My gift for Kate for the @sheithxmas 2024 exchange!!:-D

I'm gonna put all of my yapping + bonus stuff under the cut, because it's a lot lol. (there's concept art, mini comic, and a drabble, if you wanna skip the yap)

Firstly, I really need to give a huge special thank you to my bff, who has helped me with decisions and just cheering my on throughout this whole project, ily my liege!! <3 And to pejaposarambi who offered his help near the end, when I was losing my mind and gave me SUCH good tips to help me complete this!! Seriously, thank you both so much omfg!!TTATT

So, I tried my best to incorporate a few of the asked prompts: fairytale, fantasy, hurt/comfort or angst with a happy ending (more implied/vague, in this case), soulmates, a bit of 'they're a fantastical beast that can hurt the other' vibe, and something sweet where they're kinda comforting each other? Idk, but I tried aha.

For the fairytale and fantasy, I gave them original designs to fit the theme of both. The whole angst/hurt is more implied, but I tried to convey a bit of a story here; where Keith's sword is wrapped in broken chains, after helping free Shiro, and they're comforting each other.

The soulmates is implied from the stars. Their zodiac constellations (Scorpio & Pisces), are mapped in the sky together, along with their respective planets (Mars, Jupiter, Neptune). I wasn't sure how to place soulmates persay, but I think its romantic and conveys it pretty well. And the water is also representative to their signs too, aha!

The fantastical beast part is me really pushing it lol. But often times, dragons and unicorns are seen as like, enemies or hurt one another in a lot of stories. So I was going for a bit of that here. + their designs kinda resemble prickly thorn vs softie? Yea, I know, ya gotta squint for this part of the theme but I tried.xDD /also has a nice dark vs light theme hehe.

Some quick lore 'cause why not: when Keith was younger, he was going to die (idk, abandonment? defeat during battle? Saving Shiro? idk), but Shiro saved his life, using his tears. Keith was deeply touched, as it was the first time he experienced kindness? Idk. But when Shiro had to eventually leave, he swore to himself he'd repay him one day. Fast forward, and the king Keith is forced to serve, has captured a rare unicorn, that could give him eternal life using his tears? Or force Shiro to take him to eternity/paradise? Idk. Keith fought through hell and back to eventually help free Shiro (breaking the chain), and the two managed to escape, fleeing to a peaceful place where they can be together. Yea, there's a lot of "idk's" and big holes there, but I've yapped TOO MUCH.TT.TT

(Also, can I just say PLEASE. If this had an OST, I'd say the Galaxy Express 999 OST would be it for me. But for this illustration in particular, this song is doing it for me.)

So uhhh, this was a *journey*. I think I've been working on this for over 2 months now? A lot of thought went into it. I only do this level of planning when it's a huge project, and I typically don't share my thumbnails and concepts; because they're garbage and only meant for me. But I figured it could be fun for others to see lol.

For the design, I had a good idea of the theme at least! I wanted to have Keith's design to really resemble a dragon, while also using some elements from his BOM outfit. I leaned into the purple because I like purple, but wondering if I should have gone red. Hmmm. I tried to make him look as intimidating and prickly as I could; almost like if you were to touch him, you'd get pricked like a thorn.:-3

For Shiro, I went with looser clothes; kinda inspired by ancient Greek fashion and gods. I rushed his more, and ended up not having the time + energy to put in all the details I wanted for him.:-( I kept his clothes and hair all white/silver, to make him look like he came from the stars. His jewellery is gold + blue to relate to his zodia planets aha. I was gonna have him have longer bangs, but decided against it as I inked.

Anyways, I wanted the pose to be the same as “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimt. But uhh, once I got all the designs done, and actually started sketching things out; I just couldn't get it to work. I am still disappointed in myself for that, but I had to move on and find ways to make things work. I guess that's part of the process. How humbling.=_=

I don't have too many progress shots, because I suck with that; but here's a few lol.

And then a bonus comic, because I couldn't stop thinking this throughout this entire project.xD Where the real angst lies.

I also wrote a teeny, tiny drabble. It's kinda trash and superrr corny, sorry;;; I wrote it in like, an hour or something with very little editing. But I wanted to I guess explain a bit of the story, in this particular scene specifically. Idk. Sorry to those who can actually write it's terrible;;;

So that's the end! I really tried my best to cram as many prompts into one; I know I changed the designs a lot, but I hope they still look recognizable. I still feel disappointed with myself, because it didn't come out exactlyyy how I envisioned. There were so many bumps along the way, I wish I could have done better. Still, there were fun moments (when it wouldn't slow down my PC lol). I tried out so many techniques, both old and new; it was quite the experience! I'm especially proud with some of the effects and texturing. And I hand-drew soooo many elements. Like, I could have used a pre-made grass brush for ex. But nope! Drew each blade of grass like a loser.=_= (but was worth it; was able to preserve the *crunch*)

And yea, don't expect this level of detail from me often. This is a once every few years kinda piece lol. Usually my stuff is pretty wonky and rushed. But I was happy to work on such a big project after so many years!!

Likes surprise surprise, guns. Also kids, thinks they’re sweet. Huge sweet tooth. Debating making him have an unrequited love for sir

There’s a couple different reasons why I’ve been struggling with the last chapter, including that contrary to my expectations February and March turned out to be busy and nerve-wrecking irl.

