Nothing at all is prompting this. Certainly not six pages of comic that are taking entirely too long to ink, partially because of Narinder's stupid fucking veil that I hate and am now deep in a blood feud with.

Will greed island au gon ever at least meet mito? i feel like during his search for ging after he leaves the island with killua he would make the same conclusions that kite did and track down his dad's hometown. what do you think his feelings would be? would it improve his horrible sense of self worth?

Side note: how would the zoldyck family arc go in this scenario? I have a feeling that Illumi would show up to mess things up. but this gon is much stronger so he could just basically break into the manor and tell the zoldycks to f off in person.

I didn't even think about this, BUT YES! Gon would go to Whale Island hunting for clues after passing the hunter exam and eventually find Mito. When he learns Mito is Ging's cousin he'll gets excited, cause Gon knows none of his blood family, no matter how distant, an aunt is still a big deal.

His first meeting with Mito will be a bit rough/pretty awkward cause I feel like Ging would let her know he has a kid through a letter or a call or something (is Ging he'll find a way to update her without facing her) but only a decade or so before she have a chance to met Gon. No further messages, no elaboration, by the point Mito sees Gon face to face the concept Ging have a kid will feel alien.

I can see him a bit more self-worth in her presence since 1 - Mito is no NPC she looks after him while he is visiting cause she wants/ she make sure to say when she isn't happy, which makes when she is happy he is around that much more impactful 2 - She will be very angry that Ging abandoned him in some game and while he will defend greed island forever, he is flattered, people rarely get this angry for him. 3 -He bonds with her about Ging leaving, cause the game masters were a bit exasperated at most Ging departure, but Mito was deeply affected by his departure like Gon was. But he still isn't as confident(?) as canon gon.

As for the Zoldyck rescue arc...

I'll be honest, I don't know how that would go, there are too many changes from canon for me to try to domino effect: Illumi already passed the exam, he can't take it again like Killua will, Gon also wouldn't be knocked out with his nen skills, so that scenario ain't happening.

I know Killua coming home needs to happen though, maybe Killua is taking too long in the game (cause he stopped focusing on killing his target after around a week or less and prioritized having fun with Gon and being a rebel) and so the Zoldycks send Illumi to find a way in the game and check on him but idk how that would go. I don't think Gon can beat Illumi. He can beat him in nen arm wrestling and maybe some strength tests, he is a monster in raw power, but is hard to say in a fight with no rules. I can picture Killua, who has the needle, using Acompany cards to run away with gon and freaking out about rebelling against Illumi but I can't picture how the actual confrontation would end.

(I just know Gon won't die inside the game, he has every game master keeping an eye on him if he reaches the point of being in genuine danger. They can be neglectful and all, but they would never let Gon die.)

So for now "how will killua go home?" situation is in progress/may drastically vary in the future

If despite all the changes the situation still end with Gon banging on their mountain gate , Gon would indeed be powerful enough to open the gates and walk to the butler's house without issue but he still has the same "Why must I do all of this to visit a friend?" mentality, and he wouldn't want to cause trouble to the butlers and workers who clearly value killua. So fewer injuries, more questions about the mansion's "rules and 'work designs' choices" (which are usually not answered. cause zoldycks) but overall a very similar outcome.

I want a Star Trek AU in which the Enterprise becomes sentient.

It starts out almost like an egregore, the way the crew talks about the ship like she's alive, referring to her as one of them rather than just a ship. She slowly and imperceptibly gains a conscious and just quietly does things to take care of the crew.

Slowly, anomalies start being noticed. Reports are run on their own, minor repairs seem to fix themselves, Scotty isn't sure what to make of it till they're hit with some space anomaly or other and for the first time ever, she's able to speak to them.

Scotty thinks he's gone made at first, but the Enterprise has kept the data and is able to explain it to him. It's bonkers, but there's no other explanation for any of it and there is definitely something happening with the ship. Sentience may as well explain it.

Scotty heads up to the bridge and tell the good captain that he's figured out what's going on.

"Fantastic news, Scotty. What is it?"

"Well, Captain,...I think it's probably easier if I show ya." Scotty gestures to the broad widow before them. "Ready when you are, lass."

Jim frowns, "Scotty, what are-"

Then on the display stands the image of woman with shifting features in an engineering uniform. "Hello, James," she says with a voice as shifting as her beautiful features. "I am the Enterprise."

Everyone on the bridge is completely still.

"Mr. Scott, explain," Jim says flatly.

"Well, sir. Y'know those old Earth ghost stories about how...believin' in something gives it power? There seems to be some truth to those. Our belief on the ship brought her to life, Jim. The power surge we experienced gave her the energy she needed to-" he gestures at the screen "-present herself more physically to us."

Jim shakes his head. "Those were just stories."

"Captain, you met the actual Greek God Apollo just a few weeks ago," Enterprise points out with a gentle smile.

"All legend and myth must start somewhere," Spock points out. "While superstitions may muddy the original truths of such tales, that does not discount them as impossible."

