hmmm wait thinking about theatre kids ferris cameron and sloane…..
-ferris always gets the lead without even having to try very much
-sloane often gets a lead or supporting but she’s much more humble about it
-some people are mad about this but it’s hard to be when they’re actually amazing performers, especially together (except jeanie. jeanie will always be a hater🩷)
-cameron does lighting, he protested ferris and sloane’s efforts to get him to join theatre for a while but he wound up loving it
-he micromanages the booth and is completely unaware of the fear/respect/awe he instills in the younger kids working in there
-ferris has been doing theatre since he was really young, his parents always enthusiastically supported him and got him performing in community productions
-he also very much was the kid that always got a solo in the school choir (despite the lack of instrumental talent, he’s actually an excellent singer. yes, he will burst into song)
-sloane always enjoyed watching theatre but didn’t start participating in it until middle school
-she’s an actress but she also helps out with costumes and makeup a lot
-cameron was way too anxious and insecure to join on his own. when he and ferris were younger, he would always go watch the productions fer was in, and when they started hanging out with sloane he would tag along to rehearsals every once in a while
-sloane and ferris started pressing for him to join tech, which he refused to do for years until at the beginning of his junior year the tech manager let him mess around with the lights and sound during one rehearsal and he was like woah wait this is kinda fun. fall play he actually joined and by spring my guy was the boss of that booth
-ferris and sloane (mostly ferris) will dramatically practice their lines at any given moment
-cam often helps them with their lines and sometimes catches himself getting really into it
-they get in a lot of practice for onstage kisses (even if it’s with each other, ferris and sloane will still go “oh cameronnn, could you help me with this kiss? I just can’t seem to get the timing right🥺” cameron rolls his eyes but happily obliges every time)
-ferris serenades the other two whenever given the chance
Their favorite productions:
Ferris: grease (you don’t know how much it hurts me to say that… but it would be true)
Sloane: I think she has several but among them are who’s afraid of virginia woolf? and romeo and juliet (also mamma mia & legally blonde when they open)
Cameron: little shop of horrors
#it is. 12:30 am. I think I got carried away.#anyways lemme know if you want to see more abt this!#I will def have more thoughts#ferris bueller's day off

Life After Info Post
[Click here to access the Life After Digital Comic Book]
Summary: Two years ago, a viral outbreak rose the dead. Considering how his life had gone up to this point, surgeon Trafalgar Law figured this might as well happen too. When a supply run into the nearby city gets intercepted by a seemingly reckless and impulsive former patient, the dependable routine Law had settled into in this new life shatters. He finds himself exposed — his body out in the infected landscape, his conscious clawing to define what he believes is right, his heart begrudgingly deciding to find a new home on his sleeve. Maybe there’s more than a virus roaming the new world that can bring a dead man back to life.
Content Warnings: Canon typical violence, zombies/body horror (but lbr I am not good at making scary things look scary)
Relationships: Luffy x Law
Update Schedule: New page every Monday/Wednesday/Friday
Page Count: [37 posted | 55 drawn]
Latest Update: [7/21/24] WOWEE did I get myself carried away this morning. I just spent 5 hours organizing my comics and creating the digital comic book pages. I could have spent that time drawing or idk not doing what I do for my job, but I cannot be stopped. Anyway I blocked out 30 pages of this comic last week and they include the most intense action sequence I've ever done in my gotdang life. Wish me luck because I am nervous about tying down all my drawings lmao.
OLD UPDATES:
[6/29/24] HULLO! I'm doing so bad at keeping my masterposts updated lately I am sorry. All pages of life after are tagged life after if you're ever looking between masterpost updates! Also exciting update, I finally have figured out all the different plot points i'm gonna be hitting (yay!). I got hung up on something for awhile that made me not wanna work on this project, but I'm back at it. I think we'll end up with 6-7 parts! I have probably another 80-100 pages to draw lol. Also i got the app Magic Poser and it's AWESOME and I immediately used it to block out sets cuz MAN I hate backgrounds.
[6/10/24] HELLO. I'm sorry I've been shit at updating my masterposts lately. It's easiest to do from my computer, which I rarely use, and life has been happening. I also can't believe I bungled the queue and posted pg19 before pg18 i am very sorry 🤦 Eventually I'll have to turn this into an airtable base I'm sure, but until that day comes where I have like 100 pages of this comic we're stickin to the regular post lmao
[5/26/23] I got real caught up in doing summer of lawlu comics this week and this is the first week since the first week of April I haven't drawn new Life After pages and it feels weird 🙊
[5/19/24] More Luffy backstory comin' this week! :^)
[5/12/24] Updating now so get myself on schedule to update on Sundays like I had been with my other comic master post!
[5/8/24] Thank you to everyone who's liked/reblogged/comment on the first few pages!! It means the world to me that anyone's reading my silly little comics.
[4/28/24] HULLO. It’s happeninnng. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on this comic, and I gotta make this post so I can start queuing pages & link this in them! This is the most like….legit? Comic endeavor I’ve undertaken perhaps….ever. I’m very nervous about committing to how long it will need to be lol. This story is dear to my heart — zombie content is kind of my very favorite. I’ve always found it to be a great backdrop for exploring themes like grief, coping with change, community, and learning to live again. It’ll be a long haul but I hope you’ll ride it out with me!! Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first two pages. After that a page will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. As of this post I’ve completed over 20 pages so that I have a good lead on what’s posting and continuing to write, so I’m hopeful that’s a cadence I’ll be able to maintain. I’ll update this post weekly to include the most recent pages the way I do with my main comics master post. All pages will be tagged 'Life After' and I'll tag any pages with zombies in them with 'zombie' for blacklisting etc.

| Rosekiller microfic | Word count: 790 | And yes, I am indeed a sucker for the whole sharing-a-bed trope |
-
Evan sighed as he entered his and Barty’s shared apartment, closing the door behind him quietly in case Barty was already asleep. It was very possible, seeing as Evan had had a late night at his work, not even getting done until 12:30. Add that to the drive home, and the stress of navigating through the crowded city streets, and he was exhausted. He wanted nothing more than to collapse into his bed and to sleep for a very long while.
The apartment was dark when he stepped in. Turning on the light wasn’t worth it when he was planning on going straight to his room, so he simply turned on his phone flashlight and made his way through the cramped, small kitchen, around the couch, and arrived at door to his room.
Which, Evan noticed, was wide open. He didn’t remember leaving it open this morning, but he supposed it was possible that he had just forgotten to.
His mouth cracked open into a huge yawn as he stepped through the doorway. He definitely needed to sleep.
And then his gaze fell on his bed. Or, more accurately, what was in his bed.
Barty was passed out on top of his blankets, mouth wide open and body sprawled across the entire mattress. His hair was in a giant mop atop his head, all messed up, and it was clear from his clothes that he had gone out tonight.
But none of that explained how Barty had ended up in Evan’s bed instead of his own. And Evan hated to wake him up, he really did, but he was in dire need of sleep and Barty wasn’t about to wake up on his own anytime soon. So Evan pushed his reluctance aside and shook Barty’s shoulder, whispering a soft, “Barty. Wake up.”
At the disturbance, Barty’s eyes blinked open lazily and a smile spread across his face as he took in Evan.
“Hey, Rosie,” he slurred ever so slightly. “‘M tired.”
“Me, too,” Evan sighed. “So I’m going to need you to get out of my bed.”