[fair warning, the next three paragraphs are very personal and kinda negative, feel free to skip]

I’m also aware of how setting this in YOHE and making it a/b/o makes it a very niche fic, neither of them are particularly popular in this fandom. I didn’t really care about that when I started writing it (around late October/early November 2021), it’s my self-indulgence project. When I decided to post it early, it was because I felt like I was losing steam on it and needed some encouragement, but I was also okay leaving it on chapter 4 for a bit. That’s the story I wanted to tell, ch1-4, everything else is loose ends plot wrap-up.

And I’m very grateful to everyone who commented, or reached out, or left kudos! But I’ve also realized that subconsciously I was holding some expectations, and in that this is how the war is won didn’t really perform as well as, say, a Weilan-centric canon divergence might.

This is no one’s fault! I recognize that posting it in Jan-Feb was a stupid idea in hindsight, since irl was in such flux that the stress of that made me flee to fandom for validation more than usual, which forced this fic to shoulder more than it should. And I realized I was feeling bad about it as I was forcing myself to write chapter 5 and kept writing myself into corners and hating it, so I dropped it for a while in favour of smaller, quick fics that could hopefully fill the function I needed at the time.

[okay, oversharing of personal negativity part over with :’)]

Now, there are three major issues I kept getting stuck on writing chapter 5:

1) Ye Zun is a brat

He kept fighting me all February, and I ended up putting all my will and energy to put up with him in No Man Left Behind, since that had a deadline -- I wrote it for the Ye Zun Week fandom event. Afterwards, I was kinda wrung out on his character, so I focussed on the other scene first.

2) a worldbuilding faux pas that my beta thankfully pointed out and led to me rewriting several chunks. I really like how it made the internal logic flow better, too!

3) the goddamn politics

I love politics in fics. I do. They’re so much fun, it’s just like, a great big web of character dynamics. The same reason I love poly fics. But I had to figure out convincing reactions from several parties for this one and how to convince them of the action I wanted them to take without like. Creating a new rebellion or big split because I’m not dealing with that x’D it needed to make sense and it wasn’t, it felt very ‘because I’m the author and say so’.

I kept running into this wall at several different points, and it didn’t help that I had written a couple snippets ahead that I adore and want to keep, but that I needed to rearrange over and over and just. Stopped feeling like I could work in.

The last of that hurdle I actually figured out how to get around (by rewriting another chunk RIP me) last week, and I put the final edits on the scene tonight! Which leaves the first half of the chapter at 4k (mind, average chapter length has been 5-5.5k so far). I’m very hopeful to wrap up Ye Zun’s part soon, too, maybe even post this month? *fingers crossed*

This ended up being longer than I intended to write and also has some yucky themes in it so I'm putting it under a cut, but

(edit) ALSO, I can see how that post may be seen as a “this one sparks joy because its all dudes” and “this one does not spark joy because its women” but thats absolutely not what its about- I hope no one takes it to mean that. It’s that comic spinoff #1 is really rich in story and has returning characters we are all excited to see and #2 is a garbage porn fest lmao

SO ok- two spinoff comics were announced and have been highly anticipated, one of which stars two characters who would NEVER be associated with each other and the entire fanbase was beside itself with excitement for what we could only imagine was gonna be the wackiest shit ever, because both of them are dumbasses- one is a teen with a heart of gold and the other is a morally questionable (but sometimes ok) cOWBOY?? who used to be one of the bad guys- but like one of the ones who you could always picture switching sides and reluctantly joining up with the good guys (and whose stand is just literally a fucking gun LMAO). So far the first chapter is absolutely AMAZING and is going into the backstories of a bunch of the supporting villain characters from part 3 and exploring their mental states after their leader was defeated and the ptsd they have from how they were extorted and controlled by him. And we are all super hyped to see these characters again and to get more content of them and explorations of their past. The art style is really solid and obviously took a lot of care, and for the most part - aside from Mariah who is known to be a female character that enjoys showing off her body, the women are drawn pretty respectfully. It might be weird to mention this out of nowhere but like- it matters when you get into the OTHER manga that came out this month... ugh I have not READ the other one but from the little bit I read about it, its a one shot about an OC artist that uses Jolyne (A PRISONER IN A PRISON?) as inspiration for her fuckin PORN art? idk man- it seems hella sus, and apparently its trashy as all get out- you can kinda tell by how they draw Jolyne on the main cover that its gonna be super creepy... the main character has a stand that controls the mood of people she draws and she gets obsessed with Jolyne and yeah you can see where this is going.... some creepy stalkery rapey shit ensues. Its literally just horrible fanmade porn that somehow got published as a real spinoff and we (the jojo fans i care to associate myself with at least LMAO) are all over here getting nauseous about what a mess it is. I haven't read it because the synopsis I saw sounded super offputting and the art style makes Jolyne look like shes 12... and just NO, no, a million times no. I made the mistake of looking into it a bit more so I would be able to answer this ask (don't feel bad, I just didn't want to trash talk something I didn't know much about) and also IM SO MAD that they had the NERVE to use Lady Gaga's song Bad Romance as the namesake for the creepy artist stand's name. What a waste bruh...

