[Cappu-or-Treat - CW: None]
"Trick-or-treat!" Rang the excited crowd outside of the prosecutor's door.
The sound of cheerful kids and adults out and about nearly made Cappuccino slam his head into the wall next to him. This was one of his only vacation days, yet he was spending it handing out cheap candy to people in shoddy costumes bought at the last minute. Heading to the door of his rental home, he'd grab the bowl he left on a small stand- accidentally knocking over a couple of empty cappuccino cups- and open the door.
Immediately, he was met with shrill cheers from a crowd of kids that made his head hurt worse than staying up this late already did. "Yea, yea- take your candy guys!" Though bitter, he'd still try to at least force a playful form of disdain, even if it was laced with too much of the real thing. "Happy Halloween, guys! Stay out of trouble, or I'll prosecute you personally!" This fact was only half-true. At this point, Cappu feels like he could sue for emotional distress against this entire holiday. Ugh… he does not want to think about all the hoops he'd have to jump through to sue a recognized holiday.
Closing the door behind him, Cappuccino wouldn't even make it halfway across the room before getting another knock at his door. It took nearly all the strength the prosecutor had in him not to just keep walking and ignore the knocking. Though, if he did, there would just be more knocks and more annoyances. And if the parents were stupid enough, Cappu himself would be taken to court for 'unfair treatment' in handing out candy. People these days will cause legal trouble for any reason imaginable. Turning back around and opening the door with a forced smile, the people on the other side of the door would strike fear into Cappuccino. A nearly perfect trio of costumes- a highly customized card set. Queen of hearts, king of clubs, ace of spades…
Langue de Chat… being the Ace with a Jack of Diamonds in their headpiece... with their parents. "Trick-or-treat!" The three of them would chime together. "Oh, right, uh-" Cappuccino reached over and grabbed the bowl he forgot he left back where it usually was. He was absolutely not presentable. Hair greasy and knotted, attire a far cry from what he'd wear in court. Hell, he wasn't even in costume! For someone who didn't really care much about this holiday, being presented like this in front of people so important made him entirely conscious of his lack of Halloween appeal.
And yet here Langue was, probably in a costume made by their family to match the three of them. They probably got to pick the theme and materials and everything… Slept so well at night knowing how well the costume would turn out. They likely even got to pick the best area to go trick-or-treating in, getting as much candy as-… Wait. Cappuccino would wind up staring Langue in the eyes as he handed out candy. "You know this is one of the worst places to go trick-or-treating at, right…? Most people around here can barely pay their rent." Unknowingly, he handed out a second piece to Langue… or was that on purpose?
"I know that! You think I didn't research into what places gave out the most candy before we came out here?" Langue would laugh, embarrassing the prosecutor more than his appearance being seen by their parents did. "I chose to come out here to see you. Once we're done trick-or-treating, I was hoping to spend some time with you…" Even while he looks like this? "I know it's sudden, and I had to beg my parents to let me stay so late, but… it's Halloween! I'm staying up late anyways, so may as well make the most of it, huh?" May as well… ha. This defense attorney doesn't know the meaning of 'staying up late' if they seem so happy about it. Even so, with a wobbly smile, the sleep-deprived mess would wind up agreeing.
"I'll clean my place up for you. I mean, it's-" Cappu glanced between the parents that stood behind Langue- "It's already fairly clean, I just need to put away some documents and do a little dusting! I'll, uh. I'll see you later, right?" "Yes! It should be in… about two hours? Trick-or-treating for this area only lasts three hours." That long? Cappuccino didn't want to deal with kids for two whole hours… But if he was to be rewarded with time with Langue de Chat of all people, how could he refuse a challenge like that? Maybe he'll be able to scrounge together a costume in that amount of time, too. "Oh, right, I also need to give you this." The prosecutor perked up, watching as Langue ever so delicately plucked the jack of diamonds from out of their hair and handed it over to him. "We were planning on having one of my cousins trick-or-treat with us, but they got too busy, so… Tomorrow, if you'd like, you can come with us to the other place we plan on going for candy collection. We'll have your costume set up and everything." "Oh! I- sure!" Cappuccino would flush at the offer, taking the card in hand and failing to hide how flattered he was at the offer. He cleared his throat, trying to keep his cool prosecutor demeanor to prevent himself from looking more like an embarrassment in front of the guardians in front of him. It was already too late, but he could at least try to clean up some of the mess. "We can discuss this more once you're done trick-or-treating. I don't want to hold you guys up for too long."
It was surprisingly easy to get the three to move along with that sentiment. The prosecutor would sigh and turn back, closing the door and looking to the card in his hand. Should he laminate this? This felt much more special than he was making it out to be, but… Having not celebrated Halloween for years, and finally being able to with someone so important to him… No, yeah, this is going in lamination. A little 'thunk' was enough to snap the prosecutor from his thoughts. Another cappuccino cup had fallen from somewhere. It was at this moment that Cappu realized that he REALLY needed to clean the place up. He needed to clean himself up, too. As much of a chore as it would be… this place should at least look livable for visitors. Especially if that visitor is Langue de Chat. Well… Cappuccino took a deep breath, setting the candy bowl down and turning off the porch light. Time to get to a different kind of work.

Hey! I'd love to have a serious reading if you have time! No worries if not 😊
Let's go with 12
I am Heather 🌸🌺🟣
I just told you that I have time! I'd be delighted to give you a reading. :)
Two of you actually requested deck 12 at once, so I guess the other person is getting a sneak peek at what's to come. This deck is the Halloween Tarot, and it's a cute one!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmm. This kind of makes me feel like you might be having a rough time, and if that's true, I'm sorry to hear it.
The Lovers, when reversed, indicates a deep sense of disharmony in your life. This is typically found between you and your loved ones, but that's not always the case. It could be disharmony between you and your friends, you and your neighbors, you and your coworkers -- hell, it could even indicate a disharmony with yourself. Personally, I think that last one is the one to watch out for most.
If there's a struggle here, I think it's time to take stock. It's good to think about your relationships every so often, and deeply. What do you love about this person, and what do you hate? Are those feelings fair? Is this relationship serving you the way it should? If someone is being unkind to you, it's okay to pull away from them. But sometimes you just need to think about why you got into this relationship in the first place, and whether those good experiences outweigh the bad.
If this is a relationship with someone that you can't get away from (say, a coworker or yourself), then I think it's still good to think deeply about this. What can be strategies to build the gap, or at least learn to cope with a bad situation? Are you being unkind to yourself, and how might you better come to understand your own needs?
Again, I'd really like to emphasize that this card can be about a discordance with yourself, especially considering the cards to come. Maybe you don't understand your own needs right now, or maybe you're being needlessly cruel to yourself, or maybe you're in denial about why you're doing something. I don't know.
I think an open line of communication is key, regardless. Talk to those around you or have a good heart-to-heart with yourself. Try to think through things carefully and make the decision that's best for everyone. Just don't avoid the problem! That's the worst thing you can do.
If you manage to do all that (easier said than done, I know), the Star is waiting for you. The Star is a card that's about the rainbow after the storm, so to speak. It's a card that speaks to self-fulfillment as a result of courage and faith. Basically, good things will come to you if you reach out and grab them. Shitty things may be happening now, but there's a chance for self-growth here and a sort of enlightenment that can only come from truly working through your problems and understanding yourself. What I'm saying is... keep your head up and your eyes clear. Do your best to work through the discordance in your life and what's on the other side will be really, really good for you.
Finally, we have the Two of Swords. That indicates that you've found yourself at decision time. We have a problem, we have a likely positive outcome far in the future -- but you can only get there if you make some tough decisions now. I know it sucks, but I reiterate: the worst thing you can do right now is avoid your problems. You need to face them head-on and really deeply consider what you want, what you need, and how to improve whatever relationship is ailing you.
I guess, altogether... shit's hard. It's really hard. You're in turmoil, maybe, and things seem like they won't ever get better. So maybe it's time to stop, really analyze your options, and make a decision. One way or another, you'll feel much better after you've addressed the issue and taken steps to improve it.

Admit You Did It
Hanemiya Kazutora x GN!reader
In which reader has had enough of Kazutora’s delusions before Bloody Halloween.
Warnings: gaslighting, manipulation.
Genre: Angst
Note; I heard the sound ‘I’ve had enough’ on Tiktok and Kazutora came to mind.
Tumblr media
“Join me and Baji, Y/n.” A hand reached out, extending towards the fallen Y/n. Blood oozing from the injury they pertained from Baji himself as he hit them over the head with a splintered bat.
The plan was to kidnap Y/n after knocking them unconscious and coerce them into joining the two in Valhalla, empty promises and emotionally manipulative responses at the ready. What they didn’t calculate was how stubborn Y/n was when they had to be. Y/n was resisting the urge to close their eyes and pass out in their presence.
A mocking laugh escapes Y/n’s mouth as they smack Kazutora’s hand away, staggering slightly as they stood up. Spitting blood out on Baji’s white shoes as they glared at him, outwardly unfazed by his betrayal but ripping themselves away from the inside at the deceit.
“I’d never do that to Toman.” Their voice was stern. Y/n was undeniably loyal to Toman, especially after all that Mikey has done for them. He helped them pull themselves up during the worst downfall they had experienced, Mikey always had their back and they would have his.
“You’re nothing but Mikey’s dog, Y/n.” Baji scoffed, crossing his arms against his chest as he tried to shift the attention away from his wavering eyes. The words he was spewing clawing away at him. “You know he would never see you the same after the incident.”
A cold rush went through Y/n as they were reminded of the horrid day, hands shaking before they clenched them. Anger surged through their being as they pointed an accusatory finger at Kazutora who looked at Y/n blankly, eyes wide and manic.
“You don’t get to say that, you don’t get to say that when we were both manipulated into the situation because of him.” The disdain in their voice was heard, figure trembling with anger and frustration.
“We all went there, Y/n. You had the weapon and-”
“You grabbed the weapon out of my hand to attack Shinichiro-san!” Y/n interrupted, borderline yelling in the empty alleyway where they blindly followed Baji.
“Stop this blame game, Y/n. The three of us are the same, we have to stick together because we all know Mikey will never accept us knowing we were the reason his brother died.” Baji narrowed his gaze on them, Y/n glaring back.
“Mikey forgave us Baji, it wasn’t our fault and Toman’s our family.”
“You may think he forgave us but you don’t see the look he has when he thinks we’re not looking.”
“N-no I don’t believe you, Mikey’s not like that.” Y/n began to rack their brain for any moment that seemed odd with Mikey, coming up empty but overthinking the situation.
“We can be together again, Y/n. It can be like before I went to juvie, we can be together like we were meant to be. We’ve been through that situation together, we both have blood on our hands. It didn’t change any feelings I hold for you.” Kazutora gave them a soft smile, the clanking of the bell in his earring echoing as he tilted his head to the side. “When have I ever left you alone? Well, aside from juvie of course.”
Y/n felt their mind swirling with unwanted emotions, the logical part of them had a vague idea of what the two were trying to do, but the emotional part of them wanted to reach out and pull Kazutora into a hug. He was a big part in their life and they were a big part of his, especially when he wanted to run away from his broken family. Their relationship was a dependent one, one like Mikey and Draken’s, before everything got torn apart.
It wasn’t that they cut ties after the incident, the sweet letters would keep coming biweekly throughout his time in juvie and Y/n would always be elated to read them, writing letters back with Baji.
Unconsciously, Y/n took a step forward, eyes dazed and glazing over with happy memories of the two of them.
Baji was internally screaming at Y/n to leave, he wasn’t sure if they were really falling for Kazutora’s manipulation and he wanted them to stay away from the male due to fears of breaking Toman further.
Kazutora had his arms open, a grin forming as he saw Y/n’s emotional conflict. They slumped in his arms, body twitching from every emotion as Kazutora wrapped his arms around them. Y/n’s arms stayed at their side, eyes open and void of emotion.
“I missed you, you know?”
Y/n’s breath hitching at those words as tears pricked at their eyes, “T-tora.”
“I’m here.”
“I’m here, Y/n.” The voice of Mikey sounded as Y/n looked up from their fetal position on the floor. The room was dark, the floor dusty. Y/n punished themselves by laying on the floor, depriving themselves of comfort and basic necessities, they felt unworthy.
Mikey saw the tears that were dripping from their chin and sighed, sitting across them. Y/n sat up on their knees, fists clenched on their thighs before leaning forward in a dogeza position. Mikey flinched in surprise and tried urging them to get up.
“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!”
The sobbing and raw apologies from Y/n had Mikey gulping down the lump in his throat as he pulled them up by their arms and pulled them into a hug, letting them feel comfort through his warmth. The erratic breathing and constant apologies being shushed by him as he gently rocked both of them.
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“I was there!”
“It wasn’t your fault.”
Another choked sob escaped Y/n as Mikey rubbed their back. “I don’t deserve to be in Toman, please kick me out.” Mikey gritted his teeth at the words that came out of their mouth, clenching the back of their shirt in his fists.
“Don’t say that! You belong in Toman, Toman is your family and we all need you! I forgive you, you were never to blame. You were dragged there. Baji told me everything and both of you are forgiven.”
“Toman is your forever home.”
Y/n was shaken out of their memory as Kazutora began leading them out of the alleyway. They pushed his arms away from them and backed up, glancing at the two people they held dear to their heart. Gulping as this was probably goodbye.
“Toman is my forever home.” Y/n repeated Mikey’s words, “Mikey can hate me in secret all he wants but I’ll stay his loyal dog if I have to, it’s the least I can do.”
“You’re making a mistake, Y/n!” Kazutora yelled, frustration creeping up on him. The intrusive thought of Mikey taking his Y/n away from him creating a deeper hatred for the male. “No, Kazutora. You and Baji are making the mistake.” Y/n stated.
“He’s taking you away from me!” Kazutora yelled, hand clenching the fabric around his chest. “He saved me!” Y/n yelled back.
“You can stop being his dog when I get rid of him! Everything will be back to normal then, we’ll be happy!” A manic grin splayed on his face, his hands clenching tighter on the fabric of his shirt.
“You’re not hurting Mikey on my watch.” Y/n seethed, glaring daggers into the male they were tied to emotionally.
“I thought juvie would have you matured but I guess not.” Y/n scoffed as they turn away from Kazutora, “Mikey this, Mikey that, just admit you did it, we all know you did it!”
Kazutora’s eyes widened, “we were there for Mikey, we were together. Mikey’s fault, its Mikey’s fault.” He murmured.
“You pressured Baji and I into going with you, stop lumping us together. It would have been easier if you admitted it to yourself instead of gaslighting me and Baji.” Y/n scoffed, “last chance, Baji. Better make use of that head of yours.”
“I was always on Kazutora’s side. We all know what happened that night.”
Y/n clicked their tongue in disappointment, “keep feeding his delusions then, Baji.”
“I’ll see you two on October thirty-first.” Y/n took one last look at the two delinquents, lingering on Baji in hopes of him changing his mind before taking off towards the shrine.

Damian’s POV
The bright colorful lights from the club were making me feel dizzy after hearing the news. Suddenly, the loud beat of the music was annoying instead of relaxing, and I could feel a massive headache approaching. How in the fuck did this happen? How did I, as a demon, not see this coming? How am I supposed to lie to my boss? I can’t stand lies! I NEVER lie! That fucking moron couldn’t hold it back for one night, could he? Now the jackass is dead and I have no soul to take back with me to Hell. You know what this means, right? Yeah, it’s the beginning of my worst nightmare…..
Cozbi’s POV
I took a deep breath inside my brand new Bugatti, inhaling the scent of the leather like a junkie with a fix. One more successful trial done, another bad guy free. That's my job, to free scumbags from prison and make buckets of money while doing so. My parents weren’t very proud of my career choice but hey, that’s their problem! You can’t decide to name your kid ‘Cozbi’ and be innocent enough to think that she’ll become someone with good intentions! Cozbi Kavaden is a name that has become well known by mob bosses, professional hitmen and drug dealers. And that’s because I have the guts to do what no one else can, by looking straight into the eyes of judges I can affirm with all certainty that my client is innocent AND be successful about it. Is it occasionally a lie? Yes. Do I make a lot of money telling lies? Yes. Do I care about it? No. Do I care about the truth? Fuck no! I care about the next pair of heels I want to buy and if they’re comfortable, that’s what I care about. And baby, that’s the beauty of living the dream….
Damian’s POV
“The boss wants to see you” Keith stated as soon as I stepped foot inside the gates of Hell.
“She knows the news already?” I groaned, while making eye contact with my best friend
“She’s THE Devil, Damian” He chuckled “She knows EVERYTHING. Just like the All Mighty upstairs does”
I sat down on one of the black velvet couches in the waiting room, and Keith quickly sat by my side.
“What were you thinking, man? You KNEW you had to keep an eye on that human. You KNEW he was trouble and yet you went partying in Vegas?” Keith shook his head in disapproval while chuckling
“How did you know I was- Sheamus” I growled “Can’t that soulless ginger mind his own business?”
Keith laughed loudly “None of us have a soul, remember? He’s not the only one without it”
“You know what I mean” I sighed “Do I need a babysitter now?” I stood up, and walked over to the bar to grab myself a drink, because with my fucking luck - I’ll need one.
“Boss just wanted to make sure the human was being taken care of”
“And she had to send Sheamus? Why didn’t she send you or Drew?”
“He offered himself up”
I huffed “Of course he did” And after taking a sip of my Vodka, I asked “And since when do humans need a babysitter? We don’t put guard dogs to watch out for the trash, do we?”
“No, but you KNOW that Jack was the most reckless of the humans. If he wasn’t taken care of, the inevitable would happen and well...it did!”
“I don’t need you to remind me that he’s dead every two fucking minutes, Keith. I know, that’s why I’m here” I said with an annoyed tone
“So let that sink in, brother. Because knowing the Boss, your punishment will be the equivalent of a nightmare in Hell”
“Damian” Shotzi called from the door “The Boss is ready to see you now”
And for the first time in my eternal life, I crossed myself before walking into her office.
Cozbi’s POV
I was waiting for the light to turn green when my phone rang. Looking at the dashboard screen, I saw my assistant’s name and groaned.
“Not you again” I sighed, before accepting the call “What?”
“Dr. Kavaden” She said quickly “There’s someone looking for you-”
“I don’t have the time for that now, Nikki” I spat
“But they said it’s urgent-”
“I don’t give a fuck! I’ve had a long day at the courthouse, Mr. Stubbs’ trial is finally done, so I’m going home right now to enjoy my Egon Müller, Scharzhofberger Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 2005”
“I-I don’t know what that means, ma’am” She mumbled
“Of course you don’t!” I rolled my eyes at the screen before hanging up on her
The light turned green and I floored it, not paying too much attention to my surroundings. What pulled me back to reality was the sound of a loud honk followed by glass crashing...that’s when everything went dark.
Damian’s POV
“Boss” I greeted her with a smile
“Drop the charm, Damian. And sit down” She said while nodding for Keith to come in.
I did as she said and looked up at her “So, what’s my punishment?”
“What a drastic change” She laughed, and placed a file on top of her glass desk
“You’re going to be ruthless with your punishment, I’ll have to suck it up and take it, so why sugarcoat it?” I shrugged.
“Ok, straight to the point, I like that. '' She pointed at me and began rambling “As we all know, Jack had an overdose in one of those trash parties he used to go to, and now he’s dead. As a soul negotiator, you know the policy. Any human that either gets killed, commits suicide, dies tragically or sudenly while the deal is still valid, cannot be collected on since the contract hasn’t expired yet. Jack’s soul was priceless to us because he was self centered, arrogant and a liar, therefore his punishment in Hell would have been delightful“ She smiled “Emphasis on ‘would have been’ because now thanks to you, he’ll never come through our beautiful iron gates, and why is that Damian?” The smile died on her lips.
“Because I fucked it up”
“Because you fucked it up! You knew what you had to do, what your job was and still you didn’t do it, Damian. Which makes me wonder why? You always have been our top shelf guy and now all you care about are parties, women and booze“ For a minute her harsh mask fell and worry could be seen in her blue eyes “What’s going on with you? Why are you acting like this?” She leaned forward and caressed my face
“I don’t wanna talk about it”
“Damian, you’re starting to worry me”
“Stephanie, I don’t want to fucking talk about it! Drop it!” I growled, and she took a step back.
“Fine” She said nonchalantly “Since you want to drop it, let’s talk about your punishment then” Stephanie opened the file on top of her desk and I stared at the picture of a woman.
And a gorgeous looking woman at that! Dark hair, curvy body, formal clothes...Probably a lawyer. Those are the worst kind of humans, pathological liars, deceivers, only interested in money. Unlike my own morals, they put a price on truth. I value the truth more than anything in my life, therefore I despise them with a special brand of hatred.
“This is my punishment? A stunning woman?” I laughed
She smiled at me before answering “Damian, meet Dr. Cozbi Kavaden. She’s a criminal lawyer and your brand new wife for the next 300 years”
“A defender of fucking criminals as a wife?” I began to laugh hysterically “You’re kidding, right?”
“No, I’m not. Go take a shower and change those filthy clothes. Your wife is waiting for you at the hospital” She sat down in her chair and dismissed me “You can leave now”
“I’m not going anywhere! I hate liars and you know that! Now you want me to fucking marry one? Nuh uh, not happening. You can’t do this!”
“It’s already done. Now go, I have work to do”
I kicked the chair by my side, yelling out: “This is bullshit!” before bursting out the door.
Before I left, I heard Keith asking her something, to which she only responded:
“In the end it will all make sense, Keith. You’ll see that sometimes in life, not everything is what it seems”
Cozbi’s POV
The smell of alcohol, sanitizer and the beeping of a machine were what woke me up. The bright lights of the room hurt my eyes and made my head pound. My throat was drier than the desert, and my whole body hurt.
When my head stopped spinning, I was able to open my eyes and stare at the white ceiling.
“Hello sunshine” A man spoke by my side
Slowly turning my head towards the voice, I saw a tall man standing there and fuck, he was breathtaking! Warm and playful brown eyes, tanned skin, tattoos, cheeky smile, two colorful braids in his long, curly black hair, fit body and certainly not a male nurse, by the looks of his leather pants and black tank top.
“Who are you?” I groaned with a raspy voice
He poured some water in a glass and handed it to me
“Drink it slowly. The nurse said you can’t have too much water for now”
I took a sip before asking “And who are you?”
“Me? I’m your husband, mami” He gave me a wooing smirk
“What the fuck?” I frowned, before throwing my glass at him “HELP!”
TO BE CONTINUED
Please, if you’re comfortable with it, let me know your thoughts on this? Feedbacks are always appreciated ❤️😘