Barty looked around in confusion. “Wait. This is your bed? Huh. I was just drunk and crashed in the first bed I saw.”
“Uh, yes, it is my bed, genius. And you’re taking up all the space. So, scram.”
Barty pouted at Evan’s tone. “But I don’t want to get up.”
“Too bad.”
“You’ll have to carry me,” Barty countered, raising a challenging eyebrow. And really, did he have to be so difficult?
But Evan wasn’t just going to give up his bed with its warm sheets and cosy blankets, so he grabbed Barty’s arm and started pulling him out of the bed. Naturally, Barty responded by going completely limp.
“Do you really,” Evan gritted out, struggling to move Barty, “have to go to such lengths? You could just stand up.”
“And you could just go to sleep,” Barty said. Then yawned again.
“I can’t, because you’re in my bed,” Evan said impatiently. “Unless you want me to sleep on the couch?”
Barty scoffed. “Don‘t be ridiculous. There’s plenty of space in your bed, even with me in it. Come on.” He patted the space beside him, and Evan’s stomach twisted. Somehow, he had a feeling that he wouldn’t get a wink of sleep if he were in bed next to Barty.
“I don’t think I will,” he said.
“Oh, get over yourself. I’m too tired to argue, you’re too tired to argue, so just get in.”
Evan was quiet as he considered it. On one hand, the idea of Barty being only a foot away while he slept was enough to make his stomach turn worryingly inside of him. But on the other hand, he’d have to sleep on the couch if he didn’t take Barty up on his offer, and he knew that no matter how tired he might be, he’d never be able to fall asleep on that old thing. And he supposed that he could just take Barty’s bed, but somehow that felt way too intimate.
So, eyeing the space next to Barty, Evan reluctantly said, “Fine”, then climbed into the bed.
Evan hardly dared breathed as he got situated, sliding under the blankets so that he was lying next to Barty. He resolutely moved as far away as possible and turned his back toward Barty. He didn’t want to be able to see his face, because that would just make this entire situation worse.
“Goodnight, Evs,” Barty said, voice soft and quiet due to his exhaustion. Evan tried not to be endeared by it.
“Goodnight, Bee,” he replied. And then he shut his eyes tightly and tried his hardest to quiet his mind and fall asleep.

How about a fic where male reader goes out with they're husband to a sanrio store
✦ SANRIO ~ ♡ !
PAIRING: M!OC/M!READER
SYNOPSIS: your rich husband lets you spend money on your favorite thing, Sanrio.
A/N: Oc name is Osoro Rio!
“Hun, why are we going to the mall at 10 in the morning..?” Osoro asked tiredly.
“They’re having a sale! All Sanrio being 30% off! I can’t miss out!” you said excitedly, dragging him too the mall.
“Hun… the store doesn’t open till 12…” Osoro said.
“Oh..” you said, stilling at the realization.
“Oh well, I can spend money on other things in the mall!” You said happily, dragging him once more much to his dismay.
“Ooh, they have boba! Let’s go get some!” You said excitedly seeing a boba stand, running towards it.
“Hun, calm down you’re dragging me like a ragdoll…” Osoro tried saying, but you ignored already ordering two, memorizing his order.
“Seriously, a clothing shop? Hun, you have like a thousand outfits at home..” Osoro said looking around.
“So? Thrifting is fun, and better clothes then those designer companies. Barely know anything about fashion.” You argued back and eventually grumbling.
Osoro turned his head, before being appalled at the sight. You had your shopping cart already was 1/3 full.
You’ve been here for three minutes.
“Hun, you don’t think you’re getting a bit too much..?” He asked, still appalled.
“Nope.”
“I’m paying for all of this aren’t I..?”
“Mhm!” You confirmed.
“You’re also carrying everything!”
“Oh come on, (N/N)!”
“H-hun, a-are ya d-d-done?” Osoro shakily asked eyeing your cart, which was FULL. Full as in all the clothes were spilling out.
You looked around, before nodding.
“Guess I am, let’s go check out.” you mumbled.
The total was $987.87.
When you went to checkout, it was 11:20. Now it’s 11:56.
“Hun.. it’s 11:56.” Osoro mumbled, barely being able to hold on all the bags.
“The sales gonna start soon!” You gasped in excitement running away, leaving Osoro in the dust.
“Hun- wait for me..!” Osoro yelled after you.
“I’m just gonna drop everything to the car and come back..” Osoro sighed as he walked towards the exit.
Walking into the store, he realized how big it was. He turned his head and saw a depressed cashier, that was on the verge of passing out.
“Dang he looks rough..” Osoro mumbled, before walking ahead into the sanriotopia.
“Hmm… Sanrio nails, bags, supplies, ooh rings!” Osoro exclaimed.
Osoro took one that he deemed would fit you. He turned his head to look for you before seeing the same employee being yelled at by a Karen.
“My daughter wants that bag with the green frog on it! Tell that man to give it back!”
“Ma’am, I can’t do that. He got it first, just because your daughter wants it doesn’t mean he has to give it up…” the worker spoke tiredly.
“He is an adult! Where’s your manager!? I’d like to speak to them, and young man, where’s your wife!? As you’re clearly married, with that ring on you!” She yelled, causing ruckus.
Osoro turned his head to see the young man being YOU..?
“Ma’am, get out or I’m calling security.” The worker said sternly.
“Where’s your manager!?”
“He’s up my ass, I’m the only one who showed at work today. And I’m not taking bullshit, get the fuck out.” He said tiredly before kicking that woman and her kid out. Literally.
“And this green frogs name is Kerropi, and I have a husband too, get it right!” you yelled out at her.
Osoro sighs before walking up behind his husband, and kneeling on one knee.
“(N/N), will you marry me?” Osoro spoke with puppy eyes with the Sanrio ring in his hands, surprising you who turned around just in time.
“Osoro… we’re already married.” You mumbled, reminding him as you showed him your ring finger.
“So? We can still marry again!” Osoro grumbled not moving from his position.
“Fine, only cause the ring is cute and that everyones looking at us. Now get up!” You ushered him off the floor.
“Are you done, hun?” He asked you, peering down at your cart.
“No, I heard there’s onesies we should get matching ones!” You said, dragging Osoro once again.
“I don’t know how I can be taller then you, yet you still manage to pull me with you..”
“I’m just built different, Oso.”
“You’re hello kitty, I’m dear Daniel.” You decided giving him the onesies.
“Why am I hello kitty..?” Osoro asked, he was a man! No way was he gonna be-
“Because you act like a bitch boy sometimes.” You replied, not skipping a beat.
osoro sulked in silence.
“Oso, I’m just joking!” You chimed, already feeling him sulking.
“Ooh, oso they have hello kitty picture frames!” You suddenly yelled in excitement and awe.
“Are you gonna hello kittyify our house..?” Osoro asked starring at the frames.
“Mhm… you can’t do shit about it either.” You answered.
Osoro chuckled before patting your head.
Once you guys were finally done, you guys checked out. The same cashier being there.
He had prominent eyebags and looked gloomy, I mean I don’t blame him, imagine being the only one working at a store as big as a food court?
He had black curly hair, and looked like he could blow a bullet through the next persons head.
“Your total is $104.25… will you be using cash or credit? We don’t take debit.” He asked bluntly.
“Credit.” Osoro replied giving him his card.
