "I will take care of him, protect him, and cherish him just like I will cherish you."
Karl's eyes softened at your words, a mixture of gratitude and disbelief flickering in their depths. "But I can't ask that of you," he protested weakly, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's too much to ask..."
You shook your head, cutting him off before he could finish his sentence. "It's not too much to ask," you insisted firmly, your tone leaving no room for argument. "I love you, Karl, and that means loving everything that comes with you. Including Otto."
A tear slipped down Karl's cheek, his defenses crumbling under the weight of your unwavering love and support. "You're too good to me," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
You smiled gently, brushing away his tear with the pad of your thumb. "We're in this together, Karl," you reassured him, your voice filled with conviction. "No matter what happens, we'll face it together. I promise."
As you sat there, hand in hand with Karl, surrounded by the warmth and comfort of each other's embrace, you knew that no matter what the future held, you were ready to face it head-on. With Karl by your side, and now with Otto too, you felt as if nothing could stand in the way of your love.

My Only Sunshine
Helion x Valkyrie!Reader
Warnings: canon-typical violence, blood/injury, death, not proofread
Flying over the battlefield on your pegasus, you had taken to the skies along with the rest of the Valkyries to battle Koschei’s baitals. He’d sent the vampiric creatures as reinforcements among his air forces, the bony monsters searching the grounds below for dying bodies to possess on the battlegrounds.
An ear-piercing shriek echoed through the air as you cut down a baital, watching as its lifeless body fell to the ground. What you saw below caused you to do a double-take - Helion was battling off four soldiers as he clutched a wound on his side, another baital circling above him, waiting for him to be struck dead. The scene shot horror through you, and without thinking you steered your pegasus toward the ground.
You leapt off the steed to allow it time to swoop back up to the skies, and you rolled gracefully to land on the ground. Your eyes scanned the line of soldiers ahead of you as you drew up your sword in defense. Charging through the battlefield, your focus was only on getting to Helion by whatever means necessary.
You could not afford the time to think of what might happen to your mate - the beautiful and kind male fighting bravely ahead of you - if he did not make it out of this battle before you confessed your feelings for him. You had known that Helion was your mate since the first time you met him, when the Valkyries began training with his pegasus.
You fell for him quickly, his playful and joyous nature bringing a light to your life you didn’t realize you had needed - and you watched as the sun to your moon began to fade.
With a scream of fury, you unleashed yourself upon the soldiers, leaping into the air with a supernatural strength to cut down the baital that was circling overhead. You landed in front of Helion, his shocked eyes focused on you as you checked his wound. You panted out, “we have to get you to a healer, Li,” just in time for him to look behind you, pure fear flashing across his features.
You turned, seeing only a blur of a creature aiming an ash arrow at Helion before you dove in front of him, a searing pain permeating through your body as though it coursed through every vein. A single tear fell from your cheek as Helion caught you, his eyes lining with tears while he held your head in his broad hand and whispered, “why?”
The last words you were able to breathe out as you held your hand to Helion’s cheek were, “my mate,” before the world faded to black.
~~~
Your pegasus had never kicked you in the head, but you imagined that how you currently felt would be quite a similar feeling. Overcome with thirst and an aching body all over, you groaned at the pain that accompanied merely attempting to open your eyes.
You could feel the soft mattress beneath you, silk sheets cool against your stiff muscles as you further awoke from what must have been a deep sleep. Shock overtook your system as you recalled your latest memories of the battlefield and Helion being in danger, and you jolted upright with panic.
Your body did not respond well to the sudden movement, and you yelled out in pain as a blinding pain in your ribs took your breath away. The sound of someone fumbling awake accompanied your gasps for air, and suddenly familiar warm hands were on your back and chest, easing you to lay back down on the mattress.
You looked up to see Helion in a state of disarray you could never have imagined for him, and your heart ached seeing him in pain. You tried to croak out words, choking on the dryness of your throat. Helion quickly grabbed you water, gently propping you up against the pillows as he helped you drink until you were satisfied.