Halloween
This is a throwback and may be the first Erik-ish fic I wrote more than two years ago.
Reader (like me), isn’t a fan of Halloween, her boyfriend tries to change her outlook.
NSFW, boo.
Tumblr media
I hate Halloween; you thought to yourself angrily as you woke up on the morning of October 31.
You had a bad experience when you were younger and had been scarred ever since. Your boyfriend Jason loved it, though, especially after Black folks decided we'd make Halloween all about the culture. He was excited about his costume but refused to share what it was. He said it was a surprise and would make you have a heart change about Halloween. You doubt that highly. One of his best friends threw a big party every year, so you were headed there tonight.
Thankfully it was Saturday, and you didn't have to rush to get yourself together after work. You wanted to have lunch with Jason because you knew even though you'd be at the party together tonight, he'd be too excited to pay you much attention.
————
"Hey babe, you wanna grab some lunch with me?"
"Aww, I'd love to, but I have to put some final touches on my costume."
"Really?! I haven't seen you all week Jason," you whined.
"I know, baby, but I gotta finish this. I promise I'll make it up to you tonight."
"Ok, fine," you said, disappointed, and hung up.
You waited until the last minute to decide what to be for Halloween because you and your boyfriend usually coordinated what you'd wear, but because he was being so extra this year and didn't want you to know who he was going as, you had to figure things out on your own. By the time you made it to the Halloween store, the only thing left in your size was the cliche slutty French maid costume. You bought it without trying it on and went on with your day. You were out later than anticipated, so you had to get home and get ready quickly. As you were putting on makeup, you heard your phone buzz. It was a text from Jason.
Hey baby, I'm running behind, so I won't be able to pick you up. I'm sorry. Text me when you're ready to leave, and I'll have an Uber pick you up and bring you.
He was really annoying you today.
You arrived to the party about an hour later and was surprised to see the mansion was already packed with people. You picked up your phone to call Jason but saw that you didn't have service. You walked around for a while, observing the detail in the partygoers’ costumes. A blue Avatar and headless horseman caught your eye and impressed you. After looking for Jason for much longer than anticipated, you decided to stop at one of the bars to get a drink. As you stood in the line, a rough tug at your hips and warm breath on the back of your neck startled you.
"What the fuck are you wearing?!" A deep voice said.
The slutty French maid costume lived up to its name. Your full breasts were spilling out of the top and the dress barely covered your ass. You added fishnet stockings to cover your deliciously thick thighs and to add to the overall hoe factor. You rarely wore heels, but tonight you decided on a  pair of clear, stacked, 5” sandals. You knew Jason wouldn't like your body on display at the party, but he would just have to get over it tonight. He was lucky you’d even showed up.
The voice in your ear sounded familiar. You jerked away and looked at the man from the ground up. He wore combat boots, a pair of camo pants that hugged him in all the right places, a vest with metal breastplates, and a thin shirt that hugged his muscular arms perfectly. His hair was cut low all over, except for in the middle, where he had short dreads that sprung up and away from his head wildly. Two of his lower teeth were dipped in gold. The look in his eyes was one of pent up anger and rage.
Jason had transformed himself into your own personal Erik “Killmonger” Stevens.
"Jason?" You were surprised at how much he actually looked like Killmonger. He knew you had a not-so-secret thing for him, which is probably why he was so confident you'd love his costume this year. People frequently stopped Jason to tell him he resembled the fine ass actor who played your fictitious, homicidal movie boyfriend, but you never saw it--until tonight. He'd been growing his hair out since the summer, and you hated it so much that you barely let him touch you. You told him he could get some cut when he cut his hair, but he refused to, so you’d been finding other ways to get what you needed the last few months.
"Answer my question. Who gave you permission to come out dressed like a slut tonight?"
"OK, Jason, this is cute, but you not gon' talk to me like that."
You turned to walk away, but he grabbed your wrist so tight that your body involuntarily stepped back towards him to ease the pressure on your arm.
"Where do you think you're going?"
You realized at that moment he wanted you to play along, so for the sake of your wrist and his fun, you went along with it.
"Nowhere Killmonger. I'm all yours," you smirked at him.
He grinned devilishly and replied, "You better be. And you can call me Erik."
He grabbed a bottle from behind the bar and instructed you to follow him until you reached a pair of plush couches in the atrium of the mansion. People were all around, dressed in costumes, seemingly entranced by the music and the free-flowing alcohol.
"Drink," he demanded.
He started to pour liquor in your mouth before you could respond.
"Wait!" Alcohol was all over your lips and chin and quickly trailing down your to your breasts.
He quickly sucked it off your neck and licked the top of your tits in plain sight.
"What are you doing, Jason?" You were angry and turned on at the same time.
"You got one more time to call me by another nigga's name. You understand me?"
You nodded your head and squirmed a little, realizing how wet you were.
"Now drink up. I want you loose tonight."
Erik wanted to dance, so you joined the crowd on the floor. His camo pants were thick, but you could feel how excited he was to be grinding behind you. In character or not, he hadn't touched you like this in months. As your bodies moved together to the music, one of his hands crept up your waist and palmed your breast. You loved the way his hands felt on you. He turned you around to face him and gave you the nastiest, sexiest kiss you’d ever experienced. He was really in character and you loved it.
After grinding on each other a while longer, he whispered in your ear, "I'm ready to fuck you."
Your eyes bulged out from your head and the tingling in your pussy that had been happening since you laid eyes on him tonight intensified. You were ready to fuck too.
"Go upstairs into the second door and take off everything. NOW." He dismissed you, confident you’d obey his order.
You trailed up the stairs and waited for him.
"The fuck you still got clothes on for?!" Your boyfriend was always firm, knowing how to lovingly put you in your place when I needed to be checked. But the tone he used tonight was different. It almost made you afraid of him.
"I'm going to teach you how to listen today. Bend over." You looked at him with questioning eyes to see if he was serious.
"Bend the fuck over," he repeated. You leaned onto the bed in front of you, ass straight up, listening like a good girl. He ran his hand down your ass before giving it a firm smack.
"When I tell you to do something, I mean that shit." You could hear the lust-filled anger in his voice.
You flinched in pain, but your mouth let out a needy moan, encouraging him to continue. He hit your jiggling backside again just before you heard the sound of your fishnet stockings ripping, leaving your ass fully exposed, save the thong you wore. You felt the string being pulled away from your center and onto your ass cheek.
His fingers circled your clit from behind, making you arch your back, pushing your pussy deep onto his fingers. You wanted them inside. You were so wet, and they’d slipped in a few times already.
"Not yet, baby," he growled. He replaced his fingers with his mouth.
He gave you a good tongue lashing from behind and licked up your slit towards your ass. He slowed down as he made his way upwards, and you tensed up, knowing where he was headed. Your boyfriend loved your body and gave all of himself to you when you had sex. He was attentive and genuinely desired to pleasure every part of your body, but you were never comfortable with him pleasing that part of you. It was still so taboo. Would it even feel good? With him thinking he was Killmonger tonight if he tried, would you be able to stop him? Would you want to stop him?
As his tongue reached that small region of flesh between your pussy and your other hole, your reflexes caused you to reach one of your hands back, trying to swat him away.
"Wait, Jas-Erik, whoever the fuck you are."
That was the worst thing you could have done. He grabbed the arm that tried to push him away and held it on top of your back with his hand, leaving you to balance all of your weight onto the single arm below you. His other hand firmly gripped your upper thigh and pulled you closer to his face.
"Ahhhhh, Erik." You were gone at the first stoke of his tongue in your no longer forbidden area.
He ate you mercilessly, giving you a pleasure you'd never experienced before. Your arm gave out on you, and you finally just planted your face into the bed. Your ass never moved, though; you were enjoying his tongue too much. He released your arm. The noises you were making was assurance you wouldn't try and stop him again. Your eyes rolled back in slow motion when he opened your pussy with his fingers pushing them deep into you and twisting them as he moved in and out of you, mouth still teasing your ass.
"Oh my gosh, Jason. Fuck!"
"What you just call me?" His words vibrated against your hole, sending a shiver up your spine. He smacked your ass hard. "What's my name?"
Smack.
Your body shuddered, but you didn't answer.
"Hmm?" He struck you again and laughed.
"Erik," I whispered. His fingers moved to your clit, sending shockwaves through your body, making your pussy jump from the inside.
"Louder," he demanded.
"MmmmErik!" Unintelligible sounds left your mouth as he stroked your clit and ate you from behind. Your climax overtook you, pushing the balls of your feet deep into the soft carpet and making your toes point back up towards the bed. Your body went stiff before going completely limp. You flopped stomach-first onto the bed below you.
He leaned over you on the bed and whispered, "We ain't done yet, turn over."
You lazily rolled over on your back as he carefully took off his costume. You watched his beautiful body in awe when he removed his shirt and revealed dozens of scars across his chest and abdomen. He was committed to this costume.
You were on autopilot and didn't realize you were pleasuring yourself until he growled, "That's a good girl, keep that kitty wet for me."
Your fingers continued massaging your pussy as he stood over you, stroking his dick and chewing his bottom lip. "You look so good, baby, rubbing your clit like that, but I thought I told you to take your clothes off." He reached down and snatched the top of your dress open, making your breasts spill out and sending buttons flying across the room.
"Yeah, that's better. Now play with them juicy ass titties." You stuck your fingers in your mouth, trying to get them as wet as possible before moving them in circles around your deep brown nipples. His dick slid up and down your slit as you continued giving special attention to your sensitive breasts.
Finally, he entered you with a loud grunt, spreading your walls with his healthy girth. You inched up the bed a little trying to adjust to him; it had been a little while.
"Uhun, where you going? Ain't no escaping this dick tonight." He cupped his hands under your thighs and lifted your ass off the bed, pushing himself further inside, using your legs to pull you up and down his juicy dick.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, Erik."
"Feels better now?"
"Yes, baby, yes," you whimpered. He twisted in and out of you, pausing every few strokes to stop and lick your clit before entering you again. His pace sped up as he looked down on you with dark eyes.
"Ahhhh got damn, girl. This pussy so fucking wet." He inhaled deeply like it was going to keep his nut from coming too soon.
"Of course it is, daddy. You keep tapping my spot," you moaned. He shifted his hips a little, hitting it straight on.
"Where is it?"
"It's right there. Don't stop, right there, please!" Your fingers gripped the sheets below you as you came hard around him. He rubbed your clit midway through your orgasm, intensifying and extending your high. He came inside you heavy before falling to your side, breathing deeply as you traced your fingers along the raised scars on his chest.
"So, you like my costume?" Your boyfriend was back.
"It was aight." He raised an eyebrow at you.
"I can give you another spanking if my performance wasn't convincing enough."
"No baby, my ass hurts. But I have a question. You think Killmonger cuddles after sex?"
"Fuck no!" He yelled. "I do, though."
He wrapped his arms around you, placing kisses in the crook of your neck.
You couldn’t stop grinning as you laid there in his arms. The experience with him tonight was overwhelming. It felt like you fucked someone else.
You fucked Killmonger.

Tumblr media
It was very rare that the Volleyball Club had a day off, and it was even rarer when one of those days were dedicated to a team bonding activity. But it had been a rather long time since you guys had last had one, so with a little planning from you, Kiyoko, and Yachi, it was decided that the VBC would spend a few hours together, and instead of tossing a ball back and forth, it'd be spent carving pumpkins. That's how you found yourself where you are now, sitting on a tarp in one of the school's empty soccer fields, Ennoshita to the right of you and Tanaka to the left of you, Noya besides him, Narita across from you, and Kinoshita besides him. The third and first years were in similar circles on their own tarps a few feet away from you guys.
"Noya-San, what are you carving?" Hinata called from where he sat beside Kageyama, eyes only for the hyperactive second year. Noya shrugged nonchalantly, a cocky smirk turning up the corners of his lips as he cradled his pumpkin to his chest.
"It's a surprise, obviously!"
"Oh!" Hinata's eyes lit up at the prospect and, he too, pulled his own pumpkin tight against his chest as to shield it from anyone's searching eyes, "Mine will be one too, then!"
"Idiot!" Kageyama called from his spot beside Hinata, narrowing his eyes at the boy, "You're probably carving a volleyball!"
Hinata's cheeks grew red at Kageyama's words but that didn't stop the shorter boy from scowling at him, "Am not!"
The two began to bicker back and forth and you turned your attention away from them with a smile, averting your attention back to your own pumpkin that rested in your lap.
"He was so going to carve a volleyball" Ennoshita leaned in to whisper to you. You turned to him, laughing with a nod, and Ennoshita couldn't help but join in.
"What about you, Ennoshita?" You asked, leaning closer to peer at his pumpkin. While he hadn't got to actually carving the pumpkin yet, he had sketched a face onto the surface of it. A smile broke out on your face at the cute design, and you looked up to meet his eyes, "It's cute, Chika-Chan!"
Ennoshita felt his cheeks warm up at the sight of your bright smile, but he brushed it off with a laugh, leaning into you to peer over your shoulder. You moved quickly, though, jerking your pumpkin out of his sight before he could take a glance at it. Ennoshita's eyebrows shot up at your sudden movements, "What? I can't see your pumpkin?"
You shook your head, clutching it tighter to you when he tried to take another glance, "No! You have to wait until it's done!"
"Fine" The boy sighed, rolling his eyes at you as he leaned back, picking up a carving knife as he got to work on carving out the face of his pumpkin. You watched him for a moment longer, before glancing back at your own pumpkin. You picked up a marker, popping off the cap before bringing it up to your pumpkin. Unbeknownst to you, Ennoshita glanced at you from the corner of his eyes, smiling to himself when he saw the concentrated look on your face. Your eyebrows were knitted together in concentration, and the tip of your tongue was poking out between your lips. The boy felt a nudge against his shoulder, and he glanced at Kinoshita who was sitting beside him. His fellow second-year winked at him with a knowing smile. Ennoshita rolled his eyes, but he couldn't stop the blush from blossoming on his cheeks. Kinoshita let it go, turning back to his pumpkin with a smug smile. The next few moments were relatively calm. The low chatter coming from the others and your quiet hum that only the second years surrounding you could hear. The boys finished far before you, and the only time you looked up from your pumpkin was so you could look at their finished products. You complimented each and every one, and they all accepted your praise with a proud smile. They, in return, waited rather impatiently for you to finish your own carving.
"Done!" You called out finally, a bright smile on your face as you turned around your pumpkin to show the waiting second years.
"Wow!" Narita spoke first, eyes twinkling as he looked at your pumpkin, "It's really good!"
"Thanks!" You beamed as the others nodded along to their friend's words.
"Yeah, it looks gr—" Noya was cut short as Hinata and Kageyama's bickering grew louder and louder. Your eyes were instantly drawn to where all the first years sat, raising an eyebrow as you wondered just what they were fighting about now. The two continued to argue back and forth, and Tsukki regarded them with a bored stare as Yamaguchi stifled his laughs behind his hand. Yachi could only stare at the two hopelessly. You couldn't quite make out their words, but you figured Kageyama said something that really ticked off Hinata, if the orange-haired boy's next action was any indication.
It was as if time slowed down as Hinata reached down, scooping up some of the pumpkin guts that he had tossed into a bowl earlier. He pulled his hand back, and before you could even try and tell him not to, he flung his hand forward, the mess of orange pulp and pumpkin seeds flying through the air, heading straight for Kageyama. The setter had the foresight to duck down, however. You let out a breath of relief, tense shoulders dropping forward. However, that relief was short-lived when you realized just where the glop of pumpkin guts was heading now.
Daichi's laugh was cut short as the glob of pumpkin insides landed right on his head. He blinked once, twice, three times. Everyone seemingly held their breath, eyes wide as they stared at their captain. Daichi opened his mouth to say something, but promptly shut it when he felt the glop slowly began to droop down his head, inching lower and lower until it finally slipped off his head and landed in his lap with a quiet splat.
You could practically see the anger grow in Daichi's eyes and you made a mental promise to Hinata that you'd stop Noya from photoshopping him into some of those fake clouds because you were sure if Daichi didn't kill the boy himself, Hinata would die of utter fear and embarrassment. May he rest in peace.
When Daichi opened his mouth once more, you had half the mind to shut your eyes and cower away, not really wanting to see the captain's angry outburst, but before he could even utter a word, a boisterous and hysterical laugh broke through the tense atmosphere. Everyone's eyes were drawn to the source of the sound, and when you peered over Ennoshita's shoulder, your eyes landed on Suga. He was clutching his stomach, head thrown back as he laughed and laughed and laughed. You couldn't help but feel your lips twitch up at the sight, and Daichi turned to his best friend with narrowed eyes. He reached out, scooping up the pumpkin pulp that sat in his lap before launching it at the grey-haired boy. Suga's laugh was effectively cut short as the pumpkin guts hit him right in the nose. His mouth dropped open in shock before, he too, flung it right back at Daichi. Some of it hit the captain's shoulder, but the majority of it splattered against Asahi's chest. That was when all hell broke loose.
"Pumpkin guts war!" Noya rose to his feet, pumping his fist into the air before throwing the goop that he held in his other hand straight at Tanaka. The short-haired male gasped, narrowing his eyes at his chaotic counterpart before throwing an even bigger glob at Noya. Noya's eyes hardened before he grabbed his bowl full of pumpkin insides, throwing its contents in Tanaka's direction. The boy ducked, however, and instead, both you and Ennoshita were hit. Tanaka and Kinoshita promptly burst into a fit of laughs, clutching their stomachs as you and Ennoshita shared a look, a mental conversation being spoken between the two of you. You both then averted your attention back to Noya, who's own laughter stopped instantly.
Noya's eyes widened under the heat of both your's and Ennoshita's angry glares. He held his hands up in surrender as he scrambled back, "Uh, wait guys! I'm sorry, I didn't m—"
The boy was cut short as you dove at him, tackling him to the ground, "Now, Chika!"
Ennoshita picked up his own bowl of pumpkin guts before jogging over to where Noya was struggling from under you, smiling devilishly before spilling its contents all over Noya. You giggled, taking Ennoshita's hand as he held it out to you. He hoisted you back up to your feet, and the two of you dashed away from the angry libero who chased after the two of you. The war between the three of you raged on for a few minutes, with Tanka and Kinoshita joining in as well until the boys were eventually drawn into a fight against the first years. You took the moment to catch your breath, laughing to yourself as Hinata was struck right in the face by Tanaka. From the corner of your eye, you noticed someone standing a few feet away from you, and they were far too clean for your liking.
"Oi, Narita!" You called out sweetly, and the boy visibly blanched, tensing up at the sound of your voice. You giggled, before lurching forward, wrapping your arms around him from behind.
"You're the worst" He groaned, accepting defeat as he stood still in your hold. He didn't have to see his back to know that he now had pumpkin all over him.
You laughed, hugging him tighter, "You love me!"
"Mhm," The boy hummed playfully, breaking out of your hold before turning around to face you. He smiled cheekily before reaching out, patting your head sweetly. However, you should have known that the gesture was anything but sweet. Your eyes widened and mouth fell agape as he broke out into laughter. The pumpkin guts that he had plopped onto the top of your head slowly began to slide down, before it eventually fell into a heap at your guys' feet. The two of you both glanced down at it before meeting one another's eyes, promptly bursting out into laughter.
"Ay!" Tanaka shouted, pointing at the two of you with a hard stare, "Get your asses over here and help us beat these losers!"
You and Narita shared a look before jogging over to the boy. The 'war' continued on for a few more minutes, the third years eventually ambushing all of you as Kiyoko stood a few feet away, not a single seed on her, as she watched with an amused smile as pumpkin flew back and forth, accompanied by joyous laughter.
"Well" A voice drawled cynically, and all movement stopped as everyone's eyes were drawn to the sound. There stood Tsukki, a sour look on his face as he scowled at all of you, arms crossed over his chest, "While I'm sure you guys had fun making complete fools of yourselves, I doubt you're going to have much fun cleaning up the mess."
His smug face soon had the entire group of you scowling at the boy, and without a second thought, you all turned your bodies to fully face the boy. The smirk was soon wiped from his face as he took notice of the mischievous looks in your guys' eyes, and he took a defensive step back, "What are you guys doing? I swear—"
"Now!" Noya shouted, cutting off the blonde. Everyone pulled their arms back before launching them forward, handfuls of pumpkin insides flying straight for the bespectacled blonde. Tsukki had no choice but to accept his fate, eyes wide as he stood frozen in place.
A beat passed before Tsukki blinked, glancing down at his clothes now covered in pumpkin guts. He blinked once more, a heavy sigh slipping past his lips before he lifted his head to meet everyone's eyes once more, "I hate you all."
"Oh, don't be such a Scrooge, Tsukki!"
"That's Christmas, you idiot!"

