Yakuza Headcanons: Watching Spooky Movies
Oooooo it's the spooky season ain't it. Hello hello I rise from the grave to bring you some fresh headcanons for the season. For those with asks still in the inbox, I SEE em, just been busy with my horror movie marathon. Anyways, some headcanons below da cut to tide you over. Also welcome bouncing baby boy Ichiban to the gang!
Kiryu Kazuma
Isn't scared easily by much of anything so it's really easy to get him to watch horror movies. Mostly watches them because someone else is too scared to watch them alone. He's the person they can hide behind or who will tell them when a particularly horrifying scene is over.
Gore doesn't bother him as much as something or someone looking creepy or offputting will. Kiryu still won't get scared but he will get uncomfortable. Most of the time he just reacts by going "Ah... oh!"
Fond of the classics and will gravitate towards movies with a strong and likable protagonist. Likes The Evil Dead, Aliens, and Halloween. Directors don't matter much to him.
Majima Goro
He's a mixed bag. If a movie is well put together, then it can scare him pretty easily. He's most scared of ghost stories or paranormal things. Least afraid of slashers because he thinks he could just beat them all up.
Cannot stand jump scares. Sometimes he evens yells at his TV at home in irritation, saying things like "Oi, whaddya keep makin' loud noises for? Sheesh!"
Honestly, the weirder the movie the better. It might seem stereotypical for someone who looks and acts like Majima but he thinks the whole point of horror is to be interesting. Fond of Takashi Miike movies like Ichi the Killer, Audition, and Over Your Dead Body.
Akiyama Shun
Doesn't watch a lot of movies because he totally falls asleep during most of them. He'll at least give it a shot if you ask nicely though. Honestly more motivated by the fact you might cling to him during the scary parts than anything.
As much as Akiyama is a total ladies' man and romantic at heart, he always laughs whenever characters start being intimate during horror movies. He makes jokes out of it, saying things like "Babe, would you still love me if we were in a spooky movie?"
Movies with a good soundtrack actually help him stay awake. Jump scares annoy him though because if he falls asleep, the noise makes him panic. Fond of monster movies or movies about animals like Jaws, Shin Godzilla, and The Host.
Saejima Taiga
Genuinely not scared of a single darn thing. If you want to watch it, he's down to give it at least a try. He might nod off if he's tired or bored, but he tries his best not to. Horror comedy is okay with him too although he might not get all the jokes.
Most of the time he sits with his arms crossed, paying full attention. He's kind of funny in that he makes noises like "Heh" or "Hmph" when a character is caught off guard by something. Makes an occasionaly "Tsk" sound at jump scares. Otherwise he's not reactionary.
Particularly fond of slashers, probably because those usually have villains that are actually kind of his size. He enjoys the Friday the 13th series, particularly Jason X.
Tanimura Masayoshi
Type of guy to be like "Ooh let's watch this, I heard it's really scary" and then proceed to either get scared out of his wits or say something like "Wait, that's ALL?" at the end. Bases most of his movie choices off of other people's recommendations since he's usually too busy to randomly go see however many movies he wants to.
Doesn't really like horror that's super in your face. Gets more scared by the tension itself than anything. Always has movie snacks on hand.
Found footage is probably his most favorite type of horror. Likes The Blair Witch Project, Noroi, and REC. Fond of director Koji Shiraishi.
Ryuji Goda
Doesn't watch a lot of horror movies but like Saejima he's not scared of anything. He's also the type of guy to drop everything to spend time watching a movie with his partner. Gets a kick out of being a shield or protector during scary parts.
Likes movies with a lot of personality and campiness. Slow burns or psychological thrillers just put him to sleep. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad, as long as it's entertaining.
Didn't think he'd end up being much of a horror fan but he's quite partial to John Carpenter. Likes The Thing, They Live, and Christine.
Nishikiyama Akira
One of the bigger scaredy cats of the group. Won't suggest a horror movie but will totally act like he's not at all afraid if you ask to see one.
Honestly, the two of you end up just kind of holding onto each other during scary parts or pulling up the blanket almost over your eyes when a character is about to die. Violence doesn't necessarily bother him but excessive gore kind of annoys him.
Enjoys a good ghost story movie but only if you'll watch it with him. Anthologies are also good too since it offers so much at once. Likes Ju-On, Ringu, and Tales From The Crypt.
Mine Yoshitaka
Likes certain horror movies. Not scared of much but he does get noticably uncomfortable with torture movies like Saw or Hostel. He just finds it to be weird more than entertaining.
Fond of more classic monsters like vampires or werewolves. Mine's the type of guy to actually have a decent home theater setup, even if he doesn't get much time to use it, so he doesn't go to the movie theater much.
Has a soft spot for some of the really old classics in the 30's like Frankenstein or Nosferatu. His favorite horror movie is Interview With The Vampire.
Daigo Dojima
Probably the only one of the boys who actively enjoys slow burns and more psychological horror. He doesn't get opportunities to watch movies much but he does have an interest in the medium as a whole.
Particularly loves anything with spectacular cinematography. Good directing, lighting, or costumes really impress him. Kind of interested in some of the technical aspects as well. Also probably the only of the boys to ever look something up on IMDb.
Especially fond of movies by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. His favorite horror films are Kwaidan, Cure, and Pulse.