Jim turns to Spock, the most scientific mind he's ever known, in shock. "So you're totally okay with this? This is completely reasonable to you?"

Spock nearly shrugs. "We did meet Apollo few weeks ago, Captain. And there has been a belief long held that such deities are sustained by belief. I don't think we can rule out the possibility the creation of a similar consciousness through the means of collective belief. Especially given the evidence presented before us." He gestures the woman on the screen.

Jim sighs and returns his gaze to the Enterprise, and has a rare moment of being at a complete loss of words.

"This is too elaborate to be a prank and you know it," she tells him, a knowing look playing on her face. "Just accept what you know to be true, Jim. I'm real."

I'm playing a bit fast and lose with the canon timeline in this au cause let's face it the canon timeline is a mess and i'm just trying to have fun here.

The AU starts with Rainbow and Trixie being sent back in time. How, I don't know, it's not super important, maybe a messed up magical experiment, maybe Discord, maybe a weird phenomenon, anything goes. Point is that they're sent 1400 years back in time, to the Reign of Discord.

After spending a while bickering over who's fault this is (they do a lot of bickering, not gonna mention it every time so just assume they're always bickering), they try to set out and find their way home, weirded out at the chaos wastes they've ended up in. Eventuallu, they run into a group of important figures, either the founders or the pillars of Equestria, the specifics don't matter, but this is how they learn that they've ended up back in time.

Obviously freaking out, they eventually calm down enough to get the lay of the land and explain what's going on to the locals. They figure that finding Celestia and Luna would be the best shot at getting back home but weirdly none of the locals have ever heard of Celly and Lulu. Still, it's the reign of Discord so they gotta be around somewhere, and Rainbow happens to know that they're gonna get the elements of harmony from the Tree of Harmony, so just go there, wait for them, be home in time for dinner, no problem. Trixie is a bit doubtful of her confidence but hey, not like she has a better idea.

What follows is an epic quest as they make their way across the Chaos or Discord's reign with the help of locals, which would take at least another full post to explain so I'm gonna skip most of it. Point is, Rainbow and Trixie get some time to both bond and get really frustrated because finding Everfree is next to impossible when the world is all topsy turvy and directions don't make sense.

They eventually make it though, finding the cave with the Tree untouched by Chaos. Great, just gotta bunker down and wait for Celestia and Luna to show up, what could go wrong?

A lot, as it turns out. When they approach the tree, things happen. Maybe it senses potential in them, maybe its because they're time travelers and thus rather unusual, or maybe it's just cause theyre the first ponies who've made it this far and the Tree is low on options. Either way, the world is wildly out of balance and someone are needed to fix it and these two are as good as any.

In a bright light, Rainbow Dash and Trixie are ascended to alicornhood, their cutie marks changed into something more appropriate for the chosen guardians of Equestria's balance; a sun for Rainbow and a moon for Trixie.

Cue them freaking out for several hours because What The Fuck!?!?!

No time for that though because something like this has not gone unnotices by Discord. In a flash, he appears, curious about the two embodiments of Harmony in front of him. They're young so he could defeat them easily, but where's the fun in that? Instead, he wants to play with them a bit, taking their companions hostage so they'll play along.

This goes about as well as you could expect, Rainbow and Trixie may be confused and freaking out but neither take well to having their friends threatened. They confront Discord and, not really knowing what they're doing, use the Elements on him, ending his reign.

In the aftermath, they find themselves with a lot of ponies bowing to them, both strangers and ponies they met and helped out during their quest. Soon, it is pretty clear that they are being declared rulers of Equestria despite their objections. The people will accept no one else.

At the crowning, they are given regnal names. In a way, they chose them themselves. After all, they had both been quite insistant that Discord would be defeated by alicorn princesses named Celestia and Luna.

Over the years, they grow into their roles. Rainbow Dash's coat and mane is bleached by the sun she has found herself raising every morning, while the opposite happens to Trixie since she spends most of her time at night. Her eyes and magic color also changes as a result of her new magic. They both get into the flow of ruling a nation.

Throughout it, they of course don't give up on returning home, but experiment after experiment amount to nothing.

With time, their relationship also degrades. I mean, not like it's ever been good, I mentioned how they spend most of their time bickering, but with Discord defeated and them acclimating to their new situation, they no longer have more pressing issues distracting them from how much they REALLY don't get along. Trixie and Rainbow are hardly the most compatible of ponies in the best circumstances, and now imagine that but upped by hundreds of years. The only reason it doesn't happen sooner is because stuff like Sombra and Tirek pop up to distract them.

But Nightmare Moon does eventually happen. Afterward, Rainbow slips more and more into the Celestia persona. It's still a mask, something she puts on because she feels she has to, but without Trixie, there aren't a lot of ponies around who see her as anything other than the immortal dignified deity, so she spends more time being Celestia than she spends being Rainbow.

Eventually, the day she has marked on her calendar comes around, and she sees a huge rainbow spread across Equestria. It's fun seeing it from the outside, she so rarely has the chance to do it herself nowadays.