“Okay thank you, bye. Come back never please.” The worker said slumping on the desk, falling asleep as soon as his head touched it.
“Jeez, a hundred bucks on hello kitty stuff??” Osoro asked, holding your bags.
“Mhm, now hold still so I can flaunt you and my stuff too my friends!” You said pulling your phone out.
two fics in one day, eat up my children!!

26 MINUTE READ (w/o ads)
APRIL 30, 2024 7:00 AM EDT
Donald Trump thinks he’s identified a crucial mistake of his first term: He was too nice.
We’ve been talking for more than an hour on April 12 at his fever-dream palace in Palm Beach. Aides lurk around the perimeter of a gilded dining room overlooking the manicured lawn. When one nudges me to wrap up the interview, I bring up the many former Cabinet officials who refuse to endorse Trump this time. Some have publicly warned that he poses a danger to the Republic. Why should voters trust you, I ask, when some of the people who observed you most closely do not?
As always, Trump punches back, denigrating his former top advisers. But beneath the typical torrent of invective, there is a larger lesson he has taken away. “I let them quit because I have a heart. I don’t want to embarrass anybody,” Trump says. “I don’t think I’ll do that again. From now on, I’ll fire.”
Six months from the 2024 presidential election, Trump is better positioned to win the White House than at any point in either of his previous campaigns. He leads Joe Biden by slim margins in most polls, including in several of the seven swing states likely to determine the outcome. But I had not come to ask about the election, the disgrace that followed the last one, or how he has become the first former—and perhaps future—American President to face a criminal trial. I wanted to know what Trump would do if he wins a second term, to hear his vision for the nation, in his own words.
What emerged in two interviews with Trump, and conversations with more than a dozen of his closest advisers and confidants, were the outlines of an imperial presidency that would reshape America and its role in the world. To carry out a deportation operation designed to remove more than 11 million people from the country, Trump told me, he would be willing to build migrant detention camps and deploy the U.S. military, both at the border and inland. He would let red states monitor women’s pregnancies and prosecute those who violate abortion bans. He would, at his personal discretion, withhold funds appropriated by Congress, according to top advisers. He would be willing to fire a U.S. Attorney who doesn’t carry out his order to prosecute someone, breaking with a tradition of independent law enforcement that dates from America’s founding. He is weighing pardons for every one of his supporters accused of attacking the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, more than 800 of whom have pleaded guilty or been convicted by a jury. He might not come to the aid of an attacked ally in Europe or Asia if he felt that country wasn’t paying enough for its own defense. He would gut the U.S. civil service, deploy the National Guard to American cities as he sees fit, close the White House pandemic-preparedness office, and staff his Administration with acolytes who back his false assertion that the 2020 election was stolen.
Trump remains the same guy, with the same goals and grievances. But in person, if anything, he appears more assertive and confident. “When I first got to Washington, I knew very few people,” he says. “I had to rely on people.” Now he is in charge. The arranged marriage with the timorous Republican Party stalwarts is over; the old guard is vanquished, and the people who remain are his people. Trump would enter a second term backed by a slew of policy shops staffed by loyalists who have drawn up detailed plans in service of his agenda, which would concentrate the powers of the state in the hands of a man whose appetite for power appears all but insatiable. “I don’t think it’s a big mystery what his agenda would be,” says his close adviser Kellyanne Conway. “But I think people will be surprised at the alacrity with which he will take action.”
The courts, the Constitution, and a Congress of unknown composition would all have a say in whether Trump’s objectives come to pass. The machinery of Washington has a range of defenses: leaks to a free press, whistle-blower protections, the oversight of inspectors general. The same deficiencies of temperament and judgment that hindered him in the past remain present. If he wins, Trump would be a lame duck—contrary to the suggestions of some supporters, he tells TIME he would not seek to overturn or ignore the Constitution’s prohibition on a third term. Public opinion would also be a powerful check. Amid a popular outcry, Trump was forced to scale back some of his most draconian first-term initiatives, including the policy of separating migrant families. As George Orwell wrote in 1945, the ability of governments to carry out their designs “depends on the general temper in the country.”
Every election is billed as a national turning point. This time that rings true. To supporters, the prospect of Trump 2.0, unconstrained and backed by a disciplined movement of true believers, offers revolutionary promise. To much of the rest of the nation and the world, it represents an alarming risk. A second Trump term could bring “the end of our democracy,” says presidential historian Douglas Brinkley, “and the birth of a new kind of authoritarian presidential order.”
Trump steps onto the patio at Mar-a-Lago near dusk. The well-heeled crowd eating Wagyu steaks and grilled branzino pauses to applaud as he takes his seat. On this gorgeous evening, the club is a MAGA mecca. Billionaire donor Steve Wynn is here. So is Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who is dining with the former President after a joint press conference proposing legislation to prevent noncitizens from voting. Their voting in federal elections is already illegal, and extremely rare, but remains a Trumpian fixation that the embattled Speaker appeared happy to co-sign in exchange for the political cover that standing with Trump provides.
At the moment, though, Trump’s attention is elsewhere. With an index finger, he swipes through an iPad on the table to curate the restaurant’s soundtrack. The playlist veers from Sinead O’Connor to James Brown to The Phantom of the Opera. And there’s a uniquely Trump choice: a rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” sung by a choir of defendants imprisoned for attacking the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, interspersed with a recording of Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. This has become a staple of his rallies, converting the ultimate symbol of national unity into a weapon of factional devotion.
The spectacle picks up where his first term left off. The events of Jan. 6, during which a pro-Trump mob attacked the center of American democracy in an effort to subvert the peaceful transfer of power, was a profound stain on his legacy. Trump has sought to recast an insurrectionist riot as an act of patriotism. “I call them the J-6 patriots,” he says. When I ask whether he would consider pardoning every one of them, he says, “Yes, absolutely.” As Trump faces dozens of felony charges, including for election interference, conspiracy to defraud the United States, willful retention of national-security secrets, and falsifying business records to conceal hush-money payments, he has tried to turn legal peril into a badge of honor.
In a second term, Trump’s influence on American democracy would extend far beyond pardoning powers. Allies are laying the groundwork to restructure the presidency in line with a doctrine called the unitary executive theory, which holds that many of the constraints imposed on the White House by legislators and the courts should be swept away in favor of a more powerful Commander in Chief.
Nowhere would that power be more momentous than at the Department of Justice. Since the nation’s earliest days, Presidents have generally kept a respectful distance from Senate-confirmed law-enforcement officials to avoid exploiting for personal ends their enormous ability to curtail Americans’ freedoms. But Trump, burned in his first term by multiple investigations directed by his own appointees, is ever more vocal about imposing his will directly on the department and its far-flung investigators and prosecutors.
In our Mar-a-Lago interview, Trump says he might fire U.S. Attorneys who refuse his orders to prosecute someone: “It would depend on the situation.” He’s told supporters he would seek retribution against his enemies in a second term. Would that include Fani Willis, the Atlanta-area district attorney who charged him with election interference, or Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan DA in the Stormy Daniels case, who Trump has previously said should be prosecuted? Trump demurs but offers no promises. “No, I don’t want to do that,” he says, before adding, “We’re gonna look at a lot of things. What they’ve done is a terrible thing.”