Tatsuo Shinada
The biggest scaredy cat of all of the boys. Will attempt to watch a spooky movie with you at least once just for the sake of trying but will honestly just close his eyes if he feels overwhelmed. You HAVE to hold his hand though.
Probably the only one of the boys who actually gets squeamish easily. Gore and blood make him uncomfortable, although he has SOME tolerance in general. He'd just rather watch something that's not super heavy on bloodshed.
Horror films with a particular visual style, especially super colorful ones, make it a lot easier for him as he can actually see what's happening and he feels less worried. Movies like House or Suspiria are good for him. Also likes super over the top movies like The Lost Boys or Killer Klowns From Outer Space as they're so hilarious to him that he forgets to be scared.
Kasuga Ichiban
Somewhat easily scared. He gets more shocked or surprised than scared, honestly. The movie HAS to be interesting to some degree or he will just conk out and there will be no waking him. Doesn't mind jump scares since they help keep him awake at least even if the movie's bad.
Having said that, he does enjoy taking the time to see a movie that's genuinely just really good and talking about it with you afterward. Movies with really good effects tend to impress him a lot. It's also more visually memorable.
Tends to like movies where the main character has special powers. Partial to zombie movies since a lot tends to happen and involves multiple characters. He likes 28 Days Later, The Dead Zone, and Carrie.

How about some of your favorite KZMJ headcanons? :Dc Or favorite tropes you like writing the most?
OOH MAN the hard questions!! ty!!! >:3
i love focussing on goromi and kazumi bc of those genderqueer feelings. i went on that rant the other day PFFT but it can be really hard to find characters that have a mixed/gnc presentation that aren't just treated as a joke, which. don't get me wrong, that is how goromi's introduction is treated, yet she's also given the hostess routine with a genuine conversation, which is. more than most i've seen lmao.
i think it's hard to come across online bc you don't see any of my physical mannerisms or my inner thoughts in their purest form, but my masculinity and being a man are extremely important to me - as well as my femininity, my being gnc, the days where i like settling down as a "cute girl" while never being solely that. soooo i love putting a focus on gender, presentation, the rules and what it means to break them. i will infect everyone in this series with gender if i have to (<- joke lmao)
i also love like… the interplay of majima and kiryu not necessarily taking care of themselves all the time, but absolutely putting it in for the other, and the kinds of tension that can bring when going too far to help. i do think i write kiryu in crisis more than majima - that's less trope preference though and more seeing myself in his problems a bit clearer than majima's, giving me more perspective to write from, and some of kiryu's troubles (or like, hypothetical troubles lmao) being lesser explored in my eyes
uhh hmm specific headcanons.
kiryu and majima both know JSL, but ironically it's majima who knows less - between them majima is the one with hearing problems, being another one of his complications from the hole, and another that he tries to hide. meanwhile, kiryu's generation in sunflower included a deaf kid, so it was ensured the caretakers and other kids would know at least the basics. nishiki and kiryu in particular took to becoming conversational, using it between themselves if they needed to keep things quiet, quickly flash each other a code, the works. so kiryu and majima use JSL together, not as much as speech, but it can help with keeping things quiet, or alternatively, when one of their brains is on the fritz lmao. both of them have times where they lose their speech, usually from stress, so it's nice to have signs to fall back on. (however, they can't use JSL to keep secrets from haruka, as she's learning it too!)
kiryu has kleptomania (impulse control disorder; the urge to steal is disconnected from one's thoughts on the morality of stealing, and even liking stealing at all), majima knows this, so sometimes he leaves around trinkets/straight up gifts to give him the thrill of stealing without the consequence. if he needs something back he knows he can just ask and kiryu will return it, and he trusts kiryu not to lie and say he didn't steal something when he really did.
if kiryu had to pick one favourite physical trait of majima's, it would be his face. but okay, let's say he's not allowed to do that and he has to pick any other part of majima's body? he'd say majima's back. he loves his irezumi and what it represents, not only for its intended symbolism, but also the numerous scars both physical and mental that his irezumi try to hide. he would spend hours focussing on the hannya if he could, comforting her to comfort majima in the process his next favourite trait? majima's hands. no further comment.
if majima had to pick one favourite physical trait of kiryu's, it would be his tits. this would, in fact, be a little bit of a lie. he likes the comfort of hearing kiryu's heartbeat - sometimes he has trouble feeling like he's still alive (hence my take on the zombie majima persona; it's not always a fun act) so getting to hear kiryu's life helps. but that's more embarrassing to say than just saying tits, and i mean, they are a good set of tits regardless hehehe his next favourite would be kiryu's arms. he loves that strength and, on a sappier note, those hugs.
okay i am now thoroughly brainfarting on any more to say at the moment WHOOPS 💖

I Don’t Mind
Just a short drabble I wrote at 3 am :)
It’s pretty short so I’ll be posting it on AO3 and tumblr
Relationship: Kazuma Kiryu/Goro Majima, Kazuma Kiryu & Haruka Sawamura, Goro Majima & Haruka Sawamura
Warning: NSFW but not complete NSFW-- turns into domestic fluff
Words: 1,748
AO3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/29952348
Summary: The only thing he could really think of in that moment was a stream of consecutive, desperate, 'no's. Don't get him wrong, he loved Haru-Chan. Haru-Chan is an absolute treasure to be around and every moment spent with her was a moment coated in diamonds and gold, but right now was not one of those moments. Not when he is so damn close to getting off.