Anyway yeah- like not to say you cant read it and like- idk get your grim jollies in private but it sounds super yikes and its a mess. Another case of like, yeah I know its fiction and just for fun but hoo boy it just doesn't seem right.

The Riott Squad win the Women’s Tag Team Champions

Unify the men’s Tag Team Championships

Unveil a new Title and give us WWE’s very first Television Championship. It should be styled similar to the NWA and WCW’s TV belts, but on the sideplates it should include USA and Fox on the plates. Shelton Benjamin or Ricochet should be the TV Championship

Big E reigns supreme as Intercontinental Champion and finally gets to face Roman for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 38

Rhea Ripley gets called up and goes to Smackdown

Mercedes Martinez dethrones Io Shirai and becomes NXT Women’s Champion

Queen Of The Ring. The amount of female talent available on Raw, SmackDown, NXT and NXT UK is quite something. It's clear that this is the richest women's division in WWE history. They really should do something with all those workers. The 'Mae Young Classic' tourneys have been fine, but people would trip over themselves to see a fully-fledged 'Queen Of The Ring' epic staged across multiple nights. If booked correctly, this tournament could help establish a new contender for top titles. If she isn't Champion by then(though she should be) the perfect person to become Queen Of The Ring would be Bianca Belair! Bianca Belair would have unparalleled credibility for her 'StrongEST, FastEST, ToughEST' mantra if she whipped a bevy of skilled workers to become the first 'Queen'. WWE could also get creative by linking the event in with Charlotte Flair's nickname and spinning off into a feud between her and the winner afterwards.

Form Full-Time Female Tag-Teams and keep them around. The Women’s Tag Team DIvision is a mess. Keep creating makeshift Tag Teams and breaking up established tag teams and your tag team division is dead. The current champs and their predecessors haven't even been "proper" full-time duos - Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler were shoved together awkwardly in the summer, and they've since been replaced by the unlikely Asuka and Charlotte Flair combo. This cannot be allowed to continue. It's damning that WWE don't have more fully-formed pairings ready to go. The Riott Squad are perhaps the only actual twosome who are presented as a tight-knit collective weekly. Other than that, who is there? Considering the belts have been around for a few years now, that's unacceptable. The IIconics split, so did Sasha Banks and Bayley, and the scene is littered by 'odd couple' tandems like Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans and Peyton Royce, and Billie Kay teaming with the likes of Natalya or Tamina when it suits.

Ensure NXT is treated like a proper third brand rather than a quasi-development league for Raw and SmackDown. NXT has been on USA Network for over a year now, but it's still very much behind both Raw and SmackDown as a priority. Need proof? Look at the way Keith Lee was handled when he was "called up" after SummerSlam 2020. The former NXT Champ had to start all over again, and he's had several teething problems on Monday nights. It'd be nice to see WWE move away from positioning NXT as a 'feeder' for the other two shows. Changing someone's gimmick when they leave makes the brand look less-than, and there's simply no need for that anymore; NXT should be an equal to Raw and SmackDown, not a development league. Sadly, it still comes across as that. Lee's stop/start plight and the (mis)fortunes of others like Aleister Black and Ricochet should be a lesson to WWE. Some workers are better off rocking the black and yellow, not the red or blue.

MJF destroys the inner circle from within and when Jericho realizes what just happened, that’s when MJF and Wardlow destroys Jericho

AEW’s Four Horsemen is formed. MJF, Shawn Spears and FTR with Tully and Arn managing as the JJ DIllon mouthpieces

Darby Allin and MJF feud for the title

The Women’s Division is improved. The girls get more time to shine on Dynamite. Your champion actually appears(shocking, I know) and build feuds and stories for your women’s division. There’s still some time to do what’s right for your women’s division, but the only thing that remains to be seen, does the powers that be of AEW even care?

Get a new title design for the Women’s Championship. It looks like a toy for a child. It’s plastic, not gold. It should be as big and beautifully designed as the men’s titles. It should be as big as the NWA’s title or even the WWE’s title. The title is symbolic as to how AEW treats it’s own women’s division and that needs to change with a fresh new design.

Sign Thunder Rosa. It may not fix everything with the women’s division, but it gives you your needed star power. Tony Khan should be begging on his hands and knees to sign Thunder Rosa in 2021 after her time with the NWA is up, his women’s division is getting their asses kicked by what his EVP refers to as a “developmental brand”

If you can’t sign Thunder Rosa. My solution is Push Anna Jay and Britt Baker as the top face and heel of the women’s division and either of them dethrone Shida.

Changes

WWE

Leave whatever that monstrosity of a creative team they have for RAW is. Let the Wrestlers dictate what they want their characters to be. Ditch the scripted promos. Let promos feel organic and real. Let the wrestlers be characters who feel real and genuine. Get rid of a “Creative” that isn't creative and let the wrestlers be creative and let them be free of terrible creative.

Get rid of the Gimmick PPV. WWE has ruined gimmick matches by turning them into themed PPVs. none of these matches are organic or special anymore. The matches themselves are great but are booked to fit a theme of a pay-per-view, when they should be used organically at the height of feuds. no one cares about the name of PPVs, so i don’t understand why WWE does this. the only one that actually works is MITB, because it makes sense as storylines reset after Mania.

