theatrical rights worldwide's system is very confusing. As a university club, we do not have the budget to be able to apply for a licence for a show before we can get an estimate of the cost of the licence.

theatrical rights worldwide doesn't have a way (or if it does, it's impossible for any of our club members to find) to get an estimate for the shows that we are interested in doing before going through the license application. The reason this is confusing is because the other international licensing companies have no problem doing this, so I wonder why TRW can't do this.

honestly…. a lot of people don’t remember this but dreams has gone viral TWICE (once in 2018 when it was added to a bunch of videos, and then the tiktok one in 2020) and if you got into the whole band through that - great! but for casual fans it turned a band that if you asked someone randomly to name an fm song they’d come up with a variety of answers (go your own way, the chain, landslide, little lies, don’t stop, you make loving fun) into “that dreams band”. and i’m so tired 🥲

I think the worst part about the recent bot problems is my follower count increased by over 300 this week (it's wednesday) and I cannot keep up with blocking bots because most of the icons are default and they're untitled:

Like??? Half of these are bots and half of them are debatable or actual people. Blocking and reporting 70 bots a day is already a chore, but having to filter through this to make sure I'm not blocking real people? I think at this rate, I am just gonna let the bots stay.

I think one big reason why we don't consider the stars as important as before (not even pop-astrology anymore cares about the stars or the sky on itself, just the signs deprived of context) is because of light pollution.

For most of human history the sky looked between 1-3, 4 at most. And then all of a sudden with electrification it was gone (I'm lucky if I get 6 in my small city). The first time I saw the Milky Way fully as a kid was a spiritual experience, I was almost scared on how BRIGHT it was, it felt like someone was looking back at me. You don't get that at all with modern light pollution.

When most people talk about stargazing nowadays they think about watching about a couple of bright dots. The stars are really, really not like that. The unpolluted night sky is a festival of fireworks. There is nothing like it.

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT????
