simon riley x fem!reader (background price x reader) summary: you make a movie with simon. ↪or, john produces. tags/warnings: making a porno, rough sex (p in v), oral (f + m), please forgive my dialogue i'm trying my best, degradation / slut shaming, squirting, a little dubcon, size kink, a little pain, unnegotiated kink, john is mostly in the background but he's there
“Alright honey, move a little to the right.”
“Like this?”
“Just like that, sweetheart. Spread those legs a little.”
John had been your fluffer earlier, licked you until you were rarin’ to go, wet and soft and needy. He can probably still taste you on his mustache.
You’re taking photos now, leaning back on the bed, bare wet pussy spread for John and the camera. Your two fingers create a perfect V, showing him your winking hole, your pert clit.
He really wasn’t lying about producing– you hadn’t deeply suspected him, but there was a niggling little thought there that he was maybe putting it on to get you in bed. It had worked either way, but nice to know he’s honest.
Ghost, the masked man. Cheesy, but popular with women, John says. They like the mystery.
“Touch yourself a little,” John shifts the camera as you do, lightly petting your clit with two fingers, “that’s good, that’s real good.”
You dip two fingers into your hole, wet from John’s earlier attention, biting your lip in what you hope is a seductive manner for the camera. John chuckles low in his chest, cock pushing against his tight pants. The view makes your mouth water, but you aren’t here for John today.
You’re here for the giant of a man that walks through the doorway, wearing scuffed blue jeans and big black boots. The mask isn’t what you’d imagined, but it fits over the tight white t-shirt he’s wearing. A skull.
“Ah, Simon,” John turns to greet him, “there you are.”
Simon’s cock is already chubbed up in his jeans, long and thick against his leg. For a perverse moment you imagine what it would look like for he and John to push their bulges against each other, groaning, pec squeezed against pec, and your pussy clenches.
You wish John would perform, if only just to tag team you with this meaty specimen of a man.
Add it to the spankbank.
“John,” Simon greets him back, stepping into the room. He’s not even looking at you, which is hot for some reason you don’t care to parse. He lifts a boot and steps onto John’s stool, “fresh meat?”
John laughs, which seems to be the only answer Simon needs before he turns towards you finally and pins you to the bed with his gaze.
Your fingers pause, still dipped halfway inside, clit pulsing against the heel of your palm.
“Pretty,” he says, and just as you’re about to say thank you, “nice, Cap,” a pause, “picked a ripe one.”
He walks until his shins hit the bed, looking down at you and your spread legs, where your hand is still and your pussy drips onto the sheets. His eyelashes are pale, ghostly, strangely beautiful against his brown eyes.
You wish you could see his face, his expression, but John was right– they do like the mystery.
There’s a little hint of a scar that pokes up from his cheekbone, pulling the skin of his bottom lid a little, but there’s no time to examine him in detail.
“Right then,” John interrupts, “let’s take a few pictures.”
The first pose he puts you in is on Simon’s lap, explicitly directing you to press your pussy against his jeanclad thigh and make a little wet spot for us, will you, love?
It’s honestly humiliating, but you’re so tuned up that the heat of your embarrassment only adds to the tension.
“That’s good, that’s real good,” John murmurs, instructing Simon to put a heavy hand on your lower back, pressing you further into his leg.
Your clit drags against the fabric, and the camera snaps your open mouthed gasp.
“Pull her shirt down,” and Simon does; pulling your tanktop down until your tits fall out, soft and peaked, pressed against the worn fabric of his shirt.
You’re looking over your shoulder, hazy, bottom lip between your teeth. John snaps a few more before he places you in the next position.
All you can stare at is the dark patch on Simon’s jeans.
“This one’s for the cover,” he says, getting Simon to lay down and pull his jeans a little down– showing off the line of hair leading to the biggest tease; the beginnings of his bush, trapped under just his jeans.
He’s gone commando. All you can see is the little pudge of his pubis as it’s squished by his waistband, a tasty little tenderloin you want to bite.
You’re next; standing over Simon, legs wide open, looking down at him with your tits out and your thighs wet. It’s a movie-esque kind of pose, and in another universe maybe you’re decked out in cheap sci-fi costumes for a blockbuster.
Then he’s ready, and you have to re-dress. Tanktop goes back on, shorts get slid right back up your legs, and he puts you on top of the covers.
Simon prowls like a panther, graceful in his movements despite the sheer size of him. You’re leaned back, elbows on the bed, breathing harder the closer he gets.
“Felt that wet little pussy,” he says, voice low, “she’s more than ready for me, isn’t she? Probably soaking those slutty shorts.”
Uh huh,” you murmur, legs outstretched and straight before him.
John had told you a little bit of the ‘script’ beforehand, a loose skeleton to follow outside of improv, so you aren’t shocked when he pulls the button open on your shorts and pulls them down in one fell swoop.
“Look’it that,” his lips move under the mask. You wonder if he’s licking his lips, looking at your pussy like that.
He takes you by the ankle, dragging you across the mattress until you’re flat on your back and looking up at him.
“Haven’t even seen my cock yet,” he laughs meanly, his other hand reaching to take a big squeeze of his cock through his jeans, “and look’it that. Slag if I’ve ever seen one.”
Your face burns, breath stuttering. This wasn’t a part of the little warning John had given you, but you’re not that mad about it. Hot, humiliated– but not opposed.
Simon looks at you for barely another second before he’s crawled up to your face, knees on either side of your head.
Oh.
“Gimme a kiss.”
You lean forward, lips pressing against his rough jeans. He smells good, a little like cigarettes but there’s that musk you love so much. You mouthe against him until he pulls your head back to the mattress by your hair.
He pulls down his jeans, freeing a mostly plump cock that flops onto your cheek. Oh man, it’s weighty. The nestle of curls at the base of it is like a magnet for your eyes, too.
“I can take it all the way,” you look up into those inscrutable eyes.
“Yeah? Prove it.”
You take the tip first, licking it lewdly, turning to the camera every so often like John had told you to– just let them see those eyes, honey. Show them how much you like it.
So you do. You give big, wide eyes as Simon gets impatient and starts tunnelling down your throat, shoulders trapped beneath his heavy thighs.
When you gag, he laughs lowly, keeping you there. He runs a rough thumb over the taut stretch of your upper lip, down to your lower lip, palm cradling your jaw.
“That’s a good girl,” he slides backwards, jeans scraping your nipples through your tanktop, hardly giving you but a moment before he's pushing back in. Rinse and repeat.
It’s like with John, only Simon’s cock is a little different. Longer, and curved where John’s is thicker. The tip pokes you in the back of the throat, sometimes at the roof of your mouth from the awkward angle.
You feel crushed underneath him despite your entire lower half being free, legs coming up and thighs squeezing together as the camera pans towards them and John murmurs, “show me that pussy, honey.”
So you spread your legs, humiliated at the gluk-gluk-gluk sound coming from your throat but gushing impossibly more under the camera’s lens.
“That’s a pretty picture,” Simon grunts, sliding out of your mouth to tap the head against your lips, letting you stick your tongue out and drool drip down your chin, “yeah. Keep your mouth open.”
This is mostly for the camera, the way he rubs himself on your face, the way you lay there and keep your mouth open. You don’t have to fake the desperation, but still.
Simon’s a pro.
He leans back, fingers finding your bare cunt and sliding a finger along your slit. Slippery, swollen, the contact is like drinking water in the desert. Like the satisfying pleasure-pain of pressing down a bruise.
His finger slides up and down shallowly, never stopping where you need it while you kiss the underside of his cock.
“This cock-hungry pussy’s soakin’ my fingers,” his eyes squint, like he’s grinning under the mask, “reckon I could solve a drought with this,” he lifts his finger to your mouth, slipping them in for you to taste yourself.
Where the fuck did John find this guy?
You play along, face burning, sucking his fingers with a soft moan.
After a moment, he leans back and gets off you, pulling your tanktop down as he does so your tits bounce back out. Hello again, ladies.
There’s a small moment of stalling where John sets the camera up on a tripod near the end of the bed and Simon drags you so your head is towards the headboard, and then it’s 3 2 1 action again.
“Hands on the headboard,” Simon gruffs, then slides onto his belly and presses his mask to your cunt. Your hands fly to the headboard, hanging on for dear life as he inhales through the fabric.
Jesus. He rubs the knit on your swollen pussy, up and down, spreading you open with his covered chin and then pressing his nose to your clit.
You don’t have to exaggerate your sounds. They come naturally, rising in pitch when he pushes his mask up just enough to see his pink, scarred lips wrap around your engorged clit.
He’s greedy, eating more to taste you than to please you.
When he lifts his head, mouth wet and tongue poking out to lick the remnants of your slick, stopping at the cusp of your orgasm, you give the camera at the end of the bed your best wounded animal look.
Simon doesn’t take his jeans off when he gets back up to his knees, shuffling to kneel between your legs.
You notice all too late that he hasn’t fingered you, not even a little dip. He’s licked you, sucked on your clit until you were keening, but there’s a deadly focus in his eyes as he puts the fat head of his cock against your hole that tells you you’re in trouble.
“Got a good look at this?,” he grunts, tilted towards the camera, “this is the best part.”
Oh fuck, he pushes in and it feels like a hydraulic press; crushing pressure, a sting, stretching taught around him as you gasp–
“Pinching me,” he curls his lip, abdomen tensing, “Jesus.”
“Oh god, fuck,” you shiver, trying to keep your knees spread, wincing and gasping in deep breaths for air as he carves a space inside you for himself.
“Relax,” he squeezes in further. Stretching, painful, intensely delicious, “relax that cunt for me, sweetheart. Let her get what she needs. ”
You try, only noticing John as he palms his bulge, watching your pussy struggling to take Simon’s cock.
It takes a few see-sawing movements of his hips before you finally loosen a little around him and he really lets loose. Doesn’t let you take a breath, just starts pounding like he’s getting a bonus for it and you shout with surprise.
A vision of an adventuring viking comes to mind, beaten and lashed by storm, the only respite to hang onto the mast in the middle of a ship… that’s the headboard for you.
He fucks like animal, but it’s still as graceful as the way he moved when he first entered the room. How can a man that looks so rough, is so big, roll his spine and slap his hips into yours in such a dancerly way? His pace is inhuman.
His cock spears into you like he’s digging for gold, tilted just so that you’re loud with how good it feels and almost wincing every time he pokes a little too deep.
You think maybe it’s on purpose, what with the way he stares down at you, big hands coming to hold your midsection and dig his fingers into your skin.
Yeouch, that feels good.
“There she is,” he fucks you deep, unrelenting, groaning when he feels your hole start to squeeze, “doesn’t even need a hand, then,” he laughs.
He’s right. You don’t. Your abdomen squeezes, orgasm building, the first of its kind– without any kind of contact on your clit, that is.
You try to hold back for as long as possible, try to make eyes at the camera again, but you’re lost to the feeling of getting fucked so good and so deep. The feeling builds and builds and steamrolls you, legs shaking where they’re spread, ears going deaf with the blood rushing in them.
A scream bursts forth from your throat at the same time as you literally spray, slick soaking Simon’s jeans and the bottom of his t-shirt.
There’s no time to be embarrassed with the hard, punitive thrusts he gives you as he rides his orgasm out behind yours, filling you up with hot come.
You’re boneless, after. Laying nice and still for John to get closeups of your creampie’d pussy, for Simon to rest his spent cock between your pussylips and grin under his mask, tucking himself back into his soiled jeans as John dismisses him.
He’s damp everywhere, but he strolls over to John’s little minibar area and pours himself a whiskey like it doesn’t bother him.
John doesn’t give you a break, either. He pans the camera to the mess on the bed, the wet spot you’d caused by squirting all over Simon’s cock.
John grins at you from behind the camera.
“You’re a natural, honey.”

Martian Manhunter has seen many things happen in the Watchtower situation room, but this might be one of the strangest.
One of Gotham’s many vigilantes- Red Hood, if he wasn’t mistaken- stormed into the room, slammed his palms on the far side of the long table, and said, “You need to check what the asteroid is made of.”
The asteroid in question was one line item of many agenda points for this meeting. The radar had picked it up as one on a collision course with Earth, but they had protocols for this. They’d dealt with similar situations multiple times before. It’s not often though, that they have uninvited attendees to justice league meetings. That alone is enough to make J’onn wonder.
“How did you get up here, son?” Superman, always the diplomat, attempts to calm some of the confusion.
“Irrelevant. The asteroid. What’s its composition?”
Batman has less patience. “The protocols are in place to deal with the threat. Red Hood—“
“They won’t work.”
Green Lantern, ever not the diplomat, rolls his eyes. “Kid, we’ve dealt with similar situations dozens of times. Care to explain why this one is so special?”
“Just trust me.”
Batman sighs. “I think we’ve heard enough, Hood.”
“No. Wait. I have it on good authority that the usual protocol won’t work.” He retorts, then stares directly at Batman, as if that statement wasn’t just another empty platitude.
Batman’s jaw flexes. An understanding passes between them.
“What authority?” Diana questions, stone faced.
As if in response, the door opens again. A familiar face pops in, seemingly oblivious to the meeting. It’s a member of the Watchtower tech staff. Danny.
“Ah. Whoops,” Danny stutters. “Didn’t know you all were in here. My bad.”
Red Hood transfers his glare to this newcomer, but Danny seems blissfully immune to it. Batman remains uncharacteristically speechless as Danny steps further into the room.
“But while I’m here—“ Danny hits a switch on the wall and a crisp blue light projection of their solar neighborhood beams into view above the table. “I upgraded the holo projectors.” The planets spin and their clouds swirl and their many moons dance in orbit. It’s incredibly accurate and finely detailed.
“Pretty cool, right?”
And there, just beyond the rings of Saturn, is the asteroid in question.
Danny meets Batman’s eyeline and raises his eyebrows. Another silent exchange. It has J’onn on edge. He trusts the team around this table implicitly. He does not, however, trust those who haven’t earned their seat.
He reaches out telepathically for Danny, intending just a surface level read of his intentions. But Upon making connection he’s met with infinite nebulae, an endless vortex, an impossible cold. He grips his knees under the table, suddenly fighting not to be overwhelmed, and then in a snap he’s cut off. Like a fly being swatted.
Danny’s eyes slide to him, slowly. Sorry about that. Should have warned you it’s dangerous to look too close. Danny’s voice echoes across the telepathic link.
J’onn sits up straighter. Just what kind of creature had Batman let on this station?
What do you know. J’onn demands.
Nothing you can’t figure out. Y’all aren’t that dense.
“It’s Kryptonite.” Superman’s dark tone brings his attention back to the table. Batman’s at the holo controls— he’s zoomed in on the asteroid and data and projection lines flicker all around it.
“No- it looks almost like lantern energy. Like it’s a construct.” Green Lantern has lost his snark. A reprieve certainly, but never a good omen.
“Either possibility makes redirection challenging. Destruction inadvisable.” Batman frowns.
J’onn keeps his eyes on Danny, who now seems to be on the receiving end of a whispered lecture from the still-inexplicable Red Hood. Danny looks unbothered, and indeed instead appears like he is rather enjoying himself.
Voices raise around the table as more solutions are offered and discarded. This is not how he expected this meeting to go.
Or maybe you all are that dense. Danny muses down the apparently still-active link.
J’onn is about to interrogate him further when he stops. He’s arrived at the answer to their conundrum.
“Density shifting.”
“J’onn?” Batman quiets the rest of the table and everyone’s focus shifts.
“We density shift the asteroid so it passes through the Earth harmlessly. Between myself and Miss Martian it should be possible.”
Murmurs of assent fill the room. Batman’s gaze goes again to Danny, and J’onn’s follows.
The supposed mechanic is smiling at them like a pleased housecat.
Batman keeps eye contact with Danny down the length of the table. Danny stands at the opposite head, next to Red Hood. For a moment J’onn wonders if the command of the room has shifted.
Until Danny shrugs and says, “Sounds plausible enough. Don’t look at me. I’m just a mechanic.”
J’onn reaches for the telepathic link, but it’s gone. Danny turns to leave, Red Hood at his heels, but before he does he winks at J’onn on his way out the door.
J’onn blinks. The air in the room shifts and settles as soon as Danny’s gone. Batman begins outlining the logistics of the new plan, but J’onn barely hears him.
He can’t get that flash of endless void out of his head. And yet the link did end up leaving an impression of Danny’s intentions after all: Kindness. Secrecy. And a pure, desperate desire to help.
Very strange indeed.

“I could have handled it,” Jason says over his shoulder as he stirs the bolognese sauce.
Danny’s sprawled out on the couch with some trashy tv on in the background. “You did great.”
“I’m just saying— you didn’t have to show up.”
“What if I just wanted to see steam come out of Batman’s ears in person?”
“You get to do that every time we go to family dinner,” he pauses to taste the sauce, adds a dash more pepper. “I thought it was supposed to be risky. Y’know- for you to get involved.”
“It is, yeah. Which is the reason for all this roundabout mumbo jumbo. Making them figure it out themselves. Means I’m less likely to get caught.”
He taps his spoon and turns to face Danny. “Why risk it then? Why not just let them deal with it on their own? They would have figured out how to deal with the asteroid eventually.”
“Probably, yeah. But how late? How many of people would have gotten hurt- or worse- in that process?”
Jason sighs. he knows trying to convince Danny to be less self sacrificing is like arguing with a carbon steel wall. The timer beeps and he drains the noodles.
“I was just gonna go handle it myself on the sly but— turned out that dumb rock had enough ectoranium in it to resist ghost powers.”
“You didn’t have to do that either.”
Danny shrugs as Jason plates the pasta and hands him a bowl. Jason takes his seat on the couch next to him.
By the time he’s settled Danny has already shoved a big bite of pasta in his mouth. “You’ve really outdone yourself.” He says between chews.
Jason smiles, but he’s not ready to let it go. “If you’re gonna keep doing this, you gotta let me help you.”
“For sure,” he replies between chews.
“Like, actually help you.”
“Of course.”
“Danny. For real though. If you get caught— I can’t— ugh.” Jason sets his bowl on the coffee table and turns to look Danny in the eye. “All I’m saying is that if you get yoinked away to some other dimension as punishment I’m going to be pretty pissed, okay?”
Danny puts his fork down and gives him a wry look.
“But really, me helping you can’t be /that/ against the rules. And if it is, surely you’ll come save me if I get yoinked too, yeah?”
Danny releases a breathy laugh. “Of course! Of course.” He sighs, and his smile fades. “I really wasn’t going to get involved. I was just gonna get a degree, get a normal enough job, just try to live a life while I could.”
“So do that. The Justice League’s problems aren’t your personal responsibility.”
“No, but— If I have the power to help people— to save people— and I don’t, that kinda makes me a shitty person, no?”
“Not if it means risking the whole life you built.”
“I don’t have a life to risk, remember?”
“You do to me!” He’s raised his voice without meaning to, and Danny looks up at him wide-eyed. Jason’s stomach flips, but he’s still not ready to back down, because it’s true.
The life Danny brought to him over the past months is apparent everywhere around them. His shirts heaped over the chair, the kind of coffee he likes in the cabinet and the mug that’s become his, the dirty dishes from all the meals Jason would have never cooked just for himself, the shitty punk music he insisted on playing. It’s a warmth and a light that’s seeped into his home, and even deeper into the core of himself. He didn’t know he could still feel so alive.
Danny’s eyebrows stitch together and he goes pensive, which Jason rarely has seen. Jason takes a bite of pasta to fill the silence, lukewarm now.
“Oh.” Danny whispers emphatically. “Shit.”
And suddenly Jason is questioning everything. Is this thing they have not real to Danny the way it is for him? Is he just the plaything of a god?
“Jay. I didn’t think—“ he starts and takes a shaky breath. “You’re not supposed to care about me.”
Jason blanks. “What?”
“Im allowed to be human under like, so many conditions. And even then I’m not sure what the hell I even am sometimes. This could all go away at any second, and I have very little control of if and when that happens.”
“So?”
“So? That means I’m going to hurt you, inevitably, whether I want to or not. And I can’t— I won’t—“
Danny’s hands shake, and Jason wordlessly reaches out and pulls him close. He brings Danny’s head to his chest and wraps his arms tight around him. Danny relaxes into him, ear resting over the gentle thud of his heart.
“I don’t care, you dumbass.” And he truly doesn’t. He likes the way Danny makes him feel. He likes the person he is with him. Even if Danny broke his heart on purpose it would still be worth it.
“You should,” the words are muffled through Jason’s shirt. “You shouldn’t want to be with me.”
“Too bad. Also, false. My boyfriend is a god-king with cosmic powers beyond comprehension. Pretty sure that makes me the lucky one.”
Danny chuckles and lifts his chin just enough to meet Jason’s eyes. “I’m going to cosmically comprehend your ass all the way to Pluto if you say something as cringe as that ever again.”
“Mm. Threats. Hot.”
Danny swats at him. Jason just holds him tighter and Danny fights against his arms playfully. Jason knows he could break out at any moment if he really wanted to, but he doesn’t. Instead he settles again, cradled on Jason’s lap.
“I’m not going anywhere.” Jason breathes into the top of Danny’s mop of hair. “And for now neither are you. And I’ll kick whoever’s ass who has a problem with that.”
“Even mine?”
“Definitely yours.”
“Good.”
Danny lifts up and presses his lips to Jason’s in a cheeky kiss. And Jason eagerly kisses him back.

That’s all I’ve got planned for this little AU, thanks for reading :3
DPxDC Mechanical Engineer Danny
Danny caught the attention of Batman while studying at Gotham University for his alternative energy projects. He’s hired right out of college to work on the Watchtower.
He shows absolutely no tell of his abilities till there’s a dire situation- Flash’s electric discharge messes with one of his projects in progress and the whole base would have lost air pressure if he hadn’t done a quick fix using telekinesis and ice.
Of course Batman notices.
Batman assumes the worst- he suspects Danny’s a rogue of some kind, someone who has infiltrated the Justice League with an ulterior motive. But he can’t just fire Danny now- he’s the only one who knows how the new Watchtower energy source works. Plus, he’s not letting Danny go anywhere until he’s figured out his true motives.
Cue Batman subtly testing Danny- tossing things at him to trigger inhuman fast reflexes, having him lift too-heavy machinery, setting up convenient opportunities to steal or snoop or otherwise be up to no good. Danny does take advantage but only once, to use a computer terminal with unlocked clearance. He didn’t plant any bugs that Barman could find, and he otherwise kept up his powerless civilian act perfectly.
Still, Batman’s not satisfied. He brings an infrasonic sound emitter to Danny’s lab one day, and that, of all things, is what gets Danny to break.
“I know what you’re doing,” Danny admits with a sigh, finally. “If you’re really that suspicious of me, I can leave, but I kinda like my job so I’d prefer not to. The benefits are insane compared to what’s standard.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure. yeah. How about you turn off the freaking noise generator and we can talk?”
“Hm.” Batman obliges, and he takes the stool next to Danny at his gesture.
“Number one, I’m not a meta. Despite all the data and conclusions you’ve probably drawn otherwise. Number two, I’m on your side. I’m here to work on the base, that’s it. I follow your rules to the letter.”
“The-“
“The classified files I looked at? Yeah that was the one exception. You already know what I looked at, I’m sure, but maybe you haven’t figured out why. It goes back to point one- I may not be a meta, but I am something that organization, the GIW, cares about. I looked at your files on them to sus out your relations. Seeing as I don’t particularly love being the victim to twelve degrees of human rights violations if I can avoid it.”
“Hm.” The Ghost Intelligence Ward was one of many government agencies that the Justice League hadn’t worked closely with. But they also hadn’t been flagged for Justice League investigation. Danny’s comments made him doubt that call.
“Any other questions?”
“If you’re not a meta, what are you?”
“I’m an engineer. A pretty decent one. And I’d really, really like it to stay that way.”
Batman considers, and ultimately lets him stay. He likes Danny (everyone likes Danny), and it would be a massive pain in the ass to replace him. He really is a good engineer.
It’s only much later that his faith in Danny is repaid in spades.
Batman finds Danny on the Watchtower command bridge. Alarms are blaring, the station has been knocked out of orbit, out the window there’s shrapnel floating everywhere as a space battle rages around them.
On the station it’s chaos. Technicians run around, shouts from the med bay, sparks from the walls.
Batman and Danny stand at the main controls, watching the battle outside, stoic, unmoving.
Wonder Woman’s harried voice crackles through on coms: “We need backup.”
“There is no more backup.” Batman replies, while looking pointedly at Danny.
“What?”
Batman doesn’t move.
“What.”
“The impact from Darkseid’s initial attack should have sent this station on a terminal trajectory toward the planet.”
“Well. We aren’t currently plummeting to our deaths, so turns out it didn’t do that.”
“You did something.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“You’re lying.”
“Maybe Superman nudged us back on course in all the chaos.”
“I’ve been watching the trackers. No one else with the capability has come near the station.”
“Can’t you just be grateful we got lucky?”
Sounds of peril screech over the coms. Danny’s face scrunches.
“Luck had nothing to do with it. As it is now, we are going to lose this fight.”
“Isn’t there anyone else you can call?”
“I’m asking you. You can help, can’t you?”
The glare-off lasts a long moment more before Danny breaks.
“Fuck. Fuckity fuck.” Danny runs his hands through his hair. “Shit. You don’t know what you’re asking.”
“I’m asking you to save this and countless other worlds from a genocide. I’m also asking you to save my friends.”
Danny looks at him, hard, weary, and with a kind of deep resolve that feels far too ancient to be on the face of a supposed twenty-something.
“Fine. Fine. Okay.” He steps back and transforms. If Batman is surprised when he shakes off his human appearance like an old coat, he doesn’t show it. But what’s undeniable is the being in Danny’s place has the unmistakable presence of power.
“No one else can know.” His voice echoes in a way that’s sonically impossible, both sounding closer and further away than he should be.
He pulls a gear-shaped medallion seemingly out of thin air and puts it over his head in one motion.
“If I get in trouble for this, I’m blaming you.”
He vanishes. Outside, the shape of the battle changes instantly. The stars seem to glow brighter as the arms of the galaxy flash with the colors of the aurora. Then it’s like the void of space itself comes alive. It moves the spaceships back like they’re toys, plucking them from one side of the field to the other. It finds Darkseid at the heart of the chaos and massive arms of nothingness and darkness wrap around him. He’s screaming as it swallows him whole.
His armies scatter. The battle turns. The JL deal with the stragglers, but the air of relief is palpable.
Danny reappears next to Batman, once again donning his grease-stained coveralls. Arms folded.
“Happy?”
It took all of five minutes. Less, probably. Batman tamps down a thousand questions.
“Thank you.”
“I’m gonna need two weeks off minimum.” Danny snaps. “One to deal with the bureaucratic nightmare you’ve just caused me, and another to recover from the headache.”
Batman blanks. “Granted.”
Danny sighs. “And I’m not fixing the station until I’m back. It won’t fall out of the sky as is. Make up whatever excuse you want.”
“Done.” He considers. “I would prefer to tell them the truth. That you saved us.”
Danny glares. “I’m not supposed to save you. I made a pact not to use my power to influence the mortal realm.”
“A pact with who?”
Danny rolls his eyes. “The embodiment of Time. The concept of Justice. Among others.” He smirks at Batman’s confusion.
“And what, exactly, does that make you?”
He stands, framed by the space window, haloed by the stars. “I’ll give you three guesses.”
Batman frowns.
“Look. I like you guys. I like working on your base. I like supporting the work you do. But you can not go factoring me in to any of your plans or contingencies. This was a one time thing.
“So to answer your question again: I’m an engineer.”