♡ Summary: When you’re sick on your favorite holiday, Hoseok just wants to make you feel better. ♡ Pairing: Hoseok x Gender Neutral!Reader ♡ Genre: Fluff, established relationship ♡ Rating: G ♡ Warnings: None ♡ Word Count: 1.8k ♡ A/N: For @btsholidaybingo. Halloween may be over on the calendar, but it still lives on in my heart and through my Halloween wips that I’m still working through. Bingo Square: Horror Movies
Tumblr media
Jiminie: Hyung is freaking out because you're not answering his calls or texts
You sigh when your phone vibrates for what seems like the hundredth time and finally look at it.
Y/n: Sorry, I've been asleep all day
That isn’t a lie. You had slept most of the early morning away. The rest of the day was spent watching bad Netflix horror movies and throwing up what was left of your tainted dinner from the previous night. Of all the days your body decides it’s time to be ill, being sick on your favorite holiday was truly a betrayal.
Jiminie: All day? It's nearly four, and it’s Halloween. What's wrong?
Y/n: Nothing! I’m pretty sure I just have food poisoning.
Y/n: DON'T TELL HOSEOK. I don't want him worrying about me. You know how he is when I’m sick.
You should've known not to trust Jimin to keep your secret. Out of all of the members, you’re closest to Jimin and trust him most. Even so, you know this little tidbit of information is going to slip through his friend filter and that he’s going to tell Hoseok out of worry for you.
Not even half an hour after you’ve sent him the text and he replies with an 'okay,’ you hear your front door open. You bury yourself further under the covers and groan, making a mental note to exact revenge on Jimin when you feel better.
"Y/n!?"
As annoyed as you are with Jimin, you can’t help but smile at the sound of Hoseok's voice. It’s one of your favorite sounds.
"In my room!" You manage to croak out, throat feeling raw. You listen to his footsteps rushing down the hall and the crinkling of a paper bag. You smile at the sight of your boyfriend, looking at you with eyes full of concern
"Why didn't you tell me you were sick!?" Hoseok sets the bag on your bedside table and gingerly climbs into bed next to you.
"I didn't want to worry you. Plus, you guys have that huge Halloween party going down at Big Hit tonight. I wanted you to enjoy your day."
Hoseok smiles warmly at you before pulling the comforter back to see more of your face. "Baby, you should already know that I would give up any and every party to spend my day with you. I always enjoy being with you, sickness that you neglect to tell me about, and all." He reaches over to cup your face and frowns.”You’re so clammy, Y/n.”
You shrug. “I’ve been trapped in the bathroom for most of the day. I’ve probably thrown up all my fluids.”
“When’s the last time you drank some water?”
Good question. “Uh…”
Hoseok clicks his tongue in disapproval before grabbing the bag he brought with him. "Well, before I came over, I stopped at the store for medicine. I brought candy, popcorn, and tea, but meds come first because I know you haven’t taken any.” He gives you a look. He wasn’t wrong. “I wasn't sure what symptoms you had, so I got one that covers all kinds of food poisoning symptoms. This one is for nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, stomach cramps, bloating, and indigestion. Do you have all of these?"
"Unfortunately.”
"Good, now open up." Hoseok insists on feeding you the medicine himself, and after a lot of whining on your part, you eventually take it, complaining about how gross it is the entire time while Hoseok just laughs. Thankfully, he lets you handle the task of drinking a glass of water yourself.
"Thank you, Hobi. You don't have to stick around anymore if you-"
"Hey, I already said I’m spending my time with you. I’m here to celebrate Halloween with you. Now keep drinking your water and stay here. I'm going to go make you some tea and soup."
"But-"
"No, buts! I'm making you something to eat, and that's that." Hoseok offers you a smile and leans down to place a small kiss on your forehead before leaving the room.
You sigh and continue to sip your water in silence. He’s being his usual selfless and considerate self, but this is the main reason you hadn’t wanted him to find out. Hoseok had a habit of babying you any way he could when you were sick. It was sweet, but also tiring.
Twenty minutes or so later, Hoseok comes back into the room with a small tray. It has a steaming bowl of soup in the middle and a cup of tea on it. You also notice a few small packs of crackers around the bowl. "I know you like saltines with your soup, so I brought some too."
"And the tea?"
"Four sugars, honey, and a splash of creamer. I even put a little extra honey, so it'll ease your throat." You smile at your boyfriend as he takes a seat on the bed next to you. Your prop yourself up against your pillows and situate the tray on your lap. Before you can pick up your spoon, Hoseok has it in his hands. He brings it up to your lips after blowing on the hot food.
"Hoseok, I can feed myself, you know."
"I know, but I just want to help you." He breaks into his bright, heart-melting smile, leaving you no room to object. You let out a groan before opening your mouth and letting him feed you.
Once you’re done eating and have your tea, which he made sure to blow on to cool it down for you, he draws you a warm bath, explaining that it'll help with your stomach cramps. “Here, let help you.” He reaches to lift your shirt, but you bat his hands away.
“I got it, Hobi.”
“Well, I can wash you up. You’re probably still feeling tired.”
“No, that’s okay, babe.”
“I can at least stay in here to make sure you’re safe. In case you get too hot and-”
“I can do it myself!” You snap at him, pushing him out of the bathroom. As flattered as you are by how much he’s willing to help, it was starting to annoy you.
When you emerge from the bathroom half an hour later, you do have to admit that you’re feeling better. Hoseok is sitting on your bed, scrolling through his phone and he jumps up when you enter. He makes a move to leave, but you stop him.
"It's okay. You can stay." You send him a smile before making your way over to your dresser.
"Y/n, I uh, I’m sorry that I made you so mad. I promise I only want to help you. I didn’t mean to upset you."
Once you are in a fresh pair of pajamas, you crawl into bed, tugging his hand to bring him with you. Hoseok situates himself in bed and pulls you to lie against him.
"First of all, I'm not mad," you begin. "I know you mean well. It's just the fact that you always tend to hover over me when I’m sick and do things you don't need to do. I just have a stomach bug. I’m not paralyzed or dying. I can take off my own clothes and eat my own soup. I'm grateful to have you here to take care of me, but you're worrying too much."
Hoseok sighs and begins rubbing your arm. "I'm sorry. I care about you too much to not want to dote on you, you know. I love you."
"I love you too, and thank you for your concern. I actually feel way better than I did this morning." You glance up at him, seeing that wonderful grin on his face.
"See, I knew the bath would help! Is there anything else you need or want? Something Halloween-y, perhaps?"
You think for a few seconds before lacing your fingers through his. "Watch horror movies with me?" Knowing how stressed scary movies make him, you assume he’ll suggest something else, but to your surprise, he nods, albeit visibly reluctant.
"Anything for you,” he chirps, voice a little too high pitched. Hoseok leans down to lightly kiss the top of your head before getting out of bed. “Pick whatever you want. I’m going to make some popcorn. I think you’ve earned it since you’re feeling a little better.”
You scroll through Netflix looking for a movie as you wait for him, deciding on one of your favorites, The Conjuring. When he gets back, he’s balancing a big bowl of popcorn in one hand and a few mini Milky Ways and Twix bars in the other.
After getting situated, he pulls you into his chest again, and you can hear how fast his heart is beating.
“Hobi, are you sure this is a good idea? You know how you get with horror stuff. We can do something else.”
“Y/n, please, I’ll be fine because I’m with you.” He does his best to reassure you as he turns the lamp on the bedside table off.
An hour into the movie and he is most certainly not doing fine. He’s already screamed four times and nearly knocked over the popcorn. At some point, he’d taken your comforter and cocooned himself into it to hide in the fabric.
The movie is more than halfway through when a particular spook has Hoseok falling off the bed in shock. You fish the remote from underneath a pillow and stop the movie, exiting out of Netflix altogether. Out of all the times he’s attempted to watch horror movies with you, this is the longest he’s lasted through a movie, so you decide to give him a break today.
“Babe, what are you doing?” He asks from the mound of fluff on the floor.
“I’m changing the movie, Hobi.”
“Yeah, but-“
“Too late, the movie is already off. I appreciate that you want to spend time doing something I want, but I have other Halloween movies I like that will be kinder to you.”
Hoseok seems to recognize the opening of Hocus Pocus, springing up from the floor as the movie starts. He climbs back onto the bed to cuddle with you again.
“You know I love you, right Y/n?” His sudden question surprises you, and you look up at him only to see him staring right back at you.
“Of course. And you know I love you.” He beams at you, kissing you tenderly and pulling away before you can get lost in his lips.
“Good, because I’ll need you to hold me when Billy comes on screen. He’s entirely too creepy for a Disney movie.”  You can’t help the laugh that bubbles out as you snuggle closer to Hoseok. This year’s Halloween is turning out not to be the worst, after all, thanks to Hoseok and his love for you that you can practically feel radiating off of him, making you feel much better.

Year of the cow, or how I stopped worrying and loved the meme (BBRae)
Beast Boy's and Raven's relationship is truly one of the most subtle and emotional ones I have seen. There are lots of fantastically written fics which dive deep into characterisation and their nuanced, complicated emotions, showing complex colours of the spectrum of love.
Unfortunately, you have made a mistake clicking on one of my fics.
This is a birthday present for my buddy, ZekkKiray, and it revolves around a meme which I really found irritating... And I wondered how other characters might have reacted to it. Happy birthday, man!
yes, still half hour till midnight in my time zone, made it.
BBRae, 4k, E, (Ao3)
==========
As the Sun slowly hid on the horizon, Jump City, just like every city and town in the world, was slowly preparing for a glorious celebration. People were ready to welcome the new year with dances, parties and optimism encouraged by copious amounts of alcohol.
But not everyone was interested in partying and throwing caution to the wind. Five superheroes traversed the town's rooftops, watching over many celebrations, and ideal breeding grounds for crime, big or small.
Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven and Beast Boy set out to patrol the city, to ensure that this momentous occasion won't be disturbed by any wrong-doer...
And quite quickly decided to join the party. Well, some of them. Robin sighed when he realised that his team has disbanded to join the crowd of onlookers, cheering and applauding the band on the colorful stage, that would soon be replaced by another group, hired just to play one or two hits for some quick cash.
Raven stayed to the side as well, keeping her eye not only at her friends, but the crowd, though her attention was suddenly caught by the dancers on the stage. Three women, dressed in black-and-white horned costumes, performing a synchronised dance, much to the delight of the audience.
- Er, and what exactly is that? Some sort of fad...?
- Oh, no, friend Raven! - Starfire was eager to explain - Robin has told me it's a Chinese calendar! And the Chinese have chosen an animal to represents each year, and...
- Oh, yeah, right. - Raven interrupted her - And lemme guess, this year's a cow?
- Ox, technically. - Robin chimed in - And it's not even started yet, it's based on a lunar one, so it will be somewhere in February.
Raven looked at the women in their silly costumes, dancing and playfully jiggling their fake udders and cow-bells to the beat of the music.
- Meh, whatever, it's gonna be over soon. Oh, by the way, this guys was pickpocketing. - Raven spoke nonchalantly, her shadow coiling around a burly man's throat.
By January fourth, however, Raven was seeing cows everywhere. Television, billboards, the internet... especially the internet. She felt as if it was a single-themed Halloween party that somehow stretched to a week.
And the boys weren't helping. While Robin remained reasonably level-headed, Cyborg and Beast Boy were having times of their lives, enjoying every single appearance of the costumes in real life, or in any media.
The worst thing was, Raven wasn't even sure why the fad irritated her so much. There were much more asinine things out there. But something about that fad was driving her nuts.
At the very least, there was Starfire, who sometimes was able to understand her.... or so Raven thought until she returned one day from the market with plastic cow-horns on her head a bell around her neck.
Raven groaned at the sight of his friend and stormed out of the common room, pushing away few streamers, still lingering after the new year's party.
She closed door to her room behind her and embraced the darkness and silence that allowed her to meditate and focus her powers...
And then she heard the faint jingling of the cowbells from behind the wall.
The purple flames on the candles around her shot up to the ceiling, as Raven tried to control her irritation.
She barked and grabbed her mirror, disappearing into her private void that extinguished the flames she ignited.
Raven walked down the floating rocks that paved her dimension, encased in darkness, illuminated by just few stars and distant galaxies. The ravens flew away in fear, as she glided forward, hoping to find some peace and quiet here...
- Hiya!
But of course, in this realm, she was never truly alone.
A woman dressed in pink jumped from behind a nearby rock, causing Raven to cease her movement just for a while, before she promptly decided to ignore her own emoticlone.
- Oh come on, you haven't been here for ages! - the jovial embodiment of happiness continued - We've been having SO much fun here!
- Great. Leave me alone.
But before she could react, Pink grabbed her and steered her off-path, flying down a different route, loudly announcing their presence.
- Hey guys. looks who's here! - she shouted, waving the arm she wasn't using to maneuver Raven between rocks.
- Oh, great, our big sister... - the Orange mumbled from behind a couch-shaped rock
- Have-have we done something wrong? - the timid Graphite pulled over her cloak
- Judging from your prolonged absence, something extraordinary must have happened. - Yellow interjected, eyeing Raven with curious stare.
Raven let out another groan.
- It's nothing. Leave me-
- Oh, is it about you-know-who?
Violet's sly and suggestive voice prompted Raven to pause mid-turn. her eye twitched.
- Ooh, very brave of you to tackle the most common problem of your visits! - Green added at once. - He can be annoying...
- I've said...
A blast of energy erupted around her, as Raven turned away, but couldn't finish her sentence. There was one emotion left, and she knew very well what can summon her, and it was already too late.
- Come on, say it.
Red spoke, gleaming with a subtle, yet unmistakeable triumph in her voice.
- I'm done with you. - Raven answered and continued her walk, before being predictably stopped again
- Oh sure, is this why you have almost brought me back? - she sneered - And for such petty reason...
- Ooh, tell us, tell us! - Pink chimed in, before being brought aside by Yellow
- Let me do it...
Red spoke and spread her arms, giving the other emoticlones chance to glimpse into what little she have seen.
- That... that is quite an insignificant reason to bring back *her* - Yellow judged - Are you sure it's adequate?
- I'm just afraid this will backfire... - Graphite meeped from behind her
- But I was right - Violet added - It is about him...
- ENOUGH!
Raven burst with energy, silencing her living emotions.
- We just want you to say it, so we can... help you.
The Red emoticlone stood in her way, finally making her stop. Her presence cast a shadow of fear on the lesser creatures of this realm, and even some other emoticlones that dared not to approach her. Red's voice was strangely polite, though Raven knew she must have an ulterior motive behind it.
- And you know what the answer to your problem is.
Anger reached her arm and waited for Raven's response. She couldn't meet her eyes. She was right, of course, but at the same time, embracing the violent and unpredictable part of her nature, reminding her of her father's legacy filled her with disgust...
- But you will not be alone with it. - Violet suddenly joined.
- And while it may look odd, this might be an opportunity to broaden your horizons. - Yellow continued.
- And let's face it, you've done weirder things, but you never cowered away! - Green shouted.
- Besides, it's gonna be so much fun! - Pink smiled.
Raven lifted her hood and looked at the other emoticlones, all awaiting her decision.
Knowing she's delaying the inevitable, with a heavy sigh, Raven made her decision.
===============
Garfield knew better not to interrupt Raven. He has made that mistake a few times in his life, and he still had his life only because Raven was his friend.
Still, seeing her angry was painful, thought not as much as the silent treatment he was getting from her. Beast Boy hesitated for a moment, and just before he was about to knock on her doors, he stopped himself.
With a sigh, he turned around and returned to his room, finding someone already inside.
At first, Garfield thought he was dreaming. But after a few blinks, he realised that the marvellous, dreamy sight in front of his eyes was real, and it made his heart skip a beat.
Raven's trademark, dark-blue attire was gone, replaced by a white costume dotted with black-and-brown spots. Her long legs were covered in fishnets with the same pattern, and as his eyes travelled up, he realised what was exerting the gravitational force that was pulling him that way...
The skin-tight costume had changed his perception, perhaps, but even then, Raven' nipples were just a fraction of an inch away from slipping, as her breast were simply too big to stay hidden in any article of clothing.
And when he looked at her horned head again, he noticed a faint smile on her face, contrasting so much with her demeanour over the past few days. She shifted her legs, spreading them slightly, giving him just a small tease of what was to come, and with her eyes fixated at him, she spoke.
- Moo, I guess.
- Oh, momma!
And before she knew it, Beast Boy leapt onto her with the grace and agility of a frog, diving between her enlarged breasts, and feeling the delicate, cushioning texture engulf his head almost entirely. And at the same time, with his fingers digging into the material, he freed Raven's breasts, hungrily kissing each square inch of her body as if his life depended on it.
- Gar... - Raven moans, feeling her boyfriend wriggling against her bosom
- I see someone has changed her mind...
- You can say that... - Raven replied, hiding the moan that was about to escape her lips.
- I guess you took Starfire's approach and visited the market? - Beast Boy joked, between his kisses - Or, wait, no, you ordered it online so no one will know, right?
- Let's just say I didn't have to order it...
For a moment, Beast Boy pondered the meaning of her words, until he realised that he has seen her outfit once before. Well, without the black-and-brown blots. And as the realisation dawned on him, he let out a gasp, as Raven's eyes glowed white.
Only one of the spots was brown. There was a pink, yellow, green one...
Her most powerful form, the combination of all of her emotions sat on his bed, emanating raw magical, warm energy that could easily vaporise him if she wanted to. Beast Boy suspected the horns weren't plastic either, and that he has just made a few snarky jokes to a demonic sorceress orders of magnitude more powerful than him.
And yet, she was still smiling.
- I just... - Raven swallowed - Couldn't stand you ogling all those cartoon anime girls on-line, in their stupid cow costumes. So I had to fight fire with fire.
- Aww... - Beast Boy cooed - Is my Raven jealous?
- YES. - the demon spoke in deep, rumbling voice that shook some of the objects on the shelves.
The spots on her White costumes suddenly glowed with ominous, red aura, as blood in Garfield's veins froze.
Her face was inches away from his, and only when she felt his hastened breath, she calmed down, and her spots returned to their original colours, just as the red aura disappeared from her eyes. She reached her hands and cupped his face, glad that he did not back away, as her anger overtook her. Their lips met, and Raven poured her apologies into him in a long, delicate kiss.
- And you will have to pay for it. - she smiled, giving Garfield clear sign she was everything under control, including him.
- Rae... - Garfield whined - You-you know I'd never... they... they don't mean anything...
- Then prove it.
Raven used the moment of hesitation to engulf him and with one sharp move of her hands and her magic, she ripped his clothes to shreds and brought her lover closer to her. With his shorts gone, Raven's eyes fixated on his cock, and had to restrain herself from licking her lips, as its head came closer and closer to her face. But of course neither of them would settle on just a blowjob, given the magic Raven cast upon herself.
Beast Boy jumped onto her breasts again, peppering them with plethora of hungry, ravenous kisses. Knowing already her bosom by heart, he know had a whole new territory to explore, and he did that with impeccable dedication. But as his lips closed around her nipple, he received a taste of something unexpected. His eyes widened, and met hers, as sweet substance made contact with his tongue. The sly smile on her lips remained, but as Beast Boy began lapping her milk, her face was torn with a new grimace he hasn't seen yet, and Raven was more than eager to experience.
Garfield moved from one nipple to the other, wishing he could transform into some creature with two heads. As Raven squirmed and moaned underneath him, he wondered what will happen soon, and with his hand manoeuvring between her thighs, he was determined to discovered that.
Her back arched, as his fingers reached her wet spot and slipped underneath her costume, just as his tongue coiled around her nipple again. Though she was trying to contain her emotions, the spots on her costume glowed in violet with each kiss and delicate move of his fingers against or inside her sex, and soon, Raven was thrashing underneath him, ready to burst.
And when she did, it was not with energy, but with milk that filled Beast Boy's mouth, in an act that surprised both of them.
Raven quaked for a few more minutes, coating his fingers with her juices he now lapped as eagerly as the new one she produced for him. Beast Boy made sure to wait until she was looking at him when he licked his lips, tasting both.
- Come'ere, I'm thirsty too... - she huffed, and settled herself amongst the pillows, ready to invite him.
Beast Boy let out a dreamy sigh, as his cock slid between her breasts, engulfing him completely with the delicate, heavenly texture only her breasts could provide. And when Raven gently pushed her mounds together, she added the missing part of friction, making Beast Boy throw his head back, even though he hasn't moved an inch.
But as he looked down at his girlfriend, he met her unusually frisky eyes, and with that, he flexed his muscles. Next thing she knew, his hands were on her horns, and he pushed his hips forward, diving deep into her bosom.
His action was a bit sudden and Raven's eyes opened wide when she realised that her head was pulled forward and that his twitching tip was now a fraction of an inch from her lips. And as she was about to open them, he pulled back and began his thrusts, mewling and moaning with each one, as pleasure slowly engulfed him.
He was in trance, brought by the alluring sight of his girlfriend and her magically enlarged bosom and thge reward they were leaking. And as Raven promised, she wanted one of her own: now, with every rapid thrust, her tongue lapped a drop or two of his pre-cum, in turn only generating more samples of what was to come. Raven was pretty sure what was his plan, but she opened her lips wide anyway, hoping to catch at least some of his oncoming climax.
- Rae...Rae... I LOVE YOU!
And with that proclamation, beast Boy dived balls-deep between her magically enlarged breasts, letting her warmth and size cover them as well, which only strengthened his orgasm. Raven yelped when the first stream of his seed flooded her mouth, and closed her mouth just in time to suck a bit more, even though she knew what was the sight he wanted to see.
As he pulled back, his cock was still twitching, spurting more and more of his virility in the valley between her mounds, until it slowly started to spill down, glazing her breasts with the sticky proof of his devotion.
And just as he thought he has seen it all, Raven dragged her finger across her breasts, hoping to catch as much of his cum as possible before it all drips to the bed. she parted her fingers to show the sticky strands between them before she closed her lips around them and made him collapse to his back from the simple act of tasting him.
- That was fun - she spoke, as most of his seed made it to her lips. - But you know what every cow needs, right?
Raven asked, lapping the last bit of cum from her tits. She leaned forward and with the same low, salacious tone as before, whispered the words that Beast Boy already had on his mind.
- Her bull...
His green body grew in a split of second, transforming him, but not in the form of the animal Raven expected. While his head became elongated and grew bovine horns, his torso and arms remained human, though much more muscular, and only the addition of hooves on his legs and a tail truly made her realise what he was now: a minotaur.
But of course, hooves and tail was not what piqued Raven's interest the most, as her eyes looked down at the figure towering over her.
This time, she could not stop herself and her lust; Raven licked a small droplet of drool that formed on her lips, and reached her hand to experience the enormous, throbbing organ whose glistening head was now once more inches away from her lips.
But her lover didn't want another blowjob. As steam-like cloud escaped his nostrils, Beast Boy grabbed her and effortlessly slammed her onto his cock, watching as the sorceress lets out a silent moan.
When he went down on her, Raven tried to maintain at least some dignity. But now, as her sex was filled completely with his monstrous cock, she threw all of the pretence away and babbled her lover's name, while the blots on her costume pulse violet each time his cock reached her depths, time after time, depraving her of common sense, as bliss slowly overtook her mind.
But not until she has managed to speak one last wish.
- D-Do what you are supposed to!
Raven screamed, her voice vibrating with the erratic thrusts her entire body was subjected to.
- Mate me! Breed me!
Another roar escaped his mouth, and Raven took a gasp of air just in time to expel it, as Beast Boy shoved himself deeper inside her throbbing pussy that before, firmly positioning himself as far as possible, right against her core, he now bathed in first deluge of his seed. And with his thick, monster cock forming an air-tight seal, not a drop of his virility could leak out, and was forced up into her womb. What would have been impossible for any other man became a child's play for him, letting Raven experience the impossible.
And with the flood of his warm seed filling her, came her orgasm, making Raven thrash around his cock, as if she was a puppet on his mercy. With each wave that flooded and promptly overflowed her sex, came a new sensation of being filled and claimed, and in turn, each simultaneously extinguished fire in her loins, and set it anew...
At some point, Raven fell back to the bed, feeling her pussy pulse with each after-wave of her climax, while Beast Boy's seed oozed onto the bed. She wasn't sure how long her after-glow lasted, but she knew what brought her back to her senses.
Her breasts were kissed again, with the same tender and care the minotaur would never learn. Beast Boy was his regular self, taking care of her body his monstrous form has neglected, listening to her breath slowly becoming less and less erratic.
She looked up and their eyes met, while Garfield locked his lips around her nipple again, drinking her orgasm.
- Hey.
- Hey. - she replied - I guess people were right, those cow costumes do work.
- Rae, you could dress like a platypus and you'd be sexy.
Raven smiled, and her hand reached to her lover's cheek, prompting him to leave her nipple.
Their lips met again, and though she thought she would be tired by now, she welcomed him again, especially as his hands now roamed her thighs and ass.
She let out another moan, seemingly far louder than a moment before, but maybe it was because her voice wasn't drowned by the beast's low grunts, but Garfield's borderline cute huffs.
And even though he was now much shorter and thinner than before, somehow Raven felt fuller than when a giant minotaur ravaged her. Maybe it was his kisses, dotting her breasts and lapping her milky fluid, maybe it was his delicate, but steady grip of his hands on her thighs... or maybe it was the unspoken promise they mentioned...
As they kept coming closer, the empath suddenly grabbed his cheeks and pulled him against her, not to kiss, but to find emotions raging in his mind. And she found them - those of love, protection, dedication and responsibility, which easily pushed her to the edge...
She cried out his name just as he flooded her again, this time with his essence, and even though Raven knew it was impossible, she somehow felt the difference in warmth that filled her sex.
As the two breathed in the same air, Raven gently moved her hand between her body, feeling the warmth of his body above her, and his cock and seed inside. She could undo the spell right now, and change their lives forever... And she had to admit, it would be a very apt moment... but then again, she would rob them of many, many heated moments like these.
It's a good thing she buddied up with Yellow as much as with Violet for this ride.
The two lay ion each other's arms for quite some time, savouring each other's scents and warmth, until Raven found strength and motivation to speak.
- So, got any more silly internet memes trending?
Beast Boy smiled and reached for his phone.
=============
Winter this year was snow-less, rainy and mild, like for the past half a decade or so. But that only made the New Year's eve less cumbersome, as it meant less time traversing through mounds of snow. Plus, it meant the Titans' Tower rooftop wasn't off limits.
- I thought this place, at this time would be the worst to meditate. - Beast Boy spoke - The whole sky's gonna be on fire in five minutes.
- Yeah, but maybe I wanted to watch.
He sat next to her, listening to far-away sounds of concerts and premature celebration. He scooted a few inches closer to her, and let out a short meep when her cape covered him.
- I wonder what this year will bring us. - he spoke, ruining the quiet, charming moment.
- I do - Raven answered quickly. - This year is gonna be of the tiger.
Raven spoke and undid a button of her cape that joined the two, freeing her breasts. Beast Boy swallowed loudly, seeing the moonlight shining onto her skin, and making her bosom look bigger with no additional magic required.
- Why don't we practice, kitty?
And with that, the night's air was filled with a powerful roar of a predator cat that has just found its very willing prey.