Scrap the Brand Warfare/Brand Supremacy. WWE should scrap the tired brand warfare format at Survivor Series and move away from Raw vs. SmackDown completely. Booking around a calendar has become company law in WWE over the past decade or so. Perhaps McMahon always formatted things this way really, but it's more glaring now that gimmick bouts like Elimination Chamber, Hell In A Cell and Money In The Bank have their own pay-per-views. Survivor Series, with it's played out Raw vs. SmackDown vibes, also needs a rethink. "Brand warfare" is boring now, and it has been for several years. Although 2020's event was fun, it's nonetheless true that the month-long build to Survivors feels like a repetitive slog fans are forced to sit through every November. Hopefully, 2021 will change that. It is possible to book traditional elimination bouts without some sort of false show loyalty - WWE did this almost every single year until the first brand split in 2002. Their over-reliance on Raw vs. SmackDown is plain lazy. Survivor Series should be revolved around great rivalries between stables/factions. It’s really not that hard. Or at the very least if there IS a Smackdown vs Raw themed Survivor Series, at least add a damn reward. Give the brand a head start in the Rumble,, give the winners of the match number one contenders for their brand’s respective titles or ANYTHING better than just “brand supremacy lol”

Get rid of the 24/7 title. It has run it’s course. R-Truth is funny, but even he can’t make it work anymore.

Stop. Breaking. Up. Tag Teams. Stop killing your Tag Team Division. For the love of god just stop!

Cut Akira Tozawa’s ninja bullshit. It’s not funny, it’s annoying

Kill Retribution. It’s complete garbage. It has been consistently terrible ever since Retribution began. Mustafa Ali cannot save Retribution, he’s trying but no one can save it.

Stop the 50/50 booking

Stop rewarding Nia Jax, the living botch machine for injuring her fellow wrestlers

Stop pushing Lars Sullivan. Absolutely no one wants him.

They should cut raw to 2 hours because 3 hours is unbearable

If anything, Goldberg's only purpose should be to play victim for a quick Roman Reigns squash. Get through that elusive match then turn Bill into a company ambassador. If there was one person on the roster that could convince me they wrestled in the Diva’s era, it’d be Mickie James.

Man it was cool watching Zelina reverse the powerbomb attempt into a rollup, but Mickie couldn’t be bothered to get her shoulders down for a 2 count before the reversal. Shame.

Brilliant. Would be overkill in a Royal Rumble, but it works here.

R&R eliminate each other/themselves together. Fitting. Dakota “help me I’m useless on my own” Kai is shook.

Why is Indi in the top 5? Or top 7? How is this girl so damn prestigious??

Kacy really just slung herself around the ringpost. I’m becoming a fan of her antics/performances in multiwomen matches.

I see Shotzi’s character is, “I come so close yet cannot manage to touch the gold.” I feel for her... cuz I can’t stand Candice.

I love how Io carries herself. She’s a shining example of not allowing her heritage to hold her back or make her feel unimportant. She responds in Japanese, and without missing a beat, translates in perfectly spoken and quick English. Never dances, never smiles, never looks like a chump. Serious and answers the damn question. She gets points.

Lol I love KLR so much. Just ducks out of the ring the first time she’s bested.

“KLR is well versed in mental manipulation,” that she is. She’s honestly a top competitor in that sense; equal to the likes of Sasha and Charlotte when it comes to psychology.

Piper’s got power. Ragdolling KLR here.

That’s right, performing with Charlotte Flair at wm is an accolade one can only hope to achieve (I’m annoying I know) no but seriously, KLR vs Becky Lynch? Take my money.

This ref is a walking headache. We’re now getting into the autumn of overbooked women’s matches. And UK’s first title match back. Yikes.

That senton was awkward and looked painful af for KLR’s neck. If you’re gonna risk that move while selling a leg injury, make sure you have more space to correct your landing.

I almost wish that turnbuckle came undone naturally because KLR is already such a good seller, but I’m gonna assume this is a worked move since it’s been left exposed.

Yeah see there are issues with that spot. Positives: KLR didn’t purposefully undo the turnbuckle, so it’s not on her to give another title match; the spot has potential, as I’m guessing that would be genuinely painful. Negatives: Piper is too big of a woman to hit the lower turnbuckle doing the cannonball, so she ended up hitting the middle... which was padded. Good ending on paper if you don’t do the equations, but poor execution. Not Piper nor KLR’s fault though.

Slow pacing and I hate overbooked garbage, but this obviously isn’t the only match they’re having so *shrug*

A problem I consistently have with SD in particular is how they set up commercial breaks. They always do something dramatic, cut to commercial, come back and shit’s always completely different. How you gonna cut from Alexa leading and hearing the Fiend’s laugh, to return to Lacey in charge ???

The patience Asuka gave Zelina to set up the arm kick was dumb.

“A hard arm bar by Asuka,” he says, even though her legs were completely bent. Easy on the credit given plz.

Zelina telegraphs too much. None of the bumps she takes ever catch me by surprise.