Before you could attempt to get out the words you wanted to, however, Helion took your hand in his and squeezed, taking a deep breath as he seemed to struggle for words since the first time you had met him. Without words from him, you felt his emotions as though they were your own, and you realized - you were feeling him through the bond.
He must have sensed your emotions as well, his eyes showing a glimmer of hope that had been missing since you’d awoken. He brought your hand to his lips and kissed it. “My mate,” Helion whispered as he stared at you in adoration. “I’ve always been awed by you, but I wouldn’t have dreamed to have been blessed to have a female like you as my mate until the bond snapped for me, when you-“
His voice broke off then, the unspoken weight of your sacrifice hanging in the air. You tilted Helion’s face to look at you as you admired his beauty. “Li, I would give my life for yours a thousand times over. I was lucky to be blessed with you as my mate, but you are so much more than that to me. You are a great male, a great leader, and you make the world a better place. I love you, not because you are my mate, but because you are you, Li.”
A tear made its way down Helion’s cheek at your words, and he laughed as he leaned down to kiss you gently, mindful of your injuries. Bending down to nip at your ear, Helion practically growled as he whispered, “heal quickly, my love, because I have a list of ways I will replace your pain with pleasure... for the rest of our lives.” You giggled at that, happy that your mate was feeling his flirtatious self again, and that you would spend the rest of your days with the one person who brought you the most joy.
Cocksure
Delilah had butterflies in her stomach. What if this didn't work? What if it did? After all these months. So many nights and mornings and lazy afternoons working up to this moment. To finally have what she'd always wanted. To be what she'd always wanted. To be a slave to his cock.
The anxiety would have been more than she could stand if he wasn't so damn confident. Hell, she'd have never believed it could work to begin with if he hadn't been so sure of himself. Of what he could condition her to be. And as he stood before her now, Delilah could feel it, could feel that same confidence. It was going to work exactly how he said it would. She would behave exactly as he had trained her to.
And train her he had. He started with Delilah's head of course. The commanding tone he took with her sometimes was already enough to put her in a submissive headspace, but formalizing the process with spirals, and flashing lights, and leading her methodically into deeper and deeper layers for trance until she couldn't think anymore and all she could do was listen and obey and it always felt so wonderful... Yeah, she had been a very good subject for him. She learned to drop at his command, to forget at his command, to act at his command. And she took to suggestions so easily when he took her deep, dropping her over and over again.
When he was satisfied that Delilah's mind was open for him, he began to make the necessary changes. She vaguely recalled words whispered in her ear as she fell asleep, or stirring briefly in the night agreeing with whatever her sleeping mind had been told. Then one morning he had woken her early and simply commanded that she be completely blank. The next thing she knew, she was waking up the next day. Satisfied with her progress, he moved on to the next step.
And that meant controlling her pleasure. Training her to edge. Teaching her that she could only climax with his permission. Delilah remembered the feeling of vibrators and his fingers and his tongue and his cock pressed against her and pushing inside of her. The sensation withdrawn when he decided. Getting her so close and then pulling away again, leaving her desperate and wet. And she found that the more she edged for him, the more powerful trance felt, the more suggestible she became. He began training her when she was right on the edge, telling her open and vulnerable mind new truths that it readily absorbed.
Delilah felt the flush in her face remembering that beautiful torture. The way he held her right where he wanted her. And he knew that she wouldn't fall over that edge. She couldn't. He was in control. And that confidence always made her so wet. And now, staring up at him, she saw the certainty in his face. He knew what was going to happen, so Delilah knew it would happen exactly as he wanted it to. She wondered briefly when she had fallen to her knees. It must have been since he came into the room, but she didn't remember him saying anything. And then his hands moved to unbuckle his belt, and that was the only thought in her head.