(aka. Kiryu and Majima are getting it on but have to put it to a halt when Haruka has a nightmare)
----
Riding Kiryu was like riding a fucking bull. All hard muscles and sweat, squeezing his thighs just hard enough to not get bucked off, and feeling the sweet satisfaction of victory each minute he stayed on. Though, he was sure in actual bull riding the bull wouldn't be making noises like Kiryu did. He didn't even think bulls had the proper vocal chords to moan his name. Kiryu definitely did, and God, he found every way to roll around the name 'Majima' in his mouth until the name didn't even sound like a name anymore. Maybe a war cry or the last thing a man says when he takes his dying breath.
Majima was close, and he wouldn't stop for anything. The only thing he wanted in that moment was to paint white across Kiryu's abdomen until they're both shaking, sputtering messes of human putty. He grabbed ahold of his own cock and stroked himself with a wet and fast pace. His back arched and he slammed down hard onto Kiryu's dick until he was whining like a kicked puppy. Kiryu looked so good like that, lips pink and puffy with kiss-abused bruises, parted beautifully in ecstacy, skin flushed cherry red from his cheeks all the way down to his ears, eyes half lidded and pupils dilated as he tried to watch the show Majima was giving him. He looked like a meal to be devoured and Majima was absolutely fucking famished. He could just eat him up. He wanted to eat him up.
"M'gonna cum baby, you gonna cum too? Wanna cum inside me baby? Fill my tight lil' hole, huh?" Majima blabbered out and Kiryu nodded enthusiastically. He smirked. "Ya so pretty. God, ya so pretty..."
He leaned down and captured Kiryu's swollen lips in a kiss. He stole each noise that left Kiryu's mouth and swallowed it down like a man dying of dehydration. Their lips moved sporadically and Majima's teeth clacked against Kiryu's with every downwards movement. He ran his hands though that carefully slicked back hair and tugged until each strand of black stuck out at odd ends, ruining every last bit of collectiveness the other man had. He wanted to ravish him, destroy him, leave nothing but bone in his wake.
He could feel himself getting closer and closer with each movement of his hips. He moved at different angles each time, trying his best to find the best way to hit his prostate and when he did, a throaty groan left him. He needed this. He needed this like he needed a pulse. He needed this like he needed food and water. He needed this like he needed to breathe.
He felt that pressure building up quick inside of him, and he's just about to spill over like blood from a fresh stab wound when--
Knock knock
Two gentle hits on hardwood broke their near-orgasmic haze. Kiryu put his hands on Majima's hips and gripped hard to pull him down and stop his movements. Majima whined with frustration and Kiryu quickly shushed him. They sat in silence for a moment, Kiryu listening closely for any other noise like a dog listens for an intruder late in the night. Majima was almost convinced his ears were gonna perk up, and maybe he'd even start panting with his tongue out for show.
"Ojisan?" A quiet voice muffled by the thick door of the bedroom finally rang out. Majima began to feel his whole world crashing down.
The only thing he could really think of in that moment was a stream of consecutive, desperate, 'no's. Don't get him wrong, he loved Haru-Chan. Haru-Chan is an absolute treasure to be around and every moment spent with her was a moment coated in diamonds and gold, but right now was not one of those moments. Not when he is so damn close to getting off.
"Get off, Majima..." Kiryu said softly, apologetic. Funny, cause that was exactly what he wanted.
"Maybe if we stay quiet, she'll go away." Majima didn't know if he was joking or not at this point. He was so desperate, clinging to any last scraps of being able to get off by the end of the night. Kiryu shot him a disapproving glare likened to that of a stern mother goose. He wouldn't even humor him. A damn shame.
Majima sighed and begrudgingly sat up, shivering at the empty feeling and collapsing on the bed next to Kiryu. He couldn't even look up before Kiryu was up from the bed and fumbling to pull his clothes back on. Majima watched with a mournful stare as all of that beautiful tanned skin was covered in seconds. A depressing loss. He was so distracted by planning a funeral for Kiryu's naked ass that he didn't have time to react when something wacked him in the face.
"Hey--!" It took him a moment to realize that he had thrown his boxers at him.
"Get dressed." Kiryu grunted, standing there and crossing his arms as he waited for him to comply. Majima huffed, but he did as he was told, lazily pulling his boxers up his legs. It was like a snake slithering back into its shed skin-- unnatural and uncomfortable. Once he was done he rolled himself up in Kiryu's comforter and buried his face in the mattress like a moody toddler. He could almost feel Kiryu rolling his eyes.
Another gentle knock interrupted them, but this time it was followed by a few sniffles. Oh yeah, this was bad.
Majima lifted his head until his good eye was poking up. Kiryu was already at the door, rushing to Haruka’s aid like the good parental figure he was.
"What's the matter?" His voice was soft as he spoke to her, the kind of soft that sent shivers down Majima's spine. Haruka was standing in the doorway in her pj's with tears staining her flushed cheeks. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and sniffled a few times to try and regain her composure.
"I... I had a bad dream.” She finally fessed up. Her shoulders shuddered as she tried to hold back from becoming a sobbing mess. Kiryu kneeled down and gently gasped at her shoulders, one hand gently stroking the tears away from her cheek. So soft. So domestic. Majima could almost feel his heart melting into a puddle in his chest.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Haruka quickly shook her head, and he just nodded.
“Can I come in?” She asked. Kiryu looked back at Majima with a look that was somehow apologetic and pleading at the same time. Haruka must have not noticed Majima’s presence, somehow, because she cocked her head up and startled when she saw him.