Sev with reader whos actually really insecure and sad and frustrated that Sevika won't say 'i love you' back or out loud despite them having a strong long enough to say I love you relationship.
"Please, Say it Once."
Mentions of abuse, Sevika being mean as fuck, emotional abuse

It was today, you'd confront her today.
You knew Sevika wasn't big on verbal affection or babying and coddling you but lately you've been feeling even more neglected than the usual.
Your past traumas made you feel like she was cheating on you. Probably in bed with some other woman. Some other woman who she'd actually say "I love you" to and some other woman she'd commit to.
You knew from the start that Sevika had this problem but you didn't want her to feel like she was the problem or anything.
You wanted to be her special someone who would be there with her through thick and thin. But now it was simply just emotional abuse and you'd cry yourself to sleep as Sevika slept peacefully snoring beside you.
What if you brought it up and Sevika suddenly wanted to break with you? What would you do? You didn't know so you decided to make it a good setting when you'd confront her.
That's how you found yourself in the living room, pouring out a glass of whiskey for Sevika, heart pounding violently against your chest.
Sevika takes the glass with a mumbled "Thanks" and that's when you finally managed to say it.
"You know I don't need grand gestures or poetic words." You paused. "I just want to hear you say it, just once." You said, your last words coming out more saddened than you anticipated it to be. Sevika didn't answer you. She didn't even look at you. Did you even matter to her?
She swirled the amber liquid in the glass, taking a breath before saying, "You already know how I feel. Why's it matter?"
Her words cut deeper than they should've. Your fingers fidgeted, anxiously picking at the cuticles of your nails before you said, "Because it just matters! Every time I say it I'm usually always met with silence. It's like talking to a wall!"
Sevika paused and huffed a deep sigh, lines of her face prominent in the dim golden lights of the room.
"I'm still here, aren't I? Still coming back to you every single day despite the mind crushing, bone crushing work I do for Silco every day." You can tell Sevika is trying to keep her cool, her words shuddering with controlled rage and anger.
You looked at her, grey eyes meeting with yours. There guilt flickering somewhere deep behind the façade of animalistic anger.
"Your body is here, your mind and heart are with some other woman." Was what you wanted to say but held your tongue.
"Just say it, please," your words, now a soft plea, were teetering at the edge of tears building up somewhere behind your tearducts.
Sevika didn't say anything, veins in her neck flexing, jaw tensing. She didn't say anything, held her silence. Held her pride. Her ego.
"You can... But you wont." You spat and turned to run away and lock yourself in your room, tears starting to roll down your face in a steady stream.
Sevika grabbed your wrist with her mechanical hand, metallic tips of her fingers digging into the delicate skin of your hand, you flinched.
Sevika slammed the glass down, crushing it against the table with her flesh hand easily, liquid spilled everywhere. "Don't start." Sevika stuttered, for the first time it was, but she stuttered. "You know it."
"Then why can't you just say it?"
Sevika looked like for a second she'd bash your hand in but she didn't. She took a second, exhaling through her nose, nostrils flaring.
"Saying it makes it real." Sevika sounded vulnerable, eyes darting down at the floor. You blinked in confusion, all emotions coming at a halt. "I say it and it's out there, you get used to it. You think you can get the tough and gruff Sevika just say 'i love you' to you and you're all high and mighty that's the cue for you to leave—"
You put a finger to her lips, shushing her. "I'm not going anywhere."
"And if you do?"
"I won't." You said firmly and slowly brought your hands up to cup your face. "Loving someone isn't a weakness. It's not a death sentence."
For a second the both of you stayed silent, foreheads pressing against one anothers.
"You spilled all the whiskey, and I poured it for you." You pouted sadly making Sevika's heart clench. She slowly stroked your hair.
"I'm so sorry, bunny." Sevika's apology was quiet and whispered, such a contrast to her previous tone. "I love you, my angel."

Hello everyone! Here's a new au for you all! Don't worry, I'm still going to be doing a part 3 for the Disir au, but this is something for you all while you wait! Enjoy! :D
This au takes place in a modern setting where Merlin has been waiting for Arthur for over 1500 years. Merlin believes that Arthur will rise directly from the lake, as Kilgharrah led him to believe, but in actuality, Arthur, Gwen, and all the knights were reincarnated and born into new lives without any memory of their past lives.
In this modern setting, Arthur's reincarnation, Arthur Penn, works for a top-secret task force in MI6, known as the Knights. The Knights are tasked with monitoring and hunting down dangerous otherworldly or supernatural threats.
The Knights task force was successful for many years, up until one fateful mission. The team was exploring a cave with high levels of strange radiation, which usually indicated strong supernatural forces. While they didn’t encounter anything in the cave, agent Lance DuLac got separated from the group somehow and was missing for several hours before they found him sitting in front of some crystals, seemingly entranced.
While he was physically fine, Lance was never quite the same afterwards, having strange dreams or speaking in an unknown language at random. Since one of their best agents was left near-insane and they didn't even find anything, that mission was deemed a disaster, which led to the Knights getting disbanded by their superiors.
After the Knights were disbanded, Arthur was put on several solo missions, hunting down supernatural creatures, but he eventually got a new mission.
MI6 had been following and observing an entity known as Emrys for decades, ever since the 1930’s, when reports of an “immortal man” first reached intelligence agencies.
Ever since Emrys's immortality and presence through history was confirmed, MI6 always had someone trailing him and documenting his actions. However, he had never shown any real threat to humanity despite his estimated power level sitting at that of a god’s. In fact, the only documented case of any sort of power from that they had observed in their 90 years of tailing him was during WWII, when a bomb was dropped over his little cottage and he made it disappear with a wave of his hand.
Over the years, the post of watching Emrys had become the most laid-back and least threatening job in the entire supernatural department of MI6. After all, he had never hurt anyone in the entire time that they had watched him, so all an agent had to do was keep their distance and they’d be fine. Hell, it was practically a 9 to 5 job. It was, as far as jobs within the supernatural department went, extremely boring.
Which made agent Arthur Penn extremely overqualified for the post. Unfortunately, agent Gwaine Greene, who had been assigned to Emrys post in the years following the Knights’ disbandment, had been running his mouth to their superiors that Arthur was too high strung and throwing himself into one dangerous mission after the next and needed a lighter mission to cool down. And, even more unfortunately, their superiors had listened to that loudmouth.
So now Arthur was being assigned to watch an old man for an unspecified amount of time. Yay, this was exactly what he hoped his career as an agent at MI6 would look like. Agent coordinator Gwen Smith gave him his debrief, showing him the extensive file that MI6 had on Emrys, his abilities, his routine, and his alternate appearances, because apparently this bloke could change his age as well.
So, Arthur begins his new assignment with a generally bad attitude, but he still performs his duties. Arthur tails Emrys, during which time Emrys mostly sticks to the routine that Gwen had showed him: walking around a nearby lake every morning, then going into town for lunch and to chat with locals about mundane things like the weather, going back home, reading and writing and cooking and cleaning, and then going to bed. Rinse and repeat.
However, as the weeks go by, Arthur notices something… strange. All the previous agents who had post had reported that, even if he knew they were trailing him, Emrys never really paid them much attention. A passing glance or a knowing smile perhaps, but never anything overt. A few years ago, one agent even made the bold move of having a drink next to Emrys in a pub, and Emrys had only asked him if he was "off the clock". If Emrys was upset about being followed, he certainly didn't show it.
So this? This had never happened to any of the other agents watching Emrys before.
A few weeks into his new post, Emrys had started… staring at Arthur. The stares were accompanies by an unnerving feeling, like Arthur was an insect pinned against a microscope. Like Emrys was looking into Arthur very soul and judging him for something.
The feeling of being watched by Emrys made the hairs of the back of Arthur's neck rise, just like whenever he was facing down monsters that looked like they crawled out of humanity's worst nightmares. He was the one supposed to do the watching, not the other way around!
After only three days of Emrys's petrifying stares, Arthur decided to go back to headquarters and give them an update. If Emrys's behavior had changed so suddenly, it might be a sign that the entity was planning something bigger, and they needed to be prepared for anything the immortal could throw their way.
Arthur's paranoia at being watched must have really gotten to him over the past few days though, because for the entire trip back to London, he swore he could see glimpses of Emrys out of the corner of his eyes. But every time he whirled around to see if Emrys truly was following him, there was nothing there. Besides, Emrys had never once left that little town by the lake in over 90 years. Why would he leave now?
Arthur arrived back at headquarters by the end of the day, and he quickly arranged a meeting with his superiors. If Emrys was plotting something, the entire supernatural division had to go on high alert.
About halfway through through the meeting, however, the lights started to flicker and the entire building started to shake, as if a massive earthquake was happening. Everyone sprang into action, weapons in hand and ready for any attack, but Arthur's eyes went wide with panic. He knew, somehow, what- or who- was behind this.
Sure enough, a guard burst into the room a couple second later, yelling about how Emrys was in the lobby making demands and shaking the earth with his anger.
Arthur and his bosses ran out to the lobby and were met with a horrible sight: Emrys standing at their front door with the guards' weapons disintegrating before they could even take aim at him.
"I will not ask you again. Where is he?"
Emrys's voice was more impatient than furious, but the threat of his power was more than enough to send a shover down everyone's spine, Arthur's most of all. Because while his superiors and fellow agents were frantically whispering to each other, trying to figure out who Emrys could be referring to, Arthur knew. There was only one mortal Emrys had shown any interest in over the past 90 years, after all.
"He's after me." The whispering of the agents around Arthur ceased as a horrified hush fell over the group. "I don't know why, but he's looking for me."
The agents around him shared a look, which slowly morphed from terrified to determined.
"Then we have to make sure he doesn't get to you," Gwaine said, uncharacteristically solemn. "Whatever reason he wants you for, it can't be good for anyone."
The other agents around them nodded and murmured in agreement, even as their voices were quickly drowned out by the rumbling of the building around them and the sounds of gunfire and screams behind them.
Suddenly, Lance, who had been silent the entire time, cut in.
"I know a back way out of the building. I can sneak Arthur through the back and escape to a safehouse, somewhere Emrys can't find us."
"No, absolutely not. I won't run away and leave you all to fight-"
"Arthur." Gwen's voice cut off his denial. "For all we know, if he gets his hands on you, he could become even more dangerous. Please, if not for your sake, then for everyone's: don't let him get to you."
Arthur swallowed thickly, holding back tears. Lance looked at him, his face growing more and more panicked as the sounds of conflict grew closer and closer to their hiding spot.
"Alright, I'll go, but I expect to see all of you when I get back. You told me not to let him get ahold of me, but the same goes for all of you: no dying on me today, got it? Especially not to some ancient bloke."
His friends smiled and nodded at him, and Lance took his arm and started leading him through the building, running down narrow hallways and darkened corridors until they reached a small, hidden exit on the side of the building, disguised among the building's brick exterior. The two of them burst out of the building into the adjacent alleyway, out of breath from their frantic sprint.
"Alright, where to now? How do we get to this safehouse of yours?"
Lance turned to face Arthur, but there was something strange about him. His face looked oddly conflicted and... guilty?
"I'm sorry, Arthur."
"What? Lance, what are you-"
Arthur froze as a figure stepped into entrance to the alley, blocking the only escape route. Arthur's hands reached for his gun, but he froze as two burning golden eyes stared into his soul.
And then, the world around him went dark.
I hope you all enjoyed this au! To clarify, Lance was trapped in the crystal cave and saw his memories of his past life as Lancelot, which led to him seeking out Merlin and forming a plan with him to get Arthur assigned to Emrys watching post so that Merlin could take Arthur to the crystal cave and finally reunite with his king.
And, as always, thank you for reading through my ramblings! :D

Heya!! I LOVE your pocket AU and your OP obsession is so damn relatable ^-^!! I love reading and re-reading… and RE-re-reading your work and everyday I look at your account at least once! You’re so cool and your work is just *genuine chef’s kiss*
Now… I never ask anything to anybody… requests aren’t really something I do so I’m just gonna go for it… in your pocket spouse AU.. imagine a human who’s like SUPER talented in art… mostly traditional art… and he/she/they become a pocket spouse… and ONE DAY… this human draws their spouses as a beautifully drawn masterpiece… I wonder how they’d react… (I’m mostly asking for TFOne… but I don’t mind if you put TFP OP in there lol)
I can imagine Sentinel finding this super cute and bragging about it, even asking his spouse for more… buying his little lover the stuff it would need to create more masterpieces like that…
I only have an idea for Sentinel… but I also wanted to know how YOU’D think they’d react… anyway I think I yapped a lot… idc I love your work enough to make it worth yapping about! Which is a RARE occurrence even for me.
- With luv, Meg >:3
hello! and kdbskvu thank you so much for the kind words!!! <3 hope you'll enjoy these short headcanons <3

word count: 1200
Sentinel is thrilled.
Finally, someone has managed to capture his beauty and magnificence in art, naturally, without exaggeration. The way you have transferred his image onto paper is truly admirable, and in his optics, it is a masterpiece. Not only because he is the inspiration behind your artwork, of course. Though he will undoubtedly go on and on about himself, criticizing every tiniest detail and pointing out proportions, he is still genuinely happy in his own egotistical and manic way that his adorable pocket spouse has gifted him such a delightful present.
Naturally, your painting will be displayed in a very visible place so that every bot can admire how talented Sentinel’s human is, and so the self-proclaimed ruler of Iacon can boast about you and your skills. After all, you are his pocket spouse, you must be the best, and your artistic talent must match the grandiosity of his ego.
One portrait/artwork will definitely not be the last. The moment Sentinel discovers that you have a knack for transferring his likeness onto paper in such an exquisite way, he will definitely ask for more. This time, however, he will suggest that he be your live model to make it easier for you to capture his beauty. And yes, he will be striking different poses (you ARE drawing him like one of your French girls), expecting you to capture every single one. You’re going to have a lot of fun with him. Of course, your patience will be tested, he will underestimate how long a single drawing session can take, so expect some hurrying up, but his nagging will fade into the background when he praises your skills, staring at the drawings with a kind of genuine admiration you have never seen in him before.
You mentioned traditional art, so Sentinel will definitely find a way to scan his portrait onto his datapad. He glances at it whenever he doesn’t have access to the physical copy, or simply when he starts missing you while dealing with the utterly boring (and manipulative) business of ruling a city under his forged Prime title.
And yes, you will never run out of art supplies with him around. Sentinel will make sure you have the most exquisite drawing tools, ensuring you never run out. You must keep creating such magnificent works of art for him!
"Oh Primus, oh Primus, this is for me? Really?! Oh, I’m so happy! No one has ever drawn anything for me before! Thank you, thank you so much!" dies
To say that B-127 is happy with your drawing would be an understatement. He is ecstatic, absolutely over the moon that you willingly did something for him. Ugh, his sweet pocket spouse! He will literally be ugly crying while yapping about how much he loves you, how beautifully you drew him, and how grateful he is for such an amazing gift.
As thanks, he will smother your entire face with kisses (still sobbing and wailing) before pulling you into his chassis, holding your artwork in his other servo, unable to take his optics off it.
"Is this really how you see me?" He looks so cool, so good. Whatever self-image he has built in his processor, whether it’s B-127 or Badassatron, you have managed to perfectly capture it on paper. And he will not let you forget it. Will tell you this the first, second, and fiftieth time, because Bee will not shut up about praising your skills for a long time after receiving his portrait.
Sometimes, you catch him staring at the drawing, wearing an enormous, dreamy smile while his digit gently strokes the paper, careful not to damage it.
At some point, he will shyly ask if you could make another drawing — but this time, he really wants you to be in it too. Whether it’s you sitting on his shoulder or holding hands, B-127 wants you to be in every part of his life, always and forever. And that includes a snapshot of your life together, captured on paper <3
Elita’s reaction may not be as explosive as Bee’s or Sentinel’s, but internally, she is barely holding herself back from bouncing off the walls with excitement. If she could, she would staple your masterpiece to her spark.
When you show her your drawing, Elita takes her time. She studies it carefully, searching for details, memorizing every single feature, immersing herself in human art. The silence as she does this is deadly and nerve-wracking — but then, a simple and meaningful, "It’s beautiful." and you know you did a good job. That’s a rare compliment from her, after all.
Elita doesn’t praise often. She doesn’t like sugarcoating things. So when she does compliment you, it’s like winning the lottery.
On the surface, she may seem indifferent, and her reaction may come across as cold or ungrateful — but inside, she is overjoyed that you chose to spend your time capturing her likeness on paper. And in such an amazing way!
This is an especially key moment in your relationship because, at first, Elita didn’t understand the hype around pocket spouses. You were assigned to her, not her choice, and it took her time to warm up to you. But this gift, this drawing, ignites little sparks of a growing bond. A bond that, if nurtured properly, could become something truly special.
Optimus is deeply touched that you chose to spend your time drawing him, but he is also intrigued. So this is how you see me type beat.
You give him a new perspective on himself — one that he has never thought about before. For the first time, he can look at himself through your vision of him. Maybe… just maybe, it will help his self-esteem a little?
Of course, he won’t let it show. His reaction will be humble, but he is happy. Immensely so. It is a great honor to receive something from you, especially something given from the heart, not out of obligation. His gratitude won’t be overly expressive as words suddenly seem to get caught in his intake, blocked by the overwhelming emotions — but he will make sure you know how thankful he is. That he sees how much effort you put into this, and that your artwork is masterful.
He will definitely hang it above his desk in his habsuite. A risky and irresponsible choice, because Optimus will constantly catch himself pausing his work to admire and analyze the masterpiece you created for him.
He is still working on understanding human art and its meaning, but in this case, he is certain that you have done an incredible job.
He will try to repay you. He is a busy mech, always with so much on his servos, but for you, he will always carve out some free time to prepare a gift in return. And as an old-fashioned mech with a romantic spark, he would write you a poem.
It will be cryptic, intricate — just like his overwhelming and tangled feelings for you. But it will be a glimpse into his spark. A moment of unveiling, revealing a part of himself he keeps hidden.
He will read it to you in private, in a quiet, intimate place, hoping that you will cherish his love almost as much as he cherishes the gift of your artwork <3

Driving lessons?
Summary— When Carlos Sainz III is old enough for his road license, who’s better than his formula one driver of a father to teach him how to drive?
Warnings— none
A/N— Carlo is his nickname, Viviana makes a small appearance along with Lando.
Translations— ‘Mi hija’ : daughter ‘Mi hijo’ : son ‘si, mi Amor’ : yes, my love

Carlos had feared this day for around 17 years. When his son would ultimately need to get a real drivers license and not one for a junior formula. He was acting fine, until his wife forced him to dish lessons to his son. Almost spitting image of his father. “Papa, I don’t want to crash your car!” His son argued.
“Carlo, you’ll be fine.” Carlos said calm, despite the anxiety levels rising in his body. “It’s only my Bentley mi hijo, and I’ll be riding with you.” He added. As if she knew there was something to tease her brother about, Viviana entered the room.
“Scared of driving?” She laughed. Carlos gave her a look. “What? He drives a formula 2 car, how hard can it really be?” She defended herself against her father’s look.
“I’d like to see you try.” Carlo said. The teenagers go back and forth a minute before Carlos interjects. “Papa, it’s different!”
“I know, so then let’s go.” Carlos encouraged. The boy rolled his eyes and followed his dad out the front door. “Mi hija, don’t forget your chores. Mama will be home from work soon.” The 15 year old rolled her eyes but went on to do her chores as asked.
Carlos, being as rich as he is, pulled into the reserved karting track for his son to practice driving. They swapped seats and Carlos felt his hands get clammy at the thought. His little boy all grown up and about to drive his luxury car around a karting track.
“First, I want you to adjust everything.” He sighed. “The seat, mirrors, anything.” His son did just that. Moving the seat to accommodate his tall figure and mirrors to see everything necessary. “Okay, to shift gears, press the break firmly.”
“How different is this from my racing car?” His son asked. The nerves slamming his emotions completely now. The thought was one thing, but he’s actually sitting in a driver seat.
“Not too different, you just don’t feel the constant air or adrenaline rush.” Carlos explained. The car hummed quietly as they talk about the differences more.
“Okay, press the break and shift?” Carlo confirmed. He got a nod from his father and did so, shifting into drive. “Do I change the gears?” He asked, foot still on the break.
“Not today mi hijo, that’s for another day.” Carlos chuckled. The car started rolling forward slowly. Carlo hit the gas lightly and felt the speed pick up. He stayed at a comfortable 30kph. “See it isn’t hard, just need practice.” Carlos reassured.
They drive the track until sunset when Carlos deemed it too dark. Carlos drove them home for dinner. A familiar car in the parking garage. “Wait why is Lando here?” Carlo asked.
“He is?” Carlos asked before seeing the McLaren. “Ahh Vivi probably called him for something.” Sure enough Lando got a call from the girl about being scared for her brother. Lando was always welcome, hence why he stayed for dinner.
“How was it?” He questioned. He knew Carlos had been shitting his pants over this moment for years. He asked the question casually, although Carlos saw the mischief in his friends eyes.
“It was so cool.” Carlo said. Lando smiled along with Carlos. “It really isn’t that different to be honest.” He admitted.
“Clear track right Carlos?” His wife had a condescending tone. Carlos did inform her of their whereabouts and the plan he had. They stuck to the plan, knowing if they didn’t they were both getting scolded.
“Si, mi amor.” Carlos responded.
I felt it right for his son to be the third.
We don’t talk about how this was posted for 6 hours without me noticing the wrong suffix was used 🤫🤫

