Sorry if this is weird/annoying but I keep thinking about the twerk off competition and how Minos is a lot thinner than people usually draw him and I don't think his ass would be that good because of it. You'd think the fact he's the king of lust would give him an advantage but he wasn't sent to hell FOR being lustful he just works there. Gabriel has spent his entire life repressed and would struggle to twerk because hes embarrassed. Sisyphus has a fat ass and is confident in this essay I will-
You’re right, but I must grade your opening statement here
We don’t really know why Minos was in hell. Everyone liked him so he wasn’t in there for being a shithead. Maybe he did just bust it down too hard. A case of “You Smoke Too Tough. Your Swag Too Different. Your Bitch Is Too Bad. They’ll Kill You” it seems. Tragic..
V1 has a $5 webcam for an eye we can’t really be judging that too hard but.. he does appear to be less caked up than you’d expect. Maybe he should lose the shorts for an accurate measurement. What? Who said that-
Anyway. Sisyphus does win you are correct you get a B+ on your essay <3
#we only do serious hard hitting research here#the people who pointed out the shape of the pole#it was a tactical decision#I trusted that most of you would make the right choice#it do jiggle.#thank you for understanding#gabriel has no shot in this he’s just there to be pathetic <3#ask#asks#non voice post

I know that Boromir is explicitly compared to King Eärnur and I know why, but my baseless personal headcanon is that he's not that much of a fan of a king who got himself killed in tactically asinine circumstances rather than prioritizing his people, particularly when the end result of Eärnur's life choices is Boromir himself carrying the weight of protecting Gondor. Boromir's true icon is Tar-Telperiën, the proud unmarried queen who firmly maintained Númenórean autonomy and priorities, but who was the actual ruler when Númenórean forces first showed up on the coast of Lindon to save the Elves and kick Sauron back to Mordor.
The line about Boromir only being interested in lore when it came to military things—well, kicking Sauron's ass out of all of Eriador and forcing him to desperately flee counts as military lore! I imagine that Boromir knows and loves that story down to the most granular tactical details recorded. Whenever some hidebound loremaster goes on about Tar-Telperiën's reign being a period of total disengagement from Middle-earth's problems while Númenor only interceded under Tar-Minastir, Boromir goes from zzzzzz to "well AKSHUALLY" in about a quarter second.
(This is also aro-ace leadership solidarity in my mind, but mostly because Boromir thinks Telperiën's successful navigation of bullshit politics without marrying, while finding time to orchestrate the defeat of Sauron's armies, is awesome.)
#anghraine babbles#deep blogging#legendarium blogging#anghraine's headcanons#tar telperiën#númenórë#boromir#ace headcanons#húrinionath#eärnur critical#i know a lot of boromir fans give eärnur the benefit of the doubt bc of their stated similarities but i am not one of them#boromir is proud but above all else motivated by his care for his people. eärnur made one of the stupidest tactical decisions ever#for what appears to be largely motives of personal honor and glory. and he only held back as long as he did because of mardil's influence#while leaving gondor in a hell of a lurch. mardil is very obviously the one actually prioritizing the welfare of their people above himself

One thing I think people forget is that sans probably wouldn’t talk about missing his home and never being able to go back and giving up unless he absolutely felt he had to
with frisk he’s pretty sure that’s the time traveler that could very well end the entire world. He’s trying to reason with em as a someone he’s hoping could be a friend at that point because he’d really rather not have that happen
In geno is IS the end of the world and he’s hoping you’ll realize this is stupid and cruel and reset. It’s not like he’d have this conversation on a random Tuesday with papyrus
yeah agreed, sans goes out of his way to not talk to/with papyrus about their life before the underground. remember the newsletter q&a? (this is more a theory, but judging from their behavior i personally think papyrus is an amnesiac/sans thinks he is, and he's trying to spare him the grief of remembering).
his memories and mementos are stored behind his house for a reason, he's had his realization that he'll never go back already: there's no sense in reopening that wound again if he has an option to avoid the topic.
#the reason he talks to frisk about homesickness is partly a tactical decision to test our willingness to finish our journey#partly genuine empathy for the situation (he assumes) they both find themselves in#then there's nm where he's just laying it all out for you. it's the worst case scenario climax of years of foreknowledge cynicism and work#watching even his last glimmer of hope that he can persuade us die in front of his eyes. and we know he wanted to believe in it#we know it was important to him that that possibility of being friends existed because he asks us not to ruin it for his alt timeline selves#i don't think he's saying he sympathized with us to change our minds at that point. i think mostly her just fucking angry#and bitter. and disillusioned. and at the end of his rope.#but yeah everywhere else?#with everyone else? no way he opens up about it lmai#i don't think he ever even tells toriel about it and I've got a story where they have a fucking kid and everything#he's that reserved. but mostly i think he just doesn't want to linger on the past anymore and takes what meager happiness life throws at him#answered asks#oh well play the cards I'm given. you know how it is#sans#metanalysis#undertale#papyrus

