AAAAAA AMAZING
that moment when someone has the same views on your otp’s, it transcends just shipping the same thing, it means you ship them the same way,and this fic is it for me.
Short Sonamy IDW Fanfic thingy:
Sonic would never admit it, but he has been in love with Amy practically since the moment he had laid eyes on her- though he hadn’t realized that until recently.
He didn’t understand Amy or the way she made him feel. At first, he just thought all girls were like that, weird beings who stir you up inside with their feminine charm but no. After he grew older, met more people- more girls- he realized these feelings only emerged around Amy. After he sorted all that out he decided it was best to avoid her (and these weird feelings) whenever he could.
After all, he already knew what romance was like. Boy meets girl, they hit it off, girl asks boy for dates and marriage, boy proposes, they marry and move into the suburbs where they watch over their two kids before boy heads off to his 9 to 5 and girl stays back to cook dinner, they grow old, retire, die, and get buried in some nearby graveyard without traveling or adventures or fighting world destroying enemies.
As far as he was concerned, if Amy had her way, they’d be on a one-way road to a dead-end life. And Sonic hated the Idea of that more than anything.
So when Amy suddenly grabbed him by his hands and declared she never wanted him to change and wouldn’t want to force him to stay at HQ, he felt something swell within his chest. He stared at her dumbfounded. Huh? Did he hear that right? Was this really Amy, the same girl who would chase him down for miles begging him to marry her? Before he could get a word out another thought crossed his mind. Had she just said ‘I love you’ to his face? She had said it so casually he had almost missed it.
He didn’t know what to say to her. Sonic couldn’t speak so freely about his emotions the way Amy seemed able to, so he opted to reciprocate in his own- less direct way.
He backed up slightly, scratching his nose and turning his head to hide the smile that was creeping up his face. “ You know, you could come with me if you wanted.”
He had offered the same preposition to Tails not too long ago yet, when asking Amy there was an air of awkwardness to it. He was unpracticed when it came to the matters of his heart so expressing these desires felt foreign on his selfless tongue.
He won’t deny he was a bit upset when she declined, but that was quickly replaced with warmth as he saw the determination in her eyes. She had a job to do that not even Sonic the Hedgehog could pull her away from. To him, it was as if she was saying, ‘I won’t be tied down to you either.’ And the thought of that set his heart ablaze.
Amy had Sonic’s heart tied around her finger-not that he would ever tell her that but with the way she acted around him, Sonic was sure that some way somehow, she already knew.
.
.
.
Sonic caught himself sneaking glances at Amy far more often than he’d be comfortable admitting but could you blame him? He hadn’t seen any of his friends for 6 months and Amy was one of his closest. He figured that must be all it was. He missed his friends dearly while he was gone so it makes sense he was feeling a bit mushy.
But then again, it seemed to be only around Amy did he feel this strongly.
When she spoke, he found himself hanging onto the last word she said. When she looked at him, he felt himself bask in her attention. And when they were alone, an increasingly rare scenario given the busy nature of HQ, he covetted the intimate way she relaxed in his presence.
She was so tense as the leader of the resistance and the restoration. He couldn’t recall a time he’d seen the ever-cheery Amy Rose so restrained and subdued. He didn’t like it one bit.
Eye bags and a caffeine addiction didn’t suit her. At least not the her he knew half a year ago.
He tried not to think about it but, a lot of his friends seemed different; a little wiser, shoulders a bit broader, and a lot more tired. And Amy seemed the most different of them all. He noticed a distinct lack of hugs and dreamy lovey dovey rants. The best way he could put it would be that she seemed more… mature? At least, she was acting in a way a child might believe a mature adult might act.
Sonic couldn’t help but feel as if she was putting up some kind of act for everyone. Like, she needed to change for people to take her seriously. But could he blame her? No one really took her seriously before- not until she took out her hammer at least. But momentary fear and respect are not the same thing.
Still, he hated seeing her in such a state. A rose deserved to be basking in the sun and swaying in the wind, not withering away in front of a dozen buzzing monitors.
So he made it a point to invite her out on missions whenever she could afford herself to be stolen away.
And that's what their mission to the mines should’ve been. Just an easy excuse to take his crush out of that stuffy office.
But one thing led to another and the next thing he knew, he couldn’t even offer a shoulder for her to lean on.
.
.
.
If Amy seemed depressed before the metal virus, she was down right miserable now. But honestly, he wasn’t doing much better himself. He could barely sleep and needed to be on the move constantly, lest the virus spread further and further through his exhausted body.
Before he was infected, he never noticed how often the two would exchange little touches. From the shoulder holds he would offer in consolation, to lingering touch in the place their fingers overlapped for just a few seconds too long when he needed to pass something to her.
There had just been too many close calls where he had reached out to hold her before he caught himself and quickly pulled back in embarrassment. He wanted to be close to her so bad he was absentmindedly putting the entire operation at risk.
After he realized that, he decided it was best he kept his distance.
Best for Amy, best for the resistance, and best for his heart.

I literally can't get enough of your writing like I need it like oxygen at this point 🙌 I am not above begging for more of Everything is alright or Over it now
My heart is literally hurting for Star because he genuinely didn't know, and he finally is starting to be vulnerable, and now he knows it's not going to last no matter what. And the inner turmoil of the reader being so torn between him and Soundwave? Wanting both but not being able to hurt Star after he put everything at risk?? It's so good but it hurts my heart 😭😭
And Jazz finally getting someone who would listen to his feelings and get to know the real him under all his masks?? The poor guy needs that so bad, and he's finally opening up (even if she can't understand what he's saying)
All in all, your writing is amazing, and you are literally amazing ✨️✨️✨️
Thank you! I have a lot of fun overthinking why the characters act the way they do and trying to get into their heads
Over It Now Pt 11
IDW Jazz x Reader
• “You could just let me take you,” he says as he watches you lock the door and do an awkward shuffle to put the keys away while trying to not drop one of your crutches in the process. Leaving him for work again. Wanting to help, but also knowing exactly how stubborn you are as you eye the stairs off your porch. He’d also figured out forgiveness was much easier to ask for than permission, reaching to lift you in his servos and carefully set you down in the driveway crutches and all bypassing the steps and then backing up to fall forward into his alt mode.
• Heart racing at being picked up unexpectedly, you warm watching his antics. Because he knows you struggle with the steps and he’d saved you from dealing with them when he didn’t have to. “We both know you have better things to do than chauffeur me around,” you say, trying not to laugh when he opens the driver’s side door and wags it back and forth in invitation.
• “Come for a ride, doll. I’ll behave.” Door still open, he fully expects you to walk past him to your own ugly car, so it’s a surprise when you slide in the driver’s seat and awkwardly lean the crutches in the passenger side. And then you’re right there and he’s more aware of you this way somehow than when he’s held you in his servos. You’re warm against him, soft hands brushing the steering wheel hesitantly as if not sure if it’s okay and he can smell your soap, your shampoo, you. “Alright,” he murmurs more to himself than to you, because it’s a small thing, but you’re entrusting yourself to him. And that means so much.
• There’s no way to not overthink that you’re sitting inside Jazz and it’s weird. You end up folding your hands in your lap so you don’t touch anything you shouldn’t. Inhaling as the shifter moves on its own and then the wheel spins as he reverses. “Doll, you’re going to have to at least pretend to drive,” he laughs and he’s right. Other drivers might notice you’re just sitting there so you just barely touch your palms to the wheel, letting it move freely against your skin.
• Primus, you’re precious. Eyes darting all over his interior, trying so hard not to touch anything. “What do you do normally? I mean a phantom car driving itself has to freak people out,” you mumble, shifting against him as he turns onto the road, wheels humming. Liking the feel of having you there, surrounded by him and safe, it takes a moment to actually understand your question. It’s not nearly the same as holding you in his hands, but still comforting to him that you’re there with him. It doesn’t take a lot of energy, but he does have to concentrate to create a holomatter avatar in the passenger side seat to show you what he normally does, not bothering to make it solid at all since your crutches are embedded in the avatar’s legs and torso and your head turns as it appears. He’s not sure what he expected, but it’s definitely not for you to scream and throw yourself against the inside of his door.
• “It’s me. It’s an avatar,” the glitchy thing in the passenger seat is saying in Jazz’s voice, holding up big hands as you nearly have a heart attack. “Doll, it’s okay. Sorry, I just-frag.” And the human shaped thing flickers and fades, leaving your heart hammering against your ribs. You’re still plastered to the door, hands curled into fists. “Were you going to punch me?” Yes. You absolutely were, because it had just been there so suddenly, a fixed grin on a fake looking face that was staring right at you, Eyes closing you lean your forehead against the cool glass of the driver’s side window and try to calm down and instead start laughing. Covering your face with your hands as he vents at you in exasperation, blowing warm air across your skin and you realize he’s never asked where you work, an address or anything. So how does he know where to take you? Has he been following you?