Nightfall (5)
Vampire! Billy Russo x Female Reader
Part 1// Part 2// Part 3// Part 4
Warnings: Smut, oral (f), orgasm denial, angst, brief mentions of torture and death.
A/N: Friendly reminder that if you want to see more of something you need to interact with it, and not in a detached way.
Shit, you were gonna beg him.
There was a twisting in your stomach, screaming for pleasure, quaking at the concept of his touch- of his fucking tongue.
You make an annoyed grunt, dropping your fork, hearing it clatter on the porcelain plate.
You press both hands to your face, trying to think about something else- anything else- other than him.
It doesn’t work, you try to think about escape, and the reminder of his teasing smile pops up in response.
Your hands move up, and into your hair, gripping it hard, trying to stop this burning, this heavy desire to submit to him, beg for him, come for him.
Him, him, him.
You pull on your hair harder when your mind jumps to thoughts of his cock, the way it looks as it’s slipping into you, filling every inch of you.
The reminder is so potent you almost cum from just the fucking memory.
This was it.
You were going to give in.
You stand, angry, turning to his room. He’d left you behind to have a shower while you ate breakfast, and you were going to get on your knees and beg for him the moment he stepped out.
A knock on the door stops you cold in your tracks.
You turn, wide eyed, staring at the door.
Another knock, calm and cool and perhaps a little impatient.
Do you open it? Definitely not.
You hear Billy call out to you from the bedroom.
“Can you get that for me?” he asks.
“Okay.” You murmur softly, knowing that he hears you.
You unlock the door cautiously, pulling it open.
The first thing you see is a broad chest. Tilting your head up, you find a handsome man staring back at you. His nose is slightly crooked, probably having been broken one too many times.
Instinctively, your training kicks in, you wait a few moments, eyes locked on him in a silent challenge. He doesn't breathe, his body perfectly still, making a quiet assessment of you as you do him.
“You the hunter?” He finally says, his voice deep, an air of danger wrapped around him.
“Maybe.” You finally say, taking a step back, widening the door to let him step in.
Behind him, is a very beautiful woman. She's got flowing brown hair, that makes you think of hot chocolate on a cold night.
She smiles at you, and you feel a soft shock go through your body at how stunning she really is.
She introduces herself as Maria, with a hand outstretched you reach to shake it, subtly pressing your fingers to her wrist, feeling a pulse.
You supply your own name, wondering if this was the paired couple Billy had told you about.
Billy walks in a second later, a towel on his shoulder, while he scrubs at his hair.
You blink, looking away for a second, remembering how just moments ago you were about to crawl begging to him.
Your ears hum, you realise there’s a silent conversation happening between the two supernaturals in the room. You press your teeth together, trying not to lash out at the rudeness before knowing anything.
Billy says your name, introducing his friend, Frank to you. You can’t help sizing him up.
You definitely could not take him in a fight.
There’s power to him, just like Billy, a charge in the air around him that warns you, he would not be messed with. Where Billy might toy with you playfully, he would exterminate you if you so much as moved in a way he didn’t like.
“I asked Maria to help you find some things for the event next week, and anything else you might want.” Billy explains smoothly looking at you.
You incline your head, looking at him. Petra, the vampire at the club, had told him of a date, time and place of an auction for vampires wanting to get high quality blood from humans.
You’d initially thought it would be similar to human trafficking, but Billy had informed you, that the method of gathering humans was something more coercive in nature.
If that many humans had actually gone missing, lots of people would notice, so instead, these organisations had found shady ways to force people into debt, just so that they would benefit from it.
Learning that, had made you wonder whether your organisation knew about it. You think if they did know, they wouldn’t stand idly by.
.
You'd been very surprised that Billy had intended for you to go with Maria alone. You'd stared at him in quiet disbelief when he'd said it, and he'd met your gaze evenly.
This had to be a test, no doubt he would be following you from afar or something waiting for you to try escaping.
But as you swipe through gauzy lingerie, the absence of feeling watched puzzles you.
Some of these pieces were really cute, you pause to examine a gauzy soft blue set covered in little hearts. You give it a frown, thinking that it wasn’t too bad.
Billy had handed you his credit card before you’d left, not even saying a word to you about it. You’d been debating the right way to use it- should you just buy as much stuff as you could? Or barely buy anything but the essentials?
In all honesty, you doubted he even cared. An immortal like him probably had more money than he knew what to do with.
Still, you stick to the essentials, your training demanding you pick functionality over anything you might really want.
When Maria watches you touch something gently for the fifth time, she finally speaks up about it.
“That’s cute.”
You blink, glancing at her before your eyes go back to the item in question- a sparkly red keychain in the shape of a heart. It would look nice with the tiny designer bag you’d been looking at earlier, one that was definitely not functional.
Shopping like this was unfamiliar to you, to desire something and be able to have it was definitely not an experience you’d had before.
“It’s a trinket.” You respond to her, moving on to look at something else.
“It might look pretty with that bag I saw earlier. The pink one.”
You make a hum of disinterest.
“How long have you and Frank been together?” You ask instead.
She tilts her head, turning away, and you acknowledge that your question might have come off rudely.
“Seventy years in November.” She answers, and you freeze, turning to study her with a look of confusion.
She doesn’t look up at you, examining a silk bra instead.
“How is that possible?” She couldn’t be older than thirty-two.
Maria’s gaze is kind as she finally looks at you, a little bit of amusement in the corners of her eyes.
“The bond prolongs my life.” She says, her eyes darting to study a woman walking by, “There are many things shared between us.”
“Like what?” You question, intrigued.
Maria smiles, turns back to look at you.
“That’s our secret, but it’s different for each bond anyway.”
You nod, turning away, a little miffed that you hadn’t gotten a straight answer from her.
“When did you find out… about him?”
“Um, maybe a few months into knowing each other? It did happen kind of fast. Frank had a… reputation… that sort of made me a target.”
You want to ask her what type of reputation, but you don’t think she'd be very forthcoming with the details. You assume it's related to whatever Billy’s involved in.
You study the silk robes, tracing your fingers over the soft material and sighing longingly.
“And… you don't have a problem with him being…”
“Different?” She finishes for you.
You hum in affirmation, trying not to argue with the word she chose. He wasn't just different, he was dangerous, deadly, bloodthirsty. It was like having a snake in bed beside you that could take you out at any given moment if you angered it just enough.
“I've seen throughout the years more humanity in him than in actual living people.”
Your first instinct is to disagree, yet there's a hope that spins inside of you, that maybe she was right.
You exhale, shaking your head, confused about what you wanted.
You put it out of your mind for now, deciding to focus on the mission at hand, and put your feelings aside the way you were trained to do.
It works up until you step through the doors of his apartment, and your eyes meet his.
Maria happily jumps into Frank’s arms, while Billy calmly approaches you.
You place some of your bags down, reaching into your back pocket for his credit card.
“Did you get everything you wanted?”
You nod, a swollen feeling in your throat as you extend the card to him.
He glances down at it, and then back at you.
“Keep it.” He murmurs, turning away.
You pause for a second, unsure of what to do, pocketing the card so that you can leave it on his nightstand or something.
“When is the rest coming?” Billy asks.
“The rest?” You question.
Maria looks over at Billy, having overheard the question.
“That's everything.” She says to him.
He pauses, turning to look at her. You watch the exchange, feeling very confused.
“That's it?”
Maria gives him a slow nod.
He pauses, before glancing at you. You get the feeling that you're missing something important, but you can't figure out what.
You glance away, pretending to study the microwave as if it’s just said something gravely important to you while you can feel his eyes on you.
“I appreciate your help, Frank, Maria.” Billy says, and in your peripherals, you see him approach them, patting Frank on the back, and leaning in to press a kiss to Maria’s temple.
It’s an amount of affection you weren’t expecting to see, and when Frank approaches you, you stiffen automatically.
He extends a hand, and though his gesture is friendly, his eyes are warning you not to make the wrong move.
You swallow, shaking his hand, returning his firm grip with one of your own, and then he slides right past you, allowing his arguably better half to bid you goodbye as well.
Maria is much warmer, despite the cold way you treated her today, and it makes you feel like a jerk, to have kept her at arm’s length.
“Goodbye.” You say softly, and she gives you a knowing smile, before she’s out the door.
You wait a beat, because you know Frank can probably still hear any words you decide to speak.
“I feel bad,” You finally say, “I wasn’t the nicest to her today.”
“Don’t worry,” Billy murmurs, “She understands.”
Your shoulders drop, in hopes that you would get another chance to be her friend, picking up your bags and taking them in the direction of the spare bedroom.
“No.” Billy says, his voice echoing clearly through the open room.
You stop in your tracks, rolling your eyes before adjusting your course for his room instead.
He follows behind, and stands at the doorway when you drop the bags in question onto the bed.
“Why didn’t you get more?” He asks, arms crossed studying you.
You glance up at him as you tug a short summer dress out of one bag, preparing to snip the tags off and make it more comfortable to wear.
“More what? I didn't need more.” You answer, feeling defensive all of a sudden.
“Do you have a scissors?”
“Bathroom. Top drawer. You told me you got everything you wanted. Was that true?”
“What-” You let out a frustrated breath, dropping the dress on the bed, “What does that mean?”
“I wanted you to buy anything you liked, but I get the feeling that you held back a lot.”
You walk to the attached en suite bathroom, grabbing the scissors from where he said it was.
“Because I didn't have more bags?” You pick up the dress, clipping the tags, and any extra labeling that would stick you.
“I was hoping, that you'd try to make this place more like home.”
Your breath stalls in your chest.
“Well it isn't. My home is a secluded base, with four walls and a cot that fits just me, and the water is freezing on mornings but that's better for you anyway. My bed is lumpy and old and sometimes smells like someone died on it but that’s because all the funding goes into medicine for us when we get injured. I’m not some kept woman, that you can just send out and treat nicely whenever it suits you. I’m a soldier.”
You turn away to avoid his gaze. It feels as though he can see right through you in this moment. As if you’ve been pried apart and all the things that make you tick have been exposed.
Carefully, you tug his credit card out of your pocket, placing it onto the nightstand as if it’s a bomb that is going to go off at any given moment.
“I was a soldier too.” Billy finally says.
You blink, reaching for the next dress in the bag to snip the tags off.
He comes around the bed, gripping your shoulders to turn you to him. You let the dark material fall to your feet as he grips your chin, raising your head to his.
“I was a killing machine long before I had fangs. I would have done anything to serve my cause. You know where that got me? These scars.”
You finally focus on his words, eager to soak in any ounce of himself that he’s willing to give.
“I was captured, tortured, dumped into a shallow grave and left for dead. I clawed my way out, crawled through the forest, bleeding and broken when I was found and changed. Turns out, they knew where I was the whole time and they just didn’t care. Wouldn’t even consider a rescue mission for me and other guys that were caught.”
He shakes his head.
“They don’t care about you. They never have. You’re just another body to them, useful until you’re not and then you’re replaceable.”
You already knew this.
“The cause-”
“-Fuck the cause!” He hisses, his teeth sharpening in anger, “Can’t you see that you matter more?”
You shake your head in denial. He cups your face with both hands, walking you back until you're pressed against his bedroom wall.
“Yes. Yes. Yes. I know you’ve never heard it before so I’ll say it to you now.” His eyes are dark, so human that you almost forget.
“You mean more to me than any fucking ideology. I would give everything up for you.”
“You don’t even know me.” You challenge.
He leans in, kissing you harshly, mouth tingling at the feeling of his lips on yours.
“I know enough.”
He kisses you again, and again, moaning into your mouth, drinking your breathy sighs eagerly.
You raise a hand, hanging onto his shoulder, letting yourself surrender to this feeling… a wholeness that you can’t fathom.
“You don't know anything about me, you filthy, fanged bloodsucker.” You grunt between kisses.
He laughs into your mouth, his hand fisting a handful of your hair.
“I know you like warm blankets, and you mumble in your sleep, and what your cunt tastes like, and how wet you get for me anytime you so much as look in my direction.”
You bite down on his bottom lip in retaliation and he groans.
He spins you, the front of your body against the wall now, cheek pressed to the cold concrete, your hands pulled behind your back and held there by his hand on your wrists.
“I know that you like to stop and smell the flowers on display anytime you walk past a flower shop, and that you'd go out of your way to step on a crunchy leaf.”
“You know that cause you're a fucking stalker.” You grunt, feeling him lean in, delight spreading through you when he licks across your cheek.
He tugs at your shirt, exposing your neck, he kisses over your bite scar gently, and you shudder as bliss moves right through you, forcing your toes to curl.
“You know why you like it when I kiss you here?” He emphasizes his words by pressing his lips softly to the silvery scar in question. Your eyes roll back in your head, drawing in a breath, desperately searching for sanity.
“It's where we first connected, where you first let yourself be vulnerable for me.”
You grunt, feeling anger and desire roll inside of you.
“And when were you ever vulnerable?” You shoot back, opening your eyes to peer back at him.
He releases your wrists and you turn to face him, a smug look of satisfaction on your face for having made a decent argument.
You're taken aback a little when he pulls his shirt off, tossing it onto the bed behind him.
“Here.” He reaches for your hand, pressing it to the center of his chest.
Your eyebrows draw together, moving your hand a little to study the spot right in the center of his chest. Sure enough, there's a silvery mark, just like yours, in the shape of a star.
Where you stabbed him, you realise, back in your other apartment, when you’d pressed the stake to his chest and he’d pulled you closer. That, was his first vulnerable moment with you.
You lean forward, wondering why you never noticed it until now, and it’s probably because you weren’t even looking, that all of his other scars, had done a good job at hiding this one.
You press your lips to it, you can feel the vibration of his long winded groan against your lips. For the first time, you not only feel like his, but he also feels like yours.
“You could have killed me then, and I might have died peacefully to escape the torment of wanting you.”
You reach up, pressing your hands to each side of his maddening face to pull him into a kiss, pressing your tongue into his mouth at the first moment you can.
Billy groans, picking you up easily, legs wrapped around his hips, walking you to the bed before he drops you into the middle, halfway on your bags.
He pulls your shirt up, and you let him, not wanting to be far from his mouth at all, the tips of your fingers tracing his scars as you feel your passion mirrored by him.
He kisses over your chest, gripping your wrists to pin them beside your head, before you know it, your hands are restrained by something else.
He’s used the scarf on the designer bag you’d bought to tie your wrists together above your head, the silk has no give, and he’s knotted the fabric so securely that there’s no hope of freeing yourself on your own.
Your jeans is unbuttoned next, tugged down your legs, and then he grips your delicate underwear with his teeth and tugs harshly until you hear it rip.
Thank god, you think, as he settles his body between your legs, his mouth leaving cool kisses on the inside of your thighs. You mewl, pressing your hips up, desperate to feel his magnificent tongue on you.
“God, you’re dripping.” He murmurs, almost too low for you to hear.
He’s careful, pressing his tongue to your clit, your breath catching in your throat as he moans against you.
You sigh his name, as he licks you, speeding up and slowing down to prolong the torment.
You can’t stop the little sounds, which only worsen when you feel him begin to slowly press a lone finger into you, the pace too slow and shallow to be of any real use.
A sob catches in your throat, trying to relax as best you could, unable to stop your hips from undulating against his fingers and tongue.
He guides another finger into you, and you shudder, desperate to feel the bliss he’s capable of, after not having him for so long.
“Don’t come.” He orders, lips wrapping around your clit, sucking gently, before he pauses to watch you.
“I can’t-” You cry, tears pooling in the corner of your eyes with the way it stings to deny yourself.
You can feel the mess you make, of yourself, approaching your high too slowly for your liking.
You gasp when he withdraws, body shaking as you watch him undo his belt, pushing his pants down to free his leaking cock.
He’s so thick, the reminder of what he can do with such a glorious appendage makes you clench with need.
He grips your thighs, pulling your body against his, and you gasp when he ruts his cock against your swollen bud.
“That’s it, baby, feel me.”
You nod eagerly as he lines himself up with your entrance.
You suck in a deep breath, and he smiles proudly down at you as he presses his cock in.
You’re quite loud, unintentionally so, and you maybe feel a little ashamed of sounding so desperate, but the very feeling of him pushing into you, filling you right up to the brim and holding himself there for a long, shaky moment, is enough to have you clenching around him, on the verge of orgasm.
Billy reaches for you, grips your jaw, giving you a proper shake to get your attention.
“Don’t.” He warns, his eyes are the colour of ruby gems, “Not tonight.”
You suck in a sharp breath. He wasn’t going to let you come tonight?!
You begin to wriggle in protest, he reaches down to pin your hips in place, sliding his cock out, to ease himself back in.
“You feel so good baby- fuck-” He leans in to press his mouth to yours, his tongue claiming you boldly.
“Suffer with me.” He begs against your mouth.
You’re not sure what he means, but you nod, forehead to forehead, his cock swollen and heavy inside of you, tears of want in your eyes and yet you nod like a fool when he tells you no.
You pant when he moves, barely able to control yourself, you breathe in his musky scent, letting everything about him overpower you.
He growls, delivering one harsh thrust that makes you cry out, holding himself there for long moments, making you wish he would just put you out of your misery.
You struggle, trying to tug your arms free, deciding instead to place your bound hands over his head, gripping his hair in your hands.
His hands tighten on your hips, the pain of his grip only adding to your pleasure.
He moves slowly, out of rhythm, keeping you balanced right on the edge of pleasure and torment.
When the denial is too much, you pull his hair hard, hearing him grunt out a laugh, understanding the message you’re trying to convey.
He withdraws slowly, and you swear the emptiness will destroy you.
You pant, looking up into his dark eyes, demanding an explanation.
He releases the hold on your hips, leaning in to kiss you softly.
He noses at your neck, and you tilt your head reflexively to give him the space he needs to feed from you.
You feel him shake his head against you, nose dragging softly.
“Please.” You whisper, wanting to feel his teeth pierce your skin.
His teeth settle on your neck, a low groan leaves him, before he bites.
He’s quick about it, your skin only starting to sting and throb when he’s two mouthfuls in.
He hums around a swallow, before withdrawing, pressing the fabric of his shirt into your wound.
“I can taste the frustration in your blood, poor thing.” He murmurs, lifting his shirt to lick at the open wounds.
“But god, you still taste so fucking good.”

hellloooo can u please do idol!coups x reader for sleep deprivation on cheol’s part with reader taking care of him xx
helloooo anonie, sure i can, thank you for requesting! 💜
prompt: sleep deprivation
you try not to hover. you try not to act like mother hen in fear of being annoying. you try but it's so god damn hard when seungcheol looks like a dead man standing. your boyfriend has always been a hard worker, that's one of the qualities you admire about him, but his work ethic is also your biggest worry. seungcheol is present but just barely - you are sure that he didn't hear majority of the things you said with his mind being very, very far from here, buried in new dance routines or lyrics that had to be finished. it's amazing to see how work energizes seungcheol and gives him purpose, but it's horrible to watch him crumble under pressure. slowly you reach out for his hand, giving it a light squeeze: 'cheollie, baby. you're with me?'
seungcheol blinks at your touch and it takes him few moments to sit up straighter on the seat and send you a fake smile. 'yeah, baby, sorry, i'm here. what did you say?'
god, you can't believe this man wanted to pick you up after your work. seungcheol can't be trusted with a car now, not when he can barely focus. 'i asked if yuo're sure that we should go out tonight. you look really tired, cheol.'
he stubbornly shakes his head. 'no-no, i'm good. i'm so caught up at work that we haven't seen each other much lately.'
you kind of want to strangle and kiss him at the same time. he is so good for trying to make time for you amidst his hectic workload but he is so bad for not taking care of himself properly - you sigh loudly. 'when did you sleep last time?' you ask straight to the point. thank god for traffic at this hour, so you can fully turn to your boyfriend without paying attention to the road. 'you look like a zombie, baby.' seungcheol purses his lips and you instantly understand what's the problem. 'cheollie... you can't fall asleep?'
seungcheol sags in the passenger seat, looking embarrassed and done with himself. 'yeah,' he admits quietly. 'i- it's so fucking stupid. i don't know, i'm trying everything but it's just not working.' he sighs and rubs his eyes tiredly. 'i don't think i actually slept properly in the last 4-5 days.'
this admission breaks your heart. seungcheol is running on fumes and yet despite it all, he still is here, with you, because he doesn't want you to feel neglected. without thinking you enter new address to the gps, knowing full well what can help him this time. 'instead of the restaurant, let's have a picnic,' you announce in an overly enthusiastic tone.
'at eight pm?' seungcheol asks, confused. 'i mean if that's what you want then i don't mind but-'
'that's exactly what i want.' you squeeze his hand, sending him a small smile. 'no worries, baby. we are very close.'
it doesn't happen often, but it did happen before. sleep deprivation is, unfortunately, a part of seungcheol's life as an idol and you learned hard way how to deal with it. familiar scenes of home or studio don't calm him mind down, but fresh air and water always help. you park the close as close you can to the river and roll down all windows, letting cool evening breeze in. 'alrighty,' you turn to him with a gentle smile and snatch small blanket from the backseat. 'you take this and get comfortable. i'll order us some food.'
seungcheol grabs the blanket, frowning. 'what is happening?'
'we are having a picnic in the car,' you explain, opening food delivery app. 'and you are sleeping until the food arrives, getting much needed rest.' seungcheol opens his mouth to protest and you cut him off: 'this is a date. this is our date that i want to have.'
the thing is, you don't really care about specifics of date as long as seungcheol is close. he doesn't look convinced at first, but when you start talking about your date with a quiet music on the background, he relaxes. it doesn't take him long to fall asleep - adjusted seat, warm blanket, fresh air and your hand in his do their magic. you watch quietly as his breathing slows; in sleep seungcheol doesn't look as tired. still holding his hand you adjust your own seat and lower the radio volume. seungcheol going out of his way to be with you makes you want to do the same; and if date is about you letting him finally sleep and guarding his sleep then you're not complaining, not at all.
a/n: writing this made me so soft :') pls give cheollie all the hugs and sleep he deserves!! - nini

I love your kang family series. Can I request a story of reader being in labor and Daeho being her rock thru it all and maybe even have some bits about how great he is helping her once they arrive home with a newborn. I live for domestic daeho - I love your writing!! If you don’t want to write this, that’s totally cool too lol
I wrote it :D I love this concept <3
seoah's and byeol's birth headcannons:
kang dae ho x f!reader for the kang family series
seo-ah was born exactly four months after the nightmare of the games ended.
you and dae-ho had been trying to put yourselves back together, trying to find normalcy in a world that no longer felt as stable as it once did.
your daughter is your light, the one thing that reminded you both that there was something good waiting for you on the other side of survival.
labor was terrifying, but not because of the pain though.
you had endured worse.
it was because you had never felt so vulnerable before.
this was different from fighting for your life.
this was bringing a new life into the world, one that you and dae-ho were responsible for protecting.
dae-ho was your rock through every contraction, every wave of pain that crashed through you.
he held your hand so tightly, whispering reassurances in your ear.
“you’re so strong, baby. you’ve been through so much, and you’re still here. you can do this. i know you can.”
he refused to leave your side. even when the nurses suggested he take a break, get some food, stretch his legs...he wouldn’t hear it.
“she’s doing all the work. i can sit here.”
the fear was there, though.
not of the labor, but of the world outside this hospital.
you and dae-ho had survived something most people could never comprehend.
now, you were bringing your daughter into this world.
one that had already shown you its cruelest side.
would she be safe? would she ever have to suffer the way you did?
then, the moment she was born, all of that fear melted away.
the second she let out her first cry, the second her tiny body was placed on your chest, it was like nothing else mattered.
she was real. she was yours. she was safe.
dae-ho cried.
he tried to hold it back, but when he saw her, so small, so perfect, his whole body trembled with emotion.
he kissed your forehead repeatedly, his voice breaking as he whispered,
“you did it. you did so good. she’s beautiful. she’s ours.”
he counted all of her little fingers and toes like they might disappear if he didn’t memorize them right then and there.
when you were too exhausted to hold her, he took over immediately, cradling her with the softest look in his eyes.
“hey, baby girl,”
he murmured, his voice thick with love.
“i’m your appa.”
he never put her down.
the nurses had to tell him to rest, but he just sat in the chair beside your hospital bed, watching over both of you, like he was afraid that if he blinked too long, this would all disappear.
once you were discharged, the reality of being home with a newborn hit hard.
neither of you had slept properly in days, and yet, dae-ho never complained. not once.
he handled the diaper changes when your body was too sore to move, holding seo-ah carefully like she was made of glass.
he rocked her in his arms when she was fussy, pacing the bedroom in slow steps, humming softly to soothe her.
“i got her, baby,”
he whispered when you stirred in the middle of the night, hearing the soft cries of your newborn.
“go back to sleep. you need rest too.”
you never wanted to sleep, not really.
you just wanted to watch them, watch your husband, the man who had been through hell and back, holding your daughter with so much love, so much devotion.
the games had hardened you both, made you see the world in a different way.
when you looked at seo-ah, she was proof that there was still softness left.
dae-ho told her stories while she lay in his arms, even though she was too young to understand.
“your eomma is the bravest person i know,”
he’d whisper against her tiny head.
“she saved us both. you have no idea how lucky you are to have her.”
he took pictures of you with seo-ah whenever he could, knowing you’d be too tired to think about it yourself.
“i don’t want you to forget these moments,”
he said when you caught him doing it for the tenth time.
he made sure you ate, made sure you had water, made sure you took your pain meds when you needed them. he took care of you while taking care of seo-ah.
he never let you feel like you were alone.
in the hardest moments, when the exhaustion was too much, when the fear of being a good mother weighed heavily on your shoulders, he was there.
byeol:
your pregnancy with byeol was a completely different experience from your pregnancy with seo-ah.
with seo-ah, you had been five months pregnant while fighting for your life, every day filled with stress, fear, and the uncertainty of whether you’d even make it out alive on that island.
this time, you were safe.
you were home.
you had everything you needed, and most importantly, you had dae-ho right there beside you through it all.
this pregnancy felt like a reward.
a chance to experience it the way you were supposed to.
no survival games, no debts, no trauma weighing down every thought.
just you, your growing baby, and your beautiful family.
since it was your second pregnancy, things were so much easier.
you knew what to expect, how to handle the morning sickness, the weird cravings, the exhaustion.
you weren’t as anxious this time, because you had already done it once before.
“you’re glowing,”
dae-ho would say at least five times a day, his hands resting gently on your belly, his lips pressing kisses to your forehead.
“i mean, you’re always beautiful, but pregnancy looks really good on you.”
“you just like that i get all round and soft,”
you teased, nudging him.
“i like you,”
he grinned, kissing you again.
the one major difference this time?
you had a toddler to take care of too.
seo-ah was only three when you got pregnant with byeol, which meant you and dae-ho had to balance raising a little ball of energy while preparing for a newborn.
dae-ho, being the incredible husband and father that he was, stepped up in every way possible.
“baby, sit down,”
he would tell you whenever you tried to do anything remotely tiring.
“you’re growing a whole human, let me handle it.”
he overcompensates on this pregnancy, since he felt terrible that he couldn't help you when you were pregnant during the games.
however, he would never say this out loud.
he cooked more, cleaned more, made sure seo-ah was entertained so you could rest.
he even started taking seo-ah out on little father-daughter dates just to give you some peace and quiet when you needed it.
there were times where seo-ah was obsessed with your growing belly.
dae-ho melted every time he saw seo-ah talk or gush about your belly.
“she’s going to be the best big sister,”
he whispered one night, his hand resting on top of yours as you both watched her fall asleep curled up beside you.
this pregnancy gave you a level of peace you never thought you’d have after everything you had been through.
nine months after conceiving, labor was still painful(obviously), but it wasn’t terrifying like it had been with seo-ah.
there was no underlying developing trauma this time, no lingering fear of the outside world.
dae-ho was there, holding your hand just like he had before, whispering words of encouragement, rubbing your back through every contraction.
“you’re amazing,”
he told you between kisses to your damp forehead.
“you’re so strong, baby. just a little more, you’re almost there.”
at last, byeol was born.
she was placed on your chest, and the second you looked at her, your heart stopped.
she was you.
your nose, your lips, your cheeks.
everything about her was like looking into a smaller version of yourself.
“well,”
dae-ho chuckled, his voice thick with emotion as he gazed down at her.
“guess i lost this one, huh?”
you laughed breathlessly, tears filling your eyes as you pressed your lips to byeol’s soft little head.
“she’s perfect.”
“she’s you,”
he corrected, stroking her tiny hand with his thumb.
“and that means she’s definitely perfect.”
seo-ah was beyond excited to meet her baby sister.
“she’s so small,”
she gasped when she first saw her, her big brown eyes wide with awe.
“you were this small once too, baby,”
dae-ho told her, helping her climb onto the couch to sit beside you.
“no way,”
she whispered dramatically.
daeho handled the nighttime feeds when you were too tired to move, he made sure seo-ah still felt just as loved even with a newborn in the house, and he took care of you.
“you just gave birth, baby,”
he would remind you whenever you tried to do too much.
“sit down. let me take care of things.”
he would press kisses to your temple as he held byeol against his chest, rocking her gently.
“honestly, I think i’m the luckiest man alive,”
he would say out of nowhere, watching you nurse byeol while seo-ah played with her toys.
“oh yeah?”
you smiled, exhausted but happy.
“yeah,”
he nodded.
“two beautiful daughters. the best wife in the world. i don’t need anything else.”
he is right. neither of you did.