Trump has also vowed to appoint a “real special prosecutor” to go after Biden. “I wouldn’t want to hurt Biden,” he tells me. “I have too much respect for the office.” Seconds later, though, he suggests Bidens fate may be tied to an upcoming Supreme Court ruling on whether Presidents can face criminal prosecution for acts committed in office. “If they said that a President doesn’t get immunity,” says Trump, “then Biden, I am sure, will be prosecuted for all of his crimes.” (Biden has not been charged with any, and a House Republican effort to impeach him has failed to unearth evidence of any crimes or misdemeanors, high or low.)
Such moves would be potentially catastrophic for the credibility of American law enforcement, scholars and former Justice Department leaders from both parties say. “If he ordered an improper prosecution, I would expect any respectable U.S. Attorney to say no,” says Michael McConnell, a former U.S. appellate judge appointed by President George W. Bush. “If the President fired the U.S. Attorney, it would be an enormous firestorm.” McConnell, now a Stanford law professor, says the dismissal could have a cascading effect similar to the Saturday Night Massacre, when President Richard Nixon ordered top DOJ officials to remove the special counsel investigating Watergate. Presidents have the constitutional right to fire U.S. Attorneys, and typically replace their predecessors’ appointees upon taking office. But discharging one specifically for refusing a President’s order would be all but unprecedented.
Trump’s radical designs for presidential power would be felt throughout the country. A main focus is the southern border. Trump says he plans to sign orders to reinstall many of the same policies from his first term, such as the Remain in Mexico program, which requires that non-Mexican asylum seekers be sent south of the border until their court dates, and Title 42, which allows border officials to expel migrants without letting them apply for asylum. Advisers say he plans to cite record border crossings and fentanyl- and child-trafficking as justification for reimposing the emergency measures. He would direct federal funding to resume construction of the border wall, likely by allocating money from the military budget without congressional approval. The capstone of this program, advisers say, would be a massive deportation operation that would target millions of people. Trump made similar pledges in his first term, but says he plans to be more aggressive in a second. “People need to be deported,” says Tom Homan, a top Trump adviser and former acting head of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. “No one should be off the table.”
For an operation of that scale, Trump says he would rely mostly on the National Guard to round up and remove undocumented migrants throughout the country. “If they weren’t able to, then I’d use [other parts of] the military,” he says. When I ask if that means he would override the Posse Comitatus Act—an 1878 law that prohibits the use of military force on civilians—Trump seems unmoved by the weight of the statute. “Well, these aren’t civilians,” he says. “These are people that aren’t legally in our country.” He would also seek help from local police and says he would deny funding for jurisdictions that decline to adopt his policies. “There’s a possibility that some won’t want to participate,” Trump says, “and they won’t partake in the riches.”
As President, Trump nominated three Supreme Court Justices who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, and he claims credit for his role in ending a constitutional right to an abortion. At the same time, he has sought to defuse a potent campaign issue for the Democrats by saying he wouldn’t sign a federal ban. In our interview at Mar-a-Lago, he declines to commit to vetoing any additional federal restrictions if they came to his desk. More than 20 states now have full or partial abortion bans, and Trump says those policies should be left to the states to do what they want, including monitoring women’s pregnancies. “I think they might do that,” he says. When I ask whether he would be comfortable with states prosecuting women for having abortions beyond the point the laws permit, he says, “It’s irrelevant whether I’m comfortable or not. It’s totally irrelevant, because the states are going to make those decisions.” President Biden has said he would fight state anti-abortion measures in court and with regulation.
Trump’s allies don’t plan to be passive on abortion if he returns to power. The Heritage Foundation has called for enforcement of a 19th century statute that would outlaw the mailing of abortion pills. The Republican Study Committee (RSC), which includes more than 80% of the House GOP conference, included in its 2025 budget proposal the Life at Conception Act, which says the right to life extends to “the moment of fertilization.” I ask Trump if he would veto that bill if it came to his desk. “I don’t have to do anything about vetoes,” Trump says, “because we now have it back in the states.”
Presidents typically have a narrow window to pass major legislation. Trump’s team is eyeing two bills to kick off a second term: a border-security and immigration package, and an extension of his 2017 tax cuts. Many of the latter’s provisions expire early in 2025: the tax cuts on individual income brackets, 100% business expensing, the doubling of the estate-tax deduction. Trump is planning to intensify his protectionist agenda, telling me he’s considering a tariff of more than 10% on all imports, and perhaps even a 100% tariff on some Chinese goods. Trump says the tariffs will liberate the U.S. economy from being at the mercy of foreign manufacturing and spur an industrial renaissance in the U.S. When I point out that independent analysts estimate Trump’s first term tariffs on thousands of products, including steel and aluminum, solar panels, and washing machines, may have cost the U.S. $316 billion and more than 300,000 jobs, by one account, he dismisses these experts out of hand. His advisers argue that the average yearly inflation rate in his first term—under 2%—is evidence that his tariffs won’t raise prices.
Since leaving office, Trump has tried to engineer a caucus of the compliant, clearing primary fields in Senate and House races. His hope is that GOP majorities replete with MAGA diehards could rubber-stamp his legislative agenda and nominees. Representative Jim Banks of Indiana, a former RSC chairman and the GOP nominee for the state’s open Senate seat, recalls an August 2022 RSC planning meeting with Trump at his residence in Bedminster, N.J. As the group arrived, Banks recalls, news broke that Mar-a-Lago had been raided by the FBI. Banks was sure the meeting would be canceled. Moments later, Trump walked through the doors, defiant and pledging to run again. “I need allies there when I’m elected,” Banks recalls Trump saying. The difference in a second Trump term, Banks says now, “is he’s going to have the backup in Congress that he didn’t have before.”
Trump’s intention to remake America’s relations abroad may be just as consequential. Since its founding, the U.S. has sought to build and sustain alliances based on the shared values of political and economic freedom. Trump takes a much more transactional approach to international relations than his predecessors, expressing disdain for what he views as free-riding friends and appreciation for authoritarian leaders like President Xi Jinping of China, Prime Minister Viktor Orban of Hungary, or former President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil.
That’s one reason America’s traditional allies were horrified when Trump recently said at a campaign rally that Russia could “do whatever the hell they want” to a NATO country he believes doesn’t spend enough on collective defense. That wasn’t idle bluster, Trump tells me. “If you’re not going to pay, then you’re on your own,” he says. Trump has long said the alliance is ripping the U.S. off. Former NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg credited Trump’s first-term threat to pull out of the alliance with spurring other members to add more than $100 billion to their defense budgets.
But an insecure NATO is as likely to accrue to Russia’s benefit as it is to America’s. President Vladimir Putin’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine looks to many in Europe and the U.S. like a test of his broader vision to reconstruct the Soviet empire. Under Biden and a bipartisan Congress, the U.S. has sent more than $100 billion to Ukraine to defend itself. It’s unlikely Trump would extend the same support to Kyiv. After Orban visited Mar-a-Lago in March, he said Trump “wouldn’t give a penny” to Ukraine. “I wouldn’t give unless Europe starts equalizing,” Trump hedges in our interview. “If Europe is not going to pay, why should we pay? They’re much more greatly affected. We have an ocean in between us. They don’t.” (E.U. nations have given more than $100 billion in aid to Ukraine as well.)