Fears (Connor Stoll xReader)
A/N: Did two requests in one, I hope that’s okay :) Should I put a trigger warning about the gifs I’m using? some might need it... -Danny
Words: 1,358
Requests: Hello!! Could you write a Conner xreader where the reader is a child of Phobos and to cheer Conner up from Travis leaving they prank people at camp around Halloween? Sorry for bothering you! // idk if ur taking request so if not just ignore my annoying ass BUT I would fricking love a Connor Stoll x reader where she finds out an Aphrodite girl likes Connor and gets all jealous and gives him the silent treatment and just like ANGST YA KNOW!????
Tumblr media
This was the last not how you were supposed to be spending October.
A child of Phobos is meant to be at their peak during Halloween, but you simply couldn’t, not after the way you’d caught Addison blatantly flirting with your boyfriend. Of course, Connor wasn’t known to be a flirt or anything, but still, that shit hurt.
You were new to the whole ‘relationship’ thing, the kids at camp had an ongoing joke about how awful it’d be to break up with a child of any of the ‘bad gods’ as if there any decent gods out there. They’d say, ‘Imagine having as your ex-partner a child of Hades, they would send zombies after you!’ as if the Demeter kids weren’t known for their love of vengeance.
Connor had been different though, he’d seen you as an individual. It was still quite recent, the relationship between you two, which is the reason why you still had communication problems like this one.
The thing that you didn’t know, was that Addison wasn’t flirting with Connor, she was merely talking to him, but Aphrodite kids are hard to read from a distance, they have this thing in the way they move and act that makes it look like they’re flirting, but it’s just who they are. Either way, what was done was done, and you were upset, and refusing to speak to your very confused boyfriend.
“How long are you going to keep this up?” Your friend asked you with concern. “You should just talk to him! You two look miserable!”
“I can’t,” You pouted. “I’m not ready to listen to what he has to say.”
“Isn’t it better than to be sad for nothing?”
“I’m not sad for nothing!” You defended. “Addison was flirting with him and he…. he just let her do it!”
“Y/N…”
“No, listen,” You continued, ignoring your friend. “I’ve been treated like I’m some kind of little beast, just because of my father! Because I may have inherited his… interests. Big deal, I don’t see anyone running away from Will and he knows how to handle a scalpel!”
“Y/N.”
“And the worst part is the irony! Oh, the freaking irony– I, a child of Phobos, afraid of confrontation! Afraid of what my boyfriend might say! He, a boy!”
“Y/N,” Your friend insisted, their eyes on something behind your back.
“Honestly, if I had known that Addison wanted to date him, I would’ve stood aside, I can’t compete with that!” You rambled.
“Y/N!”
“What?” You finally snapped, looking at her with annoyance. “What is it? Don’t try to convince me otherwise, you know I’m right– Wha- Why are you moving your head like that?”
“I think they’re trying to tell you to stop talking,” Connor’s voice said from behind you. “Because I’m right here.”
“See you later!” Your friend stood up and left, not wanting to hear whatever it was about to go down.
“Shit,” You let out under your breath, closing your eyes tightly. “Please be a nightmare, please be a nightmare.”
“You’ve been avoiding me…” Connor circled your figure and sat down in front of you, right where your friend had been seconds prior. “Weeks… all because you thought Addison was flirting with me?”
“Can’t we pretend you didn’t hear that?”
“Would rather talk about it so I can understand what gave you that impression,” Connor blinked a couple of times, unsure of what to say. “I mean… you know I’m not a fan of Aphrodite children.”
“So you say,” You scoffed. “But c’mon, who in their right mind would say no to them?”
“Who would say no to you?” He asked in disbelief. “Y/N, she was asking me about Travis.”
“What?”
“My brother, you know he left for college and… well, she was just asking if I was okay, apparently she could sense that I was ‘ruining everyone’s vibe’ whatever that means…”
“She wasn’t… she wasn’t flirting with you?”
“No! And even if she were,” Connor frowned, “you should know better than to believe I would just, I don’t know, play along?”
“Oh, Gods,” You blushed. “I’m so sorry!”
“You don’t have to say sorry–”
“I was an idiot! I was so unfair to both of you, judge you like everyone’s judged me, basing all my facts on her godly parent… I’m an idiot.”
“You’re not an idiot,” Connor sighed. “I guess I could’ve talked to you about Travis earlier, that way Addison wouldn’t have had the need to pull it out of my mouth.”
“I should’ve known you were missing your brother,” You retorted. “Of course you do, after all those years together… I knew you were worried and still didn’t ask because I was afraid of getting too personal– I know, I know, a child of Phobos afraid, that’s shocking.”
“I think it makes sense,” Connor smirked. “I’ve met children of Athena that love procrastinating, and Jason Grace’s never been one to enjoy dating several girls at the same time, right? We’re allowed to be different than our parents, and Travis is allowed to build his own life… even if I’m not always there.”
You held his hand and squeezed lightly. He kissed your cheek.
“We good?”
“Yes,” You smiled timidly. “Hey, maybe this is not the best way to handle it, but I have an idea… it might help you feel better about Travis.”
Connor raised a brow. “Okay…”
***
“They’re coming!” You whispered excitedly.
“Then be quiet or they’ll hear us!” Connor said in the same tone.
Sherman approached the big house entrance and spotted the bowl of sweets, he looked at it with feigned disinterest before walking up to it and reach out to grab some candy.
A hand jumped out of it, trying to catch Sherman’s hand. The Ares’ boy let out a squeal at the same time you stood up and took his picture, doubling with laughter as he fought against Connor’s hand.
“You two are going to pay for this!” He said, snatching his hand away in indignation.
“Cheer up, Sherman, it’s a silly joke!” You laughed, throwing him a bag filled with sweets. “There, thank you for helping us!”
“Helping you?” He frowned. “What the hell are you talking about?”
Connor stood up, holding the bowl where his hand was stuck in.
“Our exhibition. Tomorrow morning we’ll put all the pictures we’ve taken so far in something we’ll call the ‘wall of fear’ so far we got Chiara, a few of my siblings, Will, and Chiron.”
“He did not appreciate it,” You grinned.
“Why would I let you do that?” Sherman scowled. “Why would any of us let you show to the rest of camp the pictures?”
“Because we just gave you a bag of free candy.”
“High quality, may I add,” Said Connor proudly. “And this is for the little ones, show them that even the big kids get scared sometimes, and that’s okay…. we also think the faces of the campers when a hand reaches out to grab them are hilarious.”
“Yeah, but we’re not pranking the children. Fifteen up,” You nodded. “We thought the young campers needed a little lift-me-up after all they’ve been through, you know, the wars and… losing siblings…”
Sherman didn’t understand jokes of that kind, but the war he understood, and he knew that soldiers needed incentives to keep fighting. He decided to let it pass just the once, for the little kids that would someday turn into -hopefully- decent heroes.
At the end of the night, you had around forty different pictures, all ready to be displayed. Connor and you sat at the front steps of the house, eating the remaining candy in the bowl, both smiling.
“Did it work?”
“Hmm?”
“Are you feeling better?”
“Think so,” He said. “The pranks were fun, and maybe we’ll make some kids feel better about their fears so they don’t have to hide them from… you know, the people that care about them.”
“Yeah,” You reached out for his hand and held it tightly. “At least I know I won’t do it again.”
“Me neither,” He replied, gazing at you lovingly.

Spencer widened his eyes and rushed to the receiver, standing beside Hotch as the call was put on speaker.
"Morgan-! Morgan, w-where are you?!" He asked hastily, his hands finding the edge of the table and gripping harshly.
"Nngh… I… I think Charleston? The concussion I got from his damn gun isn't helping my vision much. I know we're in West Virginia. I got somebody to send Garcia some coordinates." Morgan explained in a tired voice.
Spencer felt a heavy and relieving sigh leave his chest. Morgan managed to get free. That meant they had a good fighting chance to find you.
Hotch nodded and began to gesture to JJ to talk to Garcia. "Thanks Morgan. Keep in touch and get some help-"
"Hotch, that isn't it. She… I wasn't able to get out on my own. She… she made a deal for my freedom. She said she'd… consent." Morgan revealed, sending a shiver of shock running down his spine.
Spencer’s eyes widened at Morgan’s reveal, feeling his heart break in his chest for you. If he wasn’t already showing it on the outside, he was grieving for you and the pain you had to go through.
"...what?" He asked.
"You know what I mean, Reid. He already raped her once. Right in front of me and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. Just… just get here dammit. She doesn't have too much longer."
Hotch sighed. "Alright. We're on our way now. Just get some help for those injuries. We're unfortunately going to need you as a guide."
Spencer was still in shock, his anger growing slightly as he made the promise to kill Peter if he got the chance. He had done the worst thing he could do to you. And Spencer was pissed.
"Got it Hotch." Morgan replied, hanging up shortly after.
"Wait!"
Spencer looked up at the stairs, still seething from what he’d learned of your experience, and saw a frantic Garcia rushing down the stairs. "Wait! Did-Did he already hang up?" She asked.
Prentiss nodded. Garcia whined and groaned. "Damn it. At least he's okay. I got the coordinates. It does in fact center in on the Charleston police station." Garcia informed.
Spencer looked down, took a deep breath, and began to think, the gears moving in his head. Rossi looked up and raised an eyebrow.
"I know that look. What you got, Reid?" He asked.
Spencer bit his lip for a moment before he quickly opened his satchel bag. "Garcia, did you run those properties? Everything Peter’s ever purchased?"
Garcia raised an eyebrow. "Well, yeah. But nothing stands out."
"Well, narrow that down to properties bought in the last 5-6 months and near the Charleston area." Spencer urged.
Garcia's eyes widened and she smiled at Spencer. "Goody gumdrops, this is why we call you the resident genius, g-man." She says, hurrying back up the stairs. "I'll call you guys with the info on the jet. Just get down there and find our other genius." Garcia insisted.
Hotch nodded. "Right. Wheels up in ten. We need to get down there and fast. Like Morgan said, (Y/N) may not have much time before he relocates her. Or worse."
At Hotch's final statement, the team dispersed to get their go-bags and gear to get on the jet. Each of the members had a determined look on their face. Spencer would be lying if he said that didn't comfort him even just a bit.
Spencer hurried towards his desk and slung the strap of his go bag across his shoulder, rushing towards the jet before anyone else. But who could blame him?
The rest of the team joined him one by one on the jet, each giving him their version of a look of pity. But Spencer wasn't paying attention, all he was doing, was trying to figure out how they planned to find you.
"Hey…" Spencer heard.
"Hey." He said quickly, never looking up from the seemingly interesting wood pattern of the table in front of him.
"We're here if you need anything." JJ smiled down at Spencer as the plane began to take off. Spencer, still not looking up, just nodded and mumbled an incoherent form of 'yeah'
JJ frowned, but didn't push it, taking her seat quickly. Prentiss sat a seat ahead of him, Rossi and Hotch being a few seats away across the walkway.
Spencer never broke his concentration on the table, his mind wandering to each and every possible outcome for this. He didn't want to lose you. He'd already lost too many people. He couldn't lose you too.
A single tear fell from his eye, encouraging him to close his eyes tiredly. He sighed gently, rubbing his thighs.
Then, the thud of a chess set case echoed in front of him, jolting him from his concentration. Spencer quickly wiped away the tear, blinking a few times as he looked up to see who had dropped the set.
Rossi leaned against the seat in front of Spencer and gestured towards it. "Mind if I join you?" He asked.
Spencer took a moment before he nodded silently, trying to re-focus on reality. Rossi took the seat in front of Spencer and opened up the set, setting up the pieces with white in front of himself and black in front of Spencer.
"You know, we can all see right through you." Rossi spoke casually, continuing his set up.
"What do you mean?" Spencer asked. Rossi hummed for a moment, finishing up his set up.
"We can all see how much you care for her. It's almost like you like her or something." Rossi teased gently, flashing a knowing look and a smirk at Spencer.
"T-there was never an attempt to deceive you all, I-I do like her." Spencer answered, fumbling with the king piece he had subconsciously grabbed.
"Oh?" Rossi replied, pausing for a moment. "You didn't say anything."
"T-that's because statistically only 60% of all relationships end up working out. Especially those that start with very little time in the beginning to get to know each other. And… adding the fact that I am socially awkward, unable to flirt properly like Morgan has tried to teach me, and that I am increasing in age, the probability of anything working out between her and me are slim. I didn't want to rush into anything without being sure." Spencer rambled, gesturing with his hands as he nervously went through all of what he thought were aspects of why he wasn't made for you.
Rossi raised an eyebrow as he took his first move. "Kid, you always listen to those statistics but never your heart. That's your problem. You know," Rossi began, beginning to talk in his story-telling tone. Spencer took his turn, trying to focus on both the conversation and the game. It was a little tough.
"My second wife, she always told me that I worked too much. Wrote too much and never spent that much time with her. Though my heart kept saying I wanted to. I never listened. And now here I am, three wives down and a dozen books added to my collection. Don't be me, Kid. When we find her, you're gonna run to her, and hold her in your  arms again. If that feels right, holding her like that, she's the one." Rossi encouraged, taking a second move.
Spencer’s eyes wandered over the board before quickly taking his next move and tanking three of Rossi's pawns. Rossi widened his eyes and nodded to Spencer, impressed.
"I… I know I want to be with her Rossi. But I also know that, after traumatic events, it takes 6 months or more for a victim to recover and get back into their daily routines. Let alone start anything new. I don't want to add to her pain, or start our potential relationship on her thinking I'm using her. Or her just using me for comfort and then leaving me after she's better." Spencer debated, watching as Rossi took another turn.
Spencer then spoke up. "Check."
Rossi raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "Reid, do you know her to be that type of person? To use someone for her own benefit?" He asked, taking his next move.
"No…" he replied, taking his as well.
"Then should you be worried about her doing so?"
"No…" Spencer sighed, shaking his head as he watched Rossi take another turn.
"Then don't worry about it. Just trust your gut. And follow your heart before it betrays you." Rossi says, taking his hand off of his piece.
Spencer then moved his, and called out. "Checkmate."
Rossi chuckled. "Well, you are the undefeated champion of the BAU. I should've expected that." He laughed. Spencer’s lips curled into a gentle smile.
"You could do it, you just have to focus on the logic." Spencer says, smiling at Rossi.
"Eh, who needs logic when you've got aged wine and some good pasta? Solves every problem." Rossi teased, beginning to get up.
"Rossi, a-actually…" Spencer began.
Rossi turned his head, facing Spencer and encouraging him to continue.
Spencer sighed. "Would you mind playing one more round? It… it's helping me clear my head."
Rossi smiled and nodded. "Sure. I haven't gotten my butt kicked enough yet today."
Spencer chuckled gently, and helped Rossi begin another game. He was still worried about you, but you were going to be okay. He… had to trust his heart.

You bit your lip as he finished, exhaling long and hard. He sounded satisfied. You knew he was. You hadn't fought him. You hadn't moaned either. Sure, you still felt the effect of what he was doing to you, but the horror and the pain overwhelmed the faint pleasure you had felt.
Peter pulled himself from you and fastened his pants back, leaving you against the wall. "That was amazing… better than the first time. Such a slut for me." He slurs, causing a painful shiver to run down your spine towards your bruised core.
You looked towards the wall, refusing to look at him or let him see you cry. He didn't deserve to. Nor would he get the pleasure.
"Oh come on, you liked it." He insisted, standing up and rebuttoning his pants.
You still refuse to reply, your bottom lip quivering softly. Peter rolled his eyes and kicked your shin, causing you to cry out in sudden pain.
"Such a weak thing. Big ol' FBI agent? Pathetic." Peter snarled as he pulled a gun from his back pocket. You looked up at him, fearful of your life.
"W-what… what are you going to do with that?" You ask, trying to mask your fear.
"What do you think, bitch? I had to let that bastard go so I could get you to listen. Now, I gotta go kill him so nobody ever finds you. Just relax, I'll be back for round two." Peter grinned, not missing the crack in your voice or the sob that came from your throat.
The cellar door slammed, and you curled up your weakening body. You then began to silently cry. All of this would soon be for nothing if Morgan didn't get somewhere else in time. You felt hopeless and alone. Not even thinking of the dance you had invited Spencer to was able to calm you. All you could do was cry, and hope to whatever God there was that you'd make it to see the other side.

Morgan sighed and winced as the medic bandaged his leg properly. "Watch it man, I still need that leg to find my friend." He hissed. The medic nodded his apologies and continued his first aid.
It wasn't long after that the doors of the police station opened, and in walked his entire team. Hotch and Reid were the first ones to approach Morgan.
"Hey… how're you feeling?" Hotch asked.
"Eh… like I got hit by a semi truck. Twice. But I'll live. What do you all got?"
"Garcia and I narrowed down Peter's properties and found he purchased a large portion of land nearby in the last 5-6 months. He also had work done on it to build a cellar." Spencer explained.
"That's gotta be where he held us. I was only able to see the way we got there from the car. Couldn't tell you the directions to the place though. I can take you all back to the cellar though. If I retrace my steps." Morgan assured, adjusting his position. The medic continued to fuss over Morgan, trying to keep him still so that they could work.
"Morgan, if you can't walk or are unable to help us, you'll be the best help here getting as much rest as you can-" Hotch began.
"I ain't a vegetable Hotch! If I can get up and I can walk, I'm gonna go with you. I want to help you all get justice served to this bastard on a silver fucking plate." Derek seethed, his hands forming fists at his sides.
Hotch sighed and nodded, knowing it would be of no use to argue with Morgan now. "Alright, just let us know if you need to take a break." He assures before he begins getting the police and the SWAT team ready to search the woods.
Spencer began to turn to do the same, before Morgan grabbed his hand, pulling him back. Spencer raised an eyebrow, a bit confused by the action.
"Reid… kid… I gotta warn you… she's not in the best mental state. She's gonna try and get away from you at first. She's...not going to look her best is what I'm saying." Derek sighed, letting his hand fall.
Spencer nodded. "Of course. I-I'll try and calm her before I approach her. Promise." He says, flashing Morgan a gentle smile.
"And… one more thing…" Spencer added, sighing gently. Morgan looked up at the younger man, encouraging him to continue.
"Is she… does she blame me at all? Is she injured fatally? Anything I need to know?" He asked, beginning to ramble his worries.
"Pretty boy… calm down for a minute. No, she doesn't blame you. She's gonna be hurt, but not that bad. She's sick though. Probably an infection causing her fever." Morgan answered, rubbing Spencer’s lower arm.
Spencer sighed in relief and closed his eyes. "Thank you."
"'Course. Now come on, let's go find her and bring that asshole to Justice." Morgan enthused, slowly rising to his feet and beginning to limp towards the exit.
○●♡●○
"Are you sure it's nearby, Morgan?" Hotch asked, aiding Morgan in walking through the woods. Spencer was ahead of them, looking for anything that resembled a cellar door that Morgan had described.
"Yes, I recognize the gravel trail. There was a ton of it, that's how we knew he was coming. The rumble of the gravel." Derek insisted, wincing as he put all of his weight on his bad foot for a moment to climb up the slight hill.
Spencer urgently looked to and fro for any sign of a cellar or even some brush that looked out of place. He heard the feet of the search dogs behind them, breaking his concentration for a few moments.
Spencer shook his head and sighed, wishing he had better navigation skills. Then, he spotted an area of gravel that began to collect together. He furrowed his eyebrows for a moment before he slowly advanced towards the northside of the rock that prevented him from seeing the rest of the gravel. The team thankfully followed behind him, preventing him from having to instruct them on where he was going. He pulled out his gun slowly and aimed it in front of him as he advanced forward.
It took him a few minutes, as the rock had turned into a large hill that was just on an incline. But as soon as he reached the bottom, he saw the wooden door. He rushed over to the door, trying the handle only to find it locked.
The team met up with him and saw his struggle. "Is it locked?" Hotch asked.
"Yes, just… Hotch?" He asked, looking to his boss pleadingly. He was so close, so damn close. One door couldn't be the dividing force. He wasn't going to lose you over a damn locked door.
Hotch sighed and rolled up his sleeves, nodding to Spencer. "Move out of the way, Reid." He says. Spencer does so, and not a minute later Hotch kicks the door in and the cellar is soon filled with the team.
"FBI!" Hotch called.
You shrieked and began to shrink into the corner as much as you could, pulling on your chains as they came in. "P-please! P-please don't do it again! I-I don't want it! I don't want to, please!" You beg while sobbing, holding up two hands in front of your face to prevent being hit. It broke Spencer’s heart to see you so terrified.
Hotch shared a glance with Spencer, earning a gesture from Spencer that meant 'wait'.
Spencer then slowly approached you, not even trying to keep his tears from falling. "Hey… I'm not going to hurt you, (Y/N/N). Promise."
You slowly moved your hands, shivering in fear. Spencer finally reached you and gently touched your hands with his warm ones, finding yours extremely cold. "See? You don't have to be afraid of me." He tightened his hold on your hands, rubbing his thumbs against your cold fingers. "Let's get you out of here, okay? I'm a doctor, you can trust me." He looked into your eyes with hope that you would see the truth in them. And he thinks you did.
You bite your lip and finally give him a good look. You saw his tear-stained face and his worried eyes, feeling a deep realization fill your body. Your mind's haze finally began to lift, and you recognized him again. You felt your eyes fill with tears, blurring your vision. You then immediately pulled him closer to you, albeit slowly. You wrapped your arms around him tightly, as much as the chains would allow.
"S-spence… y-you found me…" you whisper hoarsely, trying not to sob. Spencer bit his lip and smiled happily, holding you close to his chest. He held a hand to your back and cradled your head with the other.
"Yeah… I did…" he whispered. He turned his head towards Hotch and gestured towards your shackles. He mouthed the word 'keys' before he turned back to you. Hotch nodded, and quickly found the keys on the hook.
Morgan took the keys from Hotch and came towards Reid and you.
You turned your head and let out a relieved gasp and sob as you see Morgan approach you, still holding onto Spencer as you did.
"Y-you're alive…" you whispered, smiling gently. He nodded, taking the key and unlocking both of your shackles.
"I am, kid." He says.
Once you felt your heart stop pounding, you also felt an exhaustion wash over you. You slowly close your eyes, laying in Spencer’s arms as you fell into a healing sleep.
Spencer smiled down at you, the smile quickly fading as he saw the numerous injuries that littered your body. He adjusted your form and began to carry you bridal style. Your head immediately leaned towards his chest, making his heart swell for a few moments. You were extremely warm to the touch other than your fingers and feet. He knew he'd have to get you to a hospital for medical attention quickly.
But for right now, you were safe. Even if Peter was still out there. But you were safe. That was all that mattered to him.