After 1500 years of life, tutoring a filly version of one of her best friends is still the weirdest thing she's been through.

It hurts seeing the mane six get together and be friends. She's happy for them, of course, but seeing her younger self laugh and be happy is a painful reminder that she will never be that pony again, her friends can never really see her as one of them again because even if she's still Rainbow Dash, she's also an immortal god empress and thats a rather big hurdle to overcome in a relationship.

With Trixie back at least, she starts letting the Celestia mask slip. Poor Twilight gets a heart attack first time she hears her mentor call Luna a bitch for taking the last slice of cake. With someone around who actually knows her as Rainbow and not Celestia, she can finally be her authentic self again, the mask becomes less something she wears all the time and more something she just puts on for court and lets slip in private. Those who know her are shocked at the change, but she seems happier than anyone has known her to have been for centuries.

She both dreads and looks forward to the day Twilight visits to tell her that Rainbow and Trixie have vanished. On one hoof, getting to finally drop the mask entirely and reveal who she is will be such a relief. On the other, how do you explain that their friend is both gone forever and standing in front of them?

Meanwhile Trixie has to be held back from having a threeway with her past self and Starlight.

The sight of coffee set by the table just comfirmed the welcoming scent. but.. the coffee wasn't the reason you got into the prosecutors office, was it?

The gentle ambience was broken by a familiar figure standing in front of the desk, grabbing a mug filled with coffee as he shook his head, glaring at you through his visor that showed the famous red strips. He raised an eyebrow, he hadn't been warned someone was comming up to his office, but despite that, he just seemed to smirk his confusion up.

“ Ah, What a suprise to see someone here. Would you want a cup of coffee? Don't mind the other 2 they dont bite either. ”

It seemed like he meant no harm. His eyes then fell on the other 2 people there alongside him. Another prosecutor and... Is that a detective alongside the 2 of them? Perhaps it is. The other prosecutor seemed rather skeptical to speak. But the detective seemed to just stick his tongue out towards you.

So, my 4-chapter long "Kirby grants two wishes to Morpho Knight" AU fic has been completed since last week, feel free to give that a read if you'd like! And I said it'd be my last fic for the year of 2023.

Meaning that I'll start on one of these fics in the year of 2024.

I... think I intend to do all of them, but I'm not sure which one I want to do next. Which is why I'm making this poll to see which might spark the most interest for people to look forward to!

These will all be long fics, I feel. They'll each certainly be much more than 4 chapters long.

Allow me to elaborate on the options:

A Tale Of Two Traitors: This will be a story about the friendship of Marx and Magolor. It'll go over the entire timeline of their dynamic: how they first met, how they became friends, how their friendship develops over time, etc. Expect their first-meet event to occur sometime between Milky Way Wishes and RTDL, as the later chapters will then cover after Star Allies and what I feel like is their modern dynamic in the modern day.

I do even have a post that summarizes my dynamic of these two, but voting for this option is a vote for having me write an entire fanfiction out of their dynamic that will cover a lot more details than what this post contains. We may also see several other characters make appearances in this big fanfiction, should I get to it first!

This story will occur in my headcanon universe, as it's not an AU like my "Lost Miracles That Finally Become" fanfiction was.

Dark Stormy Matters: This will take place in an Alternate Universe, similar to my "Lost Miracles That Finally Become" story!

In this story, Kracko undergoes a descent into full-on madness. His extreme disdain for Kirby simply boils over far too much to the point he does something absolutely insane in a desperate attempt to finally get back at the pink puffball that he's been holding a searing grudge against for so long. He willfully becomes an overarching megavillain.

He goes to outer space and makes a wish to a clockwork star to revive Dark Matter. Once Dark Matter revives, Kracko literally lets himself gets possessed by it, and becomes much bigger and stronger. Dark Matter becomes impressed and fond of the hatred that Kracko has inside of him, to the point that he even becomes Dark Matter's new leader! And now, Kracko and Dark Matter have fused together to this story's main antagonist, and as you can imagine, this monster is out to viciously attack Kirby and his friends.

Kracko's hatred is so great that even after fusing with Dark Matter, and due to becoming its new leader, his conscience is still present! His hatred for Kirby becomes even much stronger than it already was, and so he does everything possible to screw over the pink puffball out of spite. He attacks Popstar, he destroys Kirby's house, he attacks numerous other planets, and even personally antagonizes all of Kirby's friends (even ones that live outside of Popstar, such as Ribbon and Susie). He does all these things to try to upset Kirby and to emotionally destroy him by obliterating everything the pink puffball loves. Don't be surprised if this makes Kirby angrier than he's ever been before, especially when he realizes Kracko's motives here.

The Grand Alliance: Like the poll option said, this story will basically be my headcanon adaptation for Star Allies. I've got a bunch of headcanons as to how this plays out! This covers my interpretations of all the dream friends' personalities, and how they all come to join the alliance in stopping the Jambastion cult. Don't be surprised if there's infighting, considering that some dream friends... don't exactly get along very well with one another.