Trump has historically been reluctant to criticize or confront Putin. He sided with the Russian autocrat over his own intelligence community when it asserted that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Even now, Trump uses Putin as a foil for his own political purposes. When I asked Trump why he has not called for the release of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich, who has been unjustly held on spurious charges in a Moscow prison for a year, Trump says, “I guess because I have so many other things I’m working on.” Gershkovich should be freed, he adds, but he doubts it will happen before the election. “The reporter should be released and he will be released,” Trump tells me. “I don’t know if he’s going to be released under Biden. I would get him released.”
America’s Asian allies, like its European ones, may be on their own under Trump. Taiwan’s Foreign Minister recently said aid to Ukraine was critical in deterring Xi from invading the island. Communist China’s leaders “have to understand that things like that can’t come easy,” Trump says, but he declines to say whether he would come to Taiwan’s defense.
Trump is less cryptic on current U.S. troop deployments in Asia. If South Korea doesn’t pay more to support U.S. troops there to deter Kim Jong Un’s increasingly belligerent regime to the north, Trump suggests the U.S. could withdraw its forces. “We have 40,000 troops that are in a precarious position,” he tells TIME. (The number is actually 28,500.) “Which doesn’t make any sense. Why would we defend somebody? And we’re talking about a very wealthy country.”
Transactional isolationism may be the main strain of Trump’s foreign policy, but there are limits. Trump says he would join Israel’s side in a confrontation with Iran. “If they attack Israel, yes, we would be there,” he tells me. He says he has come around to the now widespread belief in Israel that a Palestinian state existing side by side in peace is increasingly unlikely. “There was a time when I thought two-state could work,” he says. “Now I think two-state is going to be very, very tough.”
Yet even his support for Israel is not absolute. He’s criticized Israel’s handling of its war against Hamas, which has killed more than 30,000 Palestinians in Gaza, and has called for the nation to “get it over with.” When I ask whether he would consider withholding U.S. military aid to Israel to push it toward winding down the war, he doesn’t say yes, but he doesn’t rule it out, either. He is sharply critical of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, once a close ally. “I had a bad experience with Bibi,” Trump says. In his telling, a January 2020 U.S. operation to assassinate a top Iranian general was supposed to be a joint attack until Netanyahu backed out at the last moment. “That was something I never forgot,” he says. He blames Netanyahu for failing to prevent the Oct. 7 attack, when Hamas militants infiltrated southern Israel and killed nearly 1,200 people amid acts of brutality including burning entire families alive and raping women and girls. “It happened on his watch,” Trump says.
On the second day of Trump’s New York trial on April 17, I stand behind the packed counter of the Sanaa Convenience Store on 139th Street and Broadway, waiting for Trump to drop in for a postcourt campaign stop. He chose the bodega for its history. In 2022, one of the store’s clerks fatally stabbed a customer who attacked him. Bragg, the Manhattan DA, charged the clerk with second-degree murder. (The charges were later dropped amid public outrage over video footage that appeared to show the clerk acting in self-defense.) A baseball bat behind the counter alludes to lingering security concerns. When Trump arrives, he asks the store’s co-owner, Maad Ahmed, a Yemeni immigrant, about safety. “You should be allowed to have a gun,” Trump tells Ahmed. “If you had a gun, you’d never get robbed.”
On the campaign trail, Trump uses crime as a cudgel, painting urban America as a savage hell-scape even though violent crime has declined in recent years, with homicides sinking 6% in 2022 and 13% in 2023, according to the FBI. When I point this out, Trump tells me he thinks the data, which is collected by state and local police departments, is rigged. “It’s a lie,” he says. He has pledged to send the National Guard into cities struggling with crime in a second term—possibly without the request of governors—and plans to approve Justice Department grants only to cities that adopt his preferred policing methods like stop-and-frisk.
To critics, Trump’s preoccupation with crime is a racial dog whistle. In polls, large numbers of his supporters have expressed the view that antiwhite racism now represents a greater problem in the U.S. than the systemic racism that has long afflicted Black Americans. When I ask if he agrees, Trump does not dispute this position. “There is a definite antiwhite feeling in the country,” he tells TIME, “and that can’t be allowed either.” In a second term, advisers say, a Trump Administration would rescind Biden’s Executive Orders designed to boost diversity and racial equity.
Trump’s ability to campaign for the White House in the midst of an unprecedented criminal trial is the product of a more professional campaign operation that has avoided the infighting that plagued past versions. “He has a very disciplined team around him,” says Representative Elise Stefanik of New York. “That is an indicator of how disciplined and focused a second term will be.” That control now extends to the party writ large. In 2016, the GOP establishment, having failed to derail Trump’s campaign, surrounded him with staff who sought to temper him. Today the party’s permanent class have either devoted themselves to the gospel of MAGA or given up. Trump has cleaned house at the Republican National Committee, installing handpicked leaders—including his daughter-in-law—who have reportedly imposed loyalty tests on prospective job applicants, asking whether they believe the false assertion that the 2020 election was stolen. (The RNC has denied there is a litmus test.) Trump tells me he would have trouble hiring anyone who admits Biden won: “I wouldn’t feel good about it.”
Policy groups are creating a government-in-waiting full of true believers. The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 has drawn up plans for legislation and Executive Orders as it trains prospective personnel for a second Trump term. The Center for Renewing America, led by Russell Vought, Trump’s former director of the Office of Management and Budget, is dedicated to disempowering the so-called administrative state, the collection of bureaucrats with the power to control everything from drug-safety determinations to the contents of school lunches. The America First Policy Institute is a research haven of pro-Trump right-wing populists. America First Legal, led by Trump’s immigration adviser Stephen Miller, is mounting court battles against the Biden Administration.
The goal of these groups is to put Trump’s vision into action on day one. “The President never had a policy process that was designed to give him what he actually wanted and campaigned on,” says Vought. “[We are] sorting through the legal authorities, the mechanics, and providing the momentum for a future Administration.” That includes a litany of boundary-pushing right-wing policies, including slashing Department of Justice funding and cutting climate and environmental regulations.
Trump’s campaign says he would be the final decision-maker on which policies suggested by these organizations would get implemented. But at the least, these advisers could form the front lines of a planned march against what Trump dubs the Deep State, marrying bureaucratic savvy to their leader’s anti-bureaucratic zeal. One weapon in Trump’s second-term “War on Washington” is a wonky one: restoring the power of impoundment, which allowed Presidents to withhold congressionally appropriated funds. Impoundment was a favorite maneuver of Nixon, who used his authority to freeze funding for subsidized housing and the Environmental Protection Agency. Trump and his allies plan to challenge a 1974 law that prohibits use of the measure, according to campaign policy advisers.
Another inside move is the enforcement of Schedule F, which allows the President to fire nonpolitical government officials and which Trump says he would embrace. “You have some people that are protected that shouldn’t be protected,” he says. A senior U.S. judge offers an example of how consequential such a move could be. Suppose there’s another pandemic, and President Trump wants to push the use of an untested drug, much as he did with hydroxychloroquine during COVID-19. Under Schedule F, if the drug’s medical reviewer at the Food and Drug Administration refuses to sign off on its use, Trump could fire them, and anyone else who doesn’t approve it. The Trump team says the President needs the power to hold bureaucrats accountable to voters. “The mere mention of Schedule F,” says Vought, “ensures that the bureaucracy moves in your direction.”
It can be hard at times to discern Trump’s true intentions. In his interviews with TIME, he often sidestepped questions or answered them in contradictory ways. There’s no telling how his ego and self-destructive behavior might hinder his objectives. And for all his norm-breaking, there are lines he says he won’t cross. When asked if he would comply with all orders upheld by the Supreme Court, Trump says he would.