Aone likes knitting socks because he has big feet and he loves fluffy knee high socks but his team will never know

daICHI HAS A KISS THE COOK APRON
Daichi secretly can make some kick ass steak and is amazing at grilling sorry
Okay but real talk, Kenma and Yaku swear like sailors and it scares everyone because they always whisper the most foul, insulting things under their breath. Hearing it is like seeing a cryptid
Speaking of cryptids, Fukunaga and Shibayama are THE most true crime, mythology, and mystery obsessed fanatics on the team and often fanboy about it together
Fukunaga’s obsession with moth man has gotten to an unhealthy stage
Kenma absolutely had a vampire phase and has read twilight. Only Kuroo knows and has sworn to secrecy via blood pact
Kuroo’s a musical nerd. Knows all of the lyrics to Hamilton, BMC, DEH, Heathers, Rent, Beetlejuice, Etc. Kenma considered dropping him because of it
Iwaizumi tells the worst dad jokes and Kyotani, wanting to beat him, started doing it too and it drives everyone insane
Yahaba and Matsukawa get along surprisingly well. Both are true crime freaks and bond over their forensic files obsessions
Matsukawa didn’t really like his thick eyebrows so he got one of his female friends to pluck it for him, but almost cried and gave up after the first hair. Oikawa called him a pussy for the next year
Hanamaki jokingly flirts with everyone on the team so most of them just got used to it, but it still confuses Kindaichi to the point of mental breakdown
Makki called Kyotani ‘puppy’ as a joke once and now mad dog is truly terrified of him
Kyotani’s dog absolutely ADORES Oikawa and it’s the funniest shit to the rest of the team
Mattsun and Makki play DnD and once convinced Yahaba and Kyotani to join. Kyotani kept rolling to fight everyone and Yahaba was a bard that kept rolling to seduce everyone. They kept yelling across the board so they had to kick them out
Outside of his school uniform, Goshiki specifically wears only plaid
Tendou makes little chocolates for the whole team every once in a while so they don’t think he’s scary
Semi and Shirabu once had a fistfight in an abandoned McDonald’s parking lot while Tendou filmed and Goshiki cheered them on
Everybody makes fun of Shirabu’s haircut but nobody dares to say it to his face. its gotten to the point where they say he got it done by a blind old lady
There’s a running joke about Shirabu also getting his haircut from prison but Goshiki is starting to suspect that it may not be a joke
Yamagata and Tendou are good friends with the mutual goal of collecting as much blackmail on their team as possible
Tendou loves animals generally considered to be ‘ugly’ like rats, crows, reptiles, etc.
80% of Goshiki’s playlist is shit overplayed on the radio. Him, Shirabu, Tendou, Kawanishi and Ushijima have a permanent ban from the aux cord
Nobody watches YouTube with Ushijima because he never skips the damn ads (other than tendou)
Suna once said y’all’dn’t’ve unironically and made a first year cry
Akagi once said UwU unironically and had an identity crisis.
Osamu has one of those rainbow gaming keyboards and is constantly on a discord call. Atsumu always yells weird shit in the background to embarrass him and once pretended to be him
During Seijoh group chat arguments. Hanamaki and Mattsukawa like to drop facebook minion memes in just to piss everyone off even more
mattsun and maki both have separate photo albums in their phones labelled ‘minion memes to piss everyone off’
Hinata carries a pocket knife and no one has no fucking idea why
mattsun and maki both have matching rat fursuits that look like they actually where in a sewer- they chased oikawa around
For all his talk of plant analogies and metaphors, Ushijima cant grow shit
Goshiki’s Bangs are the way they are because his favorite character was Rock Lee from Naruto
Oikawa has watched Ouran High School Host Club front to back so many times and he can quote all of Tamaki’s lines by heart -He keeps bothering Iwaizumi to “be his Haruhi, since you’re shorter than me”
Koganegawa has definitely gone as an Angry Bird for Halloween
Fukunaga has those reflective cat eyes, and he has terrified Yamamoto on several occasion
Hanamaki and Matsukawa have a teddy bear that they pretend is their child and they share custody
Suga always sprays whipped cream straight into his mouth whenever he sees a can
Nishinoya definitely bit people as a kid
Nishinoya would be the guy to wear shorts all year round and even if it's snowing, he'll insist he's not cold
Tendou is still stuck in his emo phase and would fangirl over Creepypasta with me and I appreciate that (me too buddy, me fuckin too)
Kyoutani LOOKS like he’d listen to viking death metal, but in reality he listens to Mother Mother and knows all the words to Ghosting
Sugawara would definitely encourage me to dumb shit and not stop me, and you’re all dumb for thinking he wouldn’t
KENMA IS NOT ‘uwu owo’ SHY, HE IS ‘your fucking gross’ SHY SO LITERALLY STFU
Bokuto listens to Nicki Manaj. And knows all the words. To every. Single. Song.
Ushijima for some reason knows an odd amount of 90′s-2000′s R&B and he will hum along to the songs if they come on the radio (he also loves Dolly Parton) ((he says he relates to her music))
Bokuto once ate instant ramen for an entire month
TERUSHIMA DID TRY TO FUCK A PLANT WHILE SHITFACED AND GOD I STAND BY WHAT I SAID
atsumu let’s you put makeup on him and pretends to eat the brushes (do yk what im talking about- like n o m)
tendou ran for school president as a joke but actually won
i 100% believe that all of karasuno’s third years apologize when they bump into inanimate objects, but when suga is really tired or stressed out, he’ll yell at them instead.
Tanaka, Nishinoya, and Taketora have a group chat called "Bros who want sum hoes" and they send each other hypebeast memes and shit
Sugawara knows how to do a bunch of flexible shit because he sometimes goes to yoga with daichi and asahi's moms, its fucking hilarious
tanaka and noya both breakdance- they work as a team and sometimes go to tokyo for underground competitions- saeko drives them
Daichi knows a little ballet- nobody other than Kiyoko knows because they saw each other at the ballet class and had to work together- dont tell tanaka and noya that he lifted her though
Osamu once put glitter on Atsumu's pillow- he still finds hot pink glitter on shit
kita knits and crochets with his grandma
Kita's grandma knows everyone's names because kita talks shit bout them, her favorite is Aran
Kuroo has burnt his eyebrows off doing an experiment. His goggles didn't cover all his brows,,, so he just showed up to practice like that. No eyebrows and a chemical burn
kenma has played all kinds of games, but he was dared to play corpse party by kuroo. He wasn't scared because of the gore, he was thinking about the trauma the characters went through. Punched kuroo the next day because that game was fucked up
Lev isn't a strong swimmer, so he often grabs people by the head to keep himself up. happened with kenma and lev couldn't walk due to the force of kenmas suprised water kicks
akaashi has those fancy pens that you have to dip in ink and they're so nice
Bokuto has and will eat pencil erasers again
Daichi once almost lost his shit at his team but instead he lost his shit at the door that decided to stub his toe on the way out of the gym. not the best thing to be found yelling to.
Yamaguchi for sure has been dragged to one of terushimas parties because he didnt wanna say no. oh and terushima has like frat boy level parties too. Yams has for sure had some wild nights and doubts anyone other than Tsukishima and the party-goers will ever know
Akaashi can actually flirt very well! He reads romance novels sometimes and has analyzed any and every book in his possession! so he's actually quite charming
Daihsou unironically posted on twitter after mika broke up with him "I still see her shadows in my room"
Mattsun and Maki run a fake oikawa account; its been going ever since twitter even started getting popular and they even started sending messages in spanish. The posts would range from "I love all my fans!" to flirting with them :) Oikawa is pissed cause the account got verified before he did and most of his fans also follow the fake oikawa. Tooru has no idea who runs it JUST IMAGINE OIKAWA JUST LIKE RANTING TO THE SEIJOH 3RD YEAR ALUMNI AND JUST "no Iwa-chan, you dont understand! they run a fake account and pretend to be me!" while makki and mattsun laugh their asses off
Oh, kenma for sure has pretended to be a girl on discord and has gotten someone to buy him stuff. after they do he says in his normal voice "fucking simp" and then hangs up and blocks the other persons discord
Yamamoto, despite his rough appearance, loves kids and has and will be a human jungle gym
suna in middle school had a game with his friends about who could make kids cry the fastest
The twins switched places back in middle school and nobody could tell because of how great they are at acting like eachother
Daichi once arrested coach ukai for public intoxication after a game :|
Daichi has arrested many people from his old volleyball team but the most memorable case was when he arrested tanaka and noya for reckless driving. poor idiots got so scared when they saw their old captains face in their mirror and started to pray
tanaka, while trying to intimidate someone, once said "You dont gotta tell me twice, i may be straight but these hands are bisexual" and he often cringes at night thinking about it
Kageyama, as a comeback to Tsukishima, said "one thing about us royalty is that we love to feast" and he also fuckin hates what he said
the third years made a cult for Kiyoko. they chant every wednesday "i'll do anything for kiyoko, she makes me go loco"
oikawas fangirls are known to be fucking rabid
yAMAMOTO AND KENMA AFTER THEIR FIGHT WERE FORCED BY KUROO TO MAKE IT UP: so they dyed their hair together
Makki and mattsun sang two trucks in front of the entire team. everyone was so confused. Makki: "twO TRUCKS HAVIN SEX!!" Mattsun: "oH yEs!"THEY'D SWITCH OFF AND HAVE LIKE CHOREOGRAPHY TOO LIKE THEY'D DO A TANGO WHILE THE SONG IS LIKE "two beer trucks, making love"
tendou once called Oikawa "mr. no-nationals" and got kicked in the shins before iwaizumi could save him
Tsukishima had a my little pony phase
you work with matsukawa at a morgue and he makes dead people jokes while you fix some dead guys face with wax and makeup he'd be like "so didnt he like,,, stick his head out of the sunroof of a moving fuckin car??" he'd be singing dumb ways to die the entire day
i feel like Kuroo has one crazy accident a year. like it might not be deadly but its fucking crazy like for example: Kuroo for sure has ridden in a shopping cart at past midnight with kenma (who pushed him down a hill) causing Kuroo to get scratched up hella well. he lied and said he spent the night with a girl and kenma fucking hated himself cause he would be the girl if that was true
Mattsun has flirted with the 4th years moms before (AS A JOKE), and because of this: he is known as “fuckin milf hunter” sometimes by the team
Warning, this next headcanon is talking about cannabis, weed, mary jane, the zoink root. so if your uncomfortable, please dont read below :)
dude i wanna get high as SHIT with Asahi
i think Asahi would be one of those mfkers who takes one hit and is gone
ASAHI ACCIDENTALLY GOING TO PRACTICE ZOINKED
IMAGINE HIM SEEING TSUKISHIMA AND JUST "he looks so judgemental,,, im scared"
OR LIKE A MAD DAICHI AND JUST "i'm gonna,,, im gonna go jump out the window now"
Noya and Tanaka would know tho, i feel like they'd have a 6th sense when it comes to weed. they probably get some from Saeko cause she'd rather they do it in the house. they'd smell asahi like fucking dogs and just so,,, big guy had fun without us huh?
DAICHI WOULD KNOW ABOUT ASAHI BEING ZOINKED, SMASH HIS FACE INTO THE WALL, TURN AROUND WITH A RED MARK ON HIS FOREHEAD AND WITH A BEAMING SMILE AND FEUX ENTHUSIASM SAY: "YOSH, LETS WARM UP!"

Breath Control Chapter Two
here’s chapter two... unfortunately had to repost these first three chapters bc Tumblr deleted them or something!!
TWO
“Feyre. Have you done any work for the past hour we have been sitting here?”
Elain’s voice barely managed to penetrate my thoughts. I looked down at my textbook and shook my head. I had very bad cases of a hangover and a sour stomach. And embarrassment. And a broken heart.
Thriving.
“Will you please just talk to me?”
I’d met Elain at the library an hour ago, both of us planning to get some serious homework done before the week got started. I’d managed to tell Elain a little of what had happened last night but she hadn’t pried until now.
“I don’t think I can talk about it.”
She huffed out a breath. “Feyre. If anyone knows what it feels like to have a broken heart, it would be me. So maybe I could help if you’d just talk to me.”
That’s right. Elain’s ex-boyfriend, Grayson, had broken up with her unexpectedly over the summer. Elain, positive he would be the man she married, and subsequently being denied admissions to the nursing schools she was trying to get into for grad school, had been in bad shape for a couple of months. I wasn’t sure if she was really okay now, or if she was just better at hiding it. She’d attended Mortal University for her undergraduate degree and had wanted to stay there for her masters--and hadn’t gotten in. Luckily she’d applied to Prythian’s school and had been accepted, but it wasn’t where she had wanted to end up at all. Away from her friends and our father, she’d started nursing school at the same time I’d started my sophomore year and I was pretty sure I was her only friend.
Looked like she was my only friend, too.
I sighed. Then explained. Tamlin and Ianthe all over each other. My public humiliation. And Rhys, unexpectedly driving me home and taking care of me, which was probably the most unexplainable part of the entire night. I hated it, but Tamlin’s behavior had hurt me but not surprised me. I’d barely said two words to Rhys the entire time I’d been at Prythian. We had a big swim team, about sixty people strong. Rhys and his friends--Cassian, Amren, Azriel, and Mor--were all in the middle distance group. Tamlin and Ianthe were sprinters. I swam distance, for the most part. The different training groups and large numbers made it difficult to bond with every single team member, so I didn’t know Rhys or his group at all.
“Are you talking about Rhysand Night? That boy is hot.”
I did a double-take. That was a very brazen statement coming from Elain. “When have you ever even seen him?”
She raised her eyebrows. “I’ve been to your swim meets, you know. It’s easy to tell who has the best body and face from the stands.”
I groaned. “He saw me puke, Elain! I drunkenly poured my heart out to him. He must think I’m some kind of idiot. And now I am friendless on the team. Friendless. Especially after Rhys tells all his friends how pathetic I am.” I leaned over and put my face on my textbook. “I should quit now and cut my losses.”
Elain whacked me on the arm. “You most certainly will not quit! That beautiful boy was just--”
“Feyre?”
I stilled. If I hadn’t recognized that voice last night, I definitely did now. Positive my cheeks were a flaming red, I slowly sat up.
“Hey, Rhys,” I said meekly, my hand coming up in a very awkward wave. I shoved it back down.
“You ladies talking about beautiful boys? Surely no one around here, right?” He asked smoothly, folding his arms and leaning against a bookshelf.
Thank God Elain blushed for me. “Nobody you’d know.”
He raised his brows and I prayed he hadn’t heard anything else. “Hey, I was going to text you. . . Then I realized I didn’t have your number. You left your wallet in my car last night… I didn’t find it until this morning. It’s in my backpack. I can go grab it and bring it to you.”
I couldn’t believe I hadn’t even realized it was gone. “No, no, I’ll come with you. You don’t have to make another trip.” And ignoring his protests I jumped up and took off through the shelves. For some reason, I didn’t want him anywhere near Elain when she was casually throwing about the word “beautiful.” I scoffed. He wasn’t that attractive.
I was halfway through the stacks when I realized I didn’t actually know where I was going. “Uh…”
“All my friends are over there. Are you sure you don’t want me to just grab it for you and bring it to you here?”
I stopped in my tracks. I had the feeling he knew I wasn’t in the mood to speak to anyone right now. A mood I had been in for the past few months, but. . . I blew out a breath.  “Um. Yeah. Thank you.”
He squeezed past me, and for a moment I found myself so close to him I could feel his body heat as he turned and sidestepped through the narrow space between me and the shelves. I could have sworn he was holding his breath as he passed, and I had to crane my neck to see his face. Our eyes met. I shivered.
Then he was gone. I blew out another breath and slumped against the shelf behind me. What was wrong with me? I’d been broken up with Tamlin for less than twenty-four hours and I was already noticing other guys. Disgusted with myself, I stared at the titles across from me.
Rhys was back in less than a minute, my wallet in his outstretched hand. I took it from him, taking extra care not to brush his hand with mine. “Thanks.”
I made to turn around and return to the safety of Elain’s aura when he reached out and brushed my shoulder. “Are you doing okay? You know, after everything?”
“You don’t have to worry about me, Rhys. You already made sure I got home okay.”
He crossed his arms. “Yeah but I’d kind of be an asshole if I didn’t at least check in. Now tell me. Are you okay?”
His gaze didn’t falter from mine as he looked at me. His gorgeous face was serious. He was really asking. He wanted a genuine answer. Good or bad, he wanted to know.
“No.”
And when I turned around, he let me go.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rest of the day passed in a blur. Elain and I spent six hours in the library and I skipped out on the girls’ team dinner, claiming I had homework. I spent the evening locked in my room, dreading the inevitable moment when I ran into Ianthe, who was, after all, my roommate. Bitch, I muttered under my breath.
It was eight o’clock and I had no plans for the rest of my evening, so I changed into my pajamas and flopped on the bed. Fully prepared to spend the night binging a TV show, I retrieved ice cream from my fridge and got under the covers. An hour into The Witcher, I got a text.
Rhysand Night: You’re going to practice in the morning, right?
I frowned. He was clearly texting the wrong person. And how did he have my number?
I opened the text and discovered that he had texted his phone from mine last night…
Me: I was planning on it
Rhysand Night: Just checking. I know you may not feel like going right now, but I don’t want to see you getting in trouble
Being a part of a college level swim team meant twenty hours of training a week. Practice at 5:30 in the morning most weekdays and again in the afternoon. I didn’t know why Rhys felt the need to check on me--missing practice meant getting chewed out by the head coach. If you missed more than one practice, you got suspended. No way would I blatantly take that risk.
Me: I’ll be there
I shut off my phone and went to bed.
----------------
I barely dragged myself out of practice the next morning. And the morning after that. And the morning after that. For two weeks after Halloween, I ignored Ianthe as much as humanly possible. She made no attempt to apologize. Tamlin had even kept his distance. I showed up at practice, swam (albeit poorly), went to class, went to practice, and went home. I was reaching new levels of anti-social. Elain was busy with study groups and classes and Nesta wouldn’t be in town for another week. She worked as a flight attendant and split her time between our father's and her and Elain’s shared place.
I just couldn’t bring myself to do anything besides school and swim. The fact that I had wasted a year of my life on Tamlin Spring was tearing me apart from the inside out. And breaking up with him had made me realize all of the things I had wasted my life on for the past year. Why was I pursuing a degree in exercise science when I loved literature and art? Why had I put all my effort into one friendship with a bitch who had stabbed me in the back at her first opportunity? I had no other friends on the swim team I had chosen during my recruitment process, thinking it was the “place for me.” I was in the wrong place, had chosen the wrong people, and was aiming for the wrong future. The worst part was, it was all my fault. My blindness had seeped into every part of my life and I barely knew who I was without my overbearing boyfriend and the friend who had steered me around for my entire college experience.
On Thursday morning, over a week and a half after the Halloween party, Coach King texted me to meet him in his office after my classes for the day were over. I hadn’t been able to stop thinking about it since. An impromptu meeting with Coach King usually implied a fate worse than death. At this point, I deserved anything he had to say to me. My grades had fallen in the past few weeks (I had failed a test on Monday and two quizzes since then) and my training had continued to worsen.
My suspicions proved correct when I arrived for the meeting and Coach King started explaining the reason he had called me to his office. He mentioned my grades and my training and the fact that I had barely spoken or shown any signs of life at practice for days. He wanted to know what was wrong. He wanted to know what he could do to help. But mostly, he wanted me to fix it--fast. Then he told me he was moving me to the middle distance training group.
“Wh--what?!”
Moving training groups in the middle of the year was unheard of. Potentially season-ending. If he was moving me from distance to middle distance, he was most likely saying I wouldn’t travel or compete for the rest of the year. It took time to adjust to a new training regimen.
I tried to protest, but he told me he had made his decision and felt I was more cut out for middle distance events anyway. The adjustment wouldn’t be too drastic. And he wanted me to take the rest of the week off and start fresh on Monday.
That’s the thing about college athletics. Coaches can be great coaches. They can get a team from nothing to something quick if they know what they’re doing. Some can even do that and help their swimmers develop as people, too. But for most coaches, when it came down to it, weakness was weakness, no matter the reason. And I was currently the weakest link on the team. Coach King had to do something about it and this was apparently the best he could come up with.
I mumbled something to Coach King about seeing the sports psychologist and trying harder at the new practices. I felt certain he had vague ideas about the couples on the team, so he probably knew about my Tamlin situation. I didn’t feel the need to mention it to him. I left his office and made it all the way down the five flights of stairs and out the back entrance into the cloudy, chilly afternoon before I allowed myself to cry.
I had messed up my life so royally that I had no idea how to fix it. I wouldn’t be surprised if Coach King kicked me off the team in a matter of weeks. We had a travel meet coming up, and I felt certain that I wouldn’t make the cut. I’d be stuck at Prythian U while all my teammates that I had developed no relationship with would travel.
Head down, I was rushing to my car as my tears fell when I ran headfirst into a warm body.
“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry--”
“We have to stop meeting like--Feyre.”
“Rhys.” I kept my eyes on the crack in the parking lot pavement at my feet.
“Are you okay?”
“You’ve got to stop asking me that question! I know you don’t care! Let me deal with this by myself.” I made to push past him but he followed me to my car anyways.
“Feyre. I do care. I’m your teammate. And it doesn’t seem like anybody else on the team is lining up to ask how you’re doing, so I’m here to do that. I want to help you.” Something in his voice made me pause, but I couldn’t figure out what it was.
“Just fuck off. You don’t even know me.”
He threw up his hands as I struggled to unlock my extremely old Volkswagen with the key fob. My tears and anger were making it very hard to open the door.
“For God’s sake, Feyre! Would you stop being so damn difficult and let someone help you? You’ve been a ghost at practice these past few weeks and Coach King just told me you were moving to my training group.”
I unlocked my car and wrenched it open. “Leave me alone.”
Rhys grabbed my car door and refused to let me close it. I glared at his stupid, gorgeous, violet eyes. “I bet you like this. An excuse to just give up, get yourself kicked off the team. Much easier than having to face Tamlin at practice everyday, much easier than having to make new friends.”
I narrowed my eyes. And slapped him across the face.
He touched his cheek. A spark of satisfaction lit up against the confusion and depression that lived within my gut. I had surprised him. And shut him up.
“Wow. I guess I deserved that. But you know I’m right.”
And the fact was, I did. He had said out loud what was going on deep inside me, what I was dangerously close to giving in to. I was shocked someone I barely knew could even begin to fathom what was going on so deep within my brain that I had yet to admit it to myself.  But most of all, I was angry. Angry that this boy thought he had some sort of right to me pouring out my heart to him or at the very least accepting his help. He wasn’t a captain. He had no jurisdiction over me.
“Fine! You’re right! Are you happy now?” I wanted to wipe the smug look off his face. I cast around for something, anything to make him understand even a little bit what I was feeling. “Any other accusations you want to spit at me to make me hate myself more than I already do?”
His smirk fell. Satisfied once more, I thought he’d let me leave, but he held fast to my car door.
“Tell me what to do to help you. Tell me and I’ll do it.”
I blinked. I thought he would yell at me some more. I hadn’t expected such an open offer, more raw and entreating than anything Tamlin had ever said to me.
I hated that my year with Tamlin had made me think that a guy treating me nicely was a rare commodity. I deserved to be treated with more kindness than Tamlin had ever bestowed on me. I knew that, and yet--I didn’t know how to accept that kindness anymore. I was now so deeply confused about myself, my team, and Rhys that I merely stood there, staring at Rhys without really seeing him, and contemplating the nature of my existence for the past year.
Rhys, appearing to come to the conclusion that I had nothing to say in response to his entreaty, cleared his throat. “I know there’s a team party this weekend, as per usual. But my friends and I are going to hang out ourselves and stay sober since we have a meet the weekend after. I want you to come. In fact, I insist.”
I opened my mouth to protest, but he kept talking. “If you don’t show, I’ll tell the captains you haven’t actually been sick or studying during the past two team meetings you’ve missed. I’ll text you the address. Come. Please. We won’t talk about Tamlin or anything difficult. Plus, you should probably meet your new training group.”
That was right. Rhys and all his friends were in the middle distance group. I’d be subject to all of them starting Monday.
And because I couldn’t think of any excuse, because I couldn’t have the captains knowing the concrete truth about my absences, because maybe somewhere deep within me desired help, I agreed.