In the spirit of being fair, put your fucking shoulders down and let her attempt a pinfall, Asuka.

like 20 seconds into the match and it’s already 10x better than the Bianca vs Billie Kay one. Don’t even waste a spot on Main Event for Billie Kay. No, I’m not not sorry for saying that.

It’s not that I hold issue with Bianca’s showboating or mannerisms, but it’s all so much more fitting for a heel.

Beautiful stalling suplex, but Liv is rather small.

Beautiful distance on that dropkick to Liv. Liv gets points for throwing herself so far.

We have enough women who rip their shirts off deep into matches, me thinks. Don’t need it from Liv as well.

Momentum could’ve been split better, but that was a decent match.

so my brother and i just watched Scooby Doo Return to Zombie Island

It. Was. TERRIBLE.

and let me tell you why :) :) :) :) :) (warning, very long rant)

The animation is so disgustingly cheap looking. You don’t even have to compare it to Zombie Island’s amazing animation. You can just look at it and see how awful it is. Aside from the characters’ basic “standing completely still and blinking while talking” animation and their “drag the character’s walking along so it looks like they’re moving” walk animation, the animators couldn’t even get continuity right.

look at this. First off, that is a clean cut to be done by a cat monster with claws. Second...

THIS is how it appears just a couple minutes later:

WHAT EVEN????

At one point, Scooby just blips onto the screen behind Shaggy when the animators could have at LEAST dragged a static image behind Shaggy for a couple of frames instead of “BAM HERE HE IS!”

I don’t have a program to let me see frame by frame, but these have to be around 2-3 frames apart.

The thing that really ticks me off is when a cat “monster” scratches a chair Scooby is hiding behind, the scratch mark looks like it’s just...pasted on top of the layer. Oh my gosh I need to show you

look at this. who in their right mind looked at this or even drew it and thought “yeah, this looks good”

SECONDLY, they pretty much just SPAT on the original. In the original, they were older, they had different outfits, they had JOBS. This movie? Nah, Daphne just mentions how she worked for that news station one summer for school.

... THEN WHAT ABOUT SHAGGY AND SCOOBY WHO WORKED AT THE AIRPORT LOOKING FOR SMUGGLED GOODS????? WHAT ABOUT VELMA’S BOOKSHOP??? The characters (mostly Velma) CONSTANTLY try to “explain” how their “first Zombie island mystery” happened scientifically. Even though they said so themselves “but we were there! We saw them disintegrate!” Velma and her know-it-all self just COMPLETELY DISMISSES THAT by spouting some junk about “oh the first cat creatures were just after gold!” (yes, they really made this movie be about people looking for Moonscar’s treasure *eye roll*) and the zombies? HAHAHA, those were “swamp gas”

VELMA YOU COMPLETE AND TOTAL MORON. YOU WERE THERE. YOU SAW SIMONE AND LENA TURN INTO SKELETONS AND THEN DUST.

OH! And let me tell you all about their personalities and voice acting :) :) :) :) :)

Fred. Frank Welker, my man, you’re good. You’ve been Fred since the beginning and I appreciate that. I even like the way you say “treasure” as “traysure” lol I also think you did Scooby, which is okay too. The only thing I can’t stand is how DUMB and OBSESSED they made Fred be with either traps or the Mystery Machine. (also it’s SHAGGY’S van and idc who says otherwise) Scooby is...Scooby. Although I REALLY wish they’d bring back the whole thing where he doesn’t really know he’s a dog. “get that DOG out of here!” “Dog??? Where??”

Daphne, you’re fine. Grey Delise is a good choice for you, and she’s been voicing you for a while now. tbh her personality wasn’t really showed in this movie. She’s fine, I guess.

Shaggy. Matthew Lilliard just doesn’t cut it. Somebody get Billy West or Scot Innes back, PLEASE. ORRRRRRRRRRR get that guy who worked at Walmart to voice Shaggy! You know that video of the cashier in Walmart who can sound like Shaggy and Scooby? FRICK, look up Shaggy impressions on YT and get somebody from there cause they sound a lot better than Matthew. (Sorry Matthew, you do a good job, but it still sounds like someone imitating Shaggy, not....Shaggy.) Like Scooby, Shaggy is Shaggy. Although they did make him a bit more snarky, like “you always make us get chased around/be bait!” like yeah it was funny the first couple of times in previous movies but like...give it a rest, dude.

Velma. Oh Velma, Velma, Velma...I am SO sorry Kate Micucci, but you were NOT the right choice for Velma. She sounded like a whiny high-pitched nerd with a stuffy nose. (I’m sorry Kate, but compared to other Velmas in the past, this was just too much of a difference for her voice) Combined with this know-it-all personality who’s OBSESSED with mysteries and NOTHING else and the CONSTANT NEED TO HAVE SCIENTIFIC FACTS BACKING UP EVERY POSSIBLE THING just makes the character unlikable.

This movie makes it out to be like the gang’s only friends because of mysteries. Like they have nothing else in common and mysteries is the only thing keeping them together. At one point Daphne even says “gee, I guess we only talk about mysteries with each other huh?”