They see a slumped, defeated looking Owen and a pensive Simon on one of the tables.
“Now that’s not the mood for a fancy train ride. Cheer up, strange creatures!”
“No can do, for the future only brings ruin. Forked paths. Uncertain fate. Such an herculean feat of Atlas proportions”
“What”
“We’re thinking”
“Are you?”
“They’re bummed out because they have to choose a career for university”
“WHA- WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?”
“Around”
“Is that what’s worrying you? Career prospects?”
“It’s more than that! I took a year off to ~find myself~ but uh. I mostly played videogames and got a cool haircut”
“And now I have to actually do the damn thing, and I still haven’t found out what I want to do!”
“It’s alright Owen, the university life is not for everyone.”
“No no, I know that! But I need to know what is it that I want to do for the rest of my life!”
“That does sound like a Herculean feat of Atlas proportions”
“Well, what is it that you like to do?”
“Uh. Listen to Medieval versions of popular music?”
“…As like. A hobbie”
“Don’t worry, a lot of people don’t end up working as the thing they studied. I was a security guard for a good while!”
“Security! That’s it!”
“A security expert? That’s a noble job”
“I’LL BECOME THE NEXT DOMINION!”
“The guy is nowhere to be found, and people found he sold all the stuff he stole so he must be loaded, right?”
“And! I get to have a cool costume!”
“You think it’s cool…?”
("He thinks it's cool?!")
“Owen that’s how you get in jail. And at least a few broken bones. A person needs to be borderline crazy to believe they can pull off the stuff Dominion did”
“Because he was like no other, truly. Amazing, mysterious, charming…”
“A complete lunatic”
“less than three”
“wh- Did you say the heart emoji out loud?”
“Well, if I can’t be Twominion then what do you think I should be, Mr. B- Oliver Beebo?”
Hmm… Something that Owen would enjoy…
“I think you’d do it well”
“Well, that does sound fun, but uh, isn’t that a bit… low on employment?”
“That is true, but. Does it really matter for your type?”
“My type?”
“Rich people."
"You have connections. Your parents have connections. No matter how low-end a career path might be, you’ll get to do anything because of your family’s name”
“Ollie, you’re not wrong but I don’t think that’s what the kid wants to hear right now…”
“Why not? It means he’s free to do whatever he wants. Look at Nadia”
“Oliver…”
“She’s studying film. In a country with barely any movie productions. Less so known ones aside from some closed circles. On a private University.”
“Yet she’ll be able to do all the movies she wants and be successful because the Margulis name is strong”
“…Excuse you. Are you implying I’m not able to be successful on my own?”
“Ah, you certainly have talent Nadia, I wouldn’t say anything against that”
“But that talent can be found in millions of people. People who might be even more talented. But we’ll never know because they won’t be able to reach the place it has been given to you on talent alone”
“You will. Because you have money. Because you were born with money.”
“…You-“
“SIMON! HAHA WHAT ABOUT YOU SIMON? HUH? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO STUDY HAHA”
“C’mon Beeb, only I’m allowed to fight the child”
(“Fight?")
Simon thinks for a second
“…Marine Biology”
“Although mom always gets weird when I say it. I think she might hate fishes”
“Bu- But you are good at cooking yeah? Didn’t you love cooking?”
“I am good at it but… The cooking scene isn’t very nice…”
“And I refuse to cook Lobster! It’s terrible and cruel!”
“Well, what if you become a vet! And specialize in fish! Or become the owner of an aquarium!”
“That just seems like a roundabout way to get to marine biology”
“You could have your own restaurant! Fish free!”
“I think it’s fine."
"If you like it and you think you can make it, then go ahead. Biology is hard though, think about that”
“I’m pretty good at it”
He seems relieved.
While he can’t speak for the others, his blonde roots and white shirt made his eyes look… almost green.
Eugene never got to study what he loved. He’ll make sure Simon does.

Uhm hi your au is cool and I love the Sentinel and TFP Optimus potential so have this thank you have a good day:
“I don’t understand…”
“You don’t have to do so immediately, it’s not easy to have everything you thought you once knew uprooted.”
“No that’s not- I-“ Sentinel hissed, stepping back from the larger mech. He wants to scream, to shout, to deny everything but he knows that it won’t work on this Optimus. How can he be so different than the bridge repair bot he knew? How can he, a warframe no less be so endlessly patient and kind and why does he found himself feeling so safe around him?! The safest he had ever felt no less! It made no sense, it shouldn’t make sense at all.
“I wanted to deny this.” The blue prime said, his voice box wobbly with an emotion he can’t safely identify. “I want to not understand this but if I do, I would feel like I’m going insane and I know that you wouldn’t stop being so patient regardless.”
The elite guard had searched for any deceit, any form of trickery that would cause him to distrust this warframe but there was nothing. His patience, his understanding, his kindness; it was just who this Optimus was. And everything just shattered when Sentinel came to that horrible realisation.
He sees this Optimus extend his arm out and Sentinel wants to slap it away, to be afraid and yet.. He found himself reaching out to hold his servo, squeezing it tightly. Optimus- Orion as he had called himself to differentiate between him and the repair bot Optimus made no move to pull him in. Sentinel knew that it was because that was who he is and it still terrifies him.
“I want to hate you..” He admits, burying the spike of guilt deep down from his spark. “I wanted to hate you so much but I just- can’t. Why are you so kind? You kept glaring at me when we first met and now you’re- you’ve just come in and made me question everything I thought I knew!…”
“That was due to previous experiences on my part from a mech who shares your designation.” Orion explains sincerely. “Because of that, I initially was wary of you and it clouded my judgement, for that I apologise. But as I learned more about this world, the Cybertron you live in and the system that you grew up with, I’ve began to view things with a fresh look, and that includes you.”
Sentinel chooses not to pry deeper into what Orion said, partly due to being emotionally unstable as he is and partly in fear of what he would learn if he asked. All he could do is stare down at the ground as words kept tumbling out from deep in his processor and spark. “E-everything I thought I knew is just.. I don’t want to even doubt it, the system has been everything to me.. all it’s rules… But then you- you just crash down here, disproving everything I thought I knew and now—!”
Sentinel looks up to shout at the larger bot but seeing his kind optics and sad smile made all the fury die out from his voice box. He released his servo as though it was hot metal and curls up on the ground, shaking. Internally he berates himself for showing such a pathetic display considering his position but Orion said nothing or voice any judgements. He could feel the other mech sit down beside him, close enough to reach out if needed and far enough to not step into his personal space.
“As easier as it would be, the world is not so clear cut.” Orion said, his voice holding a wisdom only gained through many stellar cycles. It held the same type of heaviness Ultra Magnus have but it doesn’t feel as old or historic as him. “Sometimes evil comes from good intentions, sometimes what seems good ends up being malicious and harmful. This system you grew up in and had been drilled into you for so long, is one of the latter. I’m so sorry.”
Despite everything, Sentinel finds himself nodding numbly to his words. He wanted to forget all this ever happened, return back to the safe structure of following protocols and living as he had before meeting Orion but too many things have been thrown into question, rules that once seem like facts have now been broken, doubt has been cast in and can never be uprooted thanks to Orion and now—
“I don’t want to think about this anymore…” Sentinel admits, exhaustion finally seeping into his processor, having enough of everything. He found himself with his walls taken down without his say, something he was still very much horrified of it. Still, in spite of that, he lets Orion gently take him into a sideways embrace. It felt warm, comforting and when all the fear and conflict were shoved away due mental fatigue, Sentinel briefly wondered when was the last time he felt so safe and allowed himself to be this open. At the very least, when everything has been flipped over and shattered, Orion remained consistent and that’s something he’s thankful about, even if he doesn’t realise it at this point in time.
As Sentinel slowly falls into recharge, Orion can’t help but gently carry the mech in his arms, shielding him from any potential onlookers. Sentinel is a proud autobot who doesn’t like showing weakness and has made many foolish choices in the past but underneath it all was a young mech, traumatised, insecure and afraid. Yet Orion can’t help but be proud of him for at least not throwing everything he realised away and opening up to how it troubles him. It spoke of his true character and the trust he had in him, trust that Orion swore to never misuse. It will be difficult for Sentinel from here on out, there is a long road ahead full of turns and obstacles and right now, he’s trapped in a storm of confusion and conflict, misdirection and denial. But he will be there to guide him and be a pillar of support when needed. He won’t let him or anyone else walk the path alone.

dallas x reader where reader is sick and dallas takes care of them ‼️ i love your writing sm your my favorite writer
𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐤 [𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫]
a/n: sorry for not posting y'all. im back tho !!
The room felt too hot and stuffy, despite the open window just beside your bed and the breeze coming in cool from outside, the curtains swaying gently from side to side. Your cover had been kicked to the floor after much battle, and despite the oppressive heat that washed over you whenever you wrapped it around you, without it you were trembling with cold, your whole body prickling with goosebumps.
You had been drifting in and out of sleep all morning, and despite your parents' protests, you'd convinced them to go to work and that you'd be fine. Your nose was stuffy, your throat raw and burning, your limbs heavy as lead. You felt miserable; there was no other way to put it. You felt down right miserable.
You were so exhausted that you weren't even aware of the boy climbing in through your window, not until he landed on the floor with a soft thump followed by a resounding groan. It took a lot of effort to lift your head, to force your eyes open, and for a few seconds, his face was blurred and unfocused.
“Dal?” You mumbled, voice barely audible, scratchy and dry.
“Man, you look rough, doll.”
You felt your whole body sag in relief, all the pain melting away for a second as he stepped towards you, hovering by the edge of your bed uncomfortably. He wasn’t good at this sort of thing: taking care of people when they needed it most. It just wasn’t his forte, but to see you like this, clearly suffering, it created a strange mix of emotion within him.
“Thanks…” You rasped, letting your head fall back against the pillow, and he merelyhummed in response, pressing the back of his hand to your clammy forehead.
“No problem,” he smirked, watching you for a few seconds. “D’you want anything?” The offer was sweet in a way that was so uniquely him, spoken in a way that, to anyone who didn’t know him, would come across as blunt and heartless… But to you, you knew he cared and that he wanted to help you.
You shake your head, swallowing thickly and forcing your eyes open once more. Your vision was hazy, swimming with nausea. “Just you.”
Dallas scoffs quietly, chuckling to himself, but he kicks off his shoes nonetheless, shrugging off his jacket and throwing it over the back of your chair. “You know, you should have called if you felt this bad.”
You fix him with a pointed look, though it is weak and pitiful. “I did call. You didn’t pick up.”
“Oh, well…” You watched with a semi-amused expression as he struggles to say something that wasn’t an apology. “I’m a busy guy.”
That earns a small, chesty laugh from you, the action drawing a pitiful little cough from you, and you settle into his side with a tired huff. struggled
“Sure…” You sniffle lightly, closing your eyes and letting your body melt. “I hate feeling sick…”
Dallas hums in a way that sounds almost sincere for him, rubbing your back gently; you’re surprised he’s here, surprised he knew something was wrong. “Yeah. I know. Ain’t nobody like bein’ sick.”
He presses a kiss to the side of your neck, tender and lingering, and you gasp dramatically, pulling away so quick that your head spins.
"Dal! I've got germs, remember!"
He only rolls his eyes in response, giving you a weird look. "what? On your neck? Ain't like I'm kissing ya properly."
"So? You can still catch whatever this is!" You sound almost exaspered, like a tired mother, your voice hoarse and grating, the mere act of talking making your throat burn like hell.
"Calm down, doll. I'm already sick." And with that he gets comfortable, laying down next to you and reaching for the blanket thrown haphazardly over your legs, cocooning yourself inside its warmth.
You frown, confusion washing over you. "What? You're sick?"
"Yeah." He drawls, tracing patterns against your skin. "Love sick."