But his policy preoccupations are clear and consistent. If Trump is able to carry out a fraction of his goals, the impact could prove as transformative as any presidency in more than a century. “He’s in full war mode,” says his former adviser and occasional confidant Stephen Bannon. Trump’s sense of the state of the country is “quite apocalyptic,” Bannon says. “That’s where Trump’s heart is. That’s where his obsession is.”
These obsessions could once again push the nation to the brink of crisis. Trump does not dismiss the possibility of political violence around the election. “If we don’t win, you know, it depends,” he tells TIME. “It always depends on the fairness of the election.” When I ask what he meant when he baselessly claimed on Truth Social that a stolen election “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump responded by denying he had said it. He then complained about the “Biden-inspired” court case he faces in New York and suggested that the “fascists” in America’s government were its greatest threat. “I think the enemy from within, in many cases, is much more dangerous for our country than the outside enemies of China, Russia, and various others,” he tells me.
Toward the end of our conversation at Mar-a-Lago, I ask Trump to explain another troubling comment he made: that he wants to be dictator for a day. It came during a Fox News town hall with Sean Hannity, who gave Trump an opportunity to allay concerns that he would abuse power in office or seek retribution against political opponents. Trump said he would not be a dictator—“except for day one,” he added. “I want to close the border, and I want to drill, drill, drill.”
Trump says that the remark “was said in fun, in jest, sarcastically.” He compares it to an infamous moment from the 2016 campaign, when he encouraged the Russians to hack and leak Hillary Clinton’s emails. In Trump’s mind, the media sensationalized those remarks too. But the Russians weren’t joking: among many other efforts to influence the core exercise of American democracy that year, they hacked the Democratic National Committee’s servers and disseminated its emails through WikiLeaks.
Whether or not he was kidding about bringing a tyrannical end to our 248-year experiment in democracy, I ask him, Don’t you see why many Americans see such talk of dictatorship as contrary to our most cherished principles? Trump says no. Quite the opposite, he insists. “I think a lot of people like it.” —With reporting by Leslie Dickstein, Simmone Shah, and Julia Zorthian

LIVE 👏 YOUR 👏 TRUTH 👏 The world needed to hear me talk about Max's weak pull-out game in Detective AU
–
11. Do either try to hide their emotions if upset? Can the other still tell?
Faith, in general, has a tendency to bottle everything up and push herself to put others first. She's not good at asking for help or letting herself be vulnerable in front of others. Not to mention the guilt she feels over being a nuisance to the people she cares about. She has an image she must maintain, she has to be The Captain, and The Captain needs to be able to hold it together.
Once they're getting closer, especially after her Death Wish Arc, Max is able to pick up on when she's starting to do worse. In the way she talks, the way she withdraws herself more than usual, the ways she isn't taking care of herself. He knows she doesn't always like to talk, but he will do things to ensure she knows she isn't alone in ways that won't completely overwhelm her.
Post-Scylla Max takes being open and honest with her much more seriously. Talking isn't as difficult for him, but when it's with her he begins finding enough comfort to let himself be seen, understood, loved, and taken care of proper.
.
12. Do they have many heated arguments? How do they smooth things over?
Honestly? Not really. Most of the time they're rather in tune with each other much more than they ever expected. Their personalities and general attitudes make it rather easy for them to bounce off of each other. He's fascinated with her and respects her, and she values his insight and perspectives greatly.
The first time he ever raised his voice at her in frustration was when she gave him the journal and the walls came crumbling down for the first time. She did not react kindly to it and grabbed him by the collar and told him to never fucking talk to her like that ever again. And he didn't.
The second time he ever raised his voice was after he carried her back to the ship at the end of her Death Wish Arc. After Ellie looked her over and patched her up, Max remained by her bedside. When Faith woke up, she was very avoidant about what happened and tried to play it off nonchalantly, but it struck a nerve with Max. Before he could think about it he was being very stern, and Faith had to face the consequences head on how serious the entire ordeal was and how much it affected him and the crew. It was the first time she broke down and was truly vulnerable in front of Max. She didn't tell him everything, not yet, but she confided in him enough to change the course of their relationship forever.
The last time they got into a real argument was during their kerfuffle in Fallbrook. I think we all know what happens here, and I've talked enough about her making her heart known just for him to break it and push her away out of guilt, fear, and shame. Sparking the entire ordeal of when she runs away to Devil's Peak Station and finds unplanned solace in Hiram. The smoothing over doesn't necessarily happen until their Reciprocation and Reconciliation night on Scylla. But again.. I can gush about all that another day because y'all already know I never shut the hell up about their Fallbrook and Scylla Arcs.
.
22. What reminds each of their partner?
Books, tossball, OSI trinkets, Free Range Fixer, mock apples, whiskey, pens and parchment, her locket, the color blue, those are of some of the things that remind Faith of Max.
Books, tools, trinkets, schematics, sweets, rum, the stars in the void, sprats, fairy lights, hot tea, the color red, accessories, she's a bit more mysterious, but Max picks up quick on the kinds of things she likes and commits those details to memory whether he means to or not.
.
29. Who is more likely to jump in an elevator? Who freaks out?
Neither of them honestly. They're both the ones freaking out.
Despite how many elevators Faith has to use in Halcyon, she really doesn't like them all that much. She can get motion sick rather easily and elevators make her feel queasy and nervous, but it's not something she's going to make known.
I think Max would get pissed if someone was jumping in the elevator.

Music asks!!!! 5, 7, 12, 17, 30
5: A song that needs to be played LOUD The Sky is a Neighbourhood by The Foo Fighters. I listened to at a concert and it blew me away. Maybe it was the surroundings that super amplified it but it just doesn't sound as good when I listen to it off Spotify
7: A song to drive to How Bad Can I Be? from The Lorax. This is how this decision went: "Oh man, let me look at my driving playlist. Hmmm these songs are nice to listen to but none are my driving songs- wait, shit, it's this one, i sing along to this one I haven't even watched the movie." It's an earworm im sorry
12: A song from your preteen years Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. I used to sing it a lot, have a million AMVs play in my head to this song, AND!!! I got to see them play live this year and oh my god. The Energy is still there, the entire stadium sung along for this one, we stood up and sang, and waved the lights of our phones. We'll carry on indeed.
17: A song that would sing a duet with on karaoke Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond. It's not a duet PER SAY but people sing along with you when this pops up. Im singing it now and I bet it will pop into ur head and you'll sing together, and there we have made a wonderful duet <3
30: A song that reminds you of yourself Introspection? In My Music Memes? It's more likely than you think. It has to be Lets Dance to Joy Division by The Wombats. Reminds me to be chill and to have fun, and it's also a fun song and I think I'm a fun person. I hope I am anyways!!!!

July 12th, 2024 星期五 - Taipei101 + 饒河街觀光夜市
We met around 10:30 am, then took the brown and red lines on the subway to Taipei 101, where we walked through a huge high-end mall and got to see Taipei from its highest point. To get from the info-desk area to the observatory level, we took an insanely fast elevator that went probably around 80 floors or more in less than 40 seconds. Inside the observatory level, there were a surprising amount of floral photo-op set-ups for visitors to take pictures, however I think the backlight from the floor to ceiling windows did not come out well in the pictures.
