Note
I got more questions for the spiderverse/dsmp crossover:
1. Who did each Spiderperson lose?
2. What are each Spiderperson's extra powers?
YESSSS YES THANK U!!!!
1. every version of dream must lose three people: george, sam, and alyssa. he usually loses sapnap too, but this is touch-and-go.
alyssa is the first significant person he loses way before everything, and when she leaves the server, or dies, or disappears, it’s dream’s first hint that he needs to bring the server together. it’s what alyssa would want. it’s what’s right.
george is next — and it’s always accidental, never fully planned, because no matter what schemes dream makes, george always surprises him in every timeline by changing this. for c!dream, it’s the dethronement arc: for m!dream, m!george was killed by m!eret right around the time m!dream discovered the other timelines. for other timelines, it’s death, it’s betrayal, it’s falling into a deep slumber, becoming a god … either way, dream has to lose george. it pushes him into the final arc.
the final person every dream must lose is sam. brave sam, strong sam, sam who loves and cares about him. the difficult part is that this method of “losing sam” never changes. it always starts with the prison. it always ends with the breakout. their relationship changes across the timelines, and m!sam is the only person that m!dream cannot speak about. he has an unhealthy fascination with c!sam in our canon server, one he can’t quite let go of.
tommy also has to lose three people: very specifically, three mentors/heroes. it varies across worlds. it’s always wilbur, but the other two range between dream, schlatt, techno, philza, and some server members that change from timeline to timeline — captainsparklez, deo, etc. one time the mentor he lost was george. this fucked tommy and dream up, and, in that universe, tommy killed dream to avenge george’s accidental death.
it’s varied, but three things remain for any tommy.
he must lose three mentors across three different key moments in his life.
he must always lose one of them in an accident of his own making.
wilbur is always the first one he loses, and the one that can never come back.
other server members have their own canon events / losses too!! for sam, it’s always dream. for bad, it’s always skeppy.
2. to make up for the long ass answer above, this one is short !! each server is different. some are vanilla minecraft, some origins, some have admin dream, some are superpowered, some hardcore, some peaceful. it all depends. the main universes i focus on — m!dream’s universe, and our canon one with c!diskduo — don’t have any superpowers, other than the fact m!dream has access to the multiverse through a glitch in the revive book.
c!wilbur has the power of knowledge. of foresight. the void showed him everything: it’s why he’s never allowed to come back to life. but for some reason, c!dream brought him back. and he intends to find out why — and make m!dream’s life a living hell in the process.

There are a lot of things that suck ass about living in 2024, but the fact that I can look at literally any page of the Book of Kells and get a better, more zoomed-in look at it, than I could if I were standing in front of the fucking thing, is not one of them
That part is pretty god damn great
Tumblr media
It's a lavishly illuminated book of the Gospels (in Latin), made in the 800's in Ireland.
It's one of those things that I can't think about too much or I just start crying. It's so beautiful and human.
Tumblr media
THE LEVEL OF DETAIL IS FUCKING WILD. This is the "chi ro" page. (from the first two Greek letters of the word "Christ" (Greek: ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ, or Χριστός) – Chi (χ) and Rho (ρ).)
Each page is 330 mm by 250 mm (13 inches by 9.8 inches). It's all on calfskin vellum. All 680 pages of it. (340 "leaves"). There are places where there's patches in the calfskin and holes that weren't patched. Some of the colors were made from things imported from as far away as the Mediterranean.
We're missing a few pages, but it's a fucking miracle we have it at ALL. It's up there with the Bayeux Tapestry (among other things! those are just ones I personally know about!) in terms of "I can't believe humans made this spectacular thing that long ago and WE STILL HAVE IT." Things like fabric and writing are just so notoriously easy to lose/destroy!
I think one of my favorite things is that it isn't perfect! Not just the patches and holes--there are visible mistakes where one of the scribes ran out of room on a line, for instance:
Tumblr media
"ah shit I forgot I needed to write 'maria' there."
(that says "et ait Maria," or "and Mary said")
Anyway. Yes I am considering getting a tattoo of part of it.
Specifically the opening lines of the Magnificat.
It's from the first chapter of Luke, and it's the song Mary sings when the angel tells her she's going to give birth to Jesus. The translation the Episcopal church uses for evening prayer goes:
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
The Latin version:
Magnificat anima mea Dominum et exultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo
And here's what it looks like in the Book of Kells (and a link to the whole page if you're curious)
Tumblr media
(...plus some of the next line, "quia respexit humilitatem," "he has looked upon his humble/lowly servant")
("but a whole bunch of letters are missing" yeah there was a whole Thing with writing out Latin, back when all writing was done by hand on vellum, where you could skip letters if you knew the reader would know which word you meant. That little line above the text is fancy writing for "I skipped some letters on that one.")