Rare But Not So Rare Sonic Moments. Character Analysis.
Crying
A weird topic I’m more then happy to discuss.
Mandate: “Sonic’s not allowed to get overly emotional.”
I’m starting to think the mandates do break in a few instances. This one specifically is something I’m quite interested in because this is probably one of the rarest emotions Sonic displays. Getting sad/emotional.
Hopefully this essay will be a positive outlook on the mandate.
(Despite being a discussion about negative emotions.)
Examples Of Sonic Getting Emotional
I might not include everything, but the examples I have knowledge of will be stated. If you have anymore examples, I’d love to see them.
SATAM: Sonic cried when he and the Freedomfighters had to leave his Uncle Chuck in Robotnik’s lab.
Archie: The times Sonic cried/teared up was when the weight of a situation got to him, when something tragic occurred and all hope was lost, or when he was filled with joy after those instances ended. Those moments like others, didn’t go too far. (For the most part)
Pretty sure he never out right sobbed.
Underground: I think Sonic only cried when he was a little kid.
Correct me if I’m wrong.
X: In episode 52 Sonic allowed his tears to shed with his head turned away from us. He and Chris ran one last time before Sonic left through a portal to go home forever. It obviously crushed him even if we didn’t see his face.
Boom: Sonic cried/teared up in two episodes of the show. First when Tails was reminiscing about the Tornado and noticed Sonic wiping his eyes. Sonic replied, “What?” Then he, Knuckles, and Tails all cried when they thought the baby they took care of was gone. Also, in Archie when Stick’s rock friend broke or “Died,” everyone in team Boom morned it. Sonic included.
IDW: Sonic shed tears in the Scrapnick Island Issue. Even if it was “Mecha Sonic’s” tears I’ll count it anyways because it’s a good loophole and it came out of Sonic’s eyes.
Movie 1: It’s implied he indeed cried during the baseball scene. The sources being a deleted scene and story-board of the film.
Prime: This doesn’t really count, but Sonic teared up in the first episode when he was held captive by the Chaos Council and had light blasted in his eyes, when he was in darkness. Then Sonic actually cried in episode 7 when he ate a seadog. Either because he was home-sick or starving.
(In the last episode of season two it’s implied he might cry in the next episode. Especially with the shot of him looking on the verge of tears and then covered his eyes in the background of the last shot, but we’ll see.)
By the way. You can see the instant improvement from episode 1 to 7 of the tears animation. Just thought I’d say that.
My Overall Thoughts
Hold on because this is going to be a long ride.
First thing I’d like to discuss is the mandate itself.
I personally don’t believe it means, “Sonic shouldn’t cry.”
(Which has been stated a bunch)
If that were the case, I don’t think this majority of moments (specifically the recent ones) would’ve happened. I think the mandate meant Sonic couldn’t and or shouldn’t go too far with his emotions. I don’t think the mandate existing makes any since, but I won’t get into that.
My point is, Sonic can cry, just not in an overly dramatized way unless it’s done for comedic purposes.
(I say that because of Sonic Boom and the 7th episode of Prime examples. Which are obviously not meant to be taken seriously)
My opinions on Sonic crying.
It’s not necessarily needed, but I don’t mind if it’s done well. I do believe Sonic shouldn’t go too far unless the situation does.
One Issue in Archie when Sonic’s entire life was basically ruined, is a good example. If you’re going to have such calamities happen to him, especially since he has zero ego or mask to hold onto, I think it’s a fair enough scenario for him to react as drastic as his misfortune.
But I believe if he were to cry in something like the Metal Virus. (Just for an example) it could be like how Espio teared up after Vector’s sacrifice.
Crazy idea. Let’s talk about Shadow for a minute.
Shadow is one of the most stoic characters in the entire franchise. He barely smiles, gets excited, or displays any overly positive emotions. While Sonic rarely cries, gets angry, or shows any harsh negative emotions. Shadow and Sonic are opposites because of that.
Sonic’s overall a positive and outgoing guy who wants to keep moving forward. Whenever he has the time to worry, he runs. Faces his problems head on. Sonic only let’s a small amount of his true emotions out when helping someone else. In general Sonic’s a pretty optimistic character.
Shadow on the other hand is a reserved and serious guy. Who wants what’s best for the world too, but in a more calculated and planned out manner. But for some reason, in Sonic Adventure 2 after Amy encouraged Shadow to save the world, (Which reminded him of Maria’s real wish) He sheds a tear.
I repeat. Shadow is the most stoic character in the entire franchise. Who rarely shows his emotions. And yet he cries.
Why can’t Sonic? To be fair, Sonic usually doesn’t have time to think, let alone worry about how he feels. But if Shadow himself can have a short moment of releasing his emotional baggage, why can’t the blue blur?
Is Sonic even as happy as he let’s on?
I’d say he’s genuinely happy half of the time. Then the other half Sonic’s internalizing everything negative in him. Everyone knows Sonic’s overall upbeat, but we’ve seen plenty of times (In the Metal Virus specifically) when he’s thinking, or enduring the chaos around him, he doubts himself. Sonic has these insecurities and emotions he barely let’s anyone see.
Besides Issue #24
Even in Sonic Prime while Sonic shows the most guilt, sincerity, anger, fear, and sadness in the show. He sometimes still puts on a front and acts like everything’s fine.
Sonic Unleashed I’m pretty sure was the first and only time we’ve seen him mope for a minute. All because Amy didn’t know who he was. So, he does have some level of insecurities lingering every once in a while.
Can Sonic crying even work?
How I interpret him crying is when he’s alone. Some people theorize in certain instances like SA2 and Unleashed with Shadow and Chip’s sacrifices, he cried a little. I’m fascinated by this idea. I believe it’s the most in character way to let him cry. Maybe even something like X when his face isn’t shown, but you know how he’s feeling.
Even if we do see Sonic’s face, him crying or tearing up could be shown without being over the top. Normalize it in a way that doesn’t fly off the handle. His expression could have a hint of frustration, anger, or exhaustion. Crying is normal and I don’t see Sonic crying as out of character because it’s been done plenty of times.
It’d be nice if it happened in order to make Sonic feel more believable and sympathetic. As long as the dude’s not on the floor whaling, I’m sure it can work.
Final Thoughts
There are other ways to show Sonic’s emotions. Again, crying doesn’t have to happen, but it does help the writing feel less unnecessarily limited of what kind of emotions can be displayed on this character.
Though there are benefits too. Like finding fun loopholes or small animated details like in IDW and Prime. Sonic not crying so much makes the times he does (or may do in the future) feel earned and impactful. The examples before prove it can be done without taking away what makes Sonic who he is. It just needs to be subtle, quiet, and quick. (Or humorous) Depends on what you think.
At the end of it all, Sonic’s a tough hedgehog. Him shedding a few tears won’t ever change that.
Stay Creative! 💜