Fire & Desire - Matt Sturniolo Part 19

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10 Part 11 Part 12 Part 13 Part 14 Part 15 Part 16 Part 17 Part 18 Part 19 Part 20
Pairing: Y/n x Matt Sturniolo
Summary: Y/n has always clashed with Matt. Despite working for Chris’s clothing brand and being close with Nick, her relationship with Matt has always been tense at best. While being forced to be around each other more, their animosity turns into something deeper. Can they overcome their differences, or will their fiery emotions tear them apart?
Warnings: mentions of drinking, tension, suggestive
Nick and Nate stumble toward us, their faces lit up with amusement, the unmistakable buzz of alcohol obvious by their faces. Their energy is loud, unfiltered, and completely opposite to the quiet, intimate vibe Matt and I had been enjoying just moments ago.
"Look who we have here!" Nick announces, swaying slightly as he points between the two of us. His tone is teasing, like he's caught us in the middle of something.
I glance behind them, noticing Chris is nowhere to be seen. "Where’s Chris?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
Nate lets out a laugh. "Dude got a FaceTime call and then just decided to dip. Didn’t even say a real goodbye, just up and left."
Matt and I share a similar look.
"Old people behavior."
We both burst into laughter at how effortlessly it came out of both of us, but the second I meet Nick and Nate’s eyes again, I realise our little moment wasn’t so subtle. They’re both looking at us with suspicion, eyes narrowing as they exchange a glance of their own.
"Okay" Nick says, crossing his arms over his chest. "What is going on with you two? How was your night?"
I freeze slightly, feeling the weight of their gazes. I can tell they’re waiting for us to slip up, for one of us to give something away, and I don’t trust myself to answer without letting something show.
I bring my cocktail to my lips, taking a slow sip to buy time, but before I can come up with something casual, Matt steps in smoothly.
"Good, we were hungry so got some pizza and now a cocktail” Matt gestures to his near empty glass. “Nate, you wanna come the bar with me? I need another drink" he says, the ease in his voice almost too perfect.
Nate pauses, his eyes flicking between us for another second, before he shrugs. "Yeah, sure. Why not?"
As they turn toward the bar, Matt throws me a quick reassuring glance. He knows Nick is going to grill me, and he’s giving me a chance to handle it before they come back.
I sigh and tilt my head toward the outdoor seating. "Come on, Nick. Let’s go find a bigger table before they get back."
Nick follows, but I can feel his stare burning into the side of my face.
"As we weave through the crowd to find an open table, I can still feel Nick’s eyes on me, sharp and calculating. The second we sit down, he doesn’t even try to play it cool.
"Alright" he says, leaning forward, elbows on the table. "Do you have feelings for Matt?"
I choke on my cocktail, barely managing to swallow before shooting him a glare. "Jesus, Nick. Being subtle really isn’t your thing, huh?"
He smirks, clearly enjoying how flustered I am. "Nope. So? Do you?"
I stare at him for a second, debating whether I should keep playing it cool. But honestly? I’m tired. Tired of pretending, tired of acting like there’s nothing there when the weight of it has been pressing down on me for so long.
I exhale, setting my drink down. "Yeah" I admit, my voice quieter than I expected. "I do."
Nick blinks, like he wasn’t actually expecting me to say it out loud. "Wait- seriously?"
I nod, suddenly feeling like a huge weight is off my chest.
Nick doesn’t say anything for a moment. He just studies me, processing everything. Then, to my surprise, he huffs out a laugh. "You know, I always kinda suspected there was something there. You two have been dancing around it for so long, it was only a matter of time before one of you snapped."
I groan, covering my face with my hands. "Is it that obvious?"
Nick grins. "Not to everyone. But to me? Yeah. And definitely to Nate, too. You should’ve seen the way he was looking at you two earlier."
I peek through my fingers. "Shit..Nate has actually said it to me before."
Nick chuckles, shaking his head. "So what now? Are you guys.. together?"
I hesitate, chewing on my lip. "I don’t know" I admit. "I mean.. we kissed.. but it’s not like we’ve talked about what it means."
Nick raises a brow. "And you’re okay with that?"
I pause, really thinking about it. "I think I just.. want to see where it goes. I don’t want to overthink it."
Nick leans back, nodding. "Fair enough. Just-" He points at me. "If he screws with you, I’m kicking his ass. I don’t care if he’s my brother."
I snort, rolling my eyes. "Noted."
Before he can say anything else, I spot Matt and Nate heading back toward us, fresh drinks in hand.
"Alright" Nick says, lowering his voice as they get closer. "Your secret’s safe with me.. for now."
I shoot him a grateful look before turning my attention to Matt. And when our eyes meet, something in my chest tightens.
Yes. I do have feelings for him. And there’s no point denying it anymore.
Matt sets the drinks down on the table and slides into the seat next to me, his arm casually draped over the back of my chair. He takes a sip of his cocktail before looking at Nick and Nate.
"So, how was your night?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
Nate snickers immediately, nudging Nick. "Oh, you mean aside from Nick pulling?"
I blink, turning to Nick so fast I nearly give myself whiplash. "Excuse me?"
Nick just shrugs, way too nonchalant for my liking. "What?"
"You kept that quiet!" I say, narrowing my eyes at him.
Nick leans back in his chair, taking a slow sip of his drink like he hasn’t just been exposed. "I keep my cards close to my chest" he says, smirking.
I groan, laughing at him. "I actually hate you"
Nick just grins, clearly enjoying this way too much.
Matt, who has been watching all of this with an amused expression, finally cuts in. "Hold on, hold on, so Nick got a guy’s number and just wasn’t gonna tell us?"
Nate nods, grinning. "Yup.The guy just walked over, chatted a bit, asked for his number as if it was nothing."
I shake my head at Nick. "Unbelievable."
Nick just shrugs again. "Maybe I wanted to keep things private. Ever think of that?"
I give him a narrow eyed look, almost to telepathically say "Oh, so you get to be private, but you get to interrogate me about Matt?"
Nick doesn’t even try to hide his smug expression. "Love you too, Y/n."
Matt leans back in his chair, stretching his arms behind his head as he glances at me. "You know” he starts, tapping his fingers lightly against the side of his drink, "we haven’t really had a proper beach day since we got here."
I tilt my head at him, knowing I had only mentioned it to him earlier.
“What do you mean? We’ve been to the beach loads of times." Nick says.
"Yeah" he nods, "but not when Y/n’s been here. Not just a full day of sun, sand, and doing absolutely nothing."
Nate leans forward, intrigued. "Are you trying to sell us on the idea of a lazy beach day?"
Matt shrugs, his eyes still on me. "I just think Y/n should experience it properly at least once before we leave. No chaos, no interruptions, just..enjoying it."
Something about the way he says it makes my stomach flip, the idea of spending a whole day with nothing to do but be with him settling into my mind.
I smile at him, nudging his knee under the table. "Alright. You’ve convinced me."
Matt grins, satisfied. "Good. It’s settled then. Beach day tomorrow."
Nick raises his glass. "To doing absolutely nothing productive tomorrow."
We all clink our drinks together, and I can’t help but look over at Matt, the way he’s already watching me with that smile.
Tomorrow’s going to be a good day.
After finishing our cocktails, we fell into conversation for a bit. Although the strip is still alive with laughter and music, the idea of heading back to the villa sounds more appealing now.
"Alright, shall we head back?" Matt asks.
Nick and Nate nod in agreement, both still riding the buzz from their night out. "Yeah, I think we’ve done enough damage here" Nick laughs, shoving his hands into his pockets. "I need my bed."
We stand to leave and Matt throws an arm around my shoulders as we start walking. The four of us move through the strip, dodging groups of tourists and late night partiers, the warm breeze carrying the scent of salty food from the vendors still open.
"You excited for tomorrow?" Matt asks, keeping his voice low just for me.
I glance up at him, feeling the emotions of the night settle in my chest in the best way. "Yeah" I admit. "I think I really am."
His fingers brush against my arm before he lets them fall back to his side. "Good."
We eventually reach the villa, Nick and Nate disappear to their rooms, already half asleep on their feet, but Matt and I pause for a moment in the hallway, neither of us quite ready to part ways just yet.
"Well" I breathe, stretching my arms above my head. "Guess I should sleep if we’re making a whole day out of tomorrow."
Matt leans against the wall, watching me with that same unreadable look I’ve started to recognize. like he wants to say something, like he’s thinking too much. But instead, he just nods. "Yeah. Get some rest."
There’s a moment, just a flicker of hesitation, but then I smile at him, a quiet promise in the way my eyes meet his. "Goodnight, Matt."
He exhales, like he was holding something in. "Goodnight, Y/n."
And then, finally, I slip into my room, shutting the door behind me. My heart is still racing, but it’s not from nerves, it’s from something else entirely. Butterflies.
I stand in front of the mirror, slowly wiping away my makeup with a cotton pad. My mind is a blur, replaying the way Matt had looked at me, the way his voice had wrapped around my name like it meant something more.
I sigh, dropping the used pad into the bin and reaching for my moisturizer when there's a knock at my door.
I pause, my heart stuttering in my chest.
Slowly, I walk over to the door but before I could pull it open, Matt walks in, his hair slightly tousled like he ran a hand through it a hundred times before knocking. His expression is unreadable for a second, but then his lips pull into a small, loving smile.
“I, uh..” He exhales through his nose, shaking his head like he’s annoyed with himself. “I couldn’t let you go to sleep without this.”
And before I can even process what ‘this’ is, he steps forward, his hand gently cradling my jaw as his lips press against mine.
It’s soft but carries intent, like he’s been holding onto this moment all night. My breath catches as I melt into it, my hands instinctively finding their way to his chest like something I could sink into forever.
It lasts only a few seconds, but it leaves a spark running through me, setting my skin on fire. When he pulls away, his thumb brushes against my cheekbone, his forehead lingering against mine for just a moment longer.
“Sweet dreams” he murmurs, his voice softer than I’ve ever heard it.
I barely manage a whisper, my lips still tingling. “You too.”
And just like that, he’s gone, leaving me standing in my doorway, my heart hammering against my ribs, my entire body buzzing.
I can't wait for tomorrow.
The next morning, I wake up naturally, the sunlight filtering in through the thin curtains. There's an excitement in me that I can’t quite shake. I stretch lazily before glancing at my phone, it's still early, too early for anyone else to be up. But I don’t mind. If anything, I love the quiet, the peaceful anticipation of the day ahead.
I slip out of bed, the cool tiles meeting my bare feet as I wander downstairs into the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water. It seems like I’m the first one up.
A small smile tugs at my lips thinking about today. Beach day.
Feeling restless, I make my way outside onto the patio, but something catches my eye through the glass doors leading to the patio. Movement.
Curious, I walk over quietly, pushing the door open to step out onto the deck next to the pool. That’s when I see him.
Matt is already up, standing by the small outdoor table, his back to me as he arranges something on the surface. A tray sits there, holding two plates, fresh fruit, toast, and what smells like coffee.
Breakfast for two.
I blink, taking in the scene, my chest tightening in a way that feels both overwhelming and sweet. His hair is still a little messy, like he’d just rolled out of bed, but he’s already dressed in shorts and a loose t-shirt, barefoot, moving around casually as he preps everything.
He hasn’t noticed me yet, so I take a second to just watch him. The fact that he did this, that he got up early, set this up for just us, makes my heart do something stupid in my chest.
After a moment, I clear my throat, and Matt turns, his brows lifting slightly before a slow smile spreads across his lips.
“Morning” he says, voice still thick with sleep.
I glance at the table, then back at him, my lips tugging upward. “Didn’t stick you for the breakfast in the early morning type.”
He shrugs, rubbing the back of his neck, almost sheepish. “Figured you’d be up early, excited about the beach.” His eyes flicker to mine, a little softer now. “Thought I’d surprise you.”
My stomach flips.
I step closer, glancing down at the plates before meeting his gaze again. “Well, consider me surprised!”
Matt pulls out a chair, gesturing for me to sit, and I do, watching as he takes the seat across from me. The morning sun rising higher, the pool water glistening, the palm trees swaying gently in the breeze. It feels intimate, peaceful.
“Thanks for this” I say after a beat, picking up my fork. “Really.”
Matt just grins, reaching for his coffee. “Anything for you.”
As we eat, the conversation flows easily, a mix of light teasing and comfortable silence. Matt asks me what I’m most excited about for today, and I tell him everything, the sand, the sun, the sounds of the ocean.
At some point, he reaches over and steals a piece of fruit off my plate, smirking as I gasp dramatically. “You have your own, Matthew” I scold, though there’s no real heat behind it.
“Yeah, but yours just looks better” he quips, popping the piece of mango into his mouth.
Before I can retaliate, the sound of footsteps shuffling from inside catches our attention. A moment later, the patio door slides open, and the peace of the morning is replaced by the familiar chaos of everyone else waking up.
Nick is the first out, stretching his arms over his head with a yawn. “Look at you two, up and at it like a married couple” he teases, eyeing the spread on the table. “Where’s my breakfast, huh?”
I roll my eyes, while Matt just smirks. “You were sleeping like the dead, figured you wouldn’t be up anytime soon.”
Chris and Nate follow shortly after, both looking groggy but intrigued by the food. Nate sniffs the air dramatically. “Damn, y’all didn’t think to make this a group thing?”
Matt leans back in his chair, stretching lazily. “Early bird gets the breakfast.”
Nick scoffs. “Yeah, well, early bird is gonna have to share.” He plucks a piece of toast off Matt’s plate before flopping into the seat beside me.
I glance at Matt, who meets my eyes with an amused look, before shaking my head and laughing. Just like that, the quiet moment is gone, replaced by the usual banter and noise of everyone together. But I don’t mind, we still have the whole day ahead of us.
After breakfast, everyone scatters to get ready for the beach. I head to my room, digging through my suitcase for the bikini I packed specifically for a day like this. It takes me a minute to decide, but I finally settle on a black two piece, simple but flattering. I throw on a light, flowy cover up over it and slide into my sandals before grabbing my tote bag, stuffing it with suncream, a towel, and a pair of sunglasses.
When I step out into the living room, Matt is already there, wearing swim trunks and a white linen shirt that’s unbuttoned, exposing just enough of his toned stomach to make me momentarily forget what I was supposed to be doing. He smirks when he notices me looking.
“You ready?” he asks, tossing a bottle of suncream between his hands.
I clear my throat and nod. “Yeah as always”
Nick and Nate appear a few minutes later, carrying a speaker and a cooler. Chris follows behind, looking half awake but ready. The energy is high, there’s a buzz in the air, a shared excitement.
We pack up our things and head out, the beach isn’t too far so we decide to walk. As we walk onto the beach, the sand warm beneath our feet, I fall into step beside Nick. I nudge him playfully with my elbow.
“So, did you text him yet?” I ask, raising an eyebrow.
Nick rolls his eyes but can’t hide the smirk tugging at his lips. “No” he admits. “Didn’t want to seem too eager.”
I scoff. “Oh, please. You got his number for a reason. What’s the harm in a little ‘had fun last night’ text?”
He shrugs, glancing at his phone like he’s debating it. “I don’t know. What if he’s not actually interested? Maybe he was just being nice.”
I laugh. “Nick, he gave you his number. That’s not just being nice, that’s interest. Don’t overthink it.”
He sighs, shaking his head. “I hate that you’re right.”
I grin. “I know.”
Matt, who had been walking ahead with Nate and Chris, slows his pace until he’s beside me, catching part of the conversation.
“Nick’s got a little romance brewing?” Matt teases.
Nick groans. “Oh, God. Here we go.”
Matt smirks. “Hey, I’m just saying, maybe we should all go on a double date.”
I laugh, while Nick looks horrified. “Absolutely not” he says firmly, shoving Matt’s shoulder. “You two are bad enough alone.”
Matt just grins, giving me a quick glance before looking back at the ocean stretching out ahead of us. “I don’t know what you mean.”
I glance over at Chris, who’s been quiet this whole time, eyes glued to his phone as he scrolls with a concentrated expression. He hasn’t said much since we left the villa, and now that I think about it, he was the first to call it a night yesterday.
"Where’d you disappear to so early last night?" I ask, nudging his arm lightly.
Chris barely looks up, but I catch the small smirk on his lips. “Had some business to attend to.”
I raise an eyebrow. "Business? Sounds sketchy."
Matt, walking just ahead of us, snorts. "It’s Chris. It probably was sketchy."
Chris finally pockets his phone and rolls his eyes. "Relax, I just had to deal with something."
Nick jumps in. "Deal with something, or someone?"
Chris doesn’t answer right away, just smirks before shaking his head. "You guys are way too interested in my life."
I narrow my eyes at him, feeling like there’s more to it than he’s letting on. "So, no details then?"
Chris flashes me a knowing look but doesn’t elaborate. "Nah, just know I had a good reason to dip early."
I exchange a glance with Matt, who looks just as unconvinced as I feel. But before I can press further, we reach the beach, and Chris walks ahead like the conversation never happened.
Nate is power walking ahead of all of us, completely determined to claim the best possible spot on the beach. “Man’s on a mission” Nick mutters beside me, shaking his head as we watch him weave through groups of people like he owns the place.
By the time we catch up, Nate has already staked out a prime spot. not too close to the water but not too far either. “Five loungers secured!” he announces proudly, dropping his bag onto one of them.
“Alright, Nate” Matt chuckles, setting his towel down. “Did you fight someone for these, or?”
“Nope” Nate grins. “Just my superior speed and determination.”
Chris rolls his eyes as he kicks off his slides. “More like you nearly took out a family of four.”
Nate shrugs, completely unbothered. “Survival of the fittest.”
I laugh as I drop onto one of the loungers, stretching my legs out. The sand is warm beneath my feet, and the sound of the waves rolling onto shore instantly puts me at ease. The weather is perfect, just hot enough to make the idea of getting in the water tempting, but not unbearable.
Matt plops down beside me, rubbing some suncream onto his arms. “Alright” he says, turning to me with a small smirk. “Are you actually getting in the water today, or are you gonna pretend to and then just sit here looking cute?”
I scoff, taking off my sunglasses to look at him properly. “Excuse you! I always get in.”
Matt raises an eyebrow. “Dipping your toes in doesn’t count.”
I roll my eyes, but before I can argue, Nick throws his arm around me dramatically. “If you don’t, we’re throwing you in” he warns.
I groan. “You all are mean.”
Chris, who’s already lying back with his arms behind his head, cracks a lazy smile. “Better start mentally preparing now.”
We lounge in the sun for a while, letting the warmth soak into our skin as we take in the beach around us. The sounds of waves crashing and distant laughter create the perfect atmosphere, and for a little while, none of us feel the need to do anything but just exist.
Chris has his arms folded behind his head, eyes closed like he might actually fall asleep. Nate, always restless, scrolls through his phone but keeps glancing up at the water like he's itching to go in. Nick is lying on his stomach, probably still thinking about how to text that guy from last night. Meanwhile, Matt is next to me, shifting occasionally as if he’s just waiting for the perfect moment to drag me into the ocean.
Eventually, Nate sighs dramatically. “Alright, enough lying around. We came to the beach, let’s actually get in the water.”
Chris grunts but doesn’t open his eyes. “You go ahead.”
Nick stretches, sitting up. “Yeah, I’m down. I need to cool off before I melt.”
Matt turns to me with an expectant look, his smirk already forming. “You coming, or are we throwing you in?”
I roll my eyes but stand up, dusting sand off my legs. “I’m coming, I’m coming. No need for violence.”
Matt grins. “Good choice.”
We all head toward the shoreline, the hot sand beneath our feet quickly giving way to the cool, foamy edges of the waves. The water is crystal clear, and as soon as we step in, it’s instantly refreshing.
Nate, naturally, is the first to dive under. He comes up shaking his hair out like some kind of surfer movie actor. “This is the life” he sighs.
Nick walks in a little slower, shivering as the water reaches his waist. “Okay, yeah, that’s cold” he mutters.
Matt stays beside me, watching me closely. “Alright” he teases, nudging me. “Moment of truth, are you going all the way in, or are we carrying you?”
I give him a look before dramatically diving under myself, resurfacing a moment later with a victorious grin. “Ha! See? No need for threats.”
Matt laughs, shaking his head. “Damn. I was kinda looking forward to an excuse to tackle you.”
I splash him in response, and before I know it, all of us are caught in an all out splash war, laughter mixing with the sound of the waves.
As we calm down, Nate suddenly claps his hands together. "Alright, I have an idea! Lets play a game of chicken!"
Nick groans. "Oh god."
Matt looks at me, raising an eyebrow. "What do you think? You wanna take these guys on?"
I shake my head, laughing. "Matt, have you seen them?. We’re at a serious disadvantage here."
Matt grins. "So? We’ve got strategy."
"Strategy?" I repeat, skeptical.
"You’ll see" he says, already crouching slightly to let me get onto his shoulders.
I hesitate for a second before climbing up, balancing myself as he stands to his full height. From up here, I can see Nate already hoisting Nick up onto his own shoulders, calling over to Chris to ask him to referee.
Chris calls out from the shore. "Alright, you two, fight to the death! Uh, I mean, first one to fall loses."
I brace myself as Nick reaches out, trying to shove me, but I dodge, gripping Matt’s head for balance.
"Not happening" I tease.
Nick tries again, but I bat his hands away, and Matt shifts his stance, stepping further into the water.
Matt suddenly spins in the water, making me abruptly shift to the side, just enough to knock Nick off balance.
"What the-" Nick yells as he topples, dragging Nate down with him.
Water splashes everywhere, and when it settles, Matt and I are the only ones still standing.
"Are you kidding me?" Nick sputters, pushing his wet hair out of his face.
Nate shakes his head, laughing. "Damn. Alright, that was smart."
I let out a victory cheer, throwing my arms up. "Champions!"
Matt tilts his head up to look at me. "Told you we had strategy."
I roll my eyes, but I’m smiling. I slide off his shoulders, feeling an odd mix of emotions settle in my chest. There was something about being that close to him, his hands steady on my thighs, the way he instinctively moved to keep me balanced, that left a weird, lingering feeling inside me. I shake it off, telling myself it's just adrenaline from the game.
We step back onto the warm sand, making our way to the loungers. I grab my towel, patting the salt water off my skin, while Matt runs a hand through his dripping hair before flopping onto his chair beside me.
Nick, still toweling off, suddenly perks up. His phone buzzes on the table between us, and he snatches it up. His eyes scan the screen, and his expression changes instantly, somewhere between excitement and nerves.
“Who is it?” I ask, already knowing the answer.
Nick hesitates, then sighs dramatically. “It’s him.”
Nate, who had just finished stretching out on his lounger, peeks over. “Wait, the guy from last night?”
Nick nods, staring at his phone like it holds the secrets of the universe. “He said, ‘Last night was fun, we should do it again sometime.’”
I grin, nudging him with my foot. “See? That’s a good sign.”
Nick groans, tossing his head back against the lounger. “What do I even say back?”
“‘Yeah, let’s do it’” Nate suggests, completely unbothered as he sips his water.
“Too forward” Nick mutters, fingers hovering over his keyboard.
Matt, who’s been silent beside me, finally speaks up. “You’re overthinking it, dude. Just be casual, try find out how long he’s even here for. Say something like, ‘Agreed. When are you going home?’”
Nick considers it, then slowly starts typing. I lean closer, watching the message form on the screen, before teasing, “I can’t believe I’m witnessing the birth of your love story right now.”
He hesitates for just a second longer before finally hitting send. “Alright. Now we wait.”
I grab the bottle of sunscreen from my bag now that I need to reapply, shaking it a little before twisting off the cap. The midday sun is hot, and I can already feel my skin warming under its intensity. As I squeeze some into my palm, I pause, realizing there’s no way I can reach my back properly.
I glance over at Matt, who’s lounging beside me, his sunglasses perched on his nose as he scrolls through his phone.
“Hey” I say, nudging his arm. He looks up, pushing his glasses onto his head.
“What’s up?”
“Can you help me with this?” I hold up the sunscreen, turning slightly to expose my back. “I can’t reach.”
Matt doesn’t hesitate, taking the bottle from my hand. I shift forward on my lounger, pulling my hair over one shoulder as he squirts some into his palm. The first touch of his hands against my skin makes me shiver slightly, not from cold, but from something else entirely.
He moves slowly, rubbing the lotion in with firm, warm strokes, his fingertips grazing my shoulder blades before moving lower. The feeling is.. distracting. That same odd sensation I had earlier in the water creeps back in, the awareness of how close we are, the way his hands linger just a little longer than necessary.
“You’re tense” he murmurs, his voice lower than usual.
I huff out a small laugh, trying to ignore the way my heart suddenly seems to be hammering in my chest. “Probably from carrying all you guys in chicken.”
Matt chuckles behind me, his breath warm against my shoulder. “You wish.”
His hands glide over my lower back before finally pulling away, and I find myself missing the contact more than I should. I take the bottle from him, murmuring a quick, “Thanks” as I shift forward, trying to shake off whatever that was.
But as I catch his gaze, I wonder if he feels it too. But then I notice it, almost staring right at me.
As casually as I can, I grab my phone and type out a quick message to Matt:
Fix your pants.
I glance up just in time to see him read it. His eyes widen slightly before he tilts his head, smirking at the screen. A second later, my phone buzzes.
Can’t help it when you’re sitting next to me like that.
My breath catches, heat creeping up my neck as I reread his words. I hesitate before replying, but there’s no point in denying it.
I feel the same.
There’s barely a pause before he responds.
You wanna help me fix it?
I bite my lip, trying to suppress the shiver that runs through me. My mind spins for a way to sneak off without raising suspicion, and then it hits me.
I clear my throat and stretch, making a point to sound nonchalant. “Anyone hungry?”
Nate lazily tilts his head back from his lounger, eyes half shut behind his sunglasses. “Not extremely” he mutters.
Nick shakes his head. “I could eat, but I’m not starving.”
I nod, keeping my tone even. “I think I’m gonna walk back to the villa to grab something.”
Matt immediately pushes himself up from his chair. “I’ll come with. We can make sandwiches for everyone and bring them back down.”
The perfect excuse.
Nick shrugs. “Sounds good.”
Chris barely looks up from his phone, and Nate just mutters something about getting some fries later.
I stand, brushing the sand off my legs, and Matt does the same. I feel his eyes on me as I grab my bag, and when I finally meet his gaze, I know we’re on the same page.
We turn toward the path leading back to the villa, walking just a little too fast, anticipation crackling between us.
The second we step inside the villa, the cool air hits my sun kissed skin, but it does nothing to cool the heat building between my legs. The door clicks shut behind us, and suddenly, the feeling gets thicker, heavier.
Matt drops the beach bag onto the counter, glancing at me as he rubs the back of his neck. "So.. sandwiches?"
I raise an eyebrow, biting back a smirk. "Is that really what we came back for?"
His lips twitch, and before I can blink, he's stepping closer, crowding me against the kitchen counter. "You tell me" he murmurs, voice low, teasing.
My breath hitches, but I hold my ground, tilting my chin up. "You were the one that needed fixing."
His hands land on the counter on either side of me, caging me in. "Yeah?" His eyes flick down to my lips for just a second before meeting mine again. "And you're the one that offered to help."