Fix You Up
Pairing: Kristanna
Word Count: 3,375/AO3
Summary: Winding up in the emergency room isn't fun, but it's certainly a bit easier to endure when there's a beautiful doctor taking care of you.
Author’s Note: This is called “I’ve been re-watching way too much Grey’s Anatomy and I decided to write a completely self-indulgent/kind of ethically wrong but it doesn’t really matter because it’s fiction” fic based off of it. I’m not a doctor/nurse/medical professional of any type so I apologize if I got something wrong. Enjoy!!!
The last thing that Kristoff Bjorgman needed was to wind up in the emergency room. He hadn’t intended for the knife to slip and slice his finger open. But going to the hospital, getting through triage, and waiting in a white, sterile room to see a doctor made him re-evaluate his initial thoughts.
The last thing he actually needed was a pretty, perky, red-headed doctor taking care of him. And yet, it was happening whether he liked it or not.
“Hi, Mr. B - ooh,” she laughed as she walked into his room, attempting to read his last name off of his chart. “I’m sorry, I don’t mean to laugh, it’s just that they teach you how to pronounce words like ‘choledocholithiasis’ in medical school but they don’t teach us how to pronounce our patients’ last names.”
“Oh, it’s -”
“No, I think I got it. Bjorgman?” she raised an eyebrow.
“Yup, that’s it,” he nodded, pursing his lips. She seemed way too young to be a doctor; her hair was tied up in a high ponytail that bounced when she moved, and combined with the scrubs and white coat she was wearing, she looked like she was supposed to be trick-or-treating instead of practicing medicine.
“Alright, Mr. Bjorgman, I’m Dr. Anna Andersen. What brings you in today?” She walked over to the sink and began to vigorously wash her hands.
“Apparently, I need stitches.”
She turned off the water and dried her hands with a paper towel before walking over to his side. She glanced down at his outstretched hand, inspecting the laceration for a few seconds. “I would say that I agree with your diagnosis. You definitely need a few stitches.”
“Fantastic,” he groaned.
“I’m sorry, I know this probably isn’t fun,” she frowned, grabbing a pair of gloves from the dispenser and snapping them on. “But we’ll try to get you out of here as quickly as possible.”
“I appreciate that.”
She sat down on the chair and rolled over to the side of his bed, inspecting his wound more closely. “How did this happen?”
He hesitated, and contemplated lying to her; maybe because he was certain that she’d laugh at him or think he was stupid for cutting himself open while chopping vegetables. He decided to tell the truth anyway. “I was cooking and the knife slipped.”
“Okay, do you mind if I -?” She motioned to his finger, a sense of relief washing over him; there was not a laugh or even a lip twitch in sight.
“Go ahead.”
She gently placed her fingers on the area surrounding the cut. “Does this hurt at all?”
“Just a little,” he grimaced.
“I’m sorry,” she said, scrunching up her nose. “But you can feel my fingers, yes?”
“I can.”
“Good.” She rotated his hand, surveying the damage from all angles. “Are you able to bend your finger?”
He demonstrated for her, despite the fact that it hurt every time he moved it.
“And how long ago did this happen?”
He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to think how long it had taken him to stop the bleeding and get in the car and fill out all the paperwork. “Like, two hours ago.”
“Okay, and are you allergic to any medications or anesthetics?”
“No,” he sighed.
“Sorry for all the questions, it’s procedure. Are you currently taking any medications?”
He shook his head.
“Alright, last one. Do you remember how long ago you had your last tetanus shot?”
“I don’t.”
She gently placed his hand back on the tray, then stood up, pulled the gloves off, and threw them in the trash. “Well, the good news is that the edges aren’t jagged and this should heal very nicely with a few stitches. The bad news is that you won’t be able to bend your finger for a few days.”
“Great.”
“Now, I’ll be right back, I’m just going to get the stuff I need to fix your finger and a tetanus booster and then we’ll get you out of here.”
“Thank you, Doctor,” he said in a low voice.
She smiled before ducking out of the room. Though he had yet to see her put her actual skills to the test, he was impressed by her bedside manner; she was actually quite adorable. Perhaps he had judged her too quickly.
“Sorry to keep you waiting,” she said when she returned a few minutes later, setting down the materials she’d need on the tray next to his hand. “Ready to go?”
“Ready as I’ll ever be.”
She walked over to the sink and washed her hands again before putting on another pair of clean gloves. She sat back down in the chair next to his bed and scooted in as close as she could.
“Now, before I start stitching you up, I’m going to give you a local anesthetic so you won’t feel any pain,” she explained, as she pulled a syringe from a plastic package. “Speaking from experience, this will sting a bit.”
“Experience?” he questioned, furrowing his eyebrows together. “Like from your personal experience or what other people have told you?”
She filled it up with liquid from a tiny clear vial. “Both.”
“Do you warn all of your patients that it will hurt?”
“Only the ones I like,” she winked. “I’ll have to poke you a few times, okay?”
“Okay,” he nodded, and she began to anesthetize the area. She poked him once, and then again, and again. He gritted his teeth.
“Almost done, you’re doing great,” she said, noticing his discomfort. She poked him one last time. “Okay, the worst is over.”
She stood up and deposited the needle in the sharp materials box next to the bed before taking her seat once again. “In just a few minutes, you’ll be numb and I can start.”
“You weren’t kidding when you said that would sting,” he remarked.
“I also wasn’t kidding when I said I only warn the patients that I like,” she grinned. She had such a beautiful smile. “A lot of people come in here and try to undermine my medical experience. I don’t warn people who think they know it all.”
He immediately felt guilty for thinking she looked more prepared for Halloween than for being a doctor. “No offense, but you do look very young.”
“Because I am young. I’m twenty-six,” she confessed with a shrug.
“They let you be a doctor that young? Not just you, but people in general.”
“Oh, yeah,” she laughed. “Medical school is only four years, and you’re officially a doctor when you graduate. Then you do a residency, which is what I’m doing right now, and that can be up to seven years. I’m still in my first year.”
“I didn’t know that,” he said. “That’s a lot of learning.”
“They don’t really advertise how many years of training you have to go through,” she said, tapping on his finger. “Can you feel that?”
“No.”
“Wonderful, now it’s time to party,” she announced. “First, I’m going to clean your wound with some saline solution.”
Though his finger was numbed, he could feel the sensation of the liquid trickling down his palm.
“And now, I’m going to put some antibacterial liquid on your skin,” she explained, doing so as she spoke. “And I have to drape it with a sheet before I suture it…”
She unpacked the blue paper from it’s plastic package, and unfolded it. Conveniently, there was a hole right in the center.
“Here,” she said, holding it up. “Slip your finger right through here, and...perfect!!”
“Do you always narrate what you’re doing for your patients?” he asked in a sincere tone. It was a genuine question.
“Yeah, it usually makes them feel better, but we can talk about something else if you want. Or, if you’d prefer me to be quiet, I can do that, too.”
In any other situation, he would have preferred the quiet, but she had a very appealing voice. “No, you can keep talking.”
“Good, I like talking,” she remarked with a smirk. She was now holding what looked like a pair of scissors in one hand and a pair of tweezers in the other. “You ready?”
“Yup.”
She leaned over his hand, which obstructed his view. “So you may feel the needle going in and out, but it shouldn’t hurt. There, did you feel that?”
“No, not at all.”
“Good,” she said. “So, what do you do for work?”
“I’m an engineer,” he answered, shortly. He didn’t want to bore her with the details.
“Is that a job where you use your hands a lot?”
“Yeah, it is.”
She stopped what she was doing and turned to look at him, her bright, blue eyes nearly boring a hole into his own. “You’re either going to have to take a few days off from work or do something that doesn’t involve your hands, okay? Doctors’ orders. You shouldn’t bend your finger or do any heavy lifting until the stitches come out because you don’t want to accidentally rip it open.”
He closed his eyes and exhaled deeply. “Fine.”
She turned away again and resumed what she was doing. “Did you drive yourself here or did someone give you a ride?”
“I drove myself.”
“Now, I don’t advocate for reckless driving and I would strongly recommend that you call someone to pick you up. You won’t be able to bend your finger around the wheel.”
“I don’t really have anyone that I can call, but I’ll be fine.”
“I’m going to pretend that I didn’t hear that.”
Though he couldn’t see what she was doing, he could see the concentration on her face. She was so close that he could practically count the freckles that were scattered across her nose and cheeks. “So, uh, why did you become a doctor?”
She chuckled. “That’s a bit of a loaded question, but it’s practically a family business. My parents were doctors, my sister’s a doctor. I’m just following in their footsteps.”
“That’s cool that you can say that you all have the same career.”
“I suppose,” she said, her voice twinged with uncertainty. He wasn’t sure how to interpret her tone, but before he could even think about asking what she meant, she placed her tools down on the tray. “And just like that, you’re all stitched up.”
“That was fast,” he remarked as she removed the drape from around his finger. He was able to see it for the first time and counted six tiny knots.
“It isn’t really a time-consuming process,” she shrugged.
“Well, you did a really good job.”
“Thank you,” she blushed. “Now, I’m going to put some antibiotic ointment on it and then wrap it in gauze. You’ll have to keep it clean and dry for the first twenty-four hours. I’ll print you out some more detailed care instructions, but I’m going to recommend that you come back here in ten days to have them removed.”
“Gotcha.”
“Also, don’t rub any alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on it. And if you see any signs of infection - swelling, pus, increase in pain - you can come back or you can make an appointment with your primary care physician.”
“Understood.”
“I just have to give you the tetanus booster and then I’ll get your discharge papers. Sound good?”
He nodded. “Thank you.”
She prepared the vaccine, then stood up and ripped open an alcohol pad. She lifted up the sleeve of his shirt and cleaned off a small area. “This shouldn’t hurt at all,” she said, before injecting the liquid into his body. Seconds later, she was pulling it out, covering the tiny wound with a bandage, and dropping the needle into the sharps container.
“That was a walk in the park compared to the other one,” he chuckled.
“Easy peasy,” she smiled, gathering up all of the items that needed to be discarded. She walked over the garbage, and tossed it away before removing her gloves. “You stay put, okay?”
“Okay,” he answered, inspecting his finger as soon as she left the room. There wasn’t much to see, since the wound was covered by gauze.
“Alright, so this is a bag of stuff to take care of your finger - a few single-use packets of ointment, some gauze, and some tape. You’ll have to stop by a drug store to get enough ointment to last you for the entire ten days, though.” She handed him the small plastic bag.
He nodded. “Alright.”
She shuffled through the papers before handing him on. “Those are the wound care instructions. Please try to follow them as best as you can. When it’s time for the stitches to come out, you can come back here or go to your regular healthcare provider, it’s up to you. And last but not least, these are your discharge papers. We just need you to sign this page and then you’re a free man.”
She placed the papers and a pen on the tray and pushed it closer to him. He signed them without hesitating and she took them back once he was finished.
“Do you have any questions?”
“No, I think you covered everything.”
She smiled. “Alright, then you’re free to go. Take care of yourself, Mr. Bjorgman.”
“Kristoff,” he corrected, holding out his hand for her.
She accepted, and shook it, keeping her eyes locked on his and allowing her fingers to linger for just a second when she pulled her hand back. “Be well, okay?”
Though he was free from the confines of the hospital, he felt almost as if he’d left a piece of himself there. He couldn’t stop thinking about her, for some reason. Not on the drive home, not when he was cleaning up the massacre in his kitchen, and not when he finally crawled into his bed that night but found himself unable to sleep. She was a beautiful, compassionate doctor and he was the idiot who showed up in her emergency room with a gaping hole in his finger. Remnants of their conversation played over and over again in his head, and though he didn’t know her at all, he found himself creating scenarios in his head where they would have the opportunity to meet again. He kept having to remind himself that she was only being so nice because she was a doctor.
As luck would have it, he would find himself back in the emergency room just two days later, for a rather unfortunate reason. Doubled over in pain, he spotted her in the hallway talking to a colleague as he was wheeled toward his room by an orderly. He couldn’t help but notice her eyes following where he was going until he couldn’t see her anymore, and he fervently hoped that she’d be the one to treat him, again.
She walked into his room shortly after, looking quite concerned. “Hey, what are you doing back here? Infection?”
“No,” he breathed. “I’m having really bad abdominal pains.”
“What’s going on?”
“I’ve been nauseous and I haven’t been able to keep anything down, and I have a fever. And the pain is really bad. Do you think it could be appendicitis?”
“It could be, but they’ll have to run some tests on you to confirm,” she said, shoving her hands into the pocket of her coat.
“Are you the only doctor that works here?”
“It feels like that sometimes,” she remarked. “But I’m not your doctor today.”
His face fell. “You’re not?”
She shook her head. “I just saw you from the hallway and I wanted to see what was going on, make sure that you were okay.”
“I wish I could say that I was making this up just so I could see you again.”
“You know, you’re really handsome and I like looking at you, but I’d prefer if we didn’t keep meeting like this.”
Feeling bold, he decided to press on. “What if we met somewhere else? Like a grocery store or a bar?”
She cocked her head, a smirk plastered across her face. “It would be a miracle because I don’t have a social life and I survive on takeout. I can't say I wouldn't like that, though.”
He laughed, but it only caused his pain to intensify and thus, remind him of the seriousness of the situation. He exhaled a few times through his mouth before speaking again. “What will happen if it is appendicitis?”
She sighed. “You’ll have to have surgery.”
“Oh,” he frowned. “When it rains, it pours, huh?”
She gently squeezed his arm. “We’ll take really good care of you.”
His memory got a little foggy after that; he remembered his actual doctor coming in, the nurse putting in an I.V., someone coming in and drawing his blood, and an ultrasound machine being wheeled into his room. He concluded that they must’ve given him some painkillers after that, because the next thing he remembered was waking up after surgery, the doctor telling him that it went well, and then promptly falling back to sleep.
He didn’t know how much time had passed when he finally woke up.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” a soft voice asked. Suddenly, Dr. Andersen was by his side; she looked quite concerned and she was wearing normal clothes, not her scrubs or white coat.
He cleared his throat. “I’m okay.”
“Your surgery went really well,” she assured him. “You came in at just the perfect time.”
“What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to make sure that you were okay before I left for the night,” she explained, gently resting her hand on his arm. “Is there anything that I could get for you? Anyone I can call?”
“No,” he shook his head. “Thank you, though.”
“You’re welcome.” She gave him a small smile. “Get some rest, alright?”
“Wait,” he called, just as she was about to walk through the door. She obliged, and turned around. “They say lightning never strikes the same place twice. I’ve never been to the emergency room in my entire life, and now I’ve been here twice in three days. That has to be some kind of coincidence, right?”
“Today was my last day on rotation for emergency medicine. I’m moving on to pediatrics.”
His eyebrows furrowed together. “Because of me?”
“No, not at all,” she assured him. “That’s just how being a first year resident works.”
“I don’t...” he trailed off.
“The reason I brought it up is because you were talking about coincidences,” she said, in a low voice.
Suddenly, it clicked. “That’s a pretty big one, huh?”
She nodded slowly. “I would say so.”
“So what does this mean?”
She walked back over to his bed, sat down on the edge of it, and dropped her bag on the floor. “I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t worried about you all day.”
No use in being anything but honest now. “I’d be lying if I said that I haven’t been thinking about you since the other day.”
“I may have been thinking about you, too,” she smirked.
He raised an eyebrow. “Does that mean I can ask you on a date?”
“You may,” she blushed. “But only after you recover from your surgery. Don’t forget that you’re supposed to spend the next couple of weeks recovering.”
“So I won’t be able to take you out for, like, three weeks?”
“Don’t forget that I work eighty hours a week, too,” she laughed. “But I’ll give you my phone number and you can text me as much as you want. I may not be able to answer right away, but I enjoy reading my messages on my breaks.”
“Deal,” he agreed and he recited his number to her, so she could text him and he could save it.
“You really should get some rest now, though,” she insisted, standing up and straightening his blankets.
“You should really take your own advice.”
“I know, I know,” she rolled her eyes. She picked up her bag and slung the strap over her shoulder. “Have a good night, Kristoff.”
“You too...Anna,” he called. She beamed at him and as soon as she was out of sight, he found himself unable to control his own smile.