“Hi Majima-ojisan.” She said with a sniffle. Majima tried to offer her a genuine smile, mustering as much sunshine and rainbows he could in that moment and putting it all into a toothy grin, which looked much more frightening than Majima thought it did.
“Hey Haru-Chan.” Haruka wasn’t unfamiliar with Majima loitering around her and Kiryu's apartment, or at least not anymore. At this point he was over here more than he was at his own apartment. He patted a spot of the comforter next to him in a silent invitation. She quickly complied and crawled up onto the bed and plopped down next to him.
She looked up at him and her eyes were filled with lingering tears that threatened to spill with every fan of her lashes. She was such a sad sight to see, he could almost hear his heart shattering into pieces.
"Hey squirt, whatever's botherin' ya right now, forget about it." He placed a hand on her head and gently ruffled her hair, "Me and your pops are gonna protect ya from any monsters ya had in your nightmare, promise."
The bedroom light flickered off and soon the bed frame was squeaking in disapproval as Kiryu crawled onto the bed to join them. He shuffled up on the other side of Haruka and nodded into the conversation.
"We're strong, we can take them." Kiryu added, laying on his side with a gentle smile on his lips. Haruka sniffled a bit, but she didn't seem like she was on the edge of bursting anymore. She rubbed her eyes, now raw from sobbing and a lack of sleep, and yawned.
"Can I sleep here? I don't want to go back to my room." She asked, but she was already curling up at Kiryu's side without an answer.
"Of course." Kiryu muttered, wrapping his arms around her and pressing a kiss to her head. He then looked up at Majima with a frown on his lips and eyes that read; 'I'm so sorry' over and over again like a news ticker. "You don't have to stay if you don't want to."
"I don't mind." And he didn't. Sure, he was a bit upset about the major cockblocking he just got, but he could deal. Haruka meant a lot to Kiryu, he wasn't just gonna get all pissy because he was being a good parent.
Plus, it was all worth it, because Kiryu shot him a look that brought troves of butterflies to his stomach. A look that read so many emotions, none of which Majima felt comfortable naming. All he knew was that it felt nice to be looked at like that. Really fucking nice. Kiryu leaned as far forwards as he could with Haruka tucked beneath his chin and Majima met him halfway in a kiss.
"I'll make it up to you." He insisted, and Majima flicked his cheek.
"Nah, shuddup. I already said I don't mind, now go to sleep." Kiryu gave a huff of his nostrils in protest, but didn't say anything else. He just pressed another peck to Majima's lips and pulled him closer until the three of them were squished together in a warm embrace.
This definitely wasn't the way he thought this night was going to end, but he had no qualms with it. The domesticality of it all was tooth rotting-ly sweet, and he hated to admit it but Kiryu looked cute as hell with Haruka sleeping in his arms, almost like a mama bear snuggling her cub close. Haruka slept sounder than she ever had that night with Majima and Kiryu there to protect her, and Majima fell asleep with a nice feeling of home settled in his chest.

Okay, for the valentine’s day boogaloo, can you write a nice little family fic with goromako and their six-year-old child? Like Majima went to visit them after getting some yakuza affairs done in Kamurocho, and its just cute and fluffy? Also for their kid, could you use my oc, Kaida? If not possible you're welcome to make up your own goromako child. But seriously I need this family fic in my life.
i have bargained with you on this and i hope it suffices
valentine’s day boogaloo - guidelines - ko-fi

Kaida frowned atthe paper, graded in green pen with a near-perfect score. The fewpoints lost wasn’t what was bothering her, it was her pencilscratches at the top of the paper; her own handwriting spelling outher kanji name in all its…unfortunate glory. Her mother wasfinishing up in the kitchen, putting the last of what she needed inthe broth to simmer. It didn’t take long before she wandered out tosit with her daughter for a while, standing in the archway to thekitchen and noticing her small but deep frown.
“What’s thematter?”
Kaida lifted herhead, not even attempting to put a mask on, “Mom, why did Dad nameme like this?”
“Hm?” Makotostepped out of her slippers and knelt down in front of the table,“What do you mean?”
“It’sjust…Little dragon? Nobody is named this, not the othergirls,”
“True,” Makotohummed, “But there’s no permanent harm from a unique name, isthere?”
“But…,” sheprotested, “Why,”
“Well,” Makotohummed again, choosing her words carefully, “We figured it’d besuitable for what we hoped,”
“Wasn’t it Dad’sidea?” she grumbled, and while Makoto gave her the benefit of thetruth in that one she gently reminded that the name had to pass byher as well. Kaida sighed, frustrated, then went back to looking ather paper. Sensing that there was more to this than just simplefrustration over a name, Makoto got up and moved to Kaida’s side ofthe table, facing away from it as she sat down.
“What’s on yourmind?”
“Nothing,” shegrumbled. Makoto sighed quietly, not moving. Kaida kept her thoughtsto herself for a long while. It was quite the opposite and the bothof them knew it.