The view was pretty amazing. You can see the actual city as well as the lush mountainsides which remind me of the countryside of Jamaica. After taking some pictures in different scene in spots and admiring the view, I went to the gift shop to look at the souvenirs. These days, I try to buy souvenirs or merchandise that I’ll actually use, because I feel like it then carries more meaning to me. After browsing for a bit, I settled for a gold metal bookmark that was cut out in the shape of the Taipei 101 building and a postcard/necklace set. I’m not exactly sure what the necklace is but I thought it was pretty lol. Later, I went to the 90th floor to see the view from the sky deck. It was slightly underwhelming because of the wall/anti-jump gate but it was crazy being that high up and being outside to see the clouds at eye level. After coming back inside, I got the envelope of my postcard stamped with the free ink stamps. At around 12:30, the tour group met back together and we took the stairs to see the massive damper on the 88th floor. After finishing the tour, i went with some of my group-mates to eat at a banquet style restaurant about five minutes away from Taipei 101.
After eating, we took the red line to Taipei Main Station to try to meet some others in the underground mall but it got complicated and we just ended up going to a different above-ground mall. I bought some stationary from one the shops on the 4th floor. I noticed that in this mall, many stores weren’t completely walled off from others. For example, there was a section selling Hurley stuff and quite literally a couple steps to the right a whole other store. At first I figured it was just a giant department store we had wandered into, but now I think that’s just how the mall was. The mall was also connected to a mass bus terminal, which makes sense since it was across the street from the Taipei MRT main station. When one of the other girls went to the bathroom, I noticed there was an option of both western toilets and squat toilets. After shopping, we found another one of the girls in the program and figured out how to ride the red line to the green line transfer. We got help from this Taiwanese lady who spoke perfect English even though she’s Taiwanese. Her American accent was probably better than mine. When we got to the green line transfer platform, we ran into even more of the girls in our group and planned to visit Raohe Night Market after resting for a bit.
I started doing homework when I got in the hotel before decided to attempt to do my laundry. The washing part went fine and I took a nap in the meantime. I woke up to transfer the clothes to the dryer and then went back to sleep. The dryer did not dry much. After trying to figure it out for a while, my roommate came to help but she didn’t have any luck either. We opted to just put it to cold dry in the washer and figure it out later. While it ran, I went to get dressed. I wore pants all day and drowned myself in mosquito spray before because the day before, I got bit up by mosquitos. Before heading out to the night market, I brought my clothes back to the hotel room to finish drying. We took the green line of the MRT to the last stop and spent a few hours walking through the night market. I bought Guava, a brown sugar donut, and some hello kitty playing cards. We headed home closer to 11pm where I showered, FaceTimed by boyfriend, and did more homework.
Academic Reflection
Today’s reading focused on the building of and structural integrity of Taipei 101. It describes the unique damper, structural limits, and safety limits. The reading described how the World Trade Center in New York City went down because of fires, not because of the planes’ impact. It also mentioned that in Hong Kong, every 25 floors of a building must have a refugee floor that is empty and designed to resist smoke accumulation. Reading about safety limits in comparison to the World Trade Center after visiting Taipei 101 made me think a lot about when I went to the 9/11 memorial in New York City. I did notice that when we went down the stairs to the 88th floor, the rest of the stairs were blocked off. Aside from these stairs and the elevators, I didn’t see any other marked and visible exits. Thinking about safety, perhaps it was not the safest. The readings talks about how typhoons and earthquakes are serious concerns in Asia, which makes me think about the lack of clearly marked exits.
Something else I found interesting was the damper on the 88th floor of Taipei 101. The reading describes how the swinging of the internal damper would dissipate wind energy and prevent the building itself from swaying too much and possibly falling over. Our tour guide said that the damper was built to withstand a 10.0 magnitude earthquake. Recently in Taiwan, there were 6.0 and 6.2 magnitude earthquakes on April 23rd, 2024. This made me think about how perhaps being in a building like Taipei 101 would be good as an earthquake shelter. When walking down the street in Zhongshan, I noticed that there were signs showing certain areas to be aerial attack shelters. I have yet to see any signs pointing to earthquake shelters though.

bc I’m in the Easter service at church and I’ll have to hear it twice I’ve got time to write up a thing on something i’ve come to realize. The Bible is very female-empowering??? Like??? The needless sexism in some churches come from tradition and internalized prejudice.
In the Bible there is a female deacon (a very important role in the church, kind of like a pastor) who preaches and leads a church.
Taken from acts29.com,
Paul writes at the end of Romans, “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a servant of the church at Cenchreae . . .” (Rom. 16:1–2). Phoebe is called a servant, a diakonos, which is the same Greek word used for deacon in 1 Timothy 3 and Philippians 1:1.
Christ welcomed women (Mary of Magdalene is the most significant), and during the Crucifixion, ALL the 12 disciples BAILED, too afraid/guilty to show up. But guess who stood at the feet of the cross while he died??? THE WOMEN? (Mary (the mom), her sister, another Mary who was a follower, Mary of Magdalene.)
John 19:25-27 NIV
Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here is your son,” and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”
And at the empty tomb? A group of women went to lay some kind of offering at the entrance and Mary of Magdalene saw the stone moved (WHICH FOR CONTEXT WAS MOST LIKELY SEVERAL TONS AND THIS WAS LIKE 30~ AD) and his body gone (she assumed grave robbing).
John 20:11-15 NIV
Now Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
They asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?”
“They have taken my Lord away,” she said, “and I don’t know where they have put him.” At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?”
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him.”
Jesus said to her, “Mary.”
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”).
Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.”
Women have always been portrayed as the more faithful and humble followers in the Bible, and have been shown to have positions in power and influence over a body of Christ? And have been very very highly esteemed in faith?? So that means??? it makes no sense when the church silences and shuns women in the church, besides sexism being the cause? Literally in the Bible it tells us that followers of Christ are made equal, and there is no male, female, old, young, black, white, anything in heaven. Just joy and praise, we are all made one. Like? It just doesn’t make sense, and is one of those things I get angry at people of my own faith for. That’s why so many people hate christans :( some Christians hate them. That’s not Christ’s love? Yeah, some love is tough love in confronting patterns of sin and ungodliness, but it’s not out job to condemn them, just to make them aware and let god choose what happens.
—-
this is also has some great examples :) safe link, quora post.
Also, 1 Tim. 2:21, "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent." is in regards to a church where everyone sucks and the women are very uneducated in the Bible and aren’t even in a position to preach. 1# for reading the Bible, READ WITH HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL CONTEXT, AND LIKE HALF THE BIBLE IS POETRY.
#Women in church#christianity#faith#People use god as an excuse to hurt#It’s stupid and I’m sorry for it :(

Day 26 - Mansilla de las Mulas to Leon
It was another 12 miler and we carried our packs.
I don’t know how Jane did but it was another rubbish night’s sleep for me. My bunk companion was fine and I felt a bit sorry for her with my tossing and turning. The room was very hot and never truly dark as the blinds in the patio door wouldn’t come down and there was a bright orange street light outside. Never mind, we’re Airbnb’ing it tonight, own bedrooms and a quiet area, bliss.
We were up by half 6 and out by 7, we’re getting practiced at this. We knew there was a town about 3 miles up the road and hoped we would find breakfast. As we were leaving Mansilla we went over an old bridge and could see the ancient walls and a pretty river.