Let It Snow | William Nylander
Summary Request:
alternatively, our flights get cancel and we’re two strangers who rent the last available car together (it might be a little dangerous but we’re living on the edge)
and
we always carpool home for the holidays from college but a storm hit and now we’re taking the last room at the local b&b
and
we don’t know each other that well but i found out that you’ve never been sledding skating and feel like it’s my personal mission to change that
Words: 10k (I’m SORRY) Note: So, a few things: I wrote most of this when I was either drunk or sick, so excuse any grammar/spelling mistakes. Second of all, you guys wanted one long thing instead of parts, so here’s 10k of word vomit. Third of all, this is cliche central, and I’m not even sorry. And lastly, I know Will’s family doesn’t live in Calgary anymore but I very well couldn’t have them drive to Sweden.
---
“I hate snow.”
It’s meant to be mumbled under your breath, for nobody to hear but you; you didn’t even really mean to say it out loud, but it kinda slipped.
You really hate snow.
The guy that’s sitting opposite you looks up. So far, he’s been engulfed in his phone, but now there’s an interested look on his face as he takes you in.
“Why?” he asks.
As if that’s a totally normal thing to ask a complete stranger in the middle or a crowded airport.
You shoot him a dirty look, take a sip of your coffee before answering him, your voice deadpan. “Have you looked around you?”
The guy looks, as if he actually hadn’t noticed before that the airport around him has been getting busier and busier, the people there more annoyed and miserable looking by the second.
“Oh,” he says.
Yeah, oh.
You huff and return your attention to the announcement board again, hoping the message is going to magically change.
It doesn’t. Flight delayed, it says.
“Are you going to Calgary too?” the guy asks.
Now it’s not really his fault: he hasn’t personally caused a huge snow storm to hit Toronto and he’s probably just trying to be nice, but you’re already in a bad mood.
So you snap: “No, I’m just sitting here for shits and giggles.”
“Never mind,” the guy mutters, and his eyes fix on his phone again.
Great, now you feel like shit about that.
However, the universe needs to give you a break. This has literally been the worst week of your life and it’s only Thursday: the only thing that has pulled you through so far is knowing you’re going to see your dad, and now it’s looking like that might be going up in flames.
“Excuse me, may I please have your attention,” a voice sounds over the speaker at your gate, and you perk up in your seat. “We regret to inform you that, due to the upcoming snow storm, all air traffic in this area has been cancelled until further notice. Your flight will not depart today. For more information, you may contact the information desk.”
“Fuck.”
The guy opposite you raises an eyebrow. “If you don’t want people to start a conversation with you, you might want to stop talking to yourself.”
He stands up leisurely, as if the cancelled flight is no bother to him at all, and grabs his suitcase. He points to the board, where it now says Flight cancelled instead of Flight delayed – fucking fantastic – and motions at it, as if to say “what can you do”.
“How are you so chill about this?” It’s more that you’re wondering out loud than actually wanting an answer, but of course the guy grabs the opportunity.
“Well, it’s still four days to Christmas, and Calgary isn’t on another continent. It sucks that there won’t be any flights anytime soon, but you can’t change the weather.” He smiles. “I actually love snow, personally. And a little snow has never stopped me before. So I’m gonna rent a car and drive to Calgary.”
You stare at him. “Drive? To Calgary? That’s insane.”
“I mean, not as insane as spending Christmas away from my family,” the guy reasons, and….
He might have a point. You could stay here, and be miserable alone, or you could drive to Calgary and spend time with your dad like you planned. You could be enjoyed your dad’s pancakes, drinking hot chocolate by the fire place watching Elf, within a mere 40 hours, if you put the gas pedal down.
It’s, objectively, insane.
“I’m gonna rent a car too.”
“Great,” the guy says, jovially. “We can walk together then!”
And that was not really your plan, but to be fair, you don’t really know where you’re supposed to go to rent a car and this guy is walking as if he does this every day, so you dutifully follow him.
You take this time to look him over; he looks funny, in sweatpants with white sneakers – in the snow! - and a hoodie with a coat. He has a beanie on and there’s a few blond streaks of hair escaping from under it. He’s wearing thick black framed glasses. The suitcase he has with him has the Gucci logo on it, and you find yourself wondering if it’s real.
The guy is dressed like he’s either super rich but doesn’t care, or is slightly blind and got a 13 year old high school boy to pick out his clothing at a weird second hand shop.
“What’s your name?” the guy asks, and you frown.
“Why do you care? I wasn’t aware we were going to become best friends in the time it takes to walk to the rental car booth.”
“Nice to meet you,” he says, remaining completely unbothered as if you didn’t just snap at him. “I’m Will.” He glances over at you, seemingly amused. “It’s just a cancelled plane, you know. Not the end of the world.”
“It’s not just about the plane.” You almost tell him about the week you’ve had, but you decide it’s not worth the trouble. After all, you’re just going to rent a car and then you’re going your separate ways, and you’ll never see him again.
That’s the plan, at least. But it wouldn’t be this time in your life if your plan didn’t get ruined.
“I’m sorry, miss, that was the last car we have available,” the woman behind the computer says, right after she’s handed Will some keys. “Everyone is trying to get outta here by car, now that the planes aren’t going.”
You nearly, nearly, start to cry.
“What do you mean the last car? Surely you have a car somewhere,” you beg. “Any car. A bike. I don’t care. I have to get to Calgary for Christmas, you don’t understand…”
“I understand,” the lady interrupts, the friendly facade sliding off her face. “Unfortunately, I cannot help you. Have a good day.”
Have a good day?
“Look, lady…”
You’re about to yell at her some more when you feel someone tap your shoulder. Of course, it’s Will, beaming down at you with the keys to your last option in his hand.
“Yelling at her won’t work, you know. It’s not gonna make you feel better or stop you from being in a mood.”
Something inside you snaps.
“In a mood? You wanna know why I’m in such a mood, Will? I’m in a mood because this Monday, I got told my residency at the hospital I work at might not be available to me next year, because they’re cutting personnel at the department. On Tuesday, I ran my legs out of my body for 15 hours before they told me that I shouldn’t come back after Christmas. On Wednesday, my boyfriend of almost a year broke up with me because he’s looking for different things in life, whatever the fuck that means. And the only, only thing I was looking forward to was seeing my dad again, and now this stupid snow has ruined that for me as well. So excuse my mood, but I will yell at whoever I want to!”
Will blinks at you, then raises an eyebrow. “Feel better?”
Slowly, you exhale through your nose. You do, actually, feel better, and Will seems to know that because he’s grinning.
“If you’re done yelling, I was gonna ask you…” he trails, “do you want a lift?”
 ---
Arguably, this is a bad idea. You don’t even know this guy. He could be literally anyone.
“You could be a serial killer,” you tell him, putting on your seatbelt and sinking into the passenger’s seat. “You could drive me out of the city, murder me, dismember my corpse and leave me in the woods.”
“Hmm,” Will hums, as he starts the car. “I could, but that would massively delay my arrival time.”
You kick up your feet on the dash and play with the radio; the only songs you’re getting are Christmas songs, and that’s just not the right mood. Of course, as soon as you settle on some station that’s not playing Christmas music, Will frowns.
“Do you hate Christmas? Cause if you’re the Grinch, I’m gonna have to kick you out now.”
You look out the window; Toronto traffic is bad as always and you’re standing still barely out of the airport.
“I’m not the Grinch. I just don’t love Christmas.”
“How?” Will exclaims. “Christmas is the best holiday of the year!”
“I prefer Halloween,” you say, and Will rolls his eyes.
“And I’m the serial killer.”
“Christmas is overrated. I don’t care for trees in my house, creating a mess, Christmas movies are cheesy, Christmas songs are objectively bad and everyone is just stressed around Christmas time, trying to find gifts and decorate and wear stupid sweaters and go to parties with people they don’t like.”
You don’t tell him that you also don’t like Christmas because when your mom left, she said she would send you a Christmas gift.
As if that made it okay for a mother to leave her 12 year old daughter behind.
“Grinch,” Will mutters under his breath. You reach out and smack his arm, and he yelps in surprise. “Hey, don’t hit the driver, we could crash!”
“We’re literally standing still.”
“I could accidentally press the gas!”
“Then you’d be an idiot!”
You sigh and drop your head against the headrest, staring out of the window at all the headlights surrounding you.
It’s gonna be a long trip.
--
For the first few hours of the drive, it turns out the not be the worst. First, you and Will talk about your families a little: he’s got four siblings and his parents are still “very grossly in love” (his words) and you tell him that you’ve got just your dad and grandma left.
You don’t tell him what happened with your mom and he doesn’t ask, which is probably good judgement from his side.
Most of the time, however, you nap and Will drives or you drive and Will sleeps; you both decided that you want to get to Calgary as fast as you can, and not stopping is the way to do that.
It feels like it’s been days, but in reality you’ve only been driving for about 8 hours when Will stretches beside you and yawns.
“We should stop for gas,” he says, “and get me at least two liters of coffee to inject into my veins.”
“Probably a bad idea,” you deadpan. “That volume of liquid into your system would probably kill you instantly, and if it didn’t, the caffeine would give you a heart attack. Also, if you have to pee in an hour I’ll kill you.”
Will grins. “No good outcome possible for me, then, huh?” He points out the window. “Gas station.”
While you’re driving down the lane, he turns to look at you.
“You’re a nurse,” he says, and you frown.
“Yeah, I told you that.”
“I know, but like, you’re an actual nurse. I didn’t think about what that meant. But that’s really cool.”
You sigh. “Well, yeah, but if I don’t find another residency I’m gonna be half a nurse. And that won’t pay the bills.”
“You’ll find one,” Will says, easily enough, as if it’s a mere fact, and for the first time since you got the news, you feel some of the anxiety in your stomach settle.
It’s probably strange, that the fact that this guy, who you have only spent one day with, can tell you it’s gonna be fine and you believe it.
Maybe it’s because he seems truly genuine in his conviction. Maybe it’s because you’re just that desperate.
“Coffee?” Will asks, and you shake yourself out of your thoughts.
“I’ll go get it, you fill the tank,” you say, because you really want to stretch your legs. You spend your time wandering the little shop, getting two large coffees and also a few snacks for the road – what else is there to do in a car but eat and nap – and when you finally reemerge, Will is talking to someone next to the car.
“So awesome to meet you, dude, huge fan,” the man says. You watch as Will scribbles something on a napkin with a pen.
“Anytime. Sorry I don’t have paper.” Will smiles at the man politely as he hands him the napkin.
“No problem!” The man seems very excited about the napkin, and as he walks back to his car, he looks at Will again over his shoulder and waves. Will waves back, then turns to you and makes grabby hands for the coffee.
“Gimme!”
“What was that?” you frown, holding the coffee out of his reach. “Who was that?”
“A guy,” Will deadpans, “and a napkin. Coffee, please?”
You don’t hand it to him but he somehow manages to snatch it out of your hands; he’s faster than you’d think he’d be, and he’s back in the car before you can ask again.
Luckily, he’s stuck with you in this car for a while.
“That wasn’t just a guy,” you say, stubbornly. “He was really excited to see you. Does he know you?”
“I don’t know him,” Will answers, and that’s about the best deflecting you’ve ever heard.
“Not what I asked.”
Will sighs. “Fine,” he grumbles. “Do you watch hockey?”
“Hockey?” you repeat dumbfoundedly. “Like, where people skate after a piece of rubber? No, why?”
“But you know hockey is a pretty big deal in the city, yeah?”
You don’t know why Will is pressing the issue; you’re more interested to find out who the man is, but Will seems very intent on this line of conversation, so you decide to let him get away with it for now.
“Yeah, my boyf… ex boyfriend is a big Maple Leafs fan.”
Will snorts, but before you can ask what he means by that, he points to your phone, that’s laying in your lap.
“Google Maple Leafs number 88.”
“Why, is he hot?” you tease, but you do as he says.
William Nylander, your screen tells you, and beside it is a picture of Will.
“Kinda,” Will says blankly.
You look at Will, and then at your screen. Then back at Will. “That’s you,” you bring out, and Will chuckles.
“Well, yes. Does that explain enough to you?”
And it does. You might not watch hockey – you don’t really watch sports anyway – but you know from your ex how big a deal it is to some people, and you can imagine what it must be like to be a Leafs player living in Toronto.
You also remember your ex screaming at the television screen.
“Rough season so far, huh?” you say. “That why you wanna go to Calgary so badly?”
Will smiles, but it doesn’t fully reach his eyes. “Yeah, kinda. I mean, new coach, new opportunity, I’m excited, it’s just…” He pauses, seems to ponder his answer. It doesn’t sound like a rehearsed media answer, when he finally speaks. “I really need that new start, but I need a little break to empty my mind a bit, first. Put it into perspective, I guess. My dad is really good at helping with that, and so is my brother. Alex plays in the NHL too, and my dad used to. It’s… They know what it’s like, but they’re not on my team, so they offer more of an outside view.”
“You can tell me?” you offer. “I don’t know shit about hockey, so I’ve got an outside view.”
Will is laughing, then, and his eyes are twinkling and the car feels strangely small, suddenly.
“What do you do when you suck at your job for a while, and everyone loses their faith in you, and then you get better but nobody believes in you anymore?”
For the heaviness of the question, his tone is light, and he’s tapping his fingers on the steering wheel in beat with the music, as if he asked about your holiday plans.
You think of your mom.
“When I was little, I used to patch up my dolls with plasters and tell my mom I wanted to be a nurse. She said I couldn’t because I fainted at the sight of blood.” You shrug. “You just have to show them, I guess.”
Will nods slowly, then breaks into a smile. “Did you really faint at the sight of blood?”
“Shut up,” you chide, and the mood is lifted. It’s getting dark outside and you know you’ll have to start napping soon if you wanna take over driving in two hours, but for now you’re perfectly happy listening to Will’s chatter and the soft rumble of the engine in the background, as the car speeds down the highway, getting a little closer to Calgary with every passing minute.
---
Your eyes flutter open to darkness around you, and the car sitting in the parking lot of a gas station.
You turn just enough to see Will: he’s behind the wheel, eyes closed, his mouth slightly agape as his head hangs back.
The car is surrounded by snow: white flurries of it floating down to the ground, hitting the car.
For a second, you wonder why you’re not cold. Then you catch sight of Will’s coat, draped over your legs and stomach. You can’t help but smile at it, and then you close your eyes again.
The situation feels safely serene and safe, and you might as well take advantage of that and get some more sleep.
---
When you wake up, it’s to the sound of Christmas music coming from the speakers, Willy’s voice singing along.
“Not the time for Christmas carols,” you groan, and Will laughs.
“It’s always time for Christmas carols, Y/N,” he chides. You hear rustling, and you finally open your eyes.
“I stopped for a few hours,” Will says, “just to get some sleep. But we’re up and running again.”
Ah, that explains the scene you woke up yesterday. You glance at the clock: 7am. The sun is slowly starting to rise.
“It’s too early for you to be this happy,” you grumble. You haven’t had any coffee yet and that means you’re really not in the mood to have Will radiating energy around you.
“How are you not this happy?” Will asks. “Look outside!”
Outside is the road, but you understand what he means. Everything is covered by a thick layer of snow.
“It’s… white,” you say, because that’s about as far as you’re getting.
“It’s beautiful!” Will’s eyes are lit up with excitement.
“You’re insane,” you state, because that has been proven by this exchange.
“No I’m not! Snow is amazing. It’s beautiful, and it’s fun. Everything gets better in winter.”
You crank up the heat in the car and rub the sleep out of your eyes.
“Everything does not get better in winter,” you frown. “First of all, it’s cold. Everything is slippery because of the frost, the snow turns to yellow mush within a few hours. You have to shovel the driveway.”
“Or you could build snowmen with it. You can go skating on the ponds. Have snowball fights.”
You snort. “Snowball fights? What are we, 12?”
Will’s eyes widen slightly. “You’re never too old for a good snowball fight.” His voice is fond as he continues. “I play in the snow with my younger siblings every winter when I’m home. That’s like, the best part of Christmas.”
And, well…
“I can kinda get that, in concept,” you say softly. “There was never really anyone to play with me, I guess.”
Will’s eyes are a little sad as he glances over at you, but he doesn’t say anything. You appreciate that: you’re not ready to share anything more and it’s like he senses that. Instead, he changes the subject.
“Hey, have you ever been skating?”
“Nope,” you say, and the grin Willy shoots you is a little wicked.
“We’re changing that today.”
---
What Will means, apparently, is that it’s a good idea when you’re halfway between Toronto and Calgary to stop in a small little town and find an ice rink.
“This is insane,” you protest. “We’re losing time!”
“We’ve got 48 hours til Christmas,” Will shrugs, “and only an 18 hour drive left. Come on, after this we’ll drive straight through. It’ll be fun.” His eyes are shining and you can literally feel the excitement buzzing off of him, and, well…
Skating did always seem like fun to you. When you were younger, you asked your dad to take you once, but renting skates costs money so it never happened. You remember the disappointment in your dad’s eyes as he had to tell you no, so you didn’t dare ask again.
“I’ll buy you hot chocolate after,” Will coaxes. You don’t understand why he wants to go that badly: he spends most of his days on the ice, anyway, surely he’d be happy for a break.
“Fine,” you grumble, and you can’t help but laugh at the smug look on Willy’s face as he pulls the car to the side of the road.
The rink is small and filled with people. There’s a lot of small children that are skating behind little chairs, and you can picture yourself being there too.
“I’m gonna be so much worse than them,” you whine, at the same moment one of the kids falls onto the ice. A woman helps the little girl up and she goes right back at it.
You don’t think you’re gonna be that brave.
“Oh, shush, I’m not gonna let you fall,” says Will, and you try to ignore the butterflies in your stomach.
This whole situation is so freaking cliche, and you are not going to fall for it.
You rent skates for you and Will brings his own, because of course he brought skates in his suitcase. You’re struggling with the laces on the bench next to the rink, mostly to stall for some time; your heart is beating fast in your throat and your hands are a little clammy.
“Need some help with those?” Will is sitting sideways on the bench, and he’s grinning at you amused while you struggle. Feeling a little bold, you swing your leg into his lap.
You can tell he wasn’t expecting it because his eyes widen slightly, but then the grin only broadens and he starts carefully lacing up your skates. You watch as his fingers work the laces expertly – it’s clear that he’s done this a million times before – and then, his hand curls around your ankle.
“Other one,” he orders, and you switch legs.
Finally, the skates are on and Will hops to his feet, extending his hand and helping you to your feet. You’re already wobbling and you’re not even on this ice yet.
“If I break my leg, I can’t drive,” you say, mostly because the thought pops into your head.
Will rolls his eyes. “You’re not gonna break your leg.”
“If I hit my head and have a concussion, I can’t drive either.”
“Y/N.” Will’s voice is firm enough that you look up at him. He’s frowning. “You’re not gonna break anything, or hit anything, or fall. If you really don’t want to do this, we can leave now, but if there’s any part of you that agrees that this could be kinda fun, I promise you I’ve got you.” His eyes are a little shiny as he adds: “Trust me?”
And it’s stupid, you know it is, because you barely know Will. You’re pretty sure you’d have found out if he truly was a serial killer or any other type of psycho, but you can’t be sure he’s not irresponsible – although he did pull over in the snow – or prove that he’s trustworthy in any way.
And yet…
“I trust you,” you say then, and the blinding smile that crosses Will’s face is worth the fear in your heart when you place your first foot on the ice.
You can feel it slipping right away, but Will literally hops on the ice next to you, two feet planted firmly on the slippery surface, and places his hands on your hips, steadying your waist. In a reflex, your hands curls around his biceps, and once again you are reminded that holy shit, he’s a professional athlete.
“Wow, easy,” Will hums. He slowly guides you further away from the door, and your other foot adds to your first, and then you’re gliding.
You can’t call it skating: Will is moving backwards and pulling you with him, but you’re not necessarily moving on your own.
The first round goes like that, and then you decide to be brave and start moving your feet.
To be fair, Will keeps his promise. He never leaves your side, his hand firmly on your lower back even when you do start skating yourself, ready to catch you whenever you stumble – which is a lot.
“I’m doing it,” you yelp excitedly, when he finally lets his hand hover a little away from you. “I’m skating!”
Will laughs. “Proud of you, babe.”
And it’s probably just something he says; he probably calls a lot of people babe, it probably means nothing, and yet…
“Help,” you manage to squeak, and then your arms are waving in the air and your feet are slipping from under you and you try to maintain your balance, but you can pinpoint the second it’s a lost cause.
For a split second you’re plummeting towards the ice, but then two arms are wrapped around your waist and you just kinda… hang there.
“Thanks,” you say dryly. You’re hanging in Will’s arms as he’s hysterically cackling out laughter above you. It takes him a few seconds to compose himself and pull you up.
“Majestic,” he giggles, and he tightens his grip on your waist when you slap him in the chest.
“Rude,” you grumble, but you can’t help the smile that’s tugging at the edges of your lips.
It’s weird, but suddenly you notice how close he is, and when his eyes travel to your lips the smile falls from his face and you can tell he noticed too.
You stare at him, and it’s like the air is charged with something; your heart is beating in your throat and you swear he’s moving closer.
Oh, you think, we’re gonna kiss.
Strangely enough, the thought doesn’t send panic to your throat the way it did when your ex kissed you the first time, the way it always has when someone kissed you. Instead, it’s like everything inside of you goes calm and quiet.
You want him to kiss you. And it’s a little scary how not scary that is.
You’re interrupted by a small voice.
“Mister Nylander?”
Will startles, yank back fast enough that you nearly tumble straight back down to the ice, but one firm hand on your waist keeps you standing. He turns around then, to face the little girl that spoke: she can’t be more than five years old and is wearing a helmet with a cage, holding a hockey stick in her hands and staring at Will with wide, starstruck eyes.
He bends down into a squat – on skates, literally, how – and smiles at the girl.
“Hi, yes, that’s me. You can call me Willy, though. What’s your name?”
“Amanda,” the girl beams. “Can I get your autograph, mister Willy?”
“Sure, kiddo,” Willy says. “How about I bring my friend here to the safety of the ground and I shoot some pucks with you, huh?”
Amanda looks like someone just offered her the entire world and everything in it. “Please,” she says, and Will quickly guides you towards the side of the rink.
“I won’t be long,” he promises, and he almost looks apologetic, which…
Which is ridiculous. Because you can tell that him just being here made that little girl’s day, and you think of the things you wanted as a little girl and the heroes you never got to meet, and…
“Take all the time in the world, please,” you say. “I’ll go get myself that hot chocolate.”
For two hours you sit at the side watching Will with the kids. Somehow after Amanda more and more kids appeared and now he’s created somewhat of an impromptu hockey team because they’re all playing and the adults cleared the rink.
It’s entertaining, to watch Will with the kids. He’s a good teacher, and you can see them hitting the net more and more as time passes on, and he clearly makes it fun: they’re all laughing and screaming and at one point, a few of them tackle Will to the ice, where he rolls around and pretends to be unable to get up, yet hops to his feet the second the kids get distracted.
It’s insane, how comfortably he moves around. Like, you knew this, because he’s a professional hockey player, of course he can skate, but you didn’t really think anything of it until you see it in action. He’s obviously not even trying to do anything fancy, and he’s probably not trying to be fast either, but he is, and he stops without problem and turns in any direction and even jumps over a puck, at some point.
You can’t lie. It’s kinda hot. But then, you’ve always had a thing for people who were clearly good at something.
For example, your ex was a really good painter. He was also really good at being a lying, cheating bastard.
Before you can go too far down that rabbit hole, there’s commotion on the rink, someone crying and then Will’s voice, too loud: “What happened?”
When you look up he’s kneeling in front of a little boy, who’s crying and staring at his hand.
You jump up, worrying, but Will has already lifted to kid in his arms and is skating towards you now, with big strides.
“He took a skate to the hand, we’re gonna need some bandages,” he says, and a parent yells something about getting a first aid kit while Will puts the kid on his lap on the bench. “Can you look at him?” he asks you, worry evident in his voice even though he’s clearly trying to remain calm. He’s a little pale, but you don’t have time to deal with that right now.
“Hey, buddy,” you coo at the kid, kneeling in front of him, placing your hand on Will’s knee to steady yourself. “What’s your name?”
“Tim,” the kid cries. “My hand hurts!”
“I know it does, Tim. But the good news is that we can fix it,” you promise him, examining the hand. It doesn’t look too bad: there’s a cut, but not deep enough to perforate anything more than flesh, so you’re not too worried.
The first aid kit arrives and so does Timmy’s dad, who doesn’t seem too bothered. “He falls all the time,” he says, “that’s what hockey is, isn’t it?” He preens at Will, who dutifully ignores him in order to talk to Timmy in a low voice.
You wrap up Timmy’s hand and tell him to take it easy for a few days, and then before you know it you’re in the car and Will is holding the steering wheel so tight his knuckles are turning white.
“Do you want me to drive?” you ask tentatively. There’s no answer, but Will isn’t turning on the car. “He’s gonna be okay, you know.” Silence. Another try. “It’s not your fault.”
“I just can’t believe,” Will starts, but he seems to choke on the last word and lets the sentence die, drops his head and inhales sharply. It takes a while, but finally he speaks, a little more composed. “I hate when parents tell their kids that hockey is about pain and sacrifice. It can be, sometimes, but it shouldn’t be, not for a little kid. It should be about fun, and learning skill, and being with teammates, and loving it. It shouldn’t be about falling and injuries.”
He sounds so frustrated that it tugs at your heart strings, and for a split second you allow yourself to wonder what Will was told by his dad, when he was a kid himself.
“He wasn’t even trying to soothe him,” Willy bites. “He was too busy fawning over the presence of a professional hockey player, and I don’t… I don’t wanna be the person these idiots believe I am.”
“And you’re not,” you blurt out. “Will, these kids had so much fun with you.”
Will smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes. “I just… Me and my brother, we always had fun skating. My dad told us it was important to always have fun. But I’ve seen it happen to friends. They were so passionate about hockey, but their parents pushed them, wanted them to be better too quick and told them to suck it up when the skates hurt their feet and it just fizzled out, you know? Until one day it wasn’t any fun and they quit.”
“It’s a shame,” you echo. “But your dad…?”
“He was hard on us, sure.” Will shrugs, smiles for real this time. “Pushed us to be better. But he always made it fun.” He turns to you. “Your dad… He stood behind your dreams?”
You remember you told him your mom didn’t think you could be a nurse, and you laugh. “The blood thing, you mean? Yeah, he didn’t agree with my mom. He always told me I could be whatever I wanted to be, and if I decided I wanted to be something else, I could be that, too. He’s always been there for me.” You shrug. “I’m lucky to have him. My mom… She left when I was 12. And I…”
You stop, for a second, wondering if you’re really gonna tell this to a complete stranger. But the thing is, Will doesn’t feel like a complete stranger anymore. Talking to him feels more comfortable than talking to most of your friends, and you can tell he really cares about what you’re saying, and you just, you want to tell him, so you do.
“I don’t like Christmas because my mom left right before Christmas, and she said: ‘I might not see you for a while, honey, but I’ll send you a Christmas gift.’ She didn’t, and I never saw her again.”
When you glance at Will, he’s frowning, a deep crease edged into his forehead. “That’s messed up.”
“Yeah, but, it was a long time ago. I’m mostly over it, I just never learned to love Christmas the way most kids do, I guess. My dad tried to make it fun for me, but it was always the reminder, you know, that I didn’t have a mom and other kids did.” You laugh, a little bitterly. “And then this year my ex-boyfriend dumped me on the 16th. My mom left me on the 17th. So I guess December is just not a good month for me.”
“Your ex is an asshole.” Will says it with such force, gritting his teeth, that you can’t help but reach over and put your hand on his knee.
“It’s okay,” you muse, and the tension leaves Will’s shoulders as he carefully wraps your hand in his.
His hand is warm and a little rough and there’s something hammering in your chest, and you wonder how it’s possible that you met him two days ago and he’s already making you feel more than your ex-boyfriend ever had.
You guess you never really liked that guy as much as you told yourself you did.
“It’s not,” he says, but he doesn’t so upset anymore. “And if he was here, I’d punch him in the face. But I’m glad to see you didn’t let him hurt you too much.” Will grins. “And now you’ve been skating, so, like, fuck him.”
“Fuck him,” you echo, and Will starts the car.
18 hours to go. And then you’re in Calgary, and you’re gonna see your dad, and you’ll probably never see Will again.
For some reason that thought leaves a sinking feeling in your chest.
---
“Psst.” You groan as someone softly tugs your arm. You try to turn around, but there’s something digging in your back and you can’t quite get there. The tugging gets more persistent. “Hey, Y/N.”
“What?” you grumble, finally forcing yourself to open your eyes, and it’s only when you see Will’s face in front of you that you realize you’re not in your bed. You’re in a car, it’s pitch dark outside, and you’re standing in front of a lit up building.
“Snow storm is getting really, really bad,” Will says. “We have to stop for the night. It’s not safe to keep driving.”
You’re about to tell him to stop being such a baby, and you’ll drive, no problem, when you risk a glance out the window and see… nothing.
Literally, almost nothing. Just a big building, and some lights that could be from streetlights or UFOs, for all you know, because there’s a big blanket of white covering your sight. Snowflakes are streaming down in a curtain, and you can hear the wind howl around the car.
Okay, yeah, maybe it is unsafe to drive.
“Where are we?”
“Hotel,” Will says. “I checked, only hotel within 10 minutes of the highway. Pray that they have a room for us.”
He leaves you in the seat to wake up a bit more, and goes to get your luggage; he swings your bag over his shoulder and hauls his suitcase out of the trunk, and finally opens your door.
“Come on.”
You grab his hand and let him pull you out of the car, although you walk in front of him to enter the hotel. The woman behind the desk looks up as you open the door.
“Please close that behind you,” she says, friendly enough, “I swear if that cold comes in I might freeze, here.”
“Hi,” you say to her, “I know, it’s bad, right? We were hoping you have two rooms available for us, so we can escape the storm?”
The woman types something on her computer, then frowns. “I’m sorry, it’s very busy at the moment. Lots of people stopping in from the highway. I have one room left, if you’d like? Double bed.”
Oh, fuck. You’re not sure if you’ve quite wrapped your head around in, when Will chimes in next to you.
“Cool, we’ll take it.”
“We…” you start protesting, but Will raises an eyebrow and looks at you with so much attitude that it shuts you up.
“Would you rather freeze to death in a car?” he asks pointedly. “I’ll take the couch or the floor, or whatever, chill. I promise I won’t murder you in your sleep.”
Getting murdered is not what you’re worried about, to be honest. You’re worried that sharing a hotel room with Will is just gonna make these feelings in the pit of your stomach worse.
But there’s not really another option.
“Fine. We’ll take it.”
“You know,” Will chirps, when you’ve got the keycard and he’s taking the luggage up the stairs, “there’s a lot of girls that would kill to be forced to share a room with me.”
“That’s because they’ve only looked at your face, and don’t know your personality,” you drawl, and you know you’ve made a mistake when Will’s face lights up.
“You think I’ve got a pretty face?”
“Not what I said,” you answer quickly; too quickly, because Will is looking way too smug as he takes the keycard out of your hand and opens the hotel room door.
The room itself is nothing special. It’s small, but the bed looks comfortable and it’s warm, so you’ll take it.
“Shotgun on the bathroom,” you say as soon as you get in, and Will rolls his eyes but dutifully flops on the bed and starts typing on his phone while you find your toothbrush and disappear to the bathroom.
When you walk out, Will is laying sprawled over the bed, although he’s luckily still on top of the duvets. His hoodie has ridden up a bit and his sweatpants are – dangerously – low on his hips, so there’s a strip of skin showing.
Your mouth goes funnily dry, all of a sudden.
The thing is. You might not have wanted to be stuck in a hotel room with a guy you met at the airport only 2 days prior, but if it had to happen, Will is not a bad guy to be stuck with. He’s, objectively, very hot – you’re not blind – and he’s funny, and easy to talk to, and he’s been nothing but nice, even when you were a teeny tiny bit rude to him at the airport.
Did you mention he’s very hot?
“I’m gonna shower,” he says, jumping up from the bed.
While he’s doing that, you lay in bed and scroll through Instagram on your phone. Maybe you stalk Will on Instagram, only for a little bit, and you find a picture of him with his siblings that’s so cute it has you smiling at your phone.
“What are you smiling at?” Will’s voice surprises you so much that you drop your phone on your face with a yelp, and the sound of his laughter rings in your ears as you bury your red hot face into the pillow.
You hadn’t even heard him open the bathroom door again. Luckily, you don’t think he saw, but you lock your phone just in case.
Then, you look up, and if you thought you couldn’t be any redder in the face, boy were you wrong.
Because Will is wearing boxers, and nothing else. Now, you think to yourself, as you glance at him before shamefully returning your gaze to your hands, if you had a body like that, maybe you’d be more keen on showing it off too, but…
“You’re gonna be cold,” you tell him, and you can hear, more than see, his eye roll as he says:
“Okay, mom.” Then, he opens the closet and takes another duvet out. “I’ll be fine, I have this.” He grins a little cheekily, as if he fully knows what he’s doing to you. “Normally I sleep naked, but…”
“But not today,” you squeak, and he’s laughing again.
Not wanting to give him the satisfaction of letting him know that he’s getting to you, you throw the second pillow at his head and then roll to your side.
“Goodnight, Will.”
“Goodnight,” he answers softly. You listen as he potters around the room; probably tries to get his ‘bed’ for tonight as comfortable as possible. Finally, the lights click off.
You can’t sleep. You know it the second the lights are off, and Will’s breathing evens out. Your mind is going a million miles per hour and there’s so many things that happened, that you’re going to have to overthink before you can sleep. What’s not helping, either, is the fact that Will keeps tossing and turning.
You’re starting to feel a bit bad. You’re in a bed that’s big enough for two – maybe even three, it’s that big – and Will is laying on a cold, hard floor, with just one duvet and a pillow.
Outside, the wind is howling, and you know if you looked out the window the entire world would be covered in white. The room is warm enough, but you picture how there must be a draft, so close to the floor, and suddenly you can’t take it anymore.
It’s selfish, to make him sleep on the floor all because you’re worried about wanting things you can’t have.
“This is stupid,” you say, sitting up. “You should just sleep in the bed.”
For a second, it’s quiet. When Will speaks, he sounds unsure. “Are you sure? I mean, the floor isn’t great, but I don’t mind, I promise, if you’d rather not…”
“Look, we don’t have to, like, cuddle, or anything.” You can feel yourself blush but in the darkness of the room, there’s no way Will can see, so you keep talking. “You stay on your side, I’ll stay on my side, and it’s basically the same distance as having you on the floor. Just, the floor is cold, and uncomfortable, and there’s no need to…”
“Okay,” Will cuts you off, and he jumps up, duvet in hand. He’s grinning as he slides into the bed, curling the duvet around himself. “You don’t have to convince me, I was just being a gentleman.”
You snort. “Don’t do it again, it freaks me out.”
“You drive tomorrow, then,” Will hums, and it already feels better, to hear his voice right next to you instead of from somewhere at your feet. He sounds better, too; lighter, and more comfortable. “Hey, Y/N?”
“Hmm?” you answer, finally closing your eyes.
“If I had to cross the country in a Kia during a snow storm with anyone from that airport, I’m glad it’s you.”
You think of what you were thinking before, and smile.
“Me too, Willy, me too.”
It’s quiet again, and Will’s breathing starts evening out. For some reason, you still can’t calm down: you try to match your breathing to his, but it’s too shallow and you can feel your heart beating in your chest.
“You’re fidgeting,” Will says then, his voice loud in the quiet room. Only then do you notice that you have been twisting the duvet between your fingers time and time again. Will goes to lay on his stomach and turns his head to you. “You okay? I can sleep on the f…”
“It’s not you,” you interrupt him. It is, of course, but not in the way he thinks.
“Okay,” Will says slowly. “Then what?” Before you can answer he reaches out and slowly wraps his hand around yours, causing your fingers to dis-attach from the duvet.
And, the thing is…
You could tell him to mind his business. You could tell him a lie, or something that’s kinda true but not the real reason.
Tomorrow, you’ll be in Calgary. On your dad’s couch, drinking hot chocolate. And Will is gonna be in his own house. And then after Christmas, you’re both flying back to Toronto, but you’re not stupid. Will is a famous, and really attractive, athlete. You just got out of another failed relationship. You’re not good at relationships, turn out; you don’t even know if you really believe in love, anymore, don’t know if you even think it’s worth it to try.
But right now, you’re here, and he’s here, and you swear you’re not imagining the way he looks at you, sometimes.
You’ve had to deal with cancelled planes, problems at work, a dumb ex boyfriend, and this stupid everlasting snow, ruining your life one day at a time. So, you might as well give yourself this one thing that you want.
“Or, it is you,” you say, and you can feel Will stiffen beside you. “But it’s not that I don’t want you in this bed with me. In fact, it’s kinda the opposite.”
You can feel your cheeks flush: you’re not good at this, don’t really know what to say.
But then Willy grins and suddenly he rolls around, his body now hovering over you as he pushes himself up on his forearms.
“So does that mean I finally get to kiss you?” he hums, and you answer by pressing your lips against his.
---
Hours later, you’re both naked, a mess of tangled limbs in sheets, and Will’s chest is rising and falling with every peaceful breath. You close your eyes and bury your face in his neck.
Outside, it snows, and it snows, and it snows.
---
You wish you could enjoy the next 10 hours.
First, you spend 2 hours getting showered and ready – it would’ve been a lot shorter if Will hadn’t slipped in the shower with you, so it’s his fault if you’re late – and then you have breakfast at the hotel while Will tells you more about his family.
His face lights up when he tell you which Christmas gifts he’s got for his siblings and it’s adorable.
Then, you drive. The final 6 hour drive, and it flies by so fast you would’ve believed it if someone said it was just 2. You drive the first few hours and then Will takes over for the last part, and you chat the whole way there.
At some point, Will starts singing along to Christmas songs, and you don’t even change the channel.
“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow,” Will croons; you can’t help but laugh and then you’re both laughing and singing along at the top of your lungs.
You wish it never had to end.
“So,” says Will, “this is your street, huh?”
You decided he would drop you off and take care of returning the rental car, and you’re almost regretting that decision cause you would’ve liked those 20 extra minutes with him. However, you know that that is, objectively, insane, so you ignore the knives that are being ran through your heart when Will parks the car on the curb.
“Home, at last,” he says, softly. He’s not smiling anymore. “So, when we get back to Toronto, we should…”
“Don’t,” you interrupt softly. “We both know this is where it ends for us.”
At this, Will frowns. “It doesn’t have to.”
“Yes, it does.” You swallow heavily, try to get rid of the lump in your throat. It doesn’t feel right but it is, and you need to let it end here before you end up with hopes that will crash and burn and expectations that will never be met.
“What if I don’t want it to?” he asks quietly.
As much as Will might believe he wants to see you again – and you don’t doubt that he’s being truthful about that - it’s just not realistic.
People don’t meet the love of their life in an airport after a cancelled flight, don’t live together forever after long a cross-country drive, don’t live happily ever after after a snowed in hotel.
People do leave their husbands and kids the week before Christmas, they do cheat on you, they do break your heart.
Snow might make things seem more magical, but after all, it’s just frozen water.
“But I want that.”
Will’s face falls, his eyes sad and honest, but he nods slowly. “Okay,” he says. “Thanks for the drive, then.”
His voice is distant, now, cold and impersonal: you know you deserve it but it hurts, anyway, and you scurry out of the car, take your suitcase out of the trunk.
You’re standing next to the car, ready to walk down the driveway, when the window opens.
Will’s head pops out, and he sends you what you think is meant to be a smile. It’s not a real one, and he still mostly just looks sad, but he’s trying, you think.
“I know December is a hard month for you, but I truly do hope it’s gonna get better. Merry Christmas, Y/N.”
The window closes and the car drives off, and something inside of you breaks.
“Merry Christmas, Will,” you whisper with tears in your eyes. You could’ve stood there for hours, but the front door opens.
“Y/N?” your dad’s voice calls. “I’m so glad you made it, you won’t believe the snow we’ve had…”
---
There’s a blanket on your lap as well as Snuggles – your dad’s cat – and you’re drinking tea while Elf plays on the television.
Your dad has been talking excitedly all through dinner, but now it’s quiet as he watches the movie. He seems happy, light, and it soothes something inside of you.
Sometimes you worry about him.
It’s not until the end credits roll that your dad turns to you. “Are you gonna tell me what’s wrong?” he asks tentatively, and that’s all that you need to hear in order to break into tears. “Oh, honey,” he sighs, then takes your hand in his. “What happened?”
You have no idea where to start.
“Dad,” you whisper, “do you think you can die from a broken heart?”
Your dad smiles sadly, shakes his head. “If you could, I would’ve been gone by now, probably,” he jokes, but it doesn’t land. “Is this about that boyfriend of yours?”
And, well, the funny thing is, you haven’t told your dad about the break up, but it doesn’t even matter. Your heart is broken and it has nothing to do with your ex.
So you tell him about Will. You tell him about how you almost weren’t here, tell him about cancelled planes and one lone rental car, about how he went from Will to William Nylander right back to Will, about coffee breaks and sleeping on the side of the road and skating and the little kid who hurt his hand, about snow storms and a hotel room with one bed – not about anything else from that night, though – and finally you tell him about goodbye.
When it’s all said and done, your dad frowns. “You keep saying it had to end. But honey, it sounds like you really like this guy.”
You do, oh God, you do.
“Why would it have to end?”
You don’t say anything, but as always, he knows exactly what you mean.
“Just because it ended for your mom and I doesn’t mean it always has to end, you know. Sometimes it’s worth to try.” He pats your hand. “I think you should call him.”
And that’s when it hits you. It doesn’t really matter if you’d wanna call him.
You don’t even have his phone number.
---
“Y/N! Patient in room 11!” your colleague yells. “I’m going to the kid in room 4 if you need me!”
You sigh and throw down your clipboard. You have no idea why the hospital is so busy; it’s December 28th, which promises a disaster on New Years Eve, which is usually your busiest day of the year.
Fireworks, man.
You’ve been on your feet for 9 hours but you don’t even really mind. Just the thrill of working in a new hospital has been keeping you going; it might have something to do with the fact that this hospital will let you finish your residency, too. They called you the day after Christmas.
Some might call it somewhat of a Christmas miracle.
“I’m on it,” you call back, then start making your way to room 11. You nearly bump into the doctor you’re working with today, and she halts you by putting a hand on your arm.
“Are you a Leafs fan?” she asks.
It might be the weirdest thing someone has randomly asked you; the conversations you have had with this woman have ranged from “can you get me some blood from the vomiting boy” and “in what room do I find the catheters” and now she’s asking you about your sports teams?
Your heart clenches tightly as you think of Will.
“Not really,” you answers. That seems to be the right answer because the doctor smiles and waves towards the room, telling you to enter. You’re still confused by the whole exchange when you walk into the room and nearly trip over your own feet.
“Oh,” Will says slowly, “that’s quite a coincidence.”
It’s like your tongue has grown two sizes; you can’t speak, can’t even begin to think of what words to say, when suddenly you notice something.
“What the hell happened to you?”
There’s blood all over the hand he’s clutching to his chest, and his face is white as a ghost. Next to him is an equally pale guy wearing a Leafs sweater, who is staring at you with wide eyes.
“Uhm, I fell,” Will says sheepishly. “Turns out snow is quite slippery.”
It hasn’t snowed in Toronto in days.
“He didn’t fall in the snow,” the guy next to him grumbles. “I tried to wrestle the remote out of his hand and he fell into the Christmas tree and sliced his hand open with an ornament.”
“And Kappy has just promised to clean everything up, right, Kap?” Will asks with a sly smirk. Some of the color is returning to his face, which is more than you can say for his friend Kappy.
“Okay, well, let me have a look,” you mutter, and you gather some of your supplies before sitting next to the bed.
If you try very hard to avoid Will’s eyes and focus completely on the gash on his hand, that’s between you and the hospital room.
“So, first aid, huh?” Will asks. “Found a new job? Told you.” He sounds stupidly smug, so you raise your eyebrow and press the gauze to the wound. He inhales sharply. “That’s mean.”
“I’m trying to clean it,” you tell him sternly. “Sit still. God, Timmy was a better patient.”
“Hey,” Will protests, offended. “I’m a perfect patient.”
When you see how deep the wound is, you wonder how it’s possible that Will is still so chatty, and you also feel a little nauseous; it’s always different when it’s someone you care about.
“I’m gonna go get doctor Summers,” you say, and your voice is a little unsteady.
You’re probably imagining the edge of disappointment to Will’s voice when he says: “Yeah, okay.”
While doctor Summers examines Will’s hand, his eyes are fixed on you, and you keep yours fixed on your shoes. There’s so much you want to say to him, so much you want to do, but this is not the time or the place and also you have no idea how to start a conversation like that.
You tune back into the here and now when you hear the word “surgery.”
“It’s not a real surgery,” doctor Summers says, “I just think we need to set a bone and we also need to stitch up the muscles.”
Will is a little pale again as he nods.
You get send away to prepare the necessities for the procedure and when you come back, Will’s friend is gone.
“He’s gonna pick me up when I’m done,” says Will, who sees you looking. “Are you gonna… Are you gonna be here, while she does it?”
“Nope,” you answer, and this time you’re definitely not imagining the way his face falls. “Are you gonna get in trouble with the team for this?”
Will pulls a face. “I’ll probably get a stern talking to from Kyle.” When he sees your expression, he laughs. “My boss.” He sighs, looks out the window.
It’s started snowing, again, because apparently the universe loves taunting you.
“You know what the worst thing is? I ruined my tree.”
“That’s definitely not the worst part,” you roll your eyes. “It’s after Christmas, you should’ve probably taken it down anyway.”
“I couldn’t take it down yet,” says Will, his face completely serious, “there’s still one Christmas miracle I’m waiting for.”
He’s staring at you intently and you can feel your heart beating in your throat.
There’s no way he means…
But what if there is?
You make a decision then, and when Will is getting his hand worked on in a different room you run to the cafeteria.
“Hey,” you yell at the lady behind the counter. “I’m gonna borrow this for a second!”
She looks at you like you’re a crazy person and you can’t blame her: you’re literally standing in your scrubs, screaming at her from the middle of the cafeteria after having just yanked a tiny Christmas tree from the table.
“Okay?” she yells back, and it sounds more like a question than a blessing, but you take it and run anyway.
Room 11 is still empty; although Will’s coat is still lying on the bed, so he must be coming back. You take the tiny tree and put it on the bed side table, plug it in.
There’s only about 10 lights in the tree, but when you flick off the big lights, it still looks pretty Christmassy.
And so, you wait.
To say you’re nervous would be an understatement; there’s every possibility in the world that Will has changed his mind since you last saw each other, and the last thing he wants is you confessing how much you like him in a hospital room after just having destroyed his hand, but you have to try.
Every time you think about bailing, you hear your dad’s voice in your head.
Sometimes it’s worth it to try.
This is one of those times.
“No strenuous activities, take it easy…” Finally you hear doctor Summers voice and you stand up.
The door opens tauntingly slowly, and there is Will. At first, his eyes widen as they catch the Christmas tree, and then his head swivels around and he sees you; a slow smile spreads across his face.
“A Christmas tree?” he asks.
“Well,” you smile, “you did say you wanted a Christmas miracle…”
“But you don’t like Christmas,” Will points out.
And that’s true, but…
You take a step closer and Will raises an eyebrow, questioning but not looking like he wants to run away.
“I don’t,” you admit. “I didn’t. But then something happened… Or, well, someone happened. And now I’m thinking that I might have to give Christmas a chance.” You’re standing right in front of Will, now, and he had all the time in the world to back off but he didn’t. Instead, he’s looking at you with an amused expression on his face, the corners of his mouth curled into a tentative smile.
“I think there might be a few things I have to give a chance,” you finish.
“God,” Will breathes. “I really hope you mean us.”
Instead of answering, you kiss him.
It feels somewhat familiar and yet as if you’ve never been kissed before: there’s fireworks in your stomach and everything feels warm and fuzzy, like nothing matters except for the feeling of Will’s lips on your lips, his chest pressed against yours.
“Y/N!” someone yells from the hallway, and you reluctantly pull away.
“I have to get back to work…”
“Okay,” Will whispers, pecks you cheek quickly. “But we’ll talk…”
“I’m done with work in an hour,” you interrupt.
Will nods. “I’ll tell Kappy he doesn’t have to pick me up.” He grins. “Unless you’d rather not drive in the snow?”
“Shut up,” you tell him, but it’s with nothing but fondness.
You’re already running to the hallway, ready to see the next patient, when you hear Will yell after you: “You said you hate snow!”
And that’s kinda true, but…
Sometimes, even if it messes up your plane, or gets you stuck in a snowstorm, or makes you fall on your ass…
You just have to let it snow.