That had been the most exciting part of the training for her. Learning to respond directly to his body. Followed closely by her training to orgasm at his command. Satisfied that she couldn't find release without his permission, he had decided to take complete control of her pleasure. That meant more edging, which just made her weaker and wetter. And more trances where her mind could just switch off and feel the pleasure he described to her. The first time he had her moaning and writhing in ecstasy while sitting calmly on the other side of the room was a memory she would always cherish.
With her pleasure under his command, it had been time to condition the response they both wanted. That meant building associations in her head and in her body. His cock meant pleasure. It meant trance. It meant desperate arousal. He would take her deep and have her stroke or suck or just stare, eyes and mind wide open. Learning him, learning his pleasure. Learning every inch, every vein, the meaning of every subtle twitch and shudder. Her empty mind absorbed that knowledge like a sponge. Took it in until it was her whole world.
Then there was the pleasure. Her body already responded to his every word, so it was easy to make her feel exactly as he desired. To feel him inside of her. Inside her mind. To double and then triple the pleasure. To let the feelings fuck her mind and her will away.
His belt was undone now. Delilah's eyes kept darting between his face and his crotch. She felt so unsure, but so hopeful. Every look up to his face reminded her that he was in control, that everything was working the way he desired. Every look down reminded her how desperately she wanted him to be right. His hands had stopped moving, hovering. Teasing at the last button that stood between her and the culmination of everything they had worked towards. She felt so desperate. But Delilah would wait, just as she had been trained.
Trained to be docile and obedient. Trained to submit. To accept him whenever and however he desired. First he would wake her from trance to the sight of him hard right before her eyes, forcing her eyes and mind to focus completely on his member. Then he would wake her from a deep sleep to the feeling of him sliding into her mouth, which in turn set off all those wonderful pleasure responses he had programmed into her, leaving her bleary eyed and eagerly sucking on him as her mind sank back down. Or resting his manhood on her face, causing her eyes to cross as they focused on him and her mouth to fall open, tongue hanging out in unconscious desire.
And then he had begun to deny her. From getting her off until she couldn't walk straight, waking her in the night to ravage her, mind and body. From overwhelming her senses with the sight and smell and feel of his dick, to nothing from one day to the next. He still dropped her, still teased her, still whispered in her ear as she drifted off to sleep. She still edged frequently and at his command. But she couldn't cum. Couldn't see him. Couldn't touch him. Couldn't taste him.
And it was in that maddening state that he had approached her today. Denied to the point where his cock was all she dreamed about, where she found herself drifting off in the middle of the day, fantasizing about the next time she could feel her hands around him. Or her lips. Or her tits.
And now he was here. It was here. It was so close, Delilah could have sworn she could smell him. Or maybe that was her own desperate arousal. Even after everything that had happened, it still didn't feel real. She couldn't believe the moment was really here. But she didn't need to believe it. He knew it, and Delilah couldn't help but be infected by his confidence. She sucked in a breath, trying to find words to share, to break the silence of this moment. But then his hand moved again, and he was exposed. Delilah's eyes widened, and then everything hit her at once. She would never be sure if her first climax had started in that moment, or if it would wait the few seconds until he commanded her touch, but right now all she knew was pleasure.
It was everything she had hoped it would be, or everything she had been brainwashed to hope it would be. He was so powerful, hanging before her eyes, that it wiped her will away. So captivating that it wiped her mind away. So beautiful, that all she wanted was to please and serve and surrender.
Delilah's mind switched off then. As it would every time from now on that she got to see or feel or taste that mesmerizing cock. It had enslaved her. And all Delilah knew was pleasure.