It wasn’t likeKaida was unaware that her family was…less than conventional, butit seemed in the past few weeks with her twelfth birthday swiftlyapproaching that everything was starting to nag at her from the backof her mind. Her father, some crazed yakuza with one eye and apenchant for bared skin and brawls, seemed to come and go as hepleased—never consistent, never always there. He was ofcourse, there for the important things, but even that started tobecome sullied in her mind past the naïve enthusiasm she had heldbefore. It was recent that she realized that at school events andperformances her mother always chose seats in the far back if sheknew he was coming, always putting her purse down in an empty seat tosave one for him. Sometimes he’d show up in the nick of time, sometimes he was even early. But then there were times where he’dstumble in late, face hastily washed and moving like he had boards ofwood keeping his legs separated. As soon as he’d crash into his seather mother would lean over and brush something off with herthumb—blood that had reappeared in the time between washing hisface and appearing at the event. Why her mother never seemedperturbed started to infuriate her, especially when he was sitting inthe sea of other kids’ fathers and so glaringly not what they were.
The last weekend hehad visited he stumbled in much the same way and Kaida at firstwondered if he was drunk as he slid his hand over her hair, messingit up, before crashing on the far side of the table. Her mother hadsaid nothing, simply sat down next to his head as they murmured sweetthings to each other she was now having a hard time believing. He hadpassed out soon after and her mother spent the entire meal with onehand buried in his hair, smoothing and combing it out. Kaida hadcraned her neck to see bruises on his face. She didn’t understand whyhe fell asleep with a smile on.
Of course sheunderstood what he was. She still had stark memories of when she wasmuch younger; her mother had to go in for complications that resultedin a hysterectomy, a word that she was simultaneously proudand ashamed for knowing. That meant that Kaida had to be sent underher father’s care. He had tried to keep her at home as much aspossible, but there were some days that he had to bring her into thegrimy district of Kamurocho, where she saw languishing homeless anddrug addicts alike. Then that led to her walking in on what was mostcertainly something that scarred her—her father beating theever-loving-shit out of some man as he heard him screech in a voiceshe didn’t recognize. As soon as he realized she was there thebeating was passed off to one of his goons and he scooped her up andaway. The grim silence he held might’ve been angry, but he never saida harsh word to her. Now Kaida was wondering if that was almostworse.
“I just…,”she finally broke the silence, “I just don’t get it.”
“Your name?”Makoto asked.
“Everything,”Kaida crumpled the edges of the paper in her hands, “He only comesaround when he wants, you don’t question it, you love him for it, andhe’s nice when he’s here, but other places…,”
Makoto watched herdaughter steadily, not interrupted even as she saw the tears offrustration bead at the corners of her eyes.
“So what does hemean by little dragon? What does he want me to be? Does hewant me to be like him? No one we know is like him, and he isn’tchanging, he’s not staying around the house any more than he used to,and he’s not…he’s not…,”
Studying herdaughter for a very long time, Makoto sighed, then looked up to wherethe only photograph she had of Lee rested near his certifications forbeing a massage therapist. Kaida shook her head, getting one lastsentence in.
“I don’t get whyyou let him. I don’t get why you love him,”
At that Makotocouldn’t help but smile. Well. It was blunt, but she was so obviouslyher father’s daughter. Her longer face, fingers, limbs—her cheeksand nose may have still been button-like like hers, but Majima’sblood absolutely ran through her veins. The smile turned to a smallfrown as she continued to stare. She had, just a few weeks ago, already given Kaida the talk about her body, seeing as Majimacommented that she looked just like he did before he shot up to hiscurrent height within the course of a year. Jokes about guessing whather height would be aside, he must’ve not been wrong, because Kaidawas speaking about things Makoto knew she’d have to confront at somepoint. She was almost twelve. She couldn’t know everything, but allthe same she deserved some peace.
“I never told youabout how your father and I met,” she started carefully. Kaidascrunched herself closed and glowered.
“Yes you did. Dadwas a cabaret manager and you were his massage therapist and then youfell in love,”
“You rememberthat I was blind back then?”
“Yes. Dad hasthat awful joke about love at first sight, remember?”
Makoto barelysmirked, but her voice darkened with a softness that only came out atthe right moments, “Kaida. Your father was hired to kill me.”
Kaida’s head shotup, her eyes wide. No smart retorts, no questions, no nothing—justsheer, utter shock from something that, pardoning the expression, hither from her blindside.
“Long beforethat,” Makoto folded her hands together to keep them fromfidgeting, “I was…Captured. Captured and used. Lee-san, thoughnot your grandfather by blood, he was the one who took me in. Taughtme how to be a massage therapist. Not too long later…your fathercame into our clinic. He had been told to kill me.”
Kaida was silent.Makoto stared at her, soft but firm, which only hammered in howserious she was.
“I was blind.They—your father and grandfather—tried to protect me. I lostLee-san. I lost my brother. I lost…everything.”
She swallowed thenlooked away, not able to look at her daughter as she relayed what shecould, “There are…times. Things that happen, that make you haveto make a choice. And there are only two options. We named you whatwe did because, should that time come, maybe you will already havethe strength to make the stronger, harder choice. Like he did. Like Idid. But…,”
Makoto looked atthe darkening skies outside of the front door as early eveningsettled in.
“I think, morethan anything, we named you that in the hopes that you would neverhave to make that choice.”
Kaida remainedsilent, eyes wide in horror and awe. Trying to alleviate some of it,Makoto smiled warmly then reached over to tuck loose strands of herdaughter’s hair behind her ear, smoothing it back to the band of herponytail. Letting the silence speak for her, she got to her feet andstepped back into her slippers, finding her way back to the kitchento tend to the sukiyaki. Kaida looked back to the name scratched onher paper, barely realizing she was trembling.