I wouldn't mind spoiling one thing: If you remember Star Allies has a quote for King Dedede saying "I'll be the one to keep the peace!'', he'll be doing that in the story. Dedede and Kirby will be the main ones trying to get all the other dream friends to cooperate, despite whatever beef may be present among them. And so you could imagine many instances of Dedede slamming his hammer onto the ground to enforce peace between two dream friends that don't get along. After all, there is little time for infighting when there's a huge creeping universal threat that everyone needs to take care of first!

Strawhat Real World Jobs

Yes Oda did give out alternate jobs for all the strawhats in an SBS but I will die before I accept Zoro as a cop and I have a few other quibbles and elaborations I'd like to put forth for Modern AUs. I want you to keep in mind that I'm writing this from a distinctly US American point of view so some of the job cultures may be slightly different to your locality.

Luffy- Firefighter: this one is correct. Luffy needs a job that is highly physical with low organization and intelligence requirements (sorry) This man is not going to college. He isn't a hero but there's no other legal way to get the adrenaline rush he needs. Also firefighters have a higher tolerance for fistfighting than other jobs, but not as much as construction. I think he could do construction labor if needed but I also think he would get bored. He would also be a PR nightmare as a professional athlete or wrestler. Could make it as a YouTuber but only if someone else edited his videos. Honestly YouTuber Luffy is your best choice if you want to preserve the feel of canon in a modern world.

Zoro- Cop: I'm sorry Oda but this is dumb as shit. Zoro would get asked to serve an eviction to a struggling mother of three or clear out a homeless encampment and quit on the spot. Or he would get into fights with other cops and get walled out and have to quit. He could still be a swordsman as a professional Kendo fencer? Athlete? Idk what they call those but he'd go on the pro circuit and absolutely decimate. He'd teach at a dojo in the off seasons. I'd also see him as an athletic trainer. I think Zoro could make it through college

Nami- Nursery School Teacher: While Nami is canonically very fond of children and quite good with them this feels like kind of a cop out. I think meteorologist suits her skills really well and I think she could kill it in the looks contest that weather anchors have to play.

Sanji- Stylist: I love this one so much. Idk what the original was but a stylist in the US refers to either a personal stylist which is a person who picks rich people's outfits or a hair stylist which is a person who cuts and styles hair, usually women's. Both jobs are associated with flamboyant gay men. He goes to his job and he gasses up women and calls men ugly for eight hours and then comes home and cooks Luffy dinner because he got texted a picture of the most fucked up eggs you ever did see that morning.

Ussop- Graphic Designer: I honestly have no notes. Yeah Ussop can hold down a steady job, and yeah it should be art focused. What is art but lying anyway?

Chopper- Grade School Teacher: This one is just so cute. He's got a childishness to him that makes kids like him and he has a soft caring personality that makes him good at his job. He can also be strict when he really has to. I agree Chopper would be a great elementary school teacher

Franky- Pilot: I guess? The thing is I think flying a plane for a job is both stressful and boring and I honestly don't think it suits him as well as say mechanic. I think Franky would be great as a mechanic souping up hot rods and doing weird custom jobs and he would be very entrenched in the local car scene. I also do just love mechanic characters

Robin- Flight Attendant: We all know this is just for Frobin reasons. And while the idea of a hand sprouting from your fold down tray to serve you your in flight meal is charming Robin deserves better than being Franky's beautiful assistant. The heater in Peter's apartment goes out on the coldest day of the year and the landlord seemed to be overrun with maintenance requests. Calling Tony to help him out seemed like the next logical solution. After all, he had told him many, many times that he should call him if he ever needed anything.  The man had never really specified what 'anything' meant but he figured that by definition, 'I'm cold and you know how to fix things.', fell into that category. Right?

Secret Sugarplum Spiderling [2020]

Peter has been taking ballet for nearly as long as he can remember and all of his hard work has finally paid off. He's been cast as the Cavelier to the Sugarplum Fairy in his Performing Arts School's production of The Nutcracker. It's a big deal and it's going to take up a good bit of time but... he's just not sure he's ready for his mentor to know about that particular hobby just yet. He's sure it'll be fine ... like,,,,,,,,,,,, Buck being caught up in something that may or may not be legal and as soon as the other side of the conflict finds out about John? using him against Gale? the absolute feral need to make sure John is safe vs the feral want to make sure no one ever touches what is his again? and, listen, I can’t imagine Gale would get involved with anything illegal if he has kids or w/e, but. his past catching up with him or smth? I just very much need feral Gale 😔🤡

YOU AND ME BOTH. okay yeah, the deeper plot points like that are definitely something i need to sort out because i really haven't decided yet how deep the biker thing is gonna go. obviously it's hard to base it off of the actual bikeriders movie since it's not out yet, and i'm very much not a car/bike guy LOL so that doesn't help me either.

so i'm still deciding whether i want to actually delve into biker gang stuff since it's really not my forte– i've always very much been a modern au/slice of life writer, so even just adjusting to following mota canon with my other fics has been crazy lmao.