ANYWAY the PROBLEM is that I'm not a huge fan of the opening "Ma" of the word Magnificat. There are other examples of illuminated "Ma" in the Book that I might swap out, but they all look like that rounded shape, just the decoration varies.
I also have to decide whether to write out the Latin words or keep the abbreviations they used. Keeping the abbreviations might be easier lol.
Also I fucking love the Magnificat.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Savior; *     for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: *     the Almighty has done great things for me,     and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him *     in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, *     he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, *     and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, *     and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his servant Israel, *     for he has remembered his promise of mercy, The promise he made to our fathers, *     to Abraham and his children for ever.
The artist Ben Wildflower has a great woodcut print/sticker/t-shirt of a couple of lines from it:

busy as he was, he still wanted to find a way to spoil his companion. though he did not see the smaller other, Death was quick to leave a basket of goodies upon his doorstep, little things that reminded him of Muu. basket , stuffies , one of his old shirts , and varies candies.
Tumblr media
Due to a combination of factors, everybody-- and he did mean everybody-- brought forth a number of less than favorable emotions, thus rendering him more interested in isolation than not. What he sought out for more than anything was tenderness and nothing else. No, he wanted nothing to do with being found entertaining, or humorous, or even admirable for any trait beyond the mere description of being tended towards. Cared for, even.
Desirability over wishing to be in the company of his romantic partner was at a definite high; however, he knew even in such a state of wishing for the approximation of unconditional love that to have such was still unavailable in Deo's absence. He strove to recall that whatever was keeping the taller away must have been important, hence it was his job not to give into begging that they part from it for his sake. Doing so, he imagined, would only inevitably place the risk of them having to depart from one another yet again due to unfinished business. Therefore, he settled on enduring up until he'd get to see Deo instead of just think about him.
At the return of an otherwise eventful outing to acquire a minute amount of groceries to replenish what was already unavailable to his arsenal of snacks, the sight of gifts left behind by Death himself brought forth a bout of disappointment and sadness to wash over his features. Up until he gave into being thankful for them, as well as the thought behind them, that is. His singular bag of necessities was quickly discarded by the wayside of his home to be dealt with later. Or, should his dog have uncharacteristically gotten into any number of them while unattended, than such was simply the way the universe wished to happen. Frankly, Muu cared so little for their well being with items of much more importance taking precedence in the list of priorities being organized by his active mind.
Delighted noises kept barely above a whisper persisted behind lips curled upwards from joy as the young blonde made the conscious-- and plenty expected-- decision to place the gifted shirt over his person immediately. From there, he settled upon steps to idly browse over the toys and treats provided to him as he took to waiting for the limited likelihood the other male may make a return visit. They could have forgotten to leave him with something else.
Whatever it may have been, and for whatever reason it could've found itself being provided to him, the young adult was willing to wait all night. He'd have even be plenty appreciative of the mere opportunity to catch a glimpse of his romantic partner, let alone exchange a set of loving words between the pair of them in the midst of not knowing when the next visitation would follow.

Understanding the Five Solas: Foundations of Reformed Theology
The Five Solas represent the core principles of Reformed theology that emerged during the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. These five Latin phrases—Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria—are foundational to understanding the beliefs and doctrines of many Protestant traditions. They were formulated as a response to the theological issues of the time, particularly the perceived excesses and corruptions within the Roman Catholic Church. By examining these solas, we can better appreciate the key differences between Protestant and Catholic theology and the enduring influence of the Reformation.
Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)
Sola Scriptura is the doctrine that Scripture alone is the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and practice. During the Reformation, this idea directly challenged the Catholic Church's view that Scripture and church tradition held equal authority. Reformers like Martin Luther argued that the Bible, as the inspired Word of God, must be the final judge of truth without additional revelation from church councils or traditions.
Sola Scriptura asserts that the Bible is sufficient for understanding God's will. This does not mean that other sources, such as church teachings or theological writings, have no value but must be subordinate to Scripture. This principle drove the Reformers to translate the Bible into the vernacular languages of the people, making it accessible to all rather than limiting its study to clergy and scholars.
This doctrine continues to influence Protestantism today, with many denominations emphasizing personal Bible study and interpretation. However, it also leads to significant theological diversity, as interpretations of Scripture can vary widely.