She knew there wasmuch she didn’t know, but she didn’t realize just what shecouldn’t have known.
The lock unlatchedwith a familiar sound and from the kitchen Makoto heard her daughterspring up, scream ’Daddy!’ like she hadn’t done in a fewyears, and crash into her father at the door. Majima shouted insurprise, soon followed with tired but genuine laughter. When Makotobrought the pot of sukiyaki out to the table Majima was looming overit with Kaida latched onto his back, face buried in the back of hisneck.
She smiled at him.He caught on to the depth and smiled back.

what are your fav yakuza games ranked??!
so i’ve only played 0-4 (and half of 5) and seen mooost of 7 (i don’t have it, but my friend has been playing it and streaming it to me), so i guess i don’t really have a rating on 5 or 6 but tl:dr: 0, k2/5 so far, and 4/k1/3 are kind of on the same level for me though 4 might be higher only because saejima ... but elaboration below because (: we live in my world (definite spoilers)
0 - my absolute favorite so far, and, like, as much fun as i have in the other games, nothing comes close. i went into it relatively, if not totally, blind and so that made it MUCH more enjoyable. i like the darker tone too and i am like... so biased towards everyone in this game i immediately love them more than anyone else (except nishitani. hate that bitch. whatever). two of my big favorites are from this game alone (kiryu and majima, and like yeah they’re in other games but their characterizations here... well... i’m in love. also hi the other one is saejima you didn’t ask but you shall receive). i’m really happy i played it before k1 because i think i kind of would’ve fucking hated nishiki and majima (also, hi, i really really love nishiki in this game and i was like, trying to look up a ref for him while playing and saw that he died and WELL. turns out that’s just k1).
it just hits so hard. all of it. it made me scared makoto was just going to not even make it to the end. tachibana’s death was so ): ))))::::. both the car scene and the end of shibusawa’s fight with nishiki and kiryu are stellar. i love majima’s absolute catharsis moment at the end up until the epilogue (also i just.. in general love cathartic moments for characters. sexy.). i went from being like wow oda is kind of fucking scum to wait this guy is kind of chill to oh my god what. it was just a really fun experience to not know what was going to happen or who was going to make it or not.
doing side content now, all the hostesses are my besties now. we’re all friends. i love love yuki and ai. also i’m like. so good at disco. not really but kind of. disco should be in more games.
k2 - okay so this is mainly so high because i find it so fucking pretty. i’m in love with the way it looks. i love being able to walk in places with no loading screen. sotenbori is so gorgeous and so is kamurocho. it’s so... <3
kiryu and sayama’s romance was like laughable and the fact that the end was that was ... so fucking funny to me. i don’t really care about sayama at all at all but the end with her and ryuji was sweet to me (and made me like him a bit since a lot of the time i just... don’t have opinions on characters). i really like daigo in this too. the majima saga was fun to me because i’m weak willed and well... i really love love makoto.
5 - i haven’t finished it but i find it really really fun. every part has been super fun to me and i’m on haruka’s right now. i know a bit about it which is... unfortunate (um. like probably anything regarding majima. as in he definitely isn’t dead if he’s in the next two and also, like, stuff with park)... i have many many thoughts and emotions about saejima between this and 4. park was also growing on me a lot but then um well. it seems she died so um. well that happened. i’m excited to see where it goes! all of the jobs have been pretty fun (hunting has been my least favorite so far because it kind of felt tedious and i keep getting attacked by bears, i finished off taxi while in the story, and i like. have to stop myself from doing all of haruka’s stuff because i totally love it, it’s my favorite. honestly kind of scared of shinada’s because i um. .. don’t know how good i’m going to be at it since i think it’s baseball). it’s just pretty good!
4 - i wasn’t super invested in it. i loved saejima’s part and he really quickly became my favorite but my god, some of the stuff regarding him was fucking stupid. the rubber bullets? kinda stupid. yasuko dying for like... no reason... kinda stupid (mainly because i just.. i want ONE happy sibling reunion after ryuji/sayama and tachibana/makoto). akiyama and hana are fun, tanimura was nice and i still don’t know what the hell happened to him but bye i guess since he just seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. i can’t really remember anything kiryu did and i think he was just kind of a weaker protag, he’s much better again in 5. um... basically though... saejima... i like seeing a more genuine majima too again.
3 - i guess i wasn’t super invested in this either. some of the stuff was cute (like kiryu dad moments) but i just... didn’t really care... at all... about anything going on... the kazama look alike thing was like, um, ok. couldn’t really care about kashiwagi dying because i’m like,,, girl i know you’re in 7 (also i really like him in 7 he’s funny). majima kiryu bestie moments. i like all the kids except the certain riona part was so fucking uncomfortable (also idk why kiryu is telling them they’re all families and saying he saw everyone at sunflower as siblings then trying to put riona and mitsuo together. also weird). kind of don’t understand the mine hype because like he looks and sounds nice but ladies.. he bulldozed a fucking orphanage. how more typically evil can you get than that. literally hates orphans. it’s so... and i just didn’t really super care? he was interesting at the end i’ll give him that but then he just suicides so like... bye. also richardson’s voice is really funny to me.
k1 - so i played this immediately after 0 and well... having really liked nishiki and majima in 0 made this .. um . it was almost comedically similar with the same boat fight and the same car chase, but, just, lame. it was kinda eh. i didn’t like it. i kind of feel like nishiki could’ve been done way better. majima is just suddenly.,.. he’s um doing things alright. it was just a biiiiiiiiiiiiig let down compared to 0. makes me bitter.
also i realize i didn’t rank 7 at all, but, um, kinda don’t understand what’s going on, and i’m REALLLY not invested. kiryu’s existence makes me livid. so fucking stupid. saejima and majima’s fight was fun because i like saejima just swinging majima around that is a fun concept also brother Momence which i <33 love seeing them together same in 4 and the start of his part in 5. all the party members are fun for the most part except nanba got really annoying. i didn’t see some of ch 3/4 either so. i don’t really have anywhere i’d place it. also i haven’t seen the end because my friend is just playing k1 instead SO ... forever in chapter 15 purgatory.