Can I request a scenerio where there's a version Ophelia that lives in the IDW verse? How would life be like for her in the IDW verse? What would IDW Megatron treat her before she eventually defected? And how would she react to Megatron in the trial giving a speech of how the decepticons are over? And how would they meet up eventually on the lost light?
YES!
Time to meet IDW Ophelia!
Hope you enjoy!
IDW Ophelia
SFW, Platonic, Familial, Slight Angst, Cybertronian reader
MTMTE/IDW
Megatron met Ophelia first while he was still a miner and before she even had a name.
After moving to a new location.
After not being able to find Terminus in time…
He had noticed her from afar at first.
She was one of the sparklings in the area that would try and sneak into the caves and steal a couple of shards of raw energon.
The angrier bots would try and catch her, but she always disappears into one of the ssmaller holes in the caverns.
There were a couple of the miners who hated the sparkling trying to steal their work, while others pitied the little thing trying to survive.
If she was lucky, a miner would casually ‘drop’ a shard.
Megatron was guilty of doing such an action.
Megatron pushing his cart and sees a pair of optics in one of the holes in the cavern. He knew those optics. The miner ‘accidentally' dropped a shard and kicked it near the hole. Megatron: “Go on little one.” A pair of small servos reach out and snatches the shard. The sparkling pokes their little helm out and gives him a small smile before going back.
She was the smallest sparkling he had ever seen and never seemed to get enough fueling.
The sparkling had seemed to take a liking to him too.
She seemed to follow him everywhere, even once he moved into the gladiator arenas, the small sparkling always seemed to find him.
He grew accustomed of having a tiny shadow running behind him after finding out she did follow him so far from the mines.
Megatron writing on a data pad. The sparkling sitting on the ground: “What are you writing?” Megatron pauses before looking down. Megatron: “I am writing to try and change the future of our world little one.” Sparkling tilts her helm: “It must be nice.” Megatron hands her one of his drafts. Megatron: “This is a draft for one of the writings I have done. You can read it if you like.” The sparkling looks down: “I can’t read.” Megatron blinks before scooping her up with one servo and plopping her on his lap. The sparkling looks at him curiously. He points to one of the glyphs. Megatron: “Can you repeat after me?” The sparkling smiled repeating the sounds that came out of his voice.
It was at that moment Megatron had decided to take the sparkling under his wing.
The gladiator would later introduce the sparkling to his companions and coworkers.
Some include Soundwave, Rumble, Frenzy, Impactor, Starscream and Orion Pax.
Orion was someone special to the sparkling.
Not only was Orion one of the best sparkling sitters he could ask for, but in many ways, his sparkling and Orion had similar mannerisms and actions.
Some joked around saying that the sparkling was Orion’s.
Megatron laughed at those as well because the pair did act a lot alike.
Megatron came to pick up his sparkling. He sees her perched on Orion shoulder’s holding his finals. Megatron: “Orion.” Orion and the sparkling turn to him at the same time, both sporting a similar happy look in their optics. Orion waved and the sparkling waved. Orion and the sparkling: “Megatron!” Megatron laughs at the confused look on both the bots faces when they realized they said the exact thing.
When Orion is not an option to look after her, Megatron leaves his sparkling with Soundwave.
The sparkling loves playing around with Soundwave and his minicons.
Ravage has already told the gladiator that Frenzy and Rumble were trying to convince Soundwave to keep the sparkling.
He doesn’t know what to feel about that, but he knows that his sparkling will be safe with them.
Fun fact: Megatron (before the war) did trust Starscream to look after his sparkling, but only for short amounts of time.
It is only for a short amount of time because of what happened the last time he left her with the Seeker.
Megatron coming back from talking with Orion. Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker are all covered with oil, soot, and bits of rock. The sparkling happily slept in Starscream’s sub space. Elite Trine: “…” Megatron: “… Wh—” Starscream in a hushed voice: “Your sparkling is a menace.” Megatron: “What.” Starscream opens his sub space and passes him his clean sparkling before marching out the room. Megatron blinks readjusting his servo. The sparkling simply snuggles closer to his chassis. Megatron: “And what exactly happened?” Thundercracker: “I think its best if you don’t know.” Skywarp: “Just a lot of oil, rocks, buildings, and plenty of warping to put me out of commission till next solar cycle.”
When Megatron gets arrested, Orion is the one to come in and take care of the sparkling.
If she’d had gone with Soundwave or any bot who identified as a Decepticon, there was sure to be a target on the little one’s helm.
With Orion, thanks to their similar mannerisms could easily be seen as his sparkling.
The first few days, the sparkling constantly asks Orion where Megatron was.
He did eventually tell her where he was being held and why it was important to stay with him now.
The sparkling does take some time to get used to… everything, but with Orion’s help it becomes easier.
Orion takes the sparkling with him to meet other bots like Ratchet, Prowl, Chromedome, Jazz, and Roller.
In Senator Shockwave’s place for Outliers Also known as the Cybertronian version of the X mansion. The sparkling is struggling to sit on one of the slabs in the lab. The Senator is giving Orion and Ratchet the tour of the lab while Chromedome, Skids, Roller, Windcharger, and Glitch are talking amongst themselves. Senator Shockwave patting a machine: “This machine can tell us a bots percentage of being an outlier.” Ratchet: “Why a percentage?” Senator Shockwave: “Because no one knows who an outlier is or when. Sometimes it takes years to even find—” BEEP BEEP! The screen read ONE PERCENTER. Senator Shockwave: “Roller do not touch the slab.” Roller: “I’m not touching the slab.” Everybody looks over at the small sparkling who had a happy smile finally getting onto the slab to sit. Everyone: “…” Senator Shockwave: “By the Matrix… Orion did you—” Orion goes over to pick her up. Orion: “No. And I have no doubt Megatron isn’t any of the wiser.” Roller pats the sparkling on the helm. Roller: “Welcome to the club little outlier.”
The pair had agreed to keep this new secret under wraps, at least until it was safer.
Orion did read to her bits of his manifestos as she was still learning who to read and write, which was coming along even faster with him around.
She loved hearing his voice while he read.
Once Megatron was released, Orion expected Megatron to come for his sparkling.
Yet, the mech didn’t show his face to him or his sparkling.
There wasn’t even any talk from the Decepticons about getting her back.
The sparkling knew this, yet she still patiently waited for her father to come back.
Orion coming back from work to see her by the window looking at the city. She looks over at him and gives him a tired smile. Orion puts his stuff down and takes a seat next to her. Silence. Orion hears a bit of a sniffle from the sparkling. The sparkling continued to look out the window: “Do… do you think he even remembers I exist anymore? It has been a long time…” Orion: “Of course he does. And I am sure he will be fighting any bot who tries to stop him from reuniting with you.” The sparkling clenches her servos: “Then why isn’t he here? Why hasn’t he sent Soundwave, or Ravage or even Starscream to come for me?! He’s been out long enough! Why isn’t he here!?” Orion gently places a servo on her shoulder. The sparkling immediately goes to his chassis and sobs: “Why?! Does he not want me? Why doesn’t he want me?! Orion why doesn’t he want me?” Orion pulls her into a hug and holds her close.
It isn’t long after this interaction that the war starts.
And the sparkling once again has to lose a guardian.
Thankfully this time she wasn’t alone.
It does take time for her to get used to Optimus Prime, but soon enough he becomes another guardian.
He wasn’t quite like Orion, but there was enough still in there.
She had been thinking about joining the Decepticons early in the war, being indecisive of which side to choose or to just leave the planet all together.
It isn’t until she meets Ultra Magnus that she chooses a side.
She chooses to be an Autobot.
She gets a mech suit built for her.
With the combination of the suits force and her outlier strength she soon becomes a powerhouse on the battlefield.
It became a ritual for most recruits to meet her and then see the real her.
That stopped quickly after a few bots defected to the Decepticon’s.
But she did it to the human allies.
Verity looking at the tall bot. Verity: “Wow, you’re a big bot aren’t ya.” Springer and Impactor chuckle a bit. Impactor: “Hey kid, you hear that? Verity wants to meet you.” A pair of large optics looks down at the human. Suddenly the chassis of the bot opens and a minibot comes out. The minibot holds out her servo to Verity: “Hello, you must be Verity.” Verity blinks several times before placing her tiny hand in the bots larger one. Verity: “Yeah, I’m Verity. What’s your name?” The minibot looked at her: “I don’t exactly have one, but I accept any given nicknames.” Verity: “What? Why don’t you have a name?” Springer: “Its for safety reasons. Her father is a dangerous mech. If he ever got wind about her location—” Impactor: “The effects would be worse than Ironfist not being able to find his data pads, but at a global scale.” Verity: “So… really bad. Okay good to know… but what if you went by a different name? A name from Earth? That way your dad won’t be able to find ya and you have a name?” The minibot looked at her curiously: “I’ve gotten used to all the nicknames… what name did you have in mind?” Verity unslings her back bag trying to get her computer when a small book falls out. The minibot hands Verity back the book: “What is this?” Verity: “Oh its an old book a friend of mine lent. It called Hamlet—I GOT IT!” The bots jump from the sudden noise. Verity points at the minibot: “How does Ophelia?” The minibot tries saying the name: “Oophelia? Ophelia.” Ophelia smiles at the human picking her up and giving her a quick hug. Ophelia: “I love it!”
Ophelia was on Earth when she had received word that the war was over.
It felt so unreal finally hearing those words, that she stayed on Earth for a bit longer before returning to Cybertron.
It was on the way that she had also heard of Optimus taking time to go somewhere now that the war was over.
As sparkbroken as she was, Ophelia still decided to join the Lost Light.
It wasn’t like Cybertron had been her home anyways, maybe amongst the stars she would find a place worth calling home.
Ophelia kept the suit on for most of the time on board, only dawning it when trouble arose.
Part of her wishes she’d stay in the suit because the moment someone pointed out she was the youngest crew member, there always seemed to be something she couldn’t do because she was young.
Ophelia at Swerve sitting with Rodimus and Ultra Magnus about to order some drinks. Magnus: “Ophelia you cannot get that.” Ophelia: “Why not? It’s a good drink?” Magnus: “It contains engex.” Rodimus: “Relax Magnus. She’s old enough to take that drink. It’s just a bit.” Magnus: “Actually Rodimus, she is still young enough for the engex to affect her processor.” Rodimus: “Wait, you’re THAT young? How did you join the crew anyway?” Ophelia facepalming: “Like everyone else Rodimus. I signed a data pad, and I was cleared.” Later… Ophelia talking to Whirl about going to the range. Whirl: “You sure about that Itty? Don’t wanna scare ya or anything.” Ophelia slightly glared at Whirl’s joke. Ophelia: “Whirl you’ve seen me in action with the Wrecker’s. Going to the range is nothing in comparison.” Tailgate appearing out of nowhere: “Excuse me you’re going to the what?! The range is NOT a place where sparklings should be.” Ophelia: “I’m not a sparkling Tailgate!” Cyclonus: “Compared to everyone here you are Ophelia.” Ophelia: “I’m a 1 percenter. I could literally bench press several bot your size and not feel a thing, even more with the suit on.” Tailgate pats her helm: “Shhh…” Ophelia facepalms as the other minibot leads her away from the range and to his habsuite to listen to ‘real’ Cybertronian music.
Ophelia had insisted on staying on the ship when it docked on Cybertron.
It was something that Rodimus needed to do apparently.
She was at Swerve’s when the news of Megatron renouncing Decepticonism came out.
The minibot didn’t know what to think of it.
Half over her rejoiced her father—Megatron, had found his way.
But the other was in conflict, a bit surprised that he was even online.
The moment Ophelia heard that HE was going to come aboard, she dawned her suit.
She needed to prepare for anything that came with his arrival, from an outburst to bots turning on her if they ever found out her relation with him.
Ophelia in the suit with Ultra Magnus at the ship’s entrance. Megatron was walking with Rodimus and several guards behind them. Ophelia felt the hungry sparkling that looked at him in fear and curiosity from her hole. She didn’t hear what Magnus and Rodimus had said but slowly offered her servo to him. Ophelia: “Welcome to the Lost Light Megatron.” Megatron looked at her suspiciously and then at her servo as if she laced it with poison. Hesitantly he gave it a quick shake. She nodded and showed him to his quarters, not noticing the felicon also boarding the ship.