half of me wants to just have gale be a part of a notorious biker group, not so much a gang. maybe some turf wars, a reputation around town, that sort of vibe, but not something that the whole plot is centered around, if you feel me.

i lean towards character/relationship centric writing and like to get in their heads wayyy more than i like to write action or intense scenes; much more of an emotional conflict over physical conflict enjoyer. but then at the same time i do love the classic trope of john being threatened/taken by a rival gang to get to gale, and gale losing his mind over it, and when he gets john back, being so scared of putting him in danger again that there's a whole arc where he pushes him out of his life entirely to keep him safe.

because feral gale is definitely something. half the time john wouldn't even be able to believe he's involved in the things that he is, because his gale is gentle and sweet with no temper to speak of. but then he only needs to see the steely cold look gale shoots someone who crosses him and he's reminded of how intimidating gale is to most people; it's just that john gets to see a side of him others don't.

and that reminder really sinks in again when john is taken by some people who want something from gale, and he watches gale absolutely destroy them in his rage over them hurting him, making damn sure they won't be getting up and walking around for a good long time.

it's an interesting concept to explore, but i'm gonna be so real, i just don't think plotting something elaborate like that out for the fic would hold my interest; my brain is so specific about what makes it tick lol. but i do think gale's past catching up to him would be something a lot more up my alley to tackle in fic, although knowing me it would be something less 'dangerous' and more angsty oops.

i like the idea of him kinda being vague about his past, and john being curious but not wanting to push because it seems to be something that still affects gale deeply, and maybe he finds out by accident, and maybe it's not a big deal, or it causes conflict between them, who knows. only future drafting–sam apparently lolll :-)

GOOD DAD DRAXUM AU GOOD DAD DRAXUM AU!!!! + Villain turtles (?)

So basically, what if Lou Jitsu didn't manage to snatch the turtles and they were raised by Baron Draxum

He's very very bad at parenting at first (he has exactly 0 knowledge on handling children)

Munnin and Huggin to the rescue!! (They don't know anything about parenting either but they do have something Barry lacks - common f-cking sense)

He was so happy his experiment worked out, he forgot to plan a bit ahead. In his mad scientist haze, he disregarded the fact he actually had to raise the specimens he made...

Actually their sentience was an accident! Draxum wanted mindless weapons (i physically cringed at that lol lfls gave me trauma), maybe pets, def not children. So at first he wasn't too happy with the outcome. But after realizing the possibilities their sentience opened, he was ecstatic, bragging to everyone that his experiment worked even better than planned.

He reads a lot of parenting books 👍

Barry has troubles with empathy, but he makes it up with a deep understanding of psychology and biology. He strives to bring out the most out of every turtle, so he tries to choose those training methods, that would actually WORK.

He read somewhere that children need physical touch at least four times a day to develop properly. He doesn't know what a hug is, so four times a day he just. Picks his children weapons up and holds them for a minute awkwardly. He eventually learned to be more casual when picking them up, but it took a while.

When the tots were still in their baby form, Draxum carried them on his shoulders instead of the gargoyles.

The tots really liked to sleep in the dog bed 🥺🥺 /bc of the fireplace/ Munnin and Huggin didn't mind, they either tried to squeeze themselves next to the turtles, or they just slept hanging upside down from something (like bats), keeping an eye on them.

They reclaim their bed happily when Draxum builds the tots a terrarium though.

Honestly those two go from evil henchmen to fulltime nannies in the matter of days and they enjoy it a lot, surpisingly.

The turtles enjoy Lou Jitsu movies very much, and they compare themselves to him all the time. He's basically their idol and they dream of meeting their DNA-dad. They idolize Lou even more than in canon, since they know that he's related to them from the get go.

Mike painted him on a cardboard. Now they have real life sized Lou Jitsu cardboard cutout just vibing around the house.

Draxum deems art an useless skill and a waste of time. So he and Mikey get into fights about it all the time.

Draxum may be emotionally distant, but he's much more interested in the boys' lives than Splinter ever was. Which, okay, it's good for the most part, but it shows to be problematic if his ideals don't align with the turtle's actions.

Donnie is his least favorite, only because he sees himself in the softshell too much and it makes him uncomfortable.

Mikey is his favorite, actually (because of the EXTREME potential he's hiding) but that just means he gets the most shit from Draxum, honestly.

The boys are muchhh much more rebellious and uh... morally questionable than in canon.

Remember lair games? Yeah. Remember when Leo accidentally caused Don to twist his ankle? Yeah. Let's just say, it wouldn't exactly be accidental in this AU.

Turtles have a deep dislike of humans, mostly caused by Draxum's views on them. They stick to the Undercity for the most part, unless they sneak out to NYC to cause some chaos. That's how they meet April, actually.

Yeah, they're not friends in this AU. Arch nemesis would be more accurate. Especially with Donnie. They hate each other with a burning passion.

"Stop mutating innocent citizens!!!" "Make me, hummie! (sfx: madman laugh)"

Yes turtles are personally involved in mutation of the villains from the show. I will not be elaborating.