#📬#Anonymous#i wish i could see the other games blind because its kind of disappointing to know things#im stupid and keep going on youtube and well . youtube is like fuck you here's massive spoilers.

seasons greasons :) if you're up to it, could we perhaps some HCs for how the yakuza guys like to spend the holidays with their S/O? regardless of whatever they celebrate, ofc. the winter season is quite festive for all sorts of stuff. hope you're feeling alright btw! stay cozy and healthy ( ´・・)ノ(._.`)
SEASONS GREASONS skskskskskks u have my whole heart for that, also YES you can. Thanks for the well wishes too, unfortunately I have been slain by COVID so the sickness will continue. Doing my bestest though, headcanons below da cut.
Kazuma Kiryu
Lots of Christmas shopping for the kids at Morning Glory. Getting hot drinks and walking around together during a snowfall. He wouldn't expect you to do this with him but he likes to volunteer at events, like soup kitchens for the homeless, during this time of year.
Majima Goro
Him want go see the big fancy holiday lights with you. That's it. He just wanna go see some neat decorations and ooo and aaa. Also just wants to drink hot drinks and eat hot food with you.
Saejima Taiga
Doesn't care for public holiday events so much but he WILL be making a giant cauldron of homemade soup for you both. You don't have to help out but he would love it if you did!
Akiyama Shun
Not much a festive guy, typically spends holidays just sleeping a lot. Would go out for a particularly fancy dinner with you though. Does tag along for Christmas shopping if only to take notes on what you seem to like so he can buy it for you later.
Tanimura Masayoshi
He's pretty new at dating so he doesn't know what couples do for holidays but his personal tradition is making tons of handmade dumplings at Homeland and handing them out to all the families in the international district. He'd love it if you tagged along to help, maybe even tying some cute bows on the baskets before delivering them together.
Ryuji Goda
Big of heart and dumb of ass man Ryuji's favorite holiday thing to do is to make literally everyone in the Omi Alliance decorate the HQ. That includes you. Of course, since you are his literal favorite person, you get first and last say of what goes. It's really fun for the both of you, running around and throwing up decorations, telling grunts to put that there and not over there and what the hell were they thinking putting those lights with that color ribbon.
Nishikiyama Akira
He wants to visit all the cutest cafes and try their seasonal items. Nothing like a cutesy dessert for two... or two desserts. Or three. Also likes to wear matching scarves or matching gloves.
Daigo Dojima
He's also fairly unfamiliar with what couples do during the holidays but he's trying his best. Will take you out for a nice dinner for sure. He tends to prefer attending winter festivals instead of events for more modern holidays so if you're willing to try that, he'd love to go with you! His personal favorite holiday tradition is just enjoying hot tea while watching snow fall.
Mine Yoshitaka
He's pretty inward most of the time so holiday chaos just makes him want to stay home. Usually just decorates inside of his own home, he's not really religious but he likes the appearance of a Christmas tree so he typically goes with that. Would love to shop for some ornaments for you to hang up specifically.
Tatsuo Shinada
Literally all he wants to do is wear a Santa hat. That and probably go bar hopping on Christmas Eve. He's all about just relaxing and having a fun time, so long as he's with you. Would go caroling with you, although be warned he sings a little off key.
Ichiban Kasuga
He's probably one of the few out of all the boys that genuinely isn't picky about doing much during the holidays. As long as he gets to spend time with his loved ones, he's content. If it snows, he's definitely starting a snowball fight though. Would love to check out a holiday market with you though!
Tianyou Zhao
This silly head is making truck loads of homemade steamed buns and drinking a lot of tea and nothing can stop him from accomplishing his tasty holiday mission. He'd love to teach you how to make the buns. Likes watching you proudly place them in the steamer after he's filled them up.
Joon-Gi Han
His ass don't know nothin' about holidays! No, seriously, he's so confused. "Why's there a man in a red suit at the mall today?" Mostly just curious and kind of enamoured by all the activity spiking up all around the city. He's never really had a Christmas or much of any kind of holiday so you'll probably have to show him the ropes. Hot cocoa ends up being his favorite thing.

Hi friend!!! :D I hope you're having a great road trip so far (I know it's gonna be a while for you to answer this one but it's okiee take your time, just wanted to thank you for writing these amazing headcanons!! <3)
So, I'm a sucker for marriage. Can I request some headcanons about how the boys would propose to their partner?
BRAIN GO BRRRRRRRRR yes you absolutel can have these headcanons ahooga. Also thank yew, road trip was gouda. Headcanons below da cut sweet anon, thanks for your patience!