Hananene cute scenario ideas 💗
Hi! To be honest I'm not much of a writer (even if I do try to write fanfics sometimes.) But here I'm gonna lay down some cute ideas I got for Hananene, so if some of those may or may not inspire you to write a fanfiction on your own then please feel free to borrow my ideas! But when you do please link me to the fanfic because I'll definitely want to read it! 💕💕
1) Yashiro teaching Hanako how to play video games/using smartphones!
Because Hanako is a space nerd he's probably also really interested in the development of science in general through the years. And since he's a ghost he sneaks into different classrooms to listen to the science teachers giving lessons to the students of the school. Yashiro had noticed that so she shows him videos of new technologies on her phone. Hanako finds it amazing how a tiny device like a smartphone can do so many things! It can take photos, record voices and videos, be used as an alarm clock, be used to write stuff on it, look up anything at any time in the whole world, etc. Hanako secretly wishes he could have a phone since it seems so useful but he's honestly not sure how to get one since he can't leave the school. Yashiro also lets him play some games on her phone even if he sucks a lot at first, after a little while he gets the hang of it! He prefers silly little games that involve playing with animals, cutting random people's hair and make it into a mess, adventure style games, etc. He's not a big fan of Yashiro's "raising idols" games though... he says that it's because he sucks at rhythm games and doesn't really like the songs but it's probably because he's pissed that the idols in the game are way too handsome 😂 Though he did ask which character in the game was Yashiro's favorite and of course, it was a tall blond hottie who looks like Teru which made Hanako even more irritated.
Also, Yashiro keeps a couple of Hanako's favorite games on her phone so he can play them when he wants. One time she encouraged him to try an idol raising game but this time with female idols (love live/bandori style.) Unsurprisingly he loved it because the game was full of cute girls. (Btw, his favorites in love live would be Honoka, Kotori, Chika and Riko because they all remind him of Yashiro since they have some similar personality traits, same for Kasumi, Tsugumi, Himari and Aya from bandori.)
2) Yashiro dressing up as Hanako for Halloween! It's a common idea in the fandom that Hanako would find Yashiro super cute in his hat, so imagine if she wore the whole outfit! Even better if it's a matching one rather than exactly the same as his, like, she'd wear all white to contrast with the fact that he wears all black.
3) So we already know that Yashiro has an embarrassing journal where she rewrites her everyday life in a really... shoujo-esque style. (The part where she wrote that her and Teru are secretly dating and he would always stare at her 😂) So one day she mistakenly brings it to school without noticing (maybe she was too distracted and grabbed her journal instead of a textbook or something?) So she tries her best to hide it but somehow Hanako finds it.
He knows that it's really bad to look through other people's stuff but he can't help but feel really curious. He knows it's gonna be torture since it's probably gonna be filled with lots of Teru and other handsome guys Yashiro fantasizes about but he's really interested to know in what is Yashiro into.
Well, of course she likes all the most cliche stuff there is... kisses in secret, getting trapped in a small space like a closet to be as close as possible with a guy, hugging in a dark place, being called a "silly girl"/anything that sounds slightly embarrassing, and of course: kabe-dons (that's the thing where you're pushed against a wall 😂).
So turns out that Yashiro does actually like physical contact, huh? And being called weird names... but the thing that surprises Hanako the most is that there are a couple of pages about him too!!! Especially the day of the confession tree when he destroyed kodama, it was written that Yashiro's heart skipped a beat when he took his hat off. It made Hanako incredibly happy to know that he did have some charm even if Yashiro still prefers tall prince-charming guys it wasn't like his chances with her were zero! After that he felt really giddy... and really cocky. He would grin all the time with Yashiro and try some of the things he read in her journal. He would also take his hat off more often.
4) The school festival is soon! Yashiro's class wasn't really finding any good ideas, it was all cliche stuff like takoyaki stands, haunted houses, etc. Stuff that other classes will also choose and maybe do better than them. After some thinking Yashiro suggests a cafe from the 1960s, since Hanako was alive in those years. Maybe it would make him happy to see students walking in old clothes and all instead of always wearing the school uniform?
The day of the school festival Hanako was really surprised. Did we go back in time or something? Everything was really well done, it really looked like back then. Hanako wasn't really sure what to think of it since it made him remember some happy times... and some not so happy times... but when he saw Yashiro all of his worries were blown away! She was wearing a super cute and colorful dress from the 1960s, it made Hanako stare at her all the time. Tsuchigomori noticed of course and teased him about it.
"You're really staring a lot, huh kid? It would've been pretty nice if she was one of your classmates back in the day, wouldn't it?"
Hanako is a blushing mess 😂 They also put popular songs from the 1960s in the cafe and Hanako manages to recognize quite a lot of them! Though his heart really races when Yashiro sings along to one of the songs. In the end they both dance and sing it together! It was super fun for Hanako and he loved the school festival because of that. Yashiro admits that she was the one to come up with the idea to make him happy and Hanako is even more touched.
5) it's kind of spoiler-ish, but what if after number 6's arc Aoi is able to see apparitions too? It would be really cute if she can sense that Yashiro and Hanako have a crush on eachother so she constantly teases them to make them get closer. Aoi really becomes the wingman(/wingwoman?) of Hananene, she does everything she can to make them embarrassed and self-conscious. She even gives advice to Hanako on how to flirt with Yashiro since she's her best friend she knows a whole lot about it. As for Yashiro, she gives her tips on how to "seduce guys" and encourages her to "try them out on Hanako to see if it works" *wink wink nudge nudge* but of course it always works on Hanako no matter what Yashiro does...
6) This is more of a AU idea since it's a bit OOC but, imagine if Yashiro becomes super flirty with Hanako when she falls for him? Like Hanako is just teasing/borderline trying to seduce her as usual but then Yashiro answers back with something even more daring and Hanako just becomes a blushing mess. It's literally the
"Why did you run away?!?"
"I didn't expect her to flirt back!!!"
meme 😂
Of course Hanako always clinges to Yashiro so there's nothing new there, but when Yashiro clinges to Hanako? Oh boy.
The poor guy can't align 2 words anymore. He's stuttering and wondering what's going on.
It would be funny if Yashiro is the agressive kind of flirt, the type that always roasts/shames her crush when she tries flirting. Most of the time she's trying to be nice about it but unconsciously most of her flirting is almost a roast session.
The worst (or best) part is when they're alone because Yashiro can say all the shameless stuff she can't in public 😂
Stuff like:
"Hey, you really are a perv for haunting the girls' bathroom out of all the places there is in the school. I bet that if I couldn't see you, you would probably look at my underwear, wouldn't you? 😤"
Or
"It's not fair that you're always making me clean the bathrooms without any rewards... won't you at least give me a kiss on the lips? That's like, the minimum you can do. 🙄"
A kiss on the lips is the minimum?? Then what's the maximum?!?
Hanako is literally dying inside, anytime they're alone he panics, he's like "oh god it's coming, what is she going to say this time??"
How the tables have turned. Yashiro beat him at his own game 😂
Welp. That's about it for now. Which one was your favorite? I'm gonna be honest, mine is the Yashiro agressive flirting one! It really makes me think about that one Miraculous Ladybug fanfic where Marinette is throwing daring pick-up lines at Adrien left and right. Unfortunately I don't remember the name but it's a really popular one! You can probably find it easily, it's on tumblr and AO3 if I remember correctly.