the parallels between aegon and rhaenyra this episode really do contextualize how paramount it is to safe-guard figure heads during times of war.
we have aegon begging, pleading to be let out onto the battlefield, yet being denied due to the dangers only being held slightly at bay. how criston tells him he’s too important, how alicent tells him to sit and do nothing. we have rhaenyra announcing upon her arrival from the sept that she will answer lord staunton’s call for aid, that she will leave immediately to help them. aegon refuses to listen and see reason behind why no one wants him actively fighting, rhaenyra heeds her council’s words on the opposite, specifically rhaenys’ and jacaerys’, and allows rhaenys to go in her stead. two sides of a mirror, each with different outcomes.
a brash and egotistical decision leaves aegon burnt beyond recognition, betrayed by his closest blood in said brother’s pursuit of the throne he covets. we have a logical and cautious decision which still ultimately ends in tragedy, yes, but the black’s cause still has meaning behind it; rhaenys’ sacrifice will not be in vain, unlike aegon now being bedridden for the foreseeable future, unable to rule. this obviously puts a damper on the green’s own pursuits.
#house of the dragon#hotd#rhaenyra targaryen#pro rhaenyra targaryen#team black#anti team green#proving once again that rhaenyra not fighting in the book is a tactically sound decision#how are you supposed to properly rule#especially during war times#if you can’t speak nor get out of bed?

A lot of people like to make Charles able-bodied which is almost certainly a product of First Class and his bad decisions in DOFP. But.
I personally would like to give a TED talk about what I think sex post-disability would look like for him.
#grey talks#cherik#heres the thing#people can sorta accept that luke losing a hand during rots#was a direct result of a bad decision#and i will ARGUE#that the writers employed a similar tactic#with the serum and charles not being able to use powers#because without his telepathy#everything went wrong#SO#bad decision = consequences

My overall impression: I can understand the practical reasons for keeping the debate (mostly) civil, especially as a means of getting to people who are still undecided/on the fence, but I can't really consider it a victory when we're discussing people's lives. I give Walz credit for when he did press on issues, particularly school shootings, the demonization of undocumented immigrants, and reproductive rights, but...I still kind of find myself disappointed. I really feel like the Democratic side should have pressed more on the offensive, especially since we're discussing people's lives. I agree, keep a cool head, don't let anger distract you from functioning, but I don't really know if I consider civility to be the ultimate goal here.
#vice presidential debate#vp debate#it felt like walz could have easily made vance his personal chew toy#and he didn't#and i'm not saying he did NOTHING#i can see WHY he made the tactical decisions he made#but i think it was kind of a misfire in other ways#but....it's also a vp debate