Saw someone say "Megatron and Optimus barely interact in IDW1" and that feels like a very has-only-read-MTMTE thing to say kskdodndd because like sure they didn't co-star in the same long running series for 50+ issues like other characters did (like MTMTE characters interacting with each other or exRID or WB/TAAO) but to say they BARELY interact??? They interact a lot both in superficial "blah we're fighting a war" ways and in super lore important moments/series and also in incredibly homosexual there-is-no-straight-explanation-for-this moments like
Off the top of my head these are some series/storylines/issues where they interact directly. Defining interaction as anything from "the whole story is about them" to "their interaction is a plot element but not necessarily the main focus" to "they interact but only for a few lines":
The Autocracy trilogy (Autocracy, Monstrosity, Primacy)
Stormbringer
All Hail Megatron
The Transformers ongoing 2009 (with emphasis on Chaos Theory and Police Action for the most gay moments)
That one issue where Megatron grabs OP's spark through his chest Mortal Kombat style
Dark Cybertron
MTMTE (past OP in Elegant Chaos, Functionist Universe OP, and current day OP during Dark Cybetron and Megatron's trial)
And then there's other times where IDW1 Megatron and Optimus aren't in front of each other interacting/speaking with each other but are still thinking of each other:
The prelude to Dying of the Light where OP hears the LL distress signal and is afraid (not explicitly for Megatron but like he put Megatron on that ship)
MTMTE, Megatron tells Ravage that something he said to Optimus was the turning point of how he viewed himself
MTMTE again, Megatron all but says aloud that he made Tarn into Tarn to spite Optimus
One of the GI Joe crossovers where Optimus symathizes with a Joe over what it feels like 'to believe in someone who everyone else sees as past redemption' while an image of Megatron is literally behind him in his thoughts
So like, IDW MegOP has plenty of canon interactions and even if not all of them are very long moments (i.e. are only a few lines alluding to each other) there's still plenty of interactions between them. Plus I would say that it's pretty powerful how even the small, blink-and-you-miss-it dialogue moments actually indicate that Megatron and Optimus view each other as focal points where different decisions/beliefs they had revolved in some way around the other person. I think it's cool and compelling that IDW Megatron and Optimus express so often (even if only in thought) that the other person shaped who they became, or THEY did something specifically in reaction/spite towards the other, or where something they did to the other troubles them and lingers in their minds.
#megop#most of the moments where they think of each other even when apart are by JRO#bc 1. JRO is a megop fanboy and 2. JRO actually writes character relationships and not just plot w dashes of relationships#squiggposting#anyways you know that i'm always here to be an idw megop salesman lmao#and i think it's really romantic how much idw megs and idw op like. revolve around each other#bc imo good ship dynamics arent just the explicitly romantic or friendly things but like#the mutual respect. the influence on each other. the memories of each other#seeing the other person as a key influence in your life or someone who you sought to affect in some way#thinking about the other person even when theyre a galaxy away#using your memories of how you treated that person as a reflection of how you view yourself as a person#knowing enough about someone to know when theyre bullshitting or are hiding depth (OP to M)#knowing someone well enough to know their weaknesses vulnerabilities and desires (M to OP)#like with idw megop there's enough in canon to support the idea 'yeah these guys are intimate w each other'#not sexually but in the sense they know each other as people and thus have the foundation for a relationship

alright I know you haven't talked about this in a while but you're pretty correct about the way jazzprowl is written usually being weird. One or both of them is always portrayed in a weird offensive way (it's either racist towards jazz, portrays prowl as an ableist stereotype, BOTH, and MORE)
I agree with this. It took me a while to think of what I could add to this and I think I'd also say: it's important for everyone to know that when I see people injecting bonus ableism into fics with these characters in them, Jazz is also normally portrayed as an ableist stereotype (racist as well as ableist)! Whenever Jazz is written as being super disruptive, lazy, and chaotic, or when he's written as super violent and scary and people use terms like "schizo" (I'm sorry but I've seen it) to describe him, these all fall into the overlap between racism and ableism. It's the same bigotry that in the real world results in Black men and boys to be deemed disruptive and violent over their peers. And I probably don't need to say it at this point, but the character Jazz has never been portrayed like this in any media, not even close. And there has also never been canon media where Jazz disrupts an ultra-rigid Prowl into changing anything about himself (and there never should be because that sucks). Hey, is now a good time to point out that in the G1 comics, as far as I can tell Prowl is just one of the many, many Autobots who are massive Blaster fans and they have nothing but positive interactions, and Blaster in those comics actually is a super disruptive, loud, angry, sometimes violent character? I mean, they have to be friends because they both hate Grimlock....
I also think something I haven't discussed as often but is equally important is that we should all be looking at canon with a critical eye as well. If you look at the way some IDW writers like James Roberts, Nick Roche, and John Barber wrote the characters, they utilized a lot of extremely problematic tropes as well. For example, I personally balk every time I see someone saying that Barber did Jazz justice, when what he did to him was make his entire story center on cops and police brutality and barely let him grow or find any community. He also decided that Jazz's backstory would be that he was a beat cop on Cybertron... I think it's bizarre for anyone to look at how Jazz has been portrayed over time and think it makes total sense for that of all things to be his backstory. I'll also just never forgive Barber for writing that issue where he had Prowl point a gun at Jazz's head to get his attention, and had Jazz making fatphobic jokes about Prowl (weird in context for SO many reasons), and also tried to resolve the issue with some kind of friendship moment despite all of that.
Roche, JRo, and Barber also knowingly took every trait Prowl had as a character before their stories—ones easy to perceive as signs of disability—and twisted them into signs of cartoonish evil (I know Barber seems to think he did not write him as a flat evil character, but he's kidding himself). Understandable meltdowns about stressful situations and injustice get turned into a running gag and scary villainy, a lack of social awareness and literal thinking get turned into the most flatly evil dialogue I've ever seen ("You can apologize later," anyone?), a drive to make everything just and fair and better for everyone gets turned into arrogance (Barber, the fact that you wrote this character saying something like, "What's morality got to do with any of this?" means you failed). I especially hate these decisions because these writers also showed a ton of favoritism towards this character. You could feel how much they LOVED making him as revolting as possible while also making sure that instead of facing reasonable consequences he'd always go through the most disturbing, traumatic, worst shit ever so there wasn't even the catharsis of fair consequences... while also giving him tons of prominence.
I say all of this because both canon and fandom works should be examined critically and that IMO it's not only a good idea to not make things worse in fanworks, but also probably a good idea to go along with the better parts of canon and not the super problematic parts.
#It's starting to seem like my acc may have been terminated for a day due to being reported for spam over some hot take I posted#time to be even spicier I guess LMAO#racism#ableism#transformers#maccadam#Jazz#Prowl#JazzProwl#my analysis#long post

Random Lore and Trivia from SONIC RIVALS 2 (2007)
Let's just jump into it
Tails has been training with Sonic to keep up and is faster now (2007-Present) then he was previously (1992-2006)
Due to Eggman Nega in this game, Silver temporarily had to deal with ANOTHER Future on fire
luckily Silver & Espio, Shadow & Metal Sonic, Sonic, & Knuckles defeated the ifrit (somehow, this game's narrative progresses weirdly) preventing yet another timeline of Silver living in Hell
On the same topic, Silver & Espio form a close bond. This marks the second time that Silver and Purple character with yellow eyes saved the future from a fiery inferno. The first Being Silver & Blaze in 06 (which they don't remember btw for anyone behind on sonic)
This Silver & Espio dynamic actually briefly returned in the IDW Comics in one of Silver's few good moments (Not a huge fan of Soft Twink woobified Silver after playing Rivals & 06 since he's just annoying and looks strange but this scene was fun)
One more Silver thing, his primary character trait in 06 & the Rivals Duology (I also hear colors and Olympics ds but I haven't played those) is just how blunt he is towards everyone. Far more than Shadow and Sonic. This was also somewhat seen in 06 with his frustration with Amy but it's more prominent in Rivals. The duology has an issue of making everyone meaner than they should be but Rivals 2 tries to let their personalities shine above that (Sonic, Tails, & Espio are completely normal)
Here are some scenes that just felt right to me
Ok FINAL SILVER FR!! In the end of Silver & Espio's story, they leave Eggman Nega with his legs stuck under rumble in the evil ifrit portal. It is unknown how Eggman Nega ever escaped but he later appeared in a Japanese Sonic Channel comic about Blaze in 2016 so I guess he didn't die.
The Rivals games show that Metal Sonic in his non-overlord form, cannot speak but he is also alot less independent and now Metal Sonic has these weird clanky voice lines here and in the Olympics. I blame Dr. Eggman
Speaking of Eggman Nega, lemme explain him based on what I gathered from Rush, Rivals 1&2, Rush Adventure, and Sonic Channel
Read below
Eggman Nega is descendant of Eggman from sometime in the future. In Rush, he teams up with his ancestor (Dr. Eggman) to cause chaos for the Sol Dimension and Sonic's world (I like to call it the Chaos Dimension) Nega pretends to be an inhabitant of the Sol Dimension in Rush for unknown reasons. In Rivals he causes chaos in the standard past
Eggman Nega blames his failures on his Ancestor and by Rivals 2 just completely hates that idiot Eggman (I think he also had animosity towards him in Rivals 1, I forgor)
The main thing that separates Eggman Nega from Dr. Eggman in every game he's in except Sonic Rush, is that Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik wants to rule the world as a machine centric dictator (in the classic genesis games and Rush Adventure through colors, he wanted an evil themepark).
Meanwhile Eggman Nega only craves destruction and chaos and is much more unconventional. In Rivals he tries to turn the planet into a card. In Rush Adventure after his plans fail, he attemps to fire his "planet buster laser" to blow up the planet completely (not just the Shattered earth Eggman would later make in Unleashed) but is stopped by Marine, Super Sonic, & Burning Blaze, and in Rivals 2 he awakens the ancient Ifrit to burn everything (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Rouge still think Eggman did that because they missed all the Nega reveals)
Eggman Nega also makes his own Metal Sonic here. "Metal Sonic Version 3.0" (pronounced 3 point zero, not 3 point oh)
Archie fans may notice that this guy's paint job was stolen verbatim by Shard in those comics
Finally, Sonic Rivals 2 showcases Espio communicating with Vector but not Charmy
On the topic of Espio, not counting comics the only media he's in without Metal Sonic is Sonic X & Shadow the Hedgehog.
All his other debuts are pretty metal centric. Chaotix, Fighters, Heroes, Rivals 2, Mobile Games. He hasn't been major since