Usagi and Gen are very important figures in this AU :DD probably as important as April and Splinter, honestly. (And i may or may not bring Jei into it as well... Still thinking about it)

So, I've got two ways this could go so far (though feel free to ask for more and I will happily come up with more)

The first is my Shirai Ryu Kuai Liang and co au

Kuai Liang and Harumi have been best friends since they were kids and have a very friendly but still competitive relationship, often challenging each other to see who can master a technique first, or who can do the most pushups in one go etc. Half the clan has money on them getting together at some point, there's really just debate on when.

Hanzo joins when he's about 15, it's the first time he's ever been away from home or learned any sort of kombat so understandably he struggles a bit with it. Kuai Liang is the first person to reach out to him, helping him figure out a technique during training before being called up by the teacher to demonstrate. As Hanzo watches Kuai Liang move through the technique like he was born for it, he starts to develop a bit of a crush.

He ends up sitting with Kuai Liang and his family during meal times, which is when he meets Harumi, who has just come back from her first training mission. She welcomes him to the clan and adds more food to his plate, concerned that he's too skinny, and spends the rest of the meal telling him jokes and trying to get him to laugh. Hanzo develops another crush.

So Hanzo's having a bit of a bi panic bc both ppl hot and nice to him and also he's seen them spar with one another now and holy jesus is That burned into his retinas, Meanwhile, Kuai Liang and Harumi are fighting over him, setting up a competition to see who gets to kiss him first.

Poor, flustered Hanzo then gets treated to the two of them flirting with him in increasingly elaborate ways and he is very confused but also NOT complaining as he tries to flirt back (the first time he makes an innuendo to Kuai Liang, the cryomancer short circuits until Bi-Han pours a bucket of water over him) (Harumi fairs no better when it is her turn)

Harumi ends up winning the competition when she and Kuai Liang go over to Hanzo's to play board games, but only by a handful of seconds bc Hanzo immediately kisses Kuai Liang as well so they call it a draw.

The conversation for setting up boundaries and ground rules for their relationship was surprisingly quick, as everybody was already on the same page with what they wanted it just needed to be verbalized.

Option number 2, Harumi comes back in the timequake (along with Satoshi bc I am not a monster):

Hanzo and Kuai Liang are already together by this point, but the moment Hanzo sees Harumi, Kuai Liang (being a tad self destructive) takes a step back, assuming that their relationship is over bc why wouldn't it be? (He's wrong but he assumes)

After Kronika is defeated and the timeline is fixed (not reset bc fuck that), Hanzo brings Harumi and Satoshi back to the Fire Gardens and they catch up on what has happened since they've been gone. He tells them about Kuai Liang, kinda worried about her reaction, but she just smiles and says she's glad he wasn't alone.

Harumi then asks when Kuai Liang is going to arrive so that the three of them can talk and figure out how this is going to work, and Hanzo says that he's actually not sure bc he hasn't had a chance to ask Kuai Liang about it (the cryomancer kinda vanished as soon as the timequake was settled to give them space and he hasn't shown back up since) and is surprised when Harumi calls him an idiot ("Of course he thinks you're dumping him, Hanzo! You didn't talk to him!" "Well there wasn't exactly time!" "Oh by the elder gods- Go talk to your boyfriend!")

Kuai Liang decided to hideout in his now empty temple and Hanzo refuses to let him stay there, threatening to drag him to the Shriai Ryu if he must. Once there, the three of them finally talk and hash out some boundaries and ground rules.

At first, Harumi and Kuai Liang are just planning to share Hanzo, as they don't know each other, but over time they spend more time together and slowly develop feelings for one another (Hanzo is watching from the sidelines and encouraging them and cheering bc getting to watch the two people he loves fall in love is a gift he'd never dared to dream he'd get)

Satoshi is a little confused at first bc he's like, 7, but mostly he's just thrilled to have another parent. Kuai Liang is not immune to Satoshi's puppy dog eyes like Harumi and Hanzo are, so he Literally cannot say no to him and Satoshi takes Full advantage of that fact.

OSSAS - full government name On Sea, Sunlight, and Sky - is, in short, my answer to the grand tradition of Skybound gap filler fanfic. It's a Nya-centric series set between "The Last Resort" and "The Way Back" in the gaping holes where her experience lurks. (More notes below the cut, spoiler free with a few broad content notes, because I don't want to clog anyone's dash - but I love to yap about my work.)

I would save this for later, but this is a pretty big disclaimer, so I'll start it here and elaborate in a bit: there is no Jay in OSSAS. That's probably the greatest difference between OSSAS and the more prominent Skybound rewrites you see bopping around, which tend to be HEAVY on the Jay and treat Nya as an afterthought. OSSAS is an experiment in what happens if we change camera angles. For my purposes, Jay is off on a beach somewhere with a tiny umbrella smoothie, taking a well-deserved break.