Sola Fide (Faith Alone)
Sola Fide is the belief that salvation is received through faith alone, apart from any human works or merit. This doctrine was perhaps the most controversial of the Reformation, as it directly opposed the Catholic Church's teaching that faith must be accompanied by works of righteousness to achieve salvation.
The Reformers, particularly Luther and John Calvin, argued that justification—being declared righteous before God—comes solely through faith in Jesus Christ. Good works, they maintained, are a natural result of genuine faith but do not contribute to one’s justification. As Paul writes in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
This understanding of faith and justification was central to the Reformation’s message. It emphasized the believer’s dependence on Christ for salvation, removing the fear that salvation could be lost if one failed to live up to the church’s standards of righteousness. Instead, salvation was seen as a gift from God, granted by faith alone.
Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)
Closely related to Sola Fide is Sola Gratia, the doctrine that salvation is the result of God’s grace alone. This means that human beings, in their fallen state, cannot earn or deserve salvation. Instead, salvation is an unmerited gift from God, extended to humanity through Christ’s atoning work on the cross.
For the Reformers, the doctrine of Sola Gratia underscored human depravity and the necessity of divine intervention. While the Catholic Church taught that grace and human cooperation were necessary for salvation, the Reformers insisted that grace alone was sufficient. They believed that no human effort, no matter how righteous, could contribute to one’s salvation, which depends entirely on God’s gracious choice.
This understanding of grace leads to a deep sense of humility and gratitude among believers. It affirms that salvation is not something one can earn but a gift to be received with thankfulness. The doctrine also comforts those who may struggle with unworthiness, reminding them that God’s grace is freely given and does not depend on human merit.
Solus Christus (Christ Alone)
Solus Christus teaches that Christ alone is the mediator between God and humanity and that salvation is accomplished solely through His death and resurrection. During the Reformation, this doctrine rejected the Catholic practice of venerating saints and the belief that priests acted as mediators between God and the people, particularly in the sacrament of confession.
The Reformers pointed to passages like 1 Timothy 2:5, which states, “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” They argued that Christ’s once-and-for-all sacrifice on the cross was sufficient to atone for humanity's sins, rendering the need for additional mediators or sacrifices unnecessary.
By emphasizing Christ as the sole means of salvation, Solus Christus affirms that nothing outside of Christ’s work is required for a person’s redemption. This doctrine also highlights the personal nature of salvation, where each individual has direct access to God through Jesus Christ. In many Protestant traditions today, this idea is reflected in personal prayer, where believers are encouraged to bring their confessions, needs, and praises directly to God through Christ.
Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone)
The final sola, Soli Deo Gloria, expresses the belief that all glory is due to God alone. This doctrine reflects the Reformers’ view that every aspect of the Christian life should ultimately be for the glory of God, whether in worship, work, or daily living. It also rejects the idea that any human being deserves glory or veneration, whether a pope, priest, or saint.
The doctrine of Soli Deo Gloria arose in response to the Catholic Church’s practice of venerating saints and attributing spiritual merit to human actions. The Reformers believed such practices detracted from the glory that belongs to God alone. They emphasized that salvation, creation, and all good works result from God’s grace, and thus, God should receive all the praise.
This sola encourages believers to live with the understanding that their lives are to be lived in worship and service to God. Whether through acts of charity, excellence in work, or faithful obedience, everything is to be done for God’s glory. The principle of Soli Deo Gloria remains central to Reformed theology, reminding believers that their ultimate purpose is to honor God in all they do.
The Lasting Legacy of the Five Solas
The Five Solas remain foundational to Reformed theology and continue to shape the beliefs and practices of many Protestant denominations today. Together, they offer a clear and concise summary of the key theological convictions that arose during the Protestant Reformation. Each sola addresses a particular aspect of the Christian faith, from the authority of Scripture to the means of salvation and the purpose of life.
In an era when many aspects of theology and church practice are constantly being re-examined and reinterpreted, the Five Solas provide a timeless framework for understanding the essentials of the Christian faith. They remind believers that salvation is found through faith in Christ, by grace alone, and that the ultimate goal of Christian life is to bring glory to God. Understanding these solas helps Christians remain grounded in their faith, fostering a deep dependence on God’s Word, Christ’s work, and the grace that underpins their salvation.

Affinity Trio – Hindsight
Hindsight is the recording debut of Affinity Trio, an exciting straight-ahead jazz trio comprised of trumpeter Eric Jacobson, pianist Pamela York, and bassist Clay Schaub.