Shadow generation. Impression (from the videos).
Only about the story.
Actually I didn't play the game, I just watched the cutscenes. Maybe I will buy the game someday.
First - the non spoiler thing:
Shadow's story has few aim: being fun and having a compelling character to control. Nothing complicated. So, although nothing special, it is pleasant, simple and relaxing. Also for once Shadow is not tied on certain Sonic rules that don't allow for more than few actions. Is a character that can open several scenarios. Speed and agility might be the mandatory characteristics but he can potentially do many things Sonic can't.
Shadow himself is better than what he used to be the last decade. Is not perfect (but I'm a fan of Maekawa's Shadow as I stated more than once in previous posts), but finally is relatable again. Seeing emphasis on the Doom Powers in the preview, I excepted him being a super edgelord, even worse than the one in IDW comics and without flaws, instead we see him being vulnerable, suffering the side effects of not taking care of his well being and a interesting side about his personality that can teach one thing or two to Sonic.
The spoiler (characters):
Maria, how much we waited to know her.
We hear about her since 2001, we saw pictures of her over and over but we never knew who she was. She was this gostly, mysterious figure in Sonic adventure 2 (I was wondering: "How comes this innocent looking good girl wish for total destruction? Something is not right!"). For long people assumed she was pretty much a strong person, but we never knew for sure.
She is a young teenager. The way she thinks shows that she's not exactly a child. But she's still extremely spontaneous because she has no real life friends around telling her she must act like an adult. So she still jump when excited and has lots of childish characteristics normally at her age and maturity she would have outgrow.
Her only two friends on ARK are one literal child, and an alien/hedgehog with no social skills. They would not pressure her into acting proper because they know nothing.
Idealized? Maybe. But we are seeing the story through Shadow's eyes. That's the point.
Also, finally she doesn't look anymore like a vintage italian doll. First time I saw her I wondered who was the one who though at that, uh, not so great design.
Gerard
Hints from Sonic Adventure 2 suggested that Gerard and Shadow are very similar. But Gerard has on his side the wisdom that comes from age. Also, unlike Shadow, his way longer life experience has been varied, with both good and bad moments, shaping a more mature and less emotional personality.
We never knew what was the relationship between Shadow and Gerard. For now we learned the bads, Gerard getting mad and turning Shadow into a weapon, condemning him to a miserable life.
But, both the Maria and Gerard we see in SxS gen are from before the raid, so we see the fatherly side of Gerard. Surely when he created Shadow, he didn't consider him a living being. But then he learned to love him. He's rightfully his son after all, even if an artificial being.
I'm glad Gerard and Maria aren't Black Doom illusions who serve him but they're the real ones, and they truly help Shadow though this adventure. Clearly they understand what is going on, and even that in the future they will not be on Shadow's side. So they decided to help him as much as they can to make him taking the right decision.
Shadow
Now, I think I have a lot to say about Shadow, he is both the protagonist and the main character.
He showed us sides of his personality that were either hidden and/or forgotten for a long time. Knowing his story he gave me the impression he was just forced to grow against his will.
Maekawa's Shadow used to be balanced, surely stubborn/laser focused, very quiet but also mischievous, good hearted and capable to take care of his well being. But after Sonic 06 his personality was changed into a cold, selfish mean edgelord without remeding qualities, that was on the good side just because of his whims. That was what made him into a joke among fans and a hero only among (few) kids aged 15 and below.
But now we seems we are starting from the basis. Peraphs Shadow will one day be similar to what he used to be. His personality will not change overnight, that would be jarring, it will be gradual. I hope he will act more rationally and balanced from now and in the future.
The side effect of his lack of self care.
They started from his superhuman laser focus and his stubborness, traits that were especially underlined after Sonic 06:
What if this slowly takes a tool on his mind? From dark beginnings, we see that Shadow is at his limits. His focus start to fade, he gets distracted easily by both his own tiredness and outside distractions. Dangerously on breaking point since he can get on the verge of panic attacks. And he is very harsh toward himself. Not just 'focus' but also 'what are you doing? Stop daydreaming'. Seems the hard hearted father toward his son. The only reason he doesn't get slapped for not being a good boy is because he can't slap himself.
Family.
Though he is nowadays known to be a loner... I wasn't and I am not so sure about this trait. Introverted for sure but I remember him always surrounded by friends (still in smaller groups than Sonic) in Maekawa's stories. Rouge and Omega in Heroes and 06, Knuckles, Amy and Blaze in Black Knight. In Adventure 2 he was alone, but he was a good team worker.
He feels more like lonely. In SxS Gen he was so happy to have found his family again and so hopeful to have a second chance that he seemed quite in good mood with everybody. Rouge, Gerard and Maria were very kind toward him, but they also did want him being real, to prepare him to the outcome. A real family (Maria and Gerard) and a real friend (Rouge).
Now, that's might be my interpretation, but Shadow seemed to wanting to show his progresses to his family, maybe to hear their approvations. And he searched their advices, listening carefully, being a good boy for people that are way kinder toward him than himself.
And now the thing Sonic needs to learn from Shadow (perhaps also Shadow from himself). Shadow is capable to be open and sincere toward his family more than how Sonic is toward those that consider his family (Tails). Maybe Shadow is afraid to open up toward Rouge because of this, SxS Gen, Sonic Adventures, Heroes, 06 and Sonic Battle showed that contrary to popular beliefs, Shadow is quite bad at hiding his emotions. He might not cry but is behaviour pattern changes noticeably. And he doesn't seems that annoyed when Rouge lend him her voice when he is unable to speak.
Normal and upset.
Mmmh is OK, I was just a bit tired, you know, running around...
Shadow is surprising again.
Well when you see a face like this:
What do you think the outcome would be?
The first surprise was discovering he was way more chill than what his face suggest. It is always a welcome feeling when a character surprises you in one or more ways. I'm always on the edge when I see Shadow approaching somebody or being approached in the game. And then, he just acts normally.
Though this is logical and excepted, no, this is not Shadow.
Compassion was the thing that saved him originally. And then this trait was removed. Now he is compassionate again.
David Humphrey on what he was told about Shadow when he worked to SA2. You can see the interview with him and Scott Dreier on YT.
It should be underlined that Shadow doesn't know yet who the girl is.
Better to avoid to compare with IDW or Sonic Team Racing, when he doesn't save Rouge and Tails and when he even steal popcorn from a chao.
Doom Powers
They are helpful in game, but what I focus on is how Shadow is always in pain, maybe even afraid everytime he gets a new power. The 'NO!' plead was in Italian too. Another thing is the colour distortion when he gets seemily possessed by Black Doom.
In another videogame I used to play (Saints Row 3 and 4) the same colour distortion was there when the character was high.
So I associate that efect with altered consciousness.
Shadow's body language and expressions...
I did noticed he was very expressive in the trailer. But so he was the whole game. He communicates/emotes through both his face and his body. With the player and with the NPCs around. If his personality keeps improving and he will be back to the Shadow we all loved, and maybe they will keep that friendly attitude toward the player, baybe making a Shadow games not every year, but occasinally when they have a good story, he will be super fun to play.

Just pointing out some underrated Shadow moments in IDW #33.
A lot of people are put off by Shadow's coldness in the issue. Understandable, but there are some things they're overlooking. Notice how he hesitates a bit before turning Amy down. That means he does think about it for a second. Rouge did say that was polite for him. But decides to focus on his own reasons for being at White Park: tracking down any Egg Tech trades.
And then later, he's thinking about the girls. He even sounds a bit concerned. He considers for a moment to check on them, though dismisses it again. This is just Shadow's own way of caring.
I know he was a little more open about this stuff in the past, but let's just take what we got when we get it.

Oo rank the splinters from worst to best dad! I have my own personal ranking but i wanna hear yours
SPLINTER BEST DAD: Worst to Best
Last Ronin Splinter: Raised children to fight in a family blood feud! Didn't let them stop even when they claimed to be tired of fighting and killing! Got one of his sons killed by refusing to retreat! Horrible person and father!
Mirage Splinter: Raised the turtles to kill a man that HE had the beef with because Shredder killed HIS master, but he couldn't do it on his own so he just!!! RAISED CHILDREN AS SOLDIERS INSTEAD???? He's mostly "sensei" instead of "dad".
IDW Splinter: OOuuhhohoho. I could get into it. I won't. I get why he did some of the things he did. Plus he never really raised kids, they just kinda. Mutated into teengers. Bad dad though like jesus. Made more trouble for his kids than he helped.
Bayverse Splinter: He's just.... there.... he taught them how to fight... his guidance is kinda blah and he's pretty harsh with his punishments. You don't see him have any really soft moments with the kids, but he's not really a horrible dad, he's just... meh. Mid. I blame this on the bad writing of the movies.
1987 Splinter: He's a great caretaker, honestly. But he's more a sensei than a dad. He acts more like their teacher, he calls them "my friends" or "my pupils" and "my turtles" which is v cute. They definitely see him as their dad/master. He's very good to them, so he gets extra points. <3
2012 Splinter: OKAY I KNOW PEOPLE ARE GONNA BE MAD ABOUT THIS ONE. But he ALMOST NEVER fights beside them. You never see him doing anything fun with the kids. I'm sure he has! But like you never see it in the show, he tends to keep a distance. He keeps them safe from the blood fued, doesn't want them getting involved with Shredder. He does push them to save the world and does the whole "sacrifice anything or anyone to complete the mission" to Leo, a 15 year old boy, and then just sits at home???? Until April has to convince him to help?? AND HE DOESN'T HELP HIS SONS HE HELPS APRIL AND I'M??? Anyway that always bothered me. I love him as a character.
Rise Splinter: Here's our boy! He's shown with photos that he participated in fun activities with the kids when they were little. Not in the best way, obviously, but like!! He helped them make a lemonade stand!! Which is such a human child thing to do. He wanted them to have a normal life! He refused to train them for a long time with anything but movies because he didn't want them to have to fight. He's depressed as hell and yeah he's selfish at times but he has character growth through the series and turns into an honestly great dad by the end of it. I wish they'd had more time to show that growth and the aftermath of it.
1990 Splinter: THE LIVE ACTION DAD EVER. (I'm electing to ignore The Next Mutation. he's not even a dad. he's their sensei. anyway fuck next mutatio-) He's so gentle with them. He loves them so much. Calls them his sons all the time. Protects them despite being captured and interrogated and presumably tortured for information. HE LOVES THEM SO MUCH.
2003 Splinter: The Best Dad. He's a rat dad. He's not carrying a whole lot of human baggage. He lost his family once and he knows how to make one now. He takes care of his boys, he scolds them for going out, and when he realizes they're going to keep going topside and he can't stop them, he makes them do it safely. He is with them for ALL of their big fights. He EXCLUSIVELY calls them "my sons" constantly. He loves them so much oh my god. Would die for them in a heartbeat. Never wanted them involved with the Foot, tried DESPERATELY to keep them safe from it, and when he realized they were involved, he explained everything to them. He hugs them every time they get separated, he handles Leo's Depression Arc(tm) as well as he can. He never gets mad at Leo for hurting him. He just realizes that he can't help his son and must send him to someone else. And that's so hard to do.
So anyway 2k3 Splinter is best rat dad. Rats were made to be dads imo.