OSSAS is also my attempt to write the Skybound fic I wish to see in the world, because for a while there there was not very much variety, and I freely admit: I got bored! It felt like the same several tropes and trends on a permanent loop, and I could only take so much angst. So I noted what bored me so much and decided my best route was a hard U-turn. A few key differences between OSSAS and the most popular Skybound expansion works (aka what you may well be expecting of OSSAS) that I've seen are:

No gore. None. Nobody loses an eye. There are a few injuries and close calls, a few mentions of blood and sedatives and needles and guns, but generally everyone makes it through with clean clothes and all their limbs. (Generally. Trust me on this one.)

Also: no SA, hinted at or otherwise. The closest I ever come is a brief flashback mention of the infamous E62 ending shot and how that feels on Nya's end, but I never, ever go beyond what canon does. That canon compliance informs most of OSSAS, but comes across most strongly here. Is my Nadakhan still winning the Creepo Championships? Of course. That boundary crossing is a crucial part of his character, and I think it would be as boring a move to ignore it entirely as it would be to amp it up for the sake of drama as I've seen so many others do. Writing Nadakhan as close to canon as possible has been, and continues to be, a delightful puzzle. That does mean keeping the yuck factor - but it doesn't mean raising the rating or making up new crimes for him to commit. His existing ones give me plenty to work with. I've been told I write a pretty accurate Nadakhan, if that's any incentive.

As mentioned above: OSSAS is entirely Nya-centric. Jay gets a few more mentions early on (particularly in the first installment, which was originally meant as a standalone. however, that let me set up a fun system of tapering his influence off when I decided to turn it into a series!), and I'm working to balance that out with everyone else on the team, but that's just set dressing. Nya, and the gaps in her experience, are the foundations of this series, which leads to a final difference:

There are no rewrites of onscreen moments if I can avoid it! A few flashbacks break this rule, but I try to keep it as vague as I can. A tradition I've noticed in Skybound fic is to take existing scenes - such as Scrap 'n Tap, which is probably the most common version of this - and soup them up. More action, more detail, more dialogue... that's all well and good, and done well, I do love it! However, I'm trying to stay so close to canon plausibility that I'm hesitant to mess with those moments. The Hageman Bros already said what they said; I would rather pull threads to weave over the gaps than spin new ones, if that makes sense.

That's about as much as I can say about OSSAS without venturing into spoiler territory - I hope you check it out! I know you asked about another Skybound playlist of mine earlier, so I'm including a link to my official OSSAS Playlist as well if you'd like to sample that first.

These songs either reflect the general mood, hint at specific plot points, or are what gave the different installments their names! I'm always happy to explain why I picked any of them, so feel free to ask - but I would recommend you read the series first.

A final note: OSSAS updates once per year, generally in/around December, and this year is the series' grand finale - so now is, genuinely, a fantastic time to get caught up. Slenderman and eyeless jack live within the same woods, with slenderman having his oldass mansion (fight me, im adding the mansion to the au, but its not going to be nearly as extravagant and cozy as the fanon) and eyeless jack with his little cabin

Slenderman is the only real permanent resident of the manor; anyone who comes to live inside it are usually temporary. Be that because its them choosing to leave, or they are forced to leave and are no longer welcome. Though I think Slenderman would have a fair amount of leniency, given the fact that's he's seen it all. So save for a few people or behaviors, his door is open

Even Hoodie and Masky don't live with him, since they still have their own... autonomy..? To an extent they're still Brian and Tim, living fairly normal lives until the big man needs them to do his dirty work

The closest that lives with him is Kate; who's in proxy mode all of the time. Downside, she's not fully loyal to Slenderman. Actually she's not fully loyal to anyone, and she rarely ever enters the mansion. Rather, she's running off doing her own thing in the woods. Just a feral person, really. That's not to say she isn't dangerous or unintelligent, though. She may be aggressive and reclusive but she knows how to lure in people and set up traps

That's about it on Kate; I'm still building up what I want her character and role in the au to be, and honestly? I forgot who she was for a hot minute <\3

Ben doesn't have a physical body, most of the time. I'll elaborate more on that in a second.

Basically, he's more or less completely bound to electronics, and can only really interact with people through it. Good news is he can hop from device to device, though I'm still working out the limitations of that... usually hangs out in Jeff's old ass flip phone.

Yes it's specifically a flip phone, doesn't matter the brand. Reason is is because I think it'd be funny if Ben and Jeff got into an argument and Jeff just. Shuts it when Ben is mid sentence

Moving on, Ben and Jeffs whole thing is meant to work as an anti/opposite to the jane and laughing jill plot; two characters partnering up against one another for their own goals

Also I think Ben and Jeff have a cool friendship

Admittedly I don't have any romantic ships, so those are likely going to be few and far between in the au; but I do want to explore different dynamics and such if I ever make this into a proper story

So that includes characters like jeff, jane, nina, tim/masky, brian/hoodie, kate, ect ect ect

And to an extent, eyeless jack, though due to his curse he ages a little slower

So, they're all adults!

Jane, jeff, and nina are 23, 24, and 22 (respectively)

Tim and Brian are both in their early 30s, and Kate is roughly 27

Eyeless Jack physically is about 25, but mentally he's not much older

Main reason for the time skip is because I SUCK at writing kid/teen characters 😭😭 so unless someones a ghost kid or something, assume they're an adult

An Update

Hey all, Scott here!