Part 18. vol 2: To remember
Part 19: To carry
You drag the brush through your damp hair, wincing slightly when it snags on a knot. Your muscles still ache in the best way possible, a dull throb deep in your bones that makes you feel flushed all over again. It’s been hours since you left the hut with Neteyam, hours since his lips were on you, since his hands—
The door to your quarters slams open so violently that you nearly jump out of your chair.
Kate strides in like she owns the place, eyes locking onto you immediately. Before you can even protest, she shuts the door just as aggressively, spins on her heel, and plants her hands on her hips.
"Spill," she commands.
You blink. "What—"
"Don’t play dumb," she cuts you off, pointing a finger at you like you’re on trial. "I know damn well you weren’t here last night, and I know Neteyam didn’t walk you back like you two promised Norm."
Shit.
Your heart kicks up, heat creeping up your neck. "How do you—"
"Because Norm was confused as hell when you weren’t at breakfast," Kate smirks, crossing her arms. "So I may have told him you got back late, crashed, and overslept."
Your jaw drops. "What?!"
"You’re welcome, by the way," she says, looking far too pleased with herself.
"Kate!"
"What? Did you want him to know you were out all night getting railed by the chief’s son?"
Your face burns instantly. "Kate! How do~?!"
She grins like the menace she is and flops onto your bed, leaning back on her elbows. "So? Tell me everything."
You groan, burying your face in your hands. "Oh my God—"
"Uh-uh," she tuts, kicking at your leg. "Don’t act all shy now. I just covered for your ass. The least you can do is tell me how it was. And don’t lie—I can see it all over your face. You’re glowing like one of those bioluminescent plants on your desk. And your neck…" She pointed towards the few lovebites what was left by Neteyam.
You exhale sharply, dropping your hands to your neck. Kate’s not going to let this go. And, honestly… maybe you do need to talk about it.
Because, holy shit.
You clear your throat, still avoiding her eyes. "We… we started heading back."
"And?"
You swallow. "And… we got a little distracted."
Kate squints. "Define distracted."
Your stomach flips just thinking about it. The feel of Neteyam’s hands on your waist, the way his lips traced over your jaw as you kissed him back, lost in each other—
You shift in your seat. "We started kissing and, um… we never actually made it back."
Kate’s eyes widen. "Oh, bitch."
You let out an embarrassed laugh, pressing your cool hands to your flushed cheeks. "Okay, so we were walking back, just like we promised Norm," you begin, setting your brush down as you turn toward her. "But then we stopped for a second—you know, to talk..."
Kate groans, flopping back dramatically. "Oh, this already sounds like the beginning of a bad decision."
"Oh, it was," you laugh, shaking your head. "One second, we were kissing. The next I was on his ikran towards the hut.
Kate’s eyes widen. "Wait, wait. To the hut? Outside? You little heathen."
"Listen, I didn’t plan for it to happen like that!" You defend, laughing. "But, you know, one thing led to another, and suddenly, we were stumbling back to the hunter’s hut instead of the outpost."
Kate smacks your arm. "So, you lied to Norm too!"
"I prefer to think of it as an unspoken change of plans," you tease, winking. "Anyway, once we got inside, it was over for me. He was all over me, Kate. Like, kissing me, touching me, whispering all this shit in Na’vi—I swear, I have never been this turned on in my entire life."
Kate fans herself. "Okay, okay, but tell me the real tea. How was it?"
Your grin turns positively sinful. "Insane. Like, I didn’t know I could come that hard. Whether he was eating me out or fucking me, it was just—Eywa, I think he ruined me."
Kate makes a strangled noise, her mouth open in shock. "Hold the hell up. He went down on you?"
"Oh, Kate," you sigh, shaking your head. "Not just 'went down on me.' He fucking worshipped me. He had me shaking, sobbing, gripping onto his braids like my life depended on it."
Kate looks like she might combust on the spot. "You’re lying."
"I’m not," you say, eyes wide with sincerity. "He had me coming in, like, two minutes. And then he just kept going."
Kate groans, burying her face in your pillow. "This is so unfair. Why do you get the ten-foot-tall sex god?"
"Because I deserve nice things," you quip, smirking.
Kate lifts her head, her eyes gleaming with pure nosiness. "Okay, but what about the main event? Like, how big are we talking?"
You pause for dramatic effect. Then, with a slow, knowing look, you simply say: "Big."
Kate gasps. "Like, scary big?"
You laugh. "At first? A little, yeah. But Neteyam was so gentle. He was holding himself back, trembling above me because he didn’t want to hurt me." Your voice softens slightly as you recall the way he shuddered, the way he pressed slow, reverent kisses to your skin as he waited for you to adjust. "He took his time, made sure I was okay every step of the way."
Kate sighs, clutching her chest. "Ugh, that’s so hot."
"But," you continue, eyes darkening with memory, "once I told him not to hold back? He lost it."
Kate’s jaw drops. "And?"
"And then he fucked me so good, I think I forgot my own name." You let out a breathy laugh, shaking your head. "I was gripping onto him, telling him how good he felt, and he just—ugh, Kate, the noises he was making? He was so deep, so strong, and when he came—"
"STOP," Kate wails, throwing a pillow at you. "I’m going to die alone, and it’s your fault."
You cackle, catching the pillow as she groans dramatically.
Kate sighs, shaking her head. "So, let me get this straight. You had the best night of your life, your hot alien boyfriend practically worshipped your body, and you’re sitting here acting like a normal person?"
"Trust me," you murmur, stretching slightly as you feel the dull ache still lingering between your thighs. "I am not normal right now."
Kate grins. "Damn right, you’re not. You’re the luckiest bitch alive."
You smirk, leaning back against your bed with a dreamy sigh. "Yeah. Yeah, I really am.”
You stretch your legs out on the bed, still grinning as you let your head fall back against the pillow, the memories of this morning making warmth pool deep in your belly all over again.
Kate, still lying beside you, turns her head toward you, her blue eyes gleaming with anticipation. "You’re holding back on me. I can feel it. What else happened?"
You hum, biting your lip, debating whether or not to keep talking. But then again, when have you ever kept anything from Kate?
So, you smirk. "Okay, so… this morning."
Kate immediately sits up, cross-legged, fully invested. "Yes?"
You sigh dreamily, running a hand through your still-damp hair. "He got up before me, right? And when I finally woke up, he was just sitting there, watching me with this stupidly soft look on his face. Like, full-on ‘you are my entire world’ eyes."
Kate clutches her chest dramatically. "Stop. You’re killing me."
You snicker. "And then—he brought me breakfast. Like, actual food. He went out and got fruit for me before I even woke up."
Kate gasps. "So, he dicked you down and took care of you afterward? Oh, he’s a fucking keeper."
You nod, grinning. "Right? And I thought, oh wow, how sweet of him, he’s letting me eat in peace—but no. That was just his way of making sure I had energy. Because the second I finished eating, he went down on me again."
Kate’s jaw drops. "No. Fucking. Way."
"Oh, yes way." You sigh, shivering at the memory. "Kate, I swear, he was starving for it. Like, I’ve never seen a man so desperate before in my life. It was like years of longing just…” you snap your finger “exploded all at once. Kate, I swear, I have never seen someone eat pussy with that level of dedication.”
Kate groans, flopping back down onto the bed, smacking a pillow over her face. "That is so unfair. So insanely unfair."
You laugh, tilting your head toward her. "I mean, not gonna lie, I thought I was gonna pass out. He just would not stop. I was literally begging him at one point, and he still wasn’t done."
Kate lifts the pillow off her face just enough to peek at you. "Begging him to stop?"
"Yes," you groan, throwing an arm over your face. "Like, I lost count of how many times I came, and he still wanted more.”
Kate lets out an inhuman noise. "I am suffering right now."
You grin, rolling onto your side to face her. "And the noises he was making? Holy shit. He was moaning, growling—at one point, I swear he was purring while his tongue was in me."
Kate slaps the bed. "I need a Na’vi man immediately."
You laugh, stretching your arms above your head.
Kate is kicking her feet like a schoolgirl. "I need to sit down."
"You are sitting down."
"I need to sit down somewhere else and maybe touch some grass."
You laugh breathlessly. "His face was buried between my legs, and the noises he was making—Kate, I think he blacked out at one point. He kept mumbling shit like 'so sweet' and 'I need more' and 'I could stay here forever.' I was genuinely concerned he was never going to stop."
Kate groans into the pillow. "Did you die? Did you actually die?"
"Oh, I ascended. I left my body. Eywa had to personally send me back because I wasn’t supposed to go yet."
Kate wheezes, but you’re not done.
"And after, when I could finally breathe again, he just—he looked so fucking pleased with himself, all smug and satisfied. So, I was like, okay. My turn."
Kate’s eyes go impossibly wide. "You—"
You nod, grinning. "I went down on him."
Kate shrieks, rolling onto her stomach and kicking her feet against the mattress. "Tell me. Every. Single. Thing.”
You groan, flopping onto your back. "Yeah. And let me tell you—it was a fucking pain in the ass."
Kate frowns. "What? Why?"
You sigh dramatically. "Because of the goddamn mask, Kate. I had to hold my breath every time I pulled it off, and let me tell you—when you’re trying to fit a thick-ass ten-foot-tall Na’vi’s dick in your mouth while holding your breath, it is not easy."
Kate fucking howls, clutching her stomach as she laughs.
You shake your head. "I had to keep stopping to put my mask back on and breathe, but I managed. Somehow."
Kate wipes tears from her eyes. "I can’t—oh my god—you literally risked suffocating just to suck his dick."
You smirk. "And you know what? The noises he made made up for the lung-burning pain.” you continue, enjoying the way she looks like she’s about to die. "And when he came, he growled so deep I felt it in my fucking bones.”
Kate groans. "I cannot believe you’re living my dream right now."
You smirk. "Believe it, baby. It happened. And I can still hear those sounds he made. If I die tomorrow, just know I went out happy."
Kate sighs dramatically. "You’re officially my hero. And also, I hate you."
You giggle, stretching out on the bed. "I regret nothing.”
Neteyam barely steps into the family’s tent before Jake’s sharp gaze locks onto him. His father is sitting near the fire, sharpening a blade, but the moment Neteyam enters, Jake’s expression shifts—his keen eyes narrowing as he takes in his son’s appearance.
“You look like shit,” Jake comments, his tone neutral but laced with something pointed. “Where were you all night?”
Neteyam stills, his body instinctively tensing. He knew this was coming. He had been prepared for it—at least, he thought he was. But now, standing here, the weight of last night still wrapped around him like a second skin, he doesn’t want to ruin it. Doesn’t want to let this moment, this rare sliver of happiness, be tainted by the inevitable disapproval. So, he hesitates.
And Jake notices. His father’s jaw tightens. “I asked you a question.”
Neteyam exhales through his nose, keeping his voice measured. “I was out.”
Jake’s brow furrows, his ears flicking back slightly. “Out where?”
“Just… out.”
Jake sets the blade down with a sharp clank, standing up. “Don’t do that.” His voice is firmer now, carrying the weight of a man who has had to give orders his whole life. “Don’t stand there and dodge my question. I know you didn’t come back last night. So I’ll ask again—where the hell were you?”
Neteyam clenches his jaw, forcing himself to stay calm. He doesn’t want to fight. Not now. Not when his body still hums with the memory of her touch, not when he can still feel the echo of her breath against his skin. But his silence is its own answer.
Jake scoffs, crossing his arms. “You know, you’ve been a little too distracted lately. First, you’re sneaking off, now you’re staying out all night?” His expression darkens. “You need to be better than this, Neteyam.”
And that—that does it. Something in Neteyam snaps. His whole body goes rigid, his breath leaving him in a sharp exhale. “Better?” His voice is quiet, but the sharp edge in it makes Jake’s ears twitch.
Jake doesn’t back down. “Yeah. Better. You’re the eldest, Neteyam. You don’t get to screw around like this.”
Neteyam’s fists clench at his sides. His entire life has been spent being better. He has done everything asked of him. And yet—this one thing, this one thing for himself, and suddenly, he’s failing? The frustration that’s been simmering under his skin for years erupts like a storm. “I have always been better!” Neteyam’s voice rises, his breath shaking as he takes a step forward. “I have always done everything you asked, everything you expected of me!” His tail lashes behind him, his ears pinned back in anger. “I kept my siblings safe. I protected them, even when it meant taking the blame for their mistakes! I led the last Iknimaya yesterday without a single mistake!” His chest heaves. “And now—now, when I do one thing for myself, I’m suddenly the worst son ever?”
Jake’s expression hardens. “This isn’t about—”
“Yes, it is!” Neteyam cuts him off, his voice cracking with emotion. His breaths are ragged, his golden eyes burning with something raw, something heavy. “I have given everything to this family! Every damn moment of my life has been spent proving myself—to you, to the clan! And for what?” He lets out a bitter laugh. “So you can tell me I should be better?”
Jake’s tail flicks sharply, his own anger rising. “That’s not what I meant, and you know it.”
“Then what did you mean, huh?” Neteyam challenges, stepping closer. His whole body is vibrating with unspent energy, his heart hammering in his chest. “Because I am so tired of this, Dad. Of never being enough. Of never getting to be anything other than what you need me to be.” His voice drops lower, filled with something vulnerable, something close to breaking. “For once—I just wanted something for myself.”
The tent is thick with silence, the only sound is their uneven breathing. Jake looks at him, his jaw clenched, his ears twitching as he processes his son’s words. And for the first time, Neteyam doesn’t care if he’s disappointed. Because this isn’t about proving himself anymore. This isn’t about what Jake wants. This is about him.
The silence between them is thick, heavy with words unspoken. Jake just looks at him now, his sharp golden eyes studying his son—really looking at him. And for the first time, he sees not a boy, not the eager child who used to cling to his every word, but a man. A man who is standing before him, chest heaving, fists clenched, his whole body trembling—not with fear, not with uncertainty, but with anger.
A man who has spent his whole life trying to be exactly what Jake expected. And for the first time, Jake wonders if maybe—maybe—he’s been expecting too much. Neteyam swallows, his jaw tight, his ears pinned back as he glares at his father. But beneath the anger, beneath the frustration, there’s something else—something that makes Jake’s stomach twist.
Something that looks an awful lot like hurt.
Neteyam lets out a bitter laugh, shaking his head. “You know what really pisses me off?” His voice is raw, strained, cracking at the edges. “It’s not the expectations. It’s not even the pressure.” His golden eyes burn as they lock onto Jake’s. “It’s the fact that no matter what I do, you always make me feel like it’s never enough.”
Jake stiffens.
Neteyam takes a shaky breath, running a hand through his braids in frustration. “I have always tried to be the son you wanted, the leader you needed me to be. I listened. I obeyed. I put my family, my siblings—the entire damn clan—before myself. I never once complained. Not once.” His voice drops lower, rough with emotion. “And you still look at me like I will never be the man you want me to be.”
Jake exhales through his nose, his expression unreadable. “Neteyam—”
“No.” Neteyam shakes his head, his hands balling into fists. “You don’t get to talk your way out of this. Because I see it, Dad. I see it in your eyes every time I make a mistake. The way you look at me, like I’m failing, like I’m not good enough.” He lets out a harsh breath, his shoulders shaking. “And the worst part? I believed it.” His throat bobs as he swallows, blinking rapidly. “I spent my whole life believing that no matter how hard I tried, I would never be the son you wanted me to be.”
Jake’s jaw tightens, something flickering behind his gaze. Neteyam lets out a broken laugh, shaking his head. “Do you know how badly I wanted to make you proud?” His voice cracks. “How much I needed to hear you say that I was enough?”
Jake swallows hard. Because fuck. He thinks back—to every time Neteyam took the blame for his siblings, to every time he stood tall, unflinching, unwavering, carrying responsibilities that Jake put on his shoulders. And now, standing here, looking at his son—really looking at him—Jake sees it clearly.
Neteyam never just wanted to be a good warrior, a strong leader, the perfect heir. He just wanted to be his father’s son. Jake lets out a slow breath, his shoulders easing as something inside him shifts. “Neteyam.” His voice is softer now, calmer.
But Neteyam doesn’t want calm. Not now. His ears flatten, his tail lashing behind him. “What? Are you going to tell me I should be better again?” His lips curl into a humorless smile. “That I should be the perfect son? The perfect leader? Because guess what, Dad—I am trying. I have always been trying.”
Jake’s expression shifts—his ears twitching, his lips parting slightly, like he wants to say something, like maybe—maybe—he’s finally starting to understand.
But Neteyam doesn’t want to hear it. Because he already knows the answer. His chest still tight with emotion, he shakes his head and turns away. “I have training to do,” he mutters. His voice is steady, but his body is rigid, his tail snapping behind him.
Jake watches him go, his face unreadable, his jaw locked. Neteyam doesn’t look back. He walks out of the tent, his breath heavy, his mind racing.
The younger warriors are already waiting for him, gathered in the training grounds. The same place he’s always been. The same responsibility he’s always carried. Once, he might have thought it was just another duty—another burden placed on his shoulders simply because of who he is.
But now?
Now, it’s his. They are his responsibility. His warriors. His lessons to teach.
The duty his father put on his shoulders. The responsibility that has always belonged to him. He is the eldest. The future leader. And no matter what personal battles rage inside him, he will do what is expected.
And as he steps forward to lead them, pushing down the lingering ache in his chest, he reminds himself of one thing— Even if his father will never see him for who he is, he will still stand tall.
The lab is dimly lit, humming softly with the quiet whir of machines, the faint glow of monitors casting long shadows over the walls. The others have long since gone to sleep, but he knows you haven’t.
You never do.
Neteyam moves easily through the outpost, ducking through the doorway and passing through the airlock with quiet familiarity. He’s been here enough times to know exactly where to find you. Past the main workstations, near the back corner where your massive desk is buried under notebooks, equipment, and scattered samples.
And there you are. Hunched over a microscope, completely lost in your work, oblivious to everything else. His chest tightens with something deep, something warm.
He missed you. He hadn’t realized just how badly he needed to see you until this moment. And it’s ridiculous, because he had you last night—finally, fully had you. And again this morning, wrapped up in you, touching and kissing and worshiping you until neither of you could breathe.
But it wasn’t enough. It will never be enough.
Neteyam steps closer, his large frame casting a long shadow over your workspace, but you don’t notice him. Your brows are furrowed, lips pursed in thought, entirely consumed by whatever sample you’re analyzing. He smirks slightly, shifting his weight before speaking. "You never sleep, do you, syulang?"
The sound of his voice shatters the silence. You jump so violently that you nearly knock over the entire microscope, a startled yelp escaping your lips. Your wide eyes snap up to him, your hand flying to your chest. “Holy shit, Neteyam!” you gasp, breathing hard. “Are you trying to kill me?”
Neteyam grins, but it quickly turns into a wince as you hurl the nearest object at him—a small vial of clear liquid. He easily catches it, holding it up with a smirk. "Throwing things at me now, ma’yawne?"
"You nearly gave me a heart attack!" you accuse, still trying to calm your racing heart.
Neteyam chuckles, setting the vial down on the desk before leaning against it, his tail flicking lazily behind him. "You need to be more aware of your surroundings. What if I was a real threat?"
You huff, rolling your eyes as you retrieve your fallen notebook. "The only threat here is me deciding not to kiss you for scaring the shit out of me."
Neteyam gasps dramatically, placing a hand over his heart. "No kisses? You wound me."
You squint at him, suspicious. "You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?"
His ears flick, the playful smirk still tugging at his lips. "Maybe a little."
You shake your head, sighing. "You are so lucky you’re hot."
Neteyam grins, leaning down until his face is just inches from yours. "Lucky, huh?" His voice drops, warm and teasing. "So you do think I’m hot."
You scoff, trying (and failing) to fight the smile pulling at your lips. "Obviously." You gesture to him, your eyes flicking over his broad shoulders, his golden eyes gleaming with amusement. "You are unfairly gorgeous."
Neteyam hums, smug. "Good to know."
You shake your head, exhaling, and then your expression shifts—your teasing smirk softens, your brows knitting together just slightly as you look at him. Really look at him. "You look troubled, love," you murmur, your voice gentle, but sure.
Neteyam stills. For a moment, he doesn’t move, caught off guard by how easily you see through him. How effortlessly you pick apart the pieces of him, no matter how well he hides them. He swallows, his golden eyes lingering on your face, before he steps forward, moving with quiet intent.
Your chair is small compared to him, the metal wheels scraping softly against the floor as she pushes herself away from the desk when he kneels before you. His massive frame folds with practiced grace, his strong arms sliding around your waist as he rests his forehead against your stomach.
Your breath hitches, but you don’t hesitate. Your hands move instantly to his head, fingers slipping into his thick braids, stroking, soothing. “What happened, my love?” you whisper, pressing a soft kiss against the crown of his head.
Neteyam exhales slowly, his grip tightening around you. And finally—finally—he breathes.
You don’t ask again. You just hold him.
Your small hands cradle his head, your fingers threading through his thick braids with slow, soothing motions. The steady rhythm of your touch is grounding, pulling him back from the storm raging in his chest. And then—softly, barely above a whisper—you begin to hum.
The melody is unfamiliar, but it’s gentle, warm, wrapping around him like a lullaby. Neteyam exhales, his grip on your waist tightening slightly as his body sags against you. The tension in his shoulders doesn’t fully leave, but it lessens—just a little.
Your lips press another soft kiss to his head, lingering there for a moment. “You don’t have to tell me,” you murmur, voice quiet, patient. “But I’ll be here if you need me.”
Something in Neteyam clenches at that. At how easy you make it. You don’t push, don’t demand answers, don’t pry at the wounds he isn’t ready to expose. You just hold him, letting him exist in this moment without expectation.
His breathing slows. Your hands begin to move, sliding down from his hair to his shoulders, your small fingers pressing gently against the tight muscles there. Your touch is featherlight at first, testing, before you start working out the tension coiled beneath his skin.
“My strong warrior,” you coo softly, kneading at the knots in his shoulders, coaxing the stiffness away.
Neteyam shudders. A quiet, shaky exhale slips past his lips. He doesn’t know how to say it—how to tell you that this, you, are the only thing keeping him together right now. So he doesn’t. He just holds you tighter, pressing his face deeper against your stomach, breathing you in, letting your warmth settle into his bones.
You don’t say anything at first—just let him breathe, let him exist in the quiet safety of your touch. Your fingers continue their slow, gentle movements over his shoulders, kneading away the tension that lingers there. The weight of him against you is grounding, and you can feel the way his body slowly relaxes, melting into your warmth.
But you can also feel the storm still lingering beneath the surface—the way his grip on you is just a little too tight, the way his breathing is steady but not quite even.
So, you do what you know he needs.
You start talking.
Softly.
Gently.
Filling the silence with something light, something safe.
“So,” you murmur, fingers tracing idle circles over his skin, “I finally got some readings back on the plant samples Norm brought in yesterday.”
Neteyam hums against you, a wordless sound of acknowledgment. You smile, pressing another absentminded kiss to the top of his head before continuing, keeping your voice quiet, soothing.
“It’s interesting,” you muse, letting your fingers drag down the strong lines of his back before smoothing over his shoulders again. “The bioluminescence is stronger in the younger samples, but as they mature, it seems to fade. Almost like they outgrow it.”
Neteyam shifts slightly, pressing his forehead a little firmer against your stomach. “Strange,” he murmurs, voice low, rough from exhaustion.
You hum in agreement, continuing your slow massage. “Yeah. We’re thinking it might be a defense mechanism—something to deter herbivores when they’re still small and fragile.”
Another hum from him, deeper this time. Encouraged by the way his body is slowly unwinding, you keep going, letting the soft cadence of your voice distract him, pull him from whatever dark thoughts he’s been trapped in.
“I had to run a few more tests, though,” you continue, smiling slightly to yourself. “And of course, Brian managed to spill half a vial of solution all over my desk, so I had to clean that up before I could even start.”
Neteyam lets out a quiet, tired huff against your skin. “Clumsy.”
You grin. “Right? I swear, for a scientist, that man has zero coordination.”
His tail flicks lazily against the floor, the tension in his muscles fading little by little. You keep talking, filling the air between you with easy, gentle words. And Neteyam—whether he responds with a hum, a quiet murmur, or simply the way his arms tighten around you—just listens.
You keep talking, letting your voice stay soft, soothing, your fingers working methodically over the knots in his shoulders. Neteyam doesn’t move, doesn’t interrupt—just breathes against you, his arms locked around your waist as if holding onto you is the only thing keeping him together.
"So," you murmur, letting your fingers trace along the curve of his traps, "Kate noticed something was off with me today."
That gets a reaction. Neteyam’s ears twitch slightly, but he doesn’t lift his head. He just lets out a slow breath against your stomach. You smirk. "Actually, ‘noticed’ is an understatement. More like she interrogated me like a damn FBI agent."
Neteyam hums, barely lifting his head enough to mumble, "What is FBI?"
You grin, fingers kneading into another stubborn knot. "Doesn’t matter. The point is, she knew. The second she saw me this morning, she was all over me, demanding details. You should have seen her, Neteyam. She was relentless."
One of his hands rubs absent circles against your lower back, and you feel his exhale before he speaks. "What did you tell her?"
You roll your eyes, even though he can’t see it. "What do you think I told her? She covered for me with Norm, so I kind of owed her. And, well..." You pause for dramatic effect. "Let’s just say she knows exactly why I was late today."
Neteyam groans, shifting slightly against you. "Skxawng," he mutters under his breath, the sound vibrating against your skin.
You grin. "Oh, come on. Like I could have gotten away with saying nothing? She literally called me out for glowing."
That makes him lift his head—just enough to rest his chin on your stomach, peering up at you with a smug, lopsided grin. "Glowing?"
You flick his ear gently, rolling your eyes. "Yes, glowing. Her words, not mine."
Neteyam just smirks, golden eyes gleaming as he watches you. "So, you told her everything?"
You arch a brow. "Maybe." Then, leaning down slightly, you lower your voice to a playful whisper. "Just enough to make her die of jealousy."
His tail flicks lazily behind him, his ears twitching under your touch. "And what exactly did you say, syulang?"
You sigh dramatically, letting your fingers continue their slow, soothing work on his shoulders. "Oh, you know. Just that I could barely walk this morning thanks to someone big and persistent."
Neteyam growls, the sound low and playful, and you can’t help but giggle. His hands tighten slightly on your waist, his tail flicking again. You grin down at him. "My whole body is still sore," you add, flicking his ear again for emphasis. "So, thank you for that."
His smirk deepens, his ears flicking forward in satisfaction. "You are welcome, yawne."
You scoff, playfully rolling your eyes. "I wasn’t thanking you, skxawng. I was complaining."
Neteyam just hums, looking entirely too pleased with himself. "Mmm. You didn’t sound like you were complaining last night."
You groan, smacking his shoulder lightly. "Oh my Eywa, shut up."
Neteyam chuckles, his warm breath brushing over your stomach as he squeezes your waist, pressing a lazy kiss just below your ribs. "Never."
And despite the exhaustion still lingering in his body, despite whatever weight had been pressing on him before he walked in here—right now, in this moment, he’s lighter. Because you are here. Because you see him. Because you know exactly what he needs, even when he doesn’t say a word.
You watch him in silence for a long moment, your fingers stilling against his shoulders as you take him in. His massive frame is still kneeling on the hard metal floor, his arms wrapped securely around your waist, his head resting against your stomach.
And it makes you frown.
"Neteyam," you murmur, your hands moving up to cradle his face gently. He barely lifts his head, golden eyes flickering up to meet yours. You sigh, brushing your thumbs over his cheekbones. "Get up."
He blinks, his ears twitching. "What?"
"The floor is too hard," you insist, pushing lightly at his shoulders. "Too cold. You can't just kneel here all night."
But he doesn’t move. His arms tighten slightly around you, his tail flicking once before going still. Your frown deepens. "Neteyam."
His jaw clenches for a second, but then, with a small sigh, he finally relents. You guide him up with gentle hands, pulling him toward you until he settles, shifting his weight to sit cross-legged in front of you. The moment he’s fully seated, you pull him in again, his head resting on your lap this time.
A soft smile tugs at your lips as you run your fingers through his braids, watching how this massive, powerful Na’vi warrior—someone who so many look up to, who carries so much responsibility—clings to you like a lost child.
Your heart aches for him. You lean down, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to his temple, your fingers still weaving through his hair. "Want to stay with me for the night?" Your voice is barely above a whisper, gentle and careful, as if speaking too loudly might shatter the fragile moment between you.
Neteyam stiffens slightly, but only for a second. Then, he exhales, melting further against you. His grip on your waist loosens just enough for his hands to slide down, resting against your thighs, grounding himself.
He doesn’t answer right away. But when he does, his voice is quiet, raw. "Yes."
You press another kiss to his forehead, letting your lips linger for a moment before pulling back. Your fingers continue their soothing path through his braids, feeling the tension slowly ease from his body.
Then, your eyes flick toward the wall where the Na’vi-sized exo-masks hang, right next to the airgate.
"Get your mask," you murmur softly, still combing your fingers through his hair. "I know the air here won’t hurt you right away, but you’ll need it."
Neteyam huffs softly, tilting his head to look up at you. "I don’t need it." But looking in your eyes he hums against but doesn’t move immediately. Instead, he nuzzles into your touch just a second longer before finally shifting, his golden eyes meeting yours with something unreadable in them.
Then, with a quiet exhale, he pulls himself up. His movements are slow, unhurried, like he’s reluctant to leave the warmth of your touch, but he eventually stands to his full height, stretching slightly before making his way toward the airgate.
You watch him carefully, your heart squeezing at the way his shoulders sag just slightly, the way his tail flicks in subdued exhaustion. Even in the dim artificial light of the lab, he still looks tired.
Not just physically. But in the way that makes your chest ache. You don’t know what happened today—he hasn’t told you yet. But you’ll wait. You’ll always wait for him.
Neteyam adjusts the exo-mask on shoulder as he walks back to you, his steps slow but sure. His golden eyes soften slightly when he sees you already on your feet, waiting for him. Before he can say anything, you grin, tilting your head playfully. "Come with me. I will show you my palace."
His ears flick in amusement at your teasing tone, but he follows without hesitation as you lead him toward your quarters. The outpost halls are dimly lit at this hour, the hum of machinery the only sound aside from your soft footsteps. Neteyam moves silently behind you, his presence warm and grounding. When you finally reach your door, your fingers hesitate for just a second before you press the keypad to unlock it.
As the door slides open, a sudden, unexpected nervousness creeps in. You step inside and glance over your shoulder at him. "I just realized… you’ve never seen my room before."
Neteyam ducks his head slightly as he steps through the doorway, his massive frame nearly filling the entrance. He straightens once inside, his golden eyes slowly taking in the space. "I know it’s nothing like the kelkus in the village," you murmur, watching him carefully. "But it’s mine."
Your quarters are spacious by human standards, but with Neteyam standing in the middle of the room, he looks comically large. The ceiling is high enough that he doesn’t have to crouch, but the furniture, the layout—everything is clearly designed for someone much smaller.
His gaze drifts around the room, lingering on the shelves lined with books, the soft glow of a lamp casting warm light over your desk, the small personal touches that make this space yours. But when his eyes land on your bed—neat, a bit small by comparison—he glances back at you, a silent question clear in his expression.
How could I fit there?
You see the thought forming before he can voice it, and before he can ask, you answer with a grin. "I’ll make a bed on the floor. So we can sleep together."
Neteyam’s brow furrows instantly. "No. You should sleep in your bed. It is soft. I will be fine on the floor."
Your expression shifts, a knowing look crossing your face as you cross your arms. Neteyam doesn’t even need to hear your reply—he can already see the stubborn determination written all over you.
He sighs. "You are not going to let me win this, are you?"
You shake your head, smirking. "Not a chance."
Neteyam exhales through his nose, a defeated but fond smile tugging at the corners of his lips. Eywa, he thinks, how did I ever stand a chance against you?
Neteyam watches in quiet amusement as you move around your room, gathering blankets and pillows with an easy familiarity. There’s a softness in your movements, a quiet care as you arrange everything on the already carpeted floor, making it feel like a proper sleeping space instead of just cold metal. He notices the small details—the way you fluff the pillows just a little extra, the way your fingers smooth over the fabric like you’re making sure everything is perfect.
The sight warms something deep inside him. When you finish, you step back, surveying your work with a pleased smile. Then you turn to him, your tiny form sitting cross-legged on the makeshift bed as you tilt your head up to meet his gaze.
"Now it’s ready." Your grin is radiant. You pat the thick blanket beside you, your eyes twinkling with invitation. "Come here, love."
Neteyam doesn’t hesitate.
He lowers himself onto the blankets, folding his massive frame beside you with surprising grace. The moment he’s close enough, you curl into him, tucking yourself against his chest. His arms wrap around you instinctively, his body relaxing for the first time since he left the village. The steady, comforting weight of you against him is grounding, and he lets out a quiet, contented breath.
For a while, you both just exist like this—wrapped up in each other, warm and safe. He can feel your breathing, the subtle rise and fall of your chest, the gentle way your fingers trace idle patterns against his side.
But then—you start to squirm.
Neteyam hums in mild protest, tightening his arms around you. "Where do you think you’re going?"
You laugh, wiggling against his grip until you manage to slip free. "I need to take a bath."
Neteyam raises a brow, his tail flicking lazily behind him. "Now?"
"Yes, now," you insist, pushing yourself up. "I stink."
He tilts his head, a smirk playing at his lips. "I don’t mind."
You roll your eyes, shoving at his shoulder playfully. "Well, I do. But I’ll be quick."
Before he can argue further, you’re already on your feet, bolting toward the door on the other side of the room. Neteyam huffs a quiet chuckle, watching you disappear behind it. His golden eyes linger on the closed door for a moment before he shifts onto his back, staring at the ceiling with a soft sigh.
He hadn’t realized how much he needed this—how much he needed you.
Neteyam sits cross-legged on the floor, his sharp eyes quietly scanning your room as he waits for you to return. The unfamiliar space feels strange yet oddly comforting, filled with little details that are so you.
His gaze drifts to your bed first. It’s small, the mattress raised off the ground on some kind of human-made frame. A few soft-looking things rest against one side—round and colorful, with stitched-on smiles. He tilts his head slightly, curious. What are those? Some kind of sleeping companion? He huffs a quiet chuckle at the thought. Humans always have strange customs.
Shifting his attention, his eyes find the opposite side of the room. Your desk. It’s massive compared to the rest of the space, almost chaotic with how many books and small trinkets clutter the surface. The shelves above it are no different, stacked with even more books, old notebooks, and glass vials filled with preserved plant samples.
And then—his eyes catch something else.
A wall of photos.
He leans forward slightly, studying them. There are a few with your colleagues, arms thrown around each other, grinning at the camera. You look happy in them. Carefree. His lips twitch into a small smile at the sight. But then—his gaze lands on an older photo. A much younger version of you stares back at him, standing next to a smaller boy. He is grinning wildly, one arm slung around your shoulders as if the two of you were inseparable.
Neteyam’s chest tightens.
He remembers this boy.
Your little brother. The one who died along with your parents when they were in a car. You never speak about them—not in detail. He knows it still hurts. Knows it’s a wound that never fully healed.
For a moment, all he can do is stare at the picture, taking in the way your younger self leans into your brother, how effortlessly happy you both look. He wonders if you still dream about them. If their voices still echo in your mind when you’re alone. If the weight of their absence lingers in your heart the same way his own burdens weigh on his shoulders.
A quiet sigh escapes him as he forces his gaze away. That’s when he spots it. An old, worn sketchbook tucked among your things. Recognition sparks in him instantly. He knows this book. Three years ago, when you first started visiting the village after your arrival, it was always in your hands. You carried it with you everywhere, constantly flipping it open to sketch the world around you.
He reaches out, careful as he lifts it from its resting place. The cover is slightly frayed from years of use, the edges soft and worn beneath his fingertips. Gently, he opens it.
The first few pages are filled with detailed sketches of atokirina, the small, luminescent woodsprites sacred to the People. He remembers when you showed him one of these drawings, excitement shining in your eyes as you described how you had seen one deep in the forest.
The next pages are filled with plants—Pandoran flora drawn with such careful precision that it’s almost startling. Then, animals. Creatures from the forest and sky, all captured with an artist’s touch, their movements frozen in ink and graphite. As he flips through, a strange warmth spreads through his chest. You were always watching. Always observing. Always admiring everything around you.
Then—near the end of the book—he finds something that makes him still.
A drawing of him.
It’s different from the others. More detailed, more intentional. While the other sketches feel like quick studies, like you were capturing fleeting moments, this one is deliberate. Precise. Every line, every shade of graphite etched with careful attention.
His breath catches slightly.
This is not something you drew in passing.
This is something you studied. Something you spent time on. His younger self stares up at him from the page—strong and proud, his braids falling over his shoulders, his expression thoughtful yet serious. He looks… regal. Almost noble. And suddenly, he realizes—this sketch must be years old. You haven’t carried this book in a long time.
Which means… You were drawing him before you were together. Before you were anything more than acquaintances.
Something warm, something deep and overwhelming unfurls in his chest. How long, ma’tanhi? How long have you seen me like this? His fingers brush over the page, lingering on the details of his face—the curve of his jaw, the careful strokes that form his braids. A small, almost disbelieving smile ghosts over his lips.
He thought he was the one who watched you. Who admired you from afar, who secretly memorized your every movement, your every smile.
But you had been watching him too. And you had been seeing him long before he ever realized it.
Neteyam quickly shuts the sketchbook, hurriedly placing it back where he found it as the sound of the water shutting off reaches his ears. His heart pounds for an entirely different reason now, the warmth in his chest still lingering from what he found inside the old pages.
Just as he settles back, pretending to be focused on something else, the bathroom door creaks open.
He looks up—And immediately forgets how to breathe.
You step out, steam curling around you like a veil, your hair piled into a messy bun on top of your head. Your skin glistens slightly, still damp from the bath, and the only thing covering you is a single, small towel wrapped around your body.
Neteyam’s ears flick back as heat floods his entire face, his blush darkening to a deep shade of purple. His eyes flicker away for a moment, then back—just for a second—before he quickly looks elsewhere, his jaw tightening as he struggles to keep his composure.
You notice instantly. A slow, teasing smile tugs at your lips as you saunter forward, your bare feet padding softly against the floor. His ears twitch again, his tail curling slightly behind him, and you bite back a laugh at how utterly caught he looks.
The mighty warrior, completely undone by you. When you reach him, you lean down, pressing a soft, lingering kiss against his lips. He stiffens slightly, caught between wanting to touch you and keeping his hands firmly in his lap.
Then—your voice, soft and playful against his lips.
"Do you like me?" A simple question. Innocent, yet filled with mischief.
Neteyam exhales sharply through his nose, his golden eyes half-lidded as he fights the urge to drag you onto his lap, towel be damned. His hands clench against his thighs, his self-control hanging by a thread.
"You know I do," he murmurs, his voice lower than intended, rough with restraint.
Your smile widens slightly. "Are you sure? Because you look like you’re in pain, love."
He groans softly, his head tilting back slightly as he closes his eyes, as if pleading to Eywa for patience. "You are testing me, tanhì."
You hum, feigning innocence as your fingers gently trace over his jawline. "Maybe just a little."
You smile at him, your fingers tracing softly along the edge of his jaw before your gaze flickers downward. His fists are clenched tightly on the thick blanket beneath them, his knuckles taut with restraint.
"You know you can touch me," you whisper, your voice gentle, coaxing.
Neteyam swallows hard, his golden eyes flickering up to yours, something raw and vulnerable swirling in their depths. But still, he doesn’t move. Doesn’t reach for you. His body is tense, as if he's afraid that if he does, he won’t be able to stop.
You lean in, pressing a lingering kiss to his forehead, the warmth of your lips melting against his cool skin. "I love you so much," you whisper, your breath brushing over his temple as your small hands slide up his arms, tracing the firm muscles before wrapping around his head, holding him close.
The moment you do, Neteyam exhales, his body shuddering as his forehead comes to rest against your collarbone.
Your scent surrounds him—warm, clean, familiar. The lingering freshness of soap clings to your damp skin, mingling with the natural scent of you. He inhales deeply, breathing you in, his arms finally loosening at his sides.
But the storm in his mind doesn’t quiet.
His thoughts are a tangled mess, everything from his argument with his father to the moment he stepped into your room swirling chaotically in his head. It’s too much, too fast. He doesn’t even know what he’s thinking, only that he feels—everything.
The weight of his father’s disappointment. The frustration, the anger, the exhaustion. But also you. The comfort of your presence. The way your hands move over him, slow and deliberate, smoothing over the tension in his shoulders.
"How can I ease your mind?" you whisper, your fingers still combing through his braids, your voice soft and patient.
Neteyam’s lips part, his breath stalling in his throat.
He doesn’t know. He doesn’t know what will quiet the storm, what will stop the twisting in his chest. He doesn’t even know why he feels the way he does.
And so, without thinking, without meaning to—he asks the first thing that comes to his mind.
"What is cat?"
The words slip from his mouth before he can stop them, and the moment they do, he stills.
You blink.
"What?"
"What is a cat?" he repeats, this time with more hesitation, realizing how nonsensical the question is in the middle of all this.
For a second, there is only silence. And then—A small giggle. His ears flick up, confused, until he feels the way your body shakes slightly against his.
"Oh my god," you mumble, your voice filled with amusement as you press your lips together, clearly trying to hold back laughter. "You're talking about last night, aren’t you?"
Neteyam frowns, confused. "Last night?"
"Yes," you snicker. "After sex, when I said you were like a big cat because you were purring."
His ears flatten slightly in embarrassment. "I do not purr."
You lose it. A loud laugh bursts from your lips, full and unrestrained, and Neteyam immediately huffs in protest, his tail flicking in irritation. "Oh, you definitely do," you tease, grinning as you pull back just enough to look into his eyes. "It was the cutest thing. I’ve never heard a Na’vi purr like that."
Neteyam groans, burying his face in the crook of your neck, as if that will somehow protect him from your teasing. "You are impossible."
"And you are adorable."
He growls softly, nipping lightly at the skin of your shoulder in retaliation, but his lips curl into the smallest, most reluctant smile against your skin. For a moment, just a moment, the weight on his shoulders feels a little lighter.
Neteyam watches as you step away, walking toward the tall shelf across the room. His ears flick forward, tracking your movements, but when you rise onto your tiptoes, reaching for something on the highest shelf—
Eywa help him.
The towel around your damp body shifts, riding up just enough to reveal the soft curve of your bottom. His jaw tightens, his fingers clenching into fists on the blanket beneath him as he forces himself to look away. But he can’t.