*takes a deep breath*

YOU GUYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FRIENDS WHO JUST GET TANGLED UP IN MYSTERIES ALL THE TIME. YOU HANG OUT WITH EACH OTHER RIGHT????? SURELY NOT EVERY TIME YOU GUYS MEET UP A MYSTERY HAPPENS. I MEAN. WHAT DO YOU GUYS TALK ABOUT WHILE DRIVING AROUND? OR WAITING FOR YOUR FOOD AT THE MALT SHOPPE??!?!?!?!?

ALSO AT ONE POINT SOME DUDE WHO IS CLEARLY LIKE IN HIS LATE 20-EARLY 30s HITS ON DAPHNE WHO (IN THIS MOVIE REMIND YOU, SHE SAID ONE SUMMER SHE WORKED FOR A NEWS STATION FOR SCHOOLa) HAS TO BE UNDERAGE.

I MEAN...LOOK AT THIS CHAD-JEFF FOXWORTHY GUY. HE IS WAY TOO OLD TO BE FLIRTING WITH A HIGHSCHOOLER

And the villains? They were 3 people who we saw for maybe 2 minutes TOPS when the gang reaches the island. We never see or hear from them again until the end.

At least the original Scooby cartoon had FRICKIN’ CLUES AND HINTS AS TO WHO IT COULD BE. BUT OHHHH NOOOOO, THIS ONE DIDN’T LET ANYBODY SEE CLUES. AT LEAST NONE TO HELP IDENTIFY THE VILLAINS.

do NOT give me the whole “it’s made for kids” excuse. just because something is made for kids does NOT make something like this okay. FRICK. EVEN THE ORIGINAL SATURDAY MORNING CARTOON LOOKED BETTER AND HAD BETTER STORIES. AND DO YOU KNOW WHY??? BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY TRIED. THEY KNEW THEY WERE LIMITED, BUT BY GOLLY THAT DIDN’T STOP THEM. YES THEY MADE MISTAKES BUT TBH THOSE ARE MORE ACCEPTABLE THAN THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE. THE ORIGINAL HAD CHARM. AND IT WORKED WHEN THEY PLAYED CHEESY MUSIC IN THE BACKGROUND OF A CHASE SCENE. THIS ONE JUST MAKES IT SEEM LIKE THE MOVIE IS SCREAMING AT YOU “YOU REMEMBER THIS???!!! REMEMBER THE OLD MUSIC??!?!?!?!?” This whole entire movie is just trash. They just slapped the Zombie Island part on the movie to get more money from SD fans. They tried to be funny and quirky, and for a sequel to a movie like Zombie Island, it just doesn’t work.

On a rating of 1-10 Stars, I give this movie a -5.

Watching Star Wars: A New Hope for the 1st time

Thoughts while watching:

-“Stormtrooper aim” but in the first scene they actually killed people? -That gold robot is kind of annoying. -Princess leia is fiesty :) -Why are munchkins kidnapping the blue droid? -those munchkins are kinda cute even if they evil -luke don’t be pervy that’s your sister -aww poor R2D2 :(. Everyone is so mean to you! - lol luke is such an angsty farmboy -wow luke isn’t the sharpest tack -i mean old ben kenobi; obi wan kenobi -it’s not even a stretch! -3CPO is such a drama queen! -why you lyin’ obi wan? -soooo vague -oh no. His uncle and aunt are dead aren’t they? -dang. Well at least now he has nothing holding him back…very convenient. -Darth Vader is pretty well spoken -there’s so much going on in the background it’s really impressive! -“These aren’t the droids youre looking for” -it’s the OOD! -racist against droids wth -he cut of that dude’s arm! Forshadowing! -Hans Solo! -“door’s locked move onto the next one” that’s not how house searches work! -EWW what up with slug dude?! -poor leia��;( -oh no obiwan is gonna die… -Lol hans trying to talk on the phone -LEIA IS AWESOME -WTH GARBAGE SNAKE?? -SHOOT AT THEIR FEET!!! -the lightsaber fight between DV and Kenobi is pretty boring -WTF? He never even went to the academy -luke’s gonna b the only survivor isn’t he? -yay! - but imagine how many technicians and maintanence workers must have died :( -CHEWWY NEEDS A METAL!

abalone - what kind of situations compromise my muse emotionally:

fighting with (your) Dazai :’)! alternatively, if anything happened to Kouyou, he’d be ready to murder everyone even remotely related to it.

aegerine - my muse’s opinion of the supernatural:

after running into and fighting Lovecraft, he’s… more of a believer than he was before. he’s not… terrified of it or anything, because he’s confident in his strength, but he doesn’t like the thought of there being more things like Lovecraft out there.

agate - how my muse calms down:

going for long drives! alternatively, taking out some aggression with sparring sessions and such. or long, hot baths!

blue lace agate - my muse’s favorite form of communication (verbal, letters, texting, etc.):

he tends to prefer verbal - particularly face to face - but lately he’s discovered that texting can be… useful.

fire agate - if my muse is brave or cowardly:

moss agate: if my muse has a high or low opinion of themselves:

depends on when you catch him. :’) he’ll always act like it’s high, and sometimes he is genuinely self-confident (for example, he’s always sincerely confident in his strength), but deep down he’s more or less aware that he’s ‘in a cage’ as his character song shows (in his canon-verse, that is) and knows that the second he stops being useful he’ll be discarded, and he’s also scared of his own Corruption, so it can be pretty low at other times!