The path yet again followed the road but it wasn’t quite as desolate and boring as the last few days. We saw the moon setting too.
We almost missed the turning for the cafe as the path didn’t go through the village. It was an odd, scruffy cafe. I didn’t fancy the look of the croissants so asked for tostada which she griddled. We should have sent them back as they tasted of the oil that was last used on the griddle, even when slathered with jam. The coffee was ok though.
We then stopped at a little place that offered free rest for pilgrims, which had a vending machine. The biscuit thing I got to take the taste of the oil away didn’t really help either as it was pretty foul, so we just carried on.
The Welsh Cymru am Byth graffiti signs are still there, you would have thought their pen would have run out by now.
The path began to get a bit more urban running through scrubland between a motorway and a main road but some of the views were still pretty and rural.
We stopped for a coffee on the outskirts of Leon, then wandered in through the ‘out of town’ area passing a Spanish B&Q.
Then things took a turn for the worse. Jane put her foot in a hole, and took a tumble twisting her ankle badly. After a while she felt OK to continue but was in pain. We went slowly and had our first proper sight of Leon.
It was a straightforward walk in along the streets on the outskirts. We weren’t due to check in until 2 so made our way to the cathedral square. Jane was in quite a bit of discomfort so went to a nearby restaurant that I knew for some lunch. The wife of the man who owns it was an English teacher who was in a school with one of my friends in the cohort I was teaching in Leon with last year.
We enjoyed our burgers and made our way to the Airbnb. It’s very close to the centre but away from all the bars. Leon is a bit like Cardiff on a Saturday night and there were already young people roaming the streets in fancy dress!
We’ve got a two-bed place in an old courtyard with a full sized bath this time, a TV and a washing machine, don’t need much more!
Jane put her feet up properly and a wash on while I had a bath. We found a channel showing the rest of the coronation and watched the Buckingham Palace balcony scenes followed by something that is definitely set in Cornwall but overdubbed in Spanish.
At 5:30 I popped out to the shops to get Jane some food to eat and our breakfast for tomorrow.
I left Jane with her foot up then went up to the town to a place I knew which is like Boots as my soap bar is getting a bit thin now. After an abortive first attempt a very lovely girl helped me out. It was really strange being back and it felt odd without the familiar faces of those I was with a year ago.
There’s a rooftop bar we used to go to so I popped by but there was a sign on the door that it was full. I think you can still book a meal so I’ll see how Jane is feeling in the morning and maybe we can go for lunch.
The Camino family had been messaging so met Scott, a new friend of his Catherine from Belgium, Alex and Nicole outside the cathedral at 7. I then led them through the busy narrow streets to the Plaza Mayor which was noisy and chaotic. We sat for a drink and a chat being joined later by Ernest and Janet. I had a good chat with Ernest as he worked in IT for Bank of America.
We were very good and only had the one drink before I made my way back to the Airbnb for an early night.

I managed an AppleJuice bc i thought it was cute 😌 I thought about trying the leo/vil too bc i do think they're a very fun ship hehe, but I've not been hit by the inspiration for them just yet so I'm just keepin that in the back of my brain for now in case i suddenly think of something lol.
BUT FOR NOW. APPLEJUICE LADS!!! I kind of strayed a little from the initial intent of the prompt but... close enough!!!! [if anyone's curious or wants to send a suggestion, it was from this prompt list lol] HOPE YOU SEE THIS!!!!
[AO3 link]
Prompt: Sneaking away to a hidden corner to share a secretive kiss.
“Take a five minute break,” Vil Schoenheit called from the front of the room. “I want you all back in your places on time ,” he said, narrowing his eyes as he spoke. “I’m starting my timer, and if you’re not ready by the time the music starts, you’re doing laps outside! Is that clear?”
“Yes, sir!” The group called back in ranging levels of enthusiasm.
“Ughhh, I’m dying!” Ace complained as he flopped down on the floor.
“Vil sure is… a strict coach…” Deuce said between breaths.
Epel solemnly nodded as he came to sit beside them. “I didn’t think he could get stricter than he already is daily in Pomefiore, but… training camp has definitely proved me wrong.”
“God, I dunno how you two are still alive when you gotta do those extra ballet lessons on top of everything else,” Ace said, sitting up to give Deuce a nudge with his elbow. “Why’d you volunteer for extra exhausting work, anyway? Don’t you have enough trouble just trying to keep to the basic routine?” He asked with a smarmy grin.
Deuce scowled back at Ace. “Shut up! I’m taking the opportunity to work harder and improve myself!”
“Yeah, yeah. Good luck with makin’ things harder for yourself.”
Deuce looked like he was going to argue more, but was interrupted by the sound of his stomach gurgling. Ace laughed at him, earning him another glare from Deuce.
Epel also couldn’t help but laugh quietly. “Deuce, I still have some apple chips in my room, if you want some?”
Deuce’s scowling face immediately softened as he turned towards Epel. “Oh, uh, are you sure? I don’t wanna take your food…”
“It’s alright! I have plenty to share,” Epel gave Deuce an earnest smile as he stood. “I have a lot of extra juice still, too, if you want me to grab you some?”
Deuce got to his feet as well. “No, that’s okay; you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. I’ll come with you!”
“Bring me back some juice!” Ace said as he gave Deuce’s leg a gentle kick.
“Get it yourself, Ace!” Deuce responded as he quickly hurried towards the stairs.
“Nooo, but I’m tiiiiired!” Ace complained from where he remained on the floor.
Epel laughed as he ran after Deuce up the stairs and into his room. He picked up a nearby box, and brought it over to sit on the bed as he opened it up. “Y'know… I’m really glad you chose to do the ballet lessons, Deuce.” He said softly as he handed Deuce a bottle of juice and some apple chips.
“Really?” Deuce accepted the apple snacks and sat beside Epel.
Epel nodded. “It’s a lot more bearable with you by my side,” he said with a smile, and then busied himself with opening his bag of apple chips.
“Oh, uh…” Deuce also pretended to look busy as he fiddled with the cap of his juice. “Th-thanks… I think it’s more fun doing things with you, too…” he punctuated that statement by taking a very long and slow swig of his drink.
Epel smiled again, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink as he slowly looked up at Deuce… And then quickly leaned in to press a kiss to Deuce’s cheek.
Deuce promptly began choking on his juice as his eyes widened in surprise. “BFH- WH- HUHGHK?!” he exclaimed ever so eloquently.
Epel laughed softly and pat Deuce on the back. “Hehe, sorry. Are you alright?”
Deuce sputtered and coughed for a few more seconds before nodding. “Urk- uh, y-yeah, sorry. Just, uhh, a little caught off guard?”
Whatever either of them might’ve said next would be cut short as Vil’s voice called out from downstairs. “PLACES IN 15 SECONDS!”
“Oh! Guess we’d better go,” Epel said as he quickly got up and hurried towards the door.
“Wh-!? Epel! Wait!” Deuce said, getting up to chase after him. “What did- We just- Hang on a second!”
Epel just laughed and ran down the stairs. “Hehe, sorry! Time for practice, Deuce!” He grinned as he rushed to get into position before Deuce could question him further, and before Ace could complain that neither he nor Deuce brought him a bottle back in time.
The nerve, really.
Still, as Vil began to count them in, Epel stole a glance over at Deuce, who looked back at him, face still a bit flushed.
They shared a smile, and practice resumed once more.