His golden eyes remain locked onto you, his breath catching in his throat, and he has to bite back a groan at the sight. He is already struggling to keep his hands to himself, already battling the fire still lingering from the night before, and now—this? This?
"This is cruel," he mutters under his breath.
You finally grab what you’re looking for, a large, heavy book, and turn back toward him. He forces his gaze up—higher—meeting your eyes just as you grin mischievously. "This," you announce, "is an encyclopedia about Earth’s flora, fauna, and every other thing you could possibly imagine." You saunter back toward him, entirely unaware of how close he is to losing his mind, and sit down next to him on the floor, the weight of the book settling between you.
Neteyam exhales, steadying himself.
"And now," you continue, flipping through the thick pages, "I can show you what a cat is… if you’re brave enough."
That smirk. That wicked, teasing little smirk you give him—
Neteyam lets out a low, resigned sigh, his head tilting back slightly. "You are going to be the death of me, yawne."
You giggle, nudging his thigh with your knee. "Oh, hush. Come on, let's find the cat."
Neteyam huffs, his tail flicking behind him as he leans in, peering down at the book, though in truth, he’s only half paying attention. Because you are sitting so close, your bare skin brushing against his, your scent still fresh and warm from your bath, and he’s painfully, painfully aware that you are only wearing that tiny towel.
And worse? You know exactly what you're doing to him.
Neteyam watches as you flip through the thick pages, his tail flicking idly behind him. His curiosity is piqued, though he’s still acutely aware of the fact that you’re sitting so close—your bare skin brushing against his every time you shift.
"Why do you have a book like this?" he asks, his voice low, his gaze flickering between the pages and your face.
You shrug, not looking up as you turn another page. "I like to read it. And look at the pictures."
He hums in acknowledgment, glancing at the detailed images of creatures from a world he has never seen. His fingers twitch slightly, resisting the urge to trace the illustrations of massive forests, sprawling plains, and strange animals with thick fur and small eyes.
Then, your voice softens. "But most of the animals you’ll see in this book are already extinct."
Neteyam frowns, glancing at you. Your expression has changed—your playful smirk replaced with something sadder, something distant. "Extinct?" he echoes, brow furrowing.
You nod slowly, flipping through the pages with a bit more care now. "Gone. Wiped out. Either because of us—humans—or because their world changed too much for them to survive."
Neteyam watches the way your fingers linger on a page depicting a large beast with curved tusks and thick fur, standing in a frozen landscape. His ears twitch slightly at the way your shoulders sag just a little. "I am sorry," he murmurs, his voice gentle.
You give him a small, sad smile, shaking your head. "It's just... strange, you know? Growing up learning about all these animals, seeing their pictures in books and old holovideos, knowing I’ll never actually see one alive."
Neteyam stays quiet, absorbing your words. He knows what it means to lose something—someone. He knows what it means to be unable to go back. After a moment, you shake yourself out of your thoughts and brighten up again, turning to him with a small grin. "Some Pandora animals actually have Earth siblings, you know."
He raises a brow, intrigued. "Siblings?"
"Not real siblings, but they look alike," you explain, flipping through the pages again. "Like, the pa’li—they look a lot like horses from Earth. Same long legs, strong bodies, and fast runners. See?"
You stop on a page with an image of a sleek, four-legged creature with a flowing mane, standing tall in a vast field.
Neteyam tilts his head. "It does look like a pa’li."
You smile. "And then there were creatures like the Great Leonopteryx—on Earth, millions of years ago, we had things called pterosaurs. They weren’t exactly the same, but they were big, flying reptiles with wings."
Neteyam hums, genuinely intrigued now as you continue flipping through the pages, showing him different creatures that once roamed your world. Some are similar to Pandora’s animals, others unlike anything he has ever seen before.
"And now…" You turn a few more pages before stopping on a particular image, your eyes lighting up mischievously. "Here is your namesake, mighty warrior."
Neteyam leans forward to look— And immediately pulls back, blinking in disbelief. "What—" he scowls slightly, pointing at the small, fluffy creature on the page. "This? This is a cat?"
You burst into laughter at his reaction, clutching your stomach as you lean into his side. "Yes! That is a house cat!"
He stares at the picture, utterly baffled. The creature is tiny—soft-looking, with large round eyes and a short snout. Its ears are pointed, and it has a long, thin tail that curls at the end. "This little thing?" Neteyam gestures at the image, then back at himself. "You compared me to this?"
You are cackling now, shaking your head as you wipe at your eyes. "Well, not exactly this one—there were bigger kinds too! But, I mean, listen—cats purr, they’re sleek, they’re graceful hunters, and they can be moody as hell." You give him a pointed look. "Remind you of anyone?"
Neteyam’s ears flatten as he narrows his eyes at you. "I do not mope like a small, fluffy creature."
You grin, poking his chest. "You totally do."
He huffs, crossing his arms. "I am nothing like this ‘cat’ thing."
You sigh dramatically, resting your chin on his shoulder. "You say that, but you’re literally purring right now."
Neteyam stiffens.
His ears twitch.
His tail flicks behind him.
And then—
He realizes.
The soft, low rumbling in his chest. Just because of your closeness.
He is purring.
Your delighted laughter echoes through the room as Neteyam groans, covering his face with one large hand. You nudge him playfully, your grin wide and victorious. "Face it, my love. You’re a big, sexy cat."
Neteyam sighs heavily, shaking his head—but despite himself, he can’t help the small smile that tugs at the corner of his lips. "You are insufferable, tawtute," he murmurs, his golden eyes shining with amusement.
You beam up at him, leaning in to press a soft kiss against his cheek. "But you love me."
And Eywa help him—He does.
Neteyam watches as you turn the pages with practiced ease, finally stopping on another image. You shift the book toward him, tapping a slender finger against the page. "This is a tiger," you say with a knowing smile. "A bigger kind of cat. See? Even the stripes are identical."
His golden eyes drop to the image. The creature is undeniably powerful. Large, muscular, its body covered in sleek orange fur with bold black stripes running along its frame. Its head is broad, ears slightly rounded, and its gaze—though frozen in the picture—is sharp, intense.
Neteyam glances down at himself, at the deep blue stripes running along his own body. Then back at the image of the tiger. A slow exhale leaves him. "This one… I do not mind."
You let out a triumphant laugh. "I knew it! You are a big cat."
Neteyam huffs, shaking his head, but there’s amusement in his expression. He studies the tiger for a moment longer before looking back at you. "And this creature… was it a great hunter?" he asks, curiosity slipping into his voice.
You nod, excitement flickering in your eyes. "Oh, absolutely. Tigers were apex predators—meaning nothing hunted them. They were strong, fast, and incredibly smart. They could take down prey much bigger than them and were known to be patient hunters, stalking for the perfect moment to strike."
Neteyam tilts his head slightly, intrigued. The more you speak, the more he finds himself admiring this Earth creature.
"They were also solitary," you continue, your fingers tracing over the tiger’s image. "Unlike lions, which lived in groups, tigers preferred to roam and hunt alone. They were independent, proud, and deeply territorial."
Neteyam hums, his ears twitching slightly. "So… strong, intelligent, skilled hunter… and prefers solitude." He casts you a sly glance. "Now this, I can accept."
You grin, leaning in close, your chin resting against his shoulder. "See? I wasn’t wrong."
He chuckles, the low sound vibrating against your skin. "Perhaps not, yawne."
Your fingers reach up, brushing idly over the stripes on his bicep. "And tigers were beautiful," you murmur. "Just like you."
Neteyam’s chest tightens, warmth blooming in his core at your soft, genuine words. He turns his head slightly, looking down at you, his golden gaze warm and filled with something deeper—something reverent. "I only care to be beautiful in your eyes," he murmurs, his voice softer now, more intimate.
You smile, your lips brushing against his skin as you whisper, "Then you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." Neteyam exhales slowly, his heart thudding steadily beneath his ribs. And, as he watches you grin up at him, eyes bright with affection, he decides—
If being your big cat means he gets to hear you say things like that… He can live with it.
A soft gasp escapes your lips as Neteyam suddenly scoops you up, lifting you with effortless ease. "Neteyam—!" you squeak in surprise, but the sound is swallowed by a breathy laugh as he settles you onto his lap.
His long legs remain crossed as he pulls you flush against his chest, his massive arms wrapping around you securely. The heat of his skin seeps through the damp towel still wrapped around you, and you melt into his embrace, instinctively tucking yourself closer.
"You like to talk," he murmurs against your temple, his lips brushing against your skin. "And I like to listen. But I want you here while you do it."
A warmth spreads through your chest at his words, and you sigh, relaxing into him. You shift slightly, adjusting the book still in your hands, before grinning. "Alright, mighty warrior," you tease. "Then let’s see how much you can handle."
Neteyam huffs a quiet chuckle. "I have faced palulukan and nantang in the forest. I think I can handle a few Earth creatures."
You smirk, flipping the page. "We’ll see about that."
Your finger trails down to an image of a large, grey, wrinkled-looking creature with massive ears and long, curved tusks. "This is an elephant," you say, tapping the picture. "One of the largest land animals that ever lived on Earth. They were gentle but incredibly strong. They lived in herds and had deep family bonds. They were also really intelligent—able to remember things for years and even grieve their dead."
Neteyam hums, golden eyes studying the creature. "It is… strange-looking," he admits, tilting his head. "But wise. Like the angtsìk of Pandora."
You nod. "Exactly! The angtsìk are kind of like elephants, but with more legs and, you know, the whole six-eyes thing."
He smirks at your casual tone, watching as you eagerly flip to another page. "And this," you continue, "is a wolf. They hunted in packs, much like your nantang. They were incredibly loyal to their groups, working together to take down prey. But they were also affectionate, forming deep bonds with their families. Some were even domesticated by humans, evolving into dogs."
"Dogs?" Neteyam echoes, frowning slightly.
You laugh, flipping to another page with an image of a fluffy-looking canine. "Yeah. They became one of our best companions. Humans and dogs formed bonds so strong that they were considered family. Some were trained to help with hunting, others to protect. But mostly, they were just… loved."
Neteyam’s ears flick, considering this. "Strange… that a predator could become a companion."
You shrug, smiling. "Not so strange. You’re a predator, and I love you."
His breath catches slightly, and you glance up at him, smirking.
"See?" you tease. "Not so different."
Neteyam exhales through his nose, shaking his head in amusement. "You twist words too easily, yawntu."
"It’s a gift."
He chuckles, pressing a kiss against your damp hair before nodding toward the book. "Show me another."
You flip through the pages, continuing to tell him about creatures long gone, their stories preserved only in ink and memory. And as Neteyam listens—his arms holding you close, his deep voice rumbling with thoughtful questions—he realizes he could stay like this forever. Just you, your voice, and the warmth of your body against his.
Your voice is soft as you continue flipping through the pages, reading aloud about the animals that once roamed your home planet. Neteyam hums in response, his deep, steady breathing warm against your skin as he listens, his arms still wrapped securely around you.
But then—he shifts.
You barely notice at first, too focused on the book in your lap, but the way his hold on you tightens ever so slightly makes something stir in your stomach. His lips brush against your bare shoulder—just a whisper of a touch—but enough to make you falter for a split second.
You clear your throat, pretending to ignore it. "And this," you murmur, tapping another picture, "is a red panda. They were small, mostly found in trees, and—ah!"
A soft nip lands at the curve where your neck meets your shoulder, sending a shiver down your spine.
"Neteyam—" you huff, tilting your head slightly to look at him, but he’s already smirking, his golden eyes gleaming mischievously.
"Pay me no mind," he murmurs against your skin, lips grazing your shoulder again. "I am simply listening."
You narrow your eyes at him but choose to let it slide. With a small huff, you turn back to the book, flipping to another page. "Fine. Here—foxes. Now, these little guys were known for their cunning and intelligence—"
Another kiss. This time at the base of your neck. You inhale sharply, fingers tightening slightly on the book. "—for being clever and tricky. They were smaller than most predators but used their wits to survive—"
His nose nuzzles into your hair, his lips grazing just below your ear. "Neteyam," you warn, but your voice wavers slightly, betraying you.
He chuckles softly, the sound sending a thrill through you. "Go on, syulang. I am listening."
You exhale, pressing forward, determined to get through this. "Always causing trouble," you continue, voice a bit breathless. "Always outsmarting those bigger than them. And very, very beautiful."
Neteyam hums approvingly, pressing a lingering kiss to your temple before whispering against your skin, "Then it is like you."
You blink. "What?"
He pulls back just enough to look at you, his expression warm and full of teasing affection. "The fox," he repeats. "Cunning, clever, small. Always causing trouble. Always outsmarting those bigger than them. And very, very beautiful."
Your breath catches, warmth blooming in your chest at his words. You open your mouth to respond, but nothing comes out. And Neteyam—satisfied with the way you suddenly look so flustered—grins, tightening his arms around you as he presses another slow, deliberate kiss to your cheek.
"What is it, syulang?" he teases, voice thick with amusement. "Did I render you speechless?"
You huff, rolling your eyes, but the smile on your lips betrays you. "Shut up."
Neteyam chuckles, resting his chin on your shoulder. "As you wish," he murmurs.
But the way his fingers slowly trace circles against your hip tells you that he’s far from finished.
Neteyam smirks faintly every time your voice falters—every time his lips find the right spot on your skin, making you pause mid-sentence. He enjoys how easily he can alter your thoughts, how just a few well-placed kisses are enough to make you forget the words you were reading aloud.
But what amuses him even more is that you have the same effect on him.
Your weight in his lap, the warmth of your body pressed against his, the soft rise and fall of your breath—it’s enough to pull him from the turmoil in his mind, grounding him in the present. The tension from earlier in the day, all fades into the background as you continue speaking, flipping through the pages of the book.
And yet—his thoughts begin to shift. He feels the way your thighs press against his, the way your damp towel clings loosely to your now dry skin, teasing him with glimpses of the softness beneath. His gaze flickers down, watching the delicate curve of your collarbone, the damp tendrils of hair clinging to the nape of your neck.
You wouldn’t say anything, but he knows you feel it—feels the way your breath hitches slightly, the way you shift just a little when you notice how hard he’s growing beneath you. Neteyam exhales slowly, his hands resting on your waist before sliding beneath the towel, his fingertips brushing over the soft skin of your stomach. You gasp softly, your fingers gripping the book a little tighter, but you don’t stop him.
Encouraged, his hand moves higher, his large palm spreading over your ribs before cupping your breast fully, his fingers flexing gently against the soft swell. And just like that—you go completely silent.
The book in your hands trembles slightly as your back instinctively presses against his chest, your body molding into him, as if surrendering to the slow, deliberate way he’s touching you. Neteyam hums in quiet satisfaction, his lips ghosting over your temple. "You were saying?" he murmurs, his voice deep, teasing.
But you don’t answer. And from the way his smirk deepens against your skin, you know he’s very, very pleased with that.
Neteyam tilts his head down, brushing his lips over the side of your neck, slow and deliberate. The warmth of his breath fans against your skin, and he’s pleased when you instinctively tilt your head, exposing more of your throat to him—silent permission, an unspoken invitation.
His lips press against your pulse, then lower, trailing slow, lazy kisses along the curve of your neck. He savors the way your body shivers slightly against him, the way your breath comes just a little faster. His fingers flex against your breast, his thumb dragging in slow, teasing circles over your already-hard nipple.
You bite your lip, looking away, your fingers curling slightly against the pages of your book. "It’s sensitive," you mumble quietly, your voice barely above a breath.
Neteyam hums in amusement, his lips curving into a small smirk against your skin. "Sensitive?" he repeats, his deep voice vibrating against your throat. His thumb brushes over the peak again, slower this time, just to see how you react.
You inhale sharply, your body twitching slightly in his lap, but you don’t stop him. "Hmm," he muses, kissing just below your ear, his voice filled with faux thoughtfulness. "You say that… but you’re not stopping me."
You let out a small, frustrated sound, squirming in his hold, but he only tightens his arm around your waist, keeping you still. "Neteyam," you sigh, half a plea, half a warning.
He chuckles against your skin, his nose nuzzling the spot just below your jaw. "What, sevin?" Beautiful. "Am I distracting you?"
You exhale sharply, rolling your eyes. "Obviously."
His thumb flicks over your nipple again, just to hear the small, unintentional gasp you let out. "You were telling me about these… foxes," he says, his voice dripping with amusement. "But now you’ve fallen awfully quiet, little one."
You swallow, trying to regain some sense of composure. "Maybe if a certain someone wasn’t touching me like this, I could actually finish my sentence."
Neteyam only hums in response, entirely unbothered, his thumb continuing its slow, teasing strokes. "Do you want me to stop?"
You hesitate. And he lives for that hesitation. "That’s what I thought," he chuckles, pressing another slow kiss to your shoulder, enjoying the way your body melts against his.
The book snaps shut so suddenly that Neteyam barely has time to react before you toss it onto the bed. Before he can ask what you're doing, you're already moving—turning in his lap, shifting until you're straddling his thick thighs. The towel that had barely clung to your body in the first place slips away completely, pooling onto the floor, leaving you bare before him.
Neteyam barely breathes.
Your warm, soft skin presses against his, your smaller frame fitting so perfectly against his massive form. His hands instinctively move to your waist, fingers tightening as if he needs to hold you there, needs to ground himself.
And then—you kiss him.
Hard.
A desperate, heated press of your lips against his, all urgency, all need. His breath stutters as he responds immediately, his large hands sliding down your back, gripping your waist as he pulls you impossibly closer. Your lips move together in a hungry dance, your fingers tangling into his braids, tugging just enough to make him groan into your mouth.
"I fucking missed you," you whisper against his lips, your breath hot and uneven. "Since you brought me back to the outpost, I haven't stopped thinking about you."
Neteyam exhales sharply, his golden eyes darkening as he grips you tighter. "I know, sevin," he murmurs, his voice rough, strained. "I missed you, too."
Your hands slide over his broad chest, feeling the way his heart pounds beneath your fingertips. You trail your lips down the sharp line of his jaw, pressing slow, open-mouthed kisses to his skin. Tiny bites follow each kiss, your blunt teeth scraping against the sensitive spots you know drive him crazy.
Neteyam growls low in his throat, his grip tightening on your waist. And then—you grind against him.
Slow.
Deliberate.
Your bare, dripping heat presses against the hardness beneath his loincloth, and a sharp, strangled sound rumbles from his chest. His ears flatten against his skull, his jaw clenching as his fingers dig into your soft flesh. "Tanhi," he exhales, his voice wrecked, strained with need.
Your lips curve into a smirk against his neck. "Yes, ma'Neteyam?" you purr, rolling your hips again, feeling the way his body tenses beneath you.
His control hangs by a thread. And you—his clever, beautiful, deadly little human—are about to snap it.
Neteyam exhales sharply through his nose, his grip on your waist tightening for a fleeting moment before he forces himself to loosen it. You're so soft against him, your warm, bare skin pressing against his in a way that should be comforting—is comforting—but his mind is still tangled in the remnants of the day.
Your nails graze over his shoulders, tracing along the strong muscles that are still taut with tension. "I want to help, love," you murmur, your voice soft, barely above a whisper. You nuzzle into the crook of his neck, inhaling deeply, breathing him in like his scent alone can soothe you.
Neteyam shudders. "You’re so tense," you continue, pressing a gentle kiss to his throat. "Ever since you walked in. You still didn’t tell me what happened. I don’t like it when you are so burdened." Your small fingers find his forehead, tracing over the deep-set furrow there, smoothing over his frown like you can erase the weight he carries with a touch alone. And Eywa, he wishes you could.
"Let me make you feel good," you whisper, tilting your head to press another soft, lingering kiss to the corner of his lips.
Neteyam swallows hard. His chest rises and falls in a slow, measured breath, but the heat of you—your scent, your warmth, the way your body molds so perfectly to his—it’s unraveling him piece by piece. His hands slide up your back, his fingertips dragging lazily over your spine, feeling the way you shiver beneath his touch. His voice is deep, strained when he finally speaks. "You already do," he murmurs. "Always."
But you’re not satisfied with that answer. You shift in his lap, rolling your hips with purpose, making a quiet, breathy sound when his hardness presses right against your soaked folds. Your nails dig in slightly against his shoulders, your lips brushing against his in a barely-there kiss.
"Then let me show you," you whisper.
Neteyam lets out a deep chuckle, his golden eyes glinting with amusement as he watches you fumble with the knots of his loincloth. Your fingers, so small compared to his, tug at the fabric in frustration, your brows furrowing in concentration.
"Need some help, syulang?" he teases, his voice rich and warm, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
You huff, shooting him a playful glare before nodding begrudgingly. "It’s not fair," you say with a pout, your fingers pausing as you let him take over. "Yours are always tied so damn tight."
Neteyam laughs, shaking his head before effortlessly loosening the knots with a few deft movements. You barely have time to react before his loincloth is discarded behind you, his hardened length finally freed. Your breath catches slightly as you glance down, and Neteyam catches it instantly. His smirk grows.
"What?” he murmurs, tilting his head, his ears flicking forward in interest. "Intimidated, yawne?" You scoff, rolling your eyes before shifting forward, letting your slick folds drag along his length in a slow, teasing grind. Neteyam groans, his hands tightening on your hips, fingers pressing into your soft skin as he watches you with dark, hooded eyes. "Eywa..." he breathes, his voice rough, strained.
You bite your lip, smirking as you press a slow kiss to his lips. "You’re so big," you murmur against his mouth, your breath warm, teasing.
Neteyam’s grip flexes, his tail curling behind him, the restraint in his body evident. His golden eyes burn as they flicker between your face and where your bodies are pressed together. "And yet," he growls, his voice low and full of challenge, "you take me so well, yawne."
A shiver ripples through you at his words, your fingers sliding up his chest, feeling the way his muscles tense beneath your touch. "Then let me take you again," you whisper, your lips ghosting over his, your voice filled with nothing but hunger.
Neteyam groans, his grip tightening on your hips as he feels the desperate roll of your movements against him. Your slick folds glide along his hard length, coating him with your arousal, the friction making his breath hitch. "Please let me..." you practically purr, your voice dripping with need as you slowly reach down, your delicate fingers wrapping around his thick length.
His breath stutters as you lift yourself slightly, guiding him toward your entrance. His ears flick back, a flash of concern flickering across his face. "Syulang," he murmurs, his large hands bracing your waist, holding you still. "You’re still sore from this morning. If you go too fast—"
You silence him with a deep, lingering kiss, your lips soft but insistent against his. He melts into it instantly, groaning as your fingers tighten around him, lining him up with your dripping entrance.
And then, slowly, you sink down. Neteyam grits his teeth, his whole body tensing as you take him inch by inch, your warm, tight walls stretching around him once more. A strangled moan escapes your lips as your head falls forward, your breath coming in short, uneven gasps.
You’re still so sensitive—still raw from his love earlier—but you don’t stop. Your nails dig into his shoulders as you push past the lingering ache, determined to take all of him. You bite your lower lip, your brows furrowing as you adjust, as you stretch wide to accommodate his size.
Neteyam curses under his breath, his fingers flexing against your waist as he watches you, utterly transfixed. The sight of you—your face flushed, your lips parted, your body trembling as you take him so deeply—nearly undoes him.
"Ma’tanhi..." he breathes, voice rough with restraint, his ears pressing flat against his head. "You are—"
"Perfect," you whisper, finishing his sentence with a small, breathless smile. And then, you rock your hips.
Neteyam lets out a strangled whimper as your hips roll over him, the slow, torturous drag of your tight heat around him making his head spin. His grip on your waist tightens, blunt nails pressing into your soft skin as if trying to ground himself, to hold back the instinct to thrust up into you.
His golden eyes flicker toward the door for just a second, concern flashing across his face.
You notice. A small, knowing smile tugs at your lips as you lean in, pressing a lingering kiss to the corner of his mouth. Your movements don’t stop—your hips continue their slow, teasing grind against him, the delicious friction sending shivers down both of your spines. "Every room is soundproof," you whisper, your breath warm against his lips.
Neteyam groans, his whole body shuddering at your words. His restraint is already hanging by a thread, and the knowledge that no one will hear—that he can finally let go, fully and completely—makes something inside him snap. His hips twitch up involuntarily, sinking deeper into you. You moan—loudly.
The sound echoes in the small room, unfiltered, raw, and it sends a sharp wave of heat through both of you. Your eyes widen as a deep flush spreads across your cheeks. "Oh, fuck—"
Neteyam exhales sharply through his nose, his ears twitching, his expression darkening with pure need. His hands slide up your back, gripping you tighter, keeping you close as he leans in, his voice a low, rough murmur against your ear. "Again," he growls. And then, he thrusts up into you.
Your whole body trembles as you take every inch of him, your moans turning into desperate, broken cries with each deep, punishing thrust. Your hands clutch at his shoulders, your nails dragging across his blue skin as pleasure crashes through you in relentless waves.
"F-Fuck—Neteyam—"
He groans at the way you say his name, his ears flicking back, his golden eyes blown wide with hunger as he watches you fall apart above him.
"That’s it, yawne," he murmurs, his voice low and wrecked. "Take it. Take all of me."
His hands grip your hips tighter, guiding your movements, making sure you feel every inch of him as he fills you completely. Your body is so soft, so pliant in his hands, like you were made for him. And fuck, the way you squeeze around him—he swears he might lose his mind.
Your thighs burn from the effort of moving, but you don’t stop. You can’t. Not when he’s pressing into every perfect spot inside you, dragging pleasure from you so intense it borders on unbearable.
"You feel so good, ma’syulang," he groans, his head tilting back, his grip on you tightening. "So perfect around me—"
Your whole body jolts as he angles his hips just right, and you choke on a gasp, your hands flying to his braids for something—anything—to hold onto. "Oh, fuck—!"
Neteyam smirks, the sight of you writhing, completely at his mercy, sending a deep, primal satisfaction through him. "Right there?" he teases, rolling his hips again, hitting that spot with devastating precision.
Your breath shudders, your fingers tangling in his braids as you try to ground yourself, try to hold back the release building too fast in your core. "Neteyam—too much—" you whimper, squeezing your eyes shut, trying to slow down, to edge yourself, to drag this out— But you can’t.
"Don’t fight it," he growls, his voice thick with need. "Let go for me, yawntu."
"I—I can’t—"
"You can," he insists, thrusting up into you harder, deeper, keeping you exactly where he wants you. "Come for me."
The coil inside you snaps. A sharp, broken cry tears from your lips as pleasure crashes over you, your whole body convulsing, your nails digging into his shoulders as you shatter completely.
"That’s my girl," Neteyam groans, feeling you tighten around him, your walls pulsing in the aftershocks. "So fucking beautiful when you come."
He doesn’t stop. He keeps fucking into you, chasing his own release, his movements growing rougher, more desperate as he uses your soft, trembling body to push himself over the edge.
"You can give me one more, syulang," he pants, his breath hot against your neck. "One more—just for me—"
"Nete—I—!"
But you can’t fight it. He’s too deep, too perfect, pressing into every spot that makes you fall apart, and before you can stop it— Your whole body seizes as another orgasm rips through you, white-hot and overwhelming.
"Fuck—yes," Neteyam groans, his hips stuttering as he finally lets go. He buries himself as deep as he can, pressing your hips down against him as he fills you, his release spilling inside you, hot and thick.
The sensation pushes you over the edge one last time, your body clenching around him, milking him for everything he has. Neteyam lets out a deep, shuddering moan, his grip on you unyielding as he presses his forehead to your shoulder, breathing hard. His tail curls tightly behind him, his whole body still trembling from the force of it.
For a long moment, the only sound in the room is your ragged breaths, your body still wrapped around him, completely spent.
Then— A breathless laugh tumbles from your lips as you slump forward against him, pressing your forehead to his.
"You—" you gasp, still trying to catch your breath.
Neteyam chuckles, still trying to steady himself. "You’re the one who climbed into my lap, yawne."
You roll your eyes, your fingers lazily tracing over his damp skin. "You were brooding. I had to fix that."
Neteyam hums, pressing a slow, lingering kiss to your lips. "And you did," he murmurs, his voice softer now, full of something deep, something endless.
You smile against his lips, nuzzling your nose against his. "Good."
Neteyam leans back against the edge of your bed, his broad shoulders resting against the frame, his arms still wrapped securely around you. You’re draped over him, completely boneless, your cheek pressed against the warm skin of his chest. He’s still buried deep inside you, not moving, but still throbbing with each slow beat of his heart. The heat between you is sticky, your bodies tangled together in the aftermath of pleasure.
You murmur something against his skin, but it’s too soft for him to catch.
Neteyam hums, running a hand lazily down your spine. "What was that, yawntu?"
You exhale, nuzzling against him, too content to move. "I said…I feel so blessed."
He stills for a second, his arms tightening around you slightly before he lets out a deep, satisfied chuckle. "As you should, my love."
You roll your eyes, but the lazy smile on your lips betrays you. "I meant blessed to have you, skxawng."
"Mmm." He nuzzles his nose against your hair, inhaling your scent, still thick with sweat and sex. "I think I am the blessed one."
You hum softly, your fingers tracing idle patterns over his chest. "Then we are both lucky."
Neteyam grins, tilting his head down just enough to press a kiss to your temple. "Maybe. But you seem more exhausted than I am, yawne."
You let out a breathy laugh, tilting your head up to look at him. "I think you broke me."
Neteyam smirks, his fingers sliding down to cup your ass, pulling you just a little closer against him, pressing himself even deeper inside you. "After only one round?" His voice is pure sin, deep and teasing. "Tsk, tsk. And here I thought my little human could keep up with me."
You groan, burying your face against his chest. "Fuck off, Neteyam."
"No, no." He grins, his thumb rubbing slow circles over the curve of your hip. "You started this, syulang. Now I’m just wondering… how many more rounds would it take to get me to your level of exhaustion?"
You flush hard, your fingers tightening against his skin. "You’re insatiable."
"Only for you, ma yawntu," he murmurs, his lips brushing against your hairline. "Maybe I should test your limits."
Just to prove his point, he rolls his hips ever so slightly, not enough to be deep, but just enough to feel you clench around him. "Fuck—" You gasp, your fingers digging into his shoulders.
Neteyam groans at the feeling, his golden eyes darkening as he watches your reaction. "Oh?" he purrs, his smirk growing. "You liked that?"
You swallow hard, trying to keep your body from reacting, but it betrays you. You shift slightly, and the movement sends another pulse of pleasure through you, making you clamp down around him again. Neteyam hisses between his teeth. "Mmm, syulang…" His grip on you tightens, his voice thick with amusement. "You keep doing that, and I’m not going to let you rest."
"Then stop talking dirty to me," you mumble against his chest.
He chuckles, his tail flicking lazily behind him. "Oh, but I love seeing you react like this." His large hands slide down your back, kneading your soft skin. "So sensitive, so responsive. All mine."
You groan in frustration, lifting your head just enough to glare at him. "You’re the worst."
Neteyam just smirks, his golden eyes glinting mischievously. "And yet, you’re still sitting on me."
Your face burns. "I hate you."
"No, you don’t." He grins, rolling his hips again, drawing another sharp gasp from your lips. "You love me."
You squeeze your eyes shut, your nails raking lightly against his shoulders as another shiver runs through you. "Fuck—"
"Want me to prove it to you again, yawne?" His voice is pure temptation, his hands already shifting, ready to flip you onto your back.
And, Eywa help you…
Neteyam moves before you can even react. With effortless strength, he flips you onto your back, his massive frame hovering over you as your body melts into the soft blankets. Instinct takes over—you immediately try to wrap your legs around his waist, pulling him closer.
His ears flick at the movement, his golden eyes glinting with amusement. "So eager," he teases, his voice deep and husky as he settles between your thighs.
Your face burns, and you turn your head to the side, avoiding his gaze. But that only gives him the perfect opportunity to dip his head, his warm lips finding the sensitive pulse at your neck. His teeth graze your skin before he presses a slow, open-mouthed kiss there, reveling in the way your breath stutters.
"Where is my reckless scientist?" Neteyam murmurs against your neck, his breath hot, teasing. "The one who talks back, who teases me without fear?"
A shiver runs down your spine as he presses another kiss lower, his hips rolling forward in the same moment. The slow, deliberate slide of him inside you makes you gasp, your fingers tightening against his shoulders.
"Mmm, there she is," he purrs, nipping at your jaw before lifting his head to look at you properly. "I thought I lost her for a second."
You bite your lip, breathless, but a small, teasing smile tugs at your lips. "She’s here, but she’s a little… preoccupied right now."
Neteyam chuckles, a deep, warm sound that vibrates against your skin. "Good."
And then—he starts to move. His hips rock against yours in a slow, deliberate rhythm, savoring the way you stretch around him, the way your body welcomes him so perfectly. He grunts softly, feeling how impossibly tight you still are, and you arch against him, pressing your chest flush to his as a breathless chuckle slips past your lips. You –this little demon in human skin– was laughing.
"What’s so funny?" he murmurs, pressing his forehead to yours, his golden eyes burning into yours as he keeps up his slow, devastating thrusts.
"You, my mighty warrior," you whisper, breathless. "All gruff and strong now… Where was this confidence before, hmm?"
A smirk curls on Neteyam’s lips. "What do you mean?"
You mock a pout, your fingers trailing up to tangle in his thick braids. "Where is my aloof Neteyam? The one who got all flustered when I touched his tail for the first time?"
Neteyam stills for just a fraction of a second—before a slow, wicked grin spreads across his lips.
"Oh, syulang," he purrs, his voice dropping into something dangerously low. "That Neteyam is gone." He growls playfully, his tail flicking behind him. Instead—he picks up the pace. Your teasing dies in your throat, replaced by a sharp gasp as his hips snap forward, driving into you harder, deeper. The new angle has you seeing stars, your legs tightening around him as you gasp his name.
"Ah—Neteyam—"
He grins against your cheek, pressing kisses along your jaw as he keeps up his relentless rhythm. "What was that?" he teases, his voice thick with pleasure.
You can’t answer. You can’t even think. Your body tightens around him, the pleasure hitting you too fast, too hard. "Oh, fuck—" you whimper, your nails digging into his back as your release slams into you, sending waves of ecstasy crashing through your veins.
"That’s it, yawne," Neteyam groans, feeling you tremble beneath him. "Come for me."
You do. You fall apart completely, clinging to him as pleasure wracks your body, leaving you panting and gasping against his chest. But Neteyam doesn’t stop—he’s chasing his own release now, and the way your walls flutter around him only pushes him closer to the edge.
"Fuck—so tight," he grits out, his movements growing more erratic, more desperate.
It should be too much. You should be too sensitive.
But the way he fucks you through it, the way he holds you so close, the way he fills you so completely— It’s too good. And before you can stop it, another orgasm tears through you. "Neteyam—" You barely manage to choke out his name before your body convulses again, pleasure crashing over you for the third time tonight.
"Eywa—" Neteyam curses, his entire body tensing as your walls squeeze around him. "Fuck, yawne—" He groans, burying his face against your shoulder as his hips stutter, and then—he spills inside you, his release warm and thick as he groans your name like a prayer. His arms shake as he holds himself above you, his breath hot and ragged against your skin, his heart hammering against yours.
For a long moment, neither of you move. The only sound in the room is your heavy breathing, your bodies still tangled together, still trembling from the intensity of it all.
Neteyam finally lifts his head, his golden eyes locking onto yours, still hazy with pleasure but filled with something deeper—something warm, something unspoken. He smirks, still panting as he braces himself on his elbows above you. "Three times, yawne?" he muses, brushing a strand of damp hair from your face. "I think that’s a new record."
You groan, covering your face with your hands. "Oh shut up."
He chuckles, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. Neteyam’s smirk softens into something unbearably tender, and he leans down, kissing you slow and deep, as if sealing the words between you.
Neteyam lets out a slow, steadying breath as he finally pulls out of you, his muscles still tense from the aftershocks of pleasure. His golden eyes flicker down, watching as his seed slowly drips from your thoroughly used core, and something primal stirs inside him at the sight. But instead of acting on it, he shakes his head with a soft chuckle, leaning back to search for the discarded towel.
He spots it a few feet away, abandoned where you threw it at the start of your heated night. With a satisfied sigh, he reaches for it and gently begins to clean you up, making sure his movements are slow and careful, not wanting to overstimulate your already trembling form.
You giggle softly, your body still humming with pleasure, and you stretch lazily beneath him, grinning like an idiot. "It was so good," you sigh, voice hazy with exhaustion and bliss.
Neteyam smirks, shaking his head as he wipes away the last traces of your joined pleasure. "Of course it was," he murmurs, his tone teasing but full of warmth. "I always take care of you, don’t I, ma’yawne?"
You hum in agreement, then reach up, your fingers curling around the back of his neck as you tug him down toward you. "Kiss me," you whisper, your breath ghosting over his lips, eyes half-lidded and pleading.
Neteyam doesn’t hesitate. His lips find yours in an instant, the kiss deep and slow, full of something tender. He takes his time, savoring the moment, feeling the way your body relaxes further beneath him as you melt into his touch.
When he finally pulls away, he shifts beside you, lying down next to you on the nest of blankets and pillows you made together. You sigh contentedly, your hand reaching out, searching blindly for something on the floor next to you. Neteyam watches with a raised brow as you grab his mask, pulling it closer before pressing it into his hand. "You should breathe in it," you mumble sleepily, your eyes fluttering closed as you push the device toward him.
Neteyam hesitates for a second before taking it, his fingers curling around it as his ears flick at your quiet words. "I always worry about you when you don’t wear it here in the outpost," you admit, your voice barely above a whisper.
His chest tightens at that—at the way you always think about him, always care for him, even when you’re barely awake. He presses a soft kiss to your temple before lifting the mask to his face, breathing in the filtered air. "I know, syulang," he murmurs, his voice full of something deep and unspoken. "I’ll be fine."
But as he watches you drift off beside him, your small hand still resting against his chest, he realizes—being here, with you, breathing the same air, lying tangled in your warmth—this is the only place he ever wants to be.
Neteyam holds you close, his arms wrapped securely around your smaller frame, his long fingers tracing idle patterns along your bare back. The warmth of your body against his soothes something deep inside him, and without realizing it, a soft, contented purr vibrates through his chest.
You fit so perfectly against him—so small, so fragile, yet strong in ways that never ceased to amaze him. He breathes you in, his nose brushing the top of your head, his tail lazily curling and uncurling as the lingering tension in his body slowly fades.
He thinks you’ve already fallen asleep. But then—
"What happened today, Neteyam?" Your quiet whisper breaks the silence, soft and hesitant, but it still sends a ripple through him. His fingers pause against your back for just a second before resuming their slow caresses. "Why were you so tense?"
You don’t press him, don’t demand an answer—just ask, and wait, giving him the space to speak when he’s ready.
Neteyam exhales slowly, his eyes staring at the ceiling of your small room, his mind drifting back to the conversation with his father, to the weight of expectations, to the frustration that had been simmering in his chest all day.
He swallows hard. "It’s nothing," he murmurs, though even he doesn’t believe the words.
Your fingers, which had been resting lightly on his chest, move—tracing up, pressing gently against his jaw, tilting his face down just enough for him to see the way you’re watching him, even in the dim light.
"Neteyam," you whisper, "don’t do that. Not with me."
Something in him cracks.
Neteyam stares at you, his golden eyes searching your face, his jaw tight as if he’s still debating whether to let the words escape or swallow them down like he always does.
"You are not alone anymore," you whisper, your voice soft but firm, your thumb brushing gently over his cheekbone. "You don’t have to carry everything alone. Tell me, please."
His throat bobs, and for a moment, you think he might shut you out again. But then—he exhales sharply, closing his eyes, as if something inside him finally gives way. "My father…" His voice is rough, strained. "He asked where I was last night. He saw that I was… happy. And still, the only thing he could do was scold me."
Your brows furrow, and you stay silent, letting him continue.
"He told me I should be better," Neteyam says bitterly, his jaw clenching. "That I should always be better." His ears flatten slightly, and his fingers twitch against the blankets. "I have spent my entire life doing everything he asked. I have never disobeyed him, never given him a reason to doubt me. I protected my siblings, even when it meant taking the blame for things they did. I have done everything he wanted—" His voice cracks for a second, but he swallows it down. "And yet, the one time I want something for myself… suddenly, I am the worst son."
Your chest tightens.
"Neteyam…" you whisper, reaching for him, but he shakes his head.
"It’s never enough," he breathes, his voice raw, exposed. "I will never be enough." The pain in his voice, the frustration—the deep, aching wound that has clearly festered for years—it nearly breaks you.
"That’s not true," you say, firm but gentle. "You are already enough, Neteyam. You always have been."
His ears twitch, but he doesn’t respond.
You take a breath, carefully choosing your words. "When I was in the village with the other scientists, I always heard about you." You reach out, threading your fingers through his braids, grounding him. "The other Na’vi speak of you with such admiration. They see you, Neteyam. They see how hard you work, how strong and kind you are. They respect you, they look up to you. You are everything they could hope for in a future leader"
Neteyam blinks, his eyes searching yours, like he wants to believe you but doesn’t know how.
"And your father?" you continue, brushing his hair back from his face. "I know he loves you."
Neteyam scoffs, but it’s weak, half-hearted.
"He does," you insist. "I know it might not feel that way, and maybe he doesn’t always show it the way he should. But you are his firstborn. His son. And I promise you, Neteyam, he loves you."
His breath shudders slightly, his face unreadable. You don’t push him to answer. Instead, you reach for him, gently pulling him closer. And after a moment, he lets you.
His massive body shifts as he wiggles down, pressing his head against your chest, his arms circling your waist, holding onto you. From an outside perspective, it must look ridiculous—the strong and powerful Na’vi, curled up against someone half his size, clinging to you like a lost child. But to you, it is the most natural thing in the world.
You cradle him close, your fingers slipping into his hair, massaging the base of his skull as you feel the weight of his body against yours. He exhales slowly, his breath warm against your skin, his tension finally beginning to ease.
You press a soft kiss to the top of his head, whispering, "You are doing a good job, my love. You always have."
Neteyam doesn’t respond, but you feel it—the way his arms tighten around you, the way his breathing steadies, the way his entire body melts against yours. And when you continue running your fingers through his braids, still holding him close, you hear it again—his soft, contented purr vibrating against your chest.
I guess I just wanted to write a fluff smut part before the pain