Author's Note: Well, this is it. The moment everyone has been waiting for. The funeral scene. I'm going to be brutally honest with y'all. It's a tough read. When I finished writing it, I had to hop into a discord voice channel with my friends to cry it out. I don't think I've ever been so emotionally invested in a character who had zero screen time. I recommend this chapter to be read with caution. Please ensure that your mental health is in a good place before reading it and take breaks if necessary. I don't want anyone to be hurt by this. It's such a terrible day for rain. As always, please enjoy 💚
With what strength Wolffe had left, he picked Cara up and walked towards the pyre. He knew it wasn't going to be easy, for either of them, but it was necessary. Cara was going to learn what death meant and there was nothing he could do to shield her from that pain, even if he wanted to. With every step he took, he felt the air leave his lungs and refuse to be replenished as a tightness encircled his chest. It squeezed him until he could barely form a thought and his brain shifted into autopilot to protect him from the anguish trying to surface.
"Mommy!" Cara gasped when her mother came into view, effectively pulling Wolffe from his mental cocoon of safety. "Look, Daddy! It's Mommy! Mommy's back! We can go home!"
Wolffe couldn't speak a word. His voice was stolen. He wanted to say something. He wanted to correct the misunderstanding, but maybe she needed to figure it out for herself, so he let her. He brought her to the side of the pyre and let her investigate. It may have looked cruel to some, but to Wolffe, it was the only way he knew to finally get through to his daughter because no one else would convince her that her mother was gone. It all was due to that same incorrigible stubborn streak his wife had passed down to her.
"Mommy!" Cara called. She reached down and shook her mother's shoulder, but there was no response, so she tried again. "Mommy, wake up. I want to go home."
As her excitement faded to confusion, Wolffe could tell the gears were starting to turn in her mind, which was fine with him, because watching his daughter try to wake up her dead mother was beating him into the ground emotionally. It's not like he could blame her. He wanted to do it, too. He wanted to shake her out of death's cold clutches and demand her to come back to him as if she died out of selfish reasons and not a random health crisis that was out of her control. No, that would make too much sense.
"Mommy?" Cara shook her mother harder, trying to rouse her from her eternal slumber with no effect. "Mommy, wake up. Daddy, why won't she wake up?"
Wolffe exhaled a ragged breath. "She's not going to wake up, baby. She's… dead."
"Why?" Cara asked, turning to look at Wolffe. "She's right here. She just needs to wake up."
"When people die, they can't wake up," Wolffe explained.
"I don't want Mommy to be dead!" Cara yelled and turned back to look at her mother. "I want Mommy to wake up!"
"I know, baby," Wolffe soothed. He hoisted her back up to rest against him and rubbed her back. "I wish she'd wake up too, but she can't."
"Mommy!" Cara cried as she tightly clutched Wolffe's uniform in her hands.
Wolffe held her as she wept, trying his best to offer her as much comfort as he could give, but he would never be able to replace her mother. He could be the best father in the galaxy, do and say all of the right things, and be there night and day for her, but he would never come close to being the mother that she needed. It wasn't in his nature. Fatherhood? A maybe at best. Motherhood? Not a chance. He didn't even want to try or pretend that he could fill his wife's shoes. She was amazing and he was not.
"Cara," Wolffe said when her cries quieted down to sniffles. "I want you to repeat something for me, okay?"
Cara sniffed, pulled her head back from Wolffe's chest, and rubbed her tear-stained eyes.
"Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc," Wolffe began. "Ni partayli, gar darasuum."
Cara did her best to imitate the words and sounds. "What's it mean?"
"I’m still alive, but you are dead. I remember you, so you are eternal," Wolffe explained. "It means that Mommy lives on forever as long as we remember her in our hearts. In our ka'rta. We make a promise to never forget her."
"I won't forget Mommy," Cara said, then she leaned against Wolffe's chest for comfort.
There was a moment of silence between them before Wolffe spoke again. "It's time to say goodbye," he whispered.
"I don't want to," Cara whined. She shifted her face to bury it into his neck.
"I know it's hard," Wolffe said while rubbing her back. "But I need you to. For mommy."
Cara pulled her reddened face out of Wolffe's neck and twisted it to peer down at her lifeless mother. It only took seconds for fresh tears to well up in her eyes. "Bye bye mommy," she said. The simple words broke what little resilience she had left and she began to sob. "Mommy," she hiccoughed. "I want mommy!"