“Individually leading busy and varied artistic lives in Chicago and throughout the Midwest, trumpeter Eric Jacobson, pianist Pamela York and bassist Clay Schaub have gathered weekly for their Monday night residency at Milwaukee’s Mason Street Grill since 2021. There they allow the ideas and inspirations gleaned through the week to take musical form in an intimate setting, unfurling arrangements on standards from the American Songbook, Latin jazz, bebop, or through their own compositions. Their debut recording captures their comfortable simpatico as their originals seamlessly interweave with an animated “Tin Tin Deo,” a luxuriously slow reading of “Theme for Ernie,” their up-tempo take on “The End of a Love Affair,” and arrangements of lesser-known tunes by Charlie Parker and Cedar Walton.” – Origin Records.
“…like Lester Young, Bill Evans, and other of the more lyrical players, Pamela York plays each melody with a singer’s grace and vibrancy.” L.A. Jazz Scene.
“Jacobson, York, and Schaub are masters of sound, touch and feel. This outing showcases them in a drumless trio format which allows for all three of their gorgeous sounds to be heard with clarity. It’s a swinging record that will keep you on the edge of your seat.” – Dan Nimmer, pianist with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra led by Wynton Marsalis

Why Temperature Control is Key to Your Best Waxing Experience
Tumblr media
In beauty and self-care, waxing is preferred for achieving smooth, hair-free skin. However, the difference between a satisfactory waxing session and an exceptional one often lies in the details—specifically, the temperature of the wax. Understanding this, the innovative Deo 28oz Digital Wax Warmer has set a new standard for precision and convenience in waxing, embodying the importance of temperature control in providing the best experience.
The Importance of Temperature Control
Temperature control in wax warming is not just about comfort but safety, effectiveness, and efficiency. Wax that's too hot can cause burns, while wax that's too cool may not adhere properly to the hair, leading to ineffective hair removal and discomfort. This is where the distinction between analog wax warmers and digital wax warmers, such as Deo Beauty's Digital Wax Warmer, becomes crucial.
Digital vs. Analog Wax Warmers
Analog wax warmers, like the Deo 14oz model, offer essential thermostatic heat control with multiple temperature settings, which is adequate for general use. However, digital wax warmers provide a leap in functionality for those seeking more precision and convenience. The Deo 28oz Digital Wax Warmer, designed and manufactured in the UK, exemplifies this by providing perfect temperature control through its advanced features.
Key Benefits and Features
Quicker Usable Wax: The fast heat mode of the digital warmer significantly reduces the time required to melt the wax, saving both time and energy. This effectiveness not only provides economic advantages to the user but also aids in minimizing their carbon footprint.
Consistent Temperature Maintenance: By automatically regulating the wax temperature, the digital wax warmer removes the necessity for frequent reheating, guaranteeing the wax is consistently prepared for application.
Customizable Temperature Settings: Recognizing that comfort levels vary among clients, the digital warmer allows for precise temperature adjustments. This personalized approach enhances the waxing experience, making it more comfortable for everyone.
Temperature Memory Feature: The convenience of the temperature memory function cannot be overstated. Automatically setting the wax to the previously used temperature streamlines the process, saving valuable time.
Digital Display: The clear, easy-to-read digital display eliminates guesswork by showing the exact temperature of the wax. This not only saves time but also ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, as the user does not need to manually test the wax temperature before use.
Standby Mode and Fast Heat Mode: The inclusion of standby mode conserves power when the warmer is not in active use, while the fast heat mode minimizes wax melting time. These features reflect a thoughtful design aimed at enhancing user convenience and reducing energy consumption.
Enhanced Safety Features: The Deo Digital Wax Warmer has a locking lid and protective collar, mitigating the risk of spillages, which is particularly important for mobile therapists or salons. The removable power cord further enhances safety and facilitates easy storage and transportation.
Temperature Range: With a temperature range from 60 °F to 185 °F, the digital warmer accommodates various types of depilatory and paraffin waxes, making it versatile for different waxing procedures and preferences.
The Deo Beauty Difference
Choosing the suitable wax warmer can significantly impact the quality of the waxing experience, both for the professional and the client. The Deo Digital Wax Warmer offers optimum performance and user satisfaction features. Its ability to quickly and accurately control wax temperature not only elevates the waxing process but also positions it as a must-have tool for beauty professionals.
Final Thoughts
Temperature control is central to achieving the best waxing experience. It influences not only the effectiveness of hair removal but also client comfort and safety. The advanced features of digital wax warmers, exemplified by the Deo 28oz Digital Wax Warmer, represent a significant improvement over traditional analog models. By prioritizing quick, accurate, and safe wax warming, digital warmers like Deo Beauty offer a sophisticated solution to the needs of beauty professionals and their clients. In the quest for the perfect waxing session, investing in a high-quality digital wax warmer is not just a choice—it's necessary for anyone serious about providing the best in client care and satisfaction.