can I just say how much I love! your!! writing!!! I wasn’t really a Starscream or Bluestreak fan before because I have a tunnel vision on Bumblebee but stumbling upon your account made me adore them so much!! I like how neat your writing style is even though you make it as bullet points because I’m usually not fond with bullet points style, however! Something about how you focus on the description and “show not tell” the most is sooo tasty idk how to describe it. Thank you for your wonderful writings 😔🙏💕
Thank you! The bullet points were mostly a way to clearly demarcate a view point shift since these are snippets rather than anything fully fleshed out. Normally, I’d only head hop every other chapter in a paranormal romance manuscript, but that wouldn’t work here.
Also: Pleasure to Meet You by Motion City Soundtrack is my theme for this fic
Everything is Alright pt 34
IDW Starscream x Reader
• Watching you walk over to your stash of human things on his desk, a little more tension eases. Everything right again, even though he’s fully aware of how fragile it is. That worry still there eating at him, a dark tide just waiting to crash down on him. But not at this moment. You offer him a little smile as you drape that old cleaning cloth he first gave you about your shoulders. Like a ghost, Soundwave’s disdainful ‘inadequate’ floats through his processor.
• Somehow going back with Starscream feels more like reality than going home to your actual life had. Like everything else was a dream, less real than this. Because this has become home. Well, not quite if you’re being honest. It’s not this place at all. It’s him and it’s a curious new feeling, fragile. Breathing in the scent of him from your blanket, something settles inside you and you look up as he runs a big hand over his helm, wings fidgeting. “After my rotation, we’ll refuel together,” he says, optics flicking to your dwindling supply of stolen junk food. It’s not a request to share a meal, but a certainty that you will do this. You smile anyway.
• “I’d like that.” You’re smiling at him, happy to be near him. Glad to see him and it almost hurts, a bittersweet ache that he’d almost given this away. Let you slip out of his hands. Reaching down, he runs the tip of a servo over your soft cheek, the touch lingering as you reach up to lay a hand on him. Such a small thing, but it means more than you can ever realize. It takes an effort of will to break that contact instead of curling his servos around you and bringing you to cradle against him.
• There’s an impulse to call out after him when he leaves, and your fingers fist in your blanket to keep yourself still. To not run to the edge of the desk and reach out. He’s not leaving you again. You know it, but that jangling uncertainty is still there. That he might leave and not return.
• You’re back. Soundwave hesitates, feeling that now familiar tangle of emotion at the back of his processor. When you’d just disappeared from his awareness, he’d assumed Starscream had accidentally killed you. It had always been a possibility with the Seeker’s temper. Thought that you were just gone and that loss has twisted about his spark, because as frustrating as the chaos of your mind is, he’s gotten to where it’s familiar. Always just there at the back of his processor, a warm presence he can’t shut out like music softly playing. He’s pushing up from his desk, aware of his cassettes looking up in surprise.
• When the door slides open, you stand up expecting Starscream, but it’s Soundwave. His helm turns, visor flaring slightly as he spots you and strides over. Head tipping back as he reaches a huge hand for you, almost not noticing the faint tremble as his servos curl around you and he lays his other palm on the desk, big frame bowing over you. Silent aside from the ragged sound of him venting. One of his servos slides against your neck over your pulse, but otherwise he’s still aside from that strange shivering. You lay your palms on his hand, staring at that unreadable, hidden face. Had he been worried about you? That fragile feeling you don’t dare examine too closely stirs as you wish you weren’t so very small so you could wrap your arms around him. Around them both, because they’re yours. And it’s worth fighting for.

TF One spoilers ->
Overall a good movie, if pretty predictable in its plot beats (kind of groaned at the villain monologue broadcast, I knew that was coming). The animation is great and the living, shifting surface of Cybertron is *chef's kiss*. Orion is a feral little gremlin, it's fantastic. I don't know how Starscream's "yes, hit me harder!" was supposed to come off but it just turned out horny. He's been stuck out here for fifty years fighting random quintessons and apparently just wanted someone to come strangle him. Justice for my boy Starscream, who's been fighting longer than Megs has probably been alive and got beat up by a guy who learned to transform three hours ago.
But a lot of bits don't quite hang together the longer you think about them. The elite guard were just hanging out in the ruins for that long, and don't seem to have even tried going back to Iacon? Why? Did they consider it a duty to defend what they could from the quintessons? They definitely know the truth of what went down, so...?
Megatron's arc overall just felt... Weird. Too slow and too fast at once, the direct turn from "maybe we should just go back and be miners" (which itself seemed a very out of character thing for any version of Megatron to say at that point) to "I want to kill him". The way him shooting that first one of their pursuers is framed as this moment of no return when fifteen minutes later Bee is slicing up guys to no comment. The elite guard just kind of become Megatron's for no apparent reason except he beat up Starscream that time.
They're cribbing off IDW's mild-mannered poet -> warlord evolution, but it happens so fast Megatron just kind of turns evil when in IDW it took a lot for him to get there. And sure, it's a kid's movie and that's how it goes, but that plus handing off his whole uprising of the masses thing to Orion strips out a lot of the character complexity that makes him interesting.
And at the end, the quintessons, presumably still out there with their fleets, now have easy access to slurp up as much of that new-flowing surface energon as they can. Safe inside the planet, Optimus has just exiled Megatron and anyone who followed him onto that ruined surface with no defenses but the skeletons of dead ships and their own bodies against the quintesson forces. Optimus my dude, I'm not sure what you thought you were accomplishing here, but there is no way this can end well.

Happy Holidays, Panther! Your writing always brings me joy to read, and I hope you have a great rest of the year! ❤️
Request Theme: Normal
Fandom: Sonic the Hedgehog: IDW Comic Series.
Character: Mimic the Octopus.
Pairing: Romantic.
Type of Fic: Concept (HCs).
Sure! Sorry this was so late, I got this in December like most of the requests currently ^^; I hope your year has been okay and I hope Mimic is in character enough for you! Not fully proofread... may contain mistakes
Yandere! Mimic The Octopus Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Stalking, Blackmail/Gaslighting, Deception, Manipulation, Violence, Murder, Blood, Isolation, Threats, Sadism, Possessive behavior, Forced affection, Forced relationship.
Mimic is someone who would be surprised and in denial if he obsessed over someone.
After all, Mimic has never liked working in teams.
He's selfish and deceptive.
However, when he catches sight of you, you sees you like a treasure.
It just so happens being selfish, deceptive, and manipulative make dark yandere traits.
If you think about it, the moment Mimic gives in to being a yandere he'd be horrifying.
First of all, shape-shifter yanderes are a terrifying category on their own.
If Mimic wanted to be closer to you, he could easily pretend to be someone close to you.
While stalking you he'll watch for who you're around the most.
He'll teach himself how to copy their mannerisms once he decides he needs you before replacing them.
As a mercenary and assassin, Mimic has seen/done his fair share of murder.
He'll either kidnap whoever is close to you for information or just kill them before replacing them.
Before you know it, Mimic is beside you.
A complete stranger... one who's infatuated with you despite his denial.
Of course, his disguises aren't perfect.
Which means I can see Mimic gaslighting his obsession.
Your loved one always looked like this.
You're just paranoid.
Mimic is a natural at manipulation.
While he pretends to be the one closest to you in his disguise he plays with your head.
After all... getting him obsessed with you has messed with his head.
He hates friendship, he hates teamwork...
But when he sees you he just feels he has to have you.
So he'll do anything to keep you in his clutches.
He lies to your face with a smile, he threatens those around you with a blade...
He pledges "loyalty" towards you all while getting himself bloody for you.
I can definitely see Mimic shifting out of his disguise to remove someone from your life.
He makes a new disguise, getting himself covered in red just for you.
Then if you or someone else close to you catches him, he can flee to clean off.
By the time he arrives back... you cling to him with fear on your face.
A murderer on the loose?
No need to worry... your loved one's got you.
Meanwhile, when you're not looking, he's grinning to himself.
Mimic will play with his darling, making them question their life those around them.
He'll be all affectionate with you while hiding a bloody knife.
Mimic is skilled in pretend.
It may take awhile before you learn about him... or if you have a keen eye you may have you suspicions.
He's picking off those around you, at this point used to the routine.
So it may surprise him when you corner him on what he really is.
Maybe you learn of him from Whisper, who's currently tracking him down?
Mimic finds frustration in this fact but will begrudgingly reveal the truth.
But that's not all!
Mimic would then blackmail his darling and manipulate them into going with this new life and lie he's built for you.
He turns the tables, he's cornering you and telling you what he's done.
He admits he's killed for you, he admits his infatuation, all while calling you special.
By the end of his rant he has you against the wall, black eyes glaring into you as he grins.
With his threats he manages to make you comply, all while switching back to your "loved one".
Now he's hiding from Whisper while keeping you beside him.
When you know who he is he's even more affectionate.
After all... he has you scared of him.
He's in control.
So he can hug and kiss you all he wants.
He may even ask you to tell him your type.
He can be whatever you want, just ask.
Then he can be the perfect boyfriend for you....
Mimic never thought he'd like his obsession.
He thought they would be a burden.
But now he doesn't want to let go.
He'll keep you forever... all while wearing a facade... just to satiate his own twisted selfish desires.