I understand the silence for comic-making has been a bit... long as of late. Things may continue to be a little inactive for a while on that front, but I do have some news that may excite you.

Slowly, I'm moving the Marlette comics to ComicFury!

This means a lot of things for this little AU. So, below, I'll detail exactly what will happen with this change and why I've come to this conclusion.

Why ComicFury?

Truth be told, uploading the comics to Imgur isn't very fun. For one, if I need to fix a typo, I have to upload the image, resort the album in order to place it correctly (which in itself can take a few minutes, depending on the size of the comic AND the visuals for the panel), and delete the old image. There's no "update image" button. This is, frankly, really elaborate in ways that frustrates me. That's why the ol' "lense" typo from Tape 1 still exists...

There's the ability to add captions for each panel, but I can't visually separate an author's note for clarifying something, versus making a transcript. I've never written them for the comics, but I do want to to help make things more accessible. Without the visual and even technical distinction between them, I fear it might make things a little frustrating for more than just me.

Changing hosts from Imgur to ComicFury will help alleviate the issues I've described. I can add author notes to certain pages, and I can add transcripts easily! That way, things are so much better for everyone.

How long will this take?

Ever since I've uploaded the comic, Magic, I've been working on the site in quiet. I initially wanted to host it on Neocities for its custom layout, but after seeing the rather complex systems for comic hosting I've seen, it deterred me for a while. Then, I realized... hey, one of my favorite Undertale AUs is hosted on ComicFury, and they also have a custom layout! And looking into its system, it has systems that very closely resemble something I've been wanting and looking for.

All of this to say, the website should be complete very soon! It's very close to completion, though I still have much to do. I have to finish coding the looks of the website. Everything looks roughly the way I want to right now, but there's small little touches I'd like to add. At most, this will take a month, and at least, it might be out this week!

What does the site look like right now?

The page that displays the comic will have a border if your resolution / window size will support it. If it's smaller, don't worry, the border can disappear for optimal reading experience!

The sidebar holds important information about the comic, a search bar to look for specific pages, and a section that holds other AUs one may be interested in. There might be more information here in the future... who knows!

For now, that's all I have to show. I hope this makes up for the silence I've been giving. I'll make a post when the website is ready.

Unwound Future! Though considering my favorite PL character is Claire that shouldn't come as a surprise haha

3) What’s your favourite soundtrack?

The plvpw soundtrack is my favorite! I listen to the AA soundtracks a lot (especially the ones from the 2D games) and I really like how it's used in Ace Attorney. The plvpw OST is a lot like DGS's -- I constantly had the DGS themes stuck in my head while playing plvpw, especially the Logic/Trick one and the cross-examination one. And I really like DGS's soundtrack (it's my favorite of the AA soundtracks for 3D games) so

5) What’s your favourite setting? (Misthallery, Monte d’Or, etc…)

Misthallery is really pretty, I want to paint it someday. I'm also fond of Future London and its fucked up architecture <3

"I'll miss you...and our unwound future" is forever going to live rent-free in my mind, but it makes me cry, so I don't think I can consider it a favorite >_<

17) Do you have any headcanons? If yes, what?

I do a lot of headcanoning! I have some Claire backstory stuff that I've been fleshing out for a one-shot I've been writing as well as for an AU I might post some details on,,,, someday? So I won't elaborate on those. I also have a Barnham backstory that I came up with because I was working on a pre-canon character study for Darklaw and had to figure out how he ended up in Labyrinthia. I also have a variety of queer hcs! I guess my most esoteric one is that Alfendi's aro (both alters, but host is aroallo and alter is aroace; he and Hilda were aroallo4aroallo pre-Forbodium). Also I know it's a little controversial to headcanon robots as aro but...Aurora aro agender. also Henry and Angela are both arospec. this really became the "aro headcanons" section huh. well I'm aro and I like making characters aro so

Some other general headcanons: Layton likes having his hair played with, but only while it's short -- he hated it as a teenager; he and Claire used to go back and forth making up random things a true gentleman/proper lady does (I've said this one before here but); Layton's favorite tea is Earl Grey but after a certain time he only drinks chamomile; Luke was in vet school when anime events happened; Angela always got a lot of valentines in Stansbury despite being taken (I may or may not write a fic about this,,, I do have about a month, but still...); Targent didn't come for Des and his family until a couple years before Last Specter -- while it would have taken time for him to build the Excavation Mecha and the Detragant I don't think he lost them that long pre-canon

19) Do you prefer the 2D art or the 3D art?

2D by far! Miracle Mask lagged my laptop hard when I was playing it and ruined some of the experience for me. AL and plvpw weren't laggy but I still generally prefer the 2D. plvpw has the best 3d models though for both PL and AA

23) Has the series had an impact on your life?

I mean, I've only been here for what, three months? It's had an impact so far on me, but I guess I'll see.