amazonite - what kind of situations call for my muse to be dishonest:

any time it might benefit him with people he’s not close to or whatever, although he tends to be truthful anyway unless it’s necessary, simply because he doesn’t usually need to play mental games when the truth can be much more painful. with people he’s close to, he’ll only lie if it’s absolutely necessary, or if it’s something that’s freaking him out he’ll act like it isn’t, that sort of thing.

amethyst - what my muse would most like to be able to shape-shift into:

ammolite - how lucky or unlucky my use is:

generally decently lucky? but he refuses to play card games against Dazai. :’)

angel aura quartz - my muse’s opinion of LGBT+ issues:

it’s not something he really pays that much attention to - lol what does the mafia care about laws? - but he does hold rather progressive views and is glad when more LGBT+ issues are resolved in the favour of the LGBT+ community.

apache tears - a sadness headcanon:

he’s good at ignoring it, usually. it depends on what made him sad in the first place, but he’s generally good at acting like nothing is wrong. if he does need comfort he might go hide with Kouyou for a while to sort out his feelings, or of course your Dazai.

apatite - a headcanon about my muse’s intuition:

incredibly good when things are straight-forward! if there’s manipulation or subterfuge going on, he can sort of get a general sense as to who to be wary of, but that certainly doesn’t mean he can’t be manipulated.

apophyllite - my muse’s religious/spiritual beliefs:

None - or, well, atheistic, basically.

aquamarine - where my muse feels most calm/relaxed:

biotite - the biggest problems my muse is currently dealing with:

He just wants to be useful to the Port Mafia; he doesn’t necessarily care about his own achievements. In a way he sees himself as separate from the world at large since the Port Mafia operates in the shadows and such.

calcite - my muse’s social tendencies (introverted vs extroverted, parties vs one-on-one conversations, etc.):

He’s quite extroverted most of the time, but just like anyone else, he needs time to himself to recharge. Basically he can be quite charming and sustain large conversations with many people, so he’s quite comfortable being the center of a party/mission, but that’s more for… Business things. If it’s something not related to the Mafia, he’d generally rather talk one-on-one with people.

Not Well™. Probably drinking, unless he’s anxious before a mission in which case possibly just pacing and going over the plan a million times to be sure he has everything down, or trying to distract himself by getting into other conversations. After all, he’s lost a lot of subordinates in the past, and he’d rather not have a repeat of that, thanks–

chalcedony - the saddest my muse has ever been:

in main verse, that’d be… right now, actually. :’) in canon verse, that’d be when he was a child and lost everyone he cared about.

chalcopyrite - how my muse deals with ending relationships:

Depends on how invested he was. Since he’s unlikely to get into serious relationships in canon-verse, he’d likely be able to end them pretty easily, to the point where the other person might begin to wonder if he’d ever cared at all. In main verse, though… Well, they’re getting married, so of course if anything happened he’d be devastated. Expect lots of drinking and unhealthy coping mechanisms!

charoite - who my muse looks up to:

main verse, your Dazai. in literally every verse, Kouyou, and to some degree Akutagawa, but that’s more just like a respect thing, not necessarily ‘looking up to’ him.

chrysocolla: a money-making headcanon:

lol he doesn’t need more money the Mafia pays crazy well. if he did, for some reason, need money, he’d probably just sell some belongings or possibly publish/sell some poetry?

copper - how I think my muse will end up when they’re older:

coral - how my muse views the natural world:

He loves things like cherry blossom viewing or going to natural wonder sites (like Mt. Fuji), because they’re beautiful, and a nice source of inspiration and such.

diamond - a sex headcanon:

He likes having his hair pulled, as has recently been discovered, but he’s also generally not that submissive, generally speaking. Sure, he can be, and sometimes would be, but generally he prefers to be at least somewhat in control… A power-bottom, if you will, when he does bottom.

he has more than one apartment (for safety/convenience reasons), but his main place can basically be described as lavish as fuck. expensive art, fine wine - he’s even working on installing a wine cellar - and very tasteful, modern furniture and such while still focusing on comfort (since he has to unwind there at the end of long days).

fossil - what my muse’s dream job is:

… he hasn’t seriously considered a life outside the Mafia. but being a sommelier/professional wine taster would be cool.

galena - what it’s like to be in a relationship with my muse:

ask your Dazai ;) generally one can expect expensive restaurant dates when he has time, or lots of nature-related scenes - flower viewing, historical site visiting, etc - again, when he has time, which probably isn’t frequent. if it’s with someone outside the mafia it’s…… probably gonna be short-lived simply because of how busy he is and the danger he’d be putting someone in by getting close to them.

garnet - what my muse’s perfect partner would be:

your Dazai lol. EVEN IF I’M BEGINNING TO WANT TO KILL YOU FOR THIS– no but in all seriousness, someone who understands him and knows how to get through to him - someone he can trust to have his back and who he doesn’t have to worry about becoming a victim/target, someone who can help him when he feels ‘stuck’, basically just someone he can trust completely and who isn’t scared of him or his Corruption. so, again, your Dazai.