Older, married Caleb snippet based off this post cause I need it and need more.

You sit on the counter, legs swinging idly, the cool surface a relief against your sun-warmed skin. The faint stickiness of a melting popsicle lingers on your fingertips, a remnant of an earlier indulgence. The kitchen smells crisp—fresh apples, a hint of cinnamon from the spice rack, and the comforting scent of home.
Across from you, your husband works with quiet focus, slicing through the fruit with practiced ease. The soft thud of each piece landing in the bowl is oddly soothing. You watch the way his hands move, the way the afternoon light catches on the edge of the knife.
He gets a slice on his knife, bringing it your your lips.
You smirk, leaning forward just enough to pluck the apple slice from the flat of the knife with your teeth. It’s crisp, sweet, and a little tart, the juice bursting across your tongue. Caleb still doesn’t look up, but there’s the smallest twitch at the corner of his mouth—he knows you’re watching him.
The soft hum of the ceiling fan stirs the warm air, and outside, a cicada buzzes lazily. The moment is unhurried, easy. You pop the rest of the apple into your mouth, licking a drop of juice from your lip as he continues slicing, his movements steady and sure.
“You’re staring,” he finally says, voice low and amused.
You chew, swallowing before answering. “You’re feeding me. It’s only fair I supervise.”
This time, he does glance up, shaking his head with a quiet laugh.
"Ya know, this whole 40s thing? It's hot. I thought the 30's were hot. But this?" You do a little outline of him with your fingers. "This is nice."
Caleb huffs a laugh, shaking his head as he picks up another apple. "You make it sound like I’m ancient," he mutters, but there’s a smug little tilt to his smile.
"You’re distinguished," you correct, biting into another slice he wordlessly offers. "Rugged. Seasoned."
Caleb huffs a laugh, shaking his head as he picks up another apple. “Oh yeah?” he muses, his tone light but laced with amusement. “So what, I was just decent in my thirties?”
You grin, still lazily tracing his outline in the air like you’re sketching some masterpiece. “No, no, you were very nice in your thirties. But now?” You tilt your head, eyeing him like you’re considering a fine work of art. “Now, you’re like—aged whiskey. Or, I don’t know, a really expensive cheese.”
Caleb finally looks up at you, brow raised. “Did you just compare me to cheese?”
You pop another apple slice into your mouth and shrug. “Sexy cheese.”
He stares at you for a moment before shaking his head, muttering something under his breath that sounds a lot like "unbelievable", but there’s no hiding the way his mouth twitches, or the way his ears go just a little bit pink.