Wolffe turned around and looked at Comet with pleading eyes. Comet took the cue immediately and stepped out of the formation to get to Wolffe's side.
"Come here, ad'ika," Comet cooed as he took Cara from Wolffe. "Let's give your Daddy some time with Mommy, okay?"
Cara nodded and continued to cry but didn't fight him, so he carried her back to the line of onlooking clones and soothed her the best he could.
Wolffe, now alone, looked down at his wife as she lay silent atop the wood pyre surrounded by a border of her favorite purple wisteria flowers not yet wilted after being cut off from their life supply. It was a beautiful touch, poetic even, he thought, but it felt like a waste for them to be burned alongside her. However, her beauty still rivaled those of the flowers she so loved, even if she did look paler than normal. He huffed at his insensitive joke, even though he was the only one who could hear it in his head, but she would've laughed.
"Ner riduur," Wolffe said sweetly while brushing the back of his knuckles down her cold cheek. "I miss you so much." Tears fell silently from his eyes as he spoke. "You weren't supposed to die before me, you know that, right? This… This is wrong. Cara doesn't need me, she needs you. She needed you…" he sucked in a shaky breath. "I would give anything to have you back in my arms. Anything. I'd sell my soul just to see you smile one more time." He went silent for a moment, trying to figure out what he wanted to say next.
"Maker, this isn't fair!" he finally exclaimed. "Why'd you leave me? I'm so angry and frustrated with you, but I don't want to be. I know it wasn't your fault. You were innocent." He paused, collecting his anger. "I'd trade places with you. Right now. Without a second thought. I'm not even a real person, but you made me feel like a real person. Like my life mattered. What am I supposed to do without you?" He shook his head. "Tell me what to do. Tell me how to raise our daughter. Please. Tell me you love me, just one more time."
The silence from his wife was deafening. He knew she was dead. He knew she wouldn't come back, and yet he waited for her to respond as if she would spontaneously come to life and answer him just because he asked her to. He sighed long and hard, resigning that there was nothing more he could do and nothing more he could say. He could ramble on for hours by her side and talk about everything and anything he could think of until his hair grayed and his own body decayed, but she would never answer him.
He leaned his forehead against hers, cupped her cheek, and whispered, "Ni su'cuyi, gar kyr'adyc. Ni partayli, gar darasuum. Maria. Ner cyare."
Wolffe lifted his forehead from hers and left a parting kiss atop both her eyelids. After a final lingering touch, he stepped back, grabbed the torch from its holder, and lowered its dancing flame to the pyre. "Goodbye, my love," Wolffe said, and the pyre ignited with a sharp whoosh, engulfing her body within its all-consuming blaze.
"Mommy!" Cara screamed when she saw the fire. She squirmed in Comet's arm, trying to break free. "It's hurting Mommy!"
Wolffe stepped back from the flames and glanced over his shoulder, unconcerned about the terrified look on his daughter's face. They taught her as early as possible what fire was and how dangerous it could be. She knew what it meant and he knew it horrified her to see her mother swallowed by its deadly red and orange colors, but he couldn't do anything about it even if he wanted to. He had nothing left to give her as he let his grief consume him for just this moment.
Comet held Cara tighter and turned her head away from the fire and into his neck. "Shh," he soothed while rubbing her back. "Don't look, ad'ika. It's gonna be okay. Mommy can't feel it."
Cara continued to cry, and her wails of anguish echoed and intertwined with the flickering flame and swirling smoke, traversing up into the evening sky. As the fire burned, all that could be heard were the cries of a distraught child and the crackling of wood. No one dared to speak a word. Wolffe stood and stared, mesmerized. He watched as his beloved wife burned while unabated tears streamed down his face. His deep cries of sorrow were muffled by his daughter's screams and the sound of roaring flames. It was over. It was done. It was finished. His wife could rest in peace now.