RAN BERE AS SOON AS I GOT THE NOTIFCATION, LOVE YOUR WORK BRO 😭
I had a VISION, a EPIPHANY…. Liaison human reader (with any characters, just the Idw continuity though) BUT PLOTWKST: they’re somehow the Allspark!!!!! CUE RHE DRAMA!!!!!!! THERE IS NO PEACE OF MIND, EVER! I WANT PROBLEMS, ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!
This is a funny concept! I took some liberty to create this... Super powerd Buddy if you will. Not too many shenanigans all around, but Buddy is asking the real question here. Now they aren't exactly the Allspark, but that thing certainly made it seem that way!
Hope you enjoy!
Human Buddy and the Allspark
SFW, platonic, slight angst but things turn up in the end
MTMTE
The Lost Light had recently come across a strange artifact while on their travels. The artifact was brought to the lab for further inspection.
Rodimus accidentally activated it when his chassis came close to it. Preceptor and Brainstorm believed it was because he was a holder of the matrix and that's why it opened to him.
A stray blue light came out of the relic and began bouncing around the room before escaping into the halls of the ship.
It didn't make it too far from the lab.
Because it hit Buddy.
Because apparently exciting things happen when they take a break from their work.
They had been on Drift's shoulder when a blue light filled their vision and then they blacked out.
When Buddy regained consciousness they found themselves in the medbay with a group of worried faces.
Ratchet is the one who breaks the news.
That light they saw had somehow cyberformed half of their body and now had levels of energy that rivaled that of the matrix itself.
There was one thing Buddy needed to know at that moment...
"Do I look cool though?"--Buddy
Drift
Drift feels like part of this was his fault.
He feels like he should have blocked it or something. Ratchet has to literally knock some sense into him.
He is just as shock as everyone in the room when Buddy's condition is revealed. Even more worried for them when they let their little comment go.
"Buddy, I don't know how to word it. Maybe worrying about how you look isn't your main priority right now."--Drift
"But do I look cool though?"--Buddy
"Yes you do--"--Drift
"Then that's what matters right now."--Buddy
"..."--Drift
Drift is concerned over the origins of the relic and the energy source.
He has a theory that the power source chose Buddy to use it's power.
That theory however has earned him more dents in the helm via Ratchet.
Drift helps Buddy keep their new power in check with their regular meditation session.
Rodimus
Rodimus feels like this is his fault.
If he hadn't gone into the room, he wouldn't have activated the relic and then it wouldn't have gotten to Buddy.
That being said, he laughs at Buddy's comment.
"You sure do look cool Buddy!"--Rodimus
"Really?!"--Buddy
"Absolutely!"--Rodimus
Rodimus does take the new conditions seriously though. His friend just had part of their organic body turned into part bot body. He understands that this is a serious situation.
He can get behind Drift theory about Buddy being chosen for this Allspark like power. He has also been the victim of Ratchet's wrenches.
He makes sure to watch over Buddy and tries to help them in whatever way he can.
Feeling suddenly overwhelmed by the crowds?
Rodimus is now driving Buddy away to their room
Buddy getting tired of walking around?
Rodimus has them in his servos walking to the next designation.
He helps Buddy with their new found powers by giving some tips that help him with his flames.
Perceptor
Perceptor is extremely concerned over Buddy's new transformation.
None of this should be possible, in fact they should have been dead from a logical view point.
Not that he's complaining though.
He facepalms at Buddy's comment.
"Buddy, with all due respect, that is not what you should be asking!"--Perceptor
"But do I look cool?"--Buddy
"What-How-you... Nevermind."--Perceptor
He has to stop Brainstorm from wanting to experiment on Buddy immediately.
Don't get him wrong he also wants to study this new found power source but one thing at a time.
Perceptor watches over Buddy from time to time collecting data to study further. He has also joined Ratchet in hitting the others with wrenches as soon as he heard about Drift's theory.
Drift is his friend and all but he has to draw the science line somewhere.
He helps Buddy with their new power source by offering them a place to wind down and sleep.

The Possible New Future of the Sonic Franchise - Thanks to fucking Sonadow
WOW! SO…THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED 💀
A few days ago it was rumored a Sonic Generations remaster was happening and will be revealed in the State of Play, which then revealed Shadow will be playable. It was really unknown what the hell this meant, but many theorized this was going to be a Bowser’s Fury/Kirby Return case: Game from an old console is remastered/ported with a whole brand new campaign that may or may not be related and possibly intertwined with said game’s story or lore.
They were correct.
Oh yea did I forget to mention BLACK FUCKING DOOM IS BACK?????
There isn’t much yet to go off of right now in terms of what’s being planned here besides this excerpt on steam
————————————————
Alright, enough showcasing, what the hell am I talking about by this game (that was just revealed) being a new future for the Sonic franchise? Well, it’s mainly due to these two things: the usage of Black Doom, and this fucking logo
A little bit of a history lesson -
Shadow the Hedgehog (2005)
….wasn’t really a well received game. Besides how many viewed it to be trying too hard to be edgy and dark and gritty, its gameplay was a lot left to be desired. Confusing and lore retconning writing, weird awkward gameplay, you probably already know by now, it was arguably where SEGA/Sonic Team got scared of doing spin-offs with other characters. The concepts and ideas were there, there were still reasons to like the game and like how Shadow improves as a character in the canonical story of the game, it was a small shiny stone in a pile of coal. Besides 06, this was the most development or focus Shadow would ever receive as a character before his massive change in writing in 2010.
Due to the 2010s change in writing style and how characters were written thanks to SEGA to avoid any association from “erm Sonic tried to be serious at one point? Cringe!”, Shadow possibly became the most controversial character of the cast, with him going from a really intriguing 3 dimensional character about trauma, loss, and trying to move on from the past, to many feeling like he’s regressed into a Furry Vegeta or a tryhard loner who doesn’t need friends to help him, the IDW comics being a big example of this. He still had a few good moments like his whole prologue in Sonic Forces, but even then it wasn’t anything intriguing like his story in Sonic 06 where he learns to accept his future might turn out shit, but he’ll always fight back with his team if things get dark (see what I did there?).
Before I continue, I would like to say - blaming Ian Flynn for how Shadow’s written in the IDW comics where he’s more brute and moody…..doesn’t seem correct, imma be real. I know he may have the occasional odd idea of the characters, but it’s very clear the way he’s written is due to certain mandates from SEGA and how characters/the world should be like. If Shadow’s whole moody brute demeanor is truly how Flynn views the character…..how does that explain how he was written in the Archie comics? aka the older comic series Flynn wrote for before SEGA started to get strict with the franchise, aka the series many believe to have had really great Shadow moments? I’m not saying there can’t be criticism for how Flynn may sometimes write characters, but in the case of him being the sole reason for how Shadow is written, that assumption made on him is a lil unfair.
Regardless, in recent times, it’s no doubt that the franchise is starting to rebuild it’s confidence again: acknowledging the old 3D games, including 06, having a more serious story with layers and depth like in Frontiers, Frontiers itself reintroducing Sonic’s friends and their struggles, making them playable once again in a 3D game (again, Shadow was cool to see in Forces but, you could only go so far with a simple reskin of Sonic). Not to mention after the update that brought back these characters, we got Sonic Superstars where the main selling point was that it was a co-op game, and Sonic Dream Team having a focus on the franchise’s more forgotten character: Cream the Rabbit (not to mention bringing back a sorta SA2-style gameplay where 6 characters were grouped into 3 styles of controls). Oh yea also prior to all that, Amy was made playable in the original Sonic genesis games via Sonic Origins.
———————————————
So, what does all that have to do with the future of the franchise, and why is Shadow 05 important here?
First off: Shadow is getting that same treatment as other friends, but possibly on an even bigger level: being a new playable character in an older title and being a big enough deal to get his own story and reintroduce people to what makes him who he is sadly no co-op gameplay but hey that would require completely changing this game from what it was initially was. This is really perfect timing as with the upcoming release of Sonic Movie 3 and Shadow being the next foe for Sonic to face off, Sonic x Shadow Generations will be a perfect title for new fans to dive into and learn more about Sonic’s history and dive further into Shadow’s history, just like what Sonic Origins was for fans who just came back from watching Sonic Movie 2.
This whole thing is also a massive implication that other characters than Sonic may start to get their own campaigns again, building more lead-ups to possibly full on spinoff games. I should say this again: Forces did try to do something with Shadow, but for the most part it was just reusing whatever the game already had to create a quick and easy 3 level prologue that…doesn’t really add all that much to the overall story (at this rate you can probably assume Forces tried to do a lot of things Sonic is now attempting to do, however due to the kinda era it came from, it didn’t have much going for it). Sonadow Generations seems like something bigger and more personal to the character involved, something that could possibly rival the OG game’s campaign.
The fact in this story, they’re going so far as to make Black Doom the main antagonist of this campaign and giving back Shadow’s tribal logo is a massive sign that this is a true attempt to revisit Shadow’s entire legacy. They could’ve easily just made his whole ordeal involve what happened in Sonic Adventure 2, after all that’s what he’s most remembered for, but going as far as to properly acknowledged a lesser known game as being part of the Sonic lore instead of dismissing it simply because it wasn’t well received, it continues to show the confidence this series has started to regain. Sure, it’s weird, it’s wacky, it’s wild, but it doesn’t make it any less something to acknowledge or at the very least make good out of something bad. While we did get hints of Shadow 05 still being part of the canon via the Eggman logs in Frontiers mentioning Black Doom, having him come back officially was still a completely wild thing to see; never in a million years would anyone have thought he would come back as the main villain.
The biggest part of this whole thing is: if SEGA is allowing for Shadow 05 to be fully acknowledged
.
this might mean they’re starting to pull back on their restrictions on the character.
——————————————
As I stated before, it is very clear they wanted nothing to do with this game or anything similar to it ever again, I mean the fact we never got any spin-offs after this really shows they weren’t gonna come back to other characters ever again. But now…everything’s on the table. If Black Doom is making an appearance, if Shadow’s tribal logo is back as part of his identity, what else could there be next? Will Shadow start to use guns again? Will he ride his motorcycle, and other vehicles like in 06? Hell, will motherfucking Mephiles come back again for this campaign?
Not to mention the description of the game stated that Shadow will confront painful memories, will we see Maria in HD getting shot, or the commander from Shadow 05 who was out to get him making a reappearance? This might be the first time in a whole decade since other human characters (not counting Sage since she isn’t exactly fully human) making an appearance again in the Sonic franchise. Again, we may have gotten hints of them still being a thing with the likes of Frontiers’ Eggman logs bringing up GUN and Maria, but actually showing up in-game means other humans can still make appearances in-game.
(Take this part with a massive grain of salt but I’ve heard that Ian Flynn in the past has expressed he wanted to bring back Black Doom and Mephiles, but SEGA didn’t allow it, now that one of them happened, it proves that there indeed has been less restrictions now)
If there are less restrictions being made on stuff like acknowledging Shadow’s game, what could this mean for how Shadow himself may be written now? We’ve seen how apparently well written Shadow was in Sonic Prime, could this carry over to the games and comics where he has a less frustrating depiction? I mean, the fact Ian Flynn was hired for one massive mainline game (Sonic Frontiers) and suddenly they’re doing all these lore related things for the franchise or going back to pull up any old stuff and see what they can do with it, it shows there is a level of trust between SEGA and Flynn and letting the man cook. And it makes complete sense too, he’s been a long time writer for the franchise since the Archie comics, he seems to have a great understanding of the characters.
If Shadow 05 is getting this level of acknowledgement, what about other more forgotten games? Will we one day see Sonic 06 be better acknowledged, or more likely a character like Silver having a bigger role in something related to the events of 06? I mean for some reason recent episode titles of the upcoming Knuckles show revealed one episode called “Flames of Disaster,” who’s to say they aren’t already looking into 06 for some ideas for not just the movie canon, but as well as the main canon?
—————————————
I’m drifting off a little but I’m sure you get by now what I’m tryna say. This game, as it may seem like just a simple small remaster with extra content, may end up creating something bigger for the franchise going forward. Seeing how Sonic Team is behind this remaster and not Blind Squirrel (the people who made Sonic Colors Ultimate; while possibly rushed by SEGA, they’ve also have had a questionable track record with remasters), and hints that Flynn is behind this story, I think we are in great hands with this game. This may be the first remaster to finally be flawless in every level, which I know is a little sad to say when it comes to this 30+ year old franchise, but hey, can’t win them all!
——————————————
Before I end this comically large essay, I would like to make one final note on this whole topic. As I was writing this and taking breaks last night, I came across a tweet that was kinda starting to go around about this game.
To summarize, the tweet essentially claimed that Sonic was still stuck in the past. The franchise was still relying on nostalgia pandering as its identity, and due to the contents of Generations being a whole celebration of Sonic’s history (and what unfortunately started SEGA’s cling onto Green Hill and Chemical Plant), aka alleged nostalgia pandering, it proves the franchise’s identity is still about how when Sonic used to be cool. It hasn’t attempted to evolve in the past 14 years.
You can probably guess what my thoughts on that take is after reading this whole post.
.
.
.
.
.
No.
I don’t think so.
As I already showed, the addition of Shadow’s story more than proves this is still stepping forward. It’s taking an old beloved game and instead of just updating graphics or performance and leaving it at that, they’re making something brand new out of it that may define future ideas for other characters that isn’t about Sonic. Not to mention this game barely attempts to be all like, “Revisit all these iconic locations from your childhood!!!” SEGA is clearly looking at Generations not as that one game they can rely on for easy nostalgia pandering, but as a successful and fun game from the last decade in its own right. I mean to the general public, it’s considered to be “one of the few good Sonic games.”
It can be argued that the addition of Shadow and Black Doom may be pandering to the audience into Shadow but…really? They’re tryna solely pander and play on the nostalgia of a small minority of players who liked a game that was considered to be the start of Sonic’s downfall in the 2000s and make that the selling point of this remaster to the general public? Where some in said general public may argue that they’re about to ruin a rare good Sonic game with stuff that they think no one ever liked??? I don’t really believe it.
Hell, speaking personally, I’ve never played Shadow 05, I don’t own a GameCube, maybe a PS2 but even then I didn’t get much games at the time. While I sorta played around with the franchises growing up, I fully got into it around when Sonic Mania came out (and even then it took me a while to finally play it). So even though I may be hyping up Black Doom’s return, I myself am not coming from any rose tinted glasses or anything, these are just observations from the many discussions I’ve seen online or videos showcasing these games. Same would go for a lot of people into that game as many while loved it, still would acknowledge where it fumbles and how it’s definitely not the definitive Sonic experience to have.
Sonic has begun to evolve, experimenting with new ideas and offering new and different ways to enjoy the franchise. As mentioned earlier, lots of shit happened in the past 4 months. While I agree that something like Frontiers relying on the same old levels for Cyberspace to be stupid, that shouldn’t undermine the actual new stuff it offers for the franchise. I feel like we’re already far beyond the franchise needing to be like “hey remember Green Hill???” as it’s main identity for a game/the franchise. And even then, this shouldn’t mean Sonic can’t look back on previous entries anymore ever again.
Many want Sonic to be like other franchises, like Mario, Kirby, etc, they’ve been also occasionally doing the look back on an old title or old past, so why not let Sonic do the same? We shouldn’t immediately respond to a callback with claims that it’s poor nostalgia pandering, as the take away imo always should’ve been that there should be a balance between original and new and looking back on what worked.
I am happy to say that regardless what this remaster is, we are in good hands again.
———————————————
also unrelated as hell but pray for this man, he has not uploaded a Sonic video in 4 months, I think SEGA killed him by over feeding him with content 😭