On the subject of gotham county line and batman noel and so on and so forth it’s pretty frustrating (from a watsonian pov) that anytime Bruce hallucinates Jason being loving/ caring/helpful/compassionate towards him it’s always as robin and never as his current self
#it's ironic because Jason as robin never got the chance to become as obedient & devoted (malleable) to Bruce as he currently is#which is a result of being abused/manipulated for a more prolonged period of time#“maybe if I try harder and do it right this time he'll finally see the truth”#classic abuse tactic#no matter how well the victim fits the mold set by the abuser they’ll never acknowledge it#rather if they see you trying they’ll push harder and tell you you’re not perfect#the small shreds of affection here and there are important for motivating the victim to keep trying#kelseethe#Jason initiating the hug in rhato 27 after Bruce insinuated that those beatings will be a regular occurence bc he deems it a necessity#continuing to support Bruce even after Ethiopia and sticking around to help get Damian back#eagerly cooperating with Bruce + co in event leviathan then getting surprise pikachu faced/hurt after being betrayed#making a conscious decision to comfort Bruce in gotham war after Bruce fucked him up and left him behind#having undying conern for Bruce's wellbeing while Bruce regularly endangers his life#ex. Bruce's weird habit of committing vehicular assault on Jason whenever they're on the road demonstrated both in tfz and gotham war#point being: Jason was much more psychologically fit to be defiant towards Bruce when he was robin compared to now#he's more of a “good son”™ now than he was as robin Bruce is just too used to thinking whatever he wants and never being satisfied#the only times Jason got mad/upset at Bruce during one issue and continued to stay mad until the next#other than lost days and utrh was batman 410-411 and early in aditf before Bruce helps Jason find Sheila#so much worse has happened since then and all that just magically became water under the bridge off-panel

The thing that gets me, even 10+ years down the line, is that EVEN IF Harry and Louis were weirded out by people shipping them (which IS fair, but also: I think the blame can be shared 50/50 between fandom and pr people) to the point where it "ruined their friendship", we simply shouldn't have been able to notice it.
Like, that's the WHOLE POINT of having people who media train you and pr people: to present a nice image to the public. And 1D's image, like EVERY boyband out there, revolved around thinking the boys were all close, they were happy to be together forever. The reason people were so blindsided by Zayn leaving the band is that they had to pretend everything was fine and dandy even when it wasn't, and the public bought it.
I'm not saying that's a good thing, I'm not saying I'm happy with it, I'm saying that's the reason pr people and managements and every other behind the scenes part of the industry even EXISTS: to smooth out the wrinkles of the image presented to us. Boybands are supposed to be a UNITED FRONT. We as the public are not supposed to know about the skirmishes boys get into, because people would not root for a band where they know there's infighting.
If H&L were actually barely speaking during all those Years (and that's the thing that gets me, it was genuinely YEARS, not like, a bad week), as management their job should have been to force them into a Get Along Shirt and have them actually be professional and act like they did not have disagreements. It seriously makes NO SENSE to me after all these years that there were span of Months of interviews in which they barely interacted with each other and acted like the other one didn't exist, because if it was actually them not wanting to speak to each other, a good (by this I mean somewhat professional, not morally good) management would have said "suck it up and pretend you're still friends". That was their job! I cannot stress enough how this was PRECISELY a job for pr people! And they didn't do it!
So either they were so bad at their job they didn't even TRY to fix the public perception of the band, or having them pretending the other didn't exist was the best outcome. Which. You see how insanely suspicious that was? Like, even without taking into account whatever weird glances they threw at people in the crowd or the images of them hesitating to touch each other, the fact that the mainstream narrative was THIS and no one DARED to put a patch on it is insane in and of itself. It's honestly the dumbest thing whoever was in charge ever did for these boys' image
#twelve years later#one day i will elaborate on the fandom vs pr people because i think the fault lies on both parts#but today is not that day#dare i say#larry stylinson#anyway looking back on it its such a dumb approach to the rumors. both if they were a thing and if they weren't.#bc wdym they didnt even sit next to each other for YEARS???#i can assure you there is NOT that many permutation between five people.#and if they were actually together it looks like a poor overcompensation tactic#but if they weren't#and this was all h&l decision bc they didn't like each other anymore#those modest! people look EVEN WORSE st their jobs! like truly if your talent is being stroppy because they dont like each other#you tell them to suck it up and do their fucking job#and this one isnt even a 'the industry is evil and forces people to be fake' this one is COMMON SENSE BETWEEN COWORKERS.#like idc if outside of your job you roll your eyes at each other but if as a team you have to present a united front you WILL play nice#god knows how many coworkers of mine i could not fucking stand and yet. if it came down to i would have sooner died than let the kids see it

