Never underestimate a small act of kindness. My mom didn't think anything of it, but I think she made this ladies' day. She was older and asked about a cart and when asked if she was looking for a small cart My mom told her to take hers, but she protested and was like I didn't want to take anyone's cart! But we insisted, and she finally took it while my mom went for another She looked at me and told me "Some people are just so kind!" which just made me smile and I agreed. Proud of my moms gesture, but the women let me know that she was going to be right inside because she wanted to talk to my mom I didn't hear all the convo, but by the end the women had tears in her eyes. She was so moved by this simple act of kindness that it brought her to tears. She smiled so sweetly at us after we started to part Later, I saw her helping another woman who was older than she was. And it just warmed my heart, every time she saw us she smiled. Something that we didn't think was a big deal, was to her and I hope she got what she needed and has an amazing time In another store, someone asked for my mom's help again, but this time an employee overheard the request. And helped by grabbing one bottle while my mom grabbed another bottle of pop for her. And having someone else offer help without asking just surprised her, but she seemed to happy and thankful Seeing these people smile because someone was kind to them fills me with so much warmth. Not everything is bad in the world, people still care about one another

truly the most american thing is Big Drink. more than late stage capitalism, more than an unparalleled cultural focus on individualism, more than 9/11 jokes
what binds all americans together culturally is Big Drink
and you might be saying "is this fat shaming" or "but mayor bloomberg outlawed Big Drink in nyc" or "gays are so annoying about their iced coffee" or some other dumb comment but no open your minds, Big Drink isn't just sugary or caffeinated beverages
every day i see one of you hydration bitches (affectionate) on the train with a water bottle so big a toddler could drown in it. that too is Big Drink. we literally invented a bigger beer can (tall boy) in wisconsin in the 60s in the service of Big Drink
anyway i never feel more american then when i have Big Drink in my hands

Very interesting advancement note that I’m obviously not the first to comment on but
Tumblr media
The wording is ‘rescue’ a Ghast from the Nether, and bring it ‘safely home’. Which has always been the idea of, are Ghasts from the Nether? Was the Nether always like this; and are they so miserable because they were forced to adapt to a ruined fiery hellscape? Well, now we know that presumably when young especially, they’re liable to dry out. That if they’re rescued from being dried, they thrive in a more earthly environment. That they grow up happy when doing so. I do think that Ghasts may be from the Nether, but not from the current Nether. A much colder one, maybe more like the Overworld, maybe not. Probably a cavernous fungal paradise if I had to guess. But now they live in a world that’s been ruined by something, and turned into the human embodiment of hell, forced to spit fire just to no longer be filled with it when they’d much rather eat snow to cool down. Is it any wonder they cry?