Not So Different (Sonic and Shadow’s Interactions With Metal Sonic)
After listening to Sonic_Speed’s podcast regarding Sonic the Hedgehog IDW, in particular Issue #12: The Cost of The Battle For Angel Island, I came to a little realization. Apparently, both Sonic and Shadow tried to convince Metal Sonic to defect from Eggman and live his own life at some point.
You’ll see what I mean, but first - a recap.
After his defeat as Master Overlord, Metal Sonic is beaten up. Sonic has Tails fix him (weapons deactivated, obviously) and they wake Metal Sonic up.
Metal Sonic attempts to attack Sonic, but he’s not in any shape to fight. Sonic then tells Metal how the fight is over, and with Eggman gone, Metal can now live his life on his own; be his own person, or robot. He isn’t asking him to be best friends, but he wants to call a truce and co-exist peacefully.
Metal Sonic is taken aback, stares at Sonic for a moment, then just slaps his hand away and rushes out, his answer being a clear “No”. I had been talking about this, but to keep it short, Sonic sees Metal as a person, not just a weapon of destruction and he really wants Metal to live his life without being Eggman’s enforcer.
This isn’t the first time someone tried to give a chance to Metal Sonic, as Shadow did the same way before:
This takes place in Sonic Universe Issue #1: Living Weapons, with Shadow referencing the events that took place during Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie) Issue #195: Hedgehog Havoc (Part 1) and Issue #196: Hedgehog Havoc (Part 2), as well as Sonic X, Issue #40: The End.
During their tussle, they end up in the Sol Dimension, Blaze’s world, with Shadow trying to talk to Metal Sonic. He calls him a thinking machine, a living weapon, just like himself, but he believes that there is more to Metal Sonic and that he shouldn’t let Doctor Eggman use him.
Metal Sonic’s response to this is to kick him on the head and hoping he’d drown. Once again, the answer is a clear “No”. Honestly, I really love the parallels here, and this little conversation even continues later on.
In Sonic IDW, Sonic once again addresses Metal Sonic in Issue #26: All Or Nothing (Part 1):
At this point, the Metal Virus has consumed the whole world, and Sonic and his friends (and Eggman and Metal) are on Angel Island, trying to find a way to save it. Sonic is frustrated at Metal Sonic for not following his advice to abandon Eggman. He saw him as someone similar to Omega and Gemerl, and it irks him that Metal just had to go back to Eggman.
Eggman overhears this conversation and tells Sonic that, no matter what he did, Metal was programmed to seek battle and conquest, so Metal wouldn’t have taken Sonic’s advice no matter what, even if Eggman wasn’t around to restore Metal Sonic.
Meanwhile, in Sonic Universe, Shadow has met Blaze and Marine, getting himself involved in another battle with Metal Sonic:
He once again tries to appeal to Metal Sonic, saying how it doesn’t have to be this way and believes that Metal was just being led astray by Eggman. He wants Metal to put behind his past as a weapon and help Shadow save the world.
Metal responds that, just like Shadow’s function is to protect his world, Metal Sonic’s function is to serve Eggman and nothing is going to change that, which is why he will destroy Shadow.
I think it’s really fascinating that at some point, both Shadow and Sonic tried to take the same approach in convincing Metal Sonic to do good instead of follow Eggman’s orders. Both fail, but it’s the thought that counts.
Also, before you go telling me how I shouldn’t be comparing Archie!Shadow and IDW!Sonic since it’s two different continuities, note that they’re both written by the same writer, Ian Flynn, and Archie!Shadow is basically 06!Shadow before Sega started to get stricter with their mandates.
So, yeah, both have failed in their attempts to redeem Metal Sonic, but amazingly, they actually manage to convince a different Eggman robot to turn their life around:
Shadow with Omega in Sonic Universe Issue #3: Old Soldiers...
...and Sonic with Mecha Sonic in the Scrapnik Island Miniseries Issue #4: Scrapnik Island (Part 4).
Honestly, it is quite fascinating. I guess Sonic and Shadow are not so different after all.