so very small Worm (Wildbow), Bug Fables Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Skitter | Weaver | Taylor Hebert, Post-GM, Transmigration, Spiders, Bugs & Insects, Canon-Typical Violence
Taylor Hebert wakes up in the middle of a grassy field with an aching head, a massive blank in her memory, and approximately four more limbs than she remembers having. Approximately, of course, because one of her original four limbs appeared to be gone, and she wasn't sure how to qualify an entire abdomen suddenly spawning off of her backside. Something ingrained deeply into her skull told her she should be blaming someone, but she couldn't quite remember who.
Author's Note: Bugtober, Day 19 - Mimic. We think that Taylor would be a mimic spider if we swapped her over to BF. We have no major justification for this, but we are open to suggestions if anyone has a better idea, seeing as it's been nearly three years (we think) since we've read Worm and there are likely people on this website who are not operating on three years of character drift.
#our art#bug fables#worm#parahumans#taylor hebert#watercolor#bugtober#finished#what canon is the violence typical for? good question.#losing access to swarm tactics doesnt defang taylor but it Does mean she would have to put in more effort for gore#this is not a real fic and will not be a real fic at any point in the forseeable future btw#in order for us to write a fic we have to have read the source media within at least six months of writing#and we have been procrastinating on rereading worm#this is just a vague idea that came about from discussing what bugs the undersiders would be#generally we agreed she would be a social insect of some description but this is more Fun for the setting#she is a perfectly normal ant. who is normal. and standard.#we have previously drawn taylor approximately Never and we have not figured out mimic spider anatomy with their weirdass two segments#ehh. her disguise is perfectly passable. ants will not bat an eye at her because she smells right and ant eyesight sucks ass#for those wondering on other placements rachel is a weevil lisa is an orchid mantis brian is a ladybug and alec is a parasitoid wasp#we also decided that squealer would be a bombadier beetle. we feel no desire to clarify this decision. take it as you will#we will now fail to post anything even vaguely worm related for approximately five trillion more years

Something about this interaction between Harry & Janeway - specifically Janeway but it's notable that Harry's the one listening because I think, say, Chakotay or B'Elanna might push back against the idolization of this 'it was different back in those days' way of thinking.
#Get the Tranq she's 'Good Old Boys'-ing!#never beating the Starfleet stooge accusations#which I think should have been brought up more between her and Chakotay#instead of just making Chakotay like Starfleet again so they can be together#the Tuvok/Chakotay/Janeway command trio should have been like#Janeway: I love Starfleet in an uncomplicated way and though it's painful sometimes I believe following code is the only way to proceed#Tuvok: I agree with the captain and this makes her believe in her decisions more - though I would attempt to obey her commands even if they#weren't regulation.#<- Janeway doesn't want to examine this#Chakotay: I hate Starfleet because of very valid reasons and I don't think following orders and codes from superiors is the best thing#in every situation. I want everyone here to examine their biases which cannot necessarily be done if biases are written into the#codes. We aren't in Starfleet space. We might have to adapt.#but it's nowhere near that nuanced bc you know. Starfleet Good. Starfleet Good. Starfleet Good. Maquis Bad. Maquis Bad. Maquis Bad.#Or you know: 'Maquis doing this the WROOONG way...violence isn't the answer :(' maybe violence is the answer sometimes.#when it's the only language the people in power understand.#maybe 'let's talk about this' is an insidious military tactic sometimes actually#Also Harry immediately going from 'They falsified logs?' to 'I always wondered it'd be like back then...~'#He and Janeway................Him and Janeway are!!! AGH#People think Harry's way too timid. They think this because he's asian and an ensign so they make him timid & obedient#But he's very willing to break or bend the rules - he's willing to fight he likes action and adventure and he's very similar to Janeway#where they'll both die and go to hell and come back just to save their crew - their friends - their family

sorry but au squared is crazy because yes walt did in fact poison baby with lily of the valley for the purposes of getting jesse back on his side and wrangling back control of the meth empire, but that doesn't mean he Liked doing it. that doesnt mean he didnt run and re-run his math over and over again to make sure he wasnt giving her a lethal dose or stare regretfully at her in the days before the poisoning or pet her little head with sincere concern and relief once she was cleared for discharge from the hospital. i know no one asked but i cannot stop thinking abt this!!!!!!
#syd squeaks#walt voice: i am making a tactical decision here. i will also be staring out the window in remorse for the next few weeks#he subconsciously sees jesse and baby as part of His family and if he has to do this to keep from losing them. so be it#but that doesnt mean he likes it#au squared#walter white#baby ayuluk