Kazuma Kiryu
Most nervous about planning the proposal, actually. Worried about where, when, and all of that. He'll be surprisingly calm during it though, much to his own surprise.
He'd pick somepalce rather intimate, definitely not the type of guy for public proposals. Honestly might just go the classic route and propose to you while the sun sets on the beach in Okinawa.
Only other person who knows any details about his proposal is Haruka. She totally contributes, like hiding the ring box in her room because she knows you won't look in there.
Majima Goro
Debates for a long time if he's going to go the typical over the top route he does with... pretty much anything else in his life. Asks Kiryu and Saejima for advice, to which they both kinda blush awkwardly and are like "How the heck would I know what to do?"
Shockingly, he decides to also go the more intimate route, although maybe less romance movie tropey than Kiryu. Probably takes you up to a rooftop the two of you relaly like to hangout at, or some other place where you both have a lot of fond memories.
Most nervous of all of the boys DURING the proposal itself. You might honestly be able to pick up on it due to his sudden fidgety behavior a few minutes before it actually happens.
Saejima Taiga
He'll keep it fairly plain and simple. No frills or lavish giant public proposals here. Saejima wants to keep it as real and genuine as possible as he sees this as essentially THE confession of a lifetime.
Won't go too crazy with planning and will likely settle for doing a date that repeats your first date together. Visiting all of your favorite spots or maybe where you had your first kiss is a good setting for him.
Might propose on a rooftop or in a park but will make sure there are no crowds nearby. He wants to be able to lay out all of his feelings before popping the question and he needs some amount of space and privacy from the world to do this.
Akiyama Shun
Total class act. Fancy dinner and all. Brings flowers and everything. Probably secretly asks the waiter to pull some strings in the kitchen for a nice dessert.
Asks Hana advice for what to do. She helps him pick out the place, ultimately. She makes him do the ring shopping though and refuses to give him input on that.
Nervous the entire time, both while planning it and during the proposal itself. Akiyama is a romantic at heart but honestly marriage was kind of always a distant fantasy for him, so it's totally crazy for him to actually be doing this.
Tanimura Masayoshi
Our boy is a MESS. Has zero idea what to do. Where the heck do people even get rings? Does it matter which knee people get down on during a proposal? He has no idea.
Spends the most amount of time out of all the boys picking out a ring. He knows this is something very special and important so he puts in the time accordingly to pick one out.
Might honestly propose at Homeland after getting them to prepare a special dinner for you both. Proposes in private though, makes eveyone leave the restaurant before he gets down on one knee because he's shy as hell.
Ryuji Goda
The LEAST nervous of all the boys about proposing. It's kind of expected for him to get married someday given his position in the Omi Alliance, so the concept has been on his mind somewhat for a good while.
Confident in his ability to pick out a ring and he will indeed pick out something very nice. Unlike most of the boys, he can plan a proposal all by himself.
Think Akiyama on steroids. It's not just a fancy dinner, it's a PRIVATE room in the nicest restaurant in town with your favorite bottle of wine chilling when you arrive. Hell, private chef too if he can find one. Gets down on one knee after dessert just as the sun is setting.
Nishikiyama Akira
Out of all the boys, he's probably the easiest to sniff out when he's planning a proposal. Tries to play it cool like everything is normal but it's super obvious when things are not normal.
Asks Kiryu for advice on places to go ring shopping, to which Kiryu is like "Uhh... Le Marche? Where else do they sell rings..." which isn't much help. Might just go ring shopping WITH you after proposing, if you're into that.
He'll wait for an anniversary or Valentine's Day to pop the question. It lets him use the holiday as a cover up for all his scurrying around making plans.
Daigo Dojima
Similar to Ryuji in that he always knew he'd likely get married at some point due to his status. However, unlike Ryuji, he has ZERO clue what he's doing. Isn't panicking outwardly but is a little palms sweaty if you know what I mean.
If he asks anyone for advice, it's his mom. He wouldn't bring it up to other Tojo Clan members and plus he trusts his mom of all people to understand him and what he's about to do. They have a pretty decent relationship and she'll be glad to see her son getting married.
With Daigo, it'll eventually go down one of two ways. If you share a home together, he'll plan a private dinner at home with just you two and send all of his staff home so you can have the place all to yourself. If you don't share a home together, he'll take you on a weekend vacation and propose the night before the vacation ends.
Mine Yoshitaka
Good at ring selecting, bad at proposal planning. He's got a pretty good idea of what kind of ring you'd want but when it comes to the act of proposing itself, he's not sure where to do it.
Would end up taking you on a very special date, something the two of you hadn't done before, like going to an opera. It'll definitely be something that requires you two dressing up. Even by Mine standards, it'll be a rather fancy affair.
After the event, he'll take you to a really nice rooftop bar late at night and that's when it'll all go down. It's semi-public but he'll still try to keep it intimate and won't try to draw attention to himself.
Tatsuo Shinada
Despises public proposals. The idea of proposing is plenty scary and he doesn't need a hundred people watching. Having said that, he's not the best at getting all fancy, especially since he can't always afford that, so planning is pretty hard for Shinada.
It's cheesy but he might just end up like putting the ring on a cupcake and giving it to you at home after spending all day together doing cute things, like going to bookstores and getting food at some local restaurants.
The least traditional of all the boys to be honest. Don't expect the whole down-on-one-knee things. Shinada's pretty spontaneous so it'll be a unique proposal for sure. Most likely man to propose with a ring pop or something.