@forthewinn asked: people like me need people like you to save our asses. i need you.
At the crux of everything, that surmised her purpose: saving lives, both in the field and behind the varying apparatus amassed in her lab. Leaping from buildings, with little but the faith she had in Kara to offset the breath - stealing wind in her ears; Bearing the Atlasean weight of every oath she'd sworn and every promise she'd made, both on the front lines and for the sake of her sister, like always.
And yet need almost felt too strong an expression.
Earning her spot at the DEO didn't quite change the underlying truth: That, despite her surname, her unbreakable and undenied connection to Kara, to the Martian who'd pried her off the floor of a cell with the promise that she had so much more to offer than her self - assured destruction, she was just like any other agent: In the firing line, wherever it originated, with a near constancy. At the unbending behest of the vows they'd each made to defend the planet and its' inhabitants from within the penumbra of perpetual and indomitable secrecy. Human — innately and fallibly so.
Outside the modest circle that comprised her family, both blood and found, the world at large wouldn't miss her the way it'd miss supergirl or her famous cousin.
She'd learned to live with that.
Tumblr media
Nudging Winn with her shoulder, a wordless, weightless display of what passed for unexacting affection, Alex simply offered a downcast, sober smile — one laced with a pensive kind of gratitude. That she needed him too ( that she'd needed all of them: Winn, Kara and J'onn ) went without saying. " Yeah, you do. "

Note
nothing has changed. no, that is a lie. he is still the bubble, loving person i remember. but he has grown so much that i fear he may have out grown me. muu is a light that a lot of people cant handle, but i can. i want to prove that to him, be the person he needs and loves. forget the past and live in the now. but i am scared that i am not worthy of his love or attention. he is different now, yet still the same. muu is perfect in my eyes, but i know that doesnt matter either. ah, it kind of hurts to think about.
Anonymously send me something your muse is secretly thinking about mine. / Accepting / and definitely not Deo of @falseamore / @ekhis
Tumblr media
Nothing has changed. That rose a very important question to come to mind. Did he even want to be changed? His answer on that tended to vary. Occasionally, he stubbornly settled on wanting to be an exact replica of his sixteen year old self. On others, however, he wanted to be removed from it completely in hopes that was the solution for his inability to fit in. Perhaps there was some sort of happy medium he could settle on. Or at least once he was capable of defining such a thing.
Bubbly. God, if he was correct in his assumption of who'd sent the letter into him, he had wished they'd been present when his bout of depression at eighteen had truly peaked. And while maybe their departure around that time had been an assisting catalyst in it, he didn't claim such enough to hold them to such a heart breaking remark. Instead, he was simply curious how different events may have turned out had Deo stayed by to even only just be the scary dog in Muu's life even if nothing else.
muu is a light that a lot of people cant handle, but i can. i want to prove that to him, be the person he needs and loves.
That part on its own had been reread by him at least ten times before he could even move onto anything wrote after. A hopeless romantic at heart, Muu had spent the past decade by itself daydreaming about anything pertaining to the romantic. There was simply something so idyllic and impossible enough to beckon for it in wishes as someone who'd heard and felt an immeasurable amount of times that such a thing was deemed unobtainable for someone like himself. If a magical romance that someone genuinely wanted to provide to him could exist for a very sensitive, mentally ill, special needs young man with the added challenge of a newly diagnosed medical condition, it would've been a truly wonderful truth to be bestowed with.
but i am scared that i am not worthy of his love or attention.
Dear darling Deo, he thought to himself in his subconscious remark, if I had thought you to be unworthy of it when I'd learned you had come back, I'd have already let you have it by now. I'd have kicked your pierced boy part so hard, it would have made it be stapled to where your taint place is.
muu is perfect in my eyes.
Was he sure? Had he been all the unaware that for three days straight, Muu had sobbed, not just cried, over the fact he thought he was dying due to someone theoretically not liking him. Not admittedly holding a negative feeling of that caliber towards him. No, just one he believed existed. It would turn out come one faithful morning that his revisit of the events that transpired that actually had been much more fine that his fast paced heart and anxious mind could recollect with great truth. Certainly remind him never go into an objective field. Something within the universe indicated he could not have managed such an expectation.
"Though I may not be agreeing with all the things in the letter, I still do love the Deo very much. And am the very happy that he has come back to be able to relearn about Muu in the way of watching him do healing. I'd rather.. not say me as something that has outgrown him. More like.. am the appreciative of getting to be seen as growing by him, you know?"