Not at all. he literally tortures people, there’s not a lot that bothers him.

his childhood was garbage, but he can sometimes… still be pretty childish. :’) this is pretty rare to see as anything other than his short temper, though, since he’s an Executive and mostly tries to keep it to himself.

iolite - my muse’s drinking habits:

frequent, excessive, not at all healthy, -100000 / 10 do not attempt at home

jade - if my muse would ever cheat on a partner:

no, he’d just break it off if he was unhappy. he’s part of the Mafia, but he’s not fucking disgustingly heartless.

… probably not all that great, but not through any particular fault of his own, he’s just really busy. he’s also terrified of fucking up a kid’s life honestly, and does Not want children. He’d also be scared that Corruption might get passed on.

For all that he can be incredibly easy to piss off, he can also calm down quite quickly! But that’s not really headcanon.

the dangerous kind (as both friends and foes), or the filthy-rich kind with expensive tastes. he’s a high-class kid, y’know.

I don’t think he necessarily thought much about it - probably just following in his parents shoes/expectations.

He enjoys looking at stars and the moon and such, though he doesn’t actually know that much about them. Thinks it might be interesting to go if he gets the chance, but who knows if he’d actually take the opportunity if it was presented.

mother of pearl - if my muse tends to lift people up or bring them down:

if they’re friends/allies he does his best to lift them up and if we’re talking literally he can certainly lift people– but if enemies, he has 0 problems bringing them down again, literally as necessary–

Pretty good, but not like super detailed unless it’s something he’s super passionate about.

Relatively! He likes poetry and art and such, so he’s actually quite a creative writer.

pearl - a mental health headcanon:

no healthy ways of dealing with mental health issues we die like men (aka wow talk about repressed trauma and terror of himself and self-loathing to a certain degree etc etc etc)

petalite - what my muse would do if they found a wallet on the street:

he’ll say he’d keep it, but honestly he’d probably turn it into the police because a) he doesn’t need the money and b) he actually isn’t completely heartless, no matter how much he pretends otherwise

pyrite - a physical health headcanon:

his physical strength and condition are obviously quite good, but I imagine his health is actually quite good as well - he sleeps pretty consistent hours and does lots of exercise and makes sure to eat balanced meals, so he rarely gets sick… from anything other than a hangover. his liver’s probably gonna fail sooner or later. it’s sort of a wonder it hasn’t already, actually.

quartz - how my muse thinks other people see them:

this is another instance of ‘it depends’ - he knows his subordinates are generally fond of him and consider him a good, competent and friendly leader (as long as they don’t fuck up too badly), but he also knows/believes that a lot of people are actually terrified of him losing control to Corruption. (besides those who are scared of him for being a Mafia Executive, of course.)

rhodonite - if my muse prefers elegance or convenience:

depends on the day. if he has time for fancy meals and such, he’s all about it. if it’s been a long day/week/etc then he’ll deal with convenience over elegance, but he won’t be happy about it.

rubellite - if my muse has any ‘triggers’ that inspire painful memories:

He sure does! But he’s done his best to repress all of that. mmm healthy coping mechanisms!!

ruby - a happiness headcanon:

when he’s really happy/excited, he can definitely act more childish

sapphire - if everyone my muse knew was hanging off a cliff and they could only choose three to save, the rest certainly dying, who they would choose:

serpentine - how my muse would seduce another:

skillfully. he didn’t grow up under Kouyou without learning anything. He can be effortlessly charming, and in terms of art/fine wine/expensive hobbies, he’s quite knowledgeable, so witty conversation is easy for him as well - he’s a great conversationalist and he knows he’s conventionally attractive but wouldn’t be overly arrogant. Act every inch the gentleman as necessary, be completely charming, spend money or not as his partner seems to prefer, take them wherever interests them, etc etc etc. He’s good at this.

silver - if my muse prefers masculinity or femininity:

he’s not one who’s particularly caught up in that sort of thing, but for himself he obviously tends towards the more (stereo)typically “masculine”-coded things. on other people he could not give less of a fuck.

tsavorite - if my muse believes in destiny or fate:

in terms of ‘everyone will die eventually’, yes. as in some higher power controlling his every action… well, wouldn’t that just be Mori/Dazai? so fate/destiny, no.

ulexite - how empathetic/sympathetic/compassionate my muse is:

with people in the Mafia, he’s pretty sympathetic, generally speaking, and does his best to relate to others/hear them out when they need to vent. with people outside the Mafia, he largely doesn’t give a single fuck about compassion except in the case of innocents who are just in the wrong place at the wrong time, in which case he’ll spare them if he can afford to. he doesn’t feel that bad if he can’t afford to, though. Mafioso, kids.

unakite - what my muse’s ideal pet would be:

something that doesn’t require a lot of attention/care, since he’s often quite busy and gets sent abroad frequently. possibly a cat, since he could just have someone trusted drop in and check up on it/change the litter/give it fresh food and water as necessary. dogs need too much attention - walks and such - so probably not a dog.

verdite - my muse’s ethnicity/family history:

???? good question. popular fanon seems to dig him being French, or half-, but who knows! for his history, I imagine his parents died/were killed when he was pretty young, hence his joining the mafia at such a young age.
